Also since I brought up pirate Bakugou and his sea witch + plus I’ve been reading greek myths again, I would like to add he proposed without knowing it the first time.

He had brought her a bunch of apples on one of his return trips and tossed one to her, not knowing her catching it means she accepts his proposal or that tossing an apple could be considered a marriage proposal.

..."Shit, you're burning up," Adam says, frowning as Vince shakes off the hand pressed to his forehead. "What are you doing out of bed, baby?" "I've gotta go to my morning class," Vince mutters, rubbing his eyes exhaustedly. "I forgot to turn on my alarm, I guess. 'M gonna be late." It's really a testament to how sick he is that Adam can stop him from moving just by putting a hand on his arm. "I was the one who turned off your alarm, baby You aren't going to class today," he says gently. "You need to rest. You can barely stand." Vince squints at him unhappily, an expression that would normally be cute if his eyes weren't so glassy with exhaustion and his cheeks weren't so pink with fever. "What'm I s'posed to do all day, then?" he asks. He makes a weak, vague gesture at Adam. "You're goin' to work. Am I just gonna be here alone the whole time?" Adam glances down at the suit he put on this morning, barely hesitating for a moment before saying, "I called out of work to take care of you today, baby. Neither of us are leaving this penthouse until you feel better." Vince squints even more at him. "Really?" Adam nods seriously. "Really. I can order some ice cream for you. We can watch Peaky Blinders on the couch." He knows Vince probably doesn't feel well enough to eat more than crackers and maybe soup right now, and he's definitely going to fall asleep during the show, but it's the idea that matters. Vince considers it for a moment longer, then seems to give in. "Okay," he says. "But you've gotta help me with all the homework I'm gonna be behind on when I get back to school." "Deal," Adam says, smiling. "Go change out of your school clothes and get into something cozy, baby. I'll get the living room ready." He watches Vince go, knowing his boyfriend will come back wearing at least one article of his clothing, possibly more. He waits until Vince is fully out of the room, then pulls out his phone and sends a quick text. From Adam: I can't come in today, I'm sorry. Something came up. He's halfway through setting up the ginger ale and crackers in the living room when the response from his partners comes in. From Gourdo: this is the worst time to be doing this bud. we've got shareholder meeting today From Jordy: Adam, the shareholders meeting is today. We need all four partners of the firm to be there. From Gourdo: this better be important Lars From Schwartzy: are you dying or kidnapped or something? you NEVER call out of work Adam rolls his eyes at his firm partners' dramatics. I'm not dying. Something important came up. I'll be into the office in a couple days, he sends, and then he powers off his phone altogether before the torrent of disbelieving responses can come flooding in. He hears a sound in the entryway of the large living area and looks up, smiling at the sight of his boyfriend dressed in one of his hoodies and a pair of his sweats. "Come on, baby, come get cozy," Adam says, fluffing a pillow and gesturing at the couch. "I'm gonna fall asleep on you," Vince says, like that's a threat, shuffling over to the couch. "I'm gonna drool on your $2000 suit." It's a $3500 suit, but Adam isn't going to tell him that. "That's perfectly fine, baby," he says, sitting down and opening his arms for Vince to melt into. He can always buy another suit, after all. This? Getting to hold his lover in his arms and feel the way he melts like putty against Adam's chest? This is worth far more than any suit, any penthouse apartment, and any law firm. It's priceless. Adam kisses Vince on the top of his head, hands him a glass of water, and settles in to enjoy the show.
