Babel - R.F. Kuang ★★★★★ one of the greatest and most masterfully written books i've ever read in my entire life oh my god i will recommend this to everyone from now until the end of time!!!!

Yellowface - R.F. Kuang ★★★★½ never hated a main character more oh my godddddd what an infuriating read (the half star off is bc i didn't love the ending but like the ending is kinda the point so like i get it but I DON'T LIKE IT)

In A Holidaze - Christina Lauren ★★★★ went into this being like "lol i already know exactly how this book is gonna go!" and then somewhere in the earlier chapters Something Happened that made me gasp in shock like what the HELLLLL. finished this in like 2 days i NEEDED to know what happened next

People We Meet On Vacation - Emily Henry ★★★★★ book lovers is my favorite eh book buuuut this is such a close second!!!!! (friends to lovers is my favorite silly little book trope so like. this was written for me. i was destined to love this)

Daisy Haites: The Great Undoing - Jessa Hastings ★★★★ the second half of this > the first half (god one specific main part of this book was painful to read like i knew exactly where it was gonna go and UGH. IT HURTTTTT)

A Court Of Silver Flames - Sarah J. Maas ★★★★★ favorite book of the entire series but i can't stop thinking about this one critique i saw online about the plot that's like...so true....so true....i do agree....but also....love these characters...so is this book perfect? NO do i adore it? YES

Only When It's Us - Chloe Liese ★½ hated this so much oh my god it made me so mad i was so annoyed for a majority of it...only gave it the stars i did bc of the relationship between the main character and her mom...other than that BOY WAS THIS A PAINFUL READ

Magnolia Parks: Into The Dark - Jessa Hastings ★★★★★ i love and adore (and deeply relate to) this like oh my god this book has my whole heart i love these characters i love their growth i love their flaws I!!!! LOVE!!!! THEM!!!!!!

Heartstopper Volume 5 - Alice Oseman ★★★★ immediately decided this was my fav of the series and i can't wait to see it play out on the show in the future!!!

The Bodyguard - Katherine Center ★★★★½ this is sooooooo miss congeniality x every real person fanfic i read when i was a teen (affectionate). i was blushing i was giggling i was kicking my feet this was sooooooooo so so so romcom ugh i loved every second of it and i want (NEED) a movie/tv adaptation so baddddd

Always Only You - Chloe Liese ★½ i thought "ok i hated the first book in this insanely long series but let me give the second one a try" NOPE. SHOULDN'T HAVE. MIGHT'VE HATED IT EVEN MORE THAN THE FIRST ONE. despite loving the characters the writing was so terrible to me that i had to give up (and i was rly looking forward to the book in the future about two rival soccer players who fall in love but I SIMPLY CANNOT READ ALL OF THESE TO GET THERE. I GIVE UP)

From Blood And Ash - Jennifer L. Armentrout ★★★★ was this the most predictable book I've probably ever read? yes. was it an insanely fun and quick read? ALSO YES. idc this was surprisingly enjoyable and sooooo silly at times (was rolling my eyes sm and was screaming "HOW HAVE YOU NOT FIGURED THIS OUT YET" fjdjfjd)

The Winter of the Witch - Katherine Arden ★★★★★ read the first book of this trilogy in 2022, the second in 2023, and this one FINALLY in 2024...what a journey it has been!!!!! The action!!!! The character relationships!!!! The heartbreak!!!! What a wonderful conclusion. Literally loved every second!!!

Throne Of Glass - Sarah J. Maas ★★★★½ actually so confused bc i saw reviews saying how difficult it is to get into this series/that they find the first book (so, this one) boring???? I WAS ENTHRALLED. OBSESSED. WANTED TO BE READING IT 24/7. CAN'T WAIT TO START BOOK 2 AHHHHH (which will take a while bc my brother has to read it first and he is a slower reader than me 😀)

A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire - Jennifer L. Armentrout ★★½ wtf happened between the first book and this one??? how did it get so much worse???? my god was this a whole lot of NOTHING. full of confusing world building/lore and oh my god the conversations between characters went in circles. NOT A FUN READ (except for the very end which was a little redeeming lol)

Lovelight Farms - B.K. Borison ★★★★★ what more could i want in a book liiiike this literally has everything i love about a romance book put into one beautiful wonderful heartwarming cozy endearing story (i should've read this during christmastime)(literally it haunts me that i didn't read it in december last year)(WHAT A MISSED OPPORTUNITY)

Mile High - Liz Tomforde ★★ cringed a lot. some parts were uncomfortable to read. had one of my least favorite book "tropes". the plot motivation made no sense. didn't enjoy.

The Right Move - Liz Tomforde ★★★★½ far from perfect and won't be for everyone but when i say i loved pretty much everything about this!!!! i mean it!!!!!! so glad i gave this a shot despite not loving the first book!!!!!!!!! i adored this so much i made a spotify playlist like...i'm obsessed

Caught Up - Liz Tomforde ★★★★½ that feeling when you're reading a book you love so much you almost don't want it to end so you start reading slower was FELT as i read this. and MAYBE it made me tear up A LITTLE.

Bride - Ali Hazelwood ★★★★ super fun except i'm not used to reading supernatural/fantasy books that take place in the modern day like wdym you're on a computer or using a cellphone but also vampires and werewolves existfjenfjfb

Wildfire - Hannah Grace ★★ what a waste of time i wish i'd never read it oh my god.

One Italian Summer - Rebecca Serle ★★★★★ reading a story about dealing with the grief of a parent dying while dealing with the grief of your own parent dying 😀 ouch ouch ouch pain pain pain my thoughts in book form i sobbed every chapter and i'm in awe of what this book now means to me

Armentrout ★ absolutely 1000% done with this series....how do you make the first 500 pages of a 600 page book boring??? and then make the last 100 filled with everything i wanted from the rest of the book??? I AM: DONE (will be reading the synopses of the rest of the books so i know what happens but THAT'S IT)

Done and Dusted - Lyla Sage ★★★★ when i say this was a quick read i! mean! it! (no literally i started it on april 3rd and finished it april 4th i was hoooooked)

Swift and Saddled - Lyla Sage ★★★★ the book mentioned taylor swift and bake off (two of my favorite things) of COURSE i enjoyed it (ok the end annoyed me a little but that's a me specific thing i don't think it was a bad ending!)

