#Imagine if Eren actually gathered enough courage to do this!

Hello, Mrs. Momtaku! I finally gathered enough courage to ask if my mere thoughts are worthy of discussion. I was reading your analyses for a long time and can bet I have improved my way of thinking by reading your posts! :D 1. I have many Jeagerist friends, but one of them are my best friend. He states, that, Floch Forster is the true successor of Erwin Smith, and Hange and Armin are illegimate and inept in their positions. He also states that Erwin would have agreed with Eren Yeager's salvation plan. What might be your opinion about these? 2. What do you think Keith Shadis thought upon Erwin Smith's and the Survey Corps' damningly costly victory? Even under his command, the Survey Corps were not obliterated. Do you think he became more inclined to act upon seeing this, considering it also has shown how "undefeated" they are, which is why Keith Shadis looked on them for? 3. Is not it amazing how Keith Shadis survived for certain 10 years as commander, and many more perhaps, even more than Erwin? He deemed himself a bystander, but what kind of bystander can stand against overwhelming odds by himself while all others perish? 4. Do you think Hange's opinion of Keith Shadis was damaged after revealing of his low self esteem? A comrade in the Corps asked to Erwin, if they should do something about the Commandant for hiding information, which Hange replied with something like "he is not worth their time." 5. Lastly, again about Commandant Shadis, I deduce that they learned Grisha Yeager being a shifter by Keith's memories, of which Keith seem to be not suspecting. Why do you think Keith was not suspicious about Grisha at all?
1. Oof. Your friend is either willfully misreading the manga, or he isn't reading it at all. More likely, I suspect he gives more consideration to the thoughts on r/titanfolk and r/yeagerbomb than the actually manga. These are all ideas that are promoted on those subbreddits that have no actual basis in the story.
2. Hmm... I'd say is that Keith is one of the more fair minded and least judgemental characters in the story. His kind treatment of the cadets who allowed him to be beaten by Floch is proof of that. Knowing how impossible the job is, I don't think Shadis would ever second-guess or think poorly of Erwin or Hange's decisions. I touched on Keith and Erwin's relationship in this post.
3. It is amazing!! In fact, I wrote a post about how amazing Keith is. He was always special. He was never just a bystander.
4. Hange was definitely frustrated with Keith after he revealed to them what he knew of Grisha, and earlier in the chapter Hange seemed genuinely embarrassed at being teased about their former crush on Keith. But I don't think Hange would ever be one to hold grudges. If Hange was upset with Keith, they got over it. But now that you've brought this up, I'll be watching the upcoming anime episodes with new eyes to watch their interactions. I don't have a post on this topic, but a more general discussion of Hange's admiration for Shadis is in this post by @mannatea. And I think @tsuki-no-ura has a discussion somewhere on their blog about whether it was a crush or not but I can't find the post.
5. Keith has many fine qualities but imagination does not appear to be one of them. He'd have never suspected such a thing as shifters existed when he found Grisha outside the walls. I have a post on this too. Basically I do not blame Shadis (or Hannes) for not coming forward initially about Grisha because it was a very different world, but once Eren was revealed to be a shifter at Trost, Shadis really should've come forward and told Erwin everything he knew of Grisha's origins.
I hope I covered everything anon. Thank you for your kind words and thank you for the ask. Shadis is a favorite of mine so this was especially fun to consider.
