Day Three: March 31, 2018 | Arrived at Chandra Villa, Bali
You may see what we did today over here.
Tumblr media
It was time to go back to Seminyak and on the ride back, we noticed these women dressed in white. I’m thinking they are also celebrating Holy Week in their own religion and tradition. The picture below confirms it because they have a table filled with offerings for a ritual though this is a wild guess.
Tumblr media
I fell asleep after taking the photos above since the it took us an hour or so to get back. We arrived at Chandra Villa for another check-in and rain poured so hard so we had to borrow the umbrellas of the place in order for us to get to our respective villas.
Tumblr media
So I guess, you can say we did villa hopping. Lol, this is basically our third booking during our whole trip here in Bali. I’ll give you guys a tour around the place as well.
Tumblr media
As soon as we got to settle down in this villa and the rain stopped pouring, I had to take a dip, of course, and the water was really cold while watching some tv and drinking soft drinks--which is free, btw. The villa came with a pool and for some reason, I find night swimming therapeutic to me.
Tumblr media
The living room is outdoors which is pretty cool. They have Netflix on their tv and this was the first time I tried using it. It was still new back home but it wasn’t as popular as it is now. I remember after swimming, I browsed through Netflix trying to see what I can watch and I came upon Korean Odyssey and instantly watched two episodes straight.
Tumblr media
I couldn’t watch another episode since I’m already feeling tired. It’s time for me to sleep since tomorrow is another day!
See here what we’re doing on the next day.

Day Two: March 30, 2018 | Alas Kedaton Monkey Forest, Bali
This isn’t our first destination upon arriving at Bali, if you’re looking for where we went first, then click this.
Tumblr media
Our second destination for today is the monkey forest! The drive took less than 30 minutes to arrive. It’s really hot outside so glad that the van has aircon. The kind of heat that bites your skin.
Tumblr media
Upon arriving at the destination, there were monkeys already at the parking area. I didn’t know the place was huge once we started walking around. If I remember correctly, we had to pay an entrance before getting to the place.
Tumblr media
There were lots of the monkeys in different sizes. My mom and a family friend was so scared because they might take our stuff. The tour guide said just put your hands up to let them know you don’t have anything with you especially food. I couldn’t stop laughing at their facial expressions once a monkey comes near them. They would literally freeze, lol.
Tumblr media
Not only there were monkeys here but also huge bats! You could stand there and take a photo with them as well making it part of the attraction here and of course, it came with a fee. My dad took a photo with the bats and he was holding one as well that made me realize these bats aren’t ordinary bats but they are humongous.
Tumblr media
Walking through the place, I saw these cute baby monkeys. Look how small they are! We basically toured the whole area, so it’s time for our next destination.
Check out here where we’re going next!

Day Three: March 31, 2018 | Ceking Rice Terraces, Bali
This is now our second destination for today. It took us less than thirty minutes to get here since it’s just nearby from the restaurant where we ate our lunch over here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They had stores and cute cafes and restaurants that gives you this view. You can also go down and walk around the rice terraces. You can even reach to the other side of the picture above.
.
Tumblr media
So to be honest, this is my first time to be in a rice terraces, I find it funny because back home in the north, we have an attraction spot which is called the Banaue Rice Terraces. I haven’t been there but my parents and older siblings did .
Tumblr media
Now that I’m in Bali, far away from home, visiting places like this when we have one back home and to think this is my first time.
Tumblr media
They have this huge swing where your background is the rice terraces and it’s Instagram worthy. I guess that’s how this place got it’s popularity. And now look, I’m on the other side of where I was earlier.
Tumblr media
We literally went down, up and repeat to get here. It’s such a pity though that the whole time here, it was very cloudy and not much sun shown on us. The pictures would’ve come out better if it was sunny since it was drizzling awhile ago as well. After taking this picture, we went back because the seniors were already tired. Now it is time to hit the road again, but where are we going?
Check out here where we’re going next!

Day Three: March 31, 2018 | Bebek Joni Restaurant, Bali
Backstory over here.
Today marks our third day in Bali and our first stop is Bebek Joni Restaurant. The place was quite far from where we stayed and it took us probably an hour or so to get here just in time for lunch.
Tumblr media
It’s not just a restaurant but it’s a restaurant with a view. As we arrived and settled down on our table, we ordered their specialty which I forgot was called.
Tumblr media
While waiting for our order, I decided to look around as the family talks about stuff. The place consists of a huge rice field if I’m correct. I guess the food they’re serving comes from this source which is really cool and a big save to expenses as well.
Tumblr media
Not only did it consist of a rice field but also this small pond that had fishes in them. As you can see in the picture above that it is drizzling. When we arrived, it was very gloomy and now it finally drizzled.
Tumblr media
They also had this statue of a lady which I think is their god or something. I really don’t know. On the side of this picture which can’t be seen, there’s an empty small nipa hut which means stilt house in English where you can sit barefoot. It had a table in the center and it reminded me of home, tbh.
Tumblr media
As the rain poured harder than it did, it was time to go back to where the family is. It’s just in time that the food also arrived. We ordered their specialty which is called “bebek” that means crispy fried duck in English (I searched it btw, lol).
Tumblr media
As I tasted their specialty, it reminded me of a certain food back home. It looks like Sunburst Chicken (which is my fave non-fast food Chicken restaurant) but taste like Crispy Pata, lol. Crispy Pata is a specialty back home which I basically fried pork. Anyway, over all, the restaurant is a meh for me but if you want a view. I suggest this place but it’s just quite far from the center of Bali. It’s time for our next destination now that we just ate our lunch.
See here where we’re heading off to next!

