Finished Silvio's route, solid 8/10. I mean I still have questions and things I wanted to see explored. Like more about Silvio's past and why he behaved why he did. I mean I got a glimpse of it in the dramatic route a bit. Maybe I will do the romantic route too someday. Congrats Silvio, you got into the second playthrough team. But I'm satisfied with this. So here are some sketches of the ultimate tsundere. I really love that the guy that is all about the money and wealth has taken blue as his primary color. And it is that Lapis Lazuli kind blue = one of the most, if not, the most expensive pigment made. I'm really curious why his hair has a small tuft of dark blue color there. Has he dyed it? Is it natural?

Also more my ramblings... In the prologue, as they set the world, they talk about how this game takes place in late medieval time. (of course a fictional world, but not like fantasy, with magic and such (shame really, I would love there to be some magical elements there)). BUT the clothes... the fashion... They are very modern in many aspects. I know, i know, this is very nit picky of me. This is pretty much like Bridgeton. A period fiction. But really, they didn't need to go give us a reference to a certain time period xd They could have left it even more vague. But alas... This is not really a criticism, as I can totally see past this. I just find it funny.

BUT ONE THING THAT MADE ME PUT MY PHONE DOWN FOR A MINUTE WAS THIS:

My young horse girl self just was ready to smack Silvio off his horse. You don't use reins to encourage horse to go faster! Not even with the carriages either. But especially not when you actually ride a horse. Reins are for steering and slowing down. You use weight and your legs to apply pressure to horse's sides to encourage them to go faster. (ideally you could do this only by using weight, but that needs skill and a sensitive and well trained horse.) Routes and ratings so far (my opinion purely, there is nothing else to it really): 1. Clavis's route, dramatic ending + epilogue. I laughed so much and the theme was very interesting. Cyran was MVP. 9/10 2. Silvio's route, dramatic ending + epilogue. He was an asshole, I wasn't disappointed. Enjoyed the ride and the political shit with usage of money. Giving me Itachi vibes with the gesture of messing your hair. Could have used more Carlo. Also where is Emidio?? 8/10 3. Licht's route, dramatic ending. He edgy but sweet. I wanted to see more of twins being twins and I got some of that. I was happy :slight_smile: And he loves horses, more points from that. 7.5/10 (the reason why I didn't do epilogue for Licht was because I didn't use walkthrough and I didn't want to start paying for those points :0 4. Nokto's route, dramatic ending + epilogue . Playboy, got what I asked for. Entertaining. Could have needed more time with Licht. I want to see brothers being brothers. 7/10 I see my style evolve and I kinda like it. Indulging my teenage aesthetic. Sometimes face shapes get all weird and I'm not sure if it is because they are weird or that I'm becoming blind to them and am just trying to find something weird.

Hi Puff! Idk if anyone has asked you this yet but what are your thoughts on the god of war game series? Are they actually more "accurate" about the greek mythology then LO? xD

oh lord, I'm def not a good person to ask about this question because I haven't played through all the original God of War games (though it makes me laugh to think about them because watching my oldest brother play the first game when I was like 7 years old was the first time I'd ever seen video game boobies LOL) but considering it's just a hack and slash game in which you brutally murder the gods... ima give it a big noooo on that one LOL it's about as accurate as LO in that it's more about spectacle and drama than it is about actually being accurate to the myths they're based on lmaoo

As for the Norse series of games, I actually HAVE played both God of War 2018 and Ragnarok and loved them both, though I'm not as well versed in Norse mythology so I also can't say if what they take from Norse myth is accurate. Obviously I know that Atreus/Loki has zero relation to fictional character Kratos from Greece and I have basic understanding of general concepts like Yggdrasil and the nine realms among other things like that, but the finer details regarding the stories of the characters themselves I'm not as brushed up on. Hella great storytelling though and I appreciate the lengths they went to to make it feel like a Norse-myth-inspired environment, even down to the vocabulary and terms used.

