#I know S3 is like a year and a half away but I still can't wait for us all to go feral over Ruth in the trailers
Note
Since you’re like the Mammon expert I just need to ask, do you know where people are getting the idea that Mammon has pacts with witches? Cause he has canonically said that he wouldn’t make pacts with anyone else, ESPECIALLY witches
Like why would he make such a big deal about being mc’s “first” if he already has a bunch of other pacts
Love your blog btw <3
I had no idea people thought this tbh
But yeah Mammon doesn't have pacts with the three witches - he explicitly says so in s3 because MC, who it turns out is just as possessive as Mammon but much better at hiding it, gets jealous when they think he does.
To clear it up further:
(Season 3 spoilers ahead)
1.) Mammon's Deal with the Three Witches
• The Guardian Demon Devilgram goes into detail about this
• Basically, when in the human world (on an errand for Lucifer I believe) Mammon saves a 9 year old, orphaned, homeless girl from a mugger (in s1 it's said she's sickly as well)
• She imprints on him (like a little duckling) and starts following him around, despite him initially trying to scare her off
• Deciding he can't leave her alone in the human world but also knowing he can't bring a human child to the Devildom, he calls Lucifer and asks for help
• Lucifer puts him in touch with the three witches
• The three witches now look after the kid as long as Mammon pays them and pays for all her needs (which he plans to do till she's an adult/capable of providing for herself) - the witches, however, are overcharging him for everything and it's one of the main reasons he's always in depth and scared of them (to the point that he has nightmares about the witches)
• He visits the girl frequently and she always clings to him and begs him not to leave. He becomes really happy when MC calls him a good dad
• He has no pacts with any of the witches and in S3 firmly states that he doesn't plan to make any
2.) Mammon's Pact with MC
• Mammon, in S3, says he wouldn't make a pact with just any random human
• However, when Mammon makes a pact with MC they are just a random human
• BUT Mammon could also have easily avoided making a pact with MC. Just a few chapters before they make a pact, it's made canon that:
a.) Levi can't even come close to beating Mammon in an actual fight and that, even while half asleep and not in his demon form, Mammon can easily overpower Levi
b.) Mammon is the fastest of his brothers
• Meaning that, in S1, instead of making a pact to get Goldie back Mammon could have;
a.) Overpowered Levi, without having to resort to an actual fight or transform to his demon form
b.) Gotten the card from MC/Levi because he would have been more than fast enough
• Meaning there was an actual conscious decision on Mammon's part that made him decide to make a pact with MC instead. Made him, as far as he knew, sign away his free will to a stranger he just met when he didn't have to do that. Something that, by Mammon's own admission, made MC stand out to him when really they should have been just another random human
• In S3 MC time travels, all the way back to when the brothers were still angels. Here they actively encourage the brothers' sins & for Lucifer to give Diavolo a chance. Before they get kicked out to their own timeline, Michael(??) tells them that though the brothers won't remember them, their actions will have an effect
• As it turns out, Michael(??) wasn't wholly correct as, in their dreams, the brothers (I believe it was Asmo & Lucifer who explicitly spoke about it) do remember there being someone else with them, though they can't place who it is
• In this past timeline, MC & Mammon have an instant connection unlike the initial animosity from their first meeting in S1 - probably because this MC is familiar with Mammon and is looking at their closest friend, while Angel! Mammon is much more confident than Demon! Mammon
• MC stares at Mammon in a way that makes him blush & stutter, enough that he calls them out on it twice. They can find his pranks funny and encourage his dreams when no one else does - enough that he instantly starts liking them (not in a crush way mind you) and by the time they find Levi Mammon's casually teasing MC like they actually have been friends for years instead of just meeting that day.
• MC had an effect on Angel! Mammon - and if Angel! Asmo could still remember them even if couldn't remember them - then Mammon definitely did
• So when he made a pact with MC there's a huge chance that at least subconsciously he didn't see them as just another random human
Because I need validation and I live for shameless self promotion;
1.) Fic between unnamed GN! MC & Angel! Mammon from S3
Familiar Strangers
Mammon gets a little more time with the strange angel his little brothers picked up and picks up a few things of his own.
2.) Mini fic about GN! MC & Mammon making a pact
Physical Contact
Physical Contact made during the Pact formation for all 7 brothers
.
thanks🥺<3

That panel of Demeter floating away with the green streaks following her kind of looks like an attempt to "clap back" at your "add the glow back to LO" edits from awhile back, NGL. It's like her going "See? I can still do them! Shut up, haters!" but she still did them in such a half-assed way that they still look bad. IDK how she could forget the methods and implementation of her own ideas over the years, but here we are.
LMAOO there are a few recent panels tbh that def feel like her 'attempts' to bring back old LO art but if anything it just goes to show how far her style has fallen because even when she tries to make it look like she put in the same effort as S1 LO it just... doesn't u.u
Different but related, it reminds me of this panel:
Tumblr media
Like, it screams "see! old LO!" but like many of Rachel's attempts to address criticism, it feels like it misses the mark entirely of the point people are making (and yet also proves that Rachel's not putting any effort into the comic anymore because that sketch is better than anything that's been in the entirety of S3, it's such a Catch 22 situation she's gotten herself into with this LMAO).
S1 had sketched panels like these because they were literally concept sketches she simply reused in the comic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(literally the actual scene of Artemis proving her skills to Zeus was in the pilot version of the comic but never included in the originals for some reason).
The panel above is more intentionally drawn to look like a sketch just to pay lip service to that old stylization and so it feels so disingenuous (and yet , again, it's still drawn better than all the usual panels we get!) and like a bad attempt to draw people in with false promises of "the art is getting better!" when it isn't, it's just one isolated semi-decent panel out of a sea of shit ones LOL
It's like when someone tries to "prove" they've changed by doing one little thing that they've been neglecting/falling through on, but then immediately backpedal into old habits because that attempt at change wasn't really genuine, it was performative. You can't just do one thing and say "see, I've changed!" because that's just not how it works, you won't know until positive change has truly sunk in until after the fact when you can look back on it and go "wait, it's been a while since things have been that bad, I can't believe I used to be like that!" and that can only happen through regular and repetitive efforts, not single 'big' ones to 'prove' to others you've changed. LO is very much in its bargaining "fine, I did the thing and proven myself, reward me now!" stage of self-improvement IMO.

My Top 12 TGaMM S2 songs (in no particular order)
Kinda like in Centaurworld, I found more songs in S1 than S2 that I liked but that's not to say that the songs weren't enjoyable. It's just a shame I won't be able to make a S3 list T_T
Anyways, here's my Top 12 TGaMM S2 songs in no particular order:
12. Frightful No More [A Doll to Die For]
youtube
It's great to hear Lord Hater again and a song that's an homage to "Everything's Coming Up Roses" (Gypsy) and "The Rain in Spain" (My Fair Lady)...at least that's what it make me think of.
11. It's Just Your Masterpiece in You [Faint of Art]
youtube
This episode was a pretty nice message on art block and a fear of failure that a lot of artists face, especially when they haven't done anything in years. I tend to procrastinate by snacking, which of course I can't draw with food fingers (even when using a napkin) so I gotta wait till it goes away, oh whoops, now the days ended, oh well, tomorrow...
10.Thai Culture Cram [100% Molly McGee]
A fun song showing the lengths that Molly is willing to go to learn half of her culture. Granted she didn't realize that this stuff takes time but she's on the right path.
9.Me & My Dad [Like Father, Like Libby]
youtube
Kid's who have an absentee parent def felt what Libby is singing about in this one. It just sucks when someone who should be important in your life, doesn't take it as serious as you'd wish they would.
8. Hit Restart [Perfect Day]
Gotta love how relaxed the singer is while describing the continuiously hectic attempts Molly and Scratch make at having a perfect first day of the year.
7. Identity Crisis [Davenport's in Demise]
youtube
It's a shame we didn't get more from Andrea this season, especially after this ep. I know we would've gotten her and Alina in S3 but still, I would've liked to see how her and Molly are friends
6. Maybe Next Time [The End] (Spoilers)
youtube
Scratch's backstory was a gut-punch, especially for those of us that feel like we're wasting our lives away. It does kinda remind me of a more sad version of "I Remember It Well" (Gigi)
5. Enjoy Your Afterlife [The New (Para)Normal]
A fun song with the Ghost Council about life after the Chairman's defeat that kinda reminds me of "Go Back to City Hall" in S1
4. You Got to Be Low-Key [The (After)Life of the Party]
youtube
Jinx is such a little shit in this song. Not to mention this was the ep that confirmed that Geoff and Jeff are married
3. Back to Misery [Jinx vs the Human World]
Gotta love a villain song. Just a shame we didn't get more.
2. Trying to Find [All in the Mind]
youtube
Love the abstract visuals of going through someone's mind and the soft vocals and instrumentals.
Honorable Mention 1: You've Been Jinxed [Jinx!]
Honorable Mention 2: Feeling Like MY Old Self Again/Small Town America [Kenny's Falling Star]
Honorable Mention 3: Happy Happy Death Day [The Many Lives of Scratch]
1.This House is Haunted [Frightmares on Main Street]
youtube
Love this homage to "Thriller" but it's also to see ghosts being able to let loose. A great Halloween special
As stated before, it's a shame that we won't get anymore eps but at least what we've gotten were great. Idk if I should do an overall list

