Can I request a Sebastian sallow x reader fic that would be about the reader and Sebastian being childhood friends that have feelings for each other the reader and Sebastian both yearn for affection from each other but they are scared that the other doesn’t like them so they both started avoiding each other in hopes the feelings goes away but every situation and class finds them reuniting again the reader secretly holds Sebastian hands during charms class and Sebastian is just shocked (uhhh you can decide what happens after!! My dumbass really hasn’t thought much about it but I can’t wait to see what you do)
You called? I'm here with a gift!
Here With Me (S.S)
I accidently got carried away with this and turned it into a hurt/comfort, i hope you're ok with that! I didn't really put any spoilers. Also I know you didn't specify like what house the reader was in, so I put them in Slytherin! This is also gender neutral, just so we all know. More to come soon, maybe even withing the next few hours, supply and demand, am I right? Anyway, enjoy! (Part 2, Cardigan)
Tumblr media
You had been friends with the Sallow twins for as long as you could remember. You were especially close with Sebastian, whom you spent most of your time together with. You remember walking over to Mr. Sallow’s house one day with a small basket of treats made by your mother, who had asked you to walk them over as a gift. Anxiously, you walked along the dirt path, watching as leaves floated past you in the breeze. It was a nice fall day, the apple tarts were still warm, but you had to get to their house quickly to keep them that way, so you were unable to enjoy the day for too long. As you neared the house, you saw a young girl with brown hair playing in the front, a boy about the same age and with brown hair as well sat under a tree with a book in hand. Squinting, you could make out the drawing of a wand on the cover, and you understood why your mother sent you out to Mr. Sallow’s house. The town was mainly a wizard only area, but every now and then a muggle would move in. Some of the neighbors would play pranks on them to try to drive them out, and your mother did the same thing once before to an elderly couple that came to retire. Scared them near to death.
Mr. Sallow usually lived alone, minding himself as he always did, but he never had kids. You slowed your pace, wondering if you had started to walk toward the wrong house, until the girl looked up at you, shouting toward the house as she ran inside. The boy looked up from his book and looked at you curiously. You froze, caught in the act of walking to the wrong house. Wide-eyed, you slowly walked towards the boy. “Um, hello.” You said, quietly. The boy stood a bit taller than you, and had chocolate brown eyes, ones that matched his hair. He smiled, “Hello there, I’m Sebastian. Who are you?” You fiddled with the basket, “My name is-.” The door to the house opened, Mr. Sallow walking out with the girl behind him. “Ah! Hello there, y/n! It’s nice to see you!” He greeted, walking over, and patting your head. Your face brightened, glad that you hadn’t stumbled upon the wrong house. “Good afternoon, Mr. Sallow! My mother made some apple tarts and asked me to bring some over for you.” You handed the basket to him and he grabbed one, taking a bite. “Your mother is a saint. Why don’t you come inside? You haven’t met my niece and nephew yet, no?” You shook your head.
The inside of the house was cozy as always, maybe a little cramped by boxes, no doubt from the two new kids. He introduced you to Sebastian properly, and to his twin sister Anne. They were the same age as you were, as well as magically gifted. He didn’t go into details, but he told you that the twins would be living with him from now on, and that the three of you should get along well. Anne had reached to grab a tart, eyeing it curiously. Mr. Sallow motioned that she could have one, and she took a bite. Her eyes seemed to glow as she hurriedly bit into it again. Sebastian watched his sister as she ate the tart, bits of apple sticking to her lips. It seemed to convince him they were good, as he grabbed one as well and took a bite. “Merlin’s beard! These really are good.” You shuffled your feet as you watched the two devour half the basket in minutes.
“Do tell your mother we appreciate the gift.” Mr. Sallow said, placing the rest of the treat on a plate and handing the basket back to you. You nodded and started out the door, the twins quickly meeting your side. “So, show us where your house is!” Sebastian said happily. Anne walked on your other side as you nodded, walking back in the direction of your home. They asked many questions for such a short walk. “Have you lived here long?” “What’s it like here?” “Do you have any more of those treats?” You smiled and answered their questions, reaching your house and turning around. “This is where I live.” You said, gesturing to your door. Sebastian nodded, “Got it. We’ll be seeing you soon then!” He said, grabbing Anne’s hand as they walked back to their house.
The next couple of days the twins would be at your door, asking if you wanted to go play with them. You agreed, of course, and found that they were lots of fun to be around.  One night, they had invited you over for a sleepover, and while Anne had fallen asleep ten minutes into the activities you had planned, Sebastian was still wide awake. He grabbed a book from one of the shelves and sat next to you in the blanket fort the three of you had made. You had to carefully set a candle in the middle of the fort, so you were able to see the words. Sebastian would read to you until you fell asleep, then he would extinguish the candle and grab the blanket, snuggling up to you and falling asleep as well.
When winter came, the three of you were always outside. Sebastian had wanted to make an igloo one day, and it took you two whole days to even get halfway done. When it was finally done, you didn’t know what else to do. Any blanket you put in there would get very cold, and maybe even freeze, so you decided to deem it as a landmark, and began building other snow structures around the yard, making a small snow town. Anne had made a snow man and said it was going to be the minister of the town, in which Sebastian had to remind her that the Minister didn’t have time to watch over a small town, and that a mayor would be a better fit.
Another time, you had been playing with Anne’s hair, braiding it, and putting it up in all sorts of different styles. You even began to teach Sebastian how to do hair so he could give Anne any hairstyle she wanted, but since you were already practicing on Anne, he could use your hair. That was a mistake, as minutes later Sebastian had tried to braid a section of your hair, only to fail. He swore that he could fix it, and tried to untangle the strands and try again. It resulted in a huge knot that couldn’t be saved, and your mother ended up having to cut your hair. The next day you showed up, Sebastian apologized while Anne could only giggle at the whole ordeal.
When you turned 11, an owl showed up with a letter attached to its leg. You had been invited to Hogwarts, and you ran over to the Sallow’s place in excitement. The twins also got their letters, and your mother offered to take the three of you out to get the supplies required, along with your very own wand. When you made it to Hogwarts, you fiddled with your fingers, anxious about the sorting ceremony. Sebastian tried to sheer you up, stating , ”We’ll all be in the same house, there’s no way we aren’t.” You nodded as you held onto his arm, watching as Anne was called up and the hat was placed on her head. Wide-eyed, you watched as she was sorted into Slytherin, and she smiled at the two of you as she walked over to her new house. Sebastian was next, and he flashed you a smile as he walked up, hat placed on his head as well. The Sorting Hat mumbled to itself before placing him into Slytherin as well, and you clapped as he walked over to his sister. The names were being called out and you stood there, anxiety growing. When you were finally called up, you walked up, shaking. The hat sat upon your head, asking you questions and seemingly just having a conversation with you. Eventually, the hat came to a decision, and you smiled and trotted over to Sebastian and Anne when the hat yelled Slytherin.
Over breaks, the three of you were able to practice together on your magic, and found ways to do things that you had done when you were younger much easier. Reading when you were supposed to be sleeping had become less of a fire hazard and more of a hand cramp activity, finally able to cast Lumos to use as a light to read with. You had also sent owls to your new friend, Ominis, offering to let him stay for a day or so to hang out. Snowball fights had become more like a warzone as you began to learn charms and hexes, able to make the snowballs throw themselves now.
You were sleeping one night during your break back after you finished your third year, excited to wake up in the morning and hang out with your friends. You had gotten up to get a drink sometime in the early morning, the moon was still up and the birds hadn’t begun to sing yet. There was a strange noise outside as you poured a glass of water, but you didn’t seem to notice. More sounds began to emerge, and you made your way upstairs to your mother’s room to ask her about it. Half asleep, your mother brushed it off as some dogs getting into a fight and told you to head back to bed, so you did. When you woke up, you quickly got dressed and grabbed a basket for the fresh apple pie your mother had just finished baking. She looked tired, maybe worried, you noted, but headed out.
As you neared the house, you noticed a lot more people around than normal. There was even a police officer heading towards Mr. Sallow’s house. You picked up your pace as you weaved around your neighbors and made it to the front door. It was a mess, splinters all over the porch and ground, and the windows were broken. You looked around, not seeing Sebastian or Anne, and tried to get into the house. Mr. Sallow sat in a chair at the kitchen table, muttering to the officer and wringing his hands. You looked into the living room, finding Sebastian and Anne sitting on a couch, a medic kneeling down and looking over Anne. You placed the basket on a corner table and slowly walked over, examining the room. The place was a mess, some chairs were overturned, portraits were thrown off the wall. Sebastian sat there, a blank stare as he watched the medic look over Anne. “What happened here?” You asked, standing in front of Sebastian. He looked up at you and jumped off the couch, enveloping you in a hug. He explained that the house had been raided, and that they had done something to Anne. The medic had been checking Anne over for any signs of injury, yet there were none, which didn’t explain the agony she was in. The medic said that he didn’t know what was wrong, and said there was nothing he could really do about it, and he left. Sebastian stood over Anne, cursing the medic under his breath.
Anne was in too much pain to return to Hogwarts, and you and Sebastian sat with Ominis on the train in silence. The whole year, the three of you tried to find a way to help Anne, but to no avail. Sebastian began to keep to himself around you, and you began to feel inside that something was different.
You walked down the hall to your Herbology class, alone. Sebastian had withdrew himself even more, and would sometimes not even look at you. You felt like you did something wrong, but Ominis had assured you it was not your fault. You didn’t believe him, of course, as you watched Sebastian be himself around everyone but you. Your heart hurt to see it, it felt like you were losing your best friend, yet you were partially glad for it. You had no idea when it began, but you had started to harbor feelings for Sebastian, and you had fought those feelings, telling yourself that you were wrong to have such feelings while still unable to find a cure for Anne. You knew Sebastian wanted nothing more than for Anne to be cured, and you knew he would put everything aside until he reached that goal. Sighing to yourself, you walked through the grass to Professor Garlick’s class, adjusting the strap of your bag and moving your hair away from your face. The breeze was soft and warm, fall hadn’t arrived yet and the summer was still in full. The air wasn’t too hot, but you knew that, when you walked into the greenhouse, you would miss the summer breeze, being replaced with humid air and the smell of plants to fill your senses. You walked in and greeted the professor, taking your usual seat.
Sabastian walked with Ominis, talking about his excitement for charms. He heard that they were going to go over some healing spells, and that it would be a big step in helping Anne. Ominis nodded as he walked beside him, mindful of his surroundings. Sebastian had been searching for a whole year for ways to help his sister, alongside you and Ominis. Sebastian knew that you wanted to help Anne just as much as he did, and his mood dropped a bit. Ominis had mentioned to him about your concerns for him, and Sebastian had felt guilty for avoiding you. While you were his best friend, one he had known for years, he couldn’t help the feelings that had begun to grow, and knew that now wasn’t the time to go after them. He was worried you would reject him, telling him that being best friends was enough, or even asking that they no longer be friends. He was also worried that you might scold him for trying to pursue a relationship when he should have been looking for a way to help his sister. Either way, he didn’t see a happy ending if he confessed, and the only way to keep his feelings at bay, he thought, was to avoid you in hopes that they would go away. He was brought out of his thoughts as he neared the greenhouse, and his heart began to beat at a faster pace. All his attempts to lose those feelings he had for you would be broken down each time he walked into class, as he had to take his seat next to you each day. There was a moment where he would be more than glad to have all his classes with you, but when he was trying to get over you? It was torture. He sighed as he walked in and took his seat next to you.
When the time came for Charms, Sebastian had forgotten the whole “Avoid your best friend” mindset and walked happily with you and Ominis, talking about what he was expecting from the class. You smiled as he talked, heart doing backflips every time he looked over to you with that smile. You became excited as well, hopeful that you would find something to help. As you took your seats, you and Sebastian grabbed your books out quickly, turning to the chapter you would be going over. So far, the spells you were reading about were only ones that could heal wounds like broken bones, split lips, etc. Nothing that Anne was experiencing. You had begun to lose hope, until the professor turned the page. “Reprifors is a spell often used to heal other ailments, like those that had been caused by magic itself.” Your eyes widened as you read the page, looking over to Sebastian, who had seemed to freeze. Without even thinking, you grabbed his hand under the desk, your eyes bright as you gave him a wide smile. Sebastian stared at you, still frozen. His mind was going faster than a Hippogriff in flight. This could be what he was looking for, a way to save his sister. If the spell worked, not only would he have his sister back, but maybe even his best friend. He would be able to finally share his feelings with you and you could accept them. He didn’t even realize that you were holding his hand until you gave it a squeeze, and he finally looked down. He felt his cheeks flush, and when you followed his gaze, your face heated up as well. You quickly let go, clearing your throat and returning to your book.
The two of you began to get close again after that, meeting up and practicing the spell, trying to perfect it. “This is it. This spell is clearly what we’re looking for!” You said happily, trying the spell once again. You didn’t really have a way to know if the spell was working at first, so you and Sebastian took turns taking a jinx or hex to the face, and then trying the spell. You had both done it right three times in a row, and had deemed that you were ready. All you had to do now was wait for a chance to make it home.
As you trudged through the snow toward the village, you conversed excitedly with Sebastian. “We’re finally going to do it! Isn’t it exciting?” You asked, taking Sebastian’s hand, walking faster. Sebastian could only nod in response as he felt his cheeks flush once again from you grabbing his hand. You had been extra affectionate to him since the two of you learned the spell. Sebastian even began to think you started to share the feelings he had for you, but part of him kept telling him it was because you were happy to help Anne. On the other hand, you had begun to let go of hiding your feelings, believing that once Anne was okay you would be able to tell Sebastian your feelings, and you slowly began to warm up to the idea.
The cold breeze made your nose cold, and brought back memories of when you were kids, a smile growing on your face. “Come on!” You shouted, beginning to run. The snow crunched under your feet as you dragged Sebastian behind you. Desperate to catch up, Sebastian moved faster, slipping on a patch of ice you somehow managed to dodge. He fell, and you took the moment to turn and laugh. Suddenly, a wave of cold contacts your face, and you wipe away the snow. Sebastian laughed this time, readying another snowball.  You run behind a tree and start to make your own snowballs, launching them in Sebastian’s direction, not caring if they hit or not. A snowball hits you in face, even from behind the tree, no doubt from Sebastian. “That’s cheating!” You shouted as you watched him enchant the snowballs he made. He only shrugged and laughed as they flew towards you, with no sign of stopping. Shrieking, you drop to your knees, covering your face. The snowballs pelted you, and you counted about ten of them. Looking up, you could see Sebastian start making more snowballs, and you took the chance to jump him. You ran after him, jumping a little as you grabbed him, pinning him to the ground. You took his wand and stuffed it into your pocket, smiling in triumph.
Sebastian looked up at you, cheeks red from the cold and closeness. He studies your features, memorizing how your face had droplets of melting snow, and how you breathed heavily after the small battle you just had. He felt as if he was back home, playing in the snow with you a year after meeting you. You had done the same thing, pinning him to the ground, not letting him go until he surrendered, which he always refused to do. If he took too long, you would even grab snow and threaten to smother him, but you weren’t doing that this time. Instead, you sat there, trying to catch your breath. Sebastian watched as you shivered, your nose had gotten extremely red, and took the opportunity to try the move he did when you were kids. Quickly, he grabbed your waist and pulled you down on top of him, wrapping his arms around you and locking you in. Usually, this would end in his rolling over, pinning you to the ground, but instead, he kept you there, sharing the warmth his body was kicking out. He sighs and nuzzles into your shoulder, muttering, “Thank You.” You smiled and raised an eyebrow; one he couldn’t see. “For what?” “For everything.”
You followed behind Sebastian as he stormed out of the house, cursing to himself. You had made it to Anne and told her that you had a spell that would help her. Yet, after trying the spell over five times, she didn’t feel different. Anne was still in pain. Sebastian was distraught, watching his hopes come crashing down into the ground. You ran after him, now, trying to find a reason as to why it didn’t work. He makes it to the tree, where he sat when you first walked to his house, basket in hand. He drops into the snow, throwing his wand in anger. You slowed your pace and watched intently to see what he would do next. His shoulders shook once, and he sniffled. You made your way to stand in front of him, looking down to see his face wet with tears, brows furrowed in anger and annoyance. He looked up at you, his brown eyes seemingly darker than what you’re used to. “Nothing is working how I want it.” He heaved, “Anne is still sick. She’s still in pain.” You knelt down, placing your hand on his shoulder. He continued, “The spell didn’t work, my plan didn’t work.” Your gaze softened, watching as more tears slid down his cheeks. “My plans never work.”
You pull him into a hug, wrapping your arms around him and rubbing his back. He buried his face into your shoulder, muttering. “And I tried to stay away from you, and here you are. You’re being the caring person that’s been by my side.” You listened, your own tears beginning to pool in your eyes. “I thought, if I stayed away from you, my feelings would go away. At least until we helped Anne.” Your grip tightened around him, your tears finally falling as you realized that you had been doing the same thing. You had been protecting each other from your own feelings. More tears spilled from your eyes as you tried to convey your own feelings back, unsure if you would be able to talk. “And my feelings didn’t go away. And you’re still here, even after all this.” You nodded, moving your head from his shoulder and pressing it against his own. “Thank you.” You hummed in response. “Thank you for being here with me.”