Just like with LO, you shouldn't be taking any of what God of War does or says at face value. If you like the games (or LO), use it as an opening hook to get more into the actual myths if they interest you. But definitely don't use them as any sort of credible source LOL

Now that I'm typing out my thoughts on this though, I think the biggest difference between GoW and LO (one that makes GoW far superior to it) is that the creators of GoW never once led their audience to believe that they were more than what they were, a hack and slash video game inspired by specific myths. What you see is what you get with GoW, but LO - and Rachel - constantly feel like they're actually trying to be taken seriously and that's what makes it all the worse when their storytelling is godawful and the amount of actual "myth" they have in the comic amounts to as much as a Family Guy cutaway gag. Just completely directionless and uninspired to the point you wonder why it's even an Greek myth retelling to begin with. At least GoW fully immerses itself in the myths their games are based on and has a shitload of fun with it, with LO it'll just source some copy pasted Princeton document or lazily tell some mythological metaphor that has nothing to do with the overarching plot so that it can remind you "hey this is a Greek myth retelling!" before getting back to its bland Keeping Up with the Kardashians romance. The mythological "inspiration" in LO feels more like tired lip service at this point rather than actual inspiration, which is really bitterly ironic considering Rachel used to tote around calling herself a "folklorist" and claiming that everyone else's knowledge of Greek myth compared to hers was "basic af".

TL ; DR: The biggest difference between GoW and LO in their retellings is humility IMO.

So he's just tied up in the back end of the mirror, getting to 'watch', but really just he can't see enough to satisfy him. Just gets to hear you call out so sweetly for Marco, until Marco tells you to go ahead and call out for Sabo and maybe he'll join you. You don't know he's back there tied up and it just makes him a bit more feral to basically hear you beg for him to come join (feral sabo is hot lets be so real)

Feral sabo blindfolding and tying marco up, and instead of giving marco the orders to do to you, starts giving you the orders on what to do to marco. Has you edge Marco a little, and can see you're getting frustrated yourself, so he just takes you over top of Marco and all he can do is lay there and listen. We've hit Fall Saturday in the Chill Save, and instead of more store times today, we instead have a party! Because Smiler needs to have more parties, and I wanted the specific rewards you got from this specific party. :D However, before we had party times, we had to get through a few things --

-->Firstly, Victor had to discharge again upon waking up -- wouldn't be good if he magically exploded during the party! He and Alice hung out with the cats for a little bit -- Victor getting a song from one of the kittens by the phonograph (as said kittens are very Talkative) and Alice giving Kelly some time with the laser pointer -- then I sent Victor to the mirror to make an important change. Not to his wardrobe --

But to his, and everyone else's, last names. I THOUGHT I might have to go into "Manage Worlds" to change this, but as it turns out, you can update a Sim's name right from the mirror. So everyone in the household is now surnamed "Van Liddelton," like their grocery store! :D I was very happy to be able to do that -- while I wasn't exactly UPSET with them all ending up with the last name "Always" from the web of weddings we've had in this save, I genuinely prefer being able to give them a name that reflects all of them. :)

What about Yo Han? Has he forgiven himself for not saving Isaac? Does he still have nightmares? Does his father's shadow still pressure on him?

Jokes aside, I can understand if you're curious. The fic doesn't really focus on these issues since it's Ga On's POV and it would only be brought up if Yo Han chose to speak about it. And, right now, he has no reason to. But they were important themes in the drama and I'm not addressing them at the moment. And I honestly can't promise they'll ever be addressed with the same level of detail we see Ga On's recovery since, well — it's not Yo Han's POV.

But, to answer your questions:

Has he forgiven himself for not saving Isaac?

Not entirely. I think the vengeance helped — because Yo Han is the kind of person where it WOULD actually help — but, as is often the case, it doesn't fix everything, not even for him. There will always be a certain amount of survivor's guilt.

