my courses started today and I slept like 2 hours, but still I’m not feeling too bad about this autumn currently. Ik it’s gonna be very busy bc got bunch of courses and one of them is a big one which will take most of my time and will have to juggle to fit the rest in somehow. But idk, I have faith I’ll make it work (tim gunn) somehow.

Anyways, I got books this saturday! Bought a french translation of a finnish book, which is a weird move from a finnish person (I’ve read it in finnish already and it’s one of my fave books ever, so I figured it would get me to actually read in my very rusty french. Plus I’m curious abt the translation bc the language in it is very rich, so seeing how they translated that is going to be very interesting (it will take forever to read yes))

So I was reviewing the official designs for Asha and Aster and realized I was drawing Asha’s hair wrong. Oops. So I drew her “correct” hair in her past version. Amazigh girls usually get their first tattoos during puberty, that’s why I didn’t draw Asha with hers yet.

Also I know Aster didn’t conjure up a little Asha in the story, but I wanted to draw past Asha. Got any guesses from where I got little Asha’s outfit from?

The glowing eyes of Aster’s… yeah they look a bit creepy. Idk. It’s a cop-out for drawing hands bc they are the worst Disney villain ever, so this way I don’t have to draw hands

I wonder if the people working on Starsky and Hutch knew how much of an impact they would be making on the buddy cop genre. Many cop shows that came out after it had that S&H influence in them, though some might not have been as open/honest/loud about the intentions of the partnership(s) on their shows. But it’s kinda weird how these shows have kinda given me a new perspective on love stories or just love in general. I LATCHED onto these unconventional-ish relationships on screen, like I want to study them and take them apart and put them back together again 😭

reading theatre of the unimpressed and thinking about how Frustrating it was that people’s number one complaint (majors and audience alike) with polaroid stories was that it didn’t make sense (which was really to say it didn’t follow a realistic/coherent chronology). why are you in theater if you just want to replicate realism. film is a wonderful medium for that and it’s exactly why i know that i don’t want to work in film. literally over half of the people in this program i just want to shake and yell WHY THEATRE WHY THEATRE WHY THEATRE. like if you can’t answer that and continue to answer it as it changes What are you Doing here

Apparently staraptor living in boyleland have redder plumage. They’re still mostly grey, but they’re tipped with that same red clay color that the rest of the area is made of. I’m going to follow a few around to see if the plumage difference has any behavioral impacts.
