The Danger in Romanticizing (Ao3 Link)
"Steve, I'm serious, you might absolutely hate Eddie."
Steve sighs and relaxes against their couch. This is the third time today that Robin has given him this warning. "I'm not going to terrorize him to the point that Chrissy breaks up with you."
Robin raises her eyebrows at him as if he would seriously do it. "You don't know Eddie though. He's... he's someone you would've hated in high school. He's loud, nerdy, dramatic, and he was in a band."
"Robin, he sounds just like you."
Robin's jaw drops. "Take it back."
Steve laughs, "Come on, he sounds great. I don't know why you and Chrissy think we'll hate each other."
"He was bullied in high school by jocks just like you, but he threw it right back at them," Robin says while pacing. "And Eddie to Chrissy is the equivalent of you to me - her platonic soulmate. If you two don't like each other, then I don't know what we'll do."
Steve stands up and grabs Robin by the shoulders, stopping her pacing. "It's going to be fine. If anything, we'll just make polite small talk any time we see each other. As far as I'm concerned, you like him and he's kind to you, so he's good on my list."
Robin nods but she doesn't look convinced.
"I just can't believe that you two waited a month to introduce us."
Robin sighs and walks away from him, brushing off imaginary dust on their couch and chair. "It'll be easier to explain when you meet him."
"When are they supposed to get here again?"
Robin glances at the clock and goes pale. The doorbell rings and Steve feels a sudden rush of nerves. He doesn't know why he's so nervous to meet this man. He really likes Chrissy, and he can't imagine her being best friends with someone he wouldn't like.
Robin takes a deep breath and looks Steve over for a second sighing as if disappointed in something.
"What?"
"Nothing," Robin says quickly and rushes to the front door. She pauses and looks over her shoulder. "Just please be nice."
Steve gives her a thumbs-up and shoves his hands in the pockets of his jeans, waiting for this mystery man to appear.
The door opens and Steve spots Chrissy first, sporting a very nervous smile, and then the door opens all the way to reveal Eddie.
And holy shit. With all the warnings, it never crossed Steve's mind that the man could be so damn hot. He's wearing a black t-shirt with some band on it that Steve doesn't know but the short sleeves show off a few tattoos that make him curious about how many he may be hiding under the rest of his clothes. He tries not to let his eyes wander for too long, so he doesn't dare stare for any longer, glancing back up at Eddie's face in hopes that he hasn’t been caught.
He feels his heart speed up a little bit as he finds Eddie looking him up and down quickly before shooting him a small smile. And god, he has dimples.
Steve smiles back at him and walks to the front door. He bends down to pull Chrissy into a hug first before pulling away to hold a hand out to Eddie. He takes it, and Steve's eyes catch on his rings quickly. He wonders if the whole tough exterior was built to protect him while simultaneously drawing attention. "Hey, I'm Steve."
"Eddie," he says back. And his damn voice goes straight through him.
"Oh shoot, I forgot to grab something from the store before we got here," Chrissy says. "Robin, will you come with me to get it?"
"I can-" Eddie starts to say, but Robin's already grabbing Chrissy's hand and pulling her out the front door.
It closes loudly and Steve winces at the noise.
Eddie turns to him and awkwardly smiles. "So..."
"So," Steve says, noticing the hesitation coming from Eddie. He wonders... "Can I just come out and ask if you've been getting the same warning that we might hate each other?"
"Yes!" Eddie says and lets out a deep breath. "And did they seriously just leave us alone thinking that?"
"They're lucky if we don't kill each other."
"If? Don't you mean 'when?'" Eddie asks with a teasing smile.
Steve laughs loudly and asks, "Do you want a beer or something?"
"God, I would love a beer."
Steve smiles and walks off to the fridge, grabbing two and gesturing Eddie over to the living room. They both sit on the couch a comfortable distance away from each other, and Steve ignores the itch to move closer. "So, I heard that you were in a band."
"And I heard you were a former jock."
Steve snorts and waggles his fingers at him. "Your worst nightmare."
Eddie dramatically leans away from him with a hand over his heart. "Good heavens, you're absolutely repulsive."
Steve finds himself laughing again. He has no idea why Robin thought he would ever hate this guy.
"So," Eddie says with a small smile, "What are you doing now, former jock? Chrissy hasn’t mentioned you being in any of her classes or hanging around the college, so I’m assuming you don’t go there."
Steve runs a hand through his hair and leans back against the couch. "No, college isn’t for me. I'm working in sales at my dad's company. Specifically, as a car salesman." Eddie immediately cringes and Steve sighs, "Trust me. I know. But I'm absolutely horrible at my job. I can never bullshit someone. If they tell me what they're looking for, I'm giving them exactly that and not some overpriced bullshit."
Eddie raises his eyebrows. "But you're still selling cars, so it sounds like you're doing your job."
"Not the way my dad wants me to," Steve complains.
"So, why don't you do something else?" Eddie asks point blank.
Steve's a little taken aback by the bluntness, but he appreciates it. He shrugs. "I got horrible grades in high school to the point that I couldn't get into even the easiest colleges. Working with my dad just seemed like the only option."
"For a while I was thinking about working at the plant with my uncle because high school was terrible for me. I managed to fail my senior year twice before graduating."
"So, what are you doing now?" Steve asks, curious about what other options there are.
Eddie leans back against the couch and takes a long swig of his beer. Steve tries not to focus on the tendons in his neck as he swallows. "I had this moment after I graduated where I suddenly realized that my creative outlets suddenly vanished. My band had to take a break because everyone but Gareth graduated and Jeff and Grant were going to college, and I could no longer run Hellfire Club which got rid of my Dungeons and Dragons outlet. And for some reason, I was struck with this great idea to write a novel."
He shifts, crossing his legs under himself and looking off in the distance with a sad smile. "I just sat down and wrote and wrote. It's like the words were pouring out of me, and I couldn't stop them. God, I barely slept." He pauses as if he's reliving the moment. "Then, I had this extremely rough draft of this book, and I started calling publishers and I went to the first one who would take me. But they read it and told me it would be better as a children's story."
Steve can't help but interject, "That's just one person's opinion though."
Eddie nods and drinks more of his beer. "Yes, but they offered to actually look at it and publish it once I simplified it."
"Did you do it?"
Eddie nods. "Yeah, and I mean, it brought in a decent amount of money that I've been cruising on, but I don't know. There were so many things I wanted to expand on. I was aiming for a whole book series."
Steve turns to him and sits crisscrossed. "So, what's the children's book about?"
Eddie sighs, "You're going to find it so dumb."
"Try me."
Eddie puts his beer down on the coffee table and leans in to Steve. "So, it takes inspiration from Dungeons and Dragons. And it's about this boy who has never felt like he's fit in. For some reason, he's always been disliked by people or shunned for being different. Then, he comes across this monster, one that he's heard terrifying stories about from all these different adventurers. But instead of attacking it, he tries a different approach and finds that he can befriend the monster, and he ends up naming him Dart and they travel together. And for once he doesn't feel alone."
Steve's jaw drops as Eddie continues to describe the story, feeling frozen in place.
"Then, they come across more creatures, and they find they're all evil because they're always under attack. And yes, some are just pure evil, but it doesn't define the whole species. Then, the story gets really cheesy..." Eddie trails off with a groan. "God, this is embarrassing."
Steve finally finds his voice and continues for him, "Then, he's practically hunted by the town who assumes he's evil because he's with all these monsters which they think he must have some sort of dark control over. But then when an even bigger monster comes and threatens to destroy the whole town, they turn to him for help. The boy becomes a hero, but he goes back with the rest of the monsters who always accepted him for who he was."
Eddie's eyes become considerably wider by the end of Steve's narration. "How do you...?"
Steve grabs his hand and pulls him to his room, opens the door, and goes through the small stack of books on the bottom shelf of his nightstand. He pulls out Eddie's book and holds it up. "You're Eddie Munson?"
Eddie nods, totally bewildered.
"Holy shit," Steve says with a big smile, "Dustin loves this book!"
"Dustin?"
"One of the kids I used to babysit, he's in high school now, but he went on about this book for weeks. He loves Dungeons and Dragons, and as soon as I saw it, I bought it for him. He thought it was some kind of joke because it's a children's book, but he read it and developed so many theories about it. He made all his friends buy it because he thinks it could change the whole universe of Dungeons and Dragons. Shit, you’re like a legend to him."
Eddie's mouth just opens and closes. "I- I don't know what to say."
"Could you possibly meet him sometime? No pressure at all, but he'd love you."
"Yeah! Definitely," Eddie says and excitedly bounces a bit. "God, I've never met a fan before."
"I have to warn you that he may be a bit much, and I don't think he would ever leave you alone after this. But it would make his entire year, maybe even his whole life."
Eddie just smiles widely and nods. "Yeah! Yeah, I mean, I can also be a lot, so I'm ready. Just let me know when."
Steve smiles and shakes his head. "This is so cool. And thank you, really, this means the world to me."
"Same here," Eddie says.
The two let the excitement bubble down a bit, but the smiles don't leave their faces. Eddie glances around though and asks, "No offense, but why is your room so..."
"Empty?" Steve fills in for him. Eddie nods. "Well, my parents didn't really let me decorate my room, and I've just never really known what I wanted to do with my own place. So, I've kind of put it on the back burner. Plus, I spend most of my time in Robin's room or in the living room."
Eddie looks around and shakes his head. "My room is covered in shit. It's like I never have enough wall space or floor space for everything I want."
"I can see why Robin and Chrissy thought we wouldn't like each other," Steve says, sitting on his bed covered in a plain blue comforter and patting the empty space next to him.
Eddie follows the cue and sits down. "That all feels like surface-level bullshit."
"I think they're so blinded by their love for each other that they couldn't think beyond it. I know Robin's scared shitless of messing things up."
"God, so is Chrissy. I swore that even if you were the biggest asshole I was going to pretend to like you. Luckily, you're making it easy."
Steve feels the tips of his ears turning red. "Same here."
Eddie smiles at him, and Steve feels so enamored by him that he can't help but ask, "So, what about you?"
"What about me?"
"Are you seeing anyone?" Steve asks, hoping he doesn’t come off as too forward.
Eddie shrugs and looks down at his hands. "Sort of," he says and looks back at Steve. "I'm bisexual, so it's a little harder for me sometimes."
Bisexual. The label that Steve has personally struggled with for years.
"Shit, don't tell me your biphobic."
Steve snaps out of his mini panic and asks, "What?"
"You practically grimaced when I said bisexual. Or are you someone who is only okay with girls being in relationships but not guys?"
"No! No," Steve insists. He takes a deep breath. He's not sure what it is about Eddie that makes him feel so at ease, but he confesses, "It's just that... I think that I'm also bisexual. I don't know though. I know I've had feelings for guys and felt attraction, but I can't picture myself dating a guy. But I feel so horrible admitting that. Maybe I'm just a coward."
Eddie's expression shifts from guarded to sympathetic quickly. "Who can blame you though? The world sometimes just... sucks. But here's something that kind of blew my mind when learning about bisexuality - you can still have preferences. Like, for me, I have a preference towards men, but I can't deny that some girls I've had feelings for. Even Chrissy once upon a time, but I quickly realized how much better things were platonically. You can always have a preference for women; it doesn't have to be half and half."
It's like something finally clicks in Steve's head. He breathes a sigh of relief. "Where have you been all my life?" he asks somewhat dramatically.
Eddie laughs, "Being kept away by Robin and Chrissy."
Steve smiles and traces their conversation back a bit. He lands on a question and asks, "So, how are you sort of dating someone?"
Eddie groans and runs his hands over his face. "There's this guy I've been somewhat hooking up with at this bar. And he's just perfect, you know?"
"Oh no," Steve says, feeling the familiar phrase wash over him.
"What?"
Steve really looks at Eddie, accessing him fully before declaring, "You're a romanticizer."
Eddie scoffs. "How did you arrive at that conclusion?"
"'He's just perfect,'" Steve mimics him. "It's the dead giveaway. Plus, I am too. It gets me in trouble a lot. But I hate seeing it in other people. Like there's this asshole I work with that my dad loves but I absolutely despise. His name is Collin, and he's constantly bragging about all these women he has practically begging at his feet for his attention and shit. Then, at these work parties, Collin's wife will always just go on about how perfect her husband is. God, it kills me because she's so blind to it all. I would tell her, but my dad would kill me if I did anything that potentially would affect Collin working for him."
Steve sighs and clutches Eddie's book closer to his chest, not noticing until now how he's been unconsciously using it as a source of comfort. "Anyways, I just hate seeing people love blindly."
"I've done the same thing," Eddie admits, "But this time it feels different."
"Ten bucks he sucks."
This startles a laugh out of Eddie, but he sticks his hand out. "You're on." They shake on it quickly. "So, what about you? Are you currently romanticizing anyone?"
Steve smiles sadly. "Not at the moment, but feel free to call me out on it when I do."
"Looking forward to it," Eddie says with a smile. "Now tell me, do you have to wear those awful polos to do sales?"
"I do, but I'll have you know that I actually like those awful polos."
Eddie stands up and gasps, "I'm appalled. Please don't tell me you have more than five in your closet."
"I have way more than five. I actually almost wore one today, but I went with my comfort sweater instead."
Eddie walks slowly toward his closet door. "Is this where the source of disaster is?"
Steve raises his eyebrows and nods.
"May I?" Eddie asks with his hand on the knob.
"Prepare yourself."
Eddie takes a dramatic deep breath to gather himself before swinging the door open dramatically and yelling, "It's worse than I thought!"
"You haven't even looked through it!"
"I saw more than two collared shirts," Eddie says in horror. "Steve, I've decided that Robin and Chrissy are absolutely correct, and there's no way I could ever like you."
Steve laughs, but is interrupted by Chrissy and Robin suddenly barging into the room yelling, "What happened?"
Eddie and Steve look at them and laugh.
"We didn't hear you come in," Eddie says.
"We wanted to check the atmosphere as it was, but we heard you say the thing about not liking Steve and we thought..." Chrissy trails off.
Steve finds Robin staring at him while looking worried. "Steve, are you okay?"
Steve frowns. "Yeah, I'm fine, why?"
"You're holding your comfort book."
Steve flushes red and puts his head in his hands.
"His what?" Chrissy and Eddie ask.
"His comfort book. He reads it or makes me read it whenever he's sick, has a bad day, or misses Dustin."
"Robin," Steve groans, embarrassed by his secret being revealed.
The mattress shifts beside him and Steve glances toward the source, finding Eddie amusedly smiling down at him. "So, you're also a fan."
"Wait, what am I missing?" Robin asks.
"Eddie wrote that book," Chrissy answers and crosses her arms, "But he also tells no one about it."
Robin's jaw drops, but Steve ignores it to smile at Eddie. "Aw, so tell me, why me?"
A small blush appears on Eddie's cheeks. "And why me about your..." he trails off, looking nervously toward Chrissy.
Steve glances at Robin who looks at him, gesturing to explain. "I told him I was bisexual."
Robin's jaw drops again. She and Chrissy exchange a look of bewilderment.
Steve throws an arm around Eddie's shoulders and says, "Looks like you two were very wrong."
"And we're very upset that you kept us away from this beautiful friendship for so long."
"Very upset," Steve agrees.
"Oh god, I think we've created a monster," Robin says.
Chrissy just giggles.
“I don’t know, I kind of like the monsters Eddie creates,” Steve comments.
Eddie laughs and Steve looks at him fondly. He doesn’t think that Robin has ever been so wrong about something because there’s no way Steve could ever dislike Eddie.
Part Two :)
Welcome to my new series! :))) I have so many shenanigans planned. And I’m doing a tag list! Just ask me and you’ll be tagged <3

Eyes on me
floyd x gn!reader
Its rlly hard writing this w one hand because i had a bit of a medical emergency last night (in fact i'm in the hospital as i'm typing this) but we survive
so imagine my surprise when i got my baby boy floyd in all his basketball glory (as a consolation from the sevens i assume)
long story short this calls for a floyd fic
(also i use the word stadium a lot here, by that i mean a more small, local stadium and not one of those big NBA league ones)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"I told you, I'm not playing." Floyd crossed his arms and pouted like a little toddler. "Floyd. This is an important match. We have no time for one of your tantrums." Jamil tried reasoning with him, but it was all for naught. It seems like Floyd is inconsolable right now.
The coach was very close to losing it at this point. The match was drawing closer and closer and Floyd's mood was getting worse and worse.
The team could already hear the people coming into the stadium.
"What are you even so sad about?" Ace questioned, getting a bit annoyed with Floyd.
"Little Shrimpy promised to come see me but isn't here yet... " Floyd glanced at the people sitting on the bleachers, searching for your face in the crowd. When he didn't see you, his pout increased.
"... That's why you're refusing to play?" Jamil couldn't believe his ears. Neither could anyone else in the club right now. Is this dude really 17 years old? He seems like a bit of an overgrown 5 year old right now.
Well, the coach knew he was taking a risk when placing Floyd on the team seeing as things like this are very likely to happen. All he can do now is hope you actually show up so he won't have one potentially amazing player less.
.
"Oh crap, Floyd's match! I almost forgot!" You quickly got up, startling your classmates. You had to stay with some of them to work on a group project professor Crewel gave you. "Anyone wanna come watch basketball with me?"
A few of your classmates agreed to go while others said they had plans to get to.
And so you went.
"Can't believe you forgot it, idiot." Grim scolded you. "Oh yeah? and who was the one sleeping away in my lap while we had to do all the work?" you shot back and he grumbled something under his breath as a response.
The two classmates going with you huffed in amusement at your reply.
By now, you were already at the entrance to the stadium. You saw Floyd play before at practice and you know how good he can get when he's fired up. But you also know how he can be when the opposite is true.
You just hope he's in a good mood right now. If he isn't, you'll just cheer for him until he is.
You sat down on the bleachers, chatting with your classmates about the project as you waited for the match to start.
.
"Hey, isn't that the Prefect right the-ack!" Ace got pushed away by Floyd who's eyes immediately scanned the bleachers again. When he saw you, his eyes lit up and a wide smile spread across his face.
"Shrimpy is here!~" the sudden change in mood surprised even the coach. Well, he supposes the issue is solved now.
His eyes darkened, however, when he saw you laughing with your classmates. You're here for him, not some rando dudes from your class.
Suddenly, he feels determined to play so well you won't take your eyes off him for even a second. He'll make sure of it.
"Hey. We're going to beat the other team so hard they cry. Got it?" he suggested with a horrifying expression on his face. The entire team felt too afraid to do anything but nod in agreement.
That's the second mood change he had in a matter of 30 seconds. Now the entire team is just generally concerned for him.
As the NRC team walked out, you smiled at Floyd and waved to him, Grim raising his little paw to wave too. He smiled back at you widely, flailing his arms around like an excited child at you. When he looked away, however, his expression darkened once more.
Better keep your eyes on him the whole time or someone from the other team might not make it out unscathed.

Pearl and Gem glance at each other. Then, as one, they glance back at Tango, who is, evidently, not Tango.
“Do we have an amnesiacold on our hands?” Gem asks.
“Maybe,” says Pearl, glancing back at Tango again. “Tango, buddy, you feeling alright?”
“I—” Tango opens his mouth. Closes it again. “I mean, I’m a little under the weather, to tell you the truth—I ate a South African sausage and it disagreed with me.”
Pearl hums. “And it’s messed with your memory a bit, right?”
“Yes! I mean, no—I mean, how did you—?”
“Would you say that you have a bit of an amnesiacold, Tango?” asks Gem.
“Amnesiacold?”
“You know. Amnesiacold!” Gem says. “When you get sick and forget everything and feel like somebody else?”
“Ah.” Tango pulls himself to shore. Frowns. “It’s more of an amnesia-food-poisoning, if I’m honest.”
Pearl winces. “Your poor digestive system.”
“It’s not very nice Pearl, I’ll tell you that much,” Tango says, voice low, one hand pressed against his stomach as he pulls a face.
“Okay, that’s enough, I don’t need to hear about your gut issues,” Gem interrupts. “But—you have an amnesiacold! You know, I was an amnesiacold last season.”
“You mean, you had an amnesiacold?”
“No, I was one.” Gem winks. “Like—Tango has an amnesiacold. But you? You’re the amnesiacold. You know?”
Tango’s shoulders hike up with discomfort. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m Tango. And I think you guys should—should skadoodle somewhere else. Should bother-someone-else-ificate. Begone.”
“I had an amnesiacold last season, you know,” Pearl says. “Gem was one. You can tell us, buddy, we’re not gonna tell anyone.”
“Promise,” Gem says with a nod. “This is a safe space! You don’t have to pretend to be someone you’re not with us.”
Tango stares at them for a long, long moment, then sags, face falling. He looks exhausted, suddenly, and Pearl feels a rush of sympathy. It can’t be easy, being thrown into the game halfway through, with no context for anything.
“It’s been rough, dudes,” Tango says, voice cracking. “It’s been really really rough. I forgot how hard it was to get anything done on this server! There’s so much chaos, and—”
Wait.
“Ren?”
Not-Tango grins. “In the flesh,” he says with a bow of his head. “Or… not my flesh, exactly.”
“Ren?” Gem asks, tilting her head in confusion.
“Oh, that’s right, you’ve never met…”
Gem and Ren peer at each other for a moment. “You do look familiar,” Ren says eventually.
“Yeah,” Gem agrees. “I mean, obviously you look familiar—you look like Tango!—but… yeah.”
They stare at each other for a moment more.
“Maybe we met in a dream?” Ren says at last.
Gem nods. “Sure. Makes as much sense as anything else.”
Pearl glances between them, rocking awkwardly back on her heels. She clears her throat, drawing their attentions back to her. “Welcome back, buddy,” she says to Ren. “Good to see you again.”
“I wish that I could say the same,” Ren says morosely. “I thought I was—I was done, Pearl.” Now that she knows it's Ren, she can hear his cadence in Tango’s voice, voice dropping rough and low with drama as he bows his head. “I was done. No more games, not for the ol’ diggity dog. And now… Here I am!” He laughs a little, stretching out his arms to indicate the server at large. “In a body that’s not mine, in a world I’ve never seen, in a game I do not understand.”
“Oh, Ren…” Pearl frowns. She doesn’t know what to say.
Gem jumps in. “Hey, it’s okay! It’s just one session, you know? You can do one session!”
“I suppose I must.” Ren looks up at them, jaw tightening. “If I am here—I suppose I must.”
“I’d never been in any of these games before I was Cleo for a bit last season,” Gem says. “So you have an advantage there! And, hey—maybe you can come back next season, and we can meet for real?”
Ren shifts uncomfortably. There’s something heavy hanging about him, something Pearl can’t quite understand. She remembers the last time she’d seen him, skull caved in from the dripstone spike dropped on his head. She remembers her own amnesiacold, the exhaustion that had dragged at her before it had settled in, the memories that had plagued her and just wouldn’t go away. And she wonders—
Just how exhausted would you have to be that your body would have to leave as well as the rest of your self?
Just how sick would you have to be before you didn’t want to come back?
Still, Ren steadies himself. Quirks Tango’s mouth into a smile. “Maybe,” he says, meeting Gem’s gaze. “That would be nice, to meet for real.”