Ahhhhh! Oh my goodness, I am SO glad you woke up and decided today was the day! Seeing this message in my inbox gave me all the fuzzies and happy feelings🥺💕! But I also completely get it; there are so many cool people in this space that I want to send asks to, but I am also shy and have yet to. This may be the thing that encourages me to do so!

As for your first question, I actually found out about the JayTim ship in kind of a roundabout way. I've been a DC fan for many years (particularly the animated movies and shows) but never really thought more about the other universe-wide ships than a casual "oh, that's nice" for most of them. But then, a few years ago, I came across a stunning fanart that was actually JayDick (If you can believe it!!), and my thoughts were, "OH! That's nice!!👀" Insert many Google searches later, a foray into Tumblr, and my first experience getting into Fandom spaces, and that's where I found a fanart for JayTim, and let's say my mind just spasmed "ahdfdfdsfsdf," and I was sold.

As for "what" exactly sold me on their dynamic? It's funny because I am not usually an enemies-to-lovers fan (friends-to-lovers is much more my jam). But for Tim and Jason?? It just works. I also am a sucker for angst, and pining, and good old fashion snarky banter. But honestly? I think what really got me was the absolute "ride or die" way that they care about each other when depicted in fandom and even platonically in canon. I know "ride or die" could be applied to a lot of ships, but I think that these two would go to far more extraordinary lengths to protect each other than, say, some other characters (particularly those of whom are hindered by their moral code). Both of these characters are consistently shown to be greyer than not, but just go about it in completely different ways. I've always been more attached to gray characters in fiction, so when there are TWO of them? It's just the chef's kiss. TL;DR They are both just MESSY and yet competent AF and I love it.

But even with my attachment to them, I never considered writing fanfiction! I've only ever written original stories. I don't even know why I didn't consider it because I've loved reading fanfiction since I was as old enough to navigate a computer (a LONG time😅). But suddenly, a little over a year ago, I was re-watching all of Young Justice while simultaneously watching the new season, and BAM! Two very specific scenes came up in my head (One that has already been written about in Part 1 and another that has yet to be shown in Part 2), and I could just Not. Stop. Thinking. About. It. I'm serious. Those two scenes kept me awake at night, the brain rot was all consuming, and I got that feeling that all writers have felt a time or two where if they didn't jot it down in that moment, they'd just implode!!

So, of course my totally normal person response was to immediately sign up for AO3, outline an entire ~40-chapter story around those two scenes right down to the nitty-gritty details, and start uploading.

100K words later and here we are! The rest was history!!! I know this is probably WAY longer than you ever anticipated 🤣 but THANK YOU for asking me! I hope I didn't scare you away with the essay. I have just loved these characters, the JayTim fandom, and my first experience writing fanfiction so much, and all it takes is a little question for me to go on a gush about it!!

IwaOi fanfic recs: my top 10

Okay so I have like so many wips that I keep looking at and then I like don’t? do? them? It’s fine :’))))) But instead of me finishing those, here’s my top 10 picks for IwaOi! This will probably become a series for the ships I like, but we’ll see LOL. Usually when I rec fics, it’s just any that I’ve read and enjoyed, but these are the ones I keep coming back to! Also I made this cause the IwaOi ship has SO many fics and if I had to do a WHOLE fic rec list, I would never finish (ie. the sakuatsu draft ahahaha).

1. The Loyalty of a Traitor by DeathBelle (E) 76.9k /cp/ ok so does me liking this fic make me basic cause I feel basic LOL. I really love mafia fics, and the way the story line developed was SO good, like IN LOVE with this story. This is a fic where you should read WARNINGS, TAGS, and SUMMARY before diving in, but if the length scares you, don’t be. It’s so easy to fall in and get lost in the writing!

2. Conquering the Great King by SuggestiveScribe (E) 105.6k /cp/ I LOVE THIS SERIES AHHHHHHHHH. Honestly I know the 105.6k word count is SCARY I UNDERSTAND BUT it is SO worth it. This is the first fic of the series and it's mainly IWAOI, but there are other ships too so if IWAOI isn't your thing, check for the other ships :) Also if you don't mind smut (cause it is explicit for a reason LOL) then please I beg of you to read the whole series!!!!!!! I love love love this one and it really got me invested in the whole fanfic thing LOL.

3. Shiver by Yuu_chi (T) 16.7k // THIS UGH. I’ve BEEN in LOVE with this fic for like five-ever omg. It’s SO good and the character portrayal and plot progression in this is AMAZING. Whenever I come across it, I always reread it cause it’s just so worth it! (Also that paragraph about Iwa trash talking himself made me laugh OMG.)

4. the courtship ritual of the hercules beetle by kittebasu (chanyeol) (T) 66.3k /cp/ again, basic? Probably LOL but it’s good so I have no shame ;) Again, pls don’t let the word count scare you (cause it scared me LOL), you get really into it after like 2 paragraphs, so just make sure you have enough time to finish hehe.

5. dyspnea/arrhythmia by carafin (T) 10.8k // I adore medical fics and I also love Iwa being good with kids,,,, (I think it’s very fitting okay? And the pokemon cameo was great) This was such a great fic and Iwa + Suga being friends is SO CUTE (crying into his orange juice, I want to be). I REALLY loved this fic, and the ending was *chef’s kiss*!!!! (STAN PAEDS IWA)

6. Build A Temple In Me by Authoress (T) 39.7k // God Oikawa and idgaf Iwa is such a good combination. UGH. I loved the plot of this fic and the conflict was done SO WELL. I also loved how Iwa kept coming back and HIS GRANDMA IS THE BEST <33333 But also their friendship was SO CUTE (THE SONG GUYS THE SONG) and poor Kyoutani :( (There’s also a spicy second fic you should read hehe!)

