ADHD money/budgeting system I'm currently using for my benefit is going well (I've been using it for like half a year now?), and I wanna recommend it.
You Need a Budget is EXCELLENT. 10/10 do recommend. Uhhh rambling about it and my generic disclaimers + gushing extensively under the cut but TL;DR I think it's great for ADHD ppl, I've used it for 6+ months now and I find it super SUPER helpful. also weirdly fun.
DISCLAIMERS:
Budgeting helps you understand/know your money, it can't make money appear where there is none.
Everyone should learn to budget even if you don't have much money (especially then)
This is NOT a magic trick solution. Just like everything else, it is an assistive tool. This is one of those adult things we can't simply opt out of without negative consequences, though.
My advice is based on something I am currently able to do. That is, I can spend an amount of money on this specific thing that works well for me. If you have no extra money to spend then previously I was tracking things in a notebook. So you can still do this.
I believe Dave Ramsey is a fundie fraud/hack and no one should listen to him about money.
DID YOU KNOW THEY CANCELLED MINT???
Okay? OKAY.
Ahem.
You Need a Budget is EXCELLENT.
It is called YNAB for short. The first 34 days are your free trial, and that is my referral link. If anyone uses it and then signs up for a subscription, we both get a month free. Also you can share a subscription with up to six people (account owner can see everything but individuals can pick and choose what they share amongst each other) so like...idk your whole polycule can be on one account. Or your kids. Whatever.
If you are a student, it's free for a year. If you aren't, a subscription is $99 for a year (paid all at once) or $14.99 monthly, which is equivalent to paying Amazon prime. Go cancel Prime and get this instead tbh.
They got a whole article just on ynab and ADHD. They also have like...a big variety of ways to access their info? They have a book, podcast episodes, YouTube videos, blog posts, q&A's, free live workshops you can join (you can request live captioning), emails they can send (if you want) a wiki, and so on. They got workshops on all kinds of topics!!
So whatever ends up working for your brain. It also has a matching app.
If you lost Mint this year they have a gajillion things for moving from Mint.
Also they have a "got five minutes?" Page which has a slider so you can decide how much attention/time you have before going on lol:
Tumblr media
They only have 4 rules of the budget, they're simple and practical, and it doesn't get judgey or like...mean about your spending.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
1. Give every dollar a job 2. Embrace your true expenses 3. Roll with the punches 4. Age your money.
THEN THEY BREAK THESE DOWN INTO SMALL STEPS FOR YOU! They even have a printable! Also these rules are great because there's built in expectations that things WILL HAPPEN and it's NOT all or nothing with a fear of total collapse into failure. Reality and The Plan don't always align, especially if you have ADHD. So it's directing our energy towards the true expenses and not clinging to The Plan!! over reality.
You can automate a lot of shit (you can sync with your bank accounts just like mint, but also automate tagging the categories of regular expenses/transactions). And if for whatever reason you accidentally do something that makes the budget look weird or wrong:
A) you can usually fix it somehow OR b) they have like, a button you can press that gives you a clean slate and archives the previous version of the budget for you.
So if you forget for a few weeks or months, or accidentally input something wildly wrong, or just don't want to look at a really terrible month anymore and feel like you need a fresh start you can usually either fix it or start fresh which is really nice.
The app also (for whatever reason) scratches my itch to have things like...have incentives or little game-like goals in a way mint never did? I don't know why. Filling up the bars or putting money into the categories to cover my expenses is satisfying lmao. You can also make a big wish expense category for all the fun shit you want, and fund it whenever you can and then you can see the little bar go up and that's fun.
Anyways I've been using it for like 6+ months now and I think it's really helped me when I use it.

I've never seen a single episode of anything related to watcher but I am eating up all this drama. Also sorry to y'all going through this
i appreciate that anon 😭 i've seen several good nuanced takes on the situation thankfully. the company definitely did mess up how it introduced the streaming service to people: they said in the video they were going to paywall all existing and new content and then in the comments and in the variety article pretended like that was never their intent. the variety article reveals that they were in fact initially told watcher was going to delete all existing content. the CEO in particular but in general all the founders said that the amount they are charging is affordable - specifically that anyone could afford it - which no they can't obviously. As they are now finding out the hard way. The CEO Steven also made an instagram post insinuating people who wouldn't subscribe just no longer want to watch them, rather than the reality which is that a massive majority of the audience can't afford to. Because he is the CEO, people are blaming the entire thing on him, but it's also important to remember there are actually three founder-owners with decision-making abilities in the company. Shane and Ryan are adults, and the way people are acting like Steven is some kind of dictator, Ryan just went along with it but Shane is the people's anticapitalist hero who was simply outvoted is not a great look. Especially the posts that refuse to acknowledge even the possibility of racial biases here. Mistakes were made, poc are not immune to criticism, but let's consider why so many feel like Shane was forced into this by the evil Steven (and people in the comments have literally called him evil for this) and either lump Ryan in with him or give Ryan no agency in the situation whatsoever. Steven is the most likely to have made the proposal as the closest thing Watcher has to a business-minded founder, but the other two clearly agreed with him. They could have just decided not to be in the video. I also don't see a world where they contractually obligated themselves to every whim of Steven's like some people are suggesting.
Do I think they're a bit sheltered in their LA life? Yeah, probably. I'm pretty sheltered myself - I live a comfortable middle class life in Australia, have a good job and am studying law. I could definitely afford the subscription. But I don't want to atm, or at least until they respond to the situation. Are they the worst most evil capitalists because they want to charge money for the content they create? No, not inherently. People supported them on Patreon because of course creatives should be paid for their labour, and ideally paid well enough to live comfortably. But the combo of bad business decisions (e.g. hiring too many staff too quickly while also wanting to pay them above a living wage, not advertising the patreon, not utilising revenue streams that aren't a streaming service like youtube memberships, spending what Ryan has said is hundreds of thousands of dollars on a single season of a series they have called Ghost Files) and the fact the CEO is pretty open about his comfortable lifestyle (drives a tesla which btw folks isn't a luxury car it's just a more expensive one, has a $300 matcha machine, has a series based on fine dining vs more affordable restaurants), means people are understandably mad because they are struggling financially and the founders (from what we know) are not - but they're trying to tell people that 6 USD is affordable for everyone.
It's a lot less to do with the fact of them charging for content as much as the way they went about it and in particular how it's been phrased to people has come across really insensitive. There's other logistics with the streaming service itself that were not thought out at all for international viewers, but I won't get into that here. And the pretending they were always going to leave their content up and telling viewers not to spread misinformation is scummy to me - at least acknowledge that was a mistake you made and backtracked on. It's just a mess but I really loved their videos and hope they make Youtube's Greatest Apology Video Ever (unironically) and try to undo some of the damage.
edit: someone in the replies made a great point that teslas could actually be considered a luxury car in some countries outside of the US, and I fully agree that 6 USD is 1) too much for what they offer, esp in this economic climate and 2) wayyyyy too much when converted to other currencies. I've seen other Australians say the conversion is too much for them but I know viewers in other countries say it comes out to literally thousands for them - if they can even access the site at all from their country.

Farewell, My Friend💔😭
(PSA: Possible spoiler warnings for The Murder of Me by the Zielo Cave. Only a couple panels, but still...)
So, on Monday night, I was at work, and I checked my phone, mostly out of habit. (I don't recommend doing this, btw, it's a good way to get you written up or worse.) And I saw that I had a YouTube notification on my lock screen. So I open my phone and pull down my drop bar to have a look. And literally saw the absolute worst news.
