#I want nothing to mistake me for being a terf

hello ^-^
soo i saw one of your posts about transmisogyny which i thought was really well written and articulated, so i wanted to get your opinion on something.
i’ve seen some tme trans(masc) people on here say that treating trans men like “gender traitors” or “siding with The Enemy” is bioessentialist and terf rhetoric, however i see this brought up almost exclusively in response to conversations about tme and/or male privilege. to me it seems like they feel invalidated or vilified by trans women and discussions about transmisogyny, and so they reposition the issue as one which targets and oppresses them so that they can avoid having to confront any privilege they may possess. i also think the way they phrase it purposely obfuscates what they’re really getting at, which is that men are oppressed for being masculine and held up as the ultimate evil (patently untrue). but i don’t really know as much about it as you might and it’s also not my place to decide what is or isn’t transmisogyny as a tme, so i wanted to hear your thoughts.
no pressure to respond and i hope you have a nice day <3
thanks for the well wishes. I'm trying to hold it together today and I figure I may as well answer this to distract myself
anyway yeah, those are some pretty astute observations. to be honest, I have to agree that the "gender traitor" narrative is bioessentialist, which is why it very much is terf rhetoric. in order for trans men to be "gender traitors" or "siding with the enemy", you would have to suppose that they are fundamentally women, and that they chose to be trans in order to escape from misogyny and gain access to male privilege. the basis of this hypothetical relies on the premise that they are female due to some permanent unchangeable characteristic, which is exactly what bioessentialism posits. plus, this narrative relies on the willful depiction of transness as nothing more than a lifestyle choice, which is blatantly transphobic due to the fact that for many trans people, transness manifests independently of any external factors.
(you will find a lot of debate about what makes people trans, and there is a lot of disagreement even among trans people, but I'm not going to get into that right now. just assume that my point is that there is no universal narrative that explains why people are trans and it varies from person to person.)
that being said, I feel it's also important to point out that there's no shortage of transmascs who are terfs or were former terfs. the reason for this is pretty obvious when you think about it for a few seconds: terfs regularly talk about how womanhood is an innately traumatic and miserable experience, and closeted transmascs for whom womanhood IS a traumatic and miserable experience sometimes gravitate toward that community because it makes them feel understood. terfs very much operate like a cult in this way, and you could easily assert that transmascs who become terfs are victims of cult brainwashing. however, my sympathy for them ends the moment I remember that they willingly joined a hate group whose purpose is the extermination of people like me.
and make no mistake! many of these men are still just as transmisogynistic as they were before! even the ones who leave the terf community (which is not all of them) only do so because they often find that they're no longer welcome when they choose to transition, not out of any desire to atone for the violence they've perpetrated against trans women.
so, what are these trans men to do after they've been exiled from the community that validated their existence and gave them a political drive? how can they reconcile the fact that their decision to choose masculinity and manhood has resulted in them feeling ostracized, ridiculed, and isolated? it's simple really: redefine their politics around the premise that men are actually hated in society. this is an easy conclusion for them to come to when they've been living inside an echo chamber where everyone they know DOES hate men.
the problem with that, though, is that in the eyes of a radical feminist, a "man" is a biological category of person, and any critiques you can make about men's behavior can be attributed to a biological cause. terfs don't ACTUALLY hate men, they hate "biological males" - trans women.
and that's very true of these transmasculine "former" terfs as well. they still hold the same bioessentialist views, so they feel vilified whenever they come into contact with the "biological males" they've come to despise so much. most of them don't actually understand any other types of feminism besides radical feminism, so when they encounter trans women reminding them that they have male privilege, they fall back on their bioessentialist beliefs. they're not an evil "biological male", after all, they're a "biological female" who's "ontologically incapable of violence", and a feminist is criticizing them for "siding with the enemy" by "choosing masculinity".
you need to understand that when they do this, it is largely a form of deflection. they resent the radical feminists who discarded them for being trans, and are attempting to distance themselves from the people who hurt them. that's why they're so vehemently anti-feminist. and because they haven't unpacked any of their bioessentialist beliefs, they're able to paint trans women, who deep down they still view as privileged and dangerous biological males, as aggressive and oppressive radical feminists. ultimately, despite whatever conception they have of themselves, they're expressing a form of male entitlement by shutting the conversation down and making everything that terfs do about them, ignoring the fact that the vast, VAST majority of the violence they enact is targeted specifically at trans women. and why wouldn't they? they don't actually care about trans women. they still hate us just as much as they always have, even if they now pay us lip service and (sometimes) use the right pronouns for us.
let me make myself clear: not all transmascs do this. not even a majority! all in all, this kind of story represents a pretty small minority of trans men, but they're very vocal and very visible in the trans community. that's not to say that most transmascs don't hold transmisogynistic views (it's basically impossible to have absolutely none if you're tme), but few of them are this hateful. this story is just one that I've seen played out many times - mostly involuntarily - because I've gotten a lot of these types of guys arguing with me on here and painting me as a radfem for talking about basic feminist tenets such as "men are an oppressor class".
also, as a disclaimer since I don't have time to get into everything: terfs are not a monolith and some terfs welcome trans men into their ranks (though these are an even smaller number of them), this was just one scenario that I hope painted a clear picture of the cause behind this phenomenon you've observed.
I hope this was helpful. if you need more examples, keep an eye on the notes of this post; they'll come crawling in here to argue with me in no time.

