It's a pretty afternoon on Coruscant, for once.
They are standing just at the entrance of the Jedi Temple, waiting for Wolffe to come out, and Fox is enjoying his moment of sunlight without having a barrier over his head, when there is something flying towards his head. In a snap, he has raised his hand and caught whatever it is.
"Nice catch!" Fox looks over to see Wolffe jogging towards them, with a small bag in his hand. He glances down at his own hand and to whatever he had just caught.
It's a fruit of some sort, round and with a very light and soft pink color.
"Souvenirs from General Koon", Wolffe says, opening the bag in his hand. "He called these Hallous and said we had to try them."
He starts to give everybody else a fruit from the bag as well. It's moments like these that Fox kind of wishes he also had a Jedi, who would call them all by their names and give out fruits and other treats. Fox isn't even sure when the last time was that he actually ate fresh food.
Everybody is taking a bite out of their fruits already, not bothering to wait until Fox gets his musings to an end. They all seem to enjoy it with smiles on their faces, so Fox takes a bite as well.
Fox hadn't thought before this that it could be possible for a food to punch him inside his mouth, but now he has to believe it. The fruit is spicy like those hot peppers in the stew that Thorn had bought in one of the first weeks of their posting, and it leaves a rough, tingling afterburn in Fox's mouth. The same afterburn follows the piece of fruit down his throat when he swallows, making him cough.
Cody, who is standing closest to him in their circle, reaches to pat him on his back.
"Don't choke", he says. "Wolffe probably doesn't want to go and tell General Koon that his fruit killed you."
Fox draws in a deep breath. He looks all of them over. Rex and Bly are still munching on on their fruits, with not one twitch in their expressions.
Fox's eyes are burning with gathering tears. He hurries to wipe them away.
Is his spice tolerance this bad? He hadn't thought so before, but...
Fox looks back at the fruit in his hands, then back at the others. They are almost done with theirs.
Fox is not going to give them any more reasons to make fun of him. They've been doing it lately more than enough, about everything they just possibly can. He takes a second bite and keeps his face still.
He's almost out of breath after the last bite, but he doesn't let it show. Thankfully nobody is pointing it out, too busy with heckling Bly at the moment because he just happened to accidentally call his General by her given name.
The burning feeling inside his mouth and throat don't leave him fully until the next day. He really, really needs to work on his spice tolerance.
---
"Oh, love", Breha is giving him a slightly concerned smile. "I'm sorry."
"It's fine", Fox manages to mumble, before he has to sneeze again. Thank Manda, he already had a tissue in his hands. His eyes and nose are burning.
Breha sighs.
"I should've made sure", she says. "You haven't really lived anywhere with this much...nature, before."
"You couldn't have known", Fox coughs. "And really, the Kaminoan's were supposed to engineer us without these kind of promblems."
"I don't think that's possible, with how many of you there are", Breha says. "Some things like this must've slipped, or happened during the gestation."
Possibly. Fox is not going to pretend that he understands anything about genetics.
Breha leaves for a moment, and Fox hears her move around the kitchenette area their living quarters have. She comes back with a steaming cup in her hands.
"The Hallous are in season in the Northern Hemisphere", she tells him, setting the cup in his hands. "They make a sweet tea blend infused with them, and it's good for your immune system."
Right. Fox guesses that something that spicy might as well burn all the nasty gunk in his airways away, so he takes a sip. He scrunches up his nose a bit from how much it burns, and Breha gives him another tissue, before getting up again.
She comes back a few minutes later with her own cup, and starts on her work while calmly sipping from it.
Fox is honestly impressed. He hadn't thought that Breha had much of a spice tolerance. Bail certainly doesn't have, and much of the traditional food of Alderaan is very mild and puts great emphasis on clean flavours. Oh, well, he learns something new every day. This all just now means that even his wife has a better spice tolerance than him by far.
He finishes his tea. It doesn't make him feel any better, as now his throat is even more scratchy than it was before. All it really does is making him even more tired, but he can't really sleep because of how hard it is to breathe.
He glances longingly out of the window. It's pretty out there, with gentle sunlight and green trees and everything in blossom, and he is allergic to all of it.
Fox grumples and closes his eyes.
---
Bail comes home the next week with a mild cold, and Fox watches him drink the tea like it's water. Alright, now this is really just embarrassing.
---
Fox tugs nervously at the collar of his suit. It's dark blue and goes together with what Breha and Bail are wearing, and he suddenly feels like he is out of his depth. Wearing the armor had given them all some sort of anonymity, even to him with his distinct paint job. It's probably going to take a while until Fox gets used to people looking at him, and looking at him without it.
It's also still strange to not be the one who is standing on guard, but to be the one who is guarded. Fox's job tonight is to stand there, look presentable, and not make a scene.
Things are still a bit...tense. There have been deglarations of peace and all that, but in many places, it still feels like one wrong move can light up everything again.
Fox can't help himself but to keep an eye out for everything that happens in the room. This is the first time after the War that Breha has travelled anywhere that is not in the Deep Core, and Fox is not going to stop himself from feeling protective of her. She is his wife, after all, and Fox has all the training necessary to keep her safe, if the situation demands it.
In the meanwhile, he tries to fullfill his primary job. Stand there, look presentable, and do not make a scene. He is still new to his position, so he is not yet expected to make some deep political statements.
Stand there, look presentable, and do not make a scene. He can do this.
Things are going well when they are served the first drinks of the evening.
"Here, Your Majesty", the server gives Breha a glass first, and then turns to Bail and Fox. "Your Highnesses. We do appreciate a lot of the same flavours as you in the Deep Core, and I think you will find this drink familiar. It's made with Hallous concentrate, to bring out the natural flavour powerfully and really make it the star of the drink."
