Thanks haha I always gotta be Real, like I’m in a 17-year toxic relationship with this show where I do love it but also I’m a hater about a lot of it and it does inspire some real rants lmao, like do not get me started. Me and my gf will literally say 1 thing about scourge of my life heroes nbc and it WILL turn into a 4 hour analysis/yelling session. Or that one time I wrote 1700 words about Nathan Petrelli in response to an ask about him (you just had me reading through my own “heroes ramblings” tag and lmao, why am I actually so hilarious but also unhinged about this stupid 2000s nonsense. Get a grip anni.

ANYWAY that said, I was like really excited and enthused for heroes reborn at the time but it’s been long enough since I watched it (not since it aired, in comparison to ‘heroes classic’ which I’ve rewatched about 5 times since lol) that I honestly have forgotten pretty big chunks of it at this point. I think it being aired only 5 years after heroes ended meant there wasn’t enough nostalgic clamour for its return yet but it was also long enough that people probably kinda moved on already, it’s a really weird one. I appreciated seeing the returning characters but they fucked up or killed most of them anyway and they couldn’t get back some of the major players (including my personal blorbos lol, like cmon you couldn’t have pretended Nathan wasn’t dead just for me???). I also remember just not really caring about most of the new characters, the plot being kind of a stupid mess (I mean what’s new there, looking at you clusterfuck heroes s3, but at least I had my boys the petrellis despite everything lmao) and it just kind of being a giant letdown. Been a while though like I said. Gotta keep it real tho 😂

Anyway re your last point the petrellis are the most compelling thing about the show, the layers of Machiavellian Catholic incestuous unhingedness in that family are everything to me and what keeps me around. Most of the time Peter and Nathan are too ‘on the edge’ and Nathan is too goddam repressed for me to confidently headcanon anything beyond unholy levels of mutual obsession happened between them in canon, EXCEPT the villain!nathan scene where he’s like ‘there’s some things I needed to talk to you about that just couldn’t wait’ and pointedly bites his lip (oh they were about to fuck nasty there, mark my words) AND the entire s2 deleted scene where Nathan despairingly talks about getting young Peter drunk in their treehouse like he desperately wants to forget it but can’t. Are we so sure Taichi would take Izumi as his name? Maybe Koushiro would take Yagami. Or maybe the two would just hyphenate their names

Ooh okay so to preface it’s just the way I’m personally going, but it doesn’t have to be the fandom collective or the only way even of course!! Everyone can have their own head canons / opinions!! I kind of stole the tag from @seventeenlovesthree who started a whole discussion on the last name stuff and I think came up with most of the following points in summary:

1) If you take Kizuna into consideration, Koushirou is already established in a business and has centered that around his last name and why that’s a big deal is:

2) Koushirou is taking pride in the last name of his adoptive family. He clearly views both his biological parents and his adopted parents as important figures in his life even though he has never met the former. They are all his parents and his adoptive parents view him as their real son (explicitly said in the character files)

3) Even if you don’t really consider Kizuna, Koushirou keeping the last name of the parent’s who raised him is just really sweet and Taichi being considerate of that is also a really sweet concept to consider. Also to the first point, Taichi isn’t as established at the same time Koushirou is, so it’s much easier for him to adapt to going into politics as, “Izumi Taichi.”

4) it’s absolutely hilarious to think of Koushirou going scarlet every time Taichi’s gotta introduce himself as “Izumi Taichi” at important functions and evens the playing field if you think of Taichi liking it when Koushirou just calls him, “Taichi.”

5) like if nothing else imagine Kae and Masami’s delight that Koushirou wants to keep their last name.

I do like the hyphen names in general, but I don’t think it’s as common practice in Japan so the discussion erred on the side of using one name and I liked a lot of the points, but that doesn’t mean it’s gotta jive with everyone and of course fandom can have various alternatives!! So there’s no pressure to conform if your opinions or feelings are different-- or change them up for different scenarios.

It's been a long time coming! So happy for spring being finally here! Here's the long ass observation post you guys asked for. Since it's quite a big amount of observations, I've decided it'd be a good idea to number them so that it's easier to reference them. As always, enjoy them!

🌸 1. Lilith in the 2nd house can indicate something fishy going on with the relationship between the native’s parents.

🌱 2. Malefic placements such as pluto, chiron, Saturn or Lilith in the 12th indicates a lot of skeletons in the closet when it comes to family and family history

🌸 3. Chiron in Aries/1st house or Leo/5th house is kind of bitch placement. The person basically feels like they can’t be themselves and there’s a lot of self-denial and/or not accepting themselves, how they really are, what they really want, etc. Lots of self-esteem issues

🌱 4. People with sexual placements in the 2nd house (Mars, Venus, Lilith, Eros, ruler of the 8th house) base their self-worth on how sexually attractive they are. If they don't feel sexually desirable to everyone, they feel like they're shit

🌸 19. Just like you look at where’s the ruler of your rising sign to get more info on your rising, check the ruler of your Sun sign for more info on your personal identity (check sign and house). For ex. I have Virgo Sun in the 9th. Ruler of Virgo=Mercury. I have mercury in Libra in the 10th house which makes me more serious (10th house) and diplomatic/people pleaser (Libra)

🌱 20. If you found that you “couldn’t” do what’s previously described because you’re a Leo sun, check the degree and decan of your Sun

🌸 21. I’ve noticed mercury retrograde people are the type of individuals who always know exactly the right things to say. You’ll always see them take a couple of seconds before answering but they tend to give very good responses

🌱 22. I’ve noticed many women with Virgo Venus/Sun/MC/Lilith have been slut-shamed at some point of their life or they’ve been seen as promiscuous/sexual/etc.

🌸 23. Capricorn moons are not emotionless machines. The thing with these natives is that their mothers treated them like an adult the second they came out of the womb, so basically they skipped the “love and affection” stage and went straight to the “grow up” stage, but they can love really hard and real deep (Capricorn is deep down a very sentimental sign). They are very ride or die people tbh, they are very patient, accepting and understanding

🌱 24. I've noticed that people at first deny their rising sign in Vedic astrology, but eventually they end up accepting it and they actually end up relating to it a lot. I feel like this is because our rising sign in Vedic astrology is usually the sign of our 12th house in Western astrology, which leads me to believe that our 12th house sign is not our shadow side but more like our deep subcontious personality and that's why we have a hard time accepting it when we see it as our rising sign in Vedic astrology. It's like your rising sign (in western) is the director of the play but your 12th house is the energy that previously wrote the script

🌸 25. So many celebrities have moon in the 11th house. Also this placement indicates that you had a mother that put you out there constantly like posting everything about you on social media, bringing you to big events or your mom was “famous” in some capacity

🌱26. Gemini risings tend to believe everything they are told. More specifically, once they find someone that knows a little bit more than them they’ll believe everything they teach them and will most likely rely on them intellectually, for advice, guidance, etc. This is bc they have DSC in Sagittarius which makes them see the people they associate with as masters and mentors while, as a Gemini rising, they identify as an apprentice.

They doubt themselves 24/7 and that’s not even an exaggeration and I’ve noticed they actually may have grown up doubting themselves for some reason or they had a family (their dad) that caused this feeling in them. Also I’ve seen that those Libras with Scorpio placements feel like they have to hide something about themselves otherwise they’ll be rejected. Yes they are endlessly charming, but that's because they have essentially created their personality around the desire of being liked/accepted. They always need to feel they have SOMEONE. Their sense of self, INDIVIDUALITY, independence and assertiveness is lost in the process. Unless they have fire and specially Aries placements to balance this out they can feel like they have no personality and that’s why they are often perceived as fake or shallow.

