You hop out of Billy’s Camaro, you were met by the nauseating briny smell of the beach in Malibu. The sound of the waves that some find relaxing and comforting makes you anxious. Billy decided to take you out on a trip back in California and go to the beach first. But the problem is: you’re terrified of oceans - not because you didn't know how to swim hell, you’d often go to the community pool with Billy at night back in Hawkins; it was how big and deep the ocean is, how the waves are strong enough to pull you and frightening things that could be swimming in those large bodies of water. You didn't want to tell Billy your fear of oceans, you didn't want to disappoint him because he’s just so excited about taking you to his hometown and to one of his favorite places in the world: the beach.
You both found a perfect spot to put down your towels and other necessities. Billy opens the huge umbrella as you arrange your things on the lounge chair. He grabs the sunscreen, applying some on his body and you do the same. He quickly takes off his slippers and hold his hand out to you, his eyes lightening up in enthusiasm, “let’s go!”.
You gulp and hesitate to take his hand, palpitating and body trembling a little. Billy’s smile drops, “baby you alright?” he asks, concerned. “I uh, I-I, I’m scared of the ocean” you struggle to say. “I’m sorry” you add as you look away.
He intertwines his fingers to yours and pull you closer, “don’t be sorry, it’s okay. Come on I’ll hold you and we’ll immediately stop if you can’t handle it, I promise”.
“Okay, I’ll give it a try” you reply. His smile comes back and brings you both to the water.
・°☆
“It’s all good right?” Billy says, his hand never leaving yours. Your nerves have calmed down a bit and you have finally walked farther into the ocean, the salty water on your waist level. I’m starting to enjoy this you smile to yourself and look at Billy, you give him a thumbs up. “Wanna go farther?” he asks. You pause for a while, fear creeping up your body once more. “I can carry you” he suggests, you nod in response.
“Okay, come here” Billy pulls you into him and brings your hand on his shoulder. You wrap your arms around his neck and your legs around his torso, your breathing becomes steady as you find comfort from the contact. He has a firm hold on you and walks farther, the water’s now up in the middle of your chests. Your bodies suddenly moves as the wave pulls you both, causing you to grip on Billy.
“Hey, don’t worry. I got you” he reassures.
A few moments have passed and you start to laugh with Billy whenever he makes you both jump over the waves coming to you. You were still clinging unto him and he refuses to let you go. Your fright now long forgotten, you glance at Billy place a quick peck on his cheek that’s now salty from the water. He looks back at you, “what’s that for?”
“Just wanted to show my gratitude” you shrug. “Thanks for helping me overcome my fear of oceans Billy”

mer! Fort Max and Red Alert trying to befriend a gn human diver? Poor Fortmax doesn’t understand that his size is a little intimidating when reader clings to Red Alert </3 can be platonic or romantic, either will be great :) happy mermay!
I left it up to interpretation as to whether or not this fic is romantic or platonic, sorry for it being so late :]
Warnings: none, just some underwater stuff.
Normally, the two mers would have no interest on humankind. The two legs just were of no consequence to Fortress Maximus and Red Alert. Besides, the two of them were on a very important security patrol!
But all that changed when he saw you. With bubbles rising periodically from the mask on your face. Unfamiliar metal cylinders on your back and fake fins waving in your wake. He watched for awhile, from below. Where he was out of sight. He was glad to see a peaceful diver like yourself. In fact, most divers were good people. He’d seen teams of two legs pick up trash before, or playfully study the fish in the water. Fortress Maximus had to admit, he thought it was cute.
Unfortunately, his lazing around had caught the ever attentive Red Alert’s attention.
“Maximus…” He said in a low tone. It was a warning, one that Fortress Maximus chose to ignore. The large mer swims upwards from the depths, his huge body surging towards the human.
You were minding your own business, not doing anything in particular on this dive, when you felt a disturbance in the water. You couldn’t swim fast enough to get away from the rising sea monster, with red eyes and massive clawed hands. If horror movies were real you were pretty sure you were in one.
As a diver you’re trained not to panic, however whatever training you had is left behind as you thrash in the beasts arms. Desperately trying to get away. Amidst the chaos your mouthpiece comes off. You desperately try to grab it while also kicking your fins off in an attempt to distract the sea creature that was holding your hips securely. This was it. One bad dive and a crazy sea creature later, you’d be in the obituary tomorrow.
Gentle hands grab your sides and pull you away from the two larger ones. Red and white flashes in your fading vision as you feel your mouthpieces come in contact with your face again. You grab it and suck in the much needed oxygen and take a couple deep, calming breaths. The strange, smooth creature holds you. Keeping you still and afloat. It squeals and clicks at you like a dolphin would. It wasn’t a dolphin, your vision returns and you see a face looking back at you. Two pretty blue eyes underneath the water and a red and white colour scheme. An unnatural sense of calm washes over you and the soft white underbelly of this sea creature seems like the perfect place to rest after almost losing consciousness.
“You scared them.”
“I didn’t mean to-!”
“Maximus.” The red mer sighs, giving the human a protective hug in his arms. The rhythmic bubbles telling both of the underwater inhabitants you were alright. “You have to let the humans come to you.” Red Alert understood your fear, he knew what panic was like when disturbed suddenly. The larger mer frowns, backing up just slightly so that the ocean framed his giant form. Nearly three or four times the size of you, the mer was no threat. In fact, his expression seemed to be that of a kicked puppy. A massive, great beast of a sad dog, but a wet beast nonetheless.
“Let them come to you.” Red unfurls his protective fins. Leaving you to tread water. For a second, you think of just swimming away. However it piques your interest that they give you a choice. You look once again at the dim luminescence of the red eyes, slowly paddling your way over to them.
Fortress Maximus twitches, wanting to raise his hand for you to grasp but scared of hurting you at the same time. He knows he’s big and scary. So instead, he tilts his head down for you to make contact. You touch the large fins on his head and are met with a full body shiver from the larger mer. It gives you confidence that such a little action could garner such an intense reaction from the giant.
“Told you.” Red Alert is smirking and Fortress Maximus hates that she’s right. “Just let the two leg explore.”
Fort Max grunts as you make your way down to his face, to you, his sweet and low whale song was mesmerizing. Perhaps less so if you understood the cuss word he called Red Alert.
“Easier said than done.”

Hi, haven't been by in a while, vore brain went dormant for a while ♠️
Idea where Gordn is working at a facility where they say they have a mer captured. Said mer is of course Ben.
They do the usual "Gord sees mer Ben, feels sorry to see such a majestic creature in captivity, vows to help him escape" type plot. Except when Gordn gets this scrawny mer to the ocean and puts him in, Ben Changes.
He seems to rejuvenate, his dark scales illuminate with hidden lines of bioluminescent spots, his seemingly withered fins restore and fan out.
He also abruptly grows in size. He used to be smaller than Gordn, and looked so sickly. Now he's huge, and fully revitalized. (Cant decide if he stays relatively humanoid, or if he starts shifting towards your Deep Ben design. Never was a mer, but a restrained eldritch)
Gord is staring at him in awe when they both hear security or soldiers coming their way. Gord had planned to hop onto a small boat nearby and making his own escape, but Ben has other ideas. One hand, now big enough to wrap fully around his rescuer's torso with ease, emerges from the water and snatches Grdn up as gently as possible. He can't say much, he doesn't want to give away their location, but when Gord cries out, suddenly alarmed and wondering if releasing the captive mer was a good idea, he tries to comfort him with a small dose of blue voice. Gordn has only a moment to be mesmerized by the light, and then it dissipates, revealing the rapidly approaching maw of the entity he tried so hard to save. He can't bring himself to fight or cry out, subdued by the blue as he is. He's helpless as those jaws close on him, surprisingly careful, and he's pulled in and swallowed.
Ben hurriedly nestles the confused and frightened human safe away deep inside, curled up in a pouch with an air supply, then heads for open water, eager to escape his captors reach. It won't be the end of their troubles, he knows. Gordn will have to go back to land sooner or later, once the search for Ben has died down a little. But Ben will happily keep his kind, brave little human within, sustained and protected by Bens own body. It's the least he could do, Ben thinks as he cuddles at the weakly squirming form inside. Girdn seems frightened, but Ben projects reassurance, alongside happiness and gratitude. He would never harm him, his favorite little human.
Gord was still uncertain, having been swallowed whole by a giant sea monster(?) But despite his anxious squirming, he was growing more and more hopeful of his situation. He hadn't been chomped, he wasn't dumped in acid, and the air in his little holding pouch had yet to go stale and suffocating. He had hoped and prayed that it meant his holder didn't intend to hurt him. Maybe he was wrong, maybe this being had been deceiving him all along, and that facility had imprisoned it for valid reasons...
An odd call echoed around him, sounding almost delighted. Gleeful. He felt gravity shift around him as the giant mer(?) presumably dove and swooped through the water, reveling in this newfound freedom. Gordn flailed a little as he was thrown, and he tried to readjust. The movement lessened, and a deep, happy croon rumbled through his entire body as the creature suddenly pressed in around him. He couldn’t suppress a yelp of alarm, worried at the loss of space, and potentially air. The walls squeezed him firmly, kneading him and curling him up further. Dozens of fears darted through Gordns mind, worries of being crushed, suffocated, or trapped forever, but all those fears were soothed by a wave of more strange light, and a voice echoing from all around.
"Thank you. You helped me. Now I will help you. You are safe with me."
(Ends up similar to the main Deep Ben concept, just that when Gord asks to be let go, Ben only says "not yet, not safe" instead of "nah, I'm keeping you." This Ben knows how it is to be trapped against your will, he would never do that to the guy who risked so much for him)
eyyyyyy welcome back!
and dohohohohohohoho

custom commission for @borrowedblue! just in time for the end of mermay :)
warnings: blood, injury, fear, miscommunication
-
There was blood in the water.
Virgil pressed a hand against his shoulder as he swam, trying to stifle the trickles of red that were pluming out into the ocean around him and dissolving. He’d lost his bag somewhere in the scuffle, which meant that this scavenging trip had been for nothing and he now had nothing to stifle the bleeding with.
He shouldn’t have been bitten at all, but the eel swarm had ambushed him with practiced ease, and even a mer as quick as him hadn’t been able to dodge all of them. He’d gained a lead, but he couldn’t go home as he was now. They’d follow his blood trail for as long as they could, and if any of his neighbors were out and about…
The swarm would have no compunctions about changing targets for a slower meal.
Everything was dark down here, enough so that even Virgil, who wasn’t exactly a shallow-reefs type of mer, could barely make out more than shapes even with his pupils expanded to catch all the light they could. His sonar would have helped, but sending out a signal meant that other creatures could receive that signal. Not a chance.
A low glow caught his eye, and he dove down towards it, easily identifying the source as bioluminescent plants rather than a predator’s lure.
The plants were dotted and undersized at the entrance, but a bit further into the cave, against the back wall, he could see clusters of them growing strong and tall. Mindful of the fact that he had sparse moments before trouble caught up with him, he darted further into the cave, hurriedly gripping the plants at the base and tearing some of the fibers off.
As expected, they worked well enough as makeshift bandages, and he wadded a mass of softer, absorbant roots against the wound as makeshift gauze before wrapping his arm with the glowing fibers. The luminescence would be attention-catching, but if he covered it with his hand, he was sure he would have better luck than if he tried to escape while leaking blood everywhere.
He tied the faux bandages off and plunged his hands into a nearby cluster of plants, scrubbing off as much of the excess blood as he possibly could. If he was lucky, the concentration of bloodscent would distract the swarm here for a good while.
In front of him, the back wall of the cave suddenly lit up with bright, bioluminescent patterns.
Virgil froze, trying to comprehend the change. Had he brushed up against a cluster of coral or something? He’d never seen anything growing on cave walls that had such a distinct pattern, nor one that lit up so rapidly.
The ‘wall’ suddenly shifted back, and Virgil’s heart kicked into overdrive.
The cave was much, much deeper than it had first appeared, and much wider beyond this entrance tunnel-- the tunnel that had apparently been blocked off by the body of the creature before him.
He could only see parts of it as it shifted around, and even those were only lit partially by the plants’ dim radiance: sleek dorsal fins, the glint of sharp claws, and an enormous, ridged tail dotted with those luminescent patterns.
Abruptly, there were two huge, glowing blue eyes in front of him, scanning the tunnel with slit pupils.
Leviathan.
Virgil’s breath had gone still in his chest, frozen in place by the ice running through his veins. He’d heard the rumors about Leviathans, unspeakably massive monsters that lived down in the depths of the ocean, able to achieve impossible feats on a whim, with moods as tumultuous as surface storms.
The creature hadn’t seen him yet, the glow of his bandages helping him blend into the plants around him. It’s face was partially lit by the eerie glow of its eyes, and with how close it was, Virgil could see the twitch of its nose as it inhaled, scenting the water.
He barely kept from whimpering, realizing that his blood had thoroughly saturated the cave by now. If this predator was anything like a shark, he was about to be torn to shreds.
The creature leaned forwards, pupils gradually expanding to see better, and when its mouth drew closer, Virgil could see the mass of razor-sharp fangs that lurked inside. His stillness began to fracture under the force of his fear, and he drew in a tiny, shallow breath.
Those eyes flicked over to lock onto him in an instant.
In the next breath, Virgil was fleeing, past the cave entrance and the open waters, every muscle in his body straining to get away, get away, get away. He couldn’t hear whether or not the monster was pursuing, his heartbeat roaring in his ears, but he wasn’t stopping, not for anything--
Something collided with him heavily, knocking all the momentum right out of him as he went spinning through the water, disoriented.
He noticed the smell first: a thick and cloying iron tang, as though he was breathing in more blood than water.
A breath later, the pain caught up with him.
The eel was latched onto his side, sinking teeth deep into his abdomen and tearing at the flesh there. He choked out a scream, trying to drive his thumbs into the sea snake's eyes, but the rest of the swarm were close behind by now, and they began to circle and constrict around him.
He was caught. Even if he somehow got away, the new wound wouldn’t be so easily brushed off or bandaged up. He thrashed sharply against the swarm anyways, digging his claws into muscle and snapping his fangs at what he could reach, but for each eel he drove off, there were two new ones to take its place.
Gills blocked, barely able to move, he was struggling not to black out when he noticed a set of familiar glowing eyes in the distance.
Half the swarm scattered the moment the Leviathan drew close, apparently easily able to recognize the glowing patterns that flickered along its tail. The other half hesitated, unwilling to release their prey, but then it reached out with one huge, clawed hand, and the rest of the swarm vanished into the dark.
Virgil wished he could do the same, but being released had hurt almost as bad as being bitten, and his fins only fluttered weakly in response to his mind’s desperate shrieking.
The Leviathan’s hand curled around him, grip firm but somehow not blocking any of Virgil’s gillslits or even grazing him with any of those long claws. He managed a frankly pitiful wiggle of protest and then went stiff with the resulting wave of pain that rolled through him.
There was a little rumble from the creature as it drew closer, bringing Virgil up to its face. He went tense, scrunched his eyes shut, bracing for pain as he got nearer and nearer to those glinting teeth--
“Are you okay?” The voice was low, just above a whisper, and sounded surprisingly… young?
Virgil opened his eyes, finding that narrow, glowing gaze locked on him, dizzyingly close. The silence stretched for a breath, and when he managed to speak past his bruised ribs and the terror clogging his throat, the word came out confused and small. “What?”
“You’re bleeding,” the Leviathan informed him, turning him a little bit to inspect the injury. Virgil curled in on himself like a sea star, despite knowing that it was a pointless gesture. If someone this big wanted to take a bite out of him, there was little he could do to stop it. “It looks really bad.”
“Hurts pretty bad, too,” Virgil huffed out, watching the Leviathan’s every move, eyes tight with pain. What was the point of this? Was he going to die quick or slow? When? The uncertainty of it all made his spinal fins shudder.
“Oh.” The Leviathan recoiled a bit, his earfins drooping like a scorned child’s. “I tried to get to you before the eels, but they’re very fast. I’m sorry.”
Virgil blinked and unfurled a little, taken aback by the giant’s earnest apology.
“If you’re sorry, you can-- can let me go,” he tried, speaking carefully.
The Leviathan cocked his head curiously, eyebrows drawing inwards. “But-- If I leave you like this, you won’t survive long. Not down here.”
It was true. His hands already felt numb, his fins distant, the cold encroaching as he lost more and more blood. He would succumb to his injuries before making it out of the abyss. He’d known it even as he asked, wondered if it was worth a slower, longer death just to avoid becoming prey.
The Leviathan tilted his head in the opposite direction consideringly, and then lifted his other hand and advanced on Virgil. “Hold still, please. I will try to make this quick.”
A shock of fear ran through him, trying to revitalize his sluggish limbs, but all his body managed was wave after wave of uncontrollable trembling. He couldn’t avoid the approaching claws, couldn’t even bear to close his eyes to avoid seeing his impending disembowelment.
The Leviathan’s fingers curled in, tucking the claws away, and it was a knuckle that ended up pressing solidly against his torso, right next to his wound.
“Please,” Virgil managed to force out, terrified and disoriented, not even sure what he was asking.
There was a low hum, the sound almost resonant, and Virgil watched as every glowing mark along the being’s skin flared up in hypnotizing patterns.
A short, searing burn, like accidentally passing over a too-hot vent, and abruptly, the pain was gone.
The Leviathan withdrew, brightening up with excitement. “I did it!”
Virgil barely noticed the grip around him relax, fumbling his hands over where there had formerly been a gaping wound. His fingers ghosted over thick scar tissue, perfectly aligned to where the bite had been, with no lingering pain to speak of. “What-- What exactly did you do?”
“I healed you,” the Leviathan replied proudly, and then hesitated. “Right?”
Virgil found himself tugged back up to the Leviathan’s face with a yelp, sending his heart racing anew. The giant’s gaze was narrowed fiercely as he inspected Virgil’s new scar, and it took him a moment to realize that it wasn’t a glare. The Leviathan was squinting, as though his vision was impaired.
“It’s-- No, yeah, it’s healed,” he reassured the deep dweller, a beat late. “But… how?”
“Oh! Healing magic,” he replied, as though the answer was obvious. “I wasn’t sure how well it would work-- learning magic is hard, but I’m a pro-di-gy.”
The last word was carefully enunciated, as though he’d mispronounced it in the past. Virgil struggled to come to terms with the fact that magic was apparently real, and that what was almost certainly a child had just used it on him.
“You should swim slow,” the kid told him, hand slowly flattening out to give him more space. “That way you don’t pull on the new tissue! How do you normally swim so fast?”
“I practice a lot.” Virgil pushed himself up into open water, waiting for the other shell to drop. Was a Leviathan really just… letting him go? “Why’d you heal me?”
“Because you were hurt?” the kid replied, doing that curious little head-tilt again. As though the answer was obvious. His gaze flickered between Virgil and the surface light trickling down from above, and he rushed out another question. “How do humans make such big structures float?”
Virgil’s tail flicked anxiously. He could leave, right now. The kid wouldn’t be able to catch him.
“I think they make them hollow, full of air, so they don’t sink,” he answered, watching as the kid wiggled excitedly, muttering about shipwrecks, his patterns pulsating brightly. He felt a little faint at the sight of that razor-sharp smile. “I’ve, uh, never met a Leviathan before. Who-- I mean, what do you eat? Just curious.”
“I eat krill and plankton mostly! And some plants that taste good, or help stomach aches,” the kid listed eagerly. “I’ve met a few little mers, but normally they pass out or swim away really fast when they see me.”
He paused and pressed his lips together, like he hadn’t meant to say so much, casting another glance at the lighter waters above. He was expecting him to flee, Virgil realized, and trying to ask as many questions as he could before he did.
… The kid had saved his life. The least he could do was be polite company.
“What’s your name, kid?” Virgil asked, crossing his arms as though to reaffirm that he wasn’t leaving any time soon.
The kid’s fins twitched in surprise. “My name is Logan,” he replied, looking at Virgil with those wide glowing eyes.
“I’m Virgil,” Virgil said, flitting up a little bit to be eye level with him. “You, um… You got anything else you want to ask?”
This time, when Logan lit up with joy, Virgil slanted a smile right back.

