Ooh would you ever do some naruto boys dom drop headcanons? I would love to see how our uchiha boys react

(Hmm, if their alpha suffered from dom drop? Let’s see~ I’ve put it under a cut because it’s suggestive in nature, but it’s not explicit.)

Naruto – You would think it would take him a little time to notice, but the whole vibe after sex is wrong, and he can’t quite put his finger on why… Then he realises how sad his alpha seems to be, how they aren’t cuddling him the way they normally do. He doesn’t really know what dom drop is, but he does know that his alpha is sad, so he tries to treat them the way they always treat him. He covers their face in kisses and definitely goes to make them some instant ramen, because everything is worse when you’re hungry! Naruto is a force of nature when it comes to making someone feel better, so he can handle this situation pretty well.

Sasuke – Sasuke is a bit thrown off and not sure what to do. He picks up on the physical tells first; shying away from affection, lingering stares at any bruises or scratches he has etc. Sasuke is not good at comforting people, not at all, but he knows he has to try something. He panics and just decides to lay on top of his alpha so they can’t cringe away and curl up there like a vaguely grumpy cat. He’s letting them know how much he loves and trusts them in his own way.

Shino – He’s read about this. He researched everything he could about sex before he started participating himself. He knows that doms often feel guilty for the way they treat their subs during sex and so he tries to rectify that in the bluntest and most hilariously Shino way possible. “You should not feel guilty. Why? Because… Because I liked what you did and consented to it.” He keeps his words steady but the slight blush on his cheekbones gives him away slightly. He then lays his head on your chest and hopes that he did enough to help clear your mind of negative thoughts.

Shikamaru – He also knows what’s going on and picks up on it in about a second. He does as much aftercare as he is able to, cleaning everything up, fetching food, getting himself and his alpha dressed again and the cuddling in bed together. If he’s also exhausted, the cleaning may have to wait until tomorrow and he would try his best to give aftercare in the form of cuddles and verbal reassurance. Shikamaru does seem to know that right things to say in this situation and he’s very helpful.

Neji – He really has no idea what’s going on, and honestly, he just assumes that something is wrong in his alpha’s daily life, not that his alpha is suffering from guilt or a drop in endorphins. He straight up asks them what’s wrong and if anything happened, and when his alpha just shrugs, Neji gets pretty concerned. He resolves to find out what’s wrong the next day, and in that moment, he pulls the blanket over his alpha and just tell them not to worry because they’ll figure it out together. Neji has always favoured practical solutions over emotional comfort.

Kakashi – Kakashi does pick up on it and he does know what it is. When he first experienced sub drop, his alpha made him feel less embarrassed by talking about how they one day might get dom drop. This worried Kakashi, who then proceeded to do lots of research, just in case. He never wants to be in a position where he isn’t able to help his loved ones. He finds it hard, but he tells them directly how much he loves them, gets them some water, offers to cook them something simple if they’re hungry, or run a bath for them. If nothing works, he steels himself and talks about how much what his alpha does for him sexually helps him and that they shouldn’t feel guilty. It’s a very difficult thing for him to say out loud, but he isn’t going to let his own issues stop him from treating the people he loves the way they deserve, not anymore.

Iruka – Iruka coaxes out what’s wrong slowly but surely. He’s great at getting people to articulate their feelings, it comes with being a good teacher after all, so he figures out the crux of the problem very quickly, understanding that they’re struggling with dom drop. He solves the problem with a good discussion. He sits down his alpha, talks them through how they feel and reassures them, promises that everything will feel better soon etc. Then he bundles them up in his nest with lots of snacks and a film, no matter what time of day it is.

Itachi – Itachi is used to spells of depression and so he assumes that’s what the problem is. He knows that spells of sadness are common and so he just waits it out, making sure that he is there for them. He quietly looks after them, fetching tea, picking out pyjamas, just small things. If the spell of sadness lasts for more than a day, then he gets more concerned, speaking to them in gentle tones about what’s wrong. Itachi is a great listener, so his alpha need only unload their worries and ask for help, and Itachi will do whatever it is they need with no complaint.

Gaara – Gaara does notice that something is wrong but is unsure as to whether his alpha’s low mood means anything. Sometimes people are sad and it’s not a big deal, and Gaara knows he can sometimes overreact, but what if this time it’s serious?? He ponders for a moment before he asks if everything is okay. When he can see that they are not, he takes them to the kitchen to sit while he cooks their favourite food for them, he talks quietly about what he’s doing to fill the space and then when he serves the food, he reassures them that he loves them very much and that he wants to understand what’s wrong. When they tell him it’s just a drop after sex, he feels a lot better that it’s not serious and stays by their side to stop any bad thoughts as best he can.

favorite thing about them: Umino Iruka is literal sunshine in human form, AND YET he's had to Go Through It to get out from behind his emotional clouds.

least favorite thing about them: He's fictional and therefore I can never be friends with him. Also the bit that Boruto and Himawari don't ever call him granpa makes me sad

favorite line: "Don't stay depressed forever." ~from his speech to Naruto after Jiraiya died. Something about him basically saying, feel the hurt, but don't let it consume you forever; idk it always struck a chord with me and I love it.

brOTP: Iruka & Naruto!! Family of choice is the best kind of family and these two are so sweet together

OTP: Iruka/Kakashi - As if there was any other possible answer lol

nOTP: Honestly, pretty much every other pairing with Iruka 😅 I honestly have sailed the KakaIru ship for so long that I can't really see him in any other romantic pairing.

random headcanon: Iruka is actually well-versed in first aid and has even taken classes/courses on medical ninjutsu - it started as him wanting to be prepared for his students after the first time someone took a shuriken to the arm. He's not amazing at it, but he can keep someone alive until formally trained medics arrive!

unpopular opinion: I don't think I have any unpopular/controversial opinions about him; but I do think that in A/B/O verses he's always an omega and I know some people would see that as close-minded but I just don't see him as having an alpha personality

Sannin headcanons and thoughts

The last thing I would like to post for the sannin week. It is still 24.04 here! :D @sannin-central

This is long. Spoiler alert. Mostly Orochimaru, some Tsunade, a little of Jiraiya (because his story is pretty clear and spoken and idk what I can add). Also I recommend to read this meta about Orochimaru, it has influenced me a lot and has some good points. Sorry for any posible grammar mistakes. Also I really should put here a lot of references to the manga or anime but it was something that was piling up for a year and I'm soooooooo lazy. After all, those are just headcanons. Also: Im not excusing Oro's bad stuff here, Im trying to understand the reasons.

