How long is this Owen hate thing going to go on? It's honestly kind of funny how people seem to just look for reasons to hate on him. I feel like 404 just gave them even more reason to do so while simultaneously deifying the Reyes'. The thing is, my problem isn't even with the characters, I like them all. My problem is with the double standards. The Reyes' are obviously not perfect either. And even though Carlos’s relationship with them seems to be better, the fact that he didn't feel like he could go to them after him and TK broke up shows that things are still not great between them. Not to mention Gabriel's comment about how Carlos should have corrected Andrea's mistake in 211 rather than think about why their son wouldn't feel comfortable introducing his boyfriend to them in the first place.

I think Carlos’s face says it all here. Mind you, this was after Bad Call yet apparently Gabriel still doesn't recognize his mistakes with Carlos. Not only that but now apparently we need do add the fact that he felt like such a disappointment to them that he married a woman and they just let him go through with it despite knowing he was gay. I love the scenes we got with Gabriel in 404 but I don't like how it seems that even those have been weaponized against Owen. Yes, Gabriel saved his son and it was beautiful but Owen has done the same more than once. I mean, the episode is meant to be a parallel of Bad Call where Owen and Carlos were the ones that teamed up. Not to mention when TK got shot in 108, Owen sat with him the whole time stroking his face and talking to him. He apparently didn't even leave the hospital for a shower. When TK woke up, it was his dad he called for before he even opened his eyes and Owen was right there. And then Owen saved him again in 110.

Even the scene where TK revives Carlos is a parallel to Owen reviving TK in the pilot

Look, there's no denying that Owen is flawed and to be fair it is easier to focus on Owen's flaws since he's the main character and we see more of him but that still doesn't make the double standard any less unfair. Owen didn't ignore TK at all in 404. He picked up the phone despite the FBI lady not wanting him too. He looked at her like she was crazy for even thinking that he wouldn't pick up the phone bc "it's my son" and gave TK the best advice he could with what he knew. And he did this while the FBI lady badgered him and almost took the phone out of his hand. Yet there's literally people saying that it would be a good thing if Owen died and cheering on the FBI lady for making that comment.

I also don't buy the argument that Owen hasn't been apologetic about his mistakes. Out of all three parents, Owen is the one that is actually seen reflecting on his mistakes and and apologizing. People go after him for the "about to be a father" comment yet Owen himself expressed regret for it unprompted. He did it again in 316 when in the midst of his own struggles and dealing with his trauma, he called TK up just to tell TK that he loved him and that he was proud of him. He apologized for the distance between them and promised to do better. And we know they're going to be talking in 408. That closeness they had that we all were so charmed by in s1 existed for a reason. And we now know that the reason we haven't seen it in a while is going to be addressed.

Look, I love all three of the parents plus Gwyn but at the end of the day parents are human and all humans make mistakes and have flaws. I like how the show reminds us of that. What I don't like is the double standard and the way people look for reasons to hate on Owen. It's gotten to the point where I have to filter tags and be very careful what fics I read bc I'm not interested in anything that just makes Owen out to be this awful parent when that's very far from what he actually is. My biggest pet peeve with fandoms in general is double standards and the ones people have for Owen compared to the Reyes' and even Gwyn are too glaring for me to just ignore

Raven: busy going evil and/or being dead 80% of the time, annoying and pretty fucked up will-they-won't-they with Wally that makes neither of them look good.

Dick Grayson: the writers' specialest little boy who needs to be the smartest person in the room always, has the narrative bend over backwards for him constantly to the point where he gets a brainwashing arc that means you could argue nothing bad he did has ever been his fault since like, issue 26 or something.

Donna Troy: got married to Marv Wolfman's self-insert, little miss perfect.

Garfield Logan: group sexual harrasser and self-described chauvenist pig, won't stop complaining about his trauma and daddy issues (and yeah they're pretty bad but in the immortal words of Donna Troy 'that's not exactly unique in this group'), depressed funny guy except he's not funny 98% of the time.

Victor Stone: won't stop complaining about his trauma and daddy issues 2 electric boogaloo (again they're bad again that's not exactly unique in this group and also there's only so many times you can have the same character conflict before it gets annoying).

Koriand'r: idk I guess she's annoyingly clingy towards Dick but if a female character is stuck in an annoying relationship you should always blame the guy, it is always morally correct. She's written by a guy and Dick's that guy's specialest little boy, of course she's shafted. She's done nothing wrong ever in her life no I am not biased do not look at my icon —

Wally West: self-described conservative, primary character trait is not wanting to be here and complaining incessantly about it, see above point about blaming the guy in reference to his relationship with Raven.

Joey Wilson: honestly I have no clue why you'd find Joey annoying. He's too nice? Got no-homo'd too hard before they changed their minds and made him canon queer twice? Had a badly written villain arc bc the writers didn't know what to do with him? Idk. His worst crime is being attached to Deathstroke who IS annoying. Annoying by association.

Kole Weathers: introduced to die and it shows, if you thought Kori was clingy wait until you meet Kole's pathologically clingy ass. That said if I'm honest she's mostly here so I can justify putting Danny Chase on the list as well.