the fact that mike didn't let dustin touch will or let any of them even attempt to comfort him on halloween night is so telling... if he'd done that to just max that'd be understandable, because she's the new girl + outsider, but dustin and lucas?
the boys they've known since forever? the og party members? the other two guys who heard him out and helped him even when they thought he was just sick with grief after seeing will's body pulled from the river? he's going to say that to dustin, who stuck by his side and believed him no matter what? to lucas, who went to the gate on his own to find will, armed with nothing but his own bravery and his wrist rocket? lucas, who was so upset and angry that week only because he felt like mike was wasting time they could've otherwise used to find will? dustin and lucas, the two boys who stuck with him through everything and who almost died with him for it?
they're the other half of the party. if anyone is going to help him with will, it would be them! if anyone is going to understand and genuinely care, it's them! undoubtedly!
and yet... mike makes caring for will his role. his privilege. his duty. it's his thing that only him and no one else ever gets to do or share with him.
when lucas gets hurt, mike doesn't push dustin away—it's not something that even crosses his mind. he lets them both fret over him and instead turns on eleven to express his disappointment. when eleven gets hurt, mike tends to her, lets others tend to her, and asks others for help, too. when he's helping someone, he generally welcomes any extra hands and guidance he can get because he wants whoever it is to be well.
the same cannot be said for will.
he always goes after him. he always makes sure to permanently plant himself by will's side, like in the entirety of s2, in s3 when he always stayed near will in action sequences (excl. starcourt) or sat with him whenever the party was grouped up, and in s4 when he again held will back and put his arm over him in the shootout. (i can't even say that s1 breaks this pattern, because he spent that entire season looking for him and never losing sight of that.) he always keeps an eye on him, checks in on him, and wants to be the person that will turns to and entrusts with everything. he has always been this way, has never stopped being this way, and he has never once shown this level of care and attention to anyone else. this is specifically a will thing and it's different from the way that he cares about and treats others, including eleven.
he seeks help only if it's something he himself can't remedy on his own—like the d'art issue. he accepts help only if it's from one of will's family members, because obviously they take precedence. even then, however, judging by how he shoehorned himself into their home in s2 and stayed for the shed scene, it's safe to say that he still feels he needs and deserves to be there in some way, too.
we even have canonical evidence that supports this and suggests that mike views will as someone separate and special to him in a way that no one else is. recall: "the last year has been weird, you know? and i mean, you know, max and lucas and dustin, they’re… they’re great. they’re great. it’s just… […] it’s not the same without you.”
like... i just think it's so fascinating and tragic that everyone keeps pushing mike back to eleven, when his relationship with her makes him feel inferior to her, enough that he can't even call himself the lois to her superman, and like he's some random useless nerd with nothing to offer. he knows that she doesn't need him, knows that she's been lying to him - which suggests a lack of trust in him, and maybe even doubts that she even wants him anymore after "from, el". and he stays in this relationship! because he thinks it's what he deserves! he thinks this is what relationships are like! but will...
will makes him feel needed, understood, and loved. will makes him feel like superman. not because he has any powers, but just because of who he is, because of how fiercely he loves, and because of how brave and smart he always is. will loves his nerdiness, considers it his strength even, and paints him a portrait that shows just that—a reminder for if he ever dares forget. will looks at him and loves everything that he sees, and makes sure that mike knows it, too. will hears him without mike ever needing to say anything at all. he knows mike and he loves him and he makes it known. he doesn't let mike forget and he doesn't shut him down.
in turn, mike views will as his equal, his teammate, and his best of best friends. he cares about will not out of necessity, because this is a role given to him by others, or because the fate of the world depends on it, but because he wants to and it's how they've always been. they're the cleric and the paladin: will is forever going to do his best to heal the bruises on mike's heart and mike is forever going to do whatever he can to protect will.
mike gets upset when he thinks that will hasn't paid enough attention to him (see: rink-o-mania) and he gets upset when someone else tries to comfort will, because he feels that's his place (see: halloween). he wants that to be their thing and only their thing.
in s1 dustin says that lucas is mike's best friend. if mike is this devoted to will, to the point that others are worried about him at times, then what does that make will to him? if, as s4 showed us, going after someone without hesitation even when it's dangerous, stupid, and the odds of success are stacked against you, is a sign of true love, then... what is will? mike took it so personally any time someone slighted will to the point that he physically fought back for once. he almost died to save will multiple times. in s1 everyone thinks he's been acting weird or hurting because of him, but then they see that eleven is a girl and they chalk it up to that instead and inadvertently push him in that direction.
i'm not saying that mike knew what his feelings were in s1, especially since he couldn't even describe what romance was to eleven before he kissed her, but i do think that his feelings were there and confirmed tenfold by season four. whatever will is to him, "it's not the same" and we've always been shown that.

can we just talk about how kenji has one of the Most tragic abilities in bungou stray dogs??? like. the more i think about it, the more heartbreaking it is.
he's fourteen years old and has an ability people would die/kill for. in s3, chuuya called kenji the ada's "trump card", so it's safe to assume the rest of the port mafia thinks the same way. he is immune to literal bullets, to being whacked in the head by hard metal or pretty much anything, he can easily lift cars above his head as if they were nothing,,,
but only if he's hungry.
if you ignore that last bit, kenji has one of the best powers in the show. and like he still does, but my God. he's fourteen years old. he doesn't think his ability is all that impressive. he doesn't see the issues.
since he has a job, he probably doesn't Really eat lunch, and if he does, it's snacks. but also his job is a part of the armed detective agency. therefore, things happen all the time. who knows how long cases will run, who knows when someone will try to destroy yokohama or the agency or whatever. there's been many times when it's been clear that they've had to work into the night. then we have to ask: does kenji eat dinner? no. probably not. and if he does, he probably just eats a piece of fruit or something small. that way, he doesn't lose his ability. he is the agency's trump card, after all. and he knows how important his power is. i mean, that's one of the reasons he joined ranpo and the others when they went against fukuzawa's orders in s3. it's not explicitly stated, but i'd argue that it's implied. anyways. does kenji eat breakfast? well, i don't think so. why? he sleeps when he eats. why sleep so soon after he just woke up? he has to go to work, anyways. so he can't fall asleep.
so, we've basically established that kenji probably has an extremely unhealthy eating schedule due to his ability. but also,,, what about his sleeping schedule? what kind of relationship does he have with sleep? so, let's say he eats a full meal three times a day: breakfast, lunch, and dinner. let's say how long he sleeps depends on how much he ate... so let's say that a small snack is no sleep since it's barely anything, just maybe makes him a little physically weaker. and a normal meal is at least an hour. that's at least three hours of sporadic sleep during the day - one of them shortly after he wakes up. but you know what makes that even sadder? what if kenji doesn't sleep at night because of his ability. or, sleep consistently or well? we can assume the agency actually really wants kenji to eat, even if he falls asleep, so on days when he can't get away with not really eating, he sleeps during the day for an unspecified amount of time. his sleep schedule would get so thrown off. also, he was raised on a farm, so we can assume he wakes up really early anyways. maybe early enough to say that there isn't any reason to sleep because he would wake up soon normally anyways.
and... what if kenji can't sleep without eating? what if kenji has to eat to sleep? maybe it wasn't that way when he was younger, but the older he got, the more his body grew to rely on his ability's exception. like... that's just... really sad. this kid is fourteen.
and think about it. the agency is best friends because they are. they'd probably like to go out to lunch or dinner together. i bet half the time at least, kenji wouldn't eat. why? because he'd fall asleep. wouldn't want to ruin the fun. because then they'd have to watch their volume around him or try to wake him up (and i hc that it's really hard to wake him up for like... the first ten minutes after a meal at least - it gets easier the longer he's been asleep or the less he eats). and what if they can't wake him up? then someone would have to carry him back and that's so kind of them but, well, they didn't have to and now kenji feels like a liability or a burden. like he ruined all the fun.
and he works with the armed detective agency. they've got a lot of enemies. he is the trump card. the physically strongest on the team. also the most naive and, objectively, the kindest. oh and one of the two youngest. can you imagine how vulnerable he is when he sleeps? i would imagine the agency wouldn't want him to eat by himself in public for, you know, safety reasons. and that even includes the cafe downstairs. who knows what could happen if kenji fell asleep on his own? and that's probably why he went to eat with atsushi in s1 ep11: he was with atsushi so he could eat out. one of those rare chances. and if an enemy did get to him while he was asleep, he'd be pretty easy to keep out of it: just keep forcing him to eat. shove food in his mouth, force him to swallow. and there you are: you have the armed detective agency's trump card. and kenji knows this.
and the sad thing is? kenji probably doesn't even realize he's having problems. he probably thinks this is normal. something he just has to deal with - and i don't say that in a negative or self-loathing kind of way. a genuine "it's always been like this; i know nothing else" kind of way. he wants to help people: that's why he came to the agency. he couldn't handle not being able to help everyone back home. he needs to be useful, to help. he grew up on a farm: he values hard work a lot - that much is obvious. he feels like he can't help if he eats consistently. he's probably (albeit subconsciously, unknowingly) scared of what would happen if he did eat and sleep consistently. that means he's not useful, right? that means someone will get hurt because of him. he'd rather starve than someone else get hurt. he was given this ability, he has to use it to help people.
tldr: kenji's ability is so interesting and underutilized in the the manga/anime and in the fandom and is so overlooked in angst potential. his ability most likely has ruined his eating and sleeping schedule to the point where he doesn't know anything different and genuinely thinks it's healthy because it's what he's always done, it's what he was blessed with, right? kenji deserves more love in canon and by the fandom <3

