What if Pokémon Legends went on to other Regions?
This has been a topic of the Pokémon fandom for awhile. With the announcement of Pokémon Legends: Arceus not too long ago, many fans are anticipating and speculating the future of this ambitious side series.
Being able to not only witness, learn and partake in the legends that shape both the regions and Legendary Pokémon, leaves much room for creativity.
This is all merely speculation.
Here's my take for how any future Pokémon Legends games could play out.
Pokémon Legends: Mew
Set about roughly 20 years before the events of Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow, the elusive Mew makes an appearance in the Kanto Region.
This prompts many scientists to want to study and catch the original Pokémon, foreshadowing the creation of Mewtwo and the Ditto.
You, the player, are taken under the wing of a much younger Professor Oak, with the Gen 1 Gym Leaders also showing up to lend a hand.
As the plot focuses on you tracking down Mew before various criminals and an older Team Rocket, try to for their own nefarious purposes. Helping Professor Oak invent the Pokédex and with his research.
Gene splicing and gene testing on Pokémon grew after the War LT. Surge fought in, with an older Team Rocket using it to their advantage.
This Team Rocket being a much bigger criminal organization, before the player took them down and a smaller one appeared in Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow.
A younger Giovanni is also present, as the player gets to know the man that would go on to lead present day Team Rocket. He's a friend to the player... for now, giving some insight on who he was beforehand and show how he took over the criminal organization, setting up the events Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow.
Mew's appearance in the Kanto region, inspires him to the point of illegal gene testing on Pokémon.
As a nod to Pokémon first debuting in 1996, the game takes on a more of a late 60s to mid 70s aesthetic, so it feels like the player is shaping the legends that set up Gen 1 of Pokémon.
Plus Kanto in the Legends artstyle would be mindblowing. And take inspiration from 60s to 70s Japan.
In addition, to avoid looking too similar to Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Being more of a modern era Japan region, than a Meiji period Japan inspired region. While following in said game's footsteps, by focusing on the secondary legendary than the main one (Mewtwo).
The starters would be Chikorita (Gen 1 is about Nature vs Technology), Torchic (Peace and War aesthetic) and Popplio (60s to 70s definitely saw a rise in many famous and popular musicians).
Pokémon Legends: Celebi
Ever wonder the origins of the Legendary Beasts: Raikou, Suicine and Entei?
What they were before they were killed in Brass Tower revived by Ho-Oh? How Ho-Oh came down and choose them, saving their lives? The sea Lugia stays in the deep for? The early days of Johto? The ruins of Alpha in the past? The early days of the Kimino Girls?
Well now you, the player, do now! ...sort of. As the title of the game implies, the player meets and befriends Celebi and gets to see many of these events via time travel.
Not only would this include a huge mechanic separate from other Legends games, but it would be the most unique in how it could be approached. As Nintendo is no stranger to time travel games (e.g. Majora's Mask) that impact both the plot and gameplay.
Time travel tends to create stories that are very confusing or very heartwrenching. Or both. But I have no doubt it would be the latter.
It also leaves room for many side quests.
Starters would be Bulbasaur (Time is all about growth), Scorbunny (Bunny Rabbits are not only a common symbol in the older days of Japan, but of Spring much like Ho-Oh) and Froakie (ninjas were more prevalent during this time period, as they slowly faded out).
Pokémon Legends: Jirachi
1000 years before the events of Pokémon Emerald, (Omega) Ruby and (Alpha) Sapphire, chaos raged across the ancient Hoenn Region, between two legendary Pokémon: Groudon and Kyogre. The Draconid people hope and pray for the arrival of Rayquaza to save the Hoenn Region itself.
This is where the player steps in: in order for all this chaos to end, the wishes of the people must be heard. And the only Pokémon capable of that is Jirachi.
The player would go around helping wishes be granted, traveling and training Pokémon along the way.
An ancestor of Zinnia also makes an appearance as a friend and rival of the player.
To maintain the wishes and stars aesthetic, Deoxys also makes an appearance with its origin being explored. Being able to explore space itself, meeting Pokémon said to have an "alien" origin, like Elgyem and Beheeyem.
Latios and Latias can also be caught, flying on them just like in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.
The meteor that would hit the future Sootopolis is what awakened Groudon and Kyogre, said Meteor containing Deoxys. Setting up the game's plot.
Since it's roughly 1000 years before the Gen 3 Pokémon games, Hoenn resembles and takes inspiration from Japan during the Heian period.
The starters would be Turtwig (Theme of continents being at stake), Chimchar (Japanese and Chinese relations) and Totodile (sea monster symbolism, which is often associated with crocodiles and related animals).
Pokémon Legends: The Dragon
Two Princes, of Galar origin, known as the "Twin Heroes" share the power of an unimaginable Legendary Dragon. Bringing Truth and Ideals to the people of Unova. They live and lead from Relic Castle.
You, the player, are a friend of the princes and over the course of the game, your alliance with them changes. Struggling to choose between Truth or Ideals. Serving as a major story mechanic.
A feud and disagreement between the Princes happen, with the player being caught in the middle and to try to quell the anger of the Dragon.
In addition to finally seeing Reshiram and Zekrom before they split, Victini is also present with the Swords of Justice Pokémon (Cobalion, Virizion, and Terrakion), the Forces of Nature (Tornadus, Thundurus, and Landorus) and even Meloetta tries to raise people's spirits.
Team Plasma's origins are alluded to, with the army of the Princes baring an odd resemblance to the future evil team.
The game has more of a wild western aesthetic since Unova is based on New York. Think late 18th century America. With horseback riding on Pokémon like Zebstrika and Rapidash, bandits and criminals that try to steal your Pokémon and being able to explore Unova in its entirety.
Or perhaps roaring 20s to 30s America. If that setting sounds more vibrant and close to the Unova of Gen 5. This is all still speculation.
You even get to ride Keldeo in a later part of the game.
The starters would be Chespin (Chesnaught is based on a Glyptodon; fossils were found in South America), Litten (Wrestling is popular in New York) and Mudkip (mudpuppies are found in Lake Michigan).
Pokémon Legends: Diancie
Set after the Kalos War, you the player are caught in the middle of it going off to fight with your Pokémon. Hoping to make a difference as the Professor (ancestor of Professor Sycamore) takes you under his wing. And hoping to help the war turned world that is Kalos.
Yveltal and Xernas have both gone into slumber, with Zygarde needing to be restored to at least 50% (player can go to 100%), so the world of Kalos can be healed from this war.
The main game focuses on Diancie: since Diancie is the Pokémon of diamonds, the war has forced soldiers and leaders to exhaust the many resources of the Kalos region. Particularly precious stones and diamonds.
The player befriends Diancie later in the game as the two work together to bring an end the greedy hearts of those involved.
The game resembles France during the 100 Years War, with the player character even having armor as part of their attire. Due to Kalos being based off of France, roughly Middle Ages or Medieval France in this game's case.
AZ also makes a few appearances in the game, racked with grief over firing the Ultimate Weapon, mostly keeping to himself over the game's plot.
As a new gameplay mechanic, the player can befriend other trainers to amass armies to overcome many challenges, like beating other armies and crossing obstacles.
Volcanion and Hoopa are also present in the game and can be caught.
The origins of Mega Evolutions are expanded on, with the player getting their hands on some Mega Stones. Due to the energy of the Ultimate Weapon.
The starters would be Snivy (said Pokémon is based on French nobility), Piplup (Empoleon is based off of Emperors and can be a nod to Napoleon) and Charmander (Charizard is based off of European Dragons).