Hello! Uhm… there’s something I’ve been wondering about for a long time now regarding Nicol. And I figured I may as well ask now, since S2 has started airing.

I’ve seen his wiki page. And it says and I quote: It was later revealed that his emotionless face and quiet nature is a result of extreme trauma. From a young age, people of all genders and ages would tend to do absurd things, as well as assaulting him.

I’ve been so fixated on this probably since S1 had finished, yet I haven’t really had the time to read all the light novels to know where this specifically comes from or even be sure if it’s actually true. The only thing I managed to find was a scene (I think in one of the later volumes) about Katarina pointing out this creepy guy that took Nicol’s used utensils and stared at him a lot, but she didn’t do anything about it because Sophia saw nothing wrong with that guy’s behavior and told her it was okay.

I’m not sure if the wiki was referring to that scene, or something else. And since I know that you read the light novels, I was hoping if maybe you could check that info and confirm/deny it for me. If it is true… then it really puts a whole different perspective on Nicol. People in the series have been shown to faint if Nicol smiles, but it was also mentioned how he was one of the only second year students in the student council because people would fight over him.

And to think their behavior possibly had escalated to the point of traumatizing him as a child makes me very heartbroken to think about. Especially when the wiki also mentioned how he feels very uncomfortable when he’s the center of attention… makes me wonder if the anime will even touch upon any of that.

Hello! I'm sorry if answering this one took such a long time. This one definitely caught my interest so I wanted to take my time in writing a response for this.

I'm an editor for the wiki, so I admit that I have seen that description on Nicol's page too. I don't know who wrote it (and I never bothered to edit or adjust the wording), but that doesn't really matter since it's not exactly something I can deny.

Before that I just want to make it clear first that the "assault" mentioned in the wiki is probably not sexual or physical assault, it's likely referring to a simple assault, aka any unwanted advances that is done without consent. Whether or not any advances on Nicol while he was growing up were leaning towards sexual assault or physical assault (unwanted physical contact from men and women, sexual invitations, groping etc.) has not been mentioned by the books. It used to be a very popular headcanon for the more darker and realistic depictions of the hamefura or fortune lover world to give Nicol that kind of backstory, which is why I still feel like clarifying just in case anyone might get the wrong idea.

Hamefura is a very light-hearted series so I doubt it would put Nicol is such a tough dark position. While it's played for laughs, thankfully Nicol's beauty makes him so dazzling that people can't get close to him rather than being so handsome that people would try to initiate physical contact at every opportunity lmao.

Rather than the wiki pertaining to a specific scenes, I think it might be written in hindsight instead. It could very much be referring to the guy from Volume 6 who keeps staring at Nicol and stealing his uetnsils, but I feel like it could also be referring to the possibility/likeliness of such events and advances happening regularly. Like we don't really need to be told that men and woman throw themselves at Nicol for us to know about it. I mean if its frequent enough for Nicol to be unbothered by it, then it must happen a lot (as gross as that is). Regardless, those advances can still be classified as assault (since Nicol is not a fan of it at all) and the only reason he doesn't do anything about it is because it happens so often that it might be not worth the trouble anymore. At least we do know from the StoryMe hamefura game that Nicol will act in the face of an unfavorable position if he can, so hopefully he isn't just sitting around like an animal in the zoo if he were to receive unwanted advances.

I wouldn't deny that all of these interactions hadn't traumatized Nicol though. They never really mention in the books word-for-word why Nicol is so emotionally stunted/incapable and silent, they only really mention that he doesn't talk because he doesn't want to receive any unwarranted pity. In the first hamefura anthology (whose canonicity is up for debate), they do say there that the reason why Nicol doesn't talk a lot is because people would twist his words in order to turn it around and make him sound more tragic and pitiable than he actually is. I'm no expert on what is or what isn't considered as trauma, but that sounds like a source of trauma to me. The idea of Nicol being so fed up of people misinterpreting his words and expressions in order to fit what they want to hear must have been so hard on him, to the point where he decided to just not speak at all. It can be easily link to his emotionless-ness too, since any positive reaction like a smile could be twisted to mean other things.

Realistically, having people constantly fight over you, whisper things about you behind your back, constantly ogle at you and be constantly flirted on regardless of gender sounds terrible. If that was me I'd be traumatized too. He definitely hates being in the center of attention for all the reasons previously discussed and other well-known variables; he's always in the eyes of every noble around him which makes him hate being in the spotlight (from his perspective, maybe he always feels like the spotlight is on him, like it'll just never leave. he'll always bothered by the eyes of other people even maybe when he's at home... eyes watching him with desires and expectations, haunting him even when he's alone...). It really makes you think about what kind of life Nicol had been living in without Katarina's positive influence. He would have to bear the burden alone, without being able to say a word about it because he needs to act tough for the sake of Sophia.

Like geez, Nicol is even aware that he has stalkers but isn't doing anything about because "they aren't harmful". He never even really clarified what he meant by that (at least I don't remember anyways, feel free to correct me), like is he already doing something to stop the stalker, is it happening so often that he doesn't care anymore or is he fine with it because the stalker hasn't done anything dangerous (yet)???

If you want an /objective/ answer to whether or not the wiki description was referring to the stalker man from Volume 6 or something else, that line on the wiki was added on April 27, 2020; while the JP release of Volume 6 was on March 20, 2018 vs the EN ebook release which was on June 28, 2020.

The editor is likely a JP reader, or it was just an interpretation based most-likely what-if scenarios/interpretations. That's a fun fact for ya :DD

—and since you mentioned that you haven't read all the volumes of the light novels yet, let me help you by listing chapters in the books with a Nicol POV (that I can remember, as of Volume 9)

TLDR; the trauma and assault mentioned in the wiki is definitely real, although the extent and severity might depend on the reader('s imagination). There's no particular scene to point to as the source, explanation or example of Nicol being given uncomfortable treatment, but it's not hard to imagine given the kind of character Nicol is. He is a silent beauty who caries himself smartly and politely, which in the eyes of many carnivorous nobles is the perfect kind of prey. Whether or not he was assaulted in any way or if people's behavior towards him can be considered as assault depends on the reader, since we still have yet to get a deep dive on Nicol's life outside of his friend group.

If there's any confirmation or deconfirmation to anything I said that I have missed during my skimming on the light novels, feel free to tell me! If I got the definitions and examples of trauma and assault wrong, feel free to tell me and I'll edit this post as fast as I can!

Responding to Tom Felton Hate

There's a number of accusations thrown his way:

- He liked JKR‘s transphobic tweet and only unliked it after backlash

- He called JKR’s work “genius” when there are very problematic themes in the Harry Potter books and her other books

- He made this “apology video” but in that, he straight up admitted he was racist “Colored people are the spice of the world but I don’t like spicy food.” (It was something along those lines, I can’t remember exactly)

- He read NSFW fanfics on his live, knowing most of his fans are minors (11-13 years old) Told a 13 year old, and I quote: “get on your knees.”