Day Two: March 30, 2018 | Tanah Lot, Bali
Backstory over here.
For today’s first time ever to tour in Bali, our first stop is Tanah Lot. According to the tour guide, the attractions here are scattered all over Bali. In the city, not so much to see compared to the farther ones.
Tumblr media
As soon as we arrived, we were greeted with these vendors selling mats. They all look so pretty and the first one to shop it is my mom. It’s still the first day and she already starts it with shopping. That’s my mom for you.
Tumblr media
They had this long walkway before getting to the actual tourist spot. It took awhile for us to reach the tip of this because my mom won’t stop looking around at the things these vendors are selling. I decided to go on ahead first.
Tumblr media
It’s the seaaa! There are lots of people here and the place is huge. You can see it on the pictures below.
Tumblr media
There is this part where you stand and on the rock and waves come crashing on to it making a really good back drop though down side is you’ll probably be getting wet after.
Tumblr media
Bali here always had these kind of things. I guess you call it a gate, something similar like in Japan. They have this monkeys or rather creatures beside that seems like they are guarding the gate. I’ve seen this as well multiple times on Instagram or any photo that is relevant to Bali. Wanting to take one with it too but it’s just crowded.
Tumblr media
We actually came from over there earlier. Like I said, the place is huge. The place where I am right now is overlooking of the ocean.
Tumblr media
This is the other side of the place. I wonder if you can go down there. The waves look pretty cool but not enough to surf, I guess.
Tumblr media
According to Google, Tanah Lot is a rock formation and consists of a temple (which was on the other side of the place).
Tumblr media
We didn’t take long here because we had other places to go to. We took a few pictures here and there and it was time to go on our next destination.
Find out here where we’re going next!

Day Five: April 2, 2018 | Dinner at  Jimbaran Beach, Bali
Back story here.
Before we got here, we went to an outlet store to do some last minute shopping. I wasn’t able to take photos because I left my camera at the van and that I didn’t really need it since we’re going shopping. Me and my sister didn’t really shop because it’s quite expensive for an outlets. It’s nothing compared to the US outlets, so we basically just walked around the outlets since it was quite big. Coming here after, makes it our fifth stop for today and we’re just in time for the sunset.
Tumblr media
The place consists of a long shoreline with resorts and restaurants beside each other that faces the beach. There were horses and it’s weird seeing horses by the beach. It looks like one of those music videos or in movies where you’re riding a horse by the shoreline. I also think it’s one of their attractions to do here.
Tumblr media
Not only did it have a really long shoreline but basically a view of the island and that it’s near the airport which means you can see as the airplane departs and arrives Bali.
Tumblr media
Here you can see that the airplane departs Bali. Through our whole stay here, I think me and my dad counted about thirty seven airplanes we saw departing and arriving at their airport.
Tumblr media
As the sun was setting, there were fireworks somewhere far but you can see it since it’s still by the beach. When we arrived, we only ordered appetizers which was grilled corn. Something new that I didn’t really thought of because back home we ate our corn steamed with butter and margarine. But grilling it, I guess it’s okay.
Tumblr media
But as soon as it got dark, we ordered dinner and I remember having seafood. While we enjoyed the food and the sunset, there were local men with guitars playing live acoustic music for the people in the restaurant and the ones by the beach.
Tumblr media
As I finished my dinner, I stayed closer to the shoreline since the elders were having chat chats as always. I wanted to enjoy more of the sunset and breathe it in.
Tumblr media
I remember playing Heartstring by Kolohe Kai in the background and it’s just so perfect. As I hear the waves crashing, it makes me feel happy and peaceful.
Tumblr media
And whenever I listen to the song, this exact moment pops out of my head like a dream. But it was time to face reality, and leave the place.
See here where we’re off to.