Pokémon Legends: Marshadow
Set in the ancient Aloha region, when Tribes followed the Tapu Pokémon, you the player find yourself stranded in this intriguing region.
Ultra space wormholes begin opening across the region and its up to the player to figure out why and how to stop them. Even being able to traverse the Ultra Megalopolis in its entirety.
Necrozma is up to it and the player must learn why. With Marshadow playing a bigger role, since most of its origin is shrouded in mystery, so this would be a great opportunity to explore those origins.
Along with the origins of the Z-Crystals.
The game has more of an ancient Polynesian world, seeing as how Aloha is based of Hawaii. Being able to sail to smaller islands and even catch Pokémon while doing so.
The starters would be Grookey (drums are a popular musical instrument in the tropics), Sobble (chameleons are native to Hawaii) and Tepig (pigs have been brought to Polynesian Islands in the past).
Pokémon Legends: Zarude
3000 years, before the events of Pokémon Sword and Shield, a black storm covers the very region itself. This black storm causes Pokémon to randomly Dynamax and Gigantamax. Many live in fear of what the next day brings, as hope of a better day seems like only a naive dream.
The player joins with many Pokémon researchers (some being ancestors of familiar faces in Pokémon Sword and Shield), in order to track down the source of this chaos.
Zarude comes in as he helps providing with resources from various forests, so less Pokémon and people are harmed. Or worse.
The player believes tracking down Zarude, will lead them to stopping this madness (Eternatus).
The game looks much like 13th to 14th century Britain, in much of the fashion of characters and even dealing with the equivalent of a plague. Ironically enough.
The starters are Treecko (Forest theme and light in the dark theme in contrast to the Darkest Days), Fenniken (Magicians are a common Middle Ages motif) and Squirtle (Cannons were first invented in Europe, around this time period).

hello! loved your tbb meta posts (10/10 analyses of the batch and their respective characterizations), but since it wasn't explicitly mentioned -- did you catch the post-s1 interview with jennifer corbett (head writer) and brad rau (exec producer)? their answers about crosshair's chip being out were Interesting (tm) but fairly definitive-sounding, so I'm wondering what your thoughts on it might've been.
Hey there, anon! Thank you—I’m so glad you’ve enjoyed them :D
I’ve heard this info second-hand and ran into one written interview on the topic (idk if it’s the same one you’re thinking of), but my first response is… arguably a reach lol. Not to start off with a tin hat on, but it’s always possible that the writers are lying. Which yes, yes, we have a knee-jerk reaction against the idea of anyone lying for any reason, but in this case, it would be in service of both the writer’s plans and the audience’s enjoyment. Let’s say for the sake of argument that Crosshair’s chip is definitely still in and the entire point of this setup is a double twist: first the reveal that his chip is gone, then the real reveal that it’s actually still in and Crosshair was lied to (among other possibilities). How can the writers discuss him during hiatus without revealing that twist? By playing the current knowledge straight, despite the fact that they know otherwise. Yup, Crosshair’s chip is out. Yup, he chose this 100% willingly. Nothing else to see here, folks! To do otherwise would be to reveal the twist way too early. Even refusing to answer the question, dodging it, would give it all away. Imagine if during a season finale we’re meant to believe that a character is dead and then during hiatus an interviewer asks how the cast will mourn them. If the writer refuses to answer, every fan will realize that Something Is Up and what’s the main possibility here? That they’re not actually dead! Twist spoiled… unless the writer pretends that what the audience currently knows is definitely the truth here.
Taking my tin hat off now, these interviews are one of the main reasons why I’m worried about the writing moving forward. Because despite the paragraph above, I’m by no means convinced that the writers are skillfully keeping up a lie to avoid spoilers. It’s not outside the realm of possibility, but it’s not necessarily likely either. Which leaves us taking their words at face value and that’s… a problem. Because as so many fans have already pointed out, the writing is setting up a twist that, according to these interviews, doesn’t exist. That doesn’t say good things about their intentions for the show vs. what actually ends up on screen and that kind of disconnect becomes frustrating for viewers very quickly. Take the headaches, for example. I’ve seen a couple of fans explain Crosshair’s away using the engine accident: “His face got burned up, of course his head still hurts. You’re reading too much into this.” But imagine for a moment if I’d tried to do the same thing for Wrecker prior to “Battle Scars”: “He gets thrown around and hits his head nearly every episode, of course it hurts. You’re reading too much into this.” Other fans would have—quite rightfully—explained to me how television works and that this repetitive problem is functioning as foreshadowing of a larger problem. With a side of the fact that this is an action show where the characters consistently shrug off their injuries. We’re not supposed to take Wrecker getting thrown around seriously. He’s the brawn of the group, meant to withstand a lot of damage, with any injuries being presented as either #cool (Wrecker shrugs off Fennec’s hits to go after Omega, yeah!) or #funny (Wrecker treats Crosshair shooting him like a badge of honor lol), not something he’s going to have to grapple with in a serious manner. So the audience recognizes the question, what’s more likely? That Wrecker’s headaches are a deliberate visual cue on the part of the writers to tell us that something important is happening, or that suddenly how the genre treats injuries has drastically changed?
It's precisely the same with Crosshair. He’s not the brawn like Wrecker is, but he’s still the action (anti)hero who shrugs off injuries because this is a show interested in more fun, explosive plot, not a deep dive into recovery. (See also: the story doing nothing with Echo’s trauma.) When Crosshair is injured, he’s immediately fighting to get back into a ship and when we next see him he’s passed the recovery stage entirely. There’s only a scar to show that this happened at all. We don’t watch him getting bacta skin grafts, or worrying about his eyesight, or struggling to eat, etc. The point is that he was injured for the purposes of that episode and now he’s not. So why would we think his headaches are a long-term symptom when the show is otherwise not at all interested in writing long-term symptoms? What’s more likely, that this familiar visual cue is being repeated to tell us that this is the chip, just like it was with Wrecker, or that the story is randomly interested in something it never was interested in before?
The audience is right to think that there’s more going on because the show has been written to say, "Something more is going on." The headaches, Crosshair’s refusal to give concrete information, the group conveniently not using Tech’s scanner, the burn scar hiding where the chip’s scar would be, a lack of motivation for the Empire removing the chip, not seeing its removal when the show did include its power being amplified… all of these are deliberate writing choices to set up another reveal. But, if we take the interview at face value and learn that these weren’t deliberate details… then what? The writers are making mistakes? Throwing in “clues” for the hell of it that they never intend to cache in on? Unless there’s some amazing answer here that allows for both these inconsistencies' explanations and the writers’ hard stance—something I personally can’t think up—then we’re left with is a pretty serious flaw in the show. A flaw that’s going to undermine the audience’s trust in everything we get from here on out. The next time we see something that feels like a cool setup/reveal, half the fandom will be going, “Yes! It totally means that ___ is going to happen!!” while the other half will be going, “… does it? Because we thought things were happening with Crosshair and that went nowhere.” Writers have to tackle the implications of what they’ve put on screen. Otherwise, the story falls apart.