Also, I’ll be changing the story by a little, (or by a lot, idk) from my previous version.
Tumblr media
You were feeling like John Travolta from the music video of Stayin’ Alive. Vibing to your own rhythm, living your own freedom. Attending college miles away from your hometown, you were the captain of your ship. Though you loved your parents more than anything, you were glad for the freedom granted upon you.
Your Freshmen year had just begun and you had already made a few friends. But what you didn’t want to accept just yet was your crush on one of them, Bucky. With his steely blue eyes and boyish charm, even a goddess might fall for him, and you were just a mortal. You were simply happy with being friends as you believed he would never like you and well, a little crush never hurt nobody.
Completing your shift in a local bookstore, just outside the campus, you were walking back, lost in your own thoughts. What caught your attention was a group of howling high schoolers; from the look of it, they were barely a year to two younger than you. A group of tall and popular kids were bullying a skinny, helpless dude; ufff the usual cliché you thought to yourself. What you failed to notice though was his bleeding nose.
You were a kind soul, always helping others, but you were no fool. All alone in an unknown town, you weren't going to confront the burly teens who were twice your own size. After giggling and cracking some stupid jokes on the poor dude trying to impress a girl, they left him and that’s when you noticed all the blood. You quickly crossed the road and walked towards him. He seemed smaller than he was as he was crouching down and trying to rub all the blood.
“Hey! Pinch your nose, don’t disturb it by rubbing.” you said while bending down. “Uhh, okay... thanks!” he looked at you with big doe eyes and you were utterly mesmerized by the blue oceans he had for his eyes. “Do you.. Do you need something else kid? Where do you live?” you asked giving him a candy and your water bottle. “I’m no kid!” he exclaimed and you flinched.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to hurt you. You are helping me and here I am shouting at you.” You could clearly see remorse in his eyes and you wondered why would someone hurt him? “yeah, yeah.. It's Okay... now have this candy, the sugar will help you feel better.” you said with a soft smile. “thank you so much... and by the way I live two streets across. I mean I can go by myself, I'm a grown-up.. But...” he trailed off and you helped him get up.
“I’m Steve” he tried his best to smile and you followed by sharing your own name. And with that his chatter train began, he explained that he was just trying to help another girl getting bullied, when the bullies decided to change their target and chase Steve instead.
“you should wear your own mask first and then help others wear theirs.” you quipped and instantly bit your tongue. “Hmm, what?” he asked genuinely curious. “what I meant is that you did what is correct and very brave, but sometimes you gotta think for yourself too. But these are just my thoughts.” you shrugged. “I’ll remember that.” he said with a genuine expression. And after a million thank yous he finally went in his house. By the size of his house, he seemed rich and you wondered maybe this wasn't that cliché.
☮︎︎☮︎︎☮︎︎☮︎︎☮︎︎
The next day, you were walking back the same road, when you thought of Steve. He really was a kind and sweet person. This world needed more of people like him. And just then you saw him smiling brightly and waving at you, his nose bandaged. He had a huge box in his hand.
“Heyyyyy! Thank you for helping me yesterday. So I just... kinda got this as a ... a token of appreciation. I considered you might like donuts, so I got you this.” He said rubbing his nape. His cheeks had become so red he looked like a ripe tomato. “well, if you haven’t already given me diabetes by saying so many thank yous, after eating sooo many donuts I’ll surely get it.” At that you both chuckled and the atmosphere became lighter. As you picked a donut, he looked at you with such admiration you thought you would melt then and there.
Suddenly with a stern expression you asked “what if it’s drugged?” His eyes widened and he stuttered, “I... I would never do that ...” he looked down and you thought he might cry. “hey waittt.. don’t get so sad.. I’m sorry, I’m so so sorry. I was just joking. I have this really bad habit of saying things when I shouldn’t. God I just ruined everything.” You just made a mental note not to joke around him, he seemed to be quite emotional. Though it was going to be difficult to tame your tongue. “don’t be. I just take things too literally.... anyway let’s have some donuts what say?” He said with such shine in his eyes you wondered whether he was sad just a moment before.
You both walked up to your university campus, munching on donuts. You both shared things about yourselves. You told him how you were passionate in becoming a doctor. He on the other hand talked about his struggles in studying. “will you help me? You are so smart and bright, will you help me study if I have a doubt or something?” he asked giving his big doe eyes.
You weren’t going to agree at first, you had just met him a day ago. But after looking in those calm blue pools of his eyes you agreed. Seeing the joy on his face, you wondered whether he just won an Oscar.
What you didn’t know was that Steve had already fallen in love with you, yes love, he was convinced that you were the one for him, his one true love. Not a moment had he been able to think of anything but you since he had met you. You were everything he needed and wanted and much more. He was simply desperate to spend more time with you.
☮︎︎☮︎︎☮︎︎☮︎︎☮︎︎
It had been around six months since you met Steve. Over the time you two had turned out to be best friends. While Steve had fallen even more in love with you, you had fallen hopelessly in love with bucky. While you always told bucky about Steve and vice versa, you never confessed to Steve about your love for Bucky, thus furthermore increasing his hopes. You desperately wished to make Steve and Bucky meet. They were two important people in your life and you more than anything wished that they got together well.
Today was the day when you decided to arrange a small meet and greet at the park where you and Steve met every day. You and Bucky walked together towards the tree where you usually sat with Steve waiting there for you. You knew both would like each other, but somewhere deep within your gut you were getting a not-so good feeling about this.
Steve’s eyes lit up seeing you but as they turned to Bucky, it felt as if all the energy had been sucked out of him. You didn’t like that one bit. “Bucky!?” Steve exclaimed in half disappointment and half fear. “You both... you both know each other?” you ask bewildered. You tried chuckling to lighten the mood but by the looks of it they were sworn enemies, but you prayed that you were wrong. “yeah, we know each other a little too well... Uh... We were good friends once.” Steve quietly admitted.
All this time Bucky had his jaw clenched, dragging in a deep breath he began. “I knew it! I knew it would be you, you little fucker! You want to have everything don’t you? Goddammit! I had this feeling it was you but I thought it was too much of a coincidence, but no. fate had to be so cruel.” you were shocked to see Bucky's sudden outburst. You wondered what conspired between the two, as either hadn’t ever mentioned the other.
You were snapped out of your thoughts with Bucky calling your name. “let’s go. I don’t want to see him even for a minute more and neither do you.” Bucky started pulling your hand but you stopped him “Bucky no. I guess you have some misunderstanding; Steve is a good person. And you don’t get to tell me who to talk to and who to not.”
Suddenly Bucky turned back to Steve, anger written all over his face. “You didn’t tell her, huh, did you? Don’t worry I'll tell her. Steve is the son of Joseph Rogers and he is the freaking Don Corleone of this area. Do you know how my father died? Steve’s father had him killed just because unknowingly he provided shelter to his father’s fugitive. Steve just pretends to be a caring, emotional person but he is a snake behind that mask, so is everyone in his family.” towards the end Bucky was in tears and you were in utter shock. Now that you tried to remember, Steve never really did tell you much about his family. And the fact that Steve wasn’t denying any single allegation made you want to puke your guts out.
“You have taken too much from me. But not this. Not her. Not the woman I love more than anything.” Bucky said it out loud in the heat of the moment. You were too dumbstruck to even blink. Did Bucky just confess that he loved you?
Bucky turned to you and held your arm with such softness you wondered if he was just now screaming his lungs out at Steve. “I know I can't tell you who to be with, and I promise I never will in the future, but trust me you want to be caught up with him or his family. And still, if you choose him, well then, I can’t be with you.”
You knew you had to make a choice then and there, there was no going back, and you chose Bucky.

Well. Guess who had some late night Emotions™ and wrote another drabble on that "Sherman adopts Stan and Ford when they're eight because Filbrick is the worst" story?
The room at Sherman's apartment was smaller than the one at their parents place had been. It was cramped, the singular window was poorly insulated, and the wallpaper was flaking. Almost everything in it was second hand - deeply cherished childhood toys picked up from garage sales piled in a corner, a banged up desk Sherman's college was going to throw out anyways nestled under the drafty window, an old space heater Ford had to repair nearly every winter puttering away snugly next to the drawer with it's missing handle. Everything was old and worn, but in a good, reassuring, way. Like a pair of well used shoes, slowly adjusted to it's wearer's feet and fitting far more comfortably than a new pair ever could. As far as Ford was concerned, it was infinitely more a home than the pawnshop had ever been.
Maybe that made sense though. He'd soon spent half his life there. The latter part. The better one. The one spent living in a shoddy apartment which's walls nonetheless practically oozed with love and family. The one without dad looming large like some invisible but always precent danger. The one with memories permeated by safety and stability.
Ford knew much of that stability was a carefully crafted façade, propped up on his big brother's shoulders. He'd caught on to it long before Stan, but in retrospect it was obvious. The way Sherman would skip meals so they never had to, the way he always seemed to be working overtime, all of it. It wasn't a stable situation at all. But he'd made it feel that was. Always made it seem like there was nothing to worry about. Ford and Stan had tried to help out wherever they could, doing chores when there were any and otherwise just being good and staying out of the way. It had taken a long time for the permanence of the situation to sink in. For the realization to hit that they wouldn't get sent back. That no matter what they did, Shermie wouldn't get fed up with them and cart them back to Pa.
But what if it wouldn't be up to him?
"Hey, Stan?" Ford whispered into the quiet of the dark. From the bunk under him, he heard a low grunt of affirmation.
"Yeah?" There was no trace of drowsiness in Stan's voice.
"I can't sleep."
"Tell me about it."
Ford dropped his arm over the side of the bed, letting it dangle. It didn't take more than a few seconds for Stan's hand to find it. Five fingers intertwining with six. An old gesture of reassurance. Quiet and secret, Pa wasn't big on sentimentality. That stuff was for women and crybabies. The secrecy wasn't a necessity anymore, Sherman didn't mind, but the gesture had carried them through long enough to become ingrained.
"I'm scared." Ford said. The confession came with ease. Just one of the millions that had been dispersed into the darkened bedroom over the years. Half a childhood spent.
"Me too." Stan's voice answered, drifting up from below. "Ya thinking about the war?"
Ford nodded into his pillow, before remembering Stan couldn't see him. "Yeah."
Silence descended on the room like a blanket again. Soft, but very palpable and almost suffocating.
It had been a perfectly normal day at first. When they woke up that morning, everything had been just fine. Perfectly average. You never really appreciate 'avrage' until it's threatened.
There'd been recruiters at their school, talking to the older students about war and enlistment and other things Ford wanted nothing to do with. It was something he was going to ignore. It didn't concern him. He and Stan were both too young. He'd felt a strange sense of almost invulnerability at that. So he'd just kept walking. He'd gotten caught up in an interesting discussion with his physics teacher at the end of the lesson, and was far more concerned with the fact that he was running late to meet up with Stan for lunch. But then it'd hit him with the same speed and ferocity as an oncoming freight train that while he and Stan might be in the clear, that same certainty was in no way extended to Sherman.
The closest thing to a parent they had, and an uncaring universe had just added his name to some nebulous lottery where being picked would spell tragedy.
Sherman was security, and now he might be ripped away.
Suffice to say, they hadn't gone to get food after that. Instead, the entire lunch period had been spent locked up in a bathroom stall, Stan trying his best to talk Ford down from the ensuing panic attack without becoming overwrought himself.
"What do we do, Stan?" Ford's voice was low and miserable. He'd managed to pull himself together for the entire evening, not wanting to worry Sherman. But problems always seemed much bigger in the dark, and this one was insurmountable enough in daylight.
"I donno." Stan said. "Do ya wanna go talk with 'im?"
"I don't know."
Ford went quiet again, just listening to the rumbling heater and the odd car passing by outside. If there was one thing he missed about their old room, it was the sound of the ocean. A busy road was no substitute for calming waves.
Did he want to go talk to Sherman? Yes. The sense of comfort he usually got - both of them usually got - from doing that was so deep rooted it was only surpassed by the comfort they could find in eachother. But this was about Sherman, so venting their fears with him might help. He never got upset at them for doing so, not for being 'sissies' or for keeping him up when he had work in the morning or for bothering him. The fact that they could go wake him up if they needed it was another one of those truths that had taken a long time to sink in. But after a bad bout of the flu had almost escalated to hospitalisation for both of them because they wouldn't tell Sherman they weren't feeling well they'd sat down and had a very long chat about the importance of communication. It still felt like night and day compared to Pa.
"I guess I want to go talk to him. But it feels stupid."
"You know he wouldn't see it like that." Stan's hand squeezed Ford's comfortingly.
"I know. But..."
But what? Ford wasn't sure how to articulate the issue. Not even to himself really. He wanted to go and ask for reassurance, he wanted that familiar comfort. The one that made him think of sitting up late at night being hugged and reassured through childhood stomach aches and emotional breakdowns over bullies. That strange paradoxical feeling of a miserable situation made almost... Cozy? None of those situations were ever good. The things that facilitated them hurt. But that hurt facilitated closeness and safety, and those emotions were always the ones that remained. They were good memories tinged with something bad. Or maybe bad memories overwhelmed by something good?
So yes. He wanted that. He wanted to make a good memory out of this hurt.
But that felt selfish.
The situation was horrible. Horrible to the point where trying to make something good, however miniscule, come out of it almost felt like it'd be disrespectful. Making light of something that should stay dark. That should hurt, and only hurt.
"Ford? Ya still awake?"
Ford breathed shakily through his nose. Trying to stop his voice from wavering the way he just knew it would.
"I want to go talk to him. But it feels wrong."
"Why?"
"I don't know how to- I don't-" Ford paused, focusing on breathing again. Intellectually, he knew he didn't have the keep the emotions tapped down. Another lesson Sherman had worked hard to drill into them. It was okay to cry and dad was an asshole for demanding they don't. But he still didn't want to. It still felt somehow weak. Shameful. "I want to go, I want to make it feel better, but I also don't want to make it feel better because it hurts and it should. It should hurt. It's awful."
Stan remained quiet for another few seconds. Usually he had no qualms about blurting out whatever came to his mind, but maybe this situation required more thought.
"Let me get this straight... The reason you don't want to go and talk to Shermie is because ya want to be upset?"
Ford didn't know if that was it or not. He couldn't make heads or tails of his own emotions. They felt huge and overwhelming, too big to fit inside him but also too big to unravel and understand. Like a nest of gigantic snakes all tangled up in eachother, chaotic and confused, hissing and biting itself.
"It's bad. It's so bad that trying to make it good feels wrong." He didn't know if that was it either.
Stan let go of his hand, and Ford instantly mourned the loss of contact. Comfort? Wasn't comfort what he didn't want? He was so confused, he just wanted everything to make sense. He lifted the corner of his t-shirt to wipe at his stinging eyes as Stan's face appeared over the side of the bed.
"Ford... Look, it's okay to let things hurt, but it's also okay to make them hurt less." Stan looked at him intensely. Ford felt himself becoming even more choked up at the scrutiny. "No, seriously. It's like... Like breaking a leg, right? Remember that time in fourth grade when you did that?"
Ford nodded, slightly unsure what this had to do with anything.
"It hurt, and it's okay that it hurt. It made sense that it hurt, and you don't pretend like it doesn't. But just because it makes sense that it hurts doesn't mean it was bad that you got painkillers and a cast. Without that junk it wouldn't have healed right."
That... He supposed that might be a valid analogy. Maybe Stan had a point.
"So... You think we should go?"
"Are you going to feel any better if we don't?"
Ford considered for a moment, still warring with the conflicting emotions twisting his stomach all up in knots. But he thought maybe it was slightly less. Shaking his head, he excavated himself from the nest of blankets and clambered down the ladder. Moving through the darkened apartment and arriving to knock at their brother's door as they'd done so many times before.
In the end, it did help. Sitting huddled together on the bed in the dark until the sun began to rise and the fear crept away with the shadows. Until it felt safe enough to fall asleep, secure in the knowledge that everyone would still be there come morning. The situation was large and looming and firmly out of their control. That much didn't change. They couldn't decide how things would end, but they could decide how they would cope. And they would cope.
Together.

