Take a Break - P.G
Not me writing my first ever shot in Tumblr while having a mental block from all my exams at Uni and how hard they are.
Anyways, English is not my first language but I try and do my best. Hope you enjoy!
-------------------
Tumblr media
"Amor, I'm home." Your boyfriend's voice rang through the house "¿Amor, estás aquí?"
You could hear the sound of his training bag hitting the floor and it made you extremely happy but still ignored it.
Nothing was going the way you wanted. And that didn't make you happy, at all.
Waking up this morning without him by your side, wasn't the best way to wake up, you can add up the fact you were exhausted, especially since all you've been doing at College was exams, essays, simulations, more exams and more essays.
Sighing once more, you typed away the result of the Boole equation you've been doing for the past half hour
"¿Amor?" His voice came once more "Ya llegué del entrenamiento"
You knew about it, he texted you. Twice. One, when he was done and the other, when him, along with Pedri, who was once more, his ride, were on their way, to yours. And you saw it. But you left him on read.
You couldn't think anything else than numbers, precisely 0's and 1's.
You groaned when you saw another point in your exam. You've been doing this ever since you woke up, only making some coffee and going at it.
"Baby" His voice sounded closer and closer each time but you didn't care. You needed to be done with this as soon as possible before the time runs out. "Amor"
You felt him before you heard him.
His hands were on your shoulders, his chin rested on top of your head quickly leaving a kiss there.
You didn't realized you let out a big sigh when you felt his hands on your body. The tensed back, was slowly giving into him. Soon, meeting his hard chest
"Hola" He said moving his hands so they were at your waist and his chin on your shoulder, moving his head a bit so he could kiss your cheek lovingly
"Mhm" You hummed not taking your eyes away from the screen.
Your hands stopped typing, looking for his and intertwining them once you found them, slowly analizing the other questions
"How has been your day, love?"
"Mhm" You heard Pablo sigh, before detaching one of your hands and closing the laptop "No, no, no! What are you doing? Pablo, I need to finish that!"
"You weren't paying attention. I asked you, how has been your day?" He let go of you and turned the chair around making you look at him
"Sorry" You said taking a deep breath and slowly letting it out. "I'm a bit stressed. Can't get this shitty exam done, I've been doing it since I woke up. And I don't even have half of it done. And it's due to 23:55"
"That sucks" Pablo said as you nod inmediately at his words. You were left in silence for a few minutes "Have you eaten?" You looked up at him "Honestly"
You closed your eyes and sighed for the hundred time, slowly shaking your head no.
"Baby" Pablo began talking but you shook your head even more, cutting him off.
"I know, I know, but I really don't want to hear it, Pablo" You say slowly "I just want to snap my fingers and have all of my homework done"
Or the semester, it sounds good. Even better, the whole degree.
"I know you want to. I want it too. It's doesn't make me happy knowing my girl is under stress and feeling unhappy because some rude professor" You hummed with a light smile on your face.
His girl. You loved it.
You leaned into his chest, wrapping your arms around him and snuggling your face into the crock if his neck, smelling the particular soap smell along with a bit of his cologne
"Already showered?" He nods acepting you in his embrace.
"Wanted to come home and just snuggle with you" That made you smile but soon it was cut off by a yawn "Still sleepy?"
"No tienes idea de cuanto, amor" You replied pulling away from him a little. Your hands going to your face "I'm so done"
"C'mon, amor. Don't say that"
"I really can't understand shit from this, Pablo. I'm just gonna let sink in the fact, I'm going to fail this exam"
"No, no, no. You're the smartest girl I know, bebé. You can totally do this. Show that ass who's the boss"
"Not me, definitely" Pablo sighs after hearing your words
"You always say stuff like this but end up killing it"
"I don't think this is one of those times, cariño" You sigh turning around to open your laptop but Gavi pulls a hand on top of it "Please, let me just open it and send whatever this thing I have here"
"You need to take a break, love, but I know you can do this. Don't give up"
"I won't take a break meanwhile I haven't submitted this, Pablo"
"But you will"
"No, I won't"
"Sí, lo harás"
That's all he needed to say to pick you up and carry you towards the couch, trapping you in between the leather material of the couch and his strong arms.
"Gavi" You whined "I'm just tired, I have done within' yesterday and today a total of two essays, two simulations and three exams, all I want is end this one soon. It's better if I do it now"
"No" He shakes his head "I know you'll be kicking yourself if you do this later, it a stressed-you who's talking. Not the super smart and applied girl I know and love. I know your exams have only one time avaliable submitment. If you load it now you won't be able to correct it later"
"I won't correct that thing ever again! I won't even look at the result! ¡Será un 0 por el pecho!" (It'll be a zero straight to my chest)
"You're stressed. You're blocked. That's all you have. Relax"
"I really can't relax, right now; Pablo. I-"
"you haven't kissed me welcome" He cut you off "Where's my kiss?"
"Pablooo" You whined once more "Let me go and load it"
"I give up" He says "I'll let you" You mentally clapped and danced of joy "...But give me my kiss first"
You fought the need of rolling your eyes.
"Will you-?"
"I will let you go and submitt el jodido exam if you kiss me"
A kiss from your boyfriend never sounded bad. So, you smiled lightly and leaned up a bit and kissed him
But you should've known better.
Gavi's kisses where everything to you, they make you weak, you loved feeling his lips against your own.
So, what started as one kiss, turned into two, three and four and out of nowhere a full on lovingly makeout session was happening.
You don't know how long you were into this but you weren't regretting it.
Feeling loved and taken care of by Pablo, was the best feeling in the world for you. You knew he was so in the right but your hard nature was fighting it so bad.
Until you couldn't take it.
His hands gripping your sides lovingly, hands moving up to your (his) hoodie and giving light touches to your naked back, meanwhile, yours danced across his clothed covered back, arms, chest and ended up circling your arms around his neck.
"I love you so much, mi princesa hermosa" He says against my lips pecking them repeatedly before full kissing you once more
"I love you too, mi niño precioso" You whispered in between kisses gaining a smile from him.
The kissing session returned for a bit, a few minutes actually, when you abruptly separated from him.
"What the-?"
"Cállate, por favor"
You closed your eyes thinking of something before you opened them with a tinkle inside them
"Get up, get up, get up, get up!"
"¿Pero qué pasa, mi vida?" (What's wrong, mi vida?)
"It's making sense now!" You yelled happily almost tripping over Pablo's legs causing you to yell a bit
"¡Cuidado, nena!" (Look out, baby!)
"¡Estoy bien, estoy bien! I'm good!" You say running up to your laptop, pencil and stuffs to finish your exam.
Meanwhile, Pablo walked over and sat in front of you, watching you with a smile on his face and slay your exam when half an hour ago you were so close to giving up.
Thank god, he knows you too well.
Let's just say, he ended up chanting in your face a big 'I TOLD YOU SO' when you told him your calification.
Both of you are so happy and in love. You cannot imagine a life where Pablo isn't there with you.
And he thought the same way.

Friday night and i'm all alone.
Sirius black x fem!reader

warnings: eventual smut, handsy Sirius, sexual tension, nerd reader, underage, drinking, smoking, virgin, first time, fingering, neck kisses, eating reader out, doing this near friends, taking advantage, reader gets drunk, Sirius is aware.
summary: y/n's book and cup of coffee isn't enough to keep her satisfied tonight. There's an itching bite of loneliness that crawls up her back, one that yearns for someone to just be in her presence. So she finally decides to accept the invitation James had sent the friend group a while back to crash at his place this Friday in hopes Sirius would be there. Things get weird between her and Sirius when she arrives. Alcohol is involved, panties are off and there's a bunch of teenage angst roaming the air tonight, everything which should've rung alarms in her head but with Sirius all over her, how could she complain?
The muffled sound of rain, the random channel that was playing on the telly, probably a sitcom with the amount of fake crowd laughs there were. A book in her hand and a cup of warm coffee. The night should've been set perfect for y/n. Her mom was even out of the flat tonight. So she was left all alone in the London flat she'd called home. Away from hogwarts for Christmas meant not seeing her friends for a couple of months which she was usually fine with, ecstatic about even. But this evening was static and lonely. Not the type of comfortable alone time you'd beg to have every now and then, but this empty feeling growing bigger and bigger by every moment another fake crowd laugh was being dispersed on the television screen. She felt her usual self which would just get lost in the book she was reading, become unfocused and panicky. Why did she feel like she had to talk to someone? Touch someone, just contact with anyone. Hell.
The low buzz of her phone shook her out of her depressing thoughts with the notification reading,
James (douchebag):
gathering my place tonight? 11pm good? Bring your own alcohol
Oh shit. Was this real? Had James really invited her over to his house? This was the first time she'd received an invitation from James due to him not really trusting her ever since she joined the friend group, despite the rest of them convincing him y/n was trustable and safe. So she jumped with glee (as much as one could on a sofa with a cup of coffee in their hands.)
The time was 9pm, and the rain had simmered down to a mere drizzle. The pitter patter of the drops still evident outside making the atmosphere fuzzy and warm. An hour had passed since the text and Y/n had been contemplating whether or not she should attend his house party because she was a hundred percent sure quite a few people she didn't know were going to be there. However the thought of Sirius possibly being there overtook her mind. Would he finally notice her as cool if she went? Would he even be there?
She sighed before making her way to the vanity that sat dull and dusty in her room. The lack of makeup she owned was embarrassing to say the least, so she gathered whatever makeup was left unexpired or even intact and wiped the dust off the mirror with the sleeve of her sweater. She looked dead straight into her own soul wondering why she was making such a big deal out of going to a party, was she really that lame? Why did one of her eyes seem wonky or why was her nose not pretty enough. She quickly dismissed those thoughts by slapping her face with both her hands waking her up from whatever dark thoughts that came in.
"Okay. It's gonna be okay, you look fine. Right?" Y/n grimaced at her own words and quickly applied a layer of gloss to distract herself. She did her makeup naturally with heavy mascara just enough that it would probably smudge underneath her eyes, a soft layer of eyeliner accentuating the inner and outer corners of her eyes, concealer to cover up her dark circles and a soft hint of cherry lip balm caressing the buds of her lips finishing her look.
She'd decided to wear something she was comfortable with to the party and looked in the vanity one last time. "Alright. Alright... Hey Sirius. How are ya? Did you hear about longbottom getting a nasty snake bite during quidditch the other day? I mean crazzzy right. Ugh." She frowned at her attempt to whizz up a convo between her and Sirius "Sooo... parties am i right? Fuck this." Y/n sighed before texting her mom to let her know she'd be out for the night.
mom aka top G : Finally you're getting your bottom out the house!
She rolled her eyes at the reply.
The time was now 11:15pm and y/n was positively running late. She'd been ready for around 30 minutes now but was stalling due to nerves. She wondered if she should've gotten all dressed up after all. Maybe she should've just stayed home. It wasn't too late, not like she was stood right in front of James' parents front door.. Oh right, she was.
So she took in a deep much needed breath of the crisp air before removing her hands out of the pockets of her black puffer jacket proceeding to knock once. No answer. So she knocked twice for good measure. She could feel her nose get redder by the minute as she stood outside like an idiot in the painfully cold London air, so she knocked again this time the hardest she could, clearly transferring a bit of annoyance into the knock too.
"James?" y/n yelled
"Lily?" she yelled again
A light shadow grazed past the curtains too blurred to be visualised.
finally her face was greeted with the warmth of the inside of the house.
"Y/n! You made it! I'm so sorry i didn't open the door earlier, Sirius spotted you from the window just recently." Lily said with a sweet smile on her face. She was dressed sweet and softly , wearing a mini dress that was white and innocent yet hugged her curves perfectly, her hair was tied into a messy bun and she wore a silver heart necklace that adorned her neck beautifully, y/n was sure james gifted her that, a long with a small failed covered hickey that sat right below her ear.
"No no, it's okay Lils, I love being stranded in the cold."
"Oh shut up." Lily chuckled whilst grabbing y/n by her shoulders and pushing her into the warm home.
As she entered, the sound of soft rock was being played in the background, surprisingly not too loud. The house reeked of alcohol, something vodka and maybe a few fruity notes too, the place was filled with teenagers chatting and dancing, some even smoking. She wasn't going to lie, this was the coolest she's felt in a while, being surrounded by cool looking people. There were several familiar faces and some unknown but sure she'd seen before. She was quickly brought back to the present as she heard a voice call out for Lily.
"Lily flower, who was at the door?" Called the rowdy sounding James from an unbeknownst direction.
This was good y/n thought. Wherever James was, Sirius was probably at too.
"Only the life of the party!"
"Lils don't say that!"
"Shhh it's for comedic effect."
Y/n followed Lily around like a lost puppy dog, feeling a bit insecure at what she was wearing. All the other girls who were there were dressed normally and sexily just like one should when invited to a bloody James Potter party.
"Ah! There's my favourite little nerd!" James yelled, clearly drunk whilst swinging both his arms around y/n's shoulders carelessly.
"Don't call her that." Remus spoke softly from an armchair he'd been reading a book in whilst sipping on something alcoholic probably.
"Why! I mean its true isn't it? You little little... little nerdy nerdo" James teased before pincing y/n's nose a little too hard leaving a dust of red on the tip.
"Okay that's enough of you James." Lily sighed before attempting to drag him away from y/n having a mini arguement with him in the process.
"Right, sorry bout' James y/n. But i must say, i'm quite surprised to see you here, everything alright at home?" Remus joked with a softness that could melt any girls heart.
"Merlin Remus, just because i'm at a stupid party doesn't mean i've gone insane." Y/n rolled her eyes
"Pffft, but you sure look insane" Called the familiar voice of... Sirius fuck.
He sat prettily on the sofa that was diagonally across from Remus, arms swung lazily on the sides, one hand adorning a ciggarette whilst his hair was sat messily on his head, slightly in his eyes.
Did he get a haircut? Y/n thought to herself before admiring how his lashes were so long they pratically brushed his undereye or how his cheekbones and chin were so sharp they could practically cut her up.
"Hmm, Y/n?" Sirius called out with a quirk in his eyebrows
Y/n took in a shaky breath before letting it out slowly trying to compose herself.
"Yea?"
"I was just joking by the way, you look" he hessitated
"You look nice."
Did he think she was insulted by his earlier comment and was trying to make up for his behaviour by giving her a fake compliment?
Whatever.
"Thanks. You look nice too." Y/n gave him a tight smile before making her way to sit beside him on the sofa he was at.
"Sorry. Its just i never see you dress like this, took me off gaurd was all."
Dress like what?
"What d'you mean?"
"You know... the skirt and boots, why haven't you taken your jacket off?" Sirius trailed before taking another whiff of his cigarrette.
"Ciggs aren't good for you, you know?"
"Shit, really? Damn i thought they could cure depression!" Sirius faked a shocked look. "God, you're so infuriating."
"Aren't you hot?"
Y/n's face got red.
"Like from the jacket"
Oh. "N-no im fine." Y/n said as she felt her chest get stickier by the second.
The truth was, she didn't want to reveal what was underneath, because she knew he'd tease her for the lack of top she was wearing.
"Ugh, must i do everything for you?" Sirius said before placing his cigarette between his lips to give his hands freedom towards y/n. He zipped down the zipper before gently removing the material from her skin, struggling a bit due to the sweat that stuck to her like glue.
"Hm and here you were, saying you weren't hot."
The room was semi empty at this point, Remus walking out a few minutes ago to get another beverage whilst others were left either making out or just stoned out of their minds.
"Well, im not." Y/n stubbornly said before allowing Sirius to remove her jacket, nervous on his reaction towards her choice of clothing.
She wore a long sleveed black laced top, the neck cut low into a V which was just enough to reveal her chest. Several necklaces doing the job to attempt and cover the bare skin. It sat slightly cropped above waist, only showing a peek of her skin but just enought to get Sirius feeling hot.
He attempted to discreetly eye her outfit, before almost dropping the ciggarette that was dampened from being in his mouth for a bit.
"Well, wasn't so hard now was it." Sirius said before returning to his original position.
Y/n could sense the slight tension that was built from the contact of his lean hands on her skin, making her let out a breath she didn't know she was keeping.
"Why dont you take a whiff" Sirius asked whilst handing the ciggarette to her.
"Nah, i care about my lungs unlike certain people"
"Oh come on, get that stick out your ass, one whiff won't damage your fragile little lungs."
"I dont know Sirius-"
"Trust me, it won't sting."
"Fine."
"Here i'll do it for you."
Sirius carefully lifted y/n's chin placing the cigarette in between her lips.
"Now breath through your mouth"
"You're doing so well"
The sight made an impending erection grow in his pants, the sight of her mascara smudged and lip stick stained on the ciggarette was enough to turn him on. The way her eyes were filled with innocence while he was corrupting her.
Y/n coughed out the smoke before rubbing her lips with her fingers.
"That was awful!" she laughed with a sour expression
"Hey, atleast you can say you've smoked once in your life now." Sirius chuckled before resting his arms at the sides of his figure.
His erection had become painful at this point, the way the cutting of her shirt was low enough he could get a hint at her lacey bra. He needed to snap out of it, this was his friend for goodness sake.
By now, Remus had entered the room with a new drink in his hand and a couple of lipstick stains on his cheek.
"Remus getting bitches? Thats a new discovery" Sirius teased before running his fingers carelessly through his locks, taking another whiff out his cigarette effortlessly before blowing the smoke in y/n's face making her slap his thigh in annoyance. However, she didn't move her hand from his thigh.
She felt isolated and was in need of any kind of touch, so the warmth of his thigh surprised her more than it should've. She wished she could just take his hand right then and there to find some sort of comfort within him after all her time alone.
This sent waves of butterflies to his stomach. Suddenly the room turned into the sahara desert meanwhile turning his dick to brick. How could such simple touch make him weak to unsettling degrees.
He cleared his throat trying to compose himself before he just couldn't take her unintentionally teasing any further.
"Have you uhm" "Have you ever tried alcohol before?" Sirius inquired. The real question he would've asked if he wasn't such a pussy would be Have you ever had a one night stand before with a friend who clearly has feelings for you. The question was too direct but he desperately wanted to know. His dick aching at the contact so close to it.
Y/n shifted in her seat removing her hand from his thigh.
"Well.. dont laugh at me. But i haven't." y/n said as she went slightly pink at her unexperienced self.
"Hm, then lets start small shall we." Sirius said before getting up and giving a hand out for y/n to take.
"B-but Sirius i dont know if thats a good idea-"
"Oh be quiet" He laughed before rolling his eyes whilst grabbing both her wrists
He dragged her to the kitchen, his lean hand big in hers whilst he occasionally looked back to be met with a dissapointed looking y/n.
"Why the mad face pup?" Sirius said before lightly slapping her cheek as they arrived in the kitchen, something david bowie playing in the background now.
The nickname made y/n impendingly wetter than she already was at how much attention Sirius was giving her.
"C'mon, try this." Sirius said as he poured her a cup of an unknown beverage and handed it to her. The smell was familiar and pungent. Not something y/n would normally reach for, but chugged it down anyway.
The sight was unholy, the way the booze dribbled down her chin making a mess on her necklaces and chest sending a small twitch through sirius' boxers. After she was done chugging, her lipstick was smudged slightly below her lip and her mascara a bit runny due to the sting the alcohol gave her. Sirius just couldn't help but brush the front of his jeans to provide some kind of relief for his throbbing cock.
"Here, you got a lil' something under your mouth" Sirius used as an excuse to approach her up close whilst lightly rubbing his thumb below her parted lips, wiping the smudged lipstick away. Her eyes were glassy and her cheeks were red as she looked into his eyes. He tried to avoid eye contact because any more of it and he'd be a leaking mess.
"How bout' you Sirius?" Y/n hiccuped before swallowing hard
"Me? what about me?"
"You're not gonna take a shot?"
"Well.... Fuck it." He said as he watched her pretty eyes before chugging down a random glass filled with vodka, the sting making his throat cry for help.
Y/n had gone surprisingly giggly even after just one shot of something alcoholic which she didnt really know what it was, and this made Sirius think dark thoughts.
No i shouldn't take advantage of her. Fuck.
"We should play truth or dare!" Y/n yelled out hazily as she started rocking sirius' shoulders back and forth with force, as if he wasn't this intimidating figure she once saw but now a tiny teddy bear.
"Woahoho, calm down there pup." Sirius said as he steadied himself on her shoulders.
They were now inches apart eyes both glassy and filled with lust and tension that had been ignored.
"Truth or.... dare" Y/n said as she blinked slowly slightly slurring her words, lips curling slowly
How could such little alcohol have such a dire effect on her? Sirius thought to himself.
"Dare." Sirius said dead straight into her soul moving his hands further down to her waist.
"Ok" She breathed shakily "I dare you to tell Cara Sparklepants that you like her."
"Oh come on y/n what kind of dare is that." Sirius said annoyed as he removed his hands from her waist putting them on either side of his hips
"Well you chose it! So you have to do it now." Y/n said childishly as she threw her arms in the air carelessly
"Ok fine."
Sirius slowly approached Cara eyeing Y/n angrily as he did so.
"Hey Cara..."
A flustered Cara appeared as the conversation furthered making y/n wonder if Cara was the one with a crush on Sirius. Seemed like every damn girl in that school liked the boy.
An annoyed sirius returned with a middle finger in hand.
"Great now a random girl thinks i like her."
"Great job siri!" Y/n giggled before stumbling a little bit
"Hey, you alright? Your alcohol sensitivity's really fucking high." Sirius said concerned as he slung one of her arms over his shoulders.
*Hiccup* "What makes you think i ain't!" *hiccup*
"Yeap you're definitely not alright." Sirius concluded as he began to drag her body up to James' bedroom.
"Wait! You haven't even given me a truth or dare yet!" Y/n acclaimed as she pouted giving Sirius puppy eyes. This evidently made Sirius break in his pants, feeling a patch of wetness spur around his boxers.
"Ok fine, truth or dare y/n." Sirius said as he lead her into the bedroom that had been left unoccupied, couples making out either outside the door or by the bathroom.
"Dare." Y/n said devilishly as she dragged a finger down his chest all the way to the buckle of his belt lifting it swiftly, the alcohol taking over her system.
Sirius breathed shakily trying to conceal himself.
"I dare you...." He hesitated but continued knowing she wasn't sober. "I dare you to hide your panties somewhere in this room.. and i'll find it." Sirius said hesitantly as he began to eye her up and down. By now she'd been spread out on the bed clearly dazed and oblivious to what was happening.
"Hmmmph. Okay" Y/n said as she slowly removed her dampened panties. The sight made something ignite within Sirius, the shine of her underwear, had she been turned on this whole time too?
"Well close your eyes you doof" Y/n said whilst getting up from the bed
"Yea" Sirius breathed
Y/n had carefully placed her panties in her bra. Careful not to let the low cut of her shirt to reveal the material. She grinned cheekily before tapping sirius on the back.
"I'm done"
"Now where could they be" Sirius wondered whilst wandering the room.
It took him a solid 5 minutes before he realised a lacey material poking out the edge of her bra.
"Oh you little bastard."
"Hm?" Y/n asked with fake innocence
Sirius walked over to y/n with both his hands in his pockets carefully eyeing her in the process.
"May i?"
Y/n nodded before he slowly pulled the wet material from her bra, swinging it in front of her face.
"Well.. you didn't specify where i couldn't hide it." Y/n smiled before sitting at the edge of the bed
Sirius was beside her when she said "Do you like me Sirius?"
"I" "I- Of course i do." Sirius chuckled nervously before sitting beside her at the foot of the bed
"No as in." She breathed "As in do you like me as more than a... a friend." She said before her face turned pink in embarrassment.
"What do you think?" He said slowly whilst inching his hand closer to her thigh.
"I think you do." Y/n said as she eyed the evident bulge in his pants from all the unintentional teasing.
Fuck, sirius thought to himself
"I think you do too." He said whilst giving her dampened panties back to her.
"I forgot you had those." She chuckled before shoving it into her pocket.
"Not gonna put them back on?"
"No. This dare requires them to be off."
Sirius felt his stomach drop at the words. Cock twitching at the same time.
"I dare you......" "to show me how much you like me" Y/n said quietly as she took his lean long fingers in hers whilst guiding them towards her thighs.
"You sure about this?"
"Yes."
At that, sirius quickly took charge leaning in to kiss her softly.
She whimpered at the contact making his already rock hard erection even harder than it possibly could be.
He swiftly moved his hand up her thigh and under her skirt looking at her again for approval before she nodded with parted lips.
"Have you ever been fingered before?" Sirius asked with eye contact as he made his way to her inner thighs.
"N-no" y/n said whilst trying to compose herself under his touch, mouth already parted whilst soft pants were released
Sirius rubbed her inner thigh slowly before finding his way to her slick.
"Well i'm gonna show you how good i can make you feel." He said as he kissed her inner thigh
"Fuck you're so wet." He breathed shakily before spreading her folds slowly with his fingers.
Y/n let out an unholy moan, making sirius weaker in his knees.
He slowly slid one finger in and hissed at how tight she wrapped around him.
"You're so fucking tight." Sirius said as he pumped into her slowly. The sounds of wetness pooled around the room as he continued to finger fuck her, easily sliding in and out
He quickly removed his finger before signalling for her to move further up the bed. Sirius was now placed in between her thighs, mouth close to her cunt and hair in his eyes.
She quickly grabbed onto his locks making him release a low moan. He inserted his fingers back into her cunt this time making it two, while his thumbs slowly and painfully circled her clit.
"Fuck sirius, please." Y/n whimpered, eyes glassy at the arousal he was causing her.
"Please what?" He asked whilst looking her in her eyes, her thighs practically wrapped around his head.
"P-please"
"You're gonna have to use your words pup"
"Please g-go faster"
"Good girl." He said before removing his fingers causing her to whine loud. He quickly removed her pain by spreading her legs wider than they already were, before licking a wet stripe all the way up to her clit. Making her head lull back in pleasure.
"Fuck!"
"You taste so fucking good y/n." He said as he licked her clit in circles slowly rubbing the sides of her thighs. Her wetness was spread all over his chin and nose. The sight was enough to push y/n over her edge. The way his hair was slightly in his eyes, him keeping the eye contact as he went down on her making sure she was feeling good.
"You gonna come for me?" He asked as he made his kitten licks more intense
"Y-yes."
She screamed as a sudden finger was inserted into her pussy driving her over the edge, causing her to come all over his fingers and mouth.
"You taste amazing." Sirius said whilst licking her clean before he got up to caress her face.
"T-thank you Sirius." Y/n said shyly as she attempted to avoid eye contact.
"Hey beautiful"
"Look at me." Sirius demanded before holding her face in his hands.
"I hope i showed you how much i like you."

