author's note: this piece is a bit angsty, just how I love it :)) also mingyoung is a completely made up person. enjoy the chapter and feedback or thoughts are always appreciated! x

''I don't know how they do it.''

Hobi's listening party was absolutely stacked with people, a lot of people Maya knew, but also a lot of people that she didn't knew. She had her doubts about going to the event, since she and Jungkook weren't publicly dating, but they agreed to just stay out of each other's way and meet up after the party was done.

She was having a great time. She reunited with some people she hadn't seen in a long time, like Sunmi and Dongmin. Yes, she was sad that she couldn't go up to her boyfriend, but she was there to support Hobi and she wasn't looking forward to having a dating scandal just yet.

Maya had interrupted her conversation with Lee Hi as she finished her drink and wanted a new one. She excused herself and walked up to the bar. She was handed a new glass of champagne and was about to walk back to her previous conversation partner when she stopped herself. Two people on the dance floor caught her attention.

Hyuna and Dawn.

The idol couple seemed to be in their own world, looking into each other's eyes as if one would disappear if the other one looked away. They danced, not caring one bit about what any bystander would think of them.

The Twice member must not have been subtle with her staring as someone took the place beside her and talked to her.

''Excuse me?''

The unknown woman pointed at the dancing couple. ''I don't know how they keep going after all that scrutiny just because they're dating.'' The confusion on Maya's face was evident, since the woman immediately followed her words up with an introduction. ''I'm sorry, I'm Minyoung.''

''I'm Jieun, nice to meet you.'' She introduced herself with a small bow of the head. Minyoung chuckled. ''Yeah, I know, I think the entire country knows.'' She joked, making the female idol even more uncomfortable.

''It's weird that after all these years, people are still so sensitive about idols dating. It's crazy.'' Minyoung continued, but Maya had no idea what to say to the woman. Why would she discuss such matters with a person she's never met before.

''You're an idol, what do you think about it?'' She directed the question at Maya, who wasn't very impressed by the conversation and just wanted to go back to people she did know.

She shrugged her shoulders. ''I don't really care about the personal lives of other idols, to be honest.'' Maya kept it polite, not wanting to come off as rude.

''Fair point,'' Minyoung said, ''but still it must not be easy.''

''I think, especially for the BTS members. I mean, they go further than just Korea, they're worldwide, the impact would be huge and not just on them, on their partner as well.''

Minyoung continued. ''How could you be in a relationship knowing the people that support you are completely against it and throw mean words and threats towards the person you love. A relationship like that just wouldn't work and especially if it's with another idol. Just imagine, it's either breaking up or giving up your career. Who would risk that for another person?''

It made her sad for some reason, listening to Minyoung's mini rant about idol dating. Her and Jungkook had been dating for more than a year and everything was going pretty well. Conflicting schedules were annoying, yes, but they knew that beforehand. So, why did she feel so discouraged all of a sudden? Maybe somewhere deep inside she knew that what Minyoung was saying wasn't entirely false.

Maya looked over at Jungkook who was sitting next to Taehyung and Namjoon as they were being filmed by their staff for some behind the scenes content. He was smiling around them, looking genuinely content about being with his members. As she looked at him, she thought about Minyoung's question. Who would risk their entire career, that they've worked on since they were a kid, for another person? Would she risk the career that she has been building since she was 11 years-old for someone?

''It was nice to talk to you, Minyoung,'' Maya held out her hand for the woman which she took and shook, ''I have to excuse myself, I have early schedules tomorrow.'' She did have schedules the next day, but thet weren't early at all. ''Likewise, Jieun. Have a good night.''

''You too.''

Maya put her glass of champagne down on a random table and made her way towards the exit, not even caring about saying goodbye to anyone, she just wanted to go home and lay in her bed. ''Unnie, can you pick me up?... Yes, from the party… it's not done yet, I'm just very tired… yeah, but he's with his members, I didn't wanna interrupt that… yes, I'll wait there… thanks… see you soon… bye.'' Jeongyeon had always been one of the members she confided in the most, she had this motherly nature about her that made Maya trust her so much.

Maya waited outside in the parking lot for her member and immediately got in once Jeongyeon had arrived, wanting to get out of there as soon as possible.

''Are you okay, Ji?'' The older one had sensed straight away that something was off with her fellow member, she could read them all like a book.

She was about to nod and lie about her true state, but realised that she didn't have to fake anything with her members. ''Can you answer something for me and I need you to be as honest as possible.''

Upon seeing her unnie nod, she proceeded. ''If my relationship were to be leaked to the public, do you think it will last?''

The question visibly took Jeongyeon by surprise, a frown forming on her face. ''Where is this coming from? Did something happen?''

''Can you answer first, please?''

Jeongyeon sighed, a deep breath leaving her mouth. ''Jesus, Ji, I mean, there will obviously be a lot of talk about it. People will have their opinions, but I think if you guys really want to make it work, I think it will last, yes.''

Maya simply nodded, taking her words in. ''Okay, thanks.''

''Can I get an explanation, please?'' Jeongyeon asked, still confused as to where her sudden question came from.

''It's nothing, I just had a conversation with someone and I wondered what your opinion was.'' The vague clarification didn't ease Jeongyeon's worries any less, but it was late and she was too tired to ask further about it. ''Alright, let's go home now~''

''Hey, hyung,'' Jungkook tapped Jun on the shoulder, ''have you seen Jieun? Can't find her and she isn't texting me back.'' He whispered, not wanting anyone to eavesdrop.

The eldest shook his head, not having seen her for almost the entire evening. ''No, sorry.''

Jungkook desperately looked around once more, despite having searched the entire place for his girlfriend, but no result whatsoever. ''Shit.''

''Maybe something came up, I wouldn't worry about it.'' Jin tried comforting the maknae, not thinking much of Maya's absence.

''What's up Jungkookie?'' Jimin had walked over to his members upon seeing Jungkook's distraught face. ''I don't know where Jieun is.''

''I saw her leave about 20 minutes ago, I think.'' Jimin calmly said, remembering seeing her leave the room. ''Wait, you didn't know?''

''No! She's not answering her phone, why would she suddenly leave?'' It wasn't that out of the ordinary for Maya not to answer calls or texts, but it felt a bit different to him this time.

Jimin and Jin didn't really know what to say to him, they also felt a bit confused by her lack of response. ''She probably has a good reason, you know her, she wouldn't just leave without a reason.'' Jimin squeezed Jungkook's shoulder, an attempt at calming him down a bit.

The youngest one simply nodded, too caught up in his own mind. ''Yeah, you're right.''

Guk: please call me, darling

Guk: did something happen?

Guk: do i need to beat someone up? You know I'll do it for you

Guk: please

Guk: please 🙏

Ji Ji Jieun: I'm fine, honey! I had a headache and the music was a bit too loud for me. Jeongyeon-unnie picked me up, no worries x

Guk: Okay, I hope it's nothing too bad!

Guk: Rest well, yeobo x

Ji Ji Jieun: me too ❤️

While Jungkook danced the night away with his friends and members, Maya laid in her bed wondering how kind the future will be for her and her loved one.

I remember when hyuna, who debuted at 14, expressed actual concern for n*wjeans and their fans were at her THROAT in the same way that they go after any regular person who talks about the fact that debuting that young is messed up. Like personally I don't think you need to have experienced it to realize the potential effects that debuting so young can have on people psychologically but the fact that idols who did talk about being worried for those girls and share their own messed up experiences and n*wjeans fans *still* don't listen to them and act like they're trying to tear the girls down and are jealous (?!)...

I obviously don't have any way to see the breakdown of their fans demographic (and this is mostly based on western fans since that's whose tweets I see) but it seems like so many people who are fans and defend them and their concepts (and mhj 😒😒) are adults and its just accepted as normal. Sorry to compare them to nct dream (😭) but I think they're probably one of the best comparisons to make and as someone who's the in the dreamies age range and was a minor when I stanned, I know that adults fans were definitely seen as weird for actively being into them. Honestly, at the time and especially looking back, I genuinely feel really sad for them and any idol who debuted as a minor for having been in the spotlight at such a young age for so many reasons. I hope those girls have good people around them that aren't mhj. She can rot in hell

i remember that too! she's one of the people i had in mind when i talked about idols who show support so that the girls know they have somewhere to turn. that was such a horrifying thing to see because hyuna never once said a word against their debut or them or their company either, just in support of the girls themselves. there was never anything negative. but it was that support for them that drove the fans mad which is so much scarier than if she had alluded to any negativity. because why are you so amped up over a senior in the industry wanting to offer support for your faves knowing that they're circledby predators? on the other hand where was the outrage when adult male idols said they were fans of nj? because as soon as they clarified that they weren't 'attracted to them physically', people moved on and excused their status as a 'fan' of them' so it's better for an adult male in the industry to be a fan of a minor than an adult female to be a part of a support network for a minor? makes sense. and no. i think dream are a perfect example because to my understanding they were debuted with a similar goal as n*wjeans! the only difference is that they went the complete opposite way. they were supposed to pander to adult women rather than adult men, and i guess mhj's research led her to the belief that that concept was what attracted grown women.. sadly those are the only people i ever did see be into them, and it's so creepy and disgusting and the fact that you, in their age range and a minor at the time potentially wouldn't have been able to have a safe enough space because of adults obsessing over people your MINOR AGE is absolutely crazy. and the same thing is happening now. any minors that started out stanning this group of kids have stopped not only because of the controversies but because everywhere they turn within the community they've built around this group they're met with somebody double their age.

