You lunge at him, shoved him but of course his body wouldn't budge. Your fists hit his chest and he smiles down at you. Damn Enji. Fuck Enji. You stand on your tiptoes and tugs his collar down to make him kiss you. There was no love there. It was all twisted hatred. Bites. Taste of iron. Teeth. And fuck, you open your eyes in a haze. You didn't even notice how he had your legs wrapped around his waist. This was madness. You'll fuck his brains out but still, you pray you wouldn't get pregnant. Not yet anyway. Not when he's obsessed with All Might.
"I hate you." You glared at him, grabbing the back of his head.
He groans. "I'm giving you until the end of the year. If you're not pregnant with my child by then..."
"You're fucked in the head." Because you were a vindictive bitch.

You stop and stared at the newly dugged out garden and the array of flowers the gardener was planting. Daffodils. Chrysanthemums. Sunflowers. Violets. Your favorites.

"Capable of what?" Curiosity got the better of you whenever Enji was involved.
"Giving flowers to his wife." The old woman smiled at you warmly.
"This is him giving flowers?"
The housecook laughed boisterously, patting her poor heart at the bewildered expression on your face. Oh dear, you had a long way to go. "David Shield, that colleague of his, brought you flowers as thanks for dinner, yes?"
You nodded.
"Enji, that boy never lets himself be outdone by others. A bouquet of flowers lasts a few days, ma'am, but a garden of flowers? As long as there's rain and sunshine, it lasts a lifetime." She looks into your eyes, willing you to understand.
So those flowers that happened to be your favorites weren't happenstance at all. The housecook refrains from commenting on how your face turned into a lovely shade of red.

Todoroki Enji was a damn bastard, no contest. He deliberately avoids you, choosing to work night shifts because he likes to torture you. After giving that ultimatum, you were anxious to just get it on. You'd rather be damned than let Enji get ahold of Rei. No. You'd die of shame if your sisters sees your sorry state. The bruises. The screaming matches. The anxiousness. There's no way in hell you'd let her go through what you did. Out of the two of you, you were the fighter. Your parents even said that when your mom gave birth you kicked and screamed and had your mom suffer pushing you out while Rei's delivery was smooth. He knew that hitting you doesn't hurt you as much anymore. As the shock wears off, you fought with Enji more and more, not wanting to submit to him. This was a new kind of torture. Not when you can do something about it.
You were wearing in a casual kimono inspired white dress. Short sleeved, flared skirt just above the knees, floral and the obi red. You let your hair down and had put on a very very red rouge. You were sitting on his swivel chair when Enji arrived. He stops in his tracks, dumbfounded at your appearance.
"Haven't seen my husband for weeks. Thought I'd drop the workplace a visit." You greet him with a nod.
His throat felt dry. You shoot him a lazy smile knowing exactly what you do to him. He might not hold you dear but you knew he was attracted to you.
He cleared his throat. "I know what you're doing."
You raised an eyebrow, smile hanging on your pretty red lips.
"I'll come to you when I want. If you're anxious with my ultimatum you would only have yourself to blame." He frowns at you, noticing how your the sleeves on your shoulders were translucent.
You stood up slowly, skirt flowing, you gather hair in a bun and his cock jumped at the sight of nipple, visible and jutting against the other transparent fabric. The whole dress was translucent but you had a half slip skirt underneath. He closes the distance and kissed you roughly. Your gasp that he swallowed had him grinding his bulge against you as he clears his desk and sits you on it.
"What a proper wife you are." He growled, taking your chin and pressing with force. It only made you smile smugly. "You were walking around in this?! With only your hair to hide your chest?!"

Politics stress me out. I made this blog with the hopes that people exhausted from being bombarded with politics every minute won’t have to deal with it here. If you bring politics onto my blog I will knife you.
And no, that does not mean I “don’t care” about certain issues. What it means is that I want this to be separate from the blog.
