kissing the tears from their cheeks & no matter what you do or say, i’m not leaving you / kass & o / @thewholecrew
Tumblr media
it almost appears normal how the group of them sit at the dining room table at nick's. rev and nick chatter to each other while kassy fawns over alec and his cooking. what would they do without alec right now? certainly, starve in between classes and watching nick. it's almost normal. except for octavia, whose heartbeat swims in her ears, drowning out the sounds of her friends while she pushes her food around the plate. it's been this way today since she thought she caught a glimpse of a ghost. wandering and bleeding in the hall. but it's the exhaustion she's sure. assignments and lectures are piling up. everyone's emotions are fried while they all live on a teetering edge. she'd chalked it up to the unsteadiness of their lives, but when alec and kassy began cleaning up, stacking plates on top of one another, a loud shot rang out in octavia's mind. startled, her shoulders tensed instantly as she glanced around at her friends, noting how no one else heard the clattering of plates together as anything but.
while kassy and alec left the dinning room, octavia took that moment to slip away from the table, wandering down to the bathroom. quietly, she closed herself inside waiting for the heavy weight in her chest to subside as she washed her hands in the sink. warm at first before she'd turned it to cold, bringing her chilled hands up to her neck, patting her skin in an attempt to ward off the tightness. as emerald hues lifted to the mirror before her, a stuttering breath came forward, staring at a bleeding man in the mirror. it's him. garrett's accomplice. he's here. octavia gasped, swiftly turning to where the man had stood, but of course, she stood alone. she killed that man...he couldn't be anywhere ever again.
her teeth clattered together, panic battling with anguish inside of her as octavia turned back to the sink, gripping at it as all the air seeped from her lungs. her head shook as her eyes closed, trying to force the image of garrett's accomplice from her mind but the longer she stood in the dark, the louder the gasps and gurgles he made as he struggled to breathe sounded in her mind. she had to shoot. had no other choice but to save grant. it was him or grant. him or nick. garrett left her with no other choice.
lashes fluttered against the tops of her cheeks at the gentle knock at the door, but as lips parted to speak, her voice betrayed her. no sound coming out as her eyes flashed open, the bloody man still staring at her in the mirror. it's too much. she can't hold this. can't do this. & as kassy came inside the bathroom, her gentle voice checking on her, the dam inside of octavia broke. tears freely spilled down her cheeks as she gripped harder to vanity. "oh baby," her best friend cooed, instantly enveloping her in the comfort of her arms. "i cant, i can't, i can't, kassy, i can't," octavia repeated quietly through her broken sobs, leaning into kassy fully.
it seemed as if time slowed. the room around her deafening even as kassy's lips moved, speaking to her, assuring her. acid turned in her stomach, emotions bubbling over despite octavia's best efforts to combat them all because he won't go away. won't stop staring at her as the light fades from his eyes. but as kassy held her tightly, pressing soft, gentle kisses to her hair and her cheeks that ran with tears, teary hues eventually met kassy's. with her comfort, the panic slowed. "kassy..." her best friend's name came out a desperate plea, "i did something terrible kass, for a good reason, i swear," she spoke in an attempt to convince herself, and the ghost that loomed over her shoulder.
"octavia, no matter what you do or say, i’m not leaving you." with kassy's promise, she nodded as her tears slowed, "when nick was taken...so much happened kassy. i just wanted them both back, and safe, and grant told me to stay in the truck, and i did, i did but..." tears welled in her eyes again, her words coming out too quickly, "kassy, i killed someone...i had to or he was going to kill grant, they were going to keep hurting nick if we didn't and i couldn't—kassy, i had to...i had to shoot him."

WIP Wednesday
Anyway it's Wednesday here on my end of the planet so I'm posting shit because it's helping me not to have a complete and utter breakdown at my desk but here's two snippets of the coming epilogue. Enver might not be a tyrant anymore but he's still going to be an annoying little shit.
"Your wife's crimes are a separate issue to your own, Lord Ansuran. Crimes which will be discussed in due time, but the purpose of this council meeting is to determine your fate, not hers." "Well, as the Council of Four was legally disbanded by the Parliament of Peers several months ago in favour of my leadership, I do not see that you have the judicial grounds to-" "Enver," Kass said, squeezing hard at his knee until he looked at her. "This isn't helping." He grinned at her, but there was a spark of something dark in his eyes. "I'm not trying to help," he said candidly.
And several months later is going under a cut because it's more spoilery for people who haven't read the most recent chapters
"I am," she said slowly, her words pronounced with the sort of precise carefulness that Kass knew meant she was choosing each of them individually before speaking them aloud, "very mad at both of you." Kass blinked. "And I am Enver Ansuran," he said candidly. When Carmela did nothing but glare at him, he offered up a roguish smile. "My apologies, Tavares, I thought we were simply stating well known facts. I was not aware there was a time when you were not exceedingly unhappy with me."  Carmela moved her jaw in a way that suggested she was moving her tongue angrily over her teeth. She crossed her arms in a gesture that Kass recognised instantly after months of travelling with her. "I have verified the details with the girl's parents," she said, "and it would appear that you have both told nothing but the truth. Which, to me, is explicit proof that the two of you were more than capable of choosing to do good years ago, by working together to save the life of a single child, and yet you continued to choose evil at almost every turn-" "The important part in that sentence is, of course, the word 'almost'," Enver said, with the sort of smug confidence that was absolutely going to have Carmela punch him very soon.

Hollow Yourself in the Mercy of Man
Whumpuary2024, Day 09 - prompt: Can't Move
Tumblr media
Safety Investigator Kassa January is called to an industrial accident and finds tragedy in the rubble
An original story at last! It's been a while since I did something original and my god it was hard
AO3 Here
Central-1 grew larger on the monitor as the ship approached, and January tapped a code into the comms panel to request docking authorisation.
"Welcome to Central-1," an artificially cheerful voice chimed. "Please state your name, ship ID, and the reason for your visit."
"Inspector Kassa January, 2171-SD, maintenance tunnel collapse on aft deck 3-Heron."
"Please hold," the voice said and Kass sighed, "you are being transferred to an operator."
Kass brought her ship into a holding pattern around the 3-Heron dockyard and pulled up her scopes while she waited, zooming in on the collapsed section. It was small, a thin scar less than ten metres across. Something had slipped through Central-1's grid and impacted on the side of the station in a million-to-one, unforeseeable accident. According to the report, all four of the workers the station had in there at the time were killed instantly.
"2171-SD, come in please." This was a new voice - human, not synthesised, officious and, based on his decision to use her shuttle code and not her name, busy and rude.
"Go for 2171-SD," she replied, after an unnecessarily long pause.
"We weren't expecting you so soon," he said.
"Safin-Daniels ensures immediate response to high-priority clients like the Central Network," January rattled off, quoting verbatim from the pamphlet Central Network's upper management would have been given thirty years ago when they took out their insurance. It was a very reliable pamphlet.
"Well, yes but… It's just that we haven't cleared the site yet," he said, starting to sound a bit apologetic. "Search and Rescue only finished an hour ago and there are still dead bodies down there." He whispered the words like he was afraid of them, and January wondered where it was on the station he lived that he hadn't seen a corpse before.
"The fresher the better," January muttered before hitting the comms switch again. "That's not a problem, Central-1. If you could clear me for a berth and have someone direct me, that would be great."
There was a pause before the amber light on her HUD turned green and she could guide the ship out of the holding pattern and into the docking hub, letting the autopilot take over for the tricky landing manouevre while she buttoned up her jumpsuit and checked her hair in the dull reflective surface of the metal wall.
The man who met her at the last junction before the sealed off maintenance section looked exactly how she expected after hearing his voice on the radio: short and sweaty in an expensive suit and uncomfortable expression. His name was Salder, and he was anxious for her to finish as soon as possible. Apart from the pop-up pressure seal that divided the wrecked portion of the room, Supply and Utility Maintenance access hatch 73 looked just like any other - a functional, bare metal structure welded to the next functional, bare metal structure in a long chain that allowed entrance to the warren of tunnels that riddled the station. They looked exactly like the SUM hatches on Central-5, where January had been last month, and Luna-7, where she had found explosives residue that exposed the Cassarn Syndicate's insurance fraud. The first thing she noticed were the three body bags.
"Where's the fourth?" she asked. "The report said four men died, I only see three."
Salder pointed to the unzipped empty body bag. "Perhaps you'd better take a look."
January frowned, but did what he said and lifted the flap of the black bag. "Ah," she said, about the severed leg sitting there.
"That's all they managed to find," Salder said. He was resolutely looking the other way, and January thought about kicking him with the severed leg for a second. She put the thought, however tempting, out of her mind and looked at the sealed section. It was a pretty open-and-shut case. As much as she'd like to ruin more of Salder's day, it was a textbook act-of-God meteor incident. She was getting back to her feet when she heard a soft crackling sound. She paused, and it stopped for a moment, and then came back.
"If you'd care to - "
" Shush ," January hissed, waving a hand at Salder until he closed his mouth.
There it was again: crackle, silence, crackle, silence.
"You hear that?" she asked.
"No?" Salder said, looking at her dumbly. January shushed him again and followed the sound, stepping as softly as she could on the rubberised floor so she didn't drown it out.
"There!"
The sound was spilling from an almost-closed zip on one of the body bags, and January knelt to open it properly. The man inside was, of course, stone dead, but his radio wasn't. She grabbed it from the hook on his belt and clicked down the push-to-talk.
"Hello?"
The crackle changed in intensity, and if she listened carefully she could make out what could be a voice. The radio was damaged, probably by the crushing force of the metal walls slamming together that had killed its owner, but maybe one of the others still worked. The first body she checked had lost his radio along with most of his right side, but the second one was intact. It had been switched off, presumably by the SAR crew, but as soon as she turned it on she heard him: the missing three quarters of the man who was supposed to be dead.
"Do you copy?" he asked. January could tell his voice was hoarse even through the tinny radio speaker.
"I read you," she said. "Where are you?"
"Not really sure," he said. "Last I remember I was near the airlock, but I think the crash threw me around a bit and I was unconscious for… I guess a while."
January checked her watch. He had been trapped for seven hours, which was more than enough time for him to bleed to death from his injuries, but other than his scratchy voice he didn't even sound hurt.
"Are you… injured?" she asked, looking over at his severed leg.
"My leg hurts."
"The left one?" January asked.
"Yeah, how'd you know?"
"Call it intuition," January said. There must be something pressing up against the remains of his leg, stemming the bleeding enough for him to stay alive. Salder looked a little green. "My name's Kass," she said.
"Bennett," he said. That was Bennett Anto, the maintenance co-ordinator. "Did any of my guys make it out? I've been trying to contact them since I woke up, but you answered so I guess…"
"Sorry," January offered. Bennett didn't reply for a moment.
"I can't move, Kass." His voice sounded different now. Choked. Afraid.
"That's alright, Bennett," she said, as reassuringly as she could. "We'll send someone in to cut you out.
"I don't think you will," he said. "There's something I haven't told you."
"What's that?"
"There's a support strut that sheared in the crash. Every couple of seconds it shifts a few centimetres. I probably only have about a minute and a half left before it hits me."
"Shit," January breathed. She knew the specifications: each support strut weighed half a ton and was made of galvanised steel.
"Yeah."
"You can't move?"
"No. The best I've got is deciding which side of my head it goes through."
There was no time to send a crew in, especially when they didn't know where he was. Likewise, there was no way to stop the strut. If they could place a shaped charge in the right place, they might be able to redirect it - except they didn't have the time. There was nothing they could do except stand there and wait. Salder turned to leave, but January grabbed his arm.
"Don't you dare," she said. He swallowed. All the colour drained out of his face, but he nodded.
"I'm sorry, Bennett," January said. "I don't think there's anything we can do."
"I know," he said. "I've known since I saw it start moving. 'I will see my fate, and I will greet it, and I will not be afraid.'"
January paused and frowned. "What is that?" she asked Salder. "Is that scripture?"
He nodded. "Neo-Latin Revivalist," he said. "There's a whole mess of them down a couple levels."
January clicked the push-to-talk button again. "I respect that," she said, a little weakly. Religion and the faithful always made her a little uneasy. In her world, a life was forfeit so easily: an acetylene torch left on, a loose wire, industrial sabotage, a locked door left open, poor pressure seal maintenance… the list of sad and empty ways to die was endless. To find meaning in any of it felt so forced and unnatural to her.
"Just one problem," Bennett said. "I'm still shit-scared."
"Easier said than done, right?"
"I guess," he said. "I thought I could accept this in silence, you know? Be a stoic." His voice was getting strained, and he was speaking faster. January guessed the steel strut had moved again and gritted her teeth. "I only picked up the radio to say goodbye to my guys, but… well, you know. I think I'd be a screaming wreck right now if I was still alone."
January didn't know what to say to that. She glanced over at Salder, sweating uselessly next to her. She thought about handing the radio over to him but the idea of hearing someone from the executive class telling a doomed man he was thankful for his service made her feel a bit sick.
"I'm sorry they couldn't save you," she said, in the end.
"That's alright. Just one of those things."
There was a long pause. Salder wiped the sweat from his brow with a monogrammed handkerchief. January tried desperately to think of something reassuring to say in the last few seconds of a fellow human being's life and came up empty.
"Okay," Bennett said, his voice tight with fear. "Next time it moves, I'm gone. So, I guess I'll sign off now."
"No," January said quickly. He needed someone with him, she was sure of that. "Leave it transmitting. I'll be here for… for the end."
There was silence for a moment, and then the radio crackled as Bennett held down the push-to-talk.
"Thanks," he murmurred.
January said nothing, and waited.
It took four seconds. There was a brief scrape of metal on metal, and then silence as Bennett's lifeless finger slipped from the button. It was over.
Slowly, Kass January lowered the radio, and blinked tears from her eyes.