If there was one thing Gwendolyn had dreamed of since she was a child, it was of having a big wedding ceremony. Like the ones she read about in books or the fairy tales her mother used to tell her before bed.
She used to fantasize about where she wanted it to happen, who would be present, and she’d even draw what she wanted the dress to look like.
Of course, things didn’t exactly turn out as a young Gwendolyn had once imagined. For one, she didn’t imagine her wedding would take place in the Hells. Or that hundreds of thousands of fiends would be in attendance. And she’d never believe that the groom would be the archdevil supreme himself.
But most importantly, when Gwendolyn imagined herself getting married, she’d always believed her mother would be there, to walk her down the isle and help guide her through the day.
She also thought her friends would be there. But Gwen guessed that that’s what killing your companions get. The ones she hadn’t betrayed, who weren’t there when the fight happened, had also left her. The only one who remained had been Scratch.
Since the moment she had woken up, on the day of the wedding, Gwendolyn had felt lonely.
After she had eaten breakfast alone, since according to tradition, the couple wasn’t supposed to see each other yet, the servants had drawn her a bath and helped her wash herself. Then they dressed her, fixed her hair and were now finalizing putting makeup on her.
Scratch was laying at her feet, and every moment she got, she would pet him. At some point, when the servant attending her had left momentarily, she whispered to him. “Oh Scratch… I feel so alone. I wish Mother was here.”
As Gwen looked at herself in the mirror, she felt a sudden sadness. She was supposed to be surrounded by friends and family, she was supposed to be laughing and having fun. Instead, she was feeling lonelier than she had in years.
Not only that, but Gwen had another fear, one she hadn’t told Raphael about. While he was still at least half devil, she was mortal. Although she had spent some time in the Hells alongside him, understanding how ruling worked, she still feared that his, soon to be hers, subjects would reject her.
“You look beautiful, mistress.” One of the servants spoke, taking her out of her own head. Gwen turned to look at her, a young elven woman, and nodded her head in thanks. “Something wrong, mistress? You seem kind of sad.”
Gwen shook her head. “It’s…nothing. Just wedding jitters.” She gave the servant a tight smile. The elf didn’t seem convinced but decided to drop the topic. She walked over to her mistress, veil in hand.
Before the item could be placed on Gwen’s head, the tiefling raised a hand. “Wait. I have to go to relieve myself first.” She stood up from her chair, and various servants went after her, to hold her dress, but Gwen said “I’ll go alone.” She gathered her skirts and hurriedly left the room, Scratch following her.
As soon as she got out, Gwen looked around the hallway, and seeing nobody there, she opened up a portal. Before she walked into it, she turned to the dog. “Scratch, be a good boy and stay here. I’m just gonna go get some air and I’ll be back.” And then, she left.
Raphael’s day had gone as he had planned.
Everything was in order - the flowers, the music, the decoration - the guests had arrived on time and he looked great, having ordered a tailored garment for the occasion, shaved his beard and trimmed his hair.
Now, it was only a matter of time until the ceremony began. He waited in his room, sipping on wine. Everything was peaceful until Korilla burst into the room.
“We cannot find her.” The warlock said. Raphael raised an eyebrow and she explained. “I went to the mistress’ room, to bring her to the aisle, and when I got there, all her servants were saying she had gone missing.”
Raphael stood up, furious. “What? How come she left and nobody saw it?” Was his precious partner, the one who had betrayed her friends for him, running away? That couldn’t be. “Gather everyone. I want every corner of the Hells turned over until we find my runaway bride. In the meantime, go tell Mol to entertain the guests.” Korilla nodded and left to go after the others.
Raphael smashed the glass of wine he was holding. After everything they had gone through, she would dare leave him now, embarrassing him in front of his subjects?
No. He would not allow it. The wedding would happen, had she wanted to or not.
… Half an hour had passed, and he had no sight of where Gwendolyn could be. She had left no trace, whatsoever, and she was not to be found in any of the rooms she would normally be - the library, her room, the dining room or even the hellish gardens.
Raphael began to panic. How could a mortal such as she evade him in his own realm? He was so deep in thought, he hadn’t noticed Scratch’s presence until the dog licked his hand. He jumped back in surprise.
“Not now, Scratch.” He tried to shoo the dog away. Raphael had never liked dogs, but for Gwendolyn, he made an exception, considering how attached she was to him. He sighed and looked at the creature. “It seems that your owner has run away.”
At that, Scratch’s ears picked up and he wagged his tail. Then, he began to howl, almost as if he was trying to tell Raphael something. “What is it, boy? Would you happen to know where Gwendolyn is?” Scratch howled again and Raphael got an idea.
“Korilla, come quick.” He summoned the warlock. “I know where she is.”
Tahlia Gray had been buried in the gardens outside her home. To mark where she was, Gwendolyn had planted a couple of seeds of forget me nots, and although she hadn’t been there in years - as she was serving in the Hells as Raphael’s consort - the flowers had survived and were now in bloom.
Gwendolyn sat on the bench outside her home, the one that faced the flowers. Tears streamed down her face, as she spoke to herself. “I always thought this would be the happiest day of my life.” She sobbed. “Instead, I’m feeling more lonely than I ever could.” She walked towards the forget me nots and plucked one from the ground. “I wish you were here today, mama.”
Gwen stood there, clutching the delicate flower to her chest, when suddenly, a familiar voice spoke from behind her. “So this is where you’ve run off to.”
“Raphael.” She gasped as she turned around to face him, and immediately lowered her head.
“Gwendolyn.” He spoke, voice full of anger. “Are you trying to run away? To turn your back on me? You should know by now how foolish that is.” Raphael walked closer to her. “I will always come back to find you.”
“I…I didn’t mean to run away.” She said, quietly.
“Then what are you doing here?”
“I…” She turned her back to him. She didn’t want to admit to him how lonely and scared she was. “We’re not supposed to see each other yet. Mother always said it would bring bad luck.”
Raphael was about to reply when he heard her sob. At the mention of her mother, he began to piece together what could be happening.
“Gwen… tell me what is on your head.” He said in a softer voice. When she didn’t reply, he placed a hand on her shoulder, getting closer to her. “Please.”
That made the dam break. “I just feel so alone.” She turned around and looked up at him. Through her tear filled eyes, she could see how his gaze had softened. “This was supposed to be the happiest day of my life but everyone is dead. My mom is not here, she won’t get to walk me down the aisle or see me in a wedding dress.” Gwen stopped to sniffle.
“Tav, my friends and companions, they are gone and it’s all my fault. I don’t deserve to be here, getting married and becoming a wife to the Archdevil Supreme after all I’ve done
She took a deep breath. “And I’m so scared that I’m letting you, and all the other fiends down. Tav would have been a much better leader and consort than I ever will. They should be the ones having a happy life, not I!” Gwen put both of her hands in her face and cried.
Raphael’s eyes were furrowed. Although Gwen had expressed some guilt over what she had done years ago, but now he had realized the hole was much deeper. He wrapped his arms around her in a hug, allowing her to cry on his vest.
He caressed her head as he spoke. “Tav was an ungrateful, scheming, lying bastard who got what they deserve. They could have never reached your status. You have gotten where you are because you took destiny into your own hands and made your own path, that lead you to me.”
Raphael took her chin in his fingers and raised her head towards him. “Look at me. Tradition be damned. I would have not chosen you if you hadn’t proven yourself worthy every step of the way. I would not have come here, in the middle of nowhere to come and get my bride, if I didn’t think you were to be the one to rule besides me.” He looked at the flowers and then back at her.
“And even if your mother isn’t here today, you know how much she had loved you. You gave her the best years of her life.” Gwen nodded. “I’ll make this promise to you. As long as I live, you will never be alone.” Raphael finished his speech, grabbing both of her hands and kissing them, while looking at her mismatched eyes.
“Thank you.” Gwen finally said. “I’m sorry. I should have talked about this long before, and now I’ve ruined-”
He interrupted her. “You have ruined nothing, my dear.”
“But, you´re planning?” She looked at his vest.
He shook his head. “This day is as much about you as it is about me. Even if I’d prefer everything to be in order, exceptions can be made, especially if it is for you.”
“And your clothes…I messed them up, as I imagine my makeup is as well.”
“I am the King, my dear. I can magic those away.” He kissed her on the cheek. “Now, let us go. Your subjects wait for you.” Raphael offered his arm.
“Wait.” She turned around and grabbed a few more forget me nots. “This way mother will be with me.” Gwen smiled and took his arm, allowing themselves to return.
After cleaning themselves up, the ceremony proceeded with no more troubles.
Gwendolyn walked down the aisle alone with a bouquet of white roses, magnolias and forget me nots in hand. Her dress was grand and white, with golden embroidery. Raphael had protested due to the color, but they had come to an agreement - he could plan everything else as long as she chose how the dress would look like. A sheer white veil covered her face and Mol, who was now a young adult, was placed behind her, holding the train of the dress.
Once they reached the end, where Raphael was placed, Gwendolyn gave Mol the bouquet, and turned her attention towards him. He was quick to lift her veil up. Due to having no better person, Korilla had been chosen to officiate.
“Do you take this woman, Gwendolyn Gray, daughter of Tahlia Gray, the Hero of Baldur’s Gate, to be your wife?” Korilla said.
“I do.” Raphael answered with a smirk on his face, placing the ring on her finger.
“And do you take this man, Raphael, son of Mephistopheles, Archdevil Supreme, Lord of the Nine Hells, to be your husband.”
“I do.” Gwen smiled as she put the ring on his finger.
“Than I, Korilla Hearthflame, with the powers invested in me by Raphael, pronounce you husband and wife.”
Before the costumery kiss happened. Korilla had produced a cushion with a delicate tiara that much resembled the Crown of Karsus that Raphael wore.
He took the tiara in his hands. “Kneel.” He commanded and Gwen did so.
“With this, I make you not only my wife, but my consort, my partner, the one who will rule besides me, the one true Queen of the Nine Hells.” His voice boomed across the room. “Are you prepared to bear the burden of the crown?”
“Yes, my King.” She said. Then, she felt the tiara be placed on her head, and Raphael’s fingers lifted her face.
“Then rise, my Queen.” He offered his other hand and she grabbed it.
Once she stood up, Raphael pulled Gwendolyn close and kissed her on the mouth. With one hand on the back of her head and the other on her back, he dipped her as they kissed, which made her gasp, as the room erupted into cheers.
Later on, the newlyweds were sat beside a grand table, as guests appeared before them to grant their wishes and present them gifts.
Gwen looked around the room, how happy everyone seemed as they ate and danced. She looked her wedding ring, still not believing it had happened. And finally, she looked at Raphael, her husband.
She placed a hand on his wrist. “I want to thank you. For everything you’ve done for me.”
He put his glass down and smiled towards her. “It is I who should thank you. I would not be here today if it wasn't for your efforts.”
Gwendolyn smiled. “I love you.”
“And I you.” He replied, reaching forwards and kissing her delicately.

Bet You Didn't Know~Natsu X Lucy
Tumblr media
Natsu is a bottom so if u don't like pegging then don't read
Smut eventually
The day was simple enough. Friends were finding work, I was fighting with Snowflake, and Lucy was on her way. A typical day for all of us at home.
“Good morning, Everyone.” My head quirked and a dopey grin was on my face.
“Hey, Lucy!” I ran as fast as I could to my partner.
“Hi, Natsu. What job do we have today?”
“Oh-ho you're gonna like this one. We have to take care of Heart Plants.” I thought she'd be excited but something about her slouching shoulders told me otherwise.
“Come on I'll tell you all about it on the way.”
“But Natsu it's by train.” I almost threw up in my mouth.
“Right, I forgot.” She sighed and I followed her out the doors. Lucy. If I had to describe her with one word, it would be… Strong. Not just physically but mentally as well. Whenever Lucy had something in mind, she gave it one hundred and twenty percent. I always admired that about her. How strong she was and how strong she was getting.
“Don't you think?”
“Huh? Oh, yeah sure.”
“Are you feeling okay? You barely touched anything.”
“I'm fine, just a little woozy.” I could tell that Lucy and Happy didn't believe me but decided not to press it any further.
“So, tell me about these plants.”
“Okay. Well, Heart Plants are pretty harmless, they just grow everywhere really fast. They're pretty much just weeds.”
“Right but what do they look like?”
“That's hard to say. They like to imitate other plants, the only way to tell the difference is their leaves. They have a red color close to the stem and it makes it look like a heart.”
“Is that why they're called Heart Plants?” I shook my head.
“No, that's dumb. They're called Heart Plants because a lot of the time people pick them for their romantic partner. Since they can look like other flowers, they get them mixed up. Once you've inhaled it's pollen, it brings out what desire you've hidden inside yourself.” I finished my last plate and let out a satisfied breath.
“I'm all fired up! Let's go kill some weeds!”
“Aye!”
I scrubbed myself for probably the fourth time and I still felt like it was on me. I had somehow managed to get the pollen onto my skin.
“I’m sure it’s not that bad, Natsu.” Happy said through the bathroom door. I watched the white foam slither to the drain. I could feel my body heat up and my hand twisted the knob to cold water. Although that action was deemed fruitless as my skin remained hot. I laid my arm onto the wall in front of me, closing my eyes as my heart picked up pace. I could see images as clear as day pass through my mind. A whip or rope wrapped around my wrists, my arms, and legs. Soft hands flattened against my chest and slid down to my hips, grabbing hard as something cold yet hot entered inside me. I moaned and my knees buckled. I slid to my knees and my vision got fuzzy. Blonde hair was in my view and her pink rose lips. A purr rumbled deep in my throat and my hand found its way to my burning need.
“Natsu?! Are you okay?!” I gasped and my eyes flew open. I had ended up on my stomach, ass in the air, three fingers deep inside myself.
“ ‘M fine!” I managed to half moan out. The door shook and I groaned.
“Natsu, open the door.”
“No.”
“Natsu.”
“I’m fine, Lucy.” I mewled as I continued my fingers movements. It just wasn’t enough, it wasn’t what I needed. I shook from yet another orgasm but I still didn’t feel that fulfillment. Next thing I knew, the door was open and shut. It made me slightly scared of what that woman could achieve.
“Oh, well…”
“Don’t look at me.” I tugged the curtain but it was pulled back. I tried to hide my face with my arm, my hot face somehow getting hotter.
“Is this what you’ve been doing for the past hour?” When I didn’t answer, I was pulled out by my bicep and tossed onto the floor.
“Natsu… I’m not gonna laugh.”
“Maybe.” Lucy gave me a stern look and I sighed.
“I-I want… I’ve always wanted to know what it's like to get fucked by you.” For a while nothing happened and it almost made tears form at my eyes. I thought I had screwed up and she thought I was weird. Or maybe she thought I was gross. I could faintly hear a door open and a few minutes later it closed.
“She left. I knew she would hate it.” I thought and sniffed. I was about to get up but a hand placed itself onto my neck. I moaned and looked behind me from the corner of my eye. It was Lucy with a smile, I gazed as low as I could and noticed something flesh colored in her other hand. I blushed and hid my face on the floor.
“Lucy, what about Happy?”
“Relax, he ran into Sting and Rogue. You’re mine for now.” I shivered and smiled with a toothy grin.
“Okay.”
“That’s, "Yes Mistress.” Lucy Said as her hand grabbed at my hair. My body twitched and a small moan passed my lips.
“Yes, Mistress.”
“Better. Now, to the bed, Pet.” I wordlessly got up on jelly legs and went to the bed. I laid so my stomach touched the edge of the mattress, legs spread wide, arms limp at my side. I heard her chuckle and a hand slapped a cheek. I squeaked at the impact but moaned at the after feel. Then there was another one, and another, and another until the sting was almost too much and it felt as if one more would cause me to bleed.
“What a pretty color on you, Pet.” A cold substance dripped onto my slightly swollen entrance and I let out a purr.
“Pet, pick a safeword.”
“Cherry.”
“Perfect.” A long moan fell off my lips as she pushed herself inside.
“Is it big, Pet?” I nodded.
“Bigger than I thought.” I smiled and she reached her hand around to grab my throat. My mouth opened and my eyes rolled.
“My, my. I didn’t know you were this kinky, Natsu.” Lucy giggled. The pace started slow and deep, almost like she was teasing me, holding me tight.
I let out a content sigh as I snuggled into a cool body who let out a groan as my arms slithered around them.
“Natsu, you’re too hot.”
“But I like cuddling.”
“Well cuddle your pillow, you’re making me sweaty, it’s gross.” I showed Lucy a pout and puppy eyes.
“I can’t sleep like that, I’ll get nightmares.”
“...Okay fine. Just this time though.” With a beaming smile, I nuzzled my face into her soft hair and drifted off to sleep.

This idea for a oneshot just popped into my head along with a few others, so I decided to write it.
Well, I'm sick. I am not experiencing Covid symptoms, so I don't believe I have that. I feel like garbage and it hurts to get out of bed. I am coughing every five minutes and just took a NyQuil pill, HOWEVER, that will not stop me from posting on schedule. If God wants me to stop writing, then He's gonna need to try a hell of a lot harder.
On another note, I actually really like OrLu. There aren't a lot of fics about these two, which is pretty sad, in my opinion. I have read a few, and I really like the ship. This shouldn't be too much of a surprise. I can't say why exactly I really like OrLu, I just do. I guess I like it because you can do quite a lot with them in fanfics and not be restricted by canon. I hope that made sense because I don't know any other way to explain it.
I hope you enjoy!
Unexpected Partner (Orga x Lucy)
Lucy sat at the bar, sipping on her favorite strawberry milkshake. She glanced at the request board and then at her team, seeing that Natsu and Gray were arguing while Erza was eating her strawberry cake and getting increasingly annoyed by her two male teammates. Lucy needed to go on a job for rent money but didn't want to deal with her team's destructive nature. Every time they went on a job together, Natsu would burn stuff, Gray would freeze whatever isn't on fire, and Erza would break whatever was left. This would leave Lucy to apologize for the destruction and lose what amount of the reward money was required to fix the damages.
She loved her teammates, she really did, but she couldn't go on every job with them. She had rent to pay, after all. She sighed, finishing off her cold drink and walking over to the request board. She looked at the reward money first, singling out the ones that offered the amount of money she was looking for, and then looking at what exactly the job request was about. She was still analyzing the pieces of paper when an arm wrapped around her shoulders. She knew who the arm belonged to.
A familiar voice greeted her, "Hey, Luce! Looking for a job we can do?"
Lucy looked over at Natsu, answering, "Sorry, Natsu, but I'm going on a solo job."
The dragon slayer pulled away, giving his best friend a look of shock and hurt. "What? We're partners! We go on jobs together!"
Lucy sighed. At least Gray and Erza weren't joining Natsu in his complaining. For now, at least. She shook her head and responded, "no, Natsu. Just because we're on the same team doesn't mean I'm obligated to go on every job with you. I am allowed to go on solo jobs. I have decided to go on a solo job."
She ignored Natsu's pouting in favor of turning her attention back to the request board. She quickly found one that paid three-hundred-thousand jewel. Enough for three months of rent with more than enough money left over to buy food. She read the request. Whoever sent it wanted a mage to take out a small dark guild and rescue the woman that had been captured by them and was being held hostage. It sounded like a job she could handle. Taking it off of the board, she headed over to Mira to get it approved.
Once Lucy reached the bar, Natsu began whining again, "come on, Luce! Let me go with you! It's been a whole month since I've taken a job!"
Lucy didn't look at him. She watched as Mira approved the job request and walked out of the guild to pack as she replied simply, "Go on one with Gray and Erza, or with Lisanna. I'm sure she would love to go on one with you."
She didn't listen for a response as she walked out of the guild and headed for her apartment. She wasn't sure how long she would probably stay in the town the job was in, but it'd probably be a good idea to pack for two weeks. That was quite a bit of packing, maybe she'll have Virgo help her.
Lucy bought her train ticket and sat on a bench, waiting for the train to arrive. She was staring off into space when a loud voice called out to her, "Hey! Fairy!" Lucy broke out of her empty trance and turned her head to see a large man walking toward her, a welcoming smile on his face. He was tall and muscular, with green hair, shirtlessness, and warpaint-like markings on his upper body and face giving him a wild look. She wracked her brain for a name to put to him. She watched him approach her and come to a stop next to her, looking down at her with a smile.
She stared up at him in confusion before recognition hit her. She stood up and smiled up at him. "Hello, Orga. It's been a while."
Orga nodded, saying, "yeah, Fairy. About a year, I think."
Lucy gave him a look of annoyance. "Fairy Tail and Sabertooth are friends now. Could you please stop calling me 'Fairy'?"
Orga gave a humorous laugh before answering, "sorry. Habit, I guess. Hey, Lucy."
The celestial wizard went back to smiling back, responding, "that's better." She then asked, "are you on your way to a job too?"
Orga nodded. "I just finished my first job here in Magnolia. I'm heading to my second one."
Lucy raised an eyebrow, asking, "you took two jobs? And you took a job here?"
Orga nodded. "My first job was pretty easy. Just helping to move a bunch of heavy stuff for some reason that wasn't explained. Nothing big. I decided to take two so I wouldn't be too bored. My second job is in Gardenia Town."
Lucy gave him a look of disbelief. When the Sabertooth mage raised a confused eyebrow. Lucy noticed his confusion by saying, "my job is in Gardenia Town."
Orga's facial expression changed into one of mirrored disbelief. He held out his hand, silently asking for her job request. Lucy reached into the pouch on her hip, pulling out a folded piece of paper. She unfolded it and handed it to him, allowing him to read it over and compare it to his own job request. After reading the job request from the Fairy Tail request board and comparing it to his, Orga looked down at the blonde mage, his eyes wide with shock and slight confusion. He spoke, his voice mirroring the feelings his face and eyes were displaying, "we have the same job request."
Lucy gaped at him. "What?" She took back her job request, also snatching the large man's request to compare them herself. She silently gasped. They were the same, right down to the reward. She looked back up at Orga, saying with a small shrug of her shoulders, "I guess the requestor is desperate."
Orga nodded, adding, "should we team up?"
Lucy looked back at the job requests in her hands before handing the one from Sabertooth back to the god slayer. She answered simply, "I guess we should. It'll make this job easier and faster." Orga nodded, sitting down next to Lucy after she sat back down. The newly partnered mages sat in silence for the train to arrive.
Lucy and Orga stepped off the train, still engaged in a fit of laughter. The train ride had lasted five hours, and the two mages managed to pass the time with conversation about their individual guilds, eventually devolving into talking about their friends, whom they typically team up with. Lucy wiped a stray tear away while asking, "why did you decide to take solo jobs?" Her cheeks were beginning to hurt from smiling so widely, but she ignored it.
Orga looked down at her as they walked to the requestor's house, a just as big smile on his own face, and answered, "Sting is the guild master, so he can't take jobs. Rogue has been pissy lately for some reason, so I'm not going on a job with him because I don't want to be Shadow Dragon's Slashed again. Rufus never was fond of partnering on jobs unless you bribed him. Yukino and Minerva have been going on jobs together a lot lately, saying that they liked the 'girl time' they got to have while on jobs. If you ask me, though, I'd say that those two are using jobs as excuses to go on dates without anybody knowing, even though the entire guild suspects that they are together."
Lucy let out a gasp. "Yukino and Minerva? I wouldn't have guessed." She then smiled and added, "I'm happy for them. Mira is going to flip out when I tell her."
Orga laughed, muttering an "oh no" under his breath, before asking the smaller mage, "what about you?" He placed a large arm around her shoulders, hoping that she wouldn't find it weird.
Lucy felt warmth creep onto her cheeks at the small contact. She turned her head to hide the blush from him, looking instead at the quaint houses they passed. She answered, "I wanted a break from my team's destructiveness."
Orga chuckled before he responded with an amused tone, "I don't blame you. I heard stories."
Lucy paled at the last part. She mumbled, just loud enough for the other mage to hear, "that doesn't sound good."
The pair fell back into a laughing fit, stopping and leaning against each other so they could avoid falling over in their uncontrollable laughter. After a few minutes, they had gained control of themselves and resumed their walking to their requestor's home.
They quickly arrived at their destination, walking up to the wooden door of the two-story house. Lucy raised her fist to knock lightly. They waited a few moments, but nobody had even yelled an answer, making Lucy wonder if she should knock again. Just as she was about to knock louder, the door creaked open, revealing a man that looked as though he was homeless. He peeked his head out of the opening that was just big enough for him to stick his head through. His green eyes were panicked and he looked as though he was expecting to be attacked at any moment. Lucy and Orga gave each other a mirroring confused look, a feeling of alarm mixed in.  Just what had this dark guild done?
Lucy turned her attention back to the man and spoke in a soft and slow tone, not wanting to scare him, "we are here to answer your request." She slowly reached into her small pouch, pulled out her job request, unfolded it carefully, and held it up for the man to see. She then asked, "is there anything you can tell us about this small dark guild? Where it is and how many members, perhaps?"
The man answered so quickly that Lucy and Orga almost didn't catch his words, "ten members! At the abandoned warehouse! Bring back my Crimson safely!" He then pulled back into the house and slammed the door closed.
Lucy and Orga looked at each other again in confusion as to what exactly happened to this man. Orga finally made a guess, " maybe this Crimson person is his wife."
Lucy shrugged. She and Orga walked away from the house. As they walked, Lucy realized that they had no idea where the abandoned warehouse they had to go to was. She stopped walking, Orga coming to a stop next to her. He questioned as he watched her take out a silver key, "what are you doing?"
Lucy ignored the question, instead, she pointed the blade of her silver key at the ground in front of her and called, "Open! Gate of the Compass: Pyxis!"
A flash of light caused Orga to shield his eyes. When he looked back, he saw a red and white bird thing with a compass on its head resting comfortably in Lucy's arms. He raised an eyebrow at it, lifting his fingers and poking the celestial spirit's beak. Lucy giggle at the act, causing Orga to look at her with wide eyes. He thought that she had a great laugh, but her giggle was just beautiful. He felt warmth on his cheeks, knowing that he was blushing. He looked away, hoping that the Fairy Tail mage hadn't noticed. He then asked, "Which one is that?" He hoped that his voice didn't give away how flustered he had become by simply hearing her giggle at such a small action.
Lucy smiled up at him sweetly. She sat the bird spirit on the ground and spoke to it, "Pyxis, could you point us in the direction of an abandoned warehouse?"
The bird squawked happily before the compass on its head began spinning. It quickly came to a stop and the spirit pointed towards a forest that sat nearby. Lucy mumbled, "of course, it's in the forest."
She picked up Pyxis and began walking in the direction it was pointing in, Orga followed, muttering, "a spirit that can give you directions. Yukino should find one."
The two mages eventually came to a warehouse. Lucy dismissed Pyxis and crouched beside Orga behind some bushes and trees. They watched as a couple of dark mages conversed right in front of the entrance of the four-story warehouse. The blonde mage turned to her partner and whispered her plan, "I'll go find the woman while you and a couple of you spirits fight the dark mages."
Orga nodded, adding, "don't waste your magic. I can take them all on by myself."
Lucy shook her head, reaching into her pouch to take out two keys. "I don't doubt your fighting ability, but I think it would be better if a couple of my spirits help you, just in case."
Orga tried to say no but found that he couldn't. He sighed and nodded his head in acceptance of the plan. Lucy smiled. She raised a hand, all five fingers up. She slowly put each one down as she readied her two golden keys in her other hand. Orga shifted, prepared to jump out and start blasting dark mages with his lightning.
Once Lucy put down her last finger, the pair bolted out of their hiding spot. The celestial wizard raised her two keys and shouted, "Open! Gates of the Maiden and Golden Bull: Virgo and Taurus!" The pair of Zodiac spirits appeared and immediately began attacking the dark mages that ran out of the warehouse, being quickly joined by Orga.
Lucy managed to sneak past the fighting mages, slipping into the warehouse and beginning her search for Crimson. After what seemed to be forever, her searching led her to a single jail cell on the top floor of the broken-down building. She ran to the cell, finding that a woman, appearing to be only a few years older than herself, was huddled in the back of the cell, her head buried in her knees. Lucy spoke softly and slowly to the woman, just as she did to the job requestor, "hey, are you Crimson?"
The woman lifted her head and looked at the mage, allowing Lucy to see that she had a head full of red hair, similar to Erza's hair color. Lucy guessed that her red was why this woman was called Crimson. The woman nodded her head in response to Lucy's question.
The blonde mage spoke again, "I'm going to get you out, okay?"
Crimson nodded again. Lucy looked at the lock on the cell's door. She knew that she couldn't break it, so she reached into her pouch and pulled out Cancer's key. She raised it as she summoned the spirit, "Open! Gate of the Giant Crab: Cancer!"
The celestial spirit appeared beside her, asking as he snipped his scissors a few times, "what do you need, baby?"
Lucy pointed at the lock. "I need you to unlock this cell!"
Cancer nodded, unlocking the cell with a pair of his scissors. Lucy thanked him before he returned to the Celestial Spirit World. Lucy flung the cell door open and rushed inside, helping Crimson to her feet and assisting her in walking.
The pair reached the entrance of the warehouse after a slow descent down several flights of stairs. They stepped out to find Orga standing among the defeated dark mages, Virgo and Taurus having already returned to their world.
Orga smiled, exclaiming, "Hey, Lucy! You found her, I see!"
Lucy nodded. "Come pick her up. We'll take her back and then come and get the dark mages." Orga nodded, walking over to the two women and picking up the red-haired woman bridal style. They walked back to the town, intending to also find a doctor for her.
Lucy and Orga sat on the train, on their way back to the respective towns that they lived in. They had returned Crimson to their job requestor, who turned out to be her husband. The couple had a tearful reunion and the man happily gave the two mages their reward money. Lucy and Orga quickly agreed to split the reward money, one-hundred-fifty-thousand jewel per mage. They then turned the dark mages over to the Rune Knights that quickly arrived after being contacted by the two mages via a communication lacrima.
The pair now sat in comfortable silence. Lucy looked up at the large man, seeing that he was staring out of the window. She opened her mouth to say something, but quickly closed it. She wanted to ask Orga if he wanted to hang out sometime, but didn't know how to ask, or even if he was interested in her the way she was interested in him.
The train then came to a stop and the conductor's voice sounded, announcing that they had arrived at Magnolia. Lucy looked back at Orga again, seeing that he was smiling at her. She returned the smile and stood up. She waved goodbye and began walking out of the compartment when she was stopped by a hand gripping her wrist. She looked back to see Orga was still smiling at her, a light blush painted across his cheeks. Lucy waited for him to say something, silently hoping that he would say what she wanted to say to him.
The man then said just loud enough for Lucy to hear, "um...would you like to hang out sometime?"
Lucy's smile widened. She nodded happily. Orga squeezed her hand before letting go and watching her walk off of the train. He leaned back with a sigh, knowing that would need to track down Yukino and question her about what he should do now that he asked Lucy out.