"Thank you", Breha smiles brightly at them. "That sounds lovely."
Fox also thanks the server as he takes his glass, and does not show anything as their host gives out a speech and then a toast, and drinks with the rest of the guests. He manages to keep his face still by breathing deeply through his nose. All those years of training saving him in this moment, even if nothing what he learned while growing up was supposed to prepare him for a situation like this.
The drink is awful. Absolutely disgusting, if you ask Fox. It's so spicy that it stops tasting like anything at first, and then leaves a raw, bitter burn all the way down to his chest. His tongue feels immediately like it doesn't fit into his mouth properly anymore, pressing painfully against his back teeth. Fox really, really does not understand how every single person in the room can drink something like this and not automatically make even the slightlest of faces. Is this really just a thing he doesn't understand about people who were born into Royalty? Is it really just that much of an acquired taste, and him not liking it just shows that he really is just a nobody compared to them all?
Fox is proud of how well he managed to power through it, all of those things concidered. He tries to swallow a bit, to wash the taste out even a little, but he's barely getting his own spit down.
He sucks in a breath between his teeth. It's not reaching his lungs properly, leaving him feel weirdly unsatisfied. He tries again. It's barely getting past his lips, which feel...oddly numb. Huh. Was the spice really hitting him that bad?
Then it hits him that he can't breathe.
Fox tries to swallow again. It gets stuck somewhere at the back of his throat, the same place where all the air is getting stuck as well, and he clears his throat a bit behind his hand. It helps a little, letting him get something down to his lungs, but Fox has been choked out before and he knows when it's not enough.
It's not enough.
Sateen is with them, and he is standing closest to Fox and Bail, with Breha's own bodyguards standing next to her, and Fox, in his rising panic, sees him turn towards him.
"Fox?" Sateen asks, keeping his voice low as he steps closer and carefully grabs Fox by the arm. "Are you alright?"
Fox tries to say no, but then there is white static taking over his eyes and he vaguely feels himself pitching forward-
-and he wakes up with something heavy on his face and a rush of cool air, and he gulps it up desperately. It enters his lungs with a deep, sweet relief, and then makes him cough.
There is a hand on his forehead, large and warm and familiar. Fox has the mind to open his eyes.
The first thing he sees is Bail's extremely concerned face above him, and then somebody else's as they lean closer to him.
"Deep breaths", they say, and Fox obeys. The more air he is getting in, the more aware he is becoming of his surroundings, and that is when he notices that there is a lot of commotion all around him.
He tries to look back up at Bail, to ask what is going on, but the other person telling him to breathe is really insistent of him doing just that and not talking, so Fox relents just for a moment longer.
He does glance around from the corner of his eyes, though. The whole room is in absolute chaos, with people shouting and screaming in a rising cacophony, and with multiple Guards in different uniforms trying to contain it all with seemingly very, very bad results.
The people leaning over him are talking something about oxygen levels and adrenaline and blood pressure and a lot more that Fox doesn't have the capacity to understand right now, so he just breathes.
He does feel a sense of disappointment in himself. His job had literally been just to stand there, look presentable and not cause a scene.
He isn't standing, most likely doesn't look presentable while lying on the floor, and this definitely counts as a scene.
Fox presses his eyes back shut. Just his luck.
---
Rex: I can't believe that you out of all of us managed to almost cause a full blown conflict because everybody thought you were poisoned, while you were just having an allergy attack
Rex: I thought that was a thing only Skywalker and General Kenobi were able to do
Fox: Shut up
Bly: No, no, really. You really couldn't tell that you were allergic to that stuff? You've seen all of us eat them with no problems!
Fox: You guys are all a bunch of weirdos, how was I supposed to know that you all didn't just enjoy eating shit like that?
Wolffe: Next time you see us eating something without problems while you are actively choking on it because it tastes like molten lava to you, please call us a bunch of weirdos out loud. That could save the Galaxy in the future, apparently
Fox: Cody, Ponds, they are bullying me. I almost died!
Ponds: and almost caused another conflict while doing so
Cody: Stop it, everyone. We're glad that you're okay, Fox'ika
Fox: Thank you. At least somebody here still loves me
Cody: BUT, there is a saying Obi-Wan used to say-
Fox shuts down his commlink at that point. Bail gives him a sympathetic look from the chair next to Fox's bed.
"Are they making fun of you?" He asks.
"Of course they are", Fox huffs, and then resists another urge to just reach to his back and scratch. "I almost died and I'm suffering and they're making fun of me."
Bail takes his hand gently to his.
"I'm not making fun of you", he says, with humour in his voice but enough soft love in his eyes that Fox lets it be for now.
"Thank you", Fox says, squeezing Bail's hand. Partly to show back affection, partly to stop himself from giving into the urge to scratch. "How long do I have left?"
Bail looks at his chrono.
"Another hour", he says. "I'm sorry. We just want to make sure this doesn't happen again."
"It's fine", Fox sighs. "I would rather it doesn't happen again, either, but why does testing for allergens take so long?"
"That, I do not know", Bail says. He then straightens up a bit to take a look at Fox's back.
Fox sees the grimace on his face, even though Bail tries his hardest to wipe it away quickly.
"I'm karked, aren't I?" Fox asks.
"Well, I wouldn't say so", Bail tries to smile placatingly at him. "I'm sure it's completely normal for it to look like that."
He, very wisely, understands to shut up after the next look Fox gives him.

🌟 (for that ask prompt you reblogged!)