And as a side note, no mentions of Tr*mp on this blog are allowed. I ended up deleting a submission because of it.
Headcanons go in the submissions. Non-headcanon content goes in the asks.
Unless you’re sending an image or video to me, send it as an ask if it’s not a headcanon or quote. If it is a headcanon, please PLEASE send it as a submission and not an ask. It’s so much easier to post a submission than an ask because when headcanons are sent as asks I feel obligated to respond to it in some way and it almost feels repetitive when I’m saying one of the same three phrases repeatedly.
The one exception I will allow is if you’re specifically asking for feedback regarding said headcanon.
If you want to submit a headcanon but are worried about being anonymous, tell me in your submission that you want to be listed as anonymous and I will say it was submitted by anonymous.
When sending a submission, write it as best you can. Do your best to make sure there are no typos, and USE PROPER CAPITALIZATION. PLEASE.
This isn’t as necessary with asks since I’m not going to be able to edit your own ask, but at the very least make it readable.
I understand not everyone speaks English as their first language. I also understand that many people who are learning English as a second/third/etc. language may speak broken English. This is not what I’m talking about.
What I’m talking about is when a submission is sent in which none of the names are capitalized or the submission is littered with typos. Most browsers/computers have spell checkers installed. If you struggle with spelling, you can use that.
I’m not asking you to write your submissions like a formal essay. I just ask that you try to keep your posts as close to posting quality as possible. The reason this is an issue for me is because I try to make sure the posts on this blog are high quality, and when I have to go through and fix every capitalization error it makes posting submissions/asks even slower than usual for me.
If you’re sending an incorrect quote, include the source. If there is no source, say there’s no source.
Keep the discourse to a minimum! Please!
Discourse stresses me out. There’s way too much of it on this site. Let me have ONE (1) part of this website where discourse is no issue.
LGBTQ+ gatekeepers (ace exclusionists/homophobes/biphobes/etc.) are not allowed.
Asexuals are LGBTQ+. Trans people are LGBTQ+. Bi/pan people are LGBTQ+. If you try to imply that a particular LGBTQ+ identity isn’t LGBTQ+ then you will be blocked. Simple as that.
Racism, sexism, ableism, etc. of any variety is not allowed.
If asks and submissions are closed, that means that they are closed.
I know I’m not the quickest at answering asks and submissions, but please wait. You can ask to make sure there isn’t some bug or error, but please don’t just DM a headcanon at random if the asks and submissions are closed. I won’t post it until it’s posted in my inbox. If you need to write it down to remember it, do so.
If I accidentally post anything that goes against these rules (aside from the headcanons in the asks thing, that I can deal with for now), tell me and I will delete the post (or fix it, if the change is minor).
I will admit that I can be on the naive side. I may post something on accident that goes against what I want to have on this blog. If it breaks the rules, tell me so I can delete it.
Only add tags that apply directly to your submission. Don’t go through and blindly click every tag.
Tag headcanons with the “smashy headcanons” and “headcanon” tags. Tag incorrect quotes with the “smashy quotes” and “incorrect quote” tags. And, if you are the person who came up with the quote and it didn’t originally come from somewhere else, THEN you can use the “source: original” tag; if it did come from somewhere else, please refer to rule 5 and INCLUDE THE SOURCE SO I CAN PUT IT IN THE TAGS!
If there is an image in your submission, add the “image” tag. If there’s a video, add the “video” tag. Use common sense when tagging your submissions and tag them like you would add tags to your own posts (i.e. not adding a bunch of unnecessary things that don’t apply).
FAQ
Q: Is NSFW content allowed?
A: No, this blog is strictly SFW. Any NSFW submissions will not be posted, and NSFW asks will not be answered.
Q: What do you mean by “TP” Link? Who is Raichu?
A: There is a separate page on this blog explaining this topic in detail. I recommend looking at it if you’re new.
