Okay so, I've been waving the Google Drive and Docs flag like it's my own personal banner for ages. I mean, it's been my ride or die, my trusty sidekick through countless projects and late-night writing sessions for over +6 years now. But in November last year, during Nanowrimo, I decided to get the trial for Scrivener after I saw the add when I completed the challenge. I installed it and chose to let it live in my computer but never "really" dipped toes in it cause Google Docs and Drive ARE my jam (and I hate changes but that's another topic for another day). So I decide to open it, you know, this april (I know it's ate but hey) ? But not gonna lie, I was skeptical.
I mean, the interface alone looked like it could swallow me whole, and my poor scattered attention span was already shaking in its boots. I would rather face a haunted house than an application full of features because me and technology ? When it works, I like it but when it doesn't, good God and pancakes above- But I did try. And went from skeptical to pleasantly surprised. Sure the interface looks scary af, too much stuff you gotta check out BUT-.... It's like the fairy godmother of organization swooped in and blessed my writing life. I'm talking files for days, characters and places neatly tucked away, notes that actually make sense, and research that feels like a breeze to manage. And the formatting? Don't even get me started. It's like having a magic wand that just waves away all my worries about how my writing should look. As someone who has spent way too much time fiddling with font sizes and margins, discovering that Scrivener takes care of that for me? It's like a weight lifted off my shoulders. Now, instead of obsessing over the perfect font, I can focus on what really matters – telling my story.
You can add files, images, pages links, anything really (not sure about videos yet though or music, gotta check this out). I hate organization because it means clearing up my ideas, maybe throwing some away but this is necessary and just because one doesn't make it in this one, doesn't mean she won't be there in another.
Like, seriously. I know, I know, it looks like a lot (and let's be real, it is), but I promise it's worth-it. So, if you're anything like me, drowning in a sea of half-baked ideas and forgotten plotlines with an attention span shorter than a butterfly's lifespan, do yourself a favor and give Scrivener a shot. Trust me, your future self will thank you for it.

💿 ᴏɴᴄᴇ ᴜᴘᴏɴ ᴛʜᴇ ᴇᴀʀʟʏ 2000ꜱ…
Trixie Taylor is asexual—she just doesn’t know that’s an option. So imagine her consternation, when the deadline for the virginity pact she made in eighth grade is now upon her. It’s her last high school party, and the entire graduating class has heard that Trixie’s ready to swipe her V-card tonight.
So. No time to panic.
Ready or not, she’s got someone in mind to help her…
Riot Shane is every bit the loser virgin his friends roast him for being, and way more than his rebel reputation suggests (things would be different if he’d get his GED and a haircut, but oh well). When incurable crush Trixie Taylor asks for his help, Riot finds himself playing fake boyfriend, real bodyguard, and the house party’s errand boy.
Welp. At least responsibility’s never looked as good as it does with his dream girl in the passenger seat.
Ready or not, the night’s only just begun…
ʜᴏᴡ ᴛᴏ ꜱᴜʀᴠɪᴠᴇ ᴀ ᴛᴇᴇɴ ꜱᴇx ᴄᴏᴍᴇᴅʏ : a millennial coming-of-age parody, is COMING SOON. follow the author for updates at these links!

That last ask made me check my Ingram Spark rates because I couldn't remember some stuff, and in case you're wondering what book distribution in Australia is like right now:
Country: Australia Recommended price: $ 29.99 Retailer Discount: 40% Compensation to author: $ 0.15
A thirty dollar book, and the author is earning 15 cents.
So, yeah. If you're ever upset that you're favorite author isn't available down under, we're so sorry. This is why.
We're being gouged left, right and center by the industry, and it's honestly not much better for the rest of the world either.
I'm earning just under $4 per book on US sales ($2.80 on Amazon because, lol, I was so stressed with Ingram I forgot to update the Zon. Price changes are pending.) for a book, I was forced to mark up to $24.99 because Ingram Spark made the 40% discount to retailers mandatory* as well as increasing the fee they take, and if I'd kept my books at $17.99, they would have taken it off the market because I would have been earning negative dollars.
In the span of a single year, my book went from $14.99 to $17.99 to $24.99 because of "inflation." And I'm earning, uh, well, in some cases, 15 cents.
Capitalism 🌈✨🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪
----
*They are still pushing us to give retailers a 55% discount, or we won't be stocked in stores. Because, aha, fuck our lives, I guess. I also suspect Ingram are not actually giving that discount to retailers, but I can't prove it beyond a couple of book retailers reaching out to me and Ingram never acknowledged my emails, so doubly fuck my life I guess.

SOMETHING'S NOT RIGHT IS OUT!
“A quietly fantastical wonderland of creatures, queerness, and possibility.” — Max Franciscovich @goose-books, author of Night Shift
The debut collection returns in a special fifth anniversary edition, repackaged with three new short stories, a new cover, and additional bonus content! A vampire is forced into a compromising situation; a father fears his child's growing plant collection; the undead go to high school; a butcher contemplates whether or not she can be loved. In a captivating debut, yves. opens the door to our world, slightly askew—where the crows work for witches and telephone booths serve as secret channels for prophecy; where a diverse cast of monsters and humans alike are forced to contend with what the world believes is right.
Thank you to everyone who made my weird uncategorizable "Lemony Snicket meets Carmen Maria Machado" speculative fiction an instant bestseller! If you’ve ever felt like a monster, this book is for you.
PRESS: KZSC interview | Santa Cruz Sentinel interview
EXCERPTED SHORT STORIES
BUY NOW!

Thank you so much for reading this post about my book. I hope you will share it, and this image of my beautiful black cat, Andy, widely. To queer weird fiction and indie pub! To you, Dear Reader, with love.

