Cut Chaos Part 3

The day you spent with Ranboo, Tubbo, Wilbur, and Tommy after the store might’ve been the best day you’ve ever had. You’re finally able to breathe again, to laugh again. Smiling had started drifting away from you, but suddenly you were smiling so hard your cheeks hurt.

You almost don’t go home. It’s tempting to stay with Ranboo when he offers up one of their many spare bedrooms (and you do mean many), but you decline. Heading back home, closing the door to your bedroom is easier than it’s ever been. Just living is easier than it used to be.

Collapsing onto your bed, it only takes you a second before you start grinning like an idiot to yourself. Things are back to normal, back to how they should be. Sure, you could still be mad at them for what happened, but you were tired of not being around them. Tired of people being pissed off.

It takes you a full three minutes before you roll onto your side and unlock your phone with Face ID. There’s a plethora of notifications waiting for you, from a group chat that you thought was a ghost town. It makes you grin all over again.

Wilbur so we’re all good now?

Laughing to yourself, you swipe out of messages to open Twitter and scroll on it. You aren’t afraid to open it, not like you used to be. Random tweets would remind you of what you lost, of the various people confused why you lost it, but now you’re just giddy. Overjoyed.

Part of you wanted to announce the plans you made with Wilbur, Tommy, Tubbo, and Ranboo. Scream from the (metaphorical) rooftops of Twitter that you were back. The chaos squad was back.

But, as it turns out, Tommy beat you to it. Of course he did, he can’t keep his mouth shut for the life of him. In a loving way, of course.

I like the idea of everything starting anew in Season 2 solely because the new dsmp members can finally stop being ignored. A lot of people stopped logging onto the server because they didn’t wanna confuse the audience with what was and wasn’t canon

But that unfortunately left the new members to just have nothing to work off of. So much of the lore was started by improv and the new members couldn’t have that same experience so they slowly stopped streaming on the server. Now though they can finally be involved!!!!

I think The Incident, as Tommy calls it, had to happen mainly because of that + a lot of streamers wanted a do over on their lore. They’ve admitted to feeling intimidated, stuck and dealing with scheduling issues that have had to make them drop the stories they wanted to tell

Now that the streamers have more knowledge on how to handle lore and what does and doesn’t work we can finally see more stories. Plus the new scheduling system is coming out so that everyone can stream regularly on the SMP

I’m not saying not to have constructive criticism. It’s important to judge the media you consume and everyone is allowed to have opinions. God knows I have my own feelings on the c!niki and c!wilbur apology stream so I ain’t sitting here happy with everything

It’s understandable if you’re upset by the ending, especially with the interaction between c!Dream and c!tommy. CC!Tommy has stated multiple times that he hates c!dream so I think he’s going somewhere with this that won’t end with the victim forgiving the abuser. I’m okay with waiting it out to see how it goes since I believe it won’t end that way but obviously if you need to step away it’s fine. Put yourself first and don’t let anyone tell you you are overreacting

Everything else though? I feel people have forgotten the roots of this server. It was never meant to be a roleplay, much less explode into such popularity. It’s no wonder its a mess, there was no plan to any of this. The streamers had to learn as they went and then the demand for lore just got higher and higher and higher. People started complaining about the long breaks. People wanted quality AND quantity at the same time. So of course the streamers become stressed.

Everyone says they miss the simple goofy improv from the earliest days but then turn around and get mad when the storyline doesn’t follow a Hollywood budget movie. You wonder why streamers are scared of lore? It’s you guys.

This new server allows the streamers to not be stressed anymore. A lot of them are getting the clean slate they wanted and the chance to just breath for once. I for one cant wait to see Season 2 finally allow the streamers to do what they want now that they understand the ropes.

Been trying to figure out what bothers me so much about cc!Wilburs statements about ghostbur and I think I finally have somewhat of an answer

It’s not that ghostbur is dead, it’s the fact that cc!Wilbur went out his way to detail the amount of pain ghostbur is facing while being dead.