Danny Chase: fourteen years old but he thinks he's the smartest most capable person in the room and he's not even right. The narrative desperately wants you to think he's cool but he's just kinda not. Worst part here is that since I'm literally ten years older than him l can't even be bothered by him bc if I am that makes ME the loser. Damian Wayne did the annoying arrogant over-competent kid schtick better (source: me and my bias).

god this season is doing such a good job with jake. after last episode it'd make so much sense for him to just be jealous and upset, but instead he's genuinely trying to communicate. and literally saying "you always wanted me to do this, so i'm trying, please talk to me" is like. really good.

idk for sure but it does feel like tom's lying about the boyfriend. at the very least, not giving any more information (valid choice if it's true given they're on tv and that ruined his life in s1) makes it seem like he's lying, which sucks for jake because at this point he is doing everything right.

not really surprised that aiden's mad at jake about it given he and tom are friends and he and jake don't know each other, but it is a little disappointing given how clearly (to the audience) jake is Trying His Best

also i do kind of love that this very much could have been the end of it if it weren't for ellie intentionally fucking it up.

villains alliance

i fully forgot that alec didn't know about the letters. of course he didn't, he would absolutely have taken it seriously because he's the only person in the alliance trying to make it work. i do think it's funny that he and riya had a conversation about it without even checking if anyone was listening tho.

gabby finding out was inevitable, ever since the "ellie would've told me line" but i do feel bad for her. i'm worried this is going to backfire on tess tho, since she offered to talk to ellie first. their relationship is really sweet and it makes sense for the game to mess it up, but yeah :(

magenta team

prediction from last time: "if it's magenta team it's probably fiore, which makes me think it won't be magenta team." well i was half right!

i love fiore so much and i'm sad to see her go, but honestly i really really love what they're doing with jake here.

like the theme of his character is Trust Issues, and in s1 that was a lot more lashing out at people over tiny slights which was not the most likable trait. but now he's learned that that's not healthy and is trying to correct it, but the core issue is still there. the fear and worry at being hurt or abandoned hasn't gone away, he's just not externalizing it as much.

like i genuinely don't think ashley is wrong for hanging out with ally, not eliminating ally, not picking up on the severity of jake's anxieties, etc. in fact i think kicking ally out would've made it worse, bc what he needs more than immediate reassurance that he's her ultimate bestie is to build up resistance to the fear of abandonment- being able to experience the worry and have it turn out okay without needing ashley to do something dramatic will help demonstrate that it doesn't have to be as big of a deal as his relationship trauma is telling him.

but also i get it. and i'm not worried about ashley turning on him, but i do think he's not going to handle it well bc he needs to be liked so bad and is not having a good time.

other thoughts

yellow team took more of a backseat this episode (besides the villains alliance thing, but that was a bit more ellie focused), but yul continues to be the world's shittiest boyfriend. grett has grown so so much since s1 and it's gonna hurt so bad when this gets exposed i know it :(

predictions

cyan team should be high focus next episode, mainly bc of the villains thing. i think it's likely ellie will react badly to being confronted about it, and i can see it causing team tension esp with gabby. if they end up having elimination i don't really see ellie surviving at this point? mostly because tom and aiden are already biased against her and while i can see gabby sticking with her i don't think she could convince tess.

i don't think magenta will be up for elimination again, mainly because i think their current drama needs some time to marinate. ashley won't turn on jake unless he gives her a Really Good reason, and i don't see that happening in a single episode. and if they take ally out that kills the tension of jake not knowing how it'll go. so that (along with them having the smallest team) has me leaning against them.

if it's yellow, it's probably yul. riya and alec have not been subtle about their dislike, and there's no longer a non-villain option. i guess if grett hasn't figured out his act by then it could be a tie (in which case i think yulgrett would vote for riya, and yul would win the tiebreaker for narrative purposes (it not making sense for him to go home before being exposed to grett)), but it could go differently. i think it's more likely to be cyan tho.

i should note i have no idea when to expect the merge. it feels too soon right now though.

also! i don't really think tess is in danger (although as team mediator and the tiebreaker between gabellie and tomaiden, she is the obvious candidate for getting out via trickery), but i do think she might be out soon- mainly, i'm expecting ally to be the one from her trio that lasts the longest, and i'm really interested to see how she reacts to tess elimination vs hunter. i also think it'd be interesting if tess gets out before they get much of a chance to catch up, and how that would affect things. anyways not likely to be next episode but i can maybe see that coming up at some point.

also also! i will very much enjoy seeing alec's response to fiore's elimination :3c (not that there will be one, of course, because he does not care :3c)

Back again! How about Strange x ofc!Sorcerer as a secret girlfriend that the avengers find out about mid-mission/fight. Like strange is being soft and protective of her and they’re all like “wait he’s not all stoic and serious?” Then after the battle the pair is explaining that they’re together and everyone is shocked bc she’s adorable and sweet while he’s mr grumpy face

Okay so, it might suprise you but Stephen hated when he had to join the Avengers. He hated the team work and everyone doing their part wrong and havingcto correct them he just hated it. And it was of course mutual when Stephen first joined the Avengers everyone wanted to shoot themselves. He was mean, cocky and judgemental, complaining and correcting everything.

It was a living nightmare for everyone and at some point Stephen considered quitting this ridiculous team and then you.

You the sweetest thing he had ever seen.