I think the intention was for you to at least give me a story to pick an excerpt from, but sure, I can talk about dielectric breakdown again
there's a lot of kind of small details in dielectric breakdown that I'm not sure anyone's really noticed, because nobody's ever commented on it
one of them is the fact that I gave echo vitiligo:
This is when he realizes there's someone waiting in the corridor just outside the courtyard. It's a brother, leaning against the wall and dressed in a civilian's dark jacket and trousers set--not the typical wear for a Temple-bound clone. His face has pale splotches trailing from around his eyes up to his short-cropped hair, creating a short streak of snow white against black. There's a constellation of silver neural ports embedded in his temples and pale scars visible along his scalp and he's got a scomp link for a hand. His cheeks are pinched and he's on the scrawny side--not scrawny like he hasn't gotten enough to eat, but scrawny like he's been sick for a while.
it's also mentioned later:
Echo is silent and reaches for the cup of tea. There's pale splotches on his hand, too, covering a few of his fingers and going down to his wrist. He holds the cup carefully between his hand and his scomp link, blows on the tea, and takes a careful sip. The smell of the tea is just as Cody remembers from all those late nights with Obi-Wan. It feels…appropriate to have it now.
which was kind of my response to echo losing all his melanin for whatever reason while he was a POW, he gets some of his pigment back but not all of it.
the other thing that nobody's ever commented on is this section where cody is talking to rex:
Rex sighs and scrubs a hand over his face. "Some...incendiary words were said. I'll leave it at that. It's one of the reasons Ahsoka doesn't come around as often anymore."
"If one of my brothers had insulted and degraded my family the same way Skywalker had done to Tano's, I would probably not talk to them very much, either," Cody says.
"Yeah," Rex replies. "I know."
There's an extremely awkward silence.
I try to generally trust that my readers can read between the lines, so I'm not typically pointing out meaning in these things here, but the unsaid part here is that rex said some shit about cody's family (and obi-wan) which is why they don't really talk anymore.
the relationship between rex and cody is probably the most important one in dielectric breakdown, and one of the things I thought about a lot when writing it is that they are mean to each other. like this is five years of their relationship being on the rocks, three years of not really spending time with each other anymore, and they know each other better than anyone else and they use that to get under each other's skin so bad. they are existing in a sort of perpetual sliding scale of passhole aggresshole to straight shouting at each other because they just can't get over the things that pulled them apart to begin with because they're just so stubborn even though they both want to be good brothers again
dielectric breakdown is notable because it's one of the stories where rex is the big brother instead of the little brother, and that's not because of like oh I think rex is a big brother so much as the story is a lot about cody being a big brother to so many of his men that he has kind of a hard time working with the reverse relationship, of him and his big brother rex
I know I've explained in previous posts that obi-wan and cody are explicitly not in a romantic relationship because that would undermine the point of the plot, but more than that, obi-wan gets deliberately cast as a big brother figure to cody, by drawing direct parallels to the scenes with cody and echo. there's also the callback to the scene where cody tried to call rex so he could tell him he was about to get brain surgery and terrified about it and found out he was blocked, where cody is telling obi-wan how he was terrified to have his surgery and obi-wan tells him it's okay to be scared
anyways. dielectric breakdown is a good story.

20 Questions for Fic Writers
@cacodaemonia tagged me for this one and I've never actually looked at my AO3 stats, so this should be interesting (for me, anyway)...
How many works do you have on ao3? 119, which is kind of...something when you consider that I only started writing fic again in 2022
What’s your total ao3 word count? 101, 481. Yeeps.
What fandoms do you write for? Most of those words are for The Clone Wars, but there are some other SW shows/movies in there too. I'm 100% Star Wars these days. But there are also works from Stargate, Firefly, Supernatural, and a couple of others.
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Pillow Talk
Forty Winks
Intensive Care
Whiskey Tango...Foxtrot?!
Crime and Punishment
The first four were all part of Codywan Sleep Bingo 2023, the last one was for 501st Bingo 2023
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? I do! I always respond to thank those who left me a comment at the very least and will try to answer questions or react to something specific if they have called it out. Fandom is about interaction.
What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? I suppose that depends on how one defines angst. Intensive Care ends with both Cody and Obi-Wan gravely wounded in bacta tanks. But None of Us Perfect ends with an OFC giving Anakin advice that will ultimately fail because...you know...Vader. So one of them is what I would maybe call "modern angst" in that fandom seems to have more specific definitions of it now but the other seems like a somewhat happy ending when we all know it's really not and never could be.
What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Honestly? I have no idea. These days, I tend to only write happy/fluffy sort of stuff, so most of them end well. Strictly Ballroom is about Waxer and Boil's first kiss and it's pretty sweet and happy, I think.
Do you get hate on fics? To date? No. Will I eventually? Probably? I dunno. I'm pretty small potatoes in the fic world....I don't have the kind of spotlight that draws hate.
Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Yes, I suppose that I do. 98% of it is clonesex, but there is a side of het in there with Thire and an OFC because when I started writing smut, I needed to do it with the kind of sex I am familiar with.
Do you write crossovers? I have written one crossover in my life. It is not on AO3.
Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not that I am aware of, no.
Have you ever had a fic translated? Yes, but it was a million years ago in a fandom far, far away.
Have you ever co-written a fic before? Yes.
What’s your all-time favorite ship? This question gives ME angst. I am not a shipper by nature and I've never had an OTP. In TCW, I very much enjoy Rex/Cody and it probably edges out my fondness of Codywan a little.
What’s a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? I have about 15K written as a sequel to None of Us Perfect and I really would like to finish it because I started it when the Kenobi series aired as a sort of tribute to my friend Alex, who passed away before she could see it. I'm also just really fond of that OFC and would like to tell more of her story. But it's such a personal project that gets me deep in my feels, so it can be hard to work on.
What are your writing strengths? If the comments are to be believed, I'm somewhat funny? I do think I can turn a decent phrase from time to time, too.