BUT I think he's more ready to move on now and, since he's not constantly thinking about getting revenge, he'll be able to let it go more and more. Especially once he finds a new purpose. He IS a little adrift at the moment, to be honest — as one tends to be after what you turned into your life's purpose is suddenly over — but focusing on Elijah and Ga On helps.

This is very much a time of healing for Yo Han, where he chooses to direct the majority of his attention to the people he loves because, well, he kind of realised he fucked up in that regard. He wanted to avenge Elijah's parents but ended up treating her pretty poorly as a result. Not his best moment.

So he's trying to find a new purpose and, in the meantime, he's dedicating himself to getting better at communicating and taking care of Elijah and Ga On. It's new but quite exciting for him — and something he desperately needs, if you ask me. He's discovering that he can actually be very kind and caring — it's not even particularly difficult. He just needs a little more practice, that's all.

So he's doing better, yes, but it's not entirely gone.

Does he still have nightmares?

Yes. Same here: I don't think they'll ever truly go away, but they have decreased in frequency. The fact that he's focusing on other things — like his shameless flirting, being a stand-in househusband, his audition for the position as Ga On's sugar daddy etc. — means the trauma isn't at the forefront anymore. But the nightmares do return every now and then, yes, since that's what nightmares do.

Especially since he now has NEW nightmare material. Ga On isn't the only one having nightmares about that night when Ga On tried to kill him, if I put it like that. They're different in their angle, of course, but Yo Han has nightmares too. For a while there, I'm pretty sure those nightmares even overpowered the ones from the church fire, simply because they were newer and a lot more raw.

I mean, we all know this line, right?

"But you'll regret it for the rest of your life."

Yo Han has definitely had nightmares where the answer is:

"No, I won't."

and

"Why would I?"

and, not to forget,

"You actually fell for that?"

And just imagine how much worse that last one got once Yo Han admitted he's in love with Ga On.

Does his father's shadow still pressure on him?

Yes, though I'd say that, too, has lessened. Quite a lot, actually. Now, I can't say for sure how Yo Han handles his trauma, but it feels like he got started on dealing with it during the drama and he's had over half a year to keep working on it. So while the scars will never heal entirely, I think he's more at ease with that whole thing.

Just speaking about it out loud, getting validation, and being told that, yeah, that shit you experienced is terrible, honestly does wonders. It can reframe your entire grasp on your trauma and I think that, for Yo Han, this whole thing went from: "I was punished as a child for being unwanted and a monster" to: "no, hang on, my father was just straight-up an abusive asshole and I didn't deserve that."

Which is extra important since I think that, whether Yo Han meant for it to or not, his two main traumas probably bled together a little in his mind as the years progressed (at least in his darkest moments). That somehow their father was pre-emptively punishing Yo Han for what he would do to Isaac later (i.e. fail to save him). Because, despite being incredibly intelligent and insightful, not even Yo Han is immune to that horrible habit of blaming yourself for the abuse you've been submitted to.

BUT, thanks to being so intelligent and insightful, I think he'd have an easier time breaking out of that mindset as soon as he gets a reason — which he did during the drama.

And you can bet he's been picking that and himself apart for the past months and reevaluated how he viewed what happened (with the help of some relevant books, of course). That's not to say he can heal his own childhood trauma by the power of thought, but if there's ONE person who can get pretty damn close, it's Kang Yo Han.

All that said, he's no doubt having a bit of a dip now that he's back at the house where it all happened. Trauma be like that. Which is one of the reasons why he's so excited to see Elijah renovate it. Partly because it always seems to have been her house in his mind anyway, but also because he hopes that'll rip out some of the bad memories as well.

So he's working on it. And, to be honest, I think this is the trauma he'll move on from first. Yo Han is too efficient and pragmatic not to realise that, nah, this was just his father being an asshole — he's not to blame. There will still be pain, bad memories, scars, and quite a lot of justified anger against his father, but he can see it for what it is and leave it at that.