You wake the next day to an insistent knocking sound, a fist pounding against the front door of their apartment. Yunho nearly falls out of bed at the noise, shaking his head hard to banish the cobwebs, but Mingi is on his feet in seconds.
“What’s going on?” You murmur, rubbing a hand over your face and stretching your tired limbs.
“I got it,” Mingi shakes his head at you, “just stay with Yunho,”
A chill runs over your arms, and with no blankets to drag up over you, you push yourself off the bed and grab for Mingi’s hoodie, pulling it over your head quickly and relaxing into its warmth.
“Coming!” Mingi calls gruffly towards the door, and the knocking stops immediately.
You glance at Yunho and he shrugs, but his eyes quickly flick to the door, able to see all the way down the hall from this vantage point and he waits.
You listen as Mingi turns over the deadbolt and unlocks the chain, swinging the door open, “Oh,” he says, “hyung,”
“Is y/n here?” Seonghwa’s voice sounds a little strained, like he ran up three flights of stairs.
Yunho looks like he’s about to say something, but you smooth your hair back behind your ears and head down the hall for the door.
“Yeah, she’s,” Mingi says, but you move around his side and Seonghwa’s eyes shift to you.
“There you are,” Seonghwa sighs, looking instantly relieved.
“Was I supposed to be somewhere?” Your eyebrows draw together, mind still a little fuzzy with sleep.
Mingi takes a step away, and Seonghwa pushes across the threshold, “You haven’t been answering your phone at all, and when you didn’t show up this morning to practice… I just got worried,”
“Oh, Hwa,” You soften, “I’m fine,”
He hesitates, eyes flicking over you, and then he pulls you into his arms, sighing heavily, “Sorry, of course you are,”
You tuck your face into his warm chest, squeezing him tight, “I’m good, I haven’t looked at my phone though, I was a little out of it last night,”
“Did you just get up?” He pulls back and looks you over.
“Mhm,”
“It’s one o’clock,” He says softly, “you can see why I was worried,”
“It’s one?” You’re shocked at the time, that you were able to sleep for almost twelve hours and so were they, despite your brief and terrifying wake up in the middle.
Seonghwa smiles, “Yeah, but it’s fine, as long as you’re okay,”
There are so many pieces to what happened yesterday you still don’t have answers to, and you’re not sure if now is the right time, but with Seonghwa in front of you things finally feel better. He’s been there for you so much recently that it feels like seeing him now is the clear missing piece to you finally releasing the last bit of tension from last night.
A beat stretches between you and you nod.
Yunho clears his throat softly from next to you both, “I’ll put some coffee on,”
You almost forgot they were right by your side, and as Yunho makes his way to the kitchen, Mingi exhales with another rough noise.
“Hey,” Seonghwa finally properly greets him, looking away from your face, “sorry, how are you holding up?”
“Just woke up,” Mingi shrugs, “not sure yet,”
Seonghwa’s eyes flick to you briefly as he registers that you’ve all just gotten up for the day.
“Mingi,” Yunho calls from the kitchen, “can you help me with something?”
“With what?” Mingi doesn’t draw his eyes away from either of you.
“Coffee,” Yunho replies.
Mingi’s brow furrows and he doesn’t move but turns his head towards the kitchen, “What help do you need with the coffee?”
“Just come here,” Yunho sounds frustrated and you cover your mouth to keep from laughing.
“Fine,” Mingi grumbles, throwing one last look back at Seonghwa before heading towards the kitchen.
With the room clear, you look back to Seonghwa, “Are you okay?”
“Am I?” He looks confused.
“I don’t really know what happened yesterday,” You explain, “I barely saw you after everything, but Yunho said you and San took care of things, and I saw blood,”
“Mm,” He nods, but doesn’t offer anything else.
“What does that mean?” You press him.
His eyes flick away and he shrugs, “It means San and I took care of it until the cops came.”
“Hwa,” You shake your head.
“Look,” He bites his lip and runs a hand through his dark hair, “can we sit down for a minute? I need to talk to you,”
“Is everything okay?”
“I’m not sure,” He admits, “let’s just… can we sit?”
“Yeah,” You step back, gesturing for him to come further into the apartment and he takes a seat on one side of the sectional, gingerly on the edge with his hands clasped in front of him. Your eyes zero in on the bandages immediately.
“Seonghwa!” You reach for him immediately, taking his hands in yours.
“Oh,” He takes his hands back and flexes them, “I’m fine, see?”
“What happened?” Your voice raises a little, and Mingi appears in the doorway of the kitchen, one eyebrow raised.
“This is what I wanted to talk to you about,” He sighs.
“Your hands?”
“Yeah,” Seonghwa pulls them further away from you and shakes his head, “I talked to the police last night and there’s something you need to know,”
“The police?” You straighten up.
“Mhm,” Seonghwa’s hand rubs over the back of his damaged knuckles, “they interviewed all of us, I think,”
“I talked to them at the hospital,” You nod.
“Were they alright with you?” Seonghwa asks, eyes flicking to yours.
“Mostly,” You nod, “some of their questions were a little,” you search for the right word.
“Pointed?” Seonghwa fills in.
“Exactly,” You cross your arms unconsciously, remembering the way the detective talked to you, “they kept wanting to know about my cycle,”
“They asked you that?” Seonghwa’s voice spikes a little.
You nod, “I think it was pretty clear what they were trying to ask considering he said he was rutting,”
Seonghwa’s jaw tightens as he exhales, “I’m so sorry,”
“It’s alright,” You know it isn’t, but there isn’t anything to be done, “they took my blood, they’ll see I’m not even in pre-heat, it was nothing like that,”
“We know that,” Seonghwa reaches across to brush his hand over yours, “you know that right?”
“Of course I do,”
“And even if you had been,” His hand flexes around yours, tightening and relaxing.
“I know,” You assure him again, communicating as much as you can with a look.
“Okay,” He sighs, “okay, good.”
He pulls his hand back, and suddenly his face looks familiar. His expression so like that day before the tour in the faraway cafe. He’s working himself up to telling you something, and you can see that he’s scared.
“Seonghwa, what is it?” You push a little, “You can tell me anything,”
He presses his lips together before he says, “Right, so the police,”
Mingi and Yunho choose this moment to file back into the room, both carrying two coffees each and Mingi sets yours down in front of you made up just how you like it before Yunho offers Seonghwa a cup. He accepts it, but lets it sit on the coffee table untouched while they get settled on the opposite side of the couch.
“Just tell me,” You nod, bracing yourself a little.
Seonghwa looks down, eyes on the floor while he gathers himself and his thoughts and then finally says, “I might have hurt your case,”
“My case?” The words don’t quite make sense.
“Going after him like I did,” He says simply, eyes still downcast.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” You shift closer to him on the couch, reaching out but not quite touching him, “what happened?”
“You didn’t tell her?” Seonghwa looks up but past you, straight at Yunho.
“What?” You look between them, nothing making sense at all.
“You weren’t here,” Yunho insists, “she was upset last night, I was going to tell her this morning.”
“Can you both stop talking around me and just say it?” Your voice takes a higher pitch, “I’m not a child.”
“I’m sorry,” Seonghwa shakes his head, reaching for you and taking your hands folded in his own, “let me start over,”
“Please,”
“Minseok,” He says, the name a little uncomfortable in his mouth, “We got him into the hall and when I realized what happened, what he almost did to you,” he flexes his hand again and shakes his head, “I lost it a little,”
“Hwa,” You murmur.
“The police said because he had already been detained and it was no longer in defense or de-escalation it could hurt your ability to have him fully charged,” Seonghwa says in a breath, rubbing a hand over his eyes, “it’ll be possible for him to press his own charges if he wants, and I have reason to believe he’s getting those charges filed today,”
“That’s insane,” You straighten up, “You were just helping me,”
“No,” Seonghwa finally meets your eyes, “they were helping. I was… kicking the shit out of an defenseless man,”
You open your mouth to say something but Mingi cuts in easily, “That’s not what I saw.”
“What?” Seonghwa’s head snaps to the side.
Mingi shrugs, “If you hurt your case then so did I, we all probably did, but if he knows what’s good for him he’ll take the firing on the chin and move on without dragging this to court.”
“You fired him?” Your eyebrows raise.
Yunho’s brows furrow, “Of course he’s fired, he’s not getting within a mile of you ever again,”
Relief floods you and you nod, shifting your eyes back to Seonghwa, “How do you know he’s filing?”
“Woo went to school with someone who works at the hospital in the emergency unit,” Seonghwa explains, “he called this morning just to find out Minseok’s discharge status so we knew when he’d be out,”
That’s a thought that hasn’t occurred to you yet, and you take a steadying breath.
“He’s going to be in for a little while,” Seonghwa assures you, “a week or two at least, but he did tell us that there were police there interviewing him. His family was also present, and it seems as though they have money and more to say,”
“Entitled little prick,” Mingi curses.
Seonghwa’s lip quirks up in a brief smile, but then he nods, “There’s not a scratch on any of us except him,” he points out, “it doesn’t look good,”
You shift closer, “What did you do to him?”
“I don’t,” He shakes his head, eyes softening, “I just lost it, San pulled me off him,”
“Seonghwa,” You murmur.
“He’s got broken ribs,” Seonghwa swallows hard, “and I think I broke his jaw,”
“Jesus,” You breathe.
“I wish I had,” Yunho says calmly, “he deserved it.”
“Not if he can get away with what he did,” Seonghwa returns his hands to yours, “I’m so sorry,”
“Hwa,” You shake your head, moving even closer on the sofa until you’re side to side, knees touching, “you have nothing to apologize for. I’m so grateful you were there,”
His eyes go a little watery, and he cups your cheek, “When I think about the fact that I almost left early,”
“When have you ever left early?” You give him a soft smile.
“Seriously,” He shakes his head and leans closer, “I keep thinking about what would have happened if you were there alone, I keep seeing it,”
“Stop, Hwa, please,” You squeeze his hand, “I’m okay, you were all still there,”
“Yeah,” He breathes, but you can hear the tenor of lingering fear in his voice. He leans forward, pressing his lips to your forehead and exhaling over your skin.
You let your eyes slip closed, and for a brief moment you forget about the other two men in the room with you, watching over the moment of intimacy with their breath caught in their chests.
Seonghwa leans back a moment later, eyes clear now, and finally looks you over. He pushes your hair to the side and makes a face at the sight of your swollen, bruised gland, “What’s this?”
“Nothing,” You shake your head, telling him clearly with your eyes not to pry.
“Don’t tell me that’s nothing,” He says softly.
“I promise,” You squeeze his hand, “I’m okay,”
He swallows and then nods once before jerking his head towards Mingi and Yunho, “Did they take care of you okay?”
“Yes, Seonghwa,” You sigh.
You look to them, expecting to see some kind of comedic expression, or bristling annoyance at Seonghwa’s insistent checking, but that’s not what you see at all. Yunho looks like all the air has been let out of him, his eyes soft and unfocused. Mingi’s doing his best to seem relaxed and casual, but you know him well enough to know that he’s anything but, his tightly clenched hands telling you everything.
“Hmm,” Seonghwa’s soft hum draws your eyes back to his, “and is there anything you need?”
“I don’t know,” You confess, “is it silly to say I’m still tired?”
“No,” Seonghwa brushes his hand over your hair again, tucking your hair back to where it was a moment ago, “nothing you wanted would be silly right now.”
“Is everyone else alright?” You murmur.
“They are,” He squeezes your hand, “you just focus on you.”
You manage a nod, and you want to look back to Yunho and Mingi and see why they’re so silent, but Seonghwa continues.
“You don’t have to be okay,” Seonghwa says softly, “but are you?”
You know what he’s asking with his eyes, if being here with them is too much, if you’re able to get what you need in the midst of all the emotional circles you had been dealing with before the studio last night. You love him for it, but you nod, “I am, honestly,”
“Then if you’re okay,” Seonghwa smiles a little, “I’ll leave you be,”
“I’m okay,” You glance back to Yunho and Mingi, and their eyes are holding on to anything but you and Seonghwa.
“I just needed to see you and make sure, and to talk to you about things,” Seonghwa explains, pushing himself up to stand, “I don’t know what will happen, but I’ll do whatever I can to make sure it doesn’t affect you,”
You stand with him and shake your head again, “Whatever happens with Minseok, we’ll deal with it together. Don’t put that on yourself, please,”
He nods, and then you pull him into a hug, a quick squeeze before he steps away.
“That’s it?” Mingi’s voice is incredulous as he stands up, “You’re leaving her?”
You turn, fully confused by the sudden bubbling anger in Mingi, “What?”
“I mean,” Seonghwa looks just as confused, “it seems like you’ve got things covered?”
“Covered?” Mingi’s voice tightens.
“Mingi,” Yunho tugs at his friend’s arm, “sit down,”
“You’re seriously going?” Mingi repeats.
The tension in the room is bizarre, the comforting moment you had with your friend completely undercut and you keep looking to Yunho for clarity but he just won’t look you in the eye, his eyes are set on Mingi.
“I’m seriously confused,” Seonghwa looks between you and them, “y/n?”
Your mouth is open, nothing really making sense for how quick to anger Mingi is in this moment, especially now, and all you can do is look to Mingi for answers, but you find little in his fierce gaze.
“I’m just saying,” Mingi’s jaw sets hard, “if something like this happened to my girlfriend I wouldn’t be so quick for the door,”
“My what?” Seonghwa glances down at you.
The words don’t make sense, “I have no idea,” you manage, “what are you talking about?”
“What are you talking about?” Mingi takes a half step back, eyes flicking between you.
There’s a long beat of silence, and finally, finally, someone speaks.
“You’re not together,” Yunho says, not a question but a realization.
Pins slot into place, every little moment over the past few months coming into perfect clarity. You answer him anyways, “No, we’re not,”
“Were you?” He clarifies.
“Not like that,” You shake your head.
“Oh,” Mingi’s hands relax, talking a half step backwards as the realization hits him.
“You thought we were dating?” Seonghwa finally says, gesturing between the two of you.
“Well,” Mingi clears his throat, “yeah,”
“We’re not,” You confirm again and Yunho grins. Your stomach flips.
“I really thought…” Yunho trails off, shaking his head.
“Why would I have come home with you last night if he and I are together?” You trail off.
“Yesterday was insane,” Mingi reasons, “I would have taken you anywhere you wanted to go if it made you feel better, I wasn’t questioning it,”
“Oh,” You soften at that.
“But I guess I was wrong,” Mingi looks a little sheepish when he looks at Seonghwa.
“Yeah,” Seonghwa squeezes your hand and then drops it, “y/n is… great, wonderful even, but it was never like that. I’m in love with someone else.”
Your heart twists, knowing exactly what he means.
“Fuck,” Mingi rubs the back of his neck, “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to act like such an ass,”
“No, no,” Seonghwa waves him off, “I get it,”
“But,” Yunho looks up, and his eyes on yours freezes you to the spot, “I thought you said you had something to tell us?”
“And you thought it was that I’m dating Seonghwa?”
“I thought you were trying to let us down easy,” He blurts out.
“No, that wasn’t…” You can’t fight the smile off your face now, “that’s not it at all,”
His lips part, realization filling his features, “God, we’re idiots,”
“Kind of,”
“I should have just asked you on tour,” Mingi all but blushes and it’s quite possibly the first time you’ve ever seen him be so embarrassed.
The moment is so absurd, so tangibly comical after last night and you can’t help but laugh again, “You thought I was that excited to see you after three months just to tell you that I’m dating one of your best friends?”
“When you say it like that,” Yunho trails off.
“Wow,” You clap a hand over your lips, “Woo is going to have a field day,”
Seonghwa snorts softly, but stays quiet.
“So if you’re not together, and weren’t together,” Mingi starts, lights going off in his brain as he rewrites all the things he thought he knew, his eyes find yours and hold steady.
Butterflies start in your stomach, you feel it in the air like something’s about to shift under your feet and you should be bracing yourself. This is not the moment you imagined, not in the slightest, but there’s something steady about the way he’s looking at you and you want to reach out and grab onto it.
Seonghwa softly clears his throat and takes a step towards the door, “I should go,” he says, “you look like you need some space,”
You do, but you spin quick and catch his hand as he turns, “Wait, Hwa,”
He pauses, glancing up over your shoulder at them before looking down to you again.
“I have to thank you before you go,” You squeeze his hand, “I’m… I don’t know what else to say, but I,”
“Come here,” Seonghwa tucks you into his chest, hugging you close, “I’d do it again in a minute,”
“I know,”
“We may not be dating,” He says, and you can practically see the smile on his mouth, “but you’re one of my best friends and I’d do anything for you, okay?”
“Okay,” You squeeze him tighter.
He sighs, letting you go and pressing a quick, chaste kiss to your cheek, “Call me if you need me, okay?”
“I will,” You nod.
“And text Wooyoung back,” He says, almost an afterthought, “he was flipping out this morning,”
“Tell him I’m fine,” You say, “I’ll message him later,”
“I’m here for anything,” He reiterates, “and I’ll let everyone know you’re doing alright,”
“Thank you, Seonghwa, really,”
He nods, “I’ll let myself out,” he says quietly, and then he’s gone, the door clicking shut behind him.
You don’t quite know what’s about to happen when you turn around but the butterflies in your stomach triple. Silence stretches between the three of you, and you know that the conversation you wanted carefully planned is happening now whether you’re emotionally prepared for it or not, no matter what happened yesterday.
You turn back to them and the words slip out as you process everything out loud, “I don’t understand why you wouldn’t just ask me,”
“You asked us not to,” Yunho says quietly, “and after what happened before…”
“Yun,” You start, looking between them, but he presses forwards.
“We didn’t listen to you then,” Yunho says, “I wasn’t going to fuck this up again,”
Mingi’s quiet, his eyes downcast as he thinks, and your stomach turns into anxious knots.
“Maybe this isn’t the time,” You murmur, and you’re about to say more but Mingi cuts you off.
“No, please,” Mingi’s head snaps up, “not this time, this time we need to talk.”
“Okay,” You breathe.
“I should have said it in the letter,” Mingi clears his throat and finally holds your gaze for longer than a second, “maybe that would have made this easier, but, I’ll say it now.”
“Mingi,”
“I love you,” He says, letting the words live in the space between you for just a moment before he continues, “I’ve loved you for a long time. You can tell me no, you can go if you want to, but we’ve spent so long not saying anything to each other, so I have to say this.”
“You love me,” Your stomach flutters, heart pounding in your chest.
“Yes,” Mingi nods, no hesitation or wavering, matter of fact, one of the things you’ve always loved about him.
The air feels a little thinner in the room, like the altitude has changed, and you swallow thickly. You need to get your emotions under control, but Yunho’s stayed so quiet you don’t know what to think. When you glance at him, your chest aches. He’s watching you carefully, and you can see the nervous energy in him, the way his hands fidget and clench.
“Yunho,” You manage.
“You know how I feel,” He says, “by now… I know you know,”
“No,” You can’t accept it and you shake your head, “tell me for real.”
Yunho drags a hand over his face and back through his hair, and then finally he meets your eyes again, “I’m,” his voice wavers slightly, “sweetheart, I’m still so in love with you.”
“Still?” You hitch on the word.
“It’s been a long time for me too,” He nods.
You take in their words, stepping back, pacing a little as you process. You don’t really know where you’re going, you just need to move, to take some of the pressure of their eyes off, and you take deep breaths as you do. You can feel their tension, their fear that you’ll bolt again but strangely this time you don’t need to run. You just need a minute.
“And yesterday,” You slow to a stop from your position behind their couch, “this isn’t some… reaction to what Minseok did, it’s not,”
“When I wrote you that letter,” Mingi interrupts your anxieties, “we hadn’t seen each other in weeks. I could have told you I loved you then, this has nothing to do with him. This has to do with us, the three of us.”
Your mind flicks back to your confession to Wooyoung months ago, the way he held you as you cried buckets of tears over them. The sickening realization that your heat with them did mean something, and you had been fighting your own heart ever since. You want to love them now so badly it tugs at your insides, flooding your eyes again with tears.
“Don’t cry,” Yunho’s on his feet the minute he sees your eyes clouding over, “the last thing we want to do is make you cry after everything,”
“It’s fine,” You manage, hastily wiping tears away before they have chance to really wet your cheeks, “it’s just been a very long two days,”
“We’ll talk about this later,” Yunho reaches for you, “come here,”
You take a step back from him and shake your head, swallowing back your emotions and trying to figure out how in the world you’re going to articulate this.
He stops dead, and you watch Mingi’s face fall.
“Our dinner,” You start off, “I had a lot I wanted to say to you both, and after yesterday, I don’t know my head is all twisted up, I’m not going to do this right,”
“Maybe you’re right, we don’t have to do this now,” Mingi shakes his head, and you realize now that he thinks you’re rejecting them, once and for all.
“Mingi, stop,” You cut him off, “I need you to let me get this out,”
He stays silent.
“We’ve been dealing with this for so long,” You start, “there’s been a lot of things said, and I guess unsaid too,”
Yunho nods but keeps any thoughts to himself while you parse through your words.
“I tried for a really long time to move on,” You manage, “and so much has happened but yesterday was,” you shake your head, trying to keep the strain out of your voice and get this out, “you know what it was. But you were both there for me and you took care of me, and I don’t have the words to thank you for something like that.”
“You don’t,” Yunho starts but you shake your head and hold out a hand to stop his words.
You take a deep breath, and then you take the leap, “I was going to apologize to you. This thing between us… I broke it too. I was angry that night at the studio, and I wish I could take so much of it back. I was hurt, but I said things that I’m so, so sorry for.”
“I was planning on telling you that first,” You continue, “and then I was planning on telling you that while you were gone, I thought about you everyday. I thought about us and what you mean to me, about what I wanted, and I need to tell you first that I lied. That weekend, my heat, it meant more to me than I ever understood. It wasn’t just sex, and I’m sorry I said it, I’m sorry for so much,”
“y/n,” Yunho says softly, but you shake your head.
“I’m,” The words bubble up and lodge right in your throat. It should be easy, you love them. They said it first, it should roll right off your tongue, but it just doesn’t. You take a tight, hard swallow and try again, “I don’t, what I’m trying to say is that,”
“Hey, hey,” Mingi’s close the minute he sees you floundering, cupping your cheeks and hushing your panicked little breaths, “you don’t have to say anything, especially not right now.”
“But,” Your throat feels raw, “but I don’t want,”
“Shh, shh,” He shakes his head, smoothing his thumb across your cheekbone, “slow down, go easy,”
It all feels like it’s opening inside you, the tense knot from yesterday, your feelings for them wrapped up inside it, the way your omega keeps clinging to them as yours. The way you almost lost them. Tears spill over your cheeks again and you choke out a weak cry, “I’m sorry,”
Mingi shifts forwards, scooping you up in his arms to cradle you against his chest just like yesterday, “You have nothing to be sorry for, nothing at all.”
“I want to tell you,” You confess into his shoulder, “I have to tell you,”
“Baby, please,” Mingi soothes, “just take a deep breath,”
“Mingi,” Yunho murmurs low, having moved closer to the two of you, “let’s sit, come here,”
You keep your head pressed against his skin, your body feeling ragged and exhausted, memories from yesterday flooding up and the scent of your alphas making you dizzy, and you think if you cry any more it might make you sick but you just don’t know how to stop.
Mingi moves with you, settling down onto the couch and you can hear Yunho shifting around the room, but you don’t know what he’s doing until a familiar soft blanket wraps around your body.
“Breathe, baby,” Mingi prompts you again, “we’re right here.”
“Yunho?” You blink hard as you lift your head from Mingi’s neck, reaching to search for him.
“Right here,” Yunho is tucked close to you and Mingi, and he takes your hand in his, drawing your eyes to his, “I’m right here with you,”
“I’m sorry,” You stammer, tears finally subsiding just enough, “I d-don’t know what’s wrong,”
It feels so familiar, this moment, like the overloading torrent of emotion that came after your broken heat so many months ago, only this time the sick pit in your stomach is worse. The stakes feel so much higher, and the echo of hands on your hips and teeth at your throat keep flickering through your mind.
“I think you’re having a panic attack,” Yunho squeezes your hand, sliding closer still and brushing his hand over the back of your head, “but it will pass, and we’re not going anywhere,”
“But I need to explain,” Your throat feels like it’s closing.
“You don’t,” Mingi eases you back from his chest so that you’re perched on his lap, and he guides your face up to his so he can meet your eyes, “right now you just need to breathe,”
He’s right, the hysteria working its way through your system will only grow unless you start to get your arms around it. You grip Yunho’s hand tighter and start to try and regulate your breath, letting your eyes slip closed as you focus, the little shuddering starts melting into deeper and steadier inhales and exhales the longer you work at it.
You start to focus on things you can feel in your mind, things you know are real. Mingi’s warm body under yours, the cool metal of Yunho’s ring against your finger, a weighty hand on your right hip, the distant sound of a voice in the apartment next door. You’re home, you’re safe.
When your eyes open they’re not looking at you but looking at each other, worried little creases in their brows as they communicate silently with their eyes.
“Hey,” Your voice is small when you first speak, weak from exhaustion.
“Hey,” Yunho smiles when he sees your eyes open, squeezing your hand again.
“Feeling a little better?” Mingi murmurs, hand stroking your back.
You shrug and wet your lips, “Not really,”
“Then I think we should talk about this another time,” Mingi maintains, “do you want to try and get some more sleep, or,”
You shake your head and press a palm to the center of his chest, “No, I need to say this,”
“It can wait,”
“Not for me,” You insist, “I’ll just keep thinking about it,”
“Alright,” Yunho smooths your hair over your shoulder and keeps a steady palm against your back.
With a deep breath you steady your mind, get your words right, and then finally try again. “I don’t want the first time I tell you I love you to be mixed up in everything that happened yesterday. Everything feels so confusing and overwhelming because of what happened, but I don’t,” Your fingers knot tighter in Mingi’s shirt, “I can’t lose you again, so I just need you to know what I wanted to tell you on Saturday,”
Yunho’s hand stills on your back, and Mingi’s eyes flick down.
Nerves flood you, terrify you to your core, and you flounder again, “I know I should be able to get it together and to say it like you deserve, but I just need a little time, I don’t want to be thinking about him or feeling him when I think about us.”
Yunho shifts forwards, his lips connecting with your forehead softly as he holds you to him, and he lets the warmth of his skin linger on yours. A sharp, wet noise draws your eyes back up and disconnects you and you realize Mingi’s crying, tears tracking down his cheeks and his eyes shining.
“Mingi,” You reach for him, disconnecting Yunho as you cup Mingi’s cheeks, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I just need a little time,”
He shakes his head, bringing his hands up to hold yours, “It’s not that, I swear to god, it’s not that.”
“Then,”
“I could fucking kill him, I really could,” The edge in his voice sends a chill up your back, and you watch as he swallows hard and takes a deep breath to get his own tears under control.
“Hey, come on,” You try again, “I’m fine, look at me,”
“You’re not fine,” Yunho shakes his head, “you just said so,”
Mingi nods, his eyes opening.
“But I don’t want you to be upset,” You smooth the tears away from Mingi’s cheeks.
“I’m not upset because of you,” Mingi turns his face, pressing a kiss to your palm, “I’m upset because someone almost took you from us,”
The air in the room feels thin at the truth of it, and Yunho looks down at his words, his hand tightening on your hip.
Mingi curls his hands around yours and draws them away from his cheeks, entwining your fingers and resting your combined hands on his chest, “He almost took you from yourself,” he says softly, “that’s why I’m upset.”
“He didn’t,” You soothe him, “I’m right here,”
“You don’t have to make us feel better right now,” Yunho shakes his head, finally looking up, “You should feel whatever you want, and if you need time, we can give that to you.”
Mingi nods, “He’s right, I’m angry, but that’s not for you to fix.”
“We don’t need anything right now,” Yunho murmurs, his hand stroking up and down the length of your back slowly, “just tell us if we’re not doing something you need,”
“That’s not fair,” You smile softly, “you went through something too,”
Mingi hums, disconnecting your hands so he can rub any evidence of his tears away before he sighs, “Remember when I told you it was our job to provide for you?”
You remember how those words made you feel then, so safe in a moment of such confusion and emotion. Your shoulders drop, muscles relaxing as you try this time to listen to him, and you nod at his words.
“It’s our job always,” His hands return to yours, “and right now you have to trust us to hear you and do better by you,”
“But I made mistakes too,” You start to interject but he shakes his head.
“Babe,” He sighs, “none of it matters, not anymore.”
You were supposed to do this differently, to tell them your story and how you felt, and get all the things they didn’t know on the table, you were supposed to let them make an informed choice, but your voice just won’t come the way you need it to, “I just don’t want to lose you,”
“You won’t,” Yunho says firmly, “why do you think that’s going to happen?”
“There’s more to tell you,” You confess, “and last time I should have been honest, but I wasn’t and look where that got us,”
“I don’t think there’s anything you could tell me now that would make me not love you,” Yunho says, smoothing his thumb over your cheekbone, “and we’re being honest now, that’s enough for me.”
“How do you know that?” You scrub away tears that threaten to fall.
“Because I missed you everyday,” He says simply, “and because I didn’t feel home again until I saw you at the party, and yesterday when I thought you were hurt I couldn’t breathe. I’m not going anywhere this time, all I want is us. All three of us.”
“Me too,” Mingi clears his throat to get rid of the resurgence of emotion, “it feels right when it’s us, I’m not willing to lose that.”
Your shoulders drop, all the tension you’ve been carrying for months falling away. They love you, they want you, even still. You collapse against them, pulling them both tight to you and resting on their touching shoulders. “Are you sure you can wait?” You whisper into Mingi’s sleeve.
“Yes,” Yunho reiterates, “of course we can,”
You nod against them, letting their arms fold around you and keep you tucked close.
Mingi strokes your hair, his wide palm cradling the back of your head when he asks, “Does it bother you if we say it? If we tell you how we feel? Or should we give you some time?”
“You can always tell me,” You can’t go backwards now, “I’m done not telling each other things,”
Mingi presses his lips to your head, “Then I really fucking love you,” he murmurs soft in your ear, “and I don’t know what we’re doing, but as long as we’re together we’re going to be okay.”
Tears well in your eyes, the truth of is words cocooning around you, “I believe you,”
The day takes time to pass, and short of Mingi fixing you something to eat for dinner, you all spend it cuddled close on the couch together. Movies play on the television, fingers card softly through your hair, and no one talks anymore about what happened or what it all means.
Your original plan on Saturday would have been so much easier than this, you wouldn’t feel flayed open and raw and terrified to close your eyes or step into a room where you can’t see them in your eyeline, but you won’t lie and say you aren’t still grateful to be here and in their arms. You’re so sick of taking the hard road to get to them, but maybe together it can be different.
Later, at night and in bed again, you sink into that feeling of gratitude. You missed this, the feeling of them next to you, the weight of their hands and the warmth of their chests. Any fear or hesitation you might have felt about your future with these two alphas is dissipating with every passing minute. They made mistakes and so did you, but when things got hard, really and truly hard, they’ve been everything.
From your position curled against Mingi, you stretch and press a warm kiss to his neck, taking a comforting inhale of his rich scent, letting it work through your body and keep you warm. He sighs pleasantly at the feeling, and you wriggle up in their combined hold until you can find Mingi’s lips.
He’s hesitant at first, letting you set the pace this time. His mouth is comfortingly familiar and you ease into each other, sharing a quiet breath and nuzzling his nose between gentle close lipped kisses. He sighs against you, his hand tightening on your side, and you flash back in your mind to the last kiss with him in the studio room.
Flickers of the studio make your pulse quicken and your palms clammy, and you break your lips away from Mingi for a second of fresh air and to stop the sudden nerves sparking up the back of your brain.
Twisting in their arms you turn to face Yunho, keeping Mingi still close at your back while you find Yunho’s cheek and tug him down to your mouth. He makes a soft, surprised noise, and you realize that you’ve never kissed him outside of your heat before. He’s so warm, so instantly responsive to your touch and you pull him a little closer still, letting your legs tangle together under the sheet.
“Baby,” He whispers, fingers running over your hip and down your thigh.
Your lips part, his tongue catching on yours as it dips into your mouth, deepening the kiss and your heart picks up again. You shift your hand, fingers catching under the edge of his t-shirt, just a little more skin on precious skin. Mingi’s hand drops from your hip to your stomach as he edges closer behind you, his wide palm stretching across the expanse of your belly. You shiver, a breathy sound from your lips you can’t catch.
Yunho hums softly, pleasantly, kissing along your jaw the way he knows you love.
You let your eyes slip closed, the sensation of them filling every space around you.
Yunho kisses to the hollow of your ear and then travels lower, shifting to press his lips over the smooth column of your throat, but you feel the tense knot form again in the pit of your stomach. You feel hands on your hips where they shouldn’t be, you see a snapshot of your face in the practice room mirror, the ghost of a tug of your hair.
At the first soft touch of Yunho’s tongue against your tender gland you jerk back and shake your head, eyes fluttering open, “I can’t, I’m sorry I can’t,”
He pulls away immediately, hands off you as you press back into Mingi’s chest, “That’s okay,”
Mingi wraps his arms around you to soothe you, “Your heart’s racing,” he murmurs, “babe, you’re safe, you’re with us,”
“I know,” You nod, taking a deep steadying breath.
Yunho cups your cheek, “I didn’t mean to scare you,”
“It’s not you,” You assure him, “I just think I need some time before we do anything again,”
He nods, “Anything you want,”
“I just,” You try to explain, “for a second I thought I was back in the studio,”
“You’re not,” Mingi reminds you, “and you don’t ever even have to go back in that room if you don’t want to,”
“That’s not very practical,” You smile, kissing his forearm where his arm crosses over your chest as your racing pulse starts to slow.
“I’m being serious,” He says.
“I know you are,” You nod, “but I’m alright, I just think I need a few days away.”
“That’s a good idea,” Yunho eases closer now that he can sense your heightened spike of panic is calming, “I’ll join you.”
“Same,” Mingi rests his head on yours.
“You don’t have to skip work for me,”
“Honestly,” Yunho says, “it would make me feel better to stay with you, I’d be useless at the studio right now,”
Mingi nods in quiet agreement.
“Can I be honest?” You murmur in the dark.
“Always,” Yunho nods.
You find Yunho’s hand to hold and confess a little more to them, “I want you to stay, I feel like you’re both the only thing keeping me present right now, I keep worrying that I’ll slip back there,”
Mingi shifts behind you so he can properly see your face in the deep blue light, “Into headspace?”
You nod, the echo of it in your mind, “It was so awful,”
“I don’t think that can happen,” Mingi shakes his head, “you can’t just fall into it without someone putting you there.”
You remember the distinct way you felt pulled under, the sudden tug downwards and the way you felt so insulated and trapped inside your own mind. You swallow hard and meet his eyes, “I’ve heard of it happening, omegas getting stuck, I don’t want to feel that ever again, I can’t feel that ever again,”
“Hey, hey,” Yunho presses his hand over your heart and strokes your gland softly with the pad of his thumb, “that’s not going to happen,”
“He’s right,” Mingi kisses your forehead softly, “stories like that are rare, those omegas went through years of abuse and that’s awful, but it’s not you. No one is ever, ever, getting the chance to do that to you again.”
“No one,” Yunho reiterates, still soothing your sore gland, “not us, not anyone.”
“I just,” You sigh, “I keep feeling it when I close my eyes,”
Yunho reaches out and brushes back your hair, his fingers smoothing against your temple, “Is that what your nightmare was about?”
You nod.
“You were there again?” He clarifies.
“Yeah,”
“What was it like?” Mingi murmurs his question, keeping it soft. Not a demand or a need, but an opening. Yunho’s eyes flick away from yours to his, but he waits to see if you’ll answer.
Your mouth feels a little dry and you wet your lips as you think about how to describe it. You let their hands tether you as your eyes slip closed, “You know that feeling when your ears are full of water? The way everything sounds like you’re hearing it through a wall?”
“Mhm,” Mingi murmurs.
“It’s like that,” You explain, “like I was at the bottom of a lake or a pool and I knew something was happening around me, but I couldn’t tell what.”
“Do you remember anything?” Yunho asks.
You shake your head, “Yes and no,” but you can see it in your minds eye, “I remember you both looked so scared and I remember wanting to ask you what was wrong, but I couldn’t,”
They’re quiet now, only the thready sounds of their breath and yours as they listen.
“He told me not to move,” You explain, “and to keep my mouth shut,”
Mingi’s hand finds yours in the dark.
“He said, ‘don’t move an inch’,” You feel Minseok’s words against your throat, the final push that sent you over the edge, “and I couldn’t, even when you were there and not him,”
His thumb brushes over the back of your hand.
“I remember you telling me to come up,” You continue, “I’ve never heard you sound like that before,”
“You’ll never hear me sound like that again,” He says, his voice tight, “I just didn’t know what else to do,”
“It worked,” You let your eyes open again, “that’s all that matters.”
“Maybe,” He murmurs, and even though he doesn’t say more you can tell that he’s still a little shaken about using his own alpha tone on you at that moment.
Yunho shifts in the covers, “Jagiya,” he says, “I think you should talk to someone about this,”
“I’ll be alright,” You shake your head, “it’s just fresh and I need more sleep,”
“Just think about it,” he says, “you can always talk to us, always, but we’re not professionals,”
He’s not wrong, but the idea of opening up more than you already have makes something twist a little in your gut. You nod anyways, “I’ll think about it,”
They stay quiet for a little while, and you take a minute to come back to your senses completely after letting the idea and the feeling of headspace occupy your mind for even just a few minutes. When you do, you realize that while Mingi is still cuddled up to your back, there’s at least a foot of space between you and Yunho, despite the way his long arms afford him the ability to still stroke your hair from this angle.
“Come back over here,” You say suddenly, tugging on his t-shirt.
“You sure?” He checks as he eases across the mattress.
“Mhm,” You nod, letting his arms settle around you too.
Confessions bubble up in your chest, the sudden need to keep being honest flooding you.
In the dark, things are always easier.
“I need to tell you something,” You murmur into Yunho’s shoulder.
“Anything,” Mingi says quickly, his body still behind yours.
You say it as plainly as you can, “My last heat was more complicated than I told you before,”
“Okay,” Yunho murmurs, his voice a little hesitant as he waits for you to say more.
“I called Seonghwa, but he was with Wooyoung at the time,” You explain, “and Woo has a whole little heat sanctuary at his apartment, so I spent my heat there with them,”
“Is that what you’ve been so scared to tell us?” Mingi murmurs, his breath tickling your cheek.
“San came to find his friends because they weren’t answering their phones,” You just have to get it all out, “but he stayed, I asked him to stay too.”
“Oh,” Yunho trails off for a moment and Mingi’s steady breath stops.
You brace yourself for the worst of it, your eyes closing tight, but then Yunho says, “San and Seonghwa usually spend Wooyoung’s heats together, right?”
“Yeah,” Your eyes open again in the darkness.
“And they took care of you okay?” He asks.
“They did,”
“And you…” Yunho struggles to find the right words, “you wanted everything? They didn’t push you or,”
“No,” You assure him, “it was all my choice,”
“Okay,”
“You’re not angry?” You expected more of a fight, especially after how betrayed they looked after Seonghwa.
Mingi sighs and you feel his head shake against yours, “You’re here with us now,” he says, “and you said it back then, we weren’t dating, no one cheated,”
“Oh,” Your tight fists unfurl.
“y/n,” Mingi cups your hip and shifts behind you, “I think I already know the answer, but I’ve been wrong about what’s been going on for months, so can I ask you something?”
“Anything,” You repeat his words back to him.
“Was it just heat? Or do you want them too?”
“Just heat,” You assure him immediately, finding his hand and interlocking  your fingers, “I promise you, it was just heat.”
“Okay,” He nods.
“Honestly,” You add quietly, “I don’t think I let myself understand what being with you both had meant until I experienced something different. I’ve never felt the way I felt with you both, before or after,”
Mingi nods again, and Yunho’s lips connect gently with your forehead.
“I understand if this is too much,” You start to say, but Yunho pulls back with a sharp intake of breath.
“No, y/n,” he cups your cheek, “it was hard to see things clearly in the moment that day, we were worried about you and I’ll admit I was jealous too, but you didn’t do anything wrong and we handled it more than poorly,”
“You’re friends with them,” You point out softly, still waiting for the moment they let your words sink in.
“So are you,” Mingi says easily.
Yunho runs his hand along your arm, “If you wanted to be with someone else, would you be here?”
“No,” You answer immediately.
“That’s enough for me,”
“Me too,” Mingi adds, “I just want to move forward,”
“Exactly,” Yunho finds your clasped hands in the dark and holds them both.
“Hearing you say you and Hwa aren’t together,” Mingi presses a kiss to your bare shoulder, “I’ve never been so happy to be wrong about something, this changes nothing, babe,”
Your body unknots in their hands, “Okay,”
“Is that everything you wanted to tell us?” Yunho squeezes you softly.
“That’s everything,”
The room feels lighter with nothing between you.
“Well,” Yunho shifts closer and presses another kiss to your forehead, “I love you,”
Mingi’s nuzzles another kiss  to your shoulder, “I love you too,”
Relief spreads through your body, and you tug them closer until you’re sandwiched perfectly between them once again. The weight sitting on your chest is suddenly gone.
There’s nothing more to say tonight, nothing more to do, but held between them with your legs all tangled together under the sheet you feel safe. You’re tired, exhausted even, but for a little while you can’t close your eyes. You listen to the way their breath evens out as they drop into sleep, gentle, rhythmic sighs as their bodies relax into yours. You listen to the city outside, the hum of the forced air unit, the distant click of a door shutting in the adjacent apartment. You focus on all the things you can feel, all the things you can hear. They way you’re here, present in your body.
Yunho shifts, rolling away just enough that you dip forwards with him and you end up against his chest. His heart thumps low and slow against your cheek. Mingi makes a soft sound at being disturbed, his body attaching back onto you like a magnet as he reaches over and hitches up his leg, cuddling you both.
You didn’t know it was possible to miss a person this much, let alone two.
Your throat tightens up, a feeling deep in your chest and you press your eyes closed. You whisper soft against their skin, practicing the words on your lips, “I love you,”
In the dark, you make them this little promise.