Despite being forced to be paired with him, as no one else seemed to bear him, you were always trying to be as patient and polite with him. When no one seemed to want to talk to him you always sat next to him before and after the missions and even though sometimes he was mean to you you never seemed to hold a grudge. You learned him tips about missions and you where also a sorcerer which made him feel somewhat a little more comfortable, sharing spells and experiences.

Stephen even though wasnt planning on it (he actually tried to avoid it too) hd oepned up to you like an open book. Your heart warming smiles, your sweet words, how open you were about touching always kissing his cheek before missions and then hugging him he was under your spell.

Stephen's heart melted into seconds. So soon you started meeting after work. Staring off with a few snacks after an exhausting missions, taking care of each other's wounds ( it was mostly Stephen though), training together sharing spells and advices, borrowing each other's spell books. Then you realised that perhaps Stephen wasn't as much of an awful person as the other pictured him to be, he was funny and caring and even his arrogance was somehow cute.

You had become good friends.

And then you kissed him. You really didn't mean to you just got carried away while talking during the wall to the compound (he always made up excuses just to make sure you went back same, swearing he had forgotten a book at you place or that Tony would kill him if something happened to you). Of course you apologized immediately but before you could speak another word he had already cornered you to the nearest wall and kissed you.

So that's how you started dating, secretly. Sexual innuendos that had everyone confused, stolen kisses and constantly searching for the other during battles, secretly holding his hand and then sneaking around the compound late at night just to see him.

Everything was going perfect until you stupid you managed to have one of your spells backfired and got hit by it. Worried Stephen stoped whatever he was doing and ran to your side holding your body close to his.

He called your name a couple times, his hand on you cheek caressing it softly as he got no answer.

"Come on sweetheart"

"Stevie?" You mumbled slowly opening your eyes.

"I want you to know that you're really terrible at spells" He said half joking half angry.

"I know you're angry but woukd a kiss perhaps change your mind?" You sweetly said and Stephen tilted his head with a smile.

"You're very endearing when you're half-asleep almsot bearable"

"Half-consious", you corrected him "you should know that as a doctor. Kissie for the patient doctor?"

"What the fuck?" Suddenly Natasha said and both you and Stephen looked up only to find everyone else staring at you. "I'm sorry but what the fuck"

After that your relationship wasn't much of a secret and even though months had passed after tye incident everyone continued questioning whether the relationship was real. But nothing mattered when you had each other.

Okay so I've learned a lot today.

Also this episode much like the fireworks one made me..

Very uncomfortable. But even more so than that one did.

This episode was just......really fucking sad man.

First off:

None of the gems seemed to like Greg so far (Except Amethyst) but Pearl especially seemed particularly not very fond of him. I kinda didn't think much about that. I just assumed it was because "Greg is a slob & Pearl doesn't like that he's a slob." And honestly given his current state in the show rn, I ain't exactly too fond of the man either. Though the winter episode definitely made me like him more.

But uh....now I'm starting to think Pearl's distaste for him isn't as simple as that. Because Pearl....

This whole episode Pearl was being like....

He's the closest thing she has left of Rose & the fact she's so caring & all just....if Rose had to sacrifice herself for Steven to exist, the fact Pearl isn't resentful towards Steven at all for that is so nice. Because it'd be so easy for the writers to just have her be like that for cheap drama but no, they don't. Thank you for that writers. That's so wise to avoid that bullshit bc I'd hate this episode if they went that direction....look idk how to word this rn but damn Pearl has some serious emotional issues. And Amethyst had some trauma reveal a few episodes ago too....

Okay quick side note: Amethyst I get that Pearl was being shitty but you have no right to be talking shit about her like you didn't just do some pretty fucked up shit just a couple episodes ago. Neither of y'all are in ANY position to be acting all high & mighty. Pearl just SAID something but you straight up fucking used your transformation magic to torment a man about his dead wife. You don't have any fucking high ground here girl. Garnet is the only one of you that has any room to be acting above it. She hasn't done anything like that so far so she's the only one that gets to talk shit. Sit tf down ma'am.

ahem, anyways Amethyst was being shitty too just a bit ago. And like I said then: when you're that mentally fucked it leads to that kinda behavior. It's not an excuse but it does mean you know there's a legit reason for why they'd act out like this. And it's not entirely their fault that they have a tendency to be that irrational. But Pearl, like Amethyst, you can tell she felt remorse.

Again, the way they resolve it without a drawn out argument...but instead it's just Pearl openly showing her vulnerability & Steven just showing her a sign of affection. No argument. No yelling. Just a genuine moment of sincere emotion. Steven understood. While what she said was horrible, he gets why she said it. They both miss her. But they have eahcother. I am going to fucking sob typing this oh my god.

Yeah this episode made me cry a lot. Absolutely stellar episode. And the ending was just beautiful.

Further cementing the fact that Pearl is my favorite. I can't wait to see how much the show uses her emotional baggage to rip my heart in half & stomp on it mercilessly.

Second best episode of the entire show so far. Only just slightly behind 'On The Run'. (That one just hit me on a more personal level so it still has my heart by the throat.)