Ive already posted some hcs, here, here and here.

1. First if all, the chronology pic of sannin lifetime based on the info i found on naruto wiki and also some statements about wars from this post. It was tough considering what a mess naruto’s chronology is.

2. Sannin story shows what it cost to be a legend. They're like Team 7 but more realistic. Tsunade literally carried the war but left with nothing and developed a ptsd and have problems to just live on. Also anger control issues. I think she can be pretty bossy and stubborn which is not always nice. Jiraiya is the hero of the day but also very idealistic and can ignore some important details in the real word whether its the fight (he always injured during flashbacks maybe because each time he took too much to handle and on the one hand it's heroistic but on the other is a mistake that can lead your team to situations like in that Iwa cave) or your friends issues (I bet he saw what's going on but thought it's fine until Oro actually got red handed and left). He lives in his world and may have problems to get out to see it through someone else's shoes. As for Orochimaru, it seems like he was a normal guy for 20+ years (I mean, he didn't do crazy criminal shit and had something good in him and it was stated somewhere that it was his teammates influence. It is obvious they considered him as a friend, I don't thinks it was for nothing) but we mostly know his darkest side. Despite being a moster he is a human that have empathy and some ordinary human traits (man just decorates every bit of an environment he is in lol).

3. Tsunade was the leader of team Hiruzen.

4. Tsunade sometimes hit Jiraiya for some stupid things he did or said but never touches Orochimaru even if he did something same. Jiraiya complained about it once and almost got another hit.

5. Jiraiya had problematic parents that didn't care about him much and a lot of time he was wandering in the streets.

6. Judging by the look of Oro bangs and hair, he sometimes cut it off. A stress relief huh? And the fact that he doesn't do it now in Boruto..

7. It was shown that Tsunade and Orochimaru was acknowledged before they become a team. Maybe they did just before, or maybe some longer time before. I prefer the second option and hc that they met because both had no real friends - Orochimaru seemed weird and scary for everyone and Tsunade was Senju so everyone wanted to hang out with her but didn't really care. They weren't seen as what they were - people put the labels on them. But they didn't care about each other's labels and actually saw each other in true lights.

8. Tsunade knew it was an accident and it's not right but still she blamed Orochimaru for Nawaki's death for some time. It was something that seriously damaged their friendship and the team. Orochimaru was mad but also guilty, after all, he was responsible at least as a shinobi since Nawaki was under his watch. So he started to act cold and emotionless and was trying to distance himself from his teammates.

9. Jiraiya was in Ame while Dan died.

10. The whole his orphans mission was a bit irresponsible tbh. They already fought Hanzo and as he stated the conflict between Konoha and Ame is going to an end with Konoha's win. It's weird to stay here for three years in the middle of the war while there were other lands to fight. He left his teammates for some idea. Maybe that caused another crack in their team friendship.

11. If Tsunade would have find a way to live on with her trauma and follow the will of fire and stuff it would affect Orochimaru as well just as her grief affected him. It's like he would get an example that you can live on with this pain. So death isn't above human capability and we are not just the slaves of mortality (sounds stupid but i dont know how else to describe sorry). But as we know what he actually saw is that it broke her crucially to the point she couldnt be herself again. And so the death is above everything.

12. Oro wasn’t just acting as a cold pragmatic bitch in that cave but also tried to save Tsunade. Jiraiya knew it and that’s why he showed this sign to him like "I see what youre doing here" and that stunned Oro because he would prefer to look rather like a cold pragmatic bitch hehe

13. Just a thought. People in the village probably treated Oro as a foreigner or just wouldnt accept him because he looked so differently and had a weird attitude. That's why he sometimes didn't feel that Konoha is his home. After the wars where people were treated as means and tools, even the children, he himself developed this view on people - he dehumanized them and used as the means to his goals, just as his village did. Funny thing some people were straightly dehumanizing him too like Ibiki thought that he was a demon (tho he was a child). And he probably weren't the only one. Anyways the point is that it's logical that Orochimaru don't care about anybody but some few people, he's the product of his era. He's like Naruto that would chose the hatred way. But naruto had some good and understanding people around him and.. Orochimaru had them too, but match how Iruka treated Naruto and this Hiruzen's "I sAw tHe mAliCe in This cHiLd fRoM tHe BegGinNinG". And oro didn't even have a big ass evil fox in him. sry i hate hiruzen

ANYWAYS the moral of the story is not "go criminal if they hurt you" but always treat people like people. Waving my hand to Kant.

14. The reason why Orochimaru didn't pick some good morals to stick with through the hard times no matter what (like, idk, Jiraiya or Naruto) is because 1) I think he is/was pretty depending on people around him 2) the war fucked him and his friends up too much (Nawaki incident + Tsunade) 3) twisted addictions (though I don't think he's that sadistic, we never saw him torturing randoms just for fun, it was always some science experimental shit. He tends to get fun out of cruelty only when it's personal) that maybe developed as a way to sublimate anger and sadness caused by his parents loss (that's what they share with sasuke - unlicke naruto, they knew their parents and it's other kind of pain. Sasuke developed a revenge issue and Orochimaru - cruelty pleasure which... is kinda the same but less epic and more occasional lol).

15. Speaking of that, Orochimaru cared for Sasuke because he saw himself in him.

16. Oro hold grudges against Hiruzen for not choosing him to be Hokage not only because he was ambitious and/or egoistic, but also because Hiruzen was some kind of a father figure for him and his approval was important tho i doubt he was aware of that. He also probably could tell that Hiruzen was suspicios about him when he was a child and that led to many conflicts and was hurting as well.

17. Tsunade knew things weren't pretty with Orochimaru after the wars but she never expected them to be this bad. During the week that she was given in her arc she thought not only about how much she wants to see Nawaki and Dan again despite how wrong would it be but also was trying to bury all the good memories she had left of Orochimaru so it would be easier to kill him.

18. She poisoned Jiraiya exactly because she knew he would not let her do it. Jiraiya was always hesitant to kill and inclined to forgiveness, while Tsunade, as mentioned by Orochimaru, could be merciless (so much so that he was not surprised when Kabuto suggested that she wanted to use Jira for Edo Tensei).

19. That was one of her traits that scared Jiraiya and fascinated Orochimaru.

20. Remember how Oro grabbed Jiraiya's neck when the latter was trying to cover with hair jutsu? On the snake, in Tsnade's arc. Orochimaru could have easily kill Jiraiya by pulling the sword out of the mouth (arteries are right there) but he didn't. As well as he could kill Tsunade when she was still shaking - just aim for the neck or the heart. Instead, he just injured her lung and kicked her which is not a big deal for the kind of shinoby like her at all.. Also he helped Anko not accidentally kill herself but it would be way much profitable to let her do it. "Orochimaru has no feelings".

