Lore - Making this in small chapters kinda like how the game introduces levels as chapters!
Chapter 1: The Meeting in the Virtual World
Kaden, known as "Cosmic" in the online world, was a popular streamer who loved playing horror games. Their streams were full of spooky stories and thrilling gameplays that attracted quite a lot of viewership but not really enough to gain anything from it. One day, while playing a new horror game, they met a guy named Alex, another player who shared their passion for scary adventures. They quickly became friends, chatting and playing together almost every night after Kaden streamed. They would talk about their pasts, their hopes, and dreams, and found out they had a lot in common. As they played and talked, Kaden and Alex eventually started to develop feelings for each other, but they had never seen each other's faces as Kaden wasn't comfortable displaying themselves online.
Chapter 2: A Surprising Discovery
Life had an interesting twist for them. Kaden and Alex, without knowing, lived in the same apartment building on Dark Street. upon talking more, namely about their mental health, they found out they even had the same therapist and were on the same medication for their mental health, what are the odds!? More likely than you think as another resident Kate was also on the same meds from the same therapist. Finally, they decided to meet in person. The moment they saw each other, they felt like they had known each other forever who knew someone who once seemed so far was so damn close! They lived on the same floor! The introduction face to face was a little awkward as they both don't really know how to talk to one another but it wasn't unpleasant.
Chapter 3: The Nightmare Begins
Things took a scary turn when Kaden and Alex started seeing strange things in their apartment building. Eyes watching them from the walls, monsters lurking in the shadows, people they once knew sounded and looked off, speaking eerily. The lights had hands reaching from them and the vents bled a thick meat like ooze... It was like their horror games had come to life. They were trapped inside the building, no matter how many buttons they pushed in the elevator they couldn't stop going up! There was no way to the main floor... There's no way to escape. It felt like a nightmare they couldn't wake up from and they were terrified.
Chapter 4: Escape and Aftermath
With the help of their mutual friend, Kate, who lived on the 2nd floor, they tried to escape, Kate mentioned that you could jump out the window and be on the ground floor OUTSIDE the building. the fall wouldn't hurt them! Kate, who was in this shared hallucination, tried to burn down the building with Alex and Kaden. Before too long though, Adam, Kaden's mutual friend and detective showed up. He was investigating this strong of missing people and murders from people who have gone "crazy" He called Firefighters and the police came, and the 3 were taken to the hospital. The doctors found out that the medication they were on was causing horrible unbreakable hallucinations that altered the mind so intensely that it caused a negative reaction, making the users feral, they seen friends as enemies and often resorted to violence after too long. After getting the right treatment, Kaden, Kate and Alex were safe, the therapist was investigated and taken to prison, but things had changed.
Chapter 5: New Challenges and New Beginnings
After the incident, Alex developed agoraphobia, a fear of going outside, and Kaden started suffering from paranoia and anxiety. They both had a lot of traumas to deal with after what they went through. But they had each other. Their bond, formed in the virtual world and tested in a real-life nightmare, had grown even stronger. They supported each other, understanding what the other was going through, they even invited Kate to their places regularly to check up on her.
Chapter 6: Together Against the World
Kaden and Alex became a couple, facing their challenges together. They found comfort and strength in each other. Even though life had thrown a scary other wordily horror at them, they found love and hope in the midst of it. Their journey wasn't easy, but together, they were ready to face whatever came their way because nothing in the rest of their lives would be as bad as that horrifying experience.

So here's why i've been inactive for the past couple months on tumblr:
As many of you know, I've been a fairly avid content creator for the warrior nun fandom creating a ton of content for free. I joined a Warrior Nun discord server named Future Warrior Nuns (which is a ridiculous name considering in the show Ava says there will be no more warrior nuns but that's besides the point) and the treatment I received there was amazing. At the beginning. I spoke up about racism and injustices within the community because you cannot escape it anywhere unfortunately and I believed I'd found a community that would protect me and be there for me if i was ever faced with racism or hate.
For clarity, anyone in blue is a moderator. As you go on to read this their usernames and profile images might change so I’ll clarify who is who. I’ll only be using the names I’ve been presented with and only the ones that are most relevant to the situation.
Fiesta  (white American cis woman) aka Doesn't Kelly, Witch Rhyme
Taz (white Australian cis woman)
Milan (a very sheltered American transmasculine poc whos uncomfortable talking about racism because they've never had to deal with it) aka Who The Fuck Is Kelly
Rory (white Australian cis woman) aka Stronger Kelly
Tumblr media
But after a while, things slowly started to change. It was subtle and if you hadn't been there from the beginning, you wouldn't have noticed. It started with the moderators spending less time in the server because they had made many of their own servers and spent far more time over there. Which is understandable when you’re a group of friends that all have a common purpose. But the lack of leadership was palpable. I had to sometimes direct fellow server members to proper channels or do a few other things that were supposed to be things that the moderators were supposed to take care of and their lack of care for the server was becoming more relevant. If you were in their little group of friends or kissed their ass then they wouldn't target you unnecessarily.
Exactly three weeks later, (and only one week after my birthday in which everyone was super sweet and nice to me) the love and friendship they claimed to have for me vanished completely. For context, people in positions of power, especially in a server, should be people you can come to if you ever have an issue with anything or anyone. They should also be people that can come to terms with admitting their behavior was incorrect when being told so. So here is what happened:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have always been open about being a transmasculine person of color on all my platforms, and if you know me on any platform you know that. The behavior shown here between me and the moderators was absolutely appalling to me. They pushed my voice aside and only acknowledged Narcissa, a cis white woman, who was agreeing and saying the same things i had because i had asked her in private to help me out because i felt it was unfair that two server moderators were coming at me so aggressively.
As you can see from the screenshots, they claimed that I attacked Fiesta when i was simply pointing out that her behavior was hypocritical and unfair especially because she is in a position of power and that's something people of power should be aware of.
I was the only one brave enough to say what everyone was thinking. And that's something I have always taken pride in. Speaking up for others when they are too scared to do so themselves. And that was shown through multiple people coming into my dms to tell me they either felt the same way I did or they felt the way I was treated in the conversation above was unfair. This next screenshot is from a private message from a former manager.
Tumblr media
Narcissa (white cis woman)  received a few apologies from the server managers privately, yet my dms stayed vacant. At this point, they made a “public apology” towards everyone in the server which I forgot to screenshot, and not a single server manager reached out to me in private. But they did share these in the server for everyone to see:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They then opened an anonymous feedback form for us to share if we had any issues privately, which of course, I did, and so I filled it out saying “wheres my fucking apology ~king” so they would know exactly who the response was coming from. I was angry and hurt that they treated me the way they did. I regretted wording it like that almost instantly after sending it. But the deed was done and it was unchangeable. And not too long after, this was posted publicly in the server feedback channel so that everyone in the server could see:
Tumblr media
Whether I shared that it was from me or not, she violated the server moderators unanimous statement saying that everything posted in the feedback form would stay anonymous and made my response public using the excuse that me sharing my name made it okay for her to show it to everyone. I was also being informed by other people I’m friends with that the forms that were being submitted were not staying anonymous and that they were being shared from other moderators privately in other peoples' dms.
I stuck around in the server because the people that I had formed friendships with were there and they were special to me and I wanted to be able to talk to them still in spite of everything that had happened to me up until this point. I was much more subdued at this point, I was posting less art and as you noticed I practically disappeared from twitter as well.
My love for Warrior Nun was decreasing rapidly because the environment had become so toxic and unwelcoming that I felt scared to say much in the server in fear of being banned after seeing one of my trans poc friends banned for saying hi to another member. They had been looking for a reason to ban him for being on my side instead of theirs and apparently found the “perfect” excuse. They deleted his messages and claimed in their private admin channel that he had harassed someone in the server without screenshotting the false evidence first. How do I know this? Because I had a person on the team that valued me as a person instead of as a content creator and what I could give to the server.
I proceeded to curate the server for what fit me best, considering the ridiculous number of channels they created that had nothing to do with the show at this point. And there was an option for members to do that so I used the tools they had provided with and opted out of channels I no longer wanted to see. I consolidated it down to 35 out of 66 channels because some of them had no opt out option. And still, it was way more channels than I'd prefer to be in. I narrowed it down to only ships I actually cared about instead of having a bunch of channels I was never gonna read or say things in. And that's when the manager that cared about us provided me with these telling screenshots.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Why put me in “jail” over removing some roles? It may not have been explicit, but the internalized racism of putting a person of color in “jail” for curating what they wanted from a server is frankly off putting to say the least. "Implicit racism includes unconscious biases, expectations, or tendencies that exist within an individual, regardless of ill-will or any self-aware prejudices."
And what does carl bot do exactly? It logs EVERYTHING. But only if that feature is enabled. And clearly, in Future Warrior Nuns, it is.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They didn’t care about me and didn’t care that I was a consistent content creator. For lack of better words, I was one of the biggest reasons the actual part of the server that was dedicated to the show was constantly active and once I became quiet, along with a few other content creators I talked with, the activity decreased immensely. I said things here and there but that was about it. Until I was looking through their emotes. I noticed that they had trans, gay, demi, bi, aro, and ace heart emotes but the lesbian one wasnt there. Which was honestly surprising considering how much of the fandom identifies as lesbian. So I asked for it to be added and after it was, so many people were super happy because of it.