Some OC Questions ask game: 1, 4, 5, 11, 12 (for an extra challenge - not a Clear Queer), 13, 16, 17, 18, 22, 24, 27, 29, 30, 32, 36, 46, and 49.
i can definitely tell you took to heart my comment about liking to receive a lot of questions in a single ask huh 😂
Your first OC ever?
my very first OC ever created was a naruto fancharacter named hanari. she was definitely what you would call a mary sue, but i enjoyed writing her a LOT at first; i made her story into like 16pt font and got really excited when i managed to reach 50 pages, but then out of curiosity i shrunk the text down to like 12pt times new roman and it was only 16 pages and it instantly ruined my desire to continue working on her story. so instead i created my character seyna (her name was different back then but that's what her name is now) and her universe and everything and that started a lifelong addiction to writing and creating characters/universes.
4. A character you rarely talk about?
some characters i have that i rarely talk about are probably the mutant ghost hunters from my old 2014 nanowrimo attempt. i created them when i was fairly young and the story still holds up pretty well considering i was a teenager when i started working on it. the only reason it's not something i've been working on lately is because of Figuring Out Logistics Issues (which has killed a lot of my WIPs lately..... 😭).
5. If you could make only one of your OCs popular/known, who would it be?
honestly i don't think i could limit it to just one OC, because if i elevated one single OC from a story but all the rest of them didn't get to be popular the entire rest of the cast will be like "well why the fuck does THIS asshole get to be the only one who gets popularity??" like my first thought with this question was salaphiel or selius but if only ONE of the two got to be popular and the other one didn't i'd literally never fucking hear the end of it. ever. i think if i had to pick one WIP to make popular it'd probably be my HOSTS story actually just because my vision for the final product of that is "horror game with supplemental lore novel released after the game" and if i could get the game made and released i would LOVE to see people get into the universe.
11. Is there any OC of yours you could describe as a “sunshine”?
oh for sure. karini, and kass. ironically both of these characters fall under a common character archetype of mine, which is "girl with a ponytail who is very kind, sweet, and sunshiney, but could absolutely murder you with very little effort." karini is like super buff and an ace archer whose entire specialty is firing arrows with such force that they can pierce through a fucking tree, and kass went to martial arts classes since she was like seven years old and because she's trans she's gotten into a lot of actual fights so any time she's in a fight in the body of the HOSTS story she ALWAYS beats the living hell out of anyone who tries to corner/fight her even if she's outnumbered 3 to 1. both of them are deadly as hell but also just so kind, the sweetest girls you've ever met.
12. Name an OC that isn’t yours but who you like a lot
since you said i couldn't name a clear queer im gonna say i love @websterweaver 's boys maphisto and arachna. absolutely QUALITY character dynamic between those two. cannot get enough of them. chefs kiss. i also love my qpp’s character jay pratt.
13. Do you have any troublemaker OCs?
I Have A Few. 😂 the ones that make the most trouble for me are usually the terrible trio (gareth, aiden, and blair, with blair ESPECIALLY being a huge pain in the ass) and selius. sometimes other self-inserts can also be a huge pain in the ass. in hellbent heavensent isaac/isaiah is also a pain in the ass, but that's partially just me empathically feeling salaphiel's hatred of his tendency to ask incredibly insightful Armor Piercing Questions that cut through their stupid facade of lies.
16. Which one of your OCs would be the best at biology (school subject)?
honestly i feel like kusiel wins this one from sheer power of Constant Thirst For Knowledge and access to an item that literally gives them limited omniscience so i'm sure that when they're not Scheming they're probably spending time scrolling through tons of scientific information in the fragment absorbing as much knowledge as possible.
17. Any OC OTPs?
oh yeah definitely. dustin/seth, aiden/kass, aiden/gareth, aiden/gareth/blair romantic trio, any incarnation of the hh protag with any incarnation of their love interest (too many incarnations to go through the whole list tbh), any incarnation of the hh protag platonically with their best friend/qpp. there are more but those are the main ones really.
18. Any OC crackships?
i think probably the most prominent OC crackship that i got really really into was seth/aiden enemies to lovers. i started writing a stupid fanfic like story about those two ending up in a weird semi-relationship which started with hatefucking in an alley and gradually turned into a full-blown romantic relationship and it was absolutely bizarre to me how well they worked together as a romantic pairing. originally i was 100% convinced that i'd never enjoy imagining the two of them together because they're such incredibly different polar opposites that i figured it would be impossible for them to get along. but when i wrote it, it was truly amazing how the differences in their personalities complimented each other so well.
22. Is there any OC of yours people tend to mischaracterize? If yes, how?
honestly i don't get enough people interacting with my OCs enough to really see people mischaracterizing them? i think about the only time someone said something "mischaracterizing" about one of my characters was when i showed the first draft of one of my WIPs to my dad and he complained to me about the protagonist narrating the story in long, rambling sentences and generalized that tendency as a feature of my writing in general when it was in fact a peculiarity of this character specifically.
24. If you could meet one OC of yours, who would it be and why?
honestly i feel like i’d like to actually spend time with selius. despite them being a horrible gremlin most of the time, they have moments of genuine kindness and compassion that i feel would make them very soothing to talk to in the right situations.
27. Any OCs that were inspired by a certain song?
i don’t think there were any OCs that were specifically inspired by a song? for me, songs generally tend to remind me more of specific scenes or things like that rather than being the inspiration for a whole character. i usually don’t start associating a character with a song until a character has been developed a certain amount.
29. Which one of your OCs would go investigate an abandoned house at night without telling anyone they’re going?
probably any of the mutant ghost hunters except for lucinda. she’s the only one who wouldn’t fuck with that shit unless she was getting a paycheck.
30. Which one of your OCs would most likely have a secret stuffed animal collection?
kass, most definitely. i feel like plushies are thing she would’ve bought a lot of when she was human and dealing with manic episodes. just a big fuckin pile of plushies on her bed that gets bigger every time she’s manic again because the mania spendy impulses be like that.
32. Which one of your OCs would be the most suitable horror game protagonist and why?
honestly a good question?? like my brain goes to the HOSTS characters first because i imagine them BEING in a horror game, but the important distinction is that almost all of the named characters in that story are horror antagonists rather than protags, so i honestly do not know. maybe the mutant ghost hunters would be best as an answer to this question too considering they’re dealing with ghosts constantly.
36. Do you have OC pairs where the other part belongs to someone else (siblings, lovers, friends etc)?
honestly i’m not sure i 100% understand this question but i guess the hh protag and their love interest are kinda like that because the hh protag is really close with their qpp and some of their other friends??? idk i dont get this q.
46. Has anyone ever told you that you treat your OCs badly?
i’ve honestly told myself that i’m mean to my OCs, lol. like i said in an earlier question, i don’t usually get people interacting with my OCs a lot, so i don’t usually get people saying things like this to me unprompted. but i am aware that i am definitely mean to some of my OCs. just ask selius
49. Which one of your OCs would most likely enjoy memes?
oh this one’s easy. blair. 100%. blair is one of those people who copes with trauma via humor and memes, and i definitely imagine them just using memes in any situation where they’d possibly be applicable. aiden will often respond with similar memes or jokes, whereas gareth is just like “smh. It’s 2am, go to bed.” and blair’s just like “no :)”

finally got around to watching the survivor 45 premier. I'd been putting it off since bb25 didn't hit how big brother normally does.
i'm going into this season know nothing about the cast. I've done this the last couple years and i've enjoyed them tenfold
thoughts no one cares about under a cut
first, I was very disappointed in Hannah. i really liked her instantly, i thought she wasn't going to be a good player by any means, but she'd be good TV. I love watching someone go through nic withdrawal out there, they really become the worst of themselves the first few days, but only go up from there. (think shane, insane insane man but such good tv)
watching brandon struggle was painful. but, at least he got there. liability and all.
Emily WHOA. that moment on the mat? the "i'm smarter than everyone here" attitude. she's got the kass-potential. or so i thought until her tribal performance. that was... oh. so bad. she's out of there soon (probably the next episode if they can't win again)
Also why are there so many fucking lawyers and attorneys? there's like at least one on every tribe??? i'm actually looking forward to them all being on merge and instantly pegging each other as lawyers/attorneys even though most of them are lying about their jobs.

What I hope the second DLC wave will have
Me: It would be super cool if they added Kass mainly since this wave is called guardian of remembrance and in the main game Kass has all this cryptic knowledge from his teacher that we don’t even see in this game. Plus adding him could give us some more story. And maybe since this one comes out in November they’ll add some cutscenes!
What Nintendo will most likely do
Nintendo: Fuck you, here's more weapons for Link and Zelda only. Also you get to play as a Lynel. No additional cutscenes only dialog. Welp! See you in 2022! Me:... ok

Kass gave Link a warm smile, the early morning sun dipping him in honey and making his smile glow even more. “Well, this is quite out of the blue. Not even a ‘hello?’ Much less a ‘please?’”
Link’s lips snapped into a flustered frown. “I’m sorry,” he frantically signed. “Please, could you teach me?”
After throwing his head back to bellow a laugh, Kass chuckled, “I am only messing with you, my friend. Do not worry.” He patted the spot next to him on the landing where he sat, signaling Link to sit by him. “I’m curious about what song you want to play. Which is it?”
Accepting the invitation to sit next to Kass, Link kept his head down as he shuffled over. His eyes flicked around and his cheeks started to redden the slightest bit. Why the answer embarrassed him so much, he wasn’t so sure, but it was hard to get his reply out.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Ah,” Kass said with his smile still prominent on his beak as he set his accordion down next to him. “Do you mean to learn the other Champions’ songs as well?”
Link breathed in through his teeth and shrugged. “Maybe. But I want to learn Revali’s right now if I can...”
Kass looked down at him with raised eyebrows, as if gently urging him to elaborate.
With that, Link rubbed the back of his neck and shrugged again. “Well...I don’t know. I had some memories come to me, but they’re foggy and I can barely understand them. But, something is telling me today is Revali’s…” His hand dropped and his brow furrowed in thought. He knew the sign for the Hylian term but didn’t know it for the Rito if there even was one for it. Opting to fingerspell, Link spelled it out with his fingers as Kass read it closely.
When he was finished, Kass’s beak hung open a little in interest. “Oh, so today is Champion Revali’s Hatchday? I had no idea.”
“Yeah, I…”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“...I think so.”
“You mean to play his song in his memory today?”
Link’s cheeks burned brighter. “Is that stupid?”
“Oh, no. Not in the slightest,” Kass assured, waving his hand. “In fact, I think it’s a lovely idea.”
“...Thanks. I don’t know what else I would do anyway. If there was something, I don’t remember it,” Link said, his hands moving slowly. His mind drifted; not that there was anywhere for it to go after his century-long sleep practically wiped it clean.
He brought himself back to where he was with a sigh. “I don’t know. I would do something or leave him a gift, but I remember next to nothing about him. I don’t remember what he liked or even what he hated. Nothing...”
It was true. There were only a couple of clear memories of Revali that Link remembered now. Only a few moments where Link could see his face and hear his voice clearly. And then there were even more blurry, foggy images of him that were slowly trickling in and left Link with more questions than answers. Leaving him feeling like there was so much more that he was missing. Almost like he was missing an important part of himself; of what his life had been before Calamity Ganon struck.
Really, it was the same thing with everyone; with Zelda, Mipha, Urbosa, and Daruk. Brief memories, some clear and some so hazy they were beyond recognition.
But with Revali, it was somehow different. It hurt more. It was severely more painful. It made both his heart and head ache. And he had no idea why it was the case for Revali out of all of them. Why the one who seemed to like him the least, or even hated him, made Link feel this longing...No, this need...to remember and know him like he used to. However it had been.
Still, even though his mind was riddled by all sorts of questions he couldn’t answer after forgetting everything but his own name…
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Something within him couldn’t quite let itself completely forget.
“But I know that I have to do something for him and this is all I can think of,” Link finished, taking his time with every hand motion as he stared down at the lake below them; the surface of the water was almost black with the light of the morning sun not having reached it yet.
Noticing the gloom that was beginning to dawn on Link again, Kass leaned over and spoke up in a chipper voice. “It is more than a generous gift. Do not sell yourself short. I’m sure that if he is still there to listen, he will be grateful.”
Link forced a small smile to give to Kass. “Thank you. I hope you’re right.”
Kass let the corners of his beak curl all the way up to try and settle whatever troubles he thought Link had. “I must say though, I did not take you for the musical type,” he began. “What does a man like you play?”
Letting out a short hum, Link fumbled around in the small bag on his belt to show the instrument in question. Once he fished it out, he held it out for Kass to see.
It was an ocarina he had come across in his travels. His curiosity had driven him to buy it with the extra rupees he had on hand when he saw it amongst Beedle’s wares. Though, it wasn’t until he actually held it and felt the cool ceramic touch on his skin and the shape in his hands, did he realize it was not so much curiosity as it was familiarity. Or something close to it.
Tumblr media
And again, it was proven to Link that while his head was clear of what made him himself in the past, there were many things that his body seemed to remember. Muscle memory helped him ride horses like a pro straight away, and instinct along with that allowed him to fight the way he had before without needing to relearn much of anything. It was the same sort of thing for the ocarina; as soon as he brought the mouthpiece to his lips, his fingers knew exactly where to go to play notes he didn’t remember and songs he couldn’t recall. It all came to him naturally as if playing it was once something that was ingrained in him. And he found himself occasionally fiddling with it until now. Too busy to really sit down and learn anything new, but playing what his lips and fingers remembered when he had a moment to himself.
If Link couldn’t leave Revali a proper gift on his Hatchday, then at least he could play his song, one of the last things the world had left to remember him by. Whether it was for Revali himself, if he was still there, or if it was in his memory on his day.
Or, even if it was just for Link; a way to remember Revali with what little he had left.
Hopefully, it would be enough. But it definitely didn’t feel like it, even if it was all he could really do.
“An ocarina certainly does suit you,” Kass said, looking at the instrument in Link’s hands before peering at him and pointing at it. “Ah, may I?”
Link nodded, allowing Kass to take the ocarina in his hands and examine it himself.
“Can you play it, too?” Link asked.
Tittering, Kass replied, “Well, Rito aren’t exactly equipped to play wind instruments, considering our anatomy.” He tapped his beak. “Though, I think once I found a way around it to make it work with this blasted thing on my face. Would you mind if I tried?”
Link’s lips tightly creased together to keep him from smirking as he shook his head and motioned toward the ocarina. He watched as Kass brought it to his beak, which clacked against the ceramic as he tried to find the best position.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kass’ feathers ruffled; clearly, he was flustered, but he tried his best to get past it by laughing it off. “Well, this is certainly humbling. This proves that no matter how esteemed of a bard I may be, I simply cannot master everything...What with my pesky beak and less than graceful fingers.” He rubbed the mouthpiece of the ocarina on his scarf before handing it back to Link.
With how much spit he saw flying from Kass when he was trying the ocarina, Link decided to rub it again on his clothes for good measure.
Kass let out another embarrassed chuckle and twisted around to grab his accordion. “I might not be able to give you direction, but I can teach you the notes.”
Link nodded. “That works,” he said, his last words before readying his hands to focus on his ocarina rather than on speaking.
Smiling while he slid his hands through his instrument’s straps, Kass said, “Well, let’s begin then.”
~
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Link opened his mouth to say something, finding himself gaping at Vah Medoh, but clamped it shut again. He attached the ocarina to his belt for a moment to speak with his hands.
Whether he was really alone or if there was still someone there to see him, he was not sure at all. After the defeat of Ganon, he was never sure what happened to Revali or the others.
Even so...he had the feeling he wasn’t quite alone.
But maybe that was just him being hopeful. Hopeful that he wasn’t just making a fool of himself. Grasping at straws for nothing.
“Hi.” Instantly, he cringed at himself and hissed through his teeth. Now he really felt stupid. Nonetheless, he made himself go on. “I’m not sure if you’re even here right now or if I’m talking to myself. But, either way-“ Link took a second to swallow and fix his eyes back down to the ground beneath him. “I wish I could say I remember you. There are only little things I remember, but something is telling me there’s so much more to you...to us...that I’m still missing.”
Link licked his lips. He hoped that he was, in fact, alone, so Revali wouldn’t be seeing him rambling on to himself.
“But I know that we were close somehow. I feel that, once, you were the most important thing to me, but that’s all I know. I’m sorry.” He bit his lip that was still wet from when he licked them. “That’s why when I remembered it was your birthday-“ Link froze, then corrected, “Sorry, hatchday...I knew I had to do something for you, because, in a way, you still matter to me now as much as you did before. But you’re still a mystery to me; I know nothing about you further than you being a Champion and being the pride of your people.” He laughed a little to himself. “And that you didn’t like me at all. At first, at least. I’m not sure.”
Finally, he racked up the courage to look back up at Vah Medoh. “I do know your song though, which I’m sure you’d like to know is played by bards to keep your memory alive. I’m not one of those at all, but I can just barely remember how to play this thing and Kass taught me how to play your song. One of the things of yours that’s still here- Even if these are all the memories I can ever have of you, at least I can have this. And your bow, too.”
Nervously, he started to chuckle to himself. “I don’t know what I’m saying. Maybe I never should’ve said anything. Anyway, the point is...I know it’s a crummy present and I don’t know if you’re even still here to listen, but I learned how to play your song for you.”
Done with his monologue, Link anxiously took the ocarina off of his belt. For a moment, he stared at it and focused on the cool touch of it in his hand before slowly bringing it up to his mouth. He took in a deep breath while his fingers went to their places and he played what he learned for Revali.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dormant, Vah Medoh said nothing in reply, leaving Revali alone to revel in both Link’s appearance and song. That was fine. He honestly hadn’t expected her to reply anyway.
Even when he couldn’t even remember him, Link was still annoyingly sentimental. It brought bittersweet comfort that, even with everything that had happened, it was still the same Link before him. His Link.
He had the same golden hair he used to run his fingers through. The same lustrous, sapphire eyes he used to stare into. The same quiet laugh that warmed Revali’s heart. The same strength that Revali both envied and once fell in love with. The same kindness. The same courage. The same everything. Every little thing Revali loved and even hated about him was still there, down below, playing a song for someone he didn’t even know anymore.
Still, it hurt knowing Link didn’t know him. Seeing no recollection on his face when Link first came to Vah Medoh...Seeing Link looking at him as if he was a stranger…
Well, it nearly broke his heart. To be eventually forgotten by his people was worse enough, but then to have the one he loved come back to him only to forget him, too…
Revali sniffed, resting his hand under his chin to watch Link far down below.
Link was right. This was a crummy present. His finger clumsily fumbled around and he kept blowing into the ocarina’s mouthpiece too hard or too soft. Even from here, he could see his spit flying. Funny how, even over a hundred years later, he never did get better with that thing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He really was still his Link. Just how he remembered him. Just how he loved him. How he would, unfortunately, always love him. Even if it meant being unrequited for the rest of time.