21. The reason he suddenly wanted to kill Tsunade instead of forcing her to heal his arms as it was planned (which is weird since it will not going to get him heals and he kinda said that he wouldn't want to kill her just minutes ago) is that not only she refused to help him (he thought he could work it out) but she also prefered the village over him (from his point of view). Out if everyone she was the closest to being able to understand him since the village caused her painful losses too but nevertheless she agreed to be on it's side.

22. He wasn't fighting her back in the end partly because he thought he deserved that. Somewhere deep inside hahah.

23. Tsunade got a fear to develop deep bonds so they probably weren't very close with Shizune (also the way she knocked her down in this hotel.. oh).

24. Orochimaru will be here when she'll die.

25. Orochimaru's eng dub to Tsunade: "I often wondered what it would be like to ring that pretty neck yours". No comments.

26. Orochimaru is either bi/pan or ace. Anything or nothing lmao

27. Hiruzen knew about at least some of the Oro’s illegal experiments and was okay just as he was okay with the Foundation all the time. Because it’s useful. Then he has discovered he went too far OR he knew everything and oro just became too inconvenient because of his methods. The way Orochimaru tells Sasuke about reasons they are well treated as the criminals is based on in his experience with Hiruzen.

28. As you may know the lyrics in Orochimaru’s music theme goes “don’t talk with the silence of the heart”. It was taken from one Indian song that also had lines like “don’t question life too much”, ”pain arose somewhere in the chest”, “don’t speak to the wounds of the heart”. Though I’m not sure 100% because I was translating it with some hindi dictionary with like zero knowledge of hindi

29. I like to think that this “silence of the heart” theme and the fact that he called his village a hidden sound village are somehow connected. The hidden sound is the possible explanation of all things waiting to be listened to but the truth is silent and you know it deep in your heart and it bothers you. The world is silent just like the life is meaningless but people can only hear. *Sigh* anyways

30. Orochimaru’s journey is the one about accepting death. When he saw Karin released her chains while was trying to get to Sasuke he understood that the death is a part of human’s strength.

Can’t wait to feel that everything I wrote is wrong or not enough or stupid and obvious lol. Anyways, it’s something that I wanted to share until I move to some other fandom.

Hiii!! ❤️ could I get some headcanons about how Kakashi, Yamato, Iruka, and Hashirama would take care of an s/o who is feeling sick? 🥺🥺🥺 please I love you bro!

Word count: 1,094 Pairings: Kakashi Hatake x Reader, Yamato x Reader, Iruka Umino x Reader and Hashirama Senju x Reader Warnings: Fluff, nothing smutty.

When you don’t show up to hang out, he knows something is wrong immediately. He rushes over to make sure you’re okay.

Kakashi sees you in bed and he feels his heart wrench a little. You look so pitiful like this. It hurts him to see you this way.

“Are you okay? Is there anything I can do for you?” He places his hand on your forehead and takes your temperature that way. You are scorching hot.

“I’m sick, Kashi.” You say weakly. It’s obvious that you are, but he doesn’t scold you. Instead, he just brushes some hair from your face.

Kakashi gets up and goes to the store. He buys you medicine, lots of water and healthy juice, and he gets you something to eat like spicy soup to help you become decongested.

When he gets back to your place, he sees that you are even worse. He makes you drink a little water before he gets the shower running.

“Please get in with me,” you ask him, and he decides to do just that. In the cool shower, Kakashi washes you gently and makes sure to put the water warm once in a while to help with your congestion.

After the shower, he brings you out to the living room and bundles you up in a blanket. While your favorite movie is playing, Kakashi makes you take some medicine.

You start to feel a little better, and he makes you some soup while you just focus on the movie.

Kakashi spoon feeds you a little, just to make sure you’re okay. He’s not going to leave your side until you’re healthy again.

Yamato can already tell that you’re not feeling well. You’ve been falling behind in your training and he’s worried.

He comes over to check up on you, but you’re not answering. He’s really panicking now! He needs to make sure you’re okay.

“Hey, are you okay in there?!” Yamato doesn’t know what else to do. He doesn’t want to break down your door.

When you answer the door in your pajamas and you look ill, Yamato can feel himself become sad. He hates to see you in pain like this.

“Oh, sweetie. You’re ill!” Yamato brings you back to your bedroom, but he notices that you’re running a high fever.

He runs you a cool bath and while you’re soaking in the tub, he changes your sheets and opens the window to allow a little fresh air into the room.

After the bath, he dresses you in a nice pair of fresh pajamas and he lays you down in the bed.

“I’m going to make you something good to eat, okay? You need to feel better,” Yamato is reassuring as he presses a gentle kiss to your forehead. You’re already starting to feel a little less warm.

He brings you some soup and he feeds you slowly as you regain your strength. When you’re feeling a little better, he brings you out to the living room and you both cuddle up together.

Yamato makes it a point to check your temperature every hour and when you start to seem like you’re getting better, he just praises you and kisses you.

When you don’t show up for your shift at the academy, Iruka knows something is wrong! He starts asking about you, but nobody really knows anything.

He rushes over to your place after work and he’s just panicking and thinking the worst.

Finally, he finds you in your bed, the covers pulled up to your chin and you’re sweating slightly.

“Oh sweetie, you aren’t feeling well are you?” he asks, stating the obvious. He feels your forehead and notices you are running a fever.

“Do you want me to take care of you?” he asks, and you nod weakly. Your throat hurts and your chest feels heavy with fluid.

“Sit up, and I’ll run you a shower. Then, I’ll go run and grab you some supplies, okay?” Iruka is all over you with praise and love already.

While you’re in the shower, Iruka rushes to the corner store and buys you all kinds of things. He even gets you a cute plushie to cheer you up.

After your shower, Iruka gets you some comfy pajamas to wear and he sets you up in the living room to watch some cartoons. He’s happy to see that the shower cut your fever a little.

He makes you some soup and brings it out to you, sitting with you and making sure you eat every last bite.

Iruka will spend every moment with you until you are better, and if he gets sick doing so, he doesn’t mind at all. You are worth it!

Hashirama hasn’t seen you in a few days. He’s been busy with being Hokage, but now he is very worried. Usually he sees you when you bring him lunch, but he’s spent a few too many all-nighters at his desk lately to notice you at home.

