(content warning: blood)
Sewed Up Heart
[ID: A Trigun comic done in grayscale with red accents. First, an anatomical heart gushes blood, forming a puddle which shifts into Vash's coat. Vash's gloved hands can be seen sewing up a tear at the hem.
Vash raises his hands, which are now bare and covered in blood. He looks sweaty and distressed, and he raises his coat to his face and cries into it. His clenched hands rip the sewed portion apart, and the red thread leads to a heart whose own stitches are tearing apart. The background gets darker and darker, and the red looks brighter and starker against it.
Then the background returns to white, and brown-skinned hands using embroidery scissors snip a red thread. Wolfwood holds up Vash's repaired coat, grinning proudly, and does a happy thumbs-up in Vash's direction. Vash lifts his head, seeming distant.
Wolfwood holds out the coat. As Vash puts out his hand to take it, the cloth is replaced so Wolfwood is dropping a sewed-up heart in Vash's hand. Vash rubs the coat against his face with a teary smile. End ID] ID CREDITS

adhd reigen not in a “hes so goofy and silly” way but in a “he has a tendency to hyperfixate on things then drop them the moment he gets bored, has trouble forming genuine relationships with people because he’s so dedicated to making himself likable, is terrified of rejection and actively self sabotages to avoid it” kinda way

dear lord y'all should learn to tell the difference between a gag in writing and an actual instance of harmful behavior... news flash but kids find mild violence funny and- shocker- can tell the difference between something that was the in-universe equivalent of roughhousing and actual physical assault with the intent of harm.
so much of the younger generation is caught up in the lack of nuance perpetuated by the internet that in trying to analyze a piece of text they read so far into it that they miss the point entirely.
this person also cites that because Percy (who is KNOWN for his sarcastic and often exaggerated narration) says that he's "scared" of Annabeth at times that means he is in an abusive relationship. Have you considered that in the context of the way the narration and the surrounding universe is constructed, this is a compliment?? Of her ability to kill monsters and survive?? or in some of the context they cite he's intimidated by her because he's a TEENAGER WITH A CRUSH.
For the love of the greek gods stop taking everything so literally!!!!!!
And I want to clarify, this is not about shipping. I couldn't care less if you like Percabeth or not. Heck- if you want to interpret the text in the way that makes you personally believe that they're toxic or whatever I'm not gonna stop you, but I draw the line at using your warped perception of the narrative to lash out against people who enjoy it, let alone calling them "abuse apologists".
no reading comprehension-ass website for real 😩

No, but regardless of how season 2 ended, I believe this is a huge win for the queer community. I mean, after decades of being ignored, baited and made fun of we finally won.
We knew they weren't trying to gaslight us, but can you blame us for still being cautious and careful after Destiel, Jonlock and all the other queer people that were used as bait?
After spending years begging for scraps of queer representation, for a way to be seen and feel validated, we were finally vindicated.
Yes, the finale did break my fucking heart, but i also want to get out and scream “WE WON. FINALLY AFTER YEARS OF BEING GIVEN FALSE HOPE WE FINALLY WON”.
The cast and crew worked so hard to give us a queer love story from start to finish and I just can't describe how much this means to me. I don't think non queer people can understand what it feels like to have it proved to you that you are not crazy. You are not delusional. This is real. We made something real for you.
I hope every queer person who reads this feels everything I'm feeling. Because series like Good Omens means that we're here. We are here and we won't fucking go anywhere. We are finally seen.

