no matter how hard they tried to pit you guys against each other, they could never make me hate any of you

just cause I like one, doesn't mean I have to hate the others. I love all 4 of my silly little babies.

I think constantly about Pudding and Sanji being obviously parallels of each other and how fucked up it is that Pudding had to live the life Sanji managed to escape but she constantly gets hate online as if she hadn't been literally manipulated by her mother through the whole fucking arc. But okay. Yes. God forbid women have any sort of trauma response and if they do they're not allowed to have a redemption arc because of course they're extremely evil for making your silly baby boy cry and they don't have a heart even though it's explicitly shown in screen that they do and they regret their past actions.

I need to like set aside a day to just study Sniper's character because the way he's treated in fandom VS how he's presented in canon material is so different and it's messing with my brain

The idea that some people still think Nesta’s main traits are supposed to be bitchy, mean, and a hater…idk what to tell you but the whole point of her healing journey is to not be those things because all it did was hurt everyone around her and herself.

So how do you feel about Alina's character?
My feelings for her are complicated at best, anon.
And only lately I realized that I'm more in love with the potential she had rather than her canon self.
In the beginning, I liked her because I found her a mood. Her humour and attitude were entertaining to me. But as the months passed I realized that her main personality traits do not fit in this fictional world.
She's irresponsible, immature (and nobody start the "she was a child/teenager" bullshit to me. She was a legal adult by the Grishaverse standards and you would expect someone that had a rough childhood mature faster), selfish and lacks common sense and empathy. If she were a side character these characteristics wouldn't bother me but alas she's the main character. The girl that both the Ravkans and the readers expected to bring positive change and balance with her efforts by the end of the trilogy.
And guess what? Nothing of that happened.
I have one question for Leigh Bardugo.
If you wanted to show how not all girls want crowns, then why did you pick the main character that everybody depends on to show it??
We have wars, a genocide, hate, corruption and imbalance plaguing the main kingdom of this story and for two books straight the author had the readers and the character herself believe that she'll change everything. But not only didn't any kind of change happened, but the main character herself didn't change LMAO.
Alina had no character development and when a main character doesn't have that, then the story itself can't develop. Leigh stripped her of her powers and made her go and marry Mal while the main problems still reigned.
So my feelings for the potential she had? A girl that turned her weaknesses into strength and decided to find courage inside herself instead of depending on her toxic "friend". A woman that embraces both her light and her darkness and decides to protect her people no matter what, even if she has to sacrifice her own happiness. Now that character I love and stan.
My feelings for her canon self? I feel sorry for her mostly. She deserved a better author that would allow her to develop and not take away a huge chunk of her soul. People say "Oh but she deserved happiness". Well, aside from the fact that her ending was NOT happy, when you create a world that is full of problems you can't expect to keep your MC happy AND the rest of the Ravkans happy.
Take Daenerys for example. Is she happy? No. Did she still sacrifice everything to fight slavery and keep her children safe and free? Yes. And that made her a very sympathetic character to the rest of us that has read her story.
Because it's not about "the main character deserves happiness" but "the main character needs to do the job she was assigned to do, no matter what". Main characters exist to get the job done (whether that is to free slaves, rule a country or kill the bad guy) and Alina did nothing.

i'm trying to understand why there is this assumption that bertha will disapprove marian as her daughter in law. i know there's a lot of talk about larian being some kind of romeo and juliet, but even though bertha and agnes dispises each other, bertha never disliked marian actually it was quite the opposite. the only thing that could make bertha disaprove their union is that marian is peniless, but her position in society (coming from a old money family with a lot of conections) is more importan since larry is already rich (also marian is probably ada's heir now she isn't poor anymore). anyway to close this off carrie coon already said recently that bertha even admires marian sense of independency. so we don't know what will happen but until now there's no reason to think that bertha will be against their marrige

Wondering if Astrid's character is actually bad. Or if people see her, the female love interest, in a relationship with the main male character, see her girly and emotional side on top of the badass warrior side, see her get in trouble and be saved by her main male character boyfriend (completely disregard that he needs just as much saving and that she does a lot of that saving) and then call her character bad.