So yeah, I’m aware of those hard “His chip is out and this is his choice” statements and, frankly, they make me nervous for season two. Because what the show needs is to engage with what we actually got in the finale: an ambiguous state of Crosshair’s chip, a number of hints that it might still be in there, and an ethical dilemma that, so far, hasn’t acknowledged how much of an influence the group’s decisions have had on Crosshair’s. I tackled most of this in the first analysis, but something I didn’t unpack there was the “choice” of not leaving with them. I mean yes, by all exact definitions—and if we accept that the chip really isn’t there—then Crosshair absolutely had free will in that moment to do as he pleased. But life is way more complicated than that. Imagine for a moment that I put two candy bars in front of you. “You can have whichever one you’d like,” I say. You reach for the one on the left and I glare, hard. I scoff at you. I mutter about your choices, your personality, your flaws, and your mistakes. So you reach for the one on the right instead and I’m… neutral. Okay then. Right candy bar it is. “They could have chosen the one on the left” someone watching claims. “Nothing was stopping them. No one put a gun to their head!” And yeah, the concept of “stopping them” was never that extreme… but the more compassionate, nuanced look acknowledge that some measure of “stopping them” did exist. Insults. Cruelty. A clear indication that one choice was wrong and the other was right. That’s one hell of an influence, even if it's not as formidable as a gun or a chip.
And that’s what Crosshair is dealing with. Yes, joining the Empire is clearly wrong and yes, a non-chipped Crosshair has free will to walk away from it… but walking towards TBB was never presented as a real option for him. He saw that through their inaction when they never came back for him. Then in Hunter’s refusal to admit that they’d made a mistake in leaving him behind. Wrecker putting all responsibility on his shoulders, despite knowing what the chip does to someone. Tech backing him up and framing this situation as stemming solely from Crosshair’s base personality—“severe and unyielding.” It’s seen in the always-loving Omega walking away from him in the barracks, in Crosshair’s hesitation to follow them to safer ground (and boy oh boy, do I have sad headcanons about that), and most especially, in their reactions to him saving Omega. What Crosshair learns in that moment is that they honestly believe that he, not the Empire's chip, but he would shoot Hunter and that saving their little sister is not a point in his favor. It's met only with glares and a need to disarm himself. They don’t trust him and actions that should produce trust are outright ignored, so… where can they go from here? Nowhere, according to TBB’s actions. They’re not giving Crosshair any wiggle room, any hope that these relationships can be repaired, or any acknowledgement that they had a hand in things getting this bad. So when they offer to let Crosshair come with them—which is very significantly presented as an obligation, not something they want—he knows that offer is BS. Whatever their real feelings might be (because the found family show obviously wants us to believe that everyone loves each other), their actions have said loud and clear that they don’t want him. That yes, he could technically walk onto that ship… but that it would be the “wrong” decision accompanied by more insults, scoffs, and pressure to do otherwise. That once he's there, he'll be treated only as a threat with any good deeds ignored. It's an awful offer outside of it being the morally correct decision when it comes to leaving the Empire... so Crosshair reaches for the right candy bar instead.
That very long tangent out of the way, THIS is what season two has to grapple with, along with all that ambiguity and the existence of these "The chip is still here" hints. But the interviews don’t seem to acknowledge that all of this exists, instead framing things as if we’d ended the finale knowing for sure that the chip is out and had watched a season where Crosshair is 100% responsible for everything that’s happened, no Empire or TBB influence involved. The way the interviews frame things doesn’t match up with the text, so I can only hope this is an example of bad communication, or the writers keeping a spoiler under wraps, because otherwise… season two might be frustrating to watch, with fans continually going, “Why are you ignoring that this happened? Why are you pretending that all of this is simpler than it actually is?”

Alpha, Omega, Carol and Beth - It’s All Coming Together
Okay, I've been thinking about this theory for several weeks now and I'm just now getting around to doing it. I'm glad that I hadn't posted it for now because meeting the highwaymen did change it a little bit.
So, keep mentioning Carol symbolism, and how she ties into the Alpha arc. Let's start with the symbol we saw by Carol in 9x11. Everybody wondered what it was and we now know the highwaymen left it there.
Tumblr media
Before we knew that, @bluesandbeth did a little research. She found this.
Tumblr media
Look similar? This is the first letter, Alef, of the ancient Phoenician alphabet which actually predates the Greek. Think about this. It's the first letter, which means it's the ancient Phoenician equivalent of “A” or “Alpha.”
At first, we thought this was another symbol for Alpha (the character). If that had been the case, it would simply have foreshadowed that Carol was on some sort of collision course with Alpha. And due to Henry spoilers, we already know that.
Now we know it wasn't Whisperers who left the sign here, but rather the highwaymen. In terms of the plot, the symbol does not represent Alpha. However, I think that symbolically, it still could. Let me explain.
If this symbol represents an A, it may not only be about Alpha, but about the A theme we’ve seen since S4. We’ve seen tons of As and there have been dozens of TD theories about what the A's might represent and how everything fits together. And yes, we do strongly believe the As either point to Beth or are somehow tied up in her arc.
Tumblr media
So, then we wondered if maybe all the As in the A theme pointed toward Alpha. Alpha never seemed (to me, anyway) like she was quite as big a deal as other CB arcs, especially Negan. I felt like the show made a much bigger deal about Negan than they ever did about Alpha. People knew she was coming, of course, and she’s still a big deal, but there just wasn't as much hype about her as there was about Negan.
It's also important to note that spoilers have told us the Whisperer arc will be much bigger and more complicated than it was in the CBs. So that may feed into this. Maybe they always meant Alpha to be bigger, but there wasn't as much hype about it because in the CBs, she's really not bigger than Negan.
If the A's are specifically tied to Beth and she comes back during the Whisperer arc, then it really may be that all the A's pointed toward Alpha.
(P.S. I really think this Phoenician alphabet symbolism is a thing because if you look farther down, the 9th symbol in the alphabet, theth, looks damn close to the symbol Morgan keeps carving into trees.)
Tumblr media
Alpha truly showed up in 9x10. Yes we saw her at the end of the previous episode when she took Luke and Alden captive, but we didn't see her face or really know who she was. Her true arrival was in 9x10 when she came to the gates of Hilltop.
So, Alpha showed up in an episode called Omega and in it, she's wearing an infinity belt. Guys, I literally have a post that I wrote after the finale of S8 called Alpha, Omega, the 8 Clocks, and Infinity Signs. Feel free to read it and others on the subject HERE, and I'm going to draw from them a bit, so I would suggest re-familiarizing yourself with what I'm talking about.
I won’t say much more about the infinity symbol, except that Alpha’s belt is important and it’s part of the Alpha/Omega symbolism. Read the above post for details. (Btw, I’m also pretty sure that, in addition to an infinity sign, her belt is a snake eating it’s own tail. That’s another common infinity symbol, and we can tie snakes to both Morgan (ouroboros) and Bethyl (Still).)
Tumblr media
We’ve seen several “Alpha and Omega” references in the show throughout the seasons. Remember, the reason “Alpha and Omega” is a big deal is because that phrase is a very well-known name for Christ. He says he is Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End. And of course Beth is the Christ figure. In other words, Alpha and Omega is both a Christ and a resurrection symbol.
One of the more references to this phrase was in 7x16 when Sasha died. In a flashback to her and Abraham talking, Abraham said, "alpha to omega, battlefield to beach." I was very excited about that at the time, not only because of the Alpha and Omega, but because of the “battlefield to beach.”
Tumblr media
The “battlefield to beach” was exciting because of all the beach/ocean/Oceanside/water symbols we've seen around Beth.
But let's travel further back. To show how Carol is tied into this, we need to return to episode 6x13, The Same Boat. In this episode, Carol and Maggie were taken prisoner by Paula and her group of Saviors. This episode had tons of great Beth and Grady parallels. The biggest was simply that Carol and one of the Greene sisters were taken hostage by a group of baddies. TD gleefully pointed out that Maggie—the Greene sister in this instance—survived, which means Beth must have too.
