Torchwood Team:
they're all absolutely horrible <3
MANKAI Company:
I'm so sorry for submitting 26 characters but it's important and they canonically consider each other family. I'm so sorry. But they're so important to me.
24 gay theater kids came together and found a home
They are a big group of people that range from teenagers to adults and it’s very nice to see their dynamics as they all go through theater with different eyes, between those who have a long life in front of them and are excited to do something new, and those others who feel like they are too old for this but still do it regardless, and like the way friendships are born between those people who seem so different yet have some similarities some past memories they relate to, or also see the adults trying to be there for the younger members it’s very cute I swear. You see even if I ramble here it’s hard to explain because I would explain 6 whole years of lore but yeah overall is just a situation of, people who seem different but find similarities between one another and do their best to help who struggles and are all bond by one single aim which is bloom on stage!
These are 25 individuals that all come from completely different backgrounds, situations, and experiences that all happened to come together by chance, and formed a tight bond and family that cannot be replicated. Sakuya Sakuma, a young orphan boy who found refuge from his troubling homelife through theatre, found himself a home within this small run down theatre company, and found a family through the people in it. This isn’t a Headcanon, A3! Is a found family story. Sakuya views everyone there as a member of his family, and it’s not just him. Misumi Ikaruga, a man kicked out of his home for being “different” (cough Autistic cough), finally found a family that accepts and loves him unconditionally. Taichi Nanao had been taught that you need to always be fighting your way to the top, and whoever gets hurt along the way is nothing but a necessary casualty. So being able to find a place that is willing to work and rise with him, and care for him along the way… and the theres Azuma, a man so heavily affected by the trauma he experienced as a child, and yet has pushed it so far down to the point you wouldn’t even know it by looking at him. But here, this god who knows how old man finally found it, that home he has been searching for, and a place where he can finally break down his walls. Sure, one could argue a3! Is 4 different found families, but you would be wrong. Yes, each troupe is important, however would you then deny the importance of cross troupe relationships? The four leaders, who all encourage one another to do better, Tsuzuru and Kazunari, who allow one another to finally be honest about their feelings, Azami and Kumon who are the definition of “boys being boys”, Sakyo and Azuma, two adults who seem well past the years of found family, who found solace in one another. A3! Is about people of all ages coming together to be a family. It doesn’t matter who you are, or where you come from. You could be just a random college kid off the road, or a former international spy, that doesn’t matter. Mankai has a spot for you, where you will be loved, accepted, and cherished.