that’s the thing (e.l)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I ACCIDENTALLY POSTED THE DRAFT AND LOST THE ASK 😭😭😭 (but here u go anon if u find this 🙏)
contains: swearing, fluff, smut 18+ (oral, fingering, slight overstimulation)
spiderman!ethan landry x fem!reader
based off you’re here that’s the thing by beabadoobee 🙏
Ethan definitely screwed up.
He swings across the city in tight spandex. “Fuck, fuck, fuck!” Ethan exclaimed, speedily typing on his phone, but you wouldn’t respond.
Being the friendly neighborhood Spiderman, he always had priorities—but that didn’t stop him from spending time with you. Knowing this, you forgave him every time he’d miss something.
Well, that jinxed it. On the lookout, he had completely forgotten about your date, Ethan—being the dork with the heart of gold, thought this would be the last straw for you.
Ethan often thought about this every time he’d be swinging around New York just to make it up to you. One reason why he’d always make it up to you is because he felt like he should, or must.
The second reason why is because it always ends in something wonderful—whether it’s him sleeping over, or the other way around, or something else that would have the boy completely whipped.
Then he spotted you, wearing his jacket you ‘forgot’ to return. His whole world seemed to stop—that was until he remembered the fact that he left you waiting.
A bunch of people backed away when Ethan took you with him. “It’s the spider dude!” Someone near you exclaimed.
“What? Oh my god!” You exclaim, swiftly sliding your hands around his neck. “I am so SO sorry that I left you waiting, okay? I was on the lookout, I completely forgot about our date, I’m really sorry, I REALLY AM!” He exclaimed, talking fast, then you pointed at a pole that was about to hit his head.
Once Ethan was about to dodge it, it hits the top of his head instead. His grip tightened till he swinged back to your dorm—though weakly.
He yanks his mask off and leans back on your bed.
“Less talking, more swinging.” You sigh, grabbing the sides of his face—then you kissed him, your lips moving in sync. He could taste the fruity lipgloss you had put on. Ethan's eyes widened in surprise as you pulled away. He blinked a few times, trying to process the unexpected turn of events.
Then a smile was on his face, pulling you back. Deepening the kiss.
“Being a superhero’s girlfriend isn’t that hard,” You frown, then he kisses more again before you continue, “But seriously, you have to change out of this shit.” Ethan kept a hand on your waist, “Actions speak louder than words, right?”
You jump as Ethan quickly jumps under your bed, your roommate bursting in. “Hey, I’ll be leaving you alone here for a while since I’ve got somewhere to go.” You nod, then they wave, “See ya.” And leave.
Quickly falling on your bed as Ethan uses his webs to lock the door, “This is really cute,” He holds up your diary, the drawing of Spider-Man you made on a sticky note during a lecture. “Can I keep it?”
“Change first.” He rolled his eyes at your command.
He quickly changed into his normal clothes after slipping off the spandex. “Dammit,” He exclaimed as he checked his backpack for flowers he was gonna give you—there were flowers, but only a few, the petals flying away instantly.
Walking into the living room, Ethan uses his webs to snatch the remote from your hands, “We’re watching a movie, because I have to make it up to you,” Then handing you the somewhat ruined bouquet of flowers. “Eth, you shouldn’t have.” You teased then grabbed his camera from the table.
“Try and take a picture of me holding these, that’s how you can make it up to me.” Ethan takes the camera from you then more words come from your mouth, “Although you’re already here, that’s how you can make it up to me.”
The camera flashes in your face as you cover the lower half of your face with the flowers—then laying down on the couch with Ethan as the movie starts playing.
“You know,” says Ethan, “I’m really glad I forgot about our date today,” You frown, then he chuckles, “It led to this and I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
You both chuckle at his words then you shower his face with kisses. Ethan quickly pulled you down to kiss his lips. The movie was long forgotten soon after that.
His lips crashed into yours once again, then his nails dig in your thighs as you straddle him.
“Maybe because you knew it would lead to this,” You mumble against his lips, his other hand running down your spine like an instrument. Ethan broke the kiss to move down to your jawline—then your neck.
His hands tapping on your lower back as you pulled away. “You’re a sneaky one.” You pressed a kiss to the tip of his nose, then Ethan let out a breathy laugh, “I’m Spiderman, of course I’m sneaky.”
“But I love Ethan Landry more.” Right after Ethan takes quite a few minutes to process your words, he pulls you in by your waist to kiss you once again.
You wrap your arms around his neck as his fingers dig into your hips.
He mumbles against your lips, “I want you,” He starts to smoothly put a little tongue in the kiss, then when your lips part even more for permission, it slips in. You hum against his lips as Ethan slowly grinds into you.
You pull away and smile, he drags his thumb over your bottom lip, you try to kiss him again, but he keeps a hand on your chest to stop you. “Can I go down on you?” The question makes your eyes widen as you turn beet red. Ethan’s stupid puppy eyes made you nod, and the smirk felt good to kiss off.
His arms placed you back on the couch, the needy boy got on his knees. Ethan gives you a deep kiss, then he moves down your jaw, he leaves a mark on your collarbone.
It goes from your chest, to your belly, and he reaches your clothed core. Ethan looks up at you and you lick your lips.
The boy pulls down your panties and starts with kissing your inner thighs. The sneaky little thing was always a tease, it pained you slightly but you know you love him.
Ethan presses a wet kiss to your left thigh, sucking on it. His breath fans over your core and you shudder.
He presses a kiss to your clit, then makes his way down to your entrance—licking up then burying his face in between your thighs. Your back arched at the pleasure.
In the early stages of your relationship, you had always told him what felt good, and he made it feel even better.
Your legs threaten to lock around his head, but his big hands hold your hips down. You were basically squirming, and he was only trying to drive himself away from the spot you wanted him to stay on.
Ethan harshly sucks on your clit, circling it with his tongue. You feel like you’re close, VERY close. Without warning, his middle finger enters you and that makes you lift your head up and whine in pleasure, you could feel him smile against your core.
“God, don’t stop.” You say breathlessly, and while muffled, you could still hear him, “I won’t,” He pulls away with a pop, “Trust me.” He dives right back in as soon as he finishes.
When his ring finger enters, your body felt limp and like everything slowed down for a minute.
The hot feeling down your stomach was heating up.
When his nose bumped into your clit, along with his ring finger entering the chaos, that feeling hit it’s peak.
Though Ethan didn’t stop, he kept lapping up your juices—it felt so overwhelming. Your hips were basically jolting up out of instinct.
You shuddered under his touch, he reaches up for your hand and laces his fingers with yours.
When Ethan finally pulled away, he crawled back on top of you and pushed away a stray strand of hair. He didn’t say anything, he just smiled. You know you’d forgive him for missing a date either way, the only way he could make it up to you is just being there.
He presses a soft kiss to your lips, then he mumbles in between kisses, “I’m not done yet,” Your eyes blink open as he pulls away, the taste of yourself lingering on your tongue. “I wonder how people would feel if they find out their friendly neighborhood Spiderman was a pro at not only superhero-ing, but this.” says Ethan.
You chuckle and pull him back in for another, when he breaks the contact he takes the square foil out of his pocket and smirks at you, then places it on the table next to you both. He tries to kiss you again
You grab it from the table, “I’m not on the pill, babe,” You assure him, he shrugs then takes it from your hand. He sticks the tip of his tongue out when he struggles to open it. You laugh at Ethan, and open it yourself. “I’ll be your walking stick tomorrow,” he whispers to your ear.
You were in for a long night.

