the first is a request for (yet another O_O) continuation of the swiss/phantom storyline. you've left me wanting more again, haha !! so perhaps swiss' screaming match conversation with dew and rain about their negative influence on phantom ?

if that doesn't take your fancy, the line in sickeningly sweet "sure he told mountain a lot but never that much" has also got me wanting more of your writing and storytelling ! i'd be really interested to know what you think phantom has and hasn't told mountain in regards to his issues with eating (and maybe even dew as well, because mountain mentioning that dew told him a few extra details that phantom hadn't has got my brain running wild with possibilities !!)

Omg sorry I took so long writing this. I like drowning in work rn but I finally have the time to write again! I like your idea of Mountain and Dew so here you go! Thank you for the suggestion so much and I hope you like it! Sorry it's a little short.

Dew was laid on Mountain's chest, the two of them inside of the green house on a reclining patio chair. Gently, Mountain dragged his hair through Dewdrops long hair as he gently hummed. He had been working with both Phantom and Dewdrop on their eating, being the only ghoul to have enough patience and not tell the two to "just eat". So he found himself here, enjoying the warmth of the greenhouse.

"How's Tom?" Dewdrop asked softly after a few minutes of silence. After Mountain had taken him through the list of genuinely concerning side effects, Dewdrop had felt terrible for what he had done and turned to worrying for Phantom far more than himself.

"He's getting there but it's not great. He cried over having to eat breakfast. It took him half an hour to even try it but it's better than last week when he simply fell asleep rather than ate," Mountain said in a sad tone. It had broken his heart to see the poor kit distraught over essentially nothing; but he knew it was basically everything to Phantom.

"I'm so sorry," Dewdrop whispered, his heart shattering some. Mountain just rubbed his back and sighed, feeling sorry for both of them.

"It's all my fault, Mountain, I was the one who started this," he murmured biting back tears before continuing on in a meek voice, "I d-didnt realize he was going to do this so sometimes I'd point out the calories in things I wouldn't eat. I didn't even think he knew what a calorie was. And I said so much hurtful shit after that too. I thought he wanted me to be mean to him, I really did. I thought I was making him better by being worse." Tears streaked down his face by this point as Mountain held him close, just letting him get it all out.

"And, and, I made him hate his favorite food. Do you remember when Copia would get him cakes or cookies or just something sweet after every concert? And how happy he was to get them? He was so proud of himself... And I said he looked so much better not having eaten that shit. That it showed on his hips and that it was the reason he was starting to look like a little piglet. Why did I ever say that? This is all my fault!" At this point Dewdrop was sobbing, his body shaking as he cried. Mountain just held him tightly and let him cry. To think that both of them thought like that though, it made him want to cry too. They were both getting better though, and that was what mattered. What had been said couldn't be undone, so all that was left was to hopefully undue the damages.

He hesitantly accepts the band members help in finding his old friend, Cassie, so he can be reunited with her and not keep living on the streets, because after finding him for the first time, the band members are VERY adamant that he cannot go back to that living situation, considering the terrible condition he was in. -Endpoint Security/#Fnaf Endpoint Security: Security Breach swap AU featuring newly uninfected Vanessa as the protagonist and a very much so still infected Dr. Rabbit as the antagonist. Vanessa, barely even remembering having this job and now locked in the Pizzaplex until 6am without any of her keycards or tools, is now accompanied by Dr. Rabbit talking to her through her new fazwatch as she goes on a scavenger hunt he set up just for her to find her keycards and tools to help her survive the night until the doors open, though Dr. Rabbit makes it clear that 6am won't be the end of this shift for her. -Back at it again/#Fnaf Back at it Again: Post PQ ending. Vanessa keeps her job as head of security and Gregory takes up an internship as a security guard, position secured by Vanessa’s recommendation, and the two use their job ranks to continue looking into the mysteries of the Pizzaplex and put Mimic to an end once and for all, aaas well as steal whatever they need to take care of Freddy back home when no one's looking. -Painted Tears Trilogy/#Fnaf Painted Tears Trilogy: Silver Eyes Trilogy inspired AU centering around the MCI looking into the disappearances of Charlotte Emily and Evan Afton, two of their now missing childhood best friends.

Update on my 12 Days of TWSTmas Prompt Request Event

Hey everyone! I'm gonna try to keep this short cause I feel like I talk too much and it makes my posts unreadable lol

TLDR: I will continue to fulfill your requests throughout the year.

The past 12 days, I have written over 20,000 words (12,000 of which got posted) across 4 different WIPs and 2 posted fics. I really wish I could have posted more, but I am a perfectionist, and I also put my blood, sweat, and tears into each and every thing I post. Even if you sent me only 3 words for your request, chances are, thats gonna be 4k words from me. If you sent me a sentence with some backstory, thats probably another 4k words from me. That's just the type of writer I am—so I'm not efficient at pumping things out quickly, but I hope the quality of my work makes up for that fact! Hopefully, I can get these 4 WIPs out for you guys this January, but I need to keep putting hours into them to get to a place where I'm happy with the story. I'm doing my best!

