I'm entirely blaming @goldheartedsky for making me put this into words (and breaking my heart this early morning, I still haven't had breakfast excuse me).

Listen. After Andy loses Quynh & Lykon (and I talked in another post how based on comic dates she looses them within like 200 years of each other) she's the odd one out with only Nicky and Joe around. And they always have each other. Andy is literally third wheeling more or less until Booker shows up.

And then they have each other. The same depressed rundown air, the I don't want to be immortal (anymore). They balance each other in a very sad way. Whether they're platonic or romantic soulmates. It doesn't matter, they're always there for each other.

Suddenly Andy has someone to steady her, she's no longer third wheeling anything. If Joe and Nicky are off together Andy isn't alone anymore (her greatest fear) but she has Booker.

And they have each other for 200 years and then AND THEN right when Andy loses her immortality. When she suddenly has to face death for real, when everything is changing, she has to send Booker away.

When she needs her friend the most and when he needs her the most. When her time is limited when they really should cherish every last moment of their friendship and relationship, she has to send him away and it makes me so fucking unwell.

And for Booker Andy is like everything. She's his rock in the storm. She's his fortress. She's there. Andy is a force of nature and within the entire mess of Booker having to be alone, he suddenly has to be without Andy. His Andy. And he might never get to see her again. He can't properly say goodbye.
