Hello, everyone! Welcome to the Coop! I'm Girl_In_The_Chicken_Suit on AO3, welcome to my journey of venturing into the world of writing as well as other hobbies like never before. I'm your typical weeb that's a little obsessed with husbandos and wants to write them in silly, fun, dramatic, adventurous stories that hopefully you all will enjoy as well. I'm an avid anime watcher, manga reader and gamer. I'm mainly starting out writing for Genshin Impact but I hope to expand that one day!
I'm hoping to get a little bit more experience with writing through this platform, provide teasers/updates on in progress works, and eventually meet my goal of writing my first novel! I'm currently in the very early stages of that, but fingers crossed, one day I will get there!
This post I will keep pinned with links to all of my written works on AO3, as well as little scribble works I may post here with some summaries and all that good stuff. I'll probably end up reworking this post a million times over, so no, you're not crazy if you come here and see one template for this, come again and it's a whole new situation.
Thank you for paying me a visit, and I hope I can provide you with some entertainment during all of your doom scrolling!
Funnily enough, I just recently picked up writing and oh my gosh, I honestly did not expect you all to like my writing style of my chaotic little stories. I actually started out on social media mainly to promote my cosplays! I've been a cosplayer for about 10 years now and have wanted to go more in depth with it, so a majority of my socials are heavily invested in that. If you're interested (and want to witness my chaotic self even more), check out the links below!

Coming Home: Neuvillette x Wriothesley
The world is going through hell, literally. Vampires are roaming the villages and cities under the cover of night, taking humans left and right as livestock, or worse. Humanity has grown to have minuscule hope, but some have decided to rise and defend what little they have left. Enduring intense training since the moment they could hold a weapon firmly, the Vitae Linea have fought against the vampires for years, an ancient organization that wields more power than your average human.
Even with them on humanity’s side, hope is still nearly nonexistent.
Wriothesley, having worked his way through the ranks of organization, has become one of the most coveted members. Through his unique fighting style, sheer strength, and knowledge of the arcane, he has become somewhat of a legend between the two races.
As his battle against the creatures of the night continues, he catches the attention of a certain Vampire Lord who wishes to put his skills to the ultimate test.
Just how does this Vampire Lord know details of himself that he has never shared with anyone else, ones he has hidden even from everyone? Why, also, does this man seem so familiar to him, where even his body recognizes him with ease?
I Promise: Neuvillette x Wriothesley (Part 1 of Judgement & Punishment)
Wriothesley is known for being organized, calculating and strategic when it comes to being the Duke of the Fortress of Meropide. However, when it comes to his own safety and personal well-being, he is severely lacking, and this doesn’t go unnoticed at all. Many of his colleagues, comrades and even the love of his life are witnesses of this dynamic every day.
Especially that certain hydro dragon lover of his that’s completely smitten and obsessed with him.
Unfortunately, all it takes is one near-fatal encounter for Neuvillette to give into his anxieties and instincts, making a rash decision that will prevent Wriothesley from ever coming close to another dire situation like this again.
A rash decision that may be as fatal with consequences as the one fateful encounter did.
Now for the Next Act: Neuvillette x Wriothesley (Part 2 of Judgement & Punishment)
Fontaine has successfully dodged a catastrophic crisis, though not without a great deal of loss. Many citizens have gathered around in support of each other, relying on the previous roles of leadership to give them hope that things will return to how they were before. Hope is abundant, spirits are now high, and the future seems so bright.
Neuvillette has faced many challenges within his long life, and helping to rebuild a nation that has had so much instability in the past will not prove to be easy. Not only does he have the weight of a nation on his shoulders, but he also has a newly claimed mate that consumes his every waking thought, worry and love.
Wriothesley notices that his lover isn’t quite the same since the day Fontaine was saved from imminent destruction, but the frantic activities within the Fortress of Meropide have kept him completely distant from his mate.
Both men are working hard for the nation that they love, to keep justice and order together in harmony once more. However, the whispers of the former archon keep echoing through Neuvillette’s mind, and the longer he ponders, the more he realizes that what he and Wriothesley have is something to be proud of.
Teaser at the end...
The Worthy Treasure: Zhongli x Reader
To steal from a dragon is unacceptable. To try to escape one, is even worse.
When a certain dragon sees you in the crowd, he simply can't get enough. Everything about you, he wants to keep for himself.
If only you had trusted your instincts.
You Listened, Now Stay: Venti x Reader
The time for Weinlesefest is upon Mondstadt! The people are merry, bright, and full of cheer as they celebrate all that which brings them together in the form of favored alcoholic beverages! It’s certainly a time to enjoy, and enjoy they do! This time of year, the Anemo Archon truly delights as he takes the bountiful offerings made out to him.
Especially the offering he ends up taking for himself.
You were just trying to do the right thing for everyone, including yourself.
Boy, Do I Hate You: Scaramouche x Reader
You just wanted your life to go back to normal, before the Vision Hunt Decree.
You wanted your friends back, safe and sound.
You definitely didn't want this vision and a Fatui Harbinger after you.
Tumblr Exclusives:
Comfort Care: Neuvillette x Wriothesley
After handling the incident with the Beret Society, Wriothesley begins to doubt his self-worth. His lovely partner offers him a moment of reprieve to remind him of his true value.
Happy Birthday, Duke!: Neuvillette x Wriothesley
Wriothesley was never the one to celebrate his birthday, opting instead to keep it hush-hush, and devote himself to his work. Maybe he gets a fine dinner from the Coupon Cafeteria, or makes one extra cup of tea for himself, but that's normally it. Just a nice, calm day is all he wanted.
However, a certain hydro dragon has different plans for his mate this year, and he's not about to let Wriothesley escape or avoid enjoying it.
Just My Luck: Neuvillette x Wriothesley
(I caved and also shared this on AO3, because it was so damn long)
The lands are ruled by ruthless gods of various levels of power. Humanity is only a means to an end for their endless desires, if they happen to gain their attention. Many lay low, do what they can to appease the gods and try to live their lives out, as best they can, given the circumstances. Wriothesley is one such mortal. Having committed a great crime as a young boy, he’s constantly fleeing from his past. Little did he know; however, his constant misfortunes lead to his destiny, and it is most certainly not what he was expecting.
Just My Luck Chapter 2: Neuvillette x Wriothesley
As Wriothesley and Neuvillette continue their sensual activities, more starts to develop about his current situation and steps moving forward. What's this about the claim law? Why is he having to meet with other people? One final return to his land? A single wish?
Wait, he didn't ask for this choker!
Not Expected: Neuvillette x Wriothesley
Happy Birthday, Neuvillette! Sorry I was so late to posting it D:
Fontaine continues to see better days ahead, as many friends and families have come together to help one another prepare for a happy season for them all. The Neuvillette's birthday and the Fontainalia Film Festival are finally almost here, the laughter of children and others alike are finally returning to the streets once again with creative celebration and games. Those within the creative arts have come together to perform for the crowds, engaging them to have their Fontain sparks return to their souls as the nation begins anew, and a celebration of the infamous Iudex was never one to miss. All is well for most citizens…
Except for a certain hydro dragon.
Shouldn’t Wriothesley be wanting to spend some time with him, leading up to the Fontainalia Film Festival? Especially Neuvillette’s birthday, since that’s also right before the event? Why then, is Wriothesley suddenly out during all times of the night? Coming back with a scent of another, and avoiding any sort of confrontation that concerns his whereabouts?
Neuvillette loves his soulmate dearly, but he has questions that must be answered, and he can be a rather demanding dragon when the need arises…
Treasure Hoard: Neuvillette x Wriothesley
As Neuvillette returns from his spontaneous trip from Liyue and delivers some gifts to Wriothesley, the duke starts to notice odd things happening around their shared living space. More objects keep appearing in their bedroom, treasures that don't make sense to Wriothesley such as shells, trinkets, gemstones and even various different type of tea cups. He swears up and down he hasn't been the one to purchase any of these goods, and when questioning Sigewinne about it, she's just as lost as he is.
What exactly is going on, and why does Neuvillette seem so pleased with himself?
Thank you for all of your support, it means the absolute world to me! ♥

I still got Ryan drawing ideas holy moly. My brain can't be stopped appearantly.
Sooooo, with the ideas I do have in mind atm, let's settle down which one I'm doing in another ~poll~ (I'll detail the ideas a bit more under the keep reading line, as usual)
Workaholic'o'clock - What I had in mind was like a GIF of Ryan just working at home and then slowly falling asleep. And since what I had in mind would be around 8 drawings, the style will be something like my chibi-esque style, but maybe even more simplistic.
Team PDM PMD redraw - Back when I watched the streams, Ryan was put on a racing team [for PDM] with Flippy, Izzy and Luther, and so I drew them as pokemon in a sort of PDM [Pokemon Mystery Dungeon] like team. Now tho' (from what I've read on the wiki), only two of them are in the same racing team [Ryan and Flippy], with one of them being in a different racing team [Izzy] and the last one being a... doctor [Luther]? Appearantly?? Idk, I just thought it would be funny to draw the three that are in a racing team heaving some [fake] beef with eachother, and then there's just a Weavile in a doctor's outfit lol
Shopping day w/ Cat and Paddy - Basically what it says. It would be in the chibi-esque style, Ryan would be wearing his "Girls' Night" outfit, I might make up an outfit for Cat, and then we got Paddy in a shirt + vest combo- who I'll probably draw carrying all the shopping bags and whatnot. If I'm able to, I'll hopefully draw a simple background or something qvq
How to Train Your [Car] Dragon - I've already drawn this idea a while ago, but that was a sketch. And also, Ryan has a fuckton of cars that I could turn into dragons. Like his war Banshee, the Primo, the GTR, the Drift Wagon (which was the one I previously drew as a dragon, but I wouldn't mind having another go at it), and the twink mobile Honda S2000. Although, if this one wins, I might have to make another poll to see which car I'm gonna turn into a dragon, 'cause I ain't drawing all of them o(-( Also, idk which style I would do with this one ajkhdfaksjhsfa
No Scrubs - Tldr; A moment I still remember fondly was of Ryan, Erin, Vivi and Luther- all but Vivi (I think) are drunk- walking down the street and singing "No Scrubs." And ofc, it would be in my chibi-esque style :]

Tumblr media
If we look on the right next to Luz & Hooty, we can see what looks like a meteorite or comet. There was a similar drawing in the tower where King hatched. On the left, we can see what looks to me like an eclipse. Above, we can see depictions of the Titan Trappers felling Titans.
Tumblr media
In this room just beyond Bill’s office, alongside the depictions of the Titan Trappers trapping Titans, we find an altar, surrounded by skulls. At least twenty of them, probably more. We see more depictions of Titans on the walls, including what might be Ymir on the right there. It has a shorter face than some of the others and the orientation of the skull seems right, though I can’t be 100% sure.
The space around the altar with the skulls is surrounded with more, assorted bones. And right behind the altar is a large sun, partially eclipsed.
This looks like an altar where sacrifices are made.
Tumblr media
I was JUST about to ask about that. Because all the Titan Trapper’s looked like King, so how then… but no… they’re disguises. Which I guess explains how Bill could pull up his shirt to show his scar on exposed skin, even through, you know… you really can’t do that with fur. Unless he shaved his tummy.
…wait, does that mean… when Tarak said ”He passed down that handsome skull of yours,” he didn’t mean it in a ”Oh, you look just like your father!” kinda way. No, he meant that King’s dad LITERALLY passed down the skull to King. As in, the skull is a part of a disguise.
Oh, and I guess Luz said what I was thinking, that the Grand Huntsman is The Collector and that this is all part of The Collector’s plan to bust out of jail. I wonder how or if this has anything to do with the Day of unity?