- He writes songs about Emma Watson (16 year old Hermione). Considering he’s an adult now, that’s incredibly creepy. He’s kinda obsessed with her, and posts picture with her for clout

- Condones toxic relationships and people - he often shows support to Dramione and Draco Malfoy

- Bodyshamed his exes and compared their naked bodies

- Also, he still hangs onto a role he played like, 20 years ago?? Because that was his only fame I guess. AND here are my answers to every single one of these: 1 - only partly true. Twitter notifications on phones only let some of the text written to be seen and this has happened to me twice so I know. JKR's Transphobia was on the end of the tweet. Point is, if you use Twitter and have looked at that Tweet , you'll understand him.

i think it’s easy, sometimes, for me to forget that the fics i post can mean to other people what some of my favorite fics mean to me. like, i have favorite fics that have literally altered my course in life—that have made me change a perspective i used to have or see things in a new way from before. there are fics i’ve read to pull through some of my worst nights and fics i have read literally 100+ times because i love it so much or because it means so much to me or whatever reason i may have for that specific fic—either way, it’s a significant standing point in my life. i have spent so many minutes and hours, collectively probably months worth, of my time on a handful of the same fics. and the things i write and the fics i post could have the same meaning to someone else?

i won’t ramble about that i just can’t wrap my head around it but it’s !!! so heart warming and makes my chest feel so full and happy oh my god

as for the to build a family series!! i’m super slow at updating it now that the rest of the plot is being told through shorter fics—like so far i don’t have any plans for another 5/6 chapter fic for tbaf, mostly just one shots and two shots—but even though i can be slow to update it that series literally. i love it so much. it means so much to me

homeward bound is definitely my passion project and is probably my new favorite thing that i have ever written—which is ironic because i haven’t updated it in like a month ?? a few weeks for sure because life got crazy and march is both the best and the WORST month of my life every year lmao but anyway not the point—the point is that while homeward bound is currently my #1 favorite of my fics, to build a home is, quite fittingly, like coming home whenever i write it, and honestly i go back and reread it semi regularly as well. partially to make sure i remember it all and havent forgotten any details for the sake of writing the next part (eventually,,,, slowly,,,,,) but also because that series was started during what was to this day probably my second lowest point mentally, and i started writing the first fic as an irondad character study piece and then found out about parkner when i was only a couple scenes in (which is why harley doesn’t have any scenes until like 1/4 or so of the way through the first chapter fun fact) and it just !! it was all pulled out of my ass but it was EVERYTHING to me and it was perfect and i still adore it even if it isnt my favorite thing i’ve ever written. and a shocking amount of people have said insanely kind things about tbaf before and it’s just insane to me that people seem to like it so much. i’m so glad but also WOAH ??? woah

idk i just. i’ve always written for me—the only time i’ve written for the sake of other peoples expectations and requests over my own ended with me not writing for damn near two years, to which i owe the IT fandom for bringing me out of that horrible writers block hell in 2017/2018 bc i literally stopped writing end of 2015 and did not write anything until i decided to write a reddie fic. and that taught me to write for ME but to keep readers in mind for the sake of being respectful and being BEYOND grateful when ppl say such nice things that i struggle to understand is purely genuine because how ?? how did my little gay words have impact or hold meaning ???

WANDAVISION S1E5 SPOILERS ( & COMICS SPOILERS TOO ) !!!

here we go. this is very long, so. buckle up.

my original theory had wanda trapped within westview unknowingly - later episodes disproved that. however! i believe now that parts of my original theory are true. wanda is not in control. someone else is. she can alter certain aspects of her reality, and probably believes she’s in total control. she isn’t.

she notes that she can’t remember how it all began. she seemed taken aback during some of the episodes when the sitcom faltered and allowed reality to blink through. she didn’t summon pietro/peter - so who did?

behind every show is a writer, a director. wanda may be starring in her perfect sitcom, but who is directing it?

- agnes? is she mephisto? or perhaps she’s agatha, married to mephisto. her husband is mentioned several times but never shown.

- pietro/peter himself is mephisto in disguise. though why he would choose this particular iteration of pietro is uncertain.

- dottie is mephisto.

1. the sword director is shady a.f. why not share the information about wanda’s break in when he first sent monica out into the field? and, if part of vision’s will was to not be ressurected OR made into a weapon, then what the hell was sword doing with his corpse in the first place?

consider: the security footage from wanda’s break-in. vision’s body was disassembled. sword director immediately labelled wanda a terrorist. which was always going to happen - i mean, pre-endgame/infinity war, wanda was a wanted felon on the run from the government. which gives sword exactly the right ammunition to use against her. of course, monica was having none of it, and stepped up to defend her. hayword decided to use monica’s drone to launch an attack on wanda. he had no qualms about killing her - and potentially her children. he also chose to keep this information from monica, because he knew she would never have agreed. he is not to be trusted; and i think monica knows that now.

2. onto vision’s enlightening moment with norm. now, norm doesn’t ever name wanda as the one inside his head. instead, he refers to this person as ‘’her’’. not naming her has to be intentional. which means he may not be talking about wanda. of course, vision is going to assume it is wanda, having noticed how strange his life with her is. monica was shaken when she began to remember her life before westview. herb, when trying to tell vision about why monica was there, is visibly terrified. norm grows agitated and upset when vision lifts the manipulation. even dottie becomes freaked out when woo’s voice comes over the radio. who in the town doesn’t act disturbed or scared when the sitcom falters? agnes. she acts like a professional actor on a soap or sitcom. she looks to wanda for direction; but could it be she is the director of this whole thing? or perhaps she is an agent of mephisto, (or master pandemonium) who could very well be her unseen husband, ralph. that is, if she’s not mephisto herself.

3. now. the twins. the twins, whom i do not trust. they know too much. their powers and wanda’s powers combined could explain the aging up process. but i believe the twins are a product of the same thing as the comics: fragments of mephisto’s soul. while this storyline was rewritten to swap out mephisto for master pandemonium, it’s more likely that it’s mephisto behind this. regardless of mephisto’s identity within the show, it the twins were created using fragments of mephisto’s soul, they may be more like him than wanda or vision. i know in the comics they get reabsorbed into mephisto/pandemonium. i lowkey want that to happen because i don’t like them lmao. sorry wanda! but, we know that wanda is using whatever is around her to rewrite reality. so if mephisto is nearby, his soul would be powerful enough (even fragmented) to create two (semi) human children. agnes says you can’t control kids. maybe that’s why there’s no other children in westview?

4. and finally, the big moment. the introduction of evan peter’s peter maximoff. she calls him pietro, of course, as this is the name he used in this universe. there are plenty of theories to explain his sudden appearance. if mephisto is a resident of the town, and controlling wanda, they may be using her desires to keep wanda in westview. her mentioning him in the past 2 episodes would have had him in the forefront of her mind. mephisto may be aware that vision is beginning to fight the reality he’s in, that he’s ‘’waking up’’. so he/she/they bring in her brother to solidfy wanda’s fight to remain in her new home. what good does this do for vision, though? how will it convince him to stop fighting? he doesn’t even remember his own universes’ pietro. perhaps mephisto is hoping that with wanda now having her family complete will urge her to fully control vision. perhaps mephisto had to bring this version of pietro over from the x-men universe due to an inability to revive the mcu’s pietro? and another big question; is vision alive? if wanda was reanimating his corpse and making it seem as though he was alive, wouldn’t he just be whatever she made him be? surely he would have no independant thought, no capability to question the world around him. if he is alive - how?