mixup
Tumblr media
You carefully set down the kettle onto the burner, ready to have a cup of tea to soothe your headache. Soft music played in the background as you walked up the stairs to feed the cats you were watching. You were at your neighbor Anne's house catsitting this week and hanging around them really helped to calm your nerves. It was quiet and peaceful there, perfect for reading or catching up on work. You placed their food bowls down and sat beside them to watch them eat. You let your mind drift while you waited on them but were startled by keys jingling as if someone was unlocking the front door. You quickly got to your feet just to trip on one of the bird toys on the ground. Chirping noises filled the room as you ran up to the door looking down and lifting your foot, "Sorry Anne isn't home right-" You stopped your sentence as you looked up at the man in front of you who had an expressionless face, he explained "I'm sorry, I normally pick up her mail when shes gone and since she texted me about her trip I just assumed..." Gesturing from the mailbox to the house. It was hard to focus on what he was saying with the pain from your stubbed toe, also counting that you hadn't expected anyone to show up during your time catsitting, but all you could really think about was how cute he looked with his hair up in two spiky buns. "Oh there's no reason to be sorry," you said laughing a bit at yourself as the kettle went off whistling in the kitchen, "There any chance you have time for some tea?" There was no way you were just going to shoo him away, and inviting him in seemed nicely convenient. He bashfully broke eye contact for a moment as he agreed to come in with the mail. He set it on the counter as you poured him a cup of chamomile tea. You two chatted about how you both knew Anne before you asked him if he had watched the cats before. "Well, I have a couple times but I never feel like I'm giving them enough attention. I'm always more busy than I'd like to be." You hummed at his response and shared how much of a getaway it felt like being at her house. "It's always so warm feeling in here, must be the lighting or something," you sipped on your tea, "It's even better having such a pretty face in here though." He nearly spit out his tea at your compliment, his face dusted with an even layer of pink. He averted his gaze and mumbled, "I'm glad to be here." You carried the conversation on as usual but you could tell his mind was elsewhere while you spoke. "Well, Choso, I'd say I'm pretty happy with our little mixup." You stood up to put the cups by the sink, smiling at him. "If you're not too busy tomorrow, you could come pick up the mail for me again?" He nodded eagerly at that.

"i told you i'd come back, right?" — matthew joy
✧ in the heart of the sea; matthew joy x wife!reader
✧ notes: this. that's literally it🫶 also below the cut id the actual reunion between you two, the first part is kinda weird but it's only bc i wanted to put some context TT u can skip to below the cut if u want ! also not proofread since i wrote this while writing a college essay TT
Tumblr media
"It's okay, Peggy." You say as you walked with your friend and her daughter through the crowd of people. "I'm sure it's going to be alright."
"I hope so." She replies, nervously.
You and her have been friends for a long time. Both of yours husbands are childhood friends, so of course this also meant you two being acquainted and forming a friendship. A few months ago, both of then were handpicked to be first and second mate for the voyage of the Essex. A little while back, you both received the news that the ship had been either lost at sea or sank of whatnot, all you both (and what they) knew was that the ship and the crew were nowhere to be found.
Obviously, you two were devastated, but Peggy was pregnant and you needed to find things to calm you down and distract you during this whole thing, so you were helping around at her house and all, spending time with Phoebe Ann, her daughter.
This morning, however, you both were contacted by the Maritime office that survivors of the Essex had made it back to Nantucket in nothing more than a few boats and your husbands were both survivors, so here you both were, at Nantucket Harbour, waiting.
Tumblr media
As Phoebe Ann was holding the hands of both his mother and you, you kept hold of hers when you saw Owen approaching his family. Peggy let go of her daughter temporarily as she flung her arms around her husband as they reunited.
"Y/N." Owen greeted and you let go of Phoebe Ann to hug him. "Glad to see you still up and running." You joke, but you were really glad to see him.
"Matthew, is he...?" You didn't know how to finish your question but Owen just smiled at you. "He was right behind me earlier."
When his attention shifted to his daughter and Peggy, you walked away from them and your eyes searched the crowd. There were dozens of people at the harbour, all crowding around to see the survivors of the lost ship Essex, so it was a little difficult to push past them for a bit.
But when blue eyes met yours, you felt everyone blur around you as all noise faded into nothing.
There he stood.
He had nothing in his hands, as the small possessions he brought onboard were lost in the sea, but he would have dropped anything he was holding when he saw you.
He made his way to you and at first, it was silent. You didn't know what first to say and he seemed to be at a loss for words as well. Your eyes scanned his face for a moment and you swallowed before speaking up.
"It's really you?" You ask, your hands cupping his cheek as your fingers ghost over his face, not quite believing your eyes.
He was here.
"It's really me." He smiles as he places his hand over yours and moves his face to kiss your other one.
Matthew was here.
Standing in front of you. His hair was definitely longer (although not quite as long, since you noticed him and Owen were pretty cleaned up best they could before they were here) and he looked a little disheveled, but none of it matterer. His eyes scanned over your face, like he was seeing you again for the very first time. He took in everything about you — your eyes, the way your hair was styled, the dress you wore that was one of your more simpler dresses but he always thought you looked stunning in, and the necklace he gave you that you never once took off when he left.
"I told you I'd come back, right?" He asked softly, to which you chuckled lightly, tears streaming down your face.
"You did." You replied, "And you're not going out there for a little bit for a while, okay?" You joked.
He laughed lightly and then slowly engulfed you in another hug, his one arm wrapping itself around your back as he brought his other to hug your head, patting you softly. He kissed your forehead, "I'm not going anywhere for a little bit."
You hugged him back and you felt you never wanted to let him go. You opened your eyes and they met with Owen's, who wasn't that far away from you two with his own family, and you saw him smiling at you.
"Thank you." You mouthed to him as he stood up and held his daughter's hand for the first time as he nodded his head at you.