Like is he trying to make some point about the world being a cruel place and bad things happening to good people

Because for gods sake we’ve already had that beaten over our heads by every other character in this story. The only difference being their that those characters still try to remain hopeful or fight back against their conditions somehow

cc!Wilbur’s statements about ghostbur (which I’m going to be referring to as ghostburs epilogue from here on out) Don’t line up thematically with the rest of the story

It feels like being cruel just for the sake of being cruel instead for some narrative purpose

Narratively would it not make more sense to leave it up to fans to determine whether ghostbur was indeed his own person and not connected to Wilbur other than the fact that they swap places when they die and have some shared memories or if he was still apart of Wilbur, just without a lot of his key features and therefore merged back into Wilbur after his death thus reinstilling a revived Wilbur with the new lease on live that ghostbur tried to hold on to, the same one which Wilbur lacked when he was alive (which in itself would be a really good subversion of expectations regarding ghostburs existence)

I just don’t understand why cc!Wilbur would make this epilogue except for shits and giggles at us being sad or to I guess make this story more grim dark and thus refute a bunch of the themes that have been built up in the story previously?

I just don’t know but it doesn’t sit right with me

Summary: Littleboo plays a prank on their brother and it leads to then starting a podcast.

You sat at the dining table humming to yourself, a plate of mac and cheese and pork chops in front of you. You were messing around on your phone, watching your brother's stream. He was playing Minecraft, some new SMP with a cool mod, with Tubbo, Wilbur, Phil, and Tommy, as well as a few people you didn't know too well.

As you popped another mouthful of pasta in your mouth, you felt someone tap on your shoulder. You set your phone down and glance up at your mother. She hands you another plate of food, asking you to take the food to your older brother.

It had become a small tradition to bring dinner to your brother if he was streaming late. Normally you would sneak in, set the food on his desk, poke him in the side, and run out. It always earned a good yelp from him and a few moments of chat laughing when he says 'Littleboo just stabbed me with their little fingers!' Today was probably going to be no different.

You send a message in chat- You were VIP'd in his chat, giving you message priority. You spam 'I'm bringing dinner.' about 10 times, before turning off your phone and taking the plate to his stream room. You don't bother knocking, he should be expecting you. You hear him ask chat why they are spamming 'Littleboo.' and giggle.

The door swings open quietly, and you take a few small steps. You pause and listen in to what he's saying. "Chat, Littleboo isn't in here. Littleboo in chat? When?"

You stifle another giggle and sneak the rest of the way in. Once he's for sure distracted by his game, you slide the plate of dinner onto his desk and jab your hand into his side. He squawks out a yell and turns to look at you, only to find you laughing with your hands covering your mouth.

"(Y/N) what the heck!" He tries to sound mad, but the laugh in his words tells you he isn't really. "Why do you always do that!"

You laugh harder, doubling over and clutching your stomach. You can see chat spamming things like 'scareboo' and 'littleboo horror game when?'. You can also faintly hear the others on his discord call asking if Ranboo was alright, or asking about you. You can hear Tommy more clearly than anyone else, shouting "LITTLEBOO!? (Y/N), GET HIM AGAIN!"

"Mom wanted me to bring you dinner," You wipe at the small tear in your eye, and straighten your back once you're able to breathe normally. "I decided to keep to tradition and scare you."

"Very funny." Ranboo rolls his eyes, taking the plate and getting a mouthful of mac and cheese. You once again hear Tommy yelling through his headphones, asking you to get on the call. With Ranboo distracted by food, you're able to quickly snatch up his headphones. You hear him yell at you, but you don't care.

With only a moment to spare you lean in close to the mic, screaming at everyone on the discord call, as well as chat. "Hello! This is a Littleboo stream now! Give me primes- Ah! Ranboo no-!"

Ranboo snatches the headphones off your head, putting them back on his own head. He apologizes to chat and his friends, sending you playful death glares. You only stick your tongue out at him, blowing a quiet raspberry.

As you prepare to leave the room, Ranboo stops you and gestures to the extra chair in the room- It was bought at his 2mil followers milestone, and he made a video of you and him building it together. It was just like his unicorn chair but in different colors. You cock an eyebrow at him, tilting your head in confusion.

"Stay for the stream. You haven't actually been on one in a while."

You can't help the smile that stretches across your face. You hop into your chair enthusiastically, spinning in it a few times before settling in it comfortably. Ranboo plugs in a pair of headphones for you, equipped with a shitty mic, allowing you to hear and chat in discord as well.