Jolyne - No Ordinary Girl
Mermaid Y/N x Surfer Jolyne
Today was a particularly fitting day to go to the beach. Jotaro had taken Jolyne, Hermes and Foo Fighters to the shore. He mostly went for some observation and the girls decided they would take advantage of the nice weather for some surfing.
It was not long after they arrived and started installing themselves that Jolyne and Hermes' eyes fell into very familiar faces.
Annasui, upon seeing the group, walked towards the girls with a confident stance, making sure his long hair was flowing in the wind.
"Oh look who we have here. The ladies victory." Annasui exclaimed, before completely falling heart-eyed, his voice and tone softening, dreamy even, at the sight of his object of worship. "Hi Jolyne~"
"Oh! Weather Report's there! Hi Weas!" Jolyne called out to the older man arranging a parasol a few feet behind, her completely ignoring the pink haired-male that seemed to have come with him. He waved shortly at Jolyne in response.
"Anyways, what are you guys up to?" Hermes asked, sipping on some lime flavored granita.
"Well, as you can see..." He pointed at the ocean, "We just wanted to take a day to work out a bit, but the waves are real nice today."
He leaned in not so subtly towards Jolyne, despite Hermes' evident judging gaze.
"But you know what else is real nice today?" He brought his hand up to cup Jolyne's chin, but before he could even say or do anything, Jolyne leaned away and pointed behind him.
"Oh wow! My dad's coming back with drinks!" She called nonchalantly, looking behind Annasui like he was more transparent than air itself.
"...! DRINKS?! DRINKS!!" Foo Fighter gasped, pushing the feminine man off to the side with such force, he fell and slid against the sand.
"Hey, Jojo," Hermes tapped her friend's shoulder, "Let's show these pendejos how girls ride waves."
The Asian American smirked, eager to show who's boss and always ready to follow on her best friend's mischief. "I'm racing you then."
"Pfft, I won't go easy girlfriend." The Mexican cracked her knuckles and grabbed her plank.
After surfing for long enough and being outran by Jolyne's stamina, Hermes decided to go back and sunbathe next to F.F's who was playing cutely with sand.
Jolyne glided full speed over the water, the wind and droplets of salty water refreshing her skin. More than competition, Jolyne loved the acceleration, the adrenaline, the sweet fresh air through her long hair. When she was surfing, Jolyne's heart lightened up and her mind purged of any negative thoughts, anxiety, fears.
She was at peace.
Before she could enjoy the sweet taste of her peace of mind though, she caught up to a blond surfer in front of her who she recognized as she got closer. Oh god, not him of all people.
"Oh, hey! Isn't that the sexiest surfer in all Miami?" Romeo teased, admiring the girl who gained up on him, "Not bad, look at you go! Who knew my little Jojo would be so talented, hot damn!"
Jolyne frowned and clicked her tongue. She swore if she wasn't so focused on staying in balance, she would drown him on the spot. He laughed obnoxiously, satisfied with being a disgusting excuse of a human.
"Romeo, I swear to fuckin-"
Before she could even finish her sentence, something, a gigantic fish tail appeared out of the wave and flicked itself right accross the blonde, slapping him off of his plank with a painful sound.
"HUAARGHH-" He screamed before crashing into the water with the splash and disappearing behind Jolyne.
"O-OH MY GOD!" She gasped, both surprised by the sudden turn of events, and incredibly scared for her life, thinking some kind of hostile shark was in the shore currently, which was to report immediately.
The moment she decided to take a turn and leave as fast as she could, warning the others to get the hell out of here, a shadowy form within the water followed her along the wave.
Foolishly curious, Jolyne looked at it, not without her heart hammering in her chest at the potential danger she was facing.
What she saw was not a sight she'd have ever expected to ever see in all her 19 years. Her legs shook at the shock and she almost completely fell over her board.
Gliding along the water right next to her, right inside the tall wave, was the figure of... a girl.
Or was it a girl? It couldn't be. She looked human at first glance, but the more Jolyne's gaze moved sideways she noticed the long and impressive fish tail replacing what were supposed to be legs.
Jolyne's jaw felt slack. She felt like she was hallucinating. Believe it or not, she had not smoked or taken any recreative substances beforehand, but she truly wished she had because that would have at least explained what her eyes were showing her.
The girl swimming and following her only smiled, waving cutely with webbed hands, as if amused by Jolyne's disbelieving reaction and wide eyes.
"W-w-w.... What the fuck..???" Jolyne finally spoke after rebooting her entire brain, "No fucking way-...! A mermaid??!! A real one??!"
Like a bad trick from fate, the wave Jolyne was trying her hardest to not get swallowed by, seemed to grow weaker and weaker, shortening in size.
Jolyne saw the mermaid slowly retreat away in an elegant swim, her form vanishing into the deep blue.
"Wait, no!" The surfer called, almost desperate to have such a mystical meeting and ethereal moment be so short lived.
She reached her hand out to the creature, unsure of what she was even trying to do, but the force of the current got the best of her, and Jolyne lost balance, falling forward with nothing to hang onto for purchase.
Jolyne splashed onto the water and the wave died with her hope of ever living such a dream again.
"Ooohh dang it! You were almost there!" Hermes called out from the shore, her voice booming enough for Jolyne to hear as she broke into the surface.
"Fuck...." Jolyne cursed, hanging onto her board.
She felt defeated. Not because she couldn't ride that wave to the very end as she was expected to with her skill level, but rather because she couldn't immortalize that beautiful moment.
She blankly climbed onto her board again and barely even paddled her way back to land, too out of it to do so.
Was that even real? That had to be, right? She saw the mermaid. She saw her hair, her skin tone shined-on by the sun. She saw the scales over her skin, the fins along her arms and tail.
She saw her attack Romeo, he must have seen her too, Jolyne pondered.
"Aaah the champion is back!" F.F cheered as Jolyne finally walked back, drenched and with her plank under one arm. "I made a sandcastle for our ocean queen!"
"Thanks Foo..." Jolyne's small smile didn't not match her quiet tone.
"Hey, what's up, chula ? You look like you've seen a ghost, or something? You did great back there, so why the long face?" Hermes fixed the straps of Jolyne's bikini top and removed some seaweeds from her hair.
"It's just... I saw something weird it the water and I don't know..." Jolyne hesitated, "Maybe I was dreaming or something."
"Hum..." Hermes hummed in thought. "What do you think Féfé?"
"Maybe Mr. Jotaro can answer if you saw an animal? Damn, I'm thirsty." F.F stuck her tongue out, clearly expressing her thirst.
"Dude, there's water litterally everywhere here." The mexican grimaced before turning back to Jolyne. "But yeah, maybe you should ask your dad if that worries you so much."
"Uhh..."
Jolyne looked towards her father who was crouching somewhere next to some rocks, taking notes about mollusks, or so Jolyne guessed.
"Yeah, maybe not. It's fine though, no big deal." She smiled, waving her hand in dismissal.
Shrugging it all off, the girls decided to join Weather Report and Jotaro who brought food to finish the day at the beach with a relaxing touch.
And so, the day ended with an uncanny normalcy for Jolyne, who kept thinking more and more as the sun set, that it all had been in her mind. Mermaids didn't exist. It was probably a Stand user playing tricks on her.
That what she wanted to believe. When she thought of all the events that would follow, she truly wished she had spoken to her father about it. After all, if he had fought a very real vampire, then there would be no doubt that something as crazy as a mermaid could exist in her bizarre adventure.
Jolyne came back to the beach that same week. Alone, this time. She was careful to come by the time the sun started to lower in the sky and the temperature of the water and air dropped, knowing tourists and athletes would be gone by this time.
'What now?' She thought. Coming back out of sheer curiosity was a thing, but making sure she could attract the creature back to her was something else.
"Should I bring food? What do mermaids even eat? Does she like hot dogs...?" Jolyne thought out loud, looking around, secretly glad no one was here to hear her talk mad nonsense to herself like some insane crackhead.
She approached the water and drenched her feet in the small rocking waves, coming and going her way and gently splashing her. She hesitated for a moment, remembering that along with the legend of mermaids came the fact that these creatures were known to attract and enchant humans by their beauty, leading them to their inevitable death.
So maybe, Jolyne accepted, she was destined to die in the ocean.
Just as she came hip-deep into the sea, she felt a strange current shaking her legs, almost knocking her out of balance.
Before she could even process how strange it felt, she looked down into the clear water and saw no less than the same huge colorful fish tail she had seen that very day.
She gasped in realization and soon enough screamed as she felt calloused hands grab her thighs, the creature pushing herself out of the water to be met face to face with the human who had been, unbeknownst to Jolyne, her newfound fixation.
"Y-WHAAAAAHH!!!" Jolyne hollered, not expecting such a strong and surprising appearance.
The mermaid still halfway into the water, climbed and gripped up the girl's hips for leverage. She looked up at Jolyne's face, smiling wide and eyes glinting in both adoration and mischief.
"Greetings."
"HOLY CRAP-" Jolyne's voice cracked, "I mean- fuck yes! I mean-..."
Poor Jojo was completely out of it. But who could blame her, though? It was not everyday that one got to meet a real mermaid in the flesh. And certainly not such a handsy one.
She cleared her throat and mustered her most suave voice, pretending she wasn't completely flustered by the sheer beauty before her.
"Hi."
"I knew you'd come back..." The mermaid spoke, her voice almost ethereal and distant, "They always do."
Jolyne's heart wanted to stop. God, she felt burning hot and was sweating everywhere. Her voice stilled Jolyne to place in a way she couldn't explain. The legendary creature was so impossibly close to her, bodies almost touching.
She noticed she couldn't stay up overwater any other way than using Jolyne's lean body for leverage, her heavy tail anchoring her down. But the warm proximity between them and the sight of such a beautiful, rare and mystical creature right under her chest felt unreal and exciting.
Jolyne wanted to look her over for hours. Her hair texture, drenched and flowy, her skin tone glowing like gold, her holographic scales and fins shining like crazy diamonds.
"Why... Why did you...? Of all people...?" Jolyne questionned, now wondering if their first meeting in that wave was really a trick of fate, or if she was chosen in any way. "You attacked Romeo, yet you showed up to me... Why me?"
"I like beautiful humans." The mermaid smiled, her radiant features and smooth voice making Jolyne's legs weak, "You're beautiful."
The young surfer couldn't help her heart shaking and the wave of warmth spreading through her chest. If it was anyone else, she would boast her obvious beauty or maybe flip them off. But now she couldn't. Being complimented by a mythical being that was already the most gorgeous thing Jolyne had ever witnessed was truly something else
"What's your name?" Jolyne started.
"Call me Y/N."
Y/N, Jolyne's mind echoed. Cute. Even mermaids had names, she thought before realising that may be a very stupid thought to have. She didn't really know what else to expect.
"I uh, I'm Jolyne..." She looked down into the water, somewhat not daring to look at Y/N's adorable curious and sensual gaze. Oh god that was bad, she was entrancing.
"Not to be gay but...You look cute. Hot even. Can I say that? That's not weird, right? Since ya know... You're not exactly human, but you're not an animal either, like... I'm not gonna get arrested for this... I hope..."
"I'm not too familiar with human tongue, but I think Ms.Jolyne looks really pretty as well." Y/N moved to wrap an arm around Jolyne's waist, gripping her for better leverage and pointing at her chest, right in her reach. "Healthy mammals, great for feeding the young."
"Mammals...? Oh! You mean my boobs?" Jolyne glanced at her modest chest before grinning at the creature, "Aw thanks! Finally someone who likes them who's not some degenerate creep!"
Jolyne's chuckle died down and she finally took the time to look over Y/N's face. She ran a cold hand over her much warmer cheek, gliding it down to her gilled neck, mesmerized by her anatomy.
It truly was a one-in-a-lifetime meeting. Jolyne was slowly comprehending her luck to be met with a legendary sea creature like her. And a friendly one, at that.
How could this be even real? Our human knew that even though she was feeling relatively serene at the moment, the adrenaline would come down later and she would most likely cry herself to sleep.
"Hey uhm..." Jolyne was at a loss for words. There were so many things to say, but at the same time, she couldn't speak a word.
"Hm?" Y/N hummed and closed her eyes, enjoying the human's gentle touches.
Merfolks would express themselves via physical ministrations the most in the ocean, but she knew well a lot of humans did not share intimacies, or at least not before building a certain bond.
Glad that Jolyne was open to it, the sea-bound girl squeezed both her arms around the human's waist lovingly, forcing endearment on Jolyne, who felt her own heart tighten at the sweet and adorable embrace. The girls wanted to keep each other.
"Will we see each other again? I mean, I know you shouldn't be noticed by the public for your safety, but I don't know... Guess I took a liking to you or something." Jolyne mumbled, still resting her hands mindlessly around the creature's shoulders, fiddling with the ridges of her dorsal fin.
Y/N smiled, a smile that looked empty on her fish eyes, but sincere regardless. She let go of Jolyne who couldn't quite take her own hands off of her, clinging a little bit longer.
"Don't you know this, Ms. Jolyne? When human women die in the ocean, they relive as our kind."
"What? Really?" Jolyne let the mermaid get away slowly, ready to swim off to some unknown destination.
"If you want to see me again," Y/N called out cutely, waving her webbed hand like the very first time she saw Jolyne surfing, "Then perish in the ocean!"
She grinned, diving into the deep blue and splashing her tall tail strongly, giving herself a boost of speed, and disappearing away.
Jolyne could only stare into the horizon, darkening as the night arrived, stunned into place.
"...Ok, that was metal as fuck..."

Hey Professor! I was wondering if there's a story behind your aversion to water and water type pokemon?
Well yeah kind of. But it is a bit of a long one, so buckle up buttercup.
When I was very young I lived on a farm, a stones throw from the ocean, you could leave the back door, and walk down about 30meters and be at a cliff face that dropped down to rocks and waves that would crashed against the stone cliff face no matter the weather, and though the view was beautiful, it held a lot of danger. I was free to wander, my family were very free-reign with my upbringing, and so I had a lot of time to myself. They had to run a farm, handle a herd of 300 strong Miltank, plus the 15-20 Tauros, numerous gogoat, torchic, some Rapidash, mareep, you know, the works. No time to watch the kid.
Our farm was so far away from other people, I never got to hang with other kids, but I liked that a lot, never was social. So my one friend was Valka, an angry little vulpix who had been entrusted to me, instead of being put down. She had broken into the torchic coop and got herself stuck, after killing many of them. So after fighting for her life and arguing her case to the adults, I was granted her to prove I could reform her, or be trusted? I’m not entierly sure, it was a very long time ago, all the same, we paired up, and eventually bonded through reading and working together. A silent partnership, I watched the chickens, she watched me, it worked for us.
Where I was got nothing but heat, all the time, winter was hot, spring was hot, summer, like the devils butthole, autumn, hot but rainy. The sweet relief from this was swimming in the ocean. Back then I was confident! I’d wade into tide pools, hang around all kinds of water Pokemon, loved it, you could hardly get me out, eventually I got a little older and was trusted to use a reasonably sharp metal stick to go spear hunting for stunfish to eat, and krabby to boil up. It was good, even Val would hop about the rocky ledges to the tide pools, and accompany me far out, almost to the edge of the reef during low tide.
Little did I know the dangers I was right next to, as a child you don’t focus on that, you deal with what’s directly in front of you for the most part. So one day I’m out with Val, fishing as per usual, one of the farm staff was on the beach keeping an eye on me half heartedly, but we wandered round the coast’s harsh corner, into new territory, and out of sight. The rocky ledges were harder to traverse but I was determined, I had plenty of time to check out the new location and get back before the tide changed, so why not right?
One misplaced footing, that’s all it took, I slipped into a pool that was 4-5 meters across, scratched my leg on some dead coral, and sunk, way deeper than any rock pool I was use to wading into. This under water cavern opened up into a space that could possibly hold a Wailord. It was dark, and cold, and the tide seemed to pull me further down. Val being a fire type was adverse to get in, and I am to this day glad she didn’t jump in. With the water dragging me further down, I felt my whole body go cold as the light above got dimmer, and the pressure of being under that far began to hurt my chest, ears feeling like they’d explode under the depth.
The scratch I’d acquired on my way into this watery space led Pokemon to me, first small, a school of chinchou, they seemed passive and quickly left me to sink further. Then a great cluster of Staryu, one even tried to pull me back up to the surface, but they again fled, something moved behind me, made my blood run cold. I swivelled and clocked eyes with a Carvanha, one, then two, no three. I heard the area was riddled with them, but because I stayed in shallow water I never got too close, and seemed to consider myself safe. One got a little closer, but they all fled, something far bigger and way meaner was close by.
I heard water above me shift, something disturbed it, looking up all I could see was a figure, big but coming towards me, and below, another form shifted, the far meaner Pokemon everything had been afraid of. A Sharpedo, white tip on its fins, rows of teeth as it’s mouth hung open, coming at me with unnervingly slow speed. I’m usually pretty chill with Pokemon but this one just didn’t take its eyes off of me, seemed to look through, I was snack sized compared to this thing, and it was very aware of that.
As the air began to run low, and fear set in I struggled and kicked, and squirmed, and did just about everything I could to look bigger and meaner than the Sharpedo, who just kept slowly swimming forward, so calm yet completely focused. It took a bite at me, enough to nick my leg, but I was pulled to one side, by a familiar family Pokemon. My mother had a particularly kind Azumarill, who had noticed torrents of fire being spewed from Val as she sent an alarm to my disappearance above the water I had sunk beneath. The big water mouse Pokemon had dove in from the cliffs at the end of the garden and come to the rescue, just in time too.
We all jetted our the ocean at such speed, landing hard on the coral rocks, scrapes and scratches, covered in cuts from impact, the shadow of that Pokemon that stayed in the deep rock pool vanishing into tunnels. I never ran so fast to get to land, it was far too close for my liking. I did not volenterily get in the water again after that.
In the years ahead while I stayed on the land, occasionally fishermen would be pulled to shore, missing limbs, some not surviving the waters. There was sightings of that same Pokemon, out far in the deeps, past the reef, but occasionally its white tipped fin would be seen in the odd deep pool, waiting for something to fall in.
I couldn’t get back in the water after that, not confidently. It’s not that I don’t like water Pokemon, I love them, most are very kind, well rounded and certainly fun Little dudes, I just can’t give them the care and time I would like, I don’t like to be in the environment they prefer, and getting into a man-made pool with them is about as far as I can go. I use to not even manage that, it’s taken me years to get ahold of my fears, and now I will happily don waders and get into fresh water ponds and lakes if they’re small enough and trustworthy. I do all the pond care on the island, but rivers and the ocean are still a no go for me. I don’t mind a boat ride, I can stomach a wade into water up to my knees, but any further and I lose my cool.
Over the years I can count on one hand how many times I’ve been fully submerged, and none of them have been pleasant. The only time I willing have gone into water is to get Val, who had been thrown in herself. She was afraid, I had to go get her out.
Now days Professor Grey handles mostly all of the ocean based work, and I get a lot of time with his water Pokemon when they come on land, so it’s been easier being around the ocean as a whole, and coming to terms with my weaknesses. Don’t think I’ll rush to get in anytime soon but it’s not something I’d never do at any cost. I know it’s beautiful down there, and it holds some special memories for me, so there will always be a quiet respect for it all, and the things that live in it.
Despite fears I would never condemn Sharpedo as a Pokemon, I have had the joy of working with some lovely individuals, and despite my personal aversion, I know they have a huge part to play in the eco system, and hold great importance to many other species and the way the environment manages itself. They are good, I just got a bit of bad luck with the one I had a close encounter with.