TMOM is over from The Zielo Cave
Now for those of you that don't know: The Murder of Me, AKA TMOM, is a Sonic the Hedgehog fan comic that first debuted I think 15 or so years ago, give or take, and as much as I would love to claim that I've been a fan since the beginning, I only discovered TMOM about a year or so ago. (I have the worst luck when it comes to finding things; I'm always late to the party 🥺)
When I discovered TMOM I was in a terrible rut. I hadn't posted anything in YEARS, and the writing I had done I kept locked away in notebooks, never to see the light of day. I had no inspiration, no motivation to tell stories. It was a horrible place to be. (-10000/10 recommendation.) Then I was scrolling through Pinterest one day, and I saw a panel of this random comic.
Tumblr media
You could probably imagine my reaction. It's so random. Then more cropped up:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My thoughts went HAYWIRE. "Why is Sonic fighting his mother? Why's he dressed like that? WHY IS HE DROWNING?? WHY ARE KNUX AND TAILS LETTING HIM DROWN??? WHAT IS EVEN HAPPENING???" So I went hunting, and came across The Murder of Me by Gigi-D on DeviantArt.
I was HOOKED. The plot was so well thought out, the characterization was incredibly done, and as you can see, the art itself was BEAUTIFUL. I couldn't get enough. I flat out ignored life and read through 14 issues in one sitting. It took me all day but it was so worth it. AND THEN: I discovered the dubs on YouTube, and found that Gigi-D had decided to put together a creative team to produce the issues of The Murder of Me as episodic dubs, and I fell head over heels. The cast and editing was absolutely phenomenal, and The Murder of Me had my heart, hook, line, and sinker. What was even better was that they turned Issue 15 into an animatic episode.
Episode 15 Part 1: Purpose released on October 30th, 2022, and since then I have been anxiously awaiting the next episode by rewatching the series and all the prequels and bonus episodes I could get my mouse on. I even forced my best friend one night to binge the entire series with me, and she's not nearly as much of a Sonic fan as I am!
TMOM was more than a great watch or story for me. It was inspiration. I had an itch in my fingers that grew from writing a TMOM fanfiction that would stay hidden away into it's own complex project who's rough draft is now in production. (And could very well be released this summer if all goes well.) It was life breathed into my creativity. It was hope. For the first time in a very long time, I wanted to write. To tell a story like Gigi-D and the Zielo Cave.
And then that notification came. It was like a punch in the stomach. I was terrified and without watching it, I reacted and sent it to my best friend, wailing that once again, a story that I loved was being abandoned. That the writers were giving up. I was indignant. Screw that, I was angry and hurt.
Then I watched the video. I listened to Gigi's story, and immediately felt shamed by my own reaction. The Zielo Cave had been saying that Part Two was taking a while because of personal situations, and when Gigi revealed what had happened, that her inspiration was gone and couldn't bring herself to even sketch these characters that she loved so dearly...my heart shattered for her. While I might not really know or understand the pain of her personal situation, I do know what it is to completely lose the passion for your story. For the characters you still love, but can't bring yourself to engage with.
And while my heart of hearts aches, I know Gigi is doing the right thing. No one wants a story that it's writer is dragging their heels to share, can't bring themselves to write. God knows I've tried that, and trust me, it only hurts everyone. The writer, the fans, and the story itself. By ending TMOM here, she's protecting TMOM and its fans, and even though my heart breaks for TMOM's fate and (mostly) for her, I couldn't be more proud of her. The courage and strength it takes to walk away from such a huge part of your life in search of something more, something better?
Not only that, but honor the work and effort her team has given for Part Two and post it anyway, even though it's unfinished? To offer a written conclusion for the series for the fans that want to know what happens? I've never heard of any creator doing that, ever. All that I have seen would NEVER post any unfinished content, or unveil the unwritten plot and ending. And while I'm devastated for what that means, that TMOM is well and truly concluded and Gigi will probably NEVER return, as a fan of this series, I'm so grateful that what happens to these characters won't remain a mystery.
And to repeat what I said in the comment section of the announcement video: I pray a future that is bright and beautiful for you, and you discover what an amazing person you on this journey of healing. You're going to be magnificent because you are already an incredible person, Gigi. I can't express how important TMOM has been for me, how inspiring the story has been when I was down and unable to pursue my own creativity in my writing, and I just want to thank you for the years of dedication, passion, and love you and your team have given us through The Murder of Me. I bless all the paths you walk from this day forward, and all my love and support for you goes with you on your journeys for all the rest of your days.
The Murder of Me is over. I will always be a TMOM fan, and I will always love Gigi-D and the Zielo Cave for giving me inspiration, passion, and hope for my writing again. It's because of TMOM that The Three Sovereigns even made it to development and is now currently being written with the hope of release this summer, and The Three Sovereigns will always be a tribute to The Murder of Me and the hope this story has given me.
Thank you so much, Gigi-D, the Zielo Cave, and The Murder of Me, and fare thee well, my friend.

Round 1, Bracket 1, Side C, Third poll
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dirk Strider and Gamzee Makara [Gamzirk], Homestuck vs Clarke Griffin and Lexa [Clexa], the 100
Story of Gamzirk:
I found it in a fanfic but the only reason why I read it in the first place was the premise of the particular world they decided to create for the ship. They really wouldn't work out if it wasn't for that! Dirk is too self-restrictive to openly tell people what he's thinking or feeling at any given moment. HOWEVER- in this world, there are these shadow-like demon entities that people attach to themselves that are the most similar to themselves and Gamzee is the only one that can hear them without his shadow needing to touch theirs.
This means that while Hal (Dirk's amalgamation of a shadow) is poking fun at Dirk for whatever the guy is thinking and feeling, Gamzee can hear it! Dirk can't escape trying to hide his feelings from Gamzee because Hal just blabs about it, having fun revealing this shit to the guy! It works because Dirk can't just close himself off out of a fear of being too much to handle and Gamzee is just a lovable guy that can see the good in everyone and they NEED each other! I'm absolutely feral over this ship for JUST this world's version of them and the only reason why I ever gave it a chance in the first place was because of the strange shadow-binding thing!
Story of Clexa:
I had been looking for good F/F ships that had lots of fanfic and I came across a youtube video of Clexa that I thought was pretty intriguing. I really like F/F dynamics that are messy and complex, Clexa seemed perfect. I got a VPN and watched the show but, unfortunately, it was full of pretty much everything I hated: graphic violence, miscommunication as a major plot device, and overly stubborn characters that make you want to scream. I am pretty squeamish when it comes to any kind of on-screen violence but because I wanted to be able to read the fanfic so bad I persevered.
It got to the point where I was listening to the show with my eyes closed, feeling physically sick. There were various scenes that I had to skip through because I just couldn't watch them. I dreaded watching the show but made myself do it bit by bit until finally Lexa was introduced as a character. I watched a few episodes with her in, until Clexa's dynamic was set up, then decided I'd had enough and abandoned the show.
Since then, I've read loads of fan fiction about them. My favorite ongoing fanfic ((My) Destruction Within Your Mouth) is about Clexa. I still hate the source material and have never watched it since, but love the ship and find the premise and world-building engaging enough that I don't even really read AUs. I think I'm the ultimate rebuttal to the idea that fan fiction is always a love letter to the source material.

8 Shows to know you
Tagged by @hondakiku
I admittedly don't watch much tv as i used to when i was a kid. I think it's because back in my day you found things to watch based on what was on at the moment. Now you spend tons of time searching and you find something but then you don't have the subscription service and it becomes way too complicated. I remember back in the day when there weren't pause buttons or recording options.
Thanks for reminding me that i still have to finish Internado so i can actually figure out what the hell is going on.
