So, if you’re still holding out for a title that’s specifically called Style Savvy it’s time to give up, because it’s very safe to assume that Fashion Dreamer is meant to be Style Savvy’s spiritual successor. This may be due to influencers and other internet personalities being way more popular than wanting to run a store among children these days.

#I hadn't been aware that this was sort of a breakthrough moment in 'games for girls' #I just thought it was a fun computer game #I also thought that the touch typing program my dad got for me was a fun computer game though #I can't remember if I had any success printing out the patterns on the special paper but I do remember the special paper? #I mostly just designed the clothes and did the bit where Barbie modelled them #she wouldn't go down the runway if you didn't pick shoes #she would say 'don't forget my shoes!' and you'd have to pick something before you could see the catwalk animation #however she would walk the runway wearing only shoes and her underwear #but I would never question the internal consistency of barbie's standards of dress #it is not for me to second guess barbara millicent roberts #also apparently digital domain was also working on the effects for titanic at the time #and the lead programmer on the barbie fashion designer project was pissed off with them for stealing all their server time #and called it 'that stupid boat movie'

not for nothing that roger and jeff are wearing completely identical suits for vicki's wedding down to the same pearl stick pin and it's roger that is distinguished with the accessory and the visual emphasis. that roger wears the pocket square and jeff goes plain without one, without a boutonnière (as feels the most probable and appropriate; they both wear boutonnières in roger's prophetic dream of the wedding). that not only is he wearing the handkerchief, but it's folded in such a way as so take as much space as possible – straying from accepted formality of a neat TV fold, occupying more room on the screen, drawing more attention, pointing among other things to his heart in bright white.

#nsr #i already said i'm not gonna do it #and while i said it was because i didn't also want to make a zuke doll to go with her #it's also because i already made kliff: if i made either one using these particular dolls #they're gonna be significantly shorter than him and that'll bug the hell out of me #kun3h0 is a couple inches shorter than him even though she's supposed to be pretty tall #and that's with the extra centimeter that the shoes gave her #how much more so for May who doesn't wear shoes? #of course... i could just use dolls that are in-scale with him but i like more stylized figures #that's a big part of why i was so attracted to NSR #the only reason kliff works with a 'regular' doll is that he's distinctly *less* stylized than most of the other characters #but he's still stylized~ him being forced into this 'normal' body type means that he's getting completely eaten by his coat/scarf #whereas the long neck/big hands and feet of his original design helped pull him out of his clothes a bit more #i think the more cartoony proportions of the small dolls would help with details like that #so if someone else with this hobby wants to give it a try #then be my guest and also share it with me
