Since the TADC premiere is less than a week away, I would like to intruduce ya'll to my tadc oc (please click on the images for better quality)

The show's own little artist, Doodlebug! With their Creative wit and endless canvas she'll whip up whatever your heart desires and put it on paper! But please, be polite to her otherwise she'll teach you manners herself.

They're a humanoid creature made entirely from digital paint, their personality described as eccentric, passionate, dramatic and thoughtful, as well as fastidious, brutally honest and slightly detached from reality.

They tend to travel in a floating MsPaint window that they supposedly "came" from.

The inside of it is an empty white room where she can paint whatever she wants. She can't leave things in there though, otherwise they will be flattened into the walls. They can leave the window but can't walk away to far from it, or else I'll dissapear. They can make it respawn tho.

Their abilities include:

Turning into fluid and regaining Shape on command (like I said, they're made of paint)

The hue of their paints changing depending on their mood

Stretching their limbs and using their pony tail as a detachable Pen/paint brush

That's all! I'll probably post more about them but not much more info, since I wanna wait until the show actually comes out. After that, I'll give a detailed explanation of their relationship with the other humans and how long they've been in the circus. Thank you for reading, Adieu to you!

My main points are

1) Mysterion is a foil to Prof Chaos in the sense that while Chaos exists because Butters felt like no one loved him NOR treated him decently, his actions and his pain (often caused by his loyalty to others) seriously

Mysterion in similar ways, we don't see Kenny creating Mys but from his character development in the (ra)Coon trilogy we actually see Kenny reaching the same "point" Chaos does

Just like Butters, Kenny wants his pain to be understood and his actions to have an impact, he wants his friends to remember he dies, every day, FOR THEM, that's why he kills himself in front of them 3 TIMES telling them to remember for once, and then he sounds so defeated when the next day they appear and don't say a thing about it, no matter what he does, the people around him won't validate his suffering and give a him a shoulder to cry on, he is cursed to be ignored forever

AND CHAOS IS THE SAME but while Kenny is realistic and know this can't be blamed on anyone and cannot escape his fate, Chaos exists to tell Butters the opposite, he can fight all this, that one day everyone will scream in fear to his sight and see him as the powerful being he truly wants to be

AND speaking of powers it's fundamental to say Kenny is the only human kid in school with superpowers, a set of superpowers he hates and make his life a living hell, his friends only comment on how cool that is accidentally offending Kenny, they cannot even imagine how it feels to be him, he can use these powers for the good cause all his wants but nothing can cancel he wants to be free from it, J2C's PK video say Kenny wants to be the "little one" sometimes and it really drives the point how much Kenny, even as Mysterion aka "strongest form" want to be treated like the kid he is

CONTRAST WITH BUTTERS WHO WANTS THE OPPOSITE FROM HIS VILLAIN PERSONA, he wants to be as someone who is just as evil and ruthless as everyone else can be! He wants to be the BIG guy for once, he's tired to being the "little one" because that only makes him a victim, something to be preyed on and abused, it sucks, Mysterion sees the "little ones" (like his siblings, and arguably himself and his friends) as people worth protecting and keeping safe, Chaos and Mysterion use these personas as way to cope with the almost total lack of agency in their lives, but in extremely drastically different ways, ironically Butters keeps being an idealist, believing that if he tries really hard he can bring destruction anywhere and make this "nightmare" come true (well looking at PC, he's right lol he just hasn't found what NFT are yet) while Kenny remains grounded and starts with the "small things", with his "small" goal to protect his city and its more innocent citizens like her sister and keeping to make her smile, it's about contrast it's about chosing to be the villain or the hero based on how you process your pain and who do you blame for it i'm putting them into my mouth

there is a certain subset of queer identities—aromanticism and asexuality and their related spectrums of identities perhaps being chief among them, at least if we're talking about widely used umbrella-type labels—that the larger queer community, by and large, views as secondary or auxiliary identities that don't warrant the same... real estate, i guess, as "regular" queer identities.