AU where Alex is a marine biologist and the Crusaders are a pod of mermen who save her from drowning and eventually befriend her. also Iggy is a seal
Tumblr media
To the rescue!
Alexandra's team was on the boat getting ready for their last dive in that territory, checking their equipment to make sure that there wouldn't be any problems.
Their ask was to check on some corals that were under control. Easy, right?
Well, at first yes. It all went well.
They dive down to the corals, the water was pretty deep and it was even deeper where there weren't any other corals that they had to check.
Alex and her dive buddy were... not so friendly towards each other in that period. But for being young adults, they were mature and they knew that if something went wrong, they had to collab to not end up dead in the ocean.
So they made this agreement and they were all good.
Or at least that's what she thought.
They stayed under the water for a pretty long time, noting everything on their waterproof notepads. They also saw some fish swimming in that zone.
When everyone was low on air, it was time they had to go up.
Alex's dive buddy makes her a thumbs up, telling her to get on the boat.
The young woman being distracted with the wonderful world underwater didn't even notice that it was time to go. So she checked her air on her divecomputer and it was a little bit low.
But Alexandra was not done finishing her work, so she pointed at him and then made a thumbs up to tell him to go without her.
And that was her biggest mistake. It was even her buddy's mistake because instead of insisting to go up together, he just shrugged and leaved her.
Then the current started to increase. Strange, when they checked if there was to be any current they saw that the sea was supposed to be calm that day...
So after that, Alex decided to go up. She saw from afar that her teammates were doing the same, while others where already at the top doing some decompression safety stop. Near them was her dive buddy.
But when she took her last glance at the coral reef, she saw a turtle that was struggling to swim. So Alex started swimming towards it.
She saw that a fishing net was around its fin and now also around some corals, making the turtle unable to move.
The young woman took her diving knife and then started to cut first the net around the turtle's fin. She had to be very careful since the net was tightly wrapped around it. That must be feeling painful, poor guy.
After the turtle was free, it swimmed happly away and Alex waved slightly at it; putting the net in her little bag. She then looked at the coral and started carefully cutting the net from it.
In the mean time, the current started to increase by a lot, making it difficult to stay in place.
But Alex didn't want to go up after she cut all the net from the coral. It was difficult, because the current kept moving her to the side.
She tried her best not to kick with her fins on the corals under her and by doing that, she failed in remaining still.
The current increased enormously and Alex was trying her best not to go too far from the boat.
Then when she tried to swim up, she notices that it was very difficult to do so. And then she realized:
She was cought in a down current.
Water kept pushing her far and down while she tried to swim against it. It was exhausting.
She tried to keep her breath steady to not consume any more air, but it was nearly impossible since she was doing so much work with her legs and she also started to panick a bit.
She couldn't even hold her breath to avoid using more air, because doing so was very dangerous. She must continue to breath underwater no matter what.
While she was kicking hard to try going against the current, she checked her divecomputer and she was dangerously low on air.
She snapped her head towards her dive buddy that now, was very far from her. That bastard! He didn't even bother checking if his dive buddy was coming up. And she couldn't even see her other teammates!
So she understood that she had to go through this alone.
She tried to hold herself by grabbing some corals and rocks, but she kept slipping from them and also sadly breaking some of the fragile and sick corals.
She thought to put more air in her BC, but then it would've costed her some precious air. And as said before, she couldn't even hold her breath under that depth.
She then thought to put just a little bit of air in her BC and then taking off her weight belt, but even that would've been dangerous. She could've popped out from the water like a ball after you forcefully put it underwater! And she wouldn't even be able to do a decompression safety stop, causing her decompression sickness.
While she thought of that, her legs started to slow down for exhaustion and the very strong current kept dragging her far and deep from the boat; into the depht of the ocean.
She was officially panicking, favoring to the fact of her breathing faster and consuming more and more air.
She checked one more time her dive computer and saw that the tank was almost empty.
Tears of fear started creating in her eyes. She was starting to feel dizzy from the panicking and the exhaustion.
When her head started spinning, she thought 'fuck it' and decided to put some air in her BC. With the little air that remained, she took one last short breath and put the rest in her BC.
This situation was extremely dangerous.
Her vision started to black out when she tried to reach for her weight belt.
Before she could've even do it, all of her strenght leaved her body and all she saw was black.
She let the current dragging her far and deep.
It was the end for her. She fucked up really bad this time, but no one could've scold her after hearing from her this absurd story.
Because dead men tell no tales. (See what I did there? R e f e r e n c e)
----
Alexandra had still her eyes closed, but she felt weird. Like she was out of the water and she felt... warm?
Is this what the afterlife was like? Weird and warm?
Alex then tried to process if she was standing up in front of the heaven's door or laying on the ground. Or perhaps... sand?
She even heard the waves crushing on the shore. So she felt warm, sand under her hands and waves. Huh. Heaven must take in your favourite place to go apparently.
She then heared some voices, but she couldn't understand what they were saying. Maybe they were the angles.
Alex's vision slowly went from black to red, due to the light passing through her eyelids. She squeezed them and managed to move her head a little.
Then she heard like something was dragged on the sand, and then heard a voice saying something.
Alex heard some other dragging on the sand and other noises coming towards her, before slowly opening her eyes, regretting instantly doing so for the strong light.
Before shutting them again, she saw some strange figures towering on her. Damn those angels were massive.
She fluttered again her eyes open, weakly bringing her hand towards her face to rubbing one of them.
When she finally decided to give them a better look, that's when she realized that maybe those weren't angels.
They were mermans.
She widened her eyes and slowly moved from a laying position to a sitting one. But she then started coughing.
While she was doing that, the red-headed merman patted her back to help her cough out all of the water.
In the mean time, the others speaked to her telling their names and what happened.
There was even a seal!
And those mermans where huge. Like, okay she had a little body in the first place, but damn these guys were big.
They told Alex that they saw her sinking to the bottom, so they picked her up and brought her there.
They didn't brought her to her crew, because it was too risky for them, but hey at least she was alive!
She was alive...
At the thought, Alex started crying from happiness. The silver-haired merman named Polnareff approached her and hugged her.
But then she asked why they saved her. The older merman simply said that they saw how she treated the marine life in these days that she was here. She was so kind a gentle. Man that day she even risked her life for saving that turtle and remove the fishing net from the corals!
They understood that she was part of that little slice of "good humans", so letting her die when they could've saved her seemed a waste.
She thought that no one deserved to die, especially in a scary way that she experienced. But at least she was glad that she was still alive.
They asked her what happened, and even if she doubted that they knew how the diving gear worked, she told them anyways about what she experienced.
But then it clicked: where the hell was she and how she'll get home? The mermans at that reassured her that she wasn't so far from the land lived by people.
Of course her crew would've be panicking, but they couldn't go dive again and search for her that same day. Following that, they might've have thought that she was dead or that the strong current brought her away.
Either way, someone had to search for her. But how much time could've that take? Maybe tomorrow she'll be home? Will it take some days, weeks? Will they even find her? Would her crew even report that she was missing?
The young woman started to worry and she slighty breathed heavier than before. The ravenette merman named Jotaro noticed that and said to her to stop worring. He reminded her that they weren't so far from land, so sooner or later someone that fished in that zone would've spotted her and helped her.
Polnareff then suggested to take her directly where the other humans lived, but the dark skinned merman named Abdul responded saying that it was too dangerous; he then said that waiting was the best option. He finally said that they could've helped her by bringing her food while she waited for someone to come and rescue her.
After some other arguments, they sticked up to Jotaro and Abdul's plan.
Since Alex started her dive early in the morning, it was just late afternoon in that moment. The sun was close to setting, but it was still there making light and making warmth.
And since it was hot, she decided to take off her wetsuit and to remain just in her bikini. Polnareff was immediately fascinated by her smooth legs, and so he started being his flirty self; making the other sigh and laugh.
Their time together on that island passed with talking, laughing and knowing eachother. All good memories.
She slept on the sand and even if she told the mermans that she will be alright during the night, they insisted on taking turns to stay with her while she rested and recovered.
The next evening, fortunately, Alex was rescued and brought to her crew.
The young woman and her dive buddy made peace with eachother and they promised to not make any other mistakes in the future.
But it wasn't a goodbye for Alex and the mermans, since they promised to see eachother again.
And as it said, it happened.
★★★★
Idk about you guys, but the draw that I've made + knowing that they looking at Alex layed on the sand kinda reminds me of this photo

And I've said everything. Have a good day >;)

Doing something a bit different! The setting of this little piece is in southeast asia. I don't see a lot of southeast asian rep and considering that's where I come from, I wanted to make one /w\ a bit vague as to where specifically on purpose!
naga!sans/reader
You stare at your empty basket happily, feeling the dirt under your feet as you walk. You managed to sell all of your guavas in the market today, and you got a pretty penny for it. The woven basket swung on your fingers as the wind gently rustled the leaves of the nearby trees. The sun was hot. Though it was near sundown you were sweating, you could feel the cloth wrapped around your body from your chest to your shins sticking a little in certain areas. It was a good idea to wear the rice hat, or the sun would've been shining right into your eyes.
You didn't have much longer to go, you were already near the rice fields. Just a bit more, and you're home.
You wiped the sweat off your forehead with your free hand, hopping down on the uneven ground, getting to the dike of the rice field, starting to walk across.
Two dots light up in the darkness, locking in to the figure walking in the distance. He saw the human lady, walking across the rice fields. All alone... he saw the way the dress she wore pressed to her sides. Mmm... he could see the shape of her. So perfectly soft and delightful.
You jump a little when you felt a little bit of the dike you were walking on sink under your foot. Part of it was mud, but thankfully you didn't slip in. You switch the basket to the other hand, the one holding starting to get misty from holding it too long. It should be close to harvesting soon, the greens were reaching up to around your waist now.
Silently, he slipped between the grass. Around harvesting is when the plants are their tallest... where it's hard for people to see through the grass to see where the dike leads. The ground's become dryer since the seeds were planted.
The wind blows, giving you a breeze that's not too cold that it makes you shiver; pleasantly cool on your skin of your exposed arms, even on your back where the cloth was thick. It brushes the rice grass like a comb, swaying them from side to side, like ocean waves.
The grass shivers and hisses in the wind, disguising the sound of his slithering as he moves closer and closer towards you. He presses himself as flat as he can to the ground, moving the grass aside with his body, climbing a dike, before going into another patch of field closer to you.
You yawn. The winds cooling you off make you slightly sleepy. You stop in your tracks, looking at the field around you. Rays of sun casting through the blades, shadows dancing on the rice.
Spotted scales, colors blending him perfectly into the grass. His body as thick as a tree in one part, causing the rice to bend slightly as he passes through. His forked tongue flicks out before he slowly licks his fangs- two especially prominent ones near the back rather the front- as he raises his skull slightly to look at where the girl was, hungrily eyeing her down.
what a... delicious, sweet little thing you are.
A bug lands on a grass nearby. You lean a bit closer to see it was a beetle, one that was harmless to the rice. You smile, watching it crawl around for a little bit. Though, from bringing your attention to it, your eyes are also drawn to the forest nearby, near the borders of the rice field. It looked darker now, just green and darkness... the stories people tell floated to the front of your mind.
Be careful walking around the rice fields when the sun goes down... especially near harvesting season. The grass is too tall to see what's hiding under it all. Beware, for when the sun sinks under the horizon and night takes over day, monsters awaken from their slumber. They come out to hunt in darkness. No one can save you from a threat they cannot see. They come out from the forest, and you were warned by your father not to play in the rice fields as a child, especially here.
"Of all the monsters, the snake monster is the most dangerous. He is bigger than ten men standing on each other's shoulders, and wider than two. His upper body is that of a ghostly skeleton, thicker and stronger than a human’s. And this giant can lurk completely invisible in the rice fields during harvest, girl. He is huge and powerful, and so masterfully stealthy. He is clever. You can run from a boar and hide, and it will leave you. But he knows how to follow his prey. Like other monsters, he likes to take unsuspecting children, but there are stories of adults being taken away by him. There have even been times where he appears in the heart of the village! Be careful my child, he is to be feared. Don’t be in the fields even before sundown, he might see you and take you away.”
You remember the story scaring you so much that you had clung onto your parents that night, and you remember with some amusement, your mother scolding your father for scaring you like that; though she also told you not to play outside after it’s dark.
You were sure this was a story a lot of parents tell their children for exactly that: so they come home before sundown. There were a lot more stories than just that snake monster your dad told you. Stories to scare children so their parents could keep them safe. When you think about it now you laugh; there can’t be any giant skeleton-snakes here. You walk by the fields everyday to and from home, and you remember the times your dad had worked in the fields until it was late. People go in and around the fields all the time, surely more people would disappear because of this mystical giant snake. Even if he did exist... he’s too big to actually hide, right? A snake that huge would stand out, you’d see the grass move, he wouldn’t be able to weave through them.
Rice field snakes and pythons? Maybe. Giant man-eating, child-stealing snake monster? Probably not.
Besides... the sunset looked pretty from where you were standing. Painting the skies orange and yellow, casting a golden glow on the rice as the wind swept through it once more. You took a deep breath, standing where you were, filling yourself with the fresh air, smelling the rice. The air has cooled down slightly, and you feel pleasantly drier than earlier.
See? It isn’t dangerous, dad.
Besides, the sun’s still there. There was nothing for you to worry about.
... Though you did enjoy the scenic view the rice provided, enjoying it all alone, you were getting sleepy and wanted to go home.
You took a step forward-
A buzz from behind you made you flinch a little, and you turn around to see the beetle flying away again. Your eyes follow it to the sky- when you see something moving out of the corner of your eye. Some of the grass were rustling, shaking, approaching you at an alarming rate. Your heart raced at the sight, your muscles all tensing in a fraction of a second- eyes widening when you see a pair of glowing eyes appear out of the grass- the grass hissed furiously as a giant naga shot out of it.
Your mouth fell open, your hands becoming slack, letting go of the basket. Terror gripped your whole body as you watch- the beast had sprung himself off the ground and flew towards you, hands out to grab you, his great maw parted in front of you. Your throat tightened, gasping to shout, but no sound came out, stuck in a silent scream. His thick arms wrap around you and you are toppled to the ground, making a cry as his thick body thrashed and wound around you.
You kick with your legs and hit with your hands, but the snake quickly coil your legs shut, and your hands only brush against the scales that were rapidly covering your vision. The grass shook violently as you were stripped of your mobility- the last thing you remember was his fangs in your face, hands reaching out against his impossibly thick ribs before all went dark.
...
The grass hisses quietly. The sun sinks lower into the ground, casting a long shadow on a upturned basket. Not far from there sits a lonesome rice hat.