Q: Is there a smashy-headcanons Discord server? Will you make one?
A: There is not one and there are no plans to make one. Assume that the answer is no unless I specifically say otherwise. Also, please don’t make one yourself. If there’s going to be a discord for the blog, I want to be the one to make it.
Q: Can we request headcanons for a particular character?
A: Sure, go ahead. It might take a while and I usually only do about 1-5 per ask, but I will try.
Q: I’m seeing other people’s submissions on the blog, but there’s no submission link. Is something broken?
A: If that’s the case, then check between Thursday 10am CST and Friday 10am CST. If they’re not open by then, then I probably turned them off because I had a lot of stuff in my inbox. Don’t send submissions as a private message; I turned them off for a reason.
Q: Are we allowed to ask questions that aren’t headcanon-related?
A: Absolutely! It can be Smash-related or it can just be something random. It doesn’t even necessarily have to be a question.
Q: Can we request headcanons for a particular pairing?
A: To a limited extent, I will give you ship-related headcanons. I won’t guarantee that I’ll answer yours, since I try to keep ship-related headcanons somewhat limited. That doesn’t mean you can’t tell me about your ship or ask about it. It’s just with headcanons that I try to keep them limited.
Links, Pikachu Line, Dr. Mario, and the Pokemon Trainers
You may notice I use different tags for the different Link/Zelda/Ganondorf incarnations, and that I refer to not only Pichu and Pikachu, but Raichu as well. I’m gonna go in detail on my explanation on the different terminology I use, but there’ll be a simplified reference afterward.
Links:
Young Link (MM Link) and Toon Link (WW Link), who have their own titles in Smash, are tagged as “young link” and “toon link” respectively, since that is what they are called in Smash Bros. With some Links, I add the abbreviation for the game the incarnation is from, as is the case with Breath of the Wild Link, Ocarina of Time Link, and (sometimes) Twilight Princess Link, whom I tag with “botw link”, “oot” link", and “tp link” respectively.
Prior to Smash Bros. Ultimate, I used to refer to TP Link as just “Link”, so if you see a post mentioning/tagging just Link, know that the post is referring to TP Link. From now on, whichever incarnation of Link is being referred to will be explicitly stated.
I won’t worry much about specifying Zelda or Ganondorf’s incarnation, so just assume it’s either all incarnations or the most recently used one, unless the post specifies otherwise. In the case that I have to specify which one is being discussed, I will use the same shortening of the game titles as I do with Link (e.g. TP Zelda or OoT Ganondorf), but since there is now Zelda from A Link Between Worlds, I will refer to her as ALBW Zelda.
Pikachu Line:
My headcanon is that the Pikachu from SSB64 and SSBM is different than the Pikachu from SSBB, SSB4, and SSBU.
Furthermore, I headcanon that SSB64/SSBM Pikachu evolved into Raichu and is no longer participating in Smash Bros, and SSBB+ Pikachu is the Pichu from Super Smash Bros. Melee. The Pichu in SSBU is a different Pichu that’s new to Smash.
There is also a female Pikachu that was introduced in SSBU, and I will be referring to her as Pikette (suggested by mushroomfusion245). Additionally, apparently Pikachu Libre is going to be in SSBU; she will be called Pikachu Libre and tagged as “pikachu l”. Additionally, the Spiky-eared Pichu is in Smash as Pichu’s alternate costume, so I will tag her as “spiky eared pichu”.
Mario and Dr. Mario
This is a relatively recent change, but Mario and Dr. Mario are considered two separate people on the blog, with the latter being the father of the former (and Luigi). They will be tagged separately as well.
Pokemon Trainer Stuff
Since SSBU was announced to have both Red and Leaf and their Pokemon, I realized I’d have to tag them individually, as well as their Pokemon. That way, we can come up with headcanons for all of them.