7. i'm gonna be the man who comes back home to you by baekuugo (insxouts) (M) 22.5k // UGH SINGLE DAD IWA? Yes please!!! I really love the plot in this one and sassy Kageyama + Hinata + Yachi is such a cute friendship! Also a proud stan of the IwaOi + SugaDai friendship agenda,,,, I love them. (Beware some spice is included aka smut LOL)

8. to be first, to be best by kittebasu (chanyeol) (T) 26.4k /cp/ okay I think I've read this fic like 3 times already (4 now cause I reread it for this list and I remember why I love this fic AGAIN LOL OOPS), but the plot never sticks with me LOL. Not cause it's a bad fic, but because I have a crap memory. Regardless, I know it's a good fic because like I said I managed to re-read on 2 3 separate occasions so yea. (it’s a really cute fic and I really enjoyed the ending, esp the extra! Also stupid, oblivious iwa is bae)

9. silver tongue by ohhotlamb (E) 10.3k // OKAY THIS WAS FUNNY. Like the betrayal and such made me laugh and it was embarrassing. All the emotions in one LMFAO. And like everyone in this fic and the secret operation? OMG. Anyway, there’s a second fic and ITS PRETTY MUCH GOLD AS WELL so like go read them both (RIP pizza party) :D (SMUT ALERT AHAHA)

10. love me like you do by crossbelladonna (T) 100.5k // this fic was SUCH a rollercoaster omg. First, the concept itself was great and the execution was flawless and Ushiwaka was ajfnlajsdnf. AND THE ENDING!!!! THE ending omg. And Lev being a car made me laugh LMFAO. And we love f ups AHHHHH. If this made no sense, you’re right,,, it didn’t,,, so you should go read it so it does HAHAHA.

In hindsight, this 10 limit made me cry because I had like 20 of them and I had to sift through them but even then the 20 was from a larger pile which was in a larger pile.... TLDR: I wanted to put more fics :’))))) But honestly, the ranking of these are pretty loose and like when I say that I mean you could literally just randomize the numbers and I would accept it LOL. The way I might just end up making a pt 2 of IwaOi cause as I was making this list, I kept rereading all the fics (which is why it took so long to come out hahahahahahha) and I fell back in love with IwaOi (like I was ever not lost in IwaOi hell)...... But yea these are my “top 10″ theoretically (misinterpret that as you will as I cry over the fics I couldn’t/didn’t include).

and to answer your question - mmmm, honestly, i have no idea how many chapters bands will be, but i do know it’ll be my longest series because the build up was a little longer than my other fics. i jot down general ideas for chapters and go from there, sometimes i add a little more or make it less. i would say its def gonna be more than 15 chapters total. maybe 20ish?

Well, I have to say I thought Uneven Days would be getting a lot of attention, seeing as, yknow, Douxie dying at the end of Wizards would have been one hell of a turn. But, the more I think about that one, the more I realize it’s really pretty dark and downright painful to read even for me, so I can understand why it wasn’t bigger. At the same time, I still regard it as one of my better heavy-angst pieces because of how I was able to make it concise but impactful.

...is your funniest: 

Hmm! I think that I tend to keep a balance of humor, fluff, and angst in my writing (and personally, I think that’s what makes it so appealing to me to keep writing) but Witch Hazel was by far one of the more fluffy and just all around funnier ones. I mean, really, a stinky moppet!Douxie who is overjoyed to be running simple errands for his master, sassy Zoe who doesn’t know what to think of this tall, cute, albeit dorky guy, immediately followed up by a time skip to the future where Zoe is soft about sweet Douxie and the roles are sort of reversed. It’s just so stinking cute (pun fully intended.)

...is your darkest/angstiest: 

Well, previously mentioned Uneven Days probably has to take the cake on that one, simply because of how dark it is. Originally, Fundamental Experiences was going to be a lot heavier. I had actually considered having him accidentally kill his father, and had touched on going more in-depth on the abuse suffered. But...I have an idea to incorporate a quite uncomfortable moment where he sees his father for the last time into that series somewhere...

...is your absolute favorite: 

Why on Earth would you make me choose?!?!? Not to mention, my perception of good or not is heavily influenced by reactions and comments, lol. If I had to pin down ONE, I would maybe say that at the moment, chapter 8, “Did You Know” of Saudade is my favorite. In fact, that whole work is my baby. I really enjoyed making them hurt over the course of 25k words, and then of course, writing out my own pining and yearning into these characters I’ve grown to love so much, well, that was cathartic. I think it’s what finally pushed me over the edge of getting over a semi-recent breakup and a heartache for a crush that was never going to go anywhere(the crush in question once sang me all eight and a half minutes of American Pie by Don McLean at work and my obsession with McLean songs took off from there). I self-project an unhealthy amount, but it leaves my writing astonishingly real.

...is your least favorite: 

Yeesh. Well, I wrote Not Just Happenstance for a “The Dragon Prince” AU thing in a contest-type of thing that was going for a while, and it just felt so rushed and cringey. And this work is what led me to realize I really don’t like writing heavily canon-divergent AUs where just about everything is changed. AUs in general are not my cup of tea, but recently I’ve found a few I really vibe with, but I’m only going to write ones with minor changes. I’m down with reading a few here and there, however.

...was the easiest to write:

Hmm. I think mostly because of it’s simplicity and short-and-sweet style, A Friendship of A Thousand Lifetimes. It was one of my earlier pieces posted, back when I thought I’d get away with uploading under 1k pieces to that series. It came pretty naturally to me, and it was actually a little inspired by HTTYD in the trap aspect.

...was the hardest to write: 

There’s a couple of answers to this question. Emotionally speaking, Uneven Days killed me. I had to take crying breaks to write it. And when I finished it, I wasn’t even relieved, I just felt...numb. But logistically speaking, I’ve done wayyyyy too much research on dancing in the 12th century for one of my WIP Zouxie week fics, lol, for it to only be a super minor aspect. I did a lot of research on that one for acceptable words to use, what clothing would have looked like, and so on, and then I only used a tiny bit of that info in the work. I really struggled to pair it own, too, and it’s almost deserving of it’s own mini-series. If you want the sequel to it, you’ll have to comment requesting it when it goes up Nov. 2nd!

I have a couple answers to this one. In regards to fluff:

“Well,” he starts, running a thumb down her cheek and to her jaw. “Twice in nine hundred years is nothing. I was thinking I’d like to make up for some lost time.”

“I wouldn’t mind that at all,” Zoe answers. She meets his lips with a grin.

I mean, that one is just so freaking flirty and adorable, it makes me feel all AHHHHH on the inside. If not for knowing it’s better unwritten (and that I just,,, I mean,, I would write a scene with them making out but I just don’t know if I should yknow. if you think I should, well, by all means leave a comment here and consider it done) I would have delved into that more lol. I am soft for that sort of super sappy flirting. Saudade, Chapter 8.

In terms of humor? I LOVED writing that email interaction/skype call into my Saudade chapters. I just thought it was so freaking funny and fun to write, not to mention there’s so many lines that are gold in there, I can’t just pick one.