I didn't understand clearly what your first ask is, so I'll answer with the two interpretations I made for now, if no-one of them are correct please feel free to send again

Abel and Cain's fight: the way I'm interpreting Abel and Cain in the au and in the hazbin universe is with Cain, being older, is the biological son of Eve and Lucifer, however he's extremely attached to the dad he knows and who raised him, so he is Adam's baby boy basically, has a hero like worship with his dad, being the first son, and for a while only child, adding that he is half angel, made his mom very... blind, to the way the boy was turning out to be, a spoiled brat, even after Cain came she still didn't belived something with Luciffer blood could do that much harm(also first time parenting and having no fucking idea how babies work, for them babies could very well be just clones of the parents).

Cain was raised more stricticaly than Abel because he is fully human and part Adam(keep in mind the "clone of the parents" mentality I'm running with this concept for how Adam&Eve viewed children until experience teached them the truth), turning at the end of the day a mommy's boy, with mommy inssues, the focus on him was extremely on the line of "learning empathy".

Despite it all the brothers did loved each other as siblings do, they fight, they pranked, they protected and they shared. But, Cain is a jealous little shit who is desperated for his father's aproval especialy if(still undecided) Eve told him who his blood dad is, or if the angelic conection kinda started creating a certain disconect. At the end, God's trial was the last straw for Cain, having seeing his mom and dad proudness of Abel's old ass sheep instead of his seeds made the boy just beat his brother to the death with his own hands, not that he knew he could do that(i kinda belive bc of Adam's ego they didn't belived humans could die of anything that isn't a spear)

At the end it was the first homicide, and letal accident, that's also why Abel is besides a crying Cain here.

Lute's relation with Adam's children: to understand her relationship with the brothers first I'd like to brief how I'm doing Adam and Lute's, they are friends first and lovers later(much MUCH later), moving on. There's also the fanfic side of the au, the apple of knowledge consequences in here, besides now Adam&Eve can see the nude human body, they also lost the capacity to actualy see and interact with angelic beings outside of profetic dreams or the voice of God.

So, by the time Cain and Abel are born Lute's role is much much more subdue as a guardian angel, she can only give dreams, and watch, by the time they are teens she's no longer going to earth constantly(besides the shut down of the guardian angel program bc of her failure+Lucifer). However she saw them grow, and in a way was the first angelic interaction with Cain and second handedly teached the boy a bit more about himself, and yes, she had her suspicions about the dad's identity.

When Abel dies and goes to heaven she was assigned to be the boy's guide and figure out whatever the hell he can and can't do, the differences of a human souls and an angelic one etc. It's a nostalgic blast bc she sees Adam's old curiosity in Abel, she absolutely has a soft spot for him. She's kinda aloof but likes them all the same, like that wine rich aunt who gives weird , kinda wise but reckless, advice and you start wondering what the fuck was her life like, but most importantly, she treats him(and every sibling later) as his own person, not a clone, not a baby, only a grow inexperienced adult&angel as he is at the time, so Abel does see her as a mentor(half ass one but one nonteless) and only in heaven he could actualy grown to be his own soul, even start the "guardian angels 2.0" the cherubims :)

I honestly thought Mad Santa would make it to the Pole this episode, and my guess about him getting there end of episode 5 or beginning of 6 was like. NOT CORRECT

Also, holy hell. If Santa can't look like Santa delivering eggs, then perhaps maybe you should uh. MAKE THE WATCH TURN HIM INTO A BUNNY? NOT INTO REGULAR SCOTT CALVIN? HATE THAT. I have always had a hc that Santas totally could poof into their civilian selves for whatever reason, BUT NOT LIKE THIS. And I know it's just bc TA doesn't like the Santa prosthetics. Every single instalment of this franchise has him not being Santa-ie at some point and it is. EXHAUSTING. Scott's just exhausting. I miss movie Scott so gd much y'all

Also love that Mad Santa's plan was "maybe he'll notice me" lol. That's fucking funny. The elves sure did! i am, in fact, in a steddie mood today. however, if you look at my account for more than 2 seconds then you're aware that i'm incapable of writing anything without stonathan in some way, shape, or form so today! we will be looking at platonicbff!stonathan. i love stonathan with my entire heart and its to the point where i like literally any dynamic you can put them in. like i think i'm into platonic!stonathan equally as much as platonic!stobin. which is saying something bc i am actively head over heels in love with robin.

what i want to look at today is protective jonathan when it comes to steve. in a perfect world (correction-in a somewhat plausible perfect world bc, let's be honest, in my perfect world we actively get footage of jonathan and steve fucking but that's neither here nor there) season 5 develops steve & jonathan's relationship, him and nancy break up amicably, and steve and jonathan become best friends.

but back to the steddie i promised earlier.

eddie doesn't know how it happened. one day he's accused of murder, alone, and stuck in a boathouse and less than a month later here he is. staring at steve fucking harrington sleeping less than five feet away from him.

the very same steve harrington that apparently is the sole reason he's even awake in the first place. when the trio had stumbled onto dustin and eddie, steve had gone into full action hero mode. using his lifeguard cpr training he had managed to get eddie breathing long enough to haul his ass back top side, breaking one of eddie's ribs in the process.

eddie doesn't remember any of it.

that isn't for lack of trying on his part. eddie is approximately two seconds away from breaking into the hospital's security footage because, if robin's story is true, he wants to keep the video for the rest of his life.

according to her, it was awesome, munson, you should have seen it! he had you in a bridal carry like a godamn rag doll. he burst in the front entrance and started yelling at them like i've never seen him yell before, ever! even that one time dustin fucked up the paint on his car. the nurses recognized you and for sure didn't want to help but apparently there's only so much you can do in the face of steve harrington throwing the mother of all shitfits. the second he started threatening to call his dad they all kicked into gear. it would have been funny if i didn't actively think you were dead at the time. sorry! but you really were super still and you weren't groping steve, like at all, so i assumed that we'd lost you forever.