Don't think this is a controversial take, but...:
I wish there was wlw stuff in a similar vein to OFMD, Good Omens, Heartstopper and Red white and royal blue. Like yes, Ik that in most there's a wlw couple, and yes I know that Good Omens is technically not mlm. But like...whenever there's a wlw show it gets cancelled, it's gritty/violent, or it has a tragic ending. I want to see more wlw stuff that is light hearted or just written as a romcom. I hope the fact that these lgbtq shows exists means that there will be a change, and that wlw media will (in the near future) be treated the same way as mlm. I genuinely believe that the popularity of these shows is a giant step forward, along with the fact that these shows even exist to begin with.
(Yes, I know that Ineffable Husbands isn't mlm, but they are (mostly) male presenting, which means that the ship generally read as such. Yes, there's wlw pairings, but they're mostly side pairings. Yes, I know that bottoms exists and that makes me so fucking happy. Also, I'm grateful for the cartoons with a wlw main pairing, I just want that in live action as well. Representation is matters, and wlw representation /should/ exist in live action as well. If anyone got any wlw centered shows/movies (that didn't get cancelled), please recommend them, I'm s t a r v i ng.)

what people think schizophrenia is: I hear voices and there are people living in my vents! Otherwise I’m good.
what schizophrenia really is: I have insomnia, my hunger cues and texture issues change the type of “safe food” I can eat almost every day so it’s a struggle to feed myself, my hands shake, my clothes suddenly become uncomfortable and I have to strip them off and turn them inside out, I can’t pick out people’s voices from ambient noise, I have no motivation and sometimes lose hours in a fugue state when I try to do something, I sometimes stop caring about things that are necessary to keep me alive, I feel like people are talking about me whenever I go out in public, I come up with fictional scenarios that send me into a panic, I can’t control the thoughts that run through my head, I’m either manic or fatigued during the day, sometimes sounds suddenly become so loud that they hurt my ears, I have trouble functioning in structured environments with authority figures and understanding instructions and diagrams, I have memory issues, I can never be sure if faint noises are real or my imagination. But I appreciate music and fiction a lot and I can riff endlessly on a joke.

The way RTD has handled the Thirteenth Doctor's legacy so far makes me really uneasy, to be honest. And I don't mean plot elements (it's really positive that he's leaning into the timeless child so much so far!), I mean how (imo) Jodie's doctor reconfigured who the Doctor can be and who can see themselves in the Doctor.
Her doctor is the first 'woman doctor' but that is not to consign her, nor is it to put assumptions on who her doctor might/should be. The understanding of what 'woman' means felt reconfigured, expanded upon- she's an alien, she's not going to play by the rules some humans love to put on such a designator! It's a possibility not compulsory, a jumping off point for fluid ideas about the self. Her costume is a recognisable representation of this idea- intended by Jodie to be genderfluid, for anyone to wear. It is both inclusive and expansive, beyond binary (there's so much I could say about her performance to which this also applies).*
So, RTD seemingly not understanding this, or perhaps not willing to stand by this decision and instead bowing to how bigots might react (so putting their binary, restricted understanding ahead of those who celebrated Jodie's doctor and felt represented by her in importance?), and getting rid of her costume feels... disheartening.
So yeah, I'm uneasy about how 13 might be referenced or represented in any way going forward. It's usually fun when a current doctor references a past self, but so far, 13's costumes been incinerated and RTD's dropped in some really (imo) stupid jokes about 'the woman doctor.' We've seen very little of his tenure yet, and I don't want to put my cart before my horses but it's not a great start.
It gives the impression that he took his own understanding of what the 'woman doctor' should mean as his compass rather than engaging with Jodie's doctor, honestly. We shall see, and I want to be optimistic, but it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.
*This is not to say that the doctors that came before Jodie don't also offer sights of reconfiguration. I really like that her predecessors, to some extent, also break down ideas about male-presenting characters. But her doctor is a clear break with the status quo (she's not portrayed by a cis, white man)