I’ll use the tags “red”, “ivysaur”, “charizard”, and “squirtle” for Red and his Pokemon. For Leaf and her Pokemon, I’ll use “leaf”, “l ivysaur”, “l charizard”, and “l squirtle” to distinguish. The only difference between the tags and the names I’ll use is for Leaf’s Pokemon, which I will specify is Leaf’s Pokemon. For example, while I would call Red’s Charizard just Charizard, I would call Leaf’s Charizard “Leaf’s Charizard”.
Long story short, SSBU made stuff a lot more complicated.

My 100 Favorite Albums of the 2000s: #20-#11
I've had so much fun posting this list and revisiting this music that I'm kind of bummed that I've almost reached the end. So I've decided to keep going! I still have the list of my last few difficult cuts that nearly made my top 100, so I will be doing a couple more posts of honorable mentions. I get to write about a few more albums I love, and those who aren't completely burned out on my writing can continue to follow along. But before we get to any of that, here are some of my favorite albums ever.
20. American Hi-Fi - American Hi-Fi (2001)
I was 13 when "Flavor of the Weak" hit the radio and I was completely smitten. In a lot of ways I think my current music tastes (and the kind of songs I'm drawn to writing) can be traced back to this album, with its slickly-produced alt rock sound and catchy-as-hell pop influence. "Safer on the Outside" is still one of my favorite examples of the huge-chorus-that-explodes-out-of-a-quiet-verse trick. "I'm a Fool" was the first of countless hopeless romantic anthems that I would relate to all too personally over the ensuing years. "My Only Enemy" was my introduction to screaming vocals. "Don't Wait for the Sun" educated me on the acoustic ballad that tears you apart during the back half of all of the best albums. Looking back now, I learned everything I needed to know from American Hi-Fi.
19. Motion City Soundtrack - I Am the Movie (2003)
I Am the Movie was one of the first albums I bought without the benefit of hearing a single on the radio. The Internet had started to vastly expand my avenues for musical discovery, and one of my first finds was Motion City Soundtrack. Yahoo! used to have a page where new music videos were posted, and it was there that I heard "My Favorite Accident" and "The Future Freaks Me Out." I found the album at a music store near Ocean City, MD while my parents were having a marathon shopping spree at the outlets. The rest of that shopping trip was spent with headphones on and my portable CD player in tow, getting acquainted with these quirky, spastic, utterly captivating pop rock songs. It was a pleasure to follow Motion City Soundtrack's career through six albums, and I've always felt lucky to have been "in" on them from the very beginning. Though Commit This to Memory and Even If It Kills Me are classics in their own right, I'll always have a soft spot for the album that introduced me to Motion City Soundtrack, back at a time when it still felt like you could discover a new band that no one else had ever heard of.
18. Under the Influence of Giants - Under the Influence of Giants (2006)
Earlier in this list, I wrote about discovering and falling head over heels for a little-known band called Home Town Hero, who played the side stage at the legendary (to me only) Weezer show of 2002. In the years after ingesting their debut album, I checked their website frequently hoping for news of a follow-up album. Eventually, one appeared, posted quietly for download on their website after they had been dropped from their label and left with no other way to release the music. It was called Bitch City and it was my In Rainbows one year before Radiohead revolutionized digital music distribution by giving their album away for free. I couldn't believe that I was getting this highly-anticipated sophomore album with no strings attached. I also couldn't believe this was the same band, because Bitch City sounded nothing at all like Home Town Hero. It had elements of indie, pop, rock, dance, funk, you name it. I was shocked and confused at first, and then quickly became enamored. The drastic change in sound led the band to reinvent themselves as Under the Influence of Giants. (I propose that Bitch City should be retconned as an Under the Influence of Giants album, even though it was originally released as Home Town Hero. Not only is the sound way more in line with the band's output as Under the Influence of Giants, Bitch City songs were performed during Under the Influence of Giants live sets. Case closed.) Anyway, Bitch City should probably be the one featured here as I still listen to it several times a year, but instead I'll go with the band's only properly-released album, which is much easier to track down and has some nice cover art for this list. Under the Influence of Giants is every bit as good as Bitch City, and it has the benefit of major label production. I can't pick a weak track on this album, which seamlessly blends many genres and influences into one of the most unique and spellbinding tracklists I've ever heard. I am glad that Aaron Bruno found the success he deserves with AWOLNATION, but damn do I wish he would have found that success with Under the Influence of Giants.