“Humans are so funny. You make up false stories about us and refuse to believe anything that isn’t the same as your imagination,” the siren said.
Harry tossed his head back and laughed. He held out a finger at her. “No, mermaids aren’t supposed to exist. You’re not supposed to exist.”
The siren narrowed her sharp gaze, and Harry quickly moved back a bit in fear of her grabbing his leg and pulling him into the water. To his surprise, she said, “And who are you to decide that? A useless human with a useless tail–”
“Okay, enough with the tail joke.”
“–can’t even survive the drowning deep. You don’t want to believe we exist, so you won’t have to carry the guilt of trashing our homes and murdering our kind.”
Baffled, Harry worked his jaw while silently cursing himself for never taking part in those debate classes back in school. Well, to be fair, he couldn’t have known that one day he would have to debate with a deadly siren in a cave on his goddamn birthday!
He shut his eyes and sucked in a breath. “Look, lady. I’m only one small human, with a bigger than average human tail, FYI.” The siren eyed at his crotch in disbelief, so he quickly crossed his legs. “But that’s beside the point! What I was trying to say was that, if you’re seeking revenge, I can’t satisfy you because I’m not responsible for trashing the ocean or shit like that. I’m a singer, alright? And I don’t even live here. I’m from London. A land far away. If you wanna murder a human, I suggest looking for Elon Musk.”
The siren stared at him like he was the mythical creature. “I’m not familiar with all the names you mentioned,” she said, folding her arms across her chest, which had been a big distraction for him. Good to know that he could still get horny while facing death.
“Don’t you guys have fish Wikipedia?” he asked, and she tilted her head, looking rather confused. Harry pinched the bridge of his nose. “Sorry, I shouldn’t have assumed that you should know all the facts about humans. That sounded like discrimination against sirens.”
For the first time since Harry met this siren, she actually smiled at him. “You have a lot of funny words, you strange creature,” she said, her eyebrows knitted in fascination.
“You know what?” Harry exhaled sharply. “Since you’re my kidnapper, I’m gonna stop arguing with you in case you still wanna kill me. But today is my birthday, so I can’t be kidnapped. I haven’t posted a thank you message on Twitter yet, and I might get cancelled for that. Celebrities get cancelled for literally anything nowadays. It’s annoying.” The siren blinked at him, her pink lips slightly parted. “Right,” he breathed. “You don’t have a Twitter account.”
“You said you were a singer.”
“That’s all you got from my long speech?”
“What is it? Singer.”
Harry bit his dry lip and frustratedly combed his fingers through his damp hair. “I sing. Use my voice to entertain other people.”
“Oh, like sirens.”
“I guess.”
“Except that we use our voice to kill people.”
“What?”
“Sing for me,” said the siren despite Harry’s horrified look. She seemed excited as she rested her folded arms on a boulder and gazed up at him with a twinkle in her crystal clear blue eyes. “Let’s hear it. I didn’t know humans could sing. Let’s see if it’s good.”
“Fine.” Harry blew out his cheeks and cleared his throat.
He began to sing.
“Walk in your rainbow paradise–”
“What’s a rainbow paradise?” the siren asked, but he didn’t stop singing to answer her.
“–brown skin and lemon over ice.”
“Why are you singing nonsense words?”
Once again, he ignored her, this time, closing his eyes. “I get so lost inside your eyes. Don’t you believe it? You don’t have to say you love me.”
“Love,” the siren repeated the word as if she had never heard of it in her whole life.
Harry opened his eyes and found that she was looking at him as if she could see right through him. He went on, “You don’t have to say you’re mine. Oh honey, I-i-i-i walk through fire for you. Just let me adore you.”
“Why would you walk through fire for someone?” the siren wondered out loud as she stared off into the distance, her strong brows knitted. “That's stupid. Fire is hot. I saw the humans on the boats use it one night. I almost burned my fingers trying to touch it.”
“Yeah, don’t play with fire.”
“Then why would you walk through it?”
The siren pouted, and Harry caught himself smiling at her naivety. “It’s supposed to mean that you’d do anything for the person you love. Even risking your life.”
“That’s stupid,” the siren repeated her earlier remark. For a second, Harry saw a curious little girl and not a dangerous sea creature from earlier.
“Well, it’s just a song,” Harry told her. “I personally wouldn’t do that for anyone, either, but some people do love with all they have, and would sacrifice everything for the one they love.”
An angry frown had replaced the siren’s previous perplexed expression. “Some humans murder the ones they claim to love,” she said in a cold voice. Harry felt a chill running down his spine, but then the siren went on with a softened expression. “Sirens are not supposed to love. Love is a weakness for my kind.”
Harry nodded. “Bet you don’t even have a heart.”
The siren cocked her head; a corner of her mouth raised subtly. “Every living and breathing thing has a heart. Sometimes it’s valuable. Sometimes it's not.”
“Only valuable if it’s the heart that you want,” replied Harry.
For a long moment, the siren looked into his eyes as if she was trying to read his thoughts. Could she do that? Read his thoughts?
Beads of sweat were trickling down his back as his heart began to race; he could hear it in his ears. Suddenly, the siren was pulled beneath the water. Harry stiffened at once. The ocean was still for a moment, then two sparkling tails burst through the surface. Harry’s jaw fell slack with a soundless scream when he saw another siren sinking her fangs into the first one's neck.
The other siren had bright red hair and a silver tail. There were visible scars all across her pale, lanky arms, and he couldn’t see her face. Legs too stiff to run and hide, he stood on the edge and watched in absolute terror. The scene in front of him was madness as the sirens screeched, their tails flapping, creating violent waves as they sank their claws and teeth into each other’s flesh. Harry could see blood. The first siren was not as strong as the one that was attacking her. He must save her. Maybe a part of him knew that she wasn’t entirely evil. Maybe because she was the only hope for him to get home. Either way, he couldn’t just stand by and watch her die.
Before Harry could even think of a way, a bony hand wrapped around his ankle and dragged him into the sea.
.
.
.
Harry’s dreams were thick with blood and haunted by the siren’s face. He’d been in the dark water, drowning, and the last thing he’d seen was her sapphire eyes glowing with the sunlight above as she’d stretched out her arm to grab him before he sank deeper. He woke up gasping, still feeling the saltiness of the ocean on his tongue and the pressure of water on his lungs.
He found himself lying on his bed, fully naked under the covers. Had he been dreaming?
Kneading his temple to chase away the headache, Harry scanned his sore eyes around the room and screamed when he saw her sitting in the corner. Naked. He looked away as soon as he caught her ocean blue eyes staring back.
The siren was in his room. And she had legs!
“You’re alive!” she exclaimed.
He heard her standing up but couldn’t bring himself to look. She sat down on the edge of his bed, smelling like the ocean. Not the fishy kind of smell; one that was unique, and Harry liked it even though he shouldn’t.
“This is a dream. This is a dream. This is a dream,” he mumbled to himself while clutching the duvet to his chest.
The siren, now a human girl, let out a sigh. “It’s not. This is real. I’m real.”
“You’re not.”
“Look at me.”
“I can’t.”
“Why?”
“You’re...naked.”
Even though Harry wasn’t looking, he could feel her questioning gaze pinning on him. He grabbed the covers and shoved them at her. “Cover yourself.”
“Oh...okay.” The siren did as she was told as Harry quickly placed a pillow on his private part. He finally looked at her, and she smiled while covering her upper body and the area between her legs with the duvet.
Harry let out a sigh of relief. “Better. Okay, why are you here?”
The siren’s eyes widened. “You don’t remember?”
Harry shook his head.
“We were talking when my sister attacked me, then dragged you into the water. You were lucky I saved you twice and brought you back to where I’d found you. This is the only palace on this beach, so I assumed it was yours.”
Harry sat and stared her face, trying to detect a lie but failed.
The siren rolled her eyes. She seemed disappointed as she swept her long black hair over her shoulder, exposing the huge bite mark on her long pale neck. The skin had healed, and the blood had dried, but the area was still bruised. Harry fought the urge to touch it. There was no way this was really happening.
The siren shot a glance at his ankle. And that was when Harry noticed the red claw mark around it. He shivered at the flashbacks of a siren with red hair and a silver tail charging straight at him with her mouth wide open, her sharp teeth ready to tear off his flesh.
“Sorry about my sister. She could be very...deadly,” the siren in front of him said, looking remorseful.
Harry eyed her up and down once again. Finally, he broke his silence, “What happened to your tail?”
The siren refused to look him in the eye as she said, “My mother found out that I saved you, a human, so she cursed me.”
“Cursed you?”
The siren said nothing; the corners of her mouth lowered as she stared down sadly at her legs.
What kind of The Little Mermaid plot is this? Harry thought to himself, yet didn’t say it because it shouldn’t be a joke. She’d lost her tail, which meant she couldn’t go back to the ocean. Ariel from The Little Mermaid had wished to become a human. This girl had been cursed with the life she never wanted just to save him twice.
Harry buried his face into his palms. “Shit. Fuck. I’m sorry. This is all my fault.”
“It is your fault.”
His head whipped up at her honest response. “You always say what you think, don’t you?”
“Why shouldn’t I?”
Harry sighed and ran his palm over his face. “Never mind. How...how do I get you back to your mermaid form?”
“Siren.”
“Sorry, siren. How do I help turn you back?”
“I don’t know,” she said sadly, clutching the duvet to her chest. “But I need a place to stay until I figure it out.”
Harry thought for a moment and nodded. “I’ll pay for your hotel room.”
“What’s a hotel?” the siren asked, her eyes round. “And why can’t I stay here in your palace? It’s big and you live alone.”
“This is a house, not a palace,” Harry said. “But I’m going back to London tomorrow, and I can’t take you with me.”
“Where is London? I want to see London.”
Seeing her so excited made Harry laugh. “No, you don’t; trust me. It’s not sunny there. Always dark and gloomy and raining.”
“It’s not sunny underwater, either.”
Harry held up a finger and kept his mouth open for a moment as he pondered over what she’d said. “Good point. But I’m still not taking you to London. That’s not a good idea.”
The siren’s eyebrows drew together. “It was your fault I’m in this situation.”
Harry gasped. “You’re so manipulative!”
“I don’t know what it means.”
“It means you say things like that to get me to feel sorry for you, and so I have to help you.
“Oh, then, yeah, I’m manipulative,” the siren said. “Take me to London with you, or I’ll find you in London and make your life hell.”
Harry tossed his head back and groaned. As if he hadn’t been traumatised enough by all the events that had happened today, now he had to take responsibility for the life of a mythical creature. If he had been a bad guy, he would have just let the government have her and keep her in a lab like that Oscar-winning movie about the dead girl and her fish lover. But Harry wasn’t a villain. Sure, he could be an asshole, but he couldn’t betray someone who’d risked her life to save his. Twice.
Maybe if he’d just say yes and then leave quickly in the morning, he wouldn’t have to deal with her. He’d ask someone to take care of her, pay for a place for her to stay and her food. Her mother would have to take her back eventually. He didn’t know about sirens, but even in the animal kingdom, mothers never abandoned their children.
“Fine, I’ll take you to London,” he said. Seeing the smile on her face, he was lowkey thankful that he was so good at lying. “First, you have to put some clothes on. Wait here.”
Carefully, he slipped out of bed, holding a pillow in front of his crotch and one behind him to cover his butt, then padded awkwardly to his closet to change and get her something to wear. When he returned, she was still sitting on his bed, humming a familiar song and kicking her feet as if testing out her new body parts. He found it endearing, but of course, he wouldn’t tell her.
He handed her a bathrobe. “Put this on. I’ll find some real clothes for you later.”
The siren accepted the bathrobe and stared at it as if she’d been told to put it in her mouth and chew. She glanced up at him. “I don’t understand the purpose of this.”
“To cover up your private parts.”
Suddenly, she seemed sad. “I think I’m broken.”
Harry blinked. “What?”
She looked at him again, pouting. “I don’t have a tail.”
“I can see that.”
“No, I mean, a tail like yours.”
When Harry realised what she meant, his face burned, and he cleared his throat into his fist. “You’re not supposed to,” he said awkwardly. “You’re...a female. I bet male sirens don’t look the same as you, right?”
“There’s no male sirens,” she told him.
Harry cocked his head to the side, squinting his eyes. “Huh? Then how do you guys...you know?”
She blinked innocently at him. She didn’t know.
“Mate.” The word made Harry cringe. “How do you mate?”
“Sirens mate with mermen. We only need them for children.”
“Okay, that’s...new…”
Harry would be glad to find out more, but this was definitely not the right time. He waved his hand, urging her to hurry up. Clumsily, the siren got to her feet. Harry didn’t intend to stay here while she changed, but since she could barely keep her balance, she had to hold onto his arms. He stood there, staring at the ceiling as the duvet dropped. She was completely naked in front of him now and so dangerously close. The voice inside his head was telling him not to peek. Fuck. Why did she have to be sexy?
“Do you...um...do you need help?” he asked as she seemed to be struggling with the bathrobe.
“No, thanks. I got it!” she said between ragged breaths, then, “Hey your tail is growing!”
Harry’s eyes dropped to the front of his boxers, his face heating at the sight of his erection. He gently pushed her back onto the bed and rushed to the bathroom.
“Where are you going?” she shouted after him. “I need to see it in its full form!”
“This is its full form!”
“It’s still small.”
“Shut up! It’s not!”

Ezili felt bad for lying to this human.
Well, lying was the whole point of her mission, but he had been so nice to her when he found out she couldn’t return to the ocean. She blamed her new human heart for these emotions. Siren Ezili would never feel sorry for this ugly creature. No, wait, this one wasn’t ugly. The mermen were ugly. As much as she despised humans, she must admit that most of them were beautiful.
When this human wasn’t looking, Ezili would regard him with as much curiosity as he had regarded her in secret. The way his brown curls swept back messily. His defined jawlines. The deep dimples in his cheeks. The look of wonder in his eyes. He looked about her age, but his eyes were innocent, greener than seaweed.
She looked away as he caught her gawking. They were sitting at a small table on the floor. The room was darkly lit by the light in the corner. On the table was a mushy pile with little fire sticks on top.
“What is this?” Ezili asked, inspecting the object.
The human smiled at her, the firelight dancing in his leaf-green eyes as he said, “It’s a cake. We’re celebrating my birthday.”
“You told me not to play with fire.”
“We’re gonna put it out anyway.” He winked at her. “A little fire won’t hurt.” Ezili watched the human take out a little black thing and flick his thumb. Fire flared out, making Ezili flinch. “Relax,” he chuckled and the fire vanished. “This is called a lighter. It makes fire. This is a cake. These are candles.”
“What do we do with the cake?”
“We eat it.”
“You eat fire?”
The human laughed at Ezili’s distressed look. “No, silly. We blow out the candles, then eat the cake.”
“Oh,” she said, making him laugh harder. She found it disrespectful and annoying. Was this creature making fun of her? “What’s so funny?” she asked through gritted teeth.
The human stopped laughing, yet his dimples were still visible. “I can’t believe I’m celebrating my twenty-fourth with a siren,” he said.
“Who do you usually celebrate with?” Ezili asked.
“My friends or family,” the human said. “My friends were supposed to be here but their flight got cancelled due to bad weather.” The sadness in his eyes disappeared as he gave a dismissive wave and laughed. “Oh well, it’s not bad being alone. In fact, I’ve been alone my whole life.”
“That’s sad,” Ezili murmured, mesmerized by the candles.
“It’s not,” replied the human. “Some people live their whole life surrounded by others, and yet, they’re still lonely.”
As he closed his eyes, took a deep breath, smiled, and blew out the candles, Ezili sat there and pondered over his last words.
They didn’t eat the cake right away, because the humans said they ought to eat it after dinner. Apparently, humans ate three main meals a day—breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Sirens ate when they were hungry, so this was very new to Ezili. She picked up the small shiny thing that shaped like her mother’s trident and pushed around the foods on her plate. “What is this?”
“Fish,” the human said with a smile.
“Dead?”
“You expect me to eat alive fish?”
Ezili scowled at him. “That’s what we eat.”
“You’re human now. Try cooked fish.”
When she didn’t do anything but stare at the plate, the human nudged her hand with his knuckles. “Come on. If you don’t like it, I’ll get you the raw fish in the fridge.”
Ezili doubted that this imbecile creature would poison her with these colourful foods to get away with his responsibility, but at the same time, nothing was impossible.
However, she would probably faint if she didn’t eat. This dinner actually smelled good, and her stomach was rumbling because she hadn’t eaten since yesterday. And so she stabbed the fish’s burned flesh with her little trident, closed her eyes and put it into her mouth. It was soft, salty and a bit spicy, and...surprisingly delicious. She quickly took another bite, and another, and another.
“Wow, you’re really hungry, huh?” The human chuckled. “You like it?”
Ezili nodded fast, unable to answer because her mouth was full.
The human seemed satisfied. “Good. Means I’m a great cook.”
Ezili chewed fast and swallowed as the human began to eat. She tried to copy the way he held the little trident and the knife, and felt like she’d changed. Her mother would hate her so much for enjoying this. And Koa would make sure everyone in their kingdom knew and turn her into a laughing stock.
“Do you have any questions for me?” she said, breaking the silence, mostly to distract herself from thinking about the mission and her family.
The human thought for a second. “Hmmm, I have a bunch so I don’t know where to start.” Then, after a pause, “Why did your mum do this to you? Doesn’t she love you?”
Ezili wished she could stab him for bringing up the topic she’d been trying to avoid. Instead, she sucked in a breath. “She does. It’s just...the way sirens show love is different from humans. We teach our children to be strong from the moment they are born. Sirens live dependent on one another to survive, and so we always have to look out for one another. I guess that’s love for us. My mother is the Sea Queen. She’s very powerful, and so she has high hopes for my sister and I. My sister is better than me, though. I’ve always envied her.”
“Your sister is scary as hell,” the human remarked. “But if your mum is the Queen, you must be a princess.”
“Yeah.”
“Wow, so does that make me Prince Eric?”
“Your name is Eric?”
“No,” the human chuckled. “It’s a reference from The Little Mermaid. You should watch that film. You’d probably hate it though. Anyway, it’s so weird that we don’t know each other’s name. I’m Harry.” The human, well, Harry, put his hand across the table. Ezili didn’t know what to do with it so she just stared.
“I’m Ezili.”
Harry smiled, picked up her right hand and shook it. His hand was bigger than her and warm. She liked it.
“Cool name. Can I call you Ezi?”
Ezili instantly pulled her hand back. “No, you filthy creature. That’s not my name!”
“Ezi is short for Ezili.”
“What?”
Harry ignored the look of confusion she was giving him. “Or I could call you Bubbles. That’s a cute nickname.”
“Why Bubbles?”
“Because…” He tossed his head back and groaned. “Damn, woman, you gotta read the story, too. I can’t make these jokes if you don’t get the references.”
Ezili had so many questions. Just as she was about to ask, the black thing on the table lit up and started playing a song that startled Ezili.
“Sorry. My mum’s calling,” Harry said as he picked up the thing and swiped his fingers across it. “Right on time.”
“Is your mother trapped in that thing?” Ezili asked, clutching the hem of the shirt Harry had told her to wear. It was too big on her but she loved that it was comfortable and kept her warm.
“No, this is a phone,” Harry said, shaking the magical device with light coming out of it. “So my mum’s in London, and when she calls me on the phone, her voice gets transferred through it, and I can hear what she says.” He pushed himself up and told Ezili, “I’ll be right back.”
Once Harry was gone, Ezili sat there and tried her best to process all the new information. It was only her first night on land and she was already going through it. This mission was harder than she thought. Still, she had no choice but to continue. She must have that heart, and her mother would be so proud.
.
.
.
When Harry woke up this time, he was on his private jet.
“Hey.”
He screamed, causing Ezi to fall back into her seat in front of him. He whipped his head around and saw that they were the only two people in this cabin. Before he could even come up with a question, Ezi got up, her hand resting on either side of his seat as she leaned forward, until her face was so close to his that he could smell the vanilla scent of the cake in her breath.
Her eyes sharpened at once. “I know you were trying to get rid of me.”
“No...I didn’t.”
“You did, Harry. You were going to leave me at your beach house. I heard you talking on the phone last night with someone else after talking to your mum. You mentioned a hotel room.”
Harry had booked a room for her on the phone last night. He should have done it on the website.
“But guess what?” A corner of her mouth lifted. “I might not have the ability to control tides anymore, but I still have my voice. And so I can control humans with it. I sang you to sleep last night. Then when your servants came to take you to this metal bird, I made him carry you to the magic black carriage and I came here with you. You think you’re one step ahead, you’re wrong. Try that again. I dare you.”
Harry swallowed hard. He could feel his palms sweating as he rubbed them against his thighs. “Okay, I’m sorry for that,” he said.  “But you can’t control people like that. If someone found out what you’re capable of...what you are...you’d be in big trouble.”
Ezi arched an eyebrow as she slowly backed away and stood straight with her arms across her chest. Thank God, Harry’s mother called just in time. He immediately got up and excused himself to answer the phone. He left a pouty Ezili in the cabin and went to the exit to talk to his mother.
“My precious boy, are you on the plane right now?”
“Yes, Mum,” Harry sighed.
“Good. I just need the name of your date for the seat arrangement.”
Harry stiffened for a second then quickly glanced over his shoulder to check if Ezi was eavesdropping. Fortunately, she was distracted by a magazine.
“Like now?” he asked his mum.
“Yes. Last night you told me you found one.”
Yes, Harry remembered that part, but he’d only said that so his mum would stop pestering him.
He took a deep breath. “Yeah, I did.”
“Her name?”
He hesitated before saying, “Ezili Hans.”
Hans as in Hans Christian Andersen. The writer of The Little Mermaid. If he had the energy to be happy, he’d give himself a pat on the back for the creativity.
“Great,” his mother said, sounding as if he’d just told her he was getting married. “I’m so excited to meet this girl.”
“No, you’re not.”
“Yes, dear?”
“I-I said ‘Well, of course’,” Harry said and covered it up with a nervous laugh.
When he got off the phone with his mum, he felt a light tap on the shoulder and turned around to see Ezi. Shit, had she listened to–
“I promise I won’t use my singing voice to control you again,” she said, to his surprise. "Please. I cannot survive on my own." She twisted the hem of his band-tee uneasily. Even though she looked super cute in his t-shirt and joggers, she was still too underdressed for someone that was travelling on a private jet.
“Fine. You can stay,” he heard himself say while trying to imagine her with actual clothes that fit her.
Ezi’s blue eyes lit up, and the smile that rarely showed up on her face caught Harry off guard. He almost forgot what was happening.
“Really?”
“Yeah.” He nodded. “But we need to set up some rules.”