But there were way more suspicious parallels than only that. For this episode, lots of people talked about (and I believe tptb leaked this) how the set they used came from the film, Saw. I’m going to give you some spoilers from that film. (It came out in 2004; if you haven’t seen it yet after 15 years, it’s really your own fault. 😉)
Tumblr media
In the film, two men who wake up in a strange room. They’re chained on opposite sides of a room and spend most of the film figuring out how to get away. Lots of mind games ensue. In between where the two men are chained lays a dead body who has obviously been shot in the head. You can see his head wound and he lies in a puddle of blood.
After the entire movie happens, in a major twist at the end, that dead man stands up and is actually alive. In fact, he's the one who put the two men there and set up this entire game. It’s a cool film, but the point is, they used that same set for 6x13 and made heavy reference to a movie where someone who'd been shot in the head and was playing dead turned out to be alive.
Similarly, in this episode, Carol and Maggie are tied up on opposite sides of the room and there's a dead body between them. I this case, it's a walker, which doesn't get up and turn out to be alive at the end.
Tumblr media
But…
What does this walker look like? That's right. It's a blonde, Beth-walker. We have a walker that represents Beth in a position that mirrors the character in Saw who is just playing dead (kind of like a possum?) and turns out to be alive at the end.
Tumblr media
But there's more. And here's where Carol comes in. At some point Paula’s Saviors drag the walker out of the room. The walker has a crucifix on it and Carol takes it and holds it for most of the rest of the episode.
Tumblr media
Why does that matter? Because Beth famous wore a crucifix at Grady when she was shot.
Tumblr media
We may not have understood why at the time, but we knew 6x13 was a retelling of Grady. 1) Carol + Greene sister taken captive by a bad group, 2) the idea of someone being shot in the head, 3) everyone assuming someone dead who in the end, and 4) the crucifix. We found other details as well, but these are the big ones.
Everyone’s already talked about how they’re setting up up a Carol vs. Alpha arc because of Henry and Lydia. My point here is that 6x13 ties Carol very heavily to Beth’s story line.
So, what does this have to do with S9? Well, in 6x13, we also had some major, heavy “Alpha and Omega” symbolism. When Paul first takes Maggie and Carol to the building, and they're both blindfolded, Paula references the Greek alphabet when using her walkie-talkie. He calls. Check out THIS POST for interpretations of her actual words I’ve done in the past. That was back when I hoped Beth would arrive in S8. For purposes of today's theory, it's only important that they use the Alpha and Omega symbolism, because we think it may have foreshadowed Alpha’s arrival in S9.
Tumblr media
Check it out: Paula used the phrase “Alpha and Omega” in an episode that had massive Grady parallels. Then the villain Alpha arrives in an episode called Omega, an episode that also had massive Grady parallels (Lydia's prisoner exchange).
So, what does it all mean?
In a very general way, I think it's a good thing to have Carol and Alpha on a collision course because chances are Beth will be in the mix somewhere, too. In other words, it’s another way to say this will probably lead to Beth's arrival in some way.
This next part of this is a little bit more conjecture, but I think it's worth noting.
I’ve said that I think when Ezekiel "dies" it will actually be a death fake out. Which means Carol and Ezekiel will have a very similar, if not identical, arc to what Bethyl (and now Richonne) do. Namely, that one of them thinks the others dead when they're really not.
This is where things get really complicated but interesting. If I'm right about Ezekiel having a fake out and Cazekiel repeating Bethyl’s arc, then the Carol/Beth entanglement takes a whole new meaning.
For example, Carol being 6x13 probably foreshadowed that eventually Carol would have an arc much like the one that started it, Grady. I also think that's true of the references to the serious piggyback we’ve seen around Carol. Remember that in S7, she read a book that had the piggyback on the front and that was right after Ezekiel came to see her, when he was still courting her, but she wasn’t open to the relationship yet.
Tumblr media
Then we saw another one this season on the poster at the movie theater. So, of course, those are things we link to Beth, and rightly so, but I also think they foreshadow a similar arc for Carol and Ezekiel.
We can even take this back to Consumed. Carol went with Daryl into Atlanta to search for Beth.
Tumblr media
Plot-wise, it didn't really have to be her. The same stuff would have happened if Michonne had gone with him or Maggie or anyone else. Maggie might have made more sense because she and Daryl were the ones closest to Beth. Now, four seasons later, we can see that there was a bigger plan in place. They had Carol accompany Daryl, not to tease a certain ship as so many have claimed, but because it foreshadowed that eventually, she would have a similar arc to the one about to play out in Atlanta.
Remember we saw the toy tiger on her bunk, which foreshadowed Shiva and the Kingdom. We never realized it before, but seeing the tiger and this foreshadow specifically in 5x06 ties the Kingdom to this death fake out arc.
Once again, this shows how much planning and how far in advance the writers plan for the show. At the very least, they were already planning Carol's also arc in S5 (toy tiger) but we already know Rick's departure was planned in S4, so I think most of this has been planned since S4 as well.
Another idea I’ve been toying with: Remember that in 6x13, Carol took the cross, and it was specifically Beth who wore the rosary around her wrist at Grady. That made me think that maybe it won’t be Ezekiel in Beth's place, but actually Carol. You would think her taking the cross would make her Beth, symbolically.
On the one hand, it would be super crazy if Carol “died" or disappeared. Not only have they leaked things to try and make us think Ezekiel is dying, but Kirkman has said Carol is probably the one character he’ll never kill off. Perhaps that was always a tease and a foreshadow. No way to tell yet if they’ll handle it like they did Beth’s arc and the audience will think they’re dead too, or if they’ll do it like with Andy where the audience knows they’re alive, but TF doesn’t.
Despite all this, I’m not convinced it will be Carol rather than Ezekiel who gets the death fake out. Carol and Daryl are very similar, which they’ve confirmed over and over again. And ever since Ezekiel appeared in S7, we instantly saw parallels between him and Beth, because they’re very similar.
Tumblr media
Ezekiel and Beth are the positive ones that have a lot of faith, where Carol and Daryl have a tendency toward isolation and self-destruction. Overall, it makes more sense for it to be Ezekiel who gets the fake out. Carol may have taken the rosary in 6x13 simply to foreshadow the arc. Ezekiel wasn’t in the show then, so it had to be her who took it. Anyway, just some stray thoughts.
That's most of what I wanted to say concerning this. Back when the prisoner exchange happened, we had the symbol, we had Carol on an obvious collision course with Alpha, and we had the Alpha/Omega symbolism which immediately made me think of S6.
For me, this all came together as a complete picture of what they've been planning for Carol for a long time. And it points to Beth's return as well.
I’ve said both these things before but 1) Beth’s line in Still that mentions herself, Michonne, Carol, and Maggie foreshadow these four death fake out arcs. And then there’s the pickle story which foreshadows that three of the apparent deaths will be resurrected. We know Glenn is dead for real, so that means the other three—Rick, Beth, Ezekiel—will turn out to be alive. We can already confirm Rick is, so we’re just waiting for confirmation on the others.
Tumblr media
In closing, let me give a short reiteration on the highwaymen. If the leader, Ozzy (Wizard of Oz reference, btw) represents Santa Clause/St. Nick, and St. Nick brings Beth back to Daryl, and St. Nick resurrects the three people in the pickle story, then it kind of suggests the highway men will in some way will bring these three characters that TF believe are dead back to them. Well, now these highwaymen have entered the story, and it was their sign we saw, which may be part of the A theme.