working theory: wanda discovered that sword had taken vision’s body. heartbroken that the man she loves won’t get to rest in peace, she breaks into sword and ‘’rescues’’ his corpse. whatever her plan was following that, something happened that we haven’t seen yet. mephisto appeared, drawn to wanda by her pure grief, rage, and loneliness - and made her a deal she couldn’t refuse. bring vision back to life, place her in a familiar, comforting world where nothing changes (ex. a sitcom) and they can live a normal, happy life together. mephisto does not go into detail about wanda’s new reality; when she agrees, she isn’t entirely aware of what she’s signing up for. mephisto wipes her memory (and visions?) of the deal, and sits back in wait. the more wanda starts to realise that she can control aspects of her reality, she does what she can to protect it, not fully understanding what’s going on. only knowing that she isn’t willing to let go of her home. sword are panicking, because they’ve lost vision to a woman with exceptional abilities (who happens to be labelled, unfairly, a terrorist). hayward uses this to turn all heads in wanda’s direction, desperate to vilify her and keep the attention off of sword’s vision project. back to the deal - what would mephisto get in return for this exchange? my best bet is the children. although why he would want that, to lose 2 fragments of his soul for their creation. unless his soul was already in fragments and lost, and wanda’s creating her kids was one way for him to retrieve them? agnes is there to either help wanda, to take care of her, or to keep her in line.

the parts in italics and bold are linked to the evidence in the first paragraphs.

THE COMMERCIALS:

each commercial seems to link to wanda’s past; essentially retelling her path through the mcu.

1. first up, the toaster by stark industries. it was stark weapons that destroyed wanda’s childhood home and left her and her brother orphans. this is the inciting incident in wanda’s story.

2. the vonstrucker watch. following her parents demise, she is radicalised and volunteers for hydra, alongside pietro. she is experimented on by a hydra scientist named von strucker.

3. hydra soak soap. this could be another reference to her history with hydra. it could always be a hint that hydra is somehow involved in wanda’s current situation.

4. lagos paper towels. with no commercial in episode 4, episode 5 advertises paper towels by the brand name of lagos, the tagline is ‘’for when you make a mess you didn’t mean to.’’ at the beginning of civil war, wanda is part of an avengers mission in lagos. the mission goes wrong when wanda accidentally redirects a bomb and kills civillians. this incident is partially responsible for the sokovia accords - and we should also remember that wanda’s intentions with ultron were not the same as his. she didn’t mean for sokovia to be destroyed, or for her brother to die. she most likely blames herself for all of that.

the commercials are, essentially, a shortened walkthrough of her trauma, and there is plenty of it.

note: wanda is the defintion of traumatised. she has lost everything. she is alone. she has had no time to process the death of vision; those five years post IW never happened for her. she blinked, and five years had passed. she was then immediately thrown into a battle against thanos. for her it’s been about five minutes since she witnessed thanos crushing vision’s head for the mind stone. she then finds out natasha and tony have died, and that steve is out of commission for good. everything has been ripped away from her. there’s no avengers. no family. no boyfriend. no one. i want to see what happened in the three weeks between endgame returning the dusted and the beginning of wandavision.

- First off, you gotta understand that @nsfwitchy2 Me had some fun with a pretty nonsensical and definitely not canon-compliant AU where Jerome and Jeremiah have three Mums (Tabby, Lee and Barbara, who all date) and live with them and Barbara Lee as their little sister.

- Ecco also lives with them, she sees herself as both the twins' gf more than a genuine part of the family tho (for now)

- (Meanwhile at Wayne Manor Alfred and Jim date and are very tired parents of Bruce and his clone 514A, in this AU - and pretty much every AU - nicknamed Brook)

- (Selina kinda goes back and forth between living at Wayne Manor or at Lee's place)

- And Theo's like "Don't tell me you're going soft. No one will miss him. He was just a boy. Not worthy enough to be remembered."

- And later on she betrays him and goes 'I remember him'

- Anyway, they stay with Fish for a while but Tabby doesn't wanna keep Silver in Gotham

- So she sends her back to the school she went to before coming to Gotham with Theo (but makes sure their weird cult can't get their hands on her there)

- And Silver wants her to come with but Tabby says she has some unfinished business

- Aka she just doesn't wanna leave Barbara (who is in a coma atm, if Memory serves right)

- And Tabby's reasoning is that it's not safe in Gotham but really, she thinks she can't be responsible for another person

- "She needs a mother. A Family. I can't give her that." - "You are her family."

- So Silver's out of the picture and Tabby hangs with Fish until Barbara wakes up and they get together again (and never ever seperate)

- Also there's no Butch/Tabby because that was unnecessary as fuck

- And I gotta be honest, I haven't thought more about canon because Butch/Tabby alone makes my head hurt already but somehow they start dating Lee

- Who brings Jerome into the relationship because I sure am fond of Lee being Jerome's Mother (like as in, I have several wips with that concept alone not counting this one)

- Jerome probably came back to life after S3 and Lee fought to have him not be treated like a violent criminal but rather a child who was taken advantage of and after his release from Arkham (where she visited him and made sure he got some proper treatment) it seemed natural to have him live with her

- (But also he's still a criminal aksnsjs, you can see how much I thought about this)

- (Sue me for sticking to the heartfelt scenes and avoiding the mess that is plotting)

- Tabby and Barbara already had Selina and through Jerome, Jeremiah and Ecco were added et voila! Their Family is complete

- (Why exactly Barbara Lee exists if Tabby and Barbara have been non-stop dating since S2 I can't tell you, I simply think she is neat and I like the idea of big brother Jerome)

- (This AU? Self-indulgent? Why would you ever think that?)

- In the present however she is dealing with what is mostly referred to as 'feelings'

- Mostly panic at realizing that the bunch of weird children she's been living with are seeing her as some kind of parental figure

- Because suddenly they all call her 'Mum'

- Unsurprisingly the first one to call her Mum is Jerome at breakfast

- She's reading the newspaper and there's an article about a hostage situation the twins planned and he goes 'Mum, are you done with that? Can we see?'

- And they snatch it from her and argue about how they didn't even make the front page while Tabby nearly chokes on her coffee

- And of course she breaks down talks to her wives about it later while they get ready for bed because no one ever called her 'Mum' before

- Barbara's braiding her hair, while Lee's off to the side, getting ready for bed and it's very domestic and I am very gay

- But neither see it as a big deal because both of them have been called Mum before (by Jerome at least. Like. Immediately upon meeting them)

- So she's trying to be nonchalant about it because it's only a big deal if she makes it one

- While also not being able to deny the warm feeling that spreads throughout her body when Jerome keeps calling her 'Mum'

- Miah and Selina on the other hand are both hesitant to call anyone Mum

- Miah cause of Pride, Selina cause of her Mummy Issues

- But they both do at some point

- I think I have more notes on this SOMEWHERE but I kinda wanna have Miah call her Mum while he's ill (because we all know he'd be super fussy and want attention 24/7)

- So she humours him and while he's close to falling asleep - and she's totally not carding her fingers through his hair because she isn't soft or anything - he mumbles: "Thank you Mum" and she melts

- Selina would be more angsty

- Like, maybe it's her birthday and she disappears for a while (as she tends to do) but Tabby (who's closest to her) knows how hard this day is for her (since again her Mum isn't there with here and looks for her and brings her back home but doesn't make a big fuss out of her birthday

- Just...lets her be, gives her space but also lets her curl up close to her and maybe Selina doesn't call her Mum on that exact day

- But it's the day she realizes she wouldn't mind calling Tabitha her Mother, so she hesitantly tries it out a while later (maybe days, maybe weeks, however long it takes for her to feel comfortable with it) and they share a smile

- Then there's Barbara Lee, but she barely counts because she's a toddler and calls everyone 'Mummy'

- Even her father ajsnsnsn

- The last one would be Ecco because I have a very soft spot for Tabby and Ecco being close

- Ecco's rather formal with them for the longest time (she calls Barbara, Lee and Tabby 'Ma'am' for the most part because she may like them, but she doesn't think they see her as family. She's just the token girlfriend).