you sure do know how to work a crowd. / kass & o / @thewholecrew
Tumblr media
all her teenage years, octavia's enjoyed being on the other side of the bar where all her friends are dancing and enjoying their night lives. but with nick gone and rent for her loft due soon, working behind the bar wasn't half as bad as she thought it would be. nate was around, floating to whatever job he was assigned to. her brother and hunter came and went frequently. her friends spent their evenings here, getting more than their fair share of free drinks. considering how the last few months had felt, being surrounded by all her people was a nice change, one she basked in.
with atom working one end, octavia occupied the other with a large crowd of happy customers, all cheering as she lined up colourful shots for them all. on this side of the bar, octavia could still dance and move her hips as she poured drinks, enjoy the music and the club atmosphere, and get paid—plus, the tips she raked in were almost as nice as her side business some nights.
her cheeks were flushed with heat from working as octavia gathered the cash on the bar top as her best friend popped up to the bar with trinity and alec in tow. instantly, octavia's eyes brightened, smile lighting her face genuinely to see her people. "hey babes! you all having a good night?" she asked, putting the bills away in the cash register before she leaned over the ice well to be closer to her friends. you sure do know how to work a crowd, kassy chimned in as the crowd of customers slowly dispersed onto the dance floor.
octavia's shoulders lifted, eyelashes batting innocently as she grinned toward kassy. "what can i say, the people love me, i'm totally a natural." she beamed as she lined up four shot glasses before she set off to make a sweet drink. after pouring a few mixtures of alcohol and syrups into her glass, octavia rounded back towards her friends, putting on a little show as she shook her concoction, stirring it with a bar spoon, then gracefully pouring it across the four shot glasses. "you can thank me later," she chuckled confidently, her pony tail swishing across the back of her neck with her steps.
octavia tipped the shot back quickly, a sour look over taking her features before her nose wrinkled in disgust. okay...so sometimes being a bar tender wasn't so easy. as she set her glass down, watching the faces her friends made, octavia nervously chuckled, "whatever, so i'm not above being just a hot bartender, the point is....you guys get free drinks."

History 3 Trapped Filming Diary (full English translation) - Days 1-10
Just before you start reading, a little note of explanation: the author of this diary will frequently use the character’s name when they mean the actor. I have added the names of the actors between square brackets sometimes to avoid confusion. Also between square brackets you will find some words that are implied, so I added them in the translation to make the translation a bit smoother, but they aren’t included in the Chinese text.
The book’s author will also talk in the first person POV sometimes, refering to themselves as either “I”, “we” or “this little editor 小编”.  So each time you see me write “I”, it is not my own opinion I’m inserting in the text, but the author/editor’s. If I have anything else to add or explain myself, I’ll add it in a note at the end of the text.
I’ll repeat: I don’t own the book so I can’t post my scans of the pictures that came with every day. So I posted some other pictures of the scenes that were being filmed with each day. These pics belong to LINE TV or Choco Media, or I’ve taken screenshots.
Day 1-10 under the cut.
Day 1
Tumblr media
The first day of shooting happened to coincide with ‘Li Dong’⁕ but the temperatures of that day soared to 29 degrees. The crew was going sleeveless, but the actors were all wearing sweaters or dress shirts. Tang Yi, who had on the most, was wearing a turtleneck sweater and a suit jacket on top at one point, but he didn’t sweat very much.⁕ Meanwhile A De [Stanley], wearing a shirt and a suit jacket, was [clad] the ‘thinnest’ at the scene. When he got off work and took off his sweaty shirt, the wardrobe department exclaimed: “This shirt is so wet!”
Officer Meng’s scenes for that day consisted of eating from 10 am in the morning until 6pm in the evening. He basically ate from when he got to work until he got off work. All in all he had two large bags of rice and poured 4 liters of coca cola. Junhao [Jake] will start sweating profusely and start flushing when he eats spicy food, so as soon as the director yelled ‘cut’, the crew would immediately pass him a plastic bag so he could spit out the spicy Kung Pao Chicken he was eating.
⁕ Li Dong 立冬 literally means ‘establishing the winter’, so it is some kind of winter solstice in Asian culture. In the Gregorian calendar, it falls on 7 or 8 November. According to the IG stories of some of the cast of Trapped, it was indeed 7 November 2018 when shooting started.
Tumblr media
⁕ Chris apparently doesn’t sweat much, no matter how hot he gets. He says as much in his vlog as well. I envy him, because I’d just be sweating buckets like Stanley.
Day 2
Tumblr media
The first meeting between Tang Yi and Wenhao is also the second time that Chengyang [Chris] and teacher Jiakui [Chen Jiakui, the actor who plays Chen Wenhao] worked together. They cooperated for the first time on a movie. At that time teacher Jiakui served as the movie’s drama teacher. When Chris had gone through make-up in the early morning, he sat alone in a corner with the script. You could easily see that he was conflicted and upset. [For the other movie] teacher Jiakui was Chris’ mentor, but here Wenhao was the target of Tang Yi’s revenge.
In the process of their scenes where they faced each other, the director hoped that Tang Yi could hate Wenhao even more, but Tang Yi’s personality is subdued and calm. So how could he fly into a raging fit and still keep his calm? In a part that was not captured on camera, teacher Jiakui aggravated some lines to make Chris more infuriated. Afterwards teacher Jiakui also said that the role of Tang Yi is not easy to perform. [Tang Yi] is a young mob boss, The hate in his eyes must therefore also carry a bit of youthfullness, which is difficult to experience for normal people in the course of their lives.
Day 3
Tumblr media
Today was the first time that Zhaozi arrived on set, and while he was bored waiting for his scenes, Zhaozi started to act as the shop’s clerk to sell suits. Apart from suits, bowties and regular ties, he even managed to sell shoehorns. By oneself, the words just kept on flying out of his mouth which left Shaofei beside him looking dumbfounded (if you want to see Shaofei’s dumbfounded meme-like look, you have to absolutely watch the behind-the-scenes on the DVDs)⁕. [Shaofei] continued to shout “If you buy a shoehorn you get Zhaozi for free with it, please someone take Zhaozi away, Unit 3 can’t stand it anymore.”
Boss Tang was tired, and took a nap in his own shop. ‘Just a little while will do. Shaofei and A De, you two be on the lookout for me, and if the director is coming, remember to wake me.’
⁕ Excellent advice. Please do watch the behind-the-scenes after finishing this book, because a lot of what is written here is visualized in the bts. The bts are arranged per episode though, and not per filming day, but it’s still amazing to be able to see what went on.
Day 4
Tumblr media
The set for the offices of Investigation Unit 3 is actually the office of LINE TV’s Choco Media branch. The contemporary industrial style caused the atmosphere among Unit 3 to be even more lively.
For Unit 3’s first scene together, the director used a one-shot to have everyone appear on the scene, which meant that the first time all the actors were present, they had to have a ‘chemistry’ test. But apart from the actors, chemistry also had to be there for the whole staff, as the directing crew, the camera crew and the sound crew, really everyone, also had to follow [the actors] along⁕. I still remember that by the 20th take, everyone’s lines ran very smoothly, the shot was satisfactory and everyone was where they were supposed to be. The director and the crew were holding their breath in concentration, and just when they thought they’d succeed, A Zhi [character Zhou Guanzhi, played by Kass Tsai] forgot a line in the very last sentence hahahaha. In the end, this round took 27 takes.
⁕ The author uses a metaphor/reference here. They write 乾坤大挪移 which means something like ‘The Great Shift of the Cosmos’ and is apparently a kind of martial art from a martial arts novel. It consists of 7 increasingly difficult skill levels, whereby the 7th level is almost unattainable. In other words, shooting this one-shot scene required the whole cast and crew pulling off this great cosmos shift, and thus was a big, big challenge.
Day 5
Tumblr media
After we shot the scene where the two idiots from Unit 3 [Shaofei and Zhaozi] got into trouble and received an explosive scolding by Dapao [Shi Dapao, the name of Unit 3’s Captain]⁕, the director told Shaofei that she wanted to add a scene where he sat next to the window thinking about Sister Lizhen, continuing in the same mood [as the previous scene]...Everyone in Unit 3 felt that Shaofei was continuing to set his teeth into a meaningless old case. If there had only been some progress in the investigation...but [Shaofei] not only didn’t find any new leads, but he also got into trouble everywhere. If Sister Lizhen would still be alive, he wouldn’t be like this now...Shaofei really, really missed sister Lizhen. Rather than say that the director added this scene at the last moment, it’s more like she deliberately didn’t tell Junhao [Jake] that she would add this part.
When they were shooting, the director played the music from the music box through the megaphone and from time to time talked as well, to provoke moody feelings in Jake. In the end Jake grabbed his phone and scrolled through his mother’s Facebook, and to all our surprise Jake started bawling, so much so that even after the ‘cut’ he couldn’t stop, until the director walked over and lightly patted him on the back. To be able to cry like that in a short amount of time, even he himself hadn’t expected that.
⁕ How much fun is it that the name of the Captain of Unit 3 literally means big cannon, when he explodes in anger all the damn time? 😂 I am quite convinced that in the hospital scene where Shaofei tells Tang Yi of his fortune-telling and that only a cannon can strike him down - he uses the exact same wording ‘dapao’ - it’s actually an inside joke and he may not have meant ‘cannon’ literally.
Day 6
Today’s weather couldn’t be called very fine, and when we were shooting until 3 or 4 P.M., the daylight was almost gone, just when the filming location had large windows in every corner that reached the ground. Our funny director said “Why did the production team run out of light after 3 P.M.? Did they forget to send notice⁕ to the sun?” This caused the crew that was present to not know whether to laugh or cry. But in the end, before the sun got off work, everyone else smoothly finished their job as well.
⁕ the term “to send notice” is quite literal, but the word is indeed an entertainment industry term as well, that means to hire someone for a short amount of time or for a specific show, without there having to be a longer-term contractual agreement. So it could also be translated as “did they forget to hire the sun [to star in today’s scenes]?”
Day 7
Tumblr media
It was a day with complicated feelings for Shaofei and little Tang Yi, as Shaofei discovered Tang Yi’s past history.
Before going to meet the adoptive father of his lover, of course Shaofei had to straighten himself out first and shave his beard to leave a good impression. In the evening, today’s final scene was shot. Before starting filming, the director hoped that [Tang Yi’s] adoptive father could guide little Tang Yi’s mood, because the intensity of this scene needed to bring out the reason why Tang Yi’s feelings for Tang Guodong ran so deep and make everyone feel the warmth that Tang Guodong brought to Tang Yi even more.
Under the constant conflict of raising [little Tang Yi] through much difficulties, a loud and clear slap came down heavily on little Tang Yi’s face. The silence at the [shooting] site caused the loud sound to be infinitely amplified, and the director and the crew were all shocked. When the ‘cut’ sounded, little Tang Yi instantly started crying, and the director rushed to the room immediately. On every crew member’s face was reluctance and shock. Meanwhile the adoptive father sat with his head down on the sofa, full of remorse.
An extra tidbit from the same scene: the crew’s love for little gadgets
There are always a few conspicuous toys in front of the director’s monitor. She explained that these were toys that members of the crew who are close to her gave her to alleviate stress. I don’t know which toy is the director’s favourite?
Tumblr media
 Day 8
Tumblr media
For the setting of the toilets of Unit 3 we actually used the toilets in a department store. Zhaozi, who arrived at the store very early in the morning, was hit on by an older lady who was just coming into work. The lady said: “Aren’t you Zhao Youting [Mark Chao]? You definitely are Zhao Youting!!” Even though Zhaozi went on to deny it, the lady didn’t listen and believed that this handsome guy in front of her was Zhao Youting himself.
Actually, Zhaozi passed on the above story [to us], and no one actually saw this older lady. Zhaozi often tells bluff stories with a straight face, but I [this little editor] have my reservations about its credibility. But be as it may, after he was told that he looked like Zhao Youting, Zhaozi’s acting skills immediately leveled up. So okay, whether or not the story was real, we thank this lady ‘from the legends’.
Day 9
Tumblr media
Can I call you dad after this hug?
I still remember the story of a friend coming out to his mother. He said to his mom: “I’m sorry if this thing disappoints you. I don’t dare to ask for your blessing. I just hope that you can show some understanding.” Through a chat message, his mother could only briefly reply: “If your other half is a good kid, I will give you my blessing.”
Many people in a same-sex relationship don’t dare to confess to the older generation and they don’t dare to ask for their blessings. Their only hope is not to be hated. It’s like that facing this society, and it’s the case when facing your beloved family. When Wenhao and Shaofei met each other, Wenhao gave Shaofei a hug. This hug must have carried [Wenhao’s] unspoken blessing.
No worries, dear father-in-law. I, Officer Meng, will take care of everything (pats on the back).
Wenhao and Guodong together brings its own hint of romance.⁕ The fighting was very intense that day, so much so that the police dispatched a Quick Fight Force team in concern [for the situation].
⁕ The term that the author uses is 腐味 (fuwei, the taste of fu). The first character, ‘fu’ is the same ‘fu’ that is used in terms like fujoshi 腐女子 and fudanshi  腐男子 (which are Japanese) but it’s the same pronunciation for that first character. So the author implies that there might have been something more than friendship going on between Chen Wenhao and Tang Guodong. They imply the same thing later in the book as well (day 60, where the two are called a CP).
Day 10
A Mei [Stanley] who portrays A De, said that he was the expert in getting beaten [in this drama]. I say that Stanley definitely dedicated himself to taking on that role. Many times his head bumped into the wall and the crew told him to take a break, but Stanley couldn’t stop yelling “no no, hurry up, I’m familiar with it now!”
All the way through the end Officer Meng and Vixen⁕ no.1, A De, cheered each other on before ‘Action!’ [was called].
⁕ The word for vixen is ‘fox spirit’  狐狸精 in Chinese. I love that and I could probably write essays on this subject. In classical Chinese literature, foxes were most of the time portrayed as (mainly female) temptresses who seduced males for sex and then didn’t shy away from sucking the soul out of them, kind of like a succubus. If anyone is ever in the mood for some academic literature about foxes in late imperial China, I've got you covered  https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3237790-alien-kind
So A De and Andy are constantly referred to as these foxes who want to seduce Tang Yi and snatch him away in front of Shaofei’s eyes.

