Example: I need to go downstairs. There’s something I need from downstairs. Was it an object..? Or a chore..? Maybe if I go downstairs (because I’m so certain there was something) I’ll remember?

Mind went from step 1–> step 2–> step 3, to simply step 1!!!-> ??

Complete step 1. Now what? Observe. Recall what it was like before this task came up. Investigate usual suspects.

Example: ok…I’m downstairs. Why would anyone come down here……………to feed the cat? No… to get something to eat? No… to grab something I left downstairs?

Something about completing step 1 has triggered a slight memory: step 2

Example: yes, I left something downstairs. Ok where was it supposed to be? On the coffee table…?

Example: [scans table] yes it was the table. Now what on the table… there are a lot of craft supplies on here… why would I need craft supplies right now? what were you just doing Upstairs: was gonna watch stuff on laptop. Was gonna grab tape to stick down peeling stickers on laptop.
