Teachers need to be trained in encouraging queer kids, taking steps to ameliorate bullying and showing acceptance. One such effort was undertaken by the NCERT which put out a teacher-training manual that could be a good first step towards helping queer children. It was pulled down after the opposition from the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights, and the right wing. Members of the committee were trolled, and some were transferred. If the NCPCR was as concerned as it seemed to be when it filed an intervention in the marriage equality case to oppose adoption by queer people, why is it silent on the death of numerous queer kids? Does the mandate of the NCPCR only cover cis-gender, heterosexual kids? The NCPCR has failed in its primary duty by failing to protect queer kids.

Flight Towards Freedom

A lonely bird captured in a cage

Struggling and fighting to break it with rage

Trying to break it and soar in the sky

And reach the vault of heavens so high

This bird is our mother India

The British the cage

The feathers the fighters

And the sky is the gate

Trying and trying to break its cage

The bird loses some of its precious quill

But the dream was big and yet to be reached

The broken feathers regenerated and preached

And continued to fight against the cage

The cage get scars and is scared of bird

But is too stubborn to let it free

The bird need not lose hope

As the quill rejuvenate and continue to fight

Until one day the cage finally broke and set the bird free

The new found freedom was nice and sweet

But the bird shall not forget its broken crest

Those wings, known and unknown, helped to gain the strength

Won't be forgotten and be remembered through eternity

So let us celebrate this freedom longed for

And lets not forget the sacrifices made

Let us all be happy and free

Like the martyred quills wanted us to be

Bullying is the lived reality of thousands of queer kids in this country and yet, we have no regimen in place to deal with it, both in schools and at an institutional level. Queer kids, especially during middle and high school, are more vulnerable to bullying. Name-calling is just the tip of the iceberg. Violence, both physical and sexual, is common not just by peers but also by the teachers in whose care the students are. The cascading effects on the emotional, mental and physical health of the children are enormous, and in some cases, we lose them to suicide.

Hello everyone

I am just a naive writer trying to post something here.

I am a great fan of Mr. Love Queen's Choice game and like Victor the most.

I am not a great writer at all but recently I composed a poem on special occasion of Independence Day of India(which is on 15th August. I know its a bit early to post but i can't wait) I am thinking of posting it here on Tumblr. This is my first time posting something online so I hope you guys will help me and tell me if there is something wrong.

I sometimes write poems so if you guys like it please tell me. And also tell me if i should post my other work too or not.

I will post the poem tomorrow as early as possible.