Why Me!? Chapter 15
A/N: Sorry I took a while to update my peeps. Fun fact this chapter was originally over 2,500 words so I split it. After going through a massive edit it was still long anyways:). So Enjoy the fact that Chapter 16 is going to come out very soon, also more one shots will be posted. Check out the most recent one if you guys haven’t :)
“NO WAY,NO, ABSOLUTELY NOT,” Marinette yelped “SCREW SOCIAL INTERACTION!!!” leaping from the chair she immediately started pacing around.
“Marinette you have to go to School, you’re too smart and can't always be cooped up here.” As much as Bruce would love having his children to stay in the relative safety of the house “Besides you wouldn’t be alone Tim and Damian both go to Gotham Academy”
“B-but Bruce” he allowed shock to flood his body because finally his daughter wasn’t calling him Mr.Wayne. Uck. He knew Stark was still dealing with that problem with his own protege. “Gotham Academy is one of the most prestigious schools in the States not to mention expensive”
“Marinette, do you realize that the cost is nothing to me?” Oh god he went through this with most of his children, the whole "please don’t waste your money on me” routine. “it’s my job as a father to make sure my kids are safe AND are receiving a great education”
“The cost means a lot to me-hold up don’t they offer scholarships?” She asked a glimmer of hope in her eyes
“Yes but they are mostly for kids who otherwise wouldn’t be able to attend, The Wayne foundation offers a few, anyways you won’t be completely alone Tim and Damian both go to Gotham Academy” Bruce explained, Jesus all of his kids were so weird about money, well most of them, Damian and Tim were something else.
“Ugh Fine, what about my parents? Will they be okay with it?” No way would Maman and Papa allow it.
“Oh they already enrolled you, your mother just thought that I deserved the honor of telling you” he said rolling his eyes.
“WHAT!!!!”
Oh boy maybe he should have let Dick and Alfred handle this.
Cesaire Apartment                                                                                      Paris, France                                                                                            5:00pm
“Come on Think about it Nino, Marinette’s gone what could she do anyways?” Alya asked her boyfriend on facetime, unfortunately she and Nino couldn’t go out, both were stuck taking care of their siblings. Joy.
“Alya im not sure…... the article seems a bit too far, I mean Chat Noir hasn’t exactly been helpful lately, plus he HAS been acting rather childish lately,” Nino Responded, He might need glasses but that doesn't mean he was blind to the Chat Noir situation. He’s been distracting Ladybug and he hasn’t bothered showing up a few times to the Akuma Battles!!! Some hero. “Why not post the video of your interview with Adrien? That will instantly attract all of his uh eager fangirls” he offered
“Apparently sunshine boy has to ask his Dad for permission, so this article is the next best thing” The article she was referring to was in response to the video of Marinette lecturing Chat Noir. It wasn't as much fact based but opinion based
“Why are you still hung up on Marinette so much? She used to be our best friend”
“She's a bully, who constantly attacks Lila, and still hasn’t confessed to what she has done”
“What if it’s Lila who is lying?” Nino asked cautiously, he never knew what would set Alya off these days.
“Not you too, you know what? Maybe you should just switch classes like the rest of the traitors if you believe that” she scowled. “Go be on their side”
“Sides What sides? Alya there isn’t any sides”
“Yes there's the right side and the wrong side”
“What makes you so sure that we're on the right side?” Nino finally asked. He has been having his doubts. Something about Lila’s stories just wasn't adding up.
“You’re being Ridiculous Nino, You know what? I don't want to talk to you right now, you obviously won't listen” Alya screeched ending the call. Nino Stared at the dark screen with his jaw open in shock.
He’s being ridiculous?
It's his fault?
These last few weeks, Alya has been borderline unbearable. Nino found himself having to resist calling Marinette and asking her for advice.
On one hand it was out of guilt on the other hand some part of Nino already knew what she would say. She would tell him to break up with Alya. The relationship was getting far too toxic. He turned on his phone and clicked on Alyas contact. Thinking out his Message he finally typed the message he's been wanting to send for the last few days
Nino: Hey, I just don’t think this is working. This relationship is bad for the both of us. Ask Lila for help instead. Goodbye Al

“Trust me Pixiepop Dick is the last person to ask for advice concerning school, Dickhead was smart, sure, but he also dropped out of college ” Jason explained to Marinette, who was mopping about school “He decided to enroll in the Police Academy instead, believe me Bruce was pretty pissed about that”
“B-ut it he quit to do something he actually likes, I doubt he actually wanted to be a businessman,” Marinette retorted. “speaking of which do you think he’s doing alright in Bludhaven?” She asked her voice laced with concern.
Jason knew for a fact that Dick wasn’t doing that great, he was pulling overtime as Officer Grayson and working the night as Nightwing, Bruce and Tim weren’t fairing that great either. The impending gang war was keeping most of the local vigilante community busy.
“I’m sure he’s fine pixie pop”
He was absolutely not fine.
Unbeknownst to them, Nightwing had walked right into an ambush inside a warehouse right next to Bludhaven Bay. With a few more hours of sleep Nightwing might’ve had a higher chance of winning , unfortunately he was running on 3 hours of sleep a night so he was getting quickly overwhelmed.
After one too many punches Nightwing finally put out a distress alert.
“Master Jason, You have a Call from Bludhaven Bay, Your friend there seems to be in need of your help”
“I’ll take it, Sorry Maribug seems like I have to head out right about now.” Jason he quickly answered. Fuck. Dick was in danger.
“Why?” Marinette asked puzzled, why not just take the call here? “Cause This dingwatt friend of mines only calls me if he’s in trouble or about to be”
“Can I come w-” Marinette was cut off by her phone chirping crap akuma.
“Actually you know what? Better not keep you” she said walking backwards towards the door “Stay safe Jay, see ya, toodles~”. She quickly exited and quickly walked towards her room.
“She's hiding something isn’t she Alfie?” Jason said after witnessing Marinette's strange departure
“It is blatantly obvious Master Jason, although I do believe she is permitted to do so seeing as how we all have our small secrets” Alfred said with a huff. His hopes for a normal grandchild have just been dashed. Maybe he will have better luck with great-children? Shaking his heads to clear his thought he and Jason quickly made their way towards the Batcaves entrance,
Jason stopped mid stride an odd feeling overcoming him “You feel that?” Jason asked feeling a rush of warmth
“Feel what Master Jason?”
“Nevermind let's go save Dickie-bird”
Welp I hoped you enjoyed today’s update :). Also I hope you guys have been taking care of yourselves. I know that it has been a bit different lately due to well everything. Please feel free to message me if you guys need to. Stay safe and healthy ❤️

