(EDIT: I WAS WRONG)#Dragon LWJ probably would be some kind of river dragon. Lesser god of a small stream.#One that grows bigger with time but always has the reputation of being benevolent and calm to those who seek its clear waters.#Do not pollute these waters or your ass is going to be bit. 1000 tiny puncture marks.#I imagine that's probably how wwx first meets him (accidently pours booze into lwj's river) (gets bit - gets bit - gets bit-)#WWX eventually befriends him through stubbornly showing up every week to give him offerings.#Takes him into town in a little pot of water to show him how the people live. Maybe go to a festival.#When the day is done and he's back in his river and alone - LWJ finally feels a new emotion...it is longing and loneliness.

I'm so sorry, I'm kinda drunk and dropping another idea, do with it whatever ye will.

Yknow how in the beginning of the game, Sojiro tells Ren he won't take care of him when he gets sick?

Consider: he's not used to city germs/being that closely shoved against other people on the train. He DOES start to get sick around Kamoshida's Palace, powers through it, and then is SUPER sick just after it's over.

He plans on sucking it up and hiding it, but Futaba hears his hacking coughs over her bug even when he's upstairs, followed by wheezing, maybe even a little weeping. He's constantly in and out of the bathroom, and he's starting to run out of tissues.

Futaba nervously texts Sojiro that the kid they took in sounds awful. Sojiro is gruff at first and says he's not a baby, he can take care of himself. She responds by sending him the audio and suddenly Dad Instincts kick in

ren has already been though so much by the time he arrives in tokyo, to then be put into a dusty old attic like a spare part would absolutely fit in with ren's own perception of himself at that stage. it would be almost too easy for him to put his own health on the backburner kinda like he's already used to it

very used to not taking up space, 'not being a bother', and then sojiro really reinforces this message when ren first gets to leblanc- so when ren inevitably gets ill a month into his probation, it's already doomed for maladaption

tokyo would be such a breeding ground for sickness compared to the countryside, and ren just doesn't have the consitution to deal with it. the dusty attic and poor eating habits don't help matters, and then we have the stress of kamoshida and the metaverse?? ren is not having a Good Time™

at first it's something he thinks he can shrug off, and is adamant that ignoring it is the way to go. a cold, it's nothing, he can handle this alone, no need to bother anyone else with it.

inevitably, he gets worse, because that's what happens when you don't rest and let yourself recover. a tickly cough becomes a tightness in his chest, mild congestion shifts into an attack on his senses and blurriness- but maybe that's the dizziness. he's not really sleeping, either.

it's something that's becoming increasingly difficult to brush off and hide, he even relented to finally getting some medicine (nothing as strong as he needs by this point, that would eat too much into his limited funds, but some painkillers to take the edge off). once or twice he's tempted to stay off school, at morgana's insistence, or a too close call where he definitely blacked out for a minute, but then sojiro's voice will ring in his head 'i won't be the one looking after you if you get sick', 'your parents got rid of you for being a pain in the ass', and all his worst insecurities come rushing back and he's resolved to deal with it on his own

meanwhile, futaba's been making use of her hidden audio bugs- normally they're a comfort for her in the daytime, but since the new kid- ren- has been staying at the cafe (part-timer her ass, how gullible does sojiro think she is?!), she's been listening more frequently. when ren gets sick, she figures it out quickly.

time goes on, he's not getting better- he's actually getting worse- and futaba starts to wonder if she's the only one who knows

(there's something in his sharp contrasts- the quiet kid who shuffles through the cafe and takes sojiro's scolding, to the coughing kid who cries into the silence of night when he thinks there's nobody there to see it- that stabs through her numbness. it feels like a companion to her own ghost)

one night she swears the kid gets up to be sick, and there's hardly any sound heard from the attic all night. if nobody's gonna help ren, then she will (futaba used to like helping, once upon a time).

she texts sojiro the next day, when ren doesn't say anything again, and goes off to school with what she bets is a fake assurance on his face

and you're so right, sojiro dismisses her concern really easily, claims the kid can 'take care of himself' and he won't 'baby' the part-timer. insists ren needs to learn some disipline, then maybe he'll stay out of trouble

frustration wells in futaba- if she was less fixated on what was going on with ren, she'd register it's one of the first changes of mood she's had for months- and she responds with nothing but an audio clip, an attached explanation that this is just from the past few days- it's been going on for weeks, then she waits, and hears the distant sound of her compilation through one of the bugs, a hitched breath from sojiro, curse words under his breath-