What are your writing weaknesses? I used to write in past tense and, back then, I think I was pretty good at action, but now that I'm in present tense, I don't think that's true anymore. I struggle with it not reading staccato (he did this, then he did that, then this happened), so I actually tend to avoid it.
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? I tried it once with that crossover mentioned above, but did it phonetically because I wanted the readers to have a sense of how it sounded instead of just looking at words in a language they didn't speak. I don't think I would do it again aside from a word here or there as needed.
First fandom you wrote for? Highlander: The Series
Favorite fic you’ve written? I have a very soft spot for the second HL fic I wrote, which is probably still online somewhere, but I'm not going to try to link to it because it's under my real name (because that's how we rolled in 1997). Here and now, under the cover of usernames, it's probably A Brighter Star than You.
Thanks for the tag, caco! That was more fun than I thought it might be. I'm going to open tag this because I feel like I have been hitting the usual suspects pretty hard with the writing game tags lately. If you see it and want to play, please do so and tag me back so I can see your answers! And, because caco is a genius and did this first, here's a list of the questions for you to cut and paste:
How many works do you have on ao3?
What’s your total ao3 word count?
What fandoms do you write for?
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending
What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Do you get hate on fics?
Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Do you write crossovers?
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Have you ever had a fic translated?
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
What’s your all-time favorite ship?
What’s a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
What are your writing strengths?
What are your writing weaknesses?
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
First fandom you wrote for?
Favorite fic you’ve written?

sw culture week day 2 - food
Loving mexican snacks tbh! These two are just eating some elotes and gordita rellena after a long day, so yeah that's it. These are two of my favorite snacks, so I couldn't miss the opportunity to draw them!
They're both using jarocho clothes, which are typical from Veracruz. Someone on the last post suggested I should draw those next so if you're seeing this, this one is for you!

Traditionally, october 28th is the first day of the celebration, the first day most people start doing their ofrendas (not me bc my family does ot the 31st lmao).
October 28th is know as the day of the lonely souls. You're supposed to burn a candle and to put a white flower. Souls start arriving this day, but today is specially for all those souls who have nowhere to go. They have a special day, please don't forget them.

Why am I seeing so many people convinced P**k is coming back and soon.. I’m not strong enough to go through it seriously… if ratings aren’t currently “doing well” and how is bringing back *that* one person a major win? Isn’t it kind of troublesome that ratings will improve because one person returns? I think that says a lot about the company is they’re propping up this person and giving them “quality” and not to the rest…
quick answer: because chris jericho tweeted that he had always loved working with @ punk so obviously everyone who were clowns and thought jericho was the only/main anti-punk voice in the locker room are celebrating thinking this means they've won!! he's back. and jericho is a goat and the best ever etc. the rest of my reply is beneath the read more because i got rambly and long winded
longer answer: the ratings aren't even doing that badly, january was really strong both for ratings and for in person ticket sales (their walk up tickets sales were really good) but one meh week and one bad week means the sky is falling and we have got to bring back in the hero cm punk because he is a ratings mega draw (which ignores the reality that the aew product had never been hotter in the june and especially july lead ups before punk even stepped foot in the company at the end of august, but again people don't really care about the real facts, it is simply that hurr durr purrnk is a draw).
now when hangman was champion the bad ratings were put on his head, but the good ticket sales/ppv numbers weren't accredited to him. which i think is unfair, as people were invested in the hangman and hangman/kenny story for all the years building up to the crowning moment of his win. and it was kind of thrown away in favor of guy who was having a goldberg run burying over talent he could leech off of (if that sounds familiar to say cody rhodes fans: hi!! how ya doin, welcome, hope you enjoy his mania moment). i genuinely think you can look at these bad ratings and see there's been a decline since mox lost the title. mjf is not over like he was, his character is stagnant, and his offensive promos aren't edgy they're just bad.
people think punk coming back will fix the ratings, but i genuinely don't think so. he was very protected when he was on tv, given the best spots so of course his numbers look good, but if you really look - and especially say the time he returned from injury - the numbers weren't great. punk talked about how he made that million dollar gate but they've done three of those without him, and a lot of the fans of aew from before punk showed up have said that the original feel of the company is gone and it is soulless. good wrestling alone cannot keep a company hot.
all that being said here's where we're at, pretty much every journalist is sniffing around it and afraid to say it outright but kenny omega's working on either injured time or a handshake agreement. aaa who had a fine working relationship with aew until wwe hopped in have said they're not working with aew anymore, but they'll work with kenny omega. the bucks contracts are up at the end of this year. hangman's contract is up this year. tony is at a cross road right now where he can pick the four guys he chose and made this company with, who the fans are invested with, who are younger and have proven they'll work through injuries and pandemics to make aew work. who have scouted and brought great talent in, who have invested into the company from day one, or a guy who has maybe a year, two years max left (if he doesn't get injured again) who was offered day one to be a part of everything and said nah and waited until everyone else had made it clear aew was successful and came in to rapturous applause and love and killed that good will throughout the fanbase and locker room as the months ticked by.
four vs one.
wwe have said they're not as aggressively pursuing jay white because they're focusing on a bigger talent, and i know everyone wants that to be ibushi, but it's gotta be Kenny or Hangman. ibushi would be a great book end to nab as well, but both kenny is the bigger name, kenny is who they wanted in 2018, who they were so sure they had that vince, trips, steph, and shane all came out and cut a promo smugly alluding to the fact they had them, only to be made to look like geeks over it. or page who is young can go in the ring/cut a promo and is so beloved he could be one hell of a top guy for them.