1. Hetalia
Tumblr media
My current hyperfixation
2. Yuri On Ice
Tumblr media
I originally decided to watch this because there was a video somewhere on YouTube where they had the dialogue from an episode of Yuri on ice for a Hetalia scene. This show is just a good time and i didn't expect it to be actually some what motivating to me. (Usually I hate stuff that tries to be motivating) it's so funny cause i remember watching the first episode and going alright this isn't bad then by like episode 6 i was heavily invested.
3. Avatar: The last Airbender
Tumblr media
This is like the back door to discovering anime. The storytelling in the series is fantastic. You know what i always wondered how intense this show would be if it had a higher rating.
4. Supernatural
Tumblr media
I can't deny my spn phase. As much as i hate to admit to it. It was my first major introduction to fandom.
5. The Mandalorian
Tumblr media
I'm also a huge fan of the clone wars series. The atmosphere of the Mandalorian is what draws me to it. Feels almost like a space western. I haven't watched the newest season yet.
6. What We do In the Shadows
Tumblr media
This show is absolutely hilarious. I need to finish it though. I was on the second season then my computer broke and then my sister cancelled the Hulu subscription.
7. Other shows while not individually but still impactful as a whole
Gotta say a lot of what I've learned humor wise comes from the fact that as a kid i watched like every sitcom under the sun. So it was kinda helpful in kind of seeing the roles that are in every comedy and how understanding those roles helps develop your own characters in your own comedic works. You learn what works and what falls flat.
8. Help I need more recommendations this list was hard to make because I rarely watch TV.
I need some shows to watch recommendations?
Tagging: @luderailing @apersonwholikeslotus @magictrio1118 and anyone else who wants to!

How did you end up a marinette stan
I liked her ever since I started the show. But I was more interested in Love Square and when will they get together than I cared for them as individuals - I was a kid, I didn't think the plot of the show would go this far. Then I stopped watching the show, I think I came back in the middle of the third season and that's exactly when Marinette salt rose up but I had no idea about fandom stuff, I still liked her when I was watch the show on TV. Then I got Pinterest and I was interested in ML memes and that's when I got interested in Tumblr too cuz a lot of great Pinterest posts came from Tumblr. So I open Tumblr and I want to find more memes and oh boy I see so many salt takes I'm like "are we talking about the same Marinette or does she have an evil twin?" (That sentence is funny now) And then I see that a lot of these takes don't match the episodes. Sometimes I didn't even watch the ep, I just consumed the fandom stuff and I watch the ep later and I'm like "oh no this is the ep that's gonna make me hate her probably" and I watch it and I'm still like "is this the same Marinette they talked about?" My view on Marinette's character just didn't match theirs. And then I see the same salters share hate YouTube videos and I'm like "YouTube too?!" And I look it up and that was a huge mistake. That's when I got really angry and got defensive of her. Also Reddit angered me even more. What angered me the most is that usually everyone else is represented as her victims and she's this bloodsucker. That was when those "she's a stalker and every other girl is better for Adrien" posts started. And Miracle Queen reception was what crossed the line. The fandom made it look like Marinette killed Chloé and I'm reading all that and I'm sick. So I became defensive of her on Pinterest, I became defensive of her on YT and Pinterest is ok, people are nicer, but I deleted that too recently cuz I started seeing more Marinette salt. But YT collectively has 1 brain cell. I bend over backwards to write ten paragraphs and I get two likes and someone just replies "but Marinette is a stalker" and gets 40 likes. I just couldn't do it. No one can save YouTube and same goes for Reddit. And then Ladynoir conflict... Let's just say it killed my faith in humanity. So I decided to make a Marinette sugar account during Ladynoir conflict, I staned Love Square like I always did, cuz I really don't hate Adrien and usually if you love one you hate the other one in here, but I just don't. I started watching the show for both of them, I became a bigger fan of her, but Love Square is what got me here and I'm not abandoning them. I love Adrien, I have nothing against him.
So it's been rough, Ladynoir conflict was the hardest part for me to defend her, not cuz I didn't have arguments, but cuz she lost too many fans for that. Now she didn't kill Chloé, she killed Adrien, apparently. But luckily the show upgraded itself more and got me more and more and more reasons to defend her and more arguments. At the moment I think it's more embarrassing to hate her and I'm so proud I always believed in this little baby girl. I didn't lose hope for a second. I still find Marinette salters and I block them and I still can't get along with everyone - no one can- but I found a lot of friends, a lot of Marinette stans here who tell me how little Marinette stan blogs there are and they appreciate my effort, and I love it, I love being a Marinette stan cuz there is always something new to stan about her. So if I look back I've always been a Marinette stan, but now I'm loud and proud about it.

I was going to finish up the rest of Aqua's journey in my current post of her, but I ended up working my way through the Final Episode, and I have a lot more to say. So new blog post. God, the Terranort battle was a pain in the ASS; there's a reason I tend to avoid the superboss fights in these games - I just can't handle 'em!
By the time I found out there was a Secret Episode afterward and the lengthy requirement needed to achieve it (defeat 9,999 Unversed? No, thank you!), I just about raised my hands and settled for a Youtube video to get the full context. Same for Blank Points, the obligatory KH Secret Movie. Regardless, let's go over some talking points I have - mostly positive! I thoroughly enjoyed Birth By Sleep, found the Wayfinder Trio's individual stories compelling, and came out crying for these doomed souls to get a happy ending (which I know they will because I've spoiled myself with some of KH3's plot, but hey.)
Tumblr media
It makes the most sense that Aqua lasted the longest out of the Wayfinder Trio. Not to downplay Terra and Ventus' concerns about their ailing friendship (the latter's entire second half is about him trying to find new friends after worrying about his own), but they're also saddled with their own burdens to bear. Aqua's dilemma has always been about her friendship, right down to her rank as Master, which got mixed reception from her friends (Ventus thinks it went to her head while Terra was none too pleased to be spied on under Eraqus' order.)
But because this is HER specific arc, Aqua's the one who managed to, at the least, slap a band-aid to the big, giant boo-boo Xehanort shitted out. Anything else and the literal apocalypse would have happened then and there. And even she could not escape a doomed fate, such is the nature of prequels. Can she get a pat on the back for having to endure a realm of Eternal Darkness for a WHOLE decade with nothing but a keyblade and especially, her inner strength?
BBS really does a great job demonstrating Aqua's talents. It's understandable why she's a Master. And in a way, she ends up being the default protagonist of the game as a whole. I can see why people like her so much; at the time of this game's release, she was desperately needed after a sea of female leads who were... well, less than optimally used (Namine I'm kind of torn about, in that while she is physically passive, she does have a character arc fully told, one I genuinely liked.)
Until I finished the Final Episode, I was disappointed Aqua never learned a lesson about the balance between Light and Dark, but BBS unfortunately, never practiced what they preached. For all that they pontificate of a cosmic balance between the two, it boils down to Xehanort, champion of Dark, being The Evil One. Yeah, we do see specks of it throughout the series (I cite Riku again, who walks the path in-between) and Eraqus' pro-light ended up screwing over WAY more than he wanted, but the latter's fears is also justified. Xehanort's entire scheme boils down to "yeah, but what if?" If he had a sympathetic reason, than we'd see someone who uses Darkness to achieve it because there would be no other way to bring about his dreams. But no, he's just curious and that just doesn't gel with what BBS was trying to tell us. It is strictly and always defined by Light = Good, Dark = Bad.
I suppose if anything, it's consistent with the rest of the games. Mickey can say they don't hate the Darkness all they want, but as long as the game keeps going with this particular binary structure, BBS' core message ends up poorer for it.
At the least, it makes sense why Aqua didn't take in any of the Light/Dark Are Balanced speeches by the end, because she's seen firsthand that Darkness has been nothing but trouble. Why would she believe a balance between the two were remotely possible?
