Well, hello all once again. Considering that the last time I discussed BNHA, it was in an overwhelmingly negative context, I've decided it would be a good plan to actually talk about an aspect of the series that makes me really happy and one that I constantly eagerly await new content for. And yes, it's none other than the good old League of Villains.
So, since I have nothing better to do, I've decided to discuss each and every Leaguer in order of my favourite to least favourite (although I at the very least appreciate all of them.) Keep in mind that the rejected Vanguard Action Squad members who were either written out of the story during the Training Camp arc or shortly afterwards will not appear on my list (Although Muscular and Moonfish and hopefully Mustard do seem to be making a return), nor will I discuss the additional members that came with the formation for the PLF, because although I really like Re-Destro in particular, none of them really give me enough to work with and I'd be writing like two sentences for someone like Geten, which would just be a slap in the face to people who do care about his character. Also, Doctor Garaki and All for One also won't appear. Basically just the core members who have been present with the League from the Training Camp up until the War will be featured.
Anyway, I've wasted enough time, let us proceed without any further ado.
Tenko Shimura [Tomura Shigaraki] - Yes, it really shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone to see good old Shig ranked at the very top of my list. Yes, as I have said before, Tomura tends to flip between being my favourite and second favourite overall character, but the reason I have listed him as the best League member is simply put, his development. My God, it is absolutely sublime. I legitimately adore it. When we first saw Tomura emerge from the underbelly of society during the USJ arc, he was a pampered, whimpering brat, a manchild who threw tantrums after he lost and essentially threatened to kill everyone, ranging from random children to his butler. I mean, can that even be compared to the same person who took command of an army, broke past his potential and meticulously pulled apart every threat he's stared down? Here's some food for thought, Shigaraki has never lost to another villain. He emerged the clear victor when facing Chisaki and the Meta Liberation Army and in the long term, proved to usurp Stain's legacy and make it his own. The growth is just amazing and Shigaraki is genuinely a more interesting character to follow than our door mat of a protagonist. I have very rarely seen an antagonist start out as exceptionally weak, essentially being a comedy villain of the week, and slowly growing in power, intellect and ferocity. Just a fantastic character overall.
Atsuhiro Sako [Mister Compress] - Alrighty, now we get down to the interesting stuff! Mister Compress is, without a doubt, my favourite Boku No Hero Academia character, he holds the top spot more consistently than Shig does. But why is that? After all, Sako had done essentially nothing from the Training Camp up until his reveal. Well, you see, I am of the belief that a character need not be particularly deep as long as they have an engrossing personality. And Mister has that in spades. I am a huge fan of characters who know how to articulate themselves well, so of course Atsuhiro's constant metaphors and showman persona appealed to me instantly. But not just that, his design (and no, I'm not just talking about how hot we now know him to be) is just brilliant. The top hat, the masks that change to reflect his general emotion at the time, his bolo tie, he has a fucking badass prosthetic for Christ's sake. And remember, as the great Joseph Joestar proved, prosthetic hands in fiction are kickass. I just love him, even as a character who never contributed all that much overall, and I certainly hope for his return in some capacity following the shocking twist of him actually doing something during the war.
Jin Bubaigawara [Twice] - Rest in peace my friend, rest in peace indeed. But really, what can be said about good old Jin? Well, he was fantastic, easily one of the best in the League. A truly sympathetic figure within the group, someone who we the audience could truly feel sad for. Out of everybody, Twice likely went through the worst of the trauma and at the end of the day, he just wanted to fit in somewhere, anywhere. He wanted friendships. And friendships he found in Mister and Toga, and to a lesser extent, Dabi, and a boss he truly respected could be found in Shigaraki. I was, as many others were, completely torn by Jin's death. This was the first major death of the war, and as we soon found out, unfortunately one of the only few overall (sorry, I know I promised to be positive, the war arc just really went to shit after chapter 294, which by the way was so far the last really good chapter to me.) Alas, the death made sense; Twice's arc was complete, he had overcome his fears and finally found a place of belonging. If any villain were to die, it made sense that he was the one. Truly a legendary character, one of the greats.