TCOT Progress Update #12
Started Editing Chapter 3!
I've been going rather slow lately to keep myself from burning out, but it's going pretty well :]
The Beginning of chapter 3 is my favorite part so far, so here's a little snippet!
------------------------------------------------------
Footsteps had always been easier to hear in silence. Today however, silence took its time gracing the forest’s soft emerald eyes. Sokuna wrapped her wings around her daughter, shrinking back into the darkness as far as she could.
“Mama?”
“Yes?” The shade ran a scaly hand through her daughter’s glossy hair. Her eyes darted towards the entrance of the cave, the distant flap of wings sending a shiver down her spine.

And also tell me just in general, what you want to be tagged in.
Everything? Some stuff? Only IMPORTANT stuff? Or nothing at all.

Hello! I wrote a book and I think y'all will like it. It's for fans of Good Omens, Hannibal, Angels Before Man, and all the queer people who deserve financial compensation from the catholic church.
I present to you:
FIRST CREATION, a high heat queer horror novella with a trans angel MC and a queer demon LI!
Tumblr media
FIRST CREATION is a love letter to fallen angels, to finding your place in the world, to connecting to religion in a way that works for you. To touch and peaches, and surviving horrible things, to finding a place to be holy if God won't give it to you. (it's also nasty, and about cannibalism and shame and guilt, too)
It's a 22k word (98 page) novella that you can read in one (or two, or three) sittings.
You can find it on Amazon and itch.io here to read an actual synopsis and look at reviews. You can also find content warnings at the bottom of my website: (I definitely encourage you to read them before you buy!)
Here's also some unhinged ao3 tags for fun

THE FIRST HALF OF CHAPTER 4 IS NOW LIVE!
Everyone, I’ve been working on this for months now, and the impressive and also sad part is; it’s only halfway done! But it’s also 60k words and brings the average playthrough of the demo to 65k words long, so I figured it was worth uploading. Can’t go too long without an update, right?
In this update, pair with Lance and Alvarez as you infiltrate the abandoned warehouse with the S.W.A.T. team on a mission to take down the suspects and end put a close on this case once and for all! There are a lot of different branches to this one. Like… maybe more than I realistically needed. But, I wanted people to be able to craft their own story and make sure they had something to come back to a second time around if they were so inclined. I may even go back and add a little more to parts of this scene before the official release, but that’s a discussion for another day.
Thank you all so much for supporting me, whether you’re a paid member or a free member, and I hope you all continue to enjoy the story I’m crafting!

Okay, well, I was planning to build up some hype, but
🦇🎃HAPPY HALLOWEEN🎃🦇
Lorehaven Bound: A Hunger Pangs Short is now available on Amazon.
Tumblr media
A train ride through the Nevrondian countryside should be a calming proposition, but for Ursula, it isn't. Her thoughts swirl, fixated on one thing... make that two things. Specifically Nathan Northland and Vlad Blutstein. It's not just because they are both breath-stealingly attractive—although to be fair, that doesn't hurt. It's because they surprised her, and Ursula is very rarely surprised.
Even more confounding is her reaction to them, particularly the vampire, Vlad. Just what is she supposed to do about these... feelings?
All Ursula knows is that she doesn't have time for emotions right now. Not when the fate of the world is at stake. She can deal with this later. First, she's got to figure out what story she's going to tell the sure-to-be-furious Alfbern. Then, she needs to catch up on all the sleep she missed before hitting the road again. Surely, she can do those things while being Lorehaven Bound.
*
This story is a 10,000-word character study/missing moment that takes place immediately after Hunger Pangs: True Love Bites. You will want to read that first if you don't want to be spoiled for the events in that book!
---
💖 Available now on Amazon
💖 Apple, Kobo, Smashwords, and more... (links still populating.)
💖Payhip - my personal storefront 💖
Happy reading!
Okay, thanks, love you all, bye.
ID: A red book cover showing a feminine figure standing in front of a steam strain. The title reads Lorehaven Bound, A Hunger Pangs short by International Bestselling Author Joy Demorra. There is a glittery crystal next to the text, and gold decorative swirls adorn the corners.

Support an independently published character-driven, slow burn, adult fantasy-romance novel featuring a female lead with just as much bite as her bark.
Tumblr media
With only 45% of our goal reached and less than 3 days left to our Kickstarter, The Maiden of the Barren Rime needs your help!
________________
The Fallow Peaks, a frozen wasteland of cruel mountains and blood thirsty beasts, where the veil between the Realm of Mortals and the fae realm thins, where very few adventurers have dared to tread, where very few guides are qualified to lead.
Guides such as Mina, unfortunately.
Isolated by choice, Mina finds her solitude interrupted by a sudden request from the Crown of Lanholde to lead their latest band of contractors up the Peaks to finish their quest and deliver their bounty to the capital. The overly friendly five-some she’s contacted to escort seem hell-bent to step over her every boundary, no matter now stern and scornful she acts, worst among them their leader, Sebastian Windenhofer.
Will the fire wizard warm Mina’s cold heart? Or will the reasons behind her icy demeanor turn them all to ice before he gets the chance?
________________
A character-driven adult fantasy-romance narrative featuring a female protagonist with flaws that serve more to the story than just being a character trait. The Maiden of the Barren Rime is a book about love and family and acceptance and people, all while throwing you into an amazing, fascinating, fantasy world.
AND, as this is a slow-burn romance, there are well-earned, intimate scenes for those who like a little spice with their catharsis. 😉
With plans to expand the series into a trilogy, your backing will help The Maiden of the Barren Rime reach it's intended audience, and a fresh style of narrative into the fantasy-romance drama.
Check it out on Kickstarter
