I would just like to point out something because I've recently checked on the Attack on Titan dub while rewatching some episodes.

For context: しっかりしろ : shikkari shiro: definition and meaning: Pull yourself together; Shape up, Stand strong; Don't give up; Hang in there (しっかりしろ 意味：しっかりしろ)

When Sasha gets shot, Connie screams しっかりしろ (shikkari shiro) in the Japanese dub. Translated as shown below:

But in the English dub, Connie screams "Stay with me". As shown below:

Now in the RivaMika context, Levi screams the exact same thing in the raw version.

I have a feeling that not all anime translations will end up being "Stay with me". But, I have good faith that in the English dub, Matthew Mercer (Levi's dub VA) will say these exact words. 😌

I've been seeing posts on this site recently about Isayama maybe doing a spinoff about Levi, and now I can't help thinking about Levi traveling Paths to save Mikasa from messing up the timelines or maybe that little boy with the dog in the last chapter is actually his descendant and that's why we don't ever see his eye color because Levi has such distinctive eyes.

YES OKAY SO I don't even remember if I've already mentioned this, but I've always thought it was strange that the whole ~Mikasa's memories can't be tampered with because she's an Ackerman~ thing was established... AND YET NO ONE TALKS ABOUT HOW ANY OF IT AFFECTS/DOESNT AFFECT LEVI. THE OTHER ACKERMAN.

A slight fun idea I've had that def isn't going to happen lol (and is also a fanfic idea I've always wished to have the balls to attempt) is exactly this, anon!! That just like Mikasa, Levi also has these subconscious and vague memories from past timelines, etc -- and this is why he's so centered on the "make choices you'll least regret" philosophy. Putting my Rivamika-romance sunglasses on, what if Levi can feel the regret of his choices in past timelines regarding Mikasa... ;-; And at the moment Mikasa is having a headache remembering Cabin timeline w Eren WHO LOOKS LIKE LEVI (hello, undercut and tea on the cabin table), Levi is also remembering the one and single timeline in which he and Mikasa actually fell in love; that every other timeline has been utter failure due to his choices.

And then he's at this moment in the final battle, where Mikasa is about to die, but he still swoops in to save her because he knows how this timeline is meant to end. omg

The fun thing is that (if AOE timelines is true) all it takes for Mikasa to stop intentionally starting new timelines is for her to fall out of love w Eren, to stop wishing to bring him back, etc... maybe by falling in love w someone else.

Maybe she doesn't have to die!! MAYBE SHE JUST NEEDS TO FALL IN LOVE W LEVI AND ALL IS SOLVED, GODDAMMIT

I'm also curious about the Levi spinoff comments from Isayama. He totally could and ALL of us would eat that up. But it's interesting because we technically already have No Regrets which gives a lot of backstory to Levi already, so now I'm curious what more backstory does Isayama have in mind for Levi? Child Levi after Kenny leaves? How Levi grows up to be the Underground's top thug?

Does he have an ENTIRELY different backstory for Levi? Was No Regrets (not written by Isayama) considered non-canon?

Idk about angst (I enjoy it but It's not something I actively search) but either angsty, fluffy, smutty and/or funny, I'm proud to say we have a lot of wonderful writers around us! l can personally vouch for anything by our queen chaosisbeauty23; also onigiridorkk has lovely fics, esp. Microcosmos, The Perfect Brew and 104th's Top Cadet; MoraLeeWright is like the Shakepeare of Rivamika. My fave by her is Just until the Storm is Gone, and The Song Remains the Same is one of the most original rm fics I've read. Alienheartattack has a plethora of one-shots, my fave being To You, 20 Years From Now (and To All Of Us, From 2000 Years Ago, but that's not rivamika).

If I may interest you in some ongoing fics, hrarby's For You is definitely in the angsty side. She's got a beautiful prose, too. Also angsty is Byhimawari's Languishing. Agentwarbarbie's The Shadow of the Prince is a great royalty AU that'll have you holding your breath.

The Broken Doll is a masterpiece of platonic Levi/Mikasa; last but not least, if you really wanna bawl, Beloved Mother is a heart-gutting Levi centric, non-ship fic.

“Candid”

(a RivaMika drabble/ modern day au)

“Oh! Today is MCM.”

Levi raised his brow questionably before sipping his tea as he watches his girlfriend scroll on her phone, “What the hell is MCM?”

Mikasa looks up and a faint tint forms on her cheeks, her expression a tad embarrassed and timid, “It stands for Man Crush Monday. People post it on social media with the hashtag MCM.”

Levi can tell by the way she's fidgeting in her seat and how her eyes drift to and from him every other second that she's suggesting that she wants to do post as well, but is too shy to ask. A childish trait, but undisputedly adorable if it's from her, and oddly enough, it is one of the reasons he's in love with her.

He'll cave in, like he always does, proving himself a weak man to her wants. But Levi decides to have a little fun with her first.

"Oh?" Levi smirks, placing the teacup down, his stare teasing, "And who is this man crush of yours?"

