Thinking about how so much of the fandom (especially in fanfic) treats Sapphire like she's stupid. Literally how did you manage to misinterpret her character so bad. She's literally so smart. Her intelligence was what helped her pass Roxanne's gym test. People constantly underestimate her because she needs help reading and doesn't act stereotypically feminine. Both things that are directly related to her CHILDHOOD TRAUMA

she was mad that she lied, on her dead mother's name at that, mad she took advantage of her attempts at helping and protecting her (cause at this point she still loved her, she just wanted to help, even if it meant Rhaenyra told her she had slept with someone), mad that she made Alicent look like a fool to Viserys for trusting her, mad that Rhaenyra was barely punished and yet her father was taken away for doing his job, mad that from her perspective (cause she literally could not have known the truth and could no longer trust a word out of Rhaenyra's mouth) she slept with not only Daemon but also Criston (which was forced upon him).

yes she was fucking mad, this was just the breaking point for her. this was the moment she realized her friend was gone, that she was alone, Rhaenyra held the power to hurt her (and her kids by suit) to protect herself, that viserys would choose to protect Rhaenyra over all else.

she was mad because her life became even more unlivable and it's her former best friends fault.

Rhaenyra only continued to slight, hurt, and maim her and her family and her resentment grew, justifiably. it wasn't the sex, it's what that whole situation meant into terms of the dynamic of that family.