- So there's a scene where they connect, possibly over Tabby's hand and Ecco's head since I hc that Ecco gets headaches and migraines a lot (considering that she still gets shot in the head by Miah, like I said, this AU isn't necessarily the most bullet proof in terms of linear timelines)

- But so is Gotham so-

- So there's possibly a scene where Ecco's headache is getting super bad and no one's around (especially not Miah to dote on her) and Tabby awkwardly tries to bond by telling her about her hand and how she can't feel much (is a little clumsy with it) and Ecco immediately imprints on her like a duckling

- Maybe it's even the first time anyone reached out to Ecco in a way that feels genuine, especially without the twins or any of her (various) other partners being present so now she's willing to die for Tabby

- Which ends in her also calling her 'Mum' (while she keeps calling Lee and Barbara 'Ma'am' and Lee's so mad ajsnsjdj she was trying so hard to bond with this kid but couldn't quite get it right and you're telling her her socially pretty clumsy - but still wonderful of course - wife managed with just one conversation?? Slander

- And of course because I can't stop myself, there would be even more tidbits here and there of Tabby overcoming her previous way of living (as in, thinking caring or showing emotions is weakness) by having her reminisce a LOT about Theo

- For example by having Jerome climb into bed with her while Barbara's sleeping and Tabby is waiting for Lee to come home

- Lee works as a doc in the narrows which may be a little illegal, but the people didn't just stop needing help after her Queen of the Narrows arc was over, so I vote she keeps at it (and is held in very high regard for it by pretty much everyone)

- Tabby always stays up until everyone is home because she likes knowing where everyone is and that they're safe while Jerome has frequent nightmares and wanders around the house, so this isn't a rare occurrence

- And sometimes, they talk Theo

- "You miss him?" - "Don't know."

- "I wish he was still alive so I could kill him." - "....Me too." - "Which one?" - "...Both."

- (ajajsbssj this is all just copy pasted and cleaned up a lil', leave me and my pretentious way of writing dialogue alone)

- Tabby also has a lot of interludes where she thinks about what growing up with Theo was like/her childhood in general

- How she always protected him from other children bullying him and how they swore to have each other's back but how in hindsight, she was the one doing all the dirty work for him, helping him fulfill his dream and enact his revenge

- Realizing that he probably never cared for her, not like she cared for him

- There's also allusions to them having sex because you cannot tell me they did NOT have sex

- And it ends with Tabby realizing that she is quite happy with how she ended up, even if it's neither how she thought she would ever live nor what her old self would've even wanted, possibly seeing too many attachments as 'weak' judging by the way she canonly used Butch for convenience sake at first

- And yeah, maybe now she can provide the family - the Mother - somebody else desperately needs

- So she brings Silver home

Took a quick peek in the Hannibal tag and yeah there’s a lot of negative stuff, so just a few carefully measured, slightly more positive thoughts in no particular order. But I seriously do not wanna argue with anyone, or get involved in any drama, so if you disagree feel free to just skip this post, stop reading, go do your own thing, I’m just letting my thoughts out to breathe and then I’ll probs shut up about this for good because I am Too Old for discourse.

1) Remember everything said by Fuller and other cast/crew is word of god, not text, and therefore basically headcanon. If you don’t like it, you don’t have to use it, but let people enjoy it/have fun with it if they feel seen/represented

2) Even if we get a season four and some of this stuff becomes actual in-text canon, A) you’re still not obligated to stick to it (when making transformative work, the canon is free real estate babey) and B) even if canon compliance is your jam, there’ll probs still be wiggle room to headcanon as you please because seriously when has anyone on this fucking show ever said something as clear and explicitly straightforward and impossible to misinterpret as ‘I’m heterosexual’

3) I’m not here to defend Fuller or anyone else as paragons of virtue or masters of these characters (doing so with anyone is an invitation for disappointment), but I do think most of what was said was said in good faith. Real-time answers put together in live recorded interviews are never gonna be as perfectly worded as they could be.

If you disagree that’s fair and I respect your feelings, but it didn’t feel particularly malicious to me, and I really don’t like to be too harsh to people over poor word choices in live interviews because god knows I can’t help but slip when I have a camera/voice recorder on me and no opportunity to draft and re-draft my answer lmao

4) I personally also think Will is bi, but I also think he hasn’t fully become aware of or labelled himself as that yet as Hannibal is the first man he’s felt this for, so in my head he’s just ‘self-identified hetero until he figures his shit out’- I would also be open to him being somewhere on the ace spectrum, and I’m glad that possibility was acknowledged and respected

(I’ve seen some speculation that hesitance to put them into a sexual relationship is for fear of alienating a straight audience or w/e, but Fuller did American Gods (not going into that show here, no way, do not have the time or patience) and demanded a re-take of an explicit gay sex scene to make it more realistic/intimate so I don’t think he’s particularly worried about letting the gays have their sexy fun on screen. I think he’s just legitimately entertaining the idea that they may not have a sexual love, and that’s fine, he did not deny that they are in love at all, he just didn’t promise sex scenes)

5) I really don’t think it’s fair to label the show as queerbait based on an interview you don’t agree with. As far as I can gather from info dating back to series one, Fuller originally intended on making a show about male friendship, the direction taken by the actors/other writers and the fan response took it down a more romantic route, and rather than fight it he let it happen, leaned into it it and seems ready to continue it in season 4, whether that’s sexual or not. This feels like a case of ‘accidental gay romantic chemistry happened and rather than try and bury it we’re gonna work it into the story and let it be a thing that we actually develop’, and that’s kinda the opposite of queerbait.

Just because a character doesn’t say ‘I’m gay’ or doesn’t fuck another character on screen does not mean they are not queer, and Hannibal is canonically in love with Will. It’s queer, canonically, it just may not be the exact picture of a queer relationship between these two men that you pictured, and that’s ok. You can write the one you pictured, never let canon or word of god make you feel your interpretation is off limits. Conversely, never let it make you think that your interpretation is more valid than someone else’s because it happens to align with canon or authorial intent more than theirs.

6) I’m kinda reminded a little bit of Good Omens. Once again, I’m not here to say that Neil Gaiman is a paragon of virtue or master of headcanons, but a lot of people took issue with him not wanting to label Aziraphale and Crowley as ‘gay’; which he explained was because they are both genderless and gender non-conforming, and that trying to corral them into one particular box under the LGBTQ umbrella wasn’t truthful to them. People were upset that he didn’t want to use that word, and upset that Aziraphale and Crowley didn’t kiss/make out on screen. Now, Az and Crowley are.... arguably? Less explicitly canon than Hannigram? Which is fair cause for upset if you’re just really sick of seeing queer relationships on screen than can be denied by cishets who don’t wanna acknowledge it.

But a lot of people- agender, nonbinary, asexual, aromantic people- LOVED them, and felt seen by them, and that’s not nothing. It is okay for characters, who are clearly deeply in love, to express that love in ways that are not sexual, and it’s okay for them not to label themselves. We do need more media with queer characters who own their labels, yes, of course we do, and more positive and realistic depictions of physical queer relationships on scren. But a pairing isn’t totally invalid or inherently queerbaity for not doing so.