And why waste energy on an asshole anyway?

So yeah. Yo Han is working on it, at his own pace and in his own way. And, as said, I'm not sure if it'll ever be addressed in the same way that Ga On's trauma is, partly due to the POV thing, but also because my take is that Yo Han is just more internal when it comes to dealing with stuff like this. I don't think he feels that strong of an urge to talk about it? Especially once he realises he's actually dealing with it pretty well on his own.

And it wouldn't be for the same reason that Ga On has a hard time talking about his problems — not wanting to feel like a burden, not wanting to cause a scene etc. — but more because he just doesn't NEED to. It's already being taken care of and talking about it won't really make a difference. Again: pragmatic.

And no, not in a self-sacrificing "no one cares about my problems" or "no one can help me" way. Just a "not everyone has to talk about their issues over and over in order to feel better" way.

I think Yo Han is very self-sufficient once you've put him on the right path, is what I'm saying. He found that path with the help of others (and some relevant books) and now he'll keep working on it until he's satisfied.

So it probably won't be dealt with in detail since Yo Han is doing most of the work internally, on his own.

… The acting in the whole series is stellar, but Checkmate really deserved some awards all ‘round.

Neal’s not just terrified for El, he’s also having to go through the torture of watching Peter suffer like this, and the show doesn’t cut around that. The way it cuts to him being like ‘I need to go hyperventilate in a corner of the yard’ when he hears Peter say ‘hon,’ bc he knows what that means. Matt Bomer has very expressive eyes and you can just see the agony in them through the whole thing. He’s looking down the barrel of losing what have become two of the most important people in his entire life in different ways, partially bc of his own actions, and that shatters him. Half of this is his fault, and he knows it. It’s heartbreaking to me that even in that moment, he desperately still wants Peter to know he didn’t steal the treasure. He knows he’s at fault but he needs Peter to know he didn’t do that, at least didn’t betray him like that. Ultimately, it’s not a huge comfort, but I don’t think he’s trying to dodge blame, I think he just wants Peter to know he really didn’t do that to him.

Meanwhile, obviously Peter is completely wrecked. Tim DeKay became a master of stoicism over in the show and it’s on full display. When Peter lashes out it’s serious, and the anger and pain are palpable. One of the people he loves most is in danger and he’s absolutely livid at the other bc it’s partially his fault. His son got his wife kidnapped. On top of his son lying to him for months and finding out that his son was thinking about leaving. The anger is perfectly understandable, but I do feel like you still feel his feelings for Neal through it. He snaps, quite understandably, but he’s not completely tearing into Neal and accusing him of not caring or anything, he trusts Neal’s help and ultimately reassures Mozzie, the person ultimately responsible for a lot of his pain this season, that it was Keller’s choice to kidnap El. He cuts off the pointed accusations about leaving when Neal tells him he didn’t want to, and doesn’t accuse Neal of trying to get out of things. Neal saying he didn’t want to leave clearly means something. Peter can be absolutely terrifying when he wants to be, as evidenced by how ready he is to just tear Keller apart. I feel like it shows a lot about his care of Neal that he’s comparatively restrained with him and lets him help. Peter is careful with what he tells Neal if he doesn’t trust him. The appearance of the most emotionally wrought ‘damnit Neal’ ever. Peter trying to shut Keller down when he’s taunting Neal about lying about the treasure, sounding downright protective. And like how Neal’s consequences aren’t just having El be endangered but also having to watch Peter go through this, Peter in pain both bc El is in danger and it’s partially Neal’s fault (and Neal was lying to him). He’s both panicked and betrayed. Someone he loves is in danger bc someone else he loves lied to him. The way he’s still worried about Neal when they lose contact and forgoes immediately rushing to El to go rescue him.

