no but when mhok told day to think of his plate as a clock and told him where on the clock the food was that really reminded me of one of my favorite movies from when i was in middle school which is also about blind people and where the title of the movie itself is a reference to thinking of the plate as a clock: it's called "erbsen auf halb 6" which literally translates to "peas at half past 5" (yes, "halb 6" means "half past 5", yes the numbers are different, don't worry about it)

the plot of the movie is a theater director losing his eyesight in a car accident and him being a director who kinda needs to see what's going on on stage he really doesn't take his sudden loss of vision very well. he gets assigned a helper/mentor, a lady who is blind herself and who's been blind since birth and is supposed to help him adapt to a life with disability. he ultimately runs away from her when he learns that his mother is sick to go find his mother in russia and say goodbye before she dies. his helper/mentor chases after him and they end up on a travel adventure together

it's been over a decade since i last saw the movie but i think at some point they eat and they talk about how the peas sit on the plate where it would be half past 5 on a clock?? anyway, that moment with mhok and day at the restaurant where mhok tells him the position of day's food with the help of an analog clock really reminded me of that movie

edit: i went to look for the trailer of that movie and i found the scene in question!! turns out they're at a restaurant and the helper/mentor character goes "if you imagine the plate as a clock... what numbers is the food lying on?" and the waitress is all confused going "i'm sorry?"

Just finished my first playthrough of BG3. Romanced Lae'zel, but ending up turning into an Illithid because the idea of making Orpheus or Karlach do it didn't sit well with me (or my character).

I told Lae'zel to leave with Orpheus in the end (I heard she wouldn't stay with a ghaik anyway, which she's valid for, but also, it doesn't feel right to ask her to stay when I know how much her people mean to her). And like-

The fact that I went into that first conversation with Gortash completely blind and he somehow managed to be the one that almost convinced me to side with him is just wild to me. Gwydion had been incredibly resistant to anyone (even his partner) trying to get him to be just a little power-hungry, but then Gortash came along and started talk about unity and stability instead of "we're gonna be evil and rule the world" and it was working on Gwydion.

My only thought during the coronation scene was "damn, he really does know Gwydion"

#don't get me wrong i think gortash wpuld have definitely leaned into the 'let's be evil and rule together as evil overlords' thing if he'd #thought it would work #but the conversation had a definite 'oh yes let's be partners again and work to preserve the city and save it from itself' bent #and the fact that he was so sincere about legitimately wanting to be equals with gwydion again #I dunno #all of that really culminated in Gwydion not knowing what to do for the first time that playthrough #when I say he has a very strong personality I mean it. For the tree poll I had to go with Legend. He already runs full speed into trees with his Pegasus Boots for items or to talk with the tree or just as a convenient way to stop. I don’t see why having wings would change this habit.

I actually hadn't answered my own poll about the trees but your justification for why it would be Legend FULLY convinced me so it's canon now sorry I don't make the rules (I actually do). As for your question about them having hollow bones, I will give the very vague answer of yes, they do have hollow bones so they can like...fly, but at the same time they also probably won't break anything running into trees. They are heroes afterall! They're built different! Most of them at least. Some Links are definitely more...fragile than others. :))))

So yes, while all the Links do have wings and share certain bird characteristics they are also mostly human so I believe that they really only need to be careful about any injuries to their wings. Turns out hauling around a broken wing and/or a wing with severed muscles can be very difficult and dangerous when you're on the road fighting monsters 24/7.