do i think punk will be back soon? idk maybe, they've set up a precedent about what he has to do to be welcomed back with thunder rosa. she stood before the locker room and apologized/owned up to all of the things she did that had hurt people and if you think phil brooks is capable of going mea culpa! then sure he's coming back.
do i think punk vs any elite match would happen? no. and i do think if punk comes back the elite will leave. do i think that in the long run this will be better for the aew numbers? not one bit! i personally won't start watching wwe again i watched it for years and not even a golden lovers reuinion could make me watch their product on a weekly basis again. it's bad, it's production is nauseating, and on a 'parasocial note' it would be incredibly disheartening to see guys that i respect and who have been consistent in calling out the fed and the fans of the fed go over there it's gonna be crushing.
would i keep watching aew? idk probably not. there are wrestlers i love within the company, but largely the stories they're telling right now, and their top champion (and their potential next tag champs) i actively dislike and don't enjoy. so there's not much impetus for me to keep watching a product for a couple wrestlers i like. again, i did that with wwe and it became insulting as a viewer to do that, and was in part what made me stop watching for years! so i think i would stop watching wrestling again and move on with my life. sucks, but i'm very into watching things i like and not giving my time to things i don't.
so all this to say there's no actual anything that says he's coming back, and the earliest he could be back is still a couple months away. but people love to work themselves over the winks and nudges some people who maybe know something might have maybe implied. but you're right bringing one guy back to save the show means you've fucked up the show, especially when it was pulling in over 1mil viewers before that guy came in. if you're fumbled the bag over making the show just about him once (and i think that is easy to say, no matter how good the matches were you cannot point to a guy he was in a feud with who was better off after losing to him! but i can point to a good few who were worse off.) at the expense of guys who are fan favorites (twitter and tumblr are a bubble, it's seen time and time again. remember when everyone hated britt baker and were tired of her and wanted her off their tv except she was still getting the loudest pops from crowd after crowd?) idk
it's bad all around, contract szn is always miserable but who knows where and what will happen. show to show my enjoyment for dynamiate & rampage remains about the same because i have fun watching it with friends/family and talking about it, but everything outside of those three hours i am just not having fun with wrestling unless it is fun i am making for myself. so i'd just say if you're in a similar boat as me then have fun! make your fun, i love doing my silly little edits that make me insane, and talking to friends about the hot guys who beat the piss out of each other. and if i don't have fun i solve that by muting it when mjf speaks <3

As you know, I have been trying to make Priscilla Pynch a more regular/important character in my Rescue Bots AU's, but I would like to know what is her role or just what she does in your AU's!
Tumblr media
I want to know what this little devil and her demon mom do on the island to the Burns family!
Truth be told I haven't really thought much about the villains in my AUs, just when they're relevant. Fortunately, I have given Priscilla a thought or two. And here they are!
Techno-Organic Cody
I was actually inspired by Disney's Hercules for this idea. Basically, Priscilla's role would be like Meg.
One day, she was minding her business, but then something happens, and Cody uses his powers to save her.
Her mother found out about this, and instead of being happy her daughter is okay, she would be fascinated by what Cody did.
They would think Cody had used special tech and Madeline Pynch would want to get her hands on that tech and make money from it. And she would make her daughter help.
Priscilla would try and get close to Cody, under the guise of wanting to thank him for saving her.
Everyone would be suspicious, but Cody would give it a chance, wanting to the good in her.
The beginning would be awkward, but the two would bond and grow close.
Priscilla would be surprised that someone actually like for her, not her money or status, and she would allow herself to really open up to him.
Cody would be able to see past her mean girl exterior and would like who she is deep down inside.
Meanwhile, Madeline would be furious her daughter is wasting time, Frankie would be half-concerned and half-jealous her best friend is hanging out with an enemy, and Charlie would be worried of losing his son to possible criminals.
I actually imagine Priscilla telling him the truth and what her mother wants. She expects him to hate her, but she doesn't want to lie to him and get him hurt.
But Cody would be understanding, knowing it's her mother's idea and the two would actually grow closer, despite their families not liking the relationship.
He might even tell her what he is, and Priscilla would keep that secret with her life, no matter how much her mother demands her to tell.
Oldest Child Cody
Honestly, I was hesitate to share this since I've only thought of this recently but I decided to go for it.
For this AU, I'm gonna age her up so she'll be around Cody age, basically they're both adults here.
She would be something of a rival towards Cody. She would be one of the few to see though Cody' perfect facade, and one of the few people he wouldn't bother acting perfect around, since to him, she's not worth the effort.
She would also be a bit more of an active participant in her mother's schemes here, maybe not enough to put her in jail too, but still.
The relationship would also be rather complex. They act civil and polite in public, but behind closed doors, they are not shy about disliking each other.
But at the same time, Cody appreciates that there is someone he can actually be himself with and not worry about consequences. And Priscilla appreciates someone who doesn't try to suck up to her and get on her good side, someone who tells her to her face that they don't like her. And the fact that its resident Mr. Perfect Cody makes it rather exciting.
So they have complicated feelings towards each other. They say they don't like each other, but deep down, they actually do. Even they don't understand what they feel towards each other.
Empath/Telepath Cody (The AU you pitched a while ago)
Little Miss Priscilla would one of the many people Cody tries to help in this AU.
I actually got the idea from your drawings. Mainly the one where Cody is hugging Priscilla.
In this AU, Cody would be able to see how miserable Priscilla really is and would want to help her.
Priscilla would resist at first, but eventually, she would given in and seek Cody's help.
Cody would be her unofficial therapist for a while.
And after a while she would develop a crush on him.
Cody would be oblivious about this, he knows she crushing on someone, but not who, since he doesn't want to invade her privacy. And if he knows its him, he'll be hesitant because he doesn't want to feel like he's taking advantage of her.