Tumblr media
Hey, uh… King? Do you notice anything weird about those suits of armor in the corner? Like, oh, I don’t know, the fact that they still have their skulls? Isn’t that a bit odd, to keep their comrades skulls in their armory and not in a graveyard or something?
There is a square shield hanging to the right of the entrance. That kind of shield was more indicative of the romans than the vikings. The only reason I know this is because in one of the How To Train Your Dragon books, Hiccup takes a roman dude’s shield and the epilogue mentions that a lot of other vikings wondered why he used a roman-style shield in battle.
Tumblr media
This is such a sweet, wholesome moment, with King having just found someplace where he belongs. Tarak even promises to help him figure out what the symbol means and to play catch with him.
To bad this is going to be ruined as the Titan Trapper’s turn on our beloved skull dog son, who’s actually the last of a race of titanic beasts of immense power.
I haven’t mentioned it, but I’ve been looking closely at the background trying to find the symbol from King’s tower, or even anything that kinda looked like it, but I didn’t spot anything. Maybe that was why I had a sense of unease this entire time.
I was genuine about this being a nice moment. All of the Titan Trappers have been so welcoming of King and Tarak is being really kind, offering him to help figure out the meaning of his father’s symbol and play with him… and teaching him how to brutally murder people. P-point is, this makes the tragedy of what will inevitably happen next so much greater.

Dracthyr thoughts part 2
So, I watched the Legacies videos and I finally did the intro for the dracthyr starting zone and made one myself. So, I’ll give the rest of my opinions on the dracthyr under the Read More.
A lot of my feelings still hold up in my last write up.
They have grown on me a little more now that I was able to be more personal with them in the leveling intro experience and their Legacies videos.
But there is something about them in the Legacies videos that makes them seem more of a playable race than what we actually have. I have read some critiques on their design about their face shape and teeth that I agree with. The way she looks in the art seems more robust. Toothy. Less smooth. The way she holds her wings is less in your face and closer to her form.
Even then , though. The way she’s introduced, she seems like a standalone NPC who would have been important. This whole situation could have easily been shifted into a new kind of race without it being playable and her being the racial leader.  And then she helps train the mortals of Azeroth into being Dragonsworn so her knowledge isn’t lost. (That’s just me going on a small tangent.)
But the way she’s portrayed in the videos I think was well done. When we get these artistic displays for the lore characters, it adds a lot of depth we can only get in cinematics. But just like the book, these sort of animations show more of the world. It gets you excited, you feel hope for what is to come. It gets you excited and successfully so! I really do feel a sense of wonder for the dracthyr and their new path into figuring out who and what they are.
What I find interesting about them versus the vulpera. Is the vulpera are an allied race who has very little lore on their culture when we should know more things about their customs.
The dracthyr, for once, have a great excuse for not really having basis of culture.You can just infer from their old dwellings that they were academics, trained in strength and saw what style of rooms they had. You could infer a lot from the environment, how they saw Neltharion  being a general - which solidifies them as  very soldier and warrior based race but no basis of belief other than possibly the Titans?
They are an extreme blank slate. Which is both good and bad. But what they have there is pretty good to work off of.
I enjoyed the starting zone, but right away I felt like I was playing a different game. Or a game within the Azeroth universe. That is kinda what this all feels like. Like they should have gotten their own separate game, and they be NPCs in the main game to connect the two stories.
They feel cool to play, I don’t like the cool down on the flight, I think it should be a little shorter.
So over all , I like them as a concept and for what they are. But for WHAT they are, I feel like they’re a bit too grand to be playable. I feel like they should have their own nation. Become like the High Arrakoa. Become a neutral body to help portect Azeroth just like aspects but from a closer pov and aiding the Horde and Alliance. Like a dragon version of the Earthen Ring and Cenarion Circle (((((Where you go get your dragon sworn powers)))))
The reactions from the NPCs I think is spot on though.
All these arguments over the years of dragon RPers getting upset because there is a dragon guy standing openly in one spot off to the side way up on a cliff where no one would see him. And it only validates my points that civilins are going to be put off by this sort of thing popping up (including cross faction RPers trying to go into enemy cities.)
People are both amazed and horrified by them. They don’t know how to react.But I’ll make that a seperate post.
Everything ABOUT the start up and inclusion for the dracthyr has made sense to me. But I think they need a huge fix on how they look, I don’t like how they run. I wish their arms swung differently and didn’t look like they were skipping. I think there should be yet another customization feature button that determines how closed your wings are.
Their mog options are....not great. They are extremely limiting on how they can look and binding undergarments to customization is upsetting. I want that crop top!!! The actual customization itself is fun. They are going in the right direction. Especially with the nose choice for the visage.
So yeah, over all. I can at least approve that this is probably the only way Blizzard is going to get their wish from many years ago of having playable dragon folk. It’s just that...dragons mean something different in WoW and it was going to be weird no matter what. It would have *had* to have been a race we never heard about.
Still, I don’t feel....extremely connected to them. But I can see how one might. Being very into old dragon games, all these new names about weyrns and the animals around there has a very magical dragon game feel to it. But it doesn’t tap into that for me. I’m far too wanting to expand on lore and races who desperately need to be revisited.
A return to Azeroth I think should have a race inherently so deep to the core of the game.  I think the way to really follow this up, is if customization was HEAVILY focused on and we get a mega boost in all the races getting better choices. Several new heritage armor quest lines and maybe....*maybe* extending the Dracthyr visage into other races.
But that’s all I can thinks to say for now. No hate on those who enjoy them, there are things to clearly like about them. But for now, I’m still not completely  head over heels for them and I think i’ll only really be intrigued by them when the hype dies down and only 10 people are RPing them.
Expand the Thorignir lore and Stormdrakes

Let's make Spider-man in D&D
Spider-man in D&D, is that even an option? Yes it is. There are times when you have a great idea for a character but no class or subclass really seams to be the best choice. To ride the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse hype train, I will try to make a webslinger within the rules of Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition. In the meantime show you that sometimes it’s okay to cripple your character to get to a better flavor of that character.
Tumblr media
Art from Spider-man: Across the Spiderverse
Building Spider-Man
At level 1 you choose the Spring Eladrin as your race/species. Flavor-wise, instead of being able to teleporting, you swing around the battlefield using your webs. Teleporting can be done to a place you can see, like through a keyhole, whereas swinging around can only be done to a place your body can physically move to (I’d say you do keep the fact that teleporting doesn’t provoke opportunity attacks when webslinging).
Your background is the Faceless off course, from Baldur’s Gate – Descent into Avernus. The Faceless is the ultimate “superhero with a secret identity”-background, take it, it is cool. And it is fun to be constantly trying not to reveal your secret identity.
Your class is Ranger, or more specifically, the Swarmkeeper Ranger from Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything with the Druidic Warrior fighting style to gain access to the Thorn Whip cantrip. Your weapon of choice is a Whip which you need to cast spells like Ensnaring Strike through. In addition, it could be handy to get your hands on some Darts as you can cast spells like Conjure Barrage through those. You use your other hand to cast spells through your spellcasting focus or a component pouch (in both instances this is a “webshooter”-like compartment attached to your character’s wrist).
You even get a climbing speed equal to your walking speed at 6th level, with Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything’s added Ranger features.
Adding Flavor
Now we’ve arrived at the fun part, because your swarm is actually not a swarm. The things your swarm does are actually done by you, with your web-slinging-powers. It does have some drawbacks where I will go into now, but they are minor:
After you hit a creature with an attack, if you choose to move a creature horizontally for up to 15 feet. You can only move them towards you, not away from you.
The Writhing Tide feature only works when there are objects above you to swing from, like a ceiling, tall buildings or trees..
Swarming Dispersal works the same as the teleport from your race/species option.
Faerie Fire is a special bioluminescent web that sticks to the target.
You can’t cast Gaseous Form, Arcane Eye, or Insect Plague. It is advised to ask your DM for replacement spells from the spell list of the classes those spells are from (Druid, Sorcerer, or Wizard).
As a ranger, you can cast a number of spells as well, here is a list of potential options that fit the Spider-Man vibe (don’t forget to describe you using your web-based powers instead of bOriNg mUndANe mAgiC):
1st Level
Ensnaring Strike
Entangle
Jump
Longstrider
Zephyr Strike
2nd Level
Cordon of Arrows (the arrows used in the spell are just the material component, and can thus be replaced by a spellcasting focus or component pouch)
Magic Weapon
Spike Growth
3rd Level
Ashardalon’s Stride
Conjure Barrage
Elemental Weapon
Lightning Arrow
Plant Growth
4th Level
Freedom of Movement
Grasping Vine
Guardian of Nature
5th Level
Conjure Volley
Freedom of the Winds
Steel Wind Strike
Wrath of Nature
Epilogue
So, now you know how to make Spider-Man into a character for Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition. You could use these same options to play DC’s Poison Ivy, Mortal Kombat’s “Get Over Here” Scorpion, or Marvel’s Reed Richards AKA Mister Fantastic, for example. As long as you stay creative, and think outside the bounds of what the Dungeons and Dragons team’s original idea was with a class, race, background, or subclass.

Fairy Tail: Neela Dragneel
The Fairy Tail
Neela's pov
My brother and I were on a train going to a town where we heard our father Igneel is, i'm so excited. I haven't seen him in forever. I really miss him. Thats why I always stick to Natsu, he takes care of me, & sometimes I take care of him when I can but i'm weaker than him. Like right now he has his head in my lap trying to relax because he gets motion sickness & I don't. He's so cute when he's vulnerable around me. I got up to grab my bag when Happy challenged me to a race.
"Hey Neela, last one outside pays for lunch!"
Knowing how me, him, & Natsu eat I jumped out the nearest window & ran up to the door right before he came out and I yelled, "YES VICTORY I WIN & I DON'T HAVE TO PAY FOR LUNCH!"
"No fair you cheated." He cried.
"Did not, i'm just awesome." I stuck my tongue out.
We started to laugh until I saw a flash of pink on the side of the train
"OH CRAP! Happy we forgot Natsu" I looked at him freaking out.
"Oh no your right"
"Well go get him, your the one with wings!"
   **
While Happy went to fetch Natsu I started to look for someone to bribe into "lending"  me money so we could eat, since I knew Happy had no money cause he spent it on fish. I saw a bunch of girls gathered around someone & of course being nosy went to see who it was. When I finished pushing my way to the front I saw this man who they kept calling Salamander, I instantly felt disappointed since we originally came looking for our father Igneel who could also be called a salamander because he's a dragon.
Yea you heard me right our father is a full blooded DRAGON. He isn't our real father but he raised us & taught us magic, he taught us Fire Dragon Slayer Magic.
As I was about to turn around and start heading back to look for the boys the man turned around and looked me straight in the eyes. All of the sudden my heart started to beat rapidly in my chest and my face was getting red as he started walking in my direction never breaking eye contact with me. My eyes were probably shaped like hearts, & I bet I looked like a freakin tomato too since that's how most of these girls looked.
"Hey there little lady, what might your name be?" he asked.
"N-Neela", wait! why the hell am I stuttering for!?! I'm not attracted to him & I already have a boyfriend. And a very sexxxxxay one at that.
"Neela huh? well what a beautifully unique and rare name to fit an even more beautiful, unique, & rare young woman." the man said while gently holding my chin between his index finger & thumb.
Seriously? Did he seriously just call me beautiful, rare, & unique like it would actually work on me? At least pick 1. Using all 3 is so lame and cheesy :-\.