But in regards to the angst and pain??

Archibald feels numb and senseless to even the warmth of the sun on his fur. It doesn’t matter anymore. Nothing does. Everything has been taken away from him. Archie feels like a celestial body that had orbited a star all it’s life, only to have it suddenly wrenched away from him. He’s now purposeless. Directionless. The gravity is gone and there is nothing to keep him securely in place. 

This one is from Uneven Days again, and whoooo boy does it hurt. I think I managed to capture Archie’s own perception of himself in regards to Douxie. Without Doux, Archie doesn’t know who he is anymore. And that in itself is a powerful thing.

...have you re-read the most:

I’m not sure. Just for perspective, I reread my fics nearly every time someone comments so I can get a feeling for it again, lol. Though, I have only reread Uneven Days twice. Once to edit, and once after posting and that is all. But I think I’ve reread chap 8 of Saudade over two dozen times. I worked so hard to get that one just right. It wasn’t difficult, it was just that I seriously wanted it to be perfect.

...would you recommend to someone reading your work for the first time: 

Start with Saudade! It will always be the best place to start, and actually, if you read along with my series updates, they weave together quite well. If you really wanted, you could read A Wizard’s Beginnings first simply because of the chronological order, but it’s not necessary.

...are you most proud of: 

Saudade will always be my magnum opus of fics that I’ve written for ToA. It has everything in it and more. But really? A Sinking Memory is by far the best piece I’ve written for ToA. If you haven’t already, please go read this. There is so much I could go into detail about the ways I tied that whole work together. And in fact, I plan to make a post talking about that because so help me Powers that Be, I am not letting it go under-appreciated. (because holy shit the symbolism and raw fucking emotion in there is WILD)

HEAT WAVE RE-WATCH - April 20th (2020)

It took Brendan a minute to figure out how to add Majandra to the live feed.

She was wearing a sickass robe. Said robe was discussed like halfway the feed.

They were both drinking. Brendan: red wine and vodka. Majanda: who knows (I think it was also wine. I don’t remember if she said it, though)

Did they toast each other you ask? They sure did. Glasses clinked the screens; I shit you not

Majandra said she wanted to watch the episode beforehand, to prepare herself.

She did. But only the beginning because she could not get through the first scene due to embarrassment.

On the live feed we saw her embarrassment fist hand. Brendan was also feeling weird about it.

She kept looking away, talking to distract herself.

He said the reason why he kept talking while the scene was on, was so he could distract himself from what was happening on the screen as well.

They discussed Majandra’s sweeping abilities -or lack thereof- and Brendan’s mom being on set while they filmed that make-out scene at the crashdown.

They were dating while they filmed that ep. They were on the early stages of ‘courting’ as Majandra put it, so Brendan’s mom being on set did make her nervous.

Brendan said they should not have been making out on the floor of the diner. He said something along the lines of ‘That place if full of cooking grease!’

He shared a little anecdote about how he was on his trailer one day, someone knocks on his door, he opens and ‘oh, majandra delfino is there’

She went to him to rehearse their first kiss. They barely knew each other. Hated each other (she more than him, apparently). And she went and said she needed to see what he kissed llike to prepare herself for the actual scene. So, they would rehearse the kiss scenes. They would make out on his trailer and then film the scenes. Yes, SCENES. As in, MORE THAN ONE. I repeat, this happened MORE THAN ONCE. Majandra claimed she wanted to know what it would be like, so it’d look/ feel good on screen.

Majandra said she now realizes how unprofessional that was, but at the time she didn’t think it was weird. Brendan, on the other hand, thought it was a weird thing to do and still does. Not that she refused to kiss her back then tho…

The hair was a big topic of discussion.

Majandra kept apologizing about hers.

Although they both praised Brendan’s hair.

Brendan said he still has that red shirt from when they’re making out at the eraser room. He said one of his daughters wears it all the time.

Hey, did you guys know the girl playing Vicky Delaney (Kyle’s date at the soap factory) was actually a 40 year-old woman?! Huh. Go figure.

Majandra saying to Brendan that they are now the age the actress is and they don’t look nearly as good. Brendan agreeing.

Majandra said she loved Liz’s voice. That she loved how Shiri would sound different when she played Liz.

The love they got for Diane (Amy Deluca)!!!! Majandra said she was too young to be playing her mom.

Brendan saying how he can now appreciate the grownups scenes and how cool it was that Bill Sadler (Valenti) got to have that storyline with Diane. How he didn’t care about the adult scenes back then because he was kind of a dick and whenever he saw the scenes with the grown-up actors, he’d ask why those scenes were even necessary.

Majandra agreeging. She said that whenever she watched ‘My so-called life’ she would hate the adults scenes because they were boring in her eyes.

They now realize those scenes were actually very important.

THE LOVE FOR COLIN! ♥

Majandra: He looks like a baby! Look at his clothes.

Brendan: He was great. I love this relationship he had with Liz. Maria was the best friend but he was also there…

Majandra: Yeah, it was like a trio.

Brendan: (or was it Majandra who said this?) He was the third sister.

Majandra: But Maria was number one. [laughs]

They discussed the turtle neck. Or, as Brendan put it, the ball of yarn Majandra was wearing.

This was a good hair day for Brendan btw, just in case you were wondering. He confirmed it.

The Stargazer relationship was talked about. They had nothing but love for those two.

Brendan addresses Katie’s PJs

Brendan: Katie was really great.

Majandra made the observation of what a sweet guy Alex was to be having this kind of dream about Isabel, and not something entirely different.

Brendan: He even got a tuxedo.

Majandra: Look at the boombox. Like ‘Say Anything.’

Once again, back to the clothes. Brendan’s t-shirt in the bathroom when he and Max talk about how ‘it has gotten complicated’ (Brendan actually said that line twice when this scene came on), he said he still has that shirt and he had to fight to let them wear it on the episode. Apparently, everyone was against it, he had to convince them. The t-shirt has some horses on it.

Brendan also stole a bunch of clothes and memorabilia, Majandra was not so lucky. She went to get some of Maria’s clothes only to find out it was all given to some producer’s daughter. So, when the show was over, she parked her car, opened the trunk and got whatever she could in there. Ended up getting the clothes the adult actors wore.

The way Jason looks at Liz when they’re dealing with the ‘mating ritual’. Majandra said ‘look at Jasons eyes! Ahhhhh’

The golden top maria wears at the soap factory? Majandra didn’t remember it. BRENDAN DID.