i love karna fate grand order so fucking much because in serious grail wars he’s an extremely fascinating, imposing, and badass character who just has this unique, grand air about him, he looks almost otherworldly and speaks with such purpose yet personality, and he has a huge amount of power, but he's dangerous because he does hold back until he either feels the need or is instructed to just explode everything
but nearly all the rest of the time he exists he is an autism creature in the shape of a gender man who just happens to have godly powers
he may look pretty and composed but do not be fooled. this is the glowy body horror god baby. he is a Huge Dork(tm). he never knows what to do with his face. when given the choice to wear whatever casual clothes he wants he dresses like an arts college student who just tossed on 2-3 layers of whatever was laying around on their dorm floor before heading to the nearest whole foods. his ass is the posterchild for flat fuck friday. he absorbed the meathead jock braincells from the guys he hung out with in life and during christmas he goes full unga bunga about it
in vibes alone karna is like a goofy baby albatross compared to his brother who may as well like the perfectly sleek and beautiful adult ones with the perfect eyeliner in comparison. which is ironic, because karna already has the natural makeup (also, once again, do not be fooled, arjuna is a screaming disaster on the inside, but that's a love post for another day)
i think one of my fav examples of the contrast between ~beautiful ikemen~ karna and absolutely clueless fucking loser karna is that bit in the 5th anni pv where there's that shot of him oh so cooly popping open a bottle of champagne, and he's got the bishie sparkle going on, and looks sooooooo pretty in his fancy clothes,
and then you realize
Tumblr media Tumblr media
he just soaked arjuna with it, probably entirely obliviously
tl;dr karna good. yes he is cool. yes he is dorky and silly as all hell. duality of mankind

I love Jiang Cheng and I hope you agree. The most tragic thing about yunmeng siblings is that JC and WWX really love each other the whole time… I like to think they can fix it someday

Someday perhaps....in the meantime, I bet he's loving having dogs run around lotus pier. As a WWX deterrent of course. No therapeutic reasons at all.

One thing I love about mutant mayhem is that Leo has a crush on an April who’s not conventionally attractive. It almost feels like, because of the turtles’ isolated upbringing* he hasn’t been influenced by the popular western beauty ideals and just thinks this ordinary human is beautiful! And I think that’s really cool! Because she is!
*though they’ve clearly been exposed to celebrities and other pop culture so ?? idk lol

On par with the argument of Aziraphale and Crowley fitting so many different types of queer rep into them because they can be whatever we want to see them and that's awesome... There's an argument I always miss in this sort of "discourse", and it's that even outside of human labels and identities, they are absolutely queer characters? Like, even ignoring all the human stuff, saying they might not have gender for real, are canonically sexless, etc etc... Like, guys, they're so queer when you just look at them as angels (demons).
Crowley's presentation is continuously neat, tidy, fashionable and modern. He isn't presenting at all the way other demons are. Demons are expected to be dirty, with old clothes, hair full of grease and blood and other gross liquids, sores on their faces, animals on their heads. Crowley doesn't confirm to this presentation at all. We speak about his gender non-conformity in human terms, but his demon non-conformity is at least as important IMO. Crowley chooses how he wants to look, how he wants to be seen, for himself, even if it's looked down on and met with scorn from the demons around him. (Does this strike cords with anyone else who's gnc? Because it should.)
Likewise, Aziraphale doesn't wear the tailored suits and the gold tattoos that are a normal presentation for an angel. He engages in a lot of unangelic activities, like hoarding books and enjoying meals, and he gets flack for it the same way any person who fails at having the proper interests for their gender gets flack from their environment, too.
Already on their own these characters are queer coded that way. And then there's their relationship, their love for one another, the way they're drawn to a member of a group they're not at all supposed to be attracted to. They fall in love with the wrong person. The person they love isn't the gender sort of angel they're supposed to, allowed to love. Does that sound familiar to anyone?
Especially Aziraphale goes through all the struggles a lot of us queer folk go though. He tries to not see it. They're just acquaintances, it's nothing - okay, they work together sometimes - okay, they might be friends, but they can't - oh fuck he loves Crowley, and it's mutual, and he cannot live in a world that doesn't have Crowley, but loving him puts Crowley at risk, they can't let anyone see, ever. That's, yeah, that's just living in a homophobic world, y'all. It does that to us. And Crowley is more comfortable with his love in itself (and cares less for the approval of his family side), but he too is aware of the risks and aware of how difficult giving in to it is for Aziraphale.
Like, yes, the characters aren't human. There's analogies and metaphors and shit here, yeah. But their entire story is queer as fuck. Please shut up about the queer baiting.