All of the sudden he started leaning down to my lips. I wanted to move away and punch him but my body wouldn't respond. Right as I felt his lips brush mine I was knocked into the ground by someone who smelled extremely familiar. Natsu.
Thankfully the impact didn't really hurt & knocked me out of my daze.
"You're not Igneel, and keep your damn hands off my sister." Natsu said standing in front of me protectively. My brother is so awesome and sweet<3.
Almost immediately after Natsu insulted the strange man a bunch of his fan girls attacked him. I reacted quickly & kicked them off, but not that hard since they're normal and have no magic power.
The man tried to give my brother an autograph signing with the name Salamander. Natsu refused to take it before some more fan girls tried to attack him. Tried.
After the man left, but not before winking & blowing a kiss at me which sent shivers down my spine and not in a good way, this blonde girl with huge boobs that made mine feel tiny & made me die a little inside, came up to Natsu to thank him for snapping her out of his spell or something. I wasn't really paying attention, too busy crying on the inside at how tiny my boobs are compared to everyone else's is.
The next thing I know Natsu is carrying me bridal style into a restaurant. He set me down on the inside of the booth next to him. Then we started eating while the blonde haired girl (who's name I learned was Lucy and was paying for our food) was talking about her being a wizard and wanting to join her favorite guild ever.
After we finished eating we bowed down to Lucy to thank her for feeding us and then left. I told Natsu that I was gonna go gift shopping for my boyfriend and some of my closest friends back home while him & Happy do whatever they wanted. He was hesitant at letting me go off on my own but eventually gave in to my pleading, hugs, and cute puppy dog faces.
About 20 minutes later when I had bought my BF something I ran into that strange man from earlier and was immediately cast under his spell again. He asked me if I wanted to go for a ride on his boat & of course being under some weird kind of love spell stuttered a yes.
He took me to buy this pretty pink dress to wear on his boat. It went down to a few inches above my knee, was the same shade of pink as my hair, was very soft, had a sequined black belt around it, and the straps tied around the back of my neck. He gave me this beautiful pink Saphire necklace to go with my outfit.
While we were on the boat I noticed that I wasn't getting seasick. You know how Natsu gets motion sickness? Well I don't except when I'm on a boat. I know, it's weird.
I was sitting on the "Salamander's" lap while he was talking to Lucy. I wasn't really paying attention because I was too busy staring at his beautiful face & daydreaming about us doing "stuff". WAIT WHAT THE HELL I HAVE TO STOP THINKING ABOUT THIS CRAP IT'S SO ANNOYING, I AM SO GONNA KICK HIS ASS ONCE I GET OUT OF THIS SPELL!!!!!.
Out of the corner of my eye I saw Lucy run towards me, I couldn't tell what she was trying to do until I felt a terrible pain on the top of my head.............*blink blink*
"OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT THE FUCKING HELL WAS THAT FOR YOU MEAN BITCH!!!???!!!"
"I HIT YOU TO SNAP YOU OUT OF THE STUPID SPELL THAT YOU WERE STUPID ENOUGH TO GET CAUGHT UNDER AGAIN!!!"
"Oh, thanks Blondie hehe:)"
"Now will you please help me against these guys?" she asked.
"Huh? What gu-oh those guys" I said while looking around the room.
"All right I guess i'll have to hurt you guys now. Stand back Lucy I don't want you to get caught up in my attack."
"Um ok" she said.
"All right here we g-"......
"Neela what's wrong? Why are you just standing there?"
Lucy's pov
What's wrong with her? She was about to attack them when she just stopped.
I walked around to stand in front if her to see what was wrong. When I got in front of her, what I saw made me want to hit her in the face so hard so many times! Her face was green and looked like she was about to puke. She gets seasick? Are you kidding me? And after all that talk. I swear when she gets better I'm gonna hit her.
Neela's pov
I felt like I was gonna die. The only words I were able to say were, "so siiiiick."
Salamander grabbed me while one of his men grabbed Lucy. Suddenly Natsu came crashing through the ceiling and Lucy and I were happy he came. But of course, that happiness was short lived when I remembered he has motion sickness and was soon in the same situation as me.
"Ugh you are both so lame" Lucy said.
"What are you two doing here Neela and Lucy?"
"Oh, Happy. This jerk tricked me, he said he was gonna get me into Fairy Tail." Lucy responded.
I tried to respond but I could only make weird groans.
Salamander and his men all looked dumbfounded saying they've never seen a flying blue cat who could talk before.
Happy escaped with Lucy while we went to beat up those guys, which didn't really work out since we could barely move without wanting to puke our brains out.
Salamanders guys started to beat up Natsu while I was trying to crawl my way over to him to beat him up. While crawling I asked, "You're a member of Fairy Tail?".
Suddenly the ship was being thrown around and we crashed on land, then the sickness stopped. I found Natsu and we made our way towards Salamander and his guys.
"So you claim to be a member of the Fairy Tail Guild." Natsu said.
"So what's it to either of you?" Salamander retorted. "Go get em men".
"Let us get a closer look at your face" these guys came at us and Natsu just brushed them aside.
"Our names are Neela and Natsu Dragneel, we're Fairy Tail wizards and we've never seen you before!" I said.
"These guys are the real deal Vora" said one of his men.
"You idiot don't call me that!"
"I have no idea what you're tryin to do here buddy and I don't care if your a good guy, bad guy or what. But we're not gonna let you dirty the Fairy Tail Guilds name!" Natsu yelled.
"And what are you gonna do about it, stop me? Sorry about this sweetheart but I don't care how hot you are, i'm not gonna let you stop me. PROMINENT TYPHOON!"
His attack sent some kind of purple lookin fire at us, pfft, it's almost funny how stupid some people can be. We just stood there and when the fire came at us we swallowed it.
"Ah this is so gross, are you sure you're a fire wizard cause these are the nastiest flames we've ever tasted". Said Natsu. I was just eating and laughing at their expressions. It was hilarious, they screamed like little girls.
"Thanks for the grub, poser" I said.
"What's going on here? Who are these kids?"
"Now we got fires in our bellies that are just raging to get out." Natsu said. It's kinda his catchphrase.
We put our hands around our mouths and yelled "FIRE DRAGON ROAR!" then we breathed fire at Vora and his men.
Let me explain how we can do that. To cut it short we have dragon lungs for breathing fire, dragon scales to help dissolve the fire, and dragon claws to attack with fire. It's an ancient spell that no one uses anymore it's Dragon Slayer Magic that Igneel taught to us.
We then got into a battle with Vora, it didn't take long since he was kinda weak, after a few more moves and crushed and destroyed buildings we were about to beat him.
"We're gonna cook you like a smoked fish!" I said.
"YOU'RE GONNA DO WHAT TO ME!='O" Vora yelled terrified and crying like a little girl.
"DOUBLE FIRE DRAGON IRON FISTS!" and with that last move Natsu and I sent him flying through the streets and into a huge bell, hitting some buildings along the way.
We noticed the army was coming our way, so I grabbed Lucy by the wrist and ran as fast as I could.
"Where are you taking me!?" Lucy asked.
"Just come on, you said you wanted to join the Fairy Tail Guild didn't cha?" I answered.
I looked back and gave her a close eyes smile while Natsu and I said, "So lets go"
"Alright" she said excitedly.
And with that we made a break for it with the army chasing close behind us.

Mist Worlds; The Mist Itself
hello back at it again before I uhhh yeah I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the rest of my day actually. Maybe finish reading that book
anyway
The Mist Itself.
It's extremely literal lmao, right from the beginning! The first short I wrote that I knew as the start of this whole Thing was the Magic Thieves sitting in the Mist waiting for a carriage to the next work and that was... 2012
damn ok yeah sure it's been a minute I guess
Some things have definitely changed shsjkss
So prior to the Arch Mages sealing the dragons and setting the gates in - not literal - stone, they could (and would) appear without warning anywhere. Dawn was generally the most common time for them, but anywhere mist tended to gather
Time was also wobbly in it! someone could walk from one world in one year and turn up somewhere else years into the future or past with no control over it (this happens to Skren and possibly the Nightgales but there were extenuating circumstances there)
As previously said, only the likes of dragons and fair folk could control their paths. They'd take people along for a price but the price may not uhhhh always have been worth it, y'know?
So for the most part, before the gates, no one really knows that there are other worlds. People don't really come back. The Fair Folk get blamed for a lot (or - not blamed, but generally don't tempt them you know?)
And then the Arch Mages pull their "Look at us creating travel for everyone" magic and everything gets a little more open and most of the dragons disappear from the worlds.
And outside of the stable gateways and the pathways between them, the Mist gets a little more dangerous; after all, there are dragons in there. The Mist might as well be their breath, and they've never been all that great with the mortal races
So travel gets easier and I deal in some handwavy magic because hello different worlds with technically different languages!! That shit's gonna overwrite whatever your language is to the main language in the area you arrive in (think TARDIS language circuits) but unless you put in the effort to like. learn it written or whatever, you're gonna forget it when you leave that world again. Not sure how that's interacting with people with multiple languages but hey. that's a problem for later.
And while magic things/charms/runes/etc can travel between worlds without being broken down, technology can't, so no one's about to introduce smartphones to a functionally medieval world - although Techno Mages can and have made workarounds (hello Asin, your circus tricks are very pretty but come on).
around the stabilised gates are built what is functionally a train station, because the ways might be safe but you still need a guide to get to the right destination! There is money/tickets involved, you do need some style of passport, but they're all... varyingly easy to come by?
And of course random gates still open and if you can bargain with the Fair, they'll take you through as well (or - hello, Vivian - make friends with a unicorn and go wherever in the Mist you want)
When the dragons are freed, everyone expects the gates to falter and fail, but they don't!
Skren might have had something to do with that :3 He can be very persuasive when he needs to be. Or maybe he's just so earnest that they felt he deserved something for freeing them, who knows. Skren isn't talking and Elise isn't too sure because her control was slipping at the time.
The most that noticeably happens is that the Mist gets a little less dangerous if one strays off the paths. You're still gonna get lost, you just might not die of it.
There is At Least One artefact that can create its own gateways in the Mist which is like the whole plot of the as-yet-unplotted World Music shenanigan, so like there might be more but that's gotta be stupid intricate magic to create so they're gonna be rare af
but yeah. Mist!

The Final Battle
Tumblr media
☞ harry potter x jjk crossover au // 3.9k words
☽ the battle of hogwarts: jjk style, remnants of satosugu friendship, pain, hurt, more pain…sigh… pure angst with a magical twist for flavor
☽ warnings : major character death
☽ pairing : satoru gojo x suguru getou
☞ my inner harry potter geek really came out full force with this one…so did my sad writer juices i apologize beforehand :)
“satoru….hey, professor nanami cast the spell to defend the school. it won’t be long…”
“i know. i’ll join you when it’s time.”
the illuminating sheen of the dome rose high over the towers of hogwarts. gojo could hear the hum radiating from it, the power from the spell glowing against the overcast sky.
this is it.
should he count his blessings? pray? to what deity, or god, or higher being should he speak to before his world comes crushing down?
gojo’s wand feels heavy in the palm of his hand, thumb gently grazing over the smooth spruce. he imagines the dragon heartstring at its core, the beast he knew lived inside.
he had seen it himself, his peers had too. how even before traveling to hogwarts in his first year just how powerful a wizard he was-and would grow up to be.
if only he knew where he would be in his seventh year. standing in front of the large oak doors leading to the great hall, his fellow students young and old rushing into place all around him, wiping their brows and preparing for a war.
a war that would cost gojo everything.
he knew who he would see on the other side of the battle. the image of his face made gojo’s stomach churn and his chest ache.
his best friend.
his only friend.
he felt a hand rest atop his left shoulder, the scuffed toes of professor nanami’s boots coming into view beside him. he met his professor’s eyes, receiving a small nod of acknowledgment. gojo had grown quite close to his professor throughout his years at hogwarts. he was one of the only people that had garnered gojo’s appreciation and trust.
nanami knew. he had watched all of them grow up, after all. he was the one who informed gojo of the news that sent him spiraling.
that was two years ago.
now, as voldemort rallied his followers and dark creatures of the forest, gojo knew he would face him again.