i finished act 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! now there's just all these events I've yet to get to from a3en... plus reading through act 3 translations if those exist... i hope they do! but the FIRST thing I'm going to do is fill out my a3! name chart, haha :) okay but before i get ahead of myself: here's my thoughts on the rest of the winter story!
the moment they mentioned the fleur award, I knew within my heart that act 3 might have the members seriously tackle winning or at least getting a nomination, and hey, look, sakuya mentioned it at the end! there's lots of little things I could feel them start to set up, which is cool. like, haruto mentions that godza has new recruits! so I assume shift is gonna pop up in act 3. and then there's the hyakka theater company which sakuya adored so much winning the fleur award at the end... I wonder if we'll get to meet them? I also saw a character on a poll tournament once that I think was an old leader of spring? and since yuzo's already someone we've met, I wonder if we'll meet all the leaders of the old troupes... we've already seen quite a few bits and pieces of them, after all! then, of course, there's the thing with misumi's grandfather's old scripts and reni, which I'm sure will come into play... hopefully we'll get to see his brother, too... guy also recognized reni, so he's probably got some kind of connections with mankai, right? what if he was a leader of the winter troupe, or something? lots of possibilities. and tsuzuru's eldest brother could also bring something interesting to the table? he got his own sprite and all, and he seems pretty interesting, so I feel it'd be a waste if this was his only appearance...
since we're on that subject, I was very glad to meet tadoru. his and itaru's conversation was just really nice, and it was cool to see him kinda watching out for tsuzuru in his awkward way. for a moment i was confused by him randomly saying hello to itaru at the bar, though. was sitting there like. ...is itaru getting hit on? tadoru also gave me sort of chikage-esque vibes because he was just that friendly, and so when he gave itaru sake and was like. hey! bribe material! i was like. ah. nice. would love to see some more elaboration on what he says, though because... “I mean, back when everything was falling apart at home, I just ran off and left Tsuzuru to deal with it all himself.” is intriguing. tadoru says that tsuzuru probably resents him... i mean, he definitely has a right to, but i don't think he like, does, if that makes sense? like... his family is his family. he might not have been happy about dealing with stuff without his eldest brother around, but I don't think it's something that would... fester, if it makes sense?
I've gotten ahead of myself again, so let's rewind chronologically... it was nice to see the improv battle spark something in guy! also it's nice every time they run into haruto because like, tasuku probably calls him "yamada" on purpose but like, half of the time that people get his name wrong, I'm pretty sure it's totally sincere, which makes it even funnier... like homare being like. "ah, hato-kun, I think it was?" with no ill-will is amazing. i didn't actually make the connection that this was tasuku's second time playing raoul until now, which is quite a fun detail.
don't have much to say about the play itself... you made a really good point about how POTO relates to guy, so I don't have much to add except that there's a comment that izumi makes about homare as richard dragging emotion out of the phantom, and I thought that was neat, because it's homare that gets guy to laugh, too, with his silly chickpeas bit. all of winter getting drunk was sooooo cute. its so dear to me that tasuku and tsumugi are just like. intelligently critiquing theatre stuff. not even arguing. like how is their drunk habit just... how they are normally, it's great. and then of course there's homare who's in tears and super sappily composing poetry. love him. and love that he manages to elicit a truly wonderful-sounding laugh from guy the same way, later! what a BEAUTIFUL cg that was!!! homare looks so pleased with himself and he's right to be that way!!
the power outage for the last performance was such a cool moment, too... like, the way that this phantom's final line dedicates his song for his friend. where it's not about being a singer or taking his revenge, anymore. it's such a good way to reflect what guy says before the final performance, that being "all of you are the reason I am able to see myself as human again.” which is what chris does for the phantom, here. you can also hear in guy's BREATH how much finishing this play affected him, which is awesome. seriously, the VAs are so talented, but also whoever's directing them or the like has a really good eye for what kinds of voice performances to add...
watched the backstages and them at karaoke was cute! so they staged it with just music, i see... the part where they method acted like they were in a musical was really funny. yuki resorting to just saying he'll make them pay him every time they break out into song... the sakyo-influence. tsuzuru and yuki would actually be a really fun combo in terms of like, events, also. they've both got this midlly pessimistic way of talking. the SR hisoka was also really good... cant believe he sleeps in a coffin! no wonder tasuku got so into treating hisoka as a vampire during nocturnality lol. anyways what a great actor he is. i love that, with the possibility that hisoka was possessed presented to tasuku, who's seen magic happen before, tasuku is like. alright. time to act my heart out. i bet it was really good practice.
there's a bit where sakuya says "citron was still with us back then..." which. very misleading turn of phrase. anyways they're going to zafra!! whoo!! i think it's so funny that guy is like "I'm a wanted criminal" as like an expression of the fact that his presence is troublesome, completely unaware of the fact that two of the people he's gonna be travelling with are like, also wanted criminals. itaru has every right to call chikage a "menace" like he does here.
another hit out of the park with izumi going "I do not see." about chikage's illegal passport for guy. the structure of this episode is really interesting, though--winter had really big developments outside of their own story (tsumugi in act 1 plus a bit of tasuku, homare in the next play, azuma in the next + a bit of tasuku there, too, and then hisoka in spring's act 2 story. because they got such rich development there, it gives the story space to really work out things between guy and citron. like, apart from azuma and tasuku visiting azuma's old home, it's not like there's a particularly big event any of the other winter members go through? while spring has masumi's whole deal and though its minor, itaru has to open up a little to having a roommate. and summer had tenma's audition and dealing with that stuff, plus kazunari's career worries, alongside kumon's whole stresses (of which muku and juza obviously were major in helping him with). everyone in autumn gets a collage, but while it's not like the characters in winter weren't major presences, it was more like they were reflecting on stuff that had already happened, rather than having new things that developed them in some way? which allows for space.
as for guy's subordinate, mika, i'm like 80% sure their name is mika because it's meant to be like, "mikan"
we already discussed my opinion of zafra as a nation so there's no need for me to really go into that, but about tangerine!! firstly the fact that tsuzuru just has to instinctually correct his japanese is so dear to me, like, he can't rid himself of the impulse... also I can't believe I said muku probably reminded citron of tangerine and guy basically echoes my exact thoughts... like muku, he's rather cute and brave! running to save citron, and then making sure the fire is taken care of... what a good person! I'm sure he'll do well... didn't end up being twist-evil after all, phew. I'm glad I was wrong about that. the end was a little underwhelming in terms of how the king wrapped it up. i'm glad he did so kindly, but I think it's a rather big upheaval that just happened and it felt like things got wrapped up quite neatly... I feel like there's probably a more complicated and interesting way it could've gone down, that also makes zafra feel more like a real place, but that's for me to obsessively plot and headcanon my way around.
the moment they mentioned the chandelier i was like Ah. chekhov's chandelier!! also there's a literal chandelier fall in the actual POTO so like... yeah, of course. I ADORED how sakuya jumped in, improv wise. not even part of the cast! and yet! perfect reaction! he should be proud of himself. (my notes at that moment are just "THATS MY KIDDDDDDD!!!!")
the part where they save citron was also so good... like firstly, half the reason the plan to lure out citron works is because he thinks that it's mankai, which is a wild, would-be-tragic coincidence had not chikage and itaru saved him... speaking of!! what a good moment. those two are both kind of the "adults" of the spring troupe, so it was neat to see them put themselves in harms way while kind of redirecting the younger members. especially tsuzuru, who's fairly responsible... it's nice to see him get treated as young, yknow? anyways. it's up to dad and grandpa to save spring troupe's mom, right... i usually object to obsessively fitting found family into roles but since spring troupe has done this to themselves i can call them as i like!
the dynamic between itaru and chikage was really nice to see... they both know each other quite well, huh? the casual way they treated things was kind of fun. especially when chikage's like. close your eyes for a sec, would you, chigasaki? and itaru very cutely after being like ah close my eyes physically or mentally to your crimes? replies with roger that.
chikage rushing back in to warn everyone about the chandelier was also really really good... i love that his voice gets low when he's frazzled!
citron and spring's proper reunion was so nice... sakuya cried! and I really liked that guy talked to citron in zafran when telling him about being able to rediscover his emotions... “I was not merely ignoring my own emotions, but yours, as well.” was a really good point he made.
also with spring being family it's really awesome that citron calls them his second family.... that's right, they are! and then sakuya states the same feeling at the end, where he says "You're all my true family." which did, I admit, bring a tear to my eye. actually i started tearing up because before that he said "I guess I always assumed that we would always be here together as a company, you know? But that's not true, is it?" and then I remembered the a3en shutdown and got emotional.
still, it's such a sweet ending! excited for more, whenever I get around to it! and I can make my chart now!! I've just got one remaining thought, which is: I wonder who did guy’s scar makeup in zafra, since azami wasn't around? (probably azuma, is my guess)
YEEHAW CONGRATULATION!!! At least finishing the EN sever's content will be welcomed. (and then you'd caught up on me bc i still haven't started anything past that ahah…. ahah… cries). But congratulation at least on being introduced to the full cast now!!
under cut!
Congratulation on seeing it coming ;D yeah it makes sense honestly, after having sorted out some of their biggest emotional problems, it's time for them to start aiming higher eheh. And yesss there's so many set up. I haven't touched act 3 yet so it's just…. so far ahead for me lmao. We will get to meet the ex leaders of each troupes in act 3 though yeah! I really hope you're right in term of how Guy could see it coming too, and how everything is set up for more content in the future, hopefully. we'll see!
DFDLKFJDFL love thinking immediately that Todoru would hit on Itaru over just looking out for Tsuzuru, this is really funny. And ahah sake of chekov if you will. As for what you bring up, yeah… I think it's complicated. On one hand, it's understandable to want to run away when everything is falling apart - your parents are the one putting you through hell and ultimately you know it's going to ruin any possibility to a future you can have, so it's self preservation and all. But when you have siblings, it's leaving them to take the blow for you while you give up on them. It's selfish, it's understandable, i can't exactly blame him, but i blame him still because in the end it's the younger ones who had to take responsibilities while they could have banded together. But everyone was just trying to survive. When you see how Tsuzuru had to sacrifice everything for his family, you know Todoru should have done so too… But therefore it's even more unfair that Todoru dumped everything on Tsuzuru's shoulders. It's complicated, it leaves things to fester. So yeah. difficult for everyone involved.
Back to the plot, it was so nice indeed for Guy! and DLKJFDLKF yeah Tasuku is really just being petty that way. Also "Yamada" is Haruto's birth last name and also a very basic name? as in like, it's like "Smith" in the US, it's something a lot of people have, it doesn't stand out much. I think Tasuku is doing a couple things here. First, he used to call Haruto by his first name without honorific, which he doesn't even do with 90% of Mankai (the only people he calls by their first name without their honorifics are Tsumugi, Citron and Guy, so childhood friend privilege and the two without last name. Azuma stands as being the only one he calls by his first name + honorific. Everyone else is on last name + honorific basis). So it implies Haruto and him were close, yet by calling him by his last name again, Tasuku puts this distance between them. but it's also a name only Tasuku really knows, most people don't know Haruto like that. It remains something that denote how close they used to be, twisting the knife in the wound if you will. Meanwhile since Haruto wants desperately to be on top, to stand out, to be a star, it's also constantly reminding him that he's just like everyone else, that he's not standing out on his own, he's just a guy. it's so incredibly petty from Tasuku in general LDKJFDLKFJLD he knows what he's doing! But yeah the rst just, clearly isn't having this many hard feelings. I do think Azuma is being petty when he messes up (bc let's not forget also that the whole fight with Tasuku happened because of Haruto too, so Azuma may be entitled to be petty) but Homare? is fully genuine. It's so much. And yeah Tasuku and Haruto promotes POTO in act 1 when Tasuku is still working at the Godza! the more time changes.
And ahah i may have got ahead of myself there then -- but yeah Izumi's point here is very good, Homare truly is the emotion maker man. ALL OF WINTER GETTING DRUNK SO CUTEEE YES. and so true Tasuku and Tsumugi are so cute like that. hyperfixation goes brrr. meanwhile Homare, always a gem. he's amazing. And the fact he really gets to Guy is just 😭 Also not to be petty about fandom stuff here but i used to see a lot of jokes a few years ago about how Guy would be fed up with Homare's bullshit and would shut him down and be mean to him because of that and it used to make me SO angry because like Guy would NEVER, Guy would laugh and encourage him, it's HISOKA you want if you want to bully Homare damnit. This made me so angry. Homare has such a positive influence on Guy and Guy may be the one person in the Troupe who fully sincerely vibe with him (and not just to be sympathetic like Azuma and Tsumugi can be). I'm so glad you felt it. AND THAT CG IS SO CUTEEEE. A troupe symbolized by how hard it is for them to be honest about their feelings and how they closed all of them in, being able to laugh so openly with one another being silly. God i love them. Homare is so good.
YESSS Izumi's "the play will go smoothly" really didn't account for that lmao. I loved that everything went so damn wrong then. It made me think about how in act 1 every troupes except Winter have this moment of "The Show Must Go On" -- something that should have stopped the performance fully but the actors adlibed around the issue and all went well. Winter didn't have this moment in act 1, when Tsumugi fucks the play up no one knows how to fix it until the play is over. It really shows how quickly the others troupes went in synch with one another VS how Winter still had to work on their bond first. but in act 2, it's the opposite? For the 3 others troupes, all the problems happen before the plays, the plays themselves go rather smoothly. But Winter gets all sort of problems during their performance and they have to adlib ways to have the show going on even though they hit a deadend. i think it's a neat way to show that NOW Winter is fully in synch with one another. And i do think Guy is the ultimate way for them to make it happen, since Guy having so many of the issues the rest of Winter had to go through, the way they support Guy shows the way they learnt to support each other during the last year. But YEAH YOU'RE SO RIGHT ABOUT GUY'S PERFORMANCE. it's just so so good and the scene is so touching and gaah ;;-;;. the VAs are just so good and the directing is really incredible. Also something i love is coming back to the early plays and see how drastically different the acting for the acting is?? like, after reading act 2, they added voicelines to Alex in Wonderland, so i went back to check the event then -- and it struck me how, while they clearly had improved and weren't hammy at all, the acting was still miles away from being as clear than in Charlatant of Oz. Playing bad acting shouldn't be so hard, but managing to play "medium acting, not bad, but there's room to improve" seems like such a talent to me. the directing must be really tight because even just by VA's strength alone you need some guidance there man.
Glad you liked the backstages! it's so cute to me ahh. YUKI IS SO FUNNY he really became so cut-throat now, thanks Sakyo. God you're right, Tsuzuru and Yuki like "the two somewhat sane people against the world". until Yuki asks Tsuzuru to write a play that has fun costumes in and then he calls him Villager C again and now all hell breaks lose. RIGHTTT I LOVE IT. Hisoka has been sleeping in a coffin since his R from Nocturnality, and Tasuku already had to confiscate it then, and Hisoka was just "…….. i need to become a vampire brb" bc of that; But he basically kept this habit ever since until his SR. And i just find it sO funny that Tasuku tried to get Hisoka to stop sleeping and help out and Hisoka chooses violence instead. He's such a little shit he's so funny to me. And Tasuku just rolling with it because "well i've been stuck in a timeloop so it might as well happen" is so so funny to me. We managed to tame Tasuku into accepting the wildest of shit. god i love them so much.
Sakuya talking about Citron like he's dead fr. BUT YEAAAH ZAFRA! AND DLKJFDKLFJ DYEAH RIGHT. Guy: i'm a criminal // Chikage and Hisoka, with their fake IDs and actual criminal records: wow sucks to be you i guess. Itaru is so right about calling Chikage a menace. Chikage is one. fully.
Izumi's "i do not see" is SO FUNNY YEAH. It's her life now.
And you're so right about the Winter's structure. I think it really helped that well, dealing with Guy's problems is already a way to sum up how far they've come. Like… when Azami was going through his issues, he wasn't really communicating them and Autumn didn't know how to get him to communicate it, so they all shared their personal lives with Azami so Azami would make his own conclusions and all. But for Guy Winter mostly just learnt directly from how they helped each other out to help him instead so it's where the progress is seen, more subdued. But yeah, unlike say, Summer where everyone had a big plot to go through, Winter doesn't have that because it's been a bit spread out. Which i think fits them well. Winter isn't the type to make a big deal out of their own things, so everyhting kinda just happens around them. Act 1 only had them do big things because supernatural intervention happened. but it really helped the actual drama of the event to set in. I think this chapter had a huge task to make Citron be as important to its chapter than Hisoka was to Spring, while also having him absent most of the chapter. As such it needed more time to breath for Guy to really reflect on his past with Citron and stuff.
ooooh good catch!
nods yeah… And RIGHT i almost mentioned "i'm sure i saw Tangerine being fully compared to Muku" in the prev ask before it hit me it probably happened after lmao, but yeah!! it really is just that Citron saw his precious little brother in Muku and immediately became overprotective. Tangerine is so good so cute!! also as a result the fact Guy keeps calling Muku "Little Prince" because he sees Tangerine in him too? so adorable to me. Tsuzuru also not being able to help himself correcting Tangerine's japanese was very precious yeah in that regard. the Citron impulse too strong. As for the Zafra political drama yeah i agree, it was a bit "gotta wrap it up" type of ending lmao. fixing it with HCs is a good plan though fully.
Chekhov's chandelier indeed….. it's indeed very POTO in that sense. but YEAH SAKUYA SAVING THE DAY. BABY. THAT4S OUR BOY!!!!! It's exactly what he wanted like. he was inspired to do theater because of the pirate play that had to improvise evacuating people during a fire drill -- being able to do just that also during a fire drill must have been really the moment for Sakuya to come full circle. (THAT'S OUR BOY INDEED YOUR NOTES ARE SO RIGHT)
And god right. I love this bit so much. Citron just missing his family so much. The actual danger of it all; Chikage taking all the danger to himself, as redemption as well. The fact Tsuzuru is being considered a kid for once (especially after hearing how his brother left him to take all sort of adults responsibilities, i think it really makes it come full circle that in that moment even Itaru, who heard about that, stepped up to have Tsuzuru leave this responsibility behind for once and let the adults do the work instead). And god Itaru. His involvement there is so much. he would never have done anything that dangerous before, but now that it's all about protecting his family who cares. And besides Chikage can murder people he'll be fine. And yeah same, i don't like projecting Found Family's title on people and all but there's a couple exception: Sakyo and Omi being Dad and Mom (as per Yuki and Taichi always insisting and the fact they both answer to their given title like that), and the weird convoluted family dynamic of Spring (because they just love to play those up so much). Like, in the end also, the reality is that those titles don't fit them that much -- but it's a private joke in between them so it's fun to indulge. Dad and grandad on their way to save mom let's go.
Itaru and Chikage's dynamic was so so fun. They're really roommates in a deep way but i love the way Itaru is just getting used to Chikage's rascal ways like that while Chikage is really just unable to get rid of Itaru so now he has no choice but to get used to it. The close your eyes scene is SO FUNNY, the "physically or mentally to your crimes" is one of my favorite line it's just so on point. Itaru is too used to this bullshit. "might as well happen" type.
oghh Chikage…….; sighs lovingly he's so good isn't he. and yea his voice. so good.
CITRON'S REUNION YESS. Sakuya who's been already always left behind by all the family members who took him in, finally making himself a found family, and legit everyone almost leaving him at some point (except Tsuzuru)…. no wonder he cried when Citron was finally back. It's probably the last straw at this point for him. God. Family. And GOD Guy's quote as he talks with Citron. Crying.
Spring being so, so determined to talk about how they're really a family just keeps making me cry. Like, they really saw themselves as each other's family… ironically in the anime, when Citron and Izumi run away from the people that were sent after Citron, Citron does add a line about how in a way, he kinda hopes the troupe could become his family…. and the Ending song for Spring, Home, is also really about "and this home maybe could become a family" and it makes me cry: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lM_rHEFJ3ME But them talking about the end of the company just makes me so unwell. A3en ending really ended up making all of that so, so hard to swallow sobs.
SO GLAD you liked the ending. Now you know everything you need to know before the events ;D and yeah, i think Azuma was the one to do the make up without Azami around. he probably knows a thing or two so it helps out ;D
Tumblr media
there's a couple things linked to the events, else i also did the mistake to tag my dgm posts with massive spoilers with kiri dont look so it might still be a landmine...
i can delete the tag from the dgm tags so it can make it easier for you? but yeah else some events are in the way
anyway as always i'm so glad to have been able to read your thoughts <333 so glad you had fun and so glad you get to know the whole cast now. they're so sweet, always........
Take care and see you around ;D