Rude awakening
Tumblr media
A/N: Here's a little treat while you wait for the Azriel fic that's coming this week.
Summary: Eris has to, once again, bring Lucien along with him on the long-awaited date planned with you. He can't help but wonder how having a child with you would look like...
Word count: 961
Warnings: Based on true event 🤣 maybe like slight angst.
Tumblr media
The house had been cleaned and now smells delightful, you were wearing the pretty red dress Eris had gifted you on your last birthday, and you managed to do your hair and makeup perfectly… Everything was perfect for your long-awaited planned date. You and Eris haven’t been able to have much time together in the last few years, Beron delegated more and more responsibilities to his heir and eldest son since Lucien's birth.
Adorable little Lulu brought a lot of tension between the High Lord of Autumn and his mate unconsciously. The eldest of now six brothers felt a huge sense of responsibility towards the new addition to the Vanserra family. His other brothers couldn’t care less about the youngling. No one would have thought that Eris Vanserra, older than the toddler by a little more than a century, would be the first one to rush to little Lucien and cover his ears, taking him out of the house on a fun adventure he would tell him when a fight would burst inside the Forest House.
Beron was supposed to be out on duty in Summer Court for the week, which assured you and Eris to be able to enjoy a peaceful date at your little cabin you called your house without him worrying about Lucien’s safety, since the little one would be safely tucked in his mother’s arms back at home.
You basically run to open the door when a soft knock resonates on the wooden surface. No words can describe the surprise, and just very slight disappointment, when Eris shows up with an overjoyed Lucien sitting on his shoulders. “Y/N! Y/N!” Lucien squirms on Eris's shoulders, making him groan in annoyance when his sibling tugs on his dark auburn hair.
Lucien leans little grabby hands down to you, motioning you to pick him up into your arms. Eris leans forward slowly, leaving a quick peck on your lips, as you pick up Lucien from his shoulders. You spin the toddler in your arms which makes him burst into laughter. You kiss his pink cheeks before putting him down on the ground. “Hi, Lulu.” As soon as the youngling's feet hit the ground, he rushes to the living room and stares at your fish tank, like he always does when Eris brings him with him here.
You move from the door to let Eris walk into the house. His eyebrows are slightly furrowed as he takes in the sight of you. He wipes a hand on his hand and you can clearly sense his stress and annoyance. You stroke his forearm slowly and move his hand from his face. He grins sadly down at you and kisses your lips slowly, sighing against them while he enjoys the taste he had missed for far too long. “Y/N… I’m so sorry… He came back earlier from Summer Court and-”
“It’s fine, Eris. Really. You don’t have to explain yet…” You whisper and give him one last quick peck before pulling away reluctantly from his strong and warm embrace. You both didn’t want Lucien to know about the reason he and Eris needed to head out of the Forest House for at least a few hours.
The two of them are sitting down at the table, and you hum a song softly while scrubbing the dishes from the dinner the three of you just shared. Eris and Lucien were both drawing a portrait of each other, with the crucial rule of not looking at the other contestant's paper before their ‘masterpiece’ was done. You dry your hands on the towel and look over Lucien's shoulder at his… interesting portrait of his older brother. “Oh! I forgot something.” Lucien then turns his head to you and frowns. “Hey! No peeking!” “I’m not a contestant though…” You can’t help but giggle at the youngling's serious face. “Oh. Yeah. You’re right.” He says before sticking his tongue back out, concentrating on his drawing.
You walk around the table and lean over Eris' shoulder to stare at his drawing. The portrait was a picture-perfect representation of Lucien. “Wow… It’s pretty.” You whisper, and kiss the shell of his ear, making his cheek heat slightly at your praise. “You should see the ones I draw of you…” You purr seductively into his neck. “Oh yeah? Guess you’ll need to bring them over so I can judge that by myself. Next date, maybe?” He smile and looks at Lucien's serious face, concentrating on his drawing. “Gods… makes me want to have kids with you when the three of us spend time like that…”
You chuckle and quickly lean to capture his lips, but Lucien's voice stops you from doing so. “Done!” He shouts and lifts his paper in the air. He slides down his chair and runs to Eris to wave the paper inches from his face. He scrunch his nose and slightly move the paper away from his face to take a good look at the drawing. You clasp your hand on your mouth to prevent a wave of laughter from exploding. You just realized what ‘something’ Lucien had told you he almost forgot to add on Eris' portrait…
Eris' finger drags to the corner of his brow and frowns. “Is it that noticeable..?” “Well, I can see it’s on your face! Mama says we have pimples when we stress too much, that’s why I have none!” Lucien speaks up, smiling brightly.
It’s all too much to contain your laughter. You burst into laughter, holding your painful stomach, unable to stop laughing at Lucien’s innocence and pure honesty. “What did you say about wanting children now, Er?” He only rolls his eyes and thanks his little brother for the drawing.

A/N: Yeah. It happened. We brought my boyfriend's half-sister to the restaurant for her 8th birthday (they have an 11 years age gap), and they were having a drawing contest on paper aprons while we waited for our meals. She drew him with literally the ONLY pimple he had. 🤣 And I was like, "Lol. THAT'S what having kids is like!!"

❝oh.. cara mia, how i love him.❞
♡ rin itoshi ♡
a/n: first time writing for blue lock!! ugh, guys, the brainrot is very severe. they’re all my babygirls fr.
content: rin itoshi x reader, sprinkle of sae in it (if you squint), fluff, angst, hurt/comfort, childhood friend to strangers to lovers, rin’s a little mean, unresolved feelings cause sudden confession, small little tweaks of events, not edited.
---
“rinnie!” your six-year-old self screamed loud and proud for your best friend in the entire world as you ran inside the itoshi household. your parents were left behind at the door, chuckling with the itoshi’s parents because of your excitement.
you tightly gripped the coloring set to your chest, climbing the stairs as fast as you could upstairs to rin’s play room that he shared with his brother sae. you opened the door, seeing the familiar ravenette sitting on the child size chair, focused on drawing.
“rin! you were supposed to wait for me.” you whined, your smile now becoming a small frown as you sat in front of him on the empty chair. rin looked up at you, finally acknowledging your presence.
“ah! y/nie, you’re here so soon.” he gave you a bright smile, his eyes shimmering at your company. suddenly, you even forgot that you were mad at him in the first place, his smile being so contagious as you returned one yourself.
“look! papa got them from his business trip last week and it has crayons, markers, paints and so much more!” you showed him the coloring kit, making him awe from amazement from the variety.
“so cool! hey, can we share?” rin asked and you eagerly nodded your head, laying out your coloring supplies on the table freely.
“who are you drawing for the project?” you asked, beginning your masterpiece, which would consist of cutely drawn stick figures.
“i’m gonna draw big bro, i wanna be just like him in the future. he’s just so cool, he’ll become the best striker in the world and i’ll be the second best.” rin spoke with such passion in his tone, his eyes holding a loving adoration at the thought of his brother.
“nice, i wanna become like my mama. i want to make food as delicious as hers so that i could feed the people that i love.” you chirped, dipping your paint brush in a little bit of water before swirling it inside the watercolor paint palette.
“even me?” rin asked, making you look at him with a slight dust of pink shading your cheeks.
“of course, rinnie. you’re my best friend and i’ll always love you. i think you’re more awesome than sae.” you whispered the last part, making him giggle as he shook his head.
“hm? talking about me?” you suddenly hear a voice behind you, your eyes being covered as you yelp in surprise.
“sae!” you finally peeled his hands away from your eyes, eyes meeting another pair of emerald ones. sae chuckled before ruffling your hair.
“hey! you’re messing up my pigtails.” you huffed, trying to fix your hair that slightly ruined, straightening the bows that were a little crooked.
“sorry, sorry, cutie.” sae raised his hands in defense, making you hum as a response of accepting his apology. he sat on the ground, eyes watching what you and his brother was doing.
“look, big bro! this is you and me when we win the world cup together.” rin eagerly showed his finished drawing, earning a proud grin from his brother as sae ruffled rin’s hair.
“we’ll be the best of the best, together.” sae said, warmth spreading inside rin’s heart from satisfaction.
“yup!” rin nodded.
“hey, what about me? i don’t know how to play soccer.” you pout, feeling left out from the itoshi’s conversation.
“i offered to teach you but you didn’t wanna.” sae replied, pinching your cheeks teasingly as you winced.
“yeah ‘cause soccer is for boys not for girls.” you fake gagged, making sae roll his eyes from your overdramatic reaction.
“you can cheer us on, you’ll be in the front seats watching us.” rin suggested, making you think hard on if that’s the job you wanted to play in the itoshi brothers dream.
“okay! i’ll be your good luck charm.” you gave them a thumbs up, making them both agree.
“my, my! aren’t you three just so cute. let’s take a picture!” rin’s mom cooed, pulling out her phone as she ushered both brothers to stand by your side. you dropped your paint brush, holding your colorful hands up with a bright smile that made your eyes disappear.
you felt rin and sae bent down, placing a kiss on either of your cheeks as a pose.
“1...2...3... awwww!” your parents were in the middle of having a stroke from cuteness overload. on the other hand, you were combusting with happiness from how lucky you were to have two of the greatest friends ever.
---
change is something inevitable.
seasons change and so do other forms of life such as plants, animals and humans. it’s just the cycle of life that we must go through.
the world was still too big for your liking at the age of sixteen, afraid to dip your toes in waters that seemed too cold and foreign.
you were afraid to change.
and perhaps that was one of the reasons why you let the two most important people in your life slip out of your grasp. sae became a hotshot in a small period of time, hitting the news which spread like wildfire. of course, this alone made your and rin’s hearts soar from happiness.
but that was two years ago.
things were different now, so different that you don’t even recognize the itoshi brothers anymore. sae was absolutely no longer in the picture, frequently traveling to places like spain and his visits back in japan lasted no more than a couple of days.
and your best friend, rin, has become nothing but a total stranger. he still lived within close premises, yet his aura felt like someone splashed you with cold water. that warmth that once resided within him was gone.
you quickly barged into rin’s room, your face now becoming pale with horror as you saw him go berserk. his eyes were dark, smashing every single trophy, medal and picture frame him and sae owned.
“i hate him! i hate, hate, hate, itoshi sae!” rin bellowed, not even caring about your existence that was terrified by the door. your shaky hands went behind you, closing the door as you slowly tip-toed your way to him.
“rin?” you meekly called out his name, trying to catch his attention as he was heaving from frustration. he looked at you with a sharp glare, making your throat go dry.
“what.” he spat out with so much venom, making you mentally wince.
“sit down and talk to me.” you grabbed his arms, pushing him back until he sat on the bed and you stood in front of him. your hands were on his shoulders, grounding him on the mattress to make sure that he wouldn’t get up to do anything else.
“there’s nothing to talk about. itoshi sae ruined my life by teaching me soccer, and i will get my revenge on him.” rin spoke with so much hate in his voice it made your stomach churn.
“that’s crazy talk, you both are supposed to become the best together, remember?” you frowned, cupping his cheeks as you tried to somehow make this hateful glint of his disappear.
until he swatted away your hands.
“we’re not kids anymore, y/n. it’s time that you grow the fuck up and realize that this stupid dream the three of us dreamt of was never going to become reality. even seeing you makes me angry now.” rin harshly spat out, making your mouth agape from shock, looking at him with glossy eyes.
“rin, the hell is that supposed to mean?” your voice croaked, your heart feeling like it was on the verge of cracking into two.
“i hate you too, y/n.”
those were the last words that were ever exchanged between you and rin, the last time you both were even near each other. every time the both of your parents would try to organize an event together, you would make some lame excuse to not join them.
but, today it seemed that no matter how significant or desperate you tried to make your excuse look like, your parents didn’t buy it.
“what happened between you guys? you all used to be such good buddies.” your dad asked out of the blue, looking at you through the mirror as he drove. you shrugged, playing with the hem of your dress.
“we just grew up, i guess. besides, the both of them are pretty busy people so i don’t wanna butt in.” you quickly dismissed, not wanting to talk about this whole sibling rivalry they both had going on which eventually wrapped you into it as well.
“yeah, it’s a shame. but, the itoshi brothers are doing very good. sae has gotten into nationals and rin got into some bootcamp place called blue lock. we’re going over for dinner because the brothers are gonna be off on their own path tomorrow.” your mom informed you, making your eyes go wide like the size of two full moons.
it was bad enough that you’d be seeing both sae and rin after two years, but the fact that now even more distance was being created left you unsettled. there was no more hope in restoring whatever friendship you guys had.
you didn’t care much about sae, but rin? he was your best friend, your person, the only person who could actually turn your frown upside down.
what probably hurt the most was the stupid crush you had on him that never died down. you know him like the back of your hand, and you know that the itoshi rin right now is not the sweet rin you befriended and fell in love with as a child. yet, a piece of your heart knew that somewhere in those ferocious green flames of his, your rinnie was still there.
the dinner party was like usual, a bunch of rich people all in one place. you felt stuffy and suffocated, deciding to go up to the balcony to get some fresh air. you noticed a tall figure leaning on the rails, peering down.
“shouldn’t you be hosting your own party?” you snickered, standing beside him as your voice rang a bell in his ears. rin straightened his posture, easily towering over you as your mind couldn’t process how tall he has gotten within the span of two years. his body was more fit and muscular, yet his face was stoic and bored like the last ever time you had seen him.
“tell that to mr. famous, he’s the hot topic of the table.” rin grumbled, stealing quick glances at you with a side eye that you failed to notice. he couldn’t help but notice how you’ve gotten even prettier within the years, his heart fluttering upon the sight of you.
you grew up so well, yet you still reminded him of the old y/n he knew.
“hm, well, congrats on getting in blue lock.” you awkwardly said, rubbing your bare arms as you avoided eye contact with him.
“thanks.” he dryly responded and silence fell between you both.
“so, you’re gonna go away for a long time?” you asked, trying to stir up a conversation with your best friend whom your heart ached and yearned for.
“don’t know.” rin simply shrugged, his resistance making your blood boil. he was acting like it was your first day meeting him and that every single memory between you both never existed.
“alright, i’m fucking done.” you said through gritted teeth, making rin look at you with a cocked eyebrow. suddenly, you grabbed him by the collar, pulling him down to make at eye-level with you.
“the fuck is your problem, huh? i don’t know what went on between you and sae, but that shit does not involve me. i don’t give two flying fucks about soccer, i just want my best friend back. so stop being such an asshole!” you screamed in his face, your eyes pooling with tears that began to sting. rin looked into your eyes, his lips thining into a line before his larger hands peeled your fingers away.
“are you fucking deaf or dumb, huh? that weak and pathetic version of rin itoshi you so dearly hold in your heart is dead. my dream is no one’s but only mine. only i will become the best of the best in the world, the best striker. i will defeat itoshi sae and make him eat his damn words.” his hands balled into fists, making you crouch down as you held your face in your hands, sobbing.
“then why.. why am i looped into this shit?! did you mean what you said to me last time?” you asked, praying to whatever god up there that you overthought everything those past two years.
“of course i did, y/n. you mean nothing to me, right now, the only thing important to me is soccer. hell, i’ll even put my life on the line for it. anything and anyone who gets in my way is nothing but a fucking pain the ass.” rin glared down at you, each of his words feeling like a few hundreds of knives stabbing your heart.
“you fucking jerk. i hate you, itoshi rin! i hate you, i hate you, i hate you! go to fucking hell.” you yelled, getting up with tears in your eyes as you ran inside the house. you tried to navigate yourself to the bathroom to fix your face which was probably streaked with black remains of your mascara.
you bumped into a hard chest, making you groan in pain as you mumbled a quick ‘sorry’.
“y/n?” the familiarity of the voice sent chills down your spine, looking up to see none other than sae. his hairstyle changed completely, his eyes dull as he looked at you with an undecipherable look.
but for some odd reason, his presence made you furious. a part of you couldn’t help but blame sae for the reason why everything went down the drain for the three of you. you roughly shoved him off, catching him off guard.
“do me a favor and go back to spain so that i don’t ever have to see your face again, itoshi sae.” you said in a monotone, not even wanting to look him in the face as you walked away.
a beautiful friendship that you once molded with both brothers turned nothing but into puddles of sorrow and agony.
---
“come on, y/n! it’ll be fun, i promise.” your friend whined, trying to convince you to attend soccer match between u-20 and blue lock today.
“eh, i don’t know. i’m not really a soccer person.” you nervously laughed, trying to shoo her away. but, your friend was persistent.
“come on, pretty please? didn’t you say someone you know goes to blue lock?” your friend narrowed her eyes, making you look at the side as you tried to come up with a lie.
“well, uhm, yeah? but like, i don’t know if he’s still playing in it.” you scratched the back of your neck, trying your best to decline her offer as politely as possible.
you knew that these tickets were hot and porbably costed a lot of money, yet her friend who is playing in the match gave her two.
“well then, i guess you’ll find out!” she said and you sighed in defeat.
“fine.” you mumbled, taking the ticket from her hand.
you both were now outside of the stadium, the lines were making you feel all sweaty and suffocated. you texted your friend, getting annoyed that she was running late and you felt a little stupid standing in the middle of all of these die-hard soccer fans.
“ah, sorry! i’m here.” you friend waved to you at the distance, running over as you rolled your eyes.
“i was gonna go home if you didn’t show up within the next minute.” you gave a small empty threat, making her chuckle.
“hey, no worries. getting inside won’t take too long, let’s get jersey’s!” she sang out, dragging you the stand where they were selling the shirts.
“i’ll get number eleven for blue lock please.” you friend said, pulling her wallet to pull out the money. you read the name on the shirt: isagi yoichi. it was most likely the friend that gave her these tickets.
“what about you, y/n?” she looked at you and your eyes scanned the shirts for both u-20 and blue lock but the summer’s heat was making you feel dizzy. so you just went with some random number that popped inside your head.
“uh, i don’t know, number ten?” you asked more than said. the man gave you a judgemental look which made you a little embarrassed.
“for which team? u-20′s number ten is itoshi sae and blue lock’s number ten is itoshi rin.” the man informed you, making your heart drop as those two names rang loud and clear in your ears.
no way that this could’ve all just been pure coincidence. you were broken out of your thought as the line grew, deciding that no one would even see you anyways from the distance. so, you’d cheer him on behind the scenes.
“blue lock’s number ten, please.” you said with a small smile.
after purchasing the jersey, you and your friend went to the bathroom to change into it. after you both were done, she guided you through different doors in which security people guarded it.
“vip tickets.” you friend eagerly showed them both your and her ticket to the man before they gave her a brief nod. they opened the red rope barrier and allowed you two to enter.
“hey, this is so close to the field.” you said in awe, looking at the huge green field before you.
“of course, dummy. we have first row seats.” she gave you a wide smile, making your heart thump. you both took your seat, waiting for the match to start. the announcer people did their little speeches, making you bored. until, the doors opened and the players began to walk in.
you watched how u-20 walked in, the familiar red head leading the team. your gaze fell on his jersey, it was number ten, itoshi sae. the door on the opposite side opened and the blue lock players walked in and it felt like time had stopped when your eyes fell on the person’s jersey whom you were wearing.
itoshi rin.
you noticed how rin’s eyes held a different glint in them, it was filled with determination and the will to devour. he was finally going to play against his brother whom he once dreamt of playing together with side by side. the more you remember that old childish dream that you three dreamt of, the more your heart ached.
you could only wish that it could go back to that.
the match has been going for what felt like an eternity, but you couldn’t help but have your palms get sweaty. it was intense, both teams filled with bery talented and skilled players. this was your first time watching rin and sae play soccer, as you’d always skip out on their practices in the past because it was boring to you.
but now after witnessing it live, you were nothing but dumbstruck from amazement. their speed, intellect, strength, stamina and overall talent was unremarkable. you would be liar if you denied the fact that you were proud of both of them.
yet, your heart was rooting for blue lock to take home the victory. unfortunately, things weren’t going towards your liking as u-20 was in the lead. one more goal in for u-20 sent the whole crowd roaring and cheering for none other than itoshi sae.
however, your eyes not even once fell on him. you were more focused on rin, his every move was sharp and hypnotizing. you watched him pant from exhaustion, until a different aura replaced him.
you looked at him and your heart dropped to your stomach, recognizing that look from before. it was a look as if a demonic entity has taken over him, his eyes darkening as his tongue slipped out in focus.
fuck.
you watched him go berserk, zooming past all the players and strategically knocking down everyone’s skills with his own. that was until he was now head on head against sae now.
you noticed how his movements waivered for a little, but he shrugged it off and continue to get in his shooting range without being interrupted by sae. the crowd grew quiet as they began to whisper and murmur about the sibling rivalry.
you heard them badmouthing rin, taking sae’s side just because rin wasn’t as well known like sae. you couldn’t take it anymore, leaning over.
“you could do it, itoshi rin! make that fucking goal, rinnie!!” you screamed at the top of your lungs, your voice catching both brother’s attention. rin looked at you with shock, sharing the same look with sae. you gave rin a hopeful smile, giving him a thumbs up.
“i believe in you, rin! you can make that goal!” and with that being said, it was as if his mind was being possessed by your voice, your words guiding him as his body acted on its own.
rin surpressed sae, who didn’t even notice because he was startled by your sudden appearence amongst the crowd. and in a matter of seconds, rin’s leg swung and like fire the ball hit the net.
“fuck yeah!!” you jumped from your seat as the announcers flooded everyones ears with compliments towards rin.
blue lock won.
---
“holy shit, that game was insane!” your friend babbled, making you chuckle as you nodded your head in agreement.
“yeah, it was.” you smiled, the events of rin’s amazing goal and overall play rewinding in your mind.
“hey, i’m gonna go catch up with my friend. i’ll text you when i get home.” you friend quickly excused herself and you nodded your head, wanting to leave as soon as possible to avoid bumping into either brothers.
you were finally able to leave the stadium, now outside as you saw the sun was slowly setting. you leaned against the fence, taking in the breathtaking sight.
“running away from me so soon?” a voice spoke out, sending chills down your spine. you turned your head only to see the 6′1 striker walking towards you while drinking water. he was out of his uniform, now wearing nothing but sweats and a t-shirt.
“rin..” you said under your breath, your voice already half gone from your screaming. you haven’t seen rin face to face for a while now, especially after that night. he made your heart tremble, your knees weak and you always grew nervous.
“never expected you to show up to one of my games.” rin blurted out, making you scoff.
“why? ‘cause you think i don’t know anything about soccer since you’re a hotshot player and i’m not?” you taunted, making his lips curl a little upwards into a small smirk.
“you’re the one who said soccer was boring.” he argued, making you tsk.
“well, it’s not as boring when watching you play it.” you mumbled under your breath, but your words were as clear as day to rin and it made his heart swell with pride.
“is that so?” rin asked, tucking a piece of your hair behind your ear. his skin softly grazed your face, making your cheeks grow warm. your eyes remained on the ground, not being able to meet his intense eye contact.
rin let out a sigh, grabbing your chin before forcing you to look up to him. he looked down at your flustered face, looking over every feature that he has memorized in his mind. you were still the same, the only difference is you’ve matured as you’ve grown.
your adorable doey eyes that would look at him like he’s the most interesting person ever to exist, your cute button nose that would scrunch up in excitement, soft and chubby cheeks that would blush whenever he kissed them and plump lips that would say the sweetest things to him.
you’ve never left itoshi rin’s mind.
“why did you come today?” he asked, looking into your eyes like he’s trying his best to search for the truth.
“my friend had extra tickets.” you admitted, watching his eyes droop a little and lose their shine.
“oh.” his voice sounded disappointed.
“the man in the jersey stall asked me if i wanted u-20′s number 10 or blue lock’s number 10. i chose you, rin.” you said before cupping his face, getting tired of knocking on this hard wall rin has built around his heart.
rin could feel his heart hammering against his chest, the unfamiliar feeling of this weird fuzz made him confused. you were rooting for him from the beginning?
“but why? sae is still a better player than me, i got that goal in by luck because he was distracted.” rin frowned, dropping your hands from his face as you heavily sighed.
“even if everyone in that entire crowd cheered for sae, i would still be your number one supporter and wear your number and scream for you loud and proud. whether you won or lost, you’ll always be the one that i would root for, rinnie.” you gave him a ceshire smile, that beautiful shimmer in your eyes returning just like how you’d have it when talking to him as a child.
suddenly, you grabbed his neck before pulling him into your chest, hugging him tightly. you didn’t want to fight against your feelings anymore, you no longer cared.
“i’ll always choose you, rin. i love you, i love you so, so, so damn much that it hurts. all these years of being away from you made me become nothing but miserable. come back to me, rinnie, please.” you begged, tears streaming down your face as you sniffled.
and it took only those few words to have that wall itoshi rin built around his heart to come crumbling down. he tightly wrapped his arms around your waist, lifting you up as you wrapped your legs around his waist.
“i missed you so much, y/n. i’m so sorry. i-i don’t even know what to say.” he stammered, as you felt him sniffling against your chest. your hand came down to his cheeks, wiping away his tears as you shook your head.
“it’s okay, i know it was hard on you. you suffered a lot on your own.” you kissed his forehead lovingly, feeling him tighten his embrace.
“but still, i was such an asshole to you because i was so consumed by my hatred. i’m so sorry for hurting you, y/n. i felt so guilty, i couldn’t even face you because i knew my feelings would conflict with me.” rin admitted, making your heart skip a beat.
“i love you too, y/n. i always have and i always will.” he said, leaning away from your chest to meet your gaze as his eyes softened. you giggled in content, your hand going behind his neck to pull him into a kiss.
it wasn’t anything too much, a soft yet savoring kiss that you both shared. rin could taste the sweet fruity gloss you used on your lips, humming at it’s sweetness. you smiled against his lips before pecking them multiple times. you cupped his cheeks, squishing them as a pout forcibly formed on his lips.
“ahhh, you’re so cute, rinnie! i just wanna eat you up!” you squealed, continuing to pepper his face and pouty lips with smooches. rin’s face noticibly grew warm and red, but he liked getting this kind of attention from you.
you both spent the next few minutes just hugging and pecking each other, enjoying each other’s close company that you both ached for all those years.
“we got the whole week off, so uh, do you wanna go on a date?” rin asked, averting his eyes from you. a teasing grin danced on your lips as you decided to play with him a little.
“hmm, i don’t know. let me think.” you pretended to think hard, making him scoff.
“y/n!” rin whined, playfully smacking your thigh as you chuckled.
“just kidding! of course i’ll go on a date with you, rin. but, only if you first ask me to be your girlfriend.” you asked with a cheeky smile, making him pinch your nose.
“now you’re asking for too much.” rin teased, making you scoff.
“hey, i was your lucky charm that helped you make that goal. the least you can do is ask me to be your girlfriend.” you roll your eyes, sending him a small glare.
“now why would i give you any credit for that goal.” rin tilted his head, making you huff.
“jerk, fine, then go on that date by yourself.” you said in a petty tone, squirming out of his release before walking off. rin chuckled to himself, knowing that you were right. your voice was the only thing that put him in that trance to make that goal, so yes, you were his lucky charm.
rin lightly jogged behind your before engulfing your figure into a back hug. he snuggled his face in the crook of your neck before kissing your temple.
“be my girlfriend and go on that date with me.” he said, pressing a tender kiss on your cheeks. a girly smile was now plastered on your face and you hummed.
“if you insist, okay then!” you exclaimed, your stomach filled with butterflies.
“good, i can’t win my games without my lucky charm.” rin breathed out in content, wrapping an arm around your waist as he held you close while you both walked.
from a distance, the other itoshi watched, tightly clutching onto his duffle bag. an overwhelming amount of sadness washing over him as he watched his once beloved brother and childhood friend walk away together.
sae let out a heavy sigh, walking in the opposite direction as a bitter smile was on his lips. in a way, the dream you three have dreamt came true today.
the itoshi brothers played together in an intense soccer match while you were in the front rows cheering. only difference was the molten sea of hate and complicated feelings that made things more different.
you only cheered for rin, completely ignoring sae’s existence and perhaps that why this feeling of tightness in his chest prevented him from even caring about what rin had in plan next during the match.
although you and rin found each other once again in the same world, itoshi sae realized that he was way far gone from you both.
he could no longer dream the same dream as you and rin.
itoshi sae has lost his brother and his childhood best friend and he knew that he couldn’t blame anyone else but himself.