i'm not interested in playing the identity politics "who is oppressed the most/more deserving of attention?" because (a) it's irrelevant and (b) i'm a white american so i REALLY don't have a horse in that particular race. what i AM interested in is the apparent bias that many people have against aspec identities and the fact that the overwhelming majority of people seem to view aspec identities as "lesser" queer identities.

i'm not talking about, like, current legislative battles or things like that (see previous paragraph). i'm talking about the frankly patronizing way that aspecs get treated when we try to talk about literally anything that affects us. you call someone out for an aphobic comment and you get accused of "making it about you" or you get told something that boils down to "well i'm a REAL gay so i can say what i want and your feelings don't matter." even in a less insidious sense, other queer people have often spoken to me like i don't Get It because i'm not REALLY queer. it's like being told to go sit at the little kids' table while the adults are talking. it's frankly insulting to try to talk about something and have your inbox flooded with a dozen people all telling you that YOUR problems are less important and no one cares and we have to deal with "real" queer people's problems first and then we can deal with you and your silly complaints.

again, it's not a contest. but i've had people i love say things like "queer women" in front of me and know they mean wlw (shoutout to straight trans people by the way, this is one of our common struggles 🤝), and when corrected people stumble over themselves to avoid saying they only meant REAL queer people. even if they don't realize it. they see aromanticism and asexuality as lesser forms of queerness that don't need to be mentioned unless the situation specifically calls for it. "queer" by default to a lot of people means a very specific thing. and it shouldn't. because that defeats the whole point of the word as a community term.

what do you think duck’s stance on love is?

Long story short, I think his perspective on it is insanely warped.

Short story long, I think he really really wants to love the other two, but is so insanely clueless on how to. I think my good friend Bear worded it once as “I don't think he's capable of providing much but he is absolutely going to force the others to let him try.”

I think that’s very apt.

But okay! Let’s get into it!

First things first we need to establish about my favorite little guy in the universe is that love is something that’s very important to him. He is the only one of the three who mentions love outside of it’s allotted episode. Once in the interview,

And twice in his song in family (which trust me we will GET TO)

It’s something that he obviously thinks about and is obviously important to him. I think if you want to get real nitty gritty you can even pick apart his individual lines in the Family song and see through his first line I’ve highlighted here as a definite facade, because in the second highlighted line he goes right back into what we got established about him in the (debatably canon) interview which is that not only does he want to love, but he wants that love to be reciprocated. To love and be loved in turn. Pretty easy goal right? Most people have that.

It’s how he goes about attaining this goal that I think makes him totally balls to the wall nuts. And to talk about how he attains this goal we NEED to talk about:

His Relationship with the Other Main Guys Around.

Now, if you read and really listen to what I have to say about this guy, you will often hear me saying that he makes a lot of assumptions and especially in regards to feelings. I have touched on it previously in this post. And with all things I say, I don’t say this without reason + evidence.

I think he does this fun little horrible thing where he assumes that HOWEVER he feels about the other two is the way they feel about him. Unquestionably reciprocated. I think this because of two scenes in particular, the Best Friend Debate at his funeral and his insistence that they are a family in Family.

Now, let’s break down these two scenes and I’ll highlight the bits I think are the most important to my point.

BFD (Best Friend Debate) is a classic, everyone knows it by heart, but the point I want to focus on here is these few lines-

Here we see Duck make an assumption about the nature of his relationship with Red Guy, namely, that it’s much closer than it actually is. Duck feels that they’re best friends, so surely the other party MUST feel the same way. When RG pushes back against this assumption and doesn’t respond the way Duck would like, instead of backing down or trying to realize that maybe he was mistaken, Duck pushes it further.

It does not matter if Red Guy doesn’t think they’re best friends. Duck thinks they are and so that is the truth. In his crazy little head, at least. Anyways, pay attention to this next bit, because it’ll crop up again, RG pushes further, emphasizing that he DOES NOT feel the same way and instead of accepting it…

Duck digs his heels in further and starts coming up with reasons. Here being, well you have to be my best friend, I’m leaving you my things, I wouldn’t do that if we weren’t close!