Meanwhile El is a queen. The sheer nerve of being told not to pass messages and then blatantly passing one (also Satchmo for best boy). She also has no doubt that Neal will help rescue her rather than run away, and despite being very frightened holds herself together with aplomb. She’s smart enough to get out of the building with allows the FBI to find her (for someone as allegedly smart as Keller, not checking her jewellery for diamonds is hilarious—maybe he just didn’t think she’d know that/be bale to get to the window). She immediately tells Peter to go get Neal first (w/ all the intensity of ‘go get our boy, dear’).

While I’m generally annoyed w/ Mozzie for any number of reasons, he’s also great. He talks shit but he cares about the Burkes, not just bc Neal does, and sees them as separate from The Establishment. He immediately comes back when he learns what happened (I really wanna know what Neal wrote, was it just ‘WE GOT EL KIDNAPPED BY KELLER’ in bright red capital letters???), and walks right into the FBI. I think it’s also a consequences moment for Mozzie, albeit one that doesn’t really stick, bc he’s the one who taught Neal how to be this self centred, he’s never cared about the effects his actions have on others in the past—partially bc he’s never been in so deep, or pissed off anyone as violent as Keller. He’s also one degree removed—like sure, he cares about the Burkes, but it’s a different relationship than Neal has w/ them. He probably didn’t even consider that Keller would focus on/suspect Neal and by extension them. Mozzie also thinks overly highly of criminal life—he’s got the whole ‘gentleman thief’ illusion. The idea of Keller involving a civilian may never have crossed his mind, bc he projected an ‘honourable battle’ sort of thing onto the situation. He would never involve an innocent civilian, so he doesn’t think that Keller might.

Also if we’re giving acting chops, he’s not family, but I gotta hand them to Keller’s actor, too. That guy does an excellent down played menacing. Definitely much more frightening than his hired muscle.

Mini blog update! <3 After much discussion with @honorisen​, I’ve rewritten the YGO Vrains verse into something completely new and more fitting for Sera, and have added another new verse: Somnium Crystallum, a high fantasy, completely original world exclusive to Kasa coming soon to a screen near you. XD I’ve also done some fidgeting around with my mun FC’s; I’ll now be mainly using the Tonberry as well as Chikuwa, the cute dog seen in the icon above as my mains, with YGO GX’s Judai/Jaden as a secondary! If you’re looking for a mun post, just keep an eye out for dog and Tonberry, mainly! <3

As a final note, with the addition of Somnium Crystallum to my verses, I’ve added a note to my rules regarding Genshin Impact - Namely that I don’t play it and won’t be anytime soon. I have no ability to play and any knowledge I have on the game comes from reading the wiki and from Kasa, and though I don’t mind crossover type threads and some muses from GI may be seen in this verse even, I’m incredibly hesitant to write anything set in it’s world due to this. I don’t feel comfortable essentially going in blind and not being able to give an interaction my all and know, fully, what’s going on, so at the moment, unless a GI muse can pop on over to a more FF or original setting, I’ll be unlikely to do any GI-set threads at this time. <3 Sorry to anyone looking for that once this all goes live! <3

Interestingly, through the loss of my dad and then a certain trigger happening (a song I used to listen to when I was still in school), I realized I'm not only mourning this actual loss, but also what I've lost in the last years even before my chronic illness became more severe. There's barely anyone left whom I feel close to, and I really miss that feeling of closeness to someone. At the same time, I feel like all this is exactly what needs to happen at this time. It's a little weird to feel this while also feeling that immense loss.

Also, I'm really curious what life will have in store for me on the coming years. How everything is going to pan out. I feel like I'm just preparing for what is yet to come, like I'm still waiting for the thing I'm meant to do in this life and everything will become clearer once these things have started happening. Idk what it'll be, but I think I'm on the right track, however difficult it may be right now. I can't wait to see what the thing will be 😶 But I'm looking forward to it, it's probably going to be something great (for me anyway).