Tumblr media
One day later i asked for more Mary emotes because they hadn’t completely brushed me off after requesting for the lesbian pride one. I noticed that Ava, the white character, had 72 animated and still emotes at the time while Mary, the black character, only had 18. And only 4 out of those were positive emotes. Here's that conversation:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I offered up my services to create Mary emotes for them considering I was an artist and content creator and it would be no issue for me at all to contribute but they declined, saying they were working on some themselves and that they would eventually add them to the server. The ones that they had created all looked terrible. They didn't know how to color correct her skin so that it wouldn't look ashy because of the filters used in the show and instead of asking for help from me, an artist of color, they simply did their own thing. And from 18 emotes, it went up to a dazzling 24.
Needless to say, the racism they claimed not to have was pretty evident at this point. It was shockingly clear that they didn’t care as much about the characters of color than they did for the white and white passing ones. After this entire debacle I didn't even bother trying to ask for more emotes for Lilith considering how warmly I was welcomed with asking for more Mary emotes.
A little less than two months after the initial incident, I still hadn’t been contacted by anyone on the admin team about absolutely anything in private. It wasn’t until people asked Fiesta if she had reached out to me or even bothered with an apology before she sent me this:
Tumblr media
The “apology” was worthless. Too much time had passed since I was publicly humiliated and portrayed as the evil transmasculine person of color to them, and only a select few people interacted with me. I felt completely shut out because of how the admin team handled a difference of opinion. Instead of correcting themselves and admitting they were wrong, they doubled down on the intimidation and bullying  by changing their rules so that they could find excuses to ban or punish anyone they felt was not on their side.
At this point, my grades were heavily declining. I was already struggling with keeping up with everything on my own due to covid and my mental disabilities. Being a victim of this racist behavior made everything worse. I couldn’t get out of bed, I was barely eating a meal a day because I had no motivation to work so I had little to no money to buy myself food. I was starving most days. And I didn’t ask my mom for help because I felt everything was my fault and that I really was in the wrong and shouldn't have said anything even though looking back at it I wasn't wrong for what I said. I had also been informed that my dad died because of covid and because of all of this stress and depression I had officially failed my classes.
This is really difficult for me to say because I’m a very private person and I hate asking for help or sharing anything about my private life, but for you to understand everything that was happening to me at the time, this is stuff you unfortunately need to know.
There’s many more things that I could say about this server but this thread is already long enough as it is and it was hard enough to write this all down. But behind closed doors, the admin team had some of the nastiest attitudes and behaviors you could’ve seen. Had they realized we had someone on their team that actually valued us and others as people, they probably would have kept their blatant ignorance and dislike towards server members hidden better. But white people like oppressing others when they know they can get away with it and this is just another sad unfortunate example that cost me and my fellow friends of color some heavy emotional and psychological damage.     They did wrong and refused to acknowledge it and instead tried to find a way to ban us for not having the hivemind that they so desperately want to control everyone with. If you want to see for yourself, feel free to find a link to a discord server named Future Warrior Nuns. If you look back through their channels, you’ll find most of these conversations either gone or have many messages missing. I hope my story will help understand why I’ve been gone from tumblr for so long and i hope something like this never happens to you.

My A3 Sexuality Headcanons that no one asked for!
[These won’t include Gender, only sexual orientation or lack thereof(is that a phrase?)]
Color coordination
Gay
Bi
Pan
Aro
Hetero
Tumblr media
Sakuya Sakuma: Pansexual! He doesn’t have any preferences, honestly after his childhood he just wants someone who will love and accept him!
Masumi: Bisexual. I feel like he would love the director whether they be boy, girl, other, all, he just wants someone to give him attention, and that person just happened to be out beloved Izumi Tachibana.
Tsuzuru: okay this ones me projecting but whatever Aro/Ace Tsuzuru. He doesn’t feel romantic attraction, and instead just feels a family-brotherly kind of love towards his friends and fellow actors. He doesn’t really want to romantically be with someone, and yet instead just wants to be there for them when they need it and love them the same way he loves his family at home
Citron: Also pan!! But Pan-Romantic specifically. Citron literally just wants to love everyone ever because he’s just awesome like that, but won’t go pass kissing someone. It just makes him uncomfortable which is perfectly fine because he is Citron Lastname! But yeah, also no gender prefermance
Itaru: Bi with a male preference. I can’t really explain why I think this, I just do. Maybe because most of the woman he has ever shown interest in are his 2D anime waifus. Also I mean come on he totally had a whole thing for Lancelot he thinks knights are hot and that is so valid.
Chikage: he is a gay cabbage. Listen the only time he has said he liked a woman it was because he said they weren’t like his mom and I am just- I’m sorry I don’t trust that. This man is a gay, he is never had a boyfriend but he has definitely thought of hooking up with his boss for a raise, thanks for coming to my Ted talk.
Tumblr media
Tenma: Also bi! Bi-Ace specifically. I wasn’t really sure where to put him because on one hand I feel like he has a lot of MLM energy but on the other hand his solo song so I just, bi. I feel like his gay awakening came when he played the token gay best friend in a romcom because gay actor erasure but Tenma didn’t really understand, but later he was in a scene where he was with his boyfriend who shows up for one second to remind the audience hes a homosexual and Tenma was just: crap he’s not
Yuki: okay at first I didn’t know what to put for Yuki cause on one hand sexuality erasure Yuki has specifically said he likes girl and he defies stereotypes and stuff but on the other hand he never said he didn’t like boys so he’s bi with a female preference. I feel like Yuki is the kind of guy to just happen to fall in love with whoever and just go “oh crap did I just fall in love?” And while he likes girls more sometimes it just. Happens.
Muku: Surprise surprise he’s Pan! Muku totally reads shoujo manga with all sexualities and is very livid about good representation, will write a “negative review” (and in Muku terms that’s him being very polite, 4.5/5 stars and linking research resources) about how inaccurate a sexuality was portrayed. I feel like at first he just thought he was a very active ally and now he is just: “oh crap boys. And girls. And enbys. And genderfluids. And everyone.”
Misumi: Misumi is very homosexual, which at first he was sad about because homosexual has 2 o’s which are circles but then he realized he can just say gay but spell it like: G🔺Y so he got happy again. I feel like it was one of the reasons he was kicked out of his home, he just likes boys Jeez Ikaruga parents no rights. (I also Headcanon him as autistic but that’s not what this post is about).
Kazunari: In Kazunari Miyoshi’s world he never has to make a decision in his life and that includes sexuality. Show him a guy and a girl and tell him to pick one and he will simply overload until he picks the person who knows the most trivia on classical art or smthing. Kazunari just: adores everyone ever, and that’s okay! After a lot of internalized homophobia and fear, he was able to come out to first a small group of college friends and eventually felt comfortable with the label and was able to express it openly, now he wears it with pride!
Kumon: I really don’t have any explaining to go here, Kumon just feels gay to me. My head can’t wrap around him wanting to be intimate with a girl. I do think there was this big moment of him coming out to Juza and Juza just going “s’okay.” Then they hug and get ice cream
Tumblr media
Banri: Banri is bisexual with a straight pride flag and a Juza Preference. Catch him at the straight pride parade telling “those Homo’s that they’re going to burn.” While making out with Juza against a wall. That’s canon I don’t take criticism
Juza: Also Gay, I feel like Kumon came out first and Juza did research and was like “oh me too.” And just thought about how he’s never actually liked a girl and thought boys were kinda pretty and oh crap Settsu slicked his hair back oh crap oh crap pretty men.
Taichi: Taichi is bisexual, with his preferences being as random as his hair. Except no weird 1/4 quarters going on. Idk where I was going with that analogy I’m sorry. Taichi just likes the humans and wants to go kiss kiss with them all, and then bring them along on his journey for fame and popularity!
Omi: Listen, Omi is the mother of Mankai, and as the mother he loves everyone unconditionally. He also totally wanted to kiss Nachi I’m sorry. I feel like Omi has a male preference, but only by a bit as he loves everyone! He is a good boy and brings all the snacks and water to the pride parades so his friends stay healthy :)
Sakyo: Sakyo is the straight~ supportive dad who doesn’t care if you’re gay straight bi pan anything as long as you pay your taxes. Was probably a little confused at first just because. Probably said “LGBT? Isn’t that a sandwich.” But he got informed did research and is now a huge ally! After more research he identifies specifically as graysexual/romantic as he feels rarely any romantic attraction at all unless under certain circumstances aka Izumi Tachibana. I akso think he suspected that Azami was LGBT for a bit before he came out so he wanted to do research so that Azami would feel comfortable coming out when he was ready. Also he can’t like, not support Sakoda (who I Headcanon as gay :) )
Azami: Azami is bi-aro. Sex? Nah he won’t even hold your hand before marriage, however he will love you no matter your gender. I also see him with a female preference just from his straight upbringing and it’s the title he feels most comfortable with after some internalized homophobia, especially with how his dad shamed him for liking makeup. He is still getting used to the LGBT community and I feel like he is still taking baby steps, learning about different identities and wanting to do all he can to support both himself and his fellow actors due to simply not knowing where to start. Don’t worry Azami take you’re time! There is no rush, you are trying to figure yourself out and we all love you so much for it, there is no shame in changing your mind later. We adore you all the same. (If you couldn’t tell, I wasn’t only talking to Azami. If you are still questioning yourself it is 100% okay, because honestly I am too. There is no rush to figure yourself out, and I hope you know that we are all here for you!)