Hey lovely!! I love your work and I was wondering if you can do a baji x reader smut with like a friends to lovers where he gets jealous when one of his friends make a move on you as a joke but he can’t take it seeing y/n all happy’ with a. Anna that’s not him and can u please include where someone walks in on them at the end and he says something about how they became a couple like someone walks in and he he’s like “ can you ye out I’m trying to help my girlfriend clean up!” I LOVE YOU SO MUCHHHHH I have read so much of ur stuff BbBbdbdbbdbd
Ima be honest, I wrote this when I was high so like, idek if this makes sense
Jealous! Baji x Reader (Smut)
Annoyed by your lack of attention, he huffed and puffed, and you still didn't say anything,
"What are you even reading that you are so invested in?" He muttered glancing at your book before pouting and setting his eyes aside.
"Huh, you don't know?" You turned to him and showed him your book cover.
Romeo and Juliet
"Ew, what the hell. Who the hell even reads that in their free time." He cringed at your sappy choice of book taste.
"Shut up will you, it's for the Drama Club. It's the annual play, other schools come and parents also come. I auditioned for fun, but I got the main role, Juliet." You explained, before someone abruptly opened the empty classroom door, it was lunch time.
"Woah, Y/n, did you actually join the annual play?!" It was Chifuyu, he was breathing and seemed...flustered.
"Oh, yeah. how'd you know?" You asked, tilting your head a little worried.
"The flyers are literally being passed out everywhere, look!" He unrolled the flyer and then slammed it on one of the desks.
You took a peek before,
"Woah.."
"Huh?-"
It was you and Ryusei Satou on the cover. You had a dagger in your hand aimed high at yourself as you knelt on your dead lover's body, Ryusei was lying on the floor with poison that fell in drops from his mouth, the tragic fate of Romeo and Juliet. On the cover, you looked just so beautiful, you looked alluring. Your eyes were magnetic, drawing people in with a combination of elegance and genuine warmth. Baji understood why you would be Juliet, no one fit better, you were beautiful both in and out, gentle, graceful, oh he could go on and on about you. He never liked to admit it, he loved you too much. But why was that asshole Ryusei, Romeo, he thought angrily.
The next couple of weeks, Baji has barely seen you. So imagine how he felt when he heard that the entire time you were with Ryusei practicing for the upcoming play. Almost as if you cheated on him, not like you were dating anyway. He didn't mean to stop, he really didn't. But when he heard your voice from outside the theater room, he stopped to listen. Even your voice made him flushed and nervous. However, he froze when he peeked in and saw how Ryusei had you in his arms as he performed dramatically. You were smiling and laughing even. You looked so happy with another guy, it broke his heart. He felt like punching him, or anyone at this point. It was now after school, Chifuyu stopped by Baji's apartment to study for upcoming exams and projects. Then he asked when he noticed how Baji seemed more angry than usual.
"Are you upset that Y/n and Ryusei are gonna kiss?" he shouldn't have said that.
"WHAT, THEY KISS?!" He shouted
"Ohh, I shouldn't have said that..."
"She can't- No- UGHH CAN SHE QUIT THAT STUPID PLAY ALREADY?" Baji groaned, throwing his books to the side before slamming his head on his desk.
"This is so stupid." He pulled onto his hair. He stopped and turned to Chifuyu, who muttered something.
"You got something to say?"
"Baji, she was gonna ask you to do the auditions with her but you turned her down for the gang, Also the play is in a couple days so I think it's too late to pull out now." He repeated himself, a little anxious.
Wait, he thought, was it that one time? Shit, he does remember when he turned down your request, you looked so sad and he promised to make it up to you, which he forgot to do. Fuck.
Now, it was Chifuyu's turn to be worried because of Baji's sudden absences. He couldn't be that affecting because of a silly play, right? C'mon that's Toman's First Division Captain, he can't be acting all childish and clingy when it comes to you, right? Wrong, he was in his room walking back and forth, whining about it.
Baji stayed home the day of the play, until he got a text from Chifuyu.
-- Holy shit, there's so many people at the school dude!"
He groaned and put his phone down, obviously people came. You were too unreal, too siren-like. He heard a knock on his door, it was his mom.
"Chifuyu told me what's been going on. I'm not here to talk to you because in truth, I think you deserve it. You had a chance and you wasted it and made her wait. And you know worst of all, YOU DIDN'T EVEN MAKE IT UP TO HER, and here you are being all childish and sad about the consequences to your own actions. If I were you, I would take my ass there and make it up to her." She scolded him, maybe it sounded harsh, but it was out of love, she was sad that he was putting himself through this.
"yeah, LIKE I KNOW HOW. AT THIS POINT, just let them be." He sighed defeated,
"Don't give me that bull. You know how Kei, I know what you've been doing." She said in a smug motherly tone.
He felt his face grow hot quickly as he glanced at the copy of the play he had read.
Stupid, he thought
He heard his mother's footsteps fade as she walked away once their conversation died out. She was right, Baji knew what to do, and he was gonna make it up to you, tonight!
Backstage, you were nervous, shaking even. You were wearing a silky and fancy long nightgown. It was a scene where you are on the balcony of your room confessing your love to the hidden Romeo as he listens to your heart-filled speech. The play was nearing its end, which meant it was closing to where you had to kiss Romeo or more specifically, Ryusei. Which you found extremely awkward. You noticed Chifuyu in the crowd earlier in the play, he was waving and cheering. However, it saddened you how Baji didn't come, he probably had another important gang meeting, you thought. It was the final scene now. You were getting ready to step on stage before you heard some ruckus in the background, before you had time to figure out. The play started and you stepped onto the stage. You talked clearly and passionately, You called out to your lover, this is when Ryusei was to step out and capture you in a breathtaking kiss after some sensual words. You waited, but no one came out. You called out again, nervously.
Suddenly, from the opposing curtain, he walked out. The stage lighting made the moment feel unreal, wait am I imagining this? Why was the one that stepped out of the curtain, it was Baji, it was really Baji. You gasped before you continued with your act. it was subtle but you glanced at Chifuyu who seemed also equally confused. Finally, the play was gonna end, the last scene was a recreation of the Flyer. Romeo and Juliets end. You stabbed yourself with Romeo's dagger as you fell onto Romeo's poisoned body. The crowd roared with 'woos" and cheers as they applauded loudly. You felt hands grip your waist, Baji whispered,
"Y/n, meet me in the costume closet after this. It's important."
What the hell was going on? you thought, first, Baji is distancing himself from you, then he shows up randomly in the play you in AND KISSES YOU. and NOW, he wants to talk to you alone after the play. But if you wanted to find out, you'd have to confront him. It was later after the show now, you were in front of the costume closet, no one was back there. You took a deep breath before entering, Baji was waiting, leaning against the wall.
"Hey Baji, what's up?"
"Keisuke, My name's Keisuke."
"Ookay...Keisuke."
He hated how awkward you seemed around him, he wanted you to laugh and smile like how you were with Ryusei. He sighed as he stood up and approached you, suddenly you were pushed against one of the walls.
"Y/n, do you hate me?" He whispered, coming in closer, leaving little space between your lips.
No, quite the opposite actually, you thought, but you couldn't say that. You just looked to the side avoiding his gaze. He gritted his teeth harshly
"Look at me damnit!" He growled as he forced you to look at him directly.
"Tch, you like this don't you?" He smirked as he toyed with you. He grabbed your face, roughly and chuckled. You glanced at his lips as you both closed in on each other, your eyes locked in an electric gaze, anticipation hung in the air like a delicate melody. The world seemed to pause as your lips met, creating an intimate universe where only the soft whispers of your breaths and the tender exchange of kisses existed. His hands delicately cradled your face, and your fingers entwined in the strands of his hair. The kiss unfolded like a choreography of emotions, starting with a tender exploration and building into a passionate crescendo. Time seemed to slow down, allowing you to savor every fleeting moment of this shared intimacy. Your breath hitched as you felt Baji placing soft kisses and even nibbling on your sensitive neck. The warmth of his lips, coupled with the gentle pressure and softness of the kisses, created the obvious tension and the sense of both of your intimacy and arousal.
"Y/n, I'm gonna fuck you now." He already had his hand in your costume.
"Fuck, your this wet because of me, you're not scared of being caught, You little slut." You whimpered as you rode his fingers,
"K-keisuke, wait- I-" You tried to formulate a sentence but your moans cut you off.
"Uh, Y/n! Baji! Are you guys here?" You gasped as you put both your hands on your mouth, controlling your moans.
"Huh?! What you want, Chifuyu! Can't you see I'm helping my girlfriend change out of her costume, go now!"
Embarrassed, Chifuyu runs out, He sighed,
"You were right... Ryusei."
"Told ya." He smirked as he knew, the only way to get Baji to make a move on you was to make him a little jealous.

Let You Break My Heart Again
Pairing: Miles Morales x spider person reader
Summary: Takes place after ITSV but before ATSV. You and Miles had a plan to meet up but he blows you off so you confront him and you two fight.
Category: Angst
A/N: Yall I’ve never written fanfics before so pls don’t bully me. I also have no clue how to use Tumblr so pray for me.
Tumblr media
One hour and fifty-three minutes. You waited one hour and fifty-three minutes for Miles on top of a building, in the cold weather, freezing. Only after that one hour and fifty-three minutes did you realize that he wasn’t coming.
‘What if something happened? What if the police scanner hadn’t picked up there was an accident yet? What if he’s hurt?’ You thought to yourself while pacing the roof.
You then decided the best option was to literally swing by his house and check on him.
Climbing over to his window, you peeked inside quickly to make sure it was clear to get a full look. But when you did, you saw Miles at his desk drawing in his notebook with his headphones on.
He caught the movement from the window and jumped when he saw you.
“God y/n, you scared me,” he said while opening his window to let you in.
“I scared you? Miles, I waited almost two hours for you. I thought something bad happened,” you all but yell, while taking your mask off and slipping into his room.
“Shit. Y/n Im so sorry. It totally slipped my mind.”
“I reminded you twice today at school.”
“I know and I’m sorry, I’ve just had a lot on my mind,” Miles explains while walking over to his bed and sitting.
“Like what? What were you doing that made you completely forget about me?” You ask, annoyed.
“I didn’t realize I had to tell you everything about my life now.”
“Miles. What where you doing?”
“..Drawing,” he says sheepishly, like he knows he’s been caught.
You decide not to respond, instead walking over to his notebook he had been working on and picking it up.
“Hey! Wait-“ He gets up and yells as he tries to get the book from you, but you interrupt him by putting a hand up.
Your heart drops into your stomach at the drawings inside. It’s all Gwen. You swallow the lump in your throat before speaking.
“I’m sorry that I’m not her.”
“This isn’t about Gwen, y/n.”
“Of course it’s about Gwen! Everything with you is about Gwen. You’re so goddamn obsessed with her that you can’t even spare me a text to tell me you’re blowing me off!”
“That’s not true! I swear, I just forgot. This has nothing to do with her. I was just-“
“Oh yeah, I remember now. You forgot because you were too busy drawing Gwen! God, she’s even all you draw,” you flip to another page of his notebook “Gwen,” another page, “Gwen.” More pages, “Gwen, Gwen, you and Gwen, Gwen, Gwen!” You yell flipping through the pages before giving up and shutting the book.
“What about me?” You ask, barely above a whisper.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t realize you cared about being drawn so much,” Miles scoffs.
“Miles this isn’t about the drawings!” You shout.
“Then what is it about?!”
“It’s because-“ you cut yourself off. ‘It’s because I like you. Like-like you and you’re obsessed with Gwen the way I wish you were obsessed with me,’ is what you wish you could say.
Instead you look at him. He looks back, like he’s waiting for you to say something. Like he knows what you’re thinking and is just waiting for you to say it.
You sigh and put your mask back on while walking towards the window, “You’re right Miles. I’ll try not to care so much anymore.”
Slipping out the window and swinging away, you faintly hear Miles calling out to you, but you didn’t feel like talking anymore. The lump in your throat felt like it was drowning you and the headache from the unshed-tears felt like it could kill you.
Another a/n: I love Gwen I swear please forgive me.