What Majandra remembers is that at this point in time in real life, they were sort of on the outs. Mimicking fiction. As they usually did. They were on and off during the entire series and funnily enough, when the characters were fighting, so were they irl. She said that she believed there was a scene in this ep she remembers which means they were sort of fighting.

They talked about how it was also difficult filming when they were on a fight irl but Maria and Michael were doing great. Those were hard days filming. They would come to set and everyone would have to figure out and read the vibe to see how they were doing. Lol.

Majandra saying how it was kind of unbelievable that Isabel would go for a guy like Alex. That she was so beautiful, she looked like she could be dating a college guy. Also, she praised that Isabel chose Alex, she gave the good guy a chance instead of going for a different type.

When they got to the ‘maybe we should have never started this’ Majandra confirmed that they were definitely on the outs irl at this point of the series. She again apologizes for her hair.

Brendan says he was worried about the humidity in this scene because of his hair. He was very protective of his hair. He wouldn’t let anyone touch it. Even today he gets nervous when he goes to get a haircut.

They talked about Valenti’s phone when he’s on a date with Amy. Well, it wasn’t Valenti’s phone, it was the restaurant’s phone but they thought it was Valenti’s cellphone and that he carried it around on his pocked or something. They had a good laugh about it because the phone was huge.

They talked about Majandra’s old phone back in the day. Which was both a cellphone and a walkie. (A nokia, I think they said. It was yellow? I don’t remember the color.)

They could not get through the jail scene. Kept saying ‘when is this gonna end? This jail scene is so long.’ Lol

To be fair, they were right.

They praised Alex for standing up to Valenti. Talked about Liz making the index finger signal as she tells Alex about Max, Michael and Isabel.

Brendan mentions Liz’s crazy eyes in this scene and why Michael was clearly right no to trust her.

Brendan: Look at her, she’s telling him the secret. Knew I couldn’t trust her.

Majandra: Yeah, she’s telling everybody.

Brendan: The bars in the jail. Are they real?

Majandra: What if they started to bend?

[more laughs]

Liz’s roof? All fake. The ladder was short. Not that short though.

Brendan: Yeah, Jason wasn’t on his knees climbing up that ladder.

Majandra: Can you imagine if he was though?

Brendan: Is this their first kiss?

Majandra: It is. I think.

Brendan: He even lifts up her shirt a little! That’s ballsy.

 For the little Q&A

They said they would do the live feed again. Next episode to re-watch would be 285 South (maybe) because that got a lot of votes and they love that episode. Brendan said they should probably do one ep from each season. They talked about B&T. They have a second trailer. They filmed it. (We already knew this. Well…we assumed, but now we know for sure it’s out there.) They are very protective of this new project and getting it done so that’s why they haven’t released the trailer. They are sort of saving it for reasons. They have talked to networks, and continue to work to bring the show to life. There are things they want to keep, easter eggs, like the tobasco bottle, among others, so they are fighting to get those things to stay in the story.

They zoom with Nick and Jason very – and I mean VERY-often. Apparently the four of them are really good friends. They said maybe they could do a live feed with them. And they would also love to have them on B&T, obviously. Actually, they’d love to get as many actors as possible that were on Roswell to join B&T.

They were asked to describe each other in one word. Brendan said the word for Majandra back then wouldn’t be the same as now. They were asked to choose two words to describe each other, one for back then, one for now. Brendan went with ‘Passionate’ and ‘Loyal.’ Majadra said of Brendan he was ‘Blunt’ and now he is ‘LOUD.’ “Crazy, frustrating, agitated, stubborn” were other words to describe each other they used. Majandra said she thought Brendan had a condition, that that was the reason why he talks so loud nowadays. Brendan made sure we all knew that he does not. That’s just the way he talks.

Gags: When Brendan connected for the second video, he had trouble adding Majandra to the live feed (AGAIN) so he grabbed the ipad/tablet/or whatever from where he had it set, to try and work it out. And when Majandra finally appeared on screen, he dropped the ipad/tablet/or whatever to the floor. More specifically to the back of his desk. When he was setting it back on the table, he nearly dropped his glass of wine or flask (?) of vodka. Majandra laughed, he made a panicky funny face.

If I forgot something, I apologize. If remembered something incorrectly (like, who said what) please forgive me, I’m only human. Also, I wrote this down on Monday night after the live feed. I mean, just reading my URL will tell you that these two babies are my OTP for life and the reason that I breath!! I CANNOT STRESS HOW MUCH I ABSOLUTELY ADORE AND WORSHIP THESE PRECIOUS BABIES!! Like, they are just so cute and pure and deserve the entire universe. They are responsible for bringing me into the crazy yet wonderful world of Tumblr and for helping me meet other people on here who are just as invested in their relationship as I am!! And now that they are getting their own TV series - something in could have only dreamed of this time last year - I will have even more content to fangirl over!! Yay!!

Honestly, I can't even put into words how much I love this ship. Firstly, they were actually the first people I ever read about and thought "hmm, I really like this couple, I wonder if there is more content online about them" which then sucked me into the spectacular black hole that is fanart, fanfiction and fangirling. It also helped me to become super close to two of my bestest friends at school. It all started when two of us found out we both shipped Malec, then we got our other friend into it, and have since started a fangirling trio called the Parabatrai!! So when they made the Shadowhunters TV series, well, that was it really. Hooked. For. Life. I really do just adore Malec.

Dylan and Andy from Instinct

Good lord, these two nerds are so CUTE!! They are actually relationship goals; they would to anything for each other, they never properly fight, but when they do, are extremely understanding towards one another, they just want the other to follow their dreams and be happy, and when I watch them, they make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I can't wait for the next season to come out this summer because they are hoping to adopt and I'm gonna cry SO FREAKING MUCH!!

Summer Anime 2019

Minna-san, hisashiburi (Everyone, long time no see)! Genki desu ka (Are you well)? I’m so so so sorry that my anime watch list for this season is so late. I’ve been so busy over June with studying for tests and the beginning of July with AX stuff. BUT there was a huge reason why this post is so late! Okay, story-time...I originally finished writing this post last week. It was a super long post explaining what I have been up to, what I’m watching, what I plan on watching, etc. I was super excited for everyone to read it, but just when I hit the POST button...my screen turned into this:

After a short email exchange with Tumblr, I got everything situated with my account. However, there was a casualty...my post was GONE. It was as if I never wrote it in the first place. T^T I felt so defeated, but I really wanted to get this post up so here I am, almost a month into July, writing my belated summer anime watch list. 