Tumblr media
Tsumugi: Tsumugi is gay, but I feel like he also had a lot of internalized homophobia. I feel like when he was younger he really liked Tasuku but didn’t really understand the difference between platonic and romantic, and it took some time before he was able to really discover himself and come to the identity he has currently.
Tasuku: Tasuku is gay and homophobic.
Hisoka: Hisoka is homo-demi-romantic asexual. I feel like it won’t want to date anyone without really earning their trust and feeling safe around them, and after that point he still will be pretty shy romantically, but it is very much understandable and we all still love Hisoka
Homare: Homare is pan. He doesn’t really care about gender, he just wants someone who will love him and his poetry without seeing him as broken. I feel like after his last relationship he was hesitant to date again, but after some time and help from the rest of winter troupe he was able to rediscover himself. (Also autistic Homare go brrrr)
Azuma: Azuma is an old gay man who just thinks boobs are neat. That’s it that’s the post sent tweet turn off replies.
Guy: New color who this? This is because I didn’t know what to put for Guy, so he simply doesn’t identify as anything. I don’t know a lot about Guy but I know enough to feel like relationships would be very awkward and touchy for him due to his problems with emotions and expression. He isn’t straight, but he doesn’t really identify as anything either. He’s just: Guy. Which is more than valid
[oh also all of winter is Poly and they’re boyfriends thanks for coming to my Ted talk]
Hope you all liked these! Of course they are all my own opinion and you don’t have to agree with all, they’re just how I feel!! Feel free to reply or reblog with your own opinions or Headcanons!!

IT’S FINALLY DONE! Every year, the Rainbow Book List Committee has more books to review, because literature is slowing getting queerer, and children’s and YA lit are at the forefront of that change. This year, our committee of 13 people had to review nearly 500 eligible titles, and 130 (well, 129) were good enough and queer enough to make the list. There were so many terrific books that we got a special dispensation to create TWO Top Ten lists--the first time the committee has done so! The Top Tens are below, and please visit the link above for the full list.
I’m proud of our committee’s focus on diversity--along lines of race, ethnicity, queer identity, and even genre. At least half of the Top Ten Books for Young Readers and seven of the Top Ten for Teen Readers are about characters of color, and most of those were written by authors of color. We also tried to feature as many different letters of the alphabet soup as possible. I’ve noted the racial and LGBTQIA+ rep for the books that I’ve read.
Here are the Top Ten Books for Young Readers:
Tumblr media
Ana on the Edge by Sass, A.J. Ages 8 to 12. Sports Fiction/Figure Skating. MC is nonbinary and Jewish-Chinese-American. Ana is a champion figure-skater. She hates her new princess-themed program, but how can she tell her mother that, when it cost so much money? And why does it bother her so much, anyway? When she finds the word ‘nonbinary,’ she realizes why the program doesn’t fit, but she still has a lot of work to do repairing relationships that have suffered in the meantime.
The Deep & Dark Blue by Smith, Niki. Ages 8 to 12. Fantasy. One of 2 MCs is a trans girl, all characters appear to be Southeast Asian. A pair of twins flee after a political coup that puts their lives at risk. They decide to disguise themselves as Hanna and Grayce, two girls living in the Communion of the Blue, an order of weaving women who spin magic like wool. What one twin doesn’t know is that, for the other, being Grayce isn’t a disguise. This is a beautiful story about self-discovery, acceptance, and affirmation.
Drawing on Walls: A Story of Keith Haring by Burgess, Matthew and Josh Cochran (Illustrator). Ages 6 to 14. Biography. MC is a white gay man. This colorful picture-book biography traces the life and art of Keith Haring.
The Every Body Book: LGBTQ+ Inclusive Guide for Kids about Sex, Gender, Bodies, and Families by Simon, Rachel E. and Noah Grigni (Illustrator). Ages 8 to 12. Nonfiction/Health. Various identities and races included. Filled with self-affirming information, The Every Body Book uses inclusive language, illustrations, and facts to cover a number of important topics for young people including consent, relationships, gender, sex, puberty, and hormones.
King and the Dragonflies by Callender, Kacen. Ages 8 to 12. Realistic Fiction. MC is a gay black boy, his best friend is a gay white boy. King’s family–especially his father–have strong opinions about what it means to be a Black man, and they don’t allow for being gay. But King admires his friend Sandy for escaping an abusive home and living his truth no matter what. If King comes out, too, can his father learn to change?
Magic Fish by Nguyen, Trung Le. Ages 12 and up. Realistic Fiction/Fantasy. MC is a gay Vietnamese-American boy. A young Vietnamese-American boy literally can’t find the words to tell his parents that he’s gay, but cross-cultural fairytales help bridge the language barrier in this beautifully-illustrated graphic novel.

My Maddy is a heartwarming story about a young girl and her parent. Readers learn that not all parents are boys or girls; some parents are just themselves. In this young girl’s case, that parent is her Maddy, a loving, caring parent who lives outside the gender binary.
My Rainbow by Neal, DeShanna, Trinity Neal, and Art Twink (Illustrator). Ages 4-8. Realistic Fiction. MC is an autistic black trans girl. Our Subway Baby by Mercurio, Peter and Leo Espinosa (Illustrator). Ages 4 to 8. Adoption Non-fiction. MCs are white gay men, the baby they adopt is Black. Loving illustrations help tell the story of how an infant abandoned in a NYC subway station was adopted by the man who found him and his partner.
Snapdragon by Leyh, Kat. Snapdragon. Ages 10 to 14. Fantasy. Haven’t read this one yet, so I can’t comment on its representation. Snap gets to know the town witch and discovers that she may in fact have real magic and a secret connection to Snap’s family’s past.
And here are the Top Ten Books for Teen Readers:
Tumblr media
All Boys Aren’t Blue: A Memoir-Manifesto by Johnson, George M. Ages 14 to 18. Memoir. Author/MC is a gay Black man. “Memoir-manifesto” is a well-chosen label for this book, which relates stories from the author’s childhood and young adulthood and contextualizes them within a queer Black experience. Although the author’s family is loving and supportive, pervasive heteronormativity, queerphobia, and anti-Black racism threaten his mental, emotional, and physical safety.
Camp by Rosen, L.C. Ages 14 and up. Realistic Fiction. MC and his love interest are gay Jewish boys. For Randy, going away to Camp Outland is a breath of fresh air, a time to be exactly who Randy can’t always be at school. But this year will be different. This year, Randy won’t be the flamboyant theater kid, this year Randy will be exactly the type of bro Hudson would want to date. Changing a thing or too will be necessary for Randy to succeed, even if that means leaving some friends behind.
Cemetery Boys by Thomas, Aiden. Ages 13 and up. Paranormal/Romance. MC is a trans Latino, his love interest is a gay Latino. Yadriel accidentally summons the wrong ghost in an attempt to prove himself a real brujo to his family who struggle to accept his gender identity. Though he thinks he is summoning the ghost of his cousin, he actually summons the ghost of Julian Diaz, and finds himself with not one, but two, mysterious deaths to investigate.
Circus Rose by Cornwell, Betsy. Ages 12 and up. Fantasy. One MC is white and one is mixed-race, one is a lesbian and one is questioning. Ivory and Rosie are twins and half-sisters, born to a bearded woman who refused to choose between her lovers, and raised in their mother’s circus. After a long foreign tour, they come home to find themselves under attack by religious zealots. As tragedy follows tragedy, will Ivory be able to save her circus family?
Elatsoe by Little Badger, Darcie  and Rovina Cai (Illustrator). Ages 12 and up. Mystery. MC is an aro/ace Lipan Apache girl. In this OwnVoices novel, Elatsoe is on a mission to discover who killed her beloved cousin, and why. If not for her cousin, then she is doing this for her people, the Indigenous Lipan Apache tribe. Elatsoe has the ability to raise ghosts from the dead, a tradition that has been passed down through generations. On this journey it will take vulnerability, wit, and the legends of her people for Elatsoe to understand all that is hidden in the small town of Willowbee.
I’ll Be the One by Lee, Lyla. Ages 13 and up. Realistic Fiction. MC is a bi Korean-American girl, her love interest is a bi Korean boy. Skye Shin dreams of becoming the world’s first plus-sized K-pop star, and a reality TV competition may just be her chance. To win, she’ll have to deal with fatphobic beauty standards, fierce competition, and intense media scrutiny–as well as unexpected attraction to one of her competitors.
Miss Meteor by Mejia, Tehlor Kay and Anna-Marie McLemore. Ages 14 and up. Magical Realism. (I haven’t read this one, but I think both MCs are WLW Latinas.) Lita is a star – literally. After falling to earth several years ago, she’s now living life as a teenage girl. When the annual Miss Meteor pageant rolls around, Lita decides to enter – but will her ex-best friend Chicky be willing to help her? Will the pageant help her forget about the past and imagine a new future? Lita learns that winning isn’t about being perfect, it’s about showing your true self to the world – even the parts that no one else understands.