Anyway, yeah, TL;DR:

1) word of god is nothing, take joy/comfort in it if it suits you and respect those that do but otherwise do what you want

2A) canon is also nothing, do what you want B) Hannibal canon is especially tricksy and open to your own interpretation

3) Showrunners are humans who misspeak, even with good intentions

4) Will labelling himself as het doesn’t necessarily mean he is, also it’s nice that asexuality was respectfully acknowledged (also Fuller’s very down with gay sex scenes, just not sold on it for Hannigram specifically, but y’all probs write better smut than he would anyway)

5) a relationship not being depicted as you wanted does not make it queerbait, there are a million types of queer in the rainbow and one queer experience is not universal. Also you can write whatever you want regardless of canon, in the Olden Days we shipped whatever the heck we liked canon be damned.

6) pretty much the same as 5 but with Good Omens comparisons

I meant what I said at the start, I really am not getting further into the discourse than this and will likely not respond if anyone gets confrontational. But lemme just sign off by saying this; if what was said today makes you happy, makes you feel seen, good for you. If it doesn’t, please try not to let it prey on your mind, word of god is just glorified headcanon and you’re the master of your own mind palace. Whether you’re type A or type B, just try not to let this turn you hostile to other fans, it’s seriously not worth it. If you’re sick of seeing one point of view or another on your dash, I’d recommend just slamming that block/unfollow button and moving on, it’s hella liberating

Predominately, Supernatural. But I do write for Skam and its Remakes as well (Skam France and Druck currently).

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

1) The First Time I Saw Your Face (263 Kudos, 4k, wincest) - I posted this one in 2019 crazily enough, so it's semi new and its also the only fic I have on ao3 that I attempted no promotion of. So how it ended up with the most kudos, is a mystery to me. This fic was a WIP for so fucking long and 2019 was a good year writing wise for me, so I was able to finish it up and post it. It's actually very endearing to my heart, because it's an over-compassing story in short glimmers of their love story from Sam's birth until Stanford!Era / Pilot.

2) Two Hearts, One Home (230 Kudos, 5k, evak - skam) - The first published fic for these two and it's literally just fluffy and porn. For some reason when I write them, I turn into a porn writing champion, which is a strange turn for me--as I usually struggle with it! Written in 2019.

3) Close Your Eyes & Make A Wish (203 Kudos, 7k, Datteo - Druck) - The first Druck fic I ever posted and it's a recanting of one of their episodes. I love Matteo and David so fucking much and they will always live in my heart. So happy I wrote this piece. Also written in 2019. (see what I mean about it being a good writing year?)

4) To Rise, We Must Fall (197 Kudos, 11k, Wincest) This was written for the 2014 reverse big bang. It was my first dip into challenges and I'm happy it exists because it gave me courage to attempt other challenges. I def don't think it's the strongest thing I've ever written, but I love it because it's Boy King related.

5) Treble Clef Confessions (191 Kudos, 1k, Elu - Skam Fr) - The first and only thing I ever wrote for Skam France. I don't anticipate writing anything in the future for them, but I do love this short little piece that reimagines a scene. This was also written in 2019.

5. Do you respond to comments, why or why not?

Oh yes, I absolutely do. I am so grateful for any comments I get, because unfortunately they are few and far between. I wish my readers left more tbh, because they just fuel my desire to keep writing. So I definitely love to take care of those that do, just to also encourage them to do the same for others.

6. What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?

There's two that I think of, but I'll go with the one that has had more responses from the fandom. Everything's For You was written in my earlier tumblr days for a tumblr challenge. The prompt was basically to imagine: “Dean says time is different in hell, but what if it’s not? What if Dean really spent 40 years in hell before Cas put him back to 2008? Write what 40 years without Dean may have looked like for Sam.” And well, things get a little sad.

7. What's the fic you've written with the happiest ending?

I feel like I try to make sure all of my fics end on a happy note, just because I like to make the angst so severe throughout the fic. Lol. But the Skam piece I am currently working on and isn't posted yet, is def going to be the happiest. So look out for, A Weekend To Remember.

8. Do you write crossovers? If so what is the craziest one you've written?

I haven't written one yet, not to say I never would.

9. Have you ever received hate on a fic?

I wouldn't say hate, but I have had people challenge the way I write and say it's too flowery. People also try to correct the way I write Brother in Wincest fics with a capital B, but that's my creative freedom as a writer. They're not just brothers. They're Brothers. <3

10. Do you write smut? If so what kind?

I do write it, but it really depends on the fandom I guess. When I write for Sam and Dean, I feel like the smut I write is few and far between. Not that it's hard to write, or that I don't enjoy it--but I enjoy writing them without it. Sometimes I feel like it means just as much without it, because that's just them. But then I put my Skam glasses on and I'm suddenly on a smut roll.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not to my knowledge. I hope that never happens; I wouldn't handle that very well.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

No, but I would be open to it under the right circumstances.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Nothing posted, but maybe between friends--yes.

14. What's your all time favorite ship?

Def, Wincest. I don't care how far away from SPN I get, I walk by a flower stand and see sunflowers and with always instantly be reminded of Sam. I'll see wanderer things and think of Sam. I'll see leather candles and think of Dean. I'll see an impala on the road and think of the boys on the road in the middle of the night. I will always see them everywhere and they will always be a part of me.

15. What's a WIP that you want to finish but don't think you ever will?

Probably the 900 J2 fics I've started. I want to finish one, but I usually get distracted and start something else.

16. What are your writing strengths?

I think for me, it is dependent on how well I know a character...because if I know them like the backs of my hands, I can really get into the vein of them and write them well. The worst feeling for me is when I can't feel a characters voice as I write.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Probably that I get distracted entirely too easily. An idea will come up and I'll be all about it, write 10k of it and then think of something else. And then it'll sit in my drafts as a WIP for years, staring at me with pleading eyes and I just try my best to not think about the 'what-ifs'.

18. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

I try to stay away from it if I can, because to me it is distracting.

19. What was the first fandom you wrote for?

Unpublished Nsync fanfic for sure. LMAO. But second fandom would be Supernatural.

20. What's your favorite fic you've written?

There's so many things I want to say, but in this moment, I can't help but think of: A Brother's Lament (A Slow Death). It was written for the spnj2bigbang for 2016 and it's probably the longest fic I've written, being that it's 46k. It is a love story to Dean's slow and maddening deterioration after Sam's death in Swan Song. Of how he tries to live the life he promised, but finds that he physically cannot do it. It's sad and violent, dark and upsetting, but I put my whole heart into it and it's not even the most well received thing I've written--but I fucking love it so much.

Yea I wanna get to this ask quickly and it’d prob take me a bit to make 4 good sketches. If the asks were sent to me divided by characters I totally would draw them all and space out their postings. But I don’t want just one to wait in limbo forever lol. I still want people to be able to associate faces with my characters tho so I’m gonna share some old portraits of them instead.

3 How do they put themselves to bed at night (reading, singing, thinking?)

Thinking and listening to music! Depending on the day and the hours she works Brook tends to go to bed fairly early so as soon as she gets home she chooses to unwind by putting on some music as she makes dinner and keeps it on until it’s time to sleep. If she’s working late nights then she just passes out as soon as she gets home.