“the spell is weakening.”
“it was only a matter of time.”
“are you prepared?”
“no.”
“neither am i. but we must.”
with a pat on his shoulder the professor left his side, sheathing the oak wand in his sleeve.
“strength. endurance. tolerance. balance. practicality. that is what my wand stands for. each of you have your own unique wand that chose you; yes, the core of your wand does hold great power and meaning, but so does the wood that keeps it intact. it is a vessel. and it is strong.”
gojo remembers listening to his professor and thinking he was absurd. but his friend had watched on with glimmering eyes, thirsty for new knowledge, and he had decided that maybe the idea wasn’t all that abhorring.
“hawthorn. somewhat arrogant, reflection, intelligence, vigor, new beginnings or endings. feels most at home with a wizard of natural talent. wicked, eh satoru? what about yours?”
“ah, mines spruce. quick-witted, adaptable, flamboyant, strength, resistance, is known for its unusually fast reactions and somewhat stubborn nature in the hands of a nervous or untrained wizard or witch. good thing i’m not that, eh?”
“your wand is supposed to be stubborn? you’ve had no problems!”
“well of course i haven’t! i don’t remember a moment in my life where i’ve ever been nervous. no wonder…”
the conversation had drifted away in a few minutes, the flickering of the lantern lulling gojo to sleep. when he came to, the weight of a second robe rested on his shoulders. he had ignored the blush that rose on his cheeks and wiped drool from the corner of his mouth
gojo had looked down at the book that ended up as his makeshift pillow and found himself mindlessly reading more information. gojo had failed to mention the extra research he had done; it was innocent, just an extra flip of a page. what he read he never told.
‘although hawthorn is a very powerful wood, it is adept to curses. many of those who practise dark magic have been affiliated with wands made from hawthorn. they are not to be taken lightly in the wrong hands.’
he didn’t regret it then, but after he had gotten the news from nanami about what his friend did, the guilt ate him alive.
now as he looks out the castle doors to the cracks spindling in luminescence revealing the murky darkness of the stormy sky, gojo realizes that this might be his last day at hogwarts.
the realization is fleeting. he can’t afford to be thinking that way. not now. he feels the eyes of his classmates pouring into his being. they’re looking to him to save them.
you should just try to save yourselves.
itadori comes to stand to his right, fushiguro to his left. maki and nobara flank behind him.
this is is family. they all know their tie to one another. they’ve been training together for almost a year on their combat skills. itadori had been experiencing some difficulties, but nonetheless proved to be the closest match to gojo himself.
“holly. with a phoenix feather core. why?”
“just curious. look up what your wood means sometime, will ya?”
“yea…sure. not sure what that has to do with anything…”
gojo and professor nanami both had thought his wand would be made of dogwood- it matched itadori’s personality-the holly was a surprise. paired along with a phoenix feather core was practically unheard of.
but as the dark magic started to rise, itadori started to blossom. he was an amazing wizard.
gojo had his own hypotheses, but as always kept them to himself. no need to cause any further turmoil in his life.
“gojo?”
“you can call me satoru, y’know.”
“sure…gojo?”
“…yes itadori”
“i’m scared.”
gojo felt his heart clench. the boy beside him might be powerful, but still just that- a boy. he didn’t deserve this. none of them did.
“you can always back away. you know that, right?”
he watched as itadori looked across the bridge towards the darkness, then to his friends and classmates surrounding them.
“gojo?”
“hm?”
“are you scared?”
“no.” yes.
despite what lay ahead of them, itadori cracked a smile. “same as ever, eh?”
gojo forced the corners of his lips into a smirk. “you know it.”
~~~~~~~~~~
as soon as the remaining bits of professor nanami’s spell wore off, the fighting commenced. the huge stone knights began at the putrid giants that shook the ground as they walked, but, as expected, they didn’t hold for long.
there were hundreds of death eaters that immediately swarmed the entrance to the castle. gojo and the others had already gotten separated. he found himself looking for glimpses of them as he fought, power rushing through his veins as flashes of light shot through his vision.
one death eater after another fell to his wand. a goblin here. an enormous arachnid there. a shield spell shot itself from his wand to catch a pillar that threatened to fall on a young girl. gojo didn’t spare a second to marvel at how his wand seemed to act on its own.
itadori was nowhere to be found. nobara was matched against a witch he swore he had seen on the cover of a newspaper. she had been locked up in Azkaban for upwards of ten years.
a patronus he knew belonged to megumi weaved itself through the dust and dirt of the fight, closely followed by its darker counterpart. he made the mistake of watching the white wolf too closely in its decent over one of the towers and felt the breath get knocked from his chest as he flew backwards into a wall.
he coughed weakly into his hand, rubbing the blood that surfaced there onto his pants. the wall he flew into crumbled around him. he wasn’t sure who had landed a blow on him, but whoever it was had to be powerful.
only three people had ever managed to conquer such a thing, and two of them were currently fighting for hogwarts.
gojo petrified a lone death eater that had tried to sneak up on his left. he quickly ran over to the frozen body to lift the mask, though he knew it wasn’t who he was searching for.
“gojo, on the bridge!”
the yell had come from megumi, whom he saw battling three death eaters at once. after quickly disarming one them, gojo turned towards the bridge.
a flash of pink hair caught his attention. he watched as itadori seemingly chased after someone and raised his wand to cast his patronus to follow him. he stopped in his tracks when he saw a figure across the ravine.
it was him.
gojo’s hands shook with a ferocity no one had seen before. his wand illuminated the battlefield so bright many had to shield their eyes. the fighting ceased for only a moment as everyone turned to look at the being that stood in place of gojo satoru.
the short silence was broken when a death eater sent a curse flying towards nobara. a flick of gojo’s wrist was all it took for the death eater to fall in a heap on the ground, dead.
gojo’s entire being felt laced with ice. he knew he would see him. he knew. so why…
why did it hurt so badly?
screams and cries fell on deaf ears as gojo made his way across the crumbling bridge towards the forest. his hands trembled at his sides, legs weak as they carried the weight of this moment.
the figure had seen him and immediately dissipated into thick black smoke.
~~~~~~~~~~~
the forbidden forest had never scared gojo. he actually found comfort in the deep hollows and twisted roots that overcame the dense woods. he spent a lot of time here throughout the years even though students weren’t allowed.
his feet led him along the familiar pathway he had taken numerous times before. a lone centaur raced towards the castle, not sparing gojo a second glance. he had long since become acquaintances with the creatures of the forest.
“gojo!”
“itadori? what in the- what are you doing out here? you’re going to get yourself killed!”
“i saw voldemort go into the forest so i-“
“well, what a sight.”
gojo’s eyes widened as he registered the voice that came from behind him. itadori looked over his shoulder in confusion; when he saw who the voice belonged to, his face morphed into a look of pure rage.
“itadori. this is my battle.”
“but-“
“you need to leave.”
“no, no i’m not just going to leave you here-“
“yuuji? wow, it’s been a while… you’ve grown.”
gojo turned to face the voice, visibly wincing as his eyes landed on his old best friend.
“satoru”
“suguru.”
getou had gotten taller since he last saw him. a scar ran across the length of his forehead and his hair had grown longer.
i always said his hair would look good long.
“i can feel the power radiating from you, satoru…it’s delicious. my lord will be quite pleased to meet you”
“your ‘lord’ can kiss my ass.”
getou chuckled, “no need to be vulgar”
gojo’s hand clenched around his wand. one spell and this could be over, but it would be irreversible. even though gojo knew getou wasn’t the same person he was a year ago, he still trembled at the thought of his old friend not being alive.
“gojo-“
“no, let him stay awhile satoru! it’ll be so much more fun”
itadori sneered at getou before pointing his wand towards him. gojo could see the slight shaking of his hand. he was terrified.
getou laughed, his arms opening wide as if welcoming the two into his home.
“so much more bite than when i last saw you, hm? the dark lord spoke highly of you…”
“stupefy!”
gojo’s head whipped around in a flash just in time to see itadori’s body fall to the forest floor. a man with long gray hair skipped towards them, giggling maniacally.
“ah mahito, just in time!” the man bowed in getou’s direction, inching closer to itadori’s paralyzed body. “master informed me that yuuji itadori had followed him here and sent me to fetch him…who is this handsome fellow, hm?”
gojo stood tall, senses on high alert. he was almost okay dealing with getou alone- but now there was an unknown wizard present. if voldemort sent him to do his biddings, then he must be strong…
“this is my old friend from hogwarts…satoru, meet mahito.”
“i’d rather not.”
mahito licked his lips in response to gojo’s remark, sending an unpleasant shiver down his spine. every aspect of this man screamed lunatic…and he was here for itadori.
a grunt escaped itadori from his position on the ground. gojo could see him trying to regulate his breathing, but it was obvious the younger boy was panicking.
“oh satoru, don’t be crass. the dark lord has been yearning to meet the young boy for a long while.”
“a long while? what the hell are you talking about?”
getou chuckled, brandishing his wand from the dark cloak that hung around his shoulders. gojo’s hand instinctively tightened around his wand as he watched his old friend walk towards itadori.
mahito tapped his fingers rhythmically against the handle of his own wand, seemingly awaiting orders. getou kneeled down closer to itadori’s face.
“yes, a long while.”
gojo still didn’t understand what that meant. itadori hadn’t met getou when he was at hogwarts, so how did his presence suddenly become voldemort’s pentacle of fascination?
“take him.”
“WAI-“
before gojo could even move to cast a spell, itadori’s scream was cut off as mahito apparated them both away.
“he’s just a boy!”
“maybe so…but a very powerful boy indeed.”
“his power doesn’t justify voldemort’s infatuation with him! i don’t understand why his involvement is needed-“
“they are tethered, satoru. remember?”
gojo’s body turned ice cold.
“…no, you…you…it was just-“
“just a suspicion, yes, that is what you told me, wasn’t it?”
no. no. it couldn’t be.
“the dark lord was very delighted with the information, so, i have you to thank, satoru. whatever may happen to the boy will be because of you.”
gojo’s mind went stark. he didn’t think, just moved with no purpose; he just let his rage pull his limbs into action like a puppet.
unspoken spells flew from both wands, the two wizards trapped in their last battle. the two were evenly matched. this didn’t surprise him.
after all, getou was one of the three people who had been able to land a jinx on him.
it was nonstop. gojo couldn’t stop himself if he tried. he was seething with anger not just towards getou, but towards himself. there was such a sinking feeling in the air, like they were dancing on cracking ice.
for an instant the two locked eyes. gojo felt his footing slightly tip, and that was all it took for getou to find an opening and send him flying backwards through the air. he landed hard on his back, wincing as a jolt of pain went through his head.
he knew he should get up. continue the fight. run and find itadori.
but he didn’t.
“you didn’t kill me.”
he didn’t see getou’s reaction to his comment. a patch of night sky that had broken through the clouds caught his attention.
for a moment he wished getou had killed him.
“get up.”
“i don’t want to.”
“satoru, get up and fight me.”
getou snarled and grabbed gojo by the collar of his jacket, pulling him up to meet his face.
“don’t you hate me?”
“…no.”