You hear Tommy and Tubbo cheering when you say hello to the stream, and everyone else on call gives you a range of greetings, and Phil gives you his classic 'hi mate.'

The stream goes on for about another three hours, and you spend most of it bullying Tommy for choosing avian. Near the tail end of the stream, Ranboo and Tubbo convince you to attempt to beat the game while they talk.

"We should start our own podcast." Tubbo suddenly interjects while you're building a nether portal. "We could call it little beecast."

You hear Ranboo hum, and he nods. "(Y/N) will be our main host and ask the questions." He smiles, poking your shoulder playfully. You hum in thought for a moment before smiling back. "And at the end, we tell everyone to feel a 'little bee-ter'. Y'know, like better, but bee!"

The two boys laugh at you agreeing that it's a good sign-off. You three spend the rest of the night talking about the first episode of Little Beecast.

a/n: I can't really think of a whole story so it's just a small drabble, I'm very sorry for that :(

It was Wilbur's late night chill stream, but somehow the whole sbi just shows up "Oh yeah chat, I almost forgot to mention, we are meeting up with Techno next week, which is very exciting!" The chat just goes wild when they heard the news. "Yeah!! All four of us will meet up! Isn't it amazing and cool and awesome?" Tommy said excitedly, "What? 'four of us'?" you're confused. There was just silence for a couple of minutes, "Oh yeah, y/n, sorry mate but you can't come to the meetup" "What? Why?" Why can't you come with them? You are part of the family after all. "You are too young y/n, what if people think we kidnapped you? We could be in so much trouble for that, which is not very good" Techno explain, even though the chat couldn't see him, they still know that he was smiling and joking because of how he sounds.

You noticed his attitude but weren't sure if he was joking or not, "Stop messing with me guys, I'm just 1 year younger than Tommy", "We're not y/n, what do you mean? Why should we be joking about such an important event? I mean, look at chat!" Tommy said slightly winking at his camera. The chat was playing around with you too which makes you even more concerned. "Oh okay then.." You said as the conversation goes on. You were very quiet all the way through the conversation but none of them notices, "Yea okay Tommy stop babbling for a second so I could read what the chat is saying, they just panicked for some reason". The chat is just spamming 'where's y/n?', 'Y/N IS QUIET',... "Oh shit, y/n I'm very sorry, it's just a joke, we were just messing around" "Oh no y/n", "Oh god, I told you not to do that" "Wait, they fell for it? BAHAHAHAHAHAHA I mean, I'm sorry y/n we shouldn't do that". "Never joke like that again, it's not funny" you were mad but their obliviousness just makes you smile.

IF ALIVEBUR WAS HAMILTON, LET REVIVEBUR BE YOUR CITY GAVE ME ASTHMA!

now, we’ve already established parallels with the album because of the train station limbo being canonized. it’s worth noting that this goes beyond just the visual appearance, as some of the lyrics directly corellate to what c!wilbur experienced, and the core of the song is about leaving.

okay, cool! so theoretically, jubilee line is representative of the afterlife. so what’s next on the album? saline solution.

saline solution is about hypochondria - a type of anxiety where one is constantly worried about being gravely ill, or dying. while this has no direct link to revivebur (yet? we’ve seen him for like ten minutes lmao) the progression of the songs lyrics is very similiar to the way he reacted to his revival. an initial denial, confusion, numbness and worry - lead into a more positively pessimistic outlook.

now - as im writing this, wilbur has been revived for a little more than 12 hours, so there’s no real basis to go off of any other arcs correlating to the next few songs, other than la jollas ‘my own personal sunset’ line relating to the sunrise. that being said:

your city gave me asthma while a sad album, has a fairly bittersweet ending. it’s an album about self-hatred, depression and anxiety. it’s about someone who deems themselves as a horrible person thinking they hurt everyone around them and succumbing to it in a way. but it ends with them finally finding peace by leaving the city, the life that hurt them.

c!wilbur is heavily implied to suffer from mental illness. he’s not ‘crazy’ or ‘insane’ - he was paranoid, and his pogtopia arc was not a descent into madness, it was a spiral into a self-destructive unhealthy illness. and i don’t think cc!wilbur would want to portray someone suffering like that becoming an unforgivable villain. i’m not saying he should get a full redemption - he shouldn’t. because he hurt people, a lot, and those people do not owe him any kind of forgiveness. but he deserves a chance to heal, and a second chance all-together.

and a ycgma inspired arc would be perfect for that.