Eddie Munson x Henderson! reader Pt. 2
Summary: Eddie’s been waiting all day just to see Dustin’s sister again and now hellfire has run 30 minutes late.
Warnings: fem! Reader, cursing, fluff, broken walkmans, Dustin’s dead cat is mentioned, two idiots in love, no spoilers
A/N: here’s a part two for everyone who’s been patiently waiting. I didn’t realize y’all would like the first one so much😭 much love.
2.3k words
They’re running half an hour late. Eddie swears he’s tried to wrap up this campaign for the entirety of that half hour, but it’s gotten him nowhere.
“I think that’s a perfect place to leave off.” turned into “guys, we’re running late. No, I’m not late for anything. I’m just a very on schedule man, okay?” turned into “This is where we leave off! I refuse to DM any later then this very late hour of 6:30pm. Clean up your messes. Yes Gareth, I know where we’ve left off, thank you.”
So, much to the boys dismay, they clean up their messes and shove papers and dice into their binders. Not without Dustin grumbling about how they usually play well into 8 o’clock. His sister can wait another half hour. Come on!
They’re still shuffling to get everything picked up and put away when they hear a soft knocking at the door. Eddie flinches out of his skin. Gareth, who’s right next to him, looks at him startled. Who is that? There’s no one else it could be but her, all the teachers are gone and the janitor left 15 minutes ago. Oh my god, the room is still a mess. What is he going to do? His thoughts are cut off by Mike quickly opening the door-
Jesus Christ it’s just Jeff. Eddie completely forgot that he left to use the bathroom 5 minutes ago. He lets out a big breath of air in relief, slumping forward to grab the chair In front of him, and closing his eyes that are now hidden by his messy hair. He’s gotta fix that before he sees her.
Everyone’s staring at Eddie, and Jeff is paused in the doorway, hesitant to walk into the room after such a reaction from his dungeon master. What did he do?
“What.. what did I do?”
“Nothing Jeff,” Eddie waves him into the room, “we’re just cleaning up, cmon.”
He walks into the room, but not without looking at each of his party members confusedly. His gaze sticks a little longer on Gareth who’s now on the verge of tears from laughing at Eddie. Can someone tell him what’s going on?
“Did you think that was her?” Gareth manages to gasp out, he’s weak in his seat holding his stomach and wiping tears away from his lash line. His mind keeps replaying the way Eddie flinched at the thought of her seeing the room in this.. state.
Eddie promptly ignores him. He can’t get worked up right now. He’s gotta play it cool for her and he can’t do that if he’s worked up over his own party teasing him.
At the way Eddie ignores his question, Gareth is sucked into a new laughing fit so hard he fears he might start gagging. Jeff puts his hand on Gareth’s back, slowly rubbing up and down, hoping that the giggles will stop. He thinks it’s kinda.. cute.. of Eddie to be so head over heals for a girl.
“Yeah, yeah, so funny.” Eddie draws out “We’ll see who’s laughing when I’m the only one in this room with a girlfriend.”
“But.. me and Mike have girlfriends?” Dustin’s confusion has taken him so far aback, he hasn’t even realized that Eddie just said his sister was going to be his girlfriend.
That makes Eddie smile down at his DM folder he’s neatly packing up. Why does that make him smile? “Oh yeah, sure.” He lifts his eyes to Dustin’s “Except mine won’t conveniently live in another state, making it impossible for their friends to meet them.”
“Her name is Suzie, and she lives in Utah!”
“And shes hotter then Phoebe Cates?” Eddie’s hand is on his hip now.
“Yes! And she’s like really smart. She can hack into-”
Eddie shakes his head in amusement “Hey, can’t be hotter then your sister.”
Dustin gapes at him. What did Eddie just say? Mike has both hands over his mouth desperately trying not to laugh.
“You know what?” Dustin turns on his heel offended, and walks out the club door, not even waiting for Mike to catch up.
“Shit,” Eddie scrambles for his stuff. Before he leaves the room he runs his hands trough his hair, using a prop mirror to push his bangs into place, and smooths down his shirt. He will not have a remake of lunch.
He’s practically tripping over his feet to keep up with Dustin, who’s setting an imposible pace trying lose Eddie. He’s yelling apologies through the hall “I was joking! Kid! It as a joke, im sorry!” He doesn’t sound sorry though, he sounds like he’s about to bust out laughing.
When they push through those large high school doors, she’s the only in the big empty parking lot. She’s sitting on the hood of her car messing with something in her hands, while Sweet Leaf plays loudly in her car. Sweet Leaf. My God, he’s in love.
She hears the doors open and snaps her head up like she’s been expectantly waiting for something. Or someone.
She’s not wearing her cheer uniform anymore, just a large Back to The Future tee shirt Robin bought her and Steve as an inside joke (she’s been using it as a sleep shirt, but she was in a rush to get to Dustin), and denim shorts. Her hair looks like it’s in the process of drying. Did she take a shower? Also why does he suddenly have the urge to see her in his own shirt?
The “Dusty!” she yells out is wobbly like she’s holding something in, and he can hear the upset laced through it. He thinks he must’ve heard her wrong. That is until he sees her watery eyes and furrowed brows, and realizes he didn’t at all.
Dustin immediately thinks the worst, rushing over to her. They didn’t kill all the demodogs? Russians are back in Hawkins? No it’s not that, she’s handing him something. What is she handing him? Her.. walkman?
Even though she scared the shit out of him, he try’s not to get upset with her. Her Walkman was a gift from Steve and she treats it like it’s the most precious thing in the world, she’s never let him touch it either. Is it broken?
“You scared the shit outta me.” He breathes out, winded from running through the parking lot.
She looks genuinely sorry. “I’m sorry dusty,” She’s had that tight feeling in her throat since 5:30 when she got out the shower and saw her mothers cat treating her most beloved Walkman like a cat toy. The talking gives into her tight throat and she lets out a quiet sob. Oh, Eddie’s heart just broke a little. She sticks her Walkman in Dustin’s hands, “look.”
“Why are you handing me this?”
“Click play.”
“Oh.”
Her Walkman won’t play when he clicks the button.
“And! My Master of Reality cassette is stuck in there!”
Dustin frowns, “You love that cassette.”
“It’s my favorite one!” She sobs, dropping her head into her hands. She doesn’t fight the crying anymore. Only, she’s being so quiet that the only reason Eddie can tell she’s crying is because of how hard her shoulders are shaking. He wants to hug her so bad. So bad.
Dustin fiddles with it for a moment, bringing it up to his eye to look at it closer, before looking up at her and asking “what happened?”
She treats this thing like gold, she couldn’t have been the one to do this.
“Tews, that stupid fucker. I came into my room and he was tossing it around like it was a play toy. I thought maybe you could fix it”
Dustin’s just trying to distract her enough to quiet her sobs, he really doesn’t know if he can fix this, but worst case scenario he’d ask Steve if he would buy her a new one. And he would! Matter of fact, if Steve knew that this one was broken right now he’d insist on buying her a new one instead of Dustin fixing it himself.
“I hate that new cat,” another choked sob “I miss mews so much” now Dustin doesn’t know if she’s still crying about her Walkman or if she’s accidentally made herself start crying over their dead cat. That poor mangled cat.
Eddie thinks he hears her whisper out “so mangled” and wonders what the hell happened to their last cat. I mean mangled?
“I know, I know” he’s still fiddling with it. She looks like she wants to object when he starts softly hitting it, but she doesn’t.
“I liked Dart more than I like Tews. Dart’s face opens up, he’s a carnivore, and Tews is somehow still meaner!” She sniffles a little while Dustin nods, too engrossed with trying to see what’s wrong with the Walkman. “What was the candy you gave Dart down there??” down where? Eddie’s so confused. “Was it a.. Nougat?” Dustin nods again.
“Nougat! I’m gonna go back down there with a Nougat and bribe dart to come back up and kill Tews the way he killed Mews”
What? Okay. Now they’ve really lost Eddie. He looks over at Mike, expecting his confusion to be mirrored on the younger boys face. Why does Mike look like he understands what they’re talking about? What the hell?
Dustin let’s out a strangled laugh like he’s startled and pats her knee, “I think I’ll be able to fix it.”
She gasps, wiping the tears off her face harshly, “really?”
Dustin nods, “I might even be able to save Master of Reality.”
She hops of the car quickly and throws her arms around him ecstatic. Eddie hears a quiet chant of thank you’s. He could laugh at how quickly her mood changed. Like a mood ring in a warm fist he thinks. When she pulls away she remembers her promise of dinner and says “you guys are getting extra fries tonight.”
The excitement that bursts from the two youngest boys has her in wet laughs. She turns to Eddie and swears she has a heart attack when she realizes that he’s there too. When did he get there? Did he see her crying? Oh Christ she’s mortified.
“You can come too, if you want I mean. You don’t have to come if you don’t want-“
The boys excitement dies down quickly. Well, Dustin’s does. Mike still has a grin on his face. Before Dustin can object, Eddie rushes out “I want to come! I’ll come, if you want me to?”
“I want you to come.. if you want to come.”
A loud laugh bubbles out of him, startling her into a nervous laugh. They’re just repeating the same thing over and over. “Yeah, I want to come. But my car-“ he points behind him dramatically, smiling at her “is alllll the way back there. Do you wanna meet there?”
Her words mix and muddle with Dustin’s, as he says “no” and she says “yes” at the same time, but he wasn’t listening to Dustin. He was listening to her.
“Ok! Cool! So I’ll just-“ he makes to walk towards his car.
“We haven’t told you where we are eating yet?”
“Oh-“ he laughs a little, looking away to cover up his bright cheeks, just in case the dark of this cold fall night doesn’t. That’s actually a really good excuse. His face is just really.. really cold right now? Jesus Christ. “What- where are we gonna eat?”
She turns and gives an expectant look to where her brother just was, but he’s.. gone? She spins a full 360 looking for him and quickly realizes that he’s sitting in the dark car with Mike. He just really couldn’t stand to watch them stumble around each other any longer.
She lets out a breath of a laugh, and Eddie can see it in the cold air. “Jesus. he’s- he’s something.”
She walks up to the window and crouches so she can motion for him to roll the window down. When he does he looks severely unimpressed, arms crossed and looking cross himself. “What d’you and Mike want for dinner, Spock?”
He rolls his eyes at her teasing and says “You seem very in the mood for Enzo’s”
“Har har, very funny. What do you want for dinner Mike?”
“The diner on curly?”
“Perfect, thank you.”
She gets up and walks back to Eddie, feeling more prepared. “We’re gonna go to the diner on curly, do you know where that is?”
He nods, “I’ll see you there, pretty”
He didn’t mean to say that. He really didn’t mean to say that. Oh my god. What’s wrong with him? It wasn’t him being smooth, it was him having no filter! I need to buy a filter he thinks.
Meanwhile, her heart soars. He thinks I’m pretty?? She smiles so hard, so quickly, she turns her entire head away to look behind her.
He was hurriedly looking for any emotion he could find on her face, but when he sees her look away to hide that ever growing smile, he feels sweet relief. Suddenly he’s bursting with pride. Maybe he is smooth.
He’s smiling wide when she turns her head back to look at him, and she feels she needs to look away again just to escape his pretty smile.
“Yeah, I’ll see you there, Eddie.” She can’t even say it to his face, his attractiveness is blinding her.
He watches her quickly turn towards her car and climb in, before turning towards his own car himself. The smile never leaves his face.
He really needs to ask that girl out on a proper date.

Nightmare of a Roommate
Tumblr media
Requested: Nope
Pairings: Jake Seresin x Reader
Word count: 3k
Summary: When you are forced to share an apartment with the notorious Bagman, life seems to be harder than it should be. But what difference does a few weeks together make?
Warnings: mild swearing, mentions of death, the usual fluff
A/N: Two posts in one week?! I had this idea come to me today and knew I needed to get it out! I love to hear all your thoughts and comments! As always, my inbox is open to you!
Part 2
Tumblr media
Top Gun was currently redoing their dorms which meant the group of aviators who were called back were placed in apartments close to the base. Normally it wouldn’t have been a huge deal, but the number of vacant units caused a slight issue. Everyone had to pair up. The higher ups figured the best way to do it was for everyone to draw a number that way no one can complain about how it was done. Or at least not blame them for who their roommate would be for the next few weeks.
You each took a turn drawing a paper out of the hat and you pulled out the number 4. You smiled to yourself because that number had been your lucky number for as long as you could remember.
That was until a southern voice called out, “Which lucky person got the other number 4?”
You cringed at the question and Natasha looked over your shoulder in curiosity. “Oh god. Hey Bagman, what kind of flowers do you want at your funeral?”
You smirked at the question and his answer almost made you laugh. “Is that the kind of question you ask guys? No wonder you’re still single.”
Her laugh told you she found the whole situation entertaining. “Might want to get your affairs in order. I don’t see you lasting more than a week with Y/N.”
His head whipped over to you and a slow smirk appeared on his face much to your annoyance.
“Wipe that look off your face before I do it for you.” He chuckled and held up his hands in mock surrender.
“I’ll make sure to keep my door locked at night.” He gave you a wink and turned back to Coyote.
You couldn’t help but shake your head at what just happened. Of all the people here, you just had to be paired up with the teenager on steroids.
Natasha came and put an arm around your shoulder. “If it gets too bad, we can set up something in my room.”
You gave her a weak smile, “Thanks, but I think I can manage a few weeks with him. If something changes, like needing help to bury a body, you’ll be my first call.”
She snorted in response, “I already know a good spot to hide him.”
A voice behind you both made you jump. “The two of you are scary.” Bradley had a concerned look on his face, but Natasha waved him off. “Don’t get on our bad side, Bradshaw and you’ll be fine.”

Day one and you already wanted to strangle the man. You knew everyone had their own quirks when it came to their routine, but his were borderline insufferable.
It started out with only having one bathroom. If the Navy taught you anything, it was how to be quick about your personal time. Your showers were under five minutes, and you were courteous enough to do your hair in your room. The only issue was, you forgot to brush your teeth while you were in the bathroom. Something you planned on quickly doing when the blonde was done with his shower.
A few minutes of waiting turned into nearly half an hour, and you had to leave for base if you didn’t want to be late. What the hell he was doing in there you had no idea, but you couldn’t wait any longer. You mumbled “asshole” and walked out of the apartment to your car, making a mental note to move your toothbrush later.
The group of you were ushered into the hanger, getting ready to listen to the plan for the day. A tap on your shoulder had you turning around to see your roommate from hell holing out some gum.
“Thought you might need it.” You narrowed your eyes at him and shook your head.
“I knew it took a lot of hair product for your hair to be the way it is, but thirty minutes to get ready seems like a waste of time. Clearly it didn’t do you any favors.” You turned back around before you could see his reaction, but the muffled laughs around you had you smirking.
Tumblr media
End of week one and the two of you were getting into a small routine, being able to work around each other. He realized very quickly not to talk to you first thing in the morning. Getting a breakfast burrito thrown at him was not something he wanted to make a regular occurrence, so he kept his distance until you had a cup of coffee in you.
That morning though, he came in from a run just as you were waking up. Seeing the sand come off his shoes into the kitchen had you taking deep breaths to keep your cool. You had to admit, seeing him shirtless was a sight to be had, but it still wasn’t good enough to mask his intolerable personality.
“I don’t understand why you have to go for a run every morning.” Not only did it bring in the sand, but the smell of sweat wasn’t also something you particularly enjoyed.
“I’m flattered that you think these good looks are all natural, but sadly I do have to work out.” It took your brain a few seconds to process what he had said, and you opened your mouth to try and come up with what you meant.
“That’s not-no. I meant-you know what, whatever.” His laugh was what you heard as you retreated to the bathroom, and you knew the best way to get back at him. You took your five-minute shower and then kept the hot water running full blast as you finished getting ready in the bathroom. Twenty minutes later, you walked out ready for the day and gave Hangman a smile as you passed him in the kitchen. He gave you a questioning look, but eventually went to go take his shower.
You were about to walk out to your car when you heard a shout, “God dammit!” A smile was plastered on your face for the rest of the day.
Hangman stopped you in the hall at Top Gun and asked why you used all the hot water. “You seemed to get all hot and bothered talking about yourself this morning that I figured you needed a cold shower to calm down.” He stood there looking like he was pissed off with what you said, but the stupid smirk appeared. “Good thing I love a cold shower. It’s better for my hair.” And walked off.
Tumblr media
Things changed in week two. Training had gotten intense and the stress of everything was starting to show with everyone. Coyote ended up in G-LOC and Natasha and Bob had to eject after a bird strike. Things like that had old memories surfacing and you could only hide so much. Your teammates had no idea you were struggling to keep it together, but Hangman saw right through your act. He just didn’t know how to approach the subject without pissing you off.
It was three in the morning and a nightmare had woken you up. Knowing that if you closed your eyes, it would just replay again. So, you made the decision to get up and watch tv. You kept the volume down low to not wake up your roommate, but you didn’t know he woke up during your nightmare.
With thin walls, Hangman could hear everything that went on in your room. He knew when you finally went to sleep at night or when you decided a light workout at midnight was a great idea. But this night, he heard a pained whimper and the constant tossing and turning coming from your bed. It didn’t take long after for the footsteps to follow and the opening and closing of your door. What surprised him though, was the tv turning on in the living room at three in the morning.
He knew you had problems getting to sleep or staying asleep. But most of the time you at least attempted to get a few hours in before getting up. Tonight, was a red flag for him and he knew he couldn’t stay silent anymore. No matter how much you hated him, he couldn’t let you keep going the way you were. Eventually the lack of sleep is going to catch up and he knew it would be while you were in the air.
Your ears perked up when you heard a door open. A few seconds later, Hangman came walking into the living room and sat on the couch across from you. This was the first time either of you interacted with each other this late at night and you could feel the uneasiness coming off of him. A glance over to him showed he was lost in thought, looking at the ground in front of him.
“What are you doing up?” His eyes lifted towards you at the question, and you waited for him to answer.
“I could ask you the same thing. Last I checked, there was nothing good on at 3 in the morning.” Your eyes squinted at his response, and you tried to figure out his play.
“I don’t see why my sleeping habits are of concern to you.” Your answer seemed to deflate him a bit. Almost like he was disappointed in what you said. But again, you didn’t understand why.
“Look, Y/N. I know you haven’t been sleeping and recently you haven’t been yourself. The others don’t see it because you do a pretty damn good job of putting on an act, but I do. Is it something I’ve done? Because if that’s the case, I’ll go bunk with someone else. I don’t need you getting hurt out there because me.”
His words hit you harder than you wanted to admit. You tried to figure out how he came to that conclusion and thought back to this last week. You were closed off, the jokes you made towards him had all but vanished, and you mainly kept to your room. But it wasn’t because of him. It was easier to hide away than explain to someone what was going on.
“It’s not that. Work has been stressful, and I have my own way of dealing with it.” It wasn’t a lie, but it was a very watered-down version of the truth.
“And the nightmares?” You winced at that question. Here you thought you had been doing a good job of hiding things, but the blonde in front of you was too observant for his own good.
“Why does it matter? In a week we won’t be roommates anymore and everything will go back to the way it was.” In a last-ditch attempt of avoiding the real issue, pushing him away seemed like the best option. Until he said what he did.
“Because I know what it’s like to be a prisoner in your own head. To feel like the world around you is moving too fast for you to keep up. And while I may not be your biggest fan, I wouldn’t wish that kind of internal struggle on anyone.” You watched as he ran a hand through his hair, clearly struggling to find the right words. The ever so cocky pilot wasn’t here tonight, and you found yourself struggling to keep your composure. It was easier to put up a front when he was the worst version of himself. But this was different.
“How about tonight we pretend like we don’t have a million differences with each other. You can say anything, and I won’t judge or even bring it up in the morning. But something is wrong, and you need to talk about it. And what better person to do it with than someone who doesn’t know you that well?”
He was right. If you confided in one of your close friends, like Natasha, you knew it was something she would remember for a long time. While she may not judge, the pity looks were just as bad. Hangman was a near stranger when it came to personal information. The two of you only knew each other on a surface level, never trying to push boundaries.
“Last year there was an accident. A friend and I were on a routine flight when a bird strike hit. Both of our planes caught fire and I ejected without a problem. Her lever was stuck, and she ended up crashing her plane into a mountain. This last week just opened old wounds and it’s like my mind is stuck in the past. I’m either too worked up to fall asleep or a nightmare wakes me up. Every time I close my eyes, that day keeps playing on a loop and I guess I just thought it would eventually stop.”
You knew the memory would never quite leave you alone, but you hoped things would at least get easier. But seeing Natasha’s plane crash was too close to the original memory.
“Can I make a suggestion and you not get mad?” It was a loaded question, but your desperation for some sort of help pushed you to nod your head.
“Sometimes having someone near you when you go to sleep can help. It’s almost like a sense of safety that you can sleep, and the other person will have your back. I’d rather you be pissed off next to me while you get a few hours of sleep than have to stand next to your casket because you couldn’t think clearly in the sky.”
His words were brutally honest, and you couldn’t tell if you were thankful or not for it. To have someone not tip toe around your feelings was almost refreshing, but why did it have to be Jake Seresin of all people?
The last two weeks have been nothing but a challenge living together. You were two very different people forced to coexist and now he was talking about you sleeping in his bed. The boundaries you had made very early on were about to be crossed and that’s what you were struggling the most with.
“It will change things.” Was your response to his suggestion. But a quick shake of his head and you knew it was a weak argument.
“Nothing changes. You need a source of safety and I’m willing to provide it. I know you may not think I’m a team player, but when it really counts, I’ll have your back no matter what.” You searched him for any signs of misleading, but the only thing you saw was a genuine concern.
“Okay. But only for tonight.” He gave you a small smile, one you had never seen before. The smirk you had come to hate was nowhere to be seen and you were starting to wonder how much of a front he puts up. Because then man that was currently offering his bed to help you sleep, was not the man you thought existed.
You awkwardly crawled into his bed and turned with your back to him, facing the wall. You felt the bed dip, and the warmth behind you told you he wasn’t far. To your surprise, his hands stayed to himself, and he was a respectable distance from you. But the sound of his even breaths mixed in with the smell of him had you slowly drifting off to sleep.
Tumblr media
A few days had passed, and Jake was honoring what he had said that night. Nothing was ever brought up and the two of you went back to how things were. But things seemed easier now. The dancing around each other in the morning was seamless and you found his presence to be comforting rather than an annoyance. Things moved forward and for once you felt like you were keeping up.
That night came at you like a fright train. You had gone the last few nights without a nightmare and only a few wakeups. But the hope of moving forward was quickly crushed when you woke up out of breath and tears streaming down your face.
It almost scared you how much you didn’t think about what you did next. You walked out of your room and knocked on the bedroom door next to yours. Jake answered the door in sweatpants and his hair in a million different direction. Clearly, he had just been woken up. But he very quickly was on alert as he took in your tear stained face and shaking hands.
“I-I’m sorry. I woke up and just came here. I didn’t mean to wake you. I-“ He cut you as he wiped a few tears away.
“Come here, sweetheart.” He wrapped his arms around you and pulled you into his chest. One hand was rubbing the back of your head and you started to sob against him. All the hurt and pain you had been keeping in, finally escaped. You both stood like that for a few minutes, him letting you calm down some before he let go.
“Stay in here tonight. I won’t let anything happen to you.” He wiped the tears away and gently grabbed your hand, leading you over to his bed. This time was different. This time you weren’t the levelheaded pilot who knew to keep walls up around others. No, this time you were a broken girl desperate for comfort. Which is why you curled yourself up next to him, allowing him to wrap an arm around you to pull you closer.
“Get some sleep. I’m not going anywhere.” He kissed the top of your head and lazily drew circles on your back.
A few weeks ago, you hated the fact you were stuck with him for the next few weeks. But now, you had no idea how you were going to let him go.
A/N: Thank you so so much for reading!!! I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did writing it!