“why not! you…you should despise me! i betrayed everyone-including you!”
“i don’t.”
and it was the truth. gojo had spent hours in his dormitory stuffing his leaking eyes into his pillow, trying to be revolted by his best friend. he still had scars on his hands from punching the stone walls of the dungeons, trying to force his own physical pain into hatred.
it never worked.
“…i still don’t understand why you did it.”
that seemed to catch getou off guard. he slackened the grip he had on gojo’s collar, backing away with his head hung low.
“…he found my father.”
gojo’s eyes widened at the statement.
“i…i thought your father was-“
“dead? me too…” he paused for a moment, scoffing before continuing, “but he wasn’t. all that time we spent searching for letters, newspaper articles, headlines on the news- hell even muggle police reports- was for nothing.”
“so you went with him.”
“what other choice did i have, satoru?”
the atmosphere that had engulfed the two snapped.
what did he mean? ‘what other choice did he have’? gojo felt the anger from before start to trickle back into his veins.
“you could have stayed.”
getou met his eyes. they stood in unison, gaze never faltering.
“i had no reason to stay.”
“that’s bullshit and you know it, suguru.”
“what reason then? i was a horrid student, i didn’t care about grades, our so-called friends loathed me satoru! i had no family, no home to call my own i-“
“you had me, suguru!”
getou went silent. the only noises that could be heard were their heavy breaths and muffled yells from the castle. the wind sent a chill straight to gojo’s bones and he shivered, suddenly realizing there were tears trailing down his cheeks.
“i betrayed you satoru. without a second thought.”
“i don’t believe you.”
“i pushed you to investigate itadori’s powers. voldemort told me he would reveal my father’s whereabouts if i gave him information on the boy,”
“but-“
“i broke your trust! i didn’t even try to warn you of what i was planning, or that my father was alive-“
“suguru-“
“don’t you see!”
gojo stared at the look of pure exasperation and pain on getou’s face. he had a feeling it mirrored his own.
he watched as getou pulled the sleeve of his cloak above his forearm, placing the mark of the death eaters etched into his skin on display.
“this is what i am now, satoru.”
“and i’m just supposed to…what? hate you? was i supposed to hate you then? because i didn’t, and don’t.”
“that’s- that’s exactly what you should do! i would hate me-“
“well guess what suguru!” gojo was yelling by now, the words clawing their way from within his chest, “you don’t get to decide how your decisions make others feel!”
he ignored the fact he was moving steadily towards getou as he yelled. when he got close enough, gojo realized they both were shedding tears.
“i don’t understand why you care so much about me-“ gojo let out an unhumourous laugh, “what’s that supposed to mean, huh? you think i stayed up all those hours searching for your father out of what- obligation? pity?”
getou searched for an answer, stammering over the thoughts running through his head.
“i don’t understand why-“
“because i loved you!”
no more skirting around thin fractures, or waiting with baited breath to discover to truth. it was done.
and it broke him.
gojo had done well hiding his pain the past two years. the signature smirk was automatic-it appeared on his face without effort. conversation passed through his mouth without falter. he had trained himself to be the perfect student.
but this…this he couldn’t pretend to recover from.
“you…”
“it doesn’t matter now. what’s done is done.”
“were you ever going to tell me?”
“…i don’t know.”
when did his wand become so heavy? was his chest supposed to hurt this bad?
“oh god…satoru…”
he didn’t want to feel this way anymore. the sorrow was eating him alive, peeling back layers and layers of his soul.
he repressed the urge to comfort getou as he watched his past love fall to his knees.
“i’m so sorry, satoru.”
“sorry can’t fix everything, suguru,”
if only you had said it then…
“not now. not ever.”
please make this pain stop.
“…i know.”
“so let’s finish this.”
every fiber of his being was screaming at him to stop. a tiny voice yelled ‘you can help him!’. he forced the thoughts from his mind, they would only get in the way.
he had made his decision.
getou didn’t falter from his position on the ground. his wand stayed by his side. the only movement he made was to lift his head towards the night sky as gojo himself had done before.
i love you, suguru. forgive me.
“avadakdavra!”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
the walk back to the castle was torture. the weight of getou’s body was heavy in his arms. it was worse than he ever could have imagined.
the silence that had encompassed him the forest was shattered the moment he stepped foot onto school grounds. the battle was over, it seemed.
the carnage left behind was gut-wrenching.
gojo ignored the gazes of his peers as he wandered into the great hall. he knew this was where they had planned to house all of the wounded, and despite the hollow feeling in his gut, he needed to find his family.
“gojo!”
he turned to see who had called his name and felt relieved when he saw it was itadori. the relief was short-lived, however, when he noticed the sobs wracking the young boys’ body.
gojo retrieved a lone bedsheet and carefully placed getou’s body down, taking one last look at his past love’s face before he covered it. he left getou there and made his way over to where itadori was crouched over a figure lying on the floor. megumi and maki were both there too.
where was nobara?
“it happened right before you went after itadori…”
gojo’s gut wrenched when he saw who the figure was.
“i assume you saw getou…you didn’t even realize what had happened…” the memory of the battle flashed before his eyes.
“i killed that death eater. the woman. i- i could have sworn…no i know i killed her-“
“it was too late.”
“…gojo?”
he kneeled down and took one of nobara’s bloody hands in his own.
“yes, it’s me, i’m here now nobara.”
“you found getou…didn’t you?”
“…yes. i did.”
this wasn’t supposed to happen. gojo swore he had done everything to prepare them… butit wasn’t enough.
nobara wheezed as a chuckle tried to escape her body, the action causing her to cough uncontrollably as air tried to seep into her lungs.
“i can’t believe…out of all of us…that i’m the one dying…could have sworn it…would have been yuuji…ha!” itadori offered a small laugh, more tears escaping his eyes.
“wow, even on your deathbed you’re still fighting with me…”
gojo met the eyes of maki, who he could tell was choosing not to say anything. megumi refused to look at nobara’s face. instead he stared at the floor, silently crying, not bothering to wipe the tears away.
they’re so young.
gojo felt a sob lurch in his throat but he refused to let it free. he had to be strong. or, at least, act strong. it wasn’t time for his facade to break.
for their sake.
“you ok, nobara?”
“yea…i’m ok.”
gojo watched as she took her final breath.
“gojo…gojo she’s… she’s dead, gojo…”
he pulled itadori’s smaller body into his own, holding him there as the boy sobbed openly. megumi took ahold of maki’s hand, the latter turning her head into the boys’ shoulder as she let her own cries break free.
i’m sorry… i’m so sorry…
Distractions
Draco Malfoy x Reader
Summary: A rainy Sunday evening is spent with Draco.
Warnings: minor injury, brief mentions of blood, mentions of the dark mark, fluff
(not my gif)
Tumblr media
It was a rather dreary Sunday evening, rain pelting fast to the ground as it had done all day. Although it wasn’t the kind of weather you’d want to be caught outside in, it was perfectly ideal for the place you were headed. The greenhouse.
You followed a pace or two behind Draco, his hand enveloping yours and a book held in your other as you walked in comfortable silence. The trip there could be done blindfolded at this point, the same path down the near unfrequented halls every Saturday and Sunday at five o’clock in the evening. It was a routine that first started halfway through fifth year, though his fondness for it dates back farther than that.
Every weekend Draco can be found tending to every plant that resided in the large glass structure, a responsibility Professor Sprout bestowed upon him without reluctance. Granted, he wasn’t very gentle or mindful of the delicate greenery and herbs in his early years, which is something he regrets looking back at it. But when he showed up unannounced outside her classroom door after hours a few years later, she had a sneaking suspicion the Slytherin wasn’t quite as insufferable as he lets on.
Despite his fondness and growing interest in the vast varieties of magical plants and the potions they can be crafted into, it’s a piece of himself he wants to be kept secret. Not that he’s embarrassed of such things, but as time goes on he finds it better to leave things of sentimental value out of the public eye. That being said, should anyone cast a lingering glance his way on his route, he’s quick to shoot them a defensive glare to stave off prying eyes.
Now, in just under a year and a half, he’s become one of the finest caretakers of her beloved plants she’s ever seen.
The moment you stepped into the greenhouse the downpour became more apparent than before, creating a steady tapping against the old glass. Condensation beaded on every windowpane it could access, and the puffy gray clouds were visible at every angle, creating the perfect ambience to read your book.
Draco set off to work almost immediately, shrugging off his robe and handing it to you with a kiss on the cheek before reading over the checklist Professor Sprout had made for him.
He started off with watering the herbs she’d listed, spraying their leaves first before watering at the base. He quickly found that to be a more effective way of doing things, giving the remaining water to the select few that could use more hydration.
It was a trick he’d seen quite a few gardeners use on his mother’s garden at the Manor, and the meticulously placed flowers and shrubbery seemed to respond well to the technique. That amongst many other things were something he observed in his days spent at home on the summer break. The acres of well manicured landscaping providing ample opportunities to escape and spend his time around something other than the four walls of his bedroom.
Once finished, he moved to clean up around the place, giving you a sweet smile any time he passed by you even if you hadn’t seen it. But the times you did catch his eye, the tips of his ears would burn a pale pink.
He picked up a couple pairs of gardening shears left out and a few brooms that lay knocked over from messy second year students, putting miscellaneous dragon-skin gloves back in their rightful cabinet with the others. Some might consider this to be rather boring, especially on a weekend where there were better things to be spent doing on the short break from schoolwork. But the distraction was something Draco needed and it was one he enjoyed, something he found he could use a bit more of lately.
Repotting mandrakes was last on the very brief list. They weren’t used very often anymore, not like they had been in second year. But if the need arised should anyone be petrified, it was good to have a few on hand for potions.
He undid the buttons on the cuffs of his white dress shirt before shoving the slightly wrinkled sleeves up to rest at his elbows. However, he seemed to have briefly forgotten the mark swirling across the pale skin on his forearm, promptly yanking that sleeve back down before grabbing the ceramic pots and a new bag of soil with a frown. He tried not to let it cloud up his train of thought and sour his mood.
Meanwhile, unbeknownst to his inner turmoil you had long since made yourself comfortable perched on a vacant spot on one of the old wooden tables, book cracked open in your hands. It hadn’t taken you very long to become immersed in it, as books usually do to its readers. And you could’ve sworn you might’ve heard Draco’s voice, whether or not it was directed at you, you were unsure.
A minute or two later he finished his preparations and glanced over his shoulder at you, sighing at the sight. The earmuffs he’d asked you to put on just moments ago still sat where he’d set them down on your lap, your eyes fixed on your book as his robe sat wrapped around your shoulders to combat the chilly evening weather. He walked the few feet over to you, picking them up.
“Sometimes I think you choose to tune me out, love,” Draco says, placing your earmuffs on your head gently, smiling when you lifted your head from your book. You offer a smile as your cheeks flush a soft pink.
“Sometimes,” you remark with a soft laugh, gaze returning to find the line you left off at. Truthfully you were beginning to lose focus anyway.
He set off to the task at hand with a smile, making short work of it though there’s only so much those earmuffs can do to filter out the shrill cries of these plants. It was a dreaded detail he hadn’t forgotten in his second year, always wondering how such a small creature could produce such a deafeningly fatal sound.
You decided any quality reading wouldn’t be achievable beyond that point, especially not with the humidity curling and warping the pages you tried to read from. It definitely was not because of the blonde who stood paces away from you, the very same humidity turning his once formally styled hair to mussed waves of platinum. Regardless of the reasons or their importance, you closed your book and made your way over to him.
“Do you need a hand with anything?” You ask, looking over the vast array of greenery before looking up at him. He pondered for a moment as he set the scrap piece of parchment down and rubbed his hands together to rid them of dirt.