17. Copeland - Eat, Sleep, Repeat (2006)
Copeland opened a few shows I attended before I was familiar with their music, and I always found their live set kind of samey and low-energy. My opinion of the band completely changed when You Are My Sunshine was released in 2008 and became the soundtrack to my senior year of undergrad. After falling so hard for that album, I naturally dove into the band's back catalog and discovered Eat, Sleep, Repeat, which I've grown to love even more. It nods toward the heart-on-sleeve ethereal sound of Sunshine while also keeping one foot in the alt-rock world where Copeland made a name for themselves with their first two albums Beneath Medicine Tree and In Motion. There's the jittery "Where's My Head," the gorgeous piano-led "Love Affair," and the deliciously emo "I'm Safer in an Airplane" rubbing elbows with toe-tappers like "Eat, Sleep, Repeat," "Control Freak," and "I'm a Sucker for a Kind Word." A masterful showcase of everything that Copeland does well.
16. Pilot Speed - Into the West (2006)
I had only heard the single "Barely Listening" before picking up Into the West on a whim. I remember sitting in the Best Buy parking lot and putting the CD into the player in my dad's Lincoln Navigator. I remember the opening notes of "Knife-Grey Sea" washing over me and knowing right away that I was in for a sweeping, epic listen. The songs on Into the West ebb and flow like few I've ever heard. Frontman Todd Clark's vocals are incredibly expressive, building from a whisper to a wail in most of these songs. Pilot Speed are masters of building, holding, and releasing tension. "Barely Listening" is still one of my favorite songs and never fails to give me chills. "Don't Stare" is an eight-minute epic that somehow goes by without me ever noticing the runtime. Something about the way these songs unfold gives me an incredible feeling of catharsis with every listen.
15. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - B.R.M.C. (2001)
In 2001, The Strokes opened my eyes to garage rock and taught me that singers do not have to have a high, nasally voice to be appealing. It took me a while to pick up the debut album by Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, but when I did they finished breaking down the door that The Strokes had cracked open. The singles "Love Burns" and "Whatever Happened to My Rock 'n' Roll (Punk Song)" were impossibly cool, and the rest of the album followed suit. This is just great, straightforward, guitar-bass-and-drums rock 'n' roll. The loud moments crash through the speakers, while the quieter moments have this aloof confidence that makes me feel like I'm hanging out with the brooding, ambiguously dangerous crowd that I never would have fit in with. Every song from this album has become a classic in my opinion, but over time "As Sure As the Sun" has revealed itself as the song. That bassline. Yes.
14. Jack's Mannequin - The Glass Passenger (2008)
We've reached the first appearance of one of my favorite songwriters, Andrew McMahon, but not the last. When McMahon put Something Corporate on the backburner to embark on his solo project Jack's Mannequin, I was skeptical at best. I had a strong allegiance to SoCo, and I had morals, y'know? I'm not sure why a new band from one of my favorite artists seemed icky to me at the time, but I didn't even bother to listen to Everything in Transit until a few months after its release. Of course, I fell in love with it in spite of my orneriness, and by the time The Glass Passenger was released I was salivating for more. Many consider this album uneven, or at least strongly prefer Transit, but these coming of age songs hit me just at the right time to soundtrack the summer before my final year in undergrad. The songs of a man finding his footing in the world post-leukemia were the songs that questioned and romanticized the path to adulthood unfolding ahead of me. The Glass Passenger made me feel like I could embrace the unknown.