A3! reading club: Act One (chapter 7-12)
Tumblr media
I have tears in my eyes, too, Izumi.
The thing is, Itaru calling attention to the fact that it's getting late and some people have school/ work tomorrow is responsible, just also motivated by self-interest. Which isn't a bad thing. I don't fault him for not being willing to work OT when they're not getting paid to begin with (I. Don't want to think about the logistics of Mankai technically being a business that relies on "found family vibes" to overwork the employees. They run on smurf rules, ok ;-;). And we're kicking off the running theme of Itaru purposefully isolating himself from the rest of the crew now too.
Tumblr media
I can't believe NOBODY thought to check up on Tsuzuru for a whole WEEK what is wrong with y'all.
Tumblr media
Also starting the trend of of Tsuzuru writing bromances that put the writers of the Supernatural finale to shame. I've seen multiple queer readings of his character because of this, whether it's Closeted Gay, Bisexual And Figuring Things Out, or Aromantic In Desperate Search Of Meaningful Close Platonic Relationships In Fiction, and they're all very valid.
Tumblr media
Once again we see Sakuya being hesitant, this time over being appointed the lead role. "I can just be the background tree" sweetie, there's five of you, you are GOING to have a speaking role. The thing is, he's not stupid! He's aware that he sucks! But having someone else put their faith in him means he NEEDS to do a good job now. It's a blessing and a curse, and it'll come back to bite later.
Tumblr media
Itaru's deep dark secret revealed: He's a gamer.
I'm sorry, in context it's perfectly reasonable, and makes his character that much more interesting. But also. He's a gamer. That's the big, dark secret they were dropping hints at.
Tumblr media
I'M SORRY IZUMI. HE'S A GAMER. THAT'S INCURABLE.
Tumblr media
Masumi: What, like it's hard?
At this point it feels like the constant pointing out of how good Masumi is at everything acting-related is trying to make up - or at least distract from - his...personality flaws. Like the writers realized they had to make him somewhat likeable and landed on this as a result? Either way, it makes for a good contrast between the two of them. Sakuya has less natural talent but the willingness to work hard, Masumi has lots of talent and very little desire to put in effort (unless the Director's involved).
On the other hand, the way he gets irritated at the others for not being as good as him indicates that he wants this play to go off successfully. He just has atrocious interpersonal skills.
Tumblr media
"Oh, wow, these vibes are wack. I'm gonna go play Fortnite."
Tumblr media
Citron's sharp enough to observe the exact game, gear, and level Itaru's at, but as soon as he's met with the slightest hint of suspicion he immediately backs off and cracks a joke about it.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
December hated working for the organization, but it wasn’t like he had another choice but to stay with them. He would forever be thankful to August for reaching a hand down and saving him. It had been a cold winter day and December had just fingered that his time was finally up.
December had long gotten used to the cold that seemed to surround his life wherever he went. From the cold stares of the nuns that cared for him to the cool air that circulated through the halls of the old church. There was only so much of that he was willing to take, and he ran away. The snow he had been laying in before August came into his life was familiar. August was something warm. Something that December didn’t want to lose.
For someone so warm December thought that things with August would be different. There were moments that distracted December from his true reality. Whether they be the heated arguments with April or August's terrible cooking that was almost always too burnt to be considered edible. December enjoyed them all. It made him feel warm and forget the cold that constantly threatened to slip deep within his heart. He could ignore the organization as long as he could continue these small moments with his family. But as always, all good things would have to eventually come to an end.
December could see the toll the organization work was having on his family; he noticed it in himself as well. Cracks were forming in the one place December could consider peaceful. He didn’t like it one bit. There wasn’t anything to help bring light back in April’s eyes or relieve the pressure August was receiving from the higher ups. December was stuck. It was best to pretend that things were fine until they weren’t, and everything that they eventually built up came crashing down.
It wasn’t like the organization cared what happened to them. Just that they were reliable and efficient. He could feel this heart slowly become colder as the days passed. December was a fitting name for someone like him. It seemed that the warmth he craved wasn’t worth wasting on someone like him.
It only took a single mission gone bad for everything to finally reach its breaking point. August had been shot. December didn’t want to lose the one person that had shown him that he was worthy of living after being discarded by most in his life. He could live without him. August had forced something down his throat.
August cradled December's face within his hands.
“From now on you are Mikage Hisoka. Please live your life to the fullest.”
December, well he guessed he was Hisoka now, felt himself fall. Cold air rushed past him until he hit the even colder ocean below.
Where did it all go wrong?
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
Hisoka wasn’t all that close with the other members of Mankai outside of his own troupe. He was still friendly with them, but that really wasn’t saying a whole lot. Many of them were too noisy for his own liking. Many of them being younger than him also didn’t help. That was another thing he liked about winter; they were all adults.
Hisoka felt his heart ache at the thought of the word winter. He didn’t remember much, but whatever had happened had to be related to that season in one way or another. He felt a phantom coolness settle itself in his heart. He cared for winter and the other members of Mankai, but there was something that was missing. Something that was preventing himself from being completely vulnerable around them.
Hisoka decided that it wasn’t worth it to try and force himself to remember information. He was starting to feel sleepy anyways. His room wasn’t an option at the moment as Alice was on one of his many poetry tangents, speaking to no one. He didn’t seem to care if Hisoka wasn’t really listening to his “genius prose.” Hisoka didn’t have the energy to try and tune him out and decided that the kitchen or courtyard would be a good alternative to the room he wasn’t keen on being in.
He didn’t think Alice noticed his absence, and if he did, he didn’t comment on it. Hisoka slowly made his way down the hallway. He could hear voices, and as he got closer, he could make out a good portion of summer hanging out. They were good kids, just not the people Hisoka wanted to deal with when he was already so tired. Offering them a lazy wave and a yawn he continued his short journey to the kitchen. He’d rather not fall asleep in the hallway again. Hisoka knew from past experience that it wasn’t all that comfortable.
Entering the kitchen, Hisoka made his way to the cupboards where he knew Alice had tried to hide his secret stash of marshmallows. Picking up a bag and opening it, Hisoka snacked on them until he reached his ideal nap spot on the couch. As much as he enjoyed the various pillows of the other Mankai members, many of them moved too much or were too noisy. The couch stayed still and was quiet.
He noticed that he wasn’t the only one using the couch as a napping spot. Itaru sat on the other end with his phone hanging loosely in his grip. Hisoka could hear music softly playing from the phone speaker, he assumed it to be one of the many games that Itaru played. Hisoka wasn’t unfamiliar with seeing Itaru like this, but he was usually in what Itaru called his so-called “gamer mode.” It was weird to see Itaru disheveled like this while still in his work clothes, but that wasn’t a Hisoka problem. He finished what remained of his bag of marshmallows and placed the empty bag on the coffee table in front of it. Hisoka had held off on his nap long enough and let his eyelids close. Quietly drifting off to sleep.
After some time, Hisoka was stirred awake by the couch moving under him. He was a bit annoyed that he was woken up from his nap and tried to fall back into sleep before it left him completely. The couch movies again from under him. Hisoka had a critical thought that the couch shouldn’t be moving and tiredly opened his eye to see the source of the disturbance. He wasn’t faced with the material of the couch and instead the fabric of a suit pants. Slowly Hisoka raised his gaze to meet Itaru’s. It seemed that he had noticed Hisoka stirring and looked down from his phone. It was playing the same soft music from earlier.
“I didn’t mean to wake you,” Itaru stated. “You looked peaceful and all sleeping, but my legs were starting to go numb.”
Hisoka noticed a small blush dusting Itaru’s cheeks. Hisoka didn’t know what Itaru’s issue was and was too sleepy to think about it. Making himself comfortable again he closed his eyes again.
“Be quiet. You were a nicer pillow before you started talking. So noisy.”
Letting out a final yawn, Hisoka slipped into the sandman’s grasp. He was going to ignore the small amount of warmth seeping into his heart. Hisoka smiled softly as he finally lost consciousness.
Itaru’s face was cute like that.