Some other observations...
It's appropriate Aqua is the only one in Lilo and Stitch World to officially (albeit briefly) work under the Galactic Council, she who is most likely to obey authoritative figures and all. However, Aqua does question their intent once she realizes Stitch is capable of love, something the council does not see. It's a small step, but Aqua did come out of it at least questioning her commanding officers instead of the near blind obedience she'd usually possess through and through.
Tumblr media
It's a shame Aqua's gender means she gets moments where people flirt with her, even though she's visibly uncomfortable at one point. I'm aware it's in-character for Phil to be a pervert (and really, accurate to Greek Myth), but my GOD, Aqua was incredibly patient with this guy. I'd have told him to take his little horndog ass outta here. And then Zack hits on her. Like he's actually really sweet as a whole, but she definitely did not want to, yet he keeps relenting until she just...basically puts up with it and says, "I mean, maybe. IF you become a hero." Which we all know is an excuse she had to make to get the fuck out of here and leave this dude. I'm not opposed to flirts and romance (Sora and Kairi's relationship is legitimately cute as fuck to me), but these scene are clearly one-sided and should have stopped after a certain point. Zack, you're a good kid, but read the room.
Okay, so way back in my Terra Talks, I assumed the ten years ago timeline meant ALL the Worlds follow that consistency, Hercules being a junior hero-in-training being the primary example. But the further I played, the more the game contradicted my thoughts. Snow White is the same age here as she was in the first KH game. Same for Aurora who's awaken by her prince by the end of BBS instead of what I thought her suffering eternal sleep all the way to the end of KH1. And none of Mickey's pals have aged lickety-split between BBS and the first KH (though given the unique nature of their... being, who the fuck knows how their biology works?) I think I just have to conclude that each World operates on its own internal logic and time. Which is totally fine, I think that's the best and simplest explanation. If anything, BBS answered a question I had in that I wasn't sure if the Lanes Between was like "space" or "inter-dimensional void that links Worlds." It's the latter, it's totally the latter, as evident when you jump from the Lanes Between TO space in the Lilo and Stitch World. So yeah, I appreciate the clarification.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ahh, I was wondering if they were going to show Sora's connection with Ventus. I'm still not sure how this explains why Roxas looks like him, even if the guy hung around Sora's... metaphysical... inner light (???) instead of just Sora, But A Nobody. Maybe the Nobody decided this dormant blond boy brooding inside this kid was a better pick, fuck if I know. What is this, two souls Sora has hosted now? Ventus, than Kairi? Proooooobably Namine who's essentially Kairi's Nobody, but she existed because Sora held Kairi's heart? Man, I'm giving myself a headache trying to figure this out. *slaps Sora's head* This boy can pack so much souls in him, is all I'm saying. Christ, no wonder Aqua did not burden Sora with the passing of the Keyblade, it's a lot on anyone's plate. Course, she had no way of knowing this kid's going to take EVERY SINGLE BULLSHIT that's happened so far and beat the everliving crap out of it with the biggest and most sincerest smile on his face.
So, was Kairi's grandmother the only living relative she had? And is she dead? Kairi has no desire to return to Radiant Garden and I just assumed it's because she has no real ties to it anymore. Like, it makes sense. She ended up on Destiny Islands when she was four and has spent more time living in that world than her own. Why would she go back? But does she not have family back in Radiant Garden that thinks about her and vice versa? Was it just her grandma? Is grandma dead?
Motherfucking the Land of Departure ends up being Motherfucking Castle Oblivion?!
Oh, Lord, Ansem the Wise is still alive? I still maintain this character is the most useless addition to the entire lore, especially because I prefer the story of a King corrupted by his Heartless experiments and mucking up the multiverse because of it. I mean, too late now, Xehanort is his own thing and Ansem... exists, I guess.
...Wait, Leonard Nimoy voiced Xehanort while Mark Hammill voiced Eraqus. They're meant to be complimentary equals to each other with opposing beliefs. Star Trek vs. Star Wars. Nomura, was this intentional?

Birth By Sleep ruled, I liked it a lot, and it might be one of my favorite in the series. I don't really like prequels because it either boils down to origin stories that never really establishes anything we didn't already know or care to know about the central protagonist, or doomed to inevitability that was already established in the first material that didn't need repeating/expanding.
BBS, however, taps into the greater KH lore that were merely footnotes (literal journal entries, in fact) in previous games. The story of Xehanort and his many incarnations were only vaguely defined other than this guy did some shady shit back in the days.
Elaborating on his true goals by bringing in a slew of new characters that nonetheless are pivotal to the overall series ended up working marvelously for the series as a whole. Because now we have a much greater, crystal clear vision of what this jerk wants to do that genuinely sets the stage for future games.
Like, KHII could have ended Sora's quest then and there. The Big Bad was defeated, his organization is down, and the heroes reunite and returned home safely. But we knew this was gonna be a money-maker for however long they can punch out games for it, hence BBS.
It's not just a prequel, it is legitimately a stepping stone that paves the way to KHIII.
Yeah, I'm starting Dream Drop Distance like right now.

Love all the HB screen caps! Can I ask where you watch the shows, because I can't find some of the shows (like Speed Buggy or Goober) anywhere online :(
Thank you, I'm glad you're enjoying them.
I should preface this by saying that I watch these shows on one of those unofficial streaming sites and do use an ad blocker, so my experience with the site is based on that. But my experience has overall been a good one with it.
The site I use is wcostream.net, you may have seen a variation of it suggested if you've ever looked up "where to watch cartoons free". This site has always been safe-to-use for me, as I've never gotten any obnoxious pop-up ads or had it force me to other sites when I tried to click on anything. It's also the best site I've found content-wise (as the other safe sites I've found tend to have a much smaller collection of shows).
Like, 95% of the shows I've watched on there have the complete series available to watch, including Speed Buggy and Goober and the Ghost Chasers. You can find Speed Buggy here and Goober and the Ghost Chasers here.
The only real issue I've had with it (and this is where the ad blocker comes in) is that there was a chunk of time last year where the site finally noticed I was using an ad blocker and gave me an error message anytime I tried to watch something. However, this issue did resolve itself for me late last year (perhaps my ad blocker updated to better avoid detection, I'm not sure) and I've been using the site ever since with no issue.
There's also a mild bug in the player where if you use the scroll bar to go back in an episode (and only back, this doesn't happen when you go forward) the episode just restarts entirely, so if you want to go back in an episode you need to use the "10 second back" button instead. (I think there's still a possibility that the episode may restart if you push the back button too many times, but I've found it more reliable to use than the scroll bar.)
There are other places I watch shows too, but like I said they have much smaller libraries. Another streaming site that's unofficial but still I've found to be safe to use is topcartoons.tv. (Once again I want to acknowledge that I am using an ad blocker so I cannot say for certain what using this site is like without one, but in my experience this site has been completely safe for me and I've had no issues with it.) I mainly use this site to watch Scooby Doo shows since it has a decent collection of Scooby content on there, but a couple other HB shows are on there as well.
I watch Laff-a-Lympics specifically through this Google Drive folder. (I got this link from a Discord server I'm in, and links to a couple other HB crossover shows have been shared there too if you're interested in seeing those.)
I've also been able to dig up some episodes of a variety of shows on YouTube, mainly from cartoon compilation videos. If you're interested if what I've been able to find over there let me know and I'll share the links I've compiled so far.