Just wanted to address this post from @thevibewizard on a separate thread because the post is getting too long, and moderation is a different topic from new site features. But it's worth addressing.
No one, especially me, would suggest that Tumblr Staff are to be held completely unaccountable and without scrutiny. My post was specifically about who to blame whenever Tumblr rolls out a feature that is generally unappealing.
When it comes to blazed posts with shit in them like TERF nonsense and suicide notes, there's nothing to defend there. Someone screwed up. It's not evidence of a massive in-house TERF conspiracy or that Staff's Trust and Safety team is actually lazy. The most likely explanation is someone had a lapse of judgement or didn't review the content well enough.
I know it's upsetting to see that shit, especially as a blazed post. I get upset too. The best course of action is to report the post and file an explanation of what's wrong with it. Even if it's obvious. The Trust & Safety team will review it, and blazed posts that get taken down are probably a big red flag for them to review how they ended up blazed in the first place. The T&S team will not see it when you just screenshot the offending post and make an angry post about it, they don't search Tumblr's posts for hate speech reports.
Remember that there's hundreds of millions of users and only a few dozen people reading reports (on top of reviewing blazes and other T&S work of enforcement, development, etc). As a quick exercise in picturing the scale: there are roughly 12 million new posts made every day on Tumblr. Say 0.5% of them contain content against terms of service. That's 60,000 shitty posts. There's a lot to go through daily and not all of it is reported, and automated tools for catching bad content effectively are not that good.
The volume of reports that Tumblr's T&S team deals with is astronomical compared to the social media sites that farm out their moderation teams to third party services. And, again, this is not to excuse mistakes, this is just to provide context for how those mistakes happen. Customer service is brutal no matter the org.
Tumblr's Staff is a bunch of individuals working together on a larger product. I guess the question comes down to whether you personally think it's worth getting angry at Staff as a whole when an individual makes a mistake, and how, exactly, can you productively direct that anger. If it's worth it to you to express that anger, go for it. It's valid. Just ask yourself, are you swinging at the right target?
If Tumblr didn't have a reputation for being the internet's imperfect but most well-known safe space for LGBTQIA+ youth and self-discovery, I would be more suspicious of why TERF posts make it through blaze review. The people I worked with at Tumblr were the most vocal supporters of marginalized people I've worked with in tech. The corporate entity of Tumblr (and Automattic) can never be truly trusted. Never trust a corporation or the executives. But I can say that the individuals in the apparatus that do the work are largely good and are trying their best with the tools they have.

Detransitioners and Abusive Families
OK, a couple of things up front. First, this post is emphatically not about any particular detransitioner. In aid of this I've not looked up any details of any particular detransition story in writing this post, I am not here to judge any individual's gender identity. Secondly, I am not (and have never identified as) trans. What I do have experience with is abusive, controlling middle-class british families - and that's what this post is about. Third, I am not trans. This post is not a coded cry for help. I have experienced being treated as an "egg" by well-meaning trans people before, and while I value having experienced how upsetting persistent misgendering can be, I do not need to experience it again.
So. With that said, let's talk about detransitioners and abusive families. Specifically, abusive british TERF families.
I saw a comic yesterday that talked about the process of getting and taking T, in the context of detransition. It talked about how easy it is to find out what it'll do, how much the medical system makes sure you know, and how easy it would be to stop. The conclusion was that vocal detransitioners are "either being hyperbolic, or they're grifters".
I think there's a third option - that they're being used as political pawns by transphobic families. I also think that some feelings of "I never expected these consequences" could be genuine, despite everything (but that doesn't mean trans healthcare was the problem!).
Some transphobic families disown and kick out their trans children, some will do anything to physically prevent them from presenting how they want or getting healthcare. But what if the family in question is middle-class, british and TERFy? British TERFs typically profess to support trans people in principle, and merely object to every practical aspect of their very existence. You can't square that with kicking out your own kid for being trans. Besides, middle-class british families "want the best" for their children - which means deciding what "the best" is and doing everything they can to force their children to be that. Not only is kicking a child out clearly far from "the best" for them, but it also relinquishes control.
There is also the notion of allowing a child to "make their own mistakes". After all, kids need to experience the world for themselves. Let them go out there and try things. And once they're in their late teens, heck, they're adults - they have a right to make their own decisions!
But what if the child currently "making their own mistakes" is finding it's actually not a mistake at all? What if they're going down a road they're perfectly happy with, but which the TERF parents find unacceptable? Well then, they'd have to make damn sure to turn it into a mistake!
I remember when I was 15 and home educated, my family told me I was socially unacceptable. I don't remember what specifically for, but I was neurodivergent and inexperienced with the world. They told me that they loved me, because I was their son and so their love was unconditional, but that other people would "not bother with me". They told me to expect nothing but rejection, for things that I couldn't help. In fact, I found my peers far more accepting than my family.
It's not hard to imagine the parents of a trans child pulling a similar stunt. They might "love and accept" their trans child, but constantly tell them they're a socially unacceptable freak, and the level of "acceptance" they get at home is the best they can ever hope for. Having started with "whatever it's your decision" they might start pushing their child away from social or family events with dire warnings of how others would see them. They might constantly tell their child how pretty they used to be, and what a shame it is that they look like this now.
The reality, of course, would be much like my experience. It's not like everyone wanted to be around the socially inexperienced neurodivergent 16-year-old, but after a year or so in sixth form college I found plenty of people happy to accept me for who I am. The default setting of humanity is kind to others. But finding that acceptance is not necessarily instant.
So, lets bring this back to "I never expected these consequences". As the comic rightly points out, the physical consequences of transition are very obvious and it's absurd to imagine them coming as a surprise. However, the social consequences as an isolated middle-class kid could come out of fucking nowhere. Those are consequences imposed by transphobic parents, in order to cruelly punish the child who dared not to Stick To The Plan.
The irony is that these parents might oppose transition because they see it as a choice and one that results in a more difficult life. Can't have that, that's not The Best For My Child! But then, they go out of their way to force that prophecy to come true and ruin the life of their transitioning child in order to get them back "on track" with a performatively Normal middle-class life.
In such a situation, I think two things would be true. First, the child would genuinely feel irreversibly damaged - because their parents had made sure to impose that upon them. Second, if they became a political figure, it would be because their parents are be using them as a political pawn - forcing them back into the closet to further an agenda. They've been harmed, but it's an artificial harm, done by transphobes and blamed on HRT.
(this post is long enough so I've not gone into detail about how my middle-class british family's controlling behaviour worked but the short version is financial control and emotional abuse)