A3! Reactions to the A3eng!news
Sakuya has been smiling even brighter since you all got the news. He has to, right? So he does his best. He works, and practices, and treasures the last shows you all put together -the pain becomes duller that way, somehow. Sakuya’s determined to see you off with a smile, even when he feels the first tears beginning to drop. Because if he has been able to find happiness, it’s because of you.
Masumi is silent scary, and barely acknowledges anything even remotely related to the subject. “I’m never saying goodbye” ,“I’m staying” he grumbles like a statement he will devote himself to. No one makes any comment about it, much less you. Instead, you smile. And Masumi won’t admit it, but while beautiful as always, for the first time, he doesn’t like that smile.
Tsuzuru tries to be there for the young ones. He’s also giving his all into writing the last scripts before everything happens. He thinks he’s got it together -that he can keep the sadness at bay by drowning into work- but from time to time he has to stop and exhale to not let emotions run over him. They all got to do their best for you. He’s gotta do his best for you.
Itaru leaves the console and leans back on his chair, eyes closed, tired from not thinking about it. It’s not the end of the world, he tells himself, you already know where they all will be. But then you knock on the door, calling for him to come out and have dinner -and it clicks. Because he has gotten used to your presence -not in a similar place- but here. And he doesn’t know what to make of that feeling.
Citron doesn’t mention anything. Not really, because he understands. He knows the empty feeling of leaving home against one’s will. That’s why he tries to light up the tension whenever the issue comes up, and why his grammar mistakes begin to get so silly that even you can’t help but laugh. And that’s when his eyes soften. Because the sound makes it a little easier to smile.
Chikage closes his computer and pinches the bridge of his nose letting out a sigh. For some reason, he can’t concentrate. He should be used to goodbyes by now, but knowing someone isn't coming back doesn't mean you ever stop waiting, he realizes as he stands up and leaves the room. Maybe you two can play some last tricks before you go.
Tenma tries to be collected in front of you, shrugging it off and insisting it’s just a small step. That you will still be able to see them, he will make sure of it. You thank him with a smile that makes his eyes burn. He scolds himself mentally. He’s Sumeragi Tenma. He’s the leader of the Summer Troupe. And he definitely, definitely can’t break before you do.
Kazunari does his best to ignore it, to pretend nothing has changed. That’s his intention at least. As soon as the news comes out not a single day passes without him taking a selfie with you. Recording all your jokes. Conversations. Laughs. How he wishes he would have tried everything on this earth with you before leaving.
Misumi doesn’t understand why they are leaving. You are all family, shouldn’t you come too then? When he learns you might have difficulties reaching where they are going he inevitably pouts. Because it’s always better when you are with them, but most of all, he doesn’t want to say goodbye to someone precious to him again.
Muku doesn’t want to be a bother, and does well to ignore the thought of them all moving without you to another place -except when he doesn’t. Because he’s still one of the youngest, and emotions tend to overflow more often than not. His vision gets blurry, so he stops in the middle of the hall and sniffs quietly. How he wishes he could princely take you away with them.
Yuki is realistic. It’s sad, sure, but it’s not like you are not going to see each other again. Still, there’s a lingering feeling on his chest -one he absolutely chooses to not pay attention to- because nothing good will come out of it. Maybe he should make you something. It’s been a while after all, nothing else. He can already imagine your excited face, yet for some reason his heartthrobs.
Kumon has been feeling anxious, even though he has put all his acting knowledge to do his best to not worry you -or anyone for that matter. Too soon. Everything was going too fast. You were supposed to help them grow in order to become better actors, right? You all were supposed to stay together, and there’s just so much he still wanted to experience with you.
Banri bites the inside of his cheek while walking on the streets at night, wishing to punch something -anything- just to destress. He’s annoyed, angry with the news, news he has made clear and sound his opinion about even when he got scolded on the way. What a load of crap. What, after helping him find his passion you leave? Just like that? No. No fucking way.
Sakyo repeats to himself that he has to be the stable one. The rational one. The one who grounds the rest amid the chaos. He’s used to giving things up after all, yet every time he makes eye contact with you, he’s not so sure he’ll ever get used to this one thing. Laughable, really. He takes off his glasses and rubs his face. Damn he wishes he could wake up.
Juza looks at the ceiling of his room in silence. The place they are gonna stay is practically the same, you have told them, more opportunities even. But you are the one who allowed him to enter into this world, and no matter how many times he hears it he won’t understand. You should be the first one to be there with them, not the last one saying goodbye.
Taichi becomes louder and more energetic than ever. He does his best to try and forget what’s about to happen, especially when the feeling in his chest becomes too much to bear. Because if he doesn’t his mind reels over him, and then he will have to explain to you the cause of his swollen eyes is the river of tears he let out in the middle of the night.
Omi cooks. He cooks and cooks every single thing you have ever mentioned liking. He wants to make you the happiest while you are here. To enjoy what little time you have together. Yet when he gazes upon your profile with the utmost affection, his jaw also tightens. Because there is no way he’s gonna be okay missing that smile of yours greeting him every day.
Azami tries to keep his mind off the news -there’s no dwelling on the fact that it will happen. However there are times when he’s in the courtyard, in the practice room, even in the hall, where he notices your familiar fragrance. Thing is, they are always out of the blue, and he has to stop for a few seconds to compose himself, leaving a few curses on the way.
Homare’s poems have been coming in millions, as if there’s a need to share as much as he can before the time comes. He knows things are not going to be the same, but you have helped him love himself more than he ever imagined and it just seems unfair to let you go this way.
Azuma wanders around the dorm in the middle of the night, taking everything in. He touches the walls, hears the crickets in the distance, and glances into the direction of your room, lips turning into a thin line. Just like everyone, your presence has become an essential part for him, and it will be difficult to get used to not finding you around.
Tasuku breathes heavily, closing the door of the entrances after his morning run. He’s about to go to his room when he hears you moving around the kitchen -because by now he knows it’s you- and he stops in his tracks. It’s going to be hard to get used to not talking as much to you as usual, and part of him wishes he could have made plays that gained more people for you to stay.
Hisoka feels numb, as if he can already feel the distance. It carries a weight that's heavier than anything. He opens his eyes as he hears your voice walking up to him to wake him up. He doesn’t want to say goodbye, he concurs. More fervently than anything, he wishes you didn’t have to let go.
Guy blinks. The feeling is straight-up heart-clenching, and the adults have had their fair share of comments regarding this. Inevitable. Unavoidable. His mouth twitches. He closes his eyes and tries to engrave you in his memory one more time. He has learned a lot thanks to you, and that in itself is a tremendous thing. He only wishes he could have kept walking this journey with you.
Tsumugi looks at the garden and crouches, biting his lip. He has done his best not to seem distressed, but it’s been difficult as the date gets closer and closer. He turns to the flower that has your name, and caresses each of its petals, leaving gently afterwards. How he wishes you could stay with them.
Because you helped them all bloom, and it was only fair that you did too.
Soft version here 🌸🔆🍁❄