(eddie pretends to be offended by that last bit, but he also concedes that if steve picked him up right now he can't promise he would keep his hands to himself)

after eddie was taken away on a stretcher, steve had nodded, mostly to himself, and promptly passed out. onto the cold, hard, tiled floor of the hospital entryway. they hauled him on a stretcher as well and he was put up in a room somewhere down the hallway.

that lasted for about four hours.

or, more accurately, that lasted until steve woke up again. after throwing what robin called less a shitfit, more a temper tantrum this time, he managed, even in a pain-induced haze, to convince the hospital staff to put him in eddie's room.

that fiasco was 3 days ago.

currently, steve wasn't unconscious anymore but his injuries were pretty badly infected. turns out nancy's shredded t-shirt wasn't exactly the most sterile thing on the planet. they had him on a steady stream of antibiotics and pain meds. eddie himself hadn't been awake for more than 15 minutes or so at a time (each of those times, robin had excitedly looked up from her vigil at steve's side and recounted new things she decided he had to know at that exact second).

until now.

as eddie blinks awake, he is aware of three things.

he's never been this thirsty in his entire life. it feels like he decided to dive mouth first into a container of sand.

if he didn't know any better, he would say that jim hopper is standing by a chair near steve's bed. but he does know better, jim hopper is dead. so. great. now he can add hallucinations to potential side effects of evil upside down bat bites.

directly next to the mirage of a police chief, sits jonathan byers.

that last thing wouldn't be as weird if said byers wasn't holding one of steve's hands and sitting far closer to the bed than the nonentity behind him.

(eddie isn't sure why the hand holding is more distracting at the moment than the fact that robin is actively laying in steve's bed with him, burrowing herself into his side like she's attempting to meld them into one person.)

he blearily watches as jonathan softly tucks a stray piece of steve's hair behind his ear on the side of his head that's not currently resting on the top of robin's.

eddie decides that he is on far too much pain medication to be thinking this hard.

groaning, he attempts to sit up enough to reach the water pitcher next to his bed.

"whoa, munson. take it easy," the ghost of legal trouble's past shuffles over to help eddie by pouring some water into a small paper cup. eddie watches him, wearily taking the cup from him. the water was cold to the point that it almost hurt, but it still beat the hell out of having a dry throat.

"ar'n't you 'posed t'be dead?" eddie slurs. his tongue feels like it weighs about ten pounds. the (poltergeist? revenant? wraith? eddie's mushy brain can't think of a better word for a dead person that can pour him water) figure before him scoffs.

"nice to see that you're still charming as ever. it's a long story, kid, i'm sure someone else will fill you in later. besides i'm guessing you have maybe 5 minutes of peace before one of those kids finds out you're awake and, inevitably, starts screaming about it loud enough to break glass," hopper sighs, hands coming to his hips in a remarkably similar echo of steve. eddie has absolutely zero thoughts about that, thank you. the chief moves towards the door, placing a hand on the handle.

"however, buckley hasn't left harrington's side for the last 4 days. if anyone scares her awake now, i don't think she'll ever go back to sleep. i'll hold them off for the night, but the second the sun comes up, you're on your own."

hopper looks from eddie to jonathan, who nods in acknowledgement without looking away from steve for more than a second or two. eddie watches as he closes the door behind him and disappears from view, leaving jonathan and eddie sitting in silence.

eddie coughs.

fidgets.

looks at byers.

coughs again.

okay, let it be said that eddie isn't great with awkward silence. but, in his defense, what the fuck is he supposed to say to jonathan byers? he didn't even know that him and steve were friends, much less holding-hands-in-a-hospital-bed-friends.

"so," eddie starts, regretting opening his mouth the second jonathan looks at him.

"so," jonathan repeats quietly, looking like he's holding back a smile as he does, "you're eddie munson."

eddie doesn't like the way jonathan is saying his name. it has an odd tilt to it, like he's mimicking what someone else has said to him. eddie admits that it's not the worst way his name has ever been said, but it makes him swallow uncomfortably.

"gu'lty 's charged, man." eddie's voice comes out considerably clearer than before, shifting from sounding completely shitfaced to minorly tipsy.

there is an extremely awkward moment where eddie has no idea where this conversation is going. jonathan is back to staring at steve, still practically cradling one of his hands between the two of his.

"he talks about you a lot, you know," eddie doesn't know, but he also doesn't interrupt, "it's always 'eddie said this', 'this is eddie's favorite song', 'eddie rented that movie'. he talks about you almost as much as he talks about robin."

jonathan takes a breath, drumming his fingers on the back of steve's hand. his gaze stays on steve as he talks, still quiet enough to not wake up either of the teenagers sleeping next to him.