It is a little bit pathetic. And it gets pathetic-er!

Onto the scene in Family. It runs pretty similarly! Duck makes an assumption about his relationship with the other two, in this episode, it’s that they are a family.

The other parties involved in this assumption reject it. His immediate response to ‘No we aren’t.’ is “Yes we are!”.

Then he begins his reasoning….

And it goes on.

For the rest of the episode.

Just near-constant trying to justify his assumption and give reasons why they ARE a family and fit Lily and Todneys weird criteria (most notably trying desperately to emulate the Family Meeting) , no matter what the other two had to say. And he continues this weird bargaining (that is NOT working btw) until he is forcibly,physically removed from the other two.

That is the ONLY thing that gets him to stop. And even then all he does after is just sing his sad little song that just keeps emphasizing scenes of him with the other two, where the other two just fade away and he’s alone.

So! To establish what we know so far:

Duck wants to love and be loved in return.

Duck assumes the other two love him the same way he loves them.

When the other two object, or say they don’t, his immediate response is they they do, actually!

When that doesn’t work, he starts looking for evidence/justifications for why the other two are wrong.

WHICH IS A HORRIBLE CRAZY TWISTED VIEW ON LOVE. Like you cannot just ‘yuh huh’ someone into feeling the same way about you that you feel about them. You cannot just force these square pegs into these triangle holes!!

And all that’s not even GETTING into how weirdly obsessed he is with the other two, how I think that fuels his relationship with the house/their world and the weird complacency that plays into that.

got some sketches of the band au

Note: these are not final, design's are likely going to change when i eventually clean them up. they all technically have 2 outfits (onstage n offstage) these are just the onstage fits

idk what to make the tag for this au tbh "kinitopet band au" seems kinda boring... ANYWAYS! Have a terrible overview of the concept so far. n the band members too ig

Meet the KinitoBAND (placeholder name while i think, i'm open to suggestions though). They're a rather niche yet beloved band who play a multitude of different genres. all of their songs have a rather upbeat nature, or, they used to. lately they've been leaning more into rock and sometimes it just gets a little... strange... wonder why that is? they're actually more like vocaloids(???) that are programmed like Kinito with the react response algorithm (Kinito's i more advanced, but they've all got it) so if they ever did interact it'd be alright. the programmer (Sonny C) had initially only meant for there to be a vocalist but there was a decision somewhere to make a band (so there's a drummer and a guitarist too)

Let's get into the characters

Kinito The vocalist + tech Kinito is a fan-favourite, to be expected of the one who is always in view front 'n center. personality-wise he's similar to his canon counterpart, just a bit (emphasis on bit) more chill. i've imagined him to get a little... parasocial with his fans who probably just went for the music. he has a bit of a persona on stage, you could say. he's more energetic and in general might be a little more aggressive than usual, especially lately.

Sam The drummer Sam isn't quite as popular as Kinito, but he's got quite a few fans who might not gravitate towards Kinito like almost all the promotional material wants you to or people who like the drums. personality - Sam has a calm, almost 'cool guy' demeanor. he acts relitivley the same on and off stage. Jade the guitarist Jade, unfortunately, is the least popular member of the band. She's got a couple devoted fans, but noticeably less than the others. just as intended. personality- she's quite resourceful and the most upfront about things of the band. she's generally louder than the others, not on purpose, she's just not the best at maintain a good speaking volume.

Fic-to-Art #39: Gladiator's ELEVENTH Anniversary! (+ BONUS: Fic-to-Art #36...)

And here we are! March 26th arrived and I did not forget about it, but I paid for my ambitious madness with my wrist and forearm. Somehow, I finished my intended pieces on time, but I do not advise that you ever try to make 9 artworks in 3 days. No, sir. Bad life decisions, that's what that was... but this fic, as anyone knows, moves me to do things I never thought possible, starting with writing the fic itself!