thank you friend for replying to my ask 💞
ahh waking up and driving at 2:30 am must suck i feel for you 🥲
ooohh a concert!! which one are you going to? 😍
my sister said the same thing. she said don’t let the sensei ruin japanese when you enjoy it so much. continue it for yourself and not for him. btw, he isn’t an official japanese teacher. he’s just a college professor who has the n2 level japanese and is teaching us the language at his home.
and your resources are very helpful! i’m currently doing some journaling with japatalk and it really does help. same with hellotalk but i quickly run out of things to talk about sadly 😅
for the listening section, i used to do shadowing back in n5 but only stopped when the sensei said we’re good enough to move on but i think i’m going to do that again. i also want to listen while reading and i have a lot of books to do that but i’m gonna be honest i’m quite lazy. i think that’s my thing is that i get lazy and demotivated very quickly and i need to find something to fix that.
my favorite thing about japanese is when i’m watching anime or playing a video game in japanese and they use a word i know and i just scream I KNOW THAT ONE! I KNOW WHAT IT MEANS! and then when i hear a new conjugation of a word i know i quickly write it down and share it with the class (i had to wait an entire year to learn about うごくな because i just loved that word from jjk and when we finally learned it i was like 🤩 this the entire class lol)
thank you for always answering to my asks and for being so supportive, my role model and source of motivation! i’ll definitely continue and keep you updated 🥰
どうもありがとうございます💕
You're welcome! Also, you're being too nice!! 😭 It makes me really happy to hear that and I hope I can keep motivating you!
I'm gonna see my chemical romance live, which still doesn't feel real to me and probably won't until it's actually happening lol, but I am excited either way!
Oh I see. Well, him not being a licensed teacher at least explains why he sucks at teaching. There are so many professional Japanese teachers online that teach for free on YouTube or that you can pay for one-on-one lessons on iTalki (I haven't tried that tho so I can't say what that's like but I've heard a lot of good things about it), so I'd definitely recommend trying out those instead of continuing your current class.
And I totally get what you mean about recognizing words, it always makes me super excited especially because it shows me that I made progress and then it makes all the time and energy I've already dedicated to it super worth it.
Oh and about reading and listening - I always like to recommend Satori Reader. It's a website/app that has lots of stories (only the first 3 episodes or so of each story are free but the premium version is absolutely worth it) and they all come with audio as well (you can also slow down or speed up the audio), plus you can click on every word to get the translation, and lots of grammar notes. You can add all the words to a study deck to review, too. There are lots of stories with different genres so maybe you can find some stories that interest you there. Honestly, I want to say that most of my progress comes from there. It honestly helps a lot.
I also have days where I don't really feel like it, which is why I try to have lots of different things I can do so if I don't feel like doing one thing, there's still something else I can do. And sometimes you really just have to make it your routine and do it even when you don't feel like it (and then feel proud for having done something afterwards).
The best thing you can do is find something you really enjoy and consume that. Again, it's okay if you don't understand everything, you'll still learn a lot. I've read the entirety of Attack on Titan in Japanese and while that was... exhausting, it helped a lot and since I love the story I wanted to keep reading it. Another thing I like doing is watch gameplays in Japanese on YouTube. I like to watch gameplays in general, so when there's a game I've already played myself or already watched a gameplay of in English, I know the story, etc. well enough. Watching a gameplay of it in Japanese is nice because even if you didn't understand a lot, you could still follow the story and just try to pick up as much as possible. And for gameplays people usually turn on the subtitles so you can read while listening. For example, The Last of Us 2 is a really really long game so watching a gameplay of that taught me quite a few words! You could also play the games in Japanese yourself, but it can be difficult to get access to the Japanese version sometimes and if you don't understand a lot you might get stuck or mess up if it's something like a choice-based game, but it can also be a lot of fun!
Basically, it's also about creativity and finding as many ways as possible to interact with the language on a daily basis. There are resources that will teach you more than others, but everything will teach you one or two words or expose you to the language at the very least and slowly but surely you know more and more.
I look forward to your updates✨

hello again, mbb secret santa #2 here!
you are right, i'm very excited for shownu to come back to fully experience the chaos that is monsta x (and love. lots of love. can't wait to see them reunited) and the age order was such a surprise for me too!! was shocked to learn joo is NOT the eldest. actually rap line as maknae line was mind-boggling to me, but now it makes perfect sense.
excellent song choices :') and wonho... what a beautiful, gentle soul... his solo stuff is great, losing you (korean ver.) is one of my absolute faves 🥺
personally i think they're hilarious everywhere, but my favorite moments are shownu breaking an axe and everyone losing their marbles, also the spanish telephone game, and the idol room episode where shownu and wonho were supposed to carry the rest in sleeping bags to their respective sides as they were trying to escape 😭
i am also team no cucumbers, sorry min pls forgive us <3
and finallyyy, i hope you're having a lovely week so far! are you excited for the holidays, how are you spending them? my questions this week are; which 10 songs would you play for someone who's never heard of monsta x? and if you could spend a day with your bias, would you and what would it look like? 🥰
omg right?? the age order is so surprising at first but then later it's like oh of course!! like jooheon and changkyun are sooo mx's babies 🥺
wonho's compositions are sooo good i loved what he made for mx and i love a lot of his solo work too!! my favorite is flash, he really is good at those emotional tracks
those are all such good videos!! i rewatched the spanish telephone game sooo much when it came out, they're really just saying anything 😭 they've done telephone game a few times and it's always so funny! also i was thinking and another one of my favs is from monsta x on vacation when shownu runs away from the camera crew?? it is just so insanely funny like he is 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️
the holidays have been fun!! i traveled home to my parent's home and spent time with family for christmas today 💕
omg such good questions!! for the 10 songs i think i'd probably go with a good variety of some of their more mellow songs and then some of their more fun songs that really hype you up and then just a few more that i feel just deserve to be there!! in no specific order: 1. because of u, 2. gravity, 3. U R, 4. oh my!, 5. fallin', 6. burning up, 7. neol hada, 8. monsta truck, 9. love killa, and 10. middle of the night. i really like all of these songs but i think they're also pretty universally loved among the fandom so they'd probably appeal to many non fans as well!!
a day with minhyuk 🥺🥺 i would love to go thrifting with minhyuk i feel like he would enjoy something like that so much and really be able to find some good hidden gems!! i would also love to do something artsy like taking a pottery class or something, i've always wanted to do that and i think he'd also really like to explore a different form of art. and we can spend the rest of the day being homebodies and chilling and watching youtube together!!
i hope you've been having happy holidays and if you celebrate, merry christmas!

Every time I see you talk about the whole fiction≠reality thing I'm reminded of this shitty anime YouTuber I watched years ago that went on a smug rant about how siscon sucked because "it's obvious the writer doesn't have siblings, siblings would ~never act like this" and it's like??? No shit??? It's fantasy. I'm not here to watch siblings act realistically, I'm here for siscon. That's the point
Exactly! They're basically the people that sit down to watch a movie they KNOW is a musical and complain that the characters randomly started singing because "That's not what happens in real life" NO SHIT, DUMBASS!
Honestly, from what I've seen, antis are the group where you can instantly tell who did or did not have siblings growing up, or at the very least don't get what differentiates a romantic bond from a platonic/familial one, because they think that simply slapping the label "siblings" on any dynamic (regardless of whether the characters are really related or not) automatically turns every interaction between them into a familial one, and that's just not how this works.
By far the best exemple I can think of of a show that was CLEARLY not made for antis since it had A LOT of "incest" bait (the characters were step-siblings, but the show was, allegedly, about them learning to see each other as FAMILY) yet somehow you still find people saying there was nothing even remotely suspicious about the way the main leads acted with their "sibling" was Life With Derek.
