things im looking forward to doing in dryad alice if i do in fact ever get my act together:

everyone tells their own version of an orpheus & eurydice story

all of hermes’s stories are real stories he lived through (i think he starts the orpheus thing). it’s not because he’s self centered but because he was old in the old world but now he’s young and alone in a new world and is trying to figure himself out.

chokeberry, as a fairy, tells his stories through magical images, sensations, and impressions, so they’ll be in script form

all of velvet’s stories are about herself and cashmere. she’s the oldest of the group but like hermes she is still trying to figure herself out.

jonathan thinks telling stories is stupid and only tells two-sentence horror stories. wink wonk.

alexandrite’s stories are all nestled together in that the characters from his last story are telling the new one. they’re all about the day before the end of the world. everyone gets sick of them

i don’t know what kind of stories the other six characters will tell especially since meggy and amar are Children and jennet isn’t really the type but i guess that’s the fun part.

on the first day velvet tells the first story, and inanna tells the last. they’ve been apart for a long time and are getting to know each other again. on the tenth day they tell the middle stories, back to back, probably interwoven or connected in some way. because they know each other enough to tell stories to each other again.