I have A LOT of requests in my inbox. A lot of amazing, well thought out, exciting requests that I want to keep working on. I want everyone who sent me a request ask to know how much it means to me that you are interested in my work and took the time to send me your ideas.

My number one goal of this year is to keep writing. Writing fics the past few months has been the most fulfilling thing I've done in my 20s (and I'm 27 lmfao) so pretty much when I'm not in my 9 to 5, I want to be writing.

I still can't guarantee if I will get to your request (or when, considering how many hours I put in to each request) but I can promise that if I do get to your request, I will give it my all to bring your vision to life and create a story that was hopefully worth waiting for!

My ask box will always remain open for your ideas (related to or unrelated to the prompts I posted, I'll welcome anything!) as long as you understand I may not be able to fulfill your request. Most of the time, I can only work on things I'm really passionate about. So if you happen to send me something that really sparks my interest, I could very well get it out to you within a week hahaha, but it all depends.

Hey guys. Sorry for being quiet for a month. Hopping on here to let y'all know that I do still have a pulse. Things have been... fine? I guess? Here's a bit of a wordy update on my situation right now, but the tl;dr is, I'm good, HE is still on hiatus, but I'll get back into the groove soon hopefully. Also happy holidays!

The mysterious and vague 'personal life stuff' is still ongoing, and I really don't know how long it'll be something that I have to deal with. I'm continuing to not elaborate because it is very much a personal life thing, but I can assure you that nobody's dying or anything grim like that.

On an only somewhat related note, my expendable income has shrank dramatically in the past few months, so I've been having to get a lot more stingy with what I spend money on. I'm not poverty stricken; I can still afford rent and bills and groceries and whatnot, I just gotta cut corners where I can so I can actually build up my savings.

What does this mean for Humanity's Endling? Well, it's... still on hiatus, technically. But really it just means I'm picking up more shifts than I'd usually care to, which means less time to actually work on it. If work were being done on it to begin with. I'm also cutting out my NSO subscription, which unfortunately means I will not be playing Splatoon 3 much at all anymore. Granted, I was kinda taking a break from it already, so it's not like I've been getting my money's worth of the subscription anyways. So if you were curious about my absence during this most recent Big Run, or the lack of a lengthy season observation/headcanon post like last time, that is why.

All of that said, it's not like I haven't been writing at all - just been hard focusing what creative juices I'm still able to generate given my situation on the accursed TTRPG I've mentioned in prior rambles, as that's an actively running thing that I kinda need to constantly pump stuff out for.

Speaking of which, I pulled a Super Mario Galaxy and wrote a whole ass children's book for the players to find as a lore thing. It was written with the intention of just being a normal children's book in a bubble, but when viewed with the context of the entire campaign thus far, takes on a completely different meaning. Which is to say, you don't need to know a damn thing about the campaign to appreciate the story - a theory I tested by having two people who aren't players read it.

One almost cried. The other actually cried. And when the players found it in our most recent session, one of them also cried, and we had to take a breather after the fact.

Not to pat myself on the back or anything, but I feel like that's one hell of an achievement. So I am pretty proud of myself for that. If you guys are interested, I might clean it up a bit and post it either on Ao3 as an original work or just straight onto this tumblr. It's only about 2k words, so it should fit nicely in a single post.

That's all I can really think of to say at the moment. Again, even though I might seem a bit quiet, I am still here. I take a peek at tumblr at least once a day to see if anyone's sent any asks or anything like that, so don't be afraid to toss something into my inbox if you have a question.

Oh, and for the anon who sent an ask suggesting me to upload what I have of Act II done already - I don't exactly plan my stories in a linear fashion, nor do I write them as such either. It's closer to me thinking of the major moments I wanna do, plotting out how to connect them, refining, refining, refining, rearranging, refining, scrap half of what I have done, rearranging, suddenly having an epiphany, scrapping another chunk... yeah, it's a bit chaotic. I see what you're trying to say though, and I do appreciate the suggestion, but it can't really be done with the way I go about writing.

Barhoun: 1 mini series, harvard au including carisi and amanda. 1 fluff, 1 poly fluff. 1 poly series where they meet reader at a sex club and show her what it's all about. 1 smut one shot involving some pegging. 1 poly!barhoun where they're struggling to make it work and realize a third is what they're missing.

Alex Blake: "fluff wip" no clue what that is lol. she's also got another series on the docket that i should probs start working on the outline for soon.

Emily Prentiss: halloween smut where new kinks are discovered, obvi Solace in Solitude is a wip, fluffy one shot where the team discovers emily's married for the first time, a s*gar m*mmy Emily x reader series that will likely be the next one i work on. There are 2 other series i've been thinking about that i can't really say too much without giving away the major plot points LOL.