The pilot episode literally has Derek solving the classic "Fighting over who gets to use the bathroom first" by nearly pulling his dick out of his pants in front of Casey to make her leave. She dresses up like a video game character she KNOWS he has the hot for, he looks like blood is about come out of his nose when he sees her, and he gets really bothered when the boys at school start hitting on her. She is obsessed with him to the point that, every single episode, she just HAS to know what he is doing, even if it has nothing to do with her, and Paul, the school counselor she talks to every day, repeatedly has to tell her to chill and think of something besides her step-brother, does a spit take when he finally meets Derek (who introduced himself by saying something like "We don't know each other, but you definitively heard of me. I'm Casey's step-brother") and at one point Casey is complaining about having dreams about this guys she totally should not like but can't help having a crush on (and that is a total Derek rip-off) and Paul seems legitimately surprised when she says the boy's name and he realizes she's not talking about Derek.
They supposedly hate each other, but are always doing stuff together and have no concept of personal space. They act like a married couple when baby-sitting their younger siblings. Derek once imagines Casey being forced to act as his secretary, and then episodes later admits he has a secretary kink. He is so bothered by her dating his best friend that he asks her best friend out to "get back at her" (aka make her jealous) and it totally works. In a flashback episode we see how they met, and Derek says Casey didn't want to tell the story to their siblings because of their inappropriate behavior, he intantly started hitting on her the second their parents broke off their engagement, and when Nora and George get back together there's an "indirect proposal" through Casey and Derek. For fuck's sake, he makes out with her cousin, who looks exactly like her, was wearing her clothes, and who we later found out had a habit of stealing the guys Casey liked.
HOW do antis look at all of this and go "This is perfectly normal sibling behavior"? I see no explanation other than "They don't actually know the difference between regular siblings and siblings that want to fuck unless it is explicitly, repeatedly stated in the text, in the clearest way possible, that the two siblings are incestuous. If you told them about any of the non-explicit, but still obviously inappropriate things you've seen characters do in any siscon you liked, and just added a "It was obviously purely platonic" at least half of them would believe you and maybe even scream at anyone who told them "Dude, those two clearly want to fuck"

Omgggggggg my mom is 61 years old and she's been an ARMY since 2018. She's not on social media and she only watches original BTS content (Concerts/Live performances + behinds, Memories, Bon Voyage, Bangtan Bombs/Episodes when I think to direct her to them lol.)
We watched Bon Voyage in Malta together as it aired and she clocked Jikook almost immediately 🤣. She was like "ooooh cute, they're a couple! Glad they found each other, I imagine dating would be a nightmare for them!" After having watched memories 2018- 2020, Rosebowl, and Speak Yourself: The Final in Seoul (even they turn and sing to each other at the end of The Truth Untold) she actually thought they were out to and accepted by ARMY.
She was utterly shocked to learn that their relationship status is somehow controversial within the (online) fandom.
Honestly, so was I! I only began to really engage with ARMY on social media after GCF in Saipan and BV3, because it seemed obvious to me that Jikook were in a relationship and I wanted to find out how long they'd been together. The level of denial and vitriol was really surprising, especially since we were literally in the Love Yourself era.
And Jikook has only gotten louder since 2018!
All that being said, I really don't think the Twitter fandom is a representative sample of ARMYs or their feelings about Jikook. I think social media ARMYs are the most visible/readily accessible, but I'm positive there are millions of ARMYs like my mom and I who don't have or use social media accounts, but have functioning eyes that can clearly see what's happening right in front of us.
For goodness sakes, behind the scenes for Rosebowl Day 2 (memories 2019) was literally all Jikook, basically presented like a love story!
And it's damned obvious that Jimeo and Kookliet are living their happily ever after
Hahahah I'm so happy that you and your mom share close bond and can cry because of busan boys together. And I agree. International fandom/ Twitter side is brainwashed because of the manipulation and the content they first see while starting to stan BTS. Taekook is only this popular on the international side because people here have no clue about Korean skinship culture.
When I first joined bts fandom as a baby army, I was really lucky. Me and my mom are really close so we discovered the boys at the same time. We started watching interviews, og content, funny YouTube compilations etc. Since Jimin has caught my eye even before I became a fan, my whole attention was focused on him at the start. Biasing Jimin means that you can't run from Jungkook. I remember when we were watching tiktok videos and my mom (also jimin biased) said to me once "Look, this is his best friend, they are inseparable" and she was talking about Jungkook. So I payed more attention to him.
He quickly became my second bias, I adored his voice, vocal techniques, his personality and looks. It was really easy to love him. I started to notice things after a while and at first, I thought I was crazy. I've began to see the stolen glances, shy smiles, softness in their voices while talking to each other, driving the same car, always finding a way to be next to each other, small touches, hesitation before the touch which seemed weird because why would they hesitate?
Tumblr media
They aren't like this with the other members, I thought. So I decided to watch bts duos/units YouTube videos. Starting from vmin and ending it with Jikook. I wanted to watch theirs at the end to see if I can reflect on it after seeing other members relationship dynamic. AND OH BOY, that was the moment when I knew something is up with them. I was extremely lucky to avoid that baby army taekooker hole. My mom was also the one to pick up on things herself as I've already said in the previous ask 😂 She noticed it all right away. Then we watched gcf in tokyo. Y'all know what happens after watching it..
I am jikooker since the start and when I joined Twitter later, I was so shocked. When I first heard about taekooker's theories I couldn't believe what I was hearing. So I've watched couple videos of taekook. 2 normal ones with cute moments and 2 analyze videos. And when I tell you that finishing those 2 analyze videos was on my list of the worst experiences in my life, I'm serious. The disrespect, sexualizing and lies thrown me off so much. Big hit hides taekook theory had me in tears from laughter. It sounded like a 10yo bored kid wrote a fic on their way to primary school. Then, I became aware of how much hate Jimin and Jungkook was receiving. Individually and together. Why was that, I was asking myself.
But I know now that international fandom hates on them because they can feel something different is about them. They explain they actions and words as fanservice because it's easier to say they hate each other or aren't fond of each other and play close to either make big hit earn money or hide the real couple, instead of initiating they might have feelings for each other. Because admitting that jikook might not be platonic, means that they can be gay. And it scares them.
I know the hate won't stop soon. That's why I'm here and I will keep on protecting them and loving their bond no matter the circumstances. 💖
Thank you for your story anon, it was really cute and I hope you both will continue on supporting minggukie 🥰

TAE TELLS: JIKOOK
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's taken me days to get round to making this blog post- commenting on another Jikooker's analysis.
Now y'all don't need me to provide a tall list on all the reasons that this a bad bad idea for me. Lol.
Been there. Done that. Doesn't end too well.
Mi nar wan treble wif gudt piipel.
But I also don't want to shy away from the conversation; whether or not Tae is good at keeping Jikook's secret. Whether that is a tell. If it is, does that mean all the times he's 'exposed' Jikook were wrong analysis etc.
Let me start off by saying, I totally admire this content creator. I don't have a particular favorite Video creator- most of my go to YouTube jikook content creators are Spanish speaking content creators, Karmy and a few Iarmy- a lot of whom have disappeared off of the surface of the internet over the years.
These days I watch just about anyone that shows up on my recommendation or home feed. Used to leave comments and what not but I've refrained from that due to privacy issues and prefer to share my thoughts on my blog instead.
Haven't seen a lot of her analysis, but hands down agree with a lot of the analysis she's made in the few I've binge watched so far- thanks to y'all who recommended her to me.
I think for the most part she knows what the fuxk she is doing. She definitely knows what she is talking about in her videos and I like that. I admire that.
I don't disagree with anything I've seen so far on her channel. Especially her thoughts on Kook. Fearless Kook. Absolutely love those.
I think she could have taken time to flesh out her theory on this whole 'Tae is good at keeping Jikook's secret' bit cos it seems that's what causing the stir? I don't know.