Miss Jennie has become a yacht girl in her week in Cannes, she has been put on sale for 2 (2.5?) MILLION DOLLARS and then you can have one night w YG “favorite” princess, and I think at the end it was brought by one random CEO. Worst part? She got only 12% or 20% for her work and the rest was her company that received. It’s mf wild. I used to look for tea on her, but girllllll I would say that K-pop can be even darker than America Hollywood because how these groups are put on sales like wh**** and they don’t even receive the whole payment…. I won’t even start in the mess Rosé is in… she will soon become a yacht girl too if she don’t stop giving YG reasons to keep her in a chain.

Thank you for confirming what I suspected. Before these blinds dropped I always knew and suspected she was a yacht girl. I just didn't say she was and kept it to myself cause kids today want proof but older objective fans know Hollywood dirt & tea 80% of the time is speculated about and dropped by those sources you've mentioned. I've seen many stories on LAA over the years leaked there through Incogs that were later released in the news or tmz later.

You don't get to Jennie level and not get pimped out. That's just facts. I do not care what any fan says. I knew it when she got on the idol and worked with weeknd she was selling pussy. The fact it's company managed is not shocking at all but is sad as fuck and underwhelming like you've conveyed. These teen fans, kids and adults who don't regularly study these things aren't familiar with yachting and thinking these girls are just vacationing hanging out and partying. Also that's a great price for her honestly. She's unrelated to this HyunA if she had crossed over during Red era and How's this era would have gotten 3.7-5 mill easy cause of body and her skills.

Thanks for the tip. I just knew she had to be yachting or escorting and not freestyling either. I feel indifferent about it cause sex is a huge hidden secret trade business in kpop and now even bigger cause of them being validated in America. I want to pretend to be surprised that rose is on her way to that but I'm not. Something about her always have me the vibe she'd end up in this way.

Again, I don't feel bad for Jennie cause they need to stop foolish and actually link with an American celebrity for a PR relationship or hook up or actually give that pu$$ away in a normal relationship to an investor or CEO as a GIrlfriend and get them to help buy them out of their contracts so this isn't a thing anymore. I've yet to see an idol step up to the plate and actually crossover to establish themselves away from the market minus features on songs, photo ops at events and parties etc.

Idgaf what anyone says, networking and social climbing is how to advance in Hollywood these days. Look at Pete Davidson, Travis Kelce (nobody @ me on this) ice spice and a ton others I can name. If I was Jennie I would have already done that. Shit I would have took advantage of the weeknd cause what does Selena have that Jennie does minus full boobs and clout? Chile.

Anyways, I remember seeing Usher whispering to Jennie during the fashion show he wanted to work with her. And he's doing that obviously cause she's a boost and good look for a track. If she had sense and YG isn't keeping her on a leash, she should have went to Ushers Vegas show and get a spotlight.

yoongi has not left your side for a second. from the moment he’s wheeling you into the room (despite you insisting you didn’t need it) and throughout the entire delivery, his next to you holding your hand. and you love it, sad that he hadn’t been there first time around - but you don’t dwell too much on that.

he was here now and that’s all that matters.

he’s so encouraging and calm, coaching through each push, wiping the sweat at your brow and pressing loving kisses to the top of your head. despite the pain, it’s easy with him next to you. plus the decision of having an epidural, and not having to be cut open… it’s ten times easier than hyunki. and yoongi is so proud of you. he feels it swell in his chest when your brand new baby girl is being presented to the both of you, crying loudly with her ten toes and fingers balled into fists. so pretty, she looks just like you.

hyuna is being placed on your chest only for a moment, the mess between your legs being cleaned up as yoongi stares down at the two of you - love swimming in his eyes. he’s reaching for her without a second thought, despite the sliminess all over her skin. but he’s being intersected by the nurse, who’s beating him at lifting hyuna up - making her way out of the room. “where are you going with her?” yoongi’s a second from tackling the lady for his daughter.

an exhausted laugh is leaving your lips, head shaking as your hand reaches for yoongi’s. “just to clean her off, they’ll be back.” you remember your reaction being similar when they were taking hyunki away. minutes later, hyuna is being brought back to the room and yoongi is jumping at the chance to hold her. she’s so small on his arms, staring up at him with her big dark eyes and he can’t believe she’s finally here. and the sight of you, resting with your eyes gently closed. cheeks flushed and hair sticking to your face with sweat.

he’s so in love with you it’s crazy and the two beautiful kids you brought into this world for him, it’s no surprise when the tears well up in his eyes rolling down his cheeks. you hear him sniffle and that has an eye opening, head turning to face him. “you okay, baby?” his teary eyes find yours, reaching a hand up to wipe his eyes. “i’m okay. i just love you so much,” he’s full blown sobbing, overwhelmed by the emotional day that the both of you have had, along with all the feelings swirling in his chest. and you’re quick to stretch your arms out to him.

“aw, sweetie. come here.” he’s quick to make his way over, handing a dozing off hyuna to you before crouching down beside you. his head is finding your chest and your fingers are quickly burying in his hair. “i love you too, baby.” your lips are finding his forehead and he’s smiling up at you, large hand finding your belly.

it’s a tender moment that lasts all of fifteen seconds before the door is being thrown open and hyunki is running in. taehyung is steps behind him, urging him to be quiet. he’s ignoring the request. “can i hold her!?” he’s shouting and yoongi is quick to stand, lifting hyunki into his arms in order to give you and the new baby some space. “let’s wait a few minutes okay, bud.” he’s nodding, despite the fact he doesn’t agree.

“she looks like you, mommy!” hyunki is pointing out, leaning over his fathers grasp with shock on his face. “taetae, do you see my baby sister!?” his excitement is cute and you’re gesturing for yoongi to set him down on the bed. with hyuna secure in your arms, you’re allowing him to help hold her and it takes everything in him not to jump for joy with the tiny baby in his arms.

slowly, the rest of your friends enter the room. each noting of alike you and the new baby girl look and jungkook not missing the chance to crack on the obvious tears in yoongi’s eyes. everyone is joking and laughing, happy for you and your little family and you don’t remember the last time you’ve felt so loved.

Alright so about the fake eggs thing, there are some liquid egg-y mixtures, I use them for omlettes and whatnot. You can add kala namak to make it taste extra egg-like. I feel like some meat replacements are more for non-plant based people unless you like meat, cause the flavour is a bit too intense sometimes. 🤚🏻 Like I tasted new faux tuna recently and why did it smelled and tasted SO FISHY. Tonight on Top Gear Cya from OneWe put a song on the Planet Nine album called Veronica. It’s about this girl he had a crush on when he was in kindergarten. Her name was Veronica and he never told her he had a crush on her. He’s kept this Veronica girl in his heart this entire time. I cannot imagine how heartbroken he must be. Can you imagine waiting years and years and years and finally getting to make a song after your first crush and the poor girl never even knew who he was and probably never will. The way Cya’s confession and explanation of the track automatically made me bawl. My heart all day today, my emotions all day today. Yes if it weren’t for my moon I would not have ugly sobbed over that. Here I was clowning them because there was no Heather or JD and it was actually about a crush that Giwook had as a 5/6 year old and carried that memory with him his entire life. HE LITERALLY SAID “I wanted to create an island for just the two of us” DONT FUCKING TOUCH ME OR TALK TO ME IM NOT DOING THIS

Sequitura’s guide to Kpop if for some reason you want to get into it

(Not recommended, the fandom culture is insane, though there are some nice songs)

These are songs that I really liked on the first listen and continue to like. Some songs take a while to grow on me, like “TT” by Twice. Those aren’t on this list.

They're not my top 100 - those would be too particular to my tastes and I tried to cover a range of musical styles.

* means that the song is a b-side (not the primary promoted song in an album) and thus probably doesn’t have a music video.

Oh My Girl (cheerful group with KILLER catchy melodies) -Windy Day -Dolphin -Coloring Book -Closer -(optional listening) Secret Garden if you really liked Closer -(optional listening) Nonstop if you like catchy dance tunes, but after some of their really good stuff it'll pale in comparison. It's good gateway Oh My Girl, though.