13. Matchbox Twenty - Mad Season (2000)
Back when I was still listening to Top 40 radio, a little song called "3 A.M." caught my ear. I saw the CD at Caldor (may have been KMart, but I'm taking this rare chance to shout out Caldor) and managed to get my parents to buy it for me. I had no concept of following specific artists at the time, so I was amazed when I knew three other tracks on the album ("Real World," "Push," and "Back 2 Good") from the radio. I hadn't even considered that there could be multiple songs on the radio from one album. I also remember some of the grungier songs on the back half of the album making me a bit uncomfortable - I wasn't used to music with an edge! When Mad Season was released a couple years later I was substantially more well-versed in the music industry and had been seeing the video for "Bent" on VH1 ad nauseam. At first I was a bit put off by the change in Matchbox Twenty's sound, but soon enough I was singing along with "Mad Season" and "Last Beautiful Girl" and bobbing my head to "Crutch." I felt the heartbreak in ballads like "Rest Stop," "Bed of Lies," and "You Won't Be Mine" before I even had the courage to speak to a human of the opposite sex. The first three Matchbox Twenty albums carry a ton of nostalgia, but they also hold up incredibly well.
12. Eve 6 - Horrorscope (2000)
For some reason I have a detailed memory of standing at a friend's open locker in middle school and watching him pull Horrorscope covertly off the top shelf. I can't remember if we weren't supposed to have CDs in school at the time or if it was just the Parental Advisory sticker on the cover alongside the woman with pursed lips and purple hair that made it feel taboo. The content was definitely edgy for 13-year old Kyle, with tales of depraved sexual rendezvous ("Rescue," "Nocturnal," probably all of the tracks at some point or another), threats of suicide ("On the Roof Again"), drug use ("Amphetamines"), and a song called "Sunset Strip Bitch." But my impressionable mind was neither warped nor intimidated by the lyrics, which were wrapped in a carefree, tongue-in-cheek, highly-infectious package. Max Collins weaves clever and playful turns of phrase throughout the album, with sharp pop melodies and a unique penchant for alliteration. Horrorscope still holds up remarkably well 20 years later. Bops aplenty here, from well-known singles "Here's to the Night" and "Promise" to hidden gems like late-album cut "Bang," my darkhorse pick for best chorus in the band's catalog. I saw Eve 6 in Towson, MD on my 21st birthday and I sent them a message on Myspace beforehand requesting a performance of "Bang" as a gift. They responded to my message, but did not honor my request. I've made my peace with it. Not salty at all.
11. The Strokes - Is This It (2001)
When "Last Nite" was all over the radio and MTV in late 2001, I was enamored with it almost immediately. It sounded classic, but also like nothing I had ever heard before (to be fair, at 14 years old I hadn't heard much). I got Is This It on CD that Christmas, and listened to it while obsessively playing my new Xbox (yes, the OG). At first, I wasn't grabbed by the album, which didn't feature the crunchy guitars and high-pitched vocals I'd been accustomed to. I wasn't sure what this band was doing, but instead of hitting me over the head with the hooks, it was like they were making me come to them. A few listens later, the effortless cool of The Strokes had fully enveloped me. Credit Is This It with opening me up to a swath of completely new sounds and genres.

Yet another Ageswap-AU ask because oh my god ever since you said something about Toshinori not being able to control OFA I laugh every time I think about it. I'm just imagining the Alt!1-A kids all being in one room hanging out when there's this resounding CRASH! from some other room. Dead silence. Cue Toshinori yelling that everything's fine he's got it under control and where exactly is the broom again? And everybody just groans. The Human Bulldozer strikes again. (c)
And soon it becomes an in-class joke that you can’t leave Toshinori in a room unsupervised for longer than a minute because he will invariably break something. Even when he swears he didn’t even touch anything. I imagine it only gets worse when he starts shooting up like a weed and putting on muscle like a linebacker. His friends honestly just think it’s kinda funny and they only tease him good-naturedly but he still apologizes 1000000 times anyway.