Welcome to my humble domain!! 🫧✨
Hi, I'm Marble, a lesbian in her early 20s from Poland. Just vibing here on Tumblr from time to time. If you want to look into my post/reblogs read my takes on #talk tag.
More information about me under the cut! 💕
*I'm still quite new to radical feminism and I'm trying my best to learn how to take action. In short, I fight for women's rights and freedom from sex-based oppression. Right now I'm looking into creating a small radfem activism group in my area. If you're from Poland and feel comfortable, dm me!
If the part has * in front of it that means I changed something in the text and/or my views are different than before.
I detransitioned in the middle of 2023. I used to be a non-binary/agender and asexual individual for around 3 to 4 years, but I understood all of that was because of internalized misogyny and homophobia and I actually wanted to have sex and did like me being a woman before I entered the trans community.
I'm an ex-Christian, now I probably would call myself a spiritual person, researching my Slavic roots at the moment.
I believe in critical thinking and triple-checking facts. Everyone can have their opinions, but actions should have a base in grounded reality and unbiased scientific research. Read those books ladies!
I'm mostly talking about my experience as an ex-TRA, a lesbian, a woman, someone who lives in a misogynistic/conservative family and a country that has yet to legalize same-sex marriage, but you can safely transition here even as a minor!
*I'm a trans identified men hater, a terf if you will. I don't care. Fuck all men, I don't care anymore. Gender dysphoria or perversion (autogynephilia) should have never been "solved" with a surgery and/or irreversible "gender affirming" treatment. No other mental illness has permanent body modification as its treatment, same should be for gender dysphoria. The trans movement (men's rights movement in disguise) is the most harmful thing right now and I'm so tired of seeing more people being pushed into it just because they are themselves and aren't scared to dress unconventionally! I'm fuming with rage.
I make mistakes! I'm just a human being and, naturally, I will be in the wrong sometimes. May it be because of the language barrier or me just not thinking things through, doesn't matter. I will try to acknowledge my mistakes and say sorry. I'm still learning and there isn't a better way than through your own downfalls!
I don't block people, unless they're insufferable. We can have different opinions, different lifestyles, different views, but if you're annoying I draw the line there.
I also draw sometimes (I don't have much time for it right now, bc I'm in the middle of my academic years), you can find my work under #my art.
Nothing here is set in stone. As I grow as a person my views will probably change. If you have any questions, just ask them! I'm happy to answer all of them ❤️