They'd get together eventually, mainly because Priscilla can be persistent when she wants to.
You have made me ship these two. I hope you're proud of yourself.

•Local Non-binary with he/they pronouns, I'm Pan so I'm good with any male/female/enby/anything. Although I am physically attracted to anyone, I prefer to go for personality compatibility if Im interested in long term.
•Also they have to be cool with a Poly relationship b/c I am not getting of elderitch-bunny my beloved.
•PROBABLY have some form of ADHD and I'm prone to stimming when I'm nervous or happy. I hit things, bounce and shake my hand when I'm very excited. I chew things, bounce my leg and click/tap my pen when nervous. Im prone to getting overwhelmed by stimuli on my bad days.
•I DO NOT LIKE VERY MANY PEOPLE. I am the type to keep my mask up, hat down and headphones on. Don't talk to me I don't have the social skills to talk about anything other than art supplies and various fandoms.
•If I do like you I will be a complete attention whore though. It is a complete 180, like a dog that only likes 2 people and demands to sleep in the big bed.
•Artist at heart! I'm a jack of all trades due to my compulsive side and the internet not having EXACTLY what I want. Amazon doesn't have a certain mask? Makes it. Amazon doesn't have a painting? Makes it. I will randomly decide to do stuff and proceed to hyperfixate for 3 days.
•CINIEMATIC NERD. Yes hello I saw Marble Hornets once and decided to take a four year class on cinematic production because I thought poking a demon would be fun. But really. I'm a film nerd and I'm not allowed to sit next to certain people during movies because I froth over soundtracks and camera angles. I have photographers anxiety over 24-105mm camera lenses and leaving the camera on autofocus. It's an actual crime btw- always Manual focus: the autofocus is haunted and can't be trusted.
•I would need someone who can get excited over this really cool stick I found as we come up with ways to use it, but also someone who can slow down and just vibe with me when my brain is not having a good day.
•I need someone to Match my choatic bullshit but also take a nap because the sun sucks and people suck.
•ALSO. IM FULLY CONVINCED BEN AND JEFF ARE SECRETLY E-BOYS HIRED BY THE GOVERNMENT TO INFILTRATE BY ACTING LIKE EDGY TEENAGERS AND I DO NOT TRUST THEM.
•[spontaneously goes and sits on the roof for no reason other than Compulsion]
•Be prepared for a random questions and random times.
•I HAVE CANONICALLY GONE TO AN IHOP AT 3 AM DUE TO INSOMNIA.
•Also I adore coffee and would legitimately kill a man for it.
•compliment me and I'll punch a wall, yes this is true irl. I get very hyped up like a dog when I get complimented.
•I also tend to disassociate! It's like the opposite of sensory overload-- where the world is muffled and fuzzy. I will suddenly be at the store with no idea how I got there alive. Luckily this doesn't happen too often!
Uhm-- good luck? I feel like i ranted oh god I'm sorry- ?????
IT CAME OUT AFTER VALENTINES IM SORRY BUT HERE YOU GO LOVE
i match you with: cody !!
i probably didnt get this correct but just so you know, ILYSM HELP. you're just so cool sOBS /pos /p
cody actually also loves film and does photography as a hobby! you get drama from arguing over camera angles 😩
jokes on you, cody is the eboy hired by the government. he pretends to be super tough n cool but in reality he's so soft
he's not super good at art (except sketching and charcoal drawing gore- for some reason he's good at that) but he loves watching you do your work. if you want to decorate any of his stuff, he's always up for it!
in my au, cody is a mix between a wolf and a cat; he likes naps, bubble tea, blasting music, and is very protective of people he likes. he's someone you can talk to when you're upset and also someone you can burn down a government building with if you want
he will 100% join you in any of your weird adventures; loves all the random things you come up with and adores all the random and sometimes illegal things you guys do together ^^

Smallfoot (Treelight City AU) | Chapter 8
Note: paragraphs are from the movie novelization.
“Okay, it’s a little fuzzy, but I think I’m starting to get it,” Cody said as he stared up at the wall he and Brittany had drawn on.
Cody had taken Brittany back to his home. Now in his room, the Stonekeeper’s youngest son was trying to learn all he could from the Smallfoot. Because they didn’t speak the same language, Brittany drew a series of pictures for him, in order to describe the human world. Cody tacked the drawings all over his wall and studied them while Brittany watched as she sat on Blaze’s trunk.
“Your job is to tell stories that fly through the air in a series of pictures in rapid succession that magically appear in other smallfoots’ homes,” Cody said.
Although all Brittany heard were growls, she had an idea that this Yeti was smart. “TV. Right,” she said, making a shape to represent a TV.
“And what is that thing here?” Cody asked her pointing at a house.
“That’s the roof of my home,” Brittany said, gesturing above her and indicating a house. “Home.” She made a triangle shape with her arms.
“Home?” Cody copied the movement. He heard high-pitched gibberish from Brittany as she repeated the word, and Brittany heard growling from him as he repeated the movement.
“Are we saying the same thing?” she asked excitedly, and they both repeated the word and movement of the house.
“Oh, is that, like, your best friend?” Cody asked as he pointed at the man with an angry face and money bags in his hands.
“That is evil banker man,” Brittany answered, hopping off Blaze’s trunk as she imitated the man on the wall. “He wants to take away my home because of something called a ‘variable rate interest’.”
Cody growled in confusion.
“Apparently, I don't know what it is, either,” she chuckled. She shivered and hugged her coat closer to her. “The air is really thin up here, isn’t it?”
Cody growled and pointed at the animals Brittany had drawn on the wall.
“Those are animals,” Brittany said.