Blackpink (they do a lot of hype songs; cool vocal colors; actually not bad rapping for kpop) -As If It's Your Last -Playing With Fire -Lovesick Girls

f(x) (experimental girl pop) -Rum Pum Pum -Nu Abo

KARA (exhilarating dance tunes) -Step

Brown-Eyed Girls (they've covered pretty much every genre at this point, but boundary-pushing is their main theme) -Kill Bill -(optional listening) Abracadabra (not personally my thing, but the EDM bassline was super fresh at the time and still is) -(optional listening) Warm Hole (really catchy 60s-esque bop)

Taeyeon (former main singer in Girl’s Generation) -4 Seasons -(optional listening) Spark (not the greatest song in the world, but the lead-in to the chorus is great.)

T-ara (ridiculously cheesy dance tunes) -Roly Poly -Sugar Free -(optional listening) Lovey Dovey (if you loved Roly Poly)

Hyuna (a great performer who sells any song she’s in) -Trouble Maker -365 Fresh -Bubble Pop

CLC (they’ve unfortunately probably broken up now. Super talented group who’s bounced from genre to genre trying to get something to stick, leaving bops along the way.) -Pepe -Show* -No

Weki Meki (they’re slowly finding their niche, which is likely to be smooth club stuff) -Crush -(optional listening) Cool (I recommend watching their relay dance/dance practices and giving Lua some attention)

BOL4 (“indie”-ish band; not a big fan of most of their stuff) -Travel (but they did strike addictive gold when they went more rock)

Gfriend (Strings, guitar, and some of the best/most consistent vocalists in kpop right now) -Navillera -Mago

Dreamcatcher (a very unique, metal-influenced sound. Amazing dancing. Probably supported by the most humane company in kpop right now.) -Scream -Over the Sky* -Black or White* -(optional listening) And There Was No One Left* (idk why but this one hits me. It’s so sparse and yet makes you feel so disconcerted.) -(optional listening) Silent Night* (if you like the musical aesthetics of the song “Everytime We Touch”) -(optional listening) Can’t Get You Out of My Mind* (if you liked Silent Night)

Twice (“The Nation’s Girl Group”) -Fancy (kind of the only song of theirs that I adore; ask me for more recs if you really like them.)

Ailee (known as the Beyonce of Korea) -I Will Show You (an unironic “yasss” song) -Heaven (gee, this song is sad but never lets up with the power vocals as well, which I think works better than a straight-up slow ballad)

Loona (I don’t really click with them, but a few songs have hit me first listen) -Voice* (it sounds like a beautiful, brisk skate across a mile-long lake) -New (by Yves – it’s super flowy) -ViViD (by Heejin – I love sassy swing tunes what can I say) -(optional listening) Heart Attack primarily for the music video

EXID (power vocals + brass + hip-hop? I don’t really get it tbh but good singing can sell me anything.) -Ah Yeah

After School (I don’t know this group but this song is a bop. Might be one of my top 20 favorites of all time and I only heard it yesterday.) -Bang!

Sunny Hill (very unique social commentary music) -Pray (warning: one of the most disturbing music videos I’ve ever seen, but definitely worth a watch if you have a strong stomach) -The Grasshopper Song (music video is nicer)

(now we move into territory with guys in it. I personally think male artists in Korea release fewer great songs than female artists, beccause the general trend is to be “dark” or “moody” compared to the more melodic trends in female groups. If you like strong choreography or braggadocio vibes, though, you’ll probably like them better.)

AKMU (singer-songwriter sibling pair and probably my favorite composers in Korea right now.) -Dinosaur -How People Move -(optional listening) Happening (somehow gives coffee shop music a driving rhythm) -(optional listening) Like Ga Na Da (this is a song about the alphabet. It is still insanely catchy.) -(optional listening) Melted (sad ballad)

TXT (this group has other songs, but I don’t like any of them nearly as much.) -Runaway (like the classic boy group sound set on fire. A really nice pre-chorus of all things. Love the guitar.)

Ateez (they might become the next BTS; not sure.) -Wonderland (like... pirate hip hop/rock. Watch with choreography.) -Wave (a surprisingly potent summer song) -(optional listening) Say My Name

Shinee (some of the most talented dudes in kpop) -Lucifer (probably the only kpop song to pull off a one-note chorus well. Sounds like it was produced by people who evolved in a different universe.) -View (super smooth, groovy deep house song.)

Oneus (their good stuff goes hard) -A Song Written Easily -Valkyrie

Stray Kids (don’t know the group; song is great) -Miroh

A.C.E. (one of the only kpop groups doing hardstyle and surprisingly enough, I like it.) -Goblin -Cactus

Seventeen (don’t really know the group; song is great) -Mansae

It was the early hours of the morning when Oh Sehun was only done a quarter of his assigned research. Despite his former role as head curator at the International Art Museum in New York - a highly respected position, Sehun had succumbed to doing the dirty work for the head director Johnny Suh. The reason? To secure his job and title.

While in New York, Sehun was fired due to circumstances that remain only between him and director Suh. Even if he did have a unique eye for art and historical artifacts, that didn’t matter to the higher ups in the field if he lied. Thus, assigning pages of research and tasks for the next year was deemed a reasonable punishment in the eyes of the department.

Sehun’s eyes are sore and tired from the countless words he’s read. His wrist aches from the pages he’s recorded, and all he wants is to quickly go home to the comfort of his cat and couch. groaning at the papers and books sprawled out in front of him, sehun covers his face with his book, eyes closing in frustration. “8 more months... just 8 more months” he assuringly murmurs to himself.

he may be tired but he doesn’t fail to notice the white cloth that drags behind a figure. wondering if he’s seeing things, he forces himself to waken up and lift the edges of the book that blocks the full view. that let’s him get a glimpse of your shadowy figure that’s swiftly prancing through the shelves of books. Your white dress dances behind you, matching the movements of your long curls, and he swears he’s seen you before.

“One of the actors that dresses up for the kids exhibit?” - It doesn’t make sense since it’s far too late for them to be getting off work. “A part timer?” There weren’t any newbies that he remembered to resemble your appearance.

Carefully controlling your movements and sounds, you successfully make it a few feet away from the door, unbeknownst that Sehun’s eyes were glued to you. He knows that no one would enter the library and leave without a book or record in their hands. You simply held the fabrics of your dress, clutching tightly with all your might.

“You’re forgetting something aren’t you?”

You held your breath, hands stopping just at the handles of the wooden doors.

“Shit”

The sounds of a chair being pushed back and precise footsteps followed in your direction. “You seem to have left what you were looking for haven’t you? He studied the back of your outfit and perked his brow in suspicion. “Which department are you from? Archiving? Communications?” Your silence confirmed the curator that you could be a museum thief or a spy for another museum. “Who are you?” he asked, getting ready to spin you around and reveal your identity. But before he could do anything else, you did what you thought was best.

Flee.

Sehun chased after you, determined to find your true identity. Pushing the heavy and old iron doors of the library you ran as fast as you could, away from the strange man. Still clutching your dress with fear, you ran under the hanging war planes displayed above the main entrance. Usually you would have stopped to admire the grand aircrafts like every other night, but tonight you were running too fast to stop. Your pace quickened after hearing the fast approaching steps of Sehun, indicating he was right on your tail

Arriving to the main hallway of the museum, it was bustling with the many relics and artifacts that had come to life. From prominent war generals perched on their horses to the famous yet very dead British royalty that filled the room. Obviously wax figures of the originals.

Scanning for someone to let them know about the witness, a hand suddenly grasps your own, spinning you around to stare at them. Panting and out of breath, Sehun smirks at your surprised reaction. “You didn’t answer my question”

aggressively trying to free from his strong grasp, you pleaded desperately. “Please.. let me go...” his expression softened and he released some of the pressure. Instead, he pulls you closer to his chest and whispers in your ear. The distance made you blush with embarrassment and try to move away but he didn’t let go this time either. “There will be consequences to your actions.” he threatened. “The museum security and police department will take action if you don’t say who-”

Sehun’s words faltered, entranced with the view behind you. People, objects, and animals of all historical time periods were together. William Shakespeare was talking to Muhammad Ali, while a massive Jeff Koons ballon dog was prancing amongst cavemen singing the new Katy Perry song.

It was a sight that made Sehun astonished enough to loosen the grip on your wrist completely. Seeing this as your chance for escape, and revenge, you slapped Sehun right on the cheek. The impact of the slap left a visible red mark on his skin, along with an echoing sound that brought attention to the scene unfolding.

You scoffed at the disbelief evident in his face, and turned around swiftly, your long hair grazing his face. You made your way to HyunA and Lisa who sat by the water fountain, stopping in the midst of their conversation to what the commotion was. Instead of you, Sehun was more-so worried about the sharp swords that were now being held against him.