I cant sleep and im just thinking about how much I hate Lily and James potter as characters. Lily had SOOOO much potential as a character but jk rowling just doesn’t know how to write women (fucking ironic yet typical of a terf to reduce women to their most bare minimum). Like lily is the whole ass reason Harry is alive and the whole ass reason Voldemort died the first time yet all she is reduced to is just generally “nice” (which I have beef with considering how she treated her “best friend”), green eyes, smart, and died for her son. Meanwhile James is sooooooo much worse! He goes from arrogant rich pureblood bully jock who threatens to hex a girl if she doesn’t go out with him and mercilessly harassing said girl’s best friend to just marrying said girl??? And like his growth and redemption is just ????? Hes not even really a character at all. I’m so upset that there are so many people who know the Potters who tell Harry about them and it’s always the same three or four things about them yet we, as readers, are supposed to just be like oh no it’s so sad and tragic they died when like they were such deeply unlikable and two dimensional characters??? Like for fucks sake the prophecy said they defied Voldemort THREE times that sounds in theory so badasss and cool and could have made for some very cool lore yet that is not explored at all!
Lily who we are told over and over again is a very nice character really isnt nice at all in all the flashbacks (she blames her best friend for an act she also committed, excuses a group of people trying to kill him and calls him ungrateful for not being thankful they decided to not go through with it to save their own asses but draws the line at dark magic that is implied to not be anywhere close to as dangerous as the prank^tm, almost smiles at her best friend being sexually assaulted, and then dates then marries the guy who committed said SA on her childhood best friend, harassed muggles and threatened to hex her if she didnt date him) yet we’re supposed to be like omg the angel! Like no!
Jk rowling fumbled the potters so absolutely fucking badly and made them deeply unlikable characters!
She could have done SOOOOOO much with James. Have him realize holy shit “I’m subconsciously participating in blood supremacists ideologies let me not do that” and that would have been so interesting! Have him actually grow as a person and show what made him want to fight for what is right have him own up to his mistakes and actually grow!
As for Lily, the whole having a friend who went down the wrong path could have been executed so much better. She could have stuck up for her friend in front of her sister instead of blaming him, she could have told severus “your group of friends are just as bad as the people who are bullying you” instead of “aT LeAsT tHeY dOnT uSe DaRk mAgIc”. It literally would have given her as a character and the story so much more depth to have her actually be upset and heart broken about having to end a long term friendship because it became toxic.
It’s so frustrating looking at these two characters who are important to the story and see nothing but wasted potential.

Hi. I just need to get this off my cheast
I am happy that you have found your true self even though you are hateful.
I have listened to and accessed both perspective of TRAs, Detransitoners and TERFs
Each time I look at your or any other radfem's posts I am reminded that I am enby and I just can't change that even if I wanted to.
Before you call me a TRA
Before you call me delusional or brainwashed
Before you call me a misogynist
Before you say I'm part of this "crazy gender cult"
I know I can't change your mind about trans and enby folks like me
But I just want you to take a walk down the street and look at all those strangers around you and think "anyone of these people could be trans".
I'm am an ordinary person just like you
Let go of that bigoted picture of me and other trans people that you have in your
I am not a "confused silly girl who is making a mistake because she is naive and dumb".
This is not a hate ask but rather a thank you, I thank you and other TERFs for helping me see that I can't change being enby.
I nothing but empathy of you in my heart.
Thank you💜💛.
-Mayo
This was 50% beautiful message because you call me hateful, even though I’m not. Also because you assume that I see every TiF as a “confused silly girl who is making a dumb mistake because she is naive and dumb” I literally have never said that. I also see TiFs/TiMs as people. I never said I didn’t. Some of them act in ways where it’s questionable, and I’m talking about those who say they wish to cut the faces of women because they’re so jealous. I know they’re people.
My feelings and thoughts on this are literally more complex than that. I actually don’t think you know my thought process at all.
I think you need to let go of your biases, just like I need to, and I’m working on it. This ask is filled with radfem stereotypes that don’t really apply to me.

This is a whole ass man & I’m pulling bets on the fact their mad because they literally have nothing interesting about them that would attract anybody in their right mind.
Tumblr media
Not a single thing this person says is truth or makes any sense. Their poor mother probably wishes she actually swallowed that night, it’s okay love, we all make mistakes. I feel bad she’s had to look at them for the past 10+ years.
I’m sorry this anon is pure trash, don’t listen to anything they say 💜 you’re an amazing person, a wonderful write and out of this world beautiful! Fuck them, keep smiling love 💜
Well, I think there’s truth to some things they say, there’s just no reason for it is all. Like, discussing ones identity or size as if that’s a negative piece of them or even representative of a full person. Because like, I am fat, but I’m not made of whale blubber, nor am I this way because I’m just some ravenous glutton lmao. On top of that, it doesn’t make me undeserving to live / breathe. I’m not less than anyone else.
I’m honestly torn between their identity. Part of me imagines a man, likely on our accounts b/c he wants to get off to wlw fanfiction, which is why when he sees intersex characters he loses his shit because he’s stepping into a space that was never meant for him, and is wondering why the pieces don’t accommodate to his needs. As if the world doesn’t placate to his every whim.
I see people headcannoning the anon as a basement dweller, but I don’t. I actually think (if it is a guy) that he has his own place. Probably has a job in tech, or a similar scope, that gets him a comfortable salary — he has it all. Except he doesn’t because he has the personality of a toothpick, and probably makes any women to ever exist uncomfortable so all he has is a hand. So he finds himself infiltrating wlw spaces, then insinuating that we are gay because we were unwanted by his kind, when the truth is, even if we were straight / bi, we wouldn’t want him and that unbearable truth keeps him up at night.
Then, I wonder if it’s a woman who used to be a writer on here, and got shunned for being a terf. Either are likely, but the reason I lean towards this is simply because they are attacking writers who don’t even write or read(never reblogs) intersex pieces. They attacked the person who was blamed(unfairly) for her departure, and they seem vengeful in a way that gives off “has been scorned” vibes. A reason she didn’t go after me from the jump (I presume) is b/c before she left she’d had me blocked (no clue why, but like — thank fuck, right? 😮‍💨)
If so, then to her I say find a different fandom, maybe Harry Potter, it’s obvi more up your alley. Because the majority of the MCU - LGBTQIA+ fandom is not interested in their radicalized (abhorrent) rhetoric. Not everyone on here reads or writes intersex, but from what I can see (and it makes me happy) is that majority rally behind and support the Trans community.
But at the end of the day this is all speculation because whoever it is, they are a faceless coward who gets off on making others upset. Which, btw, isn’t going to work on me because I promise you I don’t care what they think of me. People who actively harass the marginalized don’t garner my respect, and therefore whatever they think / say is nullified to me.
Thank you for reaching out though, I had a good giggle over your meme, and I genuinely appreciate your kind words. I do take them to heart because I actually respect you, ❤️