Some Thoughts on Tommy’s most recent stream (4/29)

(For the record, this isn’t going to be like my other formal analyses. I’m genuinely just ranting here, possibly unedited too. I’m only referring to the characters, unless stated otherwise.

Also obvious warning, this will be fairly negative/critical of the DSMP’s writing, so scroll past if that might bother you. I tend to criticize the media I love, so this is just par for the course in my case.)

Let’s start off with—

The Things I Liked

All of the comedy at the beginning of the stream was wonderful. Ghostbur was incredibly endearing and entertaining as usual, as well as the moments between bench trio. Tommy’s change of plans made sense and the entire journey through the prison was tense and fun to watch. As well as the moment Tommy got caught (it was inevitable.)

It goes without stating, but cc!Wilbur and cc!Tommy’s acting was wonderful—they knocked it out of the park. I liked the little moments of Tommy calming Ghostbur down as Sam screamed at him. I also loved Wilbur's speech about his time in the afterlife when bench trio found him.

As well as the moment with Wilbur admiring the sky and calling it ‘his sunrise.’ I’m also glad that the afterlife was explained to be caused by the Revival Book’s existence and not some general eternal torture every character will be sentenced to regardless of anything they did in life.

But, sadly, that’s about where I stop and have to go into what I didn’t like as much, which is—

Everything Else

I’ll be talking about my major gripes with this particular stream in later bullet points down the line, but for now I’ll bring up the little things that annoyed me. This is all basically nit-picking and isn’t as awful or badly written as some of the others I’ll be discussing later.

First off, Why is Ranboo There? In the stream before this one, Tommy had Tubbo promise to not tell anyone else about their plan. Did he just decide to tell Ranboo anyway? Why? What was the point of asking him to keep it secret if it didn’t matter?

Adding to this, Tubbo and Ranboo were rather unnecessary for any of the other scenes that took place. They didn’t have any meaningful conversations with Tommy besides Ranboo asking why he was dreading Wilbur’s revival so much, as well as Wilbur’s comments to Tubbo about him being president. But other than that they have little to no notable speaking lines.

They don’t Do Anything? Sure, they’re nice to have present so Tommy can vent to someone else and find comfort but, in the end, Ranboo was oddly angry and accusatory with Tommy and Tubbo was practically absent from the scene. The impression I got from Tommy and Tubbo’s conversation in the previous stream implied that Tubbo would be serving a larger role as a distraction, but I guess they changed gears or something?

Then we have Ghostbur’s involvement, which, yeah, makes sense. Tommy, Tubbo, and Ranboo are not allowed inside the prison, so it’s best to find someone else who can get in without suspicion. But my first assumption, upon seeing Ghostbur with the group was, “Oh, he’s gonna go in there and Dream’s gonna use him to revive Wilbur. That’s the only reason why Ghostbur is here and not anyone else, who would also be willing to kill Dream. It’s not like they’re in short supply right now.”

And I ended up being right, which only frustrated me more. I wanted something unexpected. Something new. Something interesting. Yet, I got the most predictable outcome instead—Tommy fails, Wilbur is revived.

Next, we have another big serving of ‘Tommy gets blamed for things he has no control over’ part 241. I am so, so sick of characters getting unreasonably mad at and blaming Tommy for anything and everything. It’s not new, it’s not interesting, it’s not fun. It’s just miserable.

It is,, awful. And it’s highkey frustrating. I refuse to sit through another arc of Tommy being endlessly hurt and blamed for stuff he didn’t do or cannot control. Pick a new event in the plot.

Try something out of left field. Do something, anything different to this. I’m begging you.

Now, we get into the major writing pitfalls and shortcomings. Starting with—

We Need to Talk About Sam

I have no idea what is going on with Sam’s character right now. It is so genuinely confusing. I have no clue why Sam reacted the way he did to Tommy because it just doesn’t make any sense. Sam’s entire inner conflict is about him trying to cultivate and protect his humanity and morality while upkeeping a strict, closed-off demeanor.