multiple questions. Is Lady Bone Demon alive or did she die in the same in JTTW.
Is macaque alive and is he literal metaphor of Wukong like his a “clone” of Wukong or is he a complete separate being from from Wukong and just represents what evil Wukong can do.
Are yellow camel gang (forget their group name) still supplementing the demon warlords not like they do anything special all you have the DBK, speak of him is the jade face fox still around.
What is Mei doing to do the Samadi fire isn’t split up so what she got to do (the writers really fumble the ball with her well that happen when you are given 10 MINUTES PER EP LIKE WHAT HELL LEGO)? Speaking of the gang are they the same guys or are they still recantations?
What is this demon-human truce I keep hearing about how did it happen? After Wukong sealed DBK?
Is flower fruit mountain still in same place like in the show? Because I can see Wukong using his 10000 ft tall from to pick up all of FFM and pick up a big chunk of the fire ring mountains (I forgot the name of that place too) then place it in the middle of the ocean to be life alone. yes I know volcanoes don’t work like that but come on this world is all really violating the natural norms of our world so what’s one more violation.
OHO MANY QUESTIONS!! :DD
1. LBD makes an appearance but she's just a small fry yaojing like in JTTW, and more of a lackey then the big bad. she did get killed by Wukong but she escapes the Diyu with some help
2. Macaque also an escapee from the Diyu and takes role of bbg on S3. he's his own person, but he feels himself equal to Wukong in power and merit, and he resents him for being given the chance at Enlightenment. not that the option is never denied to him, he can do it on his own accord, but not if he can't gain fame and renown from it like Wukong did.
3. the Camel Ridge Trio aren't part of the Brotherhood, they're their own thing but they got deleted by Wukong in the journey and that's that lol his Brotherhood tho is still around in their own way, and they do resent him for ditching them for Heaven. they arent big bads in S4 but they get roped into a vengence plot by Macaque.
4. Jade Faced Fox as well as the Immortal Compliant are still around but they're on PIF's side while DBK got sealed away. They got only minor roles though villains of the week demons for MK, like Yin and Jin.
5. IM TAKING MEI AND GIVING HER A FIX UP MAKEOVER!!!!! She's overall still like her S1 self, but her arc is more tied to her dragon ancestry than stealing Red Son's thunder. the Samadhi Fire isn't a McGuffin hot potato in S3, her arc is about learning to master her water and weather manipulation powers, and learning how to fly on her own. Chinese dragons need a "protusion" in their head to fly which im just reworking as its an age thing, so best she can do half the time is hop around on clouds, and since Megapolis in is a desert and has weather control.... not much chance to stretch herself. Also she has a full proper dragon form, not just a floating hologram form.
6. the gang is not reincarnations of the pilgrims, the lads are all in their celestial posts post-JTTW and they make some appearances here and there, mostly in a support role. Tang is one of Tripitaka's disciples who also got given a few reincarnations as a mortal to build merit and cultivation. Wukong saw that and went "hey yknow what would be really funny?" and so pilgrim group electric boogaloo happens xD
7. after the journey, Wukong became a boddhisattva, and helped over the years to build trust between humans and demons, proving that they can not only coexist but support each other. Megapolis was the first mixed city to be built as proof-of-concept that a demon-human truce could work, and after a few decades, the truce was codified into law both in the mortal and celestial realm. basically demons will be treated as equals among humans if they don't eat or kill humans, and they can be redeemed if they choose to drop a warlord's lifestyle after community service and reparations are given. to maintain the peace, quite a few immortals keep an eye on the mortal realm for any breaches on that truce, so it can be investigated and punished accordingly.
8. JSBDHSHDJHD TRUE THAT!! But FFM is not sealed away so zealously, everyone knows Wukong didn't vanish, he just went to the celestial realm to work as an intermediate between mortals and immortals and yknow, boddishattva duties. FFM got plucked closer to the shore, and after Megapolis was properly established, it even got a few tourist traps along the shores. there are still monkey yaoguai living there quite happily, those villages we see arent deserted, and sometimes scholars and pilgrims are allowed to climb the mountain for an escorted visit. its pretty lively there!

Enemy Of My Enemy - An Eddie and Billy Fic
I can’t stop writing these two omg 😭 The setup:
Takes place between S2 and S3.
Eddie and his friends have been tortured all year by Jason and his goons.
✨ For @munsons-maiden ✨ If anyone else wants to be tagged in my Billy and Eddie fics, let me know!
Tumblr media
As soon as Eddie got the call from Hargrove that morning, asking to meet in the usual place after school, he could tell something was up. Hargrove's voice wasn't as loud as it usually was. Hell, he sounded downright withdrawn. When Eddie hung up, he chuckled to himself, imagining all the stupid reasons the King of Hawkins High could have to be in a bad mood.
He got turned down by a girl. Or he lost a basketball game. Or both in the same weekend. Now that would fuckin' hurt. If Eddie knows anything about Billy Hargrove, it's that he can't stand losing—period.
So when Hargrove swaggers into the clearing with a cigarette in his mouth, a black eye, and a row of stitches in his right eyebrow, Eddie isn't surprised, exactly. But he still kind of is.
He sits up straight at the picnic table. "Holy shit, dude," he exclaims, then immediately regrets it.
Hargrove ignores him. Approaching the table, he sits down with a long, low sigh, the kind a man makes when he's had it up to here with people's bullshit.
"You got the goods?" he mumbles around his cig.
"Yup. Got a fresh batch over the weekend."
Hargrove fishes out his wallet and flips it open. Eddie glances down right as he's digging out a twenty.
"Oh, uh. Twenty-five for the half," Eddie says.
Hargrove looks up, plucking his cig out of his mouth. "Last time you said twenty."
"Economics, my dude. Prices go up and down with the market. I know, it's insanity."
A muscle twitches in Hargrove's jaw. With slow, measured movements, he pulls out the ragged bill and flashes it between his fingers.
"I only brought twenty," he says darkly.
Eddie glances between the money and the stitches in Hargrove's eyebrow. For a moment his survival instinct babbles at him to give in. Just give in this one time. Keep the king happy.
Then he shuts the lid of his lunchbox.
"Sorry. No can do."
Hargrove leans back, a cold gleam in his bruised eye.
"Your friends got money, right?" Eddie says. "Those rich SOBs on the basketball team? So hit 'em up and come back. I'll wait."
Hargrove closes his fist around the twenty, making it crinkle. Eddie's heart pounds, and his survival instinct starts babbling again. He's about to lose it. He’s had it up to here with the bullshit. Calm the beast before he kills you. Give in, give in!
He stymies it with a cocky smile.
"I'll even take change," he announces, gesturing expansively. "I'll sound like a jingle bell when I walk, but hey, what can I say? I'm feeling generous today."
Hargrove stares at him. Eddie tries not to wither under it, even though he knows he's being sized up, his weaknesses noted and tallied. Hargrove's good at that, making you feel like he can see every exposed artery, like they're all within reach of his razor-sharp claws.
Finally, Hargrove looks out at the woods. Eddie lets go of a breath he didn't know he was holding.
"I've got a better idea." Hargrove drags on his cig. "You give me the half for twenty. And I'll make your biggest problem go away."
Eddie frowns. Wait, what?
"My 'biggest problem'?" he asks.
"Jason Carver. His boys have been making school a living hell for your friends lately." Hargrove blows out smoke. "I'll make 'em stop."
Eddie's eyebrows shoot up to his hairline. "You'll make them stop?"
Hargrove glances at him with heavy-lidded eyes.
"It's that easy for you?" Eddie asks, his voice tight with disbelief.
Hargrove shrugs.
"And you'd do it for five dollars?"
"What can I say? I'm feeling generous today. Though maybe—" Hargrove licks his lip "—next time I show up with nothin' but a goddamn twenty to my name, you'll be more... charitable."
Eddie blinks, feeling dizzy, like he's standing on the edge of Wonderland. Jesus, Hargrove must be desperate. Last week he barely even acknowledged Eddie's existence. Now he's offering to change his friends' lives? The opportunity alone is worth way more than twenty percent off a bag of weed.
Eddie throws open his lunchbox.
"Shit, man," he says. "If you really deliver on this, I'll be the one getting the deal, not you."
Goods exchange hands. Eddie stuffs the money in his pocket. Hargrove tucks the bag in his jacket, springs up from the bench, and walks away.
Well shit, nice doing business with you, too.
Before he reaches the edge of the clearing, Eddie calls, "Hey, um. Can I ask you something?"
Hargrove stops and glances over his shoulder.
Eddie spreads his hands. "Why? I'm not the only schmuck with weed at this school. You could've found a cheaper price in half an hour. So—" he grins "—why the favor?"
Hargrove's look darkens to a glower.
"I fuckin' hate Jason Carver."
Shoving his cig in his mouth, he swaggers out of the clearing.
Eddie's grin fades. As Hargrove disappears into the trees, he closes his lunchbox, props his elbows on the table, and folds his hands together, thinking.