DAMN, anon, this is like the third time you’ve come right into my inbox (assuming ur the Toshinko/Enji anon?? I’m p sure u are for several reasons but otherwise this makes for an incredibly comical situation where I pretend all anons are one person, in which case it’s more like five times lmao) and known JUST WHAT TO SAY and I friggin LOVE IT my dude.
This is e x a c t l y how it would go tho. Poor Toshinori can’t catch a break. Everyone in Ageswap 1-A learns to get used to ducking beneath his arms or swerving around him whenever he starts sparking with OfA or even just generally moving, because damn the guy can hit even without his quirk and he always feels bad when he smacks someone, no matter how lightly. He starts off really small too (like, almost Canon Izuku size and scrawny-ness), so it’s just so many levels of hilarious that this classmate of theirs is so clumsy with his own quirk and that he keeps messing things up. I mean, heck. I bet even just swinging an arm near things can break them when the swing is also OfA powered. No wonder he can’t be without supervision around delicates, he doesn’t even have to hit them!
All of Toshinori’s classmates and teachers are aware of the broom’s location in relation to Toshinori at any and all times. Deku is good at taking Toshinori’s hits both during and outside of training (“this is nothing, kid, don’t sweat it”) so he’s fine, and Inko joins the ranks of effortless dodgers (though she’d also be able to take the hits probably) along with Naomasa, Gran Torino, Nana, and all of 1-A.
Eventually he gets it under control, but no one can resist poking so much fun at him when it comes to being around breakables, ever. By the time Sports Festival rolls he’s mostly got it, though he’s still a bit prone to activating it sometimes if he isn’t paying attention. Deku jokes a lot that Toshinori’s penchant for breaking other things is a lot better than his own old penchant for breaking his own bones when he was new to OfA which, is kind of nice to hear but also a little horrifying bc really, what do you mean you broke your arms three times in two months, Deku-san, what the heck
But then the Growth Spurts start.
So like. @guardianlioness is the one who brought it up and thought up most of it back then but among 1-A, everyone gets their growth spurts at completely different times. The result is that at some point classmates like Ken/Cementoss and Toshinori and Enji are towering a foot or two taller than other classmates who get their growth spurts later, like Aizawa and Hizashi and Kayama/Midnight.
Enji has never been the shortest kid in their class but he still gets his first - he grows broad and tall with his body type totally different from his dad’s. At this time Toshi is like, middle to short height in their class. Enji jokes a lot about how maybe he can beat Toshi now, and he’s all “don’t worry, maybe you can catch up to my height someday”. If you remember the first few ageswap posts, you’ll also know why Enji is going to eat his words later.
Except, with OfA to boost his whole body, what would’ve already been a pretty impressive growth spurt gets SUPERCHARGED TIMES TEN and suddenly Toshinori and Enji have to get used to being like… twice the height they used to be. So many mysterious phantom bruises and broken objects from both of them as they adjust. It’s a lot of repetitive motion exercises for them, because there’s no way they’re going back into regular training until they can stop stumbling over themselves.
Unfortunately for Toshi, the Human Bulldozer jokes come back. With a vengeance. Plus, now that puberty has decided to start formally kicking his ass, his control has gone wonky again, which basically means even more stuff gets broken, which leads to more jokes. It’s just a terrible cycle at this point. He knows that his friends and family are just teasing and they don’t mind it that much, but it still makes him feel bad when he breaks things and he’ll apologize for ages if you let him.
He tries to brush off some of his mystery bruises as injuries from accidents or training (“fell down the stairs” is a popular one, along with “punched the bag too hard”) sometimes but it never works. Either the person just knows, or someone conveniently comes along to explain that no, Toshinori did not trip and bump into the wall or banister, he just misjudged his arm length again and instead of bashing it into a shelf, this time he slugged himself in the face. Yes, there are pictures. Yes, they are definitely going all over the internet. No, Toshinori, you can’t stop them, they’re already out there. Sorry buddy.