He follows the rules, even if it hurts the people he loves. Even if these codes force him into a position to be unethical. He feels it is his responsibility should anything go wrong or if Dream escapes, because it puts others in danger.

His strict approach got Tommy killed, and it also took a life and an arm from Ponk. Both of these people are precious to him. So why on earth would he threaten to kill Tommy when, in their last interaction, he was glad he was alive—after he promised to never let something like that happen again?

He respected Tommy’s wishes to stay away from him, and rather politely too. Why would he then threaten to kill him just after weeks of saying Tommy’s death was his biggest regret? That’s not even touching on Sam saying, “This is why I let you die,” as well as blaming Tommy for something that was directly a result of his own refusal to act.

Why didn’t he have Ghostbur also hitch a ride on the same platform with Tommy? Why did he even let Ghostbur into the prison in the first place if he:

A.) Told Ranboo he wasn’t going to let anyone in there after what happened to Tommy.

B.) Also wouldn’t let people in lest they find out about Quackity’s plan.

C.) Couldn’t even kill Ghostbur because he’s incorporeal and thus cannot fully upkeep the contracts he is signing.

There’s also the issue of Sam breaking the rules he abides by when he decided to not kill Tommy after he snuck into the prison, despite it being in the contract. Why is it different now? He went against his own protocol but was also following it by refusing to let Ghostbur come back to the other platform?

Why does Sam refuse to listen to Tommy? Their argument is mind-numbingly ridiculous. Sam refuses to hurt Dream, despite him only being alive because Sam claimed Tommy wanted him alive.

But now Tommy is there, begging Sam to let him kill Dream, and Sam just goes, “No. We’re not killing Dream.” Fucking why??? Sam! You said you wanted to kill Dream at least four times by now! Maybe more!

You were on your way to do it with Quackity and the only thing that stopped you was your promise to Tommy. But now Tommy’s here, telling you to kill Dream and you fucking won’t???? I am absolutely baffled.

No matter how you spin it, it makes no fucking sense. However, if I tried,,, I could possibly come up with a reason or two. Maybe Dream is blackmailing him. Maybe Quackity is forcing him to keep Dream alive until he can get the info he needs (even though,,, why would he trust Quackity over Tommy, who he’s outwardly stated he trusts just as much, if not more?)

It feels like these plots are dancing around each other, trying to keep up this faux sense of conflict that doesn’t exist. But, here’s the thing, contrived conflict is never compelling. I can’t overstate it enough.

Dream’s Plan is Complete Nonsense

The method to revive Wilbur makes Dream seem even more short-sighted than I remember commenting on, during the stream where Tommy was brought back to life. He told Tommy that his plan was to test the book to see if it worked (which, okay fine, I can buy this.) But then he says all along he was planning to revive Wilbur in order to break out of prison, which is ???? This is baffling if he needed Ghostbur in order to pull this off.

Which,,, I can’t even begin to explain how ridiculous it is that Dream’s entire plan hitched on not only the book working on people to begin with (which he tested on Tommy,,, for some reason, even though he would’ve lost his ‘favorite toy’ if he fucked it up. Which,, why even take that chance in the first place? there are other visitors he could’ve tried this with, surely. Like Sapnap and Bad,,) and it also relied on Ghostbur voluntarily going into the prison just to visit Dream?? And if he didn’t need Ghostbur after all, then why didn’t he bring Wilbur back weeks ago?

That’s not even getting into the issue of Dream assuming that Wilbur, once brought back, would:

A.) Want to be alive in the first place.

B.) Actually be willing to help Dream, instead of telling him to fuck off.

C.) Be even slightly capable of helping him at all when he has no allies, no PVP skill, no weapons, no armor, and no knowledge of the prison or its innerworkings.

Why are the current DSMP writers so committed to making me think Dream is a fucking idiot? I don’t enjoy this. I used to like his character and think he was smart. Stop.

ALSO, why did Tommy or Tubbo or Ranboo not think of the possibility that Ghostbur could very well be necessary to revive Wilbur? Why did that not cross any of their minds? It was the first thing I thought of when I saw him.

Another big thing that irks me is Tommy and Sam saying they saw Dream physically holding the Revival Book, which,,, how? Why? Dream said in previous streams that he burned the book and that was entirely the thing that kept him from being killed outright. If there was a book still in existence, did he hide it somehow?

