Why are there people who look at a story about characters who explicitly say "i don't want sex" and decide that some other pleasure the character enjoys is clearly "like sex" for them? Why must there be anything that's "like sex"? People can have pleasures that are not sexual in nature and still not want sex. Sex is not a universal constant or an absolute necessity. You don't need to have sex or something you can equal to sex in every story. And let's not even start on the whole "they clearly must be having sex even if they say they don't because who wouldn't want to have sex?" comments... Just something for you allos to think about.

ok so i'm going to say something pretty problematic reguarding a/b/o or omegaverse for a second. please don't send me threats after reading this please.

i won't lie and say that i've never read omegaverse or any part of media that uses a/b/o dynamics in my life because let's be honest, I HAVE. and i've read a fair share of them as well.

i never put too much thought into it but for some months now, i have been avoiding reading any type of fics and such which contain a/b/o. the main reason is because i just feel like omegaverse is rooted in such heteronormative depiction of the world.

like yes, it allows queer people to explore and experiment with ideas that allow us to gender bend and also allow queer mlm/wlw otp(s) to have children who are gentically inherited by them and whereas that is an amazing and freeing way to use omegaverse,

i think people (mainly strictly heterosexual women) just use it as an excuse to push down the idea of heteronormative sex down our throat. because truthfully, so many of these omegaverse bl are written FOR and BY people that love toxic or non-con tropes but they just hate women so they try to complete their own fantasies by using a genre where they can satisy their kinks without getting any women involved in it. aka good old fetishization of mlm right? nothing new there

not to mention, a/b/o genre is HUGELY transphobic and also promotes the act of being FORCED to love your "mate" forever or you will suffer dire consequences such as touch deprivation and pain but unsurprisingly, these conditions only occur to omegas and alphas can do whatever the fuck they want no matter what. A character looks straight into the camera and says "I'm not interested in romance" and people will still say "No, it's not confirmed they're aromantic!!!" "They could change their mind!!!" "it's a challenge for them to overcome!!!" "They'll have character development that makes them fall in love"

It's like they are given the most blatant answer to a character romantic orientation and they actively ignore it. all the while all it takes is subtext for people to speak as if it is fact for a character to be any other sexuality.

I've recently come across a couple of season 4 fanfics that dealt with the Chat Noir feeling left out and quitting thing and every time I read one I can't help but think "man did they chose the wrong side of the masks AND the wrong characters for this conflict. Chat Noir comes across terribly here". It's weird to see people try and justify his behavior and act like Ladybug was in the wrong.

Was Ladybug being the best friend ever? No, but friendship is secondary when they're wearing the masks. Paris comes first. Chat Noir quitting because he doesn't feel special enough is literally him endangering everyone he loves because his crush isn't paying enough attention to him and I truly can't tell if the show wanted us to feel like he was in the right or the wrong here. In Kuro Neko, Catwalker actually does acknowledge the lesson he needed to learn

There's nothing wrong with you. Maybe the boy who was Cat Noir was more sensitive than it seemed. But his feelings for you shouldn't force you to pay more attention to him than to others. You take care of everybody equally, Ladybug. 

And Chat Noir apologizes at the end of the episode for causing Ladybug trouble, but the whole thing is incredibly lackluster. They don't actually have a meaningful conversation about why he was feeling that way and the rest of the season seems to present Ladybug as being in the wrong, especially the final! Trusting Alya leads to nothing meaningful and not trusting Chat Noir loses her the miraculous. Basically, I still have no idea what season 4 was trying to do with this conflict and it's been dropped forever now that Adrien is fully reduced to nothing more than arm candy.

HOWEVER, this basic setup could have been a fantastic b plot if the "Adrien doesn't feel needed" conflict wasn't a Ladynoir conflict, but was instead a conflict between Adrien and Nino. Move Rocketear up to earlier in the season and have the fallout from that be that Adrien's relationship with Nino is strained. He can still feel leftout because Ladybug has a bigger team now, but instead of him pouting about it and skipping fights, focus on how that need for connection has transferred to his civilian life, but he doesn't have Kagami or Nino now and he's lost. Then you can either have an Adrien and Nino b plot because that relationship needs more screen time OR you use this to make Adrien and Marinette start to grow closer because Rocketear's fallout is also Alya paying more attention to Nino. Then, when season 5 does the whole crush switch, it actually feels earned.

I'm not gonna lie that these photos give me a bittersweet feeling, though. As if it wasn't enough for actors to still be vulnerable to the use of AI by studios even after the strike ended, in January SAG-AFTRA signed a deal with an AI studio to use voice replicas in games, instead of opposing completely to it.

It makes me happy to know he was involved in the strike but at the same time... being stabbed in the back by those who were supposed to protect you is disheartening. Kudos to Remedy for being ethical and respecting the artists they work with, at least.

Hello. As a long time user of tumblr and an artist, I would like to say that I'm very disappointed at the news of tumblr integrating data sharing for AI learning. I have a lot of my artwork on tumblr and always found it a pleasant platform to share my work, but the AI integration makes me want to discontinue posting my work to tumblr, as well as consider deleting over a decade's worth of my own posts. I did that on deviantART when they also implemented AI the other year, losing basically 2 decades of my internet history. It hurts my soul, but I cannot approve of this potential use of my data and my friends' data on this website. It's also exceptionally frustrating that this is something that users are automatically opted into, meaning that anyone who has lost access to their account or has passed on has NO ability to keep control over their content. This is ALSO exactly what deviantART initially did. I was so very hopeful that tumblr wouldn't take this route after other social media services have been falling into partnering with "research partners" for the unethical use of sharing their users' data for AI learning. This is not the type of AI that is beneficial to tumblr users. I hope that tumblr will reconsider this decision, especially the decision that ALL blogs are automatically opted in.