gross | t.h.
tom holland x singer!reader
warnings: fluff
summary: you go live and sing an unreleased song to your fans. some catch onto the inspiration, including the one who inspired you. {listen to gross by olivia rodrigo (if you feel like it)}
wc: 1k
Tumblr media
"Hello, my children. Welcome to my live." you gestured around your room as you propped your phone against your piano and took a seat on the bench.
The number of viewers grew by thousands every second and you smiled while you watched. Hundreds of comments flooded in; emojis, exclamation marks.
"When is the album coming out?" you read a comment, "Ooh, not for a while, unfortunately. Still have lots of work to do on it. But soon!" you assured them.
"Where are you right now? I am in my home. My humble abode. Specifically in my living room." you picked up the phone and showed the space. "It's a bit messy. Don't tell my mum."
Your eyes lingered on the telly before finding their way back to the comments, "What am I watching? C'mon, 'Criminal Minds', of course! Matthew Gray Gubler is my husband, have to be a supportive wife."
"How did you meet Tom and Jacob? How did I meet my adopted children? Um, Zendaya introduced us at a party and we've been best friends ever since." you smiled at the mention of your three closest friends.
"Where are they? I'm assuming you mean Tom, Jacob and Daya. They are filming right now, I believe? Not sure."
"Is there any song you can sing for us that's on the album? Hmm," you rubbed your chin, contemplating, "There is one, but I'm not sure it's going to be on the album. I wrote it a few days ago. It does not have a name yet, but I think I can grace you guys with a little something." you smirked before playing a little melody on the keys in front of you.
You hit a chord before clapping a beat, "Not long ago when I saw you there with your brown-eyed grin and your messy hair and every girl at the party was looking at you. Ooh-ooh-ooh." you smiled at the camera before continuing.
"I wonder what I'd say if I knew back then that the brown-eyed boy'd be my best friend. And the one I'd give my heart to. Ooh-ooh-ooh." you were so engrossed in singing that you didn't notice the certain brown-eyed boy join your live or the thousands of comments filled with theories.
'OMG THIS IS ABT TOM'
'no fucking way this isn't about tom'
'AHSGAAA IM SCRAMAING'
'tom has brown eyes and messy hair...'
'PLSSSS THIS IS SO CUTE'
'my y/s/n heart is screaming'
'i'm dead. deceased'
"Now everything reminds me of you, your pictures framed all over my room and if I hate someone you'll hate 'em, too."
Your mind wandered to the polaroid picture of you and Tom that was stuck on your bedroom wall. It was taken at one of Zendaya's many get togethers. You had fallen asleep on Tom's shoulder and he had fallen asleep with his head on yours. Jacob had taken the opportunity to capture the moment on Zendaya's polaroid and graciously given you the picture.
You went back to playing the piano, "As long as I'm your darling angel, I don't need anything in the world. 'Cause I feel like the luckiest every second that I'm your girl. I wanna do everything with you."
'TOM JOINED OSMDH'
'my PARENTS'
'HI TOM OMFG'
'he calls her darling angel i can die happy'
'TOM MF HOLLAND IS HERE AND SHES SINGING ABT HIM'
'MOM AND DAD ADOPT ME WTF'
'smo better be screenrecording this'
You continued to sing, clueless to the comments flooding, "Take the highs, I'll take the lows. I'll keep you close, give you the most. Oh, baby. I like you so much it's kinda gross, yeah. I like you so much it's kinda gross."
You shut your eyes and remembered all the times Tom would pick you up and you would take drives down the coast or to the grocery store even though you didn't need anything. When he would get you strawberry ice cream at Mario's Gelato because he knew that it would make you smile. Extra sprinkles, of course.
"And driving in your car, I feel all grown up. Is it me or does it feel more than high school love? Not gonna lie, your last name sounds so nice."
Y/N Holland.
"I love when you complain about things like traffic. Love when you're tired, baby, I like all of it. Honestly, I can't believe you're mine."
"I hate Los Angeles." Tom groaned as you stopped at yet another red light, hundreds of cars in front of you.
"What did L.A. ever do to you, love?" you chuckled.
Tom frowned and grabbed your hand, placing a kiss on your knuckles, "Most ridiculous traffic in the entire world. But I have you here, so I guess it's tolerable."
You shook your head with a smile, "Eyes on the road, Holland."
"I bring you up in every conversation. We're young, I know we got to be patient, but I know I want my life to have you in it. Ooh, and as long as I'm your darling angel, I don't need anything in the world. And I feel like the luckiest every second that I'm your girl."
Tom watched your live with a bright smile, unable to fight his grin as he watched you sing a song he knew was about him. Jacob and Zendaya perched on his shoulders in his trailer as they watched with him.
"You're whipped." Jacob told him.
Tom nodded absentmindedly, too focused on your singing to respond.
"Of course he is. His girlfriend is singing a song about him in front of– How many?" she leaned in closer to check the amount of viewers, "Almost fifty thousand people."
"She's not my girlfriend." Tom mumbled.
Zendaya scoffed, "Only because you haven't asked her. 'Darling angel', huh?" she smirked.
Tom felt his cheeks turn pink, "That's what she is."
As the song ended, Tom felt a wave of sadness at the fact that it was over. He quickly typed a comment before leaving the live.
You finished with a snap and an awkward smile before a comment caught your eye.
'love it, darling angel'

Warning: demon sex and desecration in/of a church. Please don't read if that offends you!!
SMUT AHEAD
Tumblr media
Intoxicating dreams. The feeling of her mouth around his cock. His teeth sinking into her plush bottom lip. Heat racketing up his spine until all he knew was her. Wrapping a hand around her neck and feeding on her pleasure as he fucked her. Taking anything and everything she would offer him. He missed her. He missed her.
He...
Bucky jolted awake in the confession booth. Sweat dripped down his face, and he could still feel the flames of Hell licking his skin. He was hard in his slacks. Crossing himself absently, Bucky muttered a few prayers under his breath because this was happening again. He knew what it all meant. He has been away for centuries, but his past was finally catching up to him. The more vivid the dreams, the closer she was to finding Bucky. And the closer she was to finding Bucky, the more his true nature rose within him as his body fought against the angels' invisible chains. Bucky was hungrier than he had been in a long time, but the runes on his skin made him unable to leave the church, let alone go out and feed.
He checked his watch, and as he expected, it read 3:17 a.m. Bucky's heart thumped excitedly in his chest. He knew that she knew where he was. Finally, she had found him, and she would rescue him from this hell. He opened the door to the confessional just as she blew into the church, stalking nearer and nearer until Bucky could take her in for the first time in years. She looked just as beautiful as he remembered- wild and passionate with eyes that glowed from within. With each step she took, the floor cracked underneath her feet. Crucifixes clattered to the ground, and the stained-glass window shattered, raining colored glass down onto both of them. The statue of the Virgin Mary cried, and she grinned.
"There you are," she said, and Bucky could not take his eyes off of her.
"You found me," he croaked in the language he never forgot, no matter how many beatings he took.
"You’ve been calling out to me for ages, but your jailers kept you well-hidden. Even my father couldn't see you."
"They summoned me," said Bucky bitterly. "They summoned me, an' they stole me as a barginin' chip."
"If they think they can stop this, they're wrong. It is only the beginning. My father has gathered his troops. I asked him to wait until I found you. Lord Belial wasn't happy with me, but I came for you anyway. "
Bucky squirmed at the innuendo, his gaze dropping to her mouth. His stomach rumbled, and she must have heard it because she smiled. He reached out for her, and she threw herself into his arms. He pressed his lips to the top of her head, breathing her in.
“You do remember me, don't you?” she asked, sounding vulnerable in a way he would never expect.
“How could I ever forget my baby?" Bucky asked.
"How come you haven't left this church if you remember me?"
"The runes." He gestured to the symbols carved into his skin. "I can't leave."
"You can leave if the angels who created the runes are dead."
"What did you do?"
"They gambled away their vessels, and I burnt them to a crisp," she said, baring her teeth. "It was a fitting punishment, Father said. If they thought they could take away what is mine, they were wrong if they thought they could hurt you without retribution. They deserve worse than what I gave them."
"You-"
"You're free, Bucky," she said firmly, placing her hands against his cheeks. "What will you do now?"
Bucky kissed her, and it was like slipping a key into a lock. He had forgotten almost everything about his old life, except for her, but she saved him and was now giving everything back. He vividly remembered Hell again, remembered how it was not as dreadful as the angels brainwashed him into believing it was. It was his home. It was hellhounds and halls of crystals glittering in the low lamplight. It was decadent food that demons didn't need but ate anyway. It was her naked in his bed, waiting for him to return from corrupting souls on Earth. It was sex all the time, whenever Bucky wanted. She was as insatiable as he was.
“Welcome back,” she said.
“It's been so long,” Bucky replied, pawing at her greedily. “I need ya right the fuck now. I'm starvin.'”
“Remember when we fucked in that church in Romania? Right under the statue of their precious Mary?” she asked.
“Hell, I’ve missed you."
As they kissed again, Bucky felt her heating up under his hands until tendrils of flame erupted from her skin. She pulled back, and Bucky saw her eyes alight with hellfire. He gathered her closer with a groan, knowing he would never get burned. She kissed him again, clawing at his hair as she swung herself into his lap. The confession booth swayed dangerously, but both ignored it. Bucky sunk his teeth in her bottom lip, and she snarled, scraping her nails over his scalp in retaliation. They pulled apart to blink at one another, then she dove to take off Bucky's shirt. Her fingers burned his skin so good, leaving red streaks that would fade quickly. Bucky could feel it crawling under his skin again, the hunger for sex that he hadn’t felt in ages. He wanted; he wanted to feed off of her pleasure and make her scream.
“I see those pretty black eyes,” she said, drawing Bucky’s gaze from her bare chest. “I knew they wouldn’t succeed.”
“Missed you,” Bucky growled, sucking her jaw so fiercely that he drew blood, “Take yer panties off for me.”
“Ask me nicely.”
She dug her nails into his pecs- a warning. Bucky rolled his eyes as he carried her out of the confessional and into a booth.
“Please take off yer panties. Sweetheart,” he said.
“Okay, darling, whatever you say," she replied.
“Disgusting. Don't ever call me that again. An' take your fuckin' panties off, huh?"
“You're such a dick."
"Hey, leave me alone! It's been two hundred years."
She shoved Bucky’s shoulder, trying to push him off of her enough so that she could wiggle out of her bottoms. Bucky ignored her unspoken command. He grabbed her wrists and slammed her arms over her head.
“Keep ‘em there," he said.
“How am I expected to take my underwear off? Think things through, will you?” she said.
“Yer bein’ unusually bratty today.” Bucky wrapped his lips around one of her nipples. “Ain’t had anyone put you in yer place for a while, I guess.”
“Oh, please. My father is one of the seven kings of Hell. If anything, you should submit to me. I remember how much you liked it when I made you beg at my feet like a hound."
“It's been decades since I’ve had ya underneath me. Now that I have ya, I ain’t just gonna give that up so willingly. Stop bein’ a brat."
“For Baal's sake, just do something instead of talking about it."
“No swearin’, we’re in church,” Bucky said. “An’ keep yer arms above yer head. No touchin.’”
“For fuck’s sake.”
“An’ shut that mouth a’ yours too. You don’t want me to gag ya, do you?”
"Who the fuck has been going around and telling lies saying I wouldn't like that?" she asked with a smile.
Bucky softened. He knew he was probably looking at her like a dumbass, but she was so beautiful and here for the first time in a long time. Bucky wouldn't want his first feeding session in centuries to be with anyone else. If a beast like him could love, he was sure he would love her.
"Missed you," Bucky said softly, tucking his thumbs in the waistband of her panties and stuffing them in her mouth. "So much."
"Missed you too," she mumbled.
"Did you make 'em suffer?"
"You know I did. They hurt you."
She said everything he needed to know in just seven words. His hunger overwhelmed him, and Bucky blacked out until all he could see was her. Flames tickled him as Bucky leaned down to kiss a fiery trail down her stomach. She growled at him in an ancient tongue, and the foundations of the church shook at her words. The statue of Mary cracked in two the louder her words got, but Bucky ignored it, not content on just eating her out- he wanted her screaming. But she was a hard one to please. Bucky could rarely get her to scream when he ate her out, no matter the amount of coaxing he tried.
"Love the taste of you, but I need more," he said, his tongue flicking over her clit. "We still gotta topple that statue."
"Come up here and fuck me. It's been so long."
Bucky left the plush comfort of her thighs and made his way up her body, pressing kisses along the way.
"I know it has, babe," he said, kissing her forehead in a display of comfort that they were both unaccustomed to. "But I’m here now, an’ nothin’ can pull me away from ya again, you hear me?”
"I'll kill anyone who tries," she said.
Bucky grinned sharply. "That's my girl."
"Not yours," she countered.
"No?"
He reached down and drew her legs up around his waist. She locked her ankles together, holding him there so tight he could not move, not even to get inside her. He growled, trying to break free.
"I'm not yours," she repeated.
"If you fuckin' think for one second you ain't mine, you're wrong."
"I'm a fucking demon. No one owns me."
"Never said 'owns.' I said mine. Now, you gonna lemme fuck you or not?"
"No. How is it different?"
Bucky groaned, dropping his head onto her chest. He pressed a few kisses at her breast, bit her nipple.
"C'mon, gimme a break. I'm starvin.'"
"No, not until you tell me."
"Fuck's sake. You're mine, an' I'm yours, okay? An' I don't wanna feed on anyone else, ever again. You're enough for me."
"Okay."
"You don't have to reciprocate."
"I put a war on hold, and I killed three angels to find you," she said flatly.
"Yeah," Bucky said, his vessel's heart fluttering. "You did."
She loosened her grip on Bucky, allowing him to slip inside her for the first time. His body shuddered in delight at feeling her again. He could taste her pleasure in the air, and his tongue flicked out to gather it from her lips as they kissed. Bucky knew he wasn't going to last long, but he would be (more) damned if he finished before she did.
"Come on, move," she said, her nails pricking his back.
The pace Bucky chose was brutal, and she moaned, arching her back. He remembered now the way she’d never utter more than a moan. No matter the amount of coaxing, Bucky could never make her scream. She had passed out from him fucking and feeding on her a few times, but even then, all he managed to get were a few calls of his name. It kept him desperate to please her even though she was the one feeding him.
"Go faster," she sighed, her head tipped back enough so that Bucky could get at her neck with his teeth.
"I gotcha, babe. Wan' my hand?"
"Yes, please."
Naturally, Bucky obliged. He wrapped one of his big hands around her neck, squeezing gently and then harder. Her mouth fell open against his as he fucked her, and they stayed like that, panting into each other's mouths. And Bucky wanted so much for someone to burst in and see them like this, see him fucking her into the ground and feeding off her desire.
He pulled out of her when he got an idea. She speared him with a glare, but he calmed her down, urging her to get to her hands and knees. Bucky smacked her ass, and she muffled a cry into her forearms. The flames on her skin burned hotter and hotter the more Bucky spanked her until sweat was pouring down his chest. He gathered her hair up in his hand and dragged her up from the floor, curling a possessive hand around her throat. Flames licked his skin wherever her body was pressed to his. Bucky could feel it rising within her, and he gasped at the taste of it after so long without. It was the best drug in the world.
"C'mon, rub your clit for me, and scream when you come. You know it makes it taste better," he demanded.
"Make it worth my while, and I will."
"You wan' it? I'll give it to you," Bucky said, squeezing her neck until she was gasping. "Now, come for me. Gimme it."
It only took a couple more sweeps of her fingers over her clit and a quick kiss from Bucky for her to come. He kissed her to muffle her screams, drinking her down, thirsty for everything she could give him. He continued fucking her through her orgasm, his eager pants ringing around the church.
"Again, again, gimme one more. So hungry, babe, you taste so good," Bucky panted.
It didn't take long for her to come again, and Bucky fed on her, moaning as he felt her slipping down his throat. He licked his lips and pushed himself entirely inside her, holding still until she triggered his own orgasm.
"That's a good girl," Bucky cooed, kissing her to get the last of her orgasm.
"Are you feeling better?" she asked, looking upside down at him.
He snuggled closer. "Yeah."
"Are you pulling out or what?"
"Nah, wanna stay here for a minute or two. Missed this. So happy y'found me. You saved me."
"I always will," she said, scowling.
Bucky laughed, burying his face into her hair.
"How's Hell, anyway?"
"It's good. Will you come back with me?"
"I'll go anywhere you want me to."
"We'll get those runes off your skin."
"'Kay, but later. I'm still ravenous," said Bucky.
She grinned, all sharp teeth and fire in her eyes.
"Come on, then. Let's go to a real bed."
"Lead the way," said Bucky, flipping the bird toward the Mary statue that lay shattered on the ground.