How did Quackity not find it? Why did Sam not take it from him when he was first arrested?? What?

Also how the fuck did Dream kill a ghost?? They’re incorporeal? How does he not need the body to perform necromancy? That seems almost redundant.

Also it took a matter of seconds to perform? It took,,, ?? nothing but words and sheer willpower to bring someone back to life? Why does it seem so easy? My mans just,, uses his vibes to bring people back from the dead???

Unless the book has instructions regarding that or has a proportional price in order to use, then I’d be more forgiving. But I’m guessing it doesn’t have too steep a cost if Dream could offer Tommy immortality despite that. But I’m sure we’ll get more information on this once Quackity (inevitably) gets his hands on the book. Hopefully…

Which brings me to my last point—

Wilbur’s Revival (Derogatory)

Since the Revival Book was introduced, I have been actively dreading Wilbur being revived. It is the most predictable, low-hanging fruit of a plotline I could possibly conceive of. I understand that he’s a fan-favorite with a large audience (I love Wilbur more than you’d expect. cc!Wilbur is actually the reason I got into the DSMP in the first place), but there are other characters who could be developed more—utilized more.

Unpopular opinion, I know, but I am just so incredibly unenthused about this plot development. In fact, I’d almost go so far as to say hate it.

The Revival Book in and of itself is my least favorite thing the DSMP has ever introduced. It is a lack of consequences simplified. It’s also a lack of commitment to those mortal consequences.

It is a ‘get out of jail free’ card for when they kill off a character and don’t want to deal with the hole that character will leave behind. Or a way to work around the reason they shouldn’t kill Dream on the spot.

With Wilbur back again, I no longer feel compelled by his arc the way I used to. There is nothing to really leave a lasting impact anymore. Of course, there was a cater where L’Manburg once stood, but that was dug even deeper later on. You can’t make the death of a friend, of a loved one, worse than it is. It is death.

The thing I found extremely interesting about Wilbur’s death is the way the other characters portrayed loss. It has consistently been the thing that was most comforting to me, oddly enough. When people die, there will always be loose ends.

There will be holes left behind and things left unsaid. An unfulfilled promise. A forgotten relationship. A hollow memory.

What I always found compelling was the way Tommy and Fundy and Niki took this mutual loss and had to live with it. How they had to come to terms with the fact that Wilbur was gone and he wasn’t coming back. That they had to make peace with his memory, his legacy, and their connection to him.

That they’d miss him and love him or hate him and try to forget him. It is a tragedy that someone like Wilbur wanted to die for so long, and in the end, he did. Because in reality, the people you love will die.

There may be someone in your life that leaves you behind and all you’re left with is the broken pieces. And it is how these characters move on that brings me bittersweet company as someone who’s lost a lot of people. There is nothing more irritating than a story going back on its establishments—to have their cake and eat it too.

All I want is the bare minimum—a story with narrative stakes and consequences.

The only way I could ever see myself enjoying this plot development is if Wilbur has a redemption arc and attempts to make amends with Tommy, Fundy, Niki, and Eret. OR if he aids in Dream’s downfall in some way and enjoys the simple realities of life and wants to live for the sake of living. I’d find that at least new and somewhat interesting.

But if he’s just here to be a moustache toiling villain (or somehow worse than after his previous downward spiral), when the market is already so deeply oversaturated with antagonists, then I will probably drop the series altogether.

Hopefully it doesn’t come to that because I love the Dream SMP and I want to keep loving it for as long as I can.

I will hold onto more reasons to stay, so long as they keep giving them to me.

the cat was called pussboy by tommy, but dream only called it "the cat" and then said that "it was hope", which is why it sort of became a symbol (his hope is dead, basically) - that's why i kind of made its name capitalized, because it was more of a metaphor than anything.

most c!dream fans call the cat hope because it's just really nice and really symbolic, and also really sad when you think about it. that's why the name was used in the essay, just to clear up the confusion!

i don't really think so? mooshroom henry was entertainment more than anything, and even if it was bad, when watching the stream i don't remember seeing him mourn that much - on the other hand, dream was very quickly and very obviously attached to the cat, with it being his only companion in months of isolation, along with the hope that even when tommy left it would keep him company.