8 What were they told to stop/start doing most often as a child

As some of you may know her childhood was not normal lol. She was either surrounded by abusive authoritative figures or was left to take care of herself. In the beginning though when she was surrounded by stronger figures that didn’t have her best interests at heart she was told to stop being afraid, to be stronger, to not be timid.

18 What embarrasses them?

Whenever someone might even suggest something brook does is unusual she gets super self-conscious. It sorta sends her down this spiral of “oh my god is that weird? Like supernatural weird? Did I do that in front of other people before??!?” Bonus points if it’s an actual supernatural creature pointing out her oddness (or similarities to the creature) because she hates being comparable to them.

(IIIIIIIIIIII don’t actually have any good pictures of her lol. But she’s cute. She’s 5”2 with iridescent dark hair and really dark blue eyes.)

12 How do they deal with an itch found in a place they can’t quite reach?

What an interesting question lmao. Leland is canonically a flexible bastard so I think it’d be difficult to find a place he couldn’t reach.

37 Do they have a system for remembering names, long lists of numbers, things that need to go in a certain order (like anagrams, putting things to melodies, etc)?

Leland has great memory already so if he was hired for something that looks like a quick job he might jot down some notes but keep all the important details in his head. If he’s hired to take out a bigger target however, and the job requires weeks I’d not months of research and preparation, Leland would take more dedicated notes. He’d end up with a folder with pages of notes about the client, the target, and possible means of taking them out. He’s not the most… organized though. His work desk is the counter in his kitchen and it’s a bit of a mess covered in old and new jobs, pictures, files he’d obtained from various resources, and written notes. Once he’s finished a job he puts everything away in one of those vanilla folders and keeps it in a stack in the corner. Then he makes a new mess for the latest job and the cycle repeats.

13 What color do they think they look best in? Do they actually look best in that color?

Shalamit loves to dress in red because it matches their hair. However I think if they were to wear a red dress cloak or robes the red would probably get too overwhelming with their already red hair and warm violet skin. If shalamit’s hair were shorter I think it’d work better just so their curtain of long hair won’t just blend in with the rest of their outfit. As their design is now I think they look quite nice in black because it makes their hair all the more striking.

(There’s also two versions of this character. One for dnd the other for my own creative world. Their personalities are the same tho)

34 How hard is it for them to shake a sense of guilt?

It is very hard for Ossia to shake a sense of guilt. She already feels terrible for all the suffering in the world even if she is not personally at fault. She has a strong sense of responsibility and if something she did lead to terrible consequences it will take her some time to forgive herself or feel like she has made amends.

A) Why are you excited about this character?

She’s a bit poetic in design like a tragedy lol. She’s an interesting blend of dark and light traits and together they make this morally grey character who thinks she’s risen above her faults and does good while at the same time keeps lamenting about her natural state being evil and cruel. Her actual state of “goodness” is still very questionable as she can excuse needless murder if she believes it reduces the amount of pain in the world. Plus she gets premonitions about the future to a degree so I enjoy watching how much she fucks up while literally getting hints about the consequences.

I do know that being more mentally into something makes the feelings better and more pleasurable. And I do remember talking about that. It’s interesting that it makes it better for you. I think you mentioned once something about it tying to who you write for as well. 

But yeah I could never insert myself. If I try and picture myself I get really grossed out (for more reasons than one though) and can’t keep reading. I have to have a disconnect from what I read to some level. I can sort of step into the shoes of the pov character a little bit (and I do get invested somewhat, there are some kinks that that I can’t read about with a reader insert that I would happily read in member x member) but there has to be some distance or I can’t do it. And for writing even more so.

(pt. 6) but especially if i'm imagining doing something i'm into with someone i'm sexually attracted to. and for me personally, it's usually not just looks that'll get me sexually attracted to someone. when i say i like funny people, i mean on many occasions, i can't be sexually attracted to a person unless i find them humorous. this doesn't always happen, but most of the time if you're not funny or i don't enjoy hearing you talk, i can't be sexually attracted to you.

mmmm yes, other factors can go into primary attraction other than just looks. 

(pt. 7) there's a bunch of people i know that, bc of other physical factors that i generally like in a person, i may have been sexually attracted to, but i never have been bc they're just not funny to me. so as soon as someone makes me laugh or smile or i find them humorous, even if i'm just watching them in a video, other factors about them become attractive to me and i end up sexually attracted then. this goes for some ggs where, i like them, but i can't write smut for them bc i don't find

(pt. 8) bc i don't find them funny. this goes for bgs as well, but bc of the difference in presentation this happens more often with ggs for me. this went all over the place so i guess in conclusion, for me, i go feral when people make me laugh and generally have physical traits that i tend to find sexual. i can feel sexual attraction to people based on looks alone, but in general they gotta make me laugh first. and this fluctuates i'm not in a constant state of feral. sometimes i feel nothing.

It is really interesting cuz there are so many things I like in other people but those things don’t turn me on. I realize that I have been using the term feral different from y’all lmao. 

At the moment I’m trying to parse out if, in my last relationship, I wanted sex because I wanted it with him, or because I was comfy with him, it felt good, and I knew he would be caring. At this point like like sex with the right person and I know I desire it in a sensual sense, but not in a person sense (I’ve been in a very don’t touch me mood lately. Like I wanna feel these sensations but I absolutely do not want a person to cause them)

Also I never fantasized about my partners. I can with idols sort of? But there’s a massive disconnect. It’s more of a character with a story line than just, imagining have sex. And any imagining of having sex, suddenly I’m not thinking about their voice or face because doing that makes things supremely uncomfy. I kinda wonder, do y’all fantasize about your crushes sexually? Cuz that was another thing I could never do. If I explored the ideas it just felt really weird and any sexual dreams about friends always make me feel real uncomfy.

my long overview/review of ‘Star Wars: Journey to Batuu’ after forcing myself to play it almost nonstop

so i said i was going to amend what i said in response to this ask after playing to min/max shit so here is a tldr version of my opinion after playing:

I consider this pack to be a 2/10; It's enough to kill time as a temporary distraction, but not for long. There’s absolutely no replay value after going through all those missions as each outcome is ultimately the same by faction. There also doesn’t seem to be any negative outcomes for each prompt in the little “choose your adventure” pop ups--And if there is, it is extremely low since I have never gotten a negative outcome. 

The aspirations are fair, and are the only things I found in this pack that’s anyway redeemable since I believe the rewards can be used well in conjunction with general solo/super-sim gameplay.

I decided to split this into 5 sections to organize my thoughts a little better. I’ll be separating my thoughts on each faction, the ships as a rabbit hole, the faction missions, the star wars aspirations, and then the breakdown of my 2/10 rating. 

1. Factions

When you travel to Batuu, the game gives you a starting “mission” or quest to get you acclimated to the areas, and each area has a specific Faction associated with it.

And yes, you cannot live anywhere, nor are there any lots, as was already stated.

Every area has a similar makeup which has:

The Black Spire Outpost is the biggest area and has:

Aside from the Cantina, the other areas are rabbit holes

you’ll never go hungry in batuu because the cheapest items on the menu are Outpost Popcorn Mix and Water at 0 credits lmao

the other two foods not shown in the screenshot above are Yobshrimp Noodle Salad and Braised Shaak Roast

This food place has two of the same options Docking Bay 7 has as well as two additional food items

The only area that you see the inside of

also where you find the guy who would give you Scoundrel missions, Hondo Ohnaka.

You can essentially max your Scoundrel reputation without it hindering whichever side you wanna take, and you can keep it when you essentially max out your rep on either the Resistance or the First Order.