Himiko Toga - Ah, yes, the blood-soaked minx that has proven herself a constant thorn in the side of UA, whether they know it or not. Her whereabouts are currently unknown (maybe she's doing something involving Mister? Please, Hori?), but from what she has featured in, I have certainly loved her every appearance. Initially a typical psychotic "yandere UwU" girl, she's certainly evolved over time. Her proactive nature was revealed during the License Exam arc, In the Overhaul arc, we saw her care for others, during the MLA skirmish, we saw her backstory and motives made a little clearer and finally, during the war, she was pushed to her breaking point, in a rare example of a character from Oceaniz' War arc video who actually belonged in the tier he assigned them to. Yes, Ms. Toga has been one of those characters who has been given so much screen time due to her popularity that it has definitely benefited her in the long run, at the expense of characters like Mister and Spinner. She's not my favourite Leaguer, but still a brilliant character in her own right.
Shuichi Iguchi [Spinner] - Well, nearing the end of the list, we approach the first character that I am leaning more towards just liking as opposed to really liking. Spinner for the longest time, did fuck all. Actually, he's still basically done fuck all. Mostly a self-admitted aimless Stain fanboy who provides running commentary. But, remember what I said about a good personality making up for a weak presence? Well, Iguchi is not quite as strong as Sako in that regard, but the little lizard boy has certainly grown on me. We've seen him grow into the moral centre of the League, being the only other member aside from Mister Compress to presumably have a body count of zero, and as I mentioned above, has even admitted to himself and Shigaraki that he's a hollow fanatic of Stain, that he leapt on the bandwagon because he thought it would give him purpose in his meandering life. And ultimately, it did, as Shuichi has evolved to becoming one of the most positive members of the team. I mean, for God's sake, he even pleads with All for One to rescue Compress and Toga before they fled the battlefield, that alone skyrocketed my respect for him as a character.
Touya Todoroki [Dabi] - Well… Here we are… The only League of Villains member that I would generally say I dislike. And that's not to say I don't see the merits to him, I'm just not huge on it. Dabi is the League's edgy boi, he dresses up in a way that only a blind person would approve of, is too cool for anybody else and is essentially a big bundle of daddy issues. Now, the recently-released Chapter 301 absolutely tanked my respect for him as a character, with him being portrayed as an awkward, foul-tempered brat, but I never have held him in the highest regard. The whole bad boy shtick just isn't my thing, Dabi is a shining example of the opposite of my belief about a character; I really dislike his personality, but he contributes enough to the overall plot that I wouldn't quite consider him a bad character. I don't know, he's a weird one, and not one I've ever been fond of. Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I mean, when even pre-Overhaul arc Shigaraki calls you out on being a rude piece of shit, you know there's a problem somewhere.
Well, those are my collected thoughts on the members of the League of Villains. Maybe I'll do another one of these sometime, talking about the Vanguard members, maybe combined in a double feature with All for One and Garaki. Another time, perhaps. Another time…
Moral of the story, the villains are the best BNHA characters, fight me on this.

mafia boss!hongjoong x mafia boss!oc
masterlist
Tumblr media
words: 1.6K
warnings: mentions of mafia/violence
She blamed the sudden buzzing of her phone for the scene in front of her. The once neat pile of books were scattered across the floor. She just stared at them for a moment, regretting her existence.
That was totally the phone's fault. Totally not because my dumb ass thought it could carry a pile of books taller than myself. Ara kept staring at the mess for a while, finally snapping out of her trance as she realised her phone was still buzzing.
'Yeoboseyo?' she answered the phone, still considering whether she still had the motivation to pick every book back up or whether she should just sprawl on the floor with them.
'You need to get here right now.' Ara recognised the voice on the other side instantly. Shooting up, she walked past the mess. Hwa Young sounded worried. She rarely ever sounded worried.
'Where are you, I'll be there in 5.'
'Dorms, hurry up.' The call disconnected and Ara didn't even bother shoving her coat on properly. She ran out to see the bus leaving. The next bus going in the direction of the dorms wasn't arriving until God-Knows-When. Making her decision in a split second, Ara started sprinting. The dorms were only a few blocks down, she could make it in five minutes easily.
Her legs were aching by the time she was opening the door, but the tension gathering in her head was too prominent for her body to register the pain. Hwa Young was sitting in the living room, staring at her laptop, Hyun beside her. They all looked up the moment she walked in.
From the way Hyun was fiddling with her hands and Hwa avoided her gaze, she braced herself for the worst.
'What's wrong?' she asked.
'Ara... the market skyrocketed just after half our stock went missing.' Ara stood there, trying to process her words.
'Half our stock?' Ara exclaimed. 'How? I leave soldiers at the warehouse on surveillance 24/7.'
