Also one thing I think really helps with Astolfo’s writing is that what happened to his family was not random. It didn’t happen just because Astolfo had been kind to someone outside of his race, and they had taken advantage of that. Astolfo’s family had made tremendous profits off of a race war, were still reaping the benefits and associating with a group that killed thousands in an attempted genocide. It’s the cycle of violence, once again.