Lost Love Pt. 2 (Ominis Gaunt x f!reader)
Tags: some angst, hurt/comfort
By popular demand, I'm back to deliver maximum emotional damage!
So yes, this is a fic to wrap up my previous Sebastian x jealous f!reader angst post (which I didn't expect to return to tbf!). Like I mentioned previously, making my foray into writing sebby content has been fun, but I'm going to try to focus on other characters for a bit now. (Will still do HCs and drabbles for him, though)
Thanks for all the love and positive feedback 🖤
Tumblr media
The funeral of Solomon Sallow was attended by just three – Anne, Ominis, and you. Anne had first insisted on doing it all by herself, though you were glad Ominis had been able to convince her otherwise, seeing as she was in no fit state to bear this alone.
You held her as she paid her last respects. She placed a black rose on the freshly dug soil before turning her tear-streaked face to Ominis. “Ominis, would you…”
“Of course,” Ominis said, inclining his head. He stepped forward and drew a deep breath, taking a moment to find the right words before he proceeded. “Solomon Sallow was… flawed, like any one of us. He was a man of great passion and conviction, and his ways could often be brash and fiery. But let us not mistake his gruffness for malice, for his love for his kin knew no bounds. His every action was driven by a deep and abiding desire to protect and care for those he held dear. Let us find comfort in the knowledge that he died as he lived, standing between his family and adversity.”
He stepped back and the three of you stood in silence, the only sound coming from the wind blowing over the small hill. As Anne leaned her head on your shoulder to cry, you felt the familiar onset of doubt consume you. Part of you wished Sebastian was there with you, though you couldn’t say why – was it because you felt he had a right to, or because you wanted him to suffer, to feel the consequences of his deeds? You couldn’t say for certain. These past few days, you’d been experiencing so many emotions that it was often like you weren’t feeling anything at all. You’d give everything for a good cry right now.
After a few minutes, Anne said she was ready to leave and you led her back to the house, Ominis wandering beside you. Once you were inside, the frail girl sank into a chair, clutching her side as she winced. “Thank… thank you both, for everything. I’ll be forever in your debt.”
“Nonsense,” Ominis said. “It’s the least I could have done to repay you for your kindness over the years. I’m sure Y/N feels the same way.”
You nodded. “It’s no trouble at all, Anne. And I just want to say, if you change your mind about leaving –”
The Sallow girl shook her head resolutely. “I know you worry, but I need to do this. There’s nothing left for me here, and… I don’t know if I’ll ever find it in my heart to forgive my brother for what he’s done. I just need to get away and think for a very long time.”
“Know that you can always write us if you’re ever in need of counsel, or anything at all really,” Ominis said. “Please take good care of yourself, Anne.”
Anne nodded softly, and the two of you said your goodbyes. You were grateful for the breeze of fresh air once you stepped outside, though it did little to loosen the iron glove tightly closed around your heart.
“You did well back there,” you said to Ominis. “Those were beautiful words.”
“I hope it gave her some comfort, at the very least. Though if I were to be fully honest, nothing about this feels right.”
“I’ll say. You think she’ll be all right?”
“I do,” he answered, his voice lacking scepticism to your relief. “She’s stronger than she appears. Now, tell me, how are you feeling?”
You shuffled your feet, not even daring to meet his empty gaze. “I’m not certain it matters how I’m feeling at the moment.”
“It matters to me. Just because Anne chooses to bear this on her own does not mean that you have to as well. We only have each other to rely on now, it would be foolish to squander that –”
It happened within a matter of seconds. You hadn’t meant to kiss him; the thought hadn’t even crossed your mind. Yet before you could even process what was happening, you could feel Ominis’ lips touching yours, a maelstrom of thoughts and feelings scrambling your mind. Both of your breaths were heavy when you pulled apart.
You were the first to speak up: “I… I’m sorry, we shouldn’t have done that –”
“We shouldn’t have,” he agreed. “But I… I think I understand. You must feel confused about a lot of things right now.”
“I do, but that shouldn’t be an excuse. Let’s just… forget about this and head back to the castle, all right?”
He agreed. You didn’t bring up the subject again on your way back, though you noticed how your eyes kept drifting off to look at his profile. You wondered if he was thinking the same thing you were thinking; that somehow, it had felt right.
— — —
You had not seen Sebastian ever since Professor Weasley had excused him from his regular schedule to give him time to mourn his uncle, though this didn’t mean his presence wasn’t hanging over you, like a dark spectre. In fact, the longer the hollow feeling in your chest persisted, the more you became convinced it was stemming from your inability to confront him. You briefly considered asking Ominis to accompany you to see him, but eventually you gathered all of your courage and went to his dorm alone, your heart rapidly beating in your chest when you knocked on the door.
“What do you want?” a bitter voice sounded from inside. You felt something sting, like a needle – he sounded almost like a completely different person. You pushed the door open and stepped inside, finding yourself face to face with Sebastian Sallow – or what was left of him. His hair was unkempt, he had bags under his eyes and his once rosy cheeks had paled to the point where you could almost see through him. It occurred to you that you only now realised what a human shell looked like.
“Y/N!” He stood up from his bed so fast that he knocked over the pile of books sitting next to it. You were thankful for the interruption, if only so you didn’t have to look him in the eye. You picked up one of the books and handed it over to him. “I see you’ve taken up reading again.”
“I never stopped. Anne’s situation hasn’t changed. I can’t give up on her, not now she needs me the most.”
“After everything that happened?” you asked, trying not to sound too scornful. “You do realise that your unbridled pursuit of any means to cure your sister was what led to all this trouble in the first place, right?”
“Of course I do!” he snapped back, his face contorting with anger. “But you honestly can’t expect me to –”
You don’t know what it was that snapped him back to reality, but the gaze in his eyes suddenly softened, and he sank onto the bed as he scratched his head. “I’m sorry, I… I didn’t mean to shout at you.”
You sighed, shaking your head. “You need to give yourself time to grieve. All of this, the guilt you’re bearing – you might not want to admit it, but it’s consuming you.”
“No,” he said, beginning to ramble again. “No, I can’t. Anne is depending on me. I must –”
“Sebastian.” You were surprised at the power in your own voice, as was he. “Listen to me. Your sister is leaving.”
“Leaving?” He looked at you in confusion. “To where?”
“I don’t know. Somewhere far away from Feldcroft.”
“But… I don’t understand.” The sudden panic in his voice made you swallow, though you tried to keep a straight face. “How can – why hasn’t she told me anything?”
“Do you need me to spell it out for you?” you said icily. “She can’t bear the thought of her own brother being a murderer, Sebastian. That’s why. She doesn’t want to face you because she isn’t sure she will ever be able to forgive you for what happened.”
The rising tension in the air was palpable as you stood there, waiting for his response. You watched him, trying to read his face for any signs that reality was dawning on him, but what had once been second nature to you now seemed like an impossible task. Your heart sank as you saw his features hardening, darkness returning to his eyes.
“This was Ominis, wasn’t it?” he asked. “He put her up to this.”
You couldn’t believe what you were hearing. “After all this, your only response is to blame your friend?” you asked, not knowing whether to be mad or shocked.
“Some ‘friend’,” Sebastian seethed. “He’s been against me right from the beginning. Pretending to care, just to stab me in the back in the end.”
“He lied just so you wouldn’t have to go to Azkaban for what you did!” you yelled.
“And I suppose I ought to be grateful? Don’t be ridiculous. I don’t need his sympathies – and the same goes for you.”
At last, you felt something inside you giving away, perhaps the last piece of the wall between your lingering feelings and the rising tide of anger that had been consuming you for weeks. When you spoke, your voice was steady, but chillingly cold. “You should know that I dreaded facing you today. I was terrified of seeing my friend hurting like this – the boy who’d always been watching over me since I was little, who never once hesitated to stand up for me even if it got him into trouble. The boy who I knew I cared much more for than a friend, even though I never dared confess that to him, because our companionship was dearer to me than my personal feelings. But I think I’ll rest a whole lot easier now that I know that person is gone. Goodbye, Sebastian.”
You left without giving him an opportunity to respond. Tears were burning in the corners of your eyes, and by the time you had reached your own dorm they were flowing freely, spilling memories of a dead past.
— — —
It was practically a miracle that you managed to pass most of your O.W.L.s after everything that had transpired in the last couple of weeks, though you mostly credited it to Sebastian slowly disappearing from your mind. Ominis and you had helped each other through it, studying together until late in the evening and questioning each other at breakfast, and at last your letters arrived, informing you both that you had cleared all of your required classes. Now, you found yourself in the Slytherin common room, chuckling to yourself as you watched a mildly intoxicated Imelda standing on a table with a mug of Butterbeer in her hand, leading the crowd in chanting house songs. You quietly left for some fresh air, spotting a familiar face out on the viaduct.
“Good evening,” you smiled as you approached Ominis. “The choice of music tonight wasn’t to your liking?”
“That was supposed to be music?” he retorted.
You chuckled as you stood next to him, leaning against the short wall. It was a beautiful night out, the light of a bright moon dancing on the ripples of the quiet lake. You were content to just stand there without saying anything, but then he spoke up: “I heard you spoke to Sebastian. I chose not to bring it up because I didn’t want you to be distracted, but –”
“Please, can we just not –” You sighed before recollecting yourself. “I just… I want to stop thinking about him. He’s made his choices and I’ve made my peace with that.”
He turned his head slightly in your direction. “Have you?”
“I thought I could save him, that there was something I could say to get him to change, to see the error of his ways… but then I realised that I was just feeding into my own delusion. I care about him, and I still think that I would give him my forgiveness if he sincerely asked for it, but his burden isn’t mine to carry. He needs to find his way out of this on his own. And I need to think about my own future as well.”
He was silent for a moment, as if to weigh your words. You noticed you were slightly nervous to hear his judgement, but he simply nodded. “I feel the same way. The best course of action for us to take right now is to focus on our own healing, lest we’re doomed to repeat the mistakes that led us here.”
You looked at your feet. “I’ve been giving all of it a great deal of thought lately. Some things more than others.”
“Such as?”
“What a potential future could look like, for you, and me.” You felt a familiar warmth in your stomach. You’d never paid much attention to it, but you had to admit Ominis was quite handsome, his almost noble features illuminated by the pale moonlight. “I was hesitant to bring it up because I feared I was simply looking for consolation after Sebastian… but then I realised there is more to it than that. You’ve always cared for me, Ominis. I wouldn’t blame you for desiring to stay friends after everything that happened, but I want to be candid about my feelings… this time.”
You took a deep, shivering breath. “I think I’m in love with you.”
He didn’t reply at first, clearly taken slightly aback by your confession. Then he leaned forward and easily found your lips, as if his blindness wasn’t a hindrance at all. He gently cupped your cheek as you kissed, his other hand reaching down to hold yours, squeezing it to put you at ease, to offer you the comfort of his warmth.
Eventually, he pulled back, resting his forehead against yours.
“I don’t know where this will lead us,” he said. “But I would very much like to find out.”
“I’d like that too,” you smiled.
— — —
“Will you write to me?”
You had to slightly raise your voice to avoid being drowned out by the noise coming from the locomotive and the excited chatter of the students around you. Ominis smiled, reaching out his hand as an invitation for you to grab it. You took it, rubbing his palm with your thumb.
“Of course I will,” he assured you. “Every day, if need be.”
You stood on your toes to press a kiss on his cheek. “Thank you,” you replied, thankfulness sounding through in your voice, “for being patient with me. I’ll admit I was afraid, but –”
“You owe me no explanation,” he replied. “I simply wish the best for you. We can take as long as you need.”
You chuckled. “Where did you learn to be such a gentleman?”
“There are some secrets I cannot divulge, even to you, my dearest. Now, you should probably be on your way.”
“Yeah, probably…” You took his other hand, the thought of letting him go paining your heart. You looked into his pale eyes. “I’ll miss you, Ominis.”“We will be seeing each other again before you know it,” he said. And as you once again closed your eyes and felt his lips against yours, you felt safe, knowing that somehow, everything would be all right.
— — —
“We’re here,” the coachman announced. Sebastian muttered a quick thanks before stepping off, pulling up his hood to shield himself from the rain. After the coach departed, he turned around and began to walk toward the lone house in the distance.
He had meant to say goodbye to them. He’d been practising it in his head for days – what to say, how to best put his thoughts on everything that happened. How to convey his sincerity when he apologised for everything he’d put them through. He wouldn’t have expected them to forgive him right away, but he had at least hoped it could be their first step on their long way to healing.
He’d changed his mind and left as soon as he had seen them share a kiss.
It wasn’t that he was upset, or mad at them. If any, he would say he had been more or less expecting her to turn to Ominis after what he’d done to her. Still, he regretted that it had taken the sight of his best friends finding comfort in each other for him to finally get a sense of the damage he had inflicted. They were all gone now – his uncle, Anne, his friends. Driven away, all by his own fault.
Had it been worth it? Had it been worth chasing after false hope, burning everything he had held dear?
He opened the door. His feet crossed the threshold, leaving muddy puddles on the floor. His footsteps echoed through the silence, the sole sound in a space devoid of life.
He was alone.

hey girl im back again i think abt sideways like evry single day pls pls pls when r u releasing the next update 😞
Hello again! Thanks for checking in.
Unfortunately, I don't have much of an update. I'm still working on my original sci fi series. It's my top priority. I'm almost done with the first book and then I will be focused on posting it.
That said, "Sideways" is always on my mind and heart. It means a great deal to me, and I'm incredibly flattered that you think about it too.
I wish I had better news for where Part 5 stood in the pipeline, but to tide you over, here's an excerpt from it. I opened the fire-proof safe and dragged out the notebooks just for you!
This is from "Sideways" Part 5. I typed it up from the handwritten rough draft. There are no guarantee that it will be close to the final version or that it won't be cut in editing. But, here you go!
“And after that, you’ll be back in this other timeline, hmm?” Dr. Quigley reached for the bishop and then paused.  He picked up his tower instead.
The med bay lights always felt extra bright reflecting off the room’s metal surfaces.  Shepard squinted at the chessboard on Quigley’s desk.  A bold move.  Too bold.  She had to not be seeing something here.
“You must be good chums with Alenko in this other life?”
“Quite chummy.  You’re really buying this story I’m telling you?”
“Naturally.”  Quigley rested back in his chair and steeped his hands in front of him.  “My most recent head scans for you are a little outdated though.  And I do need to inventory the narcs.”
“Not all mental illness is anatomical.”  Shepard vacillated with her queen.  Two good choices.
“I’m glad you’re giving me more doctor’s advice.  We needed this workshop.”
“So,” Shepard said lightly, keeping her eyes on the board.  “How’d Kaidan take the news?  You told him about the . .. permanent damage.”  Whatever medical consequences there were to his Red Death, the doctor had hinted at but refused to tell her.
She set the queen on the black square near his tower.  Slowly lifting each finger off, she leaned back in her chair.
Quigley snatched her queen up with his rook.
“Dammit.”  She was losing her touch.  Or maybe just her concentration.  “You can answer my question though, right?  I’m not asking what you told him, just the reaction.”
“I don’t see much purpose sharing that.”  Quigley dropped her queen beside the board. He made a prompting motion for her to continue.
She gave up any pretense and looked Quigley in the eye.  “Was he all right?”
“Seems to be, doesn’t he?” Quigley nodded at the mess hall over her shoulder.
Kaidan stood at the coffee machine, trapped between Cortez and Allison, listening to one of Adam’s tales, replete with exuberant hand motions.  Allison seemed to be the only one not anticipating the laugh beats.
Shepard sighed. “Hell. You’re right.  I’m being nosey.”
“I'm already sold on you being another Shepard.  Saying ‘you’re right’ is just overkill.”
The med bay doors slid open with a hiss air.  Cicero cut a clean figure in a well-pressed uniform and pressed-lipped smile.
“Here for medical treatment?” Shepard asked.
He wasn’t, of course.  His eyes had zeroed directly on her the moment his squeaky boots hit the threshold.
“I am to understand that you deserve congratulations.”  Cicero meandered slowly along the counter toward them.
“I don’t think so. The doc’s beat me.  Just took my queen.”
“Ah, that delightful humor.”  Cicero tapped a tray of scalpels as he passed it.  “Those have water stains.”
“Oh, dear.”  Quigley clutched his chest.  “I wondered what killed my last patient.”
Cicero ran his hand under the edge of the cabinets and examined it with rubbing fingers.  “This whole bay could use a thorough clean.”
“No objection here.”  Quigley shrugged.
“Anyway.”  Cicero ambled to the desk.  “You’re acting counselor or so I heard on ANN.“
“Forgot my tiara and sash downstairs, but yes, you heard right.”
“Congratulations then.  I’d share a glass of wine with you, but it’s been adulterated.  The antichrist must be aboard. Rather than water to wine, it appears wines can become water.”
“I wouldn’t be surprised if he was,” she said simply.
“Regardless, a handshake will have to do.”
“Not even that is necessary,” she said begrudgingly, but shook his proffered hand.
She checked her palm after drawing back.  There hadn’t been a noticeable sting, but she’d been fooled before with a handshake.  Nothing seemed amiss though.  He was trying to unsettle her with his politeness.
“I suppose the late Councilor Wilson would be grateful seeing you take bat.  He had grown rather close to you and Alenko.  That is, before the end.”
“Uh huh.”  Shepard’s blood pumped.  “If you give me a ‘God rest his soul,’ Cicero, I swear . . .”
“Swear what?  I think it’s well-established that attacking me, at least publicly, is not a route without consequence.”
Shepard lurched to her feet, knocking chess pieces over on the desk.  “Thanks for the handshake and veiled threat.  I’ll see myself out.”
“Ah, ah.  Not so fast.”  Cicero caught her elbow then quickly let go.  “Though my wine’s off the menu, I would be pleased if you’d join me in my cabin for conversation.”
“I’d rather be waterboarded.”  She shot toward the door.
“So sure?  Well, that is a shame.  There’s something you may like to hear.”
Her feet caught.
She urged herself toward the door, even lifted a hesitant hand to the open button.  She should have taken Kaidan’s advice the first time.  Nothing good ever came out of a conversation alone with Cicero.
“About what?” She couldn’t help herself.
“Dr. T’Soni.”
Shepard’s gut twisted.
“Well, if you change your mind, you know the floor number.”  He strolled around her.
Frozen in place, she could only watch his retreating back.  He cast a thin smile over his shoulder before disappearing through the door.

all you had been doing for hours was running. you hated it. normally, you wouldn't mind running this much. but, when you were being hunted for your life, you despised it. you soon found out not to play around with the king of spades after getting shot in the side leaving you where you currently are, sluggishly walking throughout the city continuously glancing around for the giant blimp in the sky. it'd been days since you last saw anyone, and you were beginning to think you would go insane if you didn't see someone soon.
you rested against a car, holding your side in pain as you tried to steady your breathing. you let go for a moment to check how many bullets were in your pistol currently, and sighed. you only had a few days left on your visa and was starting to worry about whether or not you would find a game in time or if it would be finished first. either way, you couldn't go far with this wound. you slowly slid down the car and rested your head against the door, closing your eyes and taking deep breaths.
you thought you were going crazy when you heard footsteps from behind you, and your eyes quickly opened and you aimed your pistol, ready to fire.
"woah, woah, wait!"
your blurry vision left you searching to figure out who was in front of you, but after focusing for a few seconds you lowered your gun. "hikari?" you said.
"oh my god, y/n. i thought you were gone!" kuina immediately hugged you tightly.
"ow," you mumbled in pain but hugged her back.
"are you okay?" she asked.
"not really," you shook your head. "i got shot at by the king of spades and this happened." you lifted your shirt slightly to show the bullet wound.
"y/n, that's bad," kuina said.
"i know," you nodded. "but i couldn't find anything," you sighed, leaning your head against the car again. "you're the first person i've seen in a few days, though. 'm glad it's you." your speech started slowing down the more you spoke, a little smile forming on your face. you were losing too much blood and you were starting to feel it now. "i missed you."
kuina tilted her head to the side, looking at you confused. "are you sure you're okay? you never say things like that." she said suspiciously.
"i'm fine," you waved your hand. "i just wanna take a nap."
"nu-uh, nope, c'mon," she shook her head and stood up straight again.
kuina grabbed you by one of your arms, lifting you up and hooking your arm around her neck with her arm around your waist. she glanced down at your bleeding side and bit down on her lip, knowing soon enough you would pass out. "alright, just stay awake a little longer, okay?" she said to you.
"i can try," you replied with a short nod.
"good enough for me," she said, starting to walk down the road with you.
after a few minutes of walking in silence, your head was starting to feel heavy, and you felt yourself slouching against kuina as she held you up on both feet walking for the both of you. your hand was starting to slip off her neck and you almost collapsed to the ground if she hadn't caught you quickly.
"fuck!" she cursed, lifting you back up to your feet. "y/n? hey, y/n? look at me," her hand gently turned your face to look up at her.
as you looked up at her, your eyes were barely open and your vision was blurry as you tried to focus. "what is it?"
"i just wanted to make sure you're okay," she said softly. "i need you to stay with me, okay?"
"i'm right here, i'm not going anywhere," you mumbled. "but, i don't want you dragging me along."
"what do you mean?"
"i'm gonna die anyway whether you are with me or not," you started. "i don't want you to be with me when i drop."
"am i supposed to just let you go? you're crazy," kuina shook her head. "c'mon, we're almost there."
"okay," you murmured in response. you continued to walk beside her, and your eyes were slowly closing, black starting to fill your vision when you completely collapsed onto the ground.
"y/n!" kuina exclaimed. "shit, shit, shit," she cursed, looking down at you. "okay, come on," she said to herself, scooping you into her arms and holding you bridal style to get you back to the others faster. "please stay with me."
rushing back to where the others were, kuina was panicking due to you barely being responsive. thankfully, ann was the most calm person there and was able to bandage you up so you wouldn't lose anymore blood. kuina sat down next to you in silence as she waited for you to wake up, fiddling with the stick in her mouth to try and keep herself as calm as possible. she didn't know what she would do without you. you two were supposed to make it out of her together, not just one of you. let it be the damned king of spades to fuck everything up.
kuina let out a sigh and leaned her head against the wall, closing her eyes as she waited. she didn't know how long she'd been waiting, but it'd been well over two hours since she brought you to the others. ann had told her that without any kind of real medicine, it would take a while for you to wake up, but unsure of how long. that left her waiting for who knows how long until you would wake up.
suddenly, movement shifted beside her, and kuina immediately opened her eyes and looked down to see you waking up. "oh my god, y/n!" she gasped, leaning down and hugging you.
"ow," you let out, now fully awake from the pain of weight on your wound. "what happened?" you questioned.
kuina pulled away and looked down at you. "i brought you back to the others. ann fixed you up for me but, you were unconscious for hours," she answered.
"i'm sorry," you were quick to apologize. "i didn't mean to scare you like that."
"it's alright," she replied. "there's only two games left, so we're staying right here until it's finished or the king of spades finds us and we run to another spot."
you nodded your head, "i am perfectly okay with that, since i'm definitely not able to do much right now."
"don't worry too much, we're getting out of here," she smiled at you.
"i know," you smiled back. "i love you."
"i love you too."