'Whoever managed to steal half our stock must've been pretty smart. Either that or one of our own soldiers was stupid enough to work with someone on the outside. Either way, it couldn't have been carried out alone. You need someone on the outside to do something this big and precise,' Hyun said. Ara nodded. Without any further conversation, she headed to her room, Hwa and Hyun heading to theirs. Once they stepped out, they all wore identical trench coats to hide their clothes underneath.
The three of them departed the dorms quickly, finding themselves in a dark alleyway soon enough. As they walked further and further into the darkness, they shed themselves of the coats, left in their black and leather. Slipping three caps out of the handbag she was holding, Ara handed one to each of the girls on her sides. Setting her handbag down in space between the crumbling bricks, Ara neatly folded her coat and placed on a black face mask. Hyun and Hwa did the same.
By the time the three of them were on the other side of the alley, emerging into the bustling streets of Seoul once again, they were unrecognisable. Any person who had seen them on the other side would never be able to tell it was them.
Ara slowly made her way through the crowd, losing the other two girls as they always did when they approached large masses. She headed in the direction of the hardware store squished between the mall and the food court. Despite its small size, it was always full of people with their broken phones and malfunctioning laptops. Little did they know that just beneath the thriving business, was one of the country's most wanted and illegal bases. The small yet popular nature of the store made the store the last place the police would think to look.
On that particular day, the store was as busy as usual. Through the clamouring and crying over devices, Ara went unnoticed as she slipped into the janitor's closet right at the back. Grabbing her phone, she turned on the flash and started tracing the wall's outline. Her fingers grazed against a small but obvious indent and she pressed down.
A faint click sounded and a panel slid out of the wall. Ara stepped through it, placing the panel back behind her. Once she was sure that it had clicked into place and no one had seen or heard her, she flicked on the switch to her right. The inside of the room she had stepped into illuminated into life. A set of staircases awaited her. Just as she was making her way down, Hyun appeared, walking down from the stairs above. She must've taken the entrance from the old karaoke booth above the hardware store.
'Hwa's already inside,' the younger girl informed, catching up to Ara. Ara nodded, leading the way down. They went down two more flights before approaching a door. As soon as Ara's hand met the handle, something in her chest relaxed. A twist of the cold metal revealed her life's work.
'Where is our stock now?' Hwa shouted, already walking around the rows of people all operating computers. One of the techies piped up and replied, 'The trackers say it's somewhere in the outskirts of Seoul but live satellite images show there isn't anything there. They probably dumped the trackers before they took it too far.' Ara could see Hwa's irritation steadily rising. On the other hand, Hyun just laughed, scanning one of the monitors.
'I have to give it to whoever did this. They not only managed to steal from the biggest mafia in Seoul, but they managed to get away with it half-an-hour before anyone realised anything,' she laughed.
'baeB, now's not the time for jokes,' Ara said, addressing the girl by her mafia alias. Hyun just shook her head, laughing at the screen.
'Roze,' Ara turned to Hwa, 'do you think you can find out who it was within an hour? We need to get back into the market quickly. Otherwise, we'll lose this opportunity. Our next hit is essential and we need the profit from our sales for supplies.' Hwa nodded, heading to the Administration Office the three of them shared. Ara and Hyun followed her. Hwa sat down at her desk and started typing away and everyone knew that within an hour they would know exactly who had taken their stock and within two, the culprit would be destroyed.
On the other hand, Hyun started strapping on the various weapons hanging on the opposite wall. As she sheathed her iconic twin daggers onto her thigh straps, she walked over to Ara.
'I'm going to take one of the capos and her soldiers to the stock warehouse and check it out for any evidence. You wanna join?' she asked. Ara shook her head. As the boss of the mafia, she kept minimal contact with the soldiers. baeB should have done the same as the underboss; she had an army of caporegimes and soldiers to do the dirty work for her. While baeB rarely went on missions, she joined investigations every once in a while when she was "in the mood". What pleasure she found in getting involved was lost to Ara, but she let her do what she wanted nonetheless. There was no stopping baeB when she made up her mind.
'Of course, big boss lady ZH won't join,' Hyun chuckled. Tapping Ara's shoulder as she walked past her, Hyun called out, 'I'll call you if I find anything. And tell Roze to let me know if she finds anything.' With that, the girl disappeared through one of the side doors, probably to contact one of her favourite caporegimes. Ara shook her head before sighing and taking her seat at her desk.
Her head was pounding from the lack of sleep due to the exams she had coming up. She would have to deal with their failing finances, which meant meeting up with associates who were to be profited from their sales and also breaking into her personal bank to pay for the supplies for the upcoming hits. While one part of her started listing all the things that needed to be done for the mafia, her other half was occupied with thoughts on how she would finish studying for the psychology finals. She had an exam scheduled for the next morning.