Finally, he gets his brother to take over for some time so he can check up on you. At home, you aren’t in the kitchen. You are in the bedroom, and you are quite ill.

“Oh my love, I didn’t realize you were ill. How could have I been so foolish to pay more attention to my work than to my beloved?” He’s cradling you in his arms and kissing you softly.

“I’m going to make you feel better, I promise.” He brings you into the bath, and he lets you soak in some cool water while he starts on dinner.

After a soak in the tub, he wraps you up in comfy clothes and allows you to sleep on the sofa while he continues to cook you some dinner.

Hashirama is very worried about you, and he’s feeling very guilty about not coming to check up on you sooner.

“Please forgive me, my love. I only want the best for you.” He’s always been like this, but he really is way too worried.

He sits with you and feeds you dinner while you start to feel a little better. The bath definitely helped with your fever.

Hashirama holds you in his arms while he comforts you and just presses gentle kisses to your forehead.

He’s going to vow to stay by your side for as long as you need, but he does need to get back to work eventually. He does make sure to have at least Tobirama check up on you when he doesn’t have the time to do so.

How the guild is doing

If there was a particularly rough beating from the other guild

It hurt, much worse than when you forgot that she wasn’t there

But you carried on, believing that if she could hear you, she’d want to know

She adores that about you, your will to carry on, even though it hurts

And she’s sure to leave nothing but corpses in Twilight Ogre for all the years of torment

When Blue Pegasus found remains of the Island, no one stopped you from boarding the ship

They knew you needed this, more than the rest of them

You needed to know if she was really gone or not

And when you caught sight of scarlet red hair

You wept

She’s here

She’s alive

She turned the moment she heard your voice weekly call for her

To say your first meeting was filled with tears would be an understatement

You were attached by the hip from that point on

Not that either of you were complaining

Erza was especially ecstatic to have you by her side finally

After all, she had 7 years to make up for

And you can show her where Twilight Ogre is

The Master and Mira didn’t question why she was especially rough with a select few members

Mononobe no Futo

Favorite thing about them: She gives it her all and then some.

Least favorite thing about them: Remember that time Futo let Miko gamble with her life? I sure do, I never forget that, ever.

Random headcanon: I like to think she keeps a bag of sweets under her tate eboshi for the kids (or Tojiko)

Unpopular opinion: I always think the pyromaniac memes are a little exaggerated, the only times I’ve played on it was specifically in the context of Incorrect Touhou Quotes.

I also think the “Futo is stupid” sort of thing is a bit misleading? I like a Futo that’s more go with the flow or somewhat like Yuyuko where she pretends she doesn’t know anything because doing so is just easier than admitting she’s more aware than she actually is?

I mean given she grew up in a time of war and constantly had to play a diplomat in a lot of it while manipulating both the Soga and Mononobe clan (for Miko’s benifit)...I just can’t help but think she just needs a break from all of that...

Easily my favorite vocal arrangement of Oomiwa Legend. The refrain always gets me:

Favorite picture of them: Vento’s Futo’s Day piece where Futo is just curled in a futon is top tier. I love her expression and the fact the futon has the iconic pattern that appears on the corner of her outfit.

Soga no Tojiko

Favorite thing about them: She’s 1000% with everyone’s bullshit.

Least favorite thing about them: I never quite understood why she chose a jar to store her soul in and I don’t think anyone ever tried to explore why or if she has any sort of an affinity for clay jars in general....

Favorite line: Plot twist she had more than one line:

“It's finally time to show off my centuries-old grudge!”

Seriously, I think about this Grimoire of Usami line from her a lot. Which is super weird because like, her profiles go out of her way to say that she is coming to terms with being a vengeful spirit.

I think it’s only Symposium of Post-Mysticism that suggests she had a grudge against Futo for killing her and that her status was being downgraded to that of a ghost that can create lightning, but I’m starting to think that:

1. She never had a grudge against Futo at all.

2. Futo didn’t actually kill her.

brOTP: Seiga/Tojiko, I like the idea that Seiga just brings random shit to help Tojiko pass time waiting for Miko and Futo to wake the fuck up.

Yes, I really just copied and past this answer because, of course I would, I want “a rad dish and radish” to be a thing. Though I do find it funny that Tojiko’s profiles consistently, including Symposium of Post-Mysticism, go out of their way to say Tojiko does in fact not hate Futo.

NOTP: Miko/Tojiko, I’m not really a huge fan of works that play up that aspect given it was an arranged marriage. Then again, I’m generally have an uneasy relationship with the concept of marriage in general so that’s probably another huge part of it.

I might also think it’s a bit weird she honors Iruka, who was Tojiko no Iratsume’s nephew who’s shennigans led to Yamashiro, her son she had with Shoutoku Taishi, to die by suicide. But I keep this odd question to myself most of the time.

tl;dr I think there’s still potential for Miko/Tojiko but I think it might be better to remove the historical context behind it. Though, personally, it’s not a ship I’m super invested in.

Random headcanon: Tojiko having a sweet tooth is a very dumb headcanon I just like a lot?

Alternatively I like to think she just swears every other sentence and this is why ZUN never gives her any speaking roles.

Unpopular opinion: I’m always under the impression Tojiko is quite proud to be a vengeful spirit. Part of it is convenience but I’m pretty sure this is like, a thing, high ranking Soga politicians (them later becoming vengeful spirits, I mean).

I’ve recently developed the idea that she’s rather attached to the Soga name as being part of who she is. It sticks out to me her Overdrive card, “Vengeful Spirit Iruka’s Thunder” appeared again in Grimoire of Usami and I think coupled with the fact she’s she then explicitly state she still has a grudge...I think she’s still taking the fall of the Soga clan super hard.

Honestly, I feel like in general a lot of people play up her tender-heart but I welcome more explorations of her as a fearsome warrior and politician more...

Song i associate with them: Ephemeral Unnatural Balence’s Unfired Jar of Awakened Vengeance

I’d like her to get a boss theme that would reflect what fighting her would be like.

Favorite picture of them: Soero has a really funny one where it has Futo, Miko, Okina, and Tojiko in their past lives and Mononobe no Moriya burning Buddhist statues in order to roast some fish and Soga no Umako is whacking him for that. I love the fact Moriya’s tear is exactly the same tear you see in Futo’s defeat sprite from Ten Desires, but what really makes it is that Tojiko is 1 year old in the image and she has the look of being 1000% done.

Even at one year old, she knew she’d be in for a life of some serious bullshit.

What’s even better is that this artist knows this is my favorite image from them.