For the ones that just started following me
Since I'm too lazy for a carrd
Tumblr media
About me
I'm brazilian, therefore english is not my first language and my grammar might not be perfect. Feel free to politely correct me if you see any mistake, I'm putting effort in improving my english every day
I usually struggle when it comes to communicate due to my autism/social phobia, but even so I'd love to try to make new friends so if you're willing to text me I promise I'll do my best to respond
Name's Levi, but you can also call me Jupiter if you want to, I have a preference for being called Levi but Jupiter is my name too. Feel free to give me a nickname, as long as it's not pejorative. And, well, I guess I don't need to talk about my pronouns bc I believe they're noticeable in my profile (in order of preference btw
Before you follow
Although I'm an adult, my blog is a 100% sfw/safe for minors place. If you still don't feel comfortable about following me due to the fact that I'm an adult, it's okay, I understand
If you follow me when you just started on tumblr, I probably won't follow you back, if your blog is blank I won't know what kind of stuff you'll post and I won't risk seeing stuff I'm not comfortable with on my social media account
Dni
Discriminatory people in general. Judging anyone for their gender/body/sexuality/race/ethnicy/religion/disability or any other similar reason is NOT "your opinion" and I won't tolerate that. That includes terfs and cis gay men who invalidates transmasculines
If you support someone who is openly against some minority, regardless if they're famous or not

You probably don't care, but people earn my respect through actions I approve of. Acting in a way I think is a good way to act. The way I intend to act.
Those actions am quite simple, these am in the order they pop into me head:
Not letting people walk all over you.
Knowing when to drop a topic and move on.
Learning from and admitting your mistakes and shortcomings.
Practice self-examination. Nothing is more dangerous than refusing to scrutinise oneself.
Don't dismiss other's struggles. Even if they sound strange to you or you think you've suffered worse.
Oh, that's a big one. Suffering is not a contest, don't treat it like it is.
Not starting fights over personal taste differences.
Understanding not everyone is like you and being good with that.
Understanding that people know themselves better than you know them.
Not expecting apologies to be accepted (I don't actually believe an apology you expect to be accepted is a real apology).
General politeness (you can be rude with people who aren't being polite themselves, there's leniency here).
Not name-calling and otherwise insulting people (again, leniency for when the other side isn't followin' this rule).
Slurs are a no-go (this don't apply to self-identification, words with numerous contexts that can be slurs or using terms when discussing said terms in conversation).
Basic respect is a big thing with me. Respectin' pronouns, gender, sexuality, nationality.
Be considerate of others.
General weariness of generailsations (especially of immutable things like ethnicity, place of birth, etc.)
A subcategory of that: Be very weary of being nationalist, even as a joke (I dislike people who insult French people for instance, nationalism is not quirky or funny).
Just don't be bigoted in general. You'll fail at this, because this is a very bigoted world, but strive for reduction of bigotry from yourself everyday.
Don't put words in other people's mouths.
Giving benefit of the doubt to a reasonable degree (there's a lotta nuance there to what 'a reasonable degree' is).
Just, generally don't jump to conclusions.
Don't dilute terms and generally try and use things properly (example: using the term 'TERF' as just 'transphobe' since that's a specific category of transphobe and transphobic ideology).
Knowing when to argue and when to simply block someone (like when you see a TERF, for instance, just remove 'em from your sight).
Listen to a wide-variety of people, hear numerous sides of a discussion. Then form an opinion. Gut instincts and knee-jerk reactions are often unhelpful (and full of bias).
Understand that nobody speaks for everybody in a category and treatin' people as ambassadors for their demographics is a bad thing to do.
Don't make assumptions about others lives or capabilities.
Oh, don't act like your views are all unequivocal 'objective fact' and everyone else is 'subjective' or use 'subjective' as a negative.
At the same time, both sidesing is not always sensible. There are sides that are just plain wrong (TERFs are a good example of this)
Generally think before you speak.
Know you don't need to share your opinion on everythin' or act like your views are somehow better than other people's views.
Don't be mean about spellin' mistakes or poor-wording. At best you'll be being mean, at worst you'll be being ableist or nationalist.
Uhh... I can't think of anythin' else of the top of my head. Why did I even write this? Felt like it. I know basically nobody is gonna be like "Oh boy, I really don't want to lose the respect of Delafiseaseses.". Now, living up to all these standards is kinda impossible, but striving for such things is a good idea. We're all everchanging, complex and contradictory creatures.
And that's good.