"he's a good guy, you know. underneath the whole asshole jock façade. i don't know if you remember, but he almost killed himself trying to save you. i'm not sure how he was even able to stand when you guys came in, much less march in here like he did carrying you in his arms."

still idly toying with steve's hand, jonathan's gaze moves back to eddie. his fond expression dims into more serious territory as he visibly contemplates the second part of his impromptu speech.

"i'm not the greatest at talking about my own feelings, i'm more than aware of that, but i won't hesitate in saying that steve is important to me. no idea how, why, or when it happened, but he just is. somewhere along the line he decided that your opinion is important to him and i need you to understand the weight of that. steve has been independent his entire life, sometimes to the point where it's detrimental to his own health. i don't know if he realizes it completely, but he's basically imprinted on you like a baby duck."

eddie swallows nervously as jonathan maintains steady eye contact. the two men are quiet for a moment before jonathan seems to mentally switch tracks, "you seem like a good guy. steve obviously adores you and it sounds like the kids do as well. from what i've heard, you almost died to save dustin's life. i appreciate all of it, i really do. that being said, if you do anything to hurt steve then none of that matters anymore. i think i'm speaking on robin's behalf as well when i say that we really do like you as a person, but steve's wellbeing comes first."

as stated earlier, eddie is on far too much pain medication to be thinking this hard. if his head wasn't so foggy, eddie would think he's getting a shovel talk.

yeah, it's definitely the pain killers.

eddie clears his throat again as he heavily sinks back against his pillows. "i'm not entirely convinced that 'm not hallucinating this entire conversation, byers. but yeah, i understand. kinda owe him my life now, i guess, so it'd be pretty shitty of me to hurt the guy's feelings or whatever ya think i'mma do," his speech was improving the more he talked, but it was getting harder to keep his eyes open.

jonathan seems content with that statement for the time being, if his attention switching back to steve and off eddie is any indication.

eddie falls back asleep shortly thereafter, leaving jonathan as the only person awake in the small hospital room.

i think i'm going to add more from jonathan's pov but for now just be aware that jonathan and steve both know that steve is practically in love with eddie. jonathan is very protective of the people he loves and steve is in that circle. as far as this little snippet goes, i don't think stonathan was ever a romantic thing, and there was never any hard pining involved but they do care about each other deeply. i like to think they kept in contact when the byers moved to california. it started with jonathan and nancy getting into a fight and the only other adult person he could call to check on things was steve. he wasn't sure if steve would even respond, but he ended up not only answering all of jon's questions but seemed to genuinely want to know how the rest of the byers' clan was doing.

this turned into weekly phone calls, which turned to twice a week, which eventually turned to calls at all times of day all week. they're basically besties who gossip and talk shit on the phone all the time. when the byers get back to hawkins it shocks everyone but robin when jonathan parks his ass next to steve's bed and refuses to move.

i just love stonathan ok!!!! i will die on this hill. steve deserves people who love him and care about him!!

Jamils expression dropped as he raise his hand to pull Cordelia aside, quickly retracting his arm back as he got a glare from Ezrie, Cordelia's escort.

"I know what you're thinking, Jamil. But I'm not the same as you remember? My body filters posion. Given that I already have toxins in my body, poison won't have an effect on me"

"while that is correct, I still don't think it's a good idea you should be-"

"Ezrie it's fine~besides there is a silver lining! Our kingdom doesn't have this type of food so getting to try it out is a plus point! "

So with that, Ezrie and Jamil simply watched as Cordelia tried the foods laid out on the table, Jamil more reluctant but standing still given that he didn't need another reason to make Ezrie hate him more.

Besides once Cordelia makes up her mind about something, she remains firm on it so there really wasn't any other option.

Near the end of the table, Cordelia took a spoonfull of some corn soup. It was still warm.

"You know, I can't put my finger on it but something about this soup... Is... Weir-"

Her voice became sluggish as at the end of her sentence she passed out. Ezrie was quick to catch her, checking her temperature, that surely enough had spiked considerably.

"i told her not to... "

Jamil could only view the scene unfold horribly as his worries were quickly shut down.

"Relax yourself Viper. She's not poisoned. If at most, that soup has a spell on it but not posion. Miss Cordelia would have known instantly and what she was saying clearly indicated it isn't a posion at work. "

"Listen, Whatever it is, we need to take her to the infirmary. "

"Agreed. "

Stirring in the infirmary bed, Cordelia's eyes fluttered open,a pink hue casted over them, as she sat up.

Her ears still ringing, she could faintly make out a voice asking how she was as she turned to the owner of the voice.

The realization hit Jamil as soon as he saw her eyes. Oh shoot.

"So I'm hearing this correct? Someone tried to give Kalim a love potion, but it backfired and now Cordelia is possibly more head over heels for Jamil if thats possible. "

"You are correct. "

Jeanne got the response to her question through gritting teeth. Out of everyone, Ezrie was the most unhappy with the outcome. Still while a part of Jeanne really wanted to see how this played out, the other part was furious on how had attempted to give the love potion to kalim instead. For now, she'd go and check on Cordelia.

"so where are they? "

"In Viper's room. Alone. "

Once more, Jeanne could feel Ezrie's gaze darken. Clearly this was distasteful to her since she didn't trust Jamil with Cordelia in the slightest.

However when she made it to Jamils room and opened the door, she felt like laughing at the sight.

Jamil was sitting in bed, covered in lipstick stains as Cordelia was fast asleep, arms wrapped around his figure.