You Should See Me in a Crown by Johnson, Leah. Ages 12 and up. Realistic Fiction. MC is a black WLW (woman-loving-woman). In this affectionate rom-com, Liz Lighty finds herself an unlikely candidate for prom queen at her affluent suburban school. Shy, awkward, Black, and low-income, Liz has never felt like she belonged, and she can’t wait to leave for her dream college. But when her scholarship falls through, it seems her last resort is to win prom queen, and the scholarship money that comes with it. Liz’s plan is complicated when new girl Mack decides to run for prom queen also…and ends up running away with Liz’s heart.
War Girls by Onyebuchi, Tochi.  Ages 12 and up. Science Fiction/Afro-Futurism. Both MCs are Nigerian, one is a WLW. In a not-so-distant future, climate change and nuclear disasters have made much of the earth unlivable. In the midst of war in Nigeria, two sisters, Onyii and Ify, are torn apart and face two very different futures. As their lives progress through years of untold violence and political unrest, battles with deadly mechs and cyborg soldiers outfitted with artificial limbs and organs, they are brought together again and again and must come to terms with how the war has impacted their lives.
When We Were Magic by Gailey, Sarah. Ages 14 and up. Contemporary Fantasy. MC is a white bi/questioning girl with gay dads, her friends are racially, ethnically, and queerily diverse. This firecracker of a novel follows a group of friends who attempt to correct the accidental murder of a classmate. When We Were Magic combines magic, friendship, and awkward moments to create a captivating story. Each character brings their own uniqueness to the strong group of friends, but despite their differences, their loyalty remains. Author Sarah Gailey has written another page turning novel, with the quirky strange content to boot.

Details About My Fursona!
(May contain some material not suitable for those under 13. Reader discretion is advised.)
Tumblr media
Art: 'RVBShush' on Twitter
Bits of his character arc
Gerry's personality is largely based on his real life counterpart (me! And my name just so happens to be Gerry! XD)
The story between Gerry and and his real life counterpart are both totally different!
His breed is a American Jackrabbit-European Hare mix, as evident by his ears and his hare-like nose. His biological mother is a jackrabbit named Sarah, and his biological father is an Irish emigrant hare named Dermot (hence Gerry's Irish descent).
He's born and partially-raised in a distant part of the North American region, outside of both Bunnyburrow and Zootopia.
A couple of guys on e621.net (where I upload some of my commission pieces) thought I was making him a child to Judy and Nick, when that's not the case at all. He's in a totally different walk-of-life to them. He is however a major fan of the duo, ever since he discovered them on a reality TV show.
It's often expected in fictional media that rabbits (and sometimes hares) would have dozens of offspring/children (as this is sorta true with wild rabbits, as they tend to commonly produce litters, especially in springtime; pet rabbits would probably do so too if given the opportunity...), but that's not the case with Gerry's family. He was the only child born to the rabbit and hare couple of Sarah and Dermot (until a decade later), but he was kidnapped by a deceitful nanny that they unintentionally hired when he was only a year and a quarter old. He was taken to be sold for overseas child labor, but he would then be rescued by the police that busted this crime syndicate, and brought to an adoption centre at Bunnyburrow, but they were unable to track his parents anywhere. Fortunately, he would be adopted by a kind widowed hare lady named Heidi. 7 years later, he would be reunited with his parents, as they were finally able to discover his whereabouts! And not long after, his parents would then have triplets. Two girls named Elizabeth and Virginia, and one boy named Kevin, thus Gerry would become the big older brother of these kids.
His right-side ear got slightly notched as a result of being bullied at school by both a rat named Jake and a raccoon named Kyle, particularly for his emotional drive and rather wimpy attitude during his foster-child school years.
He's not codenamed 'Andro-Ace Bunny' for nothing. He may be a male, but he's one that's quite androgynous. He has some feminine qualities to him, such as taking interest in some female-oriented activities such as yoga, childcare, etc., getting either really giddy or really annoyed easily, doesn't feel comfortable in taking some major risks, and prefering to sit on the toilet in the restroom instead of standing up like a normal guy (though he sometimes would do the latter). Plus, he has little to no sexual desire or attraction, hence the asexual identity. However, he finds non-sexual/romantic attraction towards both male and female of any species, therefore he's bi-romantic!
Character details about Gerry's parents, his younger triplet siblings and his foster mother Heidi will be coming soon!
His likes and dislikes
He’s very fond of video games, culture, drawing, computers, technology, music (particularly film scores, Xmas songs and chart hits from the 80s and 90s), beverages like Coca-Cola, banana juice and milk tea.
But not exactly a fan of carrots (unusual for bunnies! Another stereotype debunked!), coffee (unless it has milk) and heated arguments.
His favourite love songs are "Beauty and the Beast", "Baby Mine" and "Flying Dreams".
He pursues a career as a game programmer and working at Carrot (the 'Zootopia' version of Apple). Though again, he also enjoys drawing as a hobby.
His inspirations
Judy Hopps
Nick Wilde
Judy's parents, Bonnie and Stu Hopps
Oswald the Lucky Rabbit
Peter Rabbit
Brer Rabbit
Jiminy Cricket
Donald Duck (except less short-tempered)
Mickey Mouse
Goofy (mainly his 'George Geef' alter-ego)
Fiver (Watership Down the TV series, especially in his design and colors)
Buttercup (Watership Down TV series, same with Fiver)
The Nesquick Bunny (especially with fur colors)
Porky Pig
Miles 'Tails' Prower
Gonzo and Rizzo
Thumper (Bambi)
Woody (Toy Story)
Lucky Jack (Home on the Range)
Mike Wazowski
Surly, Buddy and Andie (The Nut Job)
and Myself (e.g. my personality, my interests, my overall character, etc.)
Why he’s a rabbit
Just for those wondering...
(The following is a unpopular opinion) Contrast to most Zootopia fans I know, my favourite character in the movie is actually Judy Hopps (with only Nick Wilde as the runner-up, I will add in all fairness). I relate to her the most, and I find her to be a very positive female role model, especially for the next generations to come.
I've been inspired by the fursonas/Zoosonas of @trashasaurusrex, 'CiderBunArt' and @spazziebunnie to make a rabbit fursona of my own. I had a fursona already but this one was a brown dog. So I gave this character a total makeover during autumn of 2016 and changed his species into a rabbit/hare-mix.
According to Zootopia, rabbits are generally very emotionally-driven and effeminate animals. I could practically relate to this with all sincerity. In real life, I find myself to be less masculine than the average Joe where I come from. I don't work out much. I get really excited about something easily. And I have such a very soft spot for babies, pet animals and other cute things. But then there are times where I'm very emotionally unstable and sensititve. I get nervous easily. And whether it be bad luck or a missed opportunity, I tend to get very frustrated or mad at myself.
Ever since the likes of Zootopia and Watership Down, I found myself very fond of rabbits, more than I ever had before.
(Art pieces visually depicting my fursona's story arc will be coming soon and added to this post)

Unpopular Opinion: many things been said against Romione shippers/Fic demonizing Lavender to make Hermione look better But I haven't seen as much complaining about the demonizing of Dean Thomas in Hinny fics set in HBP and afterwards. I lost count how many times I have recently (and by popular Hinny authors!) read fics where Dean was demanding, pushing and trying to pressure poor Ginny into having sex/was bad at it and then being a petty and bitter towards Harry. it reeks of racism. 1/2
2/2 I mean I feel it's partly JKR fault because she went out of her way to make both Michael Corner & Dean Thomas ''horrible boyfriends' (which in Dean case is BS the only thing in canon showing friction is Dean 'pushing' Ginny through the portrait and that can be just as much about Ginny trying to be a 'strong independent woman who needs no man') but if Lavender can get sympathy in fic so should Dean, who we've seen more in the books and who came across as good decent guy.
PS, also getting tired of the biphobia i've seen in some corner of the Seamus & Pavender fandom about how Seamus-Dean-Lavender-Parvati were really gay/lesbian all along and their m/f relationship was fake. Because of apparently bisexuals didn't exist until now... [eyeroll]
I need my demarcation line.
‘ello Nonnie. Fancy a cuppa?
I guess I’ve not been reading much lately over on the other side of my Canon ship (aka Harry & Ginny) to have come across any Dean discourse much anything that could be construed as demonization. (Then again, I have been busy so...)
Damn this got long quickly. Under a cutline just out of necessity.
If I am hearing you correctly, the fic writers are choosing to paint Dean in a negative light to emphasize why Ginny would want to break it off with him before getting with Harry. I must have my head in a hole because the only one I’ve read involving Dean in the last few months was the lovely one from @floreatcastellumposts and that was how Dean and Harry interacted in DH at Shell Cottage. (I admit I do have some appreciation for the subtle angst and how troubled Harry is and how few people he trusts in his life. Been there, done that, binned the t-shirt.)
I’ll also agree completely how HBP altered the characters considerably to make the plot work, including Dean, who up ‘til they was either a wallflower or a background character turn into a problematic male character (and also one of the few Men of Color in the entire series which I find more troubling but I digress.) because of the forcing the plot to have Ginny make him redundant before getting with Harry.
Fic writers can take those small nuggets of information and expand the ideas for such (even if I find it personally squicky AF to have a 16-year-old and Under 16 having those physical relations. *shudder* (Heck, I have problems writing any Linny Under 18 fic that involves anything more than hand holding - but then that’s my Ace showing there.) but to take it to such an extreme and petty expansion of idea is, well, not my cup of tea at all. (There’s plenty I will nope right out of and walk away without commenting if there is a tag I see that will make me shudder or get squicked.) But him being petty and sullen and bitter that he did (in those fics) have s* with Ginny and was bad at it?