🌸 Itaru Chigasaki Appreciation Post 🌸
Tumblr media
Ah yes Itaru, one of the few characters who probably understands our gacha pains! Already very relatable 👌 Like the other some spoilers for Act 2 specifically the Knights of the Round story event
♡ Itaru has a very cool design, I really love his hairstyle it's very stylish! Definitely makes sense that so many people call him handsome, I can definitely see why!
♡ I thought his double lifestyle was very interesting, I'm always interested in those characters for some reason? I just like seeing how different his public face is compared to what he's like away from the public - I feel like I personally can somewhat relate in a way as well as many others, maybe not to Itaru's extreme but I'm definitely very different in public compared to when I'm by myself or just at home
♡ I personally find him the funniest in the Spring Troupe, he's a very fun character for me to read. Like it's so weird seeing him in his professional clothes for me speaking in this gamer slang, it just looks kind of funny to me
♡ I liked learning about his backstory like how he wasn't particularly popular because of his bad athletic skills but ended up becoming more popular after changing his character which quickly went downhill after Tonooka his old friend told his new friends about what Itaru was really like
♡ Then how he ended up developing into a person who loved acting so much that he cried during their first show (I think it was, memory is a little fuzzy when it was?) despite only originally joining Mankai to have a room to himself
♡ On top of that I love reading his and Izumi's interactions (probably one of my favourite troupe members interaction with Izumi along with Sakyo and Tsumugi), they're always a ton of fun to read!
♡ Talking about Tsumugi I really like watching them interact as well, they're like such an unlikely pair in my opinion to be friends but they make it work! Partly why I really liked the One Day Princess event. I also like how he advised Banri when he first joined Mankai about his effort in acting as he was basically like Banri when he also first joined. So yeah Itaru has very fun interactions!
♡ I love that he was originally during the Knights of the Round play was going to reveal that he was Taruchi to help get Hoshi's approval despite how hard he tries to keep his public life and private life apart. It just showed how much he cared about doing this, that he was even risking revealing something that he's been so careful about for years.
♡ Find it kind of cool also that his username is a mixture of his first name and surname. iTARU CHIgasaki. I only realised that not too long ago and I thought it was creative haha

Delayed Career Plan
Wherein learning takes on many forms, and carving out your own path in life is okay, too.
There was one time that the Yosei boys barely ate breakfast since they had major exams in the morning. Since Izumi was worried about them not taking care of themselves, she made bentos for them and asked Sakuya to deliver it to them since he was on a day-off. Though he didn't know the campus that well, Sakuya didn't mind that and went over to Yosei.
Sakuya thought it was strange that the guard didn't stop him, but he went ahead and went to the place where the three hung out. As he walked through campus, many clubs and student organizations reached out to him and basically invited him to their group. After the nth time it happened, Sakuya wondered if he looked that much of a student. Yes, he didn't opt to go to college, but he really did blend in regardless.
When he finally handed over their lunch, Tsuzuru and Omi let out a laugh at his story. Tsuzuru asked what course would Sakuya take if he decided to go to college, and Sakuya said that it would be theater or something related to it. Juza smiled at that and said that he can help out Sakuya if he ever decides to take the same course as Juza is taking.
Another time was with AmaBi. Banri and Kazunari invited them to their school fair, and they did a few etudes to help attract visitors to this one booth. Once again, Sakuya kept getting mistaken as a student, and even Banri's theater course adviser was surprised that Sakuya didn't decide to go to college, especially with how spirited and skilled he was at theater.
The theater adviser insisted that Sakuya could definitely get into AmaBi's theater program, and that he could get into the scholarship program if he wanted. Though he really did want to ask more about the theater course's scholarship, Sakuya just said that he's flattered but he'll think about it.
Of course, even if Masumi is in college in Year 3, some things never change (read: he still can't get up early). Occasionally, Sakuya will walk with him to Fuyou when his part-time is in the area. He's mistaken as Masumi's big brother, and some of Masumi's classmates who think he's cute ask about Sakuya. They honestly think Sakuya's in college, so they're shocked to hear when he's working.
Though Sakuya doesn't think about it too much, he does wonder what could've been if he decided to go to college. He knows that the adults in Mankai (Itaru, Chikage, Citron, Sakyo, Homare, Azuma) would be willing to cover his school fees, but it just doesn't feel right to him. Sakuya already knew that his relatives wouldn't be willing to support him after he graduated, so he's pretty much resigned himself to working after graduation.
Despite the fact that he decided not to go to college, Sakuya is so grateful that he still gets to hear everyone's college stories because it still feels like he's not that far from them. The others let him read their course books, so he still learns, even if informally. Not to mention the fact that they always invite him to school events where visitors are allowed in the campus! That way, Sakuya won't feel left out.
I like to think that when he does decide to go to college, he consults the Mankai adults then his former school counselor (I forgot his name but he's the counselor guy in Uraomote) since he was pretty worried about Sakuya too. The counselor probably knew about his family situation, so he looked out for Sakuya too. He also gets a scholarship too! I also remember someone on twt saying that he could join Azami and Yuki in AmaBi and I am so fond of that idea. :D

A3! If they were Youtubers: A thread:
Randomly talked about this with a friend during my stream today lol:
Sakuya:
Going to different Plays, telling you to check them out!
Vlogs of going to practice/getting ready for spring troupes plays
Hanging out with those in Mankai + Kamekichi makes appearances too lol.
Masumi:
May not be a YouTuber to be honest, he doesn’t really like getting attention.
If he were to be one, all his videos would be about you (the director) but he would never show your face on camera/blur your face because he doesn’t want anyone else to see your beautiful face!
Tsuzuru:
Probably too shy (and tired) to want to be a youtuber.
Plus he’s too busy taking care of his brothers/writing plays/acting to be a youtuber!
The only way I see him actually being in a video is on Citron’s channel doing a Manzai act lol.
Itaru:
I mean, gaming videos pretty much.
Would mostly be a streamer, instead of a youtuber. He’d probably be lazy to edit videos tbh lol.
Gaming with Banri and Citron a lot
Citron:
Learning Japanese with Citron! (Getting some phrases/words wrong pretty much though lol).
Storytimes about his time in Zafra.
Manzai acts with Tsuzuru!
Gaming videos + gaming with Itaru!
Vlogs about going to different places in Japan.
Dancing videos!
Would probably be down for any type of content! (Challenges, Try not to laugh, how to videos, mukbangs etc.)
Chikage:
Curry reviews, like his blog “Chliausa’s Spicy blogs”
I fee like other than curry reviews, he wouldn’t really do YouTube. But maybe he might react/Critique different videos on YouTube. (Would mostly roast the video/people in video if it’s “dumb” lol).
Tenma:
Vlogs. I mean he’s already famous, who wouldn’t want to see him vlog?
“How to care for your Bonsai tree” videos.
Getting lost in most of his videos. (Getting lost will be an everyday thing lol)
Shopping videos + with Banri sometimes
Yuki:
OOTD / OOTW videos.
Clothing hauls + collabs with Banri.
“How to style” + fashion videos
DIYS: How to design outfits/how to sew, lace knitting/needle felting etc.
Showing off the cute things he finds + shows you where he bought them.
Muku:
Shojo manga reviews! + sometimes with Sakyo (this will be the only way Sakyo will appear on Camera, since I doubt he’d upload YouTube videos himself!)
Vlogs! Hanging out with his troupe members & Juza/Kumon most of the time!
Chocolate mukbangs with Juza! Maybe even reviews different chocolate desserts.
I can see him making a video of him visiting a cat cafe with Misumi/Hisoka/Kazu. It’d be cute (:
Misumi:
Triangle hunting videos!
Showing his triangle collection and where he found them + triangle hauls & shows you where you can find them.

Videos of him trying out different activities/sports.
Banri:
How to be a fuck boy… lol I’M KIDDING.
Gaming videos + with Itaru

Trying to do prank videos on Juza.
Would legit try anything and be good at it. (Ex: He played Tennis for the first time and won every game against those who’ve played for years)
Vlogging his super ultra easy mode life.
Juza:
I know he tries to hide his love for sweets and candy, but let’s pretend he doesn’t. Dessert Mukbangs!
Trying different desserts from stores/restaurants etc. Would probably like to try different desserts from other countries.
He is pretty shy, so I don’t know if he would vlog or not.
Taichi:
Would make a video of anything to be honest. Like I think he’d make videos of whatever is trending.
Lots of Q&A’s because I feel like he’d love to talk to his subscribers!
Would probably always be vlogging!
Skateboarding videos.
Showing off cool yo-yo tricks.
Origami tutorials!
Omi:
Cooking videos for sure. + has Juza as taste tester for when he makes desserts!
Handcraft tutorials + collabs with Yuki sometimes.
Photography tip videos!
Sakyo:
Probably wouldn’t be a youtuber. He’d be like “I Ain’t doing that crap”
I feel like the only way he’d be in a video is if someone from Mankai includes him in a video.
Where would you see Sakyo in videos? On Sakoda’s channel! Lmao. Imagine Sakoda’s video titles like: “On the job with the boss,” “Hanging out with the boss,” “Running errands for the boss” and Sakyo would be like “get that camera out of my face!”