______
“How drunk do you think we’re going to get tonight?” Sophie asked, tipping back the last of a lemon White Claw as the two of them got ready for the night in her room.
“Dunno. I’m not really feeling it tonight.”
She paused, glancing back at him. “Do you not want to go?”
He shook his head and took the can from her, disappointed to realize there was nothing left. “No, no, it’s fine. I’m cool. Probably just won’t drink.”
“Is this about the phone call with your dad earlier?”
Rafe sighed, gritting his teeth. “It’s not - I’m fine, Soph.”
She crossed her arms and eyed him over, trying to get a read on his body language. “You’re sure.”
“I’m sure.” After Rafe tugged his shirt over his head, ready much faster than Sophie, he paced around the room for a few seconds before speaking up. "Hey, so...Sarah's getting presented at the annual deb ball in spring."
Sophie seemed unbothered, turning her back to him as she wrestled her way into a crop top to get ready for the night. "Those are still a thing? Cool, so you're going home for it?" She paused, glancing over at him in his polo. "Undo another button."
He did so, then rocked back on his heels with his hands in his pockets, trying to figure out what to say next.
She slowly turned back to him, realizing he was still tense across his shoulders. "What?"
Rafe rubbed the back of his neck, a tell-tale sign he was nervous and Sophie wasn't going to like what he was about to say. "Yeah...my dad wanted you to come home for it too."
"What? Ward? Why?"
"He, kinda, uh, wants you to be presented too?"
She just laughed, turning back to the mirror with her brow furrowed in slight concentration as she applied another coat of mascara. "Okay. Sure." But when he didn't elaborate, she turned back to him again, lips pursed. "Cameron. Tell me you told him no."
"...I didn't not not tell him no."
"Rafe."
He cracked under her stare. "I'm sorry, okay! Look, it's easy, all you have to do is throw on a pretty white dress and gloves -"
"A dress that costs thousands of dollars -"
"Hundreds, but - I'll cover you, obviously -"
"No." She turned back to the mirror, shaking her head. "Fuck no. I'm not going."
"Sophie." He nearly begged, stepping closer and running his hand through his hair. "Baby. C'mon."
"Don't call me that. No. I don’t fit into that part of your world.”
"Not even for me?" He pleaded, giving her a half-hearted grin. He ignored her last sentence, knowing any argument he had for her point would be dismissed in two seconds. "I wouldn't ask you if it wasn't important, you know that."
She turned back to him with crossed arms, fixing him with a glare. "Do I know that?"
"Soph."
"Don't, Rafe." She warned, holding one hand out, but he stepped closer anyways.
"Angel. Please. For me." He forced a smile, tried cracking a joke. "I really don't want to have to call him up and get read the riot act."
She furrowed her brow and Rafe reached out and smoothed out the lines in between her eyebrows before he could stop himself, making her soften just a little. "If I were to say yes. What would I have to do?"
"Just wear the dress, attend a dinner, party the night before and party that night." He paused, thinking. "And stay at my house for the weekend. Be civil to my dad.” At her eyeroll, he fixed her with a more serious gaze. “Meet my grandparents. Hang with my sisters. C'mon, Wheezie adores you."
"You're lying."
"I'm not. She thinks you're cool. Sarah too, but she’s less likely to admit it." He kissed her forehead, hands going to her waist. "Please?"
"It's that important?"
"I swear. On my mom's grave."
Sophie frowned immediately, reaching up to fix his hair. "That's not necessary."
"You'll do it?"
"...Yes." When he made a small fist pump, she fixed him with a glare. "Only because I love you."
“I'll go down on you every night for the next two weeks -”
She rolled her eyes at his promise, shoving lightly at his chest. "You basically already do that anyways, Rafe -”
"Okay, fine, I'll tie you up, something, anything, god, thank you, Soph. You don't know how big of a favor this is. I mean it." He sighed in relief, the tension draining from his body.
She ignored him, turning back to the mirror to apply lip gloss, carefully smearing the wand across her lips. “Why does he want me to do this? I don’t understand.”
“Is that the sticky stuff? I hate that stuff, it gets all over me when we’re kissing -” He started, then quickly shut his mouth as she flipped him off without looking. “Uh, ‘to integrate you into our society.’ Direct quote.”
“Oh god.” She groaned, setting the lip gloss aside after applying it, then started searching through her jewelry case. “So I’m gonna have to be on my best kook behavior?”
He snorted. “Sophie Flint, a kook. Not likely.”
“Watch it.” She pointed a warning finger in his face. “You don’t see anything weird with this? Your dad hates me.”
“He doesn’t hate you.”
“Rose does.”
“That’s not true either.”
Sophie raised her eyebrows, challenging him.
He shrugged, relenting with a sigh. “You’re not her favorite person, no, but neither am I.”
“You think this was more her idea? For Sarah to do it too?”
“Nah, actually, pretty sure it was my grandparents’ idea. Probably Granddad. My mom went through all this, so…”
She turned her back to him and gathered her hair, offering the clasp of her gold chain to him. “Your mom was a debutante?” She questioned with interest.
_______
Rafe rarely ever talked about his mom - Sophie had only found out how she died from a newspaper article in the online archives, and hadn’t wanted to bring it up since. All she knew was that Mrs. Cameron had passed away in a car accident when Rafe was fourteen.
Both Sophie and Rafe’s schools shared a building, despite them going to private academies, and overlapped for certain advanced placement classes. In freshman year, they were together for AP chemistry, with Sophie sitting proudly at the front of the class while Rafe sat in the back with a group of his friends, often cracking jokes at inappropriate times or throwing wads of paper at each other. Freshman year Sophie was the epitome of stuck-up - she resorted to insults instead of making friends and kept to herself, terrified someone might find out that she was on scholarship and wasn’t truly meant to be there.
The day after the car accident, Rafe was unusually quiet. Sophie hadn’t heard the news yet, it was barely second period and she wasn’t looped into the trail of gossip like the rest of the girls at Greenville. They were partnered for an experiment that day - Rafe had groaned when he heard Sophie’s name after his from the teacher, and Sophie barely suppressed a roll of her eyes. She took charge right away, getting all the supplies and set up their work station without even addressing him. After a few minutes, she slid the small glass of solution to Rafe, raising her eyebrows. “You can do the work too, you know.”
He was completely spaced out, only glancing up when she said something. “I wasn’t paying attention.”
Sophie rolled her eyes, lifting a beaker and extending it to him. “Yeah. I know. Just drop in 10 milliliters of the solution, it’s not hard.”
Rafe sighed as he rested his elbows on the edge of the table, rubbing his temples. “Look, can you just do it?”
She finally took note of the dark circles under his eyes, the way his shoulders were slumped, but misinterpreted it all. She smirked, taking on a taunting tone. “What, you’re still drunk from last night or something?”
He gritted his jaw, his entire body growing tense, and tugged at the collar of his polo. “Fuck off, Flint. Not in the mood today.”
She recoiled immediately, setting the beaker down with a little too much force. “Don’t be an asshole.”
“Don’t be a fucking bitch.” He spit back, standing abruptly. She winced as the stool squeaked across the floor, drawing everyone’s attention - as if they hadn’t had it already. Kelce stepped over and went to grab Rafe’s arm, possibly pull him away, but Rafe just wrenched his arm out of his grip. “I’m fine.” He growled, storming out of the classroom without looking back.
After a few moments of stunned silence, with Sophie on the verge of shocked tears, their teacher cleared her throat and redirected everyone’s attention, pointing one of the girls over to join Sophie instead. Molly made her way over, occupying Rafe’s seat in the space across from her. “Poor Rafe,” she murmured.
Sophie frowned, pulling her jacket tighter across her chest like a shield of armor. “Poor Rafe? What?”
Molly nodded, lowering her voice a little. “Yeah, you didn’t hear? I’m surprised he’s at school, honestly.”
“I didn’t...what happened?”
“Oh.” Molly frowned. “Um. You know that winding road, the one that goes downhill toward the ballet studio?”
Sophie didn’t, she didn’t even have a clue - the ballet studio was on the entire opposite side of the island from where she lived, the height of Figure 8, and she hadn’t ever had a reason to even venture that way. “Yeah? What does that have to do with Rafe?”
“Um, well, it was pouring last night, and his mom was driving down that road. I heard she lost control of the car and wrecked it. There was, like, a drunk driver that swerved into her lane, but she tried to avoid him and hit a tree.” Molly told her, careful on the details.
“I’m pretty sure the Camerons can replace a car.” Sophie replied, not wanting Molly to confirm where she thought she was going with the story. She dug her nails into the skin of her thigh anyways, feeling anxiety bubble up in her chest.
Molly shook her head, slowly. “Mrs. Cameron died, Sophie.”
Her heart dropped and she bit the inside of her cheek, hard. “Oh.”
“Yeah. I’m surprised you didn’t hear the sirens last night, I saw like eight police cars last night headed toward his house. I heard Sarah was in the car too, I think -”
“Is Sarah okay?” She couldn’t concentrate on anything but her ears ringing, her heart pounding in her chest.
“Oh, yeah, I think so. But god, how awful, right? The funeral is next weekend, Ward Cameron told my dad this morning. Is your family going?”
“Um...I don’t know.” Sophie glanced toward the door, hoping to god he would come back through the door and Molly would confess that it was all a joke, that she hadn’t just started something with Rafe on that day of all days.
________
Rafe nodded. “Yeah. ‘Course she was. I think she really enjoyed it, actually, she’d always tell Sarah when she was little about how pretty she would look in the dress, how important it was to learn the right etiquette and -” He cut himself off, realizing he was sharing too much, and deftly fastened the clasp before pressing a kiss to the top of her head, letting her step away. “All that.”
“Huh.”
He smiled to himself, thinking about how his mom would let little Sarah play dress up in her old ballgown with gloves that went up to her armpits, wobbling around in high heels twice the size of her feet. His mom would tell Rafe he’d have to watch out for Sarah with her escort, keep him in line, and that when he was in college he’d be presenting a girl as well. But he was nine and didn’t think of girls in that way quite yet, so he always scowled and left the room.
“It’s kind of cool, I think. The tradition of it all.”
“The ball? Have you been?” She caught his eye in the mirror as she adjusted her top, not wanting to push for too much information before he’d shut down altogether.
“No...I was gonna present Brooklyn at the one here in Columbus, sophomore year’s normally when the girl gets presented, but. Yeah. No, I meant, it’s kind of cool that you’ll be doing something my mom did.” He rubbed the back of his neck, meeting her gaze for a moment then looked away.
“Yeah?”
“She would have liked you. I know it.”
Sophie perked up a little, cocking her head. “You really mean it?”
“Yeah. She would have liked that you have an attitude with me.” He grinned when she turned back around and took his hand, tugging him over to sit on the bed next to her. “She was always saying I needed to find someone to match my energy, keep me in check. I wish she could have met you.”
“I did meet her. Once.”
He perked up, cocking his head. “You did?”
“Yeah, I served her when I was working at the restaurant at the country club once, I was only fourteen. I remember she made some comment about me being too young to work and I told her I liked it. Then she asked my name, and I remember she seemed like she knew already when I told her.” Sophie nodded. “She was really nice, left way too big of a tip and wrote my name on the bill. I always thought that was funny.”
Of course she knew, Rafe thought as he smiled to himself. She knew, because Rafe had come home and complained about a girl getting on his nerves every single week since seventh grade. She knew, when the complaints turned to “why won’t just be nice to me” and his mom had quipped that Sophie probably liked him - he had scoffed and walked away. She knew, because his mom had come home from the country club and told him Sophie Flint was a much nicer girl than Rafe painted her to be, and Rafe had immediately turned bright red and been embarrassed that his mom sought her out.
“I like that.” She leaned into him, taking his hand to play with his rings. “Will your grandparents be there? At the ball?”
“Oh, yeah. They sit on the board, I’m pretty sure, it’s this gigantic charity event. I’ll introduce you, but don’t worry, they’re chill. Nothing like my dad.” He adjusted himself so she was comfortable, then pressed a kiss to the top of her head.
She chewed on the inside of her lip, treading carefully. “I thought your dad grew up on the Cut.”
“He did. But my mom, no way. Kook through and through. That’s, uh, where a lot of my trust is from. After she died, um. She wanted to be sure me and Sarah were set.” He shrugged, ears turning red as he felt his throat getting tight.
Sophie frowned, feeling him closing off, and leaned closer to hug him, arms wrapped tight around his waist. “You know you can talk to me about this stuff whenever, Rafe? I’d like to hear more about your mom. She sounds like an amazing woman.”
“She was.” He nodded, settling his arms around her shoulders and rested his chin on the top of her head, closing his eyes for a moment. “Thanks, Soph. This is a really big deal to me, that you’ll go. I know it’s not your scene.”
“Love you.” She murmured. “You’d better buy me a pretty dress.”
He laughed, leaning back just enough to tip up her chin with one finger and kiss her. “You’ll be the best looking one there. I swear.”
“Oh, I already knew that.”
“Okay, okay, big head -”
She swatted his arm, laughing as she ducked out from under him. “Watch it, or I won’t go -”
“I was kidding!” He exclaimed, wrestling with her for a moment before grabbing both her hands and pinning them above her head.
Sophie sucked in a breath, caught off guard. “We are going to be late.”
“We’re already late.” He pointed out, taking a moment to realize the lack of innocence in the position, then slowly smirked. “We could be later. They’re not gonna miss us.”
“Rafe.”
“Sophie.”
“No.”
“You’re positive?”
She just gave him a look, staring him dead in the eyes and willing herself not to react when he leaned down with a grin and kissed the bridge of her nose.
“Please?”
“Fine. The ball or sex right now. You choose.” She raised her eyebrows, arching her back a little on purpose, pressing her hips up against his.
“That’s not fair.” He frowned, immediately shifting his hips away and moving so both his knees were on either side of her instead. “This is blackmail.”
“Your choice.” She reminded him, biting her lip for good measure.
He faltered, sitting back on her thighs and letting go of her wrists. “Soph, it’s - it’s for my mom. I swear. Not for my dad, Rose, anyone else.”
Sophie dropped the teasing act right away, propping herself up on her elbows. “Right, right, sorry. I won’t push it.”
“It’s alright.” He climbed off her, standing, and offered his hands. “Five bucks James makes some joke about us being late because we were having sex.”
“I’m not taking you up on that.” She rolled her eyes, accepting his hand and pulled him into a hug. “Love you long time, Cameron.”
He smiled, pressing a kiss to the top of her head. “Love you too, favorite girl.”
“What do the dresses look like?”
“Uh...white?” Rafe shrugged, tugging on her hand to get her to follow him downstairs. “I dunno. When we go home for Thanksgiving I’ll book you an appointment to get fitted, I think it’s at some bridal shop on the mainland.”
“Sounds expensive.” She muttered, shaking her head.
“It’s…yeah. It’s not cheap.” He admitted, then shrugged as she followed him out the door, starting their walk toward the bars. “I’ll take care of it though. All of it. By the way, have you booked your flight home for Thanksgiving yet?”
“Um...no. I was going to look this week, it’s probably too late now though.”
“Hm.”
“Hm? Why, are you going home?”
Rafe nodded, not looking her in the eye. “Taking the plane.”
“Oh. Of course.”
“The plane...that no one else will be on...and it’s kinda ridiculous for you to waste money and carbon emissions on a separate flight…” He tried convincing her, a small smile playing on his lips as she rolled her eyes.
“You need to learn how carbon emissions work if you’re going to use that as an argument with me.”
“So that’s a no to sex on the plane?”
Sophie stopped in her tracks, confused. “That wasn’t - Rafe, what?”
“You, me, alone on the plane. Sorry, was I not clear enough?”
“I didn’t even say yes -”
“Oh, so you’re going to leave me all by myself on our one-year anniversary -”
She raised her eyebrows, challenging him. “When’s our anniversary, Rafe?”
He raised his back, stopping on the sidewalk to face her. “On my terms or yours? Because if we’re going with mine, it’s Halloween -”
“No, I had to ask you to be my boyfriend, it’s November 18th -”
“That is such an arbitrary thing, Sophie -”
“Hey! Stop stealing my vocabulary.” She interjected, pushing at his chest. “It’s the 18th, because I had to ask you out.”
“Okay. Whatever story makes you happy.” He shrugged, laughing when she shoved at him again. “Come on the plane with me.”
“...Fine. Only because I don’t want to miss our class reunion party on Wednesday night, I’m pretty sure some people still don’t believe we’re together.”
Rafe laughed loud at that, looping his arm around her shoulders and started walking again. “Pretty sure Topper still thinks it’s all an elaborate lie.”
“Does he know that we nearly hooked up in his room last winter break?”
“No.” He grinned. “Are you forgetting that you had to sprint into his bathroom right when I was about to kiss you because of some tequila thing you had?”
She tilted her head slightly. “You’re remembering wrong. That was sophomore year, before we were dating, I barely drank last year...you almost kissed me?”
“What? No, I think...remember, we were arguing over something, then you whispered in my ear to go up to his room and left. I went up a couple minutes later.” He shook his head. “I wasn’t going to make a move, Brooklyn and I were together then.”
Sophie scowled at the mention of Brooklyn. “I must have been hammered, I don’t remember any of this.”
“You wanted me.” He smirked, trailing his fingers along her collarbone. “One might say desperate.”
“No, no. All I remember is waking up in Topper’s bed feeling like shit, I had some crewneck on from your academy.” She ignored the blush creeping up her neck.
“How do you think you got there and got the sweatshirt?” He frowned. “I took care of you, Sophie. You really don’t remember?”
“I think I blacked out.” She confessed, shaking her head. “You took care of me?”
“Of course I did. Plus, I thought I was about to get some, I would have done anything for you.” He grinned, laughing when she shoved his shoulder. “Really thought that was the night I’d finally win you over.”
“Yeah, well, you can blame Sarah for her heavy pour that night.” She shook her head, smiling fondly. “I really wish I remembered that.”
“I wish you remembered too. Maybe you would have given me a chance before then instead of setting me up with Julia.”
“I - no! She asked to be set up with you, no, I did not instigate that at all.” She defended herself straightaway, cheeks flushing pink. “She said if I wasn’t going to make a move, then she was going to.”
“Sure. Whatever you believe.” He teased, pressing a kiss to the top of her head as they arrived at the bar. “Hey, Soph.”
She rolled her eyes, going to get in the winding line outside until he tugged her wrist back, pulling her to his chest. “What?”
“Thank you. I mean it.”
Sophie softened, smiling as she rose up on her toes to kiss him. “Of course, baby. I’ve got your back.”

ok i saw this cap of zoë kravitz in hf and she's got such a dreamy expression, she looks so deeply self-absorbed and infatuated by whatever she's imagining and those lines. and i couldn't stop picturing billy exactly like that for days so,
,
There’s a pretty unusual sound coming off the house when Max comes back home, that summer afternoon.
Full volume. Walls shaking. And she quietly walks to the source of the sound, holding back her breath right in front of Billy's room because, there's this second sound? Stranger and way more unsettling and Max's not sure-sure at first but then Steve Perry’s voice takes off and Billy’s follows it and then he's like, singing along and. Well. Max did know Billy liked Journey but not like, their 'stuff for pussies' but uhm, he does, apparently. Rasps his voice all the way through ‘Faithfully’. Kind of, sighs. Longingly? When it ends? But pfff, ok, big brothers are weird. Definitely weirder after being possessed and then kind of resurrected. Even if it's in a good-weird way but, whatever. So Max's just about to sneak to her room, dutifully rolling her eyes, steps muffled by the first chords of 'Edge of the blade' when―
Click. Click. Billy stops the tape. Click. Takes it out. Tap. Tap. Click. Puts on― Billy puts. On,
Heaven.
Bryan Adams’ Heaven.
And Max―
Being a younger sister is a meticulous kind of full-time, private detective job. You gotta learn how the person you’ve been watching so carefully for years and years works. Hafta develop some sort of―sense about your target. And Billy’s been—un-Billy-like? These past two months. Smiling more. Telling more jokes. Playing ‘You shook me all night long’ in a loop on their drive to school and back, not complaining at all but even joining when’s Max who can’t help but sing along so.
So. She retraces her steps. Knocks. Takes the distracted grunt she gets as a ‘Yeahyeah, c’mon in c’mon in’ and,
Creak. Creak. ‘―baby you’re all that I want’
“Billy?”
Billy’s sitting cross-legged on the floor. Radio close to his knees. Cassettes scattered everywhere. Piles and piles of breakwater surrounding Billy’s old, rusty beacon of sound. He’s reading through the song-list of one of the tapes, a smoke locked on the corner of his mouth, bouncing up and down with every little, absent suck he takes, and he looks. He looks―
Self-absorbed and even. Relaxed. Happy. Like whatever he’s thinking about right now is actually carrying his thoughts away to fucking heaven.
“Ehh”
“Uh-hu?”
‘When you’re lying here in my arms!’
“Billy are you. What―” ‘I'm findin' it hard to believe. We're in heaven’ “What are you doing?”
But there’s this orbit around the sun and then there’s whatever one Billy's been spinning along with the last couple of months so he completely ignores her question. Shakes the tape on his left hand. Picks another one from the pile on his right. Asks her.
“Is Billy Ocean too much? ‘Cause I think it’s too much. But it kind of fits into what I'm trying to say so” he says, shrugs, looking up at Max and waiting for the answer of what she realizes was not really a question. Not at all. So she does her little sister job and just, nods “Right. That’s good. I think it’ll slide just nicely into Bruce Springsteen and―”
“Billy” Max insists, waiting for the charm of the third time to work. It doesn’t. Not really. But keeps Billy's eyes on her long enough to squeeze an “A mixtape?” And, uh. That’s what gets it on. The charm “Are you making a mixtape?”
“Uh?”
And it’s like Max just shook Billy out of a daydream. Ash plopping down from his cigarette as his lips try but can’t purse and Max― she’s good. She’s stellar at this detective thing. Recognizes an opening the moment she sees it, right there in front of her, frozen in the middle of shaking Billy Ocean and Bruce Springsteen in the air right before cocktailing them together. Shaken, not stirred, please. Max’s upgraded to James Bond-level just right now.
“You’re making a mixtape for someone”
“Oh-nonoMaxi―”
“But you didn’t have those tapes before. Not even in your secret stash”
“How do yo―?”
“Holy. ShIT. You’ve been listening to somebody else’s music” This is. Oh, God. This. Is. GOLD. Max gotta take a moment. Blink. Breathe. Process. Her hands move by themselves, palms spread toward Billy in a wait-a-minute kind of gesture except. Max’s gonna need way more than a minute for this “You’ve accepted a music recommendation”
“Maaaaax”
“Gosh, you’ve even listened to the tapes enough to. Make―”
“Max!”
“I just can’t believe it”
And Max was glad. Well. As glad as one can be. Bunch weeks ago. Her mom and Neil out for the day. Coming back home a little earlier than she usually does to hear those ugh. Those other noises. Happy screams. Again. After months and months of Billy being basically alone except for her and the party and Steve. And Max’s so glad, of course she is. But she’s also a little sister. And all this investigation work has a high, rightful purpose.
Make her big brother’s life a living. Hell.
“Oh my god, you must be so gone!” Max brings her hands to her mouth. Takes a deep, deep breath that’s more a poorly restrained giggle. Shoots her index at him “Is it Bon Jovi? What I’m seeing right there? Goddam, Billy are you in lo―”
Bam.
Bam. Bam!
The front door.
What a way to spoil the fun. Max doesn’t have time for this. She’s working.
“BILLY?” comes a voice from the other side “Billy are you in there?”
Steve.
Oh.
What a way to make the fun a hundred times better.
Bam.Bam.Bam!
She’s starting to move to get to the door, sinsonging “Well, I guess Steve’s gonna find out you’re so stupid in love you’re willingly listening to―” when she realizes Billy’s eyes have widened and he’s jerkingly trying to unfreeze, he’s mumbling something in around his already extinguished cigarette in the ways of “Can’t” and “Find out” and “Surprise” and “Fucking help me!” While literally trying to shove the huge mass of tapes under his bed, his tone like hurryhurryhurry!, like he would start gagging and throwing his lungs out at any given minute, so nervous he looks.
So Max doesn’t go for the door. Yet. She basks in the enjoyment.
“Oh, is it a secret romance or something?” She sighs happily, leaning against the doorframe instead. “‘Cause you look pretty worried”
Steve’s banging the door now, voice wavering a little as he asks-shouts “Billy? Billy answer me! Hey, bab―Are you ok?”
“Max, please” Billy begs. Begs. Crawling over to where a Madonna’s Like a virgin is laying with the tape looping slightly out “He really can’t find out”
“What? That you’re in lo-o-oh-oh-OH―”
Billy stops at the tone, right there on his knees. Spits his forgotten cig to the side. And in the instant it seems to take him to make up his mind they both can hear Steve shout “Ok. I know you’re in there!. I’m coming in now!!”
“Fuck! Yeah. I am. Ok?” he looks like he just realized he’s tripped. Blushes. “Making it, I mean”
BAM!
And Ohhhhhhh.
Zero-fucking-zero-fucking-seven.
“Steve,” Max gasps. Because. Hear it makes it like. Easier. To process “You. And Steve”
B A M!
“Yeah, Max, Yeah. And this is a fucking surprise and he’s gonna―”
‘I've been waitin' for so long. For somethin' to arrive. For love to come along’
Ok. Oh. Okok.
“Door!” Max hastens him.
“What?”
“You. Door. Run!” She commands, and Billy― sometimes Max can’t honestly understand how he's got the grades he's got, because Billy blinks, looks clueless “C’mon slow ass. Hurry! I’ll hide all this shit”
And Billy finally gets it. Nods. Slow. Then fast. Stumbles up. Literally runs, to get to the door.
Max still gets to hear his labored “Fuck, pretty boy. “That was really hardcore of you. That's how bad you wanted to see me?” And Steve's own breathless “Really?” Before pushing Billy's room door close with her back, and kneeling on the floor to check for stray, incriminating cassettes.
Pretty boy. Maybe Max isn't as clever as she thought she is. Or hasn’t been doing her job right, clearly.
It's when she’s making ‘It’s a kind of magic’ disappear into the rest of the pile that she lays eyes on it. The case. The J-card written almost all the way down to the B-side already. A mixture of songs Billy's heard so many times there are parts where his tapes screech, and others she'd bet her life he wouldn’t have deigned to listen to. Not ever. Definitely not because―no, for, somebody. Bowie and Cher and Cindy Lauper and Bob Seger right next to Metallica and Guns n' Roses and Meatloaf and― there. There. Almost hidden in the back of the spine. A note. A tiny, thin-lettered thing Max really, really shouldn't be reading but―
‘Thanks for driving me back.
Love. Billy’
But. That's what little sisters do too, she guesses. Intrude. Annoy. Snoop. Feel this sudden rush of relief. Of happiness. When Billy laughs softly, on the other side of the door. When Steve laughs back. Maybe a tear. Or two. But just maybe. She’s really good at this little sister thing, after all.
Hopes for stellar.
,
or: that post s3 where steve lets a camaro-less billy drive him around in his own car "really? again, hargrove?" almost every single day, for months, after he comes back, because "you’re gonna perpetually stick yourself to my ass at least let me do the one thing that frikin’ calms me down" which results in steve resigning himself to deejaying in the shotgun even if "jesus, what's that shit, harrington?" "my car, my rules, sweetheart" which results in billy developing a ‘songs steve harrington is in love with’ mental playlist, realizing he’s probably a little bit in love with the way he loves them and, possibly, a little much love with steve and then stealing steve's tapes one day and,
making a mixtape about it.
(the first of a whole lot, of love letters)