Stop ignoring Mike's character development
Ahhhh I'm starting to get pissed off. Like no hate to the ppl who think Mike still has internalized homophobia in s4 and doesn't know he's in love with Will, but like this theory completely strips his character of any character development.
The major overarching plot for Mike is to become emotionally secure with his friendships (El + Will) and himself.
If this is supposed to be his character development throughout the show, then why would they wait until st5 to begin this. Like if Mike is just extremely repressed and has internalized homophobia in s4 then his character has literally had no development at all. St4 is the second to last season-- it makes no sense from a writing viewpoint to make a character as be extremely repressed and internally homophobic for 4 seasons, and then just stop within the last one.
And when he finds out Will made the painting because he loves Mike, is his internalized homophobia and repression supposed to just suddenly go away.... within 8 episodes?? How is this supposed to be satisfying for the audience?
No matter what the ga is going to be taken aback by Mike becoming canonically queer, but if he confesses he didn't know he felt platonically towards El because she makes him feel loved and didn't want to admit he loved Will then it looks like really sloppy character writing and appeasing to lgbt fans/ byler shippers. Yet if he confesses he knew he wasn't in love with her and was initially with her because he wanted to be normal, but it morphed into his insecurity of I will lose her if she ever found out doubled with his insecurity of she doesn't need me I feel purposeless then it makes his character development satisfying for everyone. In real life, it's totally realistic for teenage boys (especially in the 80s) to have internalized homophobia for years, and Mike had it too from st1-st3 and it shouldn't be ignored. However, this is a show, and this show is starting to wrap up. Mike is one of the main characters; Stranger Things prides itself on its storytelling, so why would they write only him so poorly.
But ya know what makes sense from a character writing standpoint??? Making him secure with himself in the first half of the show and making him secure with his friendships in the second.
Like seriously why would this be his character development:
s1-- Mike is repressed from internalized homophobia, and he learns that he feels valued/loved through being needed through El.
s2-- Mike is repressed from internalized homophobia, and he continues to feel valued/loved through being needed through Will.
s3-- Mike is repressed from internalized homophobia, and he learns what it feels like to not be valued/loved through being needed by El because elmax shows her she's badass.
s4-- Mike is repressed from internalized homophobia, and he feels insecure about not being valued/loved through being needed El because he idolizes her.
s5-- Mike realizes he's in love with Will and not El so he becomes okay with being gay. Mike realizes he's always been valued/loved through being needed by Will. Mike learns to feel loved/valued without being needed by El.
HELLO?!!?!?!?!?!! CAN YOU SEE HOW THIS IS SHITTY CHARACTER WRITING?!?!?!??!?!
like I can't even ignore the writers obviously making a portion of his character arc about being needed considering its the focus on Mike in s4. BUT WHAT FUCKING CRACK ARE YOU PEOPLE SMOKING IF YOU THINK THIS IS HIS GAY CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT!?
THIS makes sense:
s1- Mike is repressed from internalized homophobia, and learns that he feels valued/loved through being needed by El.
s2- Mike realizes he like likes Will, after feeling valued/loved through being needed by him all season, at the snowball but tries to ignore it because of being repressed from internalized homophobia and believing Will is straight.
s3- Mike is repressed from internalized homophobia, but in 3x6 accepts he's not in love with El after saying he loves El out loud to everyone but her. Mike becomes scared of losing El if she found out he is gay in 3x6. Mike learns what it feels like to not be valued/loved through being needed by El because elmax shows her she's badass. Mike realizes he's in love with Will on moving day after being told he'd never join another party because this makes Mike feel loved/valued through being needed.
s4- Mike accepts he's in love with Will and not El. Mike feels insecure about not being loved/valued through being needed by Will after not talking for six months but this changes after resolidifying their friendship. Mike feels scared of losing El because of him not being in love with her and feels insecure about not being loved/valued by El because he idolizes her.
s5-Mike accepts he's in love with Will and not El. Mike realizes he's always been loved/valued through being needed by Will because of painting confession. Mike learns to feel loved/valued without being needed by El.
Do you people see how his character development literally slowly grows in the first half, reaches a peak in the middle, and slowly resolves in the second half????
ITS BECAUSE THAT IS HOW BASIC STORYTELLING WORKS!!!!
you don't have to agree with my timeline of when he realized his feelings for Will + El, but dear lord at least see that it's happened.

Aleksei Morozov
Tumblr media
Here's the faceclaim for Aleksei - the newest Morozovs brothers (only Aleksei has hooked nose like the rest of the Morozovs)
( I was on the fence with that but watching tua s3 made me say fuck it we're doing it lol)
So the thing is Sasha' and the twins share father but had different mothers (never really mattered to them as they were raised together and would never see each other as anything other than brothers and sister)
But the twins' mother had another kid so, he is Cole and Viv full brother and Sasha's half brother.
Aleksei is Sasha's age so 27 (only a few months younger than him) , he was raised away from the palace and brought there after the Morozovs left but as you can't abdicate from the court its sort of an impasse with Sasha still being the heir.
I believe Aleksei left the court or was thrown out (the details are still in the works) and he met the original three. He was dumbfounded at the fact that he has siblings family, but he didn't have anything or anyone to turn to in the human world. So they let him stay with them and use their surname no matter how their relationship would turn out because they felt like he had right to it too. And Aleksei's current occupation is the couch in the Morozovs apartment as he gets used to human world (he isn't completely on the dark about it but definitely didn't visit often)
But there are still problems, Aleksei is basically what would happen if Cole didn't have Viv and Sasha to ground him and to be someone he cares about, so he's definitely very hot-headed and aggressive at times. Upon seeing the twins he's like "I'm your older brother, you're going to do as I say"
To which Sasha is immediately like "You'll order my kids around after my dead fucking body!" so Aleksei doesn't really get that the fact that he's their full brother isn't really superior over the fact that they were raised together with Sasha and has been living with him for years, and they've met Aleksei a few seconds ago (well exaggeration but yk) so it's a mix of possessiveness, jealousy and anger but he would get along with Cole fine though.
About Viv, yeah he wasn't raised at the plaace where it's definitely treating men and women the same way so he definitely sees Viv as "A girl! Fragile l! Protect!" especially since she's his younger sister, but yeah his protectivness is definitely much different than Sasha's and Cole's who might intertwine when things get bad or someone hurts her but usually would let her get into fights at Dennys parking lot at 3am knowing that when she's in a good shape it's the other person's problem.
Now Aleksei is definitely kinda "My little sister, my responsibility" and try to prevent her from going into any danger often in a bit, aggressive, possessive way, which would infuriate Viv.
Cole would be like "woah dude chill, she just met you" and Sasha would definitely be like 🗡️🗡️🗡️ at someone coming in and claiming she's now his sister and insisting he knows what best for her, which Aleksei quite arrogantly definitely does, so yeah definitely the two would get into fights over that.
But if this would be worked out Viv and Aleksei would get along really well, but she would definitely had to tell him to chill with being protective even more than to Cole and Sasha.
Aleksei struggles to process the fact that when staying at the Morozovs apartment /sleeping on their couch he expected to be treated like a stranger /non invited guest. And instead he's treated like family, when Viv brings him some warm/ fresh sheets out of the dryer and some of the guys' around the house clothes, and when in the morning Cole calls him for breakfast he's just like :??????????? (but please do it again)
One cute thing about him - that's the reason why Aleksei is calling Viv ptichka /malen'kaya ptichka aka birdie /little birdie (and because Sasha already calls her malyshka and he refuses to do something similarly to Sasha which unfortunately for both of them they are really similar in some ways)
He was watching her as she was just "jumping" around him casually doing nice things to him, like giving him a cup of tea or making the couch, so he would sleep more comfortably, taking him shopping for clothes/personal things etc he just couldn't help but see/compare her to a literal little bird hoping around.
Unfortunately Aleksei is a complete disaster of a caretaker, usually he's whumper but I'm really vibing with the idea of Aleksei staying with Viv when she doesn't feel well and being just horrible at it, never really having to take care of any living thing before and trying but failing miserably.
He would try to cook on his own instead of "going easy way and ordering takeout" so breakfast lunch and dinner is something resembling coal coated into something resembling lava (?) and generally having good intentions but probably hurting her more in the long run.
If this is second/third time Sasha is texting Viv almost constantly because he doesn't like the idea of leaving her with Aleksei at all but sometimes he doesn't have a choice.
"How's it going?"
"Fine. Aleksei is getting ummm well not good at this but... better ig... He made an instant ramen that was almost edible. I just wonder how can you make water taste slightly burnt??"
Viv has a problem of being too trusting in regards to her brothers believing that they would never hurt her, and standing up to him so Aleksei who's not used to it and being the way he is would definitely force his way on her often, insisting she listens to him, not quite knowing how not to accidentally make her do that yet.
It would end when Viv gets hurt because hw dragged her somewhere without thinking. After that Aleksei still would be quite a big of an asshole, maybe even still insisting that Sammy but he would definitely try to be more careful of not accidentally forcing Viv into things that would hurt her.
Alright here is Aleksei style inspiration is board. I think it's sort of mix of Cole's and Sasha's styles in a things that Sasha wears aka suits/shirts and suits pants and jeans and sweaters at home but he definitely gets those things in Cole's extra /edgy /funky /slutty style so it turns up like this
Also Aleksei has "hello", "goodbye" tattoos on his palms ala Klaus Hargreaves. But with eye as an o in hello and first o in goodbye lol sorry for random Aleksei facts I've been just developing him recently.