So I Don’t Forget Again: A Breath of The Wild fanfiction
*My friend, much has happened. The doctors are keeping you on the sleep medicine to see if you can heal without eating, being able to heal slowly would be so helpful for you, they worry about you healing and trapping stones in yourself again, it shouldn’t happen because they are caring for you, but… It would be great to know should you retain injuries like this again. They say the medicine may make your memory fuzzy and I realized you were rushed off to get healed, you never got a chance to write, so I’ll do my best for you! I’ll wright down as much as I can so I don’t miss a single thing. I may not be able to capture your thoughts, but I can recall the moments we shared.
*It was a pleasant surprise to see Kass had come to visit the Domain once more. He spoke of his misadventures with you and Bossa Nova. I always love hearing these tales from him, they show just how much you do, how you’re always fighting on, seemingly without rest, it makes me feel you are nearby. Yet, his last tale, he spoke of how pale you were, how you were so distant, constantly getting lost in thought and how Bossa Nova kept bucking you to get your attention back. You just couldn’t concentrate long on the task he said. He also noted how you held your side stiffly. You’re footing was unsteady, you constantly swaying even when standing. He also told me how you slept for two weeks straight in the shrine. He knew he could not do much except try to find you help, so he came to me. He told me of your plan to come to Lanaru Tower and how you were to pass through Rutala River.
*I left with some fishermen who were going to do their work by Rutala River so I could go search for you.
*I’m so glad I did.
*I found you and Bossa Nova in a fight with some Yiga Clan members. Even with but a fishing spear and not a proper weapon, I believe I was of help, and we were able to drive them off. I was so relieved to see you both, I hugged you close, just so glad you were safe. I was not surprised to see that attack though, the Yiga had been camping by the waters, attacking any zora they see, I can only guess they wish for revenge against me for having a hand in their leader’s demise. Your expression, that horror, it’s etched into my mind and will not go. I assured you that we are all well, and simply sending a guard or two with any party fishing outside of the Domain is enough to protect them. We are all safe.
*I asked you to come sit by the shore with me to just talk for a while. I asked you if you were feeling well. You only said you were feeling very tired. I simply could not believe exhaustion was the only thing plaguing you, it had to be a sign of something bigger, you looked so sick. I realize zoras can withstand the cold better than Hylians, but surely it was not cold enough for you to shiver so violently, right?
*I’d never wish to push you into speaking, but I had to ask if that was all.
*You told me you were scared of yourself. You wondered if you were a monster like a Hinox or Lynel. If you were killed, if you’d turn to purple smoke. I answered sincerely, I don’t believe you’d turn to smoke. You asked me what I thought of them, if they were intelligent creatures like you and I. I think so, I know they can make buildings like us, they can fight like us, they seem to communicate in their own languages, I’ve even seen them horse around with one another before or playing a simple game of kick ball.
*You told me you think you’re a monster.
*You spoke of how the monsters relentlessly chase you, they never stop hunting you, they may be easy to beat, but they never give up, they fight to the death unlike the Yiga who on rarer occasion run. You told me you have that same drive as them, and that you’re weak like them, and you feared it so much. My heart broke hearing how your voice quiver and quaked, so quiet, so tired. You told me how you have this overwhelming need to keep going on this journey. This relentless pursuit you can’t let go of. Even when you feel awful, your thoughts go dark, you just keep going, no matter what. I know it’s not a mindless pursuit, it’s your courage. You keep going even when you're scared, you are so strong to make that choice every waking moment, so many in your place would have collapsed under the pressure of all this, of the Divine Beasts and the Calamity, so many would have been too scared to even consider facing all that you have, they would have run, but you keep choosing to do this no matter how hurt you are. That is your courage, choosing to do that even when you are scared. It’s like being a good person. Even a good person could think about not helping that stranger in need or to do bad things, but they still have the strength to choose to do so, and that’s what makes them good. You by far are the most courageous individual I have ever known… And that means something, to me at least, I knew my sister, Mipha, someone who’d race onto the battlefield to heal all who were injured no matter how dangerous, I believe you are even stronger than her, the strongest person I knew till you came into my life once more.
*You spoke of how weak you were, how you are unsure you’re strong enough to save us all. You told me that you don’t know what’s going to be different this time that will allow you to win your battle against the Calamity. You told me of how you feared that it’d simply take control over the Divine Beasts once more once you approach it. But things are different this time Link, the Princess is in the castle, even right now, holding back the Calamity so it shouldn’t do that, if it could, it likely would have done so by now. I told you if you weren’t strong enough to face the beast, you would not have been placed in the healing chamber that kept you asleep for a hundred years. If you weren’t strong enough, you would not have been placed there in order to beat it now. You asked why you fell in the first place. You said it was surely because you tried to fight it, and you failed, you couldn’t think of any other reason why you’d get so injured. You couldn’t remember why, but you couldn’t think of any other reason. I can think of one, and so I told it to you. You must have fallen when protecting someone, in your memories the princess was struggling with unlocking her power, I bet she only unlocked that power because of you. She must have seen how hard you were working to protect everyone, and when you fell, it ignited something within her allowing her to reach her power. I bet you inspired her; I at least know for certain you inspire me. She must be holding back the Calamity specifically for you, and she only can because of you. You are strong, but even the strongest person can’t handle the fate of the world on their own, no one can, and for a moment a hundred years ago, you did, but even as strong as you are, even you couldn’t handle it. But you are not on your own this time, so this time you can do it. This will work. I know this will work. I realize this may feel like I’m placing pressure on you and I apologize if I am, but I can not think of any other way to describe this.
*Link, you are a hero, a hero working with other heroes, and you all will succeed. You are not alone in this fight, even if you are from time to time in this journey. You are amazing, I know you are strong enough in so many ways to be able to do this.
*You told me you already failed in all those regards. Each and every last one, you had failed.
*You told me you killed Friend, and that you were just going to do so with everyone else. You told me you almost got Bossa Nova killed almost starving him, and asked what was going to stop you from killing everyone else, saying that if it indeed was courage and strength and not maddening pursuit and weakness none of that would matter if you got everyone killed before facing the Calamity. You told me that everyone in Hateno must be dead because of how the Yiga are pursuing my people to get revenge on me and how the villagers in Hateno have no one but you to protect them, but the Yiga are chasing you, so you’d only bring more danger if you left to check on them. You told me that if you went to Rito Village to save their Divine Beast, the Yiga would follow you and kill them all so there was no point in going, but you still find you need to go, that is the pursuit you fear, going anyway, despite knowing the danger you would be bringing. You were just going to get everyone killed, no matter where you went.
*It was like when you spoke of my sister. Your next words were just like that moment. Something within you just caved in and broke. You cried, begging me to not die, to not leave you. You told me you couldn’t take losing anyone else. I honestly did not know what I could do for you, other than hold you tightly and securely. I told you that no matter where I am my thoughts are always with you. Even if not physically, I am with you. I will never leave you.
*You fell asleep in my arms, so Bossa Nova and I took you to the Domain for a proper rest.
*You wouldn’t wake up. For so long. When you finally did, it seemed you had to fight yourself to do so. You needed to see a doctor, even though you can instantly heal by eating, clearly something was wrong.
*You have so many infections eating away at you, it likely spread from your arm to your shoulder, then your side. You told me you were going to be more careful with your arm, you said you’d take better care of yourself, yet this happened. It seems as though this was a long time coming, even before you gave your word, I believe it started back when you were chased by those guardians and your arm was crushed under ruble, that was when it started healing slower and always hurting, right? I would look, but it feels wrong to do so with you asleep, that’s even why I’m writing all this on separate pages. Your journal is your memory, I dare not tamper with it without your explicit permission. The doctors had found your flesh had grown around pebbles that were inside you, even getting attached to them with some connective tissue. When you first came here and were taken to the doctors, it seems your healing capability had already covered this up, so they didn’t find it last time. You also have so many infections they had a difficult time discerning one from another, there was even one they didn’t recognize, thankfully one of the Gerudo woman I had traveled with is a doctor and she decided to stay here a while and recognized what you had gotten, it was an infection she had seen many warriors get from battling with the Yiga, but your case was by far the worst she had ever seen, it must have been when that scythe was stabbed through you, keeping you pinned to the ground. It seems your healing ability more so quickly regenerates your flesh, trapping anything caught within its way, it’s likely how your infection was able to be within you without showing signs. With every battle you got hurt and ate, you healed some of the damage the infection had done, but you could not get rid of it, so it been able to so slowly build up. It was so slow you didn’t even notice how far the pain had spread; you body must have gotten so exhausted trying to fight it off constantly.
*And now here I am, sitting by your bedside, rattling my brain, playing these events over and over searching for even the smallest of details to add.
*The doctors fear missing a part of any of the infections should you heal quickly, they want to keep an eye on you to make sure they got everything. They also said your judgement on pain must be unreliable now, the only way you could have survived without getting help or any anesthetic sooner was for your tolerance for pain to increase, they explained it like going nose blind, smelling something so often you eventually don’t notice it getting so used to it, so feeling the same amount of pain in one place for so long, you likely wouldn’t notice if there was any new pain there so they have to keep an eye on you instead of you telling them what you feel.
*Bossa Nova has refused to get off the extra space of the bed.  On occasion he’ll lick your hand or use your legs as a pillow.
*Link, my dear friend, you are amazing to have gotten this far. I just hope you know that. You are extraordinary, the light of my life.
*I plea with any and all gods that you now finally have a restful sleep. You so deserve it and so much more.

I absolutely loved the gerudo story a lot! If you are still taking ideas/suggestions may you please continue on with wild telling them about the others? I liked medoh and the rito the most lol but any will be awesome I loved how happy wild and the others were while hearing the story of Riju and nabrois.. thanks 💚💜
Thank you for your kind words! I turned this into a series on my AO3 (queenofliterature) since it has gotten multiple requests. I hope you enjoy and your cosplay is super cool!
“Pleeeeeease!” Wind continued to beg Wild over dinner. It had been a couple of days since Wild told the story about his time with the Gerudo, and Wind was desperate for Wild to tell more, as he had made very clear. Since the first story, they had traveled to Twilight’s Hyrule, although no villages were close enough to get to tonight.
“Dear Hylia. Wild please tell him another story before he explodes.” Legend yelled from across camp.
“Wind, Wild doesn’t need to tell us anything else if he doesn’t want to.” Time lectured Wind, who was attached to Wild’s back, arms wrapped around him like a stationary piggyback ride. Wild didn’t find himself minding. Ever since he had returned Wind’s hug the first night he told a story, the kid had seemed comfortable with attaching himself to Wild like he would Hyrule and Warriors. It was surprising at first, but Wild got used to it, and kinda liked it.
“Um that’s okay. I can tell more stories. I just don’t want them to be boring or anything. There’s no more dressing as a woman and seducing people for items or sneaking into Yiga bases.” Wild joked although he was slightly nervous about his other stories not measuring up.
“But you still have three more divine beats to go right?” Sky voiced curiously.
“And your fight against Ganon!” Warriors called.
“And all your crazy ideas along the way!” Hyrule finished as the rest of the group laughed, Wild included.
“Okay, just let me pass out dinner.”
Once again, the group was all gathered around the campfire, eyes on Wild. Wild still found it intimidating, but it was far less scary this time.
“Well… I guess I could tell you about the Rito?” There were some questions and confused murmurs among the group, except Wind, who lit up at the mention of the birds who lived on Dragon Roost Island.
“You have Rito in your Hyrule too?” Wind questioned excitedly.
“Yeah I do. Do the rest of you not?” There were ripples of no’s throughout the camp.
“Oh, well they’re basically really big, talking birds? That might be an offensive way to describe them. They’re like Zora are to fish I guess.” Wild stated awkwardly. He didn’t really expect to have to explain what a Rito was.
“I can just show you!” Wild remembered he had a picture of Kass and his children on his slate. When they first saw the Sheikah Slate, all five of the girls had crowded around him and demanded to see it. When they saw the photo rune, they wanted him to take a picture of them and their mother and father. He told them he had no way to let them have a copy or anything, but they just wanted to be with him in his travels. It was a very sweet sentiment and Wild absolutely loved that picture.
“Oh wow, you weren’t kidding about them being giant birds.” Hyrule commented when Wild flipped his slate around for them to see.
“They look a bit different from the Rito from my Hyrule but that’s kinda been a common theme among all of us.” Wind noted.
“They’re very nice and welcoming people.” Wild confirmed as he put the slate back on his hip. “When I first got to the village, I had to walk up a whole bunch of bridges that just kept getting higher and higher. The Rito were really upset and worried, since the Divine Beast, Vah Medoh, was causing chaos and shooting anyone down that flew up too high.” Wild remembered the ear-piercing screech that greeted him when he first arrived. All of the Divine Beasts had a call, but none were quite like Medoh’s.
“Oh no that’s awful! The Rito love to fly! Was anyone hurt?” Wind questioned, genuinely concerned for the villagers.
“Unfortunately yes. Some men went up to try and defeat Medoh, but one got shot down and hurt his wing, his name is Harth. He’s alright now. The Rito that went with him, Teba, got him to safety and was planning to face Medoh once again. I spoke with the chief of the village, named Kaneli. He’s very kind, and he has a very deep and hearty laugh.” That was one thing about Wild the group had noticed. He always remembered odd or specific details of people. It may be connected to his loss of memory, but that was simply the person he was. He wanted to get to know as many people as he could and help them when needed.
“So do any of the leaders know that you’re the hero from 100 years earlier?” Four questioned. He really hoped he wasn’t crossing a line by asking, he was just truly curious.
“It kinda depends. The Zora live to be centuries old, so most of them knew me, well… the old me.” Wild stated uncertainly. The rest of camp knew Wild’s struggles with his past self, almost seeing him as a different person than the one they knew now. They were slightly curious about what Wild was like before. They would never trade Wild for anything, but it would be interesting to see how much he had changed. Twilight, who was sitting on Wild’s left, put a gentle hand on his shoulder, while Legend scooted a little closer on Wild’s right, almost unnoticeable to everyone but Wild.
“The Gorons didn’t care all that much, just as long as I could board Rudania. Riju knew that I was friends with Urbosa, or that she at least sent me. And the Rito thought I was the champion’s descendant.” Some snickers left the group at that.
“Hey, I tried to tell him it was really me, but I didn’t have the Master Sword yet. Even then, I’m not sure if he would have believed I was the actual champion, but he was worried for his people. He asked me to help them with the Divine Beast since I was the only one who could board it.”
“Why are you the only one who can board it?” Warriors asked.
“Well, I don’t have a solid answer for you, but it’s because I’m the Hylian Champion.” Wild answered. There wasn’t a scientific answer he could really give, that’s all he really knew.
“Wait, since you’re a champion, do you have a Divine Beast too?” Hyrule exclaimed, eyes shining with anticipation and mischief. Oh Hylia, if WIld had one of those things and he and Hyrule teamed up... Please say no, please say no, please say-
“Well, sorta.” Wild rubbed the back of his neck as gasps (and some groans) arose around him. “It’s very small, smaller than a horse. But it has two wheels and it’s faster than anything I’ve ever ridden. It’s loud though and has to be powered by materials. I’ll show you when we get back to my Hyrule, I’ve tried summoning it here and it doesn’t work.” Wild wished he had a picture of it, but he would show them the real thing soon.
“That sounds amazing!” Surprisingly Hyrule didn’t yell this, but Legend did. He blushed, realizing how loud it was. The rest of the group chuckled. Legend could pretend to be snarky and cool all he wanted, he was such a nerd for new items.
“It really is. I can run over so many monsters, and jump off so many cliffs without getting hurt! And it goes over pretty much any terrain! I just have to be careful not to fall backward down a hill or something. But that doesn’t happen often and-” Wild rambled on, oblivious to the look of horror on Twilight’s face.
“Um, Cub. We love hearing about your Hyrule but… I think you’re going to give Twilight a heart attack.” Time teased, looking at his protege’s face.
“Hehe. Whoops.” Wild laughed, the rest of the heroes joining in, except for Twilight of course who simply glared at his mentor.
“Anyway.” Wild continued, still giggling a little. “The elder sent me to Teba’s wife and child, who begged me to go to the Flight Range and stop him. She said that I could just jump off the Revali’s Landing, a platform named after the Rito Champion from a hundred years ago.”
“Did you remember him at this point?” Sky questioned reluctantly. Like Four, he was nervous about crossing a line.
“I actually remembered him when I looked at the landing.” Wild’s eyes grew slightly distant. “Revali was a complete and utter asshole.” There were surprised huffs of laughter from around the group. That certainly wasn’t what they were expecting. “But… I understood why.” Wild stared into the fire. “He was hurting I think. I got to read his journal and he worked really hard to develop Revali’s Gale, the wind I use now. He worked to become the best archer and protect his village. And then, some random Hylian kid comes and takes the Master Sword and becomes the princess’ appointed knight. He always taunted me, kinda telling me that I was only getting to fight Ganon because of the sword, while he had to sit in his Divine Beast. But I got the sword when I was twelve, and my training started long before that from what I can remember. And I don’t - I don’t think I ever wanted that.” Wild’s breathing hitched the tiniest bit. Not enough to be noticed by anyone who didn’t know him, but this group knew him well.
Twilight instantly pulled him into a hug, and Wild didn’t fight it. He didn’t cry or feel a huge panic coming on, but the hug felt nice all the same.
“It sucks that Revali went through that Wild.” Warriors stated, smiling at the teen gently. “But that is not your fault. You didn’t choose the sword, the sword chose you.” Wild nodded from where his head was on Twilight’s shoulder, before pulling himself away gently. Meanwhile, Time cursed Hylia in his mind, again. Twelve… He understood there was a fight coming, he really did, but this boy was only twelve. No, he was younger when he was forced into training. Wild mentioned to Time when talking about Mipha that he traveled there with knights as a child. He was a child. He still was a child… Time pulled himself out of his own head. There was no changing Wild’s past. That was over one hundred years ago. They could help him now.
“I’m sorry, Wild.” Wind sighed out. “I didn’t mean to bring out bad memories.”
“You didn’t, bud.” Wild reassured. “Sometimes memories just come into my head, even if I’ve seen them before. I wouldn’t tell you if I didn’t trust you.” That halted the camp entirely. Wild had made a lot of progress in trusting them, but they were happy to hear him say it. Before they could dwell too much on what Wild said, he continued his story.
“So anyway, I talked to Harth, the Rito that broke his wing, and a couple of other Rito. Including the girls you all saw in the picture. They’re Kass’ daughters!” Wild stated excitedly. He told them previously about Kass and how much he adored hearing his songs. Wind once asked Wild to sing one, but he blushed a bright red and furiously refused. Wind bet Wild had a pretty voice and he was just embarrassed about it…
“Their mother was worried sick for her children, along with the other parents in the village, and the children were all disappointed they couldn’t fly and play. Well one didn’t want to go to singing practice, but I still had to get the Divine Beast under control as fast as possible. So I bought the Snowquill Set that keeps you really toasty and rushed to the Flight Range to help Teba. When I got there, Teba said he didn’t need any help but I insisted. So he told me that he would challenge my archery skills.” The group leaned in, what sort of test? “He made me shoot five targets in three minutes with my paraglider.” Wild stated in a deadpan voice. The boys froze, then burst out laughing. Wild could shoot three arrows at once, sometimes five with the proper bow! Five targets in three minutes were nothing! Wild chuckled along with the group. He wasn’t arrogant with his archery, but five targets in three minutes was a little too easy. He expected Teba to continue challenging him, but he never did.
“So he gave me some bomb arrows and told me to jump on his back, we were gonna go defeat the Divine Beast.” Wild continued.
“Woah wait, already? Didn’t the other Divine Beasts take you a little time to get too?” Warriors questioned.
“Well Naboris took a little more time since the Yiga clan were causing trouble, but there was nothing else I could do to prepare.” Wild shrugged. “So we flew up into the clouds, Vah Medoh was huge up close! It had a giant courtyard type structure on its back! And it could shoot lasers and had a shield around it! So while Teba distracted it, I used the updrafts to shoot at all four points the shield was powered by. Unfortunately, Teba got grazed by the lasers. He was okay, but he had to land. So I started the puzzles in Vah Medoh. They were so fun! There was one where I had to get in this ride on a track and tilt the beast so I got to ride to the other side! And I was so high up!” Wild continued rambling on about the puzzles he had to solve.
The other boys in the group smiled softly. One of the reasons they enjoyed Wild telling stories was because of how excited he would get while telling the parts that didn't haunt him. The others sometimes struggle with Wild’s Hyrule because of the ruins of the structures they know, but Wild truly loved it, which made sense, it was just like the hero who came from it, wild and untamed.
“So finally all the puzzles were done and all the terminals were unlocked, and the main control unit was unlocked. Like the others, when I put my slate up the control unit, a Ganon Blight came out. This time it was Windblight Ganon. He was easier than the others, but still hard. He could summon tornados! And I had to rely on arrows a lot since he flew out where I couldn’t reach him. But eventually, I got his health down enough for the final blow. When I activated the main control unit, Revali appeared.” Wild smile became bittersweet like it did when he talked about any of his friends from one hundred years ago. “He teased me again, but this time, it seemed more friendly and less bitter. He gave me Revali’s Gale so I wouldn’t always have to rely on cliffs and high places for my paraglider. I went back to see Harth and Teba, and they and their families were fine! The elder thanked me a lot and gave me Revali’s old bow. It’s in my house with the rest of the champion’s items. I used them against Ganon. A little bit to avenge the other champions. You know?” Wild looked to find them all staring at him. “Uh… The end?” Wild ended awkwardly, not knowing what else to say. The rest of the group seemed to snap out of it. Wild was amazing. And highly intelligent. His stories of battles and puzzles and shrines only proved that. Once again, just like when he ended the first story, Wind crashed into Wild and knocked the breath out of his lungs.
“You’re a great storyteller Wild!” Wind cried happily.
“The sailor’s right, Cub.” Twilight smirked, but the kind look in his eyes betrayed his teasing lilt.
“Well, that was a perfect little bedtime story.” Legend yawned and clapped Wild on the back.
“Legend is right, it’s getting a little late. Warriors, you have first watch right.”
“Yeah, yeah. I know Old Man.” Warriors huffed but smiled and ruffled Wild’s hair as he passed, earning a lot of protests to which Warriors just laughed at.
The rest of the group thanked Wild for the story and headed to their bedrolls. The Links were happy that Wild was talking more, and didn't want to make a huge deal out of it and scare him into science once again. But they also wanted him to know they appreciate him trusting them enough to tell them of his trials.
After making sure no one needed his help with anything, Wild collapsed into his bedroll. He enjoyed telling the others his stories, but he still wasn’t used to talking for long amounts of time.
A couple of minutes later, Twilight, who was preparing his own bedroll, realized he hadn’t heard Wild shuffling about like he normally did. He turned around to ask if he was okay, only to see him completely conked out on top of the blankets, apparently tired from talking so much in one night. He snorted softly at the smaller teen, before slowly going over and tucking him in. If Wild wasn’t completely passed out, he would have denied what he called being treated like a child, but there wasn’t a single protest as Twilight lifted Wild slightly and put him under the covers, tucking them around him. There was only a small sound that Twilight absolutely would not admit not to find adorable, as Wild snuggled into the blankets covering him. Time hummed slightly, making Twilight turn around.
“He was too young.” Time said solemnly, referring to what Wild told them earlier that night. Twilight had similar thoughts. Wild had told him after a memory that he was only twelve when he got the Master Sword. Twilight knew he was too young. A lot of the group was.
“Yeah… But he has us now.” Twilight smiled at Time, who looked at his pup with pride in his eyes. Those who weren’t asleep or didn’t have the first watch were soon wrapped in their bedrolls peacefully, the only sound being crickets chirping around them.