At the words of war general E. Dawn - who happened to be in the room, British soldiers held their weapons against Sehun and slowly cornered him to a wall. The room’s vibrant chatter had now come to a silence as others realized what was happening. Sehun gulped in fear but didn’t back down and analyzed the situation logically. Spreading out a hand of reassurance he negotiated with them. “I’m not a threat. Just let me go and I won’t say a thing about tonight to anyone else” He was sincere and to the point.

Dawn rejected his offer, and made his way to Sehun. Eyes filled with suspicion and distrust, he didn’t hesitate to raise his own sword to Sehun’s neck. When that happened Sehun closed his eyes, slowly falling to his knees and raising his hands in surrender. Gasping in fear, you pushing through the crowd that formed around them, and yelled at Dawn.

“Stop!”

Sehun opened his eyes in bewilderment at your actions, staring at you as if you were crazy. Not long ago was he the person that threatened to hand you over to authorities. Dawn mimicked Sehun’s expression and looked you up and down. You were well acquainted with E. Dawn, occasionally nodding heads to each other when you passed the hallways at night. But he was more so HyunA’s type, all solemn, serious, and virtuous.

“You’re brain must still be marble Y/N! This man needs to be terminated immediately, or else every artifact in this museum will be shipped off to be torn and teared apart by officials!”

The others cheered him, agreeing whole-heartedly with the general of the British. You sighed and glanced from Dawn to Sehun. Putting your best smile and persuasive voice you lowered his sword.

“Why general Dawn, this man had sworn to keep tonights events a secret! Could you not find an ounce of sympathy for him? Plus, where would we put the contents of his decapitated body?” you asked, batting your eyelashes as naturally as you could.

Sehun couldn’t help but smile and quietly scoff at your attempt of persuasion: key word, attempt. You were definitely one of kind.

Dawn began to take in your words, thinking about the consequences of murdering the man. Dawn wasn’t the most hardest to persuade. Glancing back to Sehun, he grabbed his turtleneck up. “What is your name?” he asked roughly.

Sehun eyes flickered from Dawn’s eyes, before staring in yours and saying,

“It’s Sehun. Oh Sehun”

Taking a few moments to think a bit more, the general came to a final conclusion. He released the grip from Sehun’s shirt, and brought him up to stand on his feet. Wrapping a less than comforting arm around his shoulders, and smiling assuringly to the crowd

“My fellow friends of the museum! You must have all been scared for a second. Do not worry!

“Sehun will not tell a single soul about tonight, right Sehun..”

Sehun stayed still, lips curling into a disapproving frown when he glanced downwards to Dawn’s hands on his shoulder.“If I find out that that mouth of yours has blabbered about some nonsense of real life wax figures and artifacts...” Dawn began laughing jokingly before he leaned in to whisper something in his ears. Sehun didn’t falter, never taking his eyes off yours like before.

“What is up with this guy?” you thought, biting your lip in disarray

The crowd agreed on Sehun’s promise, letting him now roam the museum halls without the fear of getting jabbed by a sword. Now walking back to the library, side by side with him, you couldn’t help but feel a mixture of embarrassment and shyness. What were you to say to him? You’re welcome for preventing you from getting decapitated? Sorry for slapping your cheek? You huffed quite louder than you wanted, sehun turning his head to look at your awkward state. He smiled a genuine one.

You had saved him. Showed him mercy even when he wasn’t the nicest to you. He cleared his throat.

“I wanted to say thank you.” he said. You looked up at him flustered. This was your first time speaking to a real person in a very very long time and you didn’t know how to reply.

“And apologize. I wasn’t very nice to you even though you saved me from getting killed.” He huffed. You reached the library doors, turning around to face him. You don’t know if it was the lighting above the doors or the electricity running through your veins, but you can now clearly see and focus on Sehun’s face.

Although his eyes looked down in self-disappointment, you could see his well chiseled jaw, nice lips, and a clean well taken care image. He was in fact, not that bad looking. Quite nice to look at even.

Shaking yourself of anymore weird thoughts, you waved your hands in reassurance. “Oh no! It’s fine! I wasn’t really supposed to be in the library of records anyways, and I shouldn’t have... slapped you...” you quietly admitted, now looking down at your bare feet. Sculptures didn’t normally wear shoes.

sehun admired you. you were beautiful. enchanting, charming and cute. you had stuck up for him, and showed kindness. Plus you were quite funny.

Sehun’s head rolled back, chuckling at your embarassment. After seeing your confused face, he explained. “sorry it’s just... you were pretty convincing back there to the general guy” Rosy cheeks appeared on your honey skin and you jokingly defended yourself. “You were about to be decapitated! What else could I have said to persuade him?”

He looked into your eyes amused, causing your heart beat to speed up.

Why do I feel so warm? Are my cheeks burning? you asked yourself, hand coming up to cool down your face.

“You’re from the ancient greek art gallery, correct?” he suddenly asked. “It’s just that I’ve seen you on my way to my office in the mornings. You’re Y/N, the sculpture that almost everyone that comes to the museum adores” he confessed smiling. This makes you smile, happy and embarrassed to know this.

Sehun doesn’t hesitate to ask again. “Have you been alone for all these years?”

You’re quick to answer. “Gosh, you say that like it’s a curse. For your information, I do have friends of my own that I spend time together with” you explained annoyed.

He smirks at your cute response and strong personality, holding up his hands in defence. “Just asking”

You’re about to say something else when Lisa suddenly appears in front of you, blocking you from sehun with folded arms and a tiny overprotective glare. You wondered how she even knew you two were here...

“So you must be that new museum curator that everyone has been talking about huh?” she says “you” with a bit of a tone, not afraid of showing Sehun her true emotions. Lisa’s million dollar gaze that leaves almost everyone shaking is showing. And that’s when you know the cogs in Lisa’s brain are running and working, jumping to conclusions or wrong ideas.

“Lisa..” you pleaded, tugging on your friends arm to tone it down.

“Yes I am. It’s an honor to be speaking with Mona Lisa herself” Sehun says politely and charmingly, extending a hand for her to shake.

Lisa hates bullshit. So she cuts to the chase.

Ignoring his hand, she then states. “Look, I’m not sure what you’re trying to get from the artifacts of this museum, but you will not get anything from my best friend.” Lisa steps closer, leaning in to warn him. “I know things about every person in this place.” she stares directly into his eyes. “Things that could ruin reputations” she continued softly yet deadly.

Sehun doesn’t waver at all when he is put up against the Mona Lisa. And I gotta give props to him for that. Before I could defend the poor man, Lisa grasps my hand and pulls me away. “Let’s go Y/N”

Lisa may be mentally strong, but she's physically strong as well. Her grip leads me away, looking back at a bewildered Sehun. “Lisa it’s fine, geez” I assure my friend, who is still mindlessly dragging me away. I looked back to sehun and expressed a sorry expression. He smiles and says something back that makes me feel something new inside.

“see you around Y/N”

all while smirking in that black turtle neck, hand waving back at me. God, the things that Oh Sehun is starting to do to me.

Lisa ruins the mood by shouting back

“No she wont!!!”

sometimes i think about how dungeon stuff made yoojin significantly more chill with violence and murder and self mutilation in some cases. and how he comments specifically (i think this might be in a slightly later chapter, possibly unreleased) that people like myeongwoo who don’t have those extra years of immersion in the dungeon culture still reject and avoid violence and killing whenever possible. really makes you think

The day was not easy in any way. Miga was furious with her father, screaming all day, Jaehyun was unsure about that and Sunoh felt the tension and cried as well. When you put him to sleep, you realize that you have no diapers. You go down quickly to the convenient store to quickly buy a few, so you were at least for the next day equipped. It only took a minute for you to be outside. But when you went to your doorway, you see the same Mercedes from Suji again. It was already dark, so you were not sure, but it was weird that the same car was back in the same place. You try to push the thought aside and go back to the apartments.

Jaehyun sat on the couch and looked at his iPhone, but when he saw you, he jumped up immediately.

Honestly, you did not want to talk to him. The day was exhausting, and you were just tired. You would like to take a warm bath and then go to sleep.

You lay off the diapers and go to the bedroom. Jaehyun follows you, as your dog always did. You decide to ignore it and just continue your daily routine. You were used to spending the evening alone the last days anyway. As you search for fresh pajamas in the dresser, you suddenly feel Jaehyun's hands on your shoulders.

"Y/N..." He buries his lips in your neck. He pressed his body tight against yours and you cling to the edge of the dresser.

"Stop it." You whisper, because it was difficult for you to prevail against him today. But he got rougher and his hands moved to your breasts. You feel his hip pressing into your bottom and it all felt wrong for you.