“Could you take those extra pots to the storage cupboard?” He asks kindly, pointing to the two spares that sat untouched. You nod, grabbing the set from the table. “Thank you, darling.”
The frequently used name had still managed to make your heart flutter, your flustered distraction having you trip on the leg of the table. The pots in your hand were sent flying unceremoniously to the ground with a clatter, cheeks reddening from your blunder as you instinctively grabbed for them. As your finger ran along a sharp edge you quickly recoil with a surprised gasp, Draco tugging you to your feet in concern of the situation before you could fully hit the ground.
“Careful, Love!” He scolds softly, pulling your arm from your chest gently to see just what kind of accident he was dealing with.
Draco was quick to rush off to a cabinet on the far end of the greenhouse, freshly stocked with medicinal potions, some of which he’d gotten to make himself. He returned shortly with a small glass bottle, and he gently blotted at the fairly superficial cut running along the length of your pointer finger.
“What is that?” You ask softly as he gingerly holds your shaky hand, depositing a few drops over it. It stung a bit unexpectedly and your eyes widen a fraction as you watch it quickly heal as if nothing was ever there, curious gaze bouncing up to Draco. You tried not to pay any mind to the blonde strand that stuck adorablely to his forehead and focus on his words.
“It’s Essence of Dittany. I’ve just made this batch last week and it seems to be quite satisfactory,” he says, a small yet proud smile on his lips as he inspects your newly healed finger.
“I didn’t know you could do that,” you say with a soft laugh.
“There’s a lot you don’t know about me,” he quips, earning himself a pointed stare as you raised a questioning brow at him. He laughs as he puts the tiny bottle back where he got it, the shards of terra-cotta easily piecing themselves back together with a simple motion of his hand. “I’m only kidding, my love.”
You settle as he pulls you close by a gentle grip on your hands, releasing one to tuck your newly frizzy hair behind your ear. It was true, you were the only person to know most everything about him. Not one person in his social circle, not even his mother, knew his ins and outs like you and the thought both terrified him and comforted him all the same. But he knew you’d never cast an ounce of judgement his way. Not even for the mark ghosting over his arm that haunted his very thoughts the moment it was formed.
His calloused hand came to rest on your cheek, thumb brushing over flushed skin as his gray eyes took in every feature. The freckles that could only been seen in a close proximity, the curve of your lashes, the natural shade of pink coloring your bare lips. Soon he dipped down and kissed you, unable to refrain from doing so a moment longer. He always finds himself unable to resist it. You seem to enchant him, stronger than any love potion or magical spell could ever manage to evoke. And while true love is a scary thought, he doesn’t have it in him fight the very grip it has on his racing heart.
He parted from you reluctantly upon the sound of unfamiliar footfalls approaching, grabbing your hand with a laugh as the two of you run off towards the other exit hand in hand. The forgotten rain came as an icy shock once you ran out into it, but such inconveniences weren’t important when he pulls you in for another rain soaked kiss.
Astrarium: The Adventures Between Realms: An In-Depth Look
Tumblr media
What is Astrarium: The Adventures Between Realms?
Astrarium is a massive, written work of online fiction created by myself and my boyfriend Jonathan, with the art department fully manned by our best friend Tai (@cowboytai) and edited/possibly narrated by our other best friend Watta (found here at his YouTube channel).
The story follows the adventures of Artemis, or Ari as she's better known, a human girl raised by Dragons. The Dragons of are the deities of the universe, with a select group delegated to the task of Watchers, whom take the role of nurturing, shaping and recording the histories of the Seven Realms found in their universe. Ari, at age 16, is able to begin her training to become a Watcher (and the first ever human Watcher), and takes the four years of her training to explore each and every Realm, making friends and enemies along the way, and discovering more of who she is and who she wants to become.
We're currently looking at publishing it on its own website sometime in 2022. What we're looking at having done before then is the prologue, first five chapters, and the first trips to every Realm. Currently, we have the prologue and chapters 1-3 finished, with chapter 4 in progress along with the first round of trips. The prologue and chapters 1-5 will be posted together on the launch of the website. We will also have a Patreon set up for it, with some varying reward tiers!
What are the Realms?
There are Seven Realms featured in Astrarium, all named after constellations. They are Hydra (The Water Serpent), Auriga (The Charioteer), Ursa (Greater Bear), Cygnus (The Swan), Orion (The Hunter), Lepus (The Hare) and Lyra (The Lyre). Each one also features its own aesthetics, cultures, and even specialized races/species of civilized life.
Hydra takes place in a very water and island based world, with an aesthetic setting of the Age of Exploration/Golden Age of Piracy. There are seven major oceans on this world, and hundreds of islands, both inhabited and uninhabited and many filled to the brims with treasures. There are also large underwater cities that are elegantly built and homes to all sorts of academic pursuits.
Auriga is a world inspired by both the Old West and the Steampunk fashion and aesthetic. They have new inventions coming out every day, fueled not just by steam power but also by magical crystals. And they thrive off of having big communities that all rely on each other.
Ursa is a very natural world filled with gorgeous forests and lovely springs. It's world is heavily inspired by high fantasy, dungeons and dragons, and a certain other old tale that'll be evident in its cast of characters. It is filled with magics of all kinds and magical creatures left and right.
The citizens of Cygnus live on floating islands, all connected to each other by tethers, and the inhabitants fly anywhere they please. The aesthetic is based in 1920s/1930s fashion and glitz and glam, with a little bit of a seedy underbelly lurking in the city...as well as interesting horrors down in the jungles below them.
The Giantesses of Orion have kept to the simpler life, with a definite cottage core aesthetic throughout. They are an agricultural society with many settlements and even still wandering nomadic tribes that all unite for the big Games every year.
Lepus' people have been facing an endless winter for over a thousand years. The people have long forsaken and forgotten about their magic, and have relied heavily on science and technology to help rebuild their lives and try to find a way to combat the winter. It's a very sci-fi setting with some style influence from all over.
Lyra is the land of the dead and the home of an eternal party. With plenty of Halloween based influences, there is never a dull moment for those who find themselves in the built towns, and those who are stuck in the fog wander and sing their songs until they find their way to a new home.
Outside of the Realms, there is Dragons Keep, a large mountain in space that acts as the home to all Dragons. It's caves are vast and plentiful, winding all the way through from the head of the mountain, where the High Council meets, to the very bottom. And even with many areas claimed and made use of in this large mountain, there are always mysteries to be found.
Who are the characters?
Astrarium has one of the largest casts of characters we've worked with, with tons of new friends, rivals, and enemies for Ari to meet. Along with Ari, there is a main character for each Realm, with a cast of supporting characters.
Ari (she/her) acts as the main protagonist, helping guide some of the plot and seeing everything through her eyes. On Hydra, our protagonist is Gibbson "Gibbs" Cayde (he/him); on Auriga, Huxley "Huck" Holiday (he/him); on Ursa, Ronan Löx (he/him); on Cygnus, Clyde (he/him); on Orion, Fauna (she/her); on Lepus, Henrietta "Henri" Franklin (possibly she/they, still figuring it out!) ; and on Lyra, Alexei (he/him). Also on Dragons Keep, we have Aris' family, with her adopted mother/Mama, Arabella, her Uncle Killick, and her cousin, Libelle, who is a main character for Dragons Keep.
I hope to get to share more about our supporting cast with you all soon, as they all have some very interesting stories to get to share!
We also are working on art for the main characters as we speak, but we do have Ari's done and that can be found here!
More About The Team?
We're a group of friends who have all known each other since, for the most part, high school! While I'm someone that kind of wants to keep private lives private, I can say that these are the best group of friends to have and we're honestly like our own little family. We've workshopped other projects with each other since, God, like, my senior year of high school? Just about? It's been an insane ride together. We're also just a big bunch of nerds who are all really chill and fun to be around.
How Long is The Story Going To Be?
Astrarium is looking to be the longest project we'll ever do in terms of story timeline, and page count. As the Dragons are masters of time, Ari has the ability to actually mess with it slightly and create what is essentially a "Save point" for herself to go back to after she leaves a Realm. So say she leaves Hydra on a certain day. She can make that save point, go hang out in the other Realms, and come back and it'll be either that exact save point she left at or a few hours later, give or take (though, there are chances of "hiccups" in this, usually occurring when she leaves from Dragons Keep specifically, as it is considered to be outside of the normal flow of time!).
My goal is kind of a fun one of I want it to be one of the longest word count stories out there. I don't really know why I want it to be, other than I think it'd be really cool if I could beat out that Loud House fanfiction in terms of longest works in literature. That's just a nice little goal.
How Can Readers Support the Series?
Honestly, the best thing I can ask for is just getting this around! If anyone takes an interest in this series, reblogs and likes go a long way and are greatly appreciated. We also love, love, love questions!! It's a great feeling to see people want to know more and some questions can really get our thinking caps on to develop more and more! When the site launches, we will again launch the Patreon right alongside it, so if you want to financially support, there'll be reward tiers ranging from $1 a month and upwards! We may look at a Ko-Fi as well and if it looks like people are really interested in it, we may open a merch store and I do want to start releasing some of it as actual books you can have for your shelves!
Financial support is 100000% optional, though, for when that does happen, and like, everyone's situation is different, we just want to make it an option for our audience. But the best feeling in the world to us is seeing people's interest and them sharing it with their friends!
And if anyone has anymore questions, please please please feel free to ask! We're gonna be working on getting to share more updates here soon!! And thank you all for your time!!
HiJack AU - How to Train your Dragon (Aged Up HiJack version)
And not in any particular Series season, or movie timeline
Tumblr media
Jack doesn’t like to grow his hair too long, even with it being the preferred style for Vikings and Berkians. However, he does grow it a bit just so Hiccup has something to pull when they do bed room things.
When it comes to the relationship between Jack and Hiccup, (Officially making it Aster now because I just love him and Jack’s relationship) it’s surprisingly Stoick who plays good cop while Aster goes bad cop.
Aster is actually super protective of Jack, even as he tries not to be obvious about it.
Hiccup and Jack take turns (if you know, you know)
Jamie lives in Berk and is seen with Jack when Jack isn't with Hiccup. If Hiccup didn’t know he was courting Astrid, he would still be extremely wary when Jack and Jamie are having a good time together.
As it is, he is only slightly wary.
Jack still majors as a medic on the battlefield, but he makes sure to keep up with enough combat techniques to back up a reckless Hiccup. Even with Toothless, they’re not foolproof.
Especially not with Hiccup’s experiments on flight suits.
Toothless and Jack are so done with Hiccup’s clumsy falls with his flight suits.
Jack finally gets over his aquaphobia when he had to dive down partially frozen river to rescue Hiccup.
Valka and Jack get along swimmingly. Jack helps her relearn how to cook.
How I think the conversation would go at the beginning of Httyd 2
Jack: So, quick question to interrupt your mapping. *he says this while casually twirling his staff* I love flying with you and Toothless and all.
Jack: But any reason in particular you dragged me from Aster’s Trading post to go all the way out here?
Jack: Instead of, I don’t know… The race you’ve been preparing for weeks now?
Jack: I’m open with options that doesn’t involve clothes.
Hiccup: *Rolls his eyes as he answers curtly* Avoiding dad.
Jack: *In deadpan* Oh no.
Hiccup proceeds to explain things similar to canon. Jack doesn’t interrupt or anything, but he does mirror Hiccup’s actions playfully.
Hiccup finally notices at one point and tugs Jack down on his lap.
Jack: I like where this is going,
Hiccup: Could you— *he tries not to smile but come on this is Jack we’re talking about. Finally, he clears his throat* Jackson Overland, this is serious.