Mikasa pouts with a glare, already catching on to his game, "Who do you think?"

"No clue. Enlighten me."

She rolls her eyes with an exasperated laugh. Then she looks at him with a challenging gleam in her eyes. Levi thinks for a split second how cute she is.

"Well," she starts, sitting back and crossing her arms, "He's an awfully sarcastic old man with a dry sense of humor."

"Dry?" Levi scoffs out a chuckle.

"Yup," Mikasa says with tight smile, seemingly trying to keep herself from laughing, "He also always has such a grumpy look on his face. And he's a clean freak. Always wants everything spotless. Thinks tea is better than coffee."

"Smart guy. You have good taste."

"I do," she agrees, uncrossing her arms and sitting back up straight, scooting closer, "He's also very handsome."

"Oh?"

"And selfless. Protective. Caring. He makes me the happiest girl alive," Mikasa says, the blush on her cheeks deepening but her smile remains, "I'm really so lucky to have him."

The sincerity in her eyes and her words of affection pull at something pleasant in his heart, something like thankfulness. He returns the same look back.

"Sounds like a decent man."

Her smile grows and automatically, the world around them seemed brighter.

"He's quite alright. Though, he'll be even better if he lets me take his photo of him right now because he looks so incredibly handsome.”

With a chuckle and shake of his head, completely awestruck and humored by this woman, Levi finally caves in.

"Fine, you win."

Mikasa, of course, does her little victory smirk before picking up her phone in excitement.

"Okay, pose."

Levi stares at her oddly, a bit dumbfounded, actually, as he's not used to having his photo taken without her. He told himself to just smile, but awkwardly enough, he can't seem to do so on command. So instead he just eyes upwards, thinking much too hard about how he should pose.

"Levi...what are you looking at?"

"Just take it already," Levi says, doing his damn near hardest to suppress his embarrassment, still looking up, "This is--"

"It's perfect!"

Levi brings his gaze down and looks at her confusedly, "You already took the photo?"

"Yes. Photos always look better when they're candid," Mikasa giggles.

He was about to protest, but he sees her staring at the photo with such warmth and admiration in her eyes, a soft, joyful smile planted on her lips, as though the person in the photo takes up such a special space in her heart. Levi's own heart betrays him and suddenly his face flushes, in awe of the woman in front of him, a remembrance of how lucky he was that his crush on her bloomed into something much greater.

It gives him an idea.

"Your turn," he says simply, picking up his phone and turning on its camera.

Mikasa at first blinks in surprise, but soon she smiles warmly. She then picks up the mug and reaches for her pastry, already willing. It appears she's been prepared and it makes him chuckle inside.

"Okay, let me pose with--"

*click*

"Beautiful."

Mikasa turns her head to him with surprised eyes, her mug mid-air in her hand, "Wait you took it already? I wasn't ready!"

Levi looks at the photo he took, marveling at her enchanting features, and is reminded again about just how lucky he is to have such a beautiful woman in his life to call his. This time, welcomes his smile.

"You're right. Photos do look better candid.”

Crack poll time.....

Captain Levi Motherfucking Ackerman.

Maybe not my personal favorite, but a character we all love and respect. And barring Armin Arlert, the only consistent good in the series from start to finish.

So my question today is this:

As far as I'm concerned, neither ending cuts it. I'm not even going to mince words on that one.

Really any chance Levi had at a truly satisfying ending went out the window with Hange's death. His last surviving best friend and the last person you could argue he might've settled down with in peacetime.

In my opinion, not even Attack on Titan's most popular character received any due justice for the crap he endured. Both endings are totally half-assed, and his connection with these characters is superficial and surface-level. I've always said before he has NOTHING with Gabi or Falco, and I stand by that. The anime ending I think suggests somebody else felt the same way. But saddling him with Yelena, who essentially boils down to a terrorist who actively aided the man who left him horribly maimed......Think about that. Very much a similar case of how he never punished Annie for the loss of his squad.

We never even got a clarification on his connection to Mikasa. Once again, NO RIVAMIKA FANS, you are not allowed to bring your bizarre shipping fantasies on that front here.

I'd like you all to be honest with yourselves........You can't be happy with Levi's treatment in this last season. I sure as hell am not. Nothing about this ending works, and his apparent outcome is no exception as far as I'm concerned.

it's been a long time coming but i'm at 40% of the 4 chapter of "for you"! i hope i can write more this weekend, but i'm juggling with a lot of projects right now, so here's a little spoiler/paragraph filled of silences:

He wasn’t—Sina, he wasn’t. Although he couldn’t tell her that maybe it had something to do with her presence. He shook his head at her and then took her mug. He asked if she was up for one more tea. She said yes. Said she couldn’t sleep even so. He walked to the stoves and refilled the teapot. When the silence filled the kitchens, they both basked in it. Maybe it was their language, Levi thought. They were both too harsh with words, and anyway, some things were best left unspoken. He peeked at her over her shoulder. She was looking at him, too, and unabashedly now. Caught, she smiled a bit. Then, she laughed. She said again, Sorry. And just like she had said it, she began crying.