Hello, I have a question because you think that in the scene of the minced meat-hamburger 02x15 Sara wants to leave Las Vegas and go to the FBI but instead in s3 she sends her solo in the cases and rejects her 3x22 dinner continues with "hopes" in Las Vegas.
hi, anon!
i'm afraid i don't understand what your question is.
do you mean to ask if there is a link between sara requesting a leave of absence from the lab in episode 02x15 "burden of proof" and how grissom treats her in s3?
or are you asking why sara remains in vegas after asking for the leave of absence and then later, at the end of s3, being rejected by grissom?
or is your question something else?
if your question is the first one i've listed here, i don't think there is a link between her request and his subsequent treatment of her in s3, as that issue is one that is essentially "put to bed" by the end of the episode, when he sends her the green plant. rather, the way he treats her in s3 has to do with myriad other factors, including his jealousy over her relationship with hank peddigrew during the first half of the season and his own worsening deafness during the second half of the season. i outline his reasons for rejecting her dinner invitation here, if you're interested.
if your question is the second one i've listed here, then i think the truth is that sara remains in vegas in both instances (both after the events of episode 02x15 "burden of proof" and after the events of episode 03x22 "play with fire") essentially for the same reason: because even for as much as the lack of traction in her relationship with grissom frustrates her and at times even breaks her heart, she feels connected to him in a way she does nobody else, to the point where, at the end of the day, she would still prefer to have some of him rather than none of him.
with no other ties to anyone else in the world, he is, for better or worse, the closest thing she has to a "home."
sure, she could always find work elsewhere—though, as grissom points out to her in episode 02x15 "burden of proof," any job she would take outside of the las vegas crime lab would be a downgrade from the one she has there—but what she couldn't find would be that kind of human bond, that sense of belonging with someone.
after having been alone her whole life, she can't bring herself to walk away from the one person she's ever truly been bonded to, even if the nature of their relationship is not the way she might like it to be at present.
honestly, when she puts in the request for the leave of absence, it isn't even really that she wants to work for the fbi*; it's that she is upset by the current state of her and grissom's relationship.
* maybe at some point before she started working for the lvpd, she might have been interested in perhaps working in the federal system. but afterward, not really. she's just saying that she is because she doesn't know what else to do re: her impasse with grissom.
she moved to vegas with the expectation that they would be a couple, but after a year and a half living there and working under him, not only are they not in a romantic relationship but he is acting more aloof from her than ever.
as i talk about here,
for him, the hamburger is just hamburger, but for her, it’s more.
he’s looking at their conflict, thinking, “okay, so i’m working on an experiment involving raw hamburger, and sara comes in when i’m already mostly done with it. i don’t have time to slow down because the case is hot, so i ask her to handle the clean-up so that i can move on to the next thing, which is something that is 100% within my purview to do, as i am her supervisor, and she’s my subordinate. she gets upset about the assignment i’ve given her because it disagrees with her personal sensibilities, which—whatever. i don’t really get it, because to me science is science, but that’s her prerogative not to touch raw meat if she doesn’t want to, i guess, so i tell her she can have nick deal with the clean-up instead. to me, that’s the long and short of the matter, but to her, it must not be, because the next thing i know, she’s putting in a request for a leave of absence, accusing me of not respecting her. did the hamburger really offend her that badly? i don’t understand why she’s so upset.”
meanwhile, she’s looking at it, thinking, “i moved to las vegas believing that when i got here, grissom and i would be a couple. obviously, that’s not how things have panned out, though. since i’m a big girl, i’ve tried to deal with the disappointment—to play by grissom’s rules and respect his boundaries, holding out hope that maybe someday he’ll change his mind, yes, but not pushing him into anything or giving voice to my heartache. i get why he has trepidations, of course. i get what’s at stake for him. and that’s why i don’t lobby for more than he’s willing to give. i feel like so far i’ve been pretty good about adapting to the reality of our situation. still. that’s not to say that it doesn’t hurt when he’s callous with me—when he treats me like there was never anything between us, even though we both know that’s not true. for a year and a half now, i’ve stood by, making the best of his mood swings. some days, he treats me like i annoy the hell out of him, to the point where i wonder why he even keeps me on the team. but other days, he’s back to being prince charming, giving me all sorts of reasons to hope. honestly, the whole runaround is exhausting, and i wish he would come down one way or the other all of the time. this raw hamburger debacle is just the latest and worst in a string of slaps in the face from him. we shared that night watching over the pig carcass together last year, and i thought it was a big deal, that it meant something to both of us. but now he can’t even be assed to remember it, and he can’t be assed to even respect me as a person. i memorize and analyze and overanalyze and pore over every little exchange that passes between us. i live and die by how he treats me, weathering the bad days, living for the good. but obviously that’s not how things are for him. obviously, i’m not that important. it’s probably time for me to recognize that discrepancy. i can’t keep waiting around for him to figure things out. i’ve got to do something to clear my head and get over him once and for all.”
and that’s the big difference between them:
at this point in his development, grissom is refusing to look at the bigger picture stuff because it scares him and complicates his project of trying to pretend that his and sara’s relationship is solely professional. for him, it’s much easier just to assume their individual interactions happen in a vacuum and ignore larger patterns. he doesn’t want to acknowledge the grander implications of what’s going on between them, so he doesn’t; he compartmentalizes.
him telling catherine that sara is “emotional” is part of that compartmentalization: it’s easier for him to pretend that sara is having an irrational response to the situation than it is for him to admit that he’s the one who’s making things weird by pretending that there aren’t any personal aspects to this interaction, even though there very clearly are.
but sara not only doesn’t want to take that approach; she literally can’t.
she can’t help but think about their every interaction in terms of what it means within the larger arc of their relationship. to her, overtones and implications are everywhere. it’s all big-picture. it all counts toward the whole.
and that’s what she tells him when she confronts him in his office: that she’s not just upset about the hamburger thing; that this incident of him being dismissive of her isn’t isolated. to her, his disrespect toward her has become chronic ever since she moved to vegas. he’s been so hot and cold with her, so inconsistent, and, after a year and a half, she can’t take it anymore.
what ultimately stops her from making good on her threat to move on to the fbi is that at the end of the episode, grissom takes action to show her that he does actually care about and notice her on a personal level; by sending her the plant, he proves that their relationship isn't solely professional and never has been.
once she has that assurance, she then is willing to settle back into their typical vegas modus operandi.
it doesn't hurt matters that grissom then spends the entire tail end of s2 being incredibly sweet to her.
as for why she doesn't leave town after grissom rejects her at the end of s3—even in the absence of some grand, affirming gesture from him—it's because, at that point, i think she's resigned to her lot in life.
after three years in vegas, she is fairly certain grissom is never going to come around to having a romantic relationship with her, despite what she had hoped for for so long.
so she has a choice: she can either stay in vegas where she cannot have his love but does have her dream job and at least can be in his presence OR she can go elsewhere, where she won't have his love but also won't have her dream job or be in his presence.
and so, despite how pathetic she realizes it is, she decides to stay in vegas, because even without having a romantic relationship with grissom, she would rather just be close to him and have the job he gave her than to go back to being totally alone.
going off to work at the fbi or some other crime lab (or even leaving the profession entirely) doesn't really appeal to her because to do so would require her to walk away from the one person she has any kind of ties to at all.
so even though remaining in his presence while feeling certain that she will never have him in the way she truly wants breaks her heart, she still considers doing so the best option she has.
thankfully for her, her choice to remain in vegas and continue working with grissom does eventually pay dividends, as in s5 he finally comes around, paving the way for them to finally have the kind of relationship she has always wanted.
anyway, sorry if i have completely failed to answer your question.
if you want to send another ask clarifying what you meant, please feel welcome to!