“HEY! ALL YOU GUYS! WE’RE GONNA ALL BE NINJA, BUT I’M GONNA BE THE BEST NINJA EVER, AN’ I’M GONNA BE HOKAGE! BELIEVE IT!” He cringes into his seat, peering over at the boy. He’s standing in front of all the other kids, hands on his hips. Iruka hadn’t thought a small child could be so loud… which is saying something.

And then Sasuke, little and pointy and dark-haired, shoves his way to the front. “You can’t be the best ninja ever!” he half-shouts back, crossing his arms and frowning. “’tachi-nii is the best ninja ever!”

Naruto blinks, like he hadn’t considered this idea of someone else already being ‘the best’. Then his face sets a little harder. “Then I’m gonna kick his butt once I’m out the ‘cademy, an’ he won’t be the best any more!” he exclaims.

“‘tachi-nii’s busy doin’ important stuff!” Sasuke says with a stomp. “He’s not gonna fight you, he’s a real ninja doin’ real ninja stuff! What’re you even gonna do as Hokage?”

Naruto almost swells up, this time with pride instead of anger. “I’m gonna keep everyone’s precious people safe, no matter what, ‘cause everyone’s precious to someone!”

- 🏅 What is something you recently felt proud of in regard to your writing (finished a fic, actually planned for once, etc).

This isn't a bad question, per se, but I may not be the best person to ask this of xD Most of the time these days, unless I'm writing something incredibly new (i.e. smut or a new fandom), I'm automatically proud of what I've written. Perhaps I'm growing arrogant in my old age, but I fancy myself fairly decent at this writing stuff, and as such I'm known to bang out a few lines and grin wickedly, no matter how simple the lines are.

If pressed, though, I would say I'm proud of how many people I've made cry. That sounds quite cruel apropos nothing, but... a lot of the comments on red strings and lilac skies are about how the end made them cry, and not just because of the sad bits, but because of the happy bits. One person said I made them cry because I wrote an autistic character with love, that I gave them hope for their son's future because of it, and that's... that comment honestly floored me. It took me days to recover.

And -- here I may verge on arrogance again instead of mere pride, but seeing people react so strongly to a single character, to certain scenes and sentences and concepts, makes me eager to be a published author. One of my end goals for my writing has always been "to help people", and I've always said that if I manage to help only one person, it would be worth it. If something that started out as smut and saltiness about tropes can do so much for people, how much more will my books be able to help them?

p.s. in retrospect I'm really proud I finished rs&ls too, I'm bad about not finishing. endings..... the devil.

Ah... I don't know if I have anything like that. I have a bad habit of either scribbling out a note and forgetting it entirely, or stewing over something until I sit down and write 90k words of smutty nonsense about it. (literally how rs&ls got started, I kid you not)

Perhaps the closest thing wouldn't be quite a Work-In-Progress, but... a Was-In-Progress? The first thing I ever finished was the first b book in a 'epic' fantasy series about two women who become friends when they're captured by slavers, and then later escape, and Things Happen. It wasn't good. I feel bad for the people I asked to read it. The plot rambled SO BADLY. There was no plot. IT SUFFERED. After letting it sit for a year, I realized how bad it was, and how weird it would be to start the series at that point. So I basically threw a dart at a board and picked a new point in the larger plot to start at.

I got... I don't know, 170k words in before I realized I was rambling again, and lost, because I didn't know how to get where I was going. So I set the series aside to finish it later and started on WTI. It's intended to truly be an epic fantasy, the sort that sits on the shelf beside Lord of The Rings and A Song of Ice and Fire and deserves its place there, but I didn't have the skill to write it then. I'm not sure I do now, however much I've improved.

Because I am a benevolent answer monster, I'll give you a series synopsis, though.

Manaia was a peaceful woman once. That was before the slavers took her, before her beloved moon goddess bought her, before she fled the temple-palace hand-in-hand with one of the heretical fish-women of the islands... before she found her entire village burnt to the ground and her husband's bones in a shallow grave.

There is no peace for her now. She burns, day and night, nothing left of the woman she once was. Manaia will have justice, and then she intends to have vengeance. She intends to scour every slaver from existence... but Areya, her companion who worships a strange god, constantly holds her back.

Manaia might succeed... but will she be ready for the truth behind the slavers she hates so much?

for melodies: Kakashi walks better in heels than Sakura does. Not that Sakura does it badly, he's just very good at it. It goes hand-in-hand with him being a very good drag queen. Nobody ever asks Sakura to be the one in a dress if Kakashi's there.

for red strings and lilac skies: you've heard this one, Snickie, but it's still an amusement. It didn't fit for me to put it into the last chapter of rs&ls, but...

the Naruto world is early 90s-ish in technology. That means that when Sakura and Kakashi are raising their children, Pokemon and NinjaBoys come out. The twins love it, and then they take to calling Shikamaru "Uncle Shikachu".

He hates it.

Recap #3: The month of the BLOCK/SLUMP/RUT 🤣

It’s the time of the month where I look back and ramble, give some shoutouts, ramble some more... Reflecting is such a big word but I suppose it fits. Or maybe this is more like my journal 📗

Ao3/Fanfiction

Soooo, August has been a bit of a peculiar month for me. I miraculousy managed to post one drabble, at least, but my writer’s block is still very present and fucking with me... My head used to overflow with all kinds of smutty ideas and now it is close to blank apart from this one idea (which is a Kaka/Iru/Yama doing the naughty in Iruka’s headmaster’s office with Kakashi and Yamato in Anbu gear - not a word written though, just lives in my head).

So instead I have been indulging in reading fanfiction and it has been wonderful! I am in love with @pinkcatharsis Ever after Tenzou/Iruka, @vulcan-highblood Will You Stay The Night (or will you stay forever)?, A Match Made in... and You Feel Like Home (and i don't know why) - all three are Kakashi/Iruka, as well as @cyhyr Branding Kakashi/Iruka. I didn’t know Ao3 History kept track of how many times I’ve accessed a fic and it looks like I have stalked you cause all of these have about 30 visits each from me. What can I say, I reread XD Anyhow, thank you so so much for sharing your wonderful work~~~ 🍠 🐬 🍆

I’ve also been reading @ao3commentoftheday blog whenever they post and I am rethinking and relearning so much about fandom still. I’d like to think I am opened minded and supportive, but I realized that I am very much influenced by the performance and production oriented society that I live in - especially from my work place... It’s all very well summarized in @mysticmilks post. I think the analogy is spot on 🍪🍪🍪 I know I’ll never get it 100% right all the time myself either, I am just committed to trying and doing what I can.