I wish the trope of “immediate sex god” would die a thousand papercut deaths because most guys at 16-19 can barely control themselves, much less think of the other person to make the experience a memorable one. (And let’s expand that to 15-95 but I digress.) There’s a reason it’s called wham/bam/thank you ma’am. That’s about how long it takes at that age for a guy. (oops! Showing my age there.)
I personally have zero issues with Dean and Seamus as a ship even if I will never write it (I won’t write MLM having dated 2 in the closet and one stayed in because of safety reasons) but those who do can do.
I do find that The Author did make a bit of a mess of the characterizations in book six (and I won’t even get into how there is a discord of continuity of ethnic heritage involving Lavender Brown) including how Dean was made to look like he was being possessive when for all we know, he was being kind and Ginny was in a foul mood.
But let’s hit on that PostScript which to me is the enormous hippogriff in the room.
Admittedly, Biphobia and Bise/xual erasure is prevalent and it’s upsetting, even to me, the cranky Crusty Ace Dragon. Telling someone that they aren’t what they claim (either saying their straight, really are gay but in denial, or gonna cheat and would you just pick one and stick with it? absolute rubbish.
(I’m intentionally not touching on Pansexual but I can later if need be.)
I’ve heard of plenty who get told they are likely to cheat because they are bisexual. I’ve heard plenty who get told would you make up your mind? and the ever-present, “You can’t be bi because you’re in a het relationship” like that has any bearing on who you are as a person. Hubs and I are visually in a het relationship but we’re not since we’re both Ace Spectrum (aka not-straight - him being Grey and me being Demi) but no one dares tell him such. No one dares mention that to me, either. (Especially after my repeated diatribes on gatekeeping I experienced in the 90s while wandering the alphabet wastelands.)
Frankly, it’s disgusting. And let’s talk about those who want even more bloody gatekeeping, referring to gay men and lesbian women as “Are you a Gold Star XXX?” which is the most epic bullshit I’ve read this year (and that’s taking some serious liberties but I digress.) What kind of bullshit is this, a damn purity test? Not everyone realized coming out of the womb they were gay. Some came to it later. Some stayed in the closet for safety reasons. Some stayed in because it was a no big deal otherwise.
But to tie it all in.... to invalidate the experiences of Lavender and Seamus (and Dean, too) as calling it fake is rude at best, insulting at worst. Now it could be said as performative (which plenty who aren’t straight do go through ‘til they know for certain - or at least did back in the dark ages) but then there are so many under the LGBTQIA umbrella who have had performative relationships to either fit in, hide, or trying to get another to cure them before accepting they were, in fact, not straight. But then that’s the thing about dating in your teens and early 20s - learning who you are but also what interests you and what traits you would want in a long-term partner (if that is a goal) and also what traits are a hell naw breaker for you.
But to expect some kind of irrational purity from the outset and slandering those who had to find their own way down winding roads to where they are happy and content with who they are (with gender and expression and orientation and preferences) and to have all of those experiences invalidated because you’re not pure enough for someone hateful and vicious and unworthy of someone who has probably gone through hell and back just to find their identity of who they are.
The hypocrisy of it stinks worse than I do after a full day of hiking in 25* temps.
So in short, Seamus and Lavender were never fake. Performative, maybe, but not fake. Dean and Ginny dating? Never fake. Erasing any possibility that Seamus, Dean and/or Lavender are Bisexual? That stinks highly.
Quit fetishizing MLM and WLW single-sex relationship.

🌻 About/BYF 🌻 (warning, very lengthy, lots of emojis and obnoxious colors bc i’m just like that™️)
Hi, my name’s Gabriella but I prefer Gabe. Welcome to my discourse blog where I discuss LGBT matters. For some reason it didn’t occur to me that I needed this the minute I made this account so here we are. Here’s my opinions before you follow me. Oh, and everyone is allowed to interact ‘cause this is discourse, just not MAPs or their supporters. I’m reasonably very uncomfortable with their presence and my discourse is about specific matters not relating to them (read: this is mostly lgbt discourse and y’all ain’t LGBT and never will be. stay mad about it you ain’t hurting me 🤷🏾‍♀️). The most attention they have here are posts warning people about them. Everyone else, interact freely as long as you be respectful. 💖
,
- I am a transmed. I strongly believe you need any level of gender dysphoria to transition. Not self hatred, just that disconnection from your brain sex and your body.👩🏾‍⚕️
- I am an ace exclusionist. The acronym ends at ‘T’. Aces are valid and deserve love and support, but cishet ones just aren’t LGBT. 🖤💜🖤💜
- I am strongly against MOGAI. They don’t actually support or help confused kids who suspect they may be trans or attracted to the same gender, just confuses them further and turns them into miserable people (speaking from experience, not even gonna lie). 👎🏾
- Queer is a slur. Always has been, always will be. Respect the fact that not all of us are comfortable with reclaiming it and me and you will be cool. It’s LGBT, not LGBTQ or any variation of that.🙃
- Aces, especially cishet ones have no business reclaiming words like queer, d*ke, f*g, and other slurs. Those aren’t for y’all to reclaim. End of discussion.🤫🤫🤫
- Pansexuality is just for when people want to be sneaky with their biphobia and transphobia. They aren’t more inclusive than bi people, just pretentious at best. If anything, they annoy me more than demisexuals with their obnoxiousness and that’s saying something. 👀 ☕️
- The he/him lesbians on Tumblr (aka folk doing that just to be doing it and not bc they’re closeted or any other legit reason) aren’t valid and actually give me headaches. Long story short words have meanings and I’m sure we all have access to a dictionary! OwO📕 Better open it up!
- I’m willing to believe the existence of legitimate dysphoric nonbinary people. I’m skeptical of nb in the sense in that I think it could be real, it’s just rarer than what Tumblr makes it out to be! 💜🖤💛
- Some brutal honesty? This website infantilizes LGBT members. We need for some of you to accept the fact that not all of us perfect and none of us are your “pwecious delicate sinnamon rolls can do no wrong uwu”. 😇
- I’m pro shipping or whatever you call team ship whatever the fuck you want, but I’m not personally into those kind of ships so just tag the disturbing shit so we won’t have to see it alright? 💔
- Suicide baiting and witch hunts are W R O N G and this shouldn’t be an argument considering how old most of us are. That’s just fact. ☕️
- Radfems/TERFs/any other brand of feminism like those are disgusting and make the entire feminist movement look bad‼️‼️ 👎🏾
Stim blogs, mental health resource blogs, and trans resource blogs have absolutely no business in discourse. Anyone should be able interact with them. Don’t give a shit about people in your community only when they completely agree with you.
- I very much support recovery from mental health. Please love yourselves. Anti-recovery is seriously dangerous! 💖
- Self-diagnosing is horrible and you should leave that kind of thing to a professional.👨🏾‍⚕️
- Already mentioned them but I can’t make this clearer!! I don’t support MAPs!!!🖕🏾Go away!! Bye! Go anywhere else but this website full of children!! Therapy!! Counselling!! Definitely prison if you don’t want those other two things and want your depravity to be normalized!! 👮🏾‍♀️👮🏾‍♂️ Also interact all you want, but like nine times out of ten I’m ignoring you.
Alright that’s all my opinionated ass has for now. Stay tuned, there’s probably more to add on ‘Cause Tumblr’s just like that ™️ and is at a constant state of trying to screw with people.

LGBTQIA+ (and other orderings and additional lettering) - I get why this is popular given the history of the initialism, and I'm not really asking that to change because it is so recognizable and that recognition has done a lot of good. However, the constant addition of letters is confusing and in my opinion divisive about who is included and who is not represented in them. I like the acronym QUILTBAG better. Let me explain… First off it's a word, so is in a sense complete. Words all have origins, and while etymology is important, it is not the end definition and can change to include more and more. I'm going to explain the etymology as I understand it and find most respectful. And how I feel it works better in my mind than the current initialism. Please understand, while I make an argument I will never deny how recognized the current initialism is and how being individually recognized and respected has been more positive as a result. That is not in question, and I do not expect LGBTQIA+ to ever be withdrawn… I just sometimes wonder if we've outgrown it. Now lemme give you more details about what QUILTBAG means to me.