Snake Charmer pt. 1
Impossibly blue skies free from clouds stretched out above her head that bright and cheerful morning. It was hot. Uncomfortably so, but Kagome welcomed it despite the sweat beading at the back of her neck. Clad in a two-piece bikini hidden by her cute blue summer dress, the cotton thankfully thin and breezy, she drank in the sunny scenery greedily.
Hawaii sprawled out, with its rolling hills, high cliffs and exotic greenery. True, it was a little tourist-centric where they were staying, but the Japanese college students could hardly complain.
"I'm so excited for cliff diving~" Eri grinned, practically buzzing as they walked down a road beside the ocean. "Kyle said he'd meet us there, right? Do you think he'd be more attracted to a confident girl, or should I pretend to be scared?"
Yuka rolled her eyes, adjusting the strap of her bag over one shoulder. "From the way you were flirting last night at the hotel, I don't think he'll care either way."
"Maybe just fake a dizzy spell so he can catch you in his big strong arms~" Ayumi giggled.
"And what about you? I'm sure his friend will be there."
"Oh, don't get my hopes up!"
The three laughed, noticing their friend's silence once the girlish giggles died down.
"What's wrong, Kagome?" brows knitted with concern, Ayumi gently tapped her shoulder.
Shaken from her reverie, Kagome dragged her distracted gaze away from the ocean. "Hm? Oh… nothing," she smiled. "I was just thinking about what that man tried to say to us."
"You mean the Native we saw earlier?" Yuka arched a brow. "Forget it, none of us know Hawaiian and when he switched to English it was a lost cause. None of us can string a sentence together."
"It's true, I forget most of mine when we left school," Ayumi sighed mournfully.
"I flunked English," Eri smirked.
Shaking her head, Kagome folded her arms and frowned, "maybe so, but I could pick out a few of his words. 'Water' and 'no' with some kind of motion with his hands. He approached us while Kyle was talking to us about the cliff diving location with that map. Maybe it's a dangerous area, and the man was trying to warn us?"
"If it was a warning, Kyle would have told us. He said it was fine, just that we should be wary of any rocks, but he knows the area. It's standard stuff," waving this off, Eri quickened her pace, heels clanking on the hot road.
"He knows the area better than a guy who lives here?" Kagome drawled, sharing a glance with Ayumi. Her more sensitive friend bit her lip, giving a weak shrug.
"Let's at least check it out," she said, adding more under her breath; "Eri is really excited. We can humour her a little by meeting with Kyle again today. None of us has to jump."
Releasing a breath, Kagome set her concerns aside for now. It wasn't like she wanted to be a wet blanket about it. Still, the man's wide, imploring brown eyes continued to nag at her mind. Such an expression could bridge the gap in communication. She'd practically felt his concern.
---
Kyle was a tanned, brown-haired boy travelling around the world. He struck Kagome as the adrenalin junkie type. Eri fawned over him, positively smitten. It was rare for a foreigner from London to be so well versed in Japanese, and they'd met through an online dating site, organising a get together while he was in Hawaii. Thus Kagome and the others had been dragged along. Kyle was practically their tour guide and means of verbal communication with English speakers.
His friends were less fluent in Japanese. The three shirtless blonde-haired young men flustered both Yuka and Ayumi, talking in broken sentences.
Kagome couldn't say she minded the male attention as they walked together to the cliffs. Obviously, they weren't up for anything permanent, just fooling around. Kagome had indulged in that sort of thing before. Unfortunately, it was quickly becoming boring. Men just couldn't get a clue. Whether it was a long-term boyfriend or a one-night stand, a playboy or attentive virgin, she found her experiences frustrating on a level she couldn't quite understand. It was lacklustre.
Perhaps today would be different. It would've been nice to hang out with Kyle's friends and get to know them if she could just rid herself of the man's warning.
"This is the spot," Kyle grinned, showing his dimples.
The group had stopped atop a cliff with a few trees littered near the edge. Yuka peered over the lip of the side, holding onto a branch.
"Wow, that's uh… quite a drop."
Kyle rolled his shoulder, muscles coiling. "It looks worse than it is. So! Who's going first?" he grinned wider, clapping his hands and rubbing them together.
Eri laughed nervously, hugging his arm, "shouldn't you go, oh fearless leader?"
"I believe in ladies first," sea-foam blue eyes strayed to Kagome, who remained a little uncomfortable.
"What about your friend?"
"Ah- she's a little afraid. I don't think she'll be jumping," Eri dismissed.
"Aww c'mon," Kyle broke away from her to gesture to Kagome, inviting her closer. "At least take a look. No point in walkin' all the way here and not seeing the view at least."
"I can see it fine from here," Kagome gave a smile that showed her teeth. "Thanks anyway."
"Kagome."
Judging from her friend's expressions, they clearly wanted her to act more respectful.
Biting back a sigh, Kagome forced a more amiable smile upon her lips and stepped closer to the edge, peering down.
To Kyle's credit, it was a stunning view. She'd never seen water so crystal clear and blue. She couldn't tell how deep it plunged, but the waves rolled pure white, not a blemish in sight. No deadly rocks either.
What had the man been warning us about?
"What do ya think?" a playful voice rasped close to her ear. Kagome felt the heat of his body draw near.
Her lips pursed, "it's beautiful," she allowed. Maybe she was being too much of a stick in the mud, it wasn't like her.
"Then- why not take a closer look?"
Hands shoved.
Blue eyes flew wide as Kagome felt her body careen forward, hair swooping back. Letting out a fearful scream, Kagome felt her feet drag and fly free from solid earth. Gravity pulled her down.
Falling was surreal, disorientating. She'd pretty much left her stomach back with her friends it lept so violently. She couldn't tell up from down, but the ocean swooped in closer and closer.
Instinctively, Kagome sucked in a huge breath.
Making impact with warm waters, she plunged deep beneath the surface, bubbles obscuring her vision.
Almost immediately, still, serene waters swirled into motion.
Kagome's heart thundered with alarm, bracing herself. She mindlessly kicked her legs out of instinct the second something started pulling her downwards. Trying hard to break away from the current, her efforts proved to be in vain as it swept her up like a whirlpool.
Kagome closed her eyes. It became impossible to know where she was, how far the surface lay beyond her reach. Her lungs strained.
Getting desperate, Kagome abandoned all logic and started to swim with the current rather than fight it. If she was going to die, she'd rather it be while doing something. Staying motionless didn't suit her.
Aching lungs grappled for air, and Kagome felt herself weaken. Desperate motions slowed. Her mind hazed with fog, becoming dizzy.
Gradually, she began to resemble a motionless rag-doll.
Something strong and sturdy wrapped around her waist, pulling her body.
Kagome weakly felt the sensation of being yanked. Shadows entered her murky gaze like she'd passed through a tunnel, lights soon reaching her again. And then she was suddenly flicked up and released.
Gasping the second her head broke free from salty waters, she sucked in sharp breaths and coughing violently. Kagome then promptly collapsed.
She blearily noticed the dim lighting and smooth rock she found herself splayed upon, shuddering. I almost died.
It took a few moments to adjust and control her breathing, but eventually, after laying there and recovering from the experience, Kagome shakily roused herself enough to sit up. Looking around, she found a cavern of sorts awaiting her. The layout was spacious. Rock walls sprawled around her, a single circular opening high above in the ceiling allowing a circle of concentrated sunlight to pour down into the ocean pool she'd surfaced in.
Kagome pulled herself onto a rocky platform, following a walkway around the water and leaving wet footprints on cool stone in her wake. Thick shadows lay beyond the opposite side of the pool, with a multitude of paths in the rock-face branching off in different directions. They looked as though they'd been hollowed out by a huge earthworm. Kagome wagered they were a maze of sorts.
No way am I going in there.
Glancing up at the natural skylight, Kagome bit her lip. Such smooth rock would be too steep and slippy to climb, and she doubted a helicopter passing overhead could spot her inside. She wasn't even sure how far she was from the mainland. Silence reigned within the lonely cavern, save for lapping water within the glittering pool. She couldn't hear any tourists or speedboats outside.
Kagome swallowed.
The pool.
She didn't exactly like the idea of chancing another swim. However, diving in again to reach the open ocean could be her only chance of finding help.
Putting it off for now, Kagome wandered around the edge of the pool, rubbing her arms absentmindedly. She felt shaken from the high fall alone, never mind nearly dying from a random whirlpool.
"That's what that man was trying to warn us about," she mused to herself, glancing at the water. "I hope Kyle doesn't push anyone else in. That bastard!" she seethed. She'd always been a strong swimmer, but if he had pushed in Ayumi, even with regular waters, the situation could've been dangerous. The idea of it only pissed her off even more. "When I get outta here, I'm giving him a piece of my mind. I bet he'll say - 'ohh it was just a joke.' Ha! You can tell that to my fist, buddy!"
A shadow moved to her left.
Kagome jumped, snapping her gaze to it. Sweat pricked at the back of her neck.
"H-hello?"
Nothing.
Well, it had been out of her peripheral vision. What a convenient time for her mind to start playing tricks on her.
Taking a deep breath, Kagome let the air whoosh out of her lungs. "And now I'm seeing things," she rambled, grasping her hair and wringing out excess salty water. "That's not unusual though, heck I think I see things passing by in the kitchen all the time. Totally nor- AH!" Kagome started badly, looking directly at the shadows. A sleek, long thing swept out into bright sunlight across the floor before retreating smoothly. It had been pale, covered in a sheen that resembled scales.
Was that a… tail?
Kagome took one step back. Then another. Whatever it was, it had been quite large.
She didn't want any of that. None.
Pivoting sharply, Kagome hurried directly towards the pool. Climbing down a rocky incline, she bent her legs, muscles coiling and springing free as she leapt, body arching into a dive.
She made it into warm waters, kicking her legs madly. Gliding down from rippling surface to murky bottom of the pool, Kagome swam towards an opening in the rock wall. Something large and solid slid beneath her stomach then- closing around her waist and yanking.
Kagome's mouth opened in a gasp- pulled from the water with a hard tug. She coughed the second she surfaced, spitting out saltwater and holding onto the thing wrapped around her waist.
The tail.
Kagome's eyes widened, squirming and trying to get free as water dripped from her body, watching the pool drift further away as she ascended. The white scales felt smooth, warm beneath her touch.
Gritting her teeth, Kagome tried to dig her nails in, only to find them repelled by deceptively firm coils.
"You do not possess claws nor fangs sharp enough to cut through my hide, little human."
Kagome jolted, whipping her head up.
Half-lidded, piercing golden-yellow eyes stared back.
She gaped.
Slit pupils dilated.
The man observing her with a wry smile possessed beautifully ethereal features. Pointed ears, exotic magenta marks slashing across his pale cheeks. A silver fall of long hair spilt down over broad shoulders, hanging off the high rock he lounged upon that overlooked the pool. He'd propped both elbows on his bent tail, resting a strong chin upon one hand. The tips of his fingers resembled long, frighteningly sharp claws. Kagome blinked, trying to make sense of his form. His head and torso resembled a human male- physique impressive. From the waist down, however, an impossibly long snake tail sprawled out. She wasn't sure how vast it spread, a little preoccupied.
"Listen pal, I don't know what stage play I've stumbled across, but great effects. Top-notch. The puppet feels really lifelike," she minded some slick hair from her face. "The contacts are hot too, but I'd really like to be set down now."
"Would you?" he purred silkily, tail twisting to flip her upside down. Kagome gasped as black hair cascaded in front of her face, hanging towards the distant pool. "Unfortunately, this one has no interest in releasing you. It has been some time since prey has willingly stumbled into my den like a lost filly."
Kagome's mind raced. Prey. Shit.
"I-I didn't stumble in. The whirlpool-"
"Ah, yes," he hummed, rising from his perch languidly. His form moved smoothly, top half easing closer without fear of toppling from the rock his larger half wrapped around.
"Hn… few mortals are foolish enough to jump from that cliff at noon."
"I was pushed," Kagome seethed, bristling as he prodded and turned her like prized meat hanging off a hook. "Hey! Watch it!" She swiped an arm out, cheeks flushing. "Put me down this instant!"
The Snake-man tilted his head, "curious that of all people, my prey this time happens to be a woman from my homeland."
Kagome had been too startled to really think about it, but they were indeed conversing in Japanese.
"So you're a Japanese demon, huh?" she squeaked. "Awesome. We can talk more about that when the blood isn't rushing to my head. Put. Me. Down," a growl hissed free from her teeth.
His lips spread into a half-smirk, half sneer, exposing sharp, glistening fangs. He turned her upright once more, only to coil more segments of his strong, pale tail around her. A part of it twisted and slid around her knees, parting them.
Something twinged between her legs- a bead of sweat, hot and salty where it rolled down her thigh in a lazy trickle.
Kagome's eyes widened as the moving tail constricted beneath her chest, restricting the use of her arms and squeezing the air from her lungs like he'd trapped her within a huge fist.
His body loomed close, face hovering near. His touch felt oddly human upon her chin: grip as firm as any other arrogant male's.
"The harder you struggle, the tighter my grip," he uttered, gaze and voice almost gentle in their rich cadence.
Kagome fought to keep her breathing even, becoming still. He seemed intelligent and well spoken. If that was the case, talking her way out of the situation might be her best bet.
"For the record, I'm Kagome," she said, trying not to tremble. "W-what's your name, Mr Snake man?"
Ivory lashes fell shut and swept open in a slow blink. His lips parted, hesitating, as though out of practice with speaking it aloud.
"Sesshoumaru."
The Killing Perfection.
It sounded like a bad omen.
Kagome swallowed and kept blabbing. "Oh, that's cool. Your parents must've been anticipating a nice blood thirsty baby. I'm sure they're very proud."
His expression darkened, and Kagome quickly shut up. Clearly, that had been the wrong thing to say.
Sesshoumaru tipped his head to the side, breath fanning over her ear. "For the record," he uttered, archaic speech clearly unfamiliar with the term but imitating her, "my kind are not referred to as 'Snake Men.' I am a species of Naga."
"I-I see, sorry for using the wrong term," Kagome jolted as something flicked out close to her ear, nearly brushing the shell.
His tongue. Was he tasting the air?
Sesshoumaru made a low, pleasurable noise in his chest.
"You know… unless you're into playing with your food, maybe there's a reason you haven't eaten me yet," Kagome was ever the optimist.
"Pray tell: what would that reason be?" he asked, nose brushing and gliding into her hair. She felt his body roll as he inhaled deeply, having a ripple effect down his entire tail.
Kagome shivered. Oddly, the heat of him wrapped around her sent thrills racing up her spine due to every movement being intimately felt. The anticipation, fear and adrenaline mixed into a cocktail of absurdity. She felt its effects pour liquid heat into her lower abdomen.
"You want someone to talk to. Even people called 'The Killing Perfection' can get lonely. A-am I right in thinking you're the one who pulled me from the water?"
"Indeed."
Though she knew it wasn't out of any concern for her, Kagome nonetheless felt a stab of gratitude. "Thank you for that, I mean it. You're terrifying but much preferable to drowning."
Golden eyes danced. "Your compliments leave much to be desired."
Kagome's lips twitched. "Do you see what I mean, though? Maybe you just want a delightful conversationalist."
"Hn, perhaps," Sesshoumaru adjusted her, so that she loomed above him, his head dangerously close to her chest, "or perhaps I do just enjoy playing with my food."
Kagome jolted and gasped as a regal nose glided up the valley between her breasts, lips skimming, a teasing drag. She tried to squeeze her thighs together- prevented by a segment of his tail that rose and undulated slowly against her core, rubbing. Shamefully, Kagome moaned. Her wet dress, plastered to her form- pitifully could not hide the hard peaks of her nipples as her body heated.
"You respond quite enthusiastically to me, woman," Sesshoumaru purred, tongue flicking out to lick a long, wet arch up her chest, collarbone and neck. "Have you considered...you might enjoy my 'playing' with you?"
Panting, she quickly stopped her squirming hips. "L-let's talk about this," she swallowed, catching her breath. "We could make a game out of it. A real one."
Thankfully, his tail stopped.
"I am listening."
Okay, keep talking Kagome. She shifted, looking at the glittering slashes of magenta cutting over his tail like stripes. It was safer than getting distracted by his enchanting eyes.
"Is there a way out of here other than the pool?"
His silky voice caressed her hearing. "Yes."
"T-then let me run for 15 minutes. If I find the exit- you let me go. If you catch me, then fair enough, I'm yours to eat or... or whatever," Kagome muttered, cheeks heating. "But I can and will defend myself during the run."
Sesshoumaru's claw-tipped fingers grasped her chin, turning her face back to look at him.
His eyes were hypnotic in their richness of colour. Slit, inhuman pupils only drew her in instead of repelling. They smiled even as his lips remained still.
"Nothing would please me more," he purred, free hand gliding down her stomach, making it twitch. "You possess a silver tongue, girl. I have not met a prey that could hold a conversation before."
"Thanks, you're not so bad yourself- when you're not talking about eating me."
Chuckling with rich tones, the Naga loosened his tail, unwinding it so that she slid over his coils down to the walkway next to the pool.
Standing on her own two feet again, Kagome righted herself, glancing up at the looming Naga.
"Run along, little filly," he uttered languidly. His soft, masculine voice oddly put her at ease even as she prepared to run for her life. Perhaps this was how he lulled prey. Kagome chose not to examine why she'd responded so... favourably to him. It was the humidity. The adrenaline.
Kagome headed for a tunnel, realising half-way her mistake. It was pitch black inside, and she had no light.
Almost as immediately as she'd stepped inside- green flames flickered to life upon the walls. Torches lit her way, scattered further ahead.
Steeling herself, Kagome took a breath, bursting into a run.