Heather Dunbar: heather x the stripper series, heather & her plaything series, where she's married but her & rob have a relatively open arrangement, also xmas cards fluff piece for bingo. There's also a big political thriller style series I may delve into that would be poly jackie x reader x heather

Hotch: 1 smut piece for xmas bingo, 1 probably series ft hotch x jack's ft babysitter (like a full ass in their 30's childcare person, no huge age gap shit).

Also while we're talking about Hotchner's, I've got a couple of ideas for Haley Hotchner x reader series that would be a combo of fluff and hurt/comfort/angst.

Joe Velasco: a series AU where he never got out of the gangs, rises through the ranks to be one of the top guys. he and yn meet at a bar and she's not quite sure what he does. -Also a semi follow up to Under Over where they go UC together again but with the roles reversed, it might just be a one shot. -1 fluffy/semi smutty one shot where they're admitting feelings

Sonny Carisi: a hurt/angst piece where he and reader realize their relationship is over

Elana Barth: has a couple of smutty pieces, and some more req's in the ask box rn. and a series idea floating around

Olivia Benson: 2 smut, 2 angst/hurt pieces. One of which i'm attempting to focus on to get done lol.

Rita Calhoun series: x a make up artist who rita takes a liking to but reader is concerned she has a deal breaker. 1 mob boss rita AU. 1 vampire!rita AU (this one will feature the rest of the squad, all supernatural creatures and a crossover ft criminal minds)

Elizabeth Keane: 1 bingo one shot, 2 potential series.

Temily: 1 smut piece, 1 comfort fluffy piece

Tara Lewis: another couple of comfort fluffy pieces. i think there's a smut piece hiding somewhere too.

There's a handful of other random ideas ive had that i've scribbled down in word for series including various characters, another svu x criminal minds crossover. I've got an idea for an Amelia Shepherd series that I'm gonna start thinking more about after christmas.

This has been sitting in my inbox for a hot minute because I just haven't had much motivation to write, so sorry about that!

But Ayato headcanons, hooh, I certainly have a few!!!! I'll toss them below the cut :3

He's ambidextrous - with both writing and weaponry. He can seamlessly switch and tends to just use whichever hand is convenient (though he favours his right when he's doing calligraphy so he wont accidentally smudge the ink).

He tends to hyperfocus on things (especially work-related things) and will often forget to look after himself entirely, only realising that he has been sitting hunched over his desk for hours on end when Thoma tells him.

Speaking of, I really love the idea of Thoma and Ayato having a QPP-type relationship, they're really casual behind closed doors and just act like best friends when others aren't watching.

Ayato is really good with kids, though he isn't particularly fond of them (as in he won't go out of his way to interact with them). He got a lot of experience growing up with Ayaka and always knows how to deescalate situations or play along with silly little games and the like.

He shares a study with Ayaka, so they can keep each other company! They have two big desks in one room, though Ayaka tends to be out and about more often than not.

He gets really irritated if anyone moves anything on his desk - he's always able to tell right away, even if everything has been put back in its rightful place. His desk is often a horrifically chaotic mess, but he has a system in place and archons help the poor new hire who tries to neaten it up a little.

Terrified of insects. Gets super grossed out and may actually shriek if he comes face-to-face with a creepy crawly unexpectedly. Thoma is also afraid of them, leaving Ayaka or another housekeeper to have to scoop them up to take outside.

Had a bit of a rebellious phase growing up, though after his parents passed he matured quickly, though sometimes his defiant streak may shine through, especially when dealing with uppity nobles.

Can and will bitch and moan endlessly about all the stuck up idiots he has to deal with on a day-to-day basis. Ayaka and Thoma often get an earful of this - sometimes his gripes become super petty and specific (for instance, he hates the way that the Guuji Yae smacks her lips when she eats).

Speaking of bad noises, he totally has misophonia - he's extraordinarily good at masking his negative responses to things (especially around others) but certain noises just trigger the rage response - Thoma and Ayaka have learned to keep an eye out for that slight twitch in his eye and the tense way he holds himself when he's close to snapping - not that he'd ever do anything outright rude or bad, but he may try something a little underhanded or not ideal for the current situation just to get out of it.

Ayato is a bit of a pessimist too, he calls it 'realism' and cites the fact that it's good that he's always "either correct or pleasantly surprised" as an excuse to continue being vaguely negative about things.

He twirls his hair a lot - I like to imagine his hair as being longer than in canon (more like how people theorised it when he was first revealed) and so often he'll just absently fidget with it.

He's awful when it comes to music. He cant carry a tune or hold a rhythm to save his life. If he's heard a song enough, he may be able to sing it presentably well, but ... not amazingly.