Her Promise
Tumblr media

Though he was born just 27 days after you, it seems like he was a lot older than you in terms of his maturity. You don’t understand why the bad blood between you two. Until one day, you had been arranged for a marriage with him so suddenly.
Theme: arranged marriage au, enemies to lovers
Genre: angst, sad, fluff
Warnings: mentions of leukaemia, death, alcohol, swearing
WC: 10k
Pairing: Lee Sangyeon x Fem!Reader
a/n: Hello! This plot just randomly came to mind. It's kind of sad and a little angsty but you'll get through reading it. I promise! also, the words in italics is a flashback :)
Tumblr media
Your family has been a close family friend to the Lee’s family and that was because your mother and Mrs Lee were best friends since high school. Also the reason why you were only 27 days older than Mr and Mrs Lee’s only son. However, not everyone has a happy friendship. In this case, it was you and the said son. His name was Lee Sangyeon and it was pretty obvious that you two could never get along since you were in diapers.
Despite your mothers being best friends and have been for the past 30 years, give or take. It’s no wonder that when they were pregnant with the both of you, they kept fighting with each other over small silly things when they barely got past even the slightest of arguments throughout their friendship.
And yet, it seems like luck was never on your side to begin with because throughout your whole education life up till today, he always ends up in your school or at least the school that you chose specifically hoping to be as far from him as possible.
It always baffles you how he would be the first person you spot amongst the crowd during the first day of school.
Did he do all these on purpose?
Why would he go to this extent just to annoy you if you both hated each other?
Maybe he didn’t in fact do this on purpose, but still, what are the odds that you end up in the same campus amongst the hundreds of schools available? That was a mystery you never plan on solving.
It was a bright Tuesday afternoon, students were scattered all over the large campus of Hangang University. You had just parked your car in a free space, exiting your vehicle before proceeding to lock it and walk towards the Computer Science building. You were halfway through the parking lot when someone suddenly swung an arm over your shoulder.
“Good morning my favourite person in the world!” Lisa giggled to your left as Rosie appeared on your right with her usual beaming smile that could melt hearts with just a glance.
“Hey girls, you’re early” You asked with a soft chuckle knowing Lisa was always late for class.
“Yeah, I wanted to leave my apartment now like I always do but Rosie begged me to drive her today because her baby is in the workshop.” Lisa huffs, only for the blonde girl on your right to defend herself.
“Hey, at least we got here on time. You’re welcome.”
With that, Lisa stuck out her tongue at Rosie, earning a laugh from you. The three of you continued to walk to the CS building, only to find Jennie and Jisoo chatting by the lockers while Jennie scavenged through her locker.
Tumblr media
“Ew, is it just me or is the barbeque chicken a little dry today?” Jisoo scowls as she drops the chicken leg back onto her plate.
“No, I agree. It’s foul.” Lisa’s face contorts in disgust before you speak up.
“Do you guys want my salmon instead? I'm kind of full already.” You said, only to find them staring at you in concern. They began asking you if you were feeling okay and if you needed any medication of any sorts. To which you shook your head and just told them you were already full from the breakfast your mother made for you before she left for work with your dad.
Lisa and Jisoo ended up sharing your salmon piece, making you smile. At least your food wouldn’t be wasted, you thought.
A few hours later, your classes for the day were finally over. All you know is that your bed has been waiting for your arrival since the minute you left for school. You left class slightly later, telling the girls you had something to discuss with your lecturer regarding the assignment.
You told them to just head home first and not wait for you.
Almost 20 minutes later, you finally left the lecture room to head towards the parking lot where you had parked your car earlier. Your mind was clouded with the assignment requirements as you scrolled through the soft copy of the assignment through your email, too caught up in your thoughts to notice the group of boys walking down the hall.
That wasn’t until your shoulder roughly collided against someone’s back. It sent your whole body to stumble back from the impact. You were about to apologize when you heard a snicker coming from whoever it was.
So you glanced up and lord behold, it was just the person you were looking for…
Not really.
“Can you pay attention to where you walk? It’s not that hard to use your eyes.” Sangyeon’s voice was monotonous yet a pitch higher than others, just like his ego.
“That’s because you’re in my way, Lee.” You said sarcastically as you walked past him, not forgetting to purposely bump into his arm. He let out a scoff under his breath, fiery glare burning a prominent hole into the back of your head.
God, you can be such a pain in the ass sometimes. Him included.
A few days later, it was finally a Friday. You heard words going around campus saying that one of the seniors in the school’s football team was having a frat party at his place tonight. He invited everyone in the football team, and people that he knew. Turns out he also told his teammates to bring whoever they wanted whether he knows them or not.
Lucky for you (or maybe not), Rosie’s boyfriend happens to be one of the football players. If you remember correctly, his name is Yunhyeong.
And so you already know where this is going.
Hence, the reason why you were now standing right outside the house where the party was held.
No doubt the house was a beautiful landed property at the hills that overlooked the city, it still didn’t give you complete comfort knowing that you would be surrounded by drunk young adults who have no care in the world once the alcohol takes over their system.
Sure you sometimes go to these parties but you weren’t really that type of girl. It’s always an unpleasant surprise to others who aren't your girls, when you decline their offers of alcohol saying you don’t drink.
Though there were instances where you’d have some people still insisting on giving you a drink, you rejected them firmly whether they liked it or not.
And today was no different.
One moment, you were talking to your friends. Another moment, and you were suddenly left alone by the kitchen island. Isolating yourself from the countless intoxicated bodies, dancing freely without a single care in the world.
It suddenly dawned on you that you were indeed alone, with no other individual that you recognize in that huge house. Your friends were scattered around the main living area, each of them either with their significant other or just randomly hooking up with someone. Using alcohol as an excuse to be brave and approach someone at a party like this.
You sighed, reaching into your back pocket to fish for your phone. You were so close to texting them you wanted to head home first, when a deep voice broke your little bubble of thoughts.
“Hey… Y/N right?” The handsome boy asked as he smiled down at you softly.
He clearly didn’t seem too drunk, nor was he completely sober like you.
“Yeah… you are?” You asked, hoping you didn’t sound like a bitch.
“I’m Changkyun. I see your friends have left you so I thought maybe you’d want some company?”
Well, at least he’s being considerate enough.
“About that… I was actually about to-” As you were talking, your eyes were searching the room for at least one of the girls. But instead, your gaze was locked on a specific individual who was leaning against the staircase railings just staring at you with a subtle frown on his face, making your voice halt in your throat.
It was Sangyeon.
You should’ve known he would be there tonight. He’s the freaking midfielder in Hangang U’s soccer team for goodness sake!
For some reason, the moment you met his eyes, it was as though you got sucked into a black hole with no way to escape. That wasn’t until the warm touch on your arm made you jolt away and soon turned back to Changkyun who was now staring at you with worry.
“Hey? You okay? What’s wrong?” He asked, hoping he didn’t scare you away by that simple touch.
“Y-Yeah… Sorry Changkyun, but I think I’m gonna head home. See you around.” You gave him a sincere smile before turning to leave after he said his goodbye.
There is no way you’re gonna stay there any longer. It’s not like you were drunk or anything. Not like you’d expected him to show up in black leather pants, dark grey button down shirt tucked in, his sleeves rolled up to his elbows, his hair parted close to the middle to frame his face and show his forehead, attractively. And definitely not like you felt as though your stomach was doing a flip in your abdomen after seeing him there physically.
Right?
No. You still hate him. He’s just a walking nuisance in your life. You don’t feel anything for him. Maybe he needs to stop appearing in your line of vision every 5 minutes.
It’s been two weeks since that frat party in which you had texted your friends saying you were already at home. Of course you didn’t get a response immediately but they still replied to you the next morning, telling you they were safe and they were glad that you were too.
It was a rainy Wednesday afternoon where students were all stuck on campus with nowhere to go. You were just seated at a wooden table alone with your laptop and scattered notes on the surface when the ray of sunlight that was previously shining down on you, got blocked by a figure.
You glanced up and not surprisingly, it was Sangyeon. He was alone. For once. He was always with his friends, so you wondered why he chose to walk around alone today.
“What?” You asked nonchalantly before looking back down at your laptop.
You heard a scoff from him only for him to speak up, “Did your parents tell you?”
You got confused as you looked back up to him and blinked, incredulously at what he just asked you.
“Tell me what?” You asked. He wasn’t sure if he was faking it or not but he figured with how genuinely confused you look, it was quite clear you weren’t pretending to not know what he was referring to.
“My parents are coming over to your home this weekend to discuss ‘something serious’. I’m not going. I’m not about to sit there and listen to what the ‘something serious’ is, let alone sit there trapped and stare at you the whole night.” Sangyeon said blankly as he burned holes in your head.
“Good. I wouldn’t want you there anyway.” You scoffed, only for him to push himself off the table and smoothed down his shirt.
Sangyeon left without saying anything else, watching as he turned his head as though in search of his friends. However, the minute you looked back down at your laptop, it seems like you missed the way he glanced at you subtly before turning back in front.
That same day, you went home to find your parents in the living room. Your father was watching the news on the flat screen tv while your mother was just watering the potted plants on the shelves.
The minute you stepped into the living room, your father turned to you and smiled brightly, “Oh, sweetie you’re back. We wanted to tell you that Mr and Mrs-” but before he could finish, you did it for him, stunning them in the process.
“-Lee are coming over this weekend to discuss ‘something serious’... I know.”
With that, your mother and father glanced at each other before a smile appeared on their faces again. You already knew what they were about to ask so you beat them to it.
“Sangyeon told me… So what’s so serious that they wanna come over here and talk about it?” You asked, not knowing what to expect but all you got was silence.
“We have to wait till everyone’s there.”
“Not everyone’s gonna be there…” You said.
“What do you mean?” Your mother asked.
“Sangyeon said he’s not coming. He doesn't want to.”
“B-But, he has to be there. It’s important.”
“What’s so important that he has to be there for?” Your voice laced with annoyance at the thought of having to sit in a room with him for minutes too long. Your parents got quiet before your mother spoke up again but for some reason, her voice sounded weak.
“You’ll know on Saturday.” She gave you a weak smile. Too weak to the point that she almost looks… pale?
Why is she pale?
But your mind was too jumbled up with what the main topic for this said family dinner would revolve around. Hence, why you were now sprinting up the steps and to your room. You didn’t want to think about it anymore. You just hoped the weekend passes by before you know it.
Tumblr media
Saturday came in a flash and to say you were ready for whatever family gathering this was, is definitely a lie. You were curious. You were desperate to know just what important business is there to discuss with you and Sangyeon. Despite knowing he won’t be there for whatever this meeting is about, it still rendered you curious on just how important this said matter is.
You were told to look presentable even though you’ll just be at home. So you pulled out the nicest outfit you could find and just opted for a simple blouse and your denim jeans.
Once you were done getting ready, you left your room only to hear your mother calling out to you from downstairs, “Y/N sweetie, the Lee’s are here!”
You made your way down the marbled steps, ready to greet the elder couple when your eyes fell on their son who clearly said he wasn’t going to be here. But of course, it looked like he had been forced against his own will to be here and you were right.
“Oh! My sweet Y/N! It’s been so long. How are you my dear?” Mrs Lee asked as you broke your gaze from Sangyeon only to smile happily when you looked at his parents.
“Hello Mr and Mrs Lee. I’m doing well despite my crazy uni life. I hope you’re both well and healthy!” You said as Mrs Lee hugged you warmly like how she had been doing since you were young.
After greeting them, the 6 of you began walking to your dining room. You then turned to Sangyeon who was walking beside you, only to ask out of curiosity, “Didn’t you say you weren’t gonna come?”
With that, he turns to you and shoots daggers at you through his glare but it does nothing to scare you away.
“Do I look like I wanna be here?”
“Clearly.” You said, just to get on his nerves and it did.
“Fuck you.”
“I’d gladly fuck myself too.”
Sangyeon frowns at your comment despite knowing it was sarcastic. But he still found it amusing that it came out from your mouth. Sure you’ve cursed him a lot of times when you fought with him, but this was a different thing.
All of you finally sat down in the dining room, you helped your mother set the table.
A few minutes went by and everyone was just chatting amongst one another. Well, more specifically the elders while you and Sangyeon simply sat there across each other in silence. You were absentmindedly picking on your food, suddenly losing appetite.
All you wanted was for them to start discussing the very important business. Which is why your patience has run thin, making you blurt out the question that has been floating in your head since Wednesday.
“What’s the important thing you called me and Sangyeon here for?”
The room fell silent as you kept your eyes on your plate of untouched food. Completely ignoring the way Sangyeon had his eyes trained on you. After what felt like hours, your mother finally announced it.
It made your heart stop for a moment.
“We have decided to marry you off with Sangyeon.”
That was the last thing you ever wanted to hear from them. Never did you expect it to be this. Why were they doing this to you? Of course you know you’re single and not dating anyone but still… How could they?
“What?!” Both you and Sangyeon said in unison.
Tension filled the air, thick in its wake. You couldn’t look elsewhere except for your mother who had announced the news.
“You’ve got to be kidding me…” You mumbled under your breath as Sangyeon got up, letting the chair drag painfully across the wooden floor. His mother grabbed his wrist to stop him but he roughly yanked his wrist from her and simply replied with his firm answer, “There’s no way I’m marrying her. I’m out.”
Sangyeon stormed out and you were so tempted to do the same but all you could do was glare at your parents in disbelief.
“Sweetie-” Your mom began but you were quick to interject.
“No! That’s not happening! Mom, you know we hate each other! How can you ask me to marry him when I don’t even love him?!” Your voice was raised as you stood up from your seat. Blood boils in your veins, heart pounding rapidly in your chest out of pure anger. You wanted nothing more but to scream.
You turned in your heels to leave but your mother caught your hands when you were about to reach the stairs. You pulled your hand from her grip, throwing your arm behind your back from the force.
“Sweetie please, listen to me-”
“No mom! I’m not marrying him and that’s final!” You yelled, too furious to even notice the way your mom had clutched her chest as her breathing started to become shallow.
Before you knew it, your mother collapsed to the ground but you were quick to catch her body right when she was about to crash onto the hard wooden floor.
“Mom!” You gasped as your dad and both of Sangyeon’s parents rushed over to where you were.
Mr Lee called the ambulance in which they came just 10 minutes later, carrying your mother’s unconscious body onto the stretcher and bringing her into the ambulance. Your father followed her in the vehicle while Mr Lee offered you a ride there.
Hours passed and you were waiting patiently outside the ER when a doctor came out. Your dad rushed over so you could only guess that she was the one who attended to your mom.
“Doctor, how’s my wife?”
“Your wife’s still under constant checks but so far, her heart is beating stably. However, it seems that her abnormal white blood cells have rapidly multiplied since her last check up.” The doctor said, making you frown.
“White blood cells? What’s going on? What’s wrong with my mother?” You asked desperately, still not sure of what’s going on.
“Your mother was diagnosed with Leukaemia stage 2 but from what I saw today, I believe it’s now up to stage 4.” The doctor announced, making you even more confused.
“What?” You whispered as you stared at your dad, hoping that it’s not true. But all you got was a disheartened smile that broke you into a million pieces.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” You whispered to him sadly, upset that they’ve been keeping this a secret from you.
“I’m sorry baby, but your mother told me not to. She… She didn’t want you to get worried.” He replied.
You don’t understand. You knowing about this was better than keeping it hidden from you. If you had known about this sooner, you wouldn’t have shouted at her. Instead, you would have taken extra care of her. You would have given her more love than what she gave you. And you wouldn’t have to stand here, right now, hoping for your mother’s safety and health.
You slumped onto one of the chairs, staring into space as your father rubbed soft circles into your back to calm you down.

Three days passed and you have been visiting your mother at the hospital diligently after your classes. You stayed till night time, allowing your dad to fetch you from the hospital after he also came by to visit your mom.
You were currently alone in the room with your mom as your dad went out to buy dinner for all three of you.
She was just lying there sleeping peacefully after having a deep conversation with her about some things, her eyes now closed, breathing consistent, chest heaving up and down according to her oxygen intake.
You were just about to doze off when the heart rate monitor suddenly began beeping rapidly. It caused you to panic as you ran out of the room to call for the nurses.
When you came back, your mother was shaking on the hospital bed. Tears started streaming down your face as you found yourself curled up in the corner just watching the hospital staff do whatever is necessary to help your mother.
You didn’t notice your dad who had just come back, only to rush to you after putting the food down on the desk. It was when he cupped your face, that you finally realized his presence.
He pulled you against him as you couldn’t tear your eyes off your mother’s figure, shaking violently on the bed.
It was as though someone had dropped a bomb just a few feet away, a deafening silence pierced your ear drums followed by the single beep sound that was continuous without a pause. The sound soon became a mere ring in your ears.
You slowly brought your line of sight towards the heart rate monitor beside your mother’s bed and that’s when you saw it. The painful straight line with no spikes going up or down.
That’s when you knew, she was gone.
No. This can’t be real. This is just a dream. Wake up Y/N. Pinch yourself. Slap yourself. Do whatever it is to wake yourself up from this nightmare!
And yet, you’re still there in your dad’s arms listening to the nurse who wrote down the words you never hoped to hear.
“Patient is Jeong Hyemin. Time of death, 2143hrs.”
All the more you cried harder against your father’s chest. You were broken. Completely and utterly broken. Your mother left you before you could even say goodbye. She left before you could even tell her that you love her unconditionally even though you told her that everyday.
As much as your heart hurts, you knew you had to accept it. You knew you had to be strong for your mother. And that was exactly what you did.
The next whole week, you didn’t come to school. You emailed your lecturers personally and told them about your loss. They all sent you their well wishes for you and your dad, to which they excused you from school to attend your mother’s funeral. It broke you but you couldn’t collapse just then.
Your mother would want you to be happy, to continue living a wonderful life, with or without her. And that’s exactly what you were gonna do.
Tumblr media
The next two weeks came as a blur and you were dreading for the day to finally arrive. You couldn’t bring yourself to look in the mirror and see what you looked like. Because at that very moment, you were in an item of clothing where you never thought you would wear anytime soon.
It was a wedding dress. Your wedding dress. It has finally come to this.
Your makeup stylist did a few touch ups to your eyeshadow whilst another lady adjusted the bow on your waist that separates your laced top with your beautiful silk gown that drops to the floor elegantly behind you.
If you were being honest, you had hoped for this very day to come when you would walk down the aisle with your arm linked with your dad’s while your mother stood at the front row, watching you proudly. Witnessing you entering a new life with your chosen partner whom you’d love with all your heart.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t the case for you and it hurts you. But you kept telling yourself the same thing over and over again.
“I have to stay strong.”
That was the last thing you mumbled to yourself as you left the bride’s room, only to head towards the outdoor wedding ceremony where your parents had already booked an incredibly beautiful mansion located at the highest hills of the city.
It was a small ceremony with only your family and his, and very close relatives of both sides but that was it. None of your friends were there but you already told them about today.
Little did you know, his friends knew about it too.
You were approaching the outdoor garden where everyone was waiting for you when all of a sudden, your emotions started swirling in you.
A tear rolled down your cheek the minute you saw your dad standing at the doorway which leads you directly down the aisle. Your dad gave you a soft smile before cupping your face and kissing your forehead. He wiped the tear away with his thumb as he whispered, “You look so beautiful, sweetheart. I’m sure your mother would be so happy to see you like this.”
With that, you had to force your tears back, swallowing them as you nodded before linking your arm with his.
The song started playing and soon, both of you began to walk down the aisle. The first thing you saw was Sangyeon standing at the foot of the platform. He was wearing a navy blue tuxedo, looking quite handsome if you were being completely honest.
But the frown on his face was evident enough for you to know that he didn’t like this as much as you didn’t like this either.
Once you were standing just two feet away, you turned to your dad who kissed you again on the forehead before putting your hand in Sangyeon’s outstretched ones. After your dad left your side, Sangyeon guided you up the steps carefully.
His touch was soft, almost as if he wasn’t touching you at all. Minutes went by and right after you’ve both said your vows, it was time for the exchange of rings and sealing the deal with a kiss but of course, neither of you agreed to it. So when you were officially announced as husband and wife, you both looked at each other with a familiarity in your eyes which screamed “I hate all of this”.
Sangyeon lets out a soft groan before planting a chaste kiss to your temple, pulling away as soon as he kisses.
Both of you walked back down the aisle and once you were in the mansion, it took you less than a second to walk away from him and make your way straight to the bride’s makeup room.
Sangyeon didn’t bother to call for you as he too made his way to the common room, wanting to be as far away from you as possible. He hated every single minute of this. He never wanted this. But he was being forced to. And he doesn’t even know why.
When he heard from his parents that you accepted the arranged marriage, it baffled him.
You were both so adamant on rejecting this whole fiasco during that night of the dinner so what changed your mind?
That was a question he could never solve.
Tumblr media
Days became weeks and you had moved into the new home that his parents and yours bought for Sangyeon and you to live in. It was a beautiful one story home that had 3 bedrooms, one study room, one living room and a backyard complete with a swimming pool. You were thankful for the home but you didn’t think it was necessary considering the state that you and Sangyeon were being put in.
Nevertheless, you didn’t want to disappoint the elders. Hence the reason why you moved in with Sangyeon without a single argument with your dad and in-laws.
Unfortunately, the fact that you two were now living under the same roof, it was quite expected of you to end up fighting over the smallest little things. If being within radius of each other on campus brought unnecessary snickers and curses to one another, living under the same roof only heightened those said things by 80%.
There wasn’t a day where you could walk around the house peacefully unless the other wasn't home.
It has been 8 weeks since you lived there with him. Despite the constant fights and heated arguments that the two of you often get into, none of it leads to the other doing unfaithful things behind each other’s back.
Before the marriage, it was quite clear that you weren’t in any sort of relationship with anyone nor were you the kind to sleep around with strangers you just met at a club or parties. Whereas, Sangyeon on the other hand was completely that, except he too was single. He tends to sleep around with girls he met at a party or the clubs he went to.
But never did he actually pursue any of his one night stands because he simply didn’t feel that way for them.
However, when he got married to you despite being against it, he made a promise to himself that he should not do all those things to you even if he doesn’t love you. Because he knows that it’s wrong and that he despises people who cheat on their partners.
For that, he told himself not to be that monster.
And he didn’t. Thankfully.
But that doesn’t mean he couldn’t storm out of the house after an argument just to get fresh air and be away from you at that very moment.
This goes both ways as sometimes, you would do the same if you couldn’t stand being in radius of him.
But tonight was different.
You were just washing the dishes when the front door opened to reveal a very drained Sangyeon who had just gotten back from the gym.
He strolled through down the hallway with his duffle bag strap resting on his right shoulder, the wet patches on his grey tank top sticking to his torso, black track shorts resting on his hips. His hair was slicked back from being drenched in sweat.
You spared him a quick glance over your shoulder before you turned back to the dirty dishes. Unfortunately for you, he caught you glancing just in time.
He walked past you to go to the fridge after putting his bag down on the floor, opening it and immediately grabbing the bottle of iced water sitting there patiently for him to take it. He downed half the bottle in less than 5 seconds, only to hear him let out a satisfied sigh right after.
You remained quiet as he looked at you for a moment, a small part of him wanted to ask you if you’ve eaten but a bigger part of him, more so his ego, was telling him to walk away.
For some reason, he decided to go with the former. Something he hasn’t been doing all these years.
“Had your dinner yet?” He asked, making you turn off the tap after setting down the clean dish onto the rack above your head before turning to him with a slight confusion on your face.
“Mhm. You?”
“Not yet.” He said as he leaned his hip against the counter top.
“What do you feel like eating?” You asked, wiping your hands dry with the towel hanging off the hook on the wall.
“I kind of have the feel for kimchi fried rice… I’ll just make do with what is there in the fridge. No worries.” Sangyeon said with a soft smile on his face before he left to take a long shower. Something he always did when he had a lot going on in his mind.
The minute he left, you stared at his descending back for a minute before turning back with a confused frown on your face.
Sangyeon was in the shower for almost 20 minutes. Taking a warm bath to calm his tensed muscles due to the intense workout he did with Juyeon and Hyunjae earlier. After his stress relieving bath, Sangyeon changed into a pair of sweatpants and his oversized shirt he normally uses to sleep.
He towel dried his hair, leaving it in an utter mess on his head with no care whatsoever.
He simply brushed through his wet locks with his fingers haphazardly before leaving his bedroom toilet. Sangyeon and you weren’t sharing bedrooms. It was just a mutual agreement right from the first night together.
You took the master bedroom in this house while he took the second bedroom.
Sangyeon was just walking down the hall, scratching the back of his head randomly when he caught a strong whiff of something delicious filling his nostrils.
“What the?” He whispered to himself as he cautiously made his way closer to the end of the hall. The minute he made a right turn, that’s when he saw you scooping out the contents of the pan into a clean plate. To his surprise, it was the exact dish he told you he was planning to cook earlier.
He finally stepped out of the shadows, only to startle you.
You flinched but that was it.
“Hey… I figured you’d be too tired to cook so I made it for you. Just leave the plate in the sink after you’re done. I’ll wash it later.” You pressed your lips into a small little smile before placing the dish on the kitchen island together with a spoon.
Right when you were about to leave the kitchen, his voice stopped you from walking any further only to hear him whisper a soft “thank you” to you.
You gave him a nod and soon left.
Sangyeon stares at your descending back before you disappear from his trail of sight, only to then tilt his head in amusement at your sudden kind act. For some reason, he found himself smiling as he took a mouthful of your delicious fried rice.
Another 3 weeks went by and you had just gotten back from your night study session with Lisa and Jennie, only to find Sangyeon slumped on the couch. He had his face buried in his hands as he looked like he hadn’t slept for days.
You frowned as you locked the door and soon went over to stand behind the long couch, diagonally from the couch he was sitting at.
“Rough day?” You asked quietly, but all you got was silence so you tried again.
“Have you eaten?”
Silence.
“Do you want anything to eat?”
Silence.
“Sangyeon, even if you hate me, at least say yes or no so I can-” And that’s when he bursts.
“Shut the fuck up!” Sangyeon yelled as he glared at you. His nostrils flared upon every heavy breath he took. You were stunned by his harsh tone, clearly not wanting any argument when you first asked the question.
“Excuse me?” You asked with a tone that was pretty obvious to anyone that you were clearly offended by his words.
“Didn’t you hear me?! I said shut the fuck up!” Sangyeon stood tall, his face red as you could only imagine he was stressed about something. A scoff left your lips, feeling the anger seeping through your skin with every word he said to you.
“Why? Why do you want me to shut the fuck up so badly?!” You asked as you stared at him with mixed emotions.
“God, you’re so fucking annoying!” Sangyeon growled as he began to storm off but you stopped him by grabbing his wrist.
“Answer my fucking question, Lee Sangyeon! I was just being nice and caring about your well being and all I got was to shut up? You’re a fucking asshole you know that?” You said, your words filled with venom as he gritted his teeth, jaw clenching tight.
“Who taught you to be such a brat? Your mother?” Sangyeon accidentally blurted that out of sheer anger. Your grip around his wrist left and the next thing he knew, your eyes were glossy from the tears threatening to fall.
“Don’t bring my mother into this.” You warned but he was still fuming with anger.
“Why? Why can’t I?! She’s the only reason why we’re in this stupid marriage anyway!”
You didn’t know what ran through your mind but the minute those words left his mouth, you couldn’t help but swing your hand onto his cheek. This shocked him to a certain extent as he simply glared at you but never did anything to hurt you physically.
“Do you know why I accepted the marriage proposal? Do you wanna know why I decided to walk down that fucking aisle and have myself being called as your official wife?! Well here’s the reason why. I promised my mom I would.” You paused as he remained quiet. You could almost see the cogs turning in his brain as though trying to process your words.
“My mom died wanting me to marry you. She told me she wanted to see me walk down the aisle one day and into your arms. Until now, I don’t understand why she specifically wants it to be you, but that’s what she wanted. So I promised her that she would be there for when that day comes. But she left me before she could even witness that for herself. She left before I could even say goodbye. It broke me. It fucking broke me Sangyeon! That’s why I chose to accept the proposal even when…”
You stopped for a moment, not realizing that you had been crying until you tasted salty tears on your lips.
“...even when I didn’t love you. I did it because I made a promise to her. I don’t want to let her down, Sangyeon.... I never wanted any of this to happen. And I know you feel the same so I’m sorry.” Those were the last things you said to him before going to your bedroom and locking yourself in there.
Sangyeon was left standing there, feeling completely shitty with what he said to you earlier. He never meant to hurt your feelings. He should’ve known better not to mention your mom but he only said that out of pure anger.
He knows it’s his fault but his ego was too high for him to simply give in to his mistake.
He was about to just brush this off when he heard the door click and soon, you were seen leaving your bedroom with a cross body purse on you. You didn’t give him the chance to speak as you just left the house with a soft slam of your front door. He watched as you took your white mini cooper and drove out of the driveway.
Tumblr media
“Sweetie, why don’t you want to accept the proposal?” Your mother asked weakly as you sat on the chair beside her hospital bed.
“Mom, you know I don’t love him. We’ve been fighting since we were kids. I don’t see why I should marry someone who I don’t love.”
“Oh sweetie, you can only learn to love by loving.”
“Mom, that’s just fairy tale talk.”
“Do you wanna know something?” She asked as you stared at her quietly while you caressed the back of her hand with your thumbs as he took this silence to continue.
“Your father and I weren’t on good terms too when we first met each other. We always fought in high school and it went on for quite a while until Mrs Lee set me up on this blind date and it was with your father. At first we found it ridiculous, but after that first date, I realized that maybe your father wasn’t as bad as I thought. And so, we started to slowly understand the process of loving someone and soon enough, we fell in love. Love doesn’t always come to you directly. Sometimes, you need to find it yourself.”
She paused, studying your facial expressions carefully to make sure you weren’t angry or about to burst at her for the next thing she was planning to say.
“Can you promise me something sweetie?”
“Anything… Anything at all mom.” You said with a glint of hope in your eyes.
“Can you promise me that you’ll marry Mrs Lee’s son? I don’t care when. Just… as long as it’s him. Even if I’m not around anymore...”
“Mom-”
“Please? For me?”
Your heart broke hearing her pleading voice. You don’t understand why she was so persistent in you marrying him but for now, you couldn’t bear to say no. You couldn’t bear to break her heart. So, with a heavy heart, you chose your mother’s happiness before yours.
“Okay mom… I promise. But you have to promise me too that you’ll be fine and that you’ll come back to me and dad, okay?”
“I promise, sweetheart. I love you so much.” She said.
“I love you too mom.”