Ok so
I made that devilled pheasant recipe that was reported to be Anne's favorite in the issue of Country Life she guest edited (but with chicken rather than pheasant as it's a difficult bird to find around here out of season and expensive any time of year, and I didn't want to waste "shipping it in" money on something I might not even like)
Some thoughts:
I kinda had to guess my way through this because the recipe is super vague. No oven temperatures, very little indication of how long things should be allowed to cook, and based on the video I'm pretty sure the British are working with rather different definitions of "casserole" and "tender" than we are in the US
The spices the bird is boiled in smell divine by themselves, and I've saved the stock because I think it will make a great soup base. I about quintupled the garlic used because northern European recipes and especially British ones never use enough garlic. "One clove" is either a joke or like. Eating whole like a candy once it's dried or roasted amounts, not flavoring a dish to feed four amounts. I used three and also rubbed the meat in garlic powder before I did anything else with the recipe.
By the same token, I think it would materially improve the outcome if the meat were dry rubbed in all the spices (+extra garlic) and allowed to soak them in overnight before beginning the cooking process.
Included in the vagueness - it didn't say whether to keep or chuck the carrot and onions when you drain the meat. I chose to keep and I'm glad I did; the carrot in particular adds a lot to the final product
The only double cream available here comes already stiff... Not paying 15 fucking dollars for enough to have a full metric cup so I used one 6 oz jar and made up the difference with heavy whipping cream. They blended together quickly and easily.
The mango chutney-whipped cream-worcestershire mix used to dress it is... It tastes. It's very fruity and very strong. I think it would be more enjoyable if stood up against the gamey flavor of a pheasant; as it is it's very rich and rather overpowering. Definitely better evenly mixed in rather than slopped on top as the recipe asks, and I think it could stand either more heat or more time in the oven once the meat and cream are added together. (Due to the lack of a temperature in either real or fake units I assumed they meant to heat it in what Americans would call a "warm oven" - 175 to 200°F, not enough for further cooking to really occur just enough to get everything to a warm temperature.)
Overall thoughts: It's more positive than negative for me, but I don't think this is going to be the kind of dish just anyone would instantly fall in love with after the first bite. It's a very unique taste and uses fruit in a way I don't normally see it used with poultry. As I said already, I think the gamier taste of pheasant would probably help this considerably but I don't think that alone is going to make it a perennial favorite. The pheasant crumble pie in the issue Charles guest edited seems to have a more traditional flavor profile and I think that would fall more along my lines of preference - perhaps I shall make it later.
Uhhh, I don't know how to end this soooo

Frankly, it also looks more appealing mixed together. This has none of the darker more vibrant oranges showing in the picture of the finished dish on the website which is another reason I'm suspicious I didn't get the right idea of what "heat it in the oven for 10 minutes" was actually supposed to mean

You climbed out of the taxi and grabbed your bags as you felt a flutter in your heart. You were home, finally. You had so much to tell Levi and your two kids. You were excited about your news and knew it was a long time coming, but on top of that, you had one other thing.
You put your keys in the door and opened the front door. You quietly closed him and pushed your bags to the side. You snuck around the house and peered into the living room to see Levi with your youngest, Kuchel, on his lap as he read her a book. Evan was on the floor doing some homework for school. You couldn't believe your six-year-old had homework, but it was what the school wanted.
You went into the kitchen and made snacks and drinks for everyone. You walked back into the living room and placed everything down. "Snacks and drinks for your three."
Levi hummed. "Thanks honey."
Evan jumped to his feet. "MUMMY!"
Levi flinched and looked over. "Bunny!?"
Kuchel reached for you. "Mama!"
Evan ran straight for you. "Mummy!"
You picked him up and spun around with him. "Hello, my little man." You covered his face in kisses. "I missed you. Have you been a good boy?"
He nodded. "I have."
"How's school?"
He pulled at your military uniform. "Lots and lots of fun."
You kissed his cheek making him giggle. "I'm so glad." You put him down. "Let's say hello to Kuchel." You laughed as she jumped on the sofa and held her arms out. "I got you."
Kuchel hugged you tightly when you held her. "Mama. I missed you."
You gave her a tight cuddle. "I missed you too. Have you been having fun with daddy?"
"Yes, lots!"
You hummed a laugh. "I'm glad." You covered her face in kisses. "I have a certain daddy to say hello to." You placed her down and smiled at your husband with tears in his eyes. "Hi, bear."
Levi yanked you into his arms and held you so tight it knocked the wind out of you. He clung tightly to your body as he let the silent tears fall. "Welcome home."
"It's good to be home."
Levi pulled back a little before crashing his lips against yours. He smiled against your lips when he heard his kids giggling. He pulled back and looked at them. "Oi, what are you two up to?" He stalked towards them. "I'll...GET YOU!"
You giggled as your husband ran around the living room after his kids. You hummed softly and left them. You grabbed your bags and walked upstairs to your bedroom. You unpacked everything in the right places and put other things in the wash basket.
You pulled your things off and grabbed your comfy clothes. You paused a moment and looked at yourself in the mirror. Your body was covered in scars, but the one thing that stood out was your baby bump. You blushed and rubbed your belly. You'd been gone for three months and during that time, you'd not had your period.
The month before going, you and Levi had been very active. Levi usually went on a lovemaking marathon when you got the word you had to go. You were sure you got pregnant then because you were supposed to have your period before you went, but nothing happened. When you got to the base and got shipped off, you still hadn't gotten it. You alerted your medic and got put on watch and moved off from being a commanding officer on the front line to a commanding officer at the camp. You didn't tell Levi in your calls to him because you knew he would panic.
You dragged on your baggy clothes and turned to the bedroom door to hear Evan crying. "Evan?"
Levi walked in holding Evan. "He thought he dreamed you coming home."
"Aw, baby." You took him from Levi. "I'm right here. I was just getting changed. I'm so sorry."
Evan clung to you. "Don't leave again."
You sighed and rubbed his back. "I'm sorry I upset you."
"Don't go."
You kissed the side of his head. "Evan."
Levi hugged himself. "This happens a lot you know? I don't want you to feel bad, but both of them cry for you."
You whined a little. "Yeah..."
He gulped hard and looked away. "I do too."
You sighed. "Where's Kuchel?"
"Hugging a picture of you in the living room."
You welled up. "Right." You walked down to Kuchel to see her talking to your picture. "Kuchel?"
She looked over at you. "Mama?" She welled up. "You are home!"
You knelt down and hugged her. "I was just getting changed. I'm sorry." You sat on the floor and held her against you. "I'm sorry, both of you."
Levi sat behind you and hugged you. "I'm glad you're home."
You leaned back against Levi. "I am too. I actually have something to tell you all."
Levi leaned around and looked at you. "What is it?"
You sighed. "Well, I have been moved."
Levi whined. "Where?"
You smiled softly. "Here."
His eyes lit up. "What?"
You hummed a laugh. "I've been moved to the military base near our home. I'm no longer going to be sent away for months. I asked to be moved back because I miss you three. They said they've been thinking of it and offered me a training position at the camp. So, no more being sent away."
Evan gasped. "You're staying?"
You nodded. "That's right."
Kuchel squealed. "Mama stay!"
You laughed. "You're right. I will no longer be sent away. I now work at the base and will be training the new soldiers."
Levi nuzzled the crook of your neck as he shook a little, his tears of joy running down his cheeks. "I'm so glad."
You giggled. "I'm glad as well. I missed you three so much when I was gone. I hate being away from you for months. I just want to be home with you and now I can."
Levi leaned and kissed you. "Congratulations on the job."
"It's a pay increase too."
"That's amazing."
You hummed a laugh. "Thanks. I mean, we need the extra money."
Levi frowned. "We do?"
You nodded. "Yeah, with the baby coming, we need more money to pay for diapers and things."
Levi's eyes sparkled. "Baby?"
You nodded. "I found out when I was stationed. I didn't tell you because I knew you'd worry. Don't worry, I stayed at the camp and went nowhere near the fighting."
He rubbed your belly. "I understand. I freaked out when you found out you were pregnant with Evan. So, you made the right call." He smiled. "A baby."
You hummed a laugh. "That's right."
Evan lifted his head. "Baby?"
You nodded. "I have your baby brother or sister in my belly."
He gasped and placed his hands on your belly. "Baby!"
Kuchel clapped her hands. "Baby!"
You giggled. "Together again. One big happy family."
Levi kissed your shoulder. "You're right. I hate to break the moment, but it's nap time."
Kuchel rubbed her eyes. "Okay."
Evan pouted. "Mummy."
You kissed his forehead. "I'll be here when you wake up, I promise."
He smiled. "Okay!"
You picked up Kuchel and Evan making them giggle. You carried them upstairs and put Kuchel to bed first. You tucked her in and kissed her cheek. "Sleep well, my little angel. I'll see you in about two hours, okay?"
She nodded. "Night mama."
"Night."
You carried Evan to bed and tucked him in. "See you in a bit. Sleep well, my love."
He yawned. "Night mummy."
"Night." You left him and went downstairs. You sat on the sofa and sighed. "God, I feel like shit making them cry and making you cry."
Levi sat next to you. "I shouldn't have said that. I'm sorry."
You looked over at him. "Don't be sorry. I can't imagine how hard it is for you. You have two young ones to look after and a wife out in the middle of a war-torn country who might not come back. It's a lot." You reached over and played with Levi's hair. "I'm so glad I'm home. I'm glad we're together and I'm glad I got the transfer. We can all be together, at last."
Levi slipped his hand on your thigh. He massaged the inside and moved up to your crotch. "I missed you and I'm glad you're home. I have a confession."
You blushed at him massaging. "What is it?"
He cupped your crotch and ran his thumb against your pubic area. "I might have masturbated a few times while you were gone. I thought of you the whole time." He blushed. "I used the clone you made of your pussy."
You smiled. "Well, I used the clone I made of your dick."
He leaned closer to your lips. "So, we fucked clones of each other."
You pushed your fingers into his undercut and scratched a little. You moved your other hand to the bulge in his trousers. "We did. I thought of you every time."
"Me too. You're the only woman in this world I want to fuck and cum inside."
You purred at him. "I love it when you cum inside me. I missed that."
Levi kissed and nipped your neck as he started moving his hand against you. "I have plenty of cum saved up for you. Can I fill you?"
You moaned a little. "Yes."
He stood up and offered his hand. "To the bedroom?"
You stood up and pressed yourself against Levi. "Remind me why I love your cock."
He lifted you up. "Easy."