So i wasn't specifically going to tackle it in depth and just wanted to reblog one of my old posts about it, but no matter the keywords i typed on my tumblr the search didn't seem to work out as expected. So here i am rambling again about the same thesis i've been rambling about for years. Old followers can skip that unless you love the Itaru pain that much.
......
And i’ve ended up being ways too long about it.
But ultimately the ending of the Spring chapter and what really culminate with Itaru's arc is the feeling of being Supported for once and not having to be self reliant.
Itaru has for formative experience an extreme betrayal that made him lose faith in ever being able to connect with people and be vulnerable again. Trust, and thinking he had found someone he could properly relate to, set him up to a disaster when this trust was given to the wrong person who specifically used his knowledge of his weaknesses to hurt him. Specifically, using the way he knew Itaru was masking his weaknesses and exposed it to the public to humiliate him.
So ofcourse he wants to protect himself from it happening ever again, thus he hides his passions, the stuff that matters to him, all that jazz. He doesn't believe he can relate to people, but it comes from a place of hurt of more like, if he can, this will bring him more pain than what it's worth. By extention he doesn't believe he can rely on people because of how deeply this pain goes.
By the time he meets the Spring Troupe, he’s been on this mindset for so long it’s just normal to him. He doesn’t have to question why he has those mechanisms, it is just how life is. And it’s mechanical, he doesn’t specifically think about what he’s doing.
But the Troupe discovers his secret and they’re all pretty chill about it, with Citron especially connecting with him as a fellow gamer. Sakuya’s unbound enthusiasms rubs off on everyone. And Itaru realizes he’s a dead weight and he feels just enough for the Troupe that he doesn’t want to impose them that, while also starting to be scared about how much it worries him.
Because he can’t rely on anyone ever again right? This is the one thing he manages to connect back to his trauma. He cannot rely on them, nor relate to them. Not in the sense of he’s not able to, but that he shouldn’t, because he knows what happened last time.
And when the Troupe manages to convince him to stay for a bit, he acknowledges that! he acknowledge that maybe he could let down the walls he know he had set up because of that incident.
But that’s the thing with coping mechanisms, most of them are not exactly something that are processed consciously. They’re ways your mind protect you from reliving situations it knows had hurt you.
And i think that, for all he thought he was willing to do the effort and let his guard down and let himself rely on the Troupe again, unconsciously he was still battling against that. Like he would be waiting for the other shoe to drop, that it’s too good to be true.
When his foot starts hurting, Itaru is probably only consciously thinking about how he doesn’t want to worry anyone and he can bear the pain all alone for everyone. He can just bear it in silence. He’s good at keeping up appearances, he can do it.
But subconsciously i think a part of him could still hold back on the idea that he cannot rely on them, because if he does, disaster is going to strike, eventually. Not because of the Troupe itself - because he values them better than that at this point - but it’s a situation in which disaster strikes.
P O I N T IS, it’s why Sakuya saving him changes everything. I’ve mentioned especially this liveblog, Itaru actively participate more and more in the play without specifically realizing he’s caring much more than he pretends he does. He doesn’t realize that it changed yet, that he’s connecting with the troupe much more deeply, that he’s enjoying staying at their side maybe more than playing games.
But then Itaru “fails” on stage. He didn’t manage to cover up for his weakness and now he left himself exposed, and would drag the troupe with him because of it. Because he was too self reliant and all of that.
In a way, it mirrors the past situation: his “mask” of pretending to be okay has fallen, his weakness is for all the public to see, and the humiliation he once had known is not only going to hit him, but also the troupe he’s come to care and love.
And instead Sakuya rescues him. Sakuya supports him.
Obviously i don’t think Itaru expected any of them to backstab him, he knows them better than that, he values them better than that. But it’s what i’m going with when i’m talking about his subconscious reactions. Like his mind would be much more prepared to “we’ve been there before. the shoe is going to drop and it’s going to hurt.”
But it doesn’t drop. It’s caught.
Confronted to, in substance, the same situation that led him to close himself up to the world, Itaru was welcomed by Sakuya giving him unconditional support. Finding a way to hide the weakness, make it all part of a plan, and manage to have them shine instead on Stage by managing through the pain and coming out of it stronger than before.
So comes the euphoria. the expectations reversed. The one thing Itaru was protecting himself from would never happen again because he has people to catch him and support him unconditionally.
And he had buried his feelings so deeply, convinced himself to only be the solo player, that he didn’t realize until this moment how much euphoria it would be to accept people in again and to know he’s supported through anything.
And i think it’s the important part of Itaru’s arc as it reflects on his future behavior. We see him go from more solo, self reliant stuff, to relying on others around him. It shows directly with his gaming: his song mentions how he’s only a Solo player, yet the moment he meets Banri, he jumps on how Banri can help him going further in a campaign. He doesn’t even hesitate before relying on him.
then we see Itaru being, especially, someone people can rely on. He extends his help whenever he can (from the kids he tutors, to helping Tsumugi’s acting, to lecturing Banri), he feels genuinely bad when he fails to be reliable (the whole Into The Night event) and would do anything to fix it.
One thing that i remember really getting to me was also in One Day Princess and Meet Me By the Milky Way where, in both event, Itaru saves the day by his ad lib when things suddenly go badly. In ODP the lead actor Itaru is supposed to act against is unable to be on stage for the strong begining of the show, so Itaru improvises a complete new show to stall for time. in MMBTMW, the lead actor runs off midplay and every other actors are startled and don’t know what to do, and it’s Itaru who immediately manages to improvise, specifically in ways that would have the others actors focus on his adlibbing and therefore refocus the whole play.
Those are all results, directly, of what he learns from Sakuya that day on stage. the Show Must Go On also inspires Itaru and, especially as Spring Troupe is concerned, he ends up being one of the ones, along with Sakuya, who understands this idea the most and knows how to put it to use.
Because it’s about relying on others, on trusting them on following your pace, it’s on supporting them when all go south. Like he once was supported, like the Euphoria he experienced on stage that day, thanks to Sakuya.
So yeah, of course, that’s only my interpretation of it all but if anything, in term of learning how to rely on others, Itaru’s arc is really high on the list because of how much of his backstory is based on this betrayal that left him to be careful around others, and now, he helps and he trusts recklessly, because he knows he found the exact people that makes it worthwhile.
Better than gaming, for sure.

spoilers for a3! act 2 and the spring/winter troupe training camp! Also, I’m going to be critical of Masumi, but I still care for my son a lot.
I was honestly very disappointed with the spring/winter event... I had really hoped we could see a new side to Masumi! When Masumi was constantly worrying over his phone, I thought he was waiting for a call from his dad, or his grandma. And when Hisoka notices, I thought it could have been a touching moment where Hisoka comforts Masumi, or bonds with him; they could have a very fun relationship! Hisoka is really laidback and has his own Family Issues tm, so he could contrast with Masumi, who’s a lot more passionate and intense, but still struggles with problems with his own family. It would have been sweet to see Hisoka step up to take care of someone younger than him, considering he’s usually more passive than everyone else. Not only that, they could relate to each other over their complicated family lives, and the fact they’ve both found family at Mankai. The fact Masumi ended up being worried over being Izumi’s first instablam like felt like a wasted opportunity, even if it was funny at first.
After all, while Mankai embodies found family, Spring Troupe especially leans into it! Sakuya, who has never had a family who cared for him, Masumi, who has a distant relationship with his parents, Tsuzuru, who was a big brother before he was allowed to be his own person, Itaru, who never had anyone who he could be himself around, Citron, who loves his family but is constantly at odds with them due to throne succession issues, and Chikage, who had lost his family and resented the lone surviving member, Hisoka, for a long time. They all feel like misfits who find a home in each other!
Masumi’s character is also the least developed out of every character, because he’s always bogged down by his obsession with Izumi. His obsession is treated as a joke, but the way he treats her makes me extremely uncomfortable. Not only that, Masumi’s relationships with other characters is hampered because he, more often than not, just acts very jealous towards their relationship with Izumi instead of getting actual development with them. I would have preferred more moments like in Act 2, where we get to see more of Masumi’s backstory, and explore his character apart from his obsession with Izumi. Masumi also loves spring troupe and mankai company, too, something I feel like is often overlooked.
My overall point is that Masumi deserves a better treatment from the narrative!

itaru + love confession headcanons.
Tumblr media
another repost, this time for a3! i really enjoyed typing this up, so i couldn’t let it collect dust on my old blog :^) basically, these are headcanons for how itaru would confess his feelings. fairly straightforward!
it’s your relentless drive that first captures his attention. as director, you have a lot riding on your shoulders, yet you carry that weight with little complaint. it’s clear you care deeply about the mankai company and your actors; it just takes itaru a while to realize that includes him
he’s never cared for anything like he does for gaming, but he finds his connection to the stage as well as to the spring troupe changing that. it has a lot to do with the passion that the others display for acting, but also thanks to you. your love for the theatre, coupled by your belief in him, endear you to him more than you realize
it takes time for him to recognize what his feelings for you are, though; he writes them off as admiration and gratitude, but that doesn’t explain the irritation he feels when other guys show a not-so-professional interest in you
figuring out he’s jealous is just the first step. he doesn’t plan to do anything about it, but you’re gaining new suitors by the week, and he realizes that he doesn’t want to watch you eventually fall for someone else
he’s lazy, would rather game than socialize, lets opportunities pass him by...but like with acting, itaru wants to pursue this. he wants to find out if he actually has a shot with you
of course, that doesn’t magically result in him sweeping you off your feet. sure, he can manufacture charm, but the problem is that you know who he really is, so it doesn’t work. you think he’s joking or—worse—practicing when he tries to flirt with you
itaru starts taking inspiration from anime, manga, video games, whatever. he’s desperate, okay! and willing to try anything once to see if it works!
not only does he fail spectacularly, but his attempts catch the attention of others in the company. masumi and sakyo are especially disgruntled, and only one of them hides it well; those like sakuya and muku, however, want to help him out
sakuya chats your ear off about itaru’s many good qualities; muku reads shoujo manga cover to cover in order to gain ideas for romantic encounters; homare tries to get him to create and recite terrible poetry; kazunari gives dating advice and tips that he insists will work; misumi tells you that itaru resembles a triangle, which...is supposed to be a compliment? he thinks?
none of their attempts work, either because you’re too oblivious or the ideas are too terrible, yet itaru finds himself thankful all the same. before he joined the mankai company, he didn’t have any close friends, but that’s changed radically. though he still has troubling relating to people, none of them think less of him for it
if it hadn’t been for you asking him to join, and insisting he stick around, his life would’ve remained bland and solitary; instead of all of this making you fall for him, his feelings for you only deepen, until he has to do something about it
in the end, itaru tricks you into going on a date with him. he takes you out to dinner after practice as thanks for your help, then walks with you in a nearby park, before stopping near the theatre and confessing
of course, you immediately think it’s part of a street act; worse, you join in on the “scene,” though your acting hasn’t improved at all in the months that have passed
but your earnest attempt is endearing, just like everything about you is, even your absurd obsession with curry. so itaru steps forward, until your chests are brushing, and tells you he’s going to kiss you. and then he does
when he breaks the kiss, his hands are caressing your cheeks, and your arms are encircling his shoulders. he grins at your shocked, flushed features, saying, “you better not think this is some street act. i don’t kiss just anyone like that.”
and that’s how itaru convinces you to go out with him; it took longer than expected, but he’s starting to learn that the things that matter are worth the extra effort