That night when you came back to your old house, your dad greeted you at the door with a shocked look on his face. He asked you why you were there at such a late time so you explained to him that you got into a big fight with Sangyeon and that you wanted to stay there for the next few days. Of course your father was happy that he would finally have someone in the house with him, but he was also worried that Sangyeon would be concerned over you.
You told him not to tell Sangyeon anything and that you wanted time away from him for now, in which your dad just nodded understandingly. The next few days, you spent your days diligently avoiding Sangyeon as much as you can despite being in the same campus. Lucky for you, he had very different schedules than you.
Which means, better chance for you to avoid him and not accidentally bump into him on campus grounds. And so far, your plan is working.
It’s been at least 3 weeks since you last went home to your shared place with him and you were starting to run low on your clothing supply back at your old house. Which means, you probably had no choice but to go back there now.
In all honesty, you weren’t mad at him anymore.
You were just too stubborn to face him after that argument. But it looks like you have no other choice now.
Hence, the reason why you were currently standing outside your doorstep at 8pm, noticing the vehicles parked outside your gates. By the looks of it, those probably belonged to his friends. And you were right. Because the minute you unlocked the door, you were immediately greeted by the chattering and laughter coming from the living room.
You walked in further, carefully after taking off your shoes and placing them in the shoe rack. Right when you had just made it by the end of the hallway and the living room was in full view, that’s where you saw the 6 figures scattered around the room.
The TV was playing a movie while the coffee table was filled with boxes of pizzas and other snacks for them to munch on.
Before you could speak up, two of them noticed your presence, making the blonde haired one to say hi, “Oh, hi Y/N.”
With that, the rest of them finally turned around upon hearing their friend greet you. Sangyeon, who was standing right in front of the TV, checking the cables, whipped his head around only to lock eyes with you. He froze in his spot, unsure if this was real considering you’ve been avoiding him like a plague the past 3 weeks.
“Y/N…” Was the only thing he managed to whisper under his breath as you awkwardly chuckled, hoping you didn’t create an unsettling atmosphere for them.
“Hey…” You whispered as he carefully made his way to you. The moment he was standing right in front of you, neither of you spoke. Both of you are afraid of saying the wrong thing which could potentially lead to another argument. But Sangyeon was smart enough to know not to make unnecessary comments to you after what happened the last time. So instead, he opted for an apology.
“Listen, about that night… I- I’m really sorry… I didn’t... I didn’t know.”
You could only give him a small smile that he could clearly see was weak and almost drained as you spoke up, “It’s okay. Anyways… I think I’m gonna rest.”
He simply nodded, resisting the urge to pull you into a hug and tell you how sorry he was for treating you like crap all these while. These past 3 weeks have made him realise that he wasn’t the nicest of people to you, that he said a lot of things that had definitely hurt you in the past, that he has been nothing but mean to you.
Upon hearing your bedroom door close, Sangyeon lets out a defeated sigh before walking back to his friends who then asked him if everything was okay. After he told them that everything was indeed okay, he plopped back down on the couch but it seemed to worry his friends seeing how sad Sangyeon looked at the moment.
Whenever he was with them, he has always been the goofy, savage, often picking on the others to get a reaction out of them, kind of guy. They’ve never properly seen this softer side of him.
It’s been nearly an hour since you came home and yet, he hasn’t caught a single glimpse of you anywhere. He got worried for you, not knowing whether you’ve eaten or not. So he decided to check on you. He got up from the ground to excuse himself, telling them to just continue what they were doing.
When he arrived at your supposedly shared bedroom, he found you seated on the window couch just staring into the night sky. However, before he could even knock on the door and push it wider, he heard soft sobs from you that gradually grew louder. He stayed by the door and unintentionally listened to your whispers.
“I miss you mum… I’m sorry if I couldn’t live up to my promise just like you wanted me to. I know I’m not the best wife to him, but I’m trying… I’m trying… for you. I wish you were still here beside me. To guide me on how to be a good wife. To love someone without feeling trapped. To love someone the way you and dad loves me. I’m so sorry mum… I’m so truly sorry…”
Sangyeon’s heart shattered into a million pieces for you. That’s when he realized that his feelings for you had changed. That all he wanted to do right at this very moment was to protect you. You were broken, fragile and yet, he’s been treating you horribly all these while.
He couldn’t take it any longer. With that being said, he carefully and quietly made his way to you. Not making a sound as you had your head buried in your knees, cries getting louder the closer he came to you. However, when you felt his soft hands caress the sides of your arms, you looked up. Your eyes glistened under the moonlight, your cheeks soaked with your freshly falling tears.
At that moment, you looked so vulnerable.
So when he pulled you into his embrace, you easily let him. Burying your face into his chest as he gently rubs circles onto your back, caressing your head comfortingly.
After a few seconds of silence, you finally whispered against his chest. Just loud enough for him to hear, but soft enough that nobody standing outside the door could hear.
“I miss her Sangyeon…”
Sangyeon wasn’t sure how to respond to your confession but he tried as best as he could to make you feel better.
“And I know that she misses you too. But it’s okay, she will always be with you. You’ll be okay… I promise.” He whispered and almost immediately, you pulled back as he frowned in confusion.
“You shouldn’t promise me anything…” You said, your tears slowly getting lesser and lesser by the minute.
“Why do you say that?”
“Because the last time someone made me a promise, they promised me that they’ll be okay and that they’ll never leave me… And yet she did...” Your voice hushed. He could tell that that was your trauma. Making promises.
He felt a tear threatening to roll down his cheek but he managed to hold back. Sangyeon softly reached up to cup your face and caress your cheeks with both thumbs before he spoke up, “I’m sorry she did. I’m sorry that promise got broken. But it’s not her fault. You know it wasn’t. So let me make a promise to you now and this time, it won’t be broken.”
With that being said, you cried even harder as he just pulled you against his chest almost cradling you like a child. After almost 20 minutes in the room, he finally let go of your fragile figure and asked if you wanted to eat.
You told him you weren’t hungry and that you just wanted to rest. Sangyeon nodded, bringing you to the bed as he carefully tucked you in to make you cosy. He was about to leave you alone when you grabbed his wrists. Sangyeon turned around with such a soft gaze on you, it nearly melted you.
“Where are you going?” You asked with a soft voice, almost shy. Sangyeon found it so endearing that he couldn’t help but chuckle softly.
“I’m gonna go back to the boys and maybe call it a night early.” He smiled, to which you felt his other hand come to wrap its fingers around your extended wrist, gently pulling it away before caressing the back of your wrist with his thumb.
“Can you come back after… please?” You whispered as you saw him smile again before putting your hand down on the mattress softly.
“I will.”
Soon enough, Sangyeon left you in the room to rest for a bit while he went back to his friends and relayed the message to them. Thankfully, the boys were very understanding. They told Sangyeon to send their well wishes to you in which he definitely would. After they left, Sangyeon went ahead and cleared the leftover trash.
Silently thanking the boys for cleaning most of the mess up before he even came back into the living room. He was almost done cleaning, not forgetting to brush his teeth before going back to your room only to find you already asleep with your back facing the door.
Sangyeon couldn’t help but smile as he closed the door behind him and soon made his way quietly to the other side of the room.
He carefully pulled the duvet up, climbing into bed after putting the duvet back down.
He very gently lifted your head up to let his right arm slide under your neck as a pillow, proceeding to pull your body closer against his chest. Once you were both in a comfortable position, he gently wrapped his other hand around your waist. Caressing your side in a comforting manner.
“Goodnight Y/N.” He whispered as he soon drifted off into slumber.
Tumblr media
Ever since then, both of you had stopped the constant arguments. You weren’t always annoyed by every little thing the other did. In school, when you’d accidentally bump into one another, either one would smile and acknowledge the other. Some people who witnessed this, found it strange but your close friends didn’t.
It’s been a good 4 months since you’d reconciled with Sangyeon. Though there were disagreements at times, those arguments would however, be resolved as quickly as it came.
But one thing’s for sure, is that during the past 4 months, you and Sangyeon had slowly found yourselves falling for each other. Neither of you said it out loud, but apparently those around you could visibly tell. Especially your friends.
It was a Thursday afternoon, you and the girls were just walking to the lunch hall when Lisa spotted Sangyeon and his friends just walking down the main building. It seems like they were heading towards the lunch hall as well. With that being said, Lisa called out to Sangyeon’s name, causing him and the rest to turn.
The minute Sangyeon’s eyes locked on Lisa’s and then on you, his gaze softened as you saw the corner of his lips curving upwards into a cute smirk.
They stopped walking to let you girls catch up and once you did, Lisa immediately went to Juyeon and began talking to him casually. The other girls went to walk with the rest while you came to a quick stop beside Sangyeon before you continued walking with the others ahead of you.
“How was class?” He asked, his arm accidentally brushing against yours as you walked further down the building.
“Horrible. Can you believe he wants us to submit 10 codes by the end of this week? I swear that man wants me dead.” You groaned in annoyance, only to hear him chuckle. But what he said next, caught you by surprise.
“But I don’t want you dead.”
With that, you turned to him as a small smile appeared on your face despite the frown you had. Both of you walked in silence, just basking in the conversations of your friends when you felt a soft tickling feeling on your fingers.
You glanced down to see that his hand was playfully brushing against your fingers, making you look up to catch him already staring at you.
Sangyeon smiled at you innocently, not sure if he wanted to say anything else until he felt you slide your hand into his, lacing your fingers with his easily. Now it was his turn to look down and then back up at you. All he did was chuckle, a sound you could definitely get used to.
A week passed and it was finally the weekend. You and Sangyeon didn’t have anything planned for the day.
Or at least you thought.
You were just lounging on the couch on a beautiful Saturday evening when Sangyeon came over to plop down beside you with a cheeky smile on his face.
“You’re oddly happy? What’s going on?” You asked with a raise of your eyebrow.
“I have a surprise for you but you have to go get ready okay?”
“Get ready? It’s already 7 o’clock. Where can we go?” You asked but all you got was a soft whine from him telling you to just do it. You opted to listen as he reminded you to wear prettily. You weren’t sure where you were going so you didn’t want to either overdress or underdress.
So you opted for simple denim skinny jeans, a baby blue sleeveless top, a white long knit cardigan and a pair of beige chunky heeled sandals.
When you left your shared bedroom to go to the living room, you were surprised to see him dressed handsomely in his black skinny jeans, a white button down shirt with the first few buttons undone, along with a navy blue bomber jacket. You saw him look at your outfit from head to toe, only for him to smirk playfully at you.
“Damn, who knew my wife could look this beautiful?” Sangyeon teased, making you giggle.
“Sangyeon, I literally wear jeans everyday.”
“Exactly.”
When you realized what he was trying to say, you soon found yourself blushing as you walked over to him and gently slapped his chest with your hand. Urging him to go before you slapped that cute smirk off his face.
Sangyeon couldn’t help but laugh but nonetheless left the house in his matte black Bentley. You watched as he drove down the street, bringing you to a part of the city where you don’t remember going to before in your life. The car ride was filled with jokes and laughter coming from both of you. He distracted you too much to the point where you didn’t even notice you were already at the location he wanted to bring you.
You looked out the window and that’s when you realize, “Is this an outdoor cinema?” You gasped when you saw the open field with a large screen at the centre, along with the endless rows of couples seated on their own blankets with snacks and drinks of their preferences.
“Sangyeon… This is…” You were speechless and he could see.
He chuckled as he just stared at you with such endearment in his eyes. Some people would just call it love.
“It’s wonderful.” You finally got to finish your sentence, turning to him with a smile.
“I’m glad you think so. Now let’s go! The movie’s about to start.”
Two hours had passed and you were now a few minutes in of the second movie. You noticed some couples were starting to get comfortable on their blankets. You were starting to get tired just sitting up straight and Sangyeon noticed your subtle shifts, desperate to find a comfortable sitting position.
“Hey, you okay?” He asked quietly.
“Yeah. I’m okay, just a little tired from sitting up.” You explained with a bashful little smile. Just then, Sangyeon thought of an idea that was completely beyond your imagination.
Hence, when he patted the space in between his legs, you glanced down and then back at him who was seen smiling softly to you. None of it was making you feel creeped out. In fact, you felt safe and that you could trust him. After all, he was your husband anyways. Of course you trust him.
“Come here.” He said as he stared at you calmly. He wasn’t sure if you were entirely up for this but before he could take his words back, that’s when he saw you carefully crawling towards the space he patted earlier.
Once you were seated in front of him, Sangyeon scooted forward a little before he slid his arms around your waist.
He soon pulled you against his chest, before he whispered in your ear, “Comfortable?”
You turned your head to look at him but instead got slightly flustered by the close proximity that led you to feeling his lips accidentally brush against your own. You got quiet for a moment, praying that he didn’t hear the way your heart was pounding against your chest.
You couldn’t trust your voice so you opted for a soft hum to answer his question. The next few minutes, you found yourself getting more and more comfortable in his arms, putting your hands on top of his forearms as you unconsciously caressed his skin in a calming manner. All the while, Sangyeon was behind you, completely distracted from the movie in front of him.
Instead, his mind was fuzzy with how close you were to him at that very moment. This was something he never thought would happen back when he was still young.
But now that he was here with you, just cuddling at an outdoor movie theatre, he couldn’t help but want more of this. Sangyeon found himself smiling as he couldn’t help but give your sides a gentle squeeze, telling you that he was there with you and that he would never leave you.
Thankfully, you got the silent message.
Because right after he did that, you turned your head to look at him. His eyes held the galaxy. You found yourself getting lost in his eyes.
Both of you were silent but it wasn’t awkward. You didn’t know what came over you but a sense of confidence washes over you. With that being said, you carefully leaned forward to close the gap and soon pressed your lips on his.
To say he was taken aback slightly, is definitely an understatement.
But it took him less than 3 seconds to finally move his lips against yours in a smooth rhythm. You brought your right hand up to gently cup his face as you kissed him.
Sangyeon tightens his hold on you, pulling away from the kiss only to look into your eyes with such adoration. He wasn’t sure if now was the right time to express his feelings for you, but he thought, what was there to lose. So with that thinking, Sangyeon took a small breath before he uttered the 3 words he never thought he’d say to you but he did. And every single word he said at that moment, was as sincere as ever.
“I love you.”
You couldn’t help but smile softly at him before you kissed him again in a longing kiss before pulling away and replying to him with the exact emotions you felt for him genuinely.
“I love you too, Sangyeon.”

Cupbearer (Eren/Reader)
Tumblr media
Part II
Part I (complete)
Part III (complete)
Part IV (in progress)
Warnings: MINORS DO NOT INTERACT (im watching you, if you see this, begone!), vampire!eren, hunter!reader, fem!reader, smut, some amount of predator/prey dynamics but only kinda?? there is also a significant age difference but only cos eren is immortal and all that jazz. we're all adults here. there will eventually be smut.... and do i really need to say that there's gonna be blood in a vampire fic?
Description: A story of falling in love in 4 parts.
Eren is a bad man (well, a bad Creature) who has done bad things. When he meets the great-great-great granddaughter of one of his former friends in his favorite blood bar, however, he thinks it might not matter so much what happened in the past, so long as he can make the future something worth living to see.
Ao3 link here
Making deals with a vampire was one thing, (Y/N) supposed, but fulfilling such a deal was quite another.
When Zeke— who held the contradictory position of the regional Commander of the Hunters as well as the alpha of a local werewolf pack— had approached her with the idea of infiltrating Eren Jaeger's inner circle, she had jumped at the chance; her great-to-however-many-degrees grandfather really had been Jean Kirschtein, and she had read his old journal, and her curiosity about the Old Ways was always bubbling just beneath her skin. Zeke, she thought, must have known of her curiosity, because his offer had been everything she was searching for.
You'll have your answers, he told her, And we'll have ours. One way or another, the problem of Eren Jaeger will be solved through your efforts. There is no possible way to lose.
If only she had known how wrong Zeke had been.
At first, things with Eren were simple— well, as simple as things could be with such a delicate arrangement. It had been beyond easy to bait him into approaching her at the Creature bar on 76th Street, and aside from the first time, allowing time for Eren to feed was almost nothing. Even the process of feeding itself wasn't much of an ordeal— there was hardly any pain since he drew from her wrist after a warm soak, and the whole thing took less than five minutes— but around the second time, when the visions began, things began to be different.
Little snippets of Eren's past began to come as the two of them interacted more and increased the amount of regular feedings. Sometimes it was as little as a feeling, a memory of a face that (Y/N) had never seen before; other times, it was like (Y/N) was truly there centuries ago, in a land that would one day become her home. Now, almost every time she let Eren drink from her, she was thrust back into a world where humanity was (literally) with it's back against the wall, fighting demons and mindless monsters just to survive; and, sometimes, the visions were so intense that she would come back from them terrified, shaking, and incapable of cogent thought. It was during those times that Eren held her, silent, resigned, and yet somehow caring until she was herself again.
It was strange; in the visions, Eren was often passionate to a fault. He was wild, like an animal, but kind, too. During times like these, when he cradled her in his arms as she was trembling with the force of a particularly poignant memory, (Y/N) wondered if the centuries had truly changed him, or if he hid that passion beneath the jaded indifference she had come to expect.
"You think too much," he told her as she buried her face into the crook of his neck. "Your heart is racing."
Of course it was— the terror of watching hundreds of people be consumed by the very wrath of hell itself would do that to a person— but (Y/N) had no rebuttal. She did think too much, and the end result was muddled reports sent back to Zeke and a clouded heart.
"You loved her."
It was a statement, not a question. Mikasa— the brave, beautiful woman that Jean Kirschtein had once loved— may not have always known it, but Eren truly had felt very deeply for her.
"More than life," Eren replied.
(Y/N) thought back to the memory— the sheer panic Eren had felt at the thought of losing his comrades, the desperation with which he strove to save them— and she amended her statement.
"You loved them all."
Eren hummed.
"More than the wide, wide world."
And (Y/N) thought that, perhaps, he truly meant it.
"What did you see this time?" he asked, his voice soft.
(Y/N) pulled back so that she and Eren were face to face, her legs straddling him. His eyes were glowing-green, and she shivered beneath their scrutiny.
"I saw a field full of demons," she told him, unable to meet his gaze. "You and Mikasa were defenseless, yourself having been pushed to your limit, and Mikasa's blades having been broken. There was nowhere to run, and you— you screamed, and—"
A large, warm hand caressed her cheek, and it occurred to (Y/N) that it was her own blood within Eren that gave him such warmth with which to comfort. She placed her smaller hand atop his, and the world seemed to freeze for a moment to allow this brief, intimate interlude.
"Do you understand now?" he asked as he did almost every time she had a vision. "Do you see why I did what I did?"
As always, (Y/N) shook her head, moving his hand from her face.
"No, I don't."
The response was never met with anger or frustration; Eren was only ever resigned to it. Before, (Y/N) might have felt scorn for such a man who cared so little, but now that she had seen who Eren had been, what he'd been through… perhaps he was simply tired of caring so much.
"You're beautiful when you're thinking."
The words caught (Y/N) off guard. She had known that Eren had thought she was attractive— his emotional feedback told her that much— but she had never thought that he would voice such a thought. The compliment heated her cheeks, and (Y/N) had to fight the urge to bury her face in her hands.
"I've always thought," said Eren, speaking slowly, choosing his words carefully, "That one can never truly appreciate the beauty of a blush until one could see it with the eyes of a vampire, or smell it as it rises on the cheek."
Eren placed a hand on her face, tilting it until their eyes were level.
"And as a vampire who has seen many beautiful blushes on many beautiful women, yours is the most bewitching of all."
(Y/N) swallowed thickly.
"Why are you saying this?"
Eren cocked his head to the side, studying her. It was a long moment before he spoke, but when he did, he gave an answer that (Y/N) was not expecting.
"Because it's true, and because I would very much like to kiss you."
(Y/N)'s heart leapt into her throat, but she didn't dare move one way or the other. She just stared at Eren, slack-jawed, as he stared patiently back.
"Why?" she asked when she had collected herself.
Eren shrugged. "Does that matter?"
(Y/N) supposed very much that it did matter, but she didn't feel the need to say so. She studied Eren closely— the latent hunger in his eyes, the set of his jaw, the stain of her blood on his lips— and she thought of how gentle he had been with her, how patient. She had no doubt that he would prove to be equally so in other matters, and she wanted him— but something stopped her.
It would be wrong of me to allow this, she thought, letting her eyes wander to Eren's lips. I'm his enemy, a spy for the Hunters. Allowing him and myself the potential of intimacy is too deep a betrayal, even for me.
Even so, she didn't stop him as he shifted her closer; even so, when his lips brushed hers, she kissed him back, tasting her own blood on his tongue.
"This is a bad idea," she whispered against his lips, shifting in his lap.
"How young you are," he said in return. "There is no such thing as a bad idea, only poor timing and execution. Take it from someone who has centuries of experience; rarely ever is the regret for having done something greater than the regret of not having done it."
So saying, he kissed her again, and (Y/N) threaded her hands in his hair as he reached beneath her shirt. His hands— warm, now, with the heat of her own blood— reached beneath the cup of her bra to cradle her breasts, and she exhaled a hiss as his fingertips found her nipples. She arched into him, pressing her flesh into his hands and parting their lips; he chuckled, dark and low, and she shivered at the sound.
"How many other Creatures have you tricked like this?" he asked, pressing kisses against her neck. "Tell me, pretty girl— just how many have fallen prey to your charms so that you can run back to your little doggy master with their deepest, darkest secrets?"
(Y/N) froze, stuck somewhere between fear, dread, and ecstasy. Eren knew— somehow, he knew— and yet he continued to touch her, kiss her, caress her as though nothing were amiss. Her whole body went still with shock, but Eren never stopped even for a moment.
"Come now, you can't think I didn't know." His lips were just below her ear now, and he closed his teeth around the lobe, teasing her with the sensation. "I can smell him on the papers in your bag; I can hear the clicking of the letters as you type your memos after I've pieced you back together for an evening. Most of all, I can hear the way your heart pumps a little faster when I feed you the information you want. I can taste your guilt in the very blood I take from you. You can hide nothing from me."
"Eren," she said as fear— rancid and terrible— began crawling up the back of her throat, "Eren, please, I haven't told him about the important things, I'm trying to make a case for you—"
He pulled away then, and when his piercing green eyes locked with her own, she stilled like a sparrow caught in the gaze of a cobra.
"I don't care," he replied simply. "You are what you are, and at your core, you cannot change that. It is the same with me. I'm not afraid of my half-mutt half-brother no matter what you tell him, and as long as you want what I have to offer, there's no reason not to take it for your own."
(Y/N)'s mind was reeling.
"Half-brother?"
Eren chuckled at her confusion.
"Oh yes, pretty one. Zeke Jaeger is my older brother, and I suspect he sent you to me just to you with the both of us." With a carnivorous grin, he added, "But little does he know that I play for keeps, and you're not the good little Huntress he must assume you are— that is to say, he must have no clue at all how hungry you are for vampire cock, hm?"
(Y/N) would be lying if she hadn't pictured Eren in… less than appropriate situations, but for fuck's sake, she wasnt blind. The man— vampire, Creature, whatever— was fucking gorgeous, and he damn well knew it, but that didn't mean she was gagging for it.
Did it?
"We can't do this," she said, pushing at Eren's chest, though he didn't budge an inch. "We shouldn't do this."
Eren cracked a grin, toothy with fangs that glistened.
"Says who?" he asked, his large, strong hands coming around to grab her by the ass. "You were perfectly fine with letting me kiss and touch when you thought I was in the dark— is it no longer any fun now that you don't feel like you're taking advantage of me?"
(Y/N) couldn't take it.
"Eren, be serious—"
"I am serious."
When she looked in his eyes and reached out with her own heart, (Y/N) knew that he was telling the truth. He wanted her regardless of anything, regardless of everything.
He simply wanted her.
Could that be so bad?
***
Eren didn't think that this would happen even in his wildest dreams, but when he saw (Y/N) splayed out on his gold silk sheets, he knew it wasn't the madness that Armin accused him of lying to himself about. No mind, well and whole or not, could ever conjure up such a vision. The woman who lay before him— naked and gorgeous— was beyond imagining. She was something from another world entirely.
"What are you doing?" she asked, puzzled as Eren stood over her, watching the rise and fall of her breasts. "Come hold me."
And how lovely was that? His natural enemy, his perfect prey, asking him to come hold her, as though his skin on hers was blessed assurance that he was there and wanting.
Maybe Eren was mad— or, perhaps he was dreaming. If he was, he hoped he never came back to himself. A world without this was not a world he ever wanted to return to.
"Yes," she hissed as he crawled atop her, his mouth suckling at her breast. No other creature that walked the earth could ever taste as sweet as her— having tasted many, many before, Eren would know— but even were that to be disproved, Eren wasn't sure he would much care. This woman would be his undoing.
"Touch me," she demanded, canting her hips up to him. "I want to feel you."
How could Eren ever deny her? He brought a hand down to her sex, caressing her there before parting her folds to quest for her clit. Having found it, he drew small, teasing circles, and she whined.
"Am I still a monster to you?" he asked into the hollow of her throat, placing biting kisses there as his hand kept busy with its work. "Still something to hate and abhor?"
"You're still a monster," she replied, so startlingly honest even now, "But I never once hated you. Oh Eren, please, I want you inside me, I—"
Her wish was his command; Eren plunged two fingers into her depths, and (Y/N) gasped at the intrusion. She was so wet already, and so tempting as she squeezed down on those fingers, rocking her hips as he withdrew them just to the tip and repeated the motion. The way she felt around his digits shouldn't have turned him on as much as it did, but as Eren slid in a third finger, he had to keep himself from letting out a groan.
"You're so beautiful," he told her as she writhed beneath him. "You truly, truly are."
Distantly, Eren wondered what Jean would think if he were alive to know who was finger-fucking his great-granddaughter, but when Eren remembered the nasty right hooks the taller man used to give him when he was being a shit, he figured that he would rather not know. Still, as he watched (Y/N) come undone on the tip of his fingers, he couldn't help but think that perhaps it was something of Jean's spirit— the part that even Eren had to admit was better, kinder, more human than most— that drew him to her.
"I want you," he said, withdrawing his hands and licking his fingers clean of her juices. "Do you feel ready enough?"
And then, as though to prove his point, (Y/N) sat straight up with the cutest little Jean-like scowl he had ever seen and pushed at his chest with no small amount of force. He went with the motion, and he found himself being mounted by her as she said,
"I'm not made of glass— if you can't wrap your head around that, I'll have to show you just what I'm capable of."
She did— and how! Powerful thighs— the thighs of a Hunter— levered her up and down on his cock, squeezing him until he thought he might die from it. He thought she was never going to stop impaling herself again and again, and by the time she did eventually tire, Eren was sort of hoping she never would. He was in ecstasy with her, and like the selfish bastard he was, he wanted it to last forever.
"Such fire," he said, reaching up to press kisses into the skin just between her breasts. "You've made your point, now let me take over."
Let me take care of you.
"Yes, yes, yes," she chanted as he thrust up into her, the head of his cock buried so deeply within her that he marveled at how she didn't seem to be feeling any discomfort. "Oh fuck, right there, please don't stop—"
Eren didn't stop; he couldn't. He was beyond restraint.
"May I?" He asked, tapping the wrist that was trapped in his right hand. "I won't take much, but I want to show you something."
Delirious, drunk with lust, (Y/N) nodded, and Eren pierced her skin with a single fang, letting a drop of blood fall onto his tongue. In that moment, as they connected physically, her blood connected them spiritually, and Eren groaned as he physically felt how close she was through the link he had created.
It wouldn't be long now.
"Oh, fuck!" she cried, and Eren buried himself as deeply as he could within her as he came. "Oh, oh, oh—"
And then (Y/N) was following him, shaking and gasping as her orgasm overtook her. It seemed that the world had stopped existing for a moment, and Eren found it hard to breathe even though he had no particular need to do so at all.
In the afterglow, they clung to each other like the survivors of a shipwreck; when the world began to exist again, it felt new, and as Eren closed his eyes to sleep, he knew that this changed everything.
I must keep her, he thought as sleep overtook him. I don't know if I could feel like this ever again for anyone else.