And another completely random realization I’ve had is that I am going to switch my multi-chapter drabble fic into a series where the drabbles are stand alone. When I started writing just three months ago I felt very insecure about my low word counts and felt as if it would be misleading to treat each drabble as a single piece of work. Now, I would never think like this about another author so I realized I was giving myself a hard time.

Micro fiction, flash fiction, drabbles are just as much fanfiction as anything else. From a practical stand point too, I realized that the tags would make more sense if the drabbles are separated. Most drabbles are Explicit but some are Teen and Up, again, most are smutty but a few fluffy too - now everything is just blanket explicit and smutty which doesn’t really tell the whole story.

Tumblr/Fanart

For I while there I could still draw but sadly for my block spread and took that away from me too... ... ... It got so bad that at a point in August I would feel dead inside when I looked at a canvas ☠️ I decided to take a step back from creating all together.

So I have just gone crazy on the like and reblog train! You all put so much wonderful content out there be it fics or fanart, headcanons, meta discussions or just your personal thoughts on random stuff, and memes - never forget the memes.

Also I am low key happy panicking over the surge of followers. Like THANK YOU but also all I do is reblog at the moment so even more THANK YOU. I wanted to draw something naughty to celebrate my 69th follower and maybe I still will, just very much after the fact 😅 Currently closing in on a 100 and I am just flabbergasted.

In August I was thinking that this would be my last monthly recap and I would switch to quarterly ones after this, but now that I am writing it, I am enjoying it, so we’ll just have to see, I’ll leave my options open for October~~~

Events

This is where I feel a tad bit sad again. I have a wonderful maze for the KakaIru Maze Challenge and I have WIPs for all my prompts but I am not making any progress due to my block. I am still hoping for this block to just GO AWAY and that I will complete the challenge now that the deadline has been extended, but I also know that I need to be kind to myself and not force anything.

favorite thing about them It’s so hard to pick, but I think his resilience. Kakashi has genuinely been through hell and back and yet he keeps going. His character development in Naruto is one of my absolute favorite things, the way he starts out as this seemingly apathetic but deep down very guarded character who ultimately grows to love his students and make peace with his past and finally find some happiness. He’s the man who lost everything and still keeps going and maybe it’s just because I, too, am a depressed bitch but that’s always bee super comforting to me and felt very reassuring. Like if Kakashi can hit rock bottom but pull himself up out of that pit and find happiness and success, then so can I.

least favorite thing about them I don’t even know if I have a least favorite thing about him. I honestly love everything about him. I guess the closest thing I can get to a least favorite thing would be that I wish we saw more of him goofing off and having tons of fun like when he and Guy raced in Shippuden. Hearing Kakashi laugh and joke around was just so good for my soul.

brOTP Hands down Guy. I mean, I ship them, too, but I just really love their friendship especially. Guy just really brings out the best in him and provides this really nice foil to Kakashi’s personality. I genuinely think Kakashi would’ve been done for if not for Guy’s loyalty and optimism. Their friendship is so fun and the two of them together never fail to make me smile.

OTP Does my KakashixOC ship count? Because if it does, then that’s my OTP. I have spent way too much time and energy on their relationship for it to not be. That probably sounds super cliche and maybe a little Mary-Sue-ish but I don’t even care, Rei and Kakashi are my magnus opum and I love them. I’m also just really, really proud of the way I’ve written their relationship. So much of their bond is informed by my own relationship with my fiance, and I think my own experiences have really evolved my understanding of what real intimacy in a romantic relationship looks like. It’s not so much about flowers and chocolates and date nights as it is about caring for and comforting the person you love, spending quality time with them, making them laugh and smile, being 110% yourself around them, and providing for them in their times of need. I have never written a relationship so real and specifically raw before, and there’s a lot of intricacies that I’ve worked in as well, that just overall make me incredibly proud of the progress I’ve made on their story, and proud of the story I’ve been creating for them in general. But if an OC ship doesn’t count for OTP, I really like Kakashi with Shizune, Guy, Yamato/Tenzo, and Iruka.

nOTP Oh god I have quite a few. I really don’t enjoy focusing on negatives nor do I want to start ship wars so I’ll keep these explanations brief. I can’t stand Kakashi and Sakura, the mere thought of it makes me *this close* to puking. I take big issue with ships in general between characters that met when one of them was a child and the other an adult, though. It just comes off incredibly pedophilic to me and makes me nauseous. The other big ship I take issue with is Kakashi and Rin but that’s more of a personal issue because their relationship, and Rin’s character in general, hit way too close to home (in a very warped and psychotically symbolic way) to some really traumatic stuff I dealt with in the past that took me years and lots of therapy to deal with, and it still trips me up to this day. It’s not anything that anyone in fandom has done or anyone who ships Kakashi and Rin with each other, it’s just a matter of me noticing parallels between the ship and my own trauma that make it incedibly hard for to tolerate content of it. Just to tack these on, as well, but I also really dislike him with Hanare from the filler episode and with Kahyo from the book Lightning in the Icy Sky. The romance with Hanare just felt really disingenuous to me like I can tolerate it, but it’s not my favorite. And as for Kahyo, I blame bad writing. The fact that the book was referring to her as “the woman who has Kakashi’s heart” literally within like two pages of them meeting really pissed me off. I couldn’t even finish the book so I can’t even speak on the rest of the relationship but I just got so turned off by the entire story in general because the romance was so unbelievable and abrupt. I feel like anyone who has read my fic, though, likely has picked up on my opinions on these, though. Not that I’m writing ship hate or anything because I’m not, but there have been little plot points here and there that have kind of touched on my feelings on these ships.

random headcanon I have way too many but here’s one of them, I guess, though this is more a musing than a headcanon. I think, when the war is over and Kakashi can finally catch his breath, he goes through a bit of an identity crisis as he comes to terms with the fact that he no longer has his sharingan. After all, he had Obito’s eye for almost twenty years. Learning to function without it is going to be incredibly difficult but not only that, so much of his identity was founded on his secondhand sharingan. Who even is he without it? Does he even recognize himself anymore? And how can he ever live up to the reputation he’s garnered over so many years now that the source of all of his power is gone for good? Yes, he was a prodigy before the sharingan and he is still capable without it, but it’s going to be a big change and take a huge toll on him and his perception of himself.