What IS a redemption arc to these writers, exactly?
Because the ONLY thing that Clear Sky has changed about his behavior, by A Forest Divided, is that he's not actively murdering people. He's controlling. He's a bully. He's misconstruing the words of the StarClan cats to create a justification for why he should be in power.
He's even physically abusive again when he gets upset, later. And that's not even counting his sadistic, self-absorbed behavior in sequel books.
We keep getting passages like this;
Tumblr media
Which keeps turning his murder and abuse into "Just A Little Mistake," explicitly PART OF LIVING.
Ghosts are tumbling out of the fucking heavens to powder his ass, forcing his mom to forgive him for absolutely nonsensical reasons, saying that killing Rainswept Flower was "predestined" and "just an accident" and he had no control over it, anyway(???). And now, here is the hollowed-out shell of Storm, who was driven out of the Clan while pregnant because Clear Sky's actions were getting innocent cats MAULED AND KILLED, insisting her abusive husband's behavior never drove anyone away and they just had their own paths to walk.
So what IS a redemption arc supposed to be to these writers?
If Clear Sky was NEVER actually that bad, in the 5 books we saw where he's a controlling, power-hungry monster who constantly resorts to physical violence, that what IS the change he needs to make? If it's both a mistake he's totally learned from, YET ALSO he's never done anything wrong??
Do you SEE how these are contradictory ideas? They can't exist together. It's like the writers are just grasping at whatever insane bullshit they can think up and throwing it on the page, because at the end of the day, what they do is write Fundamentally Good and Fundamentally Evil characters.
Because Clear Sky is one of their Fundamentally Good cats, he has nothing to confront. They try to say "the guilt is the worst punishment for him!" and also "He shouldn't feel guilty for anything he did!" and it leaves us with absolutely nothing.

Your art is soo incredibly pretty! Are we allowed to use it as profile pictures(obviously with proper credit)?
Oh didn't I answer this ask before? I'm pretty sure I did ahah, but as I said before, yes you are free to use my art as profile pictures! Credit is appreciated but not obligatory! I really don't mind
Oh and while I'm here, for everyone else, comic dubs are allowed too as long as it's credited! And I'd always love to see the result so don't be scared to send it to me! ❤
For reposts, I know I can't really stop anyone from reposting but just know that I don't really appreciate it. I post a lot here and a lot less on twitter for example, and most of the time it's because I'm not always comfortable sharing some of my posts on twitter because I'm not sure what reactions I could get,, same for ig, and I don't even have tiktok. I know some of you mean well and just want to share my posts on a wider audience on other socials (especially the funny comics and I understand why ahah) but please understand that I'm not always comfortable with my art circulating on other social medias, please try to respect that!

Blake: grew up fighting for her rights at a young age, had to hide who she was so she wouldn’t be discriminated against going to beacon, was emotionally and physically abused by a man growing up and was left by her parents in an organization they knew wasn’t going in the right direction
Some people in the fandom: Blake grew up privileged and had no struggles because her parents now have a big home
For the love of god people Blake never grew up in the big house her parents have now. They didn’t get their big home until Blake was in her teenage years and even then she still didn’t live in it. Not to mention her parents worked to get their home now, nothing was handed down to them. And having a big home doesn’t automatically mean you grew up privileged, especially when your apart of a group whose rights have been taken away and are actively being discriminated against

I get to stand on this stage every single night of this tour and watch the most beautiful things happen. I watch you guys make friends with each other, I watch you bond, I watch you give each other friendship bracelets...I see so many beautiful interactions happen, and I hear so many stories about friends that were made at these shows, and I watch it happen every night. It's the most unbelievable thing to watch. And so I was hoping to ask you that, as we lead up to [Speak Now TV] coming out, I would love for that kindness and that gentleness to extend onto our internet activities, right? So, what I'm trying to say is, I am putting this album out, because I want to own my music, and I believe that any artist who has the desire to own their music should be able to. That's why I'm putting out this album. I'm 33 years old. I don't care about anything that happened to me when I was 19, except the songs I wrote and the memories we made together. So, what I'm trying to tell you is, I am not putting this album out so that you can go out, and should feel the need to defend me, on the internet, against someone you think I might have written a song about 14 billion years ago. I do not care. We have all grown up. We're good.