"So, this is where the hell you've been hiding?"
His voice tore through the midday stillness like a blade, equal parts raspy and gruff. He sounded irritated and mildly fatigued. Not that Katsuki Bakugou would ever admit to being anything less than a hundred and ten percent. He climbed off his steed, heavy boots crunching under the weight of his feet, and secured his horse against the stump you were leaning on.
You flipped the page of your book, not sparing the man even a cursory glance. You would prefer to keep your attention occupied by fictitious worlds, warriors, and battles fought in the name of love and justice.
It was much easier to allow yourself to become the bearer of fictional hardships, because at least they could be solved through a well-constructed plot with each turn of a page, as opposed to the realities of your actual life, a slow spiraling disaster in comparison.
Bakugou stood in front of you, vein ticking on his throat with every clench of his jaw. His arms were crossed tight over his chest, red gaze pinned on your hunched form. He wasn't at all the kind of person anyone could easily ignore. His very presence demanded attention and drew eyes like a magnet.
Case in point, no matter how much you tried to ignore him, you simply couldn’t.
"Please tell me you aren't going to stand there the entire time. Take a hint will you." You went to turn another page, but Bakugou reached over and snatched the book from your hands with deft fingers and speed you couldn't hope to match.
"Give. It. Back."
"Nah, I don't think I will just yet." He sneered, thumbing through the pages. "I was told to bring your dumbass back to the estate, so that's exactly what the hell I'm 'bout to do."
You blew a puff of air from your lips, eyes blazing with a kind of defiance that only burned harder the more you glared at him. "Then I guess you'll just have to drag me back kicking and screaming."
Bakugou only smirked, teeth spread in a feral grin that sent a chill down your spine.
That had always been his intention.
Almost an hour later, you stood before your parents, clothes dusty, creased, and smudged from having been manhandled like a sack of flour before promptly dumped in front of your waiting audience.
A frown marred your delicate features as they began their lecture.
Your mind drifted elsewhere the more they reminded you of your lineage and that you were royalty and how it was imperative you behave as such. You’d heard it all before, known this for as long as you could remember. As the King and Queen of your home country, your parents never failed to emphasize the importance of keeping your every move in check because of the reputation you had to uphold.
Katsuki stood somewhere behind you, and although he stayed mostly silent, you could almost hear him grinding away at his molars. The King and Queen were taking turns subtly digging into him as well, implying that his incompetence was a stain upon the royal guard perfect record of achievements. If he couldn't keep you in line, what was the point of holding rank?
They annoyed him way more than they did you, but he dare not voice it, not if he wanted to keep his head attached to his shoulders. Far be it from him to send himself to the guillotine
You both were in for a long night.
“Honestly, this kind of behavior is unbecoming of someone of your status. What will our countrymen think if they see you roaming about unattended like a vagabond?” Your father stroked his beard as if waiting for a response. But everyone in the room knew he really just liked to hear himself talk.
He was no better than a machiavellian swindler in expensive robes. A puppet if you would.
The real leader of the land was your mother. After all, she had only married into the family, having been the daughter of a mere advisor with no royal blood. She spoke little, but her glare was more than enough to convey just what she was thinking.
By the end of the lecture, you felt like all of your energy had been sapped from you, but thankfully your parents left you to retreat into your bedroom for the remainder of the day. Bakugou escorted you, following close behind.
“You’re gonna do it again, aren’t ya?”
You paused, foot nearly catching against the carpeted floors of your bedroom. Fiddling with a piece of your hair, you shrugged. “...maybe.”
“You’re a huge idiot.” Bakugou shook his head with a low laugh.
A tiny smidgen of a grin danced on your lips as you considered him. He was your childhood friend. No one knew you better than he did. And he was also the guard most assigned to watch over you and keep you safe from harm.
Despite that, you’d come to notice how much he’d changed. He wasn’t the same Katsuki you grew up knowing and you missed him dearly. Occasions like this, where a part of his guard was let down, were becoming few and far between. There had to be something you could do.
“Let’s make a wager. If you can manage to find me, I’ll do one thing at your command.”
“Challenge accepted.” He reached into the folds of his uniform, pulled out your little novel, and slapped it right into your open palm. "No matter where you run off to, I'll find ya. Trust me on that, princess."
His eyes were like candles in the night, ignited by a spark of passion. Not a single lie could be detected.
"I won't make it easy on you, Katsuki, just so you know."
"Heh, you better not." He sniffed, tucking his hands into his uniform pockets. And with a final half-wave, he was gone.
In and around the capital city, winter had completely lost it's bite. The weather was tepid, swinging a mild breeze that coasted through the countryside. It was the sort of winter where one felt as if woolen clothing were worn more for comfort than necessity. In what should have been the chilliest part of the year, Bakugou found himself traversing one of the many beaches that hedged the southern peninsula.
After a full week following the challenge issued in your bedroom, Bakugou realized you were entirely too good at evading him or any of the other guards at the kingdom’s disposal, for that matter.
Day in and day out, he spent his shifts searching tirelessly for you, just to stumble upon you in the most random of places and only when you had wanted him to find you. The running score was six to five in your favor, but he was determined not to lose to you again.
And there you were, standing at the very edge of the shore, as if a mere thought had manifested you right before his very eyes. Your loose billowing dress of soft satin waved to him like a white flag of surrender in the air. He'd finally found you.
"Not gonna run off this time?"
"Nope! You won this round." Your cheeks creased in a smile.
Given the boots he'd worn, it was no surprise that his feet kept sinking into the sand. You said nothing as he toed off his shoes and socks, bare feet settling into the depths of warm, grainy sand.
He couldn’t help but feel more relaxed. Over the past few months, he’d found himself losing sight of his goals, caught in the dredges of the mundane and routine.
The cool waters lapped at both his and your feet, fizzing and bubbling, leaving behind traces of salt. You went further into the water’s touch, your back to him as the tides licked at the your calves. Even he had to admit, the view was a beautiful one, possibly even more so with you against the backdrop.
“I’m glad you found me,” you called over the cry of seagulls. “For a second, I was worried you’d lose this round.”
Bakugou rolled his eyes. “Tch, as if I’d ever lose to you, princess.”
“Naturally.” You laughed.
“What the hell are we doing out here anyway?”
He knelt to roll up his pants, a mere moment away from following after you like always.
“I... really just wanted to show you the view. Do you remember when we used to come down here as kids? Remember how we used to dare each other to see who could go the farthest into the ocean?”
Of course he remembered. Those were some of his most cherished memories of his time spent with you before duty to the kingdom took precedent.
You reached a hand out to him, an open invitation. “I just thought you needed a little reminder of what that was like.”
For some reason, Katsuki was determined not to meet your gaze, scowling at some point on the horizon, until you came over and nudged him with your elbow. “It wouldn’t kill you to admit that I’m right.”
With a sigh, he reached over and tugged you into a hug. You snuggled close to his chest, gripping the back on his uniform. It may have been your imagination but you could’ve sworn you felt the soft press of lips against your temple.
“Thanks... you know... for everything.”
Beaming, you leaned back to get the full view of his heated cheeks.
“Of course, of course.”
There was something earnest in his eyes that told you no matter how far you went, or however far you traveled, he’d always be a step behind you. It sent your heart hammering in your ribcage. You were suddenly all too aware of the way he held you secure against him like he would never let go.
“What are you thinking, princess?”
You blinked owlishly, taken over by your feelings and mumbling a hushed. “Oh, nothing.” The two of you were just a royal and a guard, bound to one another by duty.
If there could be anything more than that...well, only time would tell.

Warm Beer and Cold Women Pt.3 (Johnny Lawrence x Reader)
Part 1
Part 2
Request: Hi! I absolutely love your work and I was wondering if I could get a Cobra Kai Johnny imagine where the reader is a bartender and starts crushing on him since he’s a regular and he flirts with her all the time and she pretends to hate it but she actually loves it? by Anon
A/N: Before you read you should know that I adjusted the timeline a little, all mistakes in the timeline that you are noticing are on purpose. Also I decided to let johnny keep his black Cobra Kai car in that one. Then I’m perfectly aware of the fact that I lowkey drifted away from the actual request but don’t worry, I’m coming back to that. It’s the second last part to this little series. Enjoy.
Warnings: badass reader, drinking, DUI, swearing, ANGST, a little fluff

"Jesus Christ, (Y/N), thank god you're finally here!" was the first thing you heard from Jenny as soon as you set foot into the bar for yet another late shift on a boring Thursday night.
"We've been waiting for you for hours!" Jenny said and grabbed your arm dragging you further inside. You were staggered, "What the fuck, Jen, I'm not even late, I know I was yesterday but I'm perfectly on time today! Look," you pointed towards a clock on the wall "8 pm sharp."
"Jesus, don't you ever check your phone?" she went on ignoring you. And as a matter of fact, you didn't. You trashed it a couple of days ago as a result of a drunk rage after another shift without your favourite regular. That's why you've been borrowing your colleague’s phone to call yourself an Uber home. But that was still not helping you understand why you were needed so much. Apparently, the bar was waiting for your arrival since the opening at last. In the distance, behind the almost empty counter you saw the staff door opening and Kenny making his way to you in a quick pace.
"She's is here!" Jenny called out to him as if he wasn't able to see that for himself.
"Finally."
"What the fuck?" you asked again, trying to think of all the things you could've done wrong in the past weeks, but you couldn't find any. You never messed up a drink, you always locked the doors, you even cleaned the puke in the men's bathroom. "Am I in trouble?"
Kenny shook his head, you looked at him quizzically.
"It's about your boyfriend," Jenny helped him out answering. You almost blurted out 'He's not my boyfriend' as it was already on the tip of your tongue because you were so deeply conditioned to say that. But when your glance skipped over the almost empty seats by the counter again, your heart suddenly skipped a beat and when it was back at keeping you alive it started beating so hard against your ribs as if it was about to burst. Johnny was back.
"He's been here since we opened at 5," Kenny said, sounding a little annoyed "He's drunk off his ass, came in drunk already, and refuses to leave until he sees you. We tried to throw him out but he's one persistent motherfucker and lowkey aggressive, muttering your name saying he needs to talk to you and nobody else."
"Yeah, maybe you should go and talk to him" Jenny affirmed. But you were already on your way. Without a word you almost stormed over.
At first you wouldn't have noticed him. He didn't look like himself, sitting there on his regular seat at the end, head hanging, covered by his hands. He looked rough.
The two weeks he didn't show himself, you almost started hating him. You thought him to be like any other man on earth who, after they broke you, finally got you to get soft towards them, waking your interest after hundreds of times trying, just disappeared without a trace. First you were blaming yourself, asking yourself if you went too far with your little game of pretend, whilst still waiting every day for him.  Had it been too much for him saving you the other day and getting his face bashed in for you? You wished he'd come and tell you what a bitch he thought you were to your face. Then you despised him for giving you up so quickly. But as soon as you laid eyes on him all these negative thoughts disappeared, and you were just concerned. Concerned about his condition, only the question inside your head how on earth you, a simple barkeeper, were able to help him with that. You grabbed a bottle of whisky and simply headed to the other side of the counter, not standing in front but sitting next to him this time. The worst about it, he didn't even take notice of you at first.
"Johnny," you said softly placing a hand on his arm. Like being electrocuted by this touch, he winced but finally looked up. You almost gasped at his appearance. Normally he was always clean shaven, now he looked like hadn't shaved in days. Besides that, he was also hurt. At first you thought his injuries might still be from his encounter with the three men that were bothering you, but the scratches and bruises were fresh, and a band aid was sticking to his forehead that wasn't needed before. Johnny blankly stared at you from his bloodshot eyes and you suddenly felt the urge to hug him. But you resisted, first you had to get him to talk. Instead, you grabbed two of the glasses in front of Johnny uncorked the bottle of whisky and poured you one. You took a sip of the burning liquid hoping for some courage to miraculously appear as you watched Johnny silently drinking, too.
Kenny walked by on the way back to his office, judgingly eyeing you.
"Damn, I have to start taking all the booze you're drinking here from your paycheck, (Y/N), slow the fuck down, would you?" he said sighing with one foot already inside. Out of a sudden Johnny snapped.
"Jesus Kenny, don't wet your precious leather pants," he shouted out, slamming his glass on the counter "I'm gonna pay for it! Let a girl enjoy her drink for once" Some heads turned in your direction.
You held still for a second and didn't dare to breathe, afraid of another fight to happen since normally Kenny didn't allow anybody talk to him like that. But he simply shook his head and closed the door behind him, muttering something like "This girl actually has to work here, but whatever" leaving you alone with Johnny.
"You look hot, as always," he said trying to smile, yet the smile didn't reach his sad eyes. He almost looked like he's been crying.
"And you look like shit."
"You mean that?" he gestured at his face noticing your gaze upon his massive black eye. You nodded.
"That's nothing."
"What happened, Johnny?" you asked but he did not answer and just kept on sitting in silence, sipping his drink from time to time. Then, after what seemed like forever, he finally looked you straight in the eyes.
"I fucked up, (Y/N), that's what happened, I fucked up big time."
"Tell me!"
"As if you give two shits about it, you probably wouldn't care. You fucking despise me and my sorry ass."
"I do care!"
“Nah, you wouldn’t!”
You sprung off your seat, you did not expect that coming out of his mouth, also it hurt to hear him say that, because you really did care about him! You probably cared about him more than anything in your life at the moment. But if he was going to be a bitch to you so were you.
“Well, don’t waste my fucking time then!” you exclaimed “And stop annoying everyone that you need to see talk to me instead of fucking off. I can gladly leave you all by yourself so you can keep on pitying yourself. Nice seeing you, jerk!”
And you were about to storm off, go back to pretending to work just like you did every other day when there was nothing else to do, when you instantly heard a “(Y/N), wait!”
You turned around and saw Johnny, now more miserable than ever, showing at your seat inviting you to sit back down. You swallowed your pride and did so.
“I’m sorry,” he said “I just can’t believe that someone would actually give a shit about me at all. And I did want to talk to you, I still do. You’re the only one I want to see right now.” “Then tell me what’s going on.”
“There’s this kid,” he started sighed and stopped, then took another sip of his whisky and began again “I have a dojo in a strip mall, I’m a sensei,” “What’s that?” you blurted out before you could stop yourself and you felt stupid. Johnny looked at you, completely staggered, forgetting his pain for a moment. Proving you that it was in fact a probably very stupid question.
“It’s a Karate place, I teach Karate there.”
“Go on.”
“I have a shit ton of nerds that I teach but they’re mostly good kids, they got bullied a lot before, but I helped them, I showed them how to kick ass, so no one dares to fuck with them anymore. There’s this one kid, Miguel, I’ve been teaching him since the beginning, he actually gave me the idea to open a dojo, he begged me to and he’s a great kid, he really grew on me. He lives next door with his mom and grandma, they’re great people, Mexicans. I even learned a bit of Spanish from them. And I’ve been hanging out a lot with him lately. I really, really liked him.”
He rubbed his eyes and stopped talking.
“What do you mean you liked him?” you asked carefully and studied Johnny’s face that he covered with his hands again.
“There’s more to the story. There’s another dojo in town, fucking Miyagi-Do. Of course, you can’t expect only one dojo to be there in L.A but how I wish that at least that one wouldn’t exist. The sensei is a twat. I fucking hate this guy. And his kids started fighting with my kids at school and not like throwing some punches at each other and leaving it be after somebody starts crying. No, they started a fucking Karate War at school. I mean, I get it, when I was their age I also took Karate way too seriously but letting it go this far? I don’t know, I can’t really understand that. It got out of hand real quick two weeks ago.”
“Fuck, did something bad happen?” you wondered and poured yourself and Johnny another whisky.
He nodded and stared into the distance. You waited for him to answer.
“There was a fight two weeks ago and apparently it got really bad. Miguel got kicked off a balcony at school, he fell two stories deep, spine-first onto a handrail.” You gasped. You school also had problems with fighting, a lot to be precise but as far as you knew, no one got kicked off from somewhere.
“He’s been in a coma now for two weeks and they say that the chances of waking up from a coma after two weeks are pretty miserable. He might as well be dead by now.”
“It’s gonna be fine,” you said although not knowing shit about coma, you just wanted t comfort Johnny. You could not stand seeing him so broken you even wished he would go back to his old nature again, hitting on you, joking and just having a good time “He’s probably going to wake up soon and go back to Karate again.”
“You don’t know that!” Johnny said raising his voice, “He broke his fucking spine, (Y/N), even if he wakes up, he’s probably going to be crippled for his whole life.”
He took a deep breath and drank his whisky at once, grunting at the burning feeling in his throat.
“And now my own kid is in fucking juvie for kicking Miguel of a railing and he won’t even talk to me!”
“Wait, you have a kid?” you wondered and stared at Johnny wide-eyed, not knowing what else to say, this was surely a surprise for you. And Johnny went on with his rant.
“Yeah, Robby, he’s 17. But that doesn’t matter now, does it? He’s locked up, doesn’t want to hear a word from me, but that’s okay,” his voice was cynical, you could hear how much despised himself right in the moment and it was painful to see.
“I’ve been a shit father anyways, right? Every single day of his life I’ve been failing him. I wasn’t around much. I did nothing to keep him out of trouble. If so, I only made it worse, I only pushed him to train with Miyagi-Do and what happened to Miguel is all on me.” Despite calming himself down with a drink, Johnny’s voice got louder with every word he spoke. Again, heads were turning towards you, but you didn’t care.
“It’s not your fault what happened,” you said calmly and placed a hand on his shoulder, he was so tensed that you might as well have been touching a stone. And Johnny shook your hand of and let out a hateful laugh.
“Not my fault?” he shouted his lungs out “Who else’s fault is it then? Of course, it is mine. It is all on me, I fucked up. I fucked up both Robby’s and Miguel’s lives and on top of that mine’s not that great either. I spent the night in a fucking cell.”
“Calm down, Johnny,” you said softly and finally went in for a hug “It’s going to be okay; I promise!”
“No, it’s not!” he yelled as you wrapped your arms around him tightly pressing yourself against his trembling chest. At first, he let his arms sink and didn’t do anything, he kept on shouting, making even more heads turn towards all the noise, but then suddenly he buried his scrubby face into crook of your neck and sighed, finally placing his hands on your back, finally relaxing, firmly embracing you. You could’ve stayed like that for ever.
“C’mon, (Y/N), get him out of here!”, you suddenly heard Kenny who stood there, arms crossed, watching you, “He’s scaring off the people.”
You released Johnny from your hold who went back to staring down the counter whilst burying his face in his rough hands, just the way you have found him.
“Yeah, alright, I’ll bring him home.”
“Yeah, sure, feel free to come back to work whenever you’re ready, no rush. Or maybe you want to do home office instead?” said Kenny sarcastically and you rolled your eyes.
“C’mon Kenny, I can’t let him go home like this alone, he’ll kill himself on the way. Besides, he’s probably the reason this place still hasn’t gone bankrupt. And I’m the reason he keeps coming, so maybe we owe him that?”
The big biker in front of you didn’t look too happy but he knew you were right, still, he wasn’t that easy to convince.
“Come on,” you said putting on your best puppy eyes, trying to look all cute because you knew the old man liked you deep inside “I’ll do double shift tomorrow, I promise. But just please let me go.”
Kenny stood motionless.
“Please?”
“Alright, alright, I’ll cover for you. But if you don’t come in early tomorrow…” “I know, I know, you’ll fire me” you finished his sentence and smiled at him.
Then you nudged Johnny who was not getting any of the conversation you just had and told him about your plan about getting him home. He stood up and he clearly wasn’t very strong on his feet. He was swaying from side to side on the way out.
“Okay, give me your keys, Johnny,” you said when you arrived at his black dodge. Normally you would have made fun of the yellow stripes and snakes all over, but you weren’t in the mood for it.
“I think I remember you telling me that you don’t have a license anymore and that you’re not willing to get involved into DUIs anymore.” And yet he submissively handed you over his car keys. You shrugged and got in the car, waiting for him to take the shotgun seat.
“I guess we all have to make exceptions sometimes. Now concentrate and lead me the way.”
“Thank you” Johnny said, his voice now all raspy and he suddenly looked tired “Now you are saving my ass.”