It's really crazy every time it hits me that I've been doing this for as long as I have. It's been a complicated, chaotic journey, with its many ups and downs, but ultimately, it has been our journey. For some people, this is just one more fic in the pile: for me, it's been the best adventure of my life so far. Everyone who has ever been touched by Gladiator, who has ever cherished this story, who's looking forward to the big conclusion, who wants to see how the chaotic war is going to end... you're all part of this crazy adventure along with me, and I can only thank you for joining me.

This year, I had no time to make as big a project as I usually go for. Thus, I did a sort of free-for-all edition of Fic-to-Art over at Patreon and challenged myself to draw as many scenes as I could, out of their suggestions. I even sprinkled in a few scenes I impulsively wanted to draw because I loved writing them or because I look forward to writing them... and this is the result!

In order, the scenes are as follow:

Sokka combing Azula's hair, a common occurrence throughout the story.

Azula watching over a convalescing Sokka in the Chase of Jeong Jeong arc.

The outcome of Sokka's final battle in the Superior Gladiator League, namely a moment where Sokka and Azula more or less gave away their relationship's true nature to the public by raising their hands towards each other...

And the big final one is ACTUALLY Fic-to-Art #36 but hahaha woops I didn't post it here on time because it was super hard to finish since I had a LOT of things going on... but here it is now! :'D it's a glimpse VERY far into the future of this fic's timeline!

Alright, that should be enough talking and explaining. Some things are vague, some things aren't, but ultimately I really hope you guys will be looking forward to the scenes you haven't seen yet, and to Gladiator's eventual outcome.

So now... with all this being said and done, I'm gonna go take a trip down memory lane and watch my Tenth Anniversary video once more! Feel free to do the same thing if you'd like to commemorate the fic, I think it's a good way to experience Gladiator all over again, hahaha.

I swear I have read your big post regarding Peter Parker's neurodivergence and why it is best to avoid labelling him, but he definitely has a weird brain

i know exactly which post you're talking about and i can't find it either! i've raked through my archive, and it's just - nowhere to be seen. i think tumblr eated it (it happens.)

really, tumblr's search functionality is so so useless, i don't know what to tell you. there are plenty of keywords i can search to find it that post, but the search functionality actually just does not work!

undiagnosed audhd-addled peter parker, my darling, my light, my life, my everything.

i think peter parker's such an interesting creature to write, because a lot of people will point to a certain behaviour about him and say "this is an autistic thing, right?" but a lot of those behaviours are actually, in my head, tied to certain traumas in peter's life too.

people say "oh, the food thing, peter's a picky eater because he's autistic" and yes, absolutely. but also it's tied to his trauma with his parents.

peter gets overstimulated, and yes, it's an autism thing, but also he was bitten by a radioactive spider and his senses are dialled to 11.

it's a similar case i've found for myself, too – where a lot of friends i have kind of diagnose me because i have autistic traits, but actually - i'm hesitant to claim the label or pursue diagnosis because, actually, i know where these certain behaviours come from, and they come from certain traumas. there are events i can pinpoint in my life and say "yep. that's where this behaviour comes from."

so - i think there's a lot of overlap between trauma and autistic traits. the brain is very complex! i think the reason for that overlap is maybe as simple as the fact that people with autism and people with trauma are both doing the same thing - developing behaviours to protect themselves or soothe themselves. so - i think it's nice to be able to see a character like peter parker, who may or may not be autistic, but recognise behaviours in him and see yourself in him.

people who go undiagnosed for whatever reason - people who are really good at masking - so good, in fact, that they have no idea they might be on the spectrum - everyone and anyone at all can look at peter parker and recognise themselves. because i think we discredit the thought that every single brain does the same thing! develops certain behaviours in order to survive. every brain has that same software - we've just all been faced with different hardships that we need to overcome, and that's were all the differences come in.

autism is a spectrum, i guess - everyone falls into it to some degree. and i think events in your life probably push you along on it. but i don't know, i didn't study brain science. probably what i'm saying is very stupid and uninformed. of course there's brain chemistry involved. but i know people in my life living with autism and certain events in their life have exacerbated certain behaviours or made coping with it a lot more difficult. so maybe trauma is a catalyst.