There aren’t any real pros to being a Scoundrel aside from some socialization interactions. It doesn’t do anything for initial Batuu gameplay aside from unlocking Scoundrel outfits in CAS and some upgrades for your droids, but this goes for all of your options (Resistance, First Order, & Scoundrel).

The Dwelling

This is a rabbit hole where your sim goes to sleep, pee, or shower… If not the closest bench. 

It’s located opposite to the Cantina. 

If you’re ever lost, there’s a spire you can sit/nap on right in front of it–or you can just wait till your sim wants to pee.

Another rabbithole

This place sells items you can use to complete missions, like Dataspikes and a couple of Lightsaber parts

Majority of the inventory are decorative stuff to bring back with you

Savi’s Workshop

Right behind the antique shop is the lightsaber place where you can find more hilts, kyber crystals, and display cases for your lightsabers.

You can also click on the shop to start a lightsaber challenge.

Outside this area, you have the First Order District which has more supply crates and control panels than the other two neighborhoods, and a lot more activity–Makes sense since this is basically the hub for the First Order in general. 

There’s only the Droid Depot in this area, and the only real shop that has use for credits. Food wise, there’s a food stall, and if your sim is stinky or tired, they’d basically disappear for a few minutes to recharge and come back.

Aside from “voices,” these personalities don’t do much

I guess the First Order one is a lot more zap-happy though

The Resistance Camp is even smaller. Like the other areas, it’s littered with supply crates, but only has one control panel and no shops. However, there’s a rabbit hole toward the back in the Caves.

This doesn’t lead you to anywhere interesting, and it’s just another ‘choose your own adventure’ kind of thing. 

2. Ships

In the Black Spire Outpost, you’ll find the iconic Millennium Falcon. You can do kessel runs and explore in the Millennium Falcon with Chewbacca if you have a high Scoundrel reputation. 

However, although I said you get to ride with Chewbacca, you don’t ever see him come out 

He just kinda……………..stays there

and the prompts tell u he’s there

n ur gonna have to go with it and use the power of your imagination to believe he really do be there

In the First Order District, there’s the TIE Echelon, which functions the same way as the Millennium Falcon… But, you can’t do anything outside of exploring or using it for missions. This is how the X-Wing Starfighter in the Resistance Camp functions as well. 

It’s all pretty copy and paste, but w/e, that’s how EA does it

3. Missions

There may be several different missions per faction, but to no one’s surprise, they’re all literally the same one but worded differently.

Regular missions only have one plus (+) and one negative (-) icon

Regular Scoundrel missions only have one plus icon and no negatives since they don’t impact other factions

Each faction has a regular mission that pertains to:

Obtaining information

Exploring with the faction’s designated ship

Stealing from Supply Crates

Hacking a Control Panel

Yes………………….They’re very repetitive

You don’t have to do all of them though

You can spam the same one over and over as long as it fits the time slot

For example, the Resistance’s ship exploration mission is limited to only the day time and seems to disappear when it gets late in game

also there’s an error with the TIE Echelon where it’s missing a whole ass prompt

……As you can see, the options make no sense because the prompt is the same one that came before it 🥴

anyway…

Story Missions are the only missions that seem to differentiate from each faction.

All missions that pertain to the “story” are indicated with prerequisites of higher ranks within the faction

All of them give a double boost toward your faction

If it’s a Resistance story quest, it’ll always increase hostility from First Order members

Vice versa for the First Order faction

The Scoundrels are neutral, and do not impact any faction 

It’s only the Resistance and First Order factions that have very similar plot lines

but I’m guessing it’s only like that since they’re supposed to follow the vague cause/effect the two of them have?

4. Aspirations

The initial Aspiration you get when you pick the Star Wars umbrella in CAS (or in game) is “Hope VS Order.” After completing this one aspiration, you unlock the 3 that pertain to each faction.

Paragon of Hope

Resistance aspiration

Reward trait gives a boost to Charisma skill building

This is probably nice for those careers that need Charisma to be high, like the Political and Business branches

Enforcer of Order

First Order aspiration

Lowers chances of “Death from Anger”

Since I like killing my sims, I think this aspiration is pointless lmao

Galactic Privateer

Scoundrel aspiration

“Sleight of Hand” reward trait

Unlocks pickpocketing outside of Criminal branch usage

Best one here tbh

Works outside of Batuu, you’ll steal simoleons instead of credits

Also you can cheat whenever u play Sabaac and no one will notice

5. Reevaluation of Initial Opinions

I’ll be going through my initial list from my Response to the Ask I got before. I originally stated that it seemed promising and it was a 3.5~4/10.

Aesthetics/Visual: my opinion is unchanged, it still made me sad i can’t have a little shanty house out there or rent a garbo lot, 0.5/5

The longer I played, the more I didn’t find any new animations

The lightsaber sparring slowly began to look like a mash between GF and RoM duels after a while

I still hate that the areas were beautiful (+0.5) but the interactive places forced cutaway

why do you wanna ruin my screenshots like this, man

CAS/BB still is hard to integrate–Unless your sim is a geek with figurines, the ship models might be nice to add to their collections

Gameplay: uhhh at least i found something i could use outside of Batuu, 1.5/5

I think that playing 3984729847 repetitive missions for a long period time really orientated me to the whole map

…but the fact that i had trouble the first time around still makes it not-user friendly

the issue I had with the resistance members not having an icon? It’s a thing, I guess

The resistance quests take you on a weird trip to “prove” yourself so i guess the icons are supposed to show that they’re “not” resistance members or something idk

they’re supposed to be the sneaky underdogs who wanna do good or w/e

I guess that’s immersive…….. +0.5

they also have “Ignite the Spark” and “Ask about Missions” both leading to the same mission screen……………….

missions are still confusing, made worse when the game itself glitches up a storm

there was one mission where i had to go to the cantina to find someone

and they wouldn’t spawn within the time frame………….

i had to go in and out for like 3 days until they actually spawned

i only knew this bc i arrested half the people in the cantina while i was bored

so anyone without a red bar was probably them lmfaoo

also, as i stated above……. there’s some mission errors in the prompts 

Currency is still worthless.

Everything can be done by purely stealing from supply crates

Credits are only worth to blow it off on sabaac! 

The only real need for credits is to have 1,000 so u can buy a droid

Then slam the rest of those credits on the table to bet bajillions on a game of sabaac!

Aspirations………. Useful +1

Despite them being sorta niche, they’re pretty decent

Can abuse the rewards for optimal gameplay for a super sim

Honestly i just love the pickpocketing reward off the Scoundrel aspiration, just because it works outside of Batuu (and that he didn’t have to be in the Criminal career for it either)

In total, my personal rating for this pack is 2/10.

It was nice, but I don’t really see this pack being replayable, considering that i did everything there was to do on Batuu in a single trip. Sure I could’ve taken my time, but since everything would end up the same anyway, it felt like it was set up to be a one-time gig. 

At least with JA you’re moderately forced to return so you can collect treasures that are RNG–In JtB, you can snatch up all that you need on Batuu from grinding everything like a nutcase. There’s also chances of failure in JA, but on Batuu that percentage is almost little to none. The most you’ll ever get is a dazed moodlet that barely lasts, a negative relationship, and being escorted to a loading screen.  

I feel like this pack could be a little better if there were more risks involved, but there are barely any that I encountered. It’s just another weird, rehashed cash grab by EA.