Blaze trumpeted as he pointed at the wall, causing her to scream and fall to the ground. Cody laughed, followed by Brittany as she was nuzzled by Blaze in the trunk.
“Cute,” she said, and she got back from the floor. “Anyway, the point is, this is why I do what I do. I was fascinated with other species, like you. Actually, nothing like you. You’re really extraordinary. But lately, I started to care about how many people are watching. About how popular I am. Wow. Hearing myself saying this out loud...what’s the Yeti word for ‘pathetic’?”
Cody only looked at her as she continued speaking.
“When I was nine, I discovered my first lion. It looked like this, see?” Brittany took a small piece of the chalk-like rock and drew on the wall. Cody watched her in curiosity as she drew what seems to be a lion.
“It looked nothing like this,” she said as she drew over the lion drawing. “That looks like a fat poodle. Here, I’ll just show you.”
Brittany pulled out her phone, and she turned it on, a holographic picture of a lion appearing on Cody’s body. He gasped in surprise and attempted to touch it; which is impossible since it is a holographic image.
“Okay. What is that thing?” He asked in wonder.
Alli ran up the staircase, the images of Yetis being chased by the humans never leaving her mind. How was she going to tell the others, her friends, about the truth behind the humans?
No, she can’t.
She would have to keep up the lie, in order to protect them.
“They don’t care about us.” The Stonekeeper’s voice echoed and repeated in her head as she thought about how she was going to tell them, to the Yetis, to Cody.
“Lives are at stake, Alli.”
“They don’t care about anything but themselves.”
“Good lies.”
“Which is why we must do the same. Protect our world.”
“Your friends, your sister, Cody.”
She pressed her hands against her head, trying to keep the voices out of her ears.
“No, don’t do that! What are you doing?! You’re ruining it! Stop, stop it.”
Alli heard Cody’s voice as she walked through the palace halls. She entered his room and found him playing a game of some sort through Brittany’s phone with her, as she shivered and sat on his bed.
“Red one up! Up, up! Now, over the blue one. Blue one. Three in a row. Yes!”
“Cody...”
“Not now, Alli.” Cody continued to cheer Brittany on as she played the game, attempting to keep her strength as she played. “Ooh! Okay, down, down. Right side. Purple thingy. Slide it, slide it. Oh! There we go! Boom! Ha-ha! Whoo!”
Alli stared at in worry and confusion.
“Alli, I’m putting shapes next to other shapes to make the rows disappear. It’s pointless and a total waste of time, but I can’t stop!”
The shapes and rows suddenly disappeared, and the words that read ‘Game Over’ appeared on the holographic screen.
“Aw, there goes our high score,” Cody groaned, but when he turned around, he saw Brittany wobbling on his bed, her skin blue.
“Smallfoot?” He walked over to her and his body covered up the screen, revealing his wall covered in drawings of the mountain and people and other things. “Hey, are you okay?”
“Feeling a little woozy,” Brittany slurred, trying to keep her balance. “I’m going to need some more oxygen. Oxygen. I can’t remember my own name.”
Alli saw the drawings on Cody’s wall and walked over to it to study it. “Um, what’s all this?”
“Oh, uh, we learned how to communicate!” Cody answered her. “That’s her world, and I think it’s really big, and there are more Smallfeet down there. Like a lot more.”
She looked at the stick-figure drawings of humans that Brittany had made, to give him some idea of how many were actually out there. But Alli gasped in horror and imagined them all carrying spears.
“Alli, I think something’s wrong,” Cody called to her. She turned and walked over to see Brittany, whose skin is pale, breathing trembling and is hugging herself to keep herself warm. “She doesn’t look so good. She’s cold and her breathing’s off.”
Alli heard the Stonekeeper’s voice in her head.
You see, we knew that up here, the Smallfoot could not survive.
“I think we need to take her home,” Cody said.
“What? No!” Alli protested, and she swept Brittany up in her arms. The Smallfoot could not go back to her world! If she did, the Yetis’ whole village would be in danger!
“No? Why not?” Cody asked her, slowly walked towards her. “What if she’s really sick? What if she needs help?”
“Just stop asking questions!” Alli snapped. She couldn’t tell him the truth.
Cody stopped, hurt by her words. “Stop asking questions?”
From outside, Nate blew his horn, calling the villagers’ attention. Cody and Alli looked through his window to find Nate on his mammoth and the Yetis heading towards the palace.
“Attention, everyone!” Nate called out. “The Stonekeeper has an announcement.”
Cody saw the panicked look in Alli’s face and grabbed her arm before she went any further. “What’s going on? Do you know? You look like you know something.”
Alli pulled her arm away from Cody’s grasp and backed away. “Just stop, please!”
And she ran off with Brittany towards the front of the palace.
Cody glanced at where she had left, before turning towards the outside through his window.
The villagers were gathered around the palace, murmuring to one another about what is happening.
“Well, well, well, what an interesting day it’s been,” the Stonekeeper said. “A day full of excitement and questions. So many questions. I must admit, the events of the day even had me asking a few.”
Josh, Sam, and Matt made their way towards the front of the crowd and eyed the Stonekeeper in suspicion.
“I smell cover-up,” Josh whispered.
“So I asked Alli to join me so I could question her about her amazing discovery,” the Stonekeeper continued, and Alli came up, carrying Brittany under one arm, an uncomfortable look in her eyes. “And together, we’ve reached the same conclusion. Alli, tell them about what we learned.”
“Yeah, um...”
Brittany panted heavily, her visions blurry as she saw the Stonekeeper first, then Alli.
“The thing is, see...uh...” Alli started. “Yeah, it’s, uh... What I was going to tell you is, um...”