Season 4 vol 2 spoilers kinda (random thoughts or things that happened idk read if your bored.)
So what duffers, you were just queerbaiting all along? The parallels, the byler evidence, all of it for nothing? Before volume 2 I had no doubt about byler and I 100% thought it was gonna be cannon but the love confession threw me off and I'm in tears rn, byler has been one of my #1 ships since last year. I can't imagine how other bylers feel who have been in the fandom since the beginning of the show. The 210+ page slides of byler? Mike pinning, the Mike voice, 'crazy together', Everything just for it to be nothing?
I don't understand, I had so much hope and I wasn't prepared for that scene. I went in there thinking Mike couldn't say it. What throws me off is how Mike says he loved el since they first met, but then Mike pushed el away because he thought she lied about finding will at the quarry. Also heros playing during that one song line when hugging his mom?
Obviously there's a theory about Mike only liking El when she looks like a boy but idk. Bylers, do not lose hope, maybe there's a ton of proof in season 4.
Atleast we got half host will in Hawkins. That to me makes me a bit happy. It disappointed me though, I feel like it was an average season, not really that dark to me like the duffers were saying. Also will didn't come out. We were left on the weirdest cliff hanger.
Did you see how the romantic pairings were at the end when el is picking up the dead flower? J0pp3r, byler and j4ncy, idk could be a coincidence because I don't really believe in those pairing things that much.
It's disappointing to me how I woke up early yesterday morning due to a family matter and couldn't go back to sleep and I'm still not the tiniest bit tired - I've been up for like 24 hours.
Poor Eddie, atleast he died a hero. I think max is gonna be okay because everyone else who was put into a coma was okay, like Henry and if I remember correctly El was put into one too.
Around 2:58-59am before stranger things me and my friend were up waiting for it over text and I said I was having hiccups because I was and she had them too and right at 3am they stopped, that was weird. tell me If you had them too so like we know the duffers sold their soul or sum - im jk but the hiccup thing is weird.
Also I was crying over the love confession when my cat started to meow and I was like whatt? Because I thought she needed food or something and no, there was a frog and it was wet and it basically came out of the middle of nowhere, I'm not joking.
The way Mike didn't notice will was basically sobbing when he gave the painting - why not comfort your friend or ask why he's crying, or did he understand? Jonathan definitely understood and why bring up the Lego thing to talk about it?
Also Jason is just deed now? He got ripped apart by the gate😗✌
I really want will to be a villain now, from how obvious his feelings are and how heartbroken he was in s3 and like tryna hide it or sum in s4(honestly I saw him being a shipper but I didn't think it was gonna be like that) he deserves his actual villain arc but I don't think we'll get it since nothing good ever happens for us. And plus the timing is probably gonna skip like a week or so because of the big gate around Hawkins unless nothing happens but vecnas gonna strike again.
Also am I the only person missing how El brought Max back to life? Also what's with her now? The new her is cool and stuff but kinda scares me cause idk what she's doing. Go girlboss😘
Thanks Noah for trolling, we were rooting for you anyways
I think im gonna take a shower from all the stuff on my long sleeves and I might wash clothes to wear my sweet silk pjs. Wish you bylers luck. Thanks for coming to my (i hope your enjoying your chicken) ted talk.

Hey Steph! How are you? I hope you are doing well!! <3
I’ve been searching for (post)-TRF fics where Sherlock is in Serbia etc and seeing John in his mind palace? I just know that you already have some fics about that but I can’t seem to find them, sorry! :( Thanks!
Hey Nonny!
Ahhh, yeah I have a few I remember specifically. Or misremembered them:
In My Life (and dreams, you take my breath away) by Nina36(NR, 2,847 w., 1 Ch. || Post-TRF/TEH, Angst, Pining Sherlock) – The first time he had dreamt about John he had been in Peru. He had been “dead” a little over a month, squatting in a tiny rented room, the heat and the stains on the walls making him slightly claustrophobic. It had been a nice dream: John and he eating take away Chinese in their kitchen, a song coming from Mrs. Hudson’s radio downstairs, something about friends and lovers and how no one compared with him, his mind supplied in his dream.
White Blank Page by SarahCat1717(M, 11,936 w. || Post-TRF, Clever John, Reunion Fic, Pining Sherlock, Letters, Fantasies) – Post-fall, Sherlock is off eliminating Moriarty's crime web. He finds he misses John. He can't divulge that he still lives, but he placates his need to communicate with John and still feel a connection with him by sending him blank letters. But over time, this writing exercise lends itself to Sherlock exploring his feelings for his friend. What will happen when Sherlock returns to London and the man he has been "writing" to regularly for the past two years? NOT S3 compliant. Mary who?
A Home for Us by sussexbound(M, 30,581 w., 12 Ch. || Scars, Bedsharing, Grief, Doctor John, Hurt/Comfort, Post-TRF, Implied/Referenced Torture, Sherlock POV, Pining Sherlock, Suicidal Ideation, Heavy Emotions, Clingy Sherlock, Hallucinations, Disassociation, Emotional Turmoil) – He has been on the road for two years, and he is exhausted. He’s almost accepted that he will never see London (John) again—almost. But then there are nights like tonight, where he is weak, and all he can think of is the warmth of the flat they once shared, the crackle of the fire in the hearth, the teasing smile playing at the corner of John’s lips, the boxes of half-eaten Chinese takeaway balanced precariously in their laps. He aches at the memory of it, at the realisation that it is something he may never experience again.
Against the Rest of the World by SilentAuror(E, 151,714 w., 20 Ch. || PODFIC AVAILABLE || Post-TRF, Hiatus Fic, POV First Person Sherlock, Present Tense, First Kiss/Time, Big Brother Mycroft, Escaping from Capture, Soft Sherlock, Toplock, Insecurity, Infidelity, Travelling, Introspection, Pining Sherlock, Depression, Fantasies, Yearning for the Past, PTSD Sherlock, Suicidal Ideation) – Sherlock has been away from London for nine hundred and twelve days and counting, and has no idea what sort of reception to expect when he finally returns.
------
I KNOW I've missed a tonne, so if anyone remembers better than me, please do add them :)

TO FOR THE ASK GAME
the first character i ever fell in love with: rebekah, my wonderful smol feral sunflower child a character that i used to love/like, but now do not: elijah, he truly went downhill and regressed so horrifically lol a ship that i used to love/like, but now do not: umm..... idk, haylijah i suppose?? or maybe marcille lmao my ultimate favorite character™: it's a tie between rebekah or klaus, but i just love them all so much it's really impossible to choose. prettiest character: ALL THE WOMEN ARE SO BEAUTIFUL AND MARCEL IS THE DEFINITION OF A PRETTY BOY I MEAN. THAT SMILE AND THOSE PEARLY WHITE TEETH AND HIS DRAMATIC FLAIR. i can't possibly choose sorry not sorry, everyone in tvdu is wayyyy too hot. my most hated character: uhhh..... elijah, i suppose? but also dahlia, mikael, and esther because seriously FUCK THOSE THREE. my OTP: marbekah, klamille, klayley, haybekah, and kolvina my NOTP: idk that i have one for this show... maybe finn/camille, i suppose? favorite episode: that one s1 ep where klaus found out about rebekah's betrayal and then proceeded to chase her around a cemetery for 48 hours without actually ever killing her is just. *chef's kiss* i'm a sucker for that ep because the conflict between rebekah and klaus and marcel was written SO WELL. klaus loved his sister and he loved marcel, but his own issues of loneliness and paranoia blocked the road to his loved ones' happiness, and klaus has let this be the case several times in the last 1000 years. it was not his permission to give for rebekah to "be happy," he should have wanted that for her from the start regardless of whether she asked him or not, because srsly that's messed up honestly and while i adore klaus if my brother did that i might have put him in the icu. that being said: it's one thing for rebekah to have a genuine, and justifiable reason, to be angry at klaus. those feelings are 100% right and should be welcomed, and as much as klaus doesn't understand that what he did was wrong at that point in time, because he was clouded by his obsessive love for his family and his own selfish paranoia, he's forgiven her attempt to kill him before, in tvd s3, because that was the point rebekah found out he killed their mother (lol this show is so weird). the difference is that to klaus, what rebekah did was something that hit far more deeply: she seeked the help of his, of their abuser and tormenter, mikael, the same man she always tried to protect him from, to get rid of him. it's more personal because she knows what it was like to be hurt by mikael, to be hunted down in an attempt to be killed, was just as traumatized, and that makes all the difference as to, say, katherine and stefan enlisting mikael's help, because they have a justifiable reason to truly loathe klaus (not that rebekah doesn’t but. semantics or whatever) and that's why they're not obligated to feel any kind of empathy. i loved this ep because it put klaus and rebekah on equal footing when it came to wrongdoings, and helped them heal their relationship - they both held each other accountable, rebekah wanted her space from klaus and vise versa. rebekah learned how to be independent and establish her own agency, and klaus learned that rebekah having her own room for personal growth away from him does not mean that she loves him any less and that he doesn't have to be terrified of the prospect of her "leaving" him permanently. he also learned not be a possessive ass, lol. saddest death: it's so hard to tell because there were so many truly sad death scenes on this show. i would say camille, or gia, for the first half of the show, and klaus for the second because HE DIED IN SERVICE OF HIS DAUGHTER, TO PROTECT HIS LOVED ONES. HIS VERY LAST ACT ON EARTH, AFTER 1000+ YEARS OF BEING A VENGEFUL, VIOLENT, PARANOID LUNATIC AND ACTING OUT OF MALICE/SELF LOATHING/SELFISHNESS, WAS AN ACT OF KINDNESS AND FAITH AND LOVE. (can you tell i'm still not over klaus's death lmao). THE POETIC CINEMA favorite season: uhhhh probably s3 because it was such a gift tbh. marcel was off exploring an identity away from the mikaelsons by being a supposed "villain" (lol, because he served his own interests that didn't align to the bio!mikaelson's agenda and wanted to asset his own power outside of them, what an ass) and joining the strix, aurora coming back (because for what it's worth i miss her even tho she should have left cami alone), lucien being the kind of unhinged villain that i like, TRISTAN GETTING SENT TO THE BOTTOM OF THE FUCKING OCEAN, davina tirelessly trying to bring kol back, kolvina in the ancestral plane, KLAMILLE [hearts eyes], klayley’s very tumultuous and difficult yet very complicated and loving relationship, etc etc etc. least favorite season: s5 was kind of ridiculous and i have no idea where the writers thought they were going tbh character that everyone else in the fandom loves, but i hate: i don’t think i have one for this show my ‘you’re piece of trash, but you’re still a fave’ fave: KLAUS MIKAELSON NEEDS TO GET DECKED IN THE FACE AND I LOVE HIM. also lucien. my ‘beautiful cinnamon roll who deserves better than this’ fave: camille o’connell and davina claire my ‘this ship is wrong, nasty, and makes me want to cleanse my soul, but i still love it’ ship: klaus/davina, mostly because davina actually looks the age she’s supposed to be. besides it would never have happened so whatever, and i like them more as a fucked up granddaughter/granddaughter dynamic (or reluctant brother/sister in law because ya know this family is weird). my ‘they’re kind of cute, and i lowkey ship them, but i’m not too invested’ ship: josh and aiden deserved better but also at this point i’m just. eh. also elijah/gia and elijah/antoinette. both ladies were far too god for him.