#a lot of my traits have been exacerbated lately and i remember it was much easier for me before #and some of my friends have said “oh it's because you've been masking too long and now you're facing autistic burnout.”#and that made sense to me i think.#but then i found out about the stress thing. me overproducing stress hormone. and that's a very physical thing.#and that explains why i've been overstimulated more than usual lately. and why everything feels like too much.#and i wonder how many of these traits of mine are going to subside once i have lamar removed #and it makes me wonder a lot of things. and it's so weird how much your brain is tied to your biology.#i wonder how much i'll change. i wonder how i'll feel. i wonder if i'll still feel like me. i wonder how much me is me right now.#and how much of me is being altered by weird freaky hormones. who am i?? who will i be??#i'm almost looking at this as like. a superhero origin story of some sort. like this is my spider-bite moment. maybe.#will i be different? will i cope with things differently?? now that my body isn't fighting something anymore??#maybe i'll be normal. i don't know. i don't know.#i don't know what it'll mean for me.#but all of these things mean i relate to peter parker in a certain kind of way #i don't think you have to be diagnosed with autism to recognise and empathise with those traits i think #i think everyone can see themselves in peter. and i think that's the benefit of having characters that aren't diagnosed.#because there's so much overlap in the human experience. and certain feelings aren't exclusive to just one group of people.#peter has such a rich identity actually. it's an autistic thing. it's a queer thing. it's a jewish thing. it's a trauma thing.#there are so many overlapping parts of peter's identity that inform who he is and how he behaves and it's never just one thing.#it's a product of all of his things.#just like me! just like everyone.#so me? i guess i can be a million things. you can explain what i am in a million different ways.#a hundred different psychologists can all come up with different ways to explain why i be the way i be.#i don't think it's something that can be simplified.#sorry wow. i'm really going off here in the tags.#i hope people don't think i'm stupid. i don't know brain science. i'm just philosophising as usual.#sci speaks

hello! I have a Question about masking. when should we wear a mask? is it only when we feel sick or is it always? is it inside or outside too? if ur vaccinated but were told to only wear when sick is that bad? literally almost no on in any area around me in my state wears one except when sick and I feel unsure what to do. genuinely everywhere I go there’s close to no one. I feel afraid to wear one all the time bc judgement. but what do we need to do? I’m disabled and disability justice is important to me but since no one else wears one my friends do not think it’s needed and thinks comfort matters more bc it’s very humid here. I feel like wearing one is the right thing to do, but idk how to explain that to others or to start again and shake the fear. ppl assume ur sick when u wear bc that’s what we’re taught is the right time to. /gen

Genuinely, ty for trusting me to answer this. If you're outside or inside a public area, or inside with people who don't mask, it's best to be wearing a mask. Even when you don't feel sick! Not only can you have covid without feeling sick, but you can also carry lots of viruses without feeling sick and so can others. (Also other people don't always tell you when they're feeling sick unfortunately.)

As for the question about vaccinations, yeah, that's bad. You were lied to. People who're vaccinated can still spread covid without feeling sick and can still catch it and get long covid or die. All the vaccine does is make you a little safer if you catch it, it doesn't replace masking.

Masking is very scarce in a lot of places, so I understand that. In my area so many people don't mask and it's scary! I also understand being scared of judgement; especially from family and friends. But you're right, masking is the right thing to do and disability justice is important. And masking is especially important if you're already disabled; you're higher risk for covid fucking you up (by giving you long covid or generally worsening your disabilities/giving you more).

Since I've already explained WHEN you should be masking (if you have more questions, ask, I don't mind at all.), lemme see if I can help you out with the rest. To shake the fear, I'd suggest starting wearing your mask when you're alone to get used to wearing it more. You'll probably have to bite it and do it afraid anyway, because its a pandemic and masking is a necessity (if you can), but you can still get ready first.