unpopular opinion I’m glad Kakashi has never been given an explicitly canon love interest. Honestly, I don’t want him to have one. As much as he deserves to find love and start a family with someone, from a fandom perspective I much prefer him being open and available. It creates a much more flexible interpretation of him and his love life so that we, the fans, can write him however we damn well please and I think that’s pretty fantastic. I think it’s safe to say that Kakashi is one of if not the most heavily shipped character in the fandom and everyone has very strong opinions on who he belongs with and even how he idenifies from a sexuality perspective. I can only imagine the uproar that would come from finally giving him a canon love interest because you absolutely cannot please everyone. In a way, I feel like Kakashi is just a character who belongs to all of us. He is something different for every single person in fandom whether that’s someone to look up to and seek guidance from, someone to protect and root for, someone to relate to and find comfort in, someone to love and/or lust after. Or in my case a precious emotional support ninja husbando. I don’t know if he would’ve had quite the same effect on fandom if he had been canonically shipped with someone from the get-go, but I’m grateful that he never was and I hope he never will be so he can continue playing the role in fandom that he has been for so many years. That probably sounds selfish, though, but I just really want him to remain a character that belongs to all of us and is not inhibited by canon in terms of who he loves and how he identifies.

Headcanon A: realistic

Shikamaru gets anxious at night on missions. He’s always looking at the moon, at the light of the campfire. If it’s a new moon, he’s antsy the entire time. Sure, he’s a great strategist and could figure something out. But there’s something terrifying to him about not being able to use his shadows.

Headcanon B: while it may not be realistic it is hilarious

Shikamaru has the worst sense of humor. He laughs at the stupidest things, puns, dad jokes. And he has one of those contagious laughs, where you just hear him laugh and you can’t help but laugh with him.

You could tell him this super intelligent joke, a long joke with a riddle, and he’ll offer a smile. But no, Sakura tells him a pun and he loses his shit.

Headcanon C: heart-crushing and awful, but fun to inflict on friends

Shikamaru is clearly depressed and no one ever talks about it. Like mental illness doesn’t matter in Naruto world, yeah I get it, whatever. But like! He is pointedly incredibly intelligent and just doesn’t ever have the drive for anything until he’s older - which is about things that he has to do, just daily life in shinobi land. He has clear markers for a depressed child and it makes me so sad. He was labelled as lazy, he slept in class, he didn’t see the point in even picking up his pen to take an exam even when he knew all the answers. And Asuma knew he was smart, his father knew he was smart. Iruka probably knew also, but no one ever cared further than calling him lazy. Like I could go on for hours about mentally ill children getting labelled as “lazy” - any age really - and expected to act just as the other children do.

Everything is a drag to him, all he has the energy for is to lay around and watch clouds. And yes, he gets up, he becomes a chunin, he shows effort in doing missions and living his life. But that doesn’t mean he’s not depressed.

To me, Shikamaru has high-functioning depression by his teens.

Headcanon D: unrealistic, but I will disregard canon about it because I reject canon reality and substitute my own.

Shikamaru goes to the Yamanaka shop to help out a lot. He’ll make some random comment about having not seen Ino in a while but she knows the truth. Shikamaru loves working with the flowers, he likes planting them and watching them grow, tending to the gardens. He finds it so calming, something about it that just makes him feel good.

Ino never tells anyone about it nor how she likes to make flower crowns and drop them on his head when he’s working at the shop. Even in their twenties.

Sakura

Headcanon A: realistic

While Sakura has a confident air to her and doesn’t back down from her fears, she is still incredibly anxious about marrying into a clan because she has no idea how they work. She’s worried she’ll do something wrong. That fear of being accepted so much larger with how many people there are.

Headcanon B: while it may not be realistic it is hilarious

Ino bought Sakura a radio for her birthday and Sakura turns it on while she cooks. She’s developed a love for cheesy pop songs and sings them without shame. She’s always off key and her hips don’t move to the rhythm as she dances in the kitchen.

She likes to point at Shikamaru when love ballads come on and sing to him until his smile is wide and he’s shaking his head in amusement.

Headcanon C: heart-crushing and awful, but fun to inflict on friends

Sakura will always be resentful of being born into a civilian family if only because her chakra pool isn’t very large. She has amazing chakra control and it more than makes up for it. But she can’t help but envy someone like Naruto or even Sasuke.

She thinks about it, bitterness on her teeth, as she uses up almost all of her chakra to heal her dying team. Two out of the three make it and Sakura is looking helplessly at her fallen teammate, still wishing she was stronger, that she was enough. Two of her ribs are fractured but Sakura can’t heal herself until her team’s okay. Tsunade is screaming at her inside her head that if she dies then she failed her team as a medic anyway. But it’s too much guilt for her, too selfish, and Sakura makes it a bad habit.

Headcanon D: unrealistic, but I will disregard canon about it because I reject canon reality and substitute my own.

Sakura has a bit of a power kink. She loves moving up the ladder in the hospital. She loves getting promoted to jounin. She loves it when she’s captain of a squad. People looking up to her, following whatever she says. That trust and faith. After so many times of being pushed back with someone jumping in front of her, Sakura loves being in charge. Of being someone to count on.

Shikasaku

Headcanon A: realistic

They’re that couple. It seems like they can get anything they want when they’re together. Both of them are frustrating to argue with separably, but together, you might as well give up the fight. They’re too quick on their feet, manipulating their friends into agreeing to whatever they want with a few choice words and a smile.

Headcanon B: while it may not be realistic it is hilarious

Shikamaru sleeptalks and Sakura is amused when she finds out. At first, he just says random words, sentences that don’t really make any sense. But some nights, she catches him just mumbling about how much he loves her.

Other nights, stupid confessions fall from his lips to land on the sheets between them - about how he made up a headache so they didn’t have to go to that clan dinner, how he hated the pattern she picked out for their dishes.

Sakura still finds it adorable, though, and finds it hard to be mad.

Sometimes.

Headcanon C: heart-crushing and awful, but fun to inflict on friends

Sakura has to be the one get their relationship off the ground. Shikamaru has more insecurities than he lets on and doesn’t think they’ll make it. He likes her for a long time before Sakura catches feelings. He can’t see why she’d ever want to be with him, having stood beside Naruto and Sasuke all her life. He’s not all powerful, he doesn’t share important memories with her, he doesn’t have a lot of energy. He thinks he doesn’t have anything to offer. He doesn’t want to be a substitute either, inevitably waiting for her to leave him. So, he just doesn’t do anything about it. Sakura hints that she likes him and when he doesn’t do anything, she hints harder, until she’d demanding they go out on a date. He still thinks it’s a bad idea but can’t say no. They go out on more dates and it takes Sakura months to convince him that she wants to be with him. Then, it takes even more months for Shikamaru to stop waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Headcanon D: unrealistic, but I will disregard canon about it because I reject canon reality and substitute my own.