Jack: Okay, okay. I’ll behave.
Hiccup finally continues. And gets to the part of Stoick wanting to make Hiccup chief soon.
Jack: Sounds about right.
Jack: He’s the chief. You’re his son, the next in line.
Jack: What, did you except that you’d take over Gobber’s blacksmithing business?
Hiccup: That's— Well, I kinda hoped…
Jack: Hiccup…
Hiccup: It’s just… I’m not ready.
Jack: And that’s okay.
Jack: You’ll get to that point. You have it in you, Hic.
Hiccup: How could you know that?
Jack: Because
Jack: I believe in you.
Hiccup smiles softly and starts to lean in for a kiss.
Then a strange explosion erupted somewhere farther North of them.
A strange explosion… of Ice.
El’s interview
Tagged by the lovely  @thoseofuswhoblossom (if Tonglr isn’t messing things upagain hahah)
OC interview: Elandrin Aien
Draw (or use an old  drawing, don’t worry!) or take a screen of your character in an  interview setting and make them answer the following questions!
(Durmand Priory post in the Grove)
Tumblr media
INTRODUCTION
1. Can you introduce yourself?
-  Archon Elandrin Aien of the Durmand Priory, Secondborn of the sylvari and Knight of the Thorn. Pact Commander, but there’s a more prominent colleague of mine with that title and difference matters.
2. What is your gender identity, orientation and relationship status?
- I’m a man. The whole orientation business is just really confusing, why’d I ever have to label my attraction is beyond me, but since some people do (again, why?) I’d say I am what other races call... Gay? And taken.
3. Where and when were you born?
- I’m a sylvari secondborn.
4. What is your weapon of choice and fighting style?
- (he points towards Caladbolg Solana on his belt.) I was trained in stealth combat, but having fire magic and going stealth is actually quite a potent combination if one knows how to make the most of it.
5. Lastly, are you happy?
- (he’s quiet for a moment. he looks softer and earnest as he gives what could only be described as a gentle nod.)
FAMILY AND FRIENDS
1. What’s your family like? What is your relationship with them?
- I don’t have a family. I have Trahearne, I have Liv. If you’re asking for parents, I have the Pale Tree, who is my mother. They wouldn’t be “family” - whatever that means - if I wasn’t exceptionally close with them.
2. Have you ever ran away from home?
- Grove was safer when I was a sapling. In the outside world, asura could catch you and torture you for science, but in the Grove... I left the Grove later than many would think. It was a difficult time for our race.
3. Would you consider marriage or having children?
- Me? A father? Me, with the patience the size of my fingernail? (he points towards the nail on his pinkie.) A dog, maybe, that one sylvan pup has attached herself to me, but a child.. As for marriage, likewise no. Marriage is pointless if I desire to be with that person, we’ll be together regardless of whether a priest says some magic words or not.
4. Do you secretly hate one of your friends?
- I don’t have a lot of friends. They’re precious. You don’t hate precious.
5. Which friend knows everything about you?
- Trahearne.
ASKED BY FANS
1. Are you literate? Have you been to school?
- (he stares at the viewer, tapping his fingers violently against the table. his lips are pursed and he’s visibly trying to stay still.) Whoever asked that question will find themselves lacking a head very soon.
2. The eeriest prediction you made that later came true?
- (he’s quiet for a while, and when he speaks again, a lot of emotions flash in her eyes and his voice is tight and hissed.) “That jungle will kill you.”
3. What is something you were embarrassingly late to realize?
- That non-sylvari don’t speak my language! It’s actually a rather simple language, just- (he finishes the sentence on the language itself and grins like a gremlin cat.) I know two more.
4. Do you have mental health or physical issues?
- (his stare hardens and he squints suspiciously.) No.
5. What is your current main goal?
- Thaw those Krytans in ice from Lake Doric. Elder Dragon magic is so much fun to research! The “seams” of Jormag and Primordus’ magic are able to tear each other in select places because- You know what? Wait for the paper.
CHOICES
1. Drink or food?
- Drink. Plants needs watering.
2. Cats or dogs?
- Neither. Both are annoying most of the time.
3. Early bird or night owl?
- Night owl. I’m a NIghtbloom and am most productive at night and prefer to sleep during the day, if I can.
4. Optimist or pessimist?
- Realist.
5. Sassy or sarcastic?
- Sarcastic. Sassy is for more.. gentle folk.
HAVE YOU EVER
1. Been caught sneaking out
- Yes. Unsubtle fire magic.
2. Broke a bone
- Yes. Some falls land badly and bark goes- (he makes a breaking sound.)
3. Received flowers
- Some saplings have given me flowers. (he clears his throat.) There was this one warden who made excellent flower wreaths and made one of red roses and other red flowers for me to go with my Hopesday robes that year. He had quite nimble fingers, I have to say.
4. Ghosted someone
- It’s better than committing violence... Sometimes.
5. Pretended to laugh at a joke you didn’t get
- Human nobles tend to think themselves funnier than they actually are. They can’t flirt and they can’t tell jokes. If a human noble wants to tell you a joke, run in the other direction.
Friday 11/6/21 - Media (maybe) Recommendations #6
Contents this week:
Anime: Goblin Slayer
Anime: Keijo!!!!!!!!
Tumblr media
It's Friday and I didn't post much this past week. Time is a blur, and I haven't had a chance to watch any new anime for a couple weeks now. Sometimes it's hard to get into a new series, may it be finding the time, or finding something that you'd like. With this train of thought in mind, for this week's Friday Media Recommendations, I'm gonna discuss 2 anime that I enjoyed, but are hard to recommend.
I am prefacing these recommendations with the notion that these two series are EXPLICITY not for everyone.
Anime: Goblin Slayer
Tumblr media
The High Fantasy genre of fiction has wide appeal in every medium. For anime fans specifically, High Fantasy is a category welcome to fans of all types. There is Slice of Life Fantasy, Romance Fantasy, Shonen Fantasy etc. But while I would usually recommend every Fantasy Anime I've watched, Goblin Slayer is not for everyone.
Here's my pitch. Goblin Slayer is set in a high fantasy world with a very simple magic system and a clear schism between "player races" and "enemy races". The world operates very similarly to how a Dungeons and Dragon Anime would work, and during the opening, it even hints that all members of the main cast have their fates decided by the roll of a dice. The titular main character has a dark backstory that has meant he has sworn to dedicating himself to specifically hunting Goblins.
Tumblr media
Many adventurers look down on the Goblin Slayer for being an expert at such a low rank enemy, others recognise his talents, but think they are wasted on only hunting Goblins. In a light hearted fantasy story, the Goblin Slayer would be a quirky fun character, but this anime is deep and very dark.
It's hard to explain how without spoilers... Characters die in this anime. Characters we get to know first, and then we see them ripped to shreds, imprisoned, abused, and if they are saved, they are never the same again. Goblin Slayer does not shy away from depicting the most gruesome, heinous acts happening in real time to fleshed-out, named characters, in very vivid detail. If this anime was actually a D&D game, then the DM is actually trying to break his players, and punishes every wrong decision with a potential party wipe. And this cruel DM tells them the second by second details of how their characters are tortured to death.
Tumblr media
Now this anime has its light hearted moments. It has its wholesome moments where characters smile and care for each other. There's even hints of fanservice here and there. It is a High Fantasy like any other, where the adventurers go on quests, protect the towns, and recieve gold and level up. But it's also potentially traumatising.
Tumblr media
I enjoyed Goblin Slayer. It is a fun fantasy series where the characters are interesting and the world is engaging. And in an earlier blogpost, I said watching the first four episodes will help make your mind up.
With Goblin Slayer, this is not the case. Episode 1 is the most gruesome and heart wrenching episode in the series. So if you are squeamish at all and cannot handle detailed violence, do not watch Goblin Slayer, do not watch even the first episode. But if you watch Episode 1, are a bit shaken up, but keen to see where it goes, the series only gets better from there.
Anime: Keijo!!!!!!!!
Tumblr media
I am a relatively cultured nerd, I like depth and substance in my media, but I am also a bisexual, single young man who has never been in a relationship, so I appreciate senseless fanservice.
Fanservice is a very divisive topic within anime fans. Blatant lewd themes can be very out of place in some series and may ruin an otherwise serious mood. Many anime enjoyers may think that explicit fanservice in general has no place is an otherwise diverse, accessible genre of media. What if the genre devolves toward no story or meaning, with series of just boobs and butts? Well I have bad news for you.
Tumblr media
Keijo!!!!!!!! (yes the official title does have 8 exclamation marks) is a sports/shonen anime about an academy of girls fighting in the competitive sport of butt-powered watersports. The series follows a group of girls who have specialised movesets that could set them to be champions in a sport where the rules are: use your butt (and only your butt) to knock your opponents off a floating platform into the surrounding swimming pool. Keijo is the ultimate brain-off degeneracy anime, where it does not even try to hide the fact that the series' selling point is the celebration of the female form in a swimsuit.
Tumblr media
Like Food Wars, an otherwise simple concept is given depth by presenting each athlete's attacks as superpowers with shonen-style special effects and weight. Every fight has you on the edge of your seat as the girl's behinds become lethal weapons of (m)ass destruction. There is a set goal to the story, as Nozomi, the MC, has aspirations to take her academy to the top and become a world renowned sponsored superstar, the best of the best of hip whip combat.
Tumblr media
I am not gonna excuse the series as having hidden depth beyond its fanservice, the fanservice is 100% the main attraction. And if you are not a fan of fanservice just for the sake of it, and I fully understand people who dont, then probably give Keijo a miss. But if you are willing to give a chance to a show about pretty girls weilding their butts as watersports weapons, Keijo is a very fun anime that is not afraid to celebrate boobs, thighs, tummys, and butts.
Fate and Phantasms #155
Tumblr media
Today on Fate and Phantasms we're going back to the Servant Universe to preserve the Saber Empire, thanks to Mysterious Heroine X Alter! This mysterious heroine is a Psi Warrior Fighter for her legally-not-a-lightsaber skills and some legally-not-the-force, and a Bladesinger Wizard for more saber skills and legally-not-the-force lightning.
Check out her build breakdown below the cut, or her character sheet over here!
Next up: Once again, we came so close to making a build at an appropriate time. Oh well, he’s not one for the spotlight anyway.
Race and Background
You might come from another dimension, but you're still Human (er, servant), giving you +1 Dexterity, +1 Constitution, Acrobatics proficiency to help with the impractical swordfighting style you specialize in, and the Mage Slayer feat to ruin the original MHX's day. If a creature within 5 feet of you casts a spell, you can use your reaction to attack them. Your damage also causes concentration checks at a disadvantage, and you get advantage on saves against spells cast within 5 feet of you. MHX is pretty far from a mage, but this will interrupt her saber-tracking efforts.
That being said, you're still about as Far a Traveler as you can get, giving you proficiency with Insight and Perception.
Ability Scores
You are renowned for your ability to knock back sweets, and it's really hard to poison someone who literally has a reactor for a stomach, so we're gonna make your Constitution number one here. After that is going to be Intelligence, you did come from a science fiction world after all, I'm sure you know more than the average bear. Following that up is Dexterity, your armor is at most light, and no matter what form your sword takes it's still a light saber. Your Charisma isn't too bad, you've gotta be able to talk people into buying you mochi after all. Staying under that kotatsu all the time means your Strength isn't great, but we're dumping Wisdom. You want more saber faces in the world, if anything an 8's too much.
