so this is a sequel to hope has bloody knuckles, it's a one-shot, the plot basically consists of "davi and loren have a baby, Everybody comes to see the baby." to make up for lack of substance, have some snippets <3

“Loren!” Wolffe grabbed her up around waist and spun her. She shrieked in shock, but didn’t flail, and Wolffe set her firmly back on the path.

“Loren,” he said, gripping her shoulders, staring intently into her eyes. “Light of my life. My guiding star. Where is my child.”

Loren tipped her head back and laughed. Davijaan smacked Wolffe upside the head.

He whirled around, hand raised and ready to retaliate, and Davijaan sniffed. “You can't hit me back,” he said, smug. “I'm holding the baby.”

“He's so blue.”

Davijaan snorted. “Were you expecting it to be red?”

“I guess I was expecting it to look like a tubie.”

“Tubie?” Loren asked, cautious.

“Clone fetus,” Wolffe clarified.

Loren blinked, and frowned.

“Here you are, 1010,” she said, and handed Fox the bundle of baby.

Fox froze solid. He didn’t even breath. Just stared down at the little blue face nestled in the crumpled yellow blanket in horror.

“Don’t drop him,” said Loren, cheerful. Fox clutched the baby to his chest.

‘17 looked ridiculous on their couch; too big for their furniture.

“… Do you want to hold him?”

‘17 looked between Davijaan and the baby, blank except for the tension around his eyes. He nodded.

“Alright.” Davijaan swallowed. “Here, you have to—”

“I know how to hold a baby.”

Davijaan watched skeptically as he arranged himself, but when ‘17 frowned expectantly he laid his son carefully in his arms.

For a long time ‘17 just stared at the baby, the tension leaving his expression and replaced with-- something. Davijaan watched, and a bit of that same something in his chest ached.

‘17 cleared his throat. “He looks like you.”

“Stars, I hope not.”

He glanced up from the baby long enough to raise an unimpressed eyebrow. “What's the matter with looking like you?”

“Nothing. I just... I want him to look like himself.”

#xcde #xenoblade #i had so much fun with these #the apocalyptic feeling of alcamoth is super super good #like it had already been turned into a horrifying area when the bionis did its thing and the telethia swarmed into it #and now it's horrifying for an entirely different reason #it's fallen into ruin and been invaded by a new giant entity #the hexagonal panels having fallen out leaving geometrically precise holes is probably my favorite change they made #because they look cool as fuck #but also they kind of remind us what an advanced and precise society the high entia were #and then the fact that it's all fallen into ruin makes things feel just that much more desolate #i really wanted a sidequest like colony 6 where you repair alcamoth but future connected could only be so much #but imagine in another world where you could go back to the new colony 9 and explore the surrounding area #traveling between the colony and the shoulder via junks #collecting things in both places to repair the glass ceilings and clear the plants #and then you get alcamoth working again #and it's beautiful because of the effort you put in and then it evolves into a new trade hub #and maybe you get to watch as traffic increases and you see more ships flying back and forth #anyways

🚫 - what's something genuinely weird about them? like, not something considered quirky yet cute- something genuinely weird that puts other people off at first

i think flytrap is a little too obsessed with plants. like randomly squatting down to admire a plant growing out of the sidewalk. she can sit for 20 minutes staring at a dandelion. sounds cute until you try to take her anywhere.

spinkick is always trying to fight people. if he even thinks you looked at him weirdly he's insisting on fighting you. he also tries to befriend people by challenging them to a fight (which actually worked on flytrap).

💭 - what's something embarrassing they did that actively haunts them at night?

flytrap went through a very strong Not Like Other Girls phase as a result of reading too many YA novels.

when he was younger, spinkick sang "What Makes You Beautiful" to try and impress a girl. somehow it actually worked and they dated for a few months.

🧸 - what position do they sleep in? do they snore or sleepwalk or have any other problems sleeping? what do their sheets look like?

flytrap sleeps in really weird positions. picture the family guy death pose. she prefers to sleep in a cold room, since sleeping in a warm room increases the nightmares she has about the fire that killed her parents. she sleeps on fancy floral patterned sheets with too many pillows.

spinkick sleeps like a rotisserie chicken. no matter what he did as a child his bed never really felt like a "safe space" so he kind of gave up on making his bed comfortable. he's got the singular flattened pillow and navy sheets combo. he likes to sleep in flytrap's room because having her nearby makes him sleep better.

🔒 - what’s something they love a lot that they’re embarrassed to tell others about?

flytrap never left her twilight phase. she owns every book and has every movie on disc. she still has team jacob merch. it's not a phase it's a lifestyle.

spinkick loves Jackie Chan movies. he's seen all three Rush Hour movies, Rumble in the Bronx, ect. name any Jackie Chan movie and spinkick has seen it and will probably tell you his favorite fight scene from that movie if he feels comfortable around you.