Sakura doesn’t want kids and Shikamaru lets go of the daydream, he hadn’t felt too strongly about it anyway. They don’t tell anyone about it, though, and get married. Years pass and the Nara clan elders start getting more impatient about it, waiting for a clan heir. Sakura snaps in a meeting and tells them there will be no heir coming from her. It tenses the relationships she’d built with the elders but she can’t regret it, not going to be forced to have children she doesn’t want. Not wanting to do that to a child. Shikamaru defends her until his tongue runs dry, showing the most emotion he ever has in those later clan meetings. Yoshino backs them up and is the one to offer the idea that Shikamaru can pick the next clan head from another Nara family.

Sakura’s stubbornness and fuck you I’ll do what I want attitude has rubbed off on him and Shikamaru goes and gets a vasectomy so it can be a mute point.

The clan elders have pulled their hair out by then and agree to let Shikamaru pick the next clan head.

Iruka shows an interest in you pretty quickly after first meeting you and though he is likely to develop romantic feelings for you really quickly he really won’t say anything or confess his feelings in a hurry because he will be afraid of you rejecting him. Because of this he will try to develop a good friendship with you instead at first, taking his time getting to know you and getting comfortable with each other as friends before he will even consider asking you out.

When he does go to ask you out it will be when the two of you have known each other for a pretty long amount of time, such as a few months or even close to or over a year. He will make sure to get you somewhere the two of you can be alone because if you do reject him, he will not want to be in a public or busy area. He will be very noticeably nervous and flustered practically all day, he really struggles to get the words out to actually ask you out but immediately relieved when you agree to go out with him.

From the start of the relationship he is very loyal, open and honest with you though he doesn’t expect you to be and is very understanding if it’ll take you some time to really open up and talk with him about anything. Which you can be very insecure and don’t talk much and open up slowly but the fact that the two of you were friends first before a romantic relationship may help to some degree to make you feel more comfortable with him.

But even still you do not like to show your emotions and even though you care deeply for your loved ones you can have a difficult time showing it, but Iruka is understanding about all of this and always very patient and supportive, he’ll never judge you or make you feel bad for how you are.

Kakashi

•Anyone who’s been with Kakashi for three years is practically his soulmate lol. Commitment is difficult for him because of his traumatic past. It takes a lot for a s/o to gain his trust, takes a lot for him to settle with a relationship, takes a lot for him to really want to be with this person. He’s basically putting himself out there in vulnerability and he hates that. But if he really cares about this person, he’ll let go of his reservations

•So to suddenly end the relationship?… What were those three years for?

•He’s not entirely angry, but definitely in a state of shock that boosts his frustration. He wants an explanation. A good one, too. Even if it’s something as simple as his s/o saying “I’m just not in love with you anymore” that’s going to hurt BAD but it’s better than a lie, or no explanation at all. He wants the truth and nothing but. Kakashi’s probably not thinking clearly and rationally during the interaction, but he knows one thing for sure: he can’t come out of this break up without resolve. So he has to know what went wrong before he can accept that it’s over, so he can work on getting over it instead of sitting in uncertainty (getting over it too quickly is his biggest problem. His initial instinct is to hold back emotion as a shinobi, and to let that emotion go)

•He’s not going to hate his s/o for the rest of his life or anything, but he’s certainly going to need time before he can grasp a “let’s stay friends” concept, if that’s even what his s/o wants. It’s not easy for him. He understands that it was their decision to end things and he has to respect it, but that doesn’t mean he has to put himself through hell by seeing them every day and pretending like the break up doesn’t hurt him. It really just takes time. He’ll be amicable with them eventually, just not immediately

•At the very end of it all, he might look upon it in a developmental way, just for the optimism. Those three years taught him things about himself and about a relationship that he’ll carry on into the next one

•But then that’s the thing. Kakashi will be afraid to get into a relationship again. Logically, he knows not every person is going to break his heart after three long years like this s/o did. But it feels that way. He put so much effort and feeling into this relationship and his s/o broke it off? How can he trust someone else won’t do that again? How can he go through it? •What hits Iruka the most is that he probably had this idea in his head that his s/o was the one. Even if they were having some troubles, yeah, that sucks, but he’s good at solving issues and listening. So he didn’t think that would ever be an issue. •And if his s/o can’t give him any issues that are fixable, or, any actual problems that need fixing, he goes on to the next way of solving it: In his mind, his poor, immediate-denial mind, he wants to see if there’s a way they can just settle for a break. A few weeks, a few months. Time for them to sort out the problem, whatever it takes so they don’t have to just end it

•If they refuse, he won’t press the matter, though he wants to. He won’t pressure them during such a tense time when clearly there’s problem enough in the relationship/themselves for them to want to end it. He may not know what it is, or if they do have a reason, may not know how to fix it. But he’s not going to keep pushing them just because he’s heartbroken. He would consider that selfish

•Despite his conviction to accept the break up for the betterment of his s/o and himself, he unfortunately falls into a short depression. He just wishes there was something he could do, or could have done. Even if he knows it wasn’t his fault at all, maybe it was even something his s/o needed to do for themselves, Iruka still blames himself a long time after the break up

Yamato

•He’s definitely thrown for a loop. Getting into a relationship in the first place was a wild ride for him, since he doesn’t have much experience with romance

•So to see it end after he was so comfortable and trusting, it really rattles him, makes him rethink everything about relationships and intimacy and even love

•There’s no resentment in him for his s/o. There may not even be resentment for himself. Unless his s/o gives the reason for the break up as being something that’s completely 100% his fault and he’s culpable to an unforgivable degree. Otherwise, Yamato tries not to wallow in self-deprecation, even if he is a little confused and down for a while

•His first instinct is to just get over it. It happened. It sucked. He’s emotionally drained. But what can he do? He won’t grovel at his s/o’s feet to take him back. And the idea of sitting in bed and grieving about the whole thing for weeks on end just isn’t him. He tries to take it like a true shinobi: ignore emotion, move on. Which of course has repercussions in pent up angst, but Yamato figures he’ll deal with that later

•Despite how quickly he wants to get over it, jumping into a friendship or even a distant cordial relationship with his ex s/o just isn’t something he can do. Maybe ever. Too many feelings coincided with their relationship and the breakup for him to be able to just dissociate his ex with those feelings, so he can’t easily be amicable. Yamato doesn’t really work like that