keep in mind c!dream has been deprived of stimuli and human contact for so long it's officially classified as psychological torture at that point.

i don't mean to compare trauma or even compare deaths - because honestly, what c!dream and c!tommy have gone through individually is incomparable and i think neither should be diminished in favor of the other since they're both terrible situations.

that's why i disagree that it "was nothing compared to" - it had an obvious effect on c!dream, and was still c!tommy killing an animal specifically to hurt him, no matter what reasons he had.

when i'm talking about effects people's actions have had on c!dream, i'm not talking about those people. i'm talking about him. :) /lh

as for the trauma, a lot of people agree that a lot of the things he says or does are trauma responses, and hence it's very possible that he's had trauma before he went into prison!

this includes being repeatedly called a tyrant via propaganda by about half of your friends who decided to betray you, trying to keep peace and being pushed deeper into villainy instead, repeatedly being put in between a rock and a hard place in order to make sure the people you care about don't start killing each other, then being betrayed by your closest friends after merely trying to keep peace (sapnap & george) and just in general having no control over your life or image and grasping at straws to gain it back.

i know a lot of people with trauma who heavily relate to certain trauma responses, which aren't always just shaky breaths and flashbacks, but trauma often also manifests itself in extremely ugly and destructive ways, both inwardly and outwardly.

trying to control the people around you is also very often a response to going through trauma, as well as emotional repression which is... rather evident on c!dream during season two. it only seems to get worse with repeated abandonment.

in the end, during the vault scene, the way he acts really just isn't at all the way a healthy person would act, and a lot of his really bad mindsets come from the way he was taught by the world around him.

the character is very reserved however, and since we don't have his pov we can't really say for certain - a lot of people claim it in good faith because they have a lot of evidence for it, and i think they're certainly valid in that.

that is just before the prison, however. from what happened during the prison arc? there is no denying he's traumatized at this point.

he's been emotionally and physically abused by c!sam since the very beginning of being imprisoned, and being in solitary confinement for over two weeks is generally considered psychological (and maybe also physical?) torture. that alone shows up in a lot of symptoms of his mental deterioration while in pandora's during people's visits, and quackity's "sessions" just absolutely drove the point home.

what he's gone through during this arc is absolutely incomparable to anything others charactes have faced before, and it's just plain suffering being endured by someone who is, despite everything, still a human being.

as for the wilbur manipulation thing!! it's talking about the whole vassal scene (though even beforehand a lot of their interactions are pretty iffy), and here's a post about that :]

I also have a small question about the analysis u last reblogged cus it says "why dream needed lmanburg gone rightfully" and like. The house analogy is poor because for one cus the land is infinite. And 2 cus punz's yard was literally larger then lmanburg. And also stuff about dream being a mediator? Can u provide examples?

i wouldn't say it was poor. dream's said a lot of times that he didn't care in the slightest about the land - a lot of his problems with l'manberg arose with the fact that wilbur basically built it on lies and tried to disallow half of the server to come there. c!dream was mad about the division and the fact that wilbur wanted "freedom" to have authority in his lands - over others, as can be seen in this post also.

the table analogy was fitting not because dream was some overlord, but because these were literally friends he invited to hang out and live in a place he wanted to call home. claiming a part of it for yourself and saying people of a certain nationality can't come in is directly opposing those goals.

in the early days of the smp, dream's always been a mediator between his friends - sapnap and george, who would often get into fights and go around killing each other! he would always do his best to stop the conflict, which continued after tommy joined when he took him to court and then later tried to mediate conflicts he was a part of, which resulted in tommy killing him unprovoked, stealing his gear, and starting the disc wars when dream was trying to get his stuff back. later, during pogtopia, he is also most concerned with peace over everything, and this seems to continue indefinitely after.