Hey, I noticed you're using Bob Morley as an fc and wanted to let you know that he abused his ex-girlfriend, there's also been mentions of him being racist and homophobic.
This is not something I was aware of, but thank you for informing me.
Allow me to state that:
I do not stand for abuse of any variety.
I do not stand for homophobia, terfs, and bigotry in general.
I do not stand for violence, misogyny, or racism.
I would hope that my actions have made that clear over my time on this site, and hopefully they will continue to align with these values. As such, I wanted to take the concerns people brought to me seriously, and I've given them some thought.
I have not and will not use people with confirmed claims of abuse or multiple corroborated stories of abuse as FCs for characters. I will not use people with a long history of racism or homophobia, or any other forms of bigotry.
That being said, as a result of personal experiences, I may use people who have shown a change in behaviour as I believe I wasn't the same person I was five years ago. And thank God for that, because I still find myself cringing at who I was last year, let alone my formative teenage years.
As it stands, from my deep dive into the Bob Morley Situation, much like I did with Joel Kinnaman, nothing has been updated on it for approximately two years, and there has been no further information or investigation to the alleged claims.
An FC is, and should be, merely a visual aid for me to envision the story that I have created. Nothing more, nothing less. An actor is not their character, a character is not the actor. They merely look the same.
I am not in support of every casted actors values or histories. It is merely the closest approximation of how I perceive my characters' physical appearance. My characters come to me first, and the casting comes after. I have simply selected the actor who resembles my character the closest in my mind.
If you are uncomfortable with any of this, feel free to blacklist the actor's and character's names so you don't see the posts, or unfollow me.
I am only human. We should all be afforded the opportunity to make mistakes and learn and grow from them. Keeping my original castings may be one. But as it is merely a depiction of the character's physical appearance, I would hope not.
Faceclaims are not the actor.

What did vaush do this time?
Oh, boy. Okay, so this the timeline of events as far I could gather: 1. Vaush made a tweet in which he said that Joane Karen could have stayed quiet and she would have been revered for years to come. That is true. Then he added "women should apoligize and stay quiet more challenge." If that were all nobody would have cared that much. 2. Joanne Karen, making honor of her second name, screenshot his tweet though, doing the usual "see, see?? this is what pro-trans activists are all like! They all just hate women! And I am the most suffered victim of all! Woa is me!" bullshit everytime she gets a papercut. 3. The whole online left was then divided on people who said Vaush did nothing wrong and people who, very correctly, pointed out that weaponizing misogyny against a very powerful TERF is only going to hurt trans people and especially trans women on the long run, directly feeding into the victim narratives that they use to explain why trans woman can't use the bathroom. 4. Enters Kat Blaque and Contrapoints, both trans women. Contrapoints didn't liked the joke and I think that was literally all she did? I think some patreon post too but I didn't saw much of that so meh. Kat Blaque took another screenshot of the original tweet of Vaush, censored his identity and asked other trans women if they agree with people using misogyny against transphobes. 5. Vaush, in a incredible display of manchild behaviour that I frankly didn't expect from him, decides to then DM Kat and "debate" with her about how he was actually right and she is wrong, using a weird ass hypothetical about a black rapper using misogyny on his lyrics and then being criticizing by Shapiro? Kat answered essentially "no, I wouldn't defend misogyny from him but also it's not the same? you are not a trans person on this situation" and Vaush kept ignoring that to keep demanding a yes or not answer. When she keeps saying that she didn't care about his content that much in the first place and just wanted to have a conversation with other trans women, Vaush insists that he is better to advocate for the trans community than she is, that he is "concerned" for Kat and other dismissive misogynistic bullshit that I am honestly amazed that she could tolerate as well as she did. 6. After this conversation, Vaush did what I think was a 7 hour stream about the whole issue and somewhere on it he talked about how Kat "yell at white men but in private fetishize them" and how obssesed she was with him. 7. Following this, Kat released sexting messages (no pics, though) that she and Vaush exchanged years ago where Vaush approached her first. Somewhere she tweets again that she will settle for white dick sometimes but find it overall "underwhelming." 8. Because of this, a fucking legion of people are now calling what Kat did the same as sexual assault/abuse/rvenge porn and how Vaush, again, "might" have done something wrong, "maybe", but really it was Kat and Contra the true villains for not agreeing with Vaush because, what, do you want to defend a terf??? 9. For the record, Kat admits and recognizes that she shouldn't have said that or released those messages. I agree that she shouldn't have said that either. Does anyone of the Vaush defenders cares? No. The worst I have seen people say about Vaush comments on Kat fetishizing white men is that they were "spicy" and nothing else. Vaush now uses a old tweet where Kat was admitidly awful to a trans suicidal kid as for reason as to why she isn't good for the trans community, unlike him, the cis guy, which is fucking priceless coming from the guy who is constantly clipped out of context and has every awful accusation flown his way. Kat apoligized for that old tweet, again admits it was an awful mistake on her part, but Vaush doesn't care because she didn't played his debate game. So now people keep making videos about how Vaush did nothing wrong, Kat is a monster, Contra is a hypocrite and I just want to scream.