She glanced at Cody who looked at her in confusion. Then she found Nabel amidst in the crowd, but her mind was envisioning her being impaled by spears all over her body. She gasped in terror.
Josh, Sam, and Matt eyed her in suspicion.
“It’s not a smallfoot,” Alli finished.
The Yetis gasped and began to murmur. Josh and Sam were shocked and looked at one another in bewilderment.
Matt laughed but stopped. “Wait, what?”
Nabel sighed and shook her head in heartbreak.
“Yeah. I was wrong,” Alli said. “I got confused, and the Stonekeeper figured it out. It’s actually a type of yak.”
She hated to do it. She hated the betrayed looks on her friends’ faces. But at that moment, she felt the Stonekeeper was right. The secret had to be kept safe.
“A yak?” Cody asked in disbelief.
“Alli found a rare type of breed that even I didn’t know about,” the Stonekeeper piped in.
“No...” Cody started, but his father stopped him by holding him back with his elbow.
“A red-coated pygmy hairless yak.”
“You know this is not a yak!” Cody argued.
“As you can see, its existence is confirmed...in stone!”
The Stonekeeper pulled out a stone with a person, a red smear covering it, and placed in his robes, alongside the other stones.
The villagers gasped.
“What is happening?” Sam whispered.
“The stones have protected us for generations,” the leader continued. “But we’ve been ignoring them. No one’s been feeding the great mountain mammoths today.”
The crowd gasped in horror.
“He’s right,” one Yeti said.
“And because of that, we are sinking,” the Stonekeeper declared.
“I don’t wanna sink!” Garry yelled in panic.
“Garry... you are right to be afraid! Everyone listen to Garry!”
“I don’t wanna sink in the nothing!” Garry cried.
Josh, Sam, and Matt pushed their way through the crowd to the front.
“These are lies, Alli!” Josh argued. “We saw you go below the clouds!”
“I didn’t,” Alli lied. “I fell into the clouds, and I found her inside of a cave.”
“What?” Cody yelled. He looked at his father in astonishment.
The villagers gasped in confusion.
“Don’t listen to her!” Josh shouted. “This is all part of a massive cover-up!”
“Please, just...” Alli started.
“We are all part of a big machine.”
“Dude, no. Come on, stop!”
“I think it might be a big machine that’s down here!”
“You need to stop!”
“It does sound like a big machine!” Garry cried.
“I thought so, too!” Lily’s mother yelled as she held Lily.
“You heard me!” Josh continued.
“JUST STOP!” Alli yelled at the top of her lungs.
The crowd stopped murmuring and gasped at her sudden outburst.
“A big machine,” Alli laughed, the comfort and guilt growing within her. “Right. Let’s all to Josh and his whacked-out theories, because we all know that Josh just straight up crazy.”
Josh gasped in shock.
“What?” Matt asked.
“Don’t call him crazy,” Sam yelled at her.
“Come on, are we really gonna listen to those guys?” Alli continued. “They’re the village weirdos, right? We all know that. They’re just trying to prove all the stones wrong. But if we don’t follow the stones, really bad things can happen.”
Everyone gasped at the mention of the stones.
Alli knew that the villagers might think Josh, Sam and Matt were weird, but they loved and respected Cody. She had to make sure they didn't believe him-for their own good. For Cody’s own good. The mental image of the humans and their weapons had spurred her on.
“Well said, Alli,” the Stonekeeper said, smiling. “That’s the truth.”
“The truth?” Josh asked, narrowing his eyes as he came face to face with Alli. “I don’t think anybody around here cares what that is.”
Josh walked through the crowd, Sam and Matt following behind him after they glanced at Alli in anger and heartbreak.
“Guys, wait...” Cody sighed and went after them.
“Alli, give her to me,” the Stonekeeper said to Alli, gesturing at Brittany who was breathing heavily.
Cody stopped as the three made their way through the village gates.
“Wait, what are you doing?”
He heard Alli ask and he turned to find his father taking Brittany from Alli and placing her in an ice box, which is being held by Nate.
“No, no, no! She needs warmth, and she can’t breath!” he argued with his father.
“Cody...”
“Why are you doing this?”
“This is something we should discuss inside,” the Stonekeeper replied with a serious look, stepping aside for Cody to head into the palace.
“Inside...” Cody murmured. He watched his brother take Brittany in the ice box away through the great hallway. He sighed and nodded.
“Yes, Father.”
“Cody, we need to talk,” Alli said as he walked past her.
“I think you’ve said enough,” Cody glared daggers at her and walked into the palace. She watched him walk away, heartbroken and guilty over what she had done.
“Okay, everyone,” the Stonekeeper announced. “Now everything can go back the way it was. Everyone, back to work. The village won’t run itself.”
Confused and unsure, the crowd nodded obediently at their leader and slowly began to return to their jobs.
“The Smallfoot, what are you going to do with it?” Alli asked the Stonekeeper.
“We’re taking her back to the cave where you found her,” he replied sternly, but she stopped him again.
“But I didn’t find her in a cave,” she protested.
“But you said you did, so they believe you. You’ve done a good thing, Alli.” The Stonekeeper moved past her and walked towards the palace.
Alli was crushed. She turned towards the villagers who were moving back to their jobs, as the large door of ice slowly dropped over the entrance to the palace. She knew that the Smallfoot could not survive in there. Saving the village was one thing, did the Smallfoot have to die?
“Stonekeeper, wait!” She yelled, racing toward the entrance. “No!”
But the ice door dropped in front of her, blocking her way, and she banged on it as if she was hoping it would move on its own.
“You’ve done your job, Alli,” the Stonekeeper said to her as he walked away. “Go home.”
Alli rested her head against the ice door, and she sobbed silently, as the sun disappeared over the horizon.