If the A's have pointed to Alpha all along, perhaps it shows that we’ll see the resurrections during this arc. Meanwhile, spoilers tell us we will see snow in the S9 finale, so we already know we’ll have a Christmas theme. See how this is all coming together?
Beth may or may not show up in the finale (I really hope she will) but if she doesn't, this arc is still very on track to bring her back. And we’ve said before, S10 will have a lot of important events in it.
I'm thinking that's when Ezekiel's death fake out will happen, there's only X symbolism, and that's when Michonne will leave (which means she must know Rick is alive and therefore the resurrections have begun).
And can I just say, I think Rick and Beth's resurrection must happen either concurrently, or else Beth’s will happen first. Either way, we’re coming up on it pretty quick here, whether she arrives this season or not. Thoughts?

Forever the One
Summary: When Omega Dan is of age, he is told by his father that he will be sold off to find an Alpha mate. Cue, Alpha Phil. Alpha Phil is in desperate need for a mate, and although Phil is only a few years older than Dan, he holds a reasoning behind why he needs a mate so quickly. When secrets are revealed that give up why Phil needed a mate, this story may not have a happy ending.
Chaptered Work: This is chapter 4 of 16.
Warnings: None! But if anyone notices one, PLEASE message me and tell me so I can change this!
Word Count: 1,680
Authors Note: This chapter is made to not only foreshadow, but begin to progress the story faster. I’m hoping this worked and I really begin making a great impression with this story. Soon enough, you’re not gonna know what hit you or where it came from! Anyways, happy reading! :)
*Masterlist*
I was confused about Phil’s words. Why wasn’t I allowed to get attached to my mate? Phil was my mate and we were supposed to be bonded, “So, we’re not going to bond?”
Phil shook his head at me, “We’re going to bond,” he said softly, “It’s just that I have reasonings on why you can’t be attached.”
“But…” Phil shook his head again.
I shut up and didn’t speak any more about the subject.
The rest of the evening, well whatever remained of it, was spent by us being silent with one another. I don’t think it was meant to be awkward but it kind of was. Mostly because I kept thinking about what he told me.
I was just so confused on why I couldn’t grow attached to him. I was already growing attached to him by the minute.
My thinking ended up tiring me out. I don’t know why or how but I was soon curled up in Phil’s lap and sleeping with my head on his chest. As I was in the shallow pits of sleep, i noticed something odd about Phil’s breathing: it was faint and barely heard.
But I was too far gone to register what that could mean.
For the time that remained with Phil and I alone before his parent’s came back, we used our time wisely. And by wisely, I meant either cuddling on his couch, sharing sweet moments, and eating pizza. We didn’t do anything further than cuddle and I was getting okay with that.
I liked how he was taking it slow.
But at the same time, I really wanted to kiss him. But I knew that Omega’s weren’t in the place to ever do something like that. So every-time, I would just stare at Phil’s lips and wish I was kissing him.
Sooner than I would have liked, Phil’s parents arrived back home, leaving Phil and I to act like we were closer than before. Which, wasn’t entirely a lie because we were closer, but was also kind of a bummer because I wished we would’ve went a tiny bit further when we were alone.
And I know I probably just contradicted myself.
But I’m terrified of getting my heat. I’m still taking my suppressants and I know that I should probably go off from them soon, but I was so scared of my heat. I haven't had one in so long that this one would probably be worse than any other. My body has been denied something it kept craving for so long that I doubt that I’d so through this one easy.
Furthermore, it was going to be messy.
Heats weren’t exactly clean.
I will produce copious amounts of slick that will ruin and stain the sheets around me. My mind will not be able to process my thoughts and I will be completely ruined. I’ll need toys of all sorts to fulfill me if Phil isn’t there when my heat begins.
And 9 out of 10 times, the Alpha’s rut will be triggered and that will make it worse.
God, I’m so terrified of it.
Phil was taking a nap in his room when I decided to head out and talk with his parent’s officially. I haven’t gotten a chance to since Phil came back because I’ve been spending all my time with him.
They were both sitting in the living room, Alpha Lester with his laptop on his knees and Omega Lester with a magazine. They looked like such a typical couple and I really wanted that for Phil and I one day.
They must of heard me approach because both looked up at the same time, “Dan!” Alpha Lester said happily, “Have a seat.”
I smiled bashfully before having a seat on the couch across from them. I felt like I was being put on the spot but I didn’t have any other choice of seating. “Can I speak with you guys?” I asked carefully.
Both stopped what they were doing and set down their distractions as they stared me down. I felt like their stares were cutting through me and I was feeling really uncomfortable.
“I’ve just been wondering,” I began, “why did you choose me to be a mate for Phil?”
Alpha Lester visibly relaxed and chuckled a little, “Well, I went and looked at all types of possible Omega’s, male and female, and none of them suited what I believed Phil would like. Your father put your ad out there and I showed Phil a photo of you and I noticed his face light up, even if he didn’t want it to. So I came and saw you in person and decided that you were completely right for him.”
I smiled and blushed, “Wow,” I said speechless, “That’s amazing and I’m really glad that you chose me because I really enjoy being Phil’s mate,” he stopped, “But I’m a little concerned over Phil’s health.”
Alpha Lester stared me down, “Phil is perfectly—”
“But listen,” I said more strongly than I would have liked, “The other night, while we were in his room, he was sitting on his bed and when he stood up, he couldn’t breath. He was choking and coughing and I was so concerned. And then when you were gone, it happened again.”
Alpha Lester shook his head, “Nothing wrong with Phil. I’m sure he’s just getting sick.”
“But he couldn’t breathe!” I argued back becoming upset over my mate, “I was so scared for him because I didn’t know what was happening! Something is going on with Phil.”
“Nothing is going on and the subject is—”
“I’m not gonna try to be vulgar but how am Phil and I going to have sex and fulfill the bond if he can’t breath just from standing up too fast?”
Alpha Lester suddenly stood and towered over me, “The subject is over and we’re done discussing it.”
His booming voice terrified me and I jumped up from the couch, rushing out of the room as I heard the sounds of a clearly upset Omega. My heart hurt from hearing it and I rushed up to Phil’s room where I saw he was still sleeping. My distress must have woke him up because he suddenly sat up and opened his arms, “Oh, my Omega, come here!” he commanded and I immediately crawled across the bed and enveloped myself in his arms.
“I’m sorry,” I said softly, “I’m just upset but I think being here is already relaxing me.”
“What are you upset about?” he asked and I sighed.
“A lot.”
“Want to tell me?”
I shrugged in his arms, “I don’t know if it’s my place.”
He kissed the top of my head and the feeling made my body visibly relax. My Alpha was helping me and I loved it.
“Can you try?” he asked softly, “I’m sure you’ll feel better.”
“Well, for starters,” I said, “I got home sick a few days ago and that’s still washing over me.”
“Was your family good to you?”
“The best,” I answered, “I miss them a lot.”
I was beginning to tear up thinking about them now. Have they found my sister a mate yet? Was my sister feeling the heartbreak from me being gone that I’m feeling from them being away from me? Do my parent’s still think about me? Do they miss me?
I sighed into Phil, letting a stray tear rush down my cheek, “I’d miss mine too if I was away from them.”
I snuggled further in to him, “What about your life?” I asked, “I didn’t hear much about you.”
He sighed, and I could feel his chest move below me in a shallow way, “Well, there isn’t much to know really,” he began, “I was my parent’s only because of…” he stopped suddenly, “my parent’s were always really generous to me,” he continued, “I went to the best schools, I go to a great college, and I love them very much for what they’ve done to help me.”
“What were you going to say before?” I asked curiously, “Why didn’t your parent’s have another child?”