Ævi - Frontlines
Hey again! This will be a continued series. The first Ævi series is in my masterlist and is only four parts. This is going to be a ongoing series, so there is going to be a lot more of Ævi to come. :)
Summary: Y/n or also known as Ævi has lived through varies of world events. Now it is 1941, she has excepted that some things cannot be changed so Loki has convinced Y/n to go to New York and live a normal life, a life Y/n always wanted. Or as normal it can be, because new introductions lead to events that didn’t go down in the history books.
Characters: Bucky Barnes x reader, Steve Rogers, Peggy, Loki, OC Vera
Warnings: Fluff, Violence, Angst, Me being sad writing this, we’re officially in Captain America the First Avenger now… So I guess spoilers? :( :( :(
Note: Omg.. When I tell you I have been dreading writing this part.. But like actually dreading.. Before I started writing this series I wanted it to be no more than 8 parts.. That obviously didn't work out
When I am writing and particularly writing about Bucky and y/n meeting again or them just being in love I always listen to Pirates of the Caribbean to the theme or Will and Elizabeth and I thought it would be good to share that with you guys. To get in the feels. Right now it jumps from POTC One day and the last minute or so from Drink up me hearties yo ho. I know it is so random, but I cannot get it out of my head.
Series masterlist
Part 13
Tumblr media
It took me a minute to get here, but I was now in the Swiss Alps. I got word that this would be the next place the Howling commandos would go to. They think I'm dead, rightfully so, I fell off a train. Thinking about falling off that train with Bucky hurt, like someone was squishing my heart and I couldn't breathe. How was I gonna explain all of this. I should be dead. What are they gonna think of me being here, but Bucky is not. I sighed and brushed away a tear I felt rolling down my cheek.
I came here to help Steve, so that's what I'm gonna do. Ignore the pain for a second and help out.
I was hiding between the trees with a good out look on the headquarters. Nothing was going on yet. I knew Steve was gonna come soon, I just don't know when. I would need to tell him the truth about me. He's gonna hate me. I couldn't safe his best friend, but I'm alive.
These are times I really wished I was not immortal. Even Loki and Thor are not. They aged since I've met them, but me I'm still the exact same as I first was when I touched the stone. That stupid Life stone, but all I've seen is death. Sometimes I wished I never followed that man that gave me the box or I just had never opened the box.
I sat down against a tree and sighed again. What if all of that never happened? I would be with my friends and family. I have not seen them in almost a thousand years. I am not sure if I even remember their faces. I know I look like my mom, but now I can't imagine what she looks like anymore. It is awful. I am not even sure if I would recognize my own mom if I walked past her.
And the worst part of it all, the most selfish part. It hasn't even happened yet. Nobody is worrying about me being gone. Nobody is looking for me. Nobody is sad that I'm gone. Nobody even knows that I'm gone. I got blasted to the past in 2010 and it's 1945 now. In the mean time I have lived for a thousand years, but no one knows, No one human.
I'm not even sure if I want to go back to Sweden in 2010. Because I know I am not the same person I once was. I know I am not the same person they saw on my last day with them. Maybe one day I will go back to them, but certainly not the same day I had left them.
I shook my head. This was absolutely ridiculous. Of all people why me? Why let me be the protector of Life, yet I am always surrounded by death. Maybe it was time to fully use the Life stone. It has been under a protection spell from Frigga for hundreds of years so I won't be a beacon of power that attracts the wrong people. But because of that spell I never really found out what I could do exactly with my power. Sure I am still strong and I can heal wounds, but what is the extend of my full power? What if I could've helped Bucky... "These Hydra people." I scoffed to myself. Another thing that made me angry. Hydra. Before I got zapped back in time I studied history and never once was there anything mentioned about Hydra. But why? They have done all these horrible things, yet I have never heard anybody say a word about it. How is that even possible..-
My thoughts were interrupted by a loud explosion. I looked up and saw Steve zoom by on his motorcycle. Immediately the bunker started blasting at Steve as soon as they saw him. I kept looking at Steve ready to jump in any moment, but he pressed a button on his motorcycle and made the canon of the bunker explode and he got in with ease.
Steve was doing an amazing job fighting everybody off. He made men go down with ease until he was outnumbered. "Shit." I muttered to myself. I made a move to stand up hand grabbed my shoulder. I swiftly turned around ready to hit whoever grabbed my shoulder, until I realized it was Peggy.
"Y/n?" She said with shock in her eyes. Behind her I could see the colonel and soldiers. This was part of the plan. "How.. How are you alive?" Peggy stammered. I wasn't sure if now was the right time to explain everything to them if they were in the middle of their plan. So I decided to leap forward and embrace her.
"I'll explain everything later, but right now tell me what to do." Peggy let go of me and started to quickly explain that they had caught Dr. Zola and he told them that they were going to drop bombs and we needed to prevent that from happening.
"Move out!" Colonel Philips yelled. He gave me a gun indicating I was gonna fight with them. I followed after them and left and right people were being shot at by Hydra and vaporizing into tin air. Peggy was running next to me. We were both trying to shoot anybody that was a threat and they were trying to shoot us. The closer we got the bigger of a target we were. One Hydra agent got a little too close to Peggy and tried to shoot her, but I quickly moved my arm in the way and my bracelets that covered my lower arms caught the blast. I quickly looked up at Peggy who was looking at me in utter shock. But I turned back to the Hydra agent and ran towards him. I leaped forward and kicked him in his chest, knocking him out.
Peggy came running next to me. "You'll explain later?" She said with a smirk. "I'll explain later." I told her as I grabbed the gun from the soldier.
We both ran inside the facility taking out other Hydra agents while also losing some of our soldiers. The Hydra agents that were blocking our way were almost taken out when one spoke up. "Cut of one head, two-.." And I shot him. "Sorry? What was that? You didn't finish." I said with a smirk.
"Alright this way y/n." Peggy told me. "No, you go. There are more of them here and I'll make sure nobody will surprise you from behind. Now go!" I yelled as I ran the other direction.
And on que more agents emerged. I shot at them and one by one they were all turning into dust. For a second I looked down at the gun. I was amazed that this gun was powered basically by a grain of sand that was from the Tesserect. Only gives me more reason to find the full Tesserect. I shook my thoughts away and started looking for it. The Tesserect might be in a lab and if that ugly red skull is there as well it would just be a bonus. As I started running I realized something.
"SHIT!" It's not gonna be in some lab. Hydra is gonna bomb cities in a plane. He and the Tesserect are on the Goddammed plane. "FUCK!" I yelled to myself as I turned around and started running into the direction Peggy went.
How could I not have thought of that? My mind is so distracted I need to focus. As I ran through the hall I saw soldiers laying on the ground. It pained my heart seeing them. But I will not let their lives be waisted. They can't win, Hydra can't win.
I ran though a big door and ended up in a enormous hallway. This is probably where the plane was, but it was gone. People were still fighting.
"Y/n?" I heard Gabe yell from behind me. I turned around and saw him fighting off a Hydra agent. I ran towards him and kicked the agent off and he slammed into the wall. I put my hand up for Gabe to grab and he did that. "I thought.. Steve and I both thought you and Buck-.." I looked down and shook my head.
"Your ok I see." He said as he gave me a quick hug.
"We still got some things to do. The hugging can wait." Colonel Phillips said as he stepped out of a car with Peggy. I let go of Gabe and walked over to Peggy following her. "Where's Steve? I thought he was gonna be with you." I asked her, my mind running with all the things that could have happened to him.
"He is on the plane. He is going to stop it." She told me while having a quick pace.
We all went to the control tower waiting for a response from Steve. It was all nerve wrecking. Steve was up against someone alone in a plane. And in the mean time more Hydra agents had showed up. Colonel Phillips had ordered the soldiers to fight them off while we waited for a response from Steve.
All the wile I could only think that we could not lose. So many people have lost their lives. Because of this stupid war, because of Hydra. So many innocents. They need to be avenged. And Steve has the power to do that. He needs to stop that plane and prevent more people from losing their lives.
"Come in this is Captain Rogers. Do you read me?" We heard over the radio. Peggy immediately went over to the speakers.
"Steve is that you? Are you alright?" Peggy asked in concern. "Peggy, Schmidt's dead!" Steve said over the coms. Relief washed over me. It is done then, we won.
"What about the plane?" Peggy asked Steve. "That's a bit tougher to explain." Steve answered back. There has got the be some place where he can safely land.
"Give me your coordinates, I'll give you a safe landing site." She pressed on. My heart was pounding. We won right? I was a bit unsure now. I didn't like the way this was going.
"That's not gonna be a safe landing, but I can try and force it down." Steve explained. Colonel Phillips tapped my shoulder and pointed to the door. I closed my eyes. I knew where this was going.
We walked out of the room and everything started to blur. We had to win. Steve coming back alive is us winning. We had to win. Everyone in the hall was quiet, besides the gunshots you could still hear from outside. I think we were all trying to listen to what the conversation was with Peggy and Steve.
In just three days time I can not lose.. I can not lose two people I care about. "Please live Steve." I whispered to myself as I looked down.
"This is my choice." I heard Steve say faintly over the coms. "No." I whispered as I shook my head. My heart was pounding so fast I could feel it in my ears. I felt so powerless. Please live. I thought to myself again and again. "Please live, you're a good man Steve." I said quietly to myself again. Anticipating what would come next.
I heard them talk about a dance. Scheduling a date.
"I'll show you how. Just be there." Peggy said her voice wavering.
"We'll have the band play something slow. I'd hate to step on your..." Silence.
I took a few steps back until I was leaning against the wall and closed my eyes for a second. We won, but what did we lose? I let out a wavering breath. I felt myself turn hot. Again I thought of why this was not in any of the history books. I never learned about Hydra, Captain America or the Howling commandos. Was this all for nothing.
My anger was boiling inside of me. All these lives lost.. and for what? I failed, I failed to do the one thing I was supposed to do.
Then something clicked in my mind. If all of this was not important enough to be written down and remembered in books, I'll make sure there is nothing to remember. I am going to kill all the Hydra agents, every last one of them.
I took a deep breath and stood up right and started to head towards the gunshots that were still going on outside.
"Where are you going Ironside?" Colonel Phillips asked.
"To do something I should've done right from the beginning." i yelled back as I went for the door.
As I came to the entrance our soldiers were taking cover. We had the facility. But the Hydra agents were still shooting trying to get through and there were a lot more than I initially expected.
"What are you doing here?! Take cover!" Gabe yelled from his hiding spot at me. I gave him one look before ignoring him and walking straight into the line of fire.
My hands started to glow and I put them in front of me to catch all the blasts that were coming my way. Their guns were strong but I was stronger. Soon everybody from Hydra was shooting at me while I still walked forward. I wanted to be far enough away from my soldiers.
"Y/n!" Gabe yelled after me.
The magic glow started to slowly surround me doing it's job of protecting me.
When I was far enough I closed my hands making fists. "You get what you deserve." I said quietly. I closed my eyes, trying to focus on my power. Where it was coming from and where I wanted it to go. I felt it the power all over my body, but it was the strongest by my heart. I felt it was contained, caged almost. I took a deep breath.
And in one swift motion I opened my hands and put my arms up to my side.
Tumblr media
Gold and white glow blasted out and swirled all around me, it made me slowly float in the air. It became bigger and bigger quickly and as soon as it hit the agents it vaporized, leaving nothing behind. In seconds the Hydra agents the were attacking us were completely gone.
This power felt great. Finally it was being let out after so long. They were getting what they deserved. All of them.
"Y/N! Y/N!" I heard someone yelling from behind me. I turned around. It was Peggy with fear written all over her face.

1972
"Love, you are losing yourself with all this power. You need to control it or it will control you." Loki told me with seriousness in his eyes. "Look around you. Look what it is destroying." I looked up at him. His eyes looked full of sorrow. He was right.
I turned around. Kattegat. All the memories I had here. It was all gone now.

Akaashi Keiji X Reader
Genre: slight angst
Tokyo has always been a busy city. A lot of people walking down the streets, some were talking on the phone, some were anxiously staring at their watches and some were just having a peaceful evening walk.
It was the holiday season, so there’s no shock that the busy streets of the city was filled with couples more than usual. Two people in love with each other, being in each other’s arm as they stared at each other with love-struck eyes. Love seemed to fill the air of Tokyo and the giant tree in the middle of the city made it even better.
But then there you were, a single salary woman who can’t get into a relationship after her break-up three years ago
you stared at the window of the café you. were staying in, looking at a diversity of couples that walk by every few seconds
“geez even grade schoolers have dates” you mumble to yourself as you took a sip of your latte
It’s not like you haven’t tried dating, you’ve met up with a lot of people, every gender but you can’t seem to find someone who can satisfy you, even your friends had to get involved in your dating life, making profiles for you on online dating apps and even setting you up with people they know ranging from their friends to their colleagues and even their family members, but nothing clicked.
after trying for two years you eventually gave up “the right person will come at the right time” you told yourself over and over again
well seems like that person is taking their precious time
"wow talk about looking miserable*
Your head jolted up and saw non other than Bokuto Koutarou standing in front of you with about six different kinds of cake
You scoffed at him as he sat down in front of you
"I think Iwaizumi wouldn't be happy if he sees you eating that Kou" you pointed out to your athlete cousin
"don't worry I'll do extra workouts at home" he says as he begins to dive in the chocolate mousse cake
After being tied with him since like the day you were born, you are now convinced that Bokuto Koutarou will never grow up
"By the way, are you coming next friday?" he asked as he takes another bite of his cake
You tilted your head in confusion
"Akaashi's enggagement party" he looks at you eyes held a hint of worry
"yeah" you nodded
A comfortable silence engulfed the two of you as you stared at the couples passing by again
Do you ever think about me?
"Keiji, what do you want to do for christmas?" you asked your boyfriend who was immersed in his book
He quickly looks up to you his eyes soft
"whatever you want to do love" he said this with the most gentle voice
"but I want you to enjoy the holidays too" you whined and plopped down the couch beside him
"being with you is already enough for me" he says as he leans in to you and gave your shoulder a kiss before resting his head on your shoulders as he continues to read
You smiled ruffling his hair your heart beating a little faster and louder than usual because you knew you felt the same way
When she ain't around, is your bed cold without me?
"Keiji let go I need to make breakfast!" you try to pry your boyfriend's hands off your waist but he just held on to you tighter
"but its a weekend~" he whined
You sighed, he's always like this when he's sleepy especially in the mornings
"but we need to eat, we have plans remember?" you try to convince him
"but I want to cuddle more"
imnotgivinginimnotgivinginimnotgivingini you replayed this pharse for a hundred times in your head now
"how about you stay in bed while i make breakfast yeah?" you try again
Manz quickly shook his head "don't want, the bed's too cold without you"
Well that crumbled your resolve, you just went "screw it" and laid in your bed nuzzling your face on the crook of your boyfriend's neck
Yeah you ended up starting your day two hours late than your original plan
Does her love feels just the same?
"Keiji you need to rest! You're going to get sick!" this is the sixth time you tried to tell him that, you try to pry off the stylus pen on his hand but he just swatted you away
"I need to finish this" he says plainly and continues with his task
"no Keiji, you are not pulling a third all-nighter, I'm not gonna let you ruin your body"
"geez can't you just leave me alone?! you're always nagging and it's very annoying, unlike you, I care about my career"
His sudden outburst made you quiet, you knew that this project was important to Keiji, but he haven't had sleep in like three days, he barely eats and has already consumed a lot of coffee
You only wanted him to take care of his body is that too much to ask?
Your boyfriend's eyes suddenly widen at the realization of what he said
"I-" he couldn't form a form a proper sentence, it seems like fatigue was already hitting his system
You stepped closer to him and gently carass his face "I know love, we can talk about this later, but you need to sleep right now, please, I'll wake you up so that you can finish it on time okay?"
He looks at you, eyes tired, tears threatening to fall down but still had the softness that was only there for you
He nods and encircled his arms on your waist pulling you closer as he nuzzled his face on the crook of your neck
"c'mere big guy, lets get you to bed"
Is she the one to take your last name?
You were cooking dinner for you and your boyfriend who will arrive any moment now
You hummed to yourself as you stir the soup you were making
Too occupied to notice the arrival of your boyfriend, you only noticed when you felt strong arms encircling your waist
"Keiji don't scare me like that!" you scold him
He chuckled and kissed your cheeks "i'm sorry love, you just looked too perfect, I can't wait to marry you"
Whatever the case, I'm glad you're happy
"So this is it huh?" you stared at your now ex-boyfriend tears streaming down your face non-stop
"I'm sorry, things are just not the same anymore" he was also crying
How you ended up this way, nobody knows
"don't apologise, it was the best five years, i hope the best for you, I'll be packing my stuff now" you ended the conversation abruptly not trusting your voice, you immediately got up and entered your room making sure to lock it, only then were you able to let out the whimpers and hiccups you've been trying to hold in
You sighed, it happened three years ago, you were already over it
You stared at Akaashi who was now greeting some of his visitors with his fiance in his arms
His eyes landed on you and you gave him a soft smile, lifted your glasses and mouthed "congratulations"
He also smiled at you and nodded proceeding to talk to more of the guests
You looked down at your drink and let yourself sigh for the second time, your ex is getting married and here you are still single as a pringle
After catching up with some old friends and a little bit of drink you decided it was time to head home
As soon as you stepped out of the venue, the chilly air greeted you, you immediately shivered, you were wearing slacks and a thick long sleeve top and your house was like three blocks away so you didn't feel the need to bring a coat
"geez i forgot its December" you said to yourself as you rubbed your arm in attempt to keep you warm
This was stopped when you felt a coat drape over you
You looked up to see where it came from and a sight of a tall black-haired boy greeted you, judging by the way he dressed, it was clear that he was from the party as well, he also looked very familiar
"uhm-" you were about to take off the jacket when he said
"keep it on, you look like you need it" you decided to not take it off because he was right and he didn't look suspicious but you were still on guard
"thanks" you gave him a small smile
He just nodded but a hint of redness was evident at the tip of his ears, you assumed it was just because of the cold
"I'm Y/N by the way, L/N Y/N" you introduced yourself
"Kageyama, Kageyama Tobio"

Rise of the Forest God
Chapter 17 - Professor Tally Winchester
Winchester Hall was a beautiful, dark Victorian mansion á lá Addams Family that rested proudly upon the tallest hill around. The windows, grey with age and dust were tall and skinny and a rusted iron gate, with weathered carvings now indistinguishable rested half swallowed by dirt and uncut blades of long dry grass. The whole thing blended rather well with the crawling forest behind it.
The team was waiting by the gate, curious and giddy with half-numbed nervousness.
"Well, now I'm definitely interested," Walther commented, peeking through the towering, rusted gate. "This looks like it's haunted by at least three ghosts who died a horrible death. They never found the heads."
October laughed.
"Seriously October, imagine the Addams Family's mansion, now scale it down a little."
He raised an eyebrow. "Can't wait for Morticia to pop out."
"Well, Morticia was definitely not on the phone," Violet noted.
Suddenly, the carved, dark-oak door that rested comfortably in the centre of the home's front opened, and a young man peeked out, adjusting his glasses as he took a moment to assess the situation. After a few moments passed, he noticed the team waiting by the gate, waved to wordlessly grab their attention, and quickly scuttled over.
Tally Winchester was a medium-heighted, slender and bald individual with large, wildly blue eyes behind thick glasses and a countless amount of scattered silver piercings dotted in and around his earlobe. Despite the fact that it was it had just dawned early spring, his skin was sunburnt and tanned, as if he spent most of his days somewhere lost outside. He walked with a noticable limp, and Walther didn't need to wait long for an explanation, when a prosthetic briefly appeared between his worn brown converse sneakers and faded jeans.
"Hi!" He flashed a toothy smiled at the group and opened the gate. "Great to see you, I'm Professor Tally Winchester!" He shook everyone's hands as they trickled past. The sleeves of his petrol flannel were rolled up, revealing a rather out-of-place, faded tattoo of a crawling lizard and a bunch of old scars. "You can call me Tally though."
Violet held out her hand. "Hi, I'm Violet, we talked on the phone."
"Great to meet you all!" He grinned. "Are you coming inside?"
***
"Before anyone asks, I inherited the house," Tally explained while leading them upstairs. "It's rotten and I hate it and the bills are a naked horror but I doubt I can find anything that has more capacities for a library." He opened a door. "Intrate, everyone."
"Remarkable," Doc commented.
Remarkable was indeed an understatemt. The room they'd entered was a library- with a beautiful brick fireplace and huge windows that let in the sparse afternoon sun, bookshelves brushed against the webbed ceiling and sunk into every wall. The floor was carpeted, through incredibly uncomfortable to walk on, and the furniture antique. One wall was plastered with photographs and notes.
"Nice," Walther mumbled, taking the second to once again soak in their surroundings.
Tally grinned, idly brushing aside pages and old notes compromised of incomprehensible scribbles and drawings. His teeth were somewhat crooked. "I didn't replace any of the furniture, but I did sell a chunk of the old books. There was just no space for mine." He closed the door behind them. "So anyway, you wanted to know about the cult?"
"There's been a bunch of murders in Forest Lane that were eerily similar to what it did, so yeah." Thasfield shrugged his broad shoulders. "We suspect the cult might be involved."
"Oh, I heard about that on the news!" Tally sorted the files on the table until he found what he was looking for. Then he looked up. His face was serious now. "At this point I'd like to admit I have a slightly selfish motivation in this."
"What is it?", Violet asked.
"You see..." Tally leaned against the table. "For context, I'm a history professor, but my focus is on cryptids and modern legends. Historical context, potential explanations, yada yada. A few years ago I stumbled across the legend of the Forest God."
Walther's face lit up. "Oh, I remember that story, my parents used to tell it to me when I was a kid! This one guy got lost in the woods, was found dead and after his funeral his reanimated corpse came home and his wife who loved him very, very much-" They side-eyed Violet and Coffee, who in turn glared back. "-couldn't accept that maybe it's not exactly normal that your husband's corpse is vibing around, then after a while he started killing people, then he killed her and then the neighbours buried him in an iron casket in the woods so he would stop randomly murdering people. Right?"
"You summed it up." Tally nodded.
"But who believes in that?!" Violet frowned. "I mean... it's just a legend, right? Somebody finally snapped, had a rough week or something, and people straight up believe his bullshit?"
"He came back from the dead and started murdering people, Violet," Doc commented.
She shrugged dismissively. "We've all been there."
"I don't want to meet you after a bad week," Tally remarked with mild discomfort, absentmindedly flipping through pages of notes and nonsense. "The existence of the man who allegedly became the Forest God is proven. His name was Eustace Wyndham and if you ask me he had rabies and some things were added for drama. But that's not even relevant, because the cult came almost a hundred years later." He slid around the table and opened another scattered file. "1969 they started to worship the Forest God. At first it was nothing special, you know, just the average college student nonsense." He held up an old photograph, subtle wonder in his eyes as he stared into it, before handing it to Walther. "Here, you can take a look at this! That's the entire cult. The guy in purple with the long hair is one of the founders. The other founder left in 1970 after getting a bad feeling about the whole thing. I caught him for an interview five years ago. Lovely guy, sadly died of cancer shortly after. It's a shame. You can pass the photo around! Notice how they're all wearing cow parsley wreaths. That was the flower associated with the Forest God and the flower scattered all over their murder victim's body, or rather what was left of it."
"All the victims had cow parsley in their mouth," Doc realized, dragging a hand up to rest in his soft ginger curls, staring blankly into the distance, thinking.
Tally nodded hastily. "Exactly! And now please look at what I found on my windowsill this morning!"
He limped over to the tallboy, half relying on the nearby furniture for support. Leaning down and throwing open a drawer, after a short while of sifting through papers and photographs, he took out something else. Then he held it up.
It was a wreath of cow parsley.
"That's....not good," Walther murmured after a long moment of stunned silence.
Tally nodded, twirling the flowers between his thumb and forefinger. "You get it. You know..." He leaned heavily against a dusty, worn table and heaved a small sigh. "When Wilhelm called me at first I was very sceptical of it all. I'm not a group project person, if you know what I mean. But this is just the tip of the ice berg and I have a feeling that I might be next, so I decided to work with you." He shrugged his shoulders.
While he'd been talking, Coffee had been furiously typing. He handed Tally his phone and Tally read it out loud.
" 'How about we use you as a bait?' Um... Can you...can you please explain what exactly you mean? That doesn't sound particularly safe-!"
He handed Coffee's phone back to him, paranoid he might accidentally drop it, and the detective started typing an answer, this time with significantly more determination.
Hear me out. So my idea was basically that tonight we let the killer come, but were going to be prepared. In other words, we gather a big group that's going to protect you, and we're going to arrest the murderer once he's here. What do you think?
Tally hesitated for a short moment and chewed his lip, opening his mouth to reply, then closing it again.. "I mean... I guess you have a point, sooner or later he's going to get me either way."
"I mean, let's be real, you can't run forever," Thasfield said, leaning forwards. "Even if you move, it's still going to take a while, and judging by what we know you're being pretty actively stalked, so it's quite possible he'll just follow you and then you'll be killed by a Forest God in a hotel room in Central Graytown. Which probably makes for an interesting plotline in a noir film, but we're talking real life here and I highly doubt you're so keen on landing in the morgue anytime soon. Although the Doctor is an expert at autopsies."
Doc smirked.
".........yeah," Tally admitted. He sat down on the table and scratched the back of his head. "Yeah, that sounds...icky but realistic." He closed his eyes took a deep breath. "Alright. Who's gonna be on this team?"
Doc's phone's rang loudly to shake up their newfound confidence, and he excused himself, stepping back into the dusty hallway to take the call.
"I mean, most of us for starters," Violet said. "But I was also thinking of grabbing Gary Fox and Wilhelm. Strength in number, you know?"
Doc eventually came back to the group. His weathered face was stricken with subtle anxiety. "Bad news."
"What is it?", Walther asked.
"Alice found her mailman by the stables."
Walther frowned. "Okay, and what's so special about that?"
"His left arm was by the stables. The rest of him was scattered across the field."
"Dear God, is he okay?"
"He's okay, but he's dead." Doc turned to Tally, lowering his voice just enough. "Can we settle on tonight?"
Tally nodded. His sunburnt face had notably paled, turning his skin a somewhat pasty yellow. "Sure. What time are y'all coming?"
"Is five o'clock alright with you?"
Tally shrugged his shoulders. "Sure."