I am so tired. Everyone thought I was taking off from the market today but I did not! I was there and I spent more money then I made but it was a beautiful day and I'm glad I was there. And I got a lot done today.
I slept alright. When I got home James helped bring everything upstairs. And I hate to go to sleep with a big mess but there was only so much we could do. They would sort the laundry and at least get things into the correct rooms. But it was just a lot to get done. I would save that for today.
We went to sleep and I woke up at one point to use the bathroom and got very woozy and almost fell over. I really wanted a mournful of peanut butter but instead was able to make it back to bed and fell asleep.
I woke up after 7 and got ready pretty quick. My hair was looking really nice today. Like healthy nice. I have been liking it after I wash it and it's really doing wonders for me. Especially as we get into winter and the air gets dryer I am trying to focus on hair health so it can grow longer. Trying not to use much heat and being gentle. A little self care project.
We went to McDonald's and got 3 hash browns to share and then James helped me get set up for the day. Stanley had to head out so James couldn't lollygag outside with me. They don't often anyway but I still want them too. After I got set up we got our bakery stuff from Ginny early. And I would go back and pay for it because James had to run back inside.
I was a little fidgety at first today and wanted to walk around and see everyone. Lock gave me a fancy tomato for free. I got my guacamole and figured out why it's been weird. It's a different kind of avacado! I don't know enough Spanish to ask the nice man why but I saw them and they are lime color and longer. I still like the guac but Google says they don't have as much oil and that's why they are sort of thinner. Not as whippable. Still good but not as amazing as it was. I am still going to eat so much of it.
I also got berries and I got some figs. I got the figs for Anne, James's mom, because she loves figs. There is a joke about being waspy in there but I will let you write that yourself. Hopefully we can give her and Tucker those tomorrow. Maybe we'll have dinner with them.
I was happy to see CJ. Callie is just so good at making people flowers and it's super nice to have a friend there. I would make her a friendship bracelet while I was standing there trying to get any sales. It was a slow day for me. But not for the market. We got almost 700 people throughout the morning! That's crazy!
I didn't recognize her at first but Julie from the nursery came through and said hi. I was like hello, I know you but I'm not sure why but I'm not going to say that. And finally she mentioned Becky and I was like ohhh!!! It was because I had never seen her without a mask! She had a baby! He was so cute! And she had two dachshunds! It was nice to see her and she bought one of my sale bears. She said I can't say I haven't sold anything now and it was very sweet.
I only sold $10 bears today. Which is fine. I also sold 4 stickers. I need to get some new stuff for the table. I also need to have James order more sticker designs. I want to do some Halloween, or more likely all the holidays, ones this week I think. Maybe when we drove to my parents on Tuesday.
I did get some knitting done. And I enjoyed the weather. But it was also super windy and so I was a little stressed about things falling over which made me on edge. And then I was cold. Me and Callie went and stood in the sun and I sat in the dog sculpture which was very warm and we learned his name is Sailor which I thought was so cute.
Meril was there too and it was fun talking to her. I told her about Louis Wain and a tattoo I want to get and I made us both cry. And w sent texts to each other from across the market about the people who were very very clearly there for the jazz concert. With their berets and shirts just in their shoulders. And the music was good and wasn't as unbearably loud.
Ann was being bad cop at people because they were putting their cars where they shouldn't or letting there dogs fight or using market tables for eating?? But it was nice chatting with her too. We actually all catty and I come up with reasonable doubt. Like apparently someone didn't come last week because their mother died. But then their mother came with them this week. And I'm like. Maybe they have two mothers, maybe they were in a beautiful lesbian relationship you don't know!! That is basically how all our conversations go. She says something and I make a wild or outrageous explanation.
I was really excited to leave though. I had told James I would get groceries if they wanted me too but I was also super tired. They told me to go rest and they would come home and while they were working on laundry they would get groceries. I appreciated that. And a little after one, and after giving Callie a big hug and telling her to let me know if I could help her move/unpack this week because I love unpacking. She also told me she got her placement for teaching and she's really happy so I'm also really happy for her!!
I went inside to say goodbye to James and then I was out. Getting home was better then yesterday when everyone was driving stupid. But in the other direction towards the museum exit was completely sitting still and there seemed to be a bad accident in the middle of the traffic?? I hope everyone and everything is okay.
I got home and ran into Mr Will outside who gave me many cheek kisses because it's been like two months since I've seen him. He seemed so much healthier then the last time. I wanted to stay and chat but I was also so tired. So I had to say goodbye and come upstairs.
I got up here and I wanted to start cleaning but decided I would sleep as long as I needed, which ended up being until 5, and then would spend as long as was needed to get everything away.
And I fell asleep hard. I slept for almost 3 hours. I really needed it. And when I woke up I got redressed and had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. James was at the store still. And I spent a few minutes waking up and feeling like a person again.
Once I was awake I got into organizing. And would spend the next 3 hours sorting and putting away. I am not done, but at least it's better. Things have spots for now. I want to get some vacuum saver bags for some of our extra pillows and blankets. And I want to get rid of some stuff. But at least for now I have made great progress. And James helped a lot. They sorted my basket of half finished projects and fabrics and put them in the boxes I have gotten for that. And I worked on the closet in the studio. Finally got the cart in there. And I am just really pleased. I also found a better way to keep my extra garment rack and I'm going to use it for all my coats for now. Which frees up the closet even more.
I also started going through my lotions and makeups again. I got rid of a half trash bags worth of lotions and deodorant and makeup. All expired. Or weird smelling. James is going to go through our nail polish at some point this week and I am going to go through the bathroom closet. We just have a lot of half finished things and stuff we aren't using. And it needs to get cleared out. I'm very happy with what we got done though. Even if the work continues.
Around 9 I finally got a shower. And laid down. And now I am ready to get some sleep. James just came in the room and immediately sneezed so loud. Causing a commotion. And I'm sitting here texting stupid stuff to Celia and Jess is telling me about her day. And I feel happy.
Tomorrow I hope to get more organizing done. I also want to make a list of stuff I want to accomplish this week. I want to use my two weeks well. I hope you all have a good Sunday it's also my brother's birthday! He's going to be 30!! I love him very much. Maybe when we go see my parents on Tuesday we can see him for a minute. We will see what happens.
I love you all. Sleep good. Take care of yourself!!

Ngl I'm stoned and this is a lil dumb, but hopefully there's enough silly funny bits to make up for it lol
anyway, in which Calico Jack gets a new ship, and goes shopping for a new crew! Well, poaching, actually. Stealing, really. Not even well, but he's trying.
Steddyhands, but it's not the main focus of this, that is reserved for Jack's Fuckery lmao. NSFW in some bits, but not too graphically. There are some stabbings as well, but it's all one person at least.
---
"Ain't she beautiful?"
Ed nodded. "She is. She's also mine."
Jack did a double take between Ed and the ship. "Nah."
"Yeah? Literally, on the side there: Queen Anne's Revenge. Izzy painted it on; you were with us that day!"
"That could be a typo," Jack protested. "Pirates are not known for spelling accuracy. Besides, I found her fair and square, floatin' along."
"Right, because we meant to go back and get her at some point. I had Izzy put up the 'be right back' sign on the helm, did it fall off?"
Jack frowned. "Might have seen such a sign. Recognized the handwriting."
"And stole my ship anyway?"
"Look, if you don't want your shit stolen, then don't make it so stealable," Jack muttered. "Besides, would you rather anyone else have her?"
Ed shrugged. "Fair point. You said you've got a new crew?"
Jack led him further down the beach, back towards everyone else laying out on the sand. "Well, not yet. Actually, that's why I was so glad to see you guys! How would you feel about a mutiny, and then you all come join me, and we sell Steve?"
Ed groaned. "Seriously? I screamed in your fucking face that Stede-"
"Steve?"
"No, Stede!"
"Who? We're talkin' about Steve, right?"
Ed dropped onto the sand mid-step. "I can't tell if you're fucking with me and trying to be funny, or if you honestly think we have a Steve and Stede onboard."
"Look, you wanted change, right? What better change than a little demotion? I captain, you can be first mate for me, and we'll sell Izzy and Steve."
Ed stood up with a start. "Hang the fuck on. You want to demote me to the arguably much shittier job of first mate, and you want to sell off my boyfriends?"
Jack raised a brow. "Oh. Both of 'em, huh? You always did like a challenge. Or you wouldn't have ever fucked me, right?"
"You're not really answering the question."
Jack threw up his hands. "Fine. We'll do this the hard way. I'll convince your crew to join me, then we'll sell you, Izzy, and Stede."
"Hey! You got it right!" Ed smiled. "But also if you do actually try and poach our crew, I'll do whatever I have to do to stop you, Jack. I don't want to, but I will."
Jack laughed. "Okay, you do that. You maim me or beat me to a pulp, big scary Blackbeard!"
Ed giggled. "I will! You're not nearly as good a friend as you were before too so I mean, maybe consider that. Kind of already upset with you! Won't take much more to really piss me off!"
Jack stepped closer. "I'd like to see you like that. Pissed off, ready to rip me apart. Bet you still couldn't."
"Jack-"
"I need a crew. Yours sucks, but I'm not in a place to be picky. Whoever doesn't agree with me can go in a cage with you and your boys, and we'll buy something nice for the ship with whatever we get for all of you."
Ed frowned. "Not that badly decorated, is she? I know Izzy said I've got too many skulls around-"
"It is a lot of skulls," Jack interrupted. "But nah, it ain't that bad. No, I just think it'll piss you off knowing I'm using that money to redecorate your quarters. My quarters, now."
"Everyone warned me that I wouldn't want you as an ex," Ed sighed. "Think I understand that now."
"I got a reputation to uphold," Jack grinned. "Anyway, don't mind me skulking around chatting up your crew. You can't stop me, nothing wrong with talkin' to people!"
Ed nodded as he watched Jack walk off, whistling as he kicked up sand. He needed to talk to Stede, ASAP.
--
"Izzy!"
"Jesus fucking chr-the fuck is wrong with you?!"
Izzy nearly dropped the wooden box of marmalade jars he was hauling from the Revenge's galley at Jack's appearance, though that was bullshit in and of itself. He had told Ed and Stede they'd inevitably want more than the few jars they'd grabbed so why not take more right away? But no, they were stubborn and didn't and now he couldn't leave them sans marmalade, that would be cruel-
"You keepin' the wives happy?" Jack's fingertip slide across the edge of the box. "Please tell me this isn't what y'all use for lube."
"Who the fuck would do that?" Izzy scoffed, then remembered who he was talking with. "Christ, no, they've just got a slight addiction to this with toast. Speaking of, I'm expected back."
Jack's hand slapped flat on the front of the box. "They can wait a little longer."
Izzy rolled his eyes. "I appreciate the intimidation tactic, but those two will come looking shortly, and they're hungry on top of it all. That is actually intimidating, so if you'll kindly get the fuck out of my way."
"Izzy," Jack hissed, leaning forward. "We could be so good together."
"I don't know if this is a come on or an attempt to make me join you as crew, but I'm not interested in either," Izzy said as he shifted the box onto his hip. "I only need the one hand free to stab you, Jack. I would love the opportunity. If you don't move now, then I'll take it."
Jack clucked his tongue. "Thought you'd be an easier target than this."
"Hm."
"Don't really know what to do now," Jack admitted. "It wasn't a come on, but, since we're alone here on this nice big ship..."
Izzy blinked. "Right. You do whatever you feel you need to; I'll go let Roach know we'll need to deep clean this area, and bring the boys their marmalade before they riot."
"Izzy, come on. You seriously don't want a chance at something new? Something more?"
Izzy scoffed. "As if you'd have me as first mate. No, I'm sure you'd take the first chance to kill, maroon, or sell me off. I'm not an idiot, Jack. Here's what you should know from here on out-"
With the box still balanced on one hip, he pulled a knife from his belt. "I am very happy with the current situation. Believe me, it surprised me at first too-"
"You are a miserable bastard," Jack interrupted with a chuckle.
Izzy nodded, then stabbed the knife into Jack's abdomen.
"Well then," Jack panted. "You meant it, with the stabbing."
"In all the years I've had to trail after you and Edward, making sure neither of you wandered drunk into the sea, have I ever lied to you about all the harm I'd like to do to you?"
Jack nodded. "You have threatened me a lot over the years!"
Izzy smirked. "And you didn't listen to a word of it. Now, I'm taking my knife back, and I'm getting this marmalade to the boys. And if you try to poach anyone else off this crew, so help me I will stab you until there's nothing solid enough left to stab."
He yanked his knife from Jack's flesh, and strode out. Thankfully, he hadn't gotten any blood on the box or any of the jars.
--
"Sup?"
Roach stared into the trees, specifically eyeballing the one he was pissing closest to. "Sorry?"
"Not bad," Jack popped out from behind one of the trees. "Your dick, I mean. Was flippin' through that book Steve has, what's-his-name did a good job drawing yours."
Roach finished and put himself away while pondering a response. "His name is Lucius, and it's Stede, not Steve-"
"Who is?"
Roach shook his head. "Forget it. Thanks, I guess. About my...yeah. I'm gonna head back to the crew, if you want to j-"
"Join! Me, no! But you, could join me, yes!" Jack grinned.
"Was your goal to make a pitch using the fewest words possible?" Roach asked. "Because you did it, but it was weird. Weird for you, which I think is an important distinction."
"So, you'll be my chef?"
"No! Nothing I said was anything about doing that!"
Jack frowned. "Shame. Your cooking is amazing."
At that, Roach couldn't hold back a smile. It was at least partially just Jack trying to butter him up, but fuck it, it was still complimentary enough.
"Would love to have that sort of fine work onboard the Quee-uh, the King Jack's... Revenge..Revenger."
Roach nodded. "Very sweet of you, but I'm good where I am. The offer to join us for a midnight snack still stands though; we're making s'mores!"
He peered down Jack's front. "Is that blood?"
"Just a little bit, Izzy didn't like being asked to join me, and boy howdy did he let me know! He's a scrappy lil guy, huh?"
Roach smirked. "What if I tell him that I met you out here?"
The color drained from Jack's face, though that might have been the stab wound as much as anything else. "No, you don't have to-why would he even want to know that, I mean...ah fuck it, you ain't worth it! I'll find a better chef!"
Jack went crashing off into the trees, with a final bird flipped to Roach as he went.
"This is why we need piss break buddies," Roach muttered to himself. "Everyone thinks it's 'oh Roach is afraid of the dark', but no, it's weird shit like this! That's what we need someone with for!"
He made a mental note to tell Izzy about the encounter first thing when he got back. He had a feeling he would burn hot enough they could heat the s'mores over him instead of the fire.
--
"No."
"I didn't even say anything yet," Jack chuckled. "C'mon Jim. You and I haven't even spent any time together, and I bet you're jealous of the rest of them over it."
"Could you fuck off?" Jim asked sharply. "Even if I wasn't in the middle of this, the answer would still be no. Roach warned us you were hiding out and doing this."
Olu lifted his head from between Jim's thighs. "Seriously! You are really fucking distracting, and this is fucking rude! Would you storm into someone's bedroom while they were fucking and ask them to join your crew?"
"Have done that once before, actually," Jack said as he sat down by Jim's head. "Don't let me interrupt."
"Are you fucking kidding me?!" Jim shouted, and a startled cry went up from the campsite near the beach.
"Damn it," Jack hissed. "Thanks a lot; if Izzy stabs me again it is your fucking fault!"
Jim glared, held out their hand for a knife, and jabbed the one Olu handed them into Jack's arm.
"Now that's unnecessary," Jack scoffed. He yanked the knife out, then stood and darted back into the trees, just as Izzy and Roach came crashing into the clearing.
"He's gone already," Roach sighed. "Fuck."
"You know the ship would be more comfortable than here," Izzy commented to Jim.
Jim handed the blooded knife back to Olu, and tossed an arm over their eyes. "Yes. Yes it would be. But we thought we'd have more privacy in the fucking jungle! Than anywhere else! And we were wrong!"
"We'll go," Roach said gently, tugging Izzy by the elbow. "Sorry about all of this."
"Right, we'll get him the next time," Izzy nodded.
"Sure, great, thank you!" Olu shouted as they crashed back through the brush. "Should we try the ship instead?"
"Nah, at least they know which area to avoid now. Not exactly privacy, but I'll take it," Jim sighed. "You still good down there?"
"Wouldn't want to be anywhere else."
--
"So, we aren't hunting Jack down to kill him, in theory," Ed said. "Just to make him fuck off, or chill the fuck out and stop bothering everyone about joining his crew on my ship. That he stole."
"Yeah, you keep mentioning that," Frenchie noted.
"Yeah, well, it was a really dick move," Ed said. "So I think it bears repeating."
"The goal is to talk to him," Stede added. "If you feel you will be moved only to violence instead of words, then please come get one of us. That way we can try the talking bit, and if it doesn't work we always have violence as a solid back up plan."
"A note on that," Izzy said. "Do not get me for the talking bit, only Ed or Stede. I am on the side of violence first, so if you want help in any violence against him, that's when you find me."
Stede smiled and clapped his hands together. "Perfect! Everything crystal clear, we all have snacks and water... let's get going!"
Before anyone could take a step, Jack forced himself through a small gap between two trees near their camp. "Ah ha! Thought you'd- ouch, fuck-seen the last of old...hang on, fuckin' coat is stuck...there, the last of old Calico Jack?! Well, here I am!"
He was covered in dirt, blood, hair greasy and a mess. At some point he'd managed to lose both his boots but gained a new one that was nothing like his original pair.
"Okay, that makes things easier!" Stede said. "We need you to stop this, Jack. You're a sensible... well. You're a man who understands...no. You...if someone went around poaching your crew, if you had one, that would bother you, yes?"
Jack nodded.
"Well, that's our issue," Stede continued. "I respect and understand you want a crew of your own again. However, and I will speak plainly: you're a fucking menace. And if you think you should be scared of Izzy over this, then you're both right and wrong. Right, because he does want to stab you again, but wrong, because if you keep trying to steal my crew, I'll gouge your fucking eyes out with my bare hands. Ed taught me how to do that a few weeks ago, and I could use the practice!"
Dead silence.
Then, Ed, softly.
"Jack. I need to take Stede back to the ship, immediately. I'm going to give you two minutes to make it back to my ship that I'm going to let you keep borrowing-"
"Come on," Jack interrupted. "Just face it; I stole her fair and square! Also, weird seeing you hard in those pants when I'm not the one causing it. Kinda hate it, actually."
Ed glared at him. "As I was saying. You may continue to borrow my ship for now. You have two minutes to return to it before the crew gets to chase after you. Ship is safe, but if you have even a toe off it-"
He shrugged. "I would make sure I'm on the ship by then. Were it me."
"I hate how hot it is when you talk like that," Jack chuckled. Then, with a tired sigh, he burst into a sprint towards the Queen Anne's Revenge.
"Are you actually gonna send us after him?" Wee John asked. "Seems a waste of time."
"Can if you want, but he's always been a spry fucker. He'll probably be onboard and below deck before we know it," Ed replied. "But I do need to get Stede back to the ship-"
"Yeah, yeah, you wanna fuck his brains out for the eye gouging threat," Jim laughed. "We know; you aren't subtle."
Ed nodded. "So Stede, Izzy, and I will be busy for the rest of the night. You all...do whatever you want. Come back onboard, spend the night camping out here, whatever makes you happiest. If Jack bothers you-"
"Threaten to stab him," came the crew's chorus.
--
On the Queen Anne's Revenge, Jack bandaged his wounds. Maybe having his own ship again wasn't the right thing, right now.
At the sound of distant moaning, he looked out from his quarters with his spyglass. There, in the window of the Revenge's main quarters, he could see Ed and Stede and Izzy and shedding clothes...
He set the spyglass down after a moment, and pondered if they needed anyone in a role like that. To bring water, snacks, clean towels, more lube, etc.
He decided he'd start asking around with the crew in the morning.