Chapter 32 of human Bill is convinced he's the best prisoner ever and does not deserve this abuse from the Pines:
Bill gets his fingernails painted! 💅🌈✨ Look at his fingernails, I drew this week's picture just to show them off. They're fun.
Bill also gets bound to a magic poppet that can control his every move.
It's hilarious for Dipper and Mabel, but not for Bill.
Tumblr media
The early morning still was broken by Stan's wails of despair.
At some point during the night, the egg-and-toilet-papering kids had come back to Stan's car.
And they'd brought rocks.
####
Bill woke up with a sheet tossed over him and a cupcake sitting on the window seat. The cupcake was pink with green frosting and decorated like a happy jack-o'-melon. It was sitting on top of a note:
"Sorry I didn't mention I had plans tonight! Robbie's mom made cupcakes for everyone so I grabbed you one. The music video's gonna be AMAZING! I'll show you when Robbie posts it!" Mabel had signed with a shooting star.
Bill decided he hadn't been mad at Mabel last night at all.
He battled gravity to heave himself vertical, trudged downstairs to the bathroom, stuck his face under the faucet until his mouth tasted less like sour sandpaper, agonizingly dragged himself back upstairs to his makeshift bed, and collapsed under the sheet to wait until his head stopped hammering.
####
Sprawled on the living room floor, Mabel said, "What should I draw?"
"Draw me." Bill was sitting cross-legged on the sofa, watching the news and nursing a glass of Mabel juice. In an effort to counteract the lingering queasiness from overdosing on sugar and chocolate, he'd spiked the juice with two ground-up Elderly 60+ Vitaman™ brand Man Vitamins (khaki flavor) stolen from a bottle that Ford had bought for Stan and that Stan forgot to take.
"Okay!" Mabel turned around and squinted up at Bill. "Strike a pose!"
"Not like this!" Bill shoved a hand in Mabel's face to force her to stop looking. "Draw me how I really look."
"Bill, that's illegal. Remember?" Mabel pointed at the TV. Bodacious T was reporting on a child who'd dressed up for Summerween as "that weird out-of-towner who bothered us last year, you know the one," and who, under the Never Mind All That Act, had been fined fifty pieces of candy. The child's mugshot showed his crying face, but blurred out his yellow costume.
"He'd be the coolest kid in town," Bill said, "if he wasn't such a crybaby in front of the cops. Draw me anyway."
"I don't wanna get arrested!"
"Do you see any cops?" Bill grinned. "Just don't sign your name, nobody will know it was you."
Mabel considered that. "I can sign it someone else's name." She pulled out a few crayons.
"That's what I'm talking about! Do anything you want forever and frame the innocent!"
"What do you want me to draw you doing?"
"The coolest thing you can think of."
Mabel considered that, and got to work.
The news was boring now. They were talking about the weather, and it wasn't even interesting weather. "So hey, you were gonna tell me about filming last night?"
"Oh yeah!" Mabel said. "Did I mention the part where the dead rose from their graves?"
Bill muted the TV. "And I missed it?"
Robbie had decided the cemetery at his place would be more atmospheric than the trick-or-treater-filled streets (and less likely to have their shots ruined by passersby that didn't appreciate the depth of Robbie's lyrics). It went great, until the vibrations of angsty rock-and-roll stirred the slumbering corpses and they clawed their way from their graves. It turned out Gravity Falls had been having off-and-on invasions of the undead for the past year, ever since somebody decided to reanimate every corpse in town for fun, Bill.
"You can't prove it was me, I'm not the only one who knows how to raise the dead!" Bill laughed. "Hey—you're not drawing this body, are you? You said you wouldn't."
"I'm not, I promise!"
"Then why do you keep staring at me?"
"Um."
"Let me see!"
"No! Don't ruin the surprise!" Mabel picked up a glitter pen with feathers glued to the end and waved them in Bill's face. "And no cheating with your eye-bleeding psychic magic!"
Bill smacked the pen away. "Fine! So what did you do with the zombies? Feed one of the teens to them?"
"No! I chewed like four packs of gum me and Dipper got from the weird homeless dentist and made a fake baby brain. We used it as bait to lead them into an open grave," Mabel said. "And then we realized we could use the brain to train them to do tricks! So now we have dancing zombies in the music video. They actually learned the choreography pretty easily."
"Makes sense," Bill said. "I did fill the space where their souls should be with an insatiable hunger to party."
Mabel grinned. "I thought you said they weren't your fault."
"If they're good at dancing, I'm taking credit!"
"They were pretty good—especially considering how many limbs they were missing," Mabel said. "I'll show you when Robbie's finished editing the video."
"And I'll get to see you playing a creepy ghost kid, right?"
"Yeah! We were the greatest ghosts ever! Check it out, we were like—" Mabel fixed Bill with a dead-eyed slack-jawed stare and whisper-sang, "'We're the things that you have lost. Childhood joy, dead as a ghost.'"
"Chills."
"Dipper tried so hard to get in character as a ghost that he completely zoned out for a minute! When we shook him out of it, he said he felt like he had an out-of-body experience!"
####
At his computer, Robbie clicked play on a clip of the twins standing side-by-side in front of the cemetery gate. As they sang the chorus, Dipper's face went still; and then a spectral gray form rose out of his head, still singing in sync with Mabel.
"Whoa," Robbie said. "Sick. I'm keeping that in."
####
"So, it turns out my bro is an expert method actor," Mabel boasted.
Bill thought back to Dipper drifting up and down the stairs in the middle of the night. "Yep. Sounds like he's got quite a talent."
Mabel set down her crayons and held out a paper. "Okay—what do you think?"
Bill accepted the drawing. "Am I riding on the back of a rocket ship?"
"Like a bucking bronco! See the rocket flames doing a loop?"
"Sure do. Why am I holding a fish bowl?"
"It's like a cowboy waving his hat, but, you're in space. So that's your astronaut helmet."
"It's beautiful," Bill said intensely. "It's the best thing I've ever seen."
"Aw, really? Thanks!"
"When I take over the universe, I'm rearranging the constellations to look like this."
"Don't do that, though."
"Fine, but I'm hanging it up in my throne room." Bill set down his empty glass so he could hold the picture with both hands, beaming at it as proudly as though he'd made it himself. Big change from his lukewarm reception of her house drawing yesterday. She should draw Bill more often. Being a good artist meant understanding what your audience wanted.
Unfortunately, now that she'd finished her drawing, she didn't have anything to distract her from staring at Bill. And she'd taken about as much of seeing him as she could stand. "Bill. I say this with non-judgmental love. But you look sooo terrible."
"Yeah, I know. I think I'm shaped about as nicely as a human could ask for," he pantomimed drawing a triangle in front of his torso, "but let's be real, there's only so much you can do when you're working with a human bone structure. And there's way too much neck—"
"No! Bill, your body is beautiful just the way it is, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I meant your hair looks awful."
Bill had taken a shower yesterday morning, emerged with his hair all wet and tangled, and done absolutely nothing to detangle it. And then, with it still half damp and totally disheveled, he'd shoved it under a cheap acrylic wig for the rest of the night. And then he'd fallen asleep on the floor still wearing the wig.
And now, with the wig removed, his hair looked like a bird had plucked out half a scarecrow's straw brains and made a nest out of it.
"It sure does," Bill said, with the slightly forlorn air of someone complaining about a war in a far-off country over which one had no power.
"So brush it!"
"No. Never. You can't make me."
"Why not? I thought you wanted to keep your hair all triangly!"
"Not enough to touch it. Either it'll figure out how to straighten out on its own or it won't, I'm not messing with it. I've got enough going on in my life today." By which he meant he had the last lingering traces of a hangover, which was a valid excuse to get out of all social, moral, and aesthetic obligations.
Mabel groaned in frustration. "I can't take looking at it anymore! If you won't brush it, can I?"
Bill gave her a skeptical look; but then he flung his hands out dismissively. "Sure, why not? If it bothers you so much. Have at it."
"I'll be right back!"
She got her brush from upstairs and a spray bottle from the kitchen, and directed Bill to sit on the floor so she could get on the couch behind him. After making such a fuss about brushing his hair, Bill was surprisingly well-behaved with somebody else brushing it for him. He didn't even complain when Mabel accidentally yanked on some nasty snarls a little harder than she meant to.
"I feel like a corpse getting prettied up for my funeral," Bill said. "Grooming each other is how humans bond, isn't it? This is one of your little social rituals? If all you wanted was to make sure we're still friends after you ditched me last night, you could have just asked."
Mabel shoved her foot between Bill's shoulder blades. Wise guy. She joked, "Yeah! We're bonding now! After this we're gonna paint each other's fingernails and talk about what kind of boys we like."
"I want rainbow spiral fingernails."
Mabel really should be used to this—but she still kept getting surprised that Bill was interested in the stuff she liked. And not even in a patronizing sure-I'll-play-along way. He'd turned to look at her. There was a gleam in his eyes. He really wanted rainbow spiral fingernails.
And now she wanted rainbow spiral fingernails, too. "Fine! But look forward until I finish your hair." One way or another, Mabel vowed, she would reform Bill into a proper good guy—even if she had to drag him there kicking and screaming. Fun dress-up partners were hard to find, and she couldn't afford to lose Bill.
####
Soos wandered to the living room to find somewhere to hang up his and Melody's "Best Couple Cosplay" award, but stopped in the doorway.
Bill, Mabel, and Waddles were sitting on the floor, watching some kind of cartoon psychedelic fairy princess lecture a spider on the importance of colors, with a bowl of popcorn between them. Bill and Mabel both had bright multicolor fingernails and were eating the popcorn with chopsticks to avoid touching their nails. There was more popcorn on the floor than in the bowl. Waddles had taken no such cares to avoid dragging his freshly painted hooves through the carpet.
"Truth or dare," Bill said.
"Dare!"
"Dare you to assassinate the..." Bill trailed off. "I can't have the mayor assassinated, he runs Rainbow Club. And the sheriff and deputy invited me... There aren't a lot of public officials in this dumb town, are there?"
"I'm not killing anybody, Bill. Truth."
"Fine, coward. What's your favorite toxic fume fragrance?"
"That's easy! Gasoline!"
"Hey, mine too! At least on this planet. It smells like—you know that smell that heralds the coming of rain? Gasoline is the smell that heralds a really fun time."
"Yeah! Like going on a road trip!"
Bill paused. "Right! I was... I was definitely thinking about road trips. That's exactly what I meant."
Mabel added, "And it looks so cool when there's a little bit spilled in a parking spot—"
"The rainbow puddles! Yes! Big fan of the rainbow puddles—"
"I love parking lot rainbow puddles! It's like surprise happiness in the most boring place on the planet!"
Soos mumbled, "Girl talk," decided to hang his award up later, and left.
####
Dipper heard the bedroom door open and Mabel call, "Hey Dipper!"
"Hey." He didn't look up from his journal, where he was documenting last night's zombie adventures. "Oh, hey, bad news—Wendy said she got a text from Robbie, it sounds like all the footage from the cemetery last night is ruined?"
"Aww! What? But we worked so hard to train those zombies!"
"Yeah, it's just static. But everything we shot outside the gates is fine. I wonder if it's something supernatural that interferes with electronics?"
"Something supernatural? In the cemetery? Full of zombies? What are the odds of that!" Mabel laughed. "But heyyy, I've got some good news!"
"What?"
Mabel stuck a hairbrush full of gold hair between Dipper's face and his journal. "I got a replacement for the Bill hair sample we gave Pacifica!" She grinned and whispered, "Wanna make a poppet?"
####
It would have been really cool if the first full moon of summer vacation had come on Summerween. But the calendar gods were unkind that year, and instead, it came the next day, on June 23.
Which worked out, in the end, since it meant they didn't have any scheduling conflicts on the one night they could make a poppet.
They had the ritual space set up in their bedroom—a chalk star drawn on the floor with a black candle at each point—and the doll representing Bill—which Mabel had upgraded with button eyes and a miniature version of his favorite knit hoodie. They collected all the shed blonde strands off Mabel's hairbrush, wrapped them around the doll's neck, and tied them on. They set the doll in the center of the star; Bartholomew talked them through the ritual; the flames on the candles leaped a foot in the air, turned a pale blue, and then went out; and the binding ritual was complete. The doll was now connected to Bill Cipher.
"Weird," Bartholomew said. "Usually the flames turn black. I've never seen them turn blue before."
Dipper said, "That's not a problem, is it?"
"No, no. I've just never used the binding ritual on an alien before! I guess it works a little different!"
Dipper picked up the doll and eyed it skeptically. "Mabel, I know we said we're saving this for emergencies only, but—maybe we should test it out just to make sure it actually works?"
"I guess we should," Mabel said, grimacing. "Just—don't do anything that'd hurt him. Okay?"
Yeah, Dipper should've expected that. Whether he liked it or not, Mabel didn't just see Bill as her weird experiment in criminal rehabilitation—she saw him as her friend. He sighed. "Okay. But is it fine if we do something that would embarrass him?"
Mabel shrugged. "I don't see why not!"
####
As they crept from their room, Mabel whispered, "What if we stick him in a box and shake it up? And then tell him there was an earthquake!"
"I thought you were the one who didn't want to hurt him."
"Oh right."
Bill wasn't on his cushions under the window, so they crept downstairs. Halfway down, Dipper stopped, putting a hand on Mabel's arm. Bill was sitting at the kitchen table, chin in his hand, staring out the window.
"This is perfect," he whispered. "He's completely vulnerable. He's got his back to us, he's looking at the moonlight—even if he turns around, he won't see us because his eyes will have to readjust to the dark."
"I don't know if his eyes need to adjust," Mabel said. "Have you ever noticed he never turns the lights on when he goes into a room?"
Dipper considered that. He hadn't noticed—but now that Mabel mentioned it, Bill did have a tendency to lurk in the dark. "Well—okay, but he's still not looking at us. Let's see how this works..." He studied the doll; then turned it around and gently brushed a finger through its yarn hair.
For a moment, nothing happened; and then Bill swatted at the back of his head and looked around, as if he was trying to find what had touched him.
"I think it's working," Dipper hissed.
"Are you sure? What if there's actually a fly in the kitchen?"
Could be. "Let me see if it can control him."
"Careful—"
Dipper grabbed one of the doll's arms and tentatively lifted it.
Bill's arm shot up. He stared at it in bafflement. "Wh...?"
Mabel bit her lip. Dipper waved the doll's arm.
Bill's arm waved. After a pause, he tentatively asked, "Hello?" As if he thought maybe his arm was waving at someone and he should play along with it.
Mabel and Dipper clapped their hands over their mouths, fighting to keep their giggles quiet. Mabel elbowed Dipper, "Hey Dipper Dipper Dipper, get him to stand up, let me control his legs, I have the best idea—"
Bill knocked over his chair and had to flail his arms for balance as he abruptly jerked to his feet. He looked around, eyes wide and wild, an edge of panic to his voice as he hollered, "WHAT'S GOING ON!"
Dipper held the doll out to Mabel. "Okay hurry!" Mabel took it by the legs—
—and Bill started doing the cancan. He shrieked. "WHAT?!"
Dipper shoved his shirt over his mouth to muffle his hysterics. Mabel was letting little wheezy squeaks out through her nose. Bill's voice was almost an octave higher as he screamed, "WHEN I FIND OUT WHO'S BEHIND THIS, I'M GONNA SHRED YOU—" and they both got so close to bursting laughing out loud that they had to pause to punch each other's shoulders for self control.
Still holding one of the doll's legs up, Mabel hissed, "Dipper do you remember the bottle dance. Where they crouch down with bottles on their heads. Can we—can we get a tiny bottle for the doll—"
Bill was failing both arms to avoid falling with one foot held in the air. He grabbed the counter for balance. And then, with a grunt of effort, he wrenched his foot down and stomped it to the ground.
The doll's leg yanked out of Mabel's hand.
Dipper and Mabel fell silent, staring at the doll. They looked at each other. Mabel whispered, "It shouldn't be able to do that, right?"
They looked at Bill.
Bill's face was burning red, and he was so far past fury that his expression was perfectly blank. His eyes were huge, and round, and pointed straight at them.
They bolted up the stairs.
Bill charged after them.
They screamed in terror. They weren't loud enough to drown out Bill: "WHEN I GET MY HANDS ON YOU BRATS—"
Mabel grabbed Dipper's arm. "Dipper, do something!"
"Uhh—!" He tossed the doll in the air and caught it.
They heard an alarmed yelp as Bill was launched in the air and then a crash as he landed on the stairs again.
They scrambled into their room and slammed the door. "Safe!" Mabel said.
"Yeah," Dipper said, panting for breath. "Can't get us here."
The doll's head twisted 180 degrees to stare up at them.
They yelped. Dipper tossed the doll to Mabel. Mabel held it out at arm's length, threw it in her nightstand's drawer, and slammed it. It tried to open again and she leaned against it with her full body weight. "Dipper, the duct tape! In my craft supplies!"
"Which craft supplies?!"
The tiny knocking inside the drawer was echoed by the pounding at the door, accompanied by a string of creative death threats: "—and when I'm finished the coroner won't know which corpse was which! I'll make a belt out of your spinal columns—!"
"We didn't do anything," Mabel shouted, "it wasn't our fault!" She took the duct tape from Dipper and frantically wrapped it around the night stand. Dipper added, "It was someone else! And we'll never do it again—"
Sleepy and muffled, Soos's voice drifted through the door, "Dudes? What's all the hubbub?"
Dipper and Mabel gasped, "Soos!" "Save us!"
His voice the perfect tone of righteous indignation, Bill declared, "I'm being assaulted, that's what!"
Stan's voice joined in from downstairs: "BILL! If you don't leave those kids alone I'll cave your nose in!"
"THEY'RE THE AGGRESSORS," Bill screamed, half hysterical. "They are! I'm the victim here! I'm being victimized!"
Stan shouted, "Kids, good work! Bill, you can go to—" He grumbled as he self-censored, "—sleep! Shut up and go to sleep!"
"You can go jump in the bottomless pit, Stanley Pines! I'll tear you all apart with my teeth if I have to! NOBODY in this stupid junk heap of a shack is getting any sleep until I get my—"
From just outside the attic door, Stan roared, "BILL!"
There was a dull thud as Bill leaned against their door; a lot less shouty, he quickly said, "I'm going to bed, I'm going to bed, I'm going to bed."
"That's what I thought," Stan snapped. The kids heard his footsteps retreating downstairs. Soos said, "Um... night," and his door shut. After a moment, there was the creak of footsteps retreating from the attic door.
Dipper and Mabel slowly, softly snuck across the room to the door, and pressed their ears to the crack. No sound.
They stayed there for several minutes, barely breathing, listening to the silence.
Finally, Mabel pulled away and looked at Dipper. They both nodded, and Dipper opened the door a crack to check if the coast was clear.
Bill's eye stared in. "Hey, kids!"
They yelled. Dipper tried to slam the door; but Bill had already shoved his hand through. Fingernails painted with neon colors and black spirals clawed at the doorframe. He shouldered through the gap in the door, and then he was in the room, smiling much too wide and eyes fixed on them like helicopter spotlights on two wanted criminals. There was blood on his teeth. "Wow! Playing with poppets?"
Dipper upturned his suitcase and held it up like a shield. Mabel pointed a can of spray paint at Bill's face. Bill took a step closer and they took a step back.
"Pretty advanced trick for a couple of children your age," Bill said conversationally. "Not bad, not bad at all. Heck, I'm impressed you pulled it off! Although you didn't make a very smart choice of test subject." He stomped a foot twice.
Something in the nightstand thudded twice. The twins jumped. Bill laughed at them.
Mentally cursing himself for having flinched, Dipper straightened his back and glared at Bill. "You're just mad you got jerked around like a puppet! What's the matter, Bill—you can dish it but you can't take it?" Mabel looked at Dipper like he was crazy.
Bill's indulgent smile cracked, dropping into a snarl of rage. He shifted his weight toward them. Mabel dropped into a judo stance and Dipper sucked in a breath to shout for Stan.
Before anyone could launch a full attack, Mabel took a shaky breath in, forced a nervous smile, and said, "Bill, hey..." (His eyes snapped to her face like a predator that just heard a twig snap.) "This was—just a funny prank, and we're all cool? Right?"
"Mabel," Dipper muttered. "Shhh!"
But Mabel kept looking at Bill. "Right? Buddies?" She held up her arm, showing Bill her friendship bracelet.
Bill stopped and rocked back on his heels. He gave Mabel a long, hard look—like he was seriously considering whether to accept the reality she was inventing. "Yeah. Real funny." Smiling through grit teeth, he said, "You know—it's been a while since I've had my energy strung between two vessels. I didn't even know what that experience felt like for a human! Very interesting. Educational. And it was nice to feel weightless again for a second. Even if the landing was a little rough." He licked the blood off his teeth. One of the teeth shifted. "So—thanks so much for spicing up a boring night. It's been a real blast. Hasn't it." He stared at them like he expected an answer—and possibly like he planned to strangle whoever answered first.
Dipper and Mabel exchanged a look. Dipper shook his head slightly. Mabel looked Bill in the eyes again. "Yeah! Big blast. So, you're not... mad. Right? Nobody's mad!"
Bill stared her down for a moment longer; and then said, "Sure, kid! It's all fun and games!" He forced a laugh—and then another, longer one, hahhh, like he was exhaling all his rage. And just like that, he was back to normal. "I'll admit it—for a second there, you almost got me good! Not bad at all." He held out his hand insistently. "And now the game's over, so you're gonna give me that toy so I can neutralize it. Aren't you?"
Dipper bit his lip, looking past Bill toward the stairs. He could yell for Stan; there was no way Bill could kill them before reinforcements got here—
Mabel elbowed Dipper's side and whispered, "We can't keep it."
And she was right. Now that Bill knew about the doll, he'd be spending all his time plotting how to get past them to take it, and they wouldn't have a second's peace. Either he got it now, or he got it later. Bill wouldn't rest until the doll was out of their hands.
Because he was terrified of it. Why wouldn't he be?
"Yeah," Dipper sighed. "Game over."
"I'll get it." Mabel peeled just enough duct tape off the night stand to wiggle it open a crack and try to squeeze her fingers in. Bill stretched his hand toward Mabel, and the doll stretched an arm out of the drawer. Mabel flinched in surprise, but grabbed the arm and yanked the doll free.
"Ow." Bill grabbed his shoulder and rolled it gingerly. "Careful, kid, are you trying to dislocate my arm? I don't mind popping it back in, but eventually that socket's gonna wear out."
"Sorry! It was a tight squeeze." She held the doll over Dipper's suitcase shield. "Here."
Bill snatched it from her hand. "Thanks a million, star girl." He favored them both with his most nearly-charming, far-too-wide smile. "Good night, kiddos. Have sweet dreams."
"You too," Mabel said weakly.
Bill left. Dipper shut the door. He and Mabel both heaved a sigh of relief.
From the loft over the attic, Bartholomew called, "Is he gone?"
"What are you doing up there?" Mabel asked. "Barty-mew-mew the scaredy-cat."
"I'm not fighting that guy, I'm porcelain and he's crazy."
Dipper flopped on his bed and stared at the ceiling. "Welp. I'm gonna have nightmares about Bill chasing me up the stairs."
Mabel sat on her own bed. "He just wanted to terrify us. And to keep us from seeing we'd terrified him." She fingered the star beads on her friendship bracelet. "He wouldn't have hurt us, I'm sure of it."
"Wh—seriously? You don't think Bill—"
"I know! But he's changed a tiny bit! He'd hurt anyone else, but he won't hurt us," Mabel said. "Or—well, me, at least. But I think he'll leave you alone too if I'm with you!"
Dipper pushed himself up on his elbows to look at her. "If he'd caught us on the stairs, do you really think he wouldn't have tried to tear us apart?"
Mabel considered that; and then reluctantly admitted, "He wouldn't hurt me as long as he remembers he doesn't want to hurt me."
"Yeah, well. I wouldn't count on him remembering when he's mad." Dipper slid under his covers and rolled over. "Barty, can you get the lights?"
"Sure, one second." All the lights and lamps in the room flickered ominously; and then, with a sinister pop, snapped off without being touched.
"Thanks, man."
Mabel didn't climb into bed. She was staring at her fingernails. She'd painted them the same colors as Bill's; but she'd used a black marker to draw spirals on his, and he'd drawn stars and sloppy tiger stripes on hers.  In the dark, the colors were all faded.
This time, just once, maybe she and Dipper were the bad guys. He might disagree—he'd actually been puppeted, maybe he saw this differently from Mabel—but that probably didn't make it okay to do it back to Bill just for fun. They should've saved the poppet for an emergency. And the cancan, she decided, was definitely too much.
She smoothed out her covers; then she pulled up her knees to her chest, hugged them, and stared thoughtfully down at Bill's face in the middle of her zodiac blanket.

In the dark and quiet of the downstairs bathroom, Bill sat cross-legged on the toilet lid. He held the doll in his cupped hands. Soon, he'd disassemble it—but not yet. Tonight, it was his tool. He shut his eyes and focused on it.
There was the thinnest thread of energy, channeled through his shed hair, connecting this doll to him. He studied the thread, feeling it in his mind, exploring it, strengthening it—until he could almost feel it tugging on him.
And then he started psychically groping for similar connections.
He set the doll on the floor, on top of the drawing Mabel had given him.
His other eyes—the billions of depictions of his face scattered across this planet—weren't meant to be used in this dimension. They were designed like windows he could peer through from the Nightmare Realm; here on Earth, he was on the wrong side of the windows to see through them. And he wouldn't be surprised if the Axolotl had somehow found a way to blindfold them on top of that—after all, he seemed to have done the same to most of Bill's other abilities.
But Bill was resourceful, he was stubborn, and he didn't have anything better to do.
He focused all his energy on trying to feel the drawing the same way he felt the doll, searching for a connection between this body and that face—and he searched, and searched, and searched.
He wasn't sure how long he tried. At least a couple of hours. Straining, straining—for nothing. His head hurt.
What was the difference? The doll was shaped like him, the drawing was shaped like him. What did the doll have that the drawing didn't?
The hair. A bit of his flesh.
Bill knelt over the picture, studying it in the dark. He opened an eye wide, wiped a fingertip across the surface of his eyeball to collect his tears, and pressed it to the drawing's eye.
He could feel a thread of energy stringing from his eye to the paper.
He climbed back on the toilet lid, shut his eyes, and focused on that thread. With an effort that threatened to split his head in two, he pried open his inner eye. And then he was staring up at his own human form from the drawing on the floor.
His body was shaking. His head was throbbing. He wobbled dizzily on the toilet; and as he saw himself topple off, his trance broke, the vision disappeared, and he blacked out. White spots burst behind his eyes.
When he next opened an eye, the room was spinning. He shut his eye. It was several minutes before he could sit up without being sick. He leaned against the wall and let the sweat on his forehead and cheek soak the old wallpaper.
The white spots he'd seen as he passed out were his distant all-seeing eyes.
He'd done something tonight. That was good. But there was no way he was seeing through any other pictures like that. He needed something he could focus his power through, like an antenna.
He needed gold.