'If Tae is good at keeping people's secrets then there is no way he could have exposed Jikook blah blah blah'
Sigh.
Tuktukkers will jump on anything to invalidate Jikook. Sigh. Sigh.
I can't put words in her mouth, but I don't think she was interpreting Jimin's words to mean that Tae is good at keeping others' secrets and so cannot 'expose' Jikook like we been saying in this part of stan land.
And if she did mean it like that then I'm afraid I'd have to humbly disagree.
My understanding of Jimin's assertion that Tae is good at keeping a straight face when it comes to others' secret is that, he meant Tae has a strong poker face and it's hard to tell when he is lying or telling the truth sometimes.
That's all Jimin was saying. In my opinion.
Which honestly, it's truth. Tae is such an actor. A talented one at that. I mean have you been watching Run episodes?! Ayayaya.
I won't play Russian roulette with him cos imma end up with bullets in my head.
Play Texas hold'em with him at your own risk.
I mean he is the king of blank expressions in BTS. Isn't that why RM describes him as 4D?
He's only what, honed that- should we call it skills, since debut! He's become a master at it. Add his impeccable acting skills to it and its kaboom.
His blank expressions to me sometimes seem like a coping mechanism, if you will. And often times, he deliberately induces it to mask his feelings- when someone says something he finds annoying or something he is uncomfortable with.
A typical example is when JK read 'Tae Kook' in the comments during their VLive and he pretended he didn't know what the fuxk JK was talking about- prompting JK to explain to him that that was their ship name yadda yadda. Insert skull head.
Now we all know HE KNOWS TAE KOOK.
I saw a lot of jokers running around teasing Tuktukkers with the whole "look, your bias don't know y'all ship exists bye'
Listen, I'd join in on the joke- nothing makes me happy than jokers pulling some tuktukker legs but just as long as we all know and agree that's not true.
They all know of their ships.
They've known since the beginning.
They know everything.
When he said get out of your imagination I don't think it was because he had no ideas what homegal was going on about on Weverse.
Tae has many tells. When he exchanges awkward looks with RM or Jimin when Jikook or JK does something outrageous that's a tell.
When he passive aggressively smirks after revealing a detail on the whereabouts of Jimin at 1am that's equally a tell.
The slight head tilt when he says Jk don't want Jimin to come that's equally a tell.
He is very observant.
He loves to observe Jikook when they are up in their shenanigans. In my opinion. So when he is quietly looking at Jikook, observing them with no expression on his face that's equally a tell.
JK is not the only one always watching JM.
I mean he was stood right behind Jimin when he and JK were taking turns staring at eachother while Joonie was busy being eloquent. Tae saw all of that but didn't react to it.
In the recent OT7 VLive when Jimin called Jk too big or something Tae was right behind them and as I pointed out in my analysis on that, he looked away almost as soon as JK turned to look at him- JK was conscious of Tae and he knew Tae was looking at them through the viewfinder.
Sometimes he feels compelled to call them out on it too like he did in the dynamite MV when he blurted out, let's not look in the cameras when JK and Jikook were about to do their weird eye fucking absolutely gay stuff that they be doing from time to time.
All these are tells. To me at least. And I think in her video she was simply pointing out yet another tell of Taes- his blank expressions around Jikook in certain moments.
Having a poker face is one thing, having a blank expression is another.
Like I said his poker face is deliberate. He turns that on in various situations ranging from mild to not so serious circumstances like keeping others from finding out he is a mafia in a game etc.
His blank expressions are often times involuntary. His resting face. Sometimes I don't even think he realises he's blanked out.
When he don't know what to do with himself he blanks out. It's similar to how JK intensely focuses on Jimin when he doesn't know what to do with himself on set or when the cameras are rolling.
When he isn't intensely focusing on Jimin he becomes fidgety or sometimes does some really weird expressions that have popularly become various memes under the heading Jungshook.
It's not just Tae. It's not just Jimin. They all have their tells and go to expressions when they don't know what to do with themselves on camera.
Tae has a strong poker face, he is a master of blank expressions, and he is notoriously one of the most passive aggressive members in BTS.
Any of these can be tells depending on the context and situation.
-As long as we are able to distinguish between these moments and expressions I suppose.
His expression when Jikook were narrating the rain fight for example would be a blank expression and not a poker face in my opinion- a poker face is a deliberate state of induced expressionless demeanor.
Yes he had a blank expression. But I don't think that that was deliberate. That's just his go to resting face when he is not active in a moment most times.
I found his comment, 'that was a long time ago' much more telling that he knew about the rain fight and that expression of embarrassment he had on later equally said that he knew and thought Jikook were being gay unprovoked.
But that is my thought process.
I gotta respect hers too. It's valid.
Him going blank dead silence when Jimin said he loved waking up to see JK's face was more of that 'awkward, can't believe JM just did that shook moments' he gets around Jikook from time to time when they do something very shocking and gay.
I'd be lying if I said I understood what she was driving at with that bit in her video but I don't totally disagree with that.
By her stating that, I don't think she implied the opposite of it. Nor did Jimin by his statement.
Tae has a good poker face don't necessarily mean he is good at keeping secrets. I think it is much more nuanced than that.
I mean he is good at keeping your secret until he misses his best friend and soulmate then it's 'JK don't want Jimin to come' 🤺🤺🤺
Sometimes I wish Jimin were a triplet so I can slipt him between Tae, JK and RM. Suga and Hobi don't mind sharing him with the others and it seems Jin only wants his mirror so... Lmho.
And yes, Tae does give Jikook away from time to time- blank face or not.
I hope this helps??
Signed,
GOLDY

I find it endlessly amusing how after 10 years, my OTPs have circled back onto the same type. lol
I realize the Blue Lions have Dedue, and Ashe used to be a commoner. But Ashe got adopted into a higher class. Meanwhile, the Golden Deer has 3 commoners who stay commoners.
And Yukimura probably had commoners serving under him, but Sengoku Basara (2009) takes a lot of time to emphasize that Masamune's commoner associates are named, get screentime, voice his effect on them, and spent time closely serving under him. Meanwhile, Yukimura's only named subordinates seem to also be lords or ninja, more than basic commoners.
When referring to "self-doubt & a phase of failing as a commander", I'm specifally referring to Sengoku Basara (2009) season 2 for Yukimura. That's pretty much most of what he does that season. And he made a critical decision error as a commander that got one of his major subordinates killed and probably also unnecessarily killed some of his other soldiers. Though I am vaguely aware that in one of the videogames, Yukimura similary spent most of the story in self-doubt, after thinking Takeda was dying, and I think he ran his army around doing actions without enough thought.
And of course, with Dimitri, I'm referring to his post-time-skip phase wherein he went full "boar" and refused to properly lead his army. Though after regaining more mental stability and becoming a proper general, he still gets haunted by self-doubts for the rest of his life.
When I spell "Strength" with a capital "S", I'm usually shortening my term "True Strength" and referring to both a mental and emotional fortitude, resilience, and frequently an iron resolve in Compassion. That's just my personal philosophy in defining "True Strength". Personally, I see 2 definitions of "strength" that both converge at Compassion, to define "True Strength". 1) In an amoral sense, strength is resilience in maintaining one's own "soul pattern"/emotions/resolve, without being swayed or influenced by outside forces to change. 2) In terms of defining strength as the ability to do what is most difficult, in my opinion, Compassion is the most difficult. Not only do acts of Compassion often cost a range of efforts from some to exorbitant, but it can also require the enacter to put themselves into a vulnerable position. So it is often something only the strong can afford, or survive, or disregard fears of being vulnerable or taken advantage of. Therefore, in my personal opinion, converging the 2 definitions into an unwavering resolve in Compassion, is my personal definition of "True Strength".
