"The Palestinian Islamic Jihad is often viewed in the west as an "extremist" group, mostly a misunderstanding based on their oh-so "scary" name. Last Monday I was speaking to a Palestinian with considerable knowledge on the Palestinian resistance factions, and he told me something very interesting about the PIJ. The PIJ is a fighting organization, not a political organization in the traditional sense. Unlike Hamas, Fatah or even the PFLP, the PIJ do not have any set-in-stone vision for a future Palestinian state. The PIJ does not envision political leadership in a liberated Palestine. Their political program makes it abundantly clear that they will leave political decision-making up to the Palestinian people. Their refusal to engage in bureaucratic politics also makes them the only resistance group none of their other groups dare to criticize. By solely focusing on the armed struggle, the PIJ would never be involved in murky corruption scandals like other groups have been in the past.

The PIJ is a moderately religious organization, and perhaps one could argue even more moderate than Hamas. Their political program calls for the total unification of the Islamic nation between both Sunnis and Shias, and envisions the fostering of a democratic culture in which all internal disputes can be resolved in a respectful and grounded manner without the interference of foreign powers.

Palestinian hunger striker Khader Adnan, who passed away in May this year due to starvation from his hunger strike, was affiliated with the PIJ and served as their spokesman in the early 2000s. He was a respected figure by all Palestinians across the political spectrum and would often be seen mingling with student groups from all factions. Khader Adnan was, in many ways, the physical embodiment of the political catch-all nature of the PIJ."

Why do westerners feel the need to defend the word jihad? “It just means struggle and it can even be an internal religious struggle,” they say.

Sure, it can be. But it frequently isn’t. The Armenian genocide, Assyrian genocide, Greek genocide, and numerous pogroms against the Jews were carried out during WWI in the name of Jihad.

To countless people around the world, the word Jihad means violence and death. It doesn’t need to be “destigmatized;” the liberal west needs to be more sensitive to how triggering a term it is.

several hundreds of tons of explosive have been dropped on Gaza- there is no official new number, but from my calculation, over 2000 targets were hit. There is nonstop bombing of Gaza.

Israeli authorities have publicly told Gazians to flee to Egypt for their safety. there are reports that Hamas is ordering citizens to stay around places that are known to be marked to be bombed. Egypt shown displeasure with the idea that they will have to take the fleeing Gazians in, and told Israel off for telling the Gazians to flee to Egypt. The Rafah Border Crossing is being opened and closed periodically due to Egypt and Israeli actions.

Gazians are struggling to get people out of the rubble- therefore numbers are probably bigger.

Hamas reported that at least 4 prisoners were killed as a result of the bombing- I don’t have confirmation of more.

Hamas issued Monday night a warning that if Israel will not stop attacking they will start killing captives- no new information in the matter.

Lebanon situation is messy. The Jihad and Hezbollah on one side and the IDF on the other are attacking each other with gunfire and missile fire were exchanged. Unknown number of casualties- looking for more.

yesterday Hamas gave out a telegram warning to Ashkelon citizens to get out of the city before 17:00, at that time they started a barrage of rockets. the warning was not covered in Israeli media (at least that I could see).

there are still attempts to enter Israel by Hamas operatives, most are killed immediately.

The military wing of the Islamic Jihad publishes a video in which it claims to show exchanges of fire between its operatives and IDF forces in eastern Khan Yunis.

Note that all Islamic Jihad military operatives are dressed in civilian clothes so they can blend in well with the civilian population. If they are killed, the Palestinians will claim that Israel is killing civilians, when these are military operatives par excellence.

This is also what Hamas does.

Second of all, I see some women here. Ladies, when you wear your burka, make sure only your eyes are visible. Everything else must be covered. Also, please remember that women are not allowed to drive, and you must have a male guardian when traveling. Oh, and if you do decide to travel, please be very careful of where you're going, since entrance for women is restricted in many public places.

Also, don't let anyone see you read, they really hate women learning. Or singing. Or talking. What else? Oh, if you get pregnant, you can't have an abortion and if you get divorced you cannot get custody of the kids.

I feel like I'm forgetting something.

Oh yes, and this is for everyone: no alcohol, no music, no public display of affection, no sex outside marriage, no gays of course.

And I think that's pretty much it.

The westerners who get upset that the names of birds aren't "inclusive" enough and lost their minds when Elon took over Twitter, chant "free Palestine" to cheer on the expansion of a murderous Islamic terrorist organization which will subjugate everyone in the area under a strict fundamentalist religious regime that they would never, ever, ever visit. Ever.

There is no appalling Captain Marvel films in Sharia. There's no TikTok dancing memes in Sharia. There's no bold glamor filter in Sharia. There's no "fUcK TeH PaTrIaRcHy" iPhone Plus cases in Sharia. There's no half-naked drunk-ass bints punching each other up in the middle of the street in Sharia.