Alex Exposed Timeline (Long Post Warning
I'm just gonna call it that. That's a good enough title. There has been a recent small influx of people just learning this information. Especially after a recent tag from @bess-turani-marvin (ty for the mention). I did realize that something like this might be helpful for people who missed out on some of the stuff that went down.
This is all off the top of my head, so if I miss anything or misremember something. Feel free to let me know
Under the thing, because I cannot, in good faith, post something this long without one.
TL;DR: Alex Saxon is a bad person and has been for a while. Not everyone wants to believe that, but others have accepted it. It's kind of a mess. A big helping of yikes all around
December 2021 - January 2022: I, Lachesis, downloaded the shinigami eyes filter after it was recommended to me. I was playing around with the random people I saw on social media (checking them out, checking out people they follow, checking random posts, what have you), and Alex Saxon happened to be one of them.
His follow list, simply, was a mess. Many of the typical, bigotted alt-right pipeline starter pack kind of jerks were there. As I was already telling Clotho (the other mod) about how I was playing with the extension, I ended up telling her about what I found with Alex. We made the decision to create this blog and compile the google doc.
At first, we got a few mixed responses. Some people believed this was a weak attempt to "cancel him," others were thankful but disappointed because of the information, and others just ignored us. Fine. Kind of expected.
The next couple of months: Kind of quiet. Occasional hate. Again kind of expected when revealing stuff about some people's favorite actor.
June: So early June is when shit really hit the fan. Apologies for cursing, but that is the most accurate descriptor. Alex liked a tweet from a known homophobe/transphobe that he had been following for quite some time. The tweet was a video from Ricky Gervais' "comedy" special. Specifically, it was just transphobic jokes.
Tumblr media
This is that tweet. The red is from the Shinigami Eyes filter, labeling Zuby and Ricky as known transphobes. Additionally, Aja's name is filled with TERF signals. The gender signs and the colors of the three hearts.
Alex forgot that likes are public and that his followers can see them. So when a few concerned former fans of his were on Twitter, they saw this on their timeline. Naturally, the ones who were either trans themselves or allies of the trans community were concerned. They reached out to Alex, expressing disappointment or confusion on why he would like this tweet. Many of them hoped that this was a mistake of some kind.
Instead of answering or reassurance that he has any support of his trans fans, he blocked them. He blocked anyone who called him out on this and said absolutely nothing. The only other thing he did was quietly remove his like from Zuby's tweet.
A lot of people were angry. Understandably. Some because they were upset that he would support a transphobic "joke" in any capacity and others were mad at trans people/allies for being mad at Alex. There was a lot of arguing, and people exposing their true colors.
I ended up being called to Twitter towards the end of the climax after being notified on here about what was happening. Just some of the things I saw
People being openly transphobic, as though Alex liking that tweet gave them the go-ahead to spew hate speech at any trans person they saw.
A self-proclaimed "bleeding heart liberal" who tried to play devil's advocate and actually spewed a lot of transphobic rhetoric while defending (but saying she wasn't defending) her favorite white man and telling trans people they were overreacting to a "joke" made at our expense
Some rant about cancel culture that had no point and wasn't actually relevant. Exposing the fact that anyone agreed to it, didn't actually know the difference between "cancel culture" and accountability
People pulling every excuse possible out of thin air. Such as "he was hacked" about a pattern of behavior he has been shown to routinely have over the course of 4/5 years.
People who claimed to be trans allies openly defend transphobic people and their rhetoric, claiming that it was a defense of Alex. Also continued to openly interact with said transphobes from bullet one.
Trans people who no longer felt safe in this fandom
Trans people who no longer felt safe to even watch the show or to ship nace/like Ace as a character
People condemning Alex for his behavior and explaining exactly why it is bad and harmful. Shout out to that one person who reminded me and others in the fandom that Alex once played a trans woman on a TV show, and now is supporting hate speech made against them. Putting profit over progress.
Also trying to explain that in following these people and liking their tweets he is supporting them, their ideas, and giving them a platform to spew their hatred.
Idiots who think that comedians framing bigotry as a joke isn't actually harmful. Calling what we do "Toxic PC bullshit." Failing to understand the difference between punching down and punching up. I've said it before and I'll say it again being a comedian doesn't give someone a free pass to make fun of the issues in marginalized communities
Other idiots who fail to understand that racism, transphobia, and other forms of bigotry aren't just someone wishing death/pain upon the minority they hate and enacting that wish for themselves.
Yes, that is the short version of some of the worst things that I saw. Also more or less, a summary of the things that happened.
We were also accused of causing his girlfriend to break up with him and delete any photo of him on Instagram. I guess they didn't think that we would check because we did and neither of those things is true.
Where we are now: Things are quiet. I think people have more or less chosen their side when it comes to this and stuck to them. I, and a few others, are not letting these issues be forgotten as though they were a typical fandom debate. It's more than that.
Additionally, from what I know, no one on the cast/crew/whatever has spoken up about this behavior. Such as active support of trans lives in a way that specifically is denouncing the hate speech that Alex is supporting. If anyone has done anything without a reference to Alex or his behavior, that's great.
Just for the record, I care more about spreading this information around than I do about getting him fired/replace/killed off. I do support people who do want that because they are valid for having those feelings. I don't have a horse to bet on for this. If any official action from the show is made in regards to this drama, it's their decision. Not mine. Not anyone else's.
Here is another link for the google doc for the people just coming into this situation through this post or others who just feel like looking at it.
TW for transphobia, racism, ableism, eugenics, sexism, antisemitism, and even some islamophobia.
As usual, I do encourage and support those who want to go to Alex's likes or follow list for themselves. There are a few people that are not on the google doc, but fit in with the people on there. I will give you an additional TW for domestic/spousal/child abuse from some of the people on there as well as sexual assault mention
Thank you for reading this far (if you have). Have a safe and wonderful evening
~Lachesis