I have such conflicted feelings about Sasha because she’s like... a bad friend, and manipulates and controls people to get what she wants, and just makes so many fucking awful decisions... but then there she goes! Accepting her own death to save Anne! Wanting the band to succeed, and then going all soft when Anne and Marcy are having fun, instead of being jealous! Not being willing to physically hurt Anne in their sword fights because she cares about her too much even if Anne is literally going for her vitals! Tackling Marcy out of the way! Fighting off Andrias, and almost tearing up when Anne denounces her friendship because well- she’s a horrible friend! And she knows it, but she- just refuses to accept it properly!
She’s so freaking infuriating in the best way because I can TELL she loves and cares about Anne and Marcy so freaking much but she’s absolutely horrible at showing it and doesn’t change because she thinks she’s in the right and for god’s frogging sake will you process your emotions for once in your life-

Louis De Pointe Du Lac x reader
Word Count: 1.5k
Warnings: mentions of sex, murder and blood

Requested; by anon, Hello! I'm back for more long-haired Brad. I was wondering if you could perhaps take a request for Louis from Interview with the Vampire? Where she is Claudia's caretaker, hired by Louis in hopes that reader would retain Claudia's humanity. And he slowly falls in love with her despite not wanting to corrupt her. Can be before or after Lestat is out of the picture. If you don't do Interview with the Vampire, that's completely fine. Thank you again!!
Summary: the request!

Louis looked you up and down carefully while Lestat held his glass of blood, also staring at you. You had only been here a few days but Lestat was amazed to see you still alive.
“I would have thought Claudia would have killed her by now,” he said, swirling his glass. Louis leaned against the wall and watched you play with Claudia, the dolls sprawled across the floor and the dresses ripped to pieces as you both attempted to make morph ones.
You had been hired by Louis to try and keep Claudia somewhat human. She was still a little girl and he gave her love and lots of it but she needed a woman who could teach her what he and Lestat could not. Lestat simply taught her murder and piano after all, although she was very good at both of those perfessions. Louis feared that he would fail and his darling daughter would turn into something worse than his friend whose taste wasn't’ something Louis agreed with all around.
You looked up and saw the two of them standing there and they both gave you smiles, Lestats strained and annoyed while Louis’s was kind and calming. You sat up out of the mess of dolls and fabrics and turned to Claudia.
“I’ll be just a moment darling,” you whispered and she nodded, turning to catch sight of her fathers. She smiled at them and then went back to her dolls as you stood up, walking over to them. “Can I help you boys?” They shook their heads.
“No, just checking in on her,” Lestat said with a mischievous smile. You gave him a glance but your gaze was focused intently on Louis' face who was also watching you. Lestat felt like a rude third party (which never happened, every girl in the city had crawled over Lestat at some point or another) but he refused to leave.
“How are you finding your room?” Louis asked. He had given you a place in their large estate which Lestat had some reservations over because he believed you would be gone by the end of the week if not sooner. You smiled brighter and Louis noticed the very human aspect of that smile, the glee in a sudden rush of your beating heart.
“It’s wonderful! Thank you both so much. I very much appreciate it,” you told them respectfully. Lestat rolled his eyes.
“Thank Louis, he is the one who insisted.” The blonde walked over to Claudia, annoyed with how much you were hanging off of Louis and not him. He was even more annoyed that Louis hadn’t quite caught on to that yet.
“Well then thank you Louis.” He nodded, a soft smile on his face that had been brought about with your happiness.
“Of course. I’m glad you like it.”
Louis had been a vampire for many years by the time he met you. He had seen women come and go from the doorstep, watched Lestat tear through one after the other, see the dead bodies Claudia left on the doorstep. But he had never felt such an attachment to a mortal being since his human days. A time he missed, a time you brought to him again.
But he forced himself to curb his feelings so matter the pain it caused him. It had been a long time since he felt romantic love for any woman so they were rare feelings but he couldn’t corrupt you.
Because he knew who he was and he knew who you were.
Different.
Too different for him to have the ability to love you like he wanted to as his feelings grew.
Lestat hated this new development. He had watched Louis crave human connection for many many years now and he was so tired of it. He was content with what he had and then he saw that Louis was in love with you and figured, if anything, Louis would simply turn you and that would be that, there would be another member of their family. What he hadn’t expected was the torture Louis put himself through trying to ignore his ever evident feelings. That he couldn’t bear to stand.
So he approached his life companion one night after you had left with Claudia to see some new toy stores that had arrived in town.
“You are aware that she is in love with you as well,” Lestat announced. Louis sat in one of the large fancy chairs (that were lightly stained in blood) and gave Lestat a long look.
“You know I can’t love her back, I’d kill her,” he said. The blonde walked over to Louis and put his hand on his shoulder.
“Then kill her and bring her back, I don’t care but if you look melancholy like this for one more day whos to say she doesn’t-” he paused, trailing his finger down his own cheek and to the side of his neck, “-succumb to my charms?” Louis stood up straight.
“You won’t put a finger on her.”
“Oh and you will?”
There was a knock on the door and you and Claudia walked in slowly, seeing if you were interrupting anything.
“Is this a bad time?” you asked and Louis shook his head quickly.
“What is it?” he asked softly. Claudia walked up to the both of them, showing them the doll she had gotten. A bit had been stitched with her name in red lettering onto the black dress.
“Look, Y/N is such a good searcher for dolls,” she said with a small giddy laugh. Louis nodded and touched the hair of the doll lightly.
“It was just a place I went as a girl.”
Lestat put his hand on the small of Claudia's back.
“Come mon cheri, you have to practice the piano piece before we go to the house down the street tonight,” Lestat declared. “Can you keep Louis company? He’s terrible at piano.” You laughed a little as Lestat and Claudia left the room, leaving you and Louis alone.
“I’m not that bad actually.”
“Probably better than me, no worries monsieur,” you told him smiling. You walked over to where he was and picked up one of the books on his table, looking it over once to avoid awkwardness. Your hand brushed the rough cover and he walked over, standing behind you.
“Lestat got that many years ago, from a dealer coming in from the new world,” he told you. You raised an eyebrow and looked over at his handsome face, smiling a bit.
“The cover is gorgeous.”
“The contents are quite gorgeous as well,” he told you but he was staring into your eyes as he said it which made you wonder if he was really talking about the book or not.
“Read me some?” you asked and he smiled, nodding. You handed him the book and your fingers brushed his cold skin that sent shivers down your spine. He gestured for you to sit down on the couch and you did so, allowing him to sit beside you. You brought your feet up on the fabric and leaned against the back as he began to speak.
His voice was like music as it rose and fell with the beginning of a story that should have been long dead. You smiled to yourself as he spoke and eventually your head was on his shoulder, intently listening.
His voice trailed off after a moment and you looked up at him, curious as to why he stopped. He looked back at you and you could tell there was a battle behind his eyes for something.
And then he raised his hand to your cheek, gently, watching your reaction which was very positive.
Then he kissed you and you kissed him and it was like a story book. Louis' lips trailed down your neck. He couldn’t help himself. He had to do this. For selfish reasons. He couldn’t bring himself to hold back as his lips sunk into your neck. You gasped but did not push away.
It seemed you understood more than you cared to admit to him.

Hello! Can you write something with female Y/N and Chishiya? She helped him with something and is injured after that. She fell or burn her back or hit her head, but pretends that nothing happened since she think he doesn't care and the injury it's getting worst by days, Chishiya didn't notice at first and he just don't understand why Y/N is not talking with him but lets it go, then the day of game comes and they both have to play and Y/N faints few hours before registration. He is panicking suddenly aware of his own feelings towards her and he is SO worried and feels guilty. I hope you can add a lot of angst but fluffy end? I'm sorry if this is messy, english is not my first language 😭 Thank you!
Of course! And don’t worry your English is great 😊 I hope you enjoy! ❤️