Burying her head in her hands, she took a deep breath. Whichever idiot had stolen from NTMR would be ripped limb from limb once she found them. She wondered if she would join baeB in torturing them as compensation for all the trouble she was going through.
Ara grabbed her laptop and started scheduling meetings. Just as she was about to send an email to one of her higher-up associates, Roze called her from the other side of the room. ZH shot up and walked over to her. As she did, her phone buzzed.
'Hey, baeB, what's up?' she asked.
'The situation is... interesting to say the least. I'll send the soldiers back to base. Get here as soon as you can.' With that, baeB cut the call. Roze looked up at her.
'What did she say?'
'Not much. Anyway, what did you find?'
Roze spun her laptop around. 'Looks like we have a few guests. I only got a name.' Ara raised a brow. It was odd for Roze to struggle with the set of skills the girls possessed.
'Well?'
Roze clicked on a tab, pages upon pages upon pages of numbers and letters Ara didn't understand popping up. Roze highlighted a singular word on the page.
'ATEEZ.'

A/N: Where are all my Atinys at??
Honestly, this was meant to be a Seonghwa x OC fanfiction, but one of the side couples became waaaay too interesting, so they became the mains. The original OC is still a character in the story, with Seonghwa as her main love interest so not to worry.
Oh and here's the law of being an Atiny: Even if Hongjoong isn't your bias, he's your bias.
Sorry, I don't make the rules :)
Luv y'all!!! (^ 3^)

Dating T’Challa would include:
Tumblr media
Tagging @idontgiveaflyinggrayson69
(If you have a character you want to see written, or you want to be tagged, PM me and I’ll add it/you to the list.)
You met at the Wakandan outreach centre’s opening night as an American journalist covering the event.
Everything there was so nice, pristine and pure and proper. Diplomats from across the world were crowded in the large ballroom, wearing fine clothes and expensive jewellery, drinking expensive wine and laughing politely at one another. It was very hoity-toity, and very not you.
You were a total fish out of the water. You were a total misfit. You were, well, a reporter, and judging by the harsh glares the diplomats were giving you, they knew it.
You had given up on trying to talk to anyone a long time ago, and left annoying the king’s guard, wakandan security teams and anyone else who looked vaguely important to the other reporters. Instead, you snuck down a corridor and found yourself in the museum area of the Outreach Centre. It was empty, and part of you knew you probably shouldn’t be there, but it was so beautiful and you couldn’t bring yourself to tear away and go back to that loud room full of stuck-up people.
Glass cases lined every wall displaying Wakandan artefacts. You loved all of it, becoming more entranced by the second. In fact, at one point, you completely blocked out everything around you and just walked the room, reading and rereading every tablet, every piece of information. It startled you, and it excited you.
This was new and amazing and incredible. You blocked out the outside world so much that you didn't hear voice calling out your name until someone placed a hand on your shoulder. Instantly, you snapped back into reality, pulling away and shrieking like a banshee. It was not a particularly lady-like sound. You turned to face your attacker, ready to throw a mediocre-at-best punch or swear up a god-damn storm, and found the beautiful chocolate brown eyes of the king of Wakanda himself staring back at you.
OH SHIT.
You quickly tried to regain your composure. "Your majesty, I'm so sorry. I know I’m not supposed to be here. I just..." You mumbled, looking down at the ground, embarrassment evident in the blush on your your cheeks. "I'll leave..." You said, moving to his left. He softly grabbed your arm, stopping you.
"Don't be absurd, it was my fault. I shouldn't have snuck up on you like that. Didn't you hear my approach? I called your name." He paused. "You are Y/N, correct?" He asked.
Holy shit, he knows your name. The king of Wakanda knows your name. for a moment, you hated yourself for taking up precious brain space in his gorgeous mind.
Wait, what?
You shook your head, trying to gather yourself and not appear like a total idiot. "Yes, I'm Y/N." You said, holding out your hand for him to shake. You got a pleasant surprise when he raised it to his lips and kissed the back sweetly. You could feel your cheeks reddening and butterflies taking flight in your stomach.
"Thank you." You said, subconsciously rubbing the back of your hand with your thumb where he had kissed. You looked around nervously at the empty room, which seemed much smaller now he was here. “If you don’t mind me asking, how do you know my name?“
“I memorised the list of journalists we invited, in case we have a issue with any of them.” His face darkened for a second and your mind flashed back to the reporters flocking around his sister like pigeons, asking her a thousand stupid questions, and her overwhelmed and slightly scared expression.