Sorry if this is a silly question but if playing Hogwarts Legacy is transphobic isn't playing cyberpunk 2077 transphobic as well. I remember there being a lot of evidence against CDPR and the "mix-it-up" ad. I guess no one there funds genocide (I think) but still, just trying to wrap my head around how to consume media ethically. Thanks if you don't want to answer it's ok. ~cyberpunkfan
I don’t know why you’re asking me of all people but way I see it, is Hogwarts legacy is funding an active terf lobbying against trans rights and putting their money and fame into it, also her work has been criticised for anti-semitism and instead of moving away from that image seems to have doubled down even more on it. Whereas cyberpunk I haven’t heard anything about that ad so I guess it was a while ago? As far as I’m aware cyberpunk team isn’t trying to promote terf values and isn’t funding them and isn’t sticking by their guns about it? Never seen or heard about the ad maybe someone who has would want to comment on it because I do not know but if it turned out they are heavily transphobic and funding anti trans legislation and the trans community ask me to not buy the game I would drop them immediately (but since I haven’t played the game in what 6 months? I can’t see how I can do any less that I am doing right now which is nothing)
So I guess when consuming media ethically I guess is the media trying to be better and learn from their mistakes and values?
Cuz Hogwarts legacy is a resounding no
But since you call yourself a cyberpunk fan why have you bought the game and play it? Or more likely why is a Hogwarts legacy Stan asking me if a game I played *check notes* months ago with no recent updates about is just as transphobic as purchasing blood libel the video game

A Short Little Review of "Straight" by Chuck Tingle
Tumblr media
[this was cross posted from my Goodreads account]
In certain realms of online culture, Chuck Tingle is a bit of an icon, and this book certainly shows that. For an author who is known for outrageous and funky queer erotica, this novella is a tonal whiplash compared to the rest of Tingle's works that I read and I adored every word.
Taking place in a world where, once a year, the cis straight population goes berserk, wanting nothing more than to tear apart everyone and anyone who falls in the queer spectrum, during an event called Saturation day. The book follows a group of friends from all across the LGBT spectrum, who flee to Joshua Tree to wait out the Saturation Day. But, in true horror novel fashion, things go very wrong very quickly and now this group has to fight for their lives against shitass berserk zombielike cis straight people.
As a member of the queer community, reading this horror novella out of all things was incredibly cathartic. I could feel the frustrations and even the rage of the main character and narrator, Issac, a bisexual man just trying to survive in a world that wants to literally tear him apart. As someone who is bisexual myself and often questions my place in the queer community, I saw myself in Issac, as someone who just wants to stop hiding, to feel validated and accepted by a community he loves, and to be unapologetically himself, bisexuality and all. Hell, I even teared up a bit at the end when Tingle wrote, "I now know our survival is not predicted on the conditional help of fair-weathered allies, or even the rock-solid kindness of outsiders who put in the work. We've made it this far because of each other". Who knew that it would be a little horror novella that would make me emotional.
Also not to mention I adored all the characters and fell in love with all of them within the span of a few pages. That is when you know that there is some pretty good writing afoot. I loved Jason, Issac, Hazel, and Nora were a treat to follow and I rooted for them the entire ride. It was fun to see these four people, all with different backgrounds, sexualities, and experiences coming together as one to help each other, lift each other up, and make sure everyone gets out alive. I didn't care much for Brandon though, he was, as Nora put it, a "Typical straight ally".
Maybe I'm taking this book too seriously due to my personal experiences and background, but I still believe that this novella is worth the read. It doesn't matter if you're straight and cis or tans and gay, it's a good story, a fun story, and it's only 122 pages so its a fairly quick read. No skin off your back. And yes, while there are some grammatical errors in this book, it's not so distracting as to take you out of the experience. Honestly, with the amount of indie-published books I've read in the past, a few grammar mistakes here or there is kind of unavoidable in certain cases. Hell, I'm no grammar expert myself, so I wouldn't be surprised if there were a few more I didn't pick up on while being sucked into the story.
Remember, stay unapologetically yourself buckaroos! <3
(next on my list is Trans Wizard Harriet Porber bc fuck J.K. Rowling's terf ass)

Yeah I agree, he loves throwing them...a huge celebration of them just being terfs, the entire celebration is rewarding them for being amazing and absolutely nothing goes wrong, in fact, if his favourite terfs (all of them) ever got hurt it would ruin him forever.
In what world are you living in? Papyrus has friends who are trans, and non-binary.
If you’re trying to be funny and just be a troll, get the fuck out of my inbox and my feed.
I don’t know who you are and you’re lucky you’re hiding behind an anon ask. It was a mistake to add it back and you’re the last anon I’m ever going to humor on this app. I’m not going to have any discussions because you clearly just want to make me angry, but I’m putting this out to say if you are transphobic or homophonic I will block without any other questions.