Thank you for answering! (°▽°)
How much, out of 10, are you of each spring troupe member?
The event just started and I already feel like dying
Also sorry for the late response (^-^;
SUMMER || AUTUMN || WINTER
Mhm mhm!!! Please rest when you can and it's okay!!! BUT OH BOY SPRING NOW THIS'LL BE..... SOMETHING Sakuya: 8/10 Masumi: 1/10 Tsuzuru: 8/10 Itaru: 9/10 Citron: 1/10 Chikage: ???/10 If this takes me forever too then wELP Also, I don't know if I ever said, but the reason I put the "originally -/10" is because I put the initial numbers of what I think they are, and then when I start the analysis, sometimes I'm like "Oh, okay they're a bit higher than I thought".
Sunshine. Smiles. Laughter. That's me because I don't want anyone to worry about me. The "I don't have any problems, anything you want is fine", "if I complain, then I'm afraid of what happens" etc etc etc. I don't like thinking about Sakuya's family problems because it makes me want to kick all of their asses. Also, not spending a bunch of holidays/family type holidays with family, hahahahahaa yeah </333 This is very short, but it's still an 8/10 for Sakuya. Uhhhhhh I don't think I relate much to Masumi??? The only thing really is that I isolated myself on purpose at school, but that's.... kinda it jfkdlhjfdkl So Masumi's only a 1/10. Oh Tsuzuru, where do I even begin with you? Outside of the fact that he had to cook for his family and such, the main thing that I relate to is how he always put everyone before himself because it's been ingrained in him to take care of his brothers. For me, I was always the mediator between my siblings and our mother. If they had a problem with her, then I worked to make sure that the problem gets solved and shit, especially through her stubbornness. Asian moms, am I right? Now, it's much much less happening now, but I'm still the one who mediates. This is also why I have so much of my own shit bottled up, but will it surface? Who knows :3 I hope to god that I don't have someone like Mizuno because I would absolutely be like "Um hey, it's okay, I'm just me, I'm not any different", but I'd also understand if they can't approach me. I almost said I don't bite, but I've bitten so many people today jfdkhldjsfkfdsjvl There's other shit I've mentioned that overlaps with the other charas, but this rounds out Tsuzuru to an 8/10. ITARU OH BUDDY OH PAL I can't say much about him. Mostly because um. the reasons aren't same, but hiding an important part of myself, being afraid of past shit happening again, what's lasting relationships?, keeping my interests to myself but wanting to share it with the world, cursing a previous friend and calling them a dick—Wow! Love it <333 Anyway, if you create a new chara that's just Banri and Itaru then that's just Me. Solid 9/10 for Itaru. I'm not sure if I relate to much with Citron?? Being stuck in one thing for his whole life and wanting to be free from that fate isn't something I struggled with. I guess you could say I relate to him when he wanted to help Guy out by helping him be who is supposed to be. Back to the mediator thing, I always try to make sure that my sibs understand that it doesn't matter what our mom thinks, that what they want for their happiness is way more important than her beliefs. So yeahhhh Still, it's only a 1/10 with Citron. And now, what everyone's been waiting for. Chikage Utsuki. If I were to be honest with all of you, I've already known from the beginning, before I even got back onto tumblr and met most of you, that I could kin him. Like, yes, I write his character a lot and I seemingly understand his character really well. But that's because he's SO SIMILAR TO ME. First off, I have to mention that he's fully middle child energy and hey, guess what? I'm a middle child. If you look back to a lot of my other responses, you'll know that a lot of them link right back to Chikage too and that's the Worst ghfjdkhdjfsklf The reason I don't actually kin him? Well. It kinda hurts to. To see so much of myself in this character that gets A Single Event focused on him, not to mention it involves a major discomfort, if not trigger, of his. To see little to no development and actual happiness funneling into him while everyone around him grows is just. It hurts. But
it's so Chikage. Because it's also on him that he doesn't grow. He doesn't open himself up, he doesn't let himself be vulnerable. He wants to protect everyone and keep everyone happy while neglecting himself completely, and if that ain't just a perfect description of me, then I don't know what is. If I were to speak about Awakening Moon, I'd just like to say that I absolutely felt betrayed by my sibling. Because they knew, from the very beginning, about why our family split apart. I was always told I was too young to know the details, even when I turned the age that my sibling was at when it happened. Was I not allowed to know the truth? Well, I definitely held some resentment for them for being forced completely in the dark by everyone and lied to. But now, would I do whatever it fucking took to make sure my family's happy? Absolutely. Now, I say all these things, but I don't actually get sad or something when y'all call me a Chikage kinnie gjfkdlshjfkdl I think it's really funny and please continue to do it because hey, maybe I actually will one day. This isn't long at all because like I said, I'd already said so much about Chikage already, it's just littered in the other asks as well. But the true number is absolutely exceeding 10/10 for Chikage.

itaru + headcanons for how he would confess.
Tumblr media
i’ve wanted to write for this game for a while now and couldn’t come up with anything. so i ended up whipping up headcanons for one of my faves, itaru. i have shit taste, i know 😌 these were supposed to be relationship headcanons, but as i wrote they gained a life of their own and actually gained some semblance of a plot jsmfdjfj
it’s your relentless drive that captures his attention. as director, you have a lot riding on your shoulders, yet you carry that weight with little complaint. it’s clear you care deeply about the mankai company and your actors; it just takes itaru a while to realize that includes him

of course, that doesn’t magically result in him sweeping you off your feet. sure, he can manufacture charm, but the problem is that you know who he really is, so it doesn’t work. you think he’s joking or, worse, practicing when he tries to flirt with you

none of their attempts work, either because you’re too oblivious or the ideas are too convoluted and bad, yet itaru finds himself thankful all the same. before he joined the mankai company, he didn’t have any close friends, but that’s changed radically. though he still has troubling relating to people, none of them think less of him for it

A3 characters sorted into Mahoyaku Countries/Kingdoms
Tumblr media
If you follow me on twt (@/meclanitea btw), then you’d know how severe my mhyk brainrot is.
So me being me, I just had to sort a3 people into the countries. I have a basic description of each country below but tbh it’s very inadequate if you wanna understand so, like, join me in the mhyk brainrot. I wholeheartedly welcome you xD
So. If anyone has any other opinions, feel free to tell me because I love to talk (obvi hahaha)
Disclaimer: My opinion and all that jazz *jazz hands*. I took liberties for their ages because I could (bc they’re fictional characters :^]). The stories aren’t exactly complete but I’m not really building a full AU so it’s pine. And finally, we don’t really understand wizard genetics since wizards can be born from non-wizards and I’m guessing the other way around happens too? (we only have the flores brothers to go from after all)
Gonna start with the west the counter-clockwise to central
Western Kingdom: The eccentric wizards in love with art and have a unique interest in people
Yuki: Yuki is a west-born wizard and is a tailor. While not particularly interested in people themselves, he's interested in the different cultures and how it relates to clothes-making. He likes people telling him stories and doesn't care if they're made-up as long as he can draw inspiration from them (~early 20s).
Kazunari: Kazu is a south-born wizard who came to the west in his youth. He's an artist by trade and loves to interact with people of all kinds. He draws on the streets and leaves a little magic in his paintings (but not the one he gives to humans as western humans are wary). Back in the south though, they welcome his magical paintings (~60-70s).
Azami: Azami is from a strong family of wizards from the north. His father is the leader of a small but mighty bandit gang, comparable in strength to the legendary bandit leader Bradley. He escaped from the north to pursue his passion in make-up and uses his magic to create make-up with different attributes, as well as those that have different healing effects on the skin (~early 20s).
Misumi: Misumi is from a very isolated eastern family that actually originated from the west. He went back to where his late grandfather came from in hopes to find some peace with his memory. He loves interacting with others and his playful and energetic self is a hit in noble parties. His grandfather used to be a noble as well, but though their riches have stayed, they are not acknowledged by the Eastern Kingdom (~60-70s).
Taichi: A central-born wizard who had dreams of making a name for himself. Since he didn't stand out much despite all his hard work, he decided to start anew in the Western Kingdom and did a make-over with his hair and clothing style (~late 20s).
Homare: A western noble that despite being a wizard, is much loved and well-regarded for his poems. He uses his magic to add theatrics to his poem-readings (~500-600).
North Country: Wizards here are often powerful, isolated, and power-hungry.
Banri: A young wizard who had been powerful since birth. He was born into a long line of village leaders and he has several villages nearby submit to him for protection. Losing to a non-northern wizard, originally a /southerner/ at that really gave his ego a bit hit. (~late 30s)
Hisoka: An orphan wizard that lost his family in his teens (north natural disaster). He was taken in by August, a wizard mercenary for hire, and lived with him and Chikage. He disappears after an attack and is framed for killing his mentor, August. He lost his memories and wandered around the eastern Kingdom until he was found by Azuma. He retrieves his memories soon after being reunited with Chikage (~400-500).
Chikage: An orphan wizard who was taken in by a young August. He lived with August and Hisoka until August was killed and Hisoka disappeared (~400-500 but older than Hisoka).
Eastern Kingdom: Mostly isolated people who warm up once you gain their trust
Azuma: His human family died in a tragic accident when he was young. He moved to the east and keeps his wizard identity a secret. He gives company to the lonely people in the east (~1500).
Masumi: An eastern noble. He grew up under his human grandmother. His parents don't quite understand magic. He’s quite gifted and is pretty well-verse with the forest near his home (~late 20s).
Itaru: A toy maker who does a lot of custom work that is almost realistic. He’s also quite good at disguising himself. He’s often thought to be a western wizard at first but he’s a big introvert and would rather be left to his devices to work on his toys and machines (~100-200).
Juza: A south-born wizard known to be really physically strong. He had left the south because of bad rumours and had wandered around until he settled in the east. When he encounters fallen wizards, he takes their mana stones but buries the rest of their remains. He usually works as a mercenary for hire (~late 30s).
Kumon: A south-born wizard who takes a lot of pride in his brother and followed him to the east once his brother made base. He has a lot of personal conflict with his magic and using it properly (~mid-20s).
Southern Country: Kind-hearted wizards who are often weaker magically
Omi: A north-born wizard who was quite notorious in his youth. After his partner-in-crime died during a raid by other wizards, he moved down to the south and became a school teacher (~80-90s).
Muku: Born with weaker magical power and no teacher to learn from, Muku mostly focused on becoming dependable physically (~early 20s).
Tsuzuru: A young writer who once wished to sell his works, especially to the central and western kingdoms, but didn’t want to leave his large family. Now that all of his siblings are adults and his parents are in retirement, he’s had thoughts of leaving and making his stories come to life (~50s).
Tsumugi: A dancer who once upon a time was going to go to Central Kingdom to make it big but backed out last minute and stayed in his village. He is very talented though and uses magic to enhance the experience of his performances. He also often uses plants as a moving visual (~100-200).
Central Kingdom: Filled with natural-born leaders and those who have strong senses of justice
Sakuya: Orphaned at an early age, he grew up doing odd jobs just to survive. His dream is to become a knight for the kingdom, much like Cain Knightley (albeit he was thrown out of the knights) (~early 30s).
Citron: A noble and the tentative heir of the Zahra household. His father is an acclaimed wizard but out of all his children, Citron has been the only wizard. It wasn’t until recently that his younger half-brother Tangerine had been born a wizard as well that he decided that he wishes to leave the family (~200+).
Sakyo: A north-born wizard who had dreamed for the longest time to stay in central and rid himself of the pressure of north for years. He had been involved in Azami’s family in order to survive since he had originally been very weak. Azami’s dad is a wizard he respects deeply who had fathered many but Azami had been the first wizard and Sakyo had taken care of him since birth. When Sakyo was given permission to leave the family, he had taken it, but not without Azami’s resentment (~1000).
Tenma: The son of a merchant that made it big. He’s a performer in all aspects from singing to acting to dancing and is regarded as a superstar by the locals. His magic is used to enhance his theatrics (~late 20s).
Guy: While his parents were originally from the central kingdom, he was taken at a young age and grew up being trained in the North. He worked as a mercenary afterwards, traveling the world before he meets Citron’s family and is then assigned to become his aide (~1500).
Tasuku: A south-born dancer who has gained the attention of many people. He was originally going to come to the Central Kingdom with his Tsumugi, but he had backed out and Tasuku still resents him for running away (~100-200).
Thoughts???? I’d love to hear them!