"I love you so much ..." He groaned while distributing kisses on your neck and massaging your breasts. But that was what he always did.

"STOP IT." You suddenly yell at him and try to break out of his grip.

"You always try to solve our argument with sex and we never talk, I'm so tired of it." You turn to him and take a step to the side. He did it so often. If you are arguing, he always tried to seduce you and it often worked because you have a great need for harmony.

Jaehyun looks at you wide-eyed and was stunned for a moment. His tactics did not work anymore, so he did not know what to do.

"Jaehyun, I can’t do it like this anymore. This is not a real relationship we have anymore. Sometimes you dive out of your company, say hello to your kids and then you fuck me. Do you really think that you have your paternal and marital responsibilities with it fulfil?"Jaehyun sighed, ran his hand through his hair and sat down on the bed. He searched for words for a while, but you gave him this space.

"I know ..." He started his sentence and hesitated again. But you keep him thinking.

"I know so much that I fail. I thought I could do it all." His gaze lowers and he looks as if he is ashamed of it. You sigh and sit down to the bed as well. In the corner of his eye you can see that his phone is constantly flashing, but you did not want him to see it. You could already guess who it was.

"When you asked me if we were getting married, I thought we were choosing to have a family together, and we've had a good start with Miga, that's why she loved you so much. You were her daddy and you have her treated as if she were your greatest treasure. It brought us both together, and I thought that's why you wanted a second child, and you wanted so much a boy, and then you get your wanted son, and now Sunoh doesn’t even know you, you even said that yourself lately. And by the way, that you are hardly here anymore, your children barely know you and we hardly have any time for each other, there is Suji. And also with the danger that I'm portrayed as a jealous bitch ... You were so mad at me because I met Doyoung a few days ago, but we've never had a relationship, we've never had sex or anything with each other. I knew you before him and it was always you, Jaehyun. You have always been the person I love. And now you see every day Suji, your ex-girlfriend. You once shared a life with her, you exchanged feelings to each other... fuck Jaehyun...you fucked her too! And you expect me to be tolerant. Do you know what you are expecting from me?" You look at him and your breath was heavy, you had said so little time so much and it was good to have everything spoken out.

"I never really loved Suji, it was a purposeful relationship, and when you came into my life, I left her immediately." Jaehyun looked up for the first time and looks at you.

"Jaehyun, I never asked you to this. You did this even before we were together, you decided that." You reach over your shins and swing a little up and down.

"I don’t feel anything for Suji." He looks deep into your eyes and something in you told you he was right. It was honest and authentic, but that didn’t make things any better.

"Just as I have nothing to do with Doyoung. But you were the person who got super angry." You were desperate, how could you best explain Jaehyun your feelings.

"I know…I'm sorry, I suddenly just saw only red. Y/N, I love you so much You're the most important person in my life and of course our kids." He leaned a little towards you and his body posture was now more open to you.

"Jaehyun, you keep saying you love me, but I don’t know if I can believe you." And then it happened, you collapsed and you could no longer control your feelings. Your sobs grew louder and your tears did not stop running across your face. You love Jaehyun so much, you never wanted to lose him. But you felt like it was happening now. Jaehyun came up to you and hugged you. And you stay like this for a while, until your sobs get less.

"I never thought that you would think I might not love you. Y/N, I love you so much! From the first moment, I knew you were the one. I know I built a lot of crap. But how can I show you my love somehow?" At that moment, you look up. Your crying disappears and you became serious.

"Jaehyun, I never wanted to put you in front of this decision, but I can’t go on as it is now." You stare at him and for a moment there was silence between you two.

"You want me to end the work on my solo album or?" His eyes suddenly became so sad and he did not dare to look you in the eye for a moment. Then you take his hands and look at him.

“Maybe only that you move it to another point in time? Sunoh is still so small, you should see your son grow up, or...?" You stop for a short moment, because you had already thought about it. Jaehyun looked up at you again and waits for your next words.

"You may change company? Isn’t there the company where they also record idols who are in a relationship? Where Hyuna is! I feel that SM allowed our relationship only for marketing purposes, so they get rid of their dark reputation. But in reality, they punish you for starting a family." Jaehyun looked at you with wide eyes. These were options he had never considered before. He had been to SM so long, so he had never considered other ways. He closed his eyes briefly and took a deep breath.

"You know what? I'll think it over." You look at him in surprise. You did not expect so much insight from him. But maybe Miga had opened his eyes.

"For real?" You ask very gently and for the first time you are happy about what Jaehyun said. He nodded and he smiled slightly. But there was another problem.

"And what about Suji? I mean she was standing on our doorstep today and I mean she's still calling you even now." You point to his phone that lit up again. Startled, he picked up the bedside table and scrolled through the lock screen.

"That's really awkward." Then he put his iPhone aside and looked deep into your eyes.

"Maybe one problem solves the other, but I'll see that I'm avoiding her as much as possible. Ok?" Although you were not satisfied with the answer, it was okay for this time. In that moment, you had to trust him. Jaehyun took more of your hands into his hand and his fingers clawed into yours. You watch it for a while and try to process what has been said.

"Jaehyun ..." You breath his name, but you are still looking at your hands.

"It happened a lot and just because we talked does not mean that everything is good." Your gaze slowly rose and you look into his dark eyes. Every time you see his eyes, you no longer think about him. You think of Miga and Sunoh. They have the same shape and colour as Jaehyun and it reminds you that you have so much in common and that you are ultimately there for your children.

"You have to change the situation first, and then I can forgive you. I'm trusting you now, but I don’t need empty promises." Jaehyun had to swallow after your words, but you think he understood now. He was quiet for a few minutes, but then he pulled you over and cuddled you to his chest. He lowers his head, so he just had to whisper for you to hear him.

"I am so sorry." He kissed your hair and pressed you even firmer, as if he would never let you go again. Then he put his head on yours and closed his eyes.

"I love you so much." And for the first time, you could smile again at these words.

"I love you too."

JOURNEY WITH KPOP, I'LL START

My history with kpop started when I was like, 8 and it was, (as of any other 8 year old during that time) because of Exo. But alas, we did not have the luxury of technology and a hand phone back then so I never really got to memorize what they look like, let alone their names. I "liked" them because of my cousin and you know how kids are with people they admire, I wanted my cousin to like me so bad.

Then I didn't see my cousin for a while and generally forgot about Exo because of my short attention span. Then years later, as BTS rose in popularity. I had the displeasure of witnessing a more than unfriendly banter on socials between two different fandoms and I realized how toxic some fandoms are, swore off of kpop. I actually despised it for a while because I hated being a basic bitch that thirsted over some korean guys.

Now I really hate how I was back then.

Then, the day it happened. The year? 2018. My sister introduced me to Seventeen. I reacted negatively to them at first of course, cause I claimed myself an anti towards the general clusterfuck of the kpop industry. But shit the first song she made me listen to just had to be Clap. And the moment my eyes landed on these 13 boys I instantly felt something tug at my heart because 'holy shit how are these guys so pretty?'

I then worked at memorizing their names.

I struggled at first. Obviously.( I couldn't memorize my classmates names and I see them on a daily basis, how the hell am I supposed to know the names of 13 people I've never met before in my life?) The solution was served to me on a silver platter when one day, I stumbled across a seventeen being crackheads video. It was perfect. With these videos, I got to understand these 13 boys better not from an idol perspective, but from a 'they are still humans' one.

For a good few months, I only liked Seventeen. I became a little crazed over them but it was still not crazy enough that I fell in love with them in a romantic sense or anything, I still had a brain mind you. Of course I knew nothing was ever going to happen and I was never going to meet them, least of all marry them. What am I? A sasaeng?

But, it was still only them. I still was aware of the other groups out there. Mostly that one that starts with a B that everyone at my school keeps obsessing over and I frankly find them slightly overrated, but I digress. I started exploring a bit. Expanding my horizon if you will. ONEUS was the next group I found but at the time they still had just debuted and I lost interest in them fairly quickly to my disappointment. (DON'T WORRY THOUGH IM A HARDCORE TO MOON NOW OKAT HWANWOONG THE BADDEZT BITCH) Back to exploring.

Of course if you love Seventeen you would have to know of their husbands, Monsta X. I tell you IM is very good at convincing me. Got7 was next. Fell in love with BamBam. Quickly realized I had a thing for rappers and the second youngest when choosing my bias because, Vernon and Jooheon could not have been a mere coincidence.

Seventeen, MonstaX, Got7, Exo, Kard, Astro, Blackpink, Twice, Red Velvet, Mamamoo, Ateez, TXT, Ikon, Super Junior, Stray Kids. I memorized all of them just for the kicks of it. Quickly became obsessed with all of them fairly quickly too.(Btw mamamoo made me realize I was Bi which was quite an interesting journey.) I even took a liking to the solo artists, like Eric Nam, Kim Samuel, Sunmi all that jazz. Even the actual kpop bands, Onewe, Day6, The Rose, N.flying.