Can someone please either validate me or send me to the Corner of Shame? This is very silly but I'm wondering.
So. I was talking to my sister the other day about movies and such, and she told me of one she recently watched with this one actor. And I casually mentioned how much I hated him. Not in a "he's a bad actor" or "he's a bad person" way. Nothing to do with whether I find him attractive or not. Just in a "he looks the most punchable guy on earth and I have this irrational rage against him" way, to the point that I just can't watch movies with him without being annoyed.
My sister looked at me like I was crazy because, "what do you mean you hate the guy". And I told her yeah? That's normal? Don't you have at least one person you can't stand for no reason?
Sister was like 😬😬😬 No??? Which is wild to me, because I could easily name 50 (which I did - not 50 but we were getting close to 20 before i got too annoyed lmao).
Now she thinks I'm slightly insane (/j) (I made myself angry and may have referred to a few individuals as "stupid" and "obnoxious"), and I kinda don't believe I am the only person alive who feels this way. But also she's an incredibly empathetic extrovert, while I'm a very low empath socially anxious creechur so. There's that?? I guess ?? Idk.
Can anyone relate to this? Or am I the weird one?
Also wait. Little disclaimer: I am not generally a violent person AT ALL. Do i get annoyed and angry easily? Yeah. Do I feel like bitch slapping someone right across their stupid face? Yeah, sometimes, sure. Do I do something about it? Not really.
I can be real bitchy and extra sarcastic and petty SURE, but that's the most I'll do if I am legitimately angry. Mostly I just go to my room and cry 🥺 (crying when angry yes it me). So yeah. Before yall think I have unsolved anger issues.
#if you're curious. the guy in question is Thimothée Chalamet#look. from what i've seen he's good at his job and he seems a genuinely nice guy#nothing against him at all like. you go timmy 🙂👍#i do however have an illogical boiling rage against him#i don't know what it is but i genuinely feel like punching his face everytime he pops up#maybe in another universe we were arch enemies. maybe i was his school bully. maybe HE was my school bully idk#obviously i would never do anything like that but if there's one person that looks like it could use a wedgie is him#and don't get me wrong. i DO feel about about it cus it's not like i'm choosing to be irrationally angry#and this goes for a bunch of other people#i just!!! 😡😡😡#seeing him (as in his vibe and general presence. nothing to do with physical appearance)#is the equivalent of trying to use cling film while it keeps sticking to itself#you know that one family guy scene with Peter and the cling wrap?? YEAH. THAT. genuinely so annoyed#i've always assumed this was a common thing. as in. there's always at least one person that gets on your nerves for absolutely no reason#but i guess maybe not???? *am* i a hater???#and btw this ONLY happens with either celebrities (in various degrees)#or people irl i've had some close proximity to <- and in this case it's always justified. i don't generally hate irl people out of nowhere#(okay there is ONE person in specific BUT i do feel slightly justified IMO. and in any case i always make sure to be as nice as possible)#(because poor girl didn't really do nothing wrong. i just have never vibed with her. i tried!! but yeah)#idk where i'm going with this lmao i might just ending up deleting it#whatever. don't worry guys you're all safe i love you very much and wouldn't slap any of you (unless asked you little freaks 👀)#darya talks to herself

considering that i don't even go out of my way to read what people think it's baffling how many absolutely vile takes i've seen about hod. angela and binah get a lot of shit, gebura often gets reduced to dommy mommy killing machine with zero depth, tiph is a 2 for 1 deal because she happens to be a kid on top of being a female character, but with all of them i can at least tell why people hate and misunderstand them (different flavors of misogyny coupled with the lack of reading comprehension, the usual). hod tho? she's like a magnet for the worst misogynistic pieces of shit you'll accidentally see in a comments section while looking up something. it gets so bad that it circles back to being confusing. avid hod haters are a special type of guy to me, and i despise each and every one of them

Every song of mine is a queer song because I’m a queer artist. Does that mean that every song is “I am G-A-Y”? No. I think there’s gonna be a lot of room in my artistry to talk about things other than that I love women. And “I eat boys like you for breakfast” does not translate into “I hate men and I only date women.” It means this one guy is a d— and I can take him in a fight. I’m a pansexual artist, so I’m attracted to and in love with who I’m attracted to and in love with.
dove cameron is pansexual heyyyy 💖💛💙🥳