since there's no serial star wars until august and it's a series i'm not sure i can sit through i'm gonna turn this into sentai brainrot.
i like kingoh this much i've watched every episode at least three times and trying to piece together all the information. i love rita so much i'm planning kingoh FLT and dissecting their costume and sewn a plush and possibly will buy a toy during its run
now i'm just racing to finish kingoh brainrot before May 4 so I can concentrate on Visions vol 2. After Sixth debut I probably had to put things on hold for real to do school work. I hope.
it's plot-heavy and serial unlike your typical sentai but almost typically anime/shonen with a heavy fantasy setting and character designs. but do you need more reason than 'rita kanisuka' to watch it. and the tokusatsu action/direction is so good.
practically:
i started a toku sideblog @mofffun anyway so i will be free-r over there. kinda wanna post opinions here and gifs over there lol. maybe polished gifsets here and random gifs over there. my queue is low in the tens but i certainly have many SW stock. i won't remove that completely just, not actively going for it? i'd still do regular tag searches on top of what came on my dashboard, but i might not write/talk about SW for a while? i still have a couple books to read
it feels weird because i became an SW centric blog since I came back 3 years ago. Not to say I didn't have other stuff chimed in but it's been 95% SW running non stop for 3 years. It's weird to have a sudden shift that stays. It's even weirder when you think when i first started this blog in 2012, it's as multifandom as you can get with 5 regular ones. so fuck it. i care about followers and feel a duty to provide? like an editor to a magazine? but probably just overthinking it. i won't force anyone to continue following if they are not into what i'm putting out. it feels weird but i'm just gonna talk about kingohger as much as i want to now. maybe change the blog description in a bit so that i don't feel disconnected. it's MY blog.
Talking about fixating on kingoh. I love the thrill of collecting clues and unraveling its plot. I love thinking again. I love that it gave me a reachable goal to work towards. Though half the time i'm just shouting RITA KAWAII/KAKKOUI i don't really pay attention to what's being said. It's been saccahrine the past 48 hours and i'm exhausted and elated. they got me crawling my ass up sunday at 8 to watch nitiasa live again.
compared with star wars it's just, ₻₻₻ (<- scribble). Mando s3 was a letdown and nobody cares about tbb. i can't stand how hype ppl are for the ahserka series and it feels like a minefield getting to know others with that hanging. sometimes i had to listen to ill-informed forum bros dissing, and when i look at official stuff, i begin to question who's actually keeping the lore.
it's not all negative. i still haven't done a totj!togruta analysis (even though i don't really want to think about totj itself because all it is to me is episode 5). i'm still super excited about SWC2025. i still love ahsoka (yes holding that throne against rita). I know I will be blown away by Visions as well. But I've been letting that define and govern me for too long it's time to let somebody else have a chance.
I'm crazy scared i won't be able to finish work this time. i'd hate that. i'm working the courage to tell my fam i need some space but, every time i actually said that, it's no use anyway. because i'm special. i'm responsible. what i do will never be enough.
i also try not to think to much about the society or where i will be in five years. it's like, some of the things i ultimately want can't happen unless you give it a few years of effort but i don't dare to dream that far. eh
well good thing ko let me think all that. i like thinking. i like writing.

1: give short descriptions of all your current WIPs; 7: what books have shaped the way you think about writing the most? why?
1; I actually can't do that, I've got 40 of the damn things :)))) this is fine. Um, okay. Short fire round of the ones I can currently recall;
marrige proposal ron/harry au, multiple time travel fics for teen wolf, one for the MCU and one for Merlin BBC. fleur/malia crossover fanfic. polyam based au fanfic for buffy circa s3. shield agent Stiles au. steo au in s5. claysmond soulmate fic. alternate sorting fic series year 2. spiderman ron total conversion AU. PlayerCharacter!Ron AU (Gamer!Fic like you used to see on FFN a lot.) Reading the books crossover fic, HP/Riordanverse/Supernatural. SPN/Buffy crossover fic, John = Xander's bio dad. Percy Rebels and Shit au co-written with viv. uhhhh others too- anyway-
7; hmm. i mean, likely the ones I read as a kid. you know, Harry Potter, Beast Quest, Chronicles of Narnia, His Dark Materials, The Graveyard Book, The Gift, Maximum Ride, Code Breakers, Books of Beginning, Riordan's works in the mythological revamping strain. hell, even My Sister the Vampire, Jinxed, The Mediator, and all that sort of thing, probably. Books I had to read for school, like The Last Samurai, and that one i keep forgetting the name of (Cosmic?) where the kid went to space and at the end of the book he was a little shorter than he'd been before he went up and it was like, something about his character arc being represented... i don't remember. I liked that one. But, I mean, I've read a lot of books. They all sort of blend together. Secret Garden was something I remember liking. But I don't know, I think... shaping the way I think of writing, I mean, that would require me to think of it in any particular way? I'm not a very - good writer in that my whole thing about is just... do it. Like, I just sit there and i type and words are on a page. I don't really think about it. It's kind of bad practise. I'm not very reflective as a rule, at least about fiction. Sure, there's probably more to the curtains being blue, but I don't always want to read into it, you know? Like, yeah, okay, maybe they represent, I don't know, a desire for freedom or something, but also maybe I just want to think the person who decorated the room thought they were pretty. And that thinking they were pretty isn't any deeper, doesn't have any philosophical roots - just a colour preference. I like symbolism and parallels and themes and all that. But it can get kind of exhausting sometimes when I just want to read a story. The way I look at it is this; anyone can take anything from any book, regardless of intention. Half the time, the author doesn't have to do anything in particular, and people will still ascribe it specific meaning. No two interpretations are exactly the same unless you're just regurgitating what someone else has said. There's nuance, always, in the individual approach. At the same time, there are correct and incorrect ways of interpreting a book. A book that clearly states 'murder is bad' and then shows that murder is bad by having murder happen and then consequences occur should not in any way somehow make someone come away with the interpretation that they should go around committing murder all day because it's great, actually. Sometimes, there is an objective wrong or right answer. I don't believe in subjective reality; I drop an apple, it falls to the ground, and for everyone else the same happens. So, in turn, there must also be objective truths. In that sense, writing has objectively right and objectively wrong methods of application. But I don't think about it very much. I said I'm not very philosophical, and it's true - once we get to this point, my brain sort of checks out of the conversation. So, back to less existential things; part of writing for me is the feeling. The writing of a book doesn't work for me if it doesn't Flow Right. I think I might've learned some bad habits from what I've read, because people in my degree keep telling me I have run on sentences. And that's true, I'll admit. I tend not to like shorter ones; they don't feel right. Too short. Stilted. Weird. I only like to apply them in certain circumstances; when I want people to feel that same weird. short. stiltedness. That i feel when I read them. Full stops make me pause. It's a stop. A comma, on the other hand, feels freer, like you're just taking a moment to digest and then carry on. But what do I know? I'm a student. Half the time, I don't even read the course books.
I'm not a very good student.
But yeah. I guess I took away what I liked and what I disliked. I like certain kinds of formatting. I like certain kinds of structure. I like certain kinds of perspective. I like certain kinds of plots, characters, dynamics. And I use those things while avoiding what I found I couldn't get behind. In a way, I guess, it all made me think of writing in a very much 'to each his own' kind of way. One man's trash is another man's treasure, and all that. I can say a book is objectively bad, and still perfectly enjoyable for what it is. Just because you like something doesn't mean it's of good quality. It just means you like it.
Speaking of which, I was one of the people who read twilight. I don't like it anymore, obviously. But there's still a large print copy of breaking dawn on my bookshelf. Everything you read is a part of your literary history. It all has a certain influence. You can thank Doctor Who for my fondness for time travel, you can thank My Sister the Vampire and Twilight (and Young Dracula and The Vampire Diaries and My Babysitter the Vampire, but those are shows) for my fondness for the vampire archetype. And you can thank Books of Beginning and Harry Potter and Chronicles of Narnia and His Dark Materials and Jinxed and The Mediator for my fondness for fantasy. And you can thank Beast Quest for my love of friendship dynamics and my annoyance at shipping every m/f pair of friends that ever cross the page everyone seems to do even when they're not like that. And they're kids. You can also thank most of these being about kids read by me, as a kid/pre-teen/teen growing up to want more stories about adults doing the world saving because, damn do these kids suck at making good decisions. Maybe we shouldn't be putting the fate of the world on the shoulders of people without fully developed brains. Probably actually the worst idea we've had so far. Keys to the Kingdom and Chronicles of Narnia, in a roundabout way, is probably why I've got a certain worldbuilding/series project on the backburner. Abrahamic stuff, man. It's everywhere.
I do occasionally do some original fiction, these days, as a result of my degree and wanting to test the waters. I haven't posted anything there yet, but once the blog's done, @cesca-creates will be where my worldbuilding and stuff I don't want to publish is stored.
Another thing, I guess, is that I think stories should be shared. Always, forever, and to everyone. Archival is very important. Nothing should ever be lost to something as simple as time, especially nowadays with all the technology we've got knocking around.
(Speaking of which, once my degree is over, I'll be posting all the stuff I've written for it online... somewhere. We'll see where. One or two pieces may be omitted because i might want to make actual books out of them. But we'll see.)