All this, in the span of three years. I still do stay away from the big BTS, I'm just not quite interested in them no matter how much you try to convince me. Nothing against them though, they are quiet nice, I like their music, (but in terms of their faces I onky know what RM looks like) I just really dislike the amount of toxics there are in their fandom.

This year though, I decided to take on the biggest memorizing game of my life, that is the ever growing Neo Culture Technology.

I knew they had many members, I just didn't expect it to be THAT many. I am still struggling though. With Dream mostly. Doesn't mean I don't have problems with the rest. I already have no problem with 127. U is still confusing but I manage. WayV is.....um....

ANYWAYS thats my journey with kpop. I know, this was fucking long but I enjoyed it. I am still at work, memorizing some members and am currently trying to add The Boyz into my never ending list of pretty Korean, Chinese, Japanese, American and Australian men and women. Seventeen are still my number one group though. But stanning them makes me have slightly higher standards for choreos and synchronozations. Oops.

Now, as a multi, I feed off of, (live for essentially), the idols interactions with other groups. Which seriously makes me wish some fandoms would stop fighting cause it is literally helping no one when they fight. Because at the end of the day, these idols work night and day to please us, trained endlessly to get to where they are. And some of them are strapped down by contract to some soul sucking ent. company that sometimes would refuse to give them the tools to further their careers.

By fighting, it wards off potential fans because they think, if the fandom is this bad, what kind of people are the idols? Most of the negativity though is the ones against their idols dating. To which I say, who the fuck cares? Why can't you stand the people you admire be happy? You were almost thirty. You were getting comfortable in your busy life, and your husbands made sure to help with everything everyday. “Children come here!” you called, they all headed over at varying speeds. You handed each their bags, kissing their heads. Right at the back of the line was two and a half year old Yubi with her new leg braces with her favorite cartoons on them.

Yubi finally was ready for kindy - she was slower than kids her age but she got things done properly, in her own time. It was all about knowing her limits and she loved the kids and everything about her daycare.

You were approached one day at work by a young girl named Lee Ji-Eun, she was a sweet young lady with a wristband on, signifying she was a child of a femme. She looked around the shop and dropped in a resume, and you listened to what she had to say. Hiring her on the spot.

Ji-Eun was a diligent hard, worker - she liked to hum and sing while working which was refreshing. You began teaching her all the powerful life lessons you had learned from your mentor, Moon In-shik, and from being Eric’s mentor.

It was a really refreshing thing that helped you develop some perspective on life: what was important versus what we think is important.

Stepping into the house, you helped Seokjin with dinner and set the table. The children had entered from the backyard where they had been watering the garden.

“Mirae, did you feed your brother dirt?”

“No, daddy eoky,” Mirae smiled up at Seokjin hiding her dirt-covered hands behind her back.

“Hoowayway,” Hobi smiled softly at his son, “are you hungry?”

“Daddy bi,” Huimang gave a dirt-covered cheeky grin, Taehyung and

Jimin cackled.

“My poor boy are they picking on you?” Hoseok carried his son to the bathroom in the hopes of washing the dirt out of his teeth.

“Mimi,” you knelt down with an impassive look trying to not laugh at the situation, “did you feed Huimang some dirt?”

“No, Ama.”

“Baby, tell mummy it’s okay, you aren’t in trouble.” You softly gave her a hug “Did he eat the dirt?”

“Yes, Ama,” she pouted and you gave her a big smile.

“Thank you baby for being honest and not lying to mummy. Mummy is so proud, but perhaps next time we don’t feed our brother dirt, it’s not good for people to eat dirt, it’s yucky.”

“Yes Ama, I am sowwy.”

“Come on it’s time for dinner, go race to the bathroom and Daddy Bi will help you wash your hands. Make sure you say sorry to Hui okay baby?” You smiled giving her two big kisses on her cheeks.

“Mum, I got an invitation to a birthday party this weekend, is that okay?” Kyungju said shuffling closer and handing over the birthday invitation.

“Let me see,” you smiled, taking the letter and reading the details. “Oh my boy, you can go, of course who do you want to take you?”

“I want dad to take me, but he might say no.”

“What am I saying no to?” Yoongi took the letter and smiled fondly at the old invitation style. “Have you got your friend a present yet?”

“Not yet,” he seemed to realize and Yoongi laughed at his son’s reaction.

“Tomorrow after school we can go and pick out a present, and I will take you to the party on Saturday.”

The two walked to the large dining room table and you sighed, a big family was exhausting but it filled your heart with undeniable happiness to watch all the children grow up. A small hand tugged on your sleeve, Yubi had come to check on you.

Sweeping her into your arms you walked her to her booster chair and sat down ready for all the drama of a big family dinner. “Jae Eun, don’t put peas on your brother’s plate.”

“So we have been talking as a family,” Namjoon smiled and you raised an eyebrow looking down the other end of the table with a curious expression.

“As a family without me?” you snickered.

“Yes well, it was a topic we wanted to discuss before bringing it up to you.”

“Okay, I am all ears,” you picked up some broccoli and hid it under a piece of meat - trying to convince Yubi to eat her vegetables. She cleverly saw and whined until it was taken away. She was pretty clever for a two and a half-year-old.

You looked around the table watching everyone eat and scooped up some rice while waiting for this news. “We would like to have one last child,” Hoseok smiled brightly. Gasping in shock had you inhaling grains of rice into your trachea. Yoongi lazily raised his hand and patted your back while Jungkook handed you a large glass of water.

The feeling of disbelief filled you for a brief moment - you had in fact told Jimin and Seokjin that you would allow them the joys of having a baby. Even then it seemed outrageous to add any more to the family. You looked around remembering how sad and lonely you had felt when you had first moved into the house and had all these empty rooms and big dreams. You looked at the table spotting the exact space another little one could slip into and the joy and confidence it would bring to your hesitant Jimin.

“Okay, I think another child would be perfect,” unable to prevent yourself from smiling, “but if we do this we should go to a fertility clinic.”

“Of course, wait why are we going to a fertility clinic?” Jimin looked at you confused, you could see the concern in his eyes.

“To make sure everything is working fine for one more baby.”

Some of the children were excited for another sister or brother, and others weren’t bothered. Kyungju was weirdly excited - saying he liked having a big family and being the big brother. Jeongsan was a little worried about having another crying baby in the house again but, you assured him he didn’t have to worry and the parents would deal with the baby.

The clinic was cold. You had to sit in a paper gown while you had ultrasounds, pap smears, and blood tests. All to check your fertility levels, hoping for some positive results that would indicate you would be able to fall pregnant reasonably quickly.

The doctor sat you down after the check-up. “Now everything looks good, but we will have to wait for the results to know for sure what we’re dealing with,” the doctor said with a smile. “Now judging just by average standards, when you turn thirty the success rate is eighty-six percent for couples who try for a whole year.”

You felt a sense of dread. What if this didn’t work out and Jimin never had the chance of conceiving a child of his own? You weren’t really listening to the doctor who was currently prattling on about complication rates and more, you just sat thinking over what you would do if this didn’t happen.

Jimin was driving the van back to the apartment and you told him to pull over. “Is something wrong?”

“What do we do if this doesn’t work?’

“Hey don’t stress, the doctor said the more you worry the harder it is to get pregnant.”

“Just tell me Jimin, what will you do?” you asked, biting your lip.

“If it was meant to be, it will happen,” Jimin touched your cheek, kissing you gently. “It’s not like I’m planning to just up and leave you if we don’t have a baby the first time.”

Jimin’s eyes widened at the way you visibly relaxed body slumping into the seat.

“That’s what you were worried about? That I would leave you, the love of my life, and my family because I couldn’t have my own child? That I would leave all my other children whom I love dearly because the same genetics don’t run through our veins?” He looked upset and sighed “I’m not going anywhere”

It was a fun few months where you and Jimin spent a few weeks together and made love and generally shared some romantic moments with one another. You were trying and enjoying yourselves - until the third negative result from the fertility clinic. Things then became stressful between you and being intimate was less about love and more like a chore for the two of you.

You pulled out the last ovulation tester from your handbag telling yourself that you would have to purchase some more. The two lines mocking you as if they were the two lines you wanted, but they weren’t. One day you would see them on the pregnancy stick and you would make Jimin happy.

“Jimin, it’s time,” you said looking at your phone.

“I don’t want to, can you do it?” he whined and you sighed the two of you finished everything quickly and you laid there and he left to shower. You didn’t want to but you felt like crying.

The days passed and it felt like you might have done it, your back and breasts were aching you just knew this had to be it. You were going to the clinic it was the day your period was supposed to arrive and when you got there, you felt like you needed to pee and as you wiped, you wept. Another failure, it was your period and you hadn’t fallen pregnant again. You walked out dragging Jimin not bothering with your appointment.