“Shit! Guys come on!”
You, Chishiya, Kuina and Usagi rushed through the bottom floor of the building. Flames were curling in the air around each side of you, quickly closing in to eat you alive.
All four of you had almost completed the game, being the only players left after the last puzzle of the building. It was a diamond game, a game of intelligence. You were lucky to have been with Chishiya, as Diamonds games were his specialty.
You were all sprinting across the room, together in a tight pack so the flames don’t manage to touch you. You were panting, feeling your lungs collapsing in on themselves, but you had to press on. Only a few more steps before you could jump through the glass window at the end of the room, which was quickly being engulfed.
Suddenly, you saw Chishiya, who was running next to you, trip on a loose bit of debris laying on the ground inconveniently. You looked back and saw him holding his ankle in pain.
Of course, just your luck.
You all stopped abruptly, skidding along the floor and looking back to Chishiya in fear. He saw you all, his eyes widening.
“What are you doing?! Go!” he called out, wincing in pain.
You looked towards Kuina and Usagi, watching as thoughts spiraled around their heads to figure out what to do. The flame was too close behind Chishiya for it to be safe, if someone was to help him, they would have to risk their life doing so.
Both Kuina and Usagi shook their heads and looked away. They turned away from Chishiya and began jogging towards the window again. You froze. There’s no way they would just leave him like that.
“Guys!” You called out to them. They turned to you with fearful expressions painted on their face. “What are you doing?!” You asked, fear and worry dripping from your words. You had to make up your mind soon or you would be burned to a crisp.
Kuina motioned for you to come to her. “Y/N, there’s no time! We have to go!” you could tell she felt awful about this decision, but you weren’t giving up just yet.
You looked back at Chishiya laying on the ground. He was staring at you with a worried expression, wanting you to hurry up and leave him. You couldn’t leave a friend that easy to die. You had to at least try.
You let out a big sigh and lifted your aching legs to race towards Chishiya. He began yelling at you the moment you started running. “No, no, no! Go Y/N! What are you doing?!”
You ignored his shouting and quickly knelt down beside him to lift his arm around your shoulders. You weren’t going to lose anyone else, you promised yourself that after your friends died in the first game you played after appearing in the Borderlands.
Chishiya kept arguing and shaking his head as you tried to lift his body. He was surprisingly heavy for someone his size. “Y/N, go! There’s no time! You can’t save me!” he at screamed you, becoming more desperate with every plea.
You continued to ignore him and began dragging him along towards the window, where Kuina and Usagi were already working on breaking the glass with debris from around them. “You’re not going to off yourself that easily Chishiya as long as I have a say in it,” you rasped out, struggling to keep upright with the extra weight on your shoulders.
As your heart pounded in your ears and you felt the fire become hotter and hotter around you, you suddenly felt an incredibly sharp pain across your spine. The sensation spread all through your body, from your head to your toe, making you cry out and almost collapse to the ground, but you stayed strong.
Chishiya had given up arguing with you, using his good leg to take a bit of his body weight off your pained shoulders. With his help, you managed to move much quicker, limping and staggering your way towards Kuina and Usagi, who had broken the window and were now waiting for you to come, yelling at you to hurry up.
You didn’t look back; you didn’t want to see how close the flames were. You knew it would do nothing but make the situation worse.
As you neared the window, you slowed down as Kuina ran out to help you lift Chishiya up and out of the window. You were relying completely on adrenaline at that point, having lost all of your strength through running and carrying Chishiya.
You managed to lift yourself through the cracked window, earning a few cuts from the leftover glass on the way, and collapsed onto the grass ground below you. A large barrier from inside the room (probably manufactured for the games) closed over the destroyed window as you fell, being lucky to be the last out of the four of you to escape. The flames were locked in, unable to harm you.
The four of you laid on the grass, panting and trying to regain your breath. As your adrenaline calmed down, the pain of your large burn mark set in. You covered your face with your hand and silently screamed against it, trying to drown out the searing pain somehow. You couldn’t worry the others, not after what just happened.
**************
The next couple of days was nothing but a struggle for you. As soon as you arrived back from the game, you stumbled your way to Ann’s medical room. She took a closer look at your burn wound, applying whatever she had to try and reduce the chance of it getting infected. But unfortunately, that didn’t reduce the pain.
After allowing Ann to wrap a bandage around your upper back to protect the wound, you slowly made your way back to your room on the upper floor. You didn’t want to rush yourself in case you made your wound worse, so you took your time in getting there.
Unfortunately, it was a bit too much time, as you managed to bump into Chishiya who popped out from around the corner. A small panic raised within you; you didn’t want Chishiya to see you like this! It’s embarrassing enough to like someone you had no chance with, but for them to see you stumbling and holding onto the wall because you can’t even keep yourself up? No, not today.
You stood more upright than before, giving Chishiya your best fake smile. “Hey Y/N,” he said, walking past you. You breathed a sigh of relief. Well, that wasn’t too bad.
You started to walk again before you heard Chishiya call out from behind you. “Oh, wait Y/N!”
You turned around, biting your tongue so you didn’t let out a yelp of pain as the skin on your back twisted with your movements. “Yeah?” you acknowledged him.
He gave you a half-hearted smile. “Thanks again, for earlier. I would’ve been a goner if you hadn’t risked your life like that for me,” he said, scratching the back of his head awkwardly. You’ve never seen him thank someone before, so you were shocked.
“Oh, it was no big deal! We should all help each other out, considering we haven’t really got anything else other than each other,” you said, smiling happily. You felt all giddy from him acknowledging the fact that you risked yourself for him.
“Yeah, but it was still pretty cool of you. Even Kuina and Usagi were willing to leave me there,” he chuckled as his own joke.
You laughed and shook your head at him. “I’m sure they were just doing what they thought was best for everyone else in the moment.”
Chishiya nodded and gave you a small wave. “I’ll see you tomorrow night then! Hatter let me know in the meeting this evening that you and I are together again. I’m glad though, because you seem to have the skill and brains to get through some tough games.”
You were flattered by his compliment. “Thanks, you too though! We would have burnt to a crisp if it weren’t for you during that diamond game tonight.”
The small talk was killing you. You just wanted to get back to your room and wallow in the silence that engulfed it. At least there, you could suffer from your burn wound a little louder than out in the public eye of The Beach.
Chishiya laughed at your statement. “No, I’m sure with you there it would’ve been fine,” he said back, making you smile wider.
“I’ll see you later then,” you exclaimed, waving a hand at him. He waved back with a grin on his attractive features before he turned around and continued down the hall with his hands tucked into their usual spot in his hoodie pockets.
You let out a big sigh of relief. That was close. You felt the pain seeping through your body the longer you stood there, hoping for Chishiya to just end the conversation. You felt guilty, it may have looked like you were trying to escape, since you were slowly backing towards the corner. Hopefully, he didn’t notice.
You stumbled the rest of the way towards your room, wincing and hissing in pain on the way. It felt like Ann didn’t do anything at all, but you couldn’t blame her. She had extremely limited resources and could only leave to search for more every few weeks.
When you finally made it to the door of your room, the familiar number engraved onto the middle of it, you gripped the handle and walked inside.
You collapsed onto your bed onto your stomach. There was no way you would be able to sleep on your back with this kind of pain, so you had to resort to either on your side or on your stomach.
Let’s just say, you had a restless sleep.
****************
You were hoping after a night’s sleep that the pain from your back would have disappeared at least a little bit. But you couldn’t have been more wrong. If anything, it had become worse. You probably managed to roll onto it a few times during the night, reopening any part of the wound that had sealed up over the time you’ve had it.
It took you far too long to get out of bed in the morning. You groaned and moaned in frustration as you crawled your way out of the duvet, almost collapsing off your bed. You felt rather pathetic, but who wouldn’t after not being able to do the simplest of tasks from a wound.
As you were walking to your closet to look for something to wear, you remembered you had to go see Ann again that morning. She had told you last night to return to her medical room the next morning so she could reapply a new bandage onto you, in case the other one gets bacteria or blood on it during the night somehow.
You quickly put on your usual swimmers to wear around the hotel and the black hoodie that you wore most of the time when you got cold. You didn’t want to risk anyone else seeing your wound. The gaping burn mark across your upper back was bound to attract unwanted attention.
You made your way down the hall to go see Ann again. There was nobody in the halls around the rooms due to it being close to noon. You slept in longer than you expected.
You slowly walked down the couple of flights of stairs, making your way to Ann’s medical room on the lower floor. The walk down to the lobby felt longer at that moment than it ever had.
You approached the door with the red cross along the front of it, indicating the medical room. You were about to lift your hand to turn the doorknob before you heard a loud voice yell from further down the corridor.
You shifted your eyes and saw none other than Chishiya striding down the hallway with his usual cocky smirk painted across his face. Of course, you had to run into him out of all people.
“Y/N! Wait!” he yelled as he jogged up to you.
You stayed silent, waiting to hear what he had to say. You wanted to ignore him and just walk into the medical room to see Ann to avoid any kind of questioning or suspicion from him, but you knew that would only make him more curious.
“Hey, you alright?” he frowned, questioning you. He reached out to place a gentle hand on your forearm, but you flinched away before he could touch you.
“Yeah, I’m fine,” you answered, trying to sound normal. The piercing feeling that your wound brought you began to make its way around your body again, making you slightly shift and shake. ‘Of course, it just has its moment while I’m talking to the one person that I don’t want to look like a weakling in front of,’ you thought to yourself in your head.
Chishiya frowned at your flinch, but seemed to shake it off quickly, moving onto something else. “So anyway, where were you this morning?” he asked, leaning closer to you.
“I-I was in my room. I had a late sleep in,” you said, gripping the doorknob to the medical room.
“Oh, weird. Do you remember what we talked about yesterday?” he said with a smirk on his face.
‘Oh shit, he’s mocking my bad memory,” you thought, feeling embarrassed.
“Um… no? Should I?”
“You, Kuina, Alice, Usagi and I were going to meet up this morning to steal some food from the kitchen and take it to the rooftop. You didn’t show up near the pool where we said we were going to meet!” he exclaimed. He was laughing, obviously not caring too much about your forgetfulness.
You thought for a second. You did recall having that conversation. You guessed that you forgot about it because you were so focused on trying to reduce the pain from your burn. Even if you did remember, as if you would’ve been able to run away from the chefs in the kitchen after taking the food with this injury.
“Me and Kuina even knocked on your door. You must have been really knocked out if you didn’t wake up from Kuina’s loud yelling.”
He then raised his eyebrow and smirked. “Unless you were hiding from me?”
Your could tell he was obviously joking, but he wasn’t far off from being right. That has been your intention since last night, but trust Chishiya to figure you out quickly enough.
You heart rate picked up from his accurate accusation. “Uh, sorry Chishiya, but I really have to go,” you mumbled out, giving him a quick fake smile before walking into the medical room and closing the door behind you.
Chishiya’s mischievous smirk fell from his face. You didn’t even give him a chance to say goodbye, and you seemed oddly nervous from his accusation that you were avoiding him. He felt somewhat hurt. Were you trying to avoid him?
He shook off his suspicions and continued down the corridor to the lobby to find something to entertain him for the meantime. You wouldn’t try to avoid him, would you? Perhaps he’ll confront you about it later.
*************
You were laying in your room reading a book when you heard the usual ring of the bell that was Hatter’s signal for everyone to move down to the lobby to prepare for the night’s games.
“Shit! Is it that late already?” you asked no one, glancing over at the digital clock on your nightstand.
You panicked and saw it was the time that you would head out to games. You said to yourself earlier that you would give yourself an early mark so you could get down there at the right time, considering you would be slow due to your condition, but you got distracted by your book and lost track of time.
You rushed to your feet a little too quickly for your body’s liking, causing the pain of your wound to shoot across your back without mercy, making you yelp in pain and fall forwards.
You managed to catch yourself before you face planted into the ground. You let out a few deep breaths, trying to regain your strength while the piercing pain became worse from your insistence.
You pushed yourself off the ground, placing your foot underneath you and attempting to stand to your feet. You had to make it to the cars at least, you knew if anyone found you at The Beach during game time, they would mark you a coward, or worse: a traitor.
You cursed under your breath and let out pained sobs as you tried to get to your feet again. But unfortunately, your body just wasn’t on your side at that moment.
Your feet gave out underneath you and your head pounded, causing you to feel dizzy and suddenly nauseated. You leant forwards as you emptied the contents of your stomach out onto the floor, gagging on the taste of it in the back of your throat.
Your eyes began to feel heavy, not being able to take the pain and stress you were under. You managed to roll yourself to the side so you wouldn’t land in the pile of vomit and lay yourself across the floor safely before you face planted.
“Fuck,” you rasped out, feeling helpless at that moment.
You couldn’t do anything as your vision narrowed, passing out from pain on the floor of your own room, no one around to help you.
*************
“Hello again everyone! I would like to say a few words before we all get into our groups and drive to our games!”
Hatter’s usual booming voice thrusted across the crowd in front of him. Another night, another gathering. Just like every other day.
Chishiya stood at his usual spot in the back, leaning against the cement wall and rolling his eyes at Hatter’s words. He never seemed to have anything useful to say. Just some preachy words that created false hope.
‘How about for a change, he gave us some advice? It would probably spare some people a few headaches,’ Chishiya thought to himself.
He stood on his toes and tried to search the crowd for the top of your head. He was becoming anxious. You would usually be down in the lobby by now.
He was more nervous due to the way you’ve been acting all day. Usually, you two were joined at the hip twenty-four seven, but the only time he saw you that day was in the morning when you walked into the medical room.
He wondered why you were going in there. You never went to Ann unless it was for something drastic, but you seemed completely healthy and unharmed.
As the time ticked on, Chishiya became more and more worried. You would never skip out on a game; you were too afraid of being caught by the executives for that.
Hatter finished off his nightly speech with the list of groups and which number wristbands go where. Chishiya didn’t even care to pay attention as everyone began making their way towards the entrance of the hotel where they would pile into the cars and drive off to the games. He ran the opposite way, clambering up the flights of stairs to reach the level your room is on. If you had to be anywhere, it would be there.
He powered his legs into a sprint, having to brush his white locks out of his face once or twice due to them getting in the way. He eventually arrived at your room, stopping and panting to regain his breath.
He knocked on your door quietly at first, not knowing if you were asleep or something. “Y/N?” he called out through the door. “We need to head off to the games. Did you not hear the bell?”
When he received nothing but silence as an answer, he took it upon himself to walk in to see if you were there. He opened the door and peeked his head around the side, being careful in case you were indecent for some reason.
As he walked in further, his heart dropped as he saw you laying on the ground passed out.
“Y/N!” he exclaimed, rushing over to your body and kneeling beside you. He lifted your head onto his lap gently and immediately checked your neck for a pulse. A small feeling of relief flowed through him when he felt the beat of your heart on his fingers.
“Oh my god Y/N, what’s happened to you?” he stressed, tapping your cheek with his hand to see if you would wake. He was beginning to become more worried as time ticked on. He glanced over at the clock on your nightstand and saw that it was getting later. He had to wake you up before registration closed for all the games.
He lifted you up from under your arms, using all his strength to pull you into your small bathroom. He placed you gently on the tiled floor, stuffing a towel underneath your head for support. He quickly shifted your body around, trying to look for any source of injury that caused you to pass out. He froze when he noticed a few stains of blood on the back of your hoodie. He quickly lifted the hem of your shirt to see what was causing the stains.
His eyes almost popped out of his head from the sight. He gasped at the huge burn wound on your back, stretching across from your shoulder blades to your waist. The bandage that Ann had wrapped around it had come loose, hanging off your abdomen carelessly. His heart filled with guilt as he examined it more closely. Why didn’t he look after you?
He immediately put two and two together and realized that you had probably passed out from the pain of the burn mark.
He stood up from his position on the floor and grabbed a small cloth from your towel rack, running it under the water from the tap. He knelt back down next to you and carefully placed the wet fabric against your wound. He was so afraid of hurting you, but he had to do what he could to make you better for the game.
“Oh, come on, please wake up Y/N,” he breathed out. Stress and anxiety filled his tone, making the air more tense.
“Please wake up, please be okay. I love you, please don’t die Y/N,” he suddenly felt small tears gathering in his eyes as he stood up quickly to refresh the cloth that he was using to clean the burn.
He felt his hidden feelings begin to pour out of his mouth. He couldn’t handle the strain seeing you like this was having on his emotions.
He brought the cloth back, but this time he turned you over slightly so he could place it on your face. Your eyes were still shut tightly, not showing any indication of opening.
Chishiya ran the fingers of his other hand along your cheek, tapping softly on your skin, hoping that you would wake up from the physical contact. He felt desperate. He has never felt this helpless before, not even in games.
He allowed his few tears to fall down his cheek, lifting your head and pressing his forehead against yours. “Please wake up, we have to go. Just wake up and I’ll take care of you,” he mumbled out with shaky breaths.
He didn’t know what else to do. He could do nothing but hope.
A few minutes passed with Chishiya just holding you and pressing the cold cloth onto your face, trying to make you open your eyes. And eventually you did.
Chishiya breathed in a huge sigh of relief when he saw your eyes flutter open slowly, dazed and confused. He smiled and kept the cloth pressed to your face, caressing your cheek with his thumb.
“Oh, thank god,” he breathed out, wrapping his arm around your shoulder and bringing you into his chest for a close hug. You groaned loudly at the contact as Chishiya accidentally placed his hand on your wound.
“Chishiya, be careful,” you rasped out against his chest. He flinched away immediately and apologized.
“Come on, let’s get you cleaned up,” he said, lifting you up under your arms again. You groaned, not being able to stand up on your own yet. Chishiya kept you close to his chest as you leant against him.
He managed to clean you up with you leaning most of your body weight on him. He helped you wash out your mouth and clean your teeth to get rid of the taste of vomit and reapplied the bandage that had fallen off your wound. He did it all with such care and concern, being afraid of hurting you or overwhelming you with anything.
“Aren’t you supposed to be at the games?” you asked after you had finished rinsing your face.
“I noticed you weren’t at the lobby when Hatter called everyone, so I ran to your room and found you,” he answered, fixing your hoodie on your back from when he had to lift it to clean your injury.
“So, everyone’s gone?” you asked with a worried expression. Chishiya nodded, leaning on the sink next to you to check your face to see if you were alright.
“But if they find us, they’ll mark us as traitors!” you exclaimed, fear filling your head.
Chishiya placed his index finger on your lips to shush you. “Shh, only if they can hear us. We can just stay in here and be quiet, and hopefully no one suspects that we’re missing,” he said, smiling to calm you down.
You searched his eyes for any uncertainty but chose to let it go and just listen to him. “Okay.”
You both sat side by side on the floor of your small bathroom, Chishiya running his hand up and down your arm to keep your anxiety away. After a while of comfortable silence, you spoke up.
“Thanks, Chishiya, for helping me. If it weren’t for you, I’d still be lying on the ground next to a pile of my own puke,” you laughed at yourself.
Chishiya giggled. “It’s okay. I care about you Y/N, I couldn’t just leave you there.”
You looked at him with sparkling eyes, being taken back by his statement. “Really?” you asked, not believing him.
He smiled lovingly and caressed your cheek with his fingers. “Of course, I’d do anything if it was to help you.”
You thought you would have a cute moment together, but that flew out the window when Chishiya slapped you lightly across the cheek. Not enough to hurt you, but enough to bring a shocked expression onto your face.
“But next time, tell me when you’re hurt instead of trying to hide it from me like an idiot! You really think you’d be able to hide something like this from me?” he scolded you like a mother, but you giggled at his reaction.
“Yeah, I’ll tell you next time. Why did I ever think I could keep something from someone with an intelligent mind like yours,” you teased, leaning closer to his face.
Chishiya raised his eyebrows. “Hm, thanks, I guess? Not sure if that was a compliment or if you’re poking fun at me.”
You chuckled. “Take it however you want,” you whispered. You finally closed to space between you, allowing your lips to clash against his. Chishiya let out a shocked sound, but quickly melted against you and accepted your kiss.
You both sat on the floor of your bathroom, moving your mouths together while Chishiya tried hard to place his hands on you without touching your burn mark. You appreciated his care, but he ended up having to awkwardly place them on your upper arms, rubbing up and down them slowly.
You pulled away first, making Chishiya chase your lips as you moved away, making you giggle. “There’s my thank you gift,” you said cheekily, leaning away from him and back into your seating position.
Chishiya pouted at you. “That’s it? That was barely a kiss!” he argued, trying to move closer to you, wanting more of your affection.
“Chishiya, your tongue was in my mouth. I think that clarifies as a kiss,” you stated, placing your hand on his mouth and pushing him away gently. “Maybe let down that tough guy persona more often and take care of me, maybe then you’ll get more kisses.”
Chishiya leaned back and frowned. “Fine, but don’t expect this to be the norm now. I’m not going to let you control my personality just for a bit of affection.”
Well, that was a lie.
Author’s Note: Every Chishiya fanfic I’ve written has had some sort of angsty moment in it 😂 this man is going through it