Q = Queer - Queer is for everyone and I personally like the idea of it being first. Though when L became the popular first letter I thought that was super cool because putting women first in anything doesn't happen enough and that constant erases the importance of women as a huge part of the world as a whole… and so 'L' being first is great. But when you put the all inclusive word somewhere random toward the end I think that buries the lead. Especially when you consider all lesbians are queers but not all queers are lesbians. Feel free to replace the word lesbians in that phrase with any other title in the initial soup that is our community. Some find it a slur or insulting but honestly it’s no worse than gay, and it covers a lot more. We're here! We're queer! Get used to it! Queer Nation is an inclusive thing… Or at least it should be. U = Unsure - You might ask why this should be in there at all and I will tell you this: Recognizing that a lot of us start out questioning why we're different and then the questions and sometimes fluidity that follows is important because almost all of us were unsure of who we are or where or if we belong at some point, a lot of us still are, some of us always will be. Unsure includes those who might be afraid to examine that uncertainty and bring condemnation down from their family, friends, and regional or religious communities. Sure you can use the word questioning here, but I think it leaves a lot out, not to mention is ruins my favorite acronym. But mostly it leaves out those searching for us, yearning to belong, not just questioning taking that first step in our direction, but unsure if they can or if we'll accept them, and we should keep them always in our thoughts and always be ready to welcome them even when they still don't or perhaps even never know. This should hold true when the ones unsure our ourselves, about what label the unsure fall under, or if we should help them find one, or unsure how to support some that don't want one or care that more than one or even none apply to them. Uncertainty is a part of all our personal histories in some way, do not erase it or you risk erasing our pasts and our future. I = Intersex - I love love love the letter 'I' being close to the front of the line because of all the other letters this is the one that if normalized can, should, and I hope will one day obliterate the binary. There are so many ways to be intersex that I cannot even list them all, but a few are, chromosomal things that go beyond xx and xy with variations such as xxx, xxxx, xxy, some include an o, plus many other combinations that I probably missed in research and science hasn't discovered yet. Or it could be that someone presents as female but has xy chromosomes, or their genitalia is ambiguous which is an endless spectrum. When you include intersex into a conversation about gender, that binary crumbles. Which bathroom should someone use? If you correctly and rightly include the term intersex and those who are intersex into the conversation, the 'solution' becomes so complex as to demolish the the idea that there is a binary or in the case of bathrooms, that labels even can be put on them. Hello Ally McBeal and the unisex bathroom. That show gave the world the perfect solution and even if on air today, that concept is still ahead of its time. L = Lesbians - I still love the idea that women are not pushed down the ladder just for being women. I like that they and every letter in this acronym have a place that is not decided for any reason by gender or sexuality but because they help make a cohesive whole. Lesbians have been some of the largest lifters of the community and the ones that held us together during times of struggle and death. They historically have not only rejected the idea of women as property but the gender binary with our butch babes not fearing the attention it brought them and the violence often associated with that attention and the lipstick loves that never feared standing beside them. T = Transgender - Much of the same that I said for Lesbians goes for our Transgender darlings, but I like that they are in the middle as well, and not in the forgotten middle child way, but when looking at a stand alone word, acronym, or initialism, your eye goes to the middle first even if you don’t realize it. I hate to skew the reasoning to only the sighted, especially because how I came to this feeling has just as much to do with keypads having a little bump on the five. We can get anywhere on a numeric keypad from that bump. And this might get complex so bear with me. The prefix trans means change to go from one thing or place to another, and they are the embodiment of the word… and we are trying to change the world and the minds of bigots. Those who identify as transgender have such a public bullseye on them. When you think about the trans prostitutes men seek out, you should know they are also the victims of more assaults, rapes, and murders than any other type of sex worker. That getting transitional surgery can be downright impossible if the person does not fit the mold cis doctors feel they should. That they get hate from our community, the community they should feel safe in, is a travesty. To me they're the home key, they run the entire gamut of our community and should be in the center of our circle so they are protected by all of us, just like they have protected all of us time and again throughout history. And I’m hoping that you will continue and help a group I’m just starting to learn about, Two Gender.
B = Bisexual - Another group (of sadly many) that so much of our community don’t recognize, believe, or welcome. They are often ridiculed or made to feel like an outsider where they should feel safe. Bisexuals are much more likely to be sexually assaulted than single-sexuals. They are subjected to public erasure by not just cis-straights, but by gays and lesbians, who in our community are the ones that have gotten to lead it, and like every group to have ever existed, have impressed their own biases and misconceptions on the rest of us. I believe that tide is turning and I hope that sooner rather than later the ones still being exclusionary become more compassionate and see their own hypocrisy and work to better themselves the way we all want the cis-straight world to better themselves and include all of us. Because our beautiful bi's paved the largest path into the idea that a binary does not exist so far. Everyone should be grateful they are breaking such a toxic false narrative. A = Asexual / Aromantic / Agender - The ideal behind the community is that sexuality and gender fall on a spectrum and part of that spectrum, just like the spectrum of color includes black and white and various shades of gray, the colors often seen as colorless, we must include those that are not sexual, do not desire romance, and/or gender does not apply to them. To not include them would destroy the very idea of spectrum, without them there is no rainbow. We need to educate ourselves and that education needs to include the spectrum that exists within just the amazing Ace part of the community. To deny them is to deny all of us.
G = Gay - while the last letter of this acronym, it’s one that must be there. The sad truth of a patriarchal society is that men are granted acceptance first. Men are the ones often noticed first, often heard first, and often the first to change the narrative. I will not deny there is still a lot of stigma against our gay men, many are hated more than their female counterparts in various ways such as being subjected to emasculating slurs, when you are not just men but some of the bravest men in the world. That includes those still in the closet. I want to thank the Old Guard for opening the door, without that we wouldn't have the chance to break down the walls. I want to thank my effeminate brethren for their bravery in the face of violence and ridicule. You also have helped break down the gender binary. Not that you aren’t men, like butch lesbians aren’t not women, but you make the idea that men and women have to hold to certain social standards of what those should look like, and that helps all of us. Though you’re still sharing your letter with the genderqueer, and that sounds like a fabulous group to share with. I hope you agree. But what about all the rest of us? What about all the other initials, letters and numbers? What about the polys and pans that are gaining momentum in destroying the social construct of the binary? What about the two spirits and the hijra third gender? What about all the others that don't have a letter, don't want a label, or fall fluidly under different ones or more than one at some point or other? What about us? What about our allies? To us and our allies, I say this bag is strong enough and large enough to hold us all. We are the thread of this quilt and we stitch it together with the strength of unity. Those that remove us as the thread endanger everyone. When someone picks and chooses what other representations should be allowed into the QUILTBAG because that unravels their own support and foundation and threatens the rest of ours as well.   With that in mind I'd like to bring in the army of kinksters, our BDSM babes, and use the first phrase I learned when I decided to be part of that community too [ Gasp! Could they be part of the QUILTBAG? I think so ] because the idea of Safe, Sane*, and Consensual is the strap, naturally made of leather and chain, holding up the QUILTBAG. Historically anyone today that is considered part of the LGBTQIA+ or QUILTBAG community were once automatically seen as part of the wonderful [but loathed] kinky BDSM scene, no matter what they were called at any given time. So why would Safe, Sane*, and Consensual be so important to those of us not overlapping into the world of kink? The truth is we need to keep ourselves, our partners, and our community safe, protecting every single one, regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, mental stability, physical disability or anything else that is considered 'other' even within our circle. And we need to do this on a macro and micro level. I use the word sane in a *non-medical sense*, but in the broader sense that we need to be reasonable and understanding of social and political and personal climates, so we can make decisions about when to push hard and when a more conservative approach is needed to keep our people as aforementioned: safe. This includes respecting a person's choice to not push if that's what they need to do to keep themselves and those closest to them safe. And support the brave that put their lives on the line no matter how dangerous it gets for those that cannot, the future of us all here now and those yet to come. The word choice leads to the concept of consent. And consent is crucial to a healthy community. To voice consent, lack of it, or removal of it should be respected. To consider the ability to consent is another huge part of that. Allowing children to transition, say no, and be who they are is paramount, but they also are not finished developing, they are often malleable, and often easy to manipulate because they are still learning. To take away their rights or take advantage steals from them. The monsters hurting our children or anyone that is not in a position to stand up for themselves are not part of our alphabet. They steal choice, they steal happiness, they steal lives, and that we cannot, do not, and will never abide.   Another reason why the term QUILTBAG speaks to me is part of our community's recent history. If you do not know what the Names Project was, then I suggest you look into it, but a brief summary is that the AIDS crisis took so many of us, placed the blame on us, again swelling the stigma against us, but ignored that we were dying by the thousands… The Names Project got created and quilts were made with the names of the dead sewn into the fabric. Some of these quilts but certainly not all of them (and by no means all names get to be in a quilt because there were so many dead) were laid out in Washington D.C. forcing people to see us, to help us, to protect us from the cold of invisibility, hate, and ignorance. Our community, our QUILTBAG, is soft, caring, warm, and welcoming because we know what it means to be hated and unwanted; it is strong thanks to the mettle of its members past, present and future; it supportively holds us all, keeping us together and safe from those who would harm us… it is all this and more.
Or at least it should be. Sincerely,
Someone that Should Be But Is Not Accepted Under the LGBTQIA+ Banner P.S. I might also be making a literal quilted bag with a leather and chain strap to carry around

His injuries back in Wonderland also heal within a time period or two, so he’s not really bothered by such things. SOMETHING IRRESISTIBLY CUTE: Fawns over and clings to it, which is what he does with Alice. However, he rarely, if ever finds anything cute (except Alice) so this really doesn’t apply to him.
HISTORY
BIOGRAPHY: Peter is the White Rabbit, as well as the prime minister of the Castle of Hearts and the Country of Hearts. He lives in the castle with his superior, the Queen of Hearts whom he serves as second in command (ear piece for the queen, servant, etc etc.) as well as the Knight/Knave of Hearts, Ace whom works under Peter. A number of faceless maids and soldiers live there as well.
He peeked into a period of time on a whim one day and found Alice, whose feelings of sadness and regret captivated him. He also took notice of the Sunday Afternoons she spent with her sister, which were a precious, treasured time. He could feel Alice’s affection and love for this time period, and before he knew it he found himself watching over her and visiting her often. By loving this time, Alice had come to love Peter himself, who was an embodiment of that time though she did not know it.