He likes to play silly little practical jokes on people when he gets the opportunity. I'm imagining this scene from mlp when it's in a situation where he needs to be polite and well put together, but there's definitely been times when he's had a bit of extra time on his hands and pulled together a pretty crazy and elaborate scheme (such as making poor Thoma think the entire household had been replaced by yokai after he'd been out to purchase some things)

Oh also !! I like to think that Ayato and Kokomi would get along pretty well and have a lot to talk about. I think Ayaka would also get along really well with her, but there's just an unspoken bond between Ayato and Kokomi as heirs to large important families who were burdened with their duties at too young of an age. They often correspond through letters and the like.

His expensive taste is not optional. He will literally break out in a rash if he has to use cheap soap or crappy sheets.

Does NOT know how to deal with animals at all. Has been chased around by the estate's chickens multiple times (mostly because Thoma babies them too much and they think every person is a friend)

Ayato's sense of personal space is really ... weird, too. With people he doesn't know well or doesn't care for, he stands several paces away (probably a little more than what's considered socially acceptable), but for his close friends and family, he's practically shoulder-to-shoulder with them.

Is super prone to misplacing or losing his things - others (read: thoma) usually have to keep track of important things for him or else they'll just disappear forever in his eight billion pockets.

Wears lots and lots of layers because he likes the comfort that the extra weight and pressure brings.

Hello! oopsalltes here, I just wanted to start this off by once again thanking everyone who has read ID in Alt. It means A LOT to me, especially because I didn't really have any intentions of this becoming my most viewed work EVER!! The fact that this got 1000 views in only three months continues to absolutely blow me away, and it's become my most viewed work to date.

Oracle Readings

Okay, now that I've gotten through the backlog in my ask box, it's time to talk about my Oracle Readings.

Point the first: I like doing them too much, and it's actually making use of the many decks I have (I know I've only been doing readings from three specific ones lately, but I have several more that I'll probably start incorporating going forward) so I will continue to offer free one-card readings for the indefinite future.

Point the second: That said, I'm going to be having a ✨major life experience✨ here in the next few weeks, so I can't promise how quickly I'll actually get to the requests left in my inbox. I will get to them eventually, it just may take a week or two.

Point the third: I'd really prefer if those interested would stick to just one request per month (or so). Not to say I won't answer, I just answer them in (mostly) chronological order, and I don't feel it's fair to people who haven't made a request before to not have their ask answered before someone who's already gotten an answer.

Point the fourth: After answering so many asks in the past few weeks, I've got some guidelines that may help when someone is making a request:

I have better results when giving a general reading rather than answering a specific question. It can be a general reading about a specific area of someone's life (general love reading, general career reading, general spirituality reading, etc.) but if I'm asked specific questions, my advice may seem to miss the mark since oracle cards generally lend themselves best to general advice.

If you are going to ask a more specific question, keep it as broad as possible.

I would advise asking "What do I need in this situation" or "What do I need to know" type questions over "How will this work out".

I make no guarantees for future events. I can make guesses, but I'm not going to promise that things will turn out a specific way.

I will not be answering any more "what does x person think of me" questions. That is incredibly specific, and more to the point, I'd have a better idea of what someone thinks of another person by reading their body language than reading the cards.

That said, I do still answer "what does x group think of me" because that is more about how someone is generally perceived rather than how a single person views them.

Please understand that the advice I offer is what comes to me after I draw the card, sometimes supplemented by the guidebook, but generally I'm relying on my own intuition. I am a flawed creature, and that means sometimes my intuition, and therefore my advice could be totally off-base and not make sense in reference to a specific situation.

Lastly, If you're going to leave feedback, I'd rather have it left in my message box or on the post with my response rather than in my ask box. I'm disinclined to post feedback asks because that feels a bit too much like tooting my own horn, but I do see them and appreciate them.

I'll probably do a post showing all the decks I'm willing to use in the next few days, so if you're interested in a reading, keep an eye out for that.

Also, I'm kind of putting myself in a box by offering my Oracle readings, but I am also happy to give advice related to magical correspondences and spell crafting. I may not be as knowledgable as some, but I do enjoy sharing what knowledge I have.

So... we’ve heard David’s take on him leaving Naboo. How accurate was his discussion with Charlie compared to his actual feeling (realized or unconscious)? And, by comparison, how does Sarah feel about her actions and the consequences they may have had post-formation of the Empire? What are their regrets? Are they similar? Are they different? How have they affected their decision?

I feel like the conversation that Jack had with Charlie was a lot more telling about how David is actually feeling than the one David has with him later. He's... a little bit disconnected from it, mostly because he feels like he needs to be to function. He has a number of regrets, some that have their roots before he even left.