"Before you saw anything, she was especially stubborn and needy and didn't listen to a word I was saying. "

I'm quite certain she just wanted it to keep it in the family at that point bc did she forgot Azriel is "in love" with Mor before she suggested that? and Rhys had to aggressively shut that idea down lol. tbh I love that Rhys stopped her right then and there bc obv he knows him better than Feyre. they've known each other for +500 so ofc he can guess Az feeling on the matter and Az himself confirmed it in the bonus chapter (that Rhys also suspected) Az only wants Elain for release and nothing else.

and now her comment on them lead to her being the biggest e/riel shipper and e/riels LOVE to brag about it and its quite funny bc I think it was only that one time!!! we see Feyre encouraging Elain to talk to Lucien and even in her bonus chapter in acosf she wanted to suggest Elain to use Lucien's gloves that he gifted her but she didn't (which i hope she'd learned to not be a busybody after what happened with Lucien in acofas and Mor lecturing her to let them figure it out themselves)

After getting this message I didn't respond right away. I wanted to think back over the series because you are 100% correct but your correctness is even more far reaching.

In ACOMAF we have the following:

Feyre thinking that the reason Lucien had issues with Ianthe because she and her family fled during Amarantha's reign.

The actual reason Lucien had issues with Ianthe is because she sexually harassed him.

In ACOMAF, we have Feyre think Ianthe is her friend.

Later we find out that Ianthe was only ever self serving.

In ACOMAF Feyre kept wondering if a mating bond with Tamlin would snap into place.

The reason that didn't happen was because Rhys was her mate yet she was clueless about that until the Suriel told her.

In ACOMAF we have Feyre think about how Nesta and Amren would be fast friends.

In ACOWAR, Nesta and Amren were fast friends but not LASTING friends. Their friendship fell apart in ACOFAS and it never really recovered. I think they're in a better place after SF but they'll most likely never be as close as Nesta is with Gwyn and Emerie.

In ACOMAF, Feyre mentions how she sometimes notices Mor watching Az. She also asks Mor what she feels for Az which Mor deflects only for Feyre to then think, "but almost in answer, Mor declared, "Paint Azriel's. Next to mine".

Only that all fell apart in ACOWAR when Mor's preference came to light, something Feyre never suspected.

In ACOMAF, Feyre thinks how Az and Cassian could wipe Lucien off the planet.

But in ACOSF, we see Lucien command Cassian with a single word.

In ACOMAF, Feyre does say Elain would cling to Az to have some peace and quiet and how handsome they would be.

And in ACOWAR, we do see Elain and Az sharing moments of peace and quiet however, that seems to rapidly be falling apart in SF. Feyre once wanted peace and quiet too and at first she was happy with Tamlin until the peace and quiet no longer suited her. Similarly, we see Elain want to finally break free of her peace and quiet and Az is the person (after Nesta) who wants to keep her in her box of safety. He even spoke out against her AFTER Elain told Nesta off so it's doubly as problematic. Also, Feyre thinking of Elain and Az being together because of their physical appearance is the most superficial thing. It speaks nothing of their personalities or what they want from a partner, what their values are. Not to mention it reduces Elain to a "doll to dress up" or whose only worth is her beauty, just as their mother always did.

In ACOWAR, Feyre worries whether they can trust Lucien. Whether he would try to grab Elain, to sell them out.

Her fears are proven unfounded when she slips into Lucien's mind and realized he only has concern for Elain. Also Lucien regularly helps out the NC, sharing information with them, the opposite of selling them out.

In ACOWAR, Feyre questions why Lucien and Elain are mates without putting any consideration into who they are and what they want in a partner. She asks RHYS if HER SISTER is a match to Lucien 🤦. Her entire argument is based on the fact that Rhys and Tamlin's parents weren't a match for one another so maybe Elain and Lucien's is poor match too. Even though the reason Rhys tells us for WHY his parents weren't a match would not apply to Lucien and Elain and WOULD actually apply to Az and Elain.

Feyre is young and she doesn't always the see others clearly but that's ok because she's learning as she goes. She's asking these questions because this entire world is new to her and the why and the how's of it are something she's trying to figure out.

But anyone taking her thoughts as gospel as she's stumbling through it all is looking to the wrong person for predictions.

Feyre (in the original trilogy), Nesta (for the first 3/4 of her book) and Az (even now), for as great as they are, were /are not the characters to look too for clearheaded opinions because they are too close to certain situations, too emotional and too wrapped up in their own confusion about everything to be valid resources. Feyre and Nesta especially were all over the place. For example one minute Nesta was going on and on about how Elain is good and special and that's why Nesta protected her at all costs, and the next Nesta is furious with Elain, claiming she was "undoubtedly wholly convinced of her own innocence, her innate goodness" and mad at Cassian for defending Elain.

So again, I think much of what those three say / think in regards to Elain, Lucien, and Az needs to be taken with a grain of salt

Cassian was the one who predicted Nessmerie and guess what? They ended up being as close as sisters.

Rhys was the one who said that he might need to pull some threads in regards to Nessian and guess what? They were mated in the very next book.

Mor predicted that Lucien was trustworthy enough to enter Velaris and guess what? He didn't steal Elain away and he never sold out Velaris to anyone and helped provide information to the NC about Autumn.