New (Part 2/3)
Part 2 even though they all kind of stand on their own.
Part 1: https://fatefulfaerie.tumblr.com/post/621364335842820096/new-part-13
“Purah, do you mind?” Link inquired with a gesture of his head and a smile.
“Um...Link…” Zelda warned.
“Oh,” Purah said before she could. “S-sure.”
Zelda handed her the slate hesitantly.
“How about we make it like the picture,” Sidon suggested. “Yunobo in the back, Teba and Riju on the left of the Hylians and then me right here.”
Before Zelda could object, they were already in their places.
It was like no time passed at all. Here she was surrounded by people she was uncertain of, closed off from. She knew, like she did a hundred years prior, that she wanted to bridge the gap, but she didn’t know how. The potential friendships around her were so new.
And next to her, right next to her was Link. The mere inches between them made her heart leap with an anticipation she couldn’t identify a hundred years prior.
She supposed, in that respect, things had changed. She knew now that she loved him, that at any given moment she wanted to leap into his arms and tell him how much she loved him.
But this was new. He was new. The memory loss made everything new for him and she feared that her one-hundred-year undying love would be too old for him, too scary, too much and not enough all at once.
So she stood with a soft smile, bigger, more genuine than a century ago, but not betraying her elegance. She could only wonder, in this slowed moment, if Link was smiling too, if Yunobo would suddenly smash them all together, if this time she would stay in Link’s arms when he instinctively caught her. Not push him away and try to forget it happened, but to stay in the new moment, reveling in what would happen next…
She shook herself out of that train of thought, taking in a deep breath and reassembling her soft smile, her hands clasped low in front of her.
“Good,” Purah said. “Get ready for a click snap on three! One...two…”
Purah didn’t continue, the slate shaking in her hands before she dropped it. She stared with panting breaths at it on the ground, everyone in a state of alarm, concern, and uncertainty until Zelda rushed forward.
“Purah,” she said with a hand on her shoulder.
“What? What is it?” Link asked, cautiously stepping forward.
Zelda turned her head to Link.
“She took the original picture.”
“Oh, I...I didn’t know,” Link said. “I...I didn’t mean to...w-we don’t have to...”
“I saw them,” Purah said, despondent, her hands shaking.
Link bowed his head as Zelda ran her hand gently up and down Purah’s shoulder.
“I know,” Zelda said, a deep sadness in her voice. “I see them too.”
Purah shook her head. Zelda’s expression melted as she studied the girl. Everything about her except for the age and burden in her eyes was youth. No accident but death could erase that burden.
“Symin,” she said, the man’s expression perking from its prior sadness. “Please, the Princess’ request...take their picture. It’s hard for me to let go of the past, but they have a chance to indulge and celebrate the future...please.”
Purah was still so shaken up, Symin smiling as he knelt down in front of her.
“It would be my honor,” Symin said with a hand on her shoulder, Purah handing him the slate.
His hands were steady as he stood up and aimed the slate.
Link’s eyes darted from the readied slate to Zelda leading Purah to sit next to Kass, back and forth.
“Link, what happened to that smile?” Symin asked.
“Zelda?”
“Coming,” she said before rushing to return to his side.
Soft smile, arms in front, deep breath.
SNAP
One normal picture was done and it seemed Symin was aiming for another.
Suddenly she felt Link’s arm around her shoulders, pulling her to his side. Zelda felt herself smile bigger, and from no force at all.
SNAP
His grip still held her tight. Zelda looked to her left to meet his eyes. Blue, soft, locked into hers, she forgot where she was.
SNAP
But she didn’t hear that one, nor did her ears pay attention to Symin’s,
“Just one more.”
It happened quickly.
Zelda felt someone suddenly push her, so fast she couldn’t help her lips landing exactly where Riju wanted them to.
SNAP
Zelda pushed herself away with heavy breaths, frozen on Link’s wide eyes.
If the Princess ever doubted that Riju was Urbosa’s descendant, this was proof right here. Urbosa, if a little more impulsive and a little less refined very well may have attempted to push Zelda into Link a hundred years ago if given the chance.
The current Gerudo chieftain, however, was now covering her mouth trying not to laugh.
“Really?” Teba said with a disapproving glare at the young Gerudo.
It was, apparently, too hilarious for her to even respond to the retort.
“Wait, what happened Goro?” Yunobo said, looking between all of them.
“Riju pushed Zelda into Link so they would just get it over with and kiss. The child is clearly amused and now dinner will likely burn because these two have forgotten how to speak.”
“I…” Link tried.
“Case in point,” Teba said.
They all kept watching to see what would happen next, backing away slightly.
“I don’t get it,” Yunobo said. “What’s the big deal about them kissing?”
“I...I didn’t…” Link tried again.
“N-no, that...it w-wasn’t,” Zelda finally got out.
“I’m not explaining it to you,” Teba said to Yunobo.
“Do you guys want me to delete that one?”
“Aw,” Riju said with a distinct pout. “But that ruins the fun.”
Link and Zelda’s focus on one another finally broke when Link did a double take that landed on Symin.
“I’m sorry, what?”
Symin was looking down at the slate, flipping through the pictures.
“Yeah, it’s right here.”
“Yes, of course delete it,” Link said with a furrowed brow, Symin looking up. “It’s disrespectful to the Princess.”
Zelda felt her heart sink. An inner bubbling rose within her, threatening to start a war where she’d have to fend off tears. She bowed her head.
“Unless,” she said quietly, instantly regretting it.
What was she doing? Why would she say that?
Link turned to her with parted lips.
“Unless what?”
The word was said now, there was no going back. No matter what it would eat at both of them more than it ever had before, to have come so close and not said anything, to disregard the truth.
“Unless you want a do over,” Zelda suggested quietly.
“Zelda, what are you saying?” He asked with a cautious step forward.
“I think you know what I’m saying,” Zelda said as she finally looked up, summoning her bravery. “I think you know about me and what I feel. I think you’ve had every opportunity to find out, from Impa, from Kass...to come to terms with it on your own and that’s great. But I’m so tired of the ambiguity, Link, I...I can’t keep guessing how you feel, it...it hurts so much.”
“Are you happy now?” Teba asked, leaning over to Riju.
Riju now had both hands on her mouth, nodding excitedly at Teba’s inquiry.
Zelda closed her eyes with an exhale, shaking her head back to its downward gaze. She tried to forget how shocked Link looked.
“I shouldn’t have said that,” Zelda said timidly. “Your memory is still fragile...I have no right to complain about ambiguity after what you’ve been through. I apologize.”
“Besides,” she continued. “We have company. They came for dinner, not a show.”
Link nodded silently.
“I mean we’ll take both,” Teba said under his breath, Riju looking at him in surprise.
Link approached Symin, taking the slate back as he tried to continue the pause in that particular conversation that still weighed on him, pressed upon him.
The slate was in gallery mode, Link able to see smaller versions of many pictures. His eyes grazed along random pictures of blood moons or weaponry until he saw the four pictures at the end of the last row, unmistakable by the orange coloration of the sunset behind them.
“Dinner will be ready soon,” Link said, clipping the Slate to his belt. “We should head inside.”