A3 Actors! Golden Boy
Type: Oneshot
Pairing: Chigasaki Itaru x Reader
Themes: Workers / Subtle interest / Impressions
Chigasaki Itaru was what people would describe a golden boy. Amazing looks, great attendance and of course, flawless personality. He was someone you never thought falling for though, unlike many female co-workers who mentioned half-jokingly about winning the lottery if anyone were to date him.
You had tried to keep your thoughts to yourself, mainly because in your opinion no guy was that perfect. In fact, you had only found examples like that in novels; be it in young adult, classics or mature ones. That last one becoming one of your guilty pleasures as of lately. However, the attraction you felt for those characters was definitely different from what you got from your blond co-worker.
You looked at the time in your phone. Lunch break. You turned off your computer and headed to see what the cafeteria had to offer with a wallet at hand. The company had invested in that place a few months ago and goodness gracious had it been worth it.
As you took your meal, you glanced around the room. The cafeteria was pretty big but having these many employees only meant finding a seat was something similar to parking a car in the middle of the city. A few moments later you discovered an empty chair. Hungry and tired, you let yourself start enjoying the delicious lunch.
“Good afternoon, Y/N-san.”
You lifted your head as you took noticed of the person facing you, a pair of magenta eyes looking straight at you. “Oh, Chigasaki-san, good work.” bowing, you wondered how you had not seen him.
You resumed eating your dish, not really knowing if it was okay to start a conversation. You both worked in the same department but that’s were similarities ended. For being so popular and socializing so well, he was a person that usually kept to himself. Or at least that’s the impression you got - not that you thought it was a bad thing. Neither of you usually talked outside of work-related stuff.
“You in for a big lunch, uh.”
On the other side of the table, Itaru wasn’t that interested in your food, just trying to be polite and divert your attention -you had almost caught him playing with his personal gaming phone. He almost never brought it to the cafeteria - too many people passing by - but the event was almost gone and the place he usually had lunch at was being reformed. Besides, he honestly didn’t want to waste time walking around finding a new place to play.
“It’s the only highlight of my day after all,” you responded, oblivious to his thoughts.
He hummed, understanding why you would say that. Last few weeks had been one request after another and many had had to work overtime to cover all the demands.
“That reminds me, I finally got the sign for the contract with Fujira’s firm.”
“Really?” Itaru actually perked up. That would help him cut most of his overtime work- he had been waiting for them to sing the documents in order to finish the accounting. He mentally high-fived, already dreaming of the remote controls places in his hands.
“Yeah, they got in contact with me this morning for a meeting. I’ll send it to you before I forget.” you mention pulling the device from your bag. “I have a copy in my phone.”
“Great, thanks.”
The conversation came to a stop. You looked at how his electronic device stood facing down the table, the blond showing no intention of touching it. “Want to check it?” you asked eventually.
Itaru blinked. Looking at his phone, a smooth smile appeared. Public service activated he reminded himself “Ah! Sorry, this is not my working phone. I usually leave it in my desk.”
“I see…”
You watched his lunch. He had asked for a pretty small combo for a man his height.
“Then-”
“Well, I’ll be returning now. Enjoy your lunch, Y/N-san.”
Although taken a bit back by his sudden leave, you thanked him, not trying to think much of the conversation.
                                                …………………….
“Y/N-san, fancy meeting again. This is… becoming somewhat of a custom.” with a mouth full of rice, you turned to greet him, recognising this time the voice. You also hadn’t thought you two would end up sitting next to each other again.
“Are you done?”
You gulped down the rest of your food with water and sighed. “Almost. The meeting will start earlier than we thought.” Itaru nodded as he sat, at first glance interested but you noticed he kept himself form making any comment, unlike last time. You also noticed a strained smile in his demeanour.
...Was he the one tapping his foot under the table?
Minutes passed with no one saying anything, just eating. The awkward tension reached an end when you finished your portion. “Then…I’ll be off. I need to meet outside the company and wouldn’t want to keep them waiting.”
You felt the smile he send you was forced. “Good luck, Y/N-san.”
                                            .......................................
With the documents delivered and discussed. You decided to end the day rewarding yourself with a new bought novel that had just come out and a big cup of coffee or chocolate, whatever your body might want when you entered the coffee shop in front of Veludo Station.
“Welcome! What can I get for you?”
“Hi, I’d like a-”
“Fuck! I should have expected people would take advantage of working hours.”
You stopped talking to the waiter in the register, not sure if what you had heard from the person behind the sofa was real.
“Aaah… I’m so dumb. Should’ve just skipped lunch.”
Turning your head, you spotted the very same golden boy that a few hours ago had been wearing an impeccable suit, making girls whisper behind him.
Was that a mobile game he was playing?
“Shit! I can’t believe-“ he stopped talking as soon as both of you exchanged looks. You waved, not really knowing what to do.
He didn’t.
“I didn’t know you frequented this area, Y/N-san.” was the first thing he said to you when you apprached him. His smile was kinda scary.
“I… don’t. I just felt like having a coffee before going home.”
“I see.” he got up, leaving money form his order on the table. “Well, it’s been nice to see you now even outside work but I think we should put a stop to seeing each other this much.”
You looked at the cup raising an eyebrow. It was almost full. “Are you leaving because I came here? I mean, I don’t mind if this is your place to relax. I can go somewhere else.”
“I don’t see why it’s something we should be discussing.” he laughed softly, trying to turn into his work mode but not quite making it.
You shrugged. “Just trying to be considerate. By the way, never took you for someone who would be into games.”
“Ah,” thought Itaru. “Here it comes.” Something in his behaviour changed again, tensing under your eyes. “I like to keep my work and personal life divided, not the first person to do that I imagine.”
You conceded. However, the Chigasaki you just witnessed was TOO different from the perfect prince-like persona you were used to.
“I kind of enjoyed watching you be so expressive for once.”
“I’d like to say I express myself enough at work.”
“Well, that’s your work profile right? This is the real you.”
That, Itaru didn’t expect. He was pretty sure you were going to comment how disappointed you were to see him like that or, at the very least, express your disgust for people who changed personalities for others. He looked at what you had in your arms. “I could say the same about those erotic novels you’re carrying. Didn’t take you for a fan of those.”
You blushed, covering the title. “T-this is…! Um, I promise not to say anything if you don’t say it either.”
The blond scrutinized you, trying to see if you were bluffing. Finally, he sighed. What had been done couldn’t be erased. Besides, so far you had never tried to flirt with him which was a plus. If you were that chill with him maybe it was okay to leave everything like this.
He smirked at you, a completely different from the ones he threw in the office. Total opposite of those perfect men from your novels. “Then it’ll be our top secret highly valued EXP,” he approached you and whispered into your ear. “Maybe we could have lunch and discuss our hobbies.”
With a shiver, you covered your ear, feeling your skin rile up. “What!?”
“Good work, Y/N-san~” He retreated, waving as he walked out of the shop.
Chigasaki Itaru was what people would describe a golden boy. He was someone you never thought falling for. Up until that day, that hadn’t crossed his mind either
But oh boy if he wouldn’t feel like changing that soon.