He shook his head and I could feel it move against my hair, “That’s irrelevant.” I began to think a little before I responded. Does this have to do with his health? Is this why his dad was so quick to deny it and his mother was so upset at the mention of it?
“Are you okay?” I asked, running my hand over his chest and feeling the slight muscle definition under his shirt.
“I’m great,” he answered slowly, “You’re going to make the best mate.”
I took notice of the subject change but I didn’t acknowledge it.
“I hope I do,” I said softly, “I wanna please you.”
“You already have.”
And suddenly, his hand was running over my stomach again, flatly and gently against my shirt before moving it under. His cold hand touched my skin and I flinched. But then my skin got used to the feeling and I breathed out, really enjoying the touch.
“Why do you keep touching my stomach?” I asked, putting my hand over his.
“Because I keep imagining how amazing you’re going to look with my baby one day.”
I smiled at him, “One day,” I said with a chuckle, “Not any time soon.”
He nipped at my hair line before nuzzling my hair, “Hm…maybe we can change that.”
I moved my head so I could look up at him, “You want me to have your baby soon?”
He nodded, “Preferably.”
“What’s the rush?” I asked gently, not trying to start another argument, “We’re both so young.”
“There are a lot of things that make it why we need a baby soon,” he said gently and with a shallow voice that was suddenly full of emotion, “And I hope I’ll be able to explain that soon.”
I sighed and rested against him, thinking over the thoughts in my head.
I didn’t want a baby yet.
Why did he went a baby already

Superman's Resurrection: A Theory
I’m excited for JL and the many possibilities it affords so i’m taking this opportunity to put some theories about Justice League out there and for this post, like the header above already spoils, is my theory about Superman’s resurrection. I wanna see if i can predict even a little bit, how Zack Snyder will go about it, based on information we already have from Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. So, here i go:
In the comics, Superman comes back to life when Cyborg Superman attacks Metropolis and we’re expecting him to make his grand return in the JL movie, so it goes without saying that any adaptation of his resurrection is usually in times of heavy crisis. Peculiarly, i’m suspecting a few plot points from the comics/animated series to carry over into the big screen for instance, in the comics, he meets Jonathan in the astral plane. Also, before he comes back, his body is stolen by Cadmus, the Eradicator and then by his fortress robot. In BvS, we get a glimpse into a dream sequence of a future Superman that has subjugated the world in Darkseid’s name and then there’s also the warning from Future!Barry about Lois being the "key". But in the present, the death of Superman has happened and now, Apokolips has found Earth, thanks to Lex Luthor and is on it’s way. So this is where one of my theories about the corpse stealing from the comics comes in, because I'm suspecting 2 resurrections in JL, one actual resurrection and a pseudo resurrection. I suspect that the first resurrection that can be powerful enough to clog that hole in his chest would be by Darkseid.
Darkseid Resurrection
There's a number of ways the movie could go about making Darkseid instrumental to Kal's resurrection, thanks to decades of canon. Darkseid has access to the Omega Effect, and his Omega Beams have the power to bring the dead to life and regenerate them. It'll be a simple matter of acquiring Superman's body and then he could bring it back in the way he pleases. In Smallville, Darkseid does exhibit this power over life and death and is the reason Lex finally comes back to life after Oliver kills him, by making a pact to take alternate Lionel Luthor's body on exchange for reviving Lex. The purposes of acquiring Kal's body is also another seed already foreshadowed in the DCEU because a common trait of Darkseid's is he’s always on the lookout for champions that can be brainwashed to serve him, powerful people who’ll betray their race, subjugate their world and act as his enforcers and in that Knightmare future, Superman is already one so here’s how i think everything plays out. I’ve said before that i’ve already made my peace with that dream sequence being real and something that’s meant to be changed ala Flash point, in order for the world to stand a chance against Apokolips’ forces, so i’ll be factoring that possibility into this theory.
Possible Brainwashing and Manipulation
Darkseid has a number of methods to invoke to break someone like Superman, the DCEU can introduce Glorious Godfrey, who in some incarnations, has the power to brainwash people. Alternatively, it could rely on Darkseid's power of mental manipulations but if they're not going with that, they could go for the next best thing, build up Granny Goodness and the Female Furies for a future appearance by having them be the instruments of the brainwashing. So to acquire Supes and make the brainwashing possible, the JL plot synopsis says Parademons are already kidnapping Earth scientists, which is a perfect distraction for the proto-Justice League, who have to also fend off an initial small scale invasion from the site of Superman’s public burial as seen by what may be happening in this gif.
Tumblr media
However, i’m suspecting a little covert force of Parademons will sneak off with his corpse, all the way back in Smallville like multiple people did in the comics. Now, some people will say using evil Supes in JL goes in the opposite or against everything they’ve been doing or it invalidates all of Superman’s struggles but not necessarily, after all, tropes are not bad, only executions can be (I think). Doing something so cruel as to crush people’s hard work, and using someone like Supes to conquer Earth is something Darkseid would do, if he’s not using people as pawns and champions, then he’s not yet being Darkseid. And he has a particularly well documented fixation with Kryptonians. In Superman: The Animated Series, he repeatedly aims for Superman and Earth, he brainwashed Superman in the last episodes and set him loose on Earth. In the story reintroducing Kara Zor-el into the DC Universe after Crisis on Infinite Earths, he tries to capture and brainwash Kara. In the New 52, he captures and brainwashed Superman. So it’s perfectly in character for him to attempt something like this and the buildup to that has already been set through the Knightmare. Plus, Lex made a huge deal about this, the creatures among the stars learning "the god is dead", so Superman factors very much into why they’re coming and in so doing, the possible evil Supes arc already set up can be dealt with. Besides, i don’t think the world will be aware it happened (which i'm guessing is where a lot of concerns will lie), since the initial invasion may be subtle, Supes role could be as secretive as possible and this will most likely be something only the League and Lex know, and could play into a future story line where he’d want to turn public opinion against the League like in he did in the DCAU. So Supes reputation will most likely be safe.
So Superman is trained in Apokoliptian combat (I remember Henry went for martial arts training in preparation for JL and people don’t come back to life experienced in different forms of combat) and is sent to get the invasion underway. But since the proto League is already assembled, things are already happening differently from the events that could have lead to the Knightmare, Bruce isn’t going it alone, he’s upgraded the BvS Batsuit, created the tactical suit, the flying fox and other gadgets we’ll get to know, come November. In his corner, he’s also got Diana, Barry and Victor and would eventually get Arthur, so whatever events that could pose a danger to Lois’ life already has lesser chances of happening. And that way, Lois could live long enough to reach out to Superman when (or should I say "if" seeing as all this is just my crack theory) he inevitably comes back wrong and in so doing would be able to bring him back to his senses and that way, we get the “Lois is the key” arc plot point. If Kal does come back to his senses thanks to the love he and Lois have for each other now that she's survived and Knightmare future's been averted, Darkseid may have no choice but to take back the life he gave him, and that may put him in that near death state he had in the comics.
The Regeneration Matrix
Tumblr media
The pseudo resurrection itself i suspect, will be using things we’ve already seen in MoS and BvS, namely the Genesis Chamber and the Kryptonian Codex. Like Jax-ur tells Zod, it’s still viable even if Kal is dead, and the codex itself is a fossilized ancient Kryptonian skull containing DNA. I believe we’ve already seen the DCEU's version of the regeneration matrix in action in BvS, while the methods of resurrecting Doomsday are vague, it’s clearly something that Kryptonian tech makes possible as seen by the scoutship teaching Lex what to do. It’s very possible that the mutations Doomsday underwent were all deliberate modifications made by Lex, since the Genesis Chamber allows for the manual choosing of desirable Kryptonian traits. The point of using his blood may merely have been an attempt to substitute for the DNA the codex would have provided, which possibly would have caused some of the devolved intelligence and skin discolorations but the other features may have well been part of the intended package.