Baesidas
(NSFW)
“What say you, Kassandra?” Kali crossed her arms and jut her chin at the map. Kassandra was about to respond just as a knock came from behind them. Both women traded a look before Kassandra called that the person may enter, and she grinned when she saw who it was. Kali could tell by the toothy expression who it was, and she fought a smile. They were in the middle of a meeting! Now was not the time for blushing and kissing.
Looking over her shoulder, Kali nodded at Brasidas. He was standing with a stern expression, his hands clasped behind him, and when he saw her face, he smiled. Kali mirrored the look and they’d forgotten their company until it cleared its throat. “Brasidas! How good to see you!” Kassandra opened her arms and Brasidas walked into the hug. The two Spartans grinned at one another and Kassandra clapped his back. “Stealing my woman already?”
“I share many things with you, Kassandra,” Brasidas rolled his eyes, his grin growing as he teased, “but I draw the line there.”
“All I’m saying,” Kassandra winked at Kali, “is the moment you’ve let your guard down, I’m coming in to sweep her off her feet.”
Kali’s eyes were only on Brasidas, the two sharing sweet smiles as Kassandra released him and he went to her. Gently, their fingers found each other and Brasidas stared down at her. Sweetly and lowly, so much so that his lips hardly moved, he said, “The moment she doesn’t want me anymore, I’ll be gone.”
“Hmm.” Kali hummed, “That day will never come.”
“Then all I’m the more blessed for it. Apologies for interrupting your meeting.” He said, looking between Kali and Kassandra.
“Think nothing of it.” Kassandra assured him, “The meeting was at it’s natural end. Am I correct to think you two shall be on your way?”
“Yea,” Kali leaned against Brasidas, feeling him tense against the affection. He was always so shy about being sweet in front of others, especially his friends and fellow warriors. Kali pat his stomach, “We’re off to eat and would love to have you.”
“Would if I could, my friends.” Kassandra clasped Kali’s right forearm and then Brasidas’s. “I’ve got a few missions to run here. Will I see you this evening?”
Brasidas was already shaking his head, and Kali looked up with a risen brow, to which he grinned. “I’m not ruining the surprise.”
“Have a good evening.” Kassandra pointed to Brasidas and attempted a stern face. “You’d better take care of her Brasidas, or I’m going to have a few words with you.”
“She’s safe with me.” Brasidas placed his fist over his heart. “You have my word.”
“See you tomorrow, Kass.” Kali waved, and they were off. As they walked off, Kali was surprised they were heading off the ship. The sun was high in its arch, setting the waves lapping against the Adrestria ablaze. The deep blue capped with blinding tips. Crew aboard waved them as they headed off and called to one another from above. Gulls hovered and called above them.
“Where are we going?” Kali asked as they stepped on the dock and headed into the village. Brasidas was terrible at keeping secrets, so he clamped his mouth and shook his head. “Seriously?” Though her voice was a whine, her pout was artificial. Leaning her head against his bicep as they strolled, Kali enjoyed his warmth.
Brasidas was like the sun. From the moment she’d met him, she’d always thought so. Being a friend of Kassandra’s for so long, Kali had met many characters, been on countless adventures, and fought endless trouble for her friend. Meeting Brasidas was refreshing. They’d returned from battle when they found him lingering around the Adrestria. Kali tensed for another battle, and flinched when Kassandra let out a yell and ran to hug the man. When they were introduced, Brasidas was not intimidated by Kali’s firm handshake or intense gaze, and he spoke to her with respect and awe.
This stood out in her mind as men hardly treated her like a lady without wanting anything in return, so she kept her eye on him. Besides, he was cute. She would say this was the beginning of when she fell for him, and Brasidas would say that the moment he saw her, battle worn and blood covered, he was smitten. She could’ve told him to leap into the sea and he would’ve.
The village came alive as they went deeper in, and still Kali could not figure out his plan. He led them towards the other side of the village and towards an inn. Suspicions were growing, but she kept her mouth shut.
And when he opened the door, it dropped.
Bunches of flowers decorated the room and petals were laid on the bed. A bottle of wine and meal was ready on the table, and there were pillows thrown on the carpet in front of a fireplace.
Tears hopped in her eyes and she was aware Brasidas kept her hand as he closed the door, and then he waited patiently, studying her face. It was the anniversary of the day they decided to pursue one another!
“Is it ok?” His voice was low and there was a slight tremor in it. Brasidas nervously played with their hands. Kali turned to face him, and she kissed him deeply. She threw her arms around his neck and his hands went to her waist. Surprised, Brasidas broke the kiss, breathlessly, and tried to catch her eye. They were shimmering and light. “So, you like it?”
“I love it! I love you.” She responded, melting under his eyes, and admiring the light that seemed to come from his very soul. Fingers tangling in his hair, she kissed him again and walked backwards until they hit the bed and she turned him around. So, this was what he had been up to all morning! Pushing him gently to the ground, she purred, “Let me show you how much I love you.”
Brasidas’s face went aflame and he chuckled, “I’m happy you like it.” As she crawled atop him, his hands went to her hips and his fingers traced up her sides. He drank her in, then sat up so their lips met with a clash.
Fire burned from her heart to her womanhood. This fire dripped from her just as she felt his cock harden. Grinding against it to satisfy the heat of need, she was rewarded with his moan. Eyes flashing open, Brasidas wrapped his arms around her and pressed against her as he kissed her neck and chest before finding her mouth again.
He loved leaving marks. They were never where anyone could see them, and that was the fun. She was marked as his and in public he could make out exactly where. It was their secret against the world.
Kali continued grinding against him, feeling him grow hard and herself getting wetter. “Brasidas,” she kissed his neck, causing him to freeze. His eyes rolled back as she nipped and kissed his neck on her way to his ear. “Please, I need you.” A whimper escaped the back of his throat.
Brasidas obeyed. Holding her against him, he flipped her over and lowered her gently to the bed as he got to the floor on his knees. Grabbing her hips, he pulled her to him and began kissing the inside of her thighs. Admiring him in this position, she tangled her fingers in his hair, and she was lost in his eyes. Maintaining eye contact, Brasidas kissed her and tasted her. Kali bucked instantly, and he held her hips down to keep her where he wanted her. Then Brasidas did what he did best, he worked.
Eating her out completely, Brasidas buried his mouth into her wet folds, licking, sucking, and kissing without stop. Kali grabbed his head and pushed him to her. The fire inside her bloomed and she felt her pussy aching. Reading her need, Brasidas inserted two fingers into her and tongued her clit. A mourn escaped her and Brasidas chuckled. “What’s this, my goddess? Already ready for me?” Before she could answer, he curved his fingers and began licking her again so that her answer turned into panting and begging.
“Brasi-Brasidas. Please. I-I need you inside me.” Her hands feebly pushed his away, but her fingers wound around his and he pulled her to him.
“Not so fast,” he growled, “You’ll get what you’re begging for, soon. Now,” Brasidas slowed his fingers and focused on her clit, “Cum for me.” He kissed her hips and pushed himself deeper. “I know that face, and you’re close. Sit up for me.” It was difficult, but they managed. Supporting her back with one hand, Brasidas curved his fingers and again pick up the pace as he sucked on her clit. Grabbing his hair, Kali ground her cunt into his face as she came. Her face frozen with pleasure.
Breathless, she flopped down and Brasidas chuckled again. Softly kissing her throbbing clit and making her twitch, he kissed his way up until he found her lips. His cock was hard against her, and her hand found it. Stroking it, her spread the precum on its tip and made him gasp. Then, she opened her legs and rubbed him against her. “My body aches for you.” She pressed against him, and Brasidas adjusted himself so they were comfortable. “God, my legs are trembling.”
His lips brushed against hers. “My body is yours to use as you desire, what would you have me do?”
“Me.” She grinned, and he took a nipple in his mouth. Shivering with lust, she stroked him against her, enjoying the feel of him against her clit. When she felt she would cum, Brasidas pushed into her and she did. He held open her knees and brought them to her sides, fucking her gently and deeply. Enjoying the feel of her walls seizing against him, while his mouth was busy marking her chest with bites and bruises. Brasidas fucked her until she was panting, biting her nipples until they were hard and then licking and sucking them until she felt she could feel nothing better than how she was feeling right now. Suddenly, she pat his shoulder and he stopped. Concern washed away the lust, and Brasidas stopped and helped her sit up. Keeping him inside her, she wrapped her arms around him and nodded to the pillows. “Lay down.”
Kissing him again, Brasidas did as ordered and lay down. She took no time straddling him and stroking him before he was inside her once again. Riding him was her favorite thing to do. For one, it felt amazing have him hit all the right spots, but also, his face was delicious. Lust darkened his eyes and his lips were parted, and he was lost, mesmerized, in the feel of her, the sight of her, or her.
At first, she went slowly. Rising to the tip and then settling all the way to the bottom of him so that a growl escaped his throat. He wouldn’t try anything without her permission, so Brasidas suffered in silence. “Please.” His throat was dry and his tongue darted out to wet his lips. She rolled her hips to silence him and then began to fuck him. Riding his cock hard and fast, she felt herself reaching her climax. This was seconded by Brasidas who’d risen his hips to meet her stride for stride. Sweat on his brow, Brasidas mourned, “By the gods, my body is yours to use. Use me, please. I’m yours to command.”
Hearing those words brought her to the edge, and her hand went to his throat. Brasidas’s jaw dropped and they movements synchronized. “Cum for me.” She ordered, “Fill me up!” As she spoke the words, she came hard. Hand tightening against his throat, Brasidas called her name and came deep within her. Slowly, they both finished their climax and Kali rolled off him and to his side.
Here, she giggled and held him close. Both panting, Brasidas kissed her once more. Throwing one arm around her, Brasidas’s fingers tracing her bicep. Kali laid on his chest and listened to his hammering heart. “My goddess,” he licked his lips and eyed the jug of wine at the table. “You’re going to end me.”
“Hey, you had more than me.” She retorted, kissing and nuzzling his cheek. “I’m lucky my legs can still support me.”
“That’s just how it should be.” Brasidas grinned down on her. “You should always be more satisfied that I. Though it would be interesting to see what you would try to do to catch up.” Brasidas was teasing, but Kali liked that idea.
“That’s not a bad way to spend the evening.”
“My body is yours to do what you will.” Brasidas kissed her forehead just as his stomach rumbled.
Kali pat his stomach. “Maybe after dinner.”
“Consider this more energy for what I’m going to do to you later.”
             “I look forward to it.”