(Spoiler alert: they’re really not.)
Much like the wheelchair incident, it goes viral. Unlike the wheelchair incident, everyone knows it’s actually All Might when he was a student (as opposed to the mystery of very, very blurry young faces). As expected, once context is added, the world is officially in on the joke that All Might, one of society’s symbols of peace, cannot be left alone at all lest he accidentally bump into something and break everything in the process. Toshinori is long suffering about it outwardly but as with all good memes and jokes, he actually loves it. All of Ageswap 1-A love it.
And that’s the story of how Toshinori becomes famous for his ability to break things (or rather, his inability to stop breaking them), which is a detail that is only vaguely relevant but I thought you’d appreciate nonetheless.

Federal opioid limitations: Good intentions, bad outcomes
Today's guest author is Jon Rehm, Esq. of the Nebraska bar.
Senate Republicans and Democrats, including Presidential candidate Kirsten Gillibrand, have introduced legislation that would limit opioid prescriptions to a set number of days and limit refills. In my view such legislation would negatively impact people who were injured on the job.
I mostly agree with analysis of the legislation that was recently published in Rewire. One size fits all solutions don’t account for the needs of patients with chronic pain. Recently authors of the Centers for Disease Control guidelines for opioid prescriptions have stated that those guidelines have been misused to arbitrarily limit opioid prescriptions for pain management.
As a practical matter, in my experience prescriptions for opioids are already severely limited for injured workers. Statutory limits on opioids are a good excuse for insurers and self-insureds to wash their hands of future medical care obligations under workers compensation.
Opioid prescription limitations have other effects. Pain doctors who don’t prescribe opioids have more time to perform procedures. Procedures are more profitable for doctors and increase cost. Primary care doctors are often reluctant to prescribe opioids which puts more pressure on pain management doctors.
There are alternatives to opioids for pain management. Stem cell therapy has shown promise in treating pain. But insurers are reluctant to approve those options as that could increase costs for them and leave medical claims under workers’ compensation open.
I believe that opioid prescription monitoring is a better solution to fighting addiction than prescription limits. Those systems can flag potential problem users and get them help. In the case of someone hurt on the job who develops an addiction to pain medication, treatment for that addiction could be covered by workers compensation.
Massachusetts also developed what amounts to a drug court for opioids within their workers’ compensation court. Problem solving courts, like drug courts, are being increasingly used to help those with substance use issues in the criminal justice system. Massachusetts has adopted the idea in an administrative setting. Federal limits on opioid prescriptions would run counter to innovative programs put in place at a state and local level.
Workers compensation laws developed in the early 20th century when workplace safety laws could only be constitutionally enacted through state police powers under the 10th Amendment. Constitutional law evolved changed during the New Deal era which gave Congress broader regulatory powers over workplace safety and the economy in general.
As a result of the broadening of federal regulatory powers, federal laws limiting opioid prescriptions would likely be constitutional even if they interfered with innovative state programs like Massachusetts workers’ compensation opioid court. While the federal government seems to feel compelled to undercut state workers compensation laws to the detriment of workers, the federal government has given up on oversight of state workers compensation laws that could benefit workers.
The United States Department of Labor monitored state workers compensation laws as result of recommendations from the National Commission on State Workers Compensation Laws.The Commission set up 18 standards for state laws. The DOL stopped overseeing state workers compensation laws in 2004.
In 2015 several Senators and Congressional members, including then and current Presidential candidate, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, wrote to the Secretary of Labor about reinstating federal oversight of state workers compensation laws. Reporting by Pro Publica highlighted the shortcomings of state workers’ compensation laws The Department of Labor has made no progress on federal oversight of state workers’ compensation laws since then.