You and Mark have a long story. You had been dating for five years when he decided to pop the question. And now, five years of marriage and two kids later, you’re still as in love as you were when you first met.
And if love is still in the air, the same thing can be said about passion. Mark is still as clingy as he was ten years ago. He will never help you cook (for the safety of the family, he washes and dries the dishes) but he will always make sure to tease you, wrapping his hands around your waist and kissing your neck while he whispers things to your ear, at times innocent, at times things that would make you want to have him right there and then. And you’d do it if only it weren’t for the little ones running around the house.
He even dares to tease you when you’re outside, busy taking care of the garden. “You used to be braver when we were younger,” he pouts when you slap his hand away, looking around fearing the neighbours might see. “Exactly, we were younger.”
“Oh, so the rumours are true,” Mark chuckles, “you can’t take me anymore?”
“Oh, please, shut up, Lee,” you say, playfully kicking him with a swing of the hips.
“You sure you can?” He teases, kissing your neck while his hands wander on your body, this time cupping your right boob with no impediment.
Your breath falters as you try to keep your focus on the plants, and you hum in reply.
“The neighbours are out,” he whispers, dibbling your neck after moving your hair to the side. “We can have a bit of fun.”
You let out a low moan, head rolling back while the hold on the watering can loosens. “Mark,” you whimper when his other hand reaches down, moving on your clit through the fabric of the long dress you’re wearing.
“Mommy! Daddy! Minjun is drawing on the wall!” Minseo’s scream immediately makes Mark pull away and you drop the can from your hands, splashing it all on your clothes.
“I can’t do this anymore,” you sigh exhausted, looking at your husband in disbelief.
Mark chuckles, kissing you briefly. “Get changed, I’ll take care of the modern Pollock,” he says before running inside with your oldest daughter.
You wish this wasn’t a constant, but it is. Every time you two have some moments alone, something happens. You don’t get mad, after all, Minjun is only two years old and wants to explore the world, especially now that he learned how to walk. But you miss those old days when he would spend most of the time sleeping or playing in the playpen.
“Mommy!” It’s a Friday afternoon when you think you might finally have the opportunity for something to happen, after Minseo comes back from school with your husband with a big smile on her face.
“Hi, honey. How was school?”
“Great! A friend invited me to her place tonight. Can I go?” She asks, swinging her body side by side as she waits for your answer.
“Of course, you can,” you reply, smiling back. “Come on, let’s go prepare the bag.”
Getting Minjun to sleep is harder than usual, and you fear that night won’t go as you exactly planned. But you still succeed to make him fall asleep before Mark comes back from dropping Minseo, and have time to get ready.
You forgot how it felt to slip into lingerie and admire yourself in the mirror, and you can’t wait for Mark to see it.
“Fuck,” it’s the first thing Mark says when he sees you as soon as he enters the place. “You look — shit — you look perfect.”
You giggle, finding endearing how his reaction is still as awkward as always.
“Where’s — uhm — where’s the baby?” He asks, looking around.
“The baby’s asleep,” you smile, walking toward him in your high heels, studying his face, and watching him gulp with each step closer. “We have all night to ourselves.”
“If he doesn’t wake up,” Mark whispers, but his eyes are running on your body, stopping on your chest that’s pressed up by the bra and then moving down where the lace lingerie is basically see-through before falling on your legs. “I — I’m speechless.”
“I forgot it takes nothing to impress you,” you chuckle before pulling him in for a heated kiss.
“Nothing?” He asks through the kiss, struggling to catch his breath as you hurry to get him out of his clothes. “It’s you,” he says before lifting you up and walking upstairs.
Once you’re in your bedroom, he lays you on the bed, swiftly getting out of his pants and underwear to be on top of you and kiss you again. You both needed this like air, and it’s clear in the way you are both so harsh and greedy with your hands and lips.
“You’re so wet,” he whispers when his fingers reach between your legs and he starts moving them in circles on your clit. You don’t reply, not like he needs your verbal confirmation, and not like you’d be able to give it to him anyway. You feel on fire, and so close already. Probably it’s because Mark is really good at this, pushing his fingers in and out, curling them right where it makes you tremble, and sucking your clit until he leaves you breathless, or probably because your body has been left starved for so long, too long. Whatever it is, it doesn’t matter, and you don’t care you come so easily.
“Fuck, babe,” he murmurs, trailing up to kiss you while he keeps pumping his fingers to ride your orgasm. “Missed me much.”
“So fucking much,” you mumble, pulling him down by his nape. “Need you inside me, Mark,” you whisper, but when he doesn’t obey, you feel your patience wear thin. “Now, Mark. I need you, now!”
“Damn, alright, darling,” he giggles, pulling out of you before positioning between your legs. “Keep quiet if you want this to last.”
“He won’t wake up, just fuck me alright.”
Mark doesn’t say a word, just grabs the base of his dick to push into you slowly, whimpering as he sinks into you and your wet, warm pussy wraps around him. “Fuck,” he breathes out, voice shaky, “it’s been ages.” His hold on your hips tightening as he starts moving, rubbing on your soft skin.
“Come here,” you beg, wrapping your arms around his neck as soon as he leans closer before doing the same with your legs on his waist. “Needed you so much,” you whisper, running your hand on his back, enjoying the sensation of his soft, bare skin.
“Me too, honey,” he moans, throwing his head back as he starts picking up a rhythm.
“More,” you cry out. “Please, Mark. Faster,” you plead, fingers running in his blonde hair, pulling at it until a louder, deeper moan rolls from his lips.
He utters a curse before his hips start moving faster against you. “You feel so fucking good, shit,” he breathes out. “Won’t last long.”
“Don’t,” you reply breathlessly, “fill me up, please.”
Mark would love to make this last more, but he can’t resist you. The way your pussy is gripping him and dripping is making him go insane, not to mention how beautiful you look with your head thrown back, overwhelmed with pleasure while your parted lips let out the prettiest moans he has ever heard. He should remind you to keep it quieter, but he’s too lost in those sounds to care.
“Mark, please,” you cry out, pushing him closer again. And in that messy, needy kiss, you both lose it, the orgasm hitting you hard, leaving you trapped in a panting mess.
He stays on top of you for a while, leaving small kisses all over your face and whispering how lucky he is to have you, making your heart burst with joy. But when his arms don’t hold his body up anymore, he’s out of you, rolling to the side, with his arm resting on his forehead as he tries to take deep breaths again.
“Wait,” Mark says, watching you climb on top of him, “what are you doing?”
You smile smugly. “Minjun didn’t wake up,” you say, grabbing his dick and aligning to your entrance, slowly sinking on it. “I told you we were going to have all night to ourselves.”

Casey Novak x autistic fem!reader Warnings: 18+ MINORS DNI. Graphic sex, oral, fingering, language. Word count: 3,286
Your heart was practically beating out of your chest by the time the two of you made it through Casey's apartment door. You didn't even have time to look around, barely noticing the stacks of manila folders scattered around the apartment.
Casey let the door slam shut behind you, then pushed you up against it, somehow gentle and rough at the same time. She reached past your waist to lock the door, kissing you deeper than you'd ever been kissed in your life. You felt nearly drunk as Casey's tongue slid into your mouth, her breath hot and desperate. You gasped as her hands slipped under your shirt and trailed up and down the bare skin of your back. You were all too aware of the rapid beating of her heart, the way the buckle at her waist pressed into you.
When she moved from your mouth down to your neck, you felt your legs grow weak. When she sank her teeth into your pulse point, you let out a moan. You felt her grin against your skin, then run her tongue up your neck and back to your mouth. She pulled away and looked at you with a smug expression.
"You want to go to bed?" she asked, drawing circles on your waist with her thumb.
"What?" you exclaimed, a confused look on your face. "No, I don't want to go to bed. I thought we were gonna have sex!?"
Casey laughed and kissed the side of your head, dragging you back to the bedroom. "Go to bed as in have sex, you idiot."
"Oh," you replied, following her eagerly. "Then yes."
Casey's room was spare, but nice. Each piece had been chosen with care, and none of it was cheap. Now that you were here, in her space, in her bedroom, the nerves started to kick in. Casey was already unbuttoning her shirt, throwing it off to reveal a simple black bra and more skin than you'd ever seen. Pants followed. You forgot how to breathe for a moment, but when she moved to lift your own shirt over your head, you found your voice.
"Wait, wait, wait," you said, pulling away.
"You okay?" Casey asked, concerned.
"I, uh... I've never–" You didn't quite know how to say it, afraid it would bring your evening to a screeching halt. "I'm a virgin," you finished, avoiding Casey's eyes.
"Okay," Casey replied, matter-of-factly. When she didn't say anything else, you glanced at her. If anything, she just looked impatient.
"Is that... okay?" you asked, shaking your hands at your sides–an anxious stim.
Casey grabbed one of your hands and pressed it flat between hers, massaging the anxiety out of it. "Mmhm," she confirmed, taking your other hand and repeating the process. "Perfectly fine. More than fine. Let's just lay down some rules first so you feel safe."
"Okay," you agreed, a little less nervous than before.
Casey sat cross-legged on the bed and patted the spot next to her. You joined her, feeling more and more comfortable, like this was a sexy sleepover. Casey's fingers tracing up and down your forearm didn't hurt either.
"Since it's your first time, I'm not gonna get too crazy," she said.
"Thanks, I think?" you replied, your eyebrows scrunched.
"Don't worry. There'll be plenty of time for crazy later." She winked at you. "But I need to know, is there anything you don't want to do or that you don't want me to do?"
You squirmed and avoided her eyes.
"Hey," she said, grabbing your knees and pulling you closer. "I need to know. I won't be upset. I promise I can work with whatever you need. I can even pull references if you want."
You laughed quickly, then blushed and squeezed your eyes shut. "I don't want anything inside me," you confessed, embarrassed.
"Anything at all?"
You shook your head, your hands starting to shake again. Casey took them and held them still in her own.
"Fingers?"
You were beet red as you shook your head.
"Tongue?"
Another shake of the head.
Casey's face was scrunched, like she was concentrating very hard. "Noted."
"Is that gonna mess things up?" you asked quietly.
"God, no," Casey said, smiling at you and trying to get you out of your head. "You know where the clit is, right?"
You coughed and nodded: "Uh-huh."
"Then you should know I won't have any problems."
"You're pretty cocky," you observed, still avoiding her eyes. You were embarrassed by how turned on you already were. You were still embarrassed to be wanting sex at all. Call it a remnant of the church culture you'd grown up in or a product of being slightly on the asexual spectrum, but it felt illicit. And Casey was so... comfortable.
"Don't worry," she bragged. "You'll find out why."
"What about you?" you asked, doing your best to meet her eyes.
"What about me?"
"Is there anything you want me to do?" You desperately hoped she wouldn't ask for something you didn't know about. You were nervous enough as it was.
Casey looked at you intently, a smile creeping at the corner of her mouth. "I want you," she started, her fingers carefully lifting your shirt up and over your head and shimmying you out of your pants, "to do whatever I tell you to do." She unhooked her bra and threw it aside, now clad in nothing but her underwear. "Got it?"
You wiped actual drool off your mouth and nodded vigorously.
"Now lay down," Casey commanded.
You were more than happy to oblige. Casey straddled your lap and leaned down to kiss you deeply, pressing her body against yours. Your heart beat wildly as she swirled her tongue into your mouth, grinding her hips into you. She bit your lip and you let out a noise that was somewhere between a moan and a cry. She smiled as she moved her way down your throat, then across your collarbone, alternating kisses and bite marks in no particular pattern, so that every time her teeth took you by surprise.
Your hands lay limply at your side. You felt like you should touch her, you wanted to touch her, but you didn't know how. It still felt like you'd be caught, like Casey would suddenly decide she didn't want you touching her and you would be ashamed of yourself.
"Hey," Casey said, low against your chest, as if she'd read your mind. "You're allowed to touch me, you know."
"Are you sure?" you asked.
"Y/N," she said, kneading your breasts in her hands, "I'm literally using your tits as a sandwich for my face. Just fucking touch me."
You gingerly rested your hands at the small of her back, taken aback by the feeling of her hips pushing into you again and again.
"Holy shit, Case," you breathed, gasping for air as her tongue circled first one nipple and then the next. She let one go with a pop and looked up at you.
"I'm just getting started," she said, smirking. Casey kissed her way down your body. She took her time at your chest, relishing the way your back arched to meet her. She ended at your inner thighs, planting kisses closer and closer to your center.
You were shaking. You had never felt less in control in your life, and it was both terrifying and exhilarating.
"You ready?" Casey asked, breath hot against your folds.
You nodded, running a hand through her red hair. She looked up at you, and you pushed a loose strand out of her face.
"I need a verbal yes."
"Yes," you nearly begged. "God, yes."
If you'd been having a good time before, you were out of your mind now as Casey licked her way through your folds and pressed the flat of her tongue against your clit.
"Holy shit," you exclaimed, groaning as your hips bucked involuntarily. "Oh my god, Case." She didn't look up, too focused on her work. But she reached out to place a hand on your heaving chest and you grabbed it and didn't let go.
You had masturbated before. You had orgasmed. But it was not like this. The others had been like a sparkler. This was the Fourth of July. Your whole body tingled and heaved and surged toward climax, and you were riding it like a sailboat on the ocean.
You didn't notice your hand on the back of Casey's head, pushing her harder and harder into your throbbing clit. You didn't notice your hips bucking faster and faster, your vulva wet and swollen and shivering. But Casey sure did. She let out a low moan, her voice vibrating against you as she continued to lick.
You felt yourself climbing up and up and up, your breath hitching, your body clenching, preparing for release. You squirmed against Casey, chasing the high you could feel was so, so close.
Casey felt it, too. She wrapped her arms around your legs to hold you steady, pressing harder and faster with her tongue. "That's it sweetheart," she said, vibrating into you. "Come for me."
That was all you needed. Your pleasure washed over you in waves, and you held onto Casey's head and hand for dear life. Your breath came in gasps and left in moans as you rode out your high, Casey's mouth guiding you through it. She lapped and lapped as your orgasm dissipated, making sure she didn't miss one single bit.
When you finally came down, shaky and trembling, you noticed the mess of Casey's hair and the marks your fingernails had left on her hand. You started to apologize, but you were met with Casey's lips against yours, your head held gently in her hands.
"You did so good," she said breathlessly, burying your neck and face in kisses. "Such..." She kissed your eyelids. "A good..." Your forehead. "Girl," she finished, kissing you deeply. You could taste yourself on her tongue and it drove you wild.
"How do you feel?" she asked, laying down beside you and running a hand through your hair.
"So fucking good. God, Casey," you said, turning to face her. "I get the hype now."
She laughed, low and sweet. "Well, I'm honored to show you the ropes."
You looked at her and bit your cheek.
"What?" she asked, propping herself up on her elbow.
"Can there be more ropes tonight?"
Casey's eyes lit up. "There can always be more ropes."
You sat up, brows furrowed, studying Casey.
She chuckled and ran a finger over your eyebrows. "What are you thinking?"
"I'm thinking," you said, leaning over her, "that I want to do you now."
Casey bit her lip and scanned your body. "Oh, fuck."
"Good oh, fuck or bad oh, fuck?"
"Good, so good," Casey said, pulling you down for a kiss.
"I don't know what I'm doing though, so you'll have to tell me what to do."
Casey snapped up and threw a pillow to. the floor. She pointed to it and said, "On your knees."
You rolled out of bed and did as you were told, placing the pillow under your knees and situating yourself on the floor in front of the bed. Casey sidled up to the edge and let her legs hang off so that you were positioned right in between them. She ran a hand through your hair, her face flushed.
"Fuck, you look pretty like that," she said, breathing in sharply.
"Now what?" you asked.
"Just start with what feels right," Casey said, holding your face in her hands. "I'll help."
"Got it," you said, then shrugged and gave her a thumbs up, which made her giggle. You loved her laugh.
You put your hand around the back of her neck and pulled her into a kiss. You kissed her forehead, her eyelids, her nose. You kissed the space under her chin, the place where her neck met her collarbone, the soft rise of her breasts. Your stomach fluttered as Casey continued to run her hands through your hair, making small noises of pleasure as you made your way down her body.
You kissed her hips, her legs, the backs of her knees, and when you made your way to the inside of her thighs, you found her underwear soaked through, her hips already pushing toward you.
You stared at the underwear. You knew what was next, but you were afraid to start, afraid you'd do it wrong. This was foreign territory, an alien landscape. You wished you'd read an instruction manual.
Casey stifled a laugh and you looked up at her. "What?" you said, only a little terse.
She burst out laughing. "You just look like you're trying to solve a puzzle!"
"Well, it kind of is!" you cried defensively.
"It's okay if you're not ready," she said, running her thumb across your jawline.
"No," you replied, frustrated. "I'm emotionally ready, I just... feel like I should've taken a class or something."
She giggled and leaned down to kiss your forehead. "Look, there's no pressure, okay? You don't have to be good at it. I got you off. That's the best part for me. This is all just a really, really nice bonus. It's just for fun."
"Just for fun," you repeated, exhaling. You started your ministrations again, moving your way up and down her body until you were sure she was ready again.
Staring at her underwear, you took a deep breath and pulled them down. Casey groaned and unknowingly pushed your head toward her center. Just for fun, just for fun, just for fun, you repeated before diving in, tongue first.
But once you were in, god, you never wanted to leave. It wasn't so much the taste, thought it was intoxicating to know that you were tasting her. It wasn't the landscape of it, though you did very much enjoy exploring every corner. It was the way that your every move, every breath, elicited a response from Casey. It was knowing that when she pushed her hips into you, you brought her to it. That when she moaned, it was you drawing it out of her.
You were only briefly interrupted in your successful exploration by Casey saying, "I want you inside me."
"What?" you said, emerging from her thighs, brought out of the moment.
"Oh my god, don't stop," she scolded, shoving your head back down.
"Sorry," you mumbled into her.
"Start with one finger," Casey explained. "I'll tell you when I want more."
Now that you'd conquered the scariest part, you had no hesitation with your hands. You carefully inserted a finger, and if you hadn't already been on your knees, you'd have been brought to them. The warmth of her, the rhythm, the pulse–it was like you were a part of her, really a part of her.
You moaned into her, slowly starting to pump your finger in and out. You were no anatomy expert, but you'd heard of the g-spot. At the very least, you knew there was a lot going on in there. Since Casey seemed to be enjoying herself, you decided to look around, so to speak. You used your finger–careful to keep a steady rhythm–to explore Casey. All the topography of her. You felt a particularly squishy spot and reached your finger back to press into it.
Casey nearly exploded, shoving your head into her and taking you by surprise. "Jesus, Y/N!" she cried. "More of that!"
You panicked a little. "More fingers or more of that spot!?"
"Both, both," she said. "Just keep going and don't stop!"
You wasted no time getting back to work, continuing the pattern of your tongue against her clit and matching it to the rhythm of your now two fingers, reaching back, back and curling into that spot that made Casey lose it.
Her breath came faster and faster, and you could tell she was losing control. Her hands grasped your hair desperately and her hips rose to meet your tongue with every single thrust of your fingers. You felt her body clench around you, pulsating wildly, and Casey clenched your hair so hard you thought she'd pull it out.
You felt her come before you heard her, the vibrations of her body sending you into a bliss you hadn't even known existed. Her legs shook around you, and you moved forward to support her so she wouldn't fall. She quivered around you, moaning as she ground her hips into you. You waited until she was completely spent before pulling out of her, kissing her thighs and licking her off your fingers.
She laid back on the bed, still breathing heavily, and looked up at you. "What are you doing? Come up here," she motioned. You stood, wobbly and more than a little wet, and climbed into the bed next to her, your stomach doing somersaults as she tangled her arms with yours and kissed you.
"Did I do okay?" you asked.
"Okay!?" She raised her eyebrows. "Either I'm a really good teacher or you're a really fast learner."
"Probably both," you said, grinning with pride.
"Probably," she agreed.
Casey traced the freckles on your shoulder and you drew circles on the back of her hand. You were quiet for a while, but eventually you looked at the clock and saw that it was past midnight.
You propped yourself up on your elbow and looked at her. "So, uh, what's the protocol here?"
"The protocol?" she repeated. "This isn't a courtroom. There's no post-sex protocol."
"No, but..." You bit your lip.
"Spit it out," Casey said.
"I'm afraid I'll sound stupid."
"You've already sounded stupid at least five times today. What's one more?"
You glared at her briefly, then continued. "Well, I want to take a shower because I feel sweaty and sticky, and I don't like that. No offense or anything. I like it in the moment, just not... after. And I don't know the protocol! Do I take a shower here or at my house? Do you have an extra towel? I didn't bring a towel. Am I supposed to? Am I supposed to have travel soap? Do I sleep here or at home? If I don't go home, will it be awkward in the morning?"
By now, you were just spiraling, but you couldn't stop yourself. "What if you tell me I can stay and then I do because I want to spend more time with you, but really you were just being polite and you're tired of me. And then I do that every time, so you get really, really tired of me and want to break up? Or what if–"
"Jesus, Y/N," Casey said, planting a kiss on your lips to quiet you. "I want you to stay. And I think you know me well enough to know that I don't say things I don't mean."
"Promise?" you asked, twirling your fingers.
"Promise. Now for the other stuff..."
Casey pulled herself out of bed and you immediately missed her body next to yours. She walked to the closet, stark naked, and rummaged around. You hated yourself a little bit for it, but you couldn't keep your eyes off her ass. You were still reeling that she'd let you fuck her. And she'd enjoyed it.
"Are you staring at my ass?" she accused, smirking as she interrupted your reverie.
Your face flushed. "No..." you said, averting your eyes.
Casey threw a clean towel at you and draped another over her shoulder. "Come on. Let's clean you up."
You leapt off the bed and followed. After tonight, you'd follow her anywhere.

Drunken Crafts (Stucky x Reader)
It was a painfully average day in your house, Steve and Bucky off at Avengers headquarters doing god knows what while you lounged around. You had already cleaned the whole house to entertain yourself: the vacuuming was done, the bathrooms were spotless, all of the laundry and dishes were clean and put away. You had even started dinner, cooking a beef stew with vegetables in the pressure cooker.
What else, truly, was there to do?
You felt like Rapunzel in the beginning of Tangled–you had already read a book this morning, you took a shower, you even clipped the cat’s claws!
You pattered around the house, convinced nothing would entertain you at this point, until your eyes landed on Bucky’s bottle of Tennessee Whiskey.
You glanced back and forth, almost nervous to be caught sauntering over to the bottle. You shyly took it and brought it over to the kitchen, where you mixed it with some sweet tea you had made earlier.
You took a sip and sighed happily, bringing both the bottle and the tea to the living room where you planned on watching some youtube.
As the drink became more empty, new ideas sprung into your head. You decided to get out all of your crafting tools, deciding on making both Bucky and Steve a masterpiece. After another drink or two, you couldn't remember, you abandoned the crafts and decided hey, what better time than now to bake some cookies? It'd be a fun dessert after having your stew.
With that, you skipped off to the kitchen, drink in hand, to bake. At one point you decided to take off your pants, after all, they weren't your sweats and you didn't want to dirty them. The same thought did not occur about the XXL Avengers logo tee you had on.
You turned on your favorite happy music, bouncing around eating raw cookie dough from the wooden mixing spoon.
The music was so loud that you didn't hear Bucky and Steve enter. You were too distracted making cookies that you forgot you not only had music on, but youtube as well, and a mess of crafts in the living room.
Steve confusingly walked up the stairs as Bucky took off his shoes, unsure of why there was so much loud noise throughout the house.
“Beautiful?” He called, and his eyes softened immediately at the sight of you.
He stopped in his footsteps, leading Bucky to catch up and hastily go “Is everything okay, Stevie?”
Steve pointed at you, dancing obnoxiously with cookie batter in your hands, and Bucky sighed in adoration, before noticing that you had no pants on.
He practically bolted up the rest of the stairs, and you caught his eye as he fully entered the kitchen with a “Buck!!”
“What're you doing honey?” He asked, looking around the floor of the apartment to see your mess.
“Baking cookies!!” You happily answered, swaying back and forth with a giggle.
Before Bucky could comment Steve brought his attention. “Looks like someone got to your liquid gold, honey.” He held up the now empty whiskey bottle.
Bucky stared at the bottle with wide eyes, then turned back to you.
“Is something wrong?” You laughed, throwing your cookies in the oven (quite literally-you didn't realize how aggressive you were being).
Bucky smiled along with Steve, and grabbed you from behind. “Nothing, we just love you.”
“I love you both too!!” You said with a hiccup, then you remembered. “Oh wait !! I have a gift for you two!!”
You ran off to the living room, while Steve turned off the very loud music. They both followed you in, eyes nearly bulging out of their heads at the mess you made.
You didn't notice their look, instead holding up a large piece of card stock full of collage, stickers, and drawings. It said “DrAwINg fOr My SoULmaTeS” in letters from various magazines.
It was frankly a mess and didn't make any sense, but Steve took it in his hands anyway. Him and Bucky were silent.
You started tearing up. “You hate it!!”
Bucky rushed to your side, cooing. “No, no, darling. It's beautiful.”
“This is fridge worthy.” Steve announced, and you smiled giddily.
With a loud ding! your attention was immediately averted, deciding to shout (in Bucky’s ear none the less) “MY STEW!!”
You tried to run to the kitchen but Bucky caught you. “Why don't you let Stevie and I worry about dinner. You relax.”
You pouted, not thrilled with this decision that both of your boys seemed set on.
By the time they came back to you with a dinner plate in hand you were passed out on the couch, drooling all over the couch pillow. Bucky put your plate in the fridge and Steve picked you up, cautiously bringing you to the bedroom.
You blabbered on about something in your drunken sleep haze, repeatedly telling Steve “I love you, I love Bucky, You guys are my favorite.” and so on.
“I know darling,” Steve smiled. “We love you too.”
How did you get so lucky?