No one tells you where you went wrong || Aurora & Kass
What: Two people who never thought they’d see one another again -- meet up by accident and drama and pain come from it.  Where: Icaria Airport When:  March 10, 2021 Who: Aurora, Kass @kassmeifyoucan TW: Abuse, death
Why the fuck was it this cold in Greece? She had checked her phone, it was barely warmer here than it was in Portland. Despite the grumpiness she felt, the woman continued her jog towards the airport. She was in such a good mood, hell, she didn't even care to cover up the mostly faded bruises from that stupid fight. Music pumped loudly in her ears as curly brunette hair swung back and forth in the ponytail she'd set it up in, making sure she didn't run into anyone along the way. Sure, this made her ribs ache and yeah, Zoey would probably scold her later but it was worth it. Everything just seemed worth it, now. Kassandra had even gone so far as to look up the local therapists and see who would be a good fit for her to talk to. She hadn't even felt the need, or desire, to write in her journal to her father. Not like he was actually paying any attention. Maybe this would be her chance to see if he actually did care for what she was doing here. Or maybe it would show her that another parental figure didn't give a shit. As she jogged to a stop in front of the airport, Kass stretched before looking down at her attire. Running shoes, black athletic tights, and a sports bra? Oh yeah, she definitely had to stop by Zoey's before she headed back to the Inn. With a smirk she moved into the airport. It didn't take long, talking to a representative about canceling her return trip back to Portland was actually rather easy to cancel. Feeling even better than she had before, she thanked the man before getting ready to head out the doors to get back to her jog. That was, until she ran into something very solid.
"Oh Gods, I'm so..." Kassandra started to say as she reached down for her phone that had fallen out of her hand, at least it had been what she'd started to do until she realized who was standing in front of her. "Sorry..." The last word was whispered as her mouth went dry, stomach doing flips as she stared into eyes that she never thought she'd see ever again. Dread instantly filled her entire being as she stood to her full height, a chill sweeping over her as she came face to face with her ex girlfriend. "Rory?"
—
Aurora had just spent the past 17 hours between a plane and airports.... Dear gods she could not spend another second in a sardine can without wanting to rip her own hair out. It was 17 hours of crying children, whiny passengers, stuffy air and not as much entertainment.  It was 17 hours of people complaining about their legs being stiff, about the air being dry and running out of things to watch. Aurora had spent most of the time either sleeping, mediating or looking over casework so she hadn't quite realized all the issues until the last three hours -- when people's complaints became more loud and annoying.
She had spent ages now getting used to long fights, low entertainment value and tight spaces. Running a hand through her hair she slowly made her way off the plane after most of it was emptied and into a bathroom. Fifteen minutes was spent touching up her appearance and just stretching her body out before she strolled out of the room and towards the luggage pickup. She had narrowed down Jane's location to three places. The American government had bought her an apartment to stuff her things in while she found the woman and that was her first heading. Dump her stuff -- then find the girl.  What she hadn't been expecting was to run directly into a physical human. A small oof escaped pink plump lips as Kassandra slammed into her chest. A warmth, a strange misplaced feeling fleeted in and out of her mind as quickly as it came. She bent down to pick up her passport which had slipped from her fingers at the impact, when she heard the familiar voice. "Kass....." she said as her eyes rolled up the woman's frame and to such a familiar face that without the years of training might have brought tears and pain to her eyes and face
—
No. No, this wasn't real. This wasn't happening. Her ghosts were not coming back to haunt her on an isle that felt like a million miles away from the only place she'd ever called home. "You're not... No. You're not here. This isn't..." Kassandra took a step back, suddenly feeling sick. Or like she couldn't get air. Yeah, that one. Definitely that one. Blinking rapidly, she stumbled backwards until her back hit a wall. Everything began to blur as she felt her chest rise and fall too quickly. Before she could even realize what was truly happening, flashes filled her vision. For the first time in her life, they weren't visions of the future but flashes of her past. Grass stains on jeans as green eyes met light brown. Tears staining cheekbones as she cupped that gorgeous face in her hands. Children giggling as they pulled back from a kiss as innocent as they were. Teens gasping as they pulled away from the other, realization sinking in at how much they felt.
Kassandra stumbled outside, grabbing onto a nearby bench as she gasped for air. The panic in her lungs made them feel like they were on fire. Why was she here? Icaria wasn't allowing humans here so why the hell was her ex girlfriend here? Part of her wanted to ask but the other part wanted to run far, far away. "I'm seeing ghosts. This has to be some kind of... Trick." Had her father done this? Was this some kind of elaborate ruse to control her? To make sure she didn't stop siphoning him intel? "She's not here. She's not really--" Another gasp tore through her as her vision blurred once more, more flashes coming through. Climbing through a window after a car was safely down the road to turn out of sight. Heated kisses trailing down skin as a back was pressed up against a nearby bedroom wall. A playground and a duffel bag. "We’re in love. You told me that you… That you loved me.". Green eyes opened, head cloudy as she stared up at the sky to try and get her bearings.
—
Seeing her ex, her childhood crush, best friend and confidant go through what almost appeared to be panic made Aurora's heart and stomach churn. She clenched her jaw just slightly, forcing herself to stop from moving forward, to stop herself from reaching out for Kass's hand to tell her it was okay. She knew she didn't have the right to do so. But damn was it hard to stop herself. "Kass... breathe." She said as the woman moved away till her back hit the wall. She placed her own hand on her chest "Deep in -- slow out." She said just barely above a whisper.
She dragged her bag behind her, its wheels bouncing along the breaks in the sidewalk as she followed Kass outside. Aurora didn't want to overwhelm her -- but she did want to make sure she was okay. "Kass -- Kass please -- deep breath." She continued. Her brow furrowed as a frown formed upon her lips. "I --" She caught herself her own mind racing just as much as Kass's was -- how the hell her ex was here? She didn't know, didn't understand but she could assume. She could make the connections and GODS did she hate herself more for it. "Please Kass--" she said a hand out as if reaching for the familiar fame, wanting to caress and pull her close but hesitating before she could touch. "I'm not some sort of illusion"
—
Kassandra heard that voice again, heard her voice again and it was like she was sixteen years old all over; like she was standing in that playground as the girl she'd fallen in love with ripped her heart from her chest and stomped onto it repeatedly. Slowly her breathing began to calm down and the panic began to leave her body. Unfortunately for the both of them, a calm rage replaced it. Green eyes darkened, snapping to Aurora as she stood up and ignored the way her hands shook by her sides. "So you're actually here." Her voice came out cold, calm. As if the small breakdown she'd just had, never happened. Her jaw moved back and forth for a moment, arms coming to cross in front of her chest. "Why are you here, Aurora? You shouldn't be able to... Did my father do this?" Kassandra took that moment to round on the other woman, eyeing the bag that Aurora had with her. Their faces were inches apart and it almost made her die a little inside because she could--Gods, how did she still smell the same? This was not fucking happening. " Did he send you?"
Sucking in her bottom lip her brow knitted together as she saw Kassandra's body language change from panic to -- something else entirely. Something some part of her brain recognized and instantly recoiled from. She felt adrenaline flood her 5'7" frame as her breath caught in her throat. Her hands squeezed tight causing her knuckles to whiten. The look in Kassandra's eyes and the tone of her voice didn't scare her like it might have once but it still caused her heart rate to spike momentarily. "I am?" she said with a bit of a tense questioning tone. "Shouldn't be able to what?" she asked blinking as her head tilted to one side. Her hand was starting to sweat from the tension that could be cut like a knife. The smell of old spice mixed with her own orange cinnamon lotion and caused a momentary flash of a memory to pierce Aurora's mind. High school gym class, Kass putting on her old spice deodorant as  Aurora carefully and quickly covered up a bruise on her side after a shower. Kass' smile as she closed her locker and snuck a peek at Aurora in her underwear. She sucked in a sharp breath shoving the memory off to the side, now was no time to think of that. "Did who send me? I came here because of work" she added a moment later.
That familiar scent of cinnamon and orange infiltrated her senses like a fucking ninja and Kass was transported back to yester-year. Not like the flashes she'd had previously, no, those were something much more tangible. This was just a fond recollection. Until it wasn't. Because anything to do with Aurora always ended in pain. There was no happy ending. Not for them. Not ever. And that most certainly had never been her choice. Eyes focused on the other gi--woman. Fuck, they were women now. It had been so long since she'd seen her, maybe not long enough. Curious, she thought as she noticed how Aurora flinched at her once she got into her space. She didn't like that feeling swirling in her gut, that blaring siren that was telling her to not invade her space. To not be such a bitch even though it hurt. Taking a deep breath to center herself, Kassandra moved back from out of Aurora's immediate vicinity. "Sorry... I don't... This is just a lot. You have to understand that." Pinching the bridge of her nose, the older girl let out a shaky breath as she tried to remain calm and not utterly hostile. "You're here because of work? That doesn't make any sense. You're not... Who exactly told you about this place? This island hasn't allowed..." Kass trailed off, swallowing thickly as she put two and two together far slower than she would have liked. "You... All this time?" Her face was incredulous, hoping that the grief and betrayal wasn't apparent there as well.
—
Aurora ran a sweaty hand through her hair trying to control her breathing, to remember what the institute taught her about emotions, and control. She had to be in control. Or at least some semblance of control over her own emotions and actions. That was what she told herself, her only way to never end up in the same situation as she had spent most of her childhood. Flinching, showing vulnerability as Kass got close to her face was the opposite of that. How this woman, this one woman still had such power over her made something coil in her belly. A slow breath released as Kass took a step back and nodded her head. Oh she understood, she understood good and well how awkward this all was. How could she not? She had lied her ass off the last time the two had actually talked and for years after that she had to pretend she wasn't broken whenever she saw the other woman. "Yes work...." She said softly. "I -- I found out about this place because a charge of mine was brought here." she licked her lips eyes staying glued to Kass' "Humans?" she asked with a bit of a chuckle. "Unknowingly yes. I'm guessing the same was true for you?" Aurora said her tone even, barely a hit of happiness or surprise there. "My mother -- my biological mother," she corrected "Came to me after my father told me the truth. That was four years ago."
 —
That made it better at least, knowing that Aurora hadn't been something from her as big as that their entire childhood. But it still didn't make her feel any better, in fact it made her feel worse. She thought the lies had started after her mother found out she was gay but the more Kassandra thought about it.. The more she came to understand that they'd never fully been honest with each other. Not even from the start. Her eyes squeezed closed, grimacing as she thought back to every lie she'd ever told Aurora. None of them malicious. All of them with intent to protect her from whatever the hell kind of freak she was. And then she found out about herself but by that time it was already too late, they were broken up and it didn't matter anymore. They didn't matter anymore. Still deciding to keep her eyes closed, Kassandra desperately tried to keep her breathing under control. "I'm trying to wrap my head around this. Around you being here. I never thought I would see you again and yet... Here you are. Standing in front of me." Green eyes finally opened once more, landing on her ex, not realizing how her hands immediately did that thing they always did when she was antsy. As her fingers twisted together, pinching and pulling, Kassandra took this time to give Aurora a quick once-over. "I haven't seen you since... Since my mom." Kass cleared her throat, desperately trying to not let her memory go back to that day
 —
Aurora could see the gears turning in Kassandra's head, she could understand the questions and pain rolling through her -- and she so wished she could just take it away. All these years apart -- and apparently she couldn't let go of wanting to protect Kassandra. She sucked in her bottom lip and lightly chewed on it. A nervous habit she had had since she was a toddler. "I'm -- not in a better situation." she said sucking in a long breath through her lips.  She wouldn't lie, she really never had expected to see Kass again -- but she was happy to see her. "Seeing anyone I knew, much less you .... here on this island was not something I was expecting." she said swallowing hard. Feeling and seeing Kass's eyes trail over her body warmed her cheeks ever so slightly. She returned the look glancing over Kass and stopping on her hands. "I'm sorry my presence is upsetting you...." she said quietly, "I swear, I didn't come here to interrupt your life or mess with you. I had.... no idea." Her voice had gone from more cold to more sad the longer she talked especially as she started to think of Kass's mother. She hated the woman for kicking Kass out; how anyone could disown a child for that -- disown Kass for that infuriated her. "Yeah....It's been a long... time" she said pushing her own memories of the funeral and that time away from her conscious thought. "H--How have you been?"
—
'What life' she wanted to mutter out. She'd barely started anything here and now she'd gotten rid of the one thing that could take her far away from her ex because of what... Some kind of hopeful whim that she could be better? How the hell was she supposed to get better when one of the people that destroyed her was standing in front of her like nothing had ever happened. Kassandra tensed when Aurora asked how she was, looking at her former love incredulously. "Are you serious?" Once more her walls went up and the woman went on the defensive, arms crossing over her chest again. "You don't get to ask me that. How do you think I've been, Aurora? Do I look like I'm okay to you?" Kassandra raised her arms in a swooping motion of her body, fully forgetting that she still had bruises and healing wounds from the fight. Tears sprung to her eyes, whether they were out of sadness or anger, she couldn't quite tell which. "You don't get to just walk back into my life and pretend like you care. I buried us. I buried her. And look what I've become because of it!" Her voice rose only to break on the last word, lower lip wobbling. What had she become... Oh Gods.
 —
“I was just — trying to be polite...” Aurora said her throat closing up as Kassandra snapped, and her arms swooped upwards. There was another flash, another adrenaline boost from the movement. She had to repeat to herself the mantra her therapist taught her to calm down Deep in, deep out, you are safe she repeated before actually taking a moment to truly look over  Kass’s body. The bruises — the pain in Kass’s voice. It was so familiar so painful she felt a bit more of her heart snap and ache to reach for her. “Kass — why? What happened?” she said a hand moving as if to reach for her, then clenched shut and fell back to her side. “Its not pretending. I do care. I’ve always cared Kass.” she said her voice dropping, and for the first time pain and hurt danced their way into her tone. “I dont know what you’ve become Kass, I just know who you were. I know that burying your mother was fucking hard and I should have known you wouldn’t have been there you— didn’t need to be there to deal with that bullshit. But Kass, you weren’t the only one who buried multiple things that day.”
 —
Kassandra shut her eyes, trying to ignore the memories that flew through her mind of the fight. Of those words that horrible woman had thrown her way, bringing all the darkness of her past to the forefront. "My demons came to haunt me, that's what happened. And now the one person I thought..." She stopped herself, not wanting to say the rest out loud. Not with how Aurora was looking at her with those brown eyes, like she was broken. For one brief and shining moment she had thought that that wasn't the case. That maybe she could be better. That things with Zoey were a precursor of things to come. Progress to be had, progress to be found. Except that had all flown out the damn window the second she'd ran into her. Green eyes flashed as they shot open at Aurora's remark about how she has always cared. She felt herself beginning to tense up, beginning to brim with white-hot anger. She wanted to shout at her but her ex kept talking and kept saying things that made her heart feel like it was being torn out of her chest piece by piece. "You've always cared." Her lip quivered, this time not out of sadness but out of thinly-veiled rage. "You destroyed me! You broke me until I couldn't breathe. I was so utterly and hopelessly in love with you. I wanted no one else but you. Ever. It was you when we were five and it was you when we were fifteen and you..." She took a sharp inhale, tears now streaming down her cheeks. "You took all that love and when it got hard you threw it away! You threw us away! Whatever you buried that day... It wasn't us. You did that when we were sixteen.”
—
Her brow furrowed as she listened to Kassandra talk, the idea that someone had hurt Kass -- that someone had the audacity to hurt her... She sucked in a breath. How did she still care so deeply about this woman after so many years away? After she had hurt Kassandra so damn badly. She had had good reason.... but that didn't negate the pain Kass felt, or the pain she felt from it as well of course. The hatred and vitriol that Kass felt towards her was well earned. She just so wished she could explain without sounding like she was making excuses.  She clenched her eyes shut as Kass spoke, it wasn't loud, but it was harsh and sharp and --- her breath was blown away. Aurora continued to repeat the mantra, continued to tell herself she was okay, that this would be okay if she just fucking breathed.  "I -- " she kept her eyes shut taking one last deep breath in through her nose and out through her mouth before she let them flutter open and lock on with green eyes that made her stomach flip and her body ache. The tears on Kass's face only made it worse. "You're not wrong. I buried us the moment your mother showed up at my house after kicking you out and told my mother what happened. I buried us the moment my mother gave me this scar" she motioned to her cheek where a thin scar was unable to be fully covered by makeup, " and threatened me and you within an inch of my life" She started as the uber pulled up, the driver stepping out. She glanced over her shoulder and then glanced to her bag -- apparently the driver could even feel the tension and he quietly moved to her and took the bag loading it up and then slipping back into the car as Aurora's attention refocused on Kass.
"I had to burry us to keep her rage in check. I buried any hope of ever explaining to you that truth when you didn't show up to your mother's funeral and I was finally free of both of them. I buried your mom, my mom and our relationship in one evening." She said her tone cool and calm. "I'm sorry Kassandra, I will never stop being sorry for the pain I caused you.  I will never stop being sorry for breaking both our hearts that night in the park. And I'm sorry for showing back up here-- now in your home and throwing all this at you. But I swear I'm here for work and I will do my best to leave the moment I can so you never have to see my face again." She moved to the car and opened up the door. "I'm sorry Kass. Really. I am. I'll do my best to avoid you while I'm here. I -- hope your bruises heal quickly" she said biting her lip, as she sucked in a breath. Her eyes lingered on green for a moment; taking in every detail trying to remember -- to erase the bruises and the pain and just see the girl she loved so long ago.

People talked about when they felt their heart stop in the movies or in books. Kassandra had never known that feeling. Nothing written on pages or emulated on a screen could prepare her for the whiplash that hit her as her eyes trailed to a scar on that beautiful face that she'd tried for so many years to forget. Her heart crashed in her chest, squeezing painfully and it was like... Like the breath had been ripped from her lungs. Her vision was spotty as she stood there, mouth opening and closing in shock. It didn't even register to her that Aurora was getting into the car and driving away until someone else walked out of the airport, walking in front of her. "I..." Her voice broke out, all the rushing in her ears crashing down around her as she stumbled away until she was out of sight of the airport. Of anyone. Her legs carried her to a section of the coastline that didn't get much foot traffic. The second she knew she was alone was when she finally broke. A loud and painful scream tore from her throat. Anguish felt from the depths of her soul as another soon accompanied it. Falling to her knees, she sobbed brokenly as she held her head in her hands. Fingers dug at her scalp, threaded in her hair while yet another scream left her. Her chest heaved up and down, faster than it should have as she stared out at the ocean. Tears felt like waves as they ran down her cheeks, hands now moving to clench into sand as if trying to find some kind of hold on reality. But just like the remnants of her former life, the sand slipped through her fingers until she was left clawing at nothing but her own skin and bones. Clawing until her palms bled. Until her hands ached. How had she never known that about Aurora? How had she been so fucking blind? Her stomach churned, bile filling her throat until she swallowed it down. Buried along with her sins.
"What have I become..." The words were whispered to no one but herself as she fully collapsed on her side, face laying on the sand as she stared out at the waves that began to gently lap against the shore. "I really... She was right." Kassandra took a ragged breath, eyes red from crying as she remembered the word her mother had called her before she'd kicked her out. She hated the word but it was true. It was the only thing that had fit. "I am so... Worthless..." Her breathing slowed as she let her eyes fall closed, not caring as she let darkness overtake her vision. The ocean waves lapped calmly on the sand as Kassandra fell asleep from pure exhaustion, thankful for a reprieve from the demons she'd thought she had buried.