David misses his home and his family deeply - not just his blood family but also the handful of other people he'd had deep, meaningful connections with when he was young - but he feels like he cannot go back without potentially endangering them. (He is correct.) And the way he copes with that is by being aggressively Naboo in all the ways that don't really matter while pointedly avoiding thinking about the things that do.

Sarah, as an adult, regrets saying no when David asked her to come with him. But she knows that she couldn't have, really, and that she's just imagining a might-have-been to cope with other hurts. When David left, she was still a handmaiden to the Queen, and since then she's done her best to keep herself and her loved ones safe while trying to stay true to her principles. She has a few of the same regrets as David, particularly some of the oldest ones, but I shall not tell you what those regrets are.

I'll leave off with this: both of their decisions, David's to leave Naboo and Sarah's to stay, were motivated by the exact same thought:

"I can't lose anybody else."

Hi, yet another Finn here, annoyed by another anon.

I don't want to go on a rant in your inbox so I'll try to keep this short. As someone who has only in the last few years started to look more into the less spoken about Finnish history, I just want to say I hope our countries can somehow strengthen our relationship in the future. It's an uncomfortable truth for us that we've treated Estonians very dissmissively in our past, but it's a fact I think Finns should all acknowledge.

I'm on board of joining NATO because not only does Finland need a security system but if we joined it would strengthen the security over the Baltic Sea. I don't plan to underrate Finland's problems with Russia, but I think we as a country should acknowledge that our history with Estonia isn't as "brotherly" as most make it out to be, and that Estonians have in fact not been overreacting. Frankly, I think it's quite amazing our countries have been able to be in good terms, and I'm thankful for that.

I would love to see Finland cooperate with the Baltic States and work towards a common goal of security. The past is gone, it can't be changed, but I hope we'll become better neighbors to you in the future. I hope that the current state of Europe will open the eyes of the Finnish goverment and we'll join you guys in NATO soon.

Just saying this is the last ask I am gonna take this. If the first anon comes back or anyone else wants to have a go I am just gonna clear my inbox. I think we can leave Estonian-Finnish relations on the back burner for now and focus on Ukraine instead.

I mean the first anon can say whatever they want. They are allowed to say they don't want Finland to join NATO. That's fair game. But what annoyed the most from that post was that Finnish arrogance Estonians are well familiar with.

Yes, Finland wasn't occupied like we were. We are more than well aware that the independence Finns had came with a heavy price tag and hurt the Finnish outlook for years. We know that some Finns are okay with sacrifices that were made and think it was the right thing to do. We are aware of that. It's not our place to tell Finns to think otherwise. Some Finns also think it's the way to continue. Okay fair, Finland is not Estonia, therefore Estonians don't get to have anything more than opinion.

It's just that - what was part of the price and are you willing to pay it again, may we Estonians ask? We both know the answer, but Estonians are just too polite to answer and Finns would rather not answer. (Although yes, I have mentioned it before - if Finns bring it up in a roundabout way, I think it's a free game for us to say it outright).

Our history and relationships are complicated. It's hard to find and other two nations that aren't really. The two countries share history, but also for a lot of our histories paths diverge. This has led up to the current situation.

Finns yell us at for "telling them what to do" and how "Estonians just don't understand!" then turn right around and tell Estonians what to do and how to interpret this or that.

(Not going to lie, I feel incredibly uncomfortable with some of my Finnish followers, because I know some of them hate Estonians and have favourable views of certain empire from history. Yet they follow this blog, but okay I guess.)

Finland is regionally very important to us, so Estonia is going to bend to Finnish will to almost uncomfortable levels, we know that. However, that does not mean we want to be Finns or something like that. We're Estonians, and that's okay. We don't need to be Finns.

And as for the fact that Estonians don't understand Finnish relations with Russia - well, Finland sure as hell doesn't understand our relationship with Russia either.

Chapter Four: The Three Broomsticks

A/N: This is the fourth part to my fanficiton ‘The Potions Master’s Apprentice (Severus Snape x OC)’. Chapters 1-16 can be found already uploaded on Wattpad under the same name. Pairing: Severus Snape x OC (Dumbledore’s Granddaughter)

Summary: A talented young witch is employed as an apprentice professor at Hogwarts, but who will she be working under? Severus Snape is not best pleased with his new responsibility of taking on an apprentice, however she is relentless to create a friendship between them. Will she be successful? Or might the friendship just go a little two far? With the eyes of her grandfather constantly watching over them, an attempt at a relationship might not be in the cards for Aria Dumbledore and Severus Snape.

The following days transpired just as the day before had done; a lot of potion brewing and a little conversation. However, more notably Severus Snape was actually participating in the conversation for once. Aria could not yet say she had seen a pleasant side to the man, however he was acceptable to converse with at the very least. By the end of the third day he no longer pretended to busy himself with textbooks and he actually elected to help with the potion brewing for once. Being able to talk to the Professor and ask him any questions helped her a great deal in learning the correct procedures. She felt herself being more at ease around him, and soon enough they had developed their own way of working together, that she found quite enjoyable. Even Severus had become accustomed to the woman's presence in his classroom as she pranced around the cauldrons, laughing every now and then at his sarcastic comments he hadn't entirely meant to be humorous.