The two of you were silent on the way home/ “We can try again, it will happen.”

“And what if it doesn’t, Jimin?” you asked, “When do we decide to give up? When you leave because you are sick of me!”

“Why do you keep thinking I’m going to leave? Is this what you want, me to leave? I thought you had faith in me and trusted me and after everything, we have been through!” He hissed, “You think I’m some bad guy who will just leave?”

“You act like making a baby is a chore.” You frowned, “We don’t cuddle or kiss anymore, do you even love me?”

The car pulled over and Jimin got out, handed you the keys, and looked you in the eye. “The fact that you have to question my feelings really shows me how you see me doesn’t it, love?” the endearment was full of spite. He turned and walked away. You were sobbing standing beside the car gripping the keys and crying. Climbing into the driver’s seat you sobbed with no regard to your surroundings.

It was almost midnight when you returned home. Hearing Yoongi’s swears, grabbing his phone to call the others to say you had returned home. “The children are all in bed, what happened?”

“I want to be alone,” you said walking away from everyone. You sat on the floor of the shower crying to yourself.

Jimin didn’t call, he didn’t come home, no one knew where he was, so Namjoon made some calls and found he was in his family home. You laid in bed distraught, feeling absolutely disgusting. You stopped getting out of bed unless it was necessary; the boys started bringing you meals so you would get some food into your body.

You couldn’t sleep deciding instead to call Jimin repeatedly only to receive his answering machine. You grabbed your coat and began heading to the front door when Jungkook stopped you. “You’re leaving, aren't you Yeobo, what about all of us? You can’t leave.”

“I don’t want you to leave, I want everything back to the way it was,” he sniffed engulfing you in a hug.

“I’m just bringing him home, Kook, I can’t live without him.” The tone of your voice was cold and empty - a testament to how you felt without Jimin. “I need to know he is okay.”

“Let me drive you, I don’t want you to get into an accident.”

“Please, I know you’re worried, but I need to do this myself. I promise you if at any point I am unfit to drive, I will pull over and call you.” You pleaded with Jungkook, “I made this mess and, I have to fix it”

“You call me the moment something feels off.”

“Yes sir,” pushing up onto your tippy toes to press a kiss to his lips, he wrapped you in his arms, squeezing tightly in hopes that nothing goes wrong. He always did have a tendency of worrying too much.

You took the van and began driving. It took six hours and you pulled into the yard watching the sunrise. You walked around the house to Jimin’s window. You knew his sleeping habits and even in winter, his window was open a crack for some fresh air. Lucky for you and the humid summer night, he had indeed slept with the window open fully, enough for you to slide into his room, removing your shoes and jacket, and tiptoeing to his bed.

You placed the keys down on the table, sneaking into his bed, settling against him under the covers. He looked peaceful in the light of the early morning sun. You felt your heart sync with his, the only thing you could think about was him - it was like you were whole again.

“Jimin, I love you,” you whispered against his collarbone. The sense of relief so powerful you felt the tears rain, your fear and anxiety slowly expelling from your body. Jimin’s arms wrapped around you and you pressed your face deeper against his chest so as not to silence your cries.

“I love you too,” he breathed out, the sleep in his voice didn’t hide the clarity behind his words. “Jungkook called the home phone and told us you were coming. Don’t you dare drive alone at night for that long.”

“I had to, I can’t be away from you. I love you, and it hurts so much to not have you with me.” Your words shook with almost the same intensity as your body did against his.

Jimin told you to sleep and prepared you breakfast - waking you slightly later “My love, you must be hungry. The boys told me you haven’t been eating, is that right?”

“I haven’t been hungry,” you hummed and he nodded, his eyes traveling over your figure.

After breakfast he pulled you to lay back in the bed and got you to sleep, telling you he had messaged the boys and would be home after the weekend alone together. When his parents left he was all over you - his lips promising to love you until the end of time and his hands to always hold you safe from harm.

He drove you home, stopping at a few places to get some souvenirs for the children to tell them how much you love them. You stopped at the gas station to relax and refuel, and you got a strange thought. You don’t know what came over you, but you went through the gas station store and pulled out an ovulation stick from your purse.

It had been two weeks since Jimin left, two weeks since you had your dreams crushed by your period. It wasn’t even worth calling it a period; it was so short and barely there. But otherwise your phone was saying you would be ovulating soon. You took the test and saw two strong lines. You thought about telling Jimin, but you didn’t want the disappointment again.

You couldn’t just hide it. “Okay, I will just tell him and he can decide.” You nodded grabbing for the packet when you froze seeing the words pregnancy test, and a realization struck you. You had run out of ovulation tests weeks ago.

You were pregnant.

Sorry if the original ask came across as a slight or mean. Its just funny in a dark way and a bit sad to see 2nd gen kpop slowly fading. I still have bookmarks to old livejournal translations and akp threads that I've been going through to clear out and like over half of them don't even exist anymore. And on twitter its even more depressing with bts/ ateez/loona/twice fans saying stuff like "BB Never really had much of an impact nothing they did was original", "SuJu was just autotuned bs and no one outside of Korea cares about them", "GG were backstabbing btches", "f(x) were failures and amber should k!ll herself" etc. Like all of these groups did do a lot! They mattered and still do matter to people! But they're pretty much all either disbanded, functionally disbanded, inactive, or their lineups are virtually unrecognizable from how they started.

And you're right I don't follow them as closely as before. I mean I follow who I can on twitter as well as a few fansites and I follow yb on insta (i use to follow the others but i got sick of the chanel ads and weird stuff so 😐) but there are days where I won't bother to even check twitter. I know no matter how much fans speculate probably nothing is going to come of it. I mean maybe once Seungris trial is over and they can finally put that shadow behind them and not worry about being asked about some ongoing investigation they'll release like a single of something but I doubt it. Im kinda resigned to Flower Road being the last thing we get from them and tbh not a bad song to end on. But still I am sad.

this is life and how they view 2nd gen is how all these new kids of today will be viewed by the 5th or 6th gen by the time we are all in our 40s with kids who listen to kpop. people reveal more about themselves when they say thing slike this. 2ND gen was during a time the world itself was different. News wasn't auto churned out every 5 secs, news rotated a bit slower, technology wasn't this advanced and the internet's reach only went so far. social media was not a thing and wasn't used my idols as a marketing /career tool, variety shows were more organic and meant something, and the idols back then did have an impact.

there would be no cheer up without gee or the boys and there would be no major bts hit without fantastic baby and BTS did say BB were their idols. There would be no hyuna without lee hyori and so forth.

KPOP was not meant to be cared about at all or recognzied by western media back in the day. they had their own market and the fans finding them made this happen, not the other way around.

sounds like a bunch of childern born after 94-96.

flower road was their last song and they did convey that it was but they did it in a round about way without directly saying it. I took it as their last song together period. They will never get back together, they are done. BTS is whats in now and they were just willing to do certain things bigbang deemed below themselves to do. BTS although I don't care for them as people are perfect for breeding cult like following with their personalities. BB are too adult and too off putting to ever get a massive rabid fanbase like BTS. Hence why we are here now.