Since Tumblr dinged me on my first attempt at this post, from now on I’ll be providing MAL links for all of the shows I’m checking out for this season. Of course you guys can check them out as well. In fact, please do so!

As for the anime department, I think I’ve been doing well. Granted, Fruits Basket was the only show I was able to keep up with in the spring season, but lately I’ve been revisiting old favorites like Ore Monogatari!, Recovery of an MMO Junkie, Wotakoi, etc. I’ve even checked out and got heavily invested into shows from previous seasons I wasn’t even following at the time: Dororo and Kimetsu no Yaiba. Either way, I’ve been enjoying my fill of anime and I’m so excited to share what I’m watching for the SUMMER ANIME SEASON!!!

YEESSSS MY GAY MUSICAL BABIES ARE BACK! I was so happy and excited when I heard there was going to be a 3rd season for this series. I’ve already watched the first 3 episodes on Crunchyroll and I’m so happy I can get my weekly dose of musical ikemen once again! XD I think this is going to be the last season so I’m excited to see how it all ends. 

- Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san 2

OH MY GOD I was so happy when I saw the notification on MAL. I knew Takagi-san was going to get a second season but I had no idea that it was going to release this soon! I loved the first season and enjoyed the adorable interactions between these two. If you haven’t seen the first season yet, I recommend giving this a watch, especially if you love Yuki Kaji!

- Ensemble Stars!

If you didn’t know, I am male idol anime trash (Uta Pri, IDOLISH7). When I read the premise and saw the cast list I put this on my watch list. Then, I saw the PV for the first time on a jumbo screen in the Exhibit Hall at this year’s AX. I knew right then and there that this show was up my ally. I’m looking forward to starting this!

I watched the first 2 episodes on Crunchyroll and I was not disappointed! I really recommend this show...especially for fellow Fujoshis/Fudanshis. hehehehehehe

AHHHHH~! Okay, I originally put this on my watch list on a whim. But I literally DIED of cuteness when I watched the first 3 episodes!!! This show gives me intense Gakuen Babysitter vibes so I really recommend those who loved that show to give this a try. WARNING: gaining cavities from all of the sweet moments in this show are UNAVOIDABLE!

What can I say, I am LOVING this show and I’m excited to see the rest of the manga animated. I’ve mentioned this before but this series is very dear to me and while I love the original 2001 anime series, everything that TMS and Takaya-sensei have done with the re-adaption is nothing short from perfection. I’m just so happy that his series is getting the anime adaption it deserves.

After watching (and loving) Dororo and seeing a whole bunch of fan art and cosplays for this show at AX, my interest in this show increased. Once I checked out the show on MAL and watched the PV, I knew that I had to give this show a try. I’ve already watched the first 2 episodes and I am loving it so far! The animation is gorgeous and the story is so interesting! I’m excited to watch the rest and bug my other anime friends to watch this! XD

Makoto Shinkai (aka director of the amazing and beautiful Your Name) is back with another film. I just watched the PV and so far I’m liking what I’m seeing. The animation is gorgeous and the band Radwimps is back for the music. I hope I can watch this either online or in theaters! 

Yosh! All done! Again, I’m really sorry for posting this list so late. I promise the next one will be posted on time. This summer has been so crazy. There’s been major ups and downs in the real world and in my personal life. I was so heartbroken to hear about what happened to KyoAni and its staff. I hope they will take the time to recover from this horrible tragedy.

Re-reading ACOWAR (spoilers)

The beginning is a little more boring than I remember it

Love the Jurian bacon line - iconic

When Elain asks Mor if she is a seer, Mor used her powers to tell her it is true. Finally some sort of detail of Mor’s power

My Nessian heart can’t take it when Cassian talked about how he felt that he failed Nesta and broke his promise to her in Hybern

Still think that the lake guy that keeps Vassa prisoner is the Bone Carver’s brother. It’s a popular theory as far as I know

I feel like my dislike of Elain must have grown exponentially in ACOFAS because I still feel bad for here. Her life got completely uprooted. But she still does not deserve Azriel or Lucien. 

Lucien ughhhhh - I just want him to be happy. He deserves it and my heart breaks for him every time he tries to connect with Elain but it just doesn’t work out.

Feyre is starting to annoy me a lot here. Like calm down, we get it. You’re powerful, let’s not get cocky. Especially during Rhys’ first encounter with the King of Hybern at Adriata. She was just chanting kill him. Yes, Feyre, Rhys will kill him but he’s has to strategize first.

When Cassian is just staring at Nesta when she announces that she’s going to the High Lord’s meeting ahhhhh I feel like her pacing around, worrying if he’s safe during the Battle of Adriata proves that they’re mates

Mor annoys me so much; her whole character in this book is ruined for me - why does she feel the need to get in the middle of Nesta and Cassian’s relationship? It’s not the same as Cassian being in the middle of Mor/Azriel - Nesta and Cassian actually reciprocate feelings for each other and it’s obvious. Also, Mor being a lesbian still feels very out of place for me, I saw no hint of it. It just makes me sad because Mor could have been a great character

Elain Elain Elain. I just want her to be stronger.

The whole rescuing Elain chapter (chapter 65) is s good. Ugh I feel like I cried even more the second time when I read about Tamlin helping Feyre and HIM SENDING THAT WIND TO HELP HER FLY. My heart couldn’t take it. I think I cried even more here than Chapter 54 of ACOMAF (albeit, they’re different feelings)

While the whole winnowing the humans thing is a nice sentiment - I have to agree with Kallias: it’s a loss of energy. Clearly, you guys are already all depleted of magic, so let’s use more magic to save some humans and risk the entire human (and Fae) race rather than save some energy and potentially save everyone

Nesta screaming for Cassian makes me so nervous. Sarah really makes you believe that Cassian died for a second. 

I need background information on Lucien’s journey, Daddy Archeron’s journey, and obviously Vassa’s deal. 

Cassian and Nesta dying together in front of the King of Hybern makes me so sad. My one regret in life is that we did not have enough time. MY HEART I JUST SHIP THEM SO HARD

Rhys dying is not as traumatizing that second time. It was actually kind of hard to bring up tears so my friend wouldn’t realize that Rhys was not going to stay dead.