Tumblr media
So resurrections may possibly be a technology feat Krypton had perfected but outlawed in order to discourage other incidences like "Bertron’s Curse". So with Superman back in a state of near death, it’s a perfect opportunity for the robot in the scoutship to take his body and try to resuscitate it.
Tumblr media
I meant this robot, suspiciously hiding in the Genesis Chamber room and which curiously enough, did not get destroyed or do anything important in BvS, so why was it in so many background scenes? Perhaps foreshadowing for the role it plays in JL like the comics? If questions arise about why it didn’t try to resurrect Supes earlier, it could simply be stated to be due to some secret, hidden prime directive inserted by the Jor-el A.I in MoS before getting deleted, that should Kal die, he should only be resurrected at a time when the world absolutely needed a Superman and with an invasion underway, JL’s the time for the world to need a Superman. This also allows Clark to have that conversation he has with his father’s ghost in the comics before coming back to life, but I hope if this happens, the movie possibly throws some Jor and Lara in there too, they deserve it. And with him placed in the Genesis waters and the codex in him still being viable and providing the genetic jolt or bang to his cells, he’ll be cocooned and regenerated to full health and full life in a way Zod’s corpse wasn’t as Doomsday.
Also, this arc about dying, being brainwashed and breaking free from Darkseid’s control before coming fully back to life, allows Superman to become a special target in Darkseid’s eyes and this can create the enmity they have in the comics in the same way BvS created the enmity that Clark and Lex canonically have between each other. Superman will be that valuable pawn that got away and broke free of his control, something Darkseid hates considering Scott Free did too and Darkseid’s ultimate goal is to purge free will from the universe.

One final mission
Darcy POV
I was super nervous about being alone with him after that dream. And yet here we were, me still in bed and him sitting in the chair beside me.
"So a Dream huh? What was it about?"
"Can't really remember..." I lied.
"C'mon, you told them why cant ya tell me?" He asked with a coy smile.
"I don't know what you're talking about.." I crossed my arms and looked away.
Bucky then looked at something that had been scribbled on a napkin.
"Who's booky?"
"No one important!"
"Sure... anyway how ya feeling?"
"Better, still a little sore but I'll manage. Hey uh do you know who brought me back?"
"No, no I don't." He said
And I have to admit, it disappointed me that it wasn't him...
"Is there anything I can do for you Barnes?" I asked feigning annoyance.
"Yeah I just wanted to thank you for looking out for Steve while I was away..." he spoke softly.
Bucky's POV
I admit I feel ashamed lying to her about bringing her back. But whatever this is, this feeling, it can't go any further. This is a war. And people die everyday, giving their life for their country. I couldn't afford to grow close to someone who might die tomorrow or the next day, or the day after. I can't allow myself to be broken by sentimentality.
This is a war. And there is no guarantee of anyone coming out of this in one piece.
(A/N: A wee bit of foreshadowing)
Whatever this feeling is, there is no room for it in a world full of war. Hence the name World War II.
I had to keep my heart safe and most of all hers.
"Is there anything I can do for you Barnes?" She said sounding annoyed.
"Yeah I just wanted to thank you for looking out for Steve while I was away..." I spoke softly.
"No problem, it was my instincts, and I do care about him too ya know."
"Yeah well, now that I'm back, he doesn't need you anymore. You don't have to worry about him. In fact your better off without either one of us. So you can go back to your pack or your family or whatever you wanna call it, and leave us alone." I said coldly.
I really didn't mean anything I just said, but I have to do what must be done to keep her and everyone else's heart's safe. Hell I may be tough and put on a 'I don't care' act, but in reality I do, damnit! I care to much and that's why I have to distance myself from her.
Darcy's POV
His words hurt like knives and somehow I knew deep down he was right... no one needed me here, no one wants me here either. I'm just a burden to them. And maybe... maybe my mother was right... maybe there's no place for us in the human's world. Maybe we should just stay in the dark, away from society. Away from others. Love only makes us weak in the end. That's what my brother would say isn't it? Especially after Emmogene passed away... he was broken and it took it him a while to even get back on his feet.
Yeah Bucky's right. Maybe I should go back to the pack. But would they even accept me? I mean my mother forbade me to do this and yet what did I do? I did it...
No I'll just go back to being a lone wolf... yeah it's for the best...
"You know what Barnes your right. Just give me a few days and I'll be out of your way..." I said with as much determination as I could muster.
At that he walked out and into the hallway.
I'm starting to doubt myself. Am I really meant to lead the pack? I mean lately I just seem so weak... I... would my father even be proud?
No. He wouldn't. He'd want me to be evil?... right? I just don't know anymore...
-meanwhile in the pack-
"What do you mean you lost her scent?! We've been looking for her for over 3 years! I want my daughter back! My Darcy!" Said Joanne.
"Mom it's gonna be okay I promise." Iris said.
"Don't worry I have my best scouts looking for her!" Said Alexander.
While Darcy was away things progressed. They now had a small society of Shaydes at their disposal. Some had packs and some didn't. They were able to shift all the same. But still the only person who had the power to turn people was Joanne. She had turned some people into Shaydes due to the fact she was getting lonely. She's not selfish. She did give them a choice. A choice to become one of them or to forget ever seeing or learning about Shaydes and go on with their lives. Statistically speaking, 3 out of every 10 humans they encountered, accepted the offer. Some even went off on their own afterwards. Thus beginning a new line of legends for the supposed 'werewolf'.
"Mom I'm getting a signal from Darcy. She's thinking about us! She's somewhere near Germany?!" Iris said in a panic.
"Why would she be there?!" Joanne shouted startling several others around her.
"Your guess is as good as mine" Alexander said.
-back to Darcy-
Darcy was getting out of bed and noticed some clothes sitting on top of a table.
'To Darcy, From Peggy,
Figured you could use some new clothes, try them on!'
Darcy tried them on and they were a perfect fit. She then walked out of the room after taking care of her hygiene.
She then found herself down another hallway when she bumped into Steve.
"Oh hey Darcy, I was just looking for you. We have another mission in a week. Apparently Hydra needs Dr. Zola for something very important. The mission will be in the mountains and we will be boarding a train. Are you fine with that?" Steve said informing her of the upcoming mission.
"Yes." She nodded and headed back to her room. She stay holed up in there until the day of.
—————————————————-
Half a week later-
I was in my room packing my backpack and utility belt.
2 sets of clothes✔️
Soap✔️
Matches ✔️
Food✔️
Money ✔️
And the necessities... ✔️
All set for the journey back to Brooklyn.
I began to break down. God! I'm such a freakin mess! I'm supposed to be an alpha and yet here I am acting like a fucking omega. Omegas are great and all but alphas lead the pack.  And lately I haven't been acting like an alpha. Maybe Ophir got it wrong. Maybe he read my presentation wrong?
Wait! That's it! I didn't start acting like an omega until...
Until I met Bucky... huh...
What the hell is that supposed to mean?! And what does that have to do with my presentation?!
I groaned aloud. Suddenly I heard a knock at the door.
"Come in..." I said siting on the edge of the bed with my elbows on my knees and my hands over my face.
"Darcy are you alright?" Peggy Asked.