Class Levels
1. Fighter 1: First level fighters get proficiency in every weapon, and considering your sword can turn into a chainsaw I'd say that'll come in handy. You also get proficiency with Strength and Constitution saves, as well as two fighter skills. Intimidation matches your dark knight schtick, and Survival will help you cook up some sweets when you're left on your own.
You also get a Fighting Style. Your light saber comes in a variety of packages, but most of them are one handed. That means Dueling will be the most useful for you, giving you +2 on damage rolls while using only one one-handed weapon.
You also get the bonus action Second Wind, letting you stuff yourself with sweets to heal a bit once per short rest.
2. Fighter 2: Second level fighters get an Action Surge, letting you add an action to your turn once per short rest. You spent so much time lazing around, you were just... saving up for when it counted. Yeah.
3. Fighter 3: If you want to be a sith knockoff, you can't go wrong with being a Psi Warrior. When you take the subclass you gain Psionic Powers, powered by psionic dice. They're d6s (that grow when you level up) equal to twice your proficiency bonus that recharge on short rests. Currently, you can use them in three ways.
Your Protective Field lets you spend a reaction and a die to reduce the incoming damage a creature near you is taking by the die roll plus your intelligence modifier.
A Psionic Strike adds the roll + int mod in force damage to a weapon attack to light up your saber once per turn.
You can also use Telekinetic Movement to move a large or smaller object/willing creature up to 30 feet. You can do this once per short rest for free, or by using up a psionic die.
4. Fighter 4: Use this ASI to bring up your Dexterity so your sword skills aren't as bad. You're a saber after all, you've gotta be on your A game! You are a saber, right?
5. Fighter 5: Fifth level fighters get an Extra Attack. It isn't exactly rocket science, but it is very useful.
6. Wizard 1: Moving over to wizard now nets you an Arcane Recovery, helping you recover a couple spell slots on a short rest once per long rest.
Speaking of, you also learn Spells. So many spells. They use your Intelligence for casting and preparation. You get stuff like Shocking Grasp for a cheap force lightning, Mage Hand for some telekinesis that doesn't use resources, your standard gish setup, Mage Armor to make your hoodie worth something, and Absorb Elements to put that magic reactor in your chest to good use.
And that's only some of the spells you could use! Check the character sheet for more.
7. Wizard 2: If you want to blur the line between nerd and sith lord like we do, Bladesinger is a pretty good choice. You get Training in War and Song, which gives you a bunch of proficiencies you already have from fighter as well as Performance. Foreshadowing!
You can also perform a Bladesong proficiency times per long rest if you aren't using heavy armor or two-handed weapons. The song lasts a minute and uses a bonus action to start. While active, you add your Intelligence modifier to your AC and concentration saves, your walking speed goes up by 10, you have advantage on acrobatics checks.
You can also Cause Fear as part of your membership with the Dark R.O.U.N.D.S., and you also get some sci-fi gadgets to Detect Magic.
8. Wizard 3: Third level wizards get second level spells, with Magic Weapon making your light saber a bit fancier and Dragon's Breath for a more dramatic (and consistent!) use of your lightning powers.
9. Fighter 6: Bouncing back to fighter for a bit nets you another ASI to bump up your Intelligence for stronger spells and telekinesis. Again, not flashy but very useful.
10. Fighter 7: Seventh level psi knights gain two new ways to use their psionic dice thanks to being Telekinetic Adepts.
You can use a Psi-Powered Leap once per short rest or by using a psionic die to gain a flying speed equal to 2x your walking speed for the turn for big anime jumps. Dramatically launching yourself at your foes for air combat framed by the moonlight has never been easier.
Alternatively, your Telekinetic Thrust empowers your Psionic Strike, forcing a strength save (dc 8+proficiency+intelligence mod). If they fail the save, you can either knock the target prone or push them 10 feet in any horizontal direction.
11. Wizard 4: Back in wizard for a bit. This level gives you another ASI, so grab the Telekinetic feat, which increases your Intelligence by 1, lets you cast Mage Hand without making it obvious and with an increased range, and you can make telekinetic shoves as a bonus action, pushing a creature 5 feet away or towards you if they fail a strength save.
You also learn the cantrip Green-Flame Blade which makes your saber give off a bit more light and the spells Enhance Ability to activate your true power that's been sealed away for millennia. You also also get Levitate to force choke some people. They don't take damage from the spell, but it opens them up for you walloping them, so same difference.
12. Wizard 5: Fifth level wizards get third level spells, Haste lets you run anime fast for up to a minute- you also get advantage on dex saves and +2 to your AC, but after the spell ends you have to take a nap. You also get the big guns- Lightning Bolt. 100 feet of range, dealing 8d6 lightning damage to creatures that fail a dexterity save. An elegant lightning spell from a more civilized age.
13. Wizard 6: Sixth level bladesingers get something very special: an Extra Attack! It still doesn't stack with your fighter one, but now you can use a cantrip in place of one of your attacks! Roast them with lightning then hit 'em with a sword!
You can also use Fear to be an intimidating presence to multiple people at once, and Catnap to pull out the kotatsu.
14. Fighter 8: Use this ASI to bump up your Dexterity once more for even better weapon attacks and AC.
15. Fighter 9: Ninth level fighters get Indomitable, letting you re-roll a failed save once per long rest. Don't even bother with the wisdom saves, it's not going to happen.
16. Fighter 10: Tenth level Psi Knights have a Guarded Mind, letting you resist psychic damage and burn psi dice to end effects that are charming or frightening you at the start of a turn. See? Told you you didn't have to worry about wisdom saves!
17. Fighter 11: Congratulations on yet another Extra Attack! To be honest, I'm not entirely sure how that stacks with your bladesinger attacks, but that's a headache for your DM to figure out!
18. Fighter 12: Another ASI, bump up your Int again for more AC, Spells, and telekinesis.
19. Fighter 13: Thirteenth level fighters get a second use of Indomitable per long rest, and it's totally not because WotC was running out of ideas, no sir!
20. Fighter 14: Your capstone level is another ASI, which we'll use to get your bond CE thanks to Servo Crafting! You use Find Familiar as a ritual to create a little robot buddy who acts mostly like a normal familiar. Aside from that, you can see and speak through the servo as long as it's on the same plane, and you can ignore one of your own attacks to let the little buddy attack instead. Honestly this probably would have been more useful way earlier, but it's a bond CE, what did you expect?
Pros:
Your various forms of telekinesis give you a great deal of battlefield control, helping you manipulate the positions of enemies and allies to your advantage.
You also have great saves with two of the big three: dexterity and Constitution. Add on the fact that you can shut down the biggest problems caused by failed wisdom saves practically at will, and you're a big threat for magic users.
While your physically aren't great at burst damage like assassins or paladins, you make up for that with gobs of consistency and longevity in melee combat. You've got almost 200 HP, and an AC of 13 + your dexterity mod (4) and your intelligence mod (4). 21 AC in a hoodie is not bad at all!
Cons:
While you can shut off the worst of it, your Wisdom saves are atrocious, and will still cause you problems against illusions.
While it doesn't come into effect until very late into the build, the weirdness surrounding how your extra attacks mesh will have to be addressed eventually
Servo Crafting really doesn't do anything for your build. Not only is it not useful, if you were willing to get rid of it you could invest more into wizard levels and get Bigby's Hand for a real force choke.
The Character Forge: How to Play as Link in DnD 5e
Tumblr media
Link is without a doubt one of the most iconic heroes in fiction, which is why I’m excited to work on this build of Link. Now, of course Link has a long history of games where he’s had a wide variety of skills and abilities. So, for this build, I wanted to focus on his most recurring skills and items, and try to find DnD items with similar effects, if possible, to fill out his arsenal. Link is a multi-talented young man who has a talent for many skills, weapons, and items. He’s extremely flexible in what he can work with, and that was a primary focus of this build: to broaden his abilities as much as I could.
Tumblr media
The Makings of a Hero
Hylians are clearly some kind of elf. You could make Link a Human or Variant Human if you want, but if it looks like an elf and it hyaas like an elf, chances are it’s an elf. There are a lot of kinds of elf he could be. Hylians are closely connected to the gods and think highly of themselves, so High Elf is a strong possibility. But Link is also something of a wilderness expert, so he could be a Wood Elf too.
Link is clearly good, but where on the goodness scale is a little less clear. He is a champion for goodness and light, so he could be Lawful Good, but he’s also jokingly famous for breaking into random houses and smashing random pots to steal people’s hidden money, so he could fall under Chaotic Good. And that divide could also make him Neutral Good.
As for background, that also tends to differ between game. Sometimes he’s a simple villager, a rancher, a farmer, a knight, an amnesiac foreigner. He’s so inconsistent that it’s better to just give him a background that covers the skills he doesn’t pick up from his build. Top contenders for Link’s background would be Outlander, Knight of the Order, Soldier, Far Traveler, and Folk Hero.
Stats & Proficiencies
Honestly, Link was hard to stat balance at first. I figured his best stat should be Constitution to correlate with a late-game number of heart containers. Link needs to be able to take a serious hit, and he spends most of the game getting a bigger health bar for just that very reason. Aside from Constitution, nothing really stood out as more important, though Intelligence and Charisma can get the shaft a bit, as Intelligence covers mostly book-learning which Link isn’t really known for, and largely in part to being a mute, aside from dancing in the Subrosia dance hall or playing his Ocarina, Link isn’t exactly great with Charisma-based skills. That’s not to say he’s really bad at anything, though. Link is a real Renaissance Man, as he’s good pretty much everything. Which means he shouldn’t have any negative modifiers. But Link is also not the pinnacle of strength, durability, or insightfulness. He needs items to perform feats of great strength, speed, or stamina, and wouldn’t get very far without them, so he’s also not going to be the max in any of his stats either. Rather, he’s going to be competent in Intelligence and Charisma, and fairly good at everything else.
If you succeed, you can use Sneak Attack against the creature even without advantage for up to a minute. Doesn’t work if you’re disadvantaged. Wears off if you target a new creature with this feature.      Know Your Enemy: If you spend at least 1 minute outside of battle observing a creature, the DM will tell you whether the creature is superior, inferior, or equal to you in any 2 of the following stats: Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, AC, Current HP, Total Class Levels, or Fighter Class Levels.      Natural Explorer: Favored Terrains are Grasslands and Forests. While in your favored terrains: double proficiency bonuses for INT and WIS checks you’re proficient in, difficult terrain doesn’t slow your party down, always alert for danger, can move stealthily at a normal pace when traveling alone, find double food when foraging, and when tracking anything, you can tell how big they were, how many there were, and how long ago they passed through.      Sharpshooter: Attacking from long range doesn’t disadvantage ranged attack rolls, ranged weapon attacks ignore half and 3/4 cover, and you can -5 on a ranged weapon attack roll to add +10 to the damage roll on a successful hit.      Slayer’s Prey: As a bonus action, pick a creature within 60 feet of you. Add 1d6 damage to the first attack you make against that creature.      Sneak Attack: Add 2d6 to damage roll when you have advantage, or another enemy of the target is within 5 feet of it.      Thieves’ Cant: You can articulate covert messages in casual conversations.      Trance: Trance for 4 hours instead of sleeping for 8.      Wanderer: You have an excellent memory for terrain and don’t need a map. You can remember where to find settlements, foraging spots, and geographical landmarks. You can always find enough food and water to sustain yourself and up to 5 more people provided the land can provide food and drinkable water.
I’m sure there’s some who will disagree with my picks, but I optimized a build around looking for enemy weaknesses, having a ton of proficiencies, and having a wide and varied arsenal of weapons at Link’s disposal. If you’d build Link another way, tell me what you’d do different. Who do you want to see me make next? And as always, I look forward to seeing you again at the Character Forge, where heroes are made.