Watching over her, Peter saw some of what went on in her life, including Lorina’s death and the effect it had on Alice. He also saw that the time they shared was close to ending, so h needed to act fast. Peter went to Nightmare and asked for his help in bringing Alice to their world, which he agreed to. Between the both of them, Peter was able to take Alice down the rabbit hole and give her the Medicine of Heart, which bound her to the game that would eventually (or hopefully) bind her to their world. He did this because he wanted her happiness, even though it meant that she would have to ultimately reject and discard him. For her to truly be happy means to integrate herself into Wonderland, and to do this she needs to cut all ties with her world. Peter, embodying her Sunday Afternoons as well as the love she had for her sister is one such tie.
Despite all of this, Peter still tries to win over her love and affection, most times with mixed or negative results, because he doesn’t learn and lets his emotions and feelings carry him away.
(Note that from here I get into stuff that applies to Citta only things).
Eventually he ended up in a place called Hive City, and despite Peter being, well Peter, he managed to make friends and find himself a boyfriend while enduring a bunch of messed up shit and slowly changing, hopefully for the better. He still murders people with little to no provocation though. FIRST APPEARANCE: Heart no Kuni no Alice (Game); Alice in the country of Hearts manga by Hoshino.
KNOWLEDGE LANGUAGES: English  SCHOOLING LEVEL: Wonderland doesn’t have a school so he is probably self taught. FAVORITE SUBJECT (S): N/A INTERESTED CAREERS: He’s the prime minister of the Country of Hearts, second to Her Majesty the Queen of Hearts. EXPERTISE: Expert marksman, well versed in swordsmanship and hand to hand combat; well versed in politics, well read in some areas. CHEMISTRY: N/A MATH: Knows a bit above the basics/knows the math necessary for his job. LANGUAGE: Very eloquent speaker; excellent writer GEOGRAPHY: He is well versed in the geography of Hearts and Clover due to the three way territory war that is going on. POLITICS/LAW: He’s a prime minister, so needless to say he is well versed in this area. Hell, he enforces laws, collects taxes, does all the paperwork needed to go govern an entire country as well as a large as hell territory. COOKING: He’s fairly good, but by no means an expert. Taught himself to cook because he does not trust other people making his food for him (could be filled with poison or germs or something). MECHANICS: N/A BOTANY (FLOWERS): He thinks they are filthy things and makes it a point not to go near or touch them. He knows how to identify them but he doesn’t use them for anything. MYTHOLOGY: N/A DRAMATICS(ACTING,SINGING): He has a character song so he can sing; he doesn’t act but he can be quite dramatic when it comes to Alice in that his actions and words are over the top and over exaggerated.
READING LEVEL: High. It needs to be for his job. HOW GOOD ARE THEY AT PLANNING AHEAD: Peter is a very cunning, shrewd individual who is never caught with his guard down. Therefore, his planning is as meticulous as his organization. He makes sure to hammer out every detail and as many possible outcomes as he can.
ROMANCE . DO THEY TAKE INITIATIVE: Depends on who it is. With Alice he took the initiative, but only because he got swept up in feelings he fully didn’t understand. With Ian he prefers to have the other take the initiative until he is comfortable to do so himself. HOW DO THEY ACT(SHY,ETC): Again depends on who it is, and who is showing affection. If it’s Alice, he’s very forward and confident, freely expressing affection without a care as to who is watching. If Alice is showing him affection, he tends to get shy and skittish, almost as if he wants to run away.
With Ian Peter is quite reserved and shy, as well as easily flustered. Since they are just in the beginning stages of the relationship, I can’t expand upon this more than I already have at this time. GENTLEMAN/LADYLIKE VS KLUTZY: Gentlemen like. GO SLOW VS JUMP INTO: With Alice he attempted to jump right into things, which did not go well. I think that he would prefer and actually benefit from taking things slow, especially since he has difficulty with understanding feelings and emotions. Taking things slow gives him a chance to work everything out and develop a deeper, more natural bond of love between him and his partner. (By natural I mean not the type of obsessive love he shows in the games.) PROTECTIVE: He is very protective of those he loves, and will even go as far as murdering someone who is harassing/making his lover uncomfortable. You mess with his lover and Peter will kill you. ACT LIKE FRIENDS OR LOVERS: Depends on who it is. With Peter he tried to act romantic towards Alice, but since he didn’t understand his feelings he straddles the line between friends and lovers. Personally he would make a better friend for her than a lover.
Also in general he’ll start out as a friend but move into lover territory. He is friends first, however. WHAT KIND OF PRESENTS DO THEY BUY: Peter tries to buy things that his lover/partner likes, and is dependent upon said partner/lover.  TYPE OF KISSER: Surprisingly good, albeit a bit clumsy and forceful at first. DO THEY WANT KIDS: Not really, but if his partner does then he will give in to make them happy. DO THEY WANT TO MARRY: Eventually yes, but it’s too soon for that. MAKE GOOD OR BAD DECISIONS: Depends. Some of his decisions are good, but only after truly listening to his partner and taking their words to heart (Alice). Most of the time he makes bad decisions because, again, he doesn’t listen. He needs to be given explanations as to why his decisions are bad, from which he will strive to learn and do better.
Education is necessary with this bun. ARE THEY ROMANTIC: Very. HOW ARE THEY IN BED: Peter is a virgin, so N/A. GET JEALOUS EASY: Oh hell yes, and if not restrained it can get nasty. WIFE/HUBBY BEATER: Hell no. MARRY FOR MONEY: Absolutely not. FAVORITE SEX POSITION: N/A WHAT WOULD HAPPEN ON THEIR DREAM DATE: Basically anything involving his lover/partner giving him affection and accepting his. Bonus points for his love for his partner being accepted and returned. OPINION ON SEX: “There are germs involved so eeewww. However, if you desire it, I will endure it for you!”

"LGBTQ: Acronym for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer. Sometimes, when the Q is seen at the end of LGBT, it can also mean questioning. LGBT and/or GLBT are also often used. The term "gay community" should be avoided, as it does not accurately reflect the diversity of the community. Rather, LGBTQ community is preferred." from GLAAD. they don't use LGBTQIA! i thought you said they supported aces but they're just as exclusionist :(
A lot of organizations use shorter versions of the acronym but don’t mention aces (or intersex people, often) even though they include them in their activism. A tonnnn of groups are like “Everything we didn’t mention falls under the Q!”
GLAAD supports aces, but they could definitely support them more tbh. Here are some places where they include or support aces: http://www.glaad.org/blog/asexual-agender-aromantic - “Let us say without equivocation, the 'A' in LGBTQIA represents millions of Asexual, Agender, and Aromantic people, who are far too often left out of the conversation about acceptance. It was never, ever our intention to suggest otherwise, and we apologize.” https://www.glaad.org/blog/busting-myths-honor-asexual-awareness-week - explains a bunch of stuff about aces and Asexual Awareness Week, and concludes, “GLAAD celebrates Asexual Awareness Week to amplify the voices of those who identify as asexual, aromantic, demisexual, and grey-asexual to be able to live the life they love. Sharing this post is just one way you can participate in the social media campaign.”
https://www.glaad.org/blog/pride-month-begins-support-leading-media-businesses-politicians - includes a tiny salute to Tumblr’s “banner featuring the site's logo in the colors of the bisexual, pansexual, asexual, transgender, and polysexual, and LGBT flags.”
They’re not my favorite org tbh. I am always torn because on one hand, they have done AMAZING work toward positive, appropriate representation of gay men and lesbians. In my opinion, GLAAD is largely responsible for a ton of the movement’s success in things like same-gender marriage, decreased hate crimes toward gay people, etc. Because the effects of their work has really increased straight people’s ability to see others as human, and relatable, and equals. And on the other hand, they were really, really late to get on the “hey maybe we should be supporting bi people” train, and their work on bi and trans representation, and especially on getting the media to write appropriately about bi and trans people, is good but still lags behind. And you can see the effects of that in the media. (For example although bi women and lesbians have been more or less equally represented on TV for a while, there are now 7 times as many gay male characters as bi men. And last year, there were literally over a hundred LGB characters for every trans character on TV. This is obviously not GLAAD’s fault, but the lack of progress in these categories -- and, actually, significant backsliding as far as bi men go, iirc -- is partly reflecting the lack of community support for this stuff.)
And they are even farther behind on ace and intersex people, who still are not included in their “Where We Are In TV” annual report at all. Even though, for one example, they have to be counting other characters from Faking It, which has an intersex protagonist. And they don’t seem to know what to do with specifically nonbinary trans people at all. So I mean, TL;DR: they do support and include aces, but every whole-alphabet group does a pretty shitty job of supporting and including most of the alphabet, despite the best of intentions.