One More Night
Tumblr media
It has been exactly a month since my last fic and I’m back with more Enji. Inspired by a request from @dyceaverruncus
Todoroki Enji x Male!Reader Word Count: 2.4k Contains: High school sweethearts, prospective pro heroes, homophobia as a plot point, anal, unprotected sex, jealousy, blackmail. Possibility for a sequel if I get the drive
It was a normal assignment, nothing shocking to the 1st year hero class: random pairs would be assigned, and the prospective heroes had to come up with a combination move. Something that utilized both of their quirks.
Your stomach dropped at the announcement of your partner, the teacher’s droning voice still ringing in your ears. “(L/N) and Todoroki.”
Enji Todoroki was nothing if not intimidating. He was all broad shoulders and sour faces and perfect grades, he had his sights set on number one, and he’d get there or die trying.
You considered yourself strong, at least. The ability to produce tornadoes was nothing to sneeze at. But you still cowered in your seat when Enji approached you. He sized you up with a discerning glare before letting out a sigh.
“Try not to get in my way, yeah?”
You took that order to heart. You listened to every word he said, performing each movement and changing your form at his barked orders. It paid off, the flaming twister created by your combined efforts garnered awe from your peers.
Since then, Enji couldn’t seem to shake you.
For the remainder of your high school life, you had attached yourself to Enji’s side. First you were an annoying suckerfish, then a capable partner, then the unfortunate object of Enji’s affections.
His first confession to you was awkward, late in your 2nd year. He had confronted you after an evening of studying with his ever-aggressive demeanor, and you worried in the pit of your stomach that you had done something wrong.
“(Y/N), I…” Enji crossed his arms, refusing to meet your eyes. “Listen, you’re really strong, and… it… I feel like…” He stumbled over his words, like the feelings he was intending to express simply weren’t in his vocabulary. He centered himself with a deep breath, finding the strength to meet your eyes. “You tell me first.”
“Huh?” Your brows furrowed together, and you gave your friend a quizzical look.
“I know you feel the same way I do, right?” Enji’s cheekbones tinted a light red, “You… you feel like we should be… more than friends, right?”
Realization washed over your face, and a million thoughts scrambled through your head. Enji swung that way? He knew you liked him? He liked you back? The answers could be seen in his eyes, you could almost see the tumultuous mix of fear, frustration, impatience fighting like waves in the oceans of his eyes.
Your lips quirked into a small smile, and you stepped closer. Your arms draped over Enji’s shoulders, and you pressed a quick kiss to his lips. “I love you too, Enji.”
Those simple words opened a floodgate within him. Burly arms wound around your chest and held you close in a crushing grip, his face landed in your shoulder and you could feel the fabric of your shirt starting to wet with tears.
You had both agreed to keep your relationship a secret until you both graduated and Enji was able to move out. Once you were able to, you’d rent an apartment together and apply to work at the same agencies.
It was smooth sailing after that. You both graduated with good grades, he was in the Big Three of course, how could he not be? You hadn’t been so lucky, but he promised to use the advantage to get you into the same agency.
Your new apartment was cozy, a single bedroom in downtown Musutafu. Enji took over the cooking duties when you accidentally melted a plastic stirring spoon, and you were pleased with the development. It was your favorite when you’d wake in the morning to find him cooking in his pajama pants and an apron, scratches and bites from the night before visible on his back and neck.
“Have I ever told you how gorgeous you are?” You cooed, leaning upwards to kiss his cheek.
“Many times, yes.” He elbowed you in the side, but smiled, keeping his eyes on the eggs and bacon in the pan.
You hummed, taking your seat at the kitchen table, hands inching towards your favorite camera. You’d had it since you were in U.A., and you’d taken countless pictures of Enji in all his glory. He would complain at your sentimentality, but never stopped you.
Click!
A photo churned out of the camera’s slot, and you let it develop before your eyes. Enji’s muscular back was gorgeous in the morning light, his skin marred by raised pink scratches and deep red bruises.
“Do you really need a picture right now?” He grumbled, setting two plates on the table, then filling two mugs with coffee. He put cream and sugar in yours, preferring to take his own black.
“Of course I do, I need to remember how breathtaking you are when you’re off being the number one hero.” You winked, snapping another picture when he took his apron off. You were met with an eye roll, but no further complaints.
•••
Life with Enji was a dream, but of course, you had to wake up at some point.
It was your day off, and Enji arrived home early, clutching a magazine in his hand. He was never one to pay attention to the tabloids, so something was off for him to even acknowledge them.
Once the magazine was wordlessly dropped in front of you, it became clear why he had brought it home.
Hero Commission Cracks Down: “No Unnatural Conduct will be Tolerated!”
Following the reveal of a relationship between minor-league heroes Matterhorn and Watcher, a representative of the Hero Commission came forward at a press conference. He stated that the Commission “does not endorse this form of relation”, and will be “conducting investigations into those suspected of unnatural conduct”. When asked for further comment, the representative claimed that the Hero Commission already suspects certain small-time heroes of unsavory activities, and they are “concerned for the image of heroes as a whole”. Any heroes found to be setting a bad example are to have their licenses revoked until they go through rehabilitation.
When you finished reading, you gave Enji a quizzical look, and he sighed. “I don’t think we should continue with this.”
“Really? I know we’ve been wanting to be heroes forever, but… you’re just ready to throw us out?”
“No, I’m not saying that. I don’t want to, but it’s probably best for us to part ways.”
Your eyes turned wide and watery as you stood, pulling Enji down so you could sob into his shoulder. “Can we… can we just have one more night? Please?”
“...fine. One night. But then… one of us will have to start packing. I don’t want either of our futures ruined over this.”
The rest of the evening was tense. You ordered takeout and cuddled up on the couch to see what was on TV, but nearly every news channel was covering the announcement from the commission. There were pictures of the pair of heroes, crying as they publicly said goodbye to each other. You knew this was why Enji wanted to leave, he wouldn’t be able to bounce back from humiliation like this.
Normally Enji would sleep near the middle of the bed, warming the blankets around him. Tonight he stayed firmly on his side, leaving you shivering under the covers. You sighed and rolled over, snuggling up to your soon-to-be ex.
“Enji, please… if we have one more night, let’s at least enjoy it.”
There was a quiet grunt as he reached for the nightstand, retrieving a familiar bottle and placing it in your hand. Usually he’d give you a hand in preparing yourself, but it seemed like tonight he wasn’t in the mood.
You were quick in your preparations; slicking up one finger and pressing it into your hole, then two, then three. Three of your fingers were about as thick as just one of Enji’s, but you didn’t mind a stretch.
Once you felt you were ready, you patted Enji’s shoulder with your clean hand, and he rolled onto his back. The tent that had formed under the blankets made it clear that he had been preparing himself too.
You hummed as you ran your tongue along the underside of Enji’s cock, then coated it generously with lube. He was huge, you still weren’t quite used to it. You doubted you could find any toy that matched up.
The lights were off, so you couldn’t see Enji’s intense turquoise eyes like you wanted. You tried to imagine them. Were they full of love? Regret? Sadness? Was he angry, or reluctant, or just blank? You wished you could tell what he was thinking, but all you could do was position your entrance upon the head of his cock.
You lowered yourself down with gentle movements, your own cock bouncing as you slowly wiggled your hips down, and you let out a pleased sigh when you took him to the hilt, Enji letting out his own low growl.
It took you a few minutes to situate yourself to the stretch. No matter how many times you did this, you never got used to it, though you supposed you’d never have the chance to anyway.
Finally, your hips began to move. Slow, shallow movements where you lifted your hips a few inches or so before lowering yourself down. One of Enji’s large hands came to rest on your hip, the other wrapping around your cock to pump it in time with your movements.
Your hands came to rest on the firm chest below you, and for a moment everything was as it should be. Nothing else in the world existed, just the two of you, and the spark between your hearts. Enji tried to guard his own feelings, but you knew he felt the connection too. You knew he didn’t want to leave you, but he had no other choice. This was his future on the line.
As you began to move faster, sending Enji’s cock deeper, your noises of pleasure grew in volume and frequency. You bit down on your hand to keep yourself quiet, you couldn’t let the neighbors hear, especially not now.
Enji was having a difficult time containing himself too, low grunts rumbling through his chest while his hips canted up to meet your own. He was beautiful. Even if you couldn’t see him, just feeling and hearing and loving, he was beautiful.
You came undone much quicker than you would’ve liked, your seed splattering on Enji’s chest. You wanted so badly to see it, how gorgeous he was painted in your cum, but you’d seen it many times before. You even had a few pictures, wanting to preserve your work of art.
Enji had a lot more stamina than you, continuing to move you by his grip on your waist even when you tired yourself out. This was something you couldn’t get with a toy, nor with anyone besides him. The strong, warm hands encompassing your waist, calloused fingertips digging into the delicate skin there while he brought himself to his own edge.
Normally he would pull himself out, let loose on your stomach or onto the sheets, but this time he stayed inside. You could feel his warmth filling you, making your stomach feel heavy and satisfied.
“I love you, Enji. You whispered, leaning down to peck his lips. He was never one for words of affection, so it didn’t surprise you when he didn’t reply.
But you wished he would, just this once.
•••
The next day, your agency had a meeting regarding the announcement from the day prior. Unnatural conduct was reason for termination, and anyone that correctly reported an offender would receive a bonus that month.
After work, Enji was quick to pull the moving boxes from the closet, having saved them since the two of you moved in together. You approached him as he sat to start packing his books, giving him a light tap on the shoulder.
“Enji, I…” You took a deep breath to steady yourself before looking back down. “I want you to promise me something, okay?” When you were met with an affirmative grunt, you continued. “Please don’t move on. I still love you, so so much, and… I can’t bear the thought of losing you.” You knelt beside him, leaning your head on his shoulder. “Save yourself for me, so we can be together when this is over.”
“...I can’t make any promises. I want to keep suspicion off myself.”
You figured he’d say that, and you let out a sigh as you fished a picture from your pocket. It was a photo of him, gazing up at you with a soft smile, face covered in your cum and your cock still resting against his cheek. You held it up for him to see, the fear in his eyes not going unnoticed.
“If you don’t, I can’t make any promises either, that this won’t get leaked anonymously.” Your hand came to rest on his shoulder, and you planted a light kiss on his cheek. “I have plenty more. I doubt you’d want any getting released.”
“I’ll… I’ll do my best, alright?” His face blushed bright red, and he averted his eyes from the picture.
“Just keep it in mind.” You petted a hand through his hair, kissing the top of his head as you stood. “I have a night shift, I’ll be back in the morning… I love you, Enji.”
You didn’t hear an ‘I love you too’, but you didn’t expect it either. The photo stayed in your pocket as you left the apartment, taking the familiar route to your agency.
Weeks, months, years passed. The panic over ‘perverted’ heroes had washed over, but many of the policies still stayed. Your photos of Enji remained in a yellow envelope, tucked away in a box with a few other keepsakes.
At least, until the latest news broke. Major-league hero Endeavor was engaged. Rei, she was pretty, she seemed to complement Enji well, in both appearance, demeanor, and quirk.
But just like he didn’t make a promise, you didn’t make one either.
The news broke the next day: leaked nude photos of Endeavor, the tabloids showed the tamer ones, but described others. Pictures of him with semen on his face and chest, of him with another man whose face had been cut out of the photo with scissors.
If he was going to break your heart, there was no reason you shouldn’t break his.

Title: Set me Free
The big military grunt is lying in the middle of an ocean of navy blue sheets, utterly nude as the sunlight beams through the window and kisses his rigid abs with a warm, golden haze. From all the men who ever fell unconscious in your bed, Syverson has to be the most delicious treat of them all.
Taut muscles stretch across an incredibly large, triangle-shaped upper body and thick, solid thighs. His glowing skin is covered by a dusting of black hairs which flow from his wide chest to his torso, leading to his delightfully enormous cock that nestles between a bundle of dark curls.
He is the epitome of masculinity, especially with that thick beard which he refuses to shave.
You sit on your small IKEA chair, lounging lazily with your ankles crossed together while sipping your latte macchiato and enjoying your new morning view.
The big man usually sleeps around 3 to 4 “generous” hours if he’s lucky to get any proper sleep at all, and not be consumed by night terrors. It’s something you’ve learnt to deal with, at least sort of. But with the amount of alcohol he consumed, he’s been out of it even after you woke up.
You indulge yourself looking at his sleeping form. Watching as his chest gently rises and falls and his cock semi-hardens from the stream of blood that gravitates to his loins.
If only you could wake up to this impressionistic vision of beauty every day for the rest of your life. But no, you had to go and get yourself involved with a military bloke, a captain, nonetheless.
Finally, he begins shifting on the mattress, the muscles of his chest flex inward and his stomach sucks in, followed by a low roar emitted from his defined lips.
There is much of the beast in him, sometimes even more than the man.
You capture your lower lip beneath your teeth, waiting with mirth and anticipation for him to open his beautiful blue eyes.
His face curls with what you assume to be a mild sensation of pain. The strong scent of whiskey wafts from his body as if he bathed in a brewery. You wouldn’t be surprised if the captain is nursing a minor hangover, which you have the perfect cure for.
The metal bars shake and then thud against the wall as he foolishly attempts to move his arms. Sharp, ringing sounds thunder in your ears as the small chain of his cuffs grind against the peg. You smile, placing your empty cup on the study, watching your man as he wakes from his deep slumber to find himself in captivity.
“What in the n…”
His eyes blink open. He observes the leather cuffs around his wrists and begins moving around wildly, attempting to free himself by shaking his hands back and forth with force. The bed creaks and shifts beneath his weight. A slight tension rises in your chest; a man as strong as Syverson might actually break the bars and the bed too, possibly.
You clear your throat to redirect his attention, only to be greeted by a furious glare.
“Morning, Captain.” you hail, your voice smooth and relaxed, contradicting Syverson’s blazing temper. A mixture of daze and anger drapes his face as he focuses on your sight.
You wonder, does he even remember the little performance from last night? Because you sure as hell are going to remember that for the rest of your life.
He angrily narrows his blue eyes, giving you a menacing look. His jaw clenches hard beneath the rough thicket of his beard.
Syverson is a force to be reckoned with; he is not a man who enjoys these types of silly games. Everything about him is hard, down to business, and with him saying the final word in the conversation.
Too bad that right now he is no longer in a position of power.
“What the hell is this?”
His eyes take you in, gliding down the sheer black night robe you’re wearing, intentionally left untied. A hint of the roundness of your breasts winks at him through the open slit and the very outlines of your nipples tease through the translucent fabric. There is a flinch in his cock as more blood stirs down to fill his organ at the sight of your divine body.
You decide to step up your game, placing your legs on the floor and spreading them to allow a glimpse of your ripe little peach. Syverson attempts to lift his head and get a better look while your giggles fill the room.
“This, my darling, is your punishment for one, being a complete asshole and embarrassing me in front of your friends-”
Syverson gives you a slow eye-roll and attempts to fight the cuffs again to no avail. “Je-sus, woman! You’re still at this? Fine. Remove these cuffs and I’ll give you my very ardent apology.”
You chuckle and shake your head, rising from your chair and moving toward the bed. The pink silicone toy Syverson bought for you hangs from between your manicured fingernails as you wave it around casually. Sy follows your movements with the diligence of a trained special forces soldier, learning every possible detail as if you’re the enemy right now.
Might as well be.
“What are you doing, woman?” he speaks slowly, his voice holding a tad of a warning as you climb onto the bed and settle yourself between his feet. You sit straddled, ankles folded beneath your behind, letting your juicy cunt to be openly presented to the helpless man.
You can hear the low pitched growl rumbling in his chest, like an approaching storm. It makes your skin prickle and your lungs squeeze inside your ribs. Even bound to your bed, he effortlessly holds a brooding presence. A huge Texas bear, all muscles and dripping of control. Every time you sleep together, he pins you down and charges your body as if you’re some target that needed conquering.
He never leaves you a fighting chance. Not up til now.
“Two,” you emphasize the word, lazily trailing the tip of the toy against your inner thigh. His eyes follow every movement, his jaw locked tightly. “- you left me wet and waiting last night, after giving me a very nice singing performance.”
The big man scowls as the vague memory of banging at your door starts sinking in. By the look on his face, he hates every single moment of it ever happening.
Probably prefers blaming you rather than taking responsibility.
“Don’t be like that, Texas.” you lick your lips, offering him a cheerful smile. “You have a gorgeous singing voice.”
“Final warnin’, kitten.”
You click your tongue and smile mischievously. Discarding the toy at his foot, you move on your knees, giving him a vixen grin before beginning to crawl forward. The delicate material of your gown caresses his naked skin as you snake your way between his open legs until you are at his pelvis, facing his very solid cock.
Your nimble fingers reach to grasp him, barely managing to circle his generous width. A low groan forms in his throat as you squeeze him roughly and run your hand up and down.
Syverson looks mesmerizing, the temptation to take a polaroid photo and have this moment forever imprinted in chemicals and light tickles your brain. More than anything, you ponder at the war that wages in his mind:the conflict between wanting back his control and enjoying the way your hand kneads him.
“This is an ego thing, isn’t it?” you ask him while licking your lips, inching your head closer and closer to the swollen head.
His chest rises and sinks urgently as his breath becomes heavier. Involuntarily, he bounces his groin, his body begging for your mouth.
You allow the tip to graze you, collecting a few drops of pre-cum on the plush of your lips, letting it spread on the velvet flesh. “I bet they teach you how to withstand torture and questioning in case you’ll fall captive.”
“Not that type of torture,” he replies and then gasps as your tongue dips at the small hole in his cock. You push against it, tasting the salty drops before circling your tongue around the head. His teetering gasps and the way his biceps swell larger when he moves in his cuffs are enough to make you throb with arousal.
No wonder Syverson likes to be the one in control; seeing someone so helpless and bound at your mercy is quite the aphrodisiac. This is especially true when it’s a man like Syverson, a brooding hulk who weighs more than twice your size.
Ironically, Sy doesn’t even need to yell or use his fists to be intimidating. He can talk anyone into submission with his voice. He has this energy about him, a confidence that makes men, even who are just as big, to cower with fear.
Even now, as he lies in captivity, his eyes are shooting daggers at you, sending you a clear message: “You’re goin’ to regret this, darlin’.”The punishment is probably going to involve you being unable to walk for a week, but you’re certain that it’s worth every second of him being subdued to your bed.
Ever so slowly, your tongue glides down his length, tracing the ridges and the thick tendons that throb against your tongue. Motion-synced with the captain’s forced moans, you roll your tongue and slide it all the way back up.
You pause, staring at him as he pants, eyes hazy with lust, his abs sucked in. There’s a strained anticipation on his face, begging for the wet cavern of your mouth, but he never utters a word, only sucking in his lower lip with desperation. Your big army gruff doesn’t beg.
He“ain’t no pooch like them city boys.”
Pumping his cock with one hand, you give him a mischievous grin while pressing your cheek against the muscle of his thigh, feeling it flex beneath your touch. Every sinew of his body is straining, anxious for pleasure and release.
“You want to fuck my mouth, baby?” he releases a low growl, his eyes narrowing at you, his teeth grinding together. “You know I do, so put that damn mouth of yours to good use.”
Your nails trail around his thigh, tickling him feverishly. You watch how he jolts against your touch while one hand still squeezes his cock, making torturous pumps that are too slow and moderated to bring him closer to what he needs.
“Yeah, you want your big fat cock inside my mouth?” you raise your face to his towering erection, your lips part open slowly. You leaned down to lick him up and down before biting onto him, only to watch how he spasms with ache.
“You know I do, kitten.”
To your disappointment, he still remains composed, despite the anger and arousal that spikes his blood. It infuriates you; you want him to beg, to say he is sorry for being such an idiot and for ruining your first night together ever since he returned.
You squeeze him hard enough to make him grunt and descend to devour his cock again. Your lips wrap around him, tasting the bitter salt on the lush of your tongue before sucking him hard, just the way he likes it. Your throat relaxes to take him deeper, deep enough to hear those mellow groans and watch as he throws his head back, blissful at the way your warmth surrounds him.
You suck harder, working up and down his shaft, humming with him inside your mouth while your hand twirls and tugs at the base of his cock. The vibration of your hums makes him grunt, and those grunts and moans are the sweetest melodies to your ears.
It’s easy to lose yourself in the sensation, in these sounds and the way he fills your mouth. You’re in love with him, your heart flutters in the thought of making him feel good, especially since you’re forced to spend so much time apart. It wrecks your heart every time, yet the thought of not having the captain in your life at all is unacceptable.
He longed for you too, you are certain of it. And not just for your mouth and the way his cock reaches the edge of your throat while you pump in and out. He has a shit way of showing that, being such a hardass and saying “I don’t do romance, darlin’” while slapping your ass as if you were some broodmare.
But the raging ocean in his eyes is enough to say all those words he could never utter.
You hear his low voice cracking and sense the swelling of his cock against your tongue. Quickly, you withdraw with a loud wet pop as his cock exits your mouth.
“Fuck!” you hear him utter, the cuffs dangling against the bar while he frowns at you. “Why did ya stop, kitten?”
Wiping your mouth with the back of your hand, you lift your head, allowing a sneer to linger on your lips like something out of a horror film. You arch your back and crawl on top of his body, your knees bracing themselves at each side of his wide frame, and your nails scratching the slight fur of his skin.
“You’re not coming in my mouth, dear.”
You climb onto the big bear until finally, you are sitting on his chest. You slightly moan at the softness of his hairy chest that tickles the drenched spot between your thighs. Syverson grits his teeth, his jaw pushed forward, eyes red with rage altering between your naked breasts and your dominating glare. The soothing palm you press against his coarse cheek does nothing but humiliate him, which of course, makes you press your lips and coo at him tauntingly.
“Still not going to apologize?”
“Untie me first and I’ll give you the apology you deserve,” he demands, still struggling to remain in control but you can see the fuzzy haze of arousal in his eyes, the way his lips part and his breath becomes rigid. He can smell you, he senses the wetness of your mound as you sit on his chest. It makes the animal in its cage become enraged.
You shake your head, sighing with false disappointment and lift yourself to your knees, carefully targeting yourself above his face with preparation.
“I consider this a prize, Sy,” you murmur, looking down onto the slightly scarred face of your soldier who now returns a fascinated gaze to you. “I know how much you love to eat my pussy.”
He scoffs at you yet still licks his lips with anticipation as you lower yourself onto his inviting mouth. This was always his thing. There was no doubt that Syverson mastered the art of oral sex as another form of domination. Yes, he was an attentive lover. Making his lady squirm with ecstasy brought him joy, yet it was also another way he controlled you.
This is going to be tricky, yet you’re devoted to turning his little game around.
“You better make me come, Sy,” you warn, landing your pelvis onto his lips and releasing a deep moan as you feel the warmth of the captain’s skilful mouth around your mound.
“F-u-c-k!” you utter loudly, placing your hands above the bars for leverage. His velvet tongue meets your cunt, drawing wet circles around the seam and collecting your juices before plunging into you with earnest devotion. You gasp and throw your head back, clenching yourself around him and riding his bearded jaw.
“Like it when I fuck your mouth, Captain?” you call out breathless, trying to mimic the way he speaks to you when he shoves his cock down your throat on the occasion and fucks your mouth.
“Yes, like that, thrust your tongue inside me.”
You gasp the command at him, moving harder, your clit brushing against the moustache of his beard, eliciting a tickling sensation that stimulates you to the point of losing the ability to speak coherent words. Yet, you claw your talons onto control, your knuckles turning white around the edge of the headboard as you fist it in your sweaty palms and buck your hips and ride his face.
“Yes!!! Fuck! Like this! Suck it, harder!”
Even in his subdued position, Sy sustains every inch of mastery, eating you out as if you tasted of heaven. His tongue glides between your slit and your clit, rolling across your delicate nub. The sobs you make only urge him to increase the pressure around your clit and thrust his tongue harder. And just when you think you are close enough, the bastard mumbles something against your lips and the vibration of his bass throws you across the edge.
You come violently, slamming the headboard against the wall and pushing yourself hard onto his face. You can feel yourself soaking his beard yet he continues to lick you dry, sending slight aftershocks through your body.
Breathing heavily, you slowly climb off his face, looking at him as he glares at you darkly. You can see the little cracks appearing behind his eyes, his dominative nature stretching to the point of pain. He wasn’t amused to begin with but now he is close to being berserk.
Still sitting on his chest, you turn your sweaty chin across your shoulder to glimpse at his tortured cock which now looks painfully red and desperate for some attention.
“Are you done playing games?”
There it is, the thing you’ve yearned for. Despair, helplessness. His brow is covered with sweat and his feet kick at the mattress. Oddly enough, you hardly care anymore if he apologizes or not. You know he won’t, it’s not because he doesn’t care, it’s because it’s all part of the battle.
And if anything, Syverson hates losing.
“Not even close,” you answer while you crawl backwards, maintaining fierce eye contact with your enemy. Your glare returns the fight which is now escalated to a whole new level. Like a cougar ready for assault, you snake yourself to the starting point. Your hand meets with the pink toy, which is laid just where you left it.
His eyebrow crooks up, looking at you suspiciously and somewhat concerned. “What are you doing?”
You hold the toy firmly in your hand while spreading your legs across each of his. Your index finger smoothes over the length of the silicone toy, flirting with the on and off button against your tip.
“Remember how you told everyone at the bar that I fuck myself while you watch on Skype?”
“Stop it,” he shoots a warning glare, his neck stretching up with frustration. You tilt your head, puckering your lips sweetly into a pout before flicking the toy on, letting it vibrate in your grasp.
“For fuck’s sake, woman!” he growls and his eyes widen as you position the toy against your clit and instantly begin gasping as it brings you to incredible pleasure in less than a second.
“Oh god, baby!!!!” you gasp, closing your eyes and curling your toes. You massage your clit slowly, letting the vibration coax you just enough before the sensation turns painful. You slip the entire length of the toy inside you while screaming loud enough for your neighbours to hear.
“Sy!!!!” his name is on your lips while you drive the vibrator in and out, angling it at the right spots that make you mewl like a whore. Your eyes flick open to glimpse at the man who stares at you, eyes drenched with hopeless desire, mouth gaping open as his cock flinches with pain and need. The fact that he cannot have you right now is throwing the animal in him to a new length of frustration he never knew before. He squirms on the bed, throwing his head back and then shaking it at you, his lips pressed to a thin line beneath his messy beard.
“Fuck this, I am sorry! Okay?!”
You pump the toy in and out and yip while your finger ticks the button for a higher speed. “Not… good… enough!” you cry out, feeling your walls shuddering. You look at Syverson’s cock, imagining it inside you instead, his wider girth, the warmth of his body.
You need him, not a toy to replace him and still, you come, your body clenching around the soft silicone.
“Will you stop with the games already!? I said I was sorry!” he shouts at you with his face on the verge of panic. His eyes were glossy with anxiety and misery. If you weren’t as desperate to make love to him, if only you didn’t miss to feel him, sunken at your depth, you would have been able to go for hours.
You chuckle viciously, brushing a sticky strand of hair from your forehead while finally shifting yourself to straddle his hips. His chest heaves with eagerness, his breath loud and urgent as your fingers seizes his cock one more time and you lift your hips. He growls once you lubricate his erection against your slit before taking him into your core.
Ever so slowly you let yourself fall on his shaft, taking him inch by inch, enjoying the pure harmony that releases from both of your throats.
“Fuck!!!!” Sy shouts, his frustration finally being answered by the slippery heat of your taut canal. Not stopping, you sink down until the soft edge of your ass rests neatly on his tight balls. Until he is bottomed out inside you, pushed against the rim of your womb.
Painfully engorged your organs throb against one another, blood pumping fast with fury, yet you remain still. You give Syverson one last cruel smirk of triumph.
“Oh come on, woman!!!!” he grunts and bucks his hips, making you rise with him as he lifts you from the bed with ease. “I’m sorry, okay? I love you, I didn’t mean to say that stupid thing. I am just a jarhead, I don’t know how to be different.”
The evil grin quickly fades from your face. For a second, your heart beats abnormally fast while your eyes feel moist. A joyous spasm runs through the knot in your stomach.
“You love me?”
Sy looks at you with a deep frown, the usual fierceness his eyes hold is now replaced by something as fragile as a butterfly wing. You know better than to touch it.
He never said it before, not to you, not to any other woman.
You are flooded by a whirlpool of emotions, hitting you all at once, assaulting your heart and your loins. Your senses are at a complete loss, forgetting all about the stupid battle for control. You want nothing but to have him, to fuck him until you cry out of love. Lifting yourself up, you begin to ride him with incredible force. Hips rising up and down on his girth, nails digging into his torso and sliding up his chest.
“Sy!” You cry out his name, feeling full of him. He groans with amazement, finally praised by the sweetness of your body which he achingly longed for in months.
“Yes, baby,” he calls for you, jerking his hips to meet you as you sink down and throw your head back. “Ride me, fuck me, darlin’.”
You roll your hips and dance on his cock vigorously, your back arching while you sing with ecstasy. His cock is swelling inside you, locked between your closing walls as they attempt to drain him of everything he has. You know it won’t last long yet right now you don’t care, you don’t care if he comes without you.
Because he loves you, the warmth that spreads from your heart onward is just as good.
Yet still, you come, grinding your clit against his pubic bone while tears spring down your cheeks. You hear his voice calling your name in a blur, throwing an onslaught of praises before he lifts you up with his body.
All spent, you collapse flat onto his body, humming to yourself as the hot sprout of his semen fills your womb. Your head rests on his chest, listening to the beating drum within while your fingers draw circles onto his skin.
“I love you,” you say it back, slightly tilting your head to meet his eyes. He smiles at you relaxed, finally released, his breath is still irregular, small gasps of air break between his lips.
“Now uncuff me, kitten, let’s get some breakfast.”
You lift your head and slide further up so your face is levelled with his, your fingers play with his beard while you observe him.
“I am not sure I am done switching just yet.”