“I’m sorry about that... About them. This is a special occasion and a beautiful gala, and you shouldn’t have to put up with them.“ You said, following his distant gaze.
”Speaking of which, you don’t seem to be enjoying yourself? What brought you here?" He asked, walking around a glass case of tribal masks.
"I'm an international reporter- or, at least, I'm trying to be- My paper keeps trying to clip my wings, making me do those stupid little buzzword Facebook articles with no real journalism, just pandering to an aisle for click-bait." You groan sadly, thinking about your seemingly dead-in-the-water-career.
T'Challa spoke thirty different languages, and yet somehow he only understood half of the words in that sentence.
"So I gotta make this article good, you know? Not that that will be difficult, this place is amazing!" your entire tone shifted as you fangirled relentlessly. "I mean, look at this!" you said, gesturing to the cabinets with a childish sense of awe and wonder. You pointed to your favourite things, asking questions and rambling facts about African life that you knew like an overactive toddler. You couldn't help yourself. You were so interested in this stuff.
He smiled. You were making an absolute idiot of yourself but damned if you weren't also absolutely adorable.
You were there for about half an hour, just talking about your respective lives. He told you about Wakanda and the lives of his people and you told him all about America and the way thinks happened here. Eventually one of his guards came in and guided him back to the gala, but before he left he gave you a number on a napkin.
“If you’d like, you can interview me one-on-one sometime. You know, for your article.”
“Yes, I love that.“ You paused, pursing your lips into a subtle smirk. “Do you give this opportunity to all the journalists you invite to events?“
He chuckled and shook his head. “No, this is just for you. You're special.” He said, throwing a subtle wink at you that made your heart leap up into your mouth. Then his guard whisked him away and he was gone, and you were left alone in that museum.
One date turned into two dates and then five and then ten and then, in the blink of an eye, before you could even properly process it, you were dating the king of Wakanda.
He works a lot, and obviously lives in Wakanda while your career keeps you solidly in America, so Skype dates are a big thing in your relationship.
At the start of your relationship, he wasn’t that into public displays of affection, and you’re both able to keep your relationship secret for a few months before word slips out and you two make the decision to go public.
Once you’re revealed as T’Challa’s partner, your career did a MASSIVE 360 and skyrocketed upwards. Every magazine, newspaper and TV show wanted a piece of you, or rather a piece of T’Challa they though that they could get through you.
You’re far too smart for that though, and you never give it to them.
After your relationship went public, he became slightly more affectionate, holding your hand as you two walked and pressing kisses to your hairline when he knows there’s a camera watching.
He keeps the photos every time.
He takes you to fancy events whenever he’s in America, charity galas or state dinners, and when he does he shows a side to him that you very rarely see. The possessive side.
He keeps one arm around your waist practically the whole time you’re there. He looks at you like you’re made up of stars, so beautiful that he couldn’t look away.
This bastard has NO CLUE the value of money. He’s INSANELY rich and he’s been catered too by a horde of people basically his entire life, so he has an understandable distance from the value of currency. So naturally, he showers you with affection economically.
These aren’t small gifts either. For your two month anniversary, he sent you traditional Wakandan jewellery laced with vibranium and precious stones. For your six month anniversary, he bought you a solid gold rose worth more than your car. For your birthday, he paid off the mortgage debt on your apartment.
And for your one year anniversary, he took you to Wakanda.
Wakanda is the most beautiful place you have ever had the honour of seeing. You loved the forests and the rivers, and the clothing and the beautiful foods. You wanted to explore every inch of this beautiful plain.
Standing on his balcony, overlooking the bustling heart of Wakanda, you turned to him, smirking. “Do you give this opportunity to all the journalists that come your way?”
T’Challa chuckled, threading his arms around your shoulders to pull you close to his chest. “No, this is just for you. You're special.“
The Wakandan people aren’t quick to trust you. Shuri and Ramonda are kind to you but you get the sense that they don’t trust you just yet. You understand. You’re not from around here, and you know they need time and you need to prove yourself worthy of there trust.
The Dora are similar but they honestly scare you a little bit. You know that they are kind women and they don’t mean to be so intimidating towards you but there weaponry knowledge and cold demeanours makes it hard.
You know you’re not universally accepted, but you don’t really mind.
You are so unbelievably in love with him, and he loves you right back.