since apparently theres no consequences for delivering unto this website extremely long and good takes i will present to you my hot take on the ace d'escourse, with no sources because I Dont Feel Like It. its more words than is reasonable bc i have been stewing in this for like 4 years and if i dont type it out at some point im going to fucking lose it. no, literally, it’s 3 pages long in word about shit no one cares about anymore. please remember to like and subscribe.
some background on me, i id’d as ace for something like 8 years, from the first time i read the wikipedia page on it back in maybe 2009 or thereabouts. i also id’d as aro for about a year in 2016. that is to say, i have a lot of compassion and understanding for asexual individuals and feel i understand the inclusionist side of the argument pretty well, as i never questioned inclusionism until maybe 2014 or so, when the discourse blew up. i took some time off tumblr because i was so fucking distraught to think that, as i id’d as aroace at the time, that i had to come to terms with not being lgbt. lol i was a little too attached to being ‘gay’ because... fun fact, past dumbass self... you are gay. anyway, i really dont want anyone to feel that i hate them, but after i cooled off a little bit i realized that the exclusionist take on asexuality just makes more sense. hopefully i can explain why clearly enough.
i really believe that what is understood as aphobia is 100% of the time simply a manifestation of our culture’s expectations surrounding sexuality. while “expectations surrounding sexuality” as a very broad topic does indeed cover both the lgbt community and people on the ace spectrum, facing these issues does NOT make a person lgbt. i subscribe to the idea that lgbt is for people targeted directly by homophobia and transphobia. ace issues ARE super important to talk about and the whole inclus/exclus nonsense is entirely because this discourse has been put under the wrong category. im aware that probably most people will not care that much about my opinion on the correct framing of asexual activism as i no longer id as ace but i think this is important for everyone. sexual expectations also weigh on straight individuals, especially women, and i’m going to describe a few examples to try to demonstrate why i believe both that it doesn’t make sense to consider asexuality lgbt as well as why it does make sense to frame it as an issue based mainly in misogyny.
call out post for myself, i use reddit, and i think the r/childfree community is a good example of what i think the framing should be like. although it’s acknowledged that not wanting children has larger social consequences for women, both men and women talk about their issues in the forum, including horrific accounts of reproductive coercion and rape, the intersections with race/being lgbt/ageism (although they could do a LOT better with intersectionality, many posters do touch upon it), profoundly cruel comments made by those who have/want children, difficulty finding an understanding relationship partner, discrimination at work, misunderstandings and even hatred from family and acquaintances, discrimination in healthcare, etc.
i think you can tell where i’m going with this. even though being childfree cuts against the expectations for sexuality in most societies, even though it leads to unfair judgment from others, and even though they face discrimination on the basis of the way they express their sexuality, childfree people do NOT frame parenthood/childfreedom as an axis of oppression, nor do they claim that their lack of desire for children makes them lgbt. it’s not even a question if straight childfree people are straight, because duh? nor if the presence of lgbt childfree people makes the whole community fall under the lgbt umbrella, because it obviously doesn’t.
to drive the point home, the reason why this is NOT an axis of oppression is because parents face a ton of issues as well! they also face reproductive coercion as well as judgment over the number of kids they have, constant scrutiny and moralization over every aspect of their parenthood style, judgment based on parents’ age/wealth/sexuality/marital or dating status/race, housing and employment discrimination, especially for mothers, the government hating poor parents and cutting their benefits, and more i’m sure i’m not thinking of. again, this is due to societal expectations of sexuality. to complete the analogy, people who aren’t ace face their own set of challenges and discrimination. part of homophobia/biphobia is tinged with hatred of our sexual attraction; no one except for straight white men is allowed to really express their sexuality without backlash, and even then there is this shame leading to a lack of proper sex ed and horribly unhealthy understandings of sexual attraction in a large portion of the populace. so calling aphobia an axis of oppression is just not right. and in addition, the large proportion of lgbt aces doesn’t make asexuality lgbt, that’s not how groups work.
some more on what i mean by ‘expectations around sexuality’... in terms of my experience in the US, there is some blueprint in many people’s minds of what a person should be like in terms of sexuality, and that is something like “cishet, abled man, who is neither ace nor aro, who gets laid regularly (but not to excess) starting no later than 18 and ending no later than 28 when he settles down with one cishet abled wife, also neither ace nor aro, who has only had sex with up to three committed boyfriends, and they have precisely two children, approximately two years apart in age, whom the parents can financially and emotionally support to the utmost, because they are also moderately to very well off, and the parents work under traditional gender roles to raise their children as conventionally as possible.” and if you deviate from this script in ANY way that’s viewed with moral panic and scrutiny by someone. and the connection to misogyny is that women are seen as sort of the bastions of sexual morality. we are punished especially harshly for nonconformity.
if you’re poor you’re fucked because either you don’t have kids or you can’t send them off to private schools and feed them fancy organic shit. if you’re lgbt or polyamorous or aro or ace? fucked! if you dare to reproduce as a disabled person, and if your disability impacts your parenthood, especially for women, you’re practically crucified even in liberal circles. if you have too few kids or too many (don’t you know only kids turn out weird? / how can you possibly raise 5 children properly?), if you have too much sex or too little, if you split up the work in your relationship not along gender lines, if you do unconventional things in your parenthood, like accept your trans kids or move a lot or any number of other things, the social judgment rains down like the fires of fucking hell. meaning practically no one can escape it!! huge bonus to the screaming crowd with pitchforks if you’re a person of color or a woman, mega ultra bonus to women of color.
but does that make everyone i just talked about lgbt? no! although every single one of the groups i mentioned is tangentially related through this issue, even though all of them face a lot of horrible problems and discrimination, that does not make those issues inherently lgbt. again, they are tangentially related and i could see a good case for solidarity among many of the groups mentioned; all of them are fighting for greater acceptance of different kinds of relationships, greater acceptance of seeking happiness and being who you are rather than pressuring everyone to conform as much as possible to the LifeScript. but all of those groups are equally related to the lgbt community - that is, tangentially only. just as you can be childfree and straight, a stay-at-home dad and straight, a straight woman of color, so too can you be polyamorous and straight, ace and straight, or aro and straight.
that’s it for my main point. ace and aro people? your lives are hard. i’m not going to downplay it in any way because i know there are a lot of people who actually hate your guts. fuck, i’ve seen people full-on shittalk asexuality, in the internet and real life, in the most blatant of ways, so it’s not just something you can necessarily escape by logging off. not as much so for aro people tbh but i predict as much once the Public gets more wind of your existence. i fully believe that you face a higher risk of sexual assault; discrimination in relationships, housing, and the workplace; horrible comments from everyone who thinks their shitty opinion on your sexuality and love life matters; and I believe you that that hurts and is terrible and that you deserve a place to discuss and provide support.
but. those issues are not exclusive to you. they’re not exclusive to lgbt people, or oppressed people, and so those issues don’t and cannot make you lgbt, nor do they make ace/aro vs. allo an axis of oppression. our communities intersect, yes, considerably, but you are not a subset of lgbt. perhaps our rhetoric can help you, but because straight ace and aro people exist you cannot and should not consider yourselves lgb+. i think you understand that the issues you face are a form of oppression, but they are the result of the toxic and misogynistic sex culture in this society, which, yes, targets lgbt people but also, practically everyone, including groups which are definitively absolutely not inherently lgbt, such as parents, gnc straight people, poc, disabled people, the list goes on.
to conclude, what really converted me to being an ace exclusionist was the example of a straight grey or demi ace. how could you possibly argue that someone who falls in love with the opposite gender only, but with more conditions or less frequently than someone not aspec, is lgb+, can call themselves queer, etc.? exactly what material reality does that person share with a gay or bi person? i think that their issues fall in line with aspec community issues but extremely clearly not at all with lgbt ones.
the end but post script since i brought up orientation modifiers: perhaps it isn’t my place to say, but i don’t think that microlabels are very healthy and that it would make more sense for the ace community to work on expanding the idea of what sexuality is than to try to create a label to describe every single person’s experience of their sexuality. not that i think you should necessarily kick grey ace people out of the aspec community or that they’re not valid or whatever, but that perhaps it makes more sense to say that some people experience sexual attraction less frequently, and that’s alright. i don’t know.  i spent sophomore year of high school poring over those mogai blogs looking for some new orientation label that would make me go like, oh my god that’s me! and believing that if those labels helped people feel that way they weren’t doing any harm. but what actually finally made me feel like that was expanding my understanding of what attraction is and a better conception of lesbian issues and why i might feel so disconnected from my sexuality and why i might be obsessing over every interaction with a guy looking for signs i was attracted to him but feel super disgusted whenever they exhibited interest in me. i spent so long trying to go like maybe im cupioromantic lithsexual and feeling terrified that that i had such a weird and esoteric sexuality that no one could ever possibly understand enough to be in a relationship with me... like, ok dyke! i know a lot of people have had similar experiences and i don’t think i know a whole ton of people now in college who are still doing that, which makes me think those labels are more harmful than not.
i guess that’s anecdotal but it’s easier for me to believe that a person could cling to those labels due to internalized homophobia than actually have a new form of sexuality heretofore undiscovered throughout all human history, but that’s just me. and so many of them just sound so unhealthy, like dreadsexual. i really wish people would work on expanding what not being asexual can mean and look like and i dont think there would be this drive to create these labels anymore. even demisexual which i think is probably the most mainstream conditional orientation, i think many people who have never heard of it and are perfectly content not to would describe the way they experience sexuality a similar way and just consider it normal. sexual attraction isn’t necessarily having your nethers set aflame upon first making eye contact with someone, it looks different for every person and it’s alright to just be how you are without making it part of your whole identity.
The End II. this is 2,200 words. if you read this far you’re a fucking mad l- *the academy cuts my mic line while looking directly at the camera like in the office*