So, yeah. This is a WIP. It's a little too romance novel, I think, but I have not written sex or kissing in a while and I'm up to the gills in gothic romance books anyway.

Excerpt under the cut.

"Mikasa," he said, and her name rolling of his tongue sent a jolt through her. She missed so much and yet she knew already she could not stay. She would never stay, and she did not know how to respond if he asked her. "Look at me. Please."

She looked up at that. Levi was not a man who said please. It had to do with the upbringing of the gentry, with everything handed to them on a silver platter by virtue of nothing more than the accident of birth. It was why she understood his bitter reaction to her disappearance and sudden return many years later.

But all the anger and bitterness she remembered when he'd yelled at her to leave and never return had already melted, as if it had no space in his face, in his eyes, when it came to her. His eyes were dark once more, silver ringing black, half-lidded as he leaned in close, capturing her chin between gloved fingers. He tilted her face close to his so there were but scant inches between their faces.

"You were right. I have been an incorrigible cad to you for not hearing you out," he said. "Now that I know what you had gone through, the serendipity of you being here now, with me, is something I cannot waste. I'll not ask you to stay; I could never, though every part of me wishes you would. But I cannot let you go, not now, perhaps not ever, if I do not kiss you. Will you let me?"

Her mouth parted for a breathless moment as she registered the dark gleam in his gaze, the anticipation of her reply. "Yes," she breathed.

When they first kissed as teenagers, they had both fumbled. Noses bumping, awkward lips dry at first, and as their kisses deepened, flooded with too much saliva. It had been the awkwardness of young love coupled with the enthusiasm as such only teenagers in exploration of their sexuality could only manage.

There was none of that now. Both of them have matured and grown in experience with different partners. What didn't change was that burst of magic, that spark of rightness in her veins as Levi brushed his mouth to hers. Once, twice, then he parted his lips and trailed little nipping kisses on her bottom lip to coax her to open for him and engage in something deeper, something headier.

His kisses then, as with now, grew all-consuming, transporting her out of the dusk in the wild moors of the estate and into a universe in which only the two of them existed. Where time and distance no longer mattered for as long as their lips were locked, their tongues entwined, their hands questing to brace against each other. Mikasa twined her arms around his neck while Levi snaked an arm around her waist, muscles flexing to tug her closer, closer, until she sat in his lap, her legs bracketing his hips, her dress askew, the hem climbing up bare thighs.

His mouth relinquished hers and she hazily thought that yes, they should perhaps stop for breath before her lungs burst out of her chest. But he only did so to move his kisses down her chin, her jaw, nipping at her neck, and sucking a trailing path of fire to her collar as his hands moved over her body, once smoothing up her thigh, under the fabric of her skirt, the other gliding up the bodice of her dress to tentatively, then boldly, cup under her breast.

She whimpered when he bit her very delicately over the pulse point under her ear, then soothed it with kittenish laves of his tongue. The hand under her breast crept up to tug her cardigan off one shoulder so he could kiss the skin he bared there. She helped, unwinding her arms from around his neck to peel the cardigan off entirely.

"You are," he whispered, "as exquisite as I remember."

And then he tilted her head back, one hand supporting her neck, so he could kiss down her collarbone to the top of her breasts tantalizingly exposed by the sweetheart neckline of her dress. Her whole body was aflame despite the chill of the night air, and it was not only from the heat of his kisses that grew more bold as she pushed herself up to meet him every time, his face buried in the suggestive cleft her breasts made pushed together by the tight bodice of her dress. Her clothed core pressed against where she could feel him similarly affected and aroused by their kisses. It was almost as if he intended to couple with her clothed, like they could make love out here, in the open, with nothing but the spangled sky above them, the lonely moors around them.

"Mikasa," he murmured, moving up to kiss her neck, under her ear. "Mikasa."

Her eyes fluttered open - she had not even realized she had closed them - and she looked up at the pale brilliance of the cold stars, the quiet glow of the waxing gibbous moon. A cool breeze wafted from the glimmering waters of the lake, making the trees and the brambles around them whisper her name in echo of his passionate whispers.

They robbed us of the highly anticipated Rivamika moments 🧅🧅🧅😢.

😂 Not to mention, they tacked on an extra chapters at the end that was not originally part of the planned final ending of manga🥱 No wonder the AOT hype has died down. Tumblr used to be so active with AOT content, but that's not the case anymore. They also denied fans the long-awaited EM kiss scene, though lol (happy for this though 😂) I thought interest would remain high for the final part overall, yet it seems to be the opposite—people have moved on to JJK.

Anyway, I'm glad it's finally ended. I'm hoping for some 🤞 Rivamika crumbs in the Bad Boy manga, hopefully it explores more than just Levi's childhood. We could really use a post-war manga and anime in Bad Boy manga.

P. S: I'm glad it's Sunday tomorrow—I'm just gonna read some Kakashi x Sakura fanfics and short Rivamika stories to get my fix!