"Yeah. No. I.. I don't know anymore!" I said launching my self do that my back was on the bed and I looked like I was about to make a snow angel with blankets.
She giggled. "What's wrong? You know you can talk to me."
"I'm supposed to be an alpha!"
"And?"
"I'm acting like an omega!"
"And that's a bad thing because?"
"Omegas don't lead the pack! Alphas do! My mother will be disappointed and my father, biologically speaking, will be infuriated if it turns out Ophir got my presentation wrong!"
"So what?! Who cares what you father thinks, or your mother as long as your happy that's all that matters."
"I know it's just..." I sighed, "In our culture you could say I'm a princess and the only one next in line for the throne. Only alphas are allowed on the throne. You see where I'm going with this? It's not about me! It's about leading my people into prosperity and success! To keep them safe!"
"Ah now there is the root of the problem. You feel too much pressure on your shoulder, that don't focus on what YOU want, what you need to focus on is yourself. Because if you're not healthy and happy your people won't be either!"
"Wow Peggy, sounds like you should be the leader of the pack, not me!" I laughed.
"No I couldn't besides I'm needed here."
"You're right you are needed here." I said.
"I know..."
"Unlike me, no one needs me here I'm just another burden on someone's shoulders..." I said hoping she couldn't hear me.
"WHAT?! You couldn't be more wrong! We do need you! Why would we send you on a mission if we didn't?!"
"I don't know? To make me feel useful?" I groaned in annoyance as to why I was not being treated like what I am.
A burden on everyone's shoulders.
"I'll do this one last mission okay? Then I'm gone..." I sighed in resignation.

Alpha, Omega, 8-Clocks and Infinity
Tumblr media
Of course, Nonny. This is something I've wanted to address anyway. I'm going to combine it with another concept that jumped out at me from the finale. We've seen it before and I think it goes hand in hand with the 8s.
Let's start with the clocks.
The biggest thing we can say for sure about the clocks around Beth (in Slabtown and at Grady) is that Gimple confirmed they were significant and had meaning. That's a fact. Of course he didn't tell us why or exactly what they mean. I was going to go through and analyze the clocks themselves, but it ended up being it's own sprawling theory, and I don't want this post to be hella long, so I'll analyze the clocks and give you my current theories about them on Monday. For now, just know that there are 3 different clocks that point to 8s (rule of 3s) and then the one that says 7:30. I'll mention that one briefly on Monday as well.
Also, at least two of the three that specifically say 8 (rather than including other numbers) are in the rooms of dead patients at Grady.

So because of that, it always seemed to me that 8 = death. And because Beth "died" in ep 8, that made sense. The clocks were a foreshadow of Coda. As I always say, I do believe Beth really did die for a short time in Coda, but her heart restarted (resurrection theme) so she simply didn't remain dead.
I won't pretend I ever thought anything but that the clocks meant Coda. It never occurred to me that they might show when she would return. Season 7 absolutely made the most sense to me for two reasons:
1) Morgan and Merle who had the closest parallels in terms of disappearing from the narrative but eventually reuniting with TF were both gone for two-ish seasons.
2) Seven is the biblical number for perfection or completion. As Beth = Christ figure, season 7 was the obvious choice.
But.
Now that we didn't see her in 7, we have to consider the 8 clocks as a foreshadow of her return. Also, consider two other rather compelling things:
1) If she left in S5 and returns in S8, that's 3 seasons. Rule of 3s. A pattern we've seen constantly around Beth.
2) Christ was resurrected after 3 days. Not two.
Want more evidence? Let's talk about the Alpha and Omega theme.
I've talked about this in previous posts (X, X) but I'll reiterate the relevant stuff here. Check out previous posts for more detailed reference.
In Sasha's flashback in the finale, Abraham said something that leapt off the screen for me. "Battlefield to beach. Alpha to omega."
Tumblr media
We'll put aside the first sentence for now and focus on the sentence. It jumped out at me for three reasons. 1) We've heard it before. 2) It's an obvious Christ/biblical reference. 3) Abraham is not particularly given to organized religion or quoting scripture, so it was odd to hear it from him. It had to have been symbolic.
Let's make sure we're all on the same page for what the meaning of alpha and omega are. Alpha is the first letter of the Greek alphabet. Omega is the last. So these are the first and last letters, literally the beginning and the end. But in the Christian bibles, Christ calls himself, "I am Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End, the first and the last." (Revelation 22: 13, KJV) It's a very well-known name/reference to Christ. One he gives himself.
When did we hear it before in TWD? Season 6.
In 6x13, Maggie and Carol are taken prisoner by Paula and a group of Saviors. What follows in that episode is an in-depth retelling of Coda, including the prisoner exchange. It even features a set AMC made sure everyone knew was similar to the set of the horror film, Saw. (**Spoilers for Saw** You know, the film where someone with a gunshot wound stands up at the end of the film and was alive all along, even though the main characters didn't realize it?) Of course Carol and Maggie (a stand in for Beth in the retelling) both survive the situation.

When they're first kidnapped, we see things from Carol's POV, even though she's blind folded. Paula talks to other saviors on the walkie-talkie. Here is the relevant part of the convo:
"Omega, omega, Saviors down. Go to gamma code fire. Alpha channel is not clear. We follow the protocol…switch to theta channel, same code. If I'm not there, toggle to alpha. Listen in."
First let's recognize that Paula and her peeps didn't have to use the Greek alphabet here. Some people do for walkie-speak, but I've heard people use English numbers just as often. It could just as easily have been, "Channel one is down. Go to channel 3, code fire…" It would have made the same amount of sense. This was a very purposeful choice on the writers' parts.
So we have the alpha and omega mentioned. Only two other Greek numbers are mentioned here. Want to guess what they are? Eh? Eh? Gamma = 3. (Rule of threes.) Theta… = 8. Yup, that's right, folks. When I first analyzed this episode last year, I said a few things. Check out THIS POST for all of them.

Do you notice that the numerical value for omega is 8? Which means the "ending" is 8? I think it shows that we'll finally get the fulfillment or ending (second ending or coda) to Beth's arc in S8. (Which is perhaps what the clocks were trying to tell us all along.)
"Alpha channel is not clear…switch to theta channel, same code." The way I see it, Alpha = Beth's original story line (in S6). It's totally unclear, unexplained, terrible ending, etc. Notice in the above pic, theta deals with the passage of time. So saying switch to theta channel suggests switching to an alternate ending/timeline…in season 8. See what I mean?
And as I said before, this is a fitting way to end Sasha and Abraham’s story line. It also shows the end of an overall story arc, as Gimple told us before the finale aired. Season 8 starts something new, after the omega reference. Now comes season 8 (theta) with all the clocks and everything else. The pieces just fit REALLY well.
And what's that got to do with the 8 clocks?
Well, aside from the obvious number 8, there's also the infinity idea. Infinity is a Christian concept (plenty of other religions use it as well, of course). And the symbol for infinity (Alpha and Omega) looks a whole lot like an 8 lying on its side.
Tumblr media
Obviously Gimple didn't invent the infinity sign or anything, but once he'd planned his story arc and knew Beth would be returning in S8, this became very convenient for him. Rather than just using 8s all the time, he could use Greek letters (Alpha and Omega) to point toward infinity, which reinforces the Christ symbolism and at the same time is another, unique way to point toward S8.
So if we're right about this, it means the signs were there all along. We just had to learn how to read them.

Hope this helps, Nonny! Have a fantastic weekend! ;D
***P.S. I’ll be posting a schedule for the re-watch in an hour or so. Watch for it!***