Today i was thinking about how messed up the final control room was. Like. Dream arranged the betrayal and punz and sapnap killed tommy and tubbo who like. Were literal children and their pals (because the author, wilbur soot, is dead/j but srsly if u take the streamers words tommy said he was 9 during the revolution sooo)

Sorry im gonna ramble about how dumb canon ages are for a second cus like. Streamers can say the characters are one way or another (wilbur saying he is mentally 30-something, etc.) But in the end the characters act like they(or at least their streaming personas) do.

i... honestly don't find it that bad? they were in a war, and the final control room was basically just supposed to end it quicker. the l'manbergians made it clear they were going to fight to the death, so they really left c!dream no other choice. and it's not like he didn't give them chances to give up.

also yeah the 9 year old thing was retconned, because in that case c!dream would've been 14 and i don't think that's true.

c!tommy and c!dream were both young and once again, in a war. the final control room was an attempt to assure victory, which both sides would've taken if possible, but only c!dream saw he had the option.

i do agree the whole child soldier thing was bad but... complain about that to c!wilbur, methinks. he talked naive kids into fighting for his personal power. however, the age argument isn't really valid either way. they had enough agency to sign up for it, and whether or not c!wilbur pushing the intense nationalism onto them had something to do with that is another debate entirely.

Bacl to final control room cus like??? Also fun fact punz took 2 of wilbur's canon lives. And like that probably is what started wilbur's paranoia which later lead to his spiral and i. Many thoughts full of lmanburg today.

i'm pretty sure cc!wilbur said what lead to c!wilbur's spiral was a "dark, twister view of possessions" and "disregard for his fellow citizen whom he claimed to love so much", but i really wouldn't say it was the control room; if anything the sudden loss of power after the elections seems to me like the trigger for his spiral.

I watched the exile arc live and. I feel dirty almost for feeling little to no sympathy for c!dream (srry ive been forgetting to add that aa) because of his actions toward c!tommy and like. The whole probation was so humiliating and unfair and c!dream was planning to frame him for the crimes he and puffy did under the the guise of "pranks" and c!quackity was planning to seize the vice president role.

i mean... to be fair, if you didn't watch the prison arc much yet or only watch tommy's perspective i understand not feeling that sympathetic - however, i encourage you to maybe watch a few prison visits, since they could help you see the whole picture better!

i also watched it live, and i also thought it was terrible, but i share very much the same sentiment for the prison arc because. absolutely no one should have to go through either of those things, you know?

i don't think probation was that humiliating? he was just. being asked to not start conflict with the other factions for two weeks. of course, what happened as a result is in no way justified, but i don't think probation itself would've been bad at all. either way yeah the framing and c!quackity's behaviour was. very yikes, i agree.

Also c!tommy antis are dumb because they say "he deserved exile angry emoji" i dont see u saying that about ranboo. Just say you hate cc!tommy and go. Also people say c!tommy was just as toxic to c!dream and i??? No. One is the victim and one is the abuser and like. :/// man. This part is rambly srry

i wouldn't say they hate cc!tommy? cc!tommy has a persona who people think is annoying at first ( but then they subscribe because he is super entertaining big man! ) but a lot of c!tommy's actions are straight up toxic to certain characters, such as c!funndy and c!jack. he has a very dismissive attitude towards others and their trauma and it does affect the people around them very negatively.

examples; his repeated bullying and behavior towards fundy:

Tommy: “Fundy, I’m just here to kinda let you know that I – if you weren’t Wilbur’s son, you would be out of L’manburg, alright? Just remember – you need to keep that relationship with your father. I saw how asshole-y and bratty you were acting in the courtroom the other night. You need to pull your shit together young man.”

......

Fundy: “I’m wearing glasses…are you making fun of my eyesight?!”

Tommy: “Yes.”

Sapnap: “Your father would be very disappointed.”

Fundy: “Wh – disappointed for wearing glasses?!”

Tommy: “You got glasses, like what are you wearing…”

Fundy: “What do you mean?”

Tommy: “Sapnap, Sapnap, over here. Fundy, Fundy, Fundy, I’m really sorry to say this – I’m just here to publicly denounce you.”

Fundy: “…What?”

he's also responsible for a big chunk of c!jack's trauma, both with actions and words, and that's why i think certain people might dislike the character, and i don't think that's wrong of them. anyone can dislike any character they want if they don't attack people for liking them, in my opinion.

also c!tommy was most definitely toxic against c!dream in the cell. it's of course understandable but that doesn't change the fact he was constantly hitting and insulting him (without dream doing anything back for a long while until he snapped) which is toxic behaviour.

i wouldn't say he was "just as" though, so i agree with you on that. they're different and they behave differently.