Aria had been lost in thought as she stirred the final potion to completion. "I was thinking." She said cautiously. "It's pretty hard finding things to occupy myself at nights, there isn't much to do here, except aimlessly wandering the halls. How do you feel about maybe taking a trip to Hogsmeade this weekend, have some dinner, maybe drinks? It would make a change from the elves cooking, although I admit they'd be pretty hard to beat."

"I appreciate the offer Miss Dumbledore. However you know how I feel about spending time with Mr. Hagrid, I doubt a change of setting would convince me, especially with the addition of alcohol." Severus spoke, his tone softer than it usually would at such a request.

"Hagrid wouldn't be there." She hastened to add. "He mentioned he has business out with the castle grounds. I just figured since the two of us would be here anyway, it wouldn't make any sense for us to sit alone."

"You may have forgotten, Miss Dumbledore, but I like being alone. I eat alone every night, and I do not wish to simply be your back up plan, now Hagrid has left you to do the same."

"I don't mean for you to be a back up plan Sev- Professor Snape. I just think it might do us both some good. After all haven't we been getting along better these past few days." Aria wanted to get to know the man more, she felt they had got off on the wrong foot and the way to fix this was spending more time together, and hopefully they would even become friends at the end of it all.

"You haven't been as disagreeable as I expected you would be, I will admit. This does not change my previous opinion." He stated.

"At least consider it." She pleaded.

With a sigh Snape flipped another page. "I'll consider it." He agreed, continuing reading his book, no longer interested in conversing with the young witch.

The next few days dragged in more than ever. Aria enjoyed keeping herself busy and was not used to having this much free time. The only thing keeping her sane was her passions for drawing and nature. She chose to combine the two and spend her days outside, sketching the beautiful landscape she found herself in. She preferred to opt for portraits, capturing the essence of humanity in her sketches, but trees were fine too. She shrugged.

Sunday morning eventually came around and Aria chose to tackle something she had been putting off ever since her arrival at Hogwarts. A small pile of letters had accumulated on her bedside table, ignoring each one as they came in. She immediately recognised the scrawled writing on the envelope and could not face opening them. Every second day she received a letter and it broke her heart knowing what lay within. Reading each one carefully, she knew she could not face writing the response the sender desperately awaited. Instead she scribbled a small, generic reply, making sure to include that she would be too busy to write often due to her crazy schedule. This of course was a lie as she had virtually nothing planned for the next couple of weeks until term begun. Aria did not want to face even reading any more letters as long as she remained at Hogwarts, and so she swore to herself she wouldn't no matter how hard she knew it would be.

A firm knock echoed through her quarters just as Aria sent her letter off with beautiful brunette barn owl. "Come in." She called curious as too who would be calling on her. Shocked to see Professor Snape striding into her private chambers, Aria couldn't help but question his presence there.

"I've had time to think about your offer." He stated blankly, visibly out of his comfort zone.

"And?" Aria pressed.

"And I suppose there would be no harm in joining you for one meal. After all, as you say, we both will be here alone, we may as well keep each other company."

"Fantastic!" His colleague gleamed, jumping up from her position on her couch. "Just give me some time to get ready and I'll meet you there? Say six oclock at the Three Broomsticks?"

"Six is fine with me. Don't be late." He warned, leaving the room just as quickly as he came.

Aria entered the Three Broomsticks at five forty-five, ensuring Snape had no reason to reprimand her once again for her tardiness. It stunned her to find the sallow skinned man already sitting at a booth, firewhiskey in hand, patiently waiting on her arrival. She couldn't help but smile to herself as she watched him tap out a rhythm on the side of his glass as he took yet another sip. She wondered if it was out of impatience or nervousness, either way she thought it slightly endearing to see.

Hearing the click of a familiar set of heels quickly approaching him, Severus Snape looked up from his glass, almost needing to hold back the urge to smile, but managed to keep his composure. He rose to his feet, holding out a hand to greet the fellow Professor, instantly cursing himself for such a foolish action. "Sit." He commanded, motioning to the seat across from his own. "I'll get you a drink."

"Oh no, there's really no need Professor." Aria insisted, shaking her head, causing her beach-like waves to brush over her exposed shoulders. "I'm afraid alcohol doesn't agree with me at the best of times." She admitted.

"Correct me if I am wrong, Miss Dumbledore, but as I recall it was you who suggested a meal and drinks. Or did I mishear you." Snape asked, feeling almost foolish, having already down two glasses of Firewhiskey.