I've got to say, while Hannigram is very much unhealthy, I actually can't stand Molly and Will ( in the show at least ) for not being good for each other much more. With Hannigram, besides it being obvious what you're gonna get - no relationship between a serial killer and an FBI agent in denial about enjoying murdee will be sunshine and rainbows - the characters themselves are aware of who the other is and what they are cabable of. With Molly and Will one party is definitely left in the dark about the other. I'm of the firm belief that their relationships would have never started had Will not hidden an entire shade of his being. He has stated he prefers lies of omission. And when said omission is a caged monster, you can see how unfair it'd be to someone like Molly. While badass, she's ultimately a regular person, a woman who was most likely searching for happiness and stability after her first husband. Will was simply not it. He used her and Wally as a means to hide from himself and his feelings for Hannibal. If he really wanted to, he could have prepared a plan that allowed him to stay with them. Will is neither stupid, nor lacking in determination. But the fact is, he was not invested enough. He'd rather die WITH Hannibal than return home, which says a lot.
There's also the fact that Hannigram is better developed and tied to the story's themes, so I'm more invested in seeing where they could end up together, destructive aspects and all, rather than Will and Molly. Still, I can't buy into the concept of a happy marriage between them that some viewers talk about when it appears to be so surface level. That peace hinges on Will never discussing with Molly a ton of stuff that would have changed the entire trajectory of their relationship. The whole situation reminds me too much of a couple in real life, in which one person doesn't actually love the other and has somebody else on the mind. Their marriage is this essentially.
I'm pretty sure this view on their marriage and how Will-centric in tends to be ( in the sense that Molly being screwed over isn't really comsidered ) ties into the static perception people have regarding Will as a character from Season 1 onward. They want to see him happy and cheer that the bad guy is put away, far from him. But don't seem to realise how much of a menace and perpetrator Will has become in other characters' lives since then ( Hobbs, Randall, Chiyoh and her prisoner, Chilton, even Bedelia ). What do you think?
Oh, I agree completely, the relationship between Will and Molly feels very dishonest from Will’s side — and I think that’s the point. As Bryan said, we had to see the second half of S3 and Will with Molly in order to understand why he should go back to Hannibal. This life is simply not for him, not for the real version of him. Hannibal is right when he accuses Will of deliberately picking a “ready-made family.” Will showed his person suit to Molly and shared only official version of events of his life with her. She never knew the real him, and if she had, their marriage would have died before even starting because what woman would let a killer and a cannibal who wanted to run away with a monster near her and her child, who’s already been traumatized? Especially after a year or two of knowing this person?
I’ve had a huge number of conversations on this topic, and from my experience, viewers who claim that Will was perfectly happy with Molly cite one specific moment: them laughing together from Molly’s joke about “balls”. Bryan actually mentioned it too once to illustrate how great Molly is for Will, but the thing is, it’s just not what was shown. Because this pretty shallow and short moment of laughter instantly turns into a situation where Molly mentions Will’s “criminal mind” and Will shuts her off. He lies and he hangs up without returning her “I love you.” This says it all — he can enjoy himself on a superficial level in this marriage, but the moment something a bit more serious comes up, the illusion shatters. Perhaps Will told Molly some half-truths, like about being friends with Hannibal before the betrayal, but ultimately, we can see that she has no idea about Will’s life, his darkness and his struggles with it. She innocently encouraged him to go back, incorrectly thinking that Will is haunted by failing to save lives, and then she joked about his criminal mind, taking it lightly and not realizing how grave and sensitive this topic is for Will. She knows he can think like a killer because he’s gifted, but she doesn’t realize he himself is a killer.
I love how the show presents their relationship because it demonstrates how temporary and insufficient a dream-like normal life is for Will. All we know about him and Molly is that they are married. We don’t know how they met, what made them marry each other so quickly. They then have four short conversations throughout the show, none of which is entirely honest from Will’s side. Molly appeared from nowhere and disappeared into nowhere - she and Will were living a lie, which is why their relationship was presented this way.
Even from the beginning: from what was shown, Jack didn’t enter a sanctuary, he broke into a marriage as lifeless as the winter emptiness around Will when we see him again. As a contrast, in another Red Dragon adaptation, Jack comes when Will is genuinely happy with Molly and Walter. They are spending time together on the beach, they are laughing, they are having fun as a family, they are holding hands. This unity and happiness are absent in the show. Jack comes when Molly and Walter are away fishing, with Will choosing to stay behind even though fishing is his passion. It’s a deliberate choice and it says a lot. Will and Molly share a bed: they are married, so it would be strange not to - but they are fully clothed and sleep strictly on the opposite sides. Will is shown sneaking out to read a letter from Hannibal. They could have shown Molly sleeping on his chest, for example, something to make their bond warmer. Will isn’t a touchy-feely person, but he’s not resistant to touch either, and he could have made an effort for a woman he’s supposed to love.
He could have bothered to hug her or at least *touch* her at least once. Instead, when she hugs him from behind, he doesn’t even move to touch her back. When she nuzzles into him, he turns his head away, even though nuzzling back or kissing her cheek would have felt so much more natural. Even at the hospital, Will just looks at her and then sits in his chair. It’s deliberate - he never reached for her at all, even in this situation. When Molly wakes up, he risks touching one strand of her hair with the very tip of his finger (which is implied and still not shown!), and then he quickly takes his hand away. It’s a vivid contrast to him reaching out and almost groping Hannibal in TWOTL. He could definitely show more emotions to Walter - after losing Abigail, he had to be terrified of losing another child in his life. But instead, he just acts uncomfortable, not at all like a father would.
I think Will could never be truly happy or peaceful when he’s hiding who he is. Darkness is a large part of him, subduing it takes efforts. I’d say he was semi-content with this limbo state, but with how quickly he ran to Hannibal, I think he was getting bored, too. Hannibal also senses it, hence his question, “Don’t you crave change, Will?”
I also love Hugh’s and Mads’ commentary on this.
Hugh: You could say that during the second half [of season three] - I mean, obviously we’re jumping ahead here, but Will comes back to Hannibal. He’s now got this family, and Will, independently and pretty quickly, starts coming to the conclusion that it’s not sustainable for him to have that family. Like, he’s not the guy. He’s not the right person to be able to look after them, to live with them. It’s not compatible with who he really is. And you could argue that Hannibal is just driving him more quickly to come to that realization. So in that sense, it is kind of brutal, tough love. His love is saying, “Know thyself.”
Mads: As Hugh is saying, it’s unavoidable. It’s going to happen sooner or later. Might as well happen sooner, before he’s stuck.
And that’s not even mentioning the Dragon’s attack, the way Will stayed angry for three seconds before acting jealous of Hannibal giving attention to Francis, and how he set up a situation that put Molly and Walter at risk just to get a chance to stage Hannibal’s escape. His priorities are very clear. I do think he cared about them to an extent — he is responsive to people who show warmth to him, but this feeling was superficial. In the end, the only two things Will truly, genuinely cares about are Hannibal and his dogs. I’m not including Abigail here because he loved a dream, not the girl herself.
Will is a deeply selfish character, and I love him for it because I find him fascinating.