vi - water is an enemy

warnings: drowning, panic attacks
"All I need is to see your face. Feel my blood running, swear the sky's falling."
You bounce your leg excitedly as you look out the window of the bus, unable to contain yourself. Katsuki clicks his tongue beside you, "Calm down, idiot."
"I'm sorry, but I just get so excited when I get to use my quirk." You beam at him and Katsuki has to look away to hide his faint blush, unbeknownst to him that his blush reaches the tips of his ears.
Once he feels like he's calmed down, he turns back to you, scowl evident on his face. His gaze falls on the pink sakura hairpin he gave you yesterday and clenches his jaw when he feels yet another blush coming his way.
Can I calm down for one minute?! He mentally yells at himself before the bus comes to a halt, telling them they've reached their destination. You almost immediately get on your feet, quickly hopping off the bus. You look around you with sparkling eyes, the place where you were going to test out your quirks was definitely huge and impressive.
Mina hooks her arm around you, pulling you closely to her side as you a short hero clad in white and what looks like a space suit stands in front of you and starts talking.
"As you know, my quirk is called black hole. Just like a black hole, I can suck up anything and easily turn it into dust." You raise your brows, impressed by her powerful quirk. "But my quirk can also easily kill others." You feel your body stiffen. Memories of all the quirk trainers your mother hired for you, looking at you with such fearful eyes. They always screamed the same thing before running away, all bloodied and bruised.
"Get away from me you monster!"
A soft hand around your wrist pulls you out of your daze. You look to your right, raising a brow at Katsuki's alarmed state. "The hell are you spacing out for, idiot? Keep your eyes on the villains." He points forward, making you follow his finger.
In front of you, there is a black and purple warp gate and many other individuals who you did not recognize. Their bloodlust confirmed you that they weren't here to help you guys with your quirk training.
Katsuki starts pulling you back and you notice all your other classmates running back to where the gate of the facility is located. Before you could even get to the exit, the dame black and purple warp gate appears in front of you, trapping you all between himself and the villains.
Everything is moving so fast- suddenly Katsuki and Kirishima are jumping towards the villain using their quirks at him before the black and purple matter encases you all. You look around and see nothing but darkness. You feel your chest contract and your body starts to shake.
"/Heroes should not have panic attacks. How do you expect to save others when you'll be the one being saved?/" You can hear his deep voice in your head, you feel like breaking it open to take him out of there.
Tears brim your eyes and before you lose it, you see blue. You feel yourself falling and you look around, seeing Izuku falling into the water as well.
"Izuku!" You yell, catching his attention. "Y/n! I'm fine! Let's just swim to land and we'll regroup there-"
"It's not that!" Your tears blur your vision as your body shakes in fear. "I can't swim-"
The last thing you see is Izuku's expression turn to panic before hitting the water. You blink away your tears, looking up as you extended your arm out, kicking your feet as hard as you can, but to no avail.

Finally, summertime!
You run through your father's yacht, your stuffed bunny in your arm as your giggles fill the halls. Crew members smile and greet you as you pass by them and you do the same thing back.
You reach the back of the boat, eyes looking out at the vast ocean in front of you. You pitter patter your way towards the very back of the boat, watching as many small white bubbles come up as the propellors push the boat forward.
It all happens so fast; one moment you're peering over the edge of the boat to see if you can spot any dolphins, the next the big waves causes the boat to get a little rocky, causing you to fall off.
"Miss Y/n!" You hear one of the crew members shout, the lady with the pretty ponytail. Through the stinging sea water in your eyes as your arms and legs flail around in desperation to not drown.
"Dad-! Daddy!" You call out, choking on the sea water. You can see your father standing at the dock as your mother dives into the water in an attempt to save you as well.
He's just standing there. Arms crossed in front of his chest and an unimpressed scowl on his face. You were drowning, and he was just standing there.
You feel your body sink, water around you as your stuffed bunny floats out of your grasp. Your vision is blurry, your lungs and eyes sting, your body is aching, but modt of all, your heart clenches at the memory of your father doing nothing and instead watches as you drown.
The feeling of a hand wrapping around your wrist before being pulled upwards forces you to stay conscious, but not enough to wake up. You feel that you're no longer in the water and something hard on your back. No, more like, you're on something hard.
Finally, your lungs burn as you cough out water, your body spasming as you let out the water from areas where there shouldn't be water.
The soft feeling of your mother's body holding yours relieves you- she's just fine after diving into the water. You open your eyes, still heaving as you look up. The first thing you see is your father, a look of disgrace in his face ad he looks down on you.
"And you want to be a hero? You can't even swim." He sneers.
"She's still four years old!" You hear your mother yell.
"She's already four years old!"
Your surroundings begin to turn as you feel your eyelids getting heavier. Your mother notices this and starts frantically shaking you to keep you awake, but you can't fight the darkness that envelops your weak body.
"Y/n! Baby!" Your mother's voice sounds muffled, as if she's really far away. "Please wake up! Y/n! Y/n!"
Tumblr media
"Y/n wake up!" Izuku's voice pulls you out of the darkness and you sit up immediately, gasping for air. He rubs a hand on your back, helping you calm down as you try and collect yourself.
You look around and see two more of your classmates looking at you worriedly, a girl who you remember is Tsuyu Asui and the little grape boy named Mina? Mint? Menti?
Once you've recollected yourself, you stand up, looking around to see you four standing on a boat. You sigh, of course it's a boat. Of course I almost drowned.
As the three of them discuss the current situation, you look around you, trying to find a way to get back to solid ground. Something catches your eye- in the corner, you see a shark-like fin coming towards you. As you take a better look, you notice that there are several others and that you four are surrounded.
"Asui!"
"Call me Tsu."
"No time for that!" You yell, running back to them. "Use your quirk to wrap your tongue around the boys. Do your best to not let go of them." She immediately does as told. You warp an arm around her waist, jumping as high as you can.
"Are those villains?!" Grape boy yells, pointing at the people in the water. "What's your plan?" Tsuyu asks, to which you ignore. "Do you guys trust me?" You ask and the three of them immediately nod.
"Izu! I'll leave the landing safely on the ground to you!" You yell, throwing them as far as you can towards where solid ground is. Fingerless gloves appear around your hands and you turn your body, fist making contact with the boat's roof first as you punch it down. The boat is pushed down to the ground by your punch, creating a crack.
The water along with the villains all go down like your soap and water in a drain when you take a bath. The entire 'ship-wreck' situation is no more when the water isn't present anymore. You use your speed quirk to quickly make your way to your classmates, worried about whether they landed safely or not.
"Izu!" You yell, smiling when you see all three of them standing and okay. "You guys landed alright?"
The three of them nod and as Tsuyu and grape boy lead the way, Izuku stops you with a grin expression on his face. "What's up?" You ask.
Out of no where, he pulls you into a hug. It feels so warm and genuine, a similar feeling to what your mother gives you. "I'm here for you." He whispers, his arms tightening around you. You smile, hugging him back. "Thank you, Izuku."
Tumblr media
The three of you run to where you can hear fighting and see Aizawa battling with the creepy guy with hands all over him. Yours eyes dart to the wound on Aizawa's elbow which makes you question, just what was that villain's quirk?
"You're a little too out of your element here, eraserhead. You're much better working stealthily, you're known for surprise attacks not fighting head to head." The villain speaks up, his voice raspy and creepy but all the more exhilarating.
"Then I should be a good match for you." You speak up, standing and ignoring your classmates' multiple attempts to tell you to stay hidden.
"Y/n what are you doing?! Stay back and let the pros deal with this!" Aizawa yells, ticking you off. Two black daggers with neon blue accents that run down the edges of the blades appear in your hands. "And what do you expect us to do if you die and we're rendered helpless?" You ask, pushing the blade in front of you in a horizontal manner.
"And if you get hurt, what am I supposed to tell your parents?! Just stay back!"
"First of all, correction, parent. Singular. You'll only be speaking with my mom. Second, training to become a hero and getting hurt in the process is all in a day's work!" You activate your speed quirk, making your way to the villains surrounding your teacher.
You swiftly hit them with your blade in their delicate parts; neck, calves, eyes, stomach. They all fall down and you quickly replace your daggers with your usuall claymore, easily slicing the big villain into two. Your large blade hits the ground, creating a crack just the size of your leg as you pant.
"I see. Being this powerful has its downsides as well. You're easily tired, aren't you?" The same creepy villain observes, ticking you off as well. He's smart, he's also very observant. You can clearly see how these guys ended up trespassing to UA without any problems with this guy leading them.
You smile, eyes growing tired as you switch to your defense mode. This is a skill you learned from one of your mother's bodyguards- you shut off your capability of being able to reason in exchange for heightened senses.
You had to have only one goal to be able to use this skill of yours. And you decided that that one goal was to protect your classmates and teacher.
You feel your chest fall as you hear the sound of your teacher grunting in pain behind you. "What do you think of him, eraserhead?" You turn around, eyes widening in horror at the sight of your teacher pinned to the ground by a large thing. Its brain is exposed and it looked horrifying. "He's the bioengineered anti symbol of peace. But you can call him Nomu."
You feel your breakfast that morning slowly rise up to your mouth- your teacher's arm had been twisted in such a wrong way and there's blood all over him.
"Sensei-"
"Stand back. If you want to protect someone, protect your classmates." Aizawa grits through his teeth and your legs function by themselves, quickly jumping to bring you to where your friends were.
Your mind races at the thought of your teacher dying, at the thought that you weren't able to save him. Will you be able to save your classmates to? Are you exactly what he said you were? Weak?
Everything is suddenly moving slowly- you as well. You look to your left, seeing the villain already there beside you with his hand extended to Tsuyu, about to make her crumble with his quirk just like what he did to Aizawa's elbow.
Your heart sinks, you won't be able to live with yourself if you couldn't stop him from reaching Tsuyu. You just can't. Before you can move an inch, the villain stops and turns around, looking at Aizawa. "You really are so cool. Eraserhead." You turn back to see Aizawa using his quirk before his face is pushed back to the ground.
You feel a strong gush of air come from behind you and it takes you a little over a second to see that Izuku used his quirk, throwing his fist at the villain.
The cloud of dust clears up and Izuku looks a little bit too surprised that his arm isn't broken, but the look on his face falls as he looks up and sees the nomu standing in front of him, indifferent to what he had just done.
"You're all pretty strong here, aren't ya?" The villain behind the nomu points out. The bioengineered monster reaches over to grab Izuku, but you push your legs to move, using your claymore to cut its hands off.
"Stay away from my friends you disgusting biohazard!" You yell, gritting your teeth as your hands tighten its grip on your claymore. The sight of its flesh growing back causes you to take a step back.
Before any of you could move, the sound of something breaking catches your attention. You look up at the top of the stairs, your heart swelling when you see a familiar tall blond. Although you know he's weak, you can't help the warm feeling in your chest, a feeling of relief that All Might is here.
Is this how it feels like to have hope? To hope for a hero to save you?
Your body turns into jelly and you fall to your knees, Izuku and Tsuyu immediately supporting you on your sides. With the last bit of strength you have, you lift your head to look at the villain before smiling.
"All Might's here to fuck you up."