Prompt Anne and Marcy comforting Sasha about her parents divorce
A pebble skipped across the peaceful surface of a pond, disturbing the stillness into ripples.
Skip, skip...plop.
Sasha Waybright stood and stared at the spot where the pebble had sunk for a few moments, before she bent down and picked up another one.
She imagined all her emotions draining out of her and going into the smooth stone. Then she drew her arm back, and - with all the strength she could muster - she threw.
Skip, skip, skip...plop.
A sudden, irrational wave of rage washed over her. Without looking back, she snapped, "What are you two being so quite for?"
She didn't need to turn to know that Anne and Marcy had tensed at her words, probably looking at each other with concern. This didn't comfort her; if anything, her irritation doubled.
"We just - um...we're enjoying the view," Marcy replied.
Sasha snorted. The 'view' wasn't anything new - they've been coming to the duck pond near the park for years now. But a part of her was glad for the lie. She didn't really feel like dealing with any more honesty, not from herself or anyone else.
"Well, you don't have to enjoy it from back there," she said. "Unless you're scared about getting your ankles wet."
No answer came, but she heard the shifting of gravel as her two best friends walked towards her. When they reached her side, she didn't look at either one. Still, she could feel the weight of Anne's concerned gaze.
Sasha bit the inside of her lip, regret joining her rage. She hadn't actually planned to tell them about her parent's divorce. It wasn't even a big deal. Whatever, they were seperating. Not something surprising, not if you actually knew them. They've been divorced for a long time; now it was just being made official.
But today her mom had finally moved out. Sasha didn't even know where, exactly. And she didn't care, really.
Nonetheless, her chest had felt uncomfortably tight and there'd been an annoying lump in her throat and her temper was shorter than usual and Anne's parents must've told Anne something about the divorce, because she'd kept glancing at Sasha, worried, and Sasha didn't need anyone to be worried about her, and she hadn't planned on saying anything, but then she found herself talking about it - scoffing and bitterly amused but still talking about it - and...
And then...nothing. Anne and Marcy were silent, their shock at the suddenness of the news clear. And Sasha had felt vulnerable, and the vulnerability made way to panic, so she'd blindly made her way to the edge of the pond, trying to keep her emotions and expressions under control.
Hence her aggression with every throw.
The silence still hung around them - Sasha could almost feel it pressing against her skin, dense with unspoken implications, and her discomfort rose.
"You guys can stop being weird," she declared. "It's not like anything has changed, so...stop."
Anne leaned down and scooped up a pebble of her own, but she didn't throw it. "Are you sure?"
For the first time in ten minutes, Sasha looked at her friend. She was glaring. "Yes, I'm sure, Anne. Honestly, you guys are acting like your parents are the ones getting divorced."
This time, Sasha got to see them exchange their worried looks. It lasted for only a fraction, but was enough to make her roll her eyes.
"Well," Marcy piped in. "As long as you're sure."
"I am."
"Alright."
"Alright."
Anne tossed her pebble. It skipped only once. "But, like, you can be sure about another thing."
"Oh, yeah?" Sasha kept her tone uninterested. "Like what?"
It was Marcy who answered. "That we're here for you."
Sasha stayed quite. In the face of safety in vulnerability, words eluded her.
Anne picked up another stone. "How do you make them go so far anyways, Sash?"
Sasha blinked, momentarily caught off guard by the change in topic, but it didn't matter, because Marcy was responding before she could.
"Ooo, I've actually read something about this! Alright, so basically, two key forces act on a skipping stone: gravity, which pulls it down, and lift, the reactive force of the water, which pushes the stone up each time it hits the surface. If the lift force is greater than the force of gravity then the stone bounces up; otherwise it sinks."
The rest of Marcy's explanation was lost on Sasha; she was preoccupied with watching them, watching the way Marcy gestured excitedly, the way Anne obviously was trying so hard to keep up with her speedy rambling but looking a little confused and lost. She seemed baffled that something as simple as stone skipping had so much science behind it, but of course it did - since it was Marcy talking about it, of course it did.
For the first time in days, a genuine smile grew on Sasha's face. It was small, it was unintentional, but it was genuine. And it was because of them, because they were there for her, because they didn't push, because they were talking about something as dumb as stone skipping with so much care.
Thank you, Sasha almost said.
"You just toss it," she said instead, interrupting Marcy. "Here, let me show you."
Another pebble was chosen for sacrifice. Sasha stuck her tongue out as she focused. This time, there was only careful aim behind her throw.
It skipped once, twice...five times.
"Dude!" Anne exclaimed, impressed.
Sasha grinned.
They spent the rest of the afternoon tossing pebbles, seeing who could get the most skips. Marcy won (science reigned victorious), but Sasha didn't mind. And she didn't mind that Anne held her hand while they looked for what Marcy deemed 'good skipping stones', or that Marcy leaned on her, breathless with laughter when Anne got startled by an unusually agitated duck. She didn't mind that their ankles did get wet, the consequence of being too close to the shallow edges.
And when they got bored and wandered off, Sasha didn't mind that they stood on either side of her, arms linked as they walked. The tightness in her chest slowly faded, until it was replaced by something much lighter, and she realized that her parents could do whatever the hell they wanted; she had her girls, and nothing would tear them apart.
Not as long as she could help it.

- it breaks your heart because you knew he's not in a condition to be in a relationship again
- one day Naoakira asked you if you wanted to come to visit his wife's grave you said yes
- after you arrived you light up the candle and clapped your hands twice and pray in front of her grave
- After you finished your praying you let Naoakira do his praying
- after he clapped his hands he spoke
- "Tsubaki, I hope you're doing well. I'm feeling better since I met [YN]. [YN] is just like you, kind, generous, not afraid to speak for themselves. But they're also different in their own way. Tsubaki,......."
- you couldn't hear what he said next but you saw the candle light dancing around
- "Ah! Tsubaki is smiling! Look!"
(AN: I saw this in Barakamon, if the flame is moving even though there’s no wind, it means the spirit has heard your pray and is smiling, if I remember it correctly)

- "what did you say?"
- "that I would like to start a relationship again.....with you. I’m sorry that it took a while"

- CRASH
- "I take my words back..."
- you rushed to help Yohei but when suddenly he pulled you into a hug
- 'did he really just knock over the plant just to get my attention?'

- you didn't pay attention to it because you thought he wrote the book's title to add it on his Book List because he had already read a LOT of books
- "Hey...[Y/N]-san.."
- "I told you to drop the honorific, you don't have to be so formal"
- "I don't understand what it meant...."
- " ah... ok let me see"
- he handed the book to you and you noticed the paper from before that said
- 'Do you want to go out with me?'
- you closed the book " Well, it means that you want to be my boyfriend and you're probably too shy to say it directly. And yeah, I'd love to go out with you" you smiled at him
- and Shiki hid his red face and muttered a small " thank you"

- you heard the person slowly going to your room and when he opened the door you threw the apple at him

- "right? Just because they're the best in our group that doesn't they have to act like that"
- you felt like tearing up as they continued trash talking you and Nayuta also heard the things they said
- he confronted them and asked them why they would say such things then they started to start an argument
- you tried to calm them down but then you saw one of them raised their fist and you knew that they wanted to hurt Nayuta
- you stopped them by catching his wrist before his clenched fist could touch Nayuta's
- "Do NOT think about it"
- your grip tightened and he pulled his hand away
- when they were out of sight you turned to Nayuta
- "That was close...you know you could've been badly injured if I wasn't there"
- "yeah but you're here, right? I know that you would protect me. You're just like Aniki, but that doesn't mean I won't try to defend you guys. Both of you are important to me"
- when he finished his sentence he close the gap between you and kissed you on the cheek
- "would you go out with me?"

- you turned around and walked to them
- "Mind if i join?"
- "Nah, not at all"
- but when you sat down Yohei stood up and whispered something to Iori which made Iori laugh nervously
- you tilted your head in confusion and asked what Yohei just said to him
- but he just dodged the question
- "ye wanna drink somethin’? heard from Saimon that ye can hold yer alcohol better than yer brother, haha"
- you just went along with it because you know that if he decided not to tell you that it won't be easy to get it out from him
- minutes passed and both of you stopped talking and just drinking
- "Ye know? I never knew that Yohei had a younger sibling...and I think I know why he didn't even mentioned it from the first place..."
- "because he doesn't want me to get hurt? I knew about it, well more like I assumed because he often got home with scars..."

- you met with Zen even less and you were convinced that he could care less about it because it's not like he stayed to spend time with the two of you because of you but Yume
- which made you kinda sad thinking that you're only a meaningless friend of him
- after you finished for today you decided to visit the park a bit because you really need to let the stress out
- when you arrived at the park you saw a familiar face
- "Zen?"
-" [YN], hello!"

- you hum in response
- "why do I always get distracted whenever you're around...like....I have this weird feeling in my stomach I don't know how to describe it...."
- "I-.....I also feel the same thing...."
- before you could say something else Reo popped out from behind the bookshelf and screamed "OMG [YN] FEELS THE SAME WAY!!! I TOLD YOU THEY WOULD BE A COUPLE!!!!"

OH BESTIE FOR PROMPTS!!! How about some platonic “I love you more than all the stars in the sky” becuz i can’t write rn but I really love this :)))
yknow, I debated this a Lot more than I thought I would for such a simple prompt, but here is the final accumulation of my thoughts on the topic of Stars! (also quick tw for mentions of blood and death, since this is part of my ghost hunters au!)
the night sky had always looked the same to sasha, every night she would stare up into the ever expanding universe and wonder what it was that marcy had been able to see. "see, sash! he's right there!" she would giggle, waving her arms around a certain point, connecting stars like dots, but sasha had never seen it.
maybe that's what happens when your dead. you stop seeing things properly.
"y'know what? i don't think i'm cut out for stargazing," sasha has replied one night. it hadn't been long since they'd died, maybe a few days since she'd woken up in that forest, surrounded by a numbing coldness and the stench of blood seeping into every avaliable crevice.
marcy and her had left anne a few hours before. she didn't know they were dead, they didn't want her to know, so they'd said they were going home, but circled back to the park.
"don't be silly, anyone can stargaze," marcy had said gently, turning to look at sasha with that soft smile that would probably send her heart racing had she been alive.
"what? even ghosts?" she asked with a roll of her eyes.
"well, we can see, right?"
"yeah, yeah I guess we can," sasha nodded, tilting her had back to look at the sky again.
"there you go! that's really all you need," marcy sighed happily, taking sasha's cold hand in her own. swinging their arms in-between them as they stood under the night sky.
"when i was alive, i had been saving up for a telescope," marcy said after a while, her voice carrying a sadness sasha hated.
"really?" sasha asked, pulling her eyes away from one of the stars to look at marcy.
with a nod, marcy faced sasha, her eyes welling with silver tears, though they would never fall, ghosts can't cry. "yeah. i'd asked my parents for one last year, but they forgot my birthday, so anne and i decided to start saving up for one." there was a wistful smile on her face as she spoke, one that made sasha's non-existent heart twist.
"i'm sorry, marmar," sasha whispered, unsure of what else to say.
"it's alright, not your fault i died," she chuckled, wiping her eyes with her free hand.
"still, you deserved to see the stars up close."
"maybe, but then i wouldn't have met you," marcy mumbled after a few minutes. "and i'm so glad i met you, sash."
"we're dead, marce," sasha replied, her voice cracking.
"i know, and its the worst, but at least we're together, right?" when sasha looked over, marcy's pale eyes were wide and the smile on her face wobbled, but she was trying. "god, to think i met one of my best friends after i died," she cried, taking in a sharp breath to stop the sob in the back of her throat.
"well, at least you had anne" sasha swallowed the lump rising in her chest. marcy tilted her head to the side in confusion, and sasha let out a weak laugh. "i think you were my first friend, like proper friend." and god, how pathetic did that sound, sasha waybright, once the most popular girl in school, admitting that marcy was her first friend. though, it wasn't like there was anyone else to hear it, so with that knowledge, she didn't mind saying it out loud. "so, i only met my best friends after i died," she ended with a choked laugh, turning to face marcy fully and grabbing her other hand.
"its weird how the universe works, huh?" marcy giggled, her eyes shooting up to the sky. "there are so many stars out tonight, sash."
"you know i love you, marcy," sasha had said gently, not looking away from marcy's face. "more than all the stars in the sky."