a rant no one asked for but you’re getting

recently i’ve been thinking how different things are this year compared to last year. maybe it’s because i was fairly new to kpop & everything was just cheese & sprinkles to me, but honestly a lot has changed in the past year. this time last year nct was my ult group, i had just gotten into got7 & i really only stanned nct, bts, day6, monsta x, & got7 along with a few other groups i wasn’t stanning, just listening to. around this time i didn’t realize how influential & shitty companies could be. the first big event that really shocked me was hyuna & e’dawn getting kicked from cube. & ever since then i feel like every week i’ve heard of something new that a company is doing. when i think about how i first got into nct, i’ve never been so in love with a group. boss was one of the first mvs i watched, obviously that’s where i first saw lucas & immediately fell in love, & then after that the next few months was constantly just an amazing time full of such great content. then i guess when empathy era ended i was kind of just eh, not much going on but i still love these boys so much. but as time went on & i got into exo & stray kids i kind of fell off with nct once i realized how shitty of a company sm is. i thought with the wayv debut i’d be more hyped up but honestly i feel like there’s been nothing but problems with sm & the chinese members that i can’t even enjoy it. & the whole thing with nct dream being a graduating group? it’s honestly just so stupid; obviously i know mark was crazy busy & not being in dream probably took a lot of stress away, but that shit was so sad & i feel like dream will never be the same!!! & if sm keeps adding more & more members... bruh. can’t they try & take care of their current members first? the longer i stan exo the more pissed off i get from how terribly wrong they did them, & honestly i’m starting to get worried sm is going to do the same thing to nct. i feel like they’re so caught up in wanting to make them big they’re forgetting that they’re humans & need to rest & interact with other fucking people & AHHH. maybe i’m just salty that nothing will ever compare to empathy era but i just feel like there’s been so much drama recently. like you’d think sm would learn from exo how to great their chinese members? this whole thing with winwin has been going on since i’ve started stanning, he’s always been pushed to the back, given no lines & no attention yet he’s always so happy. you’d think finally having a chinese subunit would make things better but no, shit has only gotten worse since then. the rest of nct can’t even talk about him anymore? what? is he some sort of outlaw? first he was just kind of dropped out of 127 for wayv, & now the other members have to forget he exists? he really needs to get the hell out of sm, he deserves so much better than the way he’s been treated. i know 127 was on tour, but trying to get ot21 interaction is like trying to pull teeth & i just miss 2018 nct. i felt like there were vlives every day with nct members from one group with another. this is dream’s first comeback for what— a year? 127 has been nonstop for months & i guess nct u just doesn’t exist anymore. i thought wayv was going to give some great content but that didn’t happen, we’ve barely gotten any original songs & i don’t even know what’s happened since take off. it really just sucks because nct truly was my first love yknow? i’ve invested so much time & emotion into getting to know each member but sm has really just ruined it for me, obviously i know jyp has its flaws too but i guess that’s why stray kids has grabbed my attention so much, there’s just constant content outside of promoting & they are such a genuine group. i miss when nct was like that. i feel like sm is trying to make them big but always shut them out at the same time. it’s like they want them to be this flawless group & that’s just not going to happen. maybe when tour is over things will be different but man do i miss the way things used to be.

PSA: on hating Wanna One

If you hate, dislike, or harbor any negative feeling whatsoever regarding Wanna One, I strongly encourage you to read this post.

The way we learn is not through affirming our mentalities and ideas, but instead by questioning and listening to other opinions.

As someone who is strongly multi-fandom, I’m going to keep this as unbiased as possible here. The group doesn’t have much time left, so I’d say give this a go. It won’t take long to read.

(@ wannables: please rt so we can spread the word! this is honestly the best time to be a multifandom wannable because we have so many interactions rn!! and if you’re a wannable that hates other groups, you better read this too)

Lately we’ve been seeing a lot of interactions between Wanna One and other (especially male) idol groups.

So, a lot of us Wannables have become increasingly multi-fandom (more than we were already: nobody begins their run with kpop with a survival show) - but, alas, we have found that a LOT of people from international k-pop fandoms, for some unknown reason, hate Wanna One with a burning passion.

For the relatively small international fandom, the amount of international hate towards Wanna One is overwhelming and hard to deal with.

So, without further ado, let me clear up some of the misconceptions you may have about the group!

Wanna One is friends with or looks up to the GROUPS YOU STAN.

tl;dr they friendly. Wannables know this, so a lot of us are multifandom - after all, not many people got into kpop BECAUSE of Produce 101. A lot of us have been around for a while and stan other groups.

Kang Daniel: Friends with Woozi (SEVENTEEN), Suga (BTS), Zico, Xiumin (EXO), Chanyeol (EXO), Mark (NCT) and many more - let’s be real Kang Daniel can be friends with whoever he wants, role model is Kai (EXO), TWICE Fanboy

Ha Sungwoon: Friends for years with Jimin (BTS), Taemin (SHINee), Kai (EXO) and also many more

Park Jihoon: Is literally in love with V (BTS), has said multiple times he looks up to V and pursued K-Pop because of him, in a gaming group with Jin (BTS), Eunkwang (BtoB), Youngjae (B.A.P), Ken (VIXX) - seen eating out together

Lee Daehwi: BFFs with Somi (Produce 101, JYP Sixteen - the show that formed Twice), remixed Got7 Hard Carry for produce 101 audition, Heize fangirls over him, friends with Bang Chan (Stray Kids), TWICE Fanboy

Ong Seongwoo: Friends with Mark (NCT), Kwangjin (N.Flying), Mina (gugudan), Namjoo (APink), role model is Kai (EXO), worked with Heize

Hwang Minhyun: caught fanboying over Red Velvet on insta, got acknowledged by NELL

Lai Guanlin: friends with Sehun (EXO), is in love with Wooseok (Pentagon), fanboyed over him in front of HyunA herself

Bae Jinyoung: EXO Fanboy, Sehun Fanboy

Park Woojin: Zico Fanboy, knows Zico irl now

Yoon Jisung: probably has friends but he won’t tell us, acknowledged by NELL

Kim Jaehwan: Embarrassed himself in front of Zico

Why do international fans hate Wanna One?

tl;dr Essentially, Wanna One is really popular in Korea - and not internationally - so the international fans hate them, pretty much because they’re successful. Large biased, sh*t reporting media sites like Allkpop and Netizenbuzz recognize this, and spew out bad articles on them with wrong translations and incorrect info because it gets them attention

Produce 101 season 2, the group that formed Wanna One, was hugely popular in Korea, not so much internationally. A large part of this may be because international fans couldn’t vote in the show

After produce 101 finished airing, it was obvious Wanna One would be popular in Korea. However, a lot of international fans didn’t know about this

So, when Wanna One debuted, their popularity was obviously very high. They began playing with the best, with groups that had been around for years

This resulted in the Wanna One members being called ungrateful, achieving fame “too fast”, even though it’s just a different means of getting there.

All of these boys weren’t just lucky. They worked extremely hard in their own way to get to this point, and they are aware that the group isn’t permanent. They know that it’s not going to all be smooth sailing from here - they’ve written songs on the impermanence of this feeling (see: hourglass, forever+1, always, I promise you, hell they have an album called “nothing without you”)

Sungwoon, Minhyun - both in “unsuccessful” groups for years before (Hotshot, Nu’est), had to strip off their “idol” image and perform as “trainees”

Daniel, Jisung - trainees for years under an unknown entertainment label (MMO) that likely wouldn’t have debuted them but instead used them for backup dancers (Daniel was actually going to leave to live in Canada - pd101 was his last resort, Jisung would have had to go to the military)

Jihoon, Jinyoung - have you ever heard of maroo or c9 entertainment? Likely would have debuted into a no name group

Daehwi, Woojin - Daehwi has already gotten so much hate from the start of the show even though he’s already 16, yet remained positive. Woojin rose from the 70s rank up until 6 through hard work alone.

Guanlin - moved from Taiwan by himself at 16 without knowing Korean to pursue his dream, is always showing thanks to fans, trying to speak in both English and Taiwanese as well

Jaehwan - won an entire TV show but nobody paid attention to him. Busked on the streets.

Seongwoo - nobody can deny that he is always thinks of the fans. writes his own freaking poetry for us

All of them always express their thanks to the fans, and even the man of the year, Kang Daniel, is commonly reported by outside sources (producers, tv show directors, other idols, etc) as simple - friendly and humble. tl;dr They’ve all been refuted. This is an unusual situation that happens when a group is popular, and the international fandom isn’t big enough to fight it.

Sites like Allkpop and Netizenbuzz just add fuel to the fire, releasing articles on untrue information, and then not releasing articles quickly or at all on clarifications

Also YMC/Swing sucks and doesn’t protect the boys (literally and figuratively) or the fandom. Instead of explaining situations or taking legal actions, they will either use the boys as a shield for their own mistakes, or force the boys to apologize for things they didn’t do.

Wannables in their natural habitat are fighting YMC (and now Swing entertainment) for something or the other. Right now the big deal is that Swing has banned fansites from taking pictures and Wannables are irate af lemme tell u

Wannables are a toxic fandom.

This is something that gets thrown around a LOT. But in reality, most wannables are very multi-fandom. I will repeat it for a third time: nobody starts liking K-Pop because of a survival show, especially internationally. A lot of us are fans of other groups, so it sucks when our other home fandoms reject us.

The international Wannable community is extremely small (case in point: the company reducing the concert venue sizes by thousands in the US due to tickets not selling). This means our influence is also very small. It’s very unlikely that you have experienced such toxicity from a true Wannable.

On the topic of akgaes: look we don’t like them either, but even though the show was based on voting for your fave, most Wannables aren’t hating on the groupmates and literal friends of their biases. You could help us get rid of this image by promoting ot11!

KWannables are commonly seen supporting other groups, because they are very well aware of the fact that Wanna One is friends with/looks up to/likes other kpop groups.

They don’t want the group to disband. Of course, there’s a part of every Wannable that dreads that day. But, most of us understand that there’s more waiting for them, and we’ll continue to support in the future!

There’s more to say. But life and Wanna One’s run are both too short to spend hating a group of sweet, talented boys. There’s so much toxicity in K-pop. Imagine how your bias would feel if they knew you were attacking their friends or people that look up to them.

Let’s spread positivity, not all this hate.