"I did say that didn't I." The young Miss Dumbledore blushed. "I apologise, sometimes I just cannot stop myself when I speak, I often forget the consequences of drinking, which as it happens is the ultimate consequence of drinking." She chuckled.

The older man shot her a small look of disdain, not at all as amused as she had expected him to be. He let out a small grunt of dissatisfaction, and proceed to down the dregs of his drink.

It took a few more awkward moments of silence and Severus being slightly more irritable that Aria had wished for before the two finally settled in to a rhythm of conversation. Soon enough it came time to eat and Aria took it upon herself to call over the waitress. As he ordered Aria watched as Severus made no effort to look up at the woman serving him. It crossed her mind that maybe this was a deliberate attempt at ignoring her voluptuous breast and curvature of her hips. However, on the other hand she considered that maybe he truly was not interested as she thought back to their conversation a few days before.

"She's stunning." Aria couldn't help but observe. "You should go for it, chat her up, she might be into the dark, brooding, intellectual type."

"As I told you before, Miss Dumbledore, dating it not top priority for me. If you find her so attractive why don't you, as you say, 'chat her up'." Snape replied sarcastically, not expecting the woman to take him seriously.

"I might just." She said, finding her eyes following the waitress back to the kitchen for a moment or two. He couldn't help but feel a little jealous as the witch watched the woman walk away from their table, though he was not sure why.

"So tell me Professor Snape." The young Professor began. "What are the other Professor's at Hogwarts like? Who am I took look out for? Who's my competition." She grinned, wriggling her eyebrows menacingly.

"I'm not sure I know what you mean." He hummed in response.

"You know." She shrugged. "Who are you close with? Will I have to fight them for custody of you." She laughed, although the Professors expression did not change. "What I'm trying to say Severus is, I'm new here, besides yourself and Hagrid I know no one. I'd like to consider us friends, though you may have a different opinion. I was simply trying to express my nervousness at being the new girl. I was hoping you'd be able to help me settle in, introduce me to your other friends and colleagues that is." She sighed.

"You do not seem to understand my disposition, Miss Dumbledore, that which I feel I have made abundantly clear. I am not one to socialise. I am not one to make friends. I am here to teach and teach alone. I do what your grandfather asks of me and that is the extent of my relationship with the staff. They understand how I am, and respect that. I do not bother them and in return they do not bother me. You have been the first to struggle with this concept, Professor." He struggled to grant her the title.

"I didn't realise." Aria stuttered slightly, not understanding how she had not caught on. "I had simply thought you had a vendetta against me, due to my position here at Hogwarts. I didn't realise you shut yourself off from everyone. I apologise for any inconvenience I have caused you." The tone of her voice softening, becoming almost a whisper-like volume. She was embarrassed she had forced him out of his habits and brought him to the Three Broomsticks to clear the air. She realised now it had been a pointless act. This man had been stuck in his ways for over a decade and she would not change that a fortnight into knowing him.

"I am here, aren't I." Severus stated, trying not sound as harsh as he previously had. "Had I truly despised you I would not be wasting my time here with you. "I appreciate the sentiment, Professor." She replied shyly, remaining silent. Immediately Severus regretted opening his mouth. He didn't entirely hate her company and in fact he had found himself starting to enjoy the evening. It took him a minute or two to gain the confidence to speak the words aloud, but he figured the pay off was worth the sacrifice of a small amount of pride.

"Will you stop fretting woman." He demanded. "I was just beginning to find your constant rambling tolerable. If I wished to spend the evening in silence, I wouldn't have made the effort to accept your invitation to come here tonight. You have managed to entice me thus far, do not spoil what may be your one chance at a friendship with me."

"A friendship?" This piqued her interest.

"You know what I mean. A working relationship. A tolerance. A chance for me to accept your position as my apprentice." Snape corrected himself, fumbling over his words.

"Mmmm." She smirked, taking a small sip of butterbeer. "I'll just pretend a friendship is off the cards for us then, Professor. Although I don't recall you mentioning trips to Hogsmeade as an exception to your reclusive personality." She raised an eyebrow suggestively.

Despite his annoyance at her persuasive abilities, and daring comments, he was glad he had convinced her back to her previously inquisitive self.

Both choosing to ignore any reservations they might have about their 'non-friendship' the two spoke for hours with ease. With each empty glass of fire whiskey Severus Snape found himself relaxing more into the conversation, his reputation becoming a distant memory. It was the first he had allowed himself to truly relax in possibly the whole of his life.

It seemed in one evening Severus had gotten to know all there was to know about Aria's life, although strangely she mentioned nothing regarding her family and Snape chose not to pursue the subject. He loved listening to her talk, she was a rambler, rarely needing any interjection from him except the odd mumble here and there and that's the way he liked it. He was a listener, he loved taking in new information no matter the subject. Most importantly it meant he did not have to share anything about himself, unless the woman specifically asked, and even in those rare occasions, she knew better than to pressure him when he chose not to provide an answer.