So when I categorize Date Masamune as having Strength, I mean he is unwavering in his resolve towards Compassion. Sengoku Basara 2009 takes a lot of instances to reiterate that Masamune cannot be swayed, his Resolve is unquestioning, no one can stop him, slow him, or change his mind. His catch phase is "pressing onward" (translated as "full speed ahead"). One of his first scenes is charging ahead, disregarding Katakura's warnings for caution. (Notice that in Judge End, this is framed as foolish brashness, but in Sengoku Basara 2009, Katakura smiles and continues following without worry, because he completely trusts Masamune's instincts and decision-making. Because everyone trusts Masamune 2009 to always make decisions based in the best ideals/Compassion.) This is reiterated throughout season 2, when Masamune makes allies and each of them ask him to change directions, but the most they can do is temporarily slow him down, because he doesn't stop moving forward. This Strength directed in outward Compassion towards others is almost unexpected after considering Masamune's historical backstory. One would think that someone betrayed by his mother would become disillusioned and spiteful towards the world. It's a basic supervillain backstory to be betrayed by a trusted figure, especially during fundamental development. But instead, Masamune seems to want only to protect others and bring the whole country under his command, so that the whole country of people can be under his umbrella of protection. The 2009 series only mentions his regret from one of his early battles where lots of his soldiers died, being his major motivation in protecting others, specifically his soldiers. But I've headcanon'ed a lot that can be extrapolated from his historical backstory, that when in conjunction to his actions in Sengoku Basara 2009, portrays a Masamune who has dedicated himself towards Compassion, despite his tragic backstory.
Similarly, Claude's backstory is tragic, yet he emerges with True Strength. I've heard criticisms within the fandom that Claude growing up experiencing so much bullying and discrimination against his being biracial, could not believably yield a person dedicated towards Compassion. But I think that's just brainwashing from too many supervillain tropes telling us that traumatized and mentally ill people invariably become villains. I've heard it's more realistic that people who have experienced trauma, tragedy, or some kind of pain, actually are more likely to increase their ability to empathize/sympathize with others, consequently becoming more compassionate. (Mentioned in https://youtu.be/bHe2seINnE0 at 2:03/9:09; https://youtu.be/zaZYDK1RcEU) Claude experienced descrimination and bullying; he explicitly explains in FE3H canon that he wants to create a world where no one else has to experience that same pain. I really don't see why this can be an unbelievable characterization to some people, when most of the world admires Batman for literally that same reason. And I think that characters, like Claude, who react to trauma and hardship with altruism, demonstrate a True Strength in their characters. They haven't been broken by their trauma. They not only survive, but survive as people who still want to care for others. (Also why I love Natsume Takashi.)
I was tempted to include Dimitri in the category of "Emerged from tragic backstory with Strength and vowing to make world where no one will experience same pain". But he didn't emerge with the same level of flawless Strength that Masamune and Claude did. Dimitri certainly did resolve to protect others from ever experiencing the pain that he felt, after the Tragedy of Duscur. But he was also not as mentally stable. He was so repressed and internally conflicted (concerning his feelings of vengence, or sadness that didn't know how to be expressed as anything but anger, lest he break), that he didn't integrate his "boar" impulses/emotions until much later in his post-time-skip. I didn't feel that Dimitri was a fully reconcilled version of himself, until after he had accepted his "boar" emotions, stopped repressing his unresolved anger, and learned to express them more appropriately or at more appropriate times. After he became more mentally/emotionally stable, I have no doubt that he still can have episodes of rage, anti-social moods, or crippling survivor's guilt, but I think he no longer allows those feelings/episodes to push away the people he cares about or disregard his true personal desires to be kind/protective towards others. He knows how to deal with those feelings now. But he spent a long time not yet at that stable level, until much later. Until then, he was frankly wavering, conflicting with his personal resolve, denying his own ideals, and allowing his survivor's guilt manifesting as ghosts to sway him away from his true desires/motivations/values of Compassion. Dimitri was Weak for a time. So I can't say that he was in the same category of Strength as Masamune and Claude.
Dimitri's backstory of his father's death and idolizing Rodrigue, after he took him in, is information he canonically tells the player.
But I realize that Sengoku Basara 2009 never actually mentions a backstory like this for Yukimura. I'm actually referencing the takarazuka version of Sengoku Basara. In that play, they include a childhood backstory scene, where Yukimura's father was a subordinate of Takeda and died while protecting him. Young Yukimura blamed Takeda for his father's death and went to punch him out. Because Takeda understood that Yukimura needed catharsis and was trying to reconcile with his grief, Takeda allowed himself to be punched. But he also punched back. I think maybe to encourage Yukimura to keep going? I can't remember. But eventually, Yukimura punched out all his anger and only had energy left to finally cry, and Takeda said something that comforted him. From then on, he called Takeda "Oyakata-sama" and became completely devoted to him. This explained the origin of the running gag from the 2009 anime, wherein Takeda and Yukimura engage in fist fights as a form a bonding. (It's a shame that the video of these scenes was taken off YouTube. ;_; ) I don't know if "Sengoku Basara Sanada Yukimura-den" mentions how Yukimura's father dies, since he finally appeared in that game. So I'm referencing the takarazuka version.
There isn't really mention of Masamune's mother in the 2009 Sengoku Basara anime. The closest, was Masamune's maternal uncle appearing in the movie "The Last Party" that ended that anime series. But historically, after the real life Date Masamune survived smallpox at a young age, and lost sight in his right eye, there was a lot of dissent among the other high ranking people within his clan, concerning his continued position as the Date clan's head. A lot of this dissent was lead by his mother, who insisted that Masamune's younger brother should become the new clan leader instead. Some accounts say that to shut up accusations that Masamune was weak and that his faulty eye was just an advertised weakness that enemies would take advantage of on the battlefield, Masamune either pulled out his own right eye or ordered Katakura to do it. Apparently, that shut up everyone except his mother, who still continued to try undermining his position. I don't know if there was one instance of several, but she also tried to kill him through poisoning, to replace him with his brother. Because of this, Masamune's only choice was to kill his own little brother, which forced his mother to run back to her original clan. (I can only assume that Masamune didn't just kill his mother, because it's possible she indoctrinated his brother to ursurp him. So Masamune might have ended up eventually needing to kill his brother anyway.) Lots of us in the Sengoku Basara fandom like to headcanon that all of this happened for the Basara version of Masamune too.
It's my understanding that Cornelia implicated Dimitri's stepmother in the murder of his father and friends at the Tragedy of Duscur, but that things were still left canonically vague. Personally, the fact that Patricia was always kind to Dimitri, combined with the fact that Cornelia is proven duplicitous, I find it difficult to believe that Patricia intentionally betrayed Dimitri. The way Cornelia described it, she offered Patricia a chance to be reunited with her daughter Edelgard, Patricia confirmed that desire, then the Tragedy of Duscur happened. Given that Cornelia was already doing terrible things behind Patricia's back, like experimenting on Hapi, and Patricia being angry at Cornelia when she discovered Hapi, I doubt that Cornelia would have been fully truthful with Patricia. I imagine Cornelia tricked Patricia into opening a path or lowering some defenses to "allow a clandestine meeting with Edelgard", but then Cornelia would probably use it to sneak in enemies to kill Dimitri's father and friends. That's my headcanon theory on the Tragedy of Duscur anyway. So Dimitri was only *possibly* betrayed by his mother figure.
And that's my comparison between DateSana and DimiClaude/DMCL/ClauDimi. It continuously amazes me how similar these ships are and how my shipping has come full circle. lol