We have Cassian telling us that Nesta was wrong about Elain being loyal like a dog, Rhys admit that maybe Elain behaves in certain ways because of the way the sisters treat her, we have Rhys and Mor tell Feyre to stay out of things with her meddling. We have Amren tell Az he's wrong about Elain. We have Rhys express genuine concern over the way Az spoke of Elain. These are characters who are a few steps away from it all and able to think more rationally because they aren't as personally invested in what happens. Feyre feels guilty for her sisters being made so she was desperate to throw Elain in any direction she thought might snap her out of her depression (except giving her a real chance to interact with her mate). Nesta and Az have / had too much of their own self loathing to see anything clearly. But in my opinion, Cassian, Mor, Rhys and Amren are the voices of reason when it comes to what's going on with Elucien and E/riel.

Zenon: He really likes dancing! Though no one (except Allen) knows about it. Not even Vani and Dante. Plus he has a REALLY big sweet tooth, if their is a box of sweets in his field of vision he will leave nothing for the rest the siblings (this annoys Dante beyond belief )

Vanica: She is (somehow) a really great cook! She kicked Lucius out of cooking duty a month after she learned the basics. Dante has made the "Haha, your a woman and you cook" joke only once in his whole life because Vanica put rat poison in his food and uhhh it wasn't a nice experience. And she can sing too! the thing about maer's route in this game is that he's pulling an emet-selch on you the whole time and thinks you're elisabeth. and you have to deal with that.

this was before the ACTUAL ALBUM CAME OUT!!!!! so the artist had no way of knowing he was totally amnesiac and didn't actually recall who elisabeth was, NOR that the other main conceit of the route (that you're Her Descendant (spoiler alert)) would never work bc elisabeth never got married (and nein reveals that even if she had she's infertile), but it's kind of funny anyway. like what compelled her to do it like this knowing full well the album would come out in like december of that year. like idoido came out in june or july

anyway i don't remember what the correct dialogue options are. this route was always a major pain in the ass compared to the others, like, it's MUCH harder and you do get stuck in circular arguments with maer not infrequently if you're not careful. i'm going to tell him i'm definitely not elisabeth though let's see where that gets me

Mags is 1) my favorite Robot Master 2) a major comfort character of mine and 3) the canon character I've written the longest. I've spent a many good years developing him and fighting for him, and I can say with a lot of pride that I'm the longest lasting Magnet Man writer I've seen on Tumblr. Seven years!!! I'm currently taking a break from the fandom but I can feel my MM muses returning, so I'm very excited to pick things back up.

Moon Woman/Cosmic Moonfall - Mega Man/Mega Man X OC

My baby girl. Moon's been with me for 11 years now; I made her when I was 10 and she's lasted throughout my entire RP history, and long before then. I have countless AUs for her and have poured so much blood, sweat and tears into her, some of those being very literal sweat and tears (thankfully no blood yet!). She means the world to me, and nearly every fandom I've touched I've left a piece of her there. She's been through several rewrites and redesigns and I am finally, finally happy to say I've found a story for her main verse that I'm proud of, after 11 years of development and growing up alongside me. I can't wait to share her with you all through Yingyue and Meiyu!

Jing Yuan - Honkai Star Rail

Quick Man - Mega Man 2 (Megamix manga canon)

So initially I picked Quick Man up out of spite, because someone I had a bad history with used to RP him and I went "I bet I could write him better." So I did. What I didn't expect was to actually end up liking him so much!! Quick's a very quiet character who doesn't talk, like, at all. He was actually very challenging for me to write at first because, as you know, I don't shut up. :D

But I've put a lot of time into his development, and I'm really happy with where he's at! I had no idea I'd have so much fun with him. His character even spawned two OCs, both of which are (sort of) on this blog: Quinn's two alts!

Miles Williams/Veturas - OC

I honest to god do not remember if I've shown you that first FC of his. I was so close to actually rping him on Tumblr on god DLAKGFJHADSLKFJHA. His FC is so funny I can't for the life of me remember his name but he comes from an idol manga/anime and there was a gacha game for it too. Absolutely hilarious

You and Jade are the two who know Miles best here, since it was in our server that he got the most development even if it wasn't where he started. He's my third oldest OC and honestly the one I've struggled the most with in terms of striking a balance I was proud of. It's... hard for me to drum up his muse now, thanks to [she-who-shall-not-be-named], and it's a little painful to try to write him, but thankfully Veturas has remained untouched. He's easier to bring out. Despite that, though, I do love Miles very dearly. I miss him a lot; he was my favorite OC for a very long time. I'd like to go back to that time some day, if I can.

Blues/Proto Man - Mega Man 3 (Megamix manga canon)

Blues was a character I picked up as homage to one of the very first people I met through RP (who I did manage to rekindle contact with!! after 5 years!!!! holy shit!!!!!!!!) because they were the person who'd introduced me to the manga written and drawn by Hitoshi Ariga, as well as the person who introduced me to my most favorite ship in the MM fandom. He's always been a favorite character of mine, but I wasn't expecting his muse to spiral out of control like it did. He's now the origin point for a number of OCs of mine, including one (1) special spooky Elder Dragon hybrid! The theme of people living longer than they should who've peeped the horrors and the evidence lies in their eyes being fucked up looking goes strong here.