To explain it to your friends, put it simply. "I discovered the vaccine doesn't replace masking, so I'm being safe." or "I realized masking keeps all of us safer during the pandemic, especially disabled people, so I'm going to keep doing it."

They may argue with you, especially since they may feel bad for not masking. You don't have to argue back with them. You can offer to send them articles about it or explain your thoughts but you don't have to justify masking!

It's brutal news, especially with Primo having been his biggest anchor since his very first days in the Ministry.

Dewdrop's words will stick - as the head of security, he should have known, should have done something, should have stuck with them every single minute just in case, he thinks. Doesn't matter that the very top of the Church made sure no word got out until the deed was done. Made sure nobody who would try to stop things would be around.

Also, ever wondered why Dewdrop's horn fell off on-stage one time? Yeah, that's why :] It held on a while but had to break eventually after sustaining so much damage and suffering Dewdrop's headbanging and jumping around during shows.

i was wondering if you could write the 141 with an s/o who is hard of hearing and reader wears hearing aids?

I’m gonna be honest with you, anon, I don’t know what to write for this since it will be the same in almost all cases.

Aside from Soap, none of the lads would even touch your hearing aid. Sure, Price, Gaz and Ghost will look at it from afar and point you towards it if you’re looking for it, but that’s about it. They’re well aware how expensive something like that can be, so they’d rather not be the cause for it getting broken. However, they are more than willing to buy whatever necessity you need for it to keep it properly maintained. There will always be some cotton swabs and some filters at home so you can keep your hearing aid clean. Since you’re hard of hearing, there’s a chance you might know sign language as well. There’s also a chance that one of the three of them would know BSL. Whether or not that helps in any way shape or form I’m not sure, but if you know ASL instead of BSL then they’re more than happy to learn that for you as well. As long as they get to communicate with you, they’re happy. Besides, it’s more efficient than always writing notes anyone can see. Soap would be the only one who would touch your hearing aid, as long as you allow it. But even then he’d only really do it to take a good look at it, so it’s not like it would happen very often either. I don’t think he knows sign language, but if you really insist then he’d be more than happy to learn for you as well. It does sort of feel like a secret language to him since not too many people know it, which makes it a bit cooler to him. But other than that, they are more than happy to repeat what they’ve said so you can properly understand them as many times as you need, giving you as much time as you need to make sense of their words as well. If you’re more inclined to read lips, then they’ll make sure you can see their lips always, aside from Ghost who does prefer to have his face hidden to some degree. In that case, Ghost will simply write down what he wants to say, if you don’t know sign language. If you do, then he’ll just sign it to you. If you pull the stunt where you turn off your hearing aid so you can ignore them properly then they will, for the most part, respect you, albeit a bit mad. Soap and Gaz might become more touchy and annoying though. Close your eyes so you can’t see them frantically signing at you and you’ll be left alone for a whole five minutes before they wrestle you onto the couch and make you look at whatever it is you need to see. They will not tolerate being ignored like this.

I like Magolor a lot, but he is omniscient? That's news to me. Is there a source for that? :O Unless you're talking about that Magoverse trend I saw floating around a while back- I didn't see much but what I did encounter reminded me of all the different Sans Undertale AUs out there. Hehehe Magolor is quite versatile! What fun.

And I know people use Nova as an expletive when writing Kirby characters! It's cool!

I use profanity in real life but I personally try to not associate Kirby characters with it in the works I make. I want to diversify the vernacular of the citizens of Popstar so I made a small list of expletives I thought of, lol. They should have a variety of things to yell out when they stub their feet or an apple falls on their head! So I get randomly inspired out in the world and I make sure to write them down!

I remember seeing someone have the characters use expletives based on food, like for example, "For the love of shortcake!" or things like that. That idea's fun!! (If you are the person who had this headcanon and are reading this please tell me so I can credit you for it!)

Does anyone else have expletives/exclamations they write for Kirby characters? Please share them if you do heehee. It makes the world building feel more fleshed out and creative >:3