Day Two and Three: March 30-31, 2018 | The Ulin Villas, Bali
Back story over here.
This is our last destination for today and no, it’s not a tourist attraction. It’s another hotel--well, more like a villa. As we arrived, we were checking in and giving our passports. Only to realize, I don’t have mine with me. I traced back where I last took it out and realized I left it the the hotel where we first stayed at. I remember when we checked-out, we had to give them our passports and I forgot to get mine back.
Tumblr media
Our family friend immediately called the hotel and safe to say that they kept it with them. A huge sigh of relief but now I have to get ready for some scolding. I told the rest to go on ahead first and relax once the check-in process was finished because I didn’t want to hassle everyone in the group especially the seniors.
Tumblr media
So, me and the family friend rode a cab to the first hotel. Got my passport and went back to the villa. We finally completed the check-out process and it was time for me to relax. This is a first time for me to be clumsy especially that I’m in a foreign country. My parents were mad at me for being so careless and I was very grateful that our family friend stepped up and helped me out. You know who you are, thank you Achi!
Tumblr media
As soon as I was able to settle down, I had to take a good look at our villa! So this is a first time for me to be staying in a villa. Typically, we only stay at hotels or do Airbnb of a whole house. I can say, staying in a villa, is a fancy and luxurious lifestyle.
Tumblr media
I love the bathroom because it came with some bubble baths which I’ll be trying later. Part of the villa also means, you have your own pool. Talk about privacy, I’m so into it!
Tumblr media
But to me, the best part is that everything that’s in the villa is all yours. Of course, except the furniture. They had free wine which is crazy! (You can really see how this is literally my first time staying in the villa. The excitement, omg.) Everything in the fridge is all yours as well. Today’s been a long day. I took a dip to fully relax and slept a few hours after. It’s time to hit the hay and finally rest.
Tumblr media
What a good morning it is today, Bali!
First thing is first, started my morning by swimming in the pool and doing some sun bathing afterwards. I then took a bubble bath which was really fun and I think a first for me. After, we had to go to the villa of our family friend since we will be eating breakfast there I remember getting pancakes for breakfast.
Tumblr media
As we finished our breakfast, it was time to go back to the villa to prepare for today’s adventure. We had to pack up and since everything in the villa is free, we hoarded everything. We even brought the free wine, lol. Anyways, I’m wondering where we’re going to today!
Check here to see what we’re doing today.

Day Five: April 2, 2018 | Bali Airport
Where we’ve been to over here.
Yes, we’re at the airport which means that we’re leaving already. Today was apparently our last day here in Bali.
Tumblr media
The time was really short but there’s even more reason to come back here and this time be complete with the family. I was shocked that their airport is open. When we checked in, it was like we were outside. The air-conditioning places where were the gates were.
Tumblr media
Usually, when you go to an airport, they’re usually closed but this was the first time for me to experience an open airport unless if you were at the departure gates. They even had this monkey statue which I think is their god. I mean they have lots of gods, tbh.
Tumblr media
At this time, there was only one scheduled flight for PAL which was leaving at 11pm since they just newly opened this flight destination.
Tumblr media
I wasn’t able to sleep on the ride and decided to take photos of the stars. The sky is so beautiful and very peaceful as well. It’s time to say goodbye to Bali! The stay was short but I loved every bit of it. Wishing I can go back here in the future.
Check here where we’re arriving to.

Day Five: April 2, 2018 | Uluwatu Temple, Bali
Backstory over here.
When we arrived, the name of the place doesn’t sound familiar until we looked around.
Tumblr media
Lo and behold, it’s the famous cliff that I almost always see whenever I search Bali in Google, Pinterest or even here on Tumblr.
Tumblr media
The pretty waves that splashes from down below. The sea today looks really calming, wave after wave.
Tumblr media
There were more to look at here, but of course, we didn’t go inside the temple. We went the other way instead because the view up here is amazing.
Tumblr media
I guess that’s the thing here in Bali. There temples aren’t only about the temples, but the views. I only noticed this today after the past few day’s adventures.
Tumblr media
Looking at this made me wonder if we could swim and how can you go down there. Like I said earlier, the sea is calming from wave after wave.
Tumblr media
There were monkeys here too! We didn’t stay long here because we had to be somewhere else. I enjoyed the view and took loads of pictures.

Day Five: April 2, 2018 | Lunch at Warung Cikgo Restaurant, Bali
Backstory over here.
The drive took around fifteen minutes to get here from Dreamland Beach. If I remember correctly, they way to get here is going through a hill.
Tumblr media
Once we arrived, we ordered their specialty as usual and it’s their friend prawns. The serving time was fast since we were the only ones here. Their food is delicious btw. Looking at the picture above, is making me hungry.
Tumblr media
As we finished eating, we had little chit chats here and there and I decided to look around the place. I actually forgot the name of this and I tried to look for clues with the pictures I took and lo behlold, thank you sign that says “I love Cikgo” lol
Tumblr media
This is a fact! Good food is life! After our chit-chats, it’s time to explore again!
Let’s see where we’re going to next!