Honestly, Tamlin giving that kernel of power to bring Rhys back and telling Feyre to be happy broke my heart more. I know people are like ugh Tamlin don’t tell Feyre what to do. He means it in a I’m letting go and I’m sorry way, come on people

I still stand by my original opinion that I kind of wish someone died. Just to hit the heart a little more. I was honestly cool with Amren sacrificing herself. I like her enough where I would have been heartbroken but not mad at Sarah for killing her off.

Reading ACOWAR a second time, I feel like I like ACOWAR over ACOMAF *gasp*

It was the rustling that had first woken him up from his sleep. The rustling came from downstairs and its sounds made their blissful way up to his room, settling themselves mildly in his ears. Normally he would be more angry about the noises disturbing his slumber, but because his relationship with his fellow sides had grown much, he decided to let his annoyance slide. Although, he was curious as to what was going on.

He listened closely able to pick out each voice directly. Normally only Patton would be up at this time, but it seems as if both Roman and Logan decided to rise at this ungodly hour. He checked his clock, but was even more surprised when he read the time.

5:00 am.

“What the heck…” He whispered burying his head in his pillow, wishing with all of his heart that he did not have to get up to tell those three to keep their voices down. He groaned as the covers rolled back and his bare feet were in contact with the cold floor. He shivered, trying to find the strength to walk, when he heard a pair of feet bound softly up to where his room was. Well, on the bright side he didn’t have to move that much.

It was not a second later that Patton came stip-stepping down the hallway softly, dressed in his cat onesie. He was about to knock on the door when Virgil opened it on the inside, his expression one of complete irritation.

“Oh I’m sorry buddy. Did we wake you up?” Patton gasped softly

“What do you think?” Virgil rubbed his eyes tiredly, badly wanting to go back to bed. “Seriously...why are you guys up?” He squinted into the hallway light, trying to get a read on Patton’s face. Finally his shy grin came into view.

“Oh...nothing in particular kiddo!” Virgil could tell he was fibbing.

“Why do I not believe you?” He blinked at him, clearly unamused.

“Eheheheh. Well, how about you go back to bed, and then when you re-awaken you can see for yourself what we are working on.”

Virgil’s brow furrowed as soft laughter from two different voices suddenly rang from downstairs. It was not often Logan and Roman would laugh together like this and this told him that something was definitely going on. A faint ‘aww’ passed from Patton’s lips as the moral aspect looked in their direction. He sighed once before turning back to his dark, strange son.

“You should go back to bed Virgil. I promise we will be more quiet. Catch up on the ol’ Z’s! And when tomorrow comes, go ahead and check up on us. I hope you like your surprise.”

“Surprise, what surp-”

“G’night Virgil.” But Patton was gone, giggling back downstairs to join the other two, their voices immediately softer. Virgil grunted in bewilderment and shut his door, promptly returning to his bed in hopes to get more sleep. And sleep he did get.

The darker aspect woke up three hours later to light shining through his window, and the noise from downstairs having complete ceased, at least from what he could hear. Virgil took the liberty to stretch, get dressed, and put on his usual amount of makeup curious as to what his fellow sides were up to last night. When he finally did open his door he found quite the surprise in itself.

The hallway was covered from head to toe in streamers! Purple and black streamers! He blinked in shock and couldn’t resist taking a hand and batting at the hanging decoration. He smiled lightly to himself as he moved out of his room, and through the forest of streamers. The stairs were also a mess, but covered in every different color of streamer making them look like a rainbow had puked on them, but what really surprised him was the banister he normally slid down was covered in toilet paper.

“Toilet paper? Pfff. Are you guys serious?” He touched it giggling lightly to himself. Toilet paper instead of white streamers. He really needed to know whose idea this was now. Virgil finally began to make his way down the staircase, only to find the commons complete decked out in his colors as well. His mouth dropped open slightly as he marveled how the room was setup! After analyzing he could finally tell the three aspects split the room between them to all decorate. He almost laughed out loud at how different each part of the room looked.

On Patton’s side everything was somewhat thrown about, but hung up as well, giving it a cute, homey atmosphere. Virgil then turned to Logan’s part and just like him everything was decorated methodically. It still looked very spectacular and articulated. The logical aspect had truly outdone himself. The last part of the room was Roman’s and it was just as extra as the prince himself. Streamers hung like curtains, the words happy birthday written on every wall-Oh wait. Was it that time of year already? He had hardly noticed.

He glanced back at Patton’s area of decorations. “That explains the cake.” He smiled to himself as he saw the purple, white, and black frosted cake sitting there on a confetti strewed table. The whole room truly was decorated marvelously and he had to give them credit for the hard work they all put in. He walked forward more, softly kicking balloons around with his feet continuing to awe at what they did, and for him no less!

This was the first time they had done something like this for him! All the years before they had ignored him and his birthday, only celebrating each other’s. The change was actually quite nice, considering the fact that they knew more about who he was as their friend and aspect. Speaking of fellow aspects, where were they?

Virgil scoured the room, but saw no trace of them anywhere. Knowing Patton he was probably hiding, waiting to jump out at him and tackle hug the darker aspect to the ground with a hug. Roman and Logan however were a bit less predictable in their thought processes, given that the amount of time Virgil had spent with either one of them had been much less than ideal. He did not think Patton would be able to talk them into the whole ‘surprise party’ thing.

He continued walking hoping to find some trace of their whereabouts, when he began wading through a gigantic pile of streamers and balloons. Judging by their placements, Virgil could tell this was the remains of a balloon and streamer fight. The darker aspect chuckled, realizing this was most likely what Logan and Roman were laughing about last night. He didn’t realise how distracted he was by the floor, until he found himself on it! Oof!

“Happy Birthday Virgil!” Patton had tackled him to the ground, staring down at him with those sparkling, happy brown eyes. Virgil couldn’t help a smile even if he did feel his space was slightly invaded.

“Ahhh!! Patton!! Good morning to you too.” He swam in the large pile of streamers as he struggled to get up, until Patton managed to roll off of the top of him and give him a hand up.

“Eheheh! We wanted to make it special. Just for you kiddo!” Patton carted a hand through the darker aspect’s hair, an action which Virgil secretly enjoyed. “Do you like it?”

Virgil took a second look at the room, still unbelieving that his was all for him. “Yeah. I do...but why? You guys have never done anything like this for me before.” Patton smiled sadly, pulling him into a hug.