Aria told him of the schooling she received in Ilvermorny, her school in America. She told him of her job working in a local alchemists after she left school. She confided in him of her dream to become a professor, or an auror even, really she was just desperate to make a difference in someone's life and her dream would not succeed by spending the rest of her days working in a dingy old shop. "And that's why your grandfather brought you here?" He questioned, the topic piquing his interest. "You told him of your dream to teach?" "I guess you could say that." She agreed, not wanting to raise any more questions than necessary. "He didn't bring me from America though, if that's what your meaning. I was already here. My mother sent me to school in America to protect me, with all that Wizarding War carry on and what with me being a Dumbledore, she didn't want to put me in any more danger than I already was. She remained here with my father however and I visited on the holidays." Snape raised a single brow at the mention of her mother and father but changed the subject completely, seeing the woman being to shy away slightly.

"It's getting late." Severus observed. "I should walk you back to the castle before it gets too dark."

"That would be nice" Aria smiled, rising from her seat.

The couple made their way back to the beautiful lit up castle as the sky turned a deep shade of blue above them. They continued to speak all the way down to the dungeons, this time Severus participating just as much as Aria. The Potions Master escorted his apprentice to the door of her quarters, the two of them swaying awkwardly not knowing where to go from here.

"You can come in for a drink... if you'd like." Aria hesitated to ask. "Although I'm not sure I have anything alcoholic, so tea might need to suffice."

"I appreciate the invitation, but it's been a long day for me, I'm afraid I must retire for the night." Now they were back in the familiar castle grounds Severus felt as though he had suddenly returned to his body, and the events of the night lingered at the forefront of his mind, a deep feeling of regret developing in his stomach.

"Very well." Aria agreed, feeling slightly uncomfortable herself. "Good night, Professor Snape."

"Good night, Miss Dumbledore." He spoke softly, rocking anxiously the balls of his feet, waiting for the woman to disappear into her quarters. With a simple nod and one final smile from Aria, she vanished from his sight. The sound of the door closing echoed through the halls, ringing in Severus' ears, and suddenly he felt more alone than he ever had before.

Aria stood with her back to the door, a sigh of relief escaping her lips. As much as she enjoyed the evening with her mentor, the intense awkwardness that occurred at her door, got her thinking about the man on the other side. Her intention was to get to know the man better, and though he did not confide in her much, she felt she had achieved that, maybe more than anyone ever had.

Why had he allowed her to get close to him when he claimed to distance himself from the world?

This thought circled her brain for the rest of the night.

Urianger for the character meme :) or Y'shtola if someone already sent him

I have another Uri ask in my inbox so I'll take Y'shtola from here. :) How I feel about this character I appreciate her role as the senior mom-adjacent mentor amongst the Scions. I don't count her among my favourite Scions, and my personal feelings are very neutral. Yup, she's there, she's smart, we doubtless need her to help with exposition. Her personality/archetypes/personal story hasn't grabbed me (yet), though, so I don't feel like I have a deep understanding or appreciation for her. I like her dress in Shadowbringers, though. That's a whole look. TL;DR -- I honestly don't have all that much to say about Y'shtola because I've just not felt the need or desire to really dig in. All the people I ship romantically with this character Runar. I've read some great fic with her and Urianger (hi pudgy_puk from AO3!!), but after SHB, it's Runar all the way. She seems to have this thing where she puts on airs about her concern for people only going so far, but then she told Runar that she'd figure out ways to cross the rift and go back to him and I'm a sucker for that kinda stuff. And I've seen a couple WOLships out there, but any WOLship that the driver is having fun with is a good ship. My non-romantic OTP for this character Urianger. I think those two are definitely Academia Bros regardless of whether or not they're romantically involved. Also, the "good game" "thanks coach" ass-slap at the end of Qitana cinched that for me. They have a really good "we look out for each other" vibe, I feel. My unpopular opinion about this character One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon These go together because they are related: I feel like Y'shtola has extremely egregious Plot Armour and I feel that she either needs to be rid of it or to stop taking foolish risks. I would have loved for her to have some serious bodily consequences for her actions in Shadowbringers. That the game continually warns us of what danger Y'shtola is in from using her aetheric sight or the Flow spell but actually doesn't show any sort of results from their consistent or repeated use? It's really sloppy and the only reasoning I can think of for that is because The Plot Needs Her. I would want to see Y'shtola's disadvantages (or disabilities if that's how you would prefer to classify them) actually be shown in the canon.

OK, I'LL TELL YOU YOU ABOUT PROPORTION

If a shoe pinches when you put it on, it's a worse form of self-indulgence. How little money it can take to start a startup by just writing some brilliant code, pushing it to a server, and having users pay them lots of money. Let the conversation get general; don't be trying too hard to find startup ideas, you're probably not too late.