Day Five: April 2, 2018 | Dreamland Beach, Bali
Yesterday’s story over here.
So apparently, today is our last day here in Bali. I know, the time is too short. Well, there’s more reasons to come back this time with the family being complete.
Tumblr media
For today’s agenda, our first stop is Dreamland Beach. We had to pass  bridge to get there as you can see the photos below.
Tumblr media
Seeing their bridge, made me feel excited being a CE (Civil Engineering) student. I mean, it’s way better than the ones we have back home.
Tumblr media
They also had this cute temple that looks like it’s been Chinese-inspired as their toll gates.
Tumblr media
We have finally arrived at Dreamland Beach. This graffiti got me laughing because it’s so random. Who puts kidney beside a lady with flowers on her ear? I mean, lol.
Tumblr media
Here’s the beach! When we got to the shoreline, people were sunbathing because we arrived around 11am. The sun is up and it’s really hot.
Tumblr media
There were waves which looks enough to surf but most people here were just swimming under the heat of the sun.
Tumblr media
They also had this small cliff where you can go up and take pictures of the whole place. The beach isn’t pretty long compared to the one we went yesterday. But it is prettier and cleaner too which made me feel relieved.
Tumblr media
Of course, I had to take a photo op since the place is clean and the sun is out. The place is quite secluded but we didn’t take long because everyone was starting to get hungry.
See where we’re going off to next.

Day Four: April 1, 2018 | Strolling around Seminyak Square, Bali
How we started our day over here.
For today, we will just be at the center of Bali which is Seminyak Square. Before strolling, we went to look around for money exchange to exchange more money since our Rupiahs were running out.
Tumblr media
As we were strolling around, we were also trying to find a place to eat our lunch. After we were able to change the dollars to rupiahs, we found Yoshuken, which is a Japanese fast food restaurant. It was so hot so their air conditioning felt really good. W e were stuffed from our lunch which reminisce Japan, hoping we could go back soon. Anyways, where were we? Oh right, it’s time to walk again.
Tumblr media
We went to their public beach which took a while to arrive. I think the walk took around more than 10 minutes to get here and it was 12 noon which means the sun is right above us. I think I’ll get darker here just by strolling around. A s we got to the beach, they had this really long shoreline and look at the waves! There were some surfers out crashing and I was full of jealousy because I’ve been itching to surf again.
Tumblr media
But to be honest, the place made me feel disappointed. Why? Because of the trash around the beach, I guess it’s worse than the ones back home. I remember taking pictures here and I had to crop because there were just too many trash by the shore. There was even a mini dumpster by the sea with loads of trashes which made me really sick. I guess ocean pollution here is worse and I was right because I’ve searched it on the net and it’s one of the top five places of the most ocean pollution. The moment I found the dumpster, I was just out of the mood instantly and stopped adoring the place.
Tumblr media
Everyone, well mostly the seniors, were tired of the long walk we did by the beach and decided to go buy some souvenirs. So, we rode a cab to get to a souvenir shops and lo behold, we arrived at Krisna. This is basically a shopping mall of souvenirs which is really good tourism and to top it all off, it’s way cheaper than the ones you find on the streets. I had to buy souvenirs for my brothers since we weren’t complete and bought some really cute rattan bags which later was popular and I’m so happy to be able to buy it before the popularity rose. I’m the kind of person who doesn’t go by the trends, you see. We basically shopped ‘til we almost dropped until our stomachs grumbled and it’s time for dinner.
Tumblr media
The elders were craving for rice and something familiar so we ate at this Chinese restaurant called Dim Sum Inc. It was pretty weird to eat dimsumm in such a place like Bali.
Tumblr media
But the food was good, tbh. It was one of my comfort food back home. Now that we’re all stuffed, it was time to go back to our villa and sleep.
Let’s see what we’re doing tomorrow over here.

Day Four: April 1, 2018 | Mornings at Chandra Villa, Bali
What we did yesterday was here.
Good morning Bali! What a beautiful and sunny morning it is! Now that it’s morning, you can see clearly of what our villa looks like.
Tumblr media
Villas are known to have its own pool which is really cool and  private. Beside the pool, there is the chair where you can sunbathe.
Tumblr media
They also had this cute walkway to the room once you open the  main door.
Tumblr media
Hello, that’s me. Peeking through our restroom.
Tumblr media
My roommate for our stay here is my brother and as you can see out the window, that is the shower which is open and funny.
Tumblr media
The tour is now finished and it’s time to prep. We ate our breakfast at our family friend’s villa which was bigger than ours. I remember getting pancakes for bfast. My dad and sister took a dip at their pool which was also bigger than our villa. It was pretty cool because you could eat your breakfast in the pool. They place your food on a miniature boat that floats around the pool. After breakfast,
it was time to start our day over here.