“I know...but we promise to do things like this for you from here on! We want you as a part of our group and we will continue to do this for you until you feel like you are one of us!”

Virgil chuckled, blushing ever so slightly. “Heh. Thanks dad.”

Patton’s smiled. “Your welcome kiddo!”

“So...where’s royal pain and uptight?” Patton’s giggle had him slightly worried.

“Oh they’re here! I suggest you try the kitchen!” Patton pointed at said room and started walking towards it, beckoning him to follow. Virgil gave a tiny gulp and did so, noting how many more decorations came into view.

The kitchen was decorated almost as if it were halloween all over again! It was dimly lit, candles burned brightly all over in bat shaped containers, more black streamers hung from every corner, and there were black table cloths covering every table and countertop! Virgil walked forward and noticed some food on the table in front of him, but before he could grab a Dorito™  something had rushed out from under the black tablecloth and lifted the darker aspect into the air.

“AHHHHH!!!”

“Hahahahaha!!! Happy Birthday Fall Out Boy!” The royal aspect then took the liberty to spin his victim around a couple times before letting him down.

“Ah! Put me down Princey!!”

“Oh alright.” Roman reluctantly put the darker aspect back on his feet and clapped his back gently. “It’s your day today! We decorated the mind palace especially for you!”

“Yeah. I see that.” Virgil felt slightly dizzy from being spun a couple rotations. “It’s...nice actually. Thanks.” He took another minute to look around. “What’s all the food for?” Virgil motioned to the kitchen.

“I believe it’s for eating. I could be wrong though.” Roman and Patton both snickered as the darker aspect rolled his eyes. “Haha. Very funny Prince charming.” Virgil walked to where the Prince was hiding snagged a couple dorito’s from the bowl.

“Did you find Logan yet?”

“No? I didn’t know this was a game of hide-n-seek.” Virgil munched thoughtfully.

“It’s not...I don’t think.” Patton looked around, trying to see if he could spot the logical aspect hiding somewhere.

“Unless Logan interpreted the directions wrong...again.” Roman rubbed his face, hoping his statement wasn’t the case.

“Excuse me? Your directions were very clear!” Roman facepalmed, Patton giggled and Virgil raised an eyebrow looking for the source of the sound.

“You know Logan. The point of hiding is not to give yourself away.”

“Did I give myself away, I do not hear or see Virgil trying to look for me.” Virgil spotted a trap door above them cleverly hidden against the background of the ceiling and pointed to it. Roman gave a knowing smirk and nodded. “The spot I have chosen for my hiding place is very secret, and I doubt I will be found ouUUT Oof!” Virgil had walked over and pulled a cord attached to the wall. The trap door then swung open and the hidden logical aspect plummeted to the ground. Logan groaned and moved his limbs slightly, managing to stagger up to his feet, but not before three different wrapped presents fell after him, bopping him on the head sequentially.

“Happy Birthday Virgil.” While groaning, he fixed his glasses, tie, and hair before picking up the presents and handing them to the stunned aspect.

“...for...me?” He accepted them and stood awkwardly, holding the wrapped gifts not exactly sure what to do.

“So that’s where you hid them Logan.” Roman chuckled and closed the trap door, making sure no one would accidentally run into it.

“Yes. It seemed like a strategically placed hiding spot.”

“Maybe it would have been, if you didn’t talk so much.”

“What!? I talk less than you, Princey. At least about myself.”

“Alright alright. Break it up you two! This is Virgil’s day. If you guys are gonna fight, use pillows or those balloons and streamers you both threw at each other this morning.” The two aspect’s in question slightly blushed at Patton’s gesting.

“Well. I suppose the next course of action would be to watch Virgil open his presents. Back to the commons?” Virgil nodded shyly and followed the other aspects back into the decorated area. They all sat down on the ground and watched Virgil open his presents.

From Roman’s gift he got a couple of his duplicate disney posters, some Nightmare before Christmas merchandise, a candle holder in the shape of a black cauldron, and then some black licorice, which were more supposed to be a joke than an actual thing to eat. Virgil took them however, as he had nothing against the misunderstood sweet.

From Logan’s gift, he received a sketch pad and a series of drawing utensils, along with a coloring book, and a cd player, since his old one had broke not a week before. He was also given a whole box of streamers, which was merely the logical aspect just poking fun of his catlike abilities. This earned Logic a proper burial once again under a whole pile of streamers.

The last gift was from Patton and it was as adorable as he had hoped it would be. Inside was a cat plushy with cool green eyes, a Nightmare Before Christmas throw, along with some fluffy, black sweatpants that he could wear for knocking around the house if he really wanted. At the bottom though was an old album he had always wanted from Gorillaz which he got embarrassingly excited from and Patton just had to take a picture of his smile, slightly irritating the darker aspect. However, the cake had managed to ease some of that irritation slightly.

As he sat there in front of the cake frosted in his name, the three other facets sang happy birthday after carefully lighting the candles.

“Go ahead Virgil! Make a wish.” He chuckled to himself and blew out the candles, knowing full well what Patton’s next question would be. “So, what did you wish for kiddo?”

“Don’t you know how it works dad? I can’t tell you my wish or else it won’t come true.” Patton pouted playfully, but no matter what puppy-dog-eyes the moral aspect gave he refused to tell him his wish or tell any of them as a matter of fact. And this wish he certainly wanted to come true, and if fate allowed it, he would keep it to himself...forever. Because if he kept it to himself, he would never have to feel the pain of being an outcast...ever again.

Happy release day to THE SECRET COMMONWEALTH by @philippullmanofficial, which is easily my most-anticipated book of the year! 📖 Many huge thanks to @getunderlined for sending me an early finished copy earlier this week, which I started reading immediately. I'm about halfway through the book now and it's SO good, but I am also completely torn up with emotions 😭💔 Lyra! Pan! Will! Malcolm! Ahhhhh ... I woke up thinking about the book this morning, and all I want to do today is blow off work and keep reading it. . . I was 11 when my dad bought me a copy of The Golden Compass, and in the 25 years since, I've re-read it (and the rest of the His Dark Materials series) countless times. These books changed and shaped my life, and mean something truly special to me. (We even had a reading from the third book at our wedding when I got married.) So to revisit this world and these characters in The Book of Dust is truly a remarkable gift, and I am once again wonderstruck by Pullman's storytelling and the magic he weaves with his words.