for all his earlier postulating about not helping ren if he gets sick, sojiro is immeditely struck with a pang of concern- it sounded bad, and if futaba's words were anything to go by, this had been going on for a while. the kid's at school now (at school, being as ill as that and he was still going to class-), so sojiro will talk to him when he gets back. there's a chance he goes a bit too over the top, between the variation of medicines he purchases, supplies he grabbed from home- if you accused him for over-compensating after maybe being too harsh on the kid in the beginning, you'd be right

and you just know ren would be so resistent at first to help, or even just the offer of staying off school. in his sickness-induced fugue, ren's filter-less in rattling off how he can't stay off, what will the students and teachers think, and he has work that afternoon, and a test soon, and he doesn't want to get in the way-

sojiro's heart just shatters

this kid, whose been silently carring the weight of the world and has apparently been falling to pieces for weeks now and sojiro didn't even notice?

(a part of it reminds him too much of the other kid he's got at home, the countless ways he's already failed futaba, and now ren too? he feels useless)

sojiro focuses on what he can do, and that's making the kid rest. work will understand, school can wait, ren isn't an inconvenience, he guides the kid to bed, calls takemi immediately (who rushes over, despite the fact she's technically closed at this hour, and refuses to take any payment),

even still, there's this stilted awkwardness between them when the quiet pushes on too long- they hardly know each other, afterall. sojiro is still figuring out the 'caring for kids' thing, and ren isn't familiar with any kind of parental affection, so some of sojiro's care veers a bit too close to clinical or mechanic, and ren still struggles to communicate what kind of help he needs, but it's enough for now.

for now, sojiro is there. he's trying, and at least ren's getting some colour back on his skin. for now, ren's willing to take a few days off and have some medicine, but he's over-apologetic and definitely tries to make up for his sickness once he's healed. it's gonna take them both a while yet, but luckily there's always their guardian hacker, ready and able to call them out when needed (and maybe some day she'll be able to keep an eye on ren and sojiro in person)

Steve making a break for it once Tony's back is turned though (just like he did in the movie after waking😂), and Steve getting out there to hear the news about the havoc the depraved Iron Man's caused (before the current fixed!Tony could give him an update on the situation and recruit him), misunderstandings ensue.😎

Our baby boy needs his screentime to grow big and strong.#This whole scene is very good and does a lot to show us several important traits about wwx:#1) He has no hesitation to put his own face or life at risk to help someone (even if they have never met).#2) He does not care for what others say or think about him; he will do what he thinks is right.#And he is smart enough to think is is always right about his judgement. This will be a problem later.#I also think the silly energy in this scene is top notch.#Wen Ning is the wild chipmunk wwx managed to catch and wants to keep as a pet.#Jiang Cheng is gently easing this boy out of wwx's extrovert maw and saying 'put him back outside'.#Can you imagine being blindsided by the full force of wwx out of nowhere? Kiteman: Can you call in another time? I'm bowlling with the guys, Calendar Man and Condiment King cannot win a second time, one weird rap about their love conquering all was ENOUGHT.

Cluemaster: Yeah... it happened that the thing they had in common was that they really hate me.

to no extent had kakyoin expected that so significant a tenderness would bloom in his chest upon making giorno’s acquaintance , especially since he’d come to italy for work . over a decade has passed since the momentous events of his egyptian escapade , & in that time , he has learned more about his true self than ever had been previously apparent ━━━━ become more of himself than ever he had been before . but one aspect of his being that has yet to fully emerge from its chrysalis is his reluctance to open himself up to others ; many pensive hours has he sat beside his inner child in healing silence , hoping to unravel , thread by thread , the tightly - wound shroud in which he’d enswathed himself for protection , as if hierophant’s tendrils had coiled ’round his too - soft body like an unbreakable cocoon .

perhaps that had been a necessary response to the corroding heartache of a childhood spent entirely alone . yet , he has managed to make a home for himself on the other side , now , & the white - knuckled grip he’s maintained on the latch to free his heart from its cage doesn’t serve him so well anymore . how ironic a tragedy that letting go is this difficult , but as a man that has survived the unfathomable , kakyoin is not so inclined to think of it as a mountain he cannot summit . even the slackening of one knuckle at a time is still progress .

even so , there was something he saw in giorno early on that rendered his heart’s immaculate camouflage futile , exposing the softness tucked beneath layers & layers of armor without so much as an honest effort . perhaps he saw himself in giorno , & perhaps that extended to him the ability to perceive the lonely child hiding at the core of the strong & straight - shouldered force of nature that brought an entire syndicate to its knees . how could he behold that & allow himself to become another person that abandons him ??

the embrace is as warm as the venetian summer , or maybe warmer still , & the loving width of kakyoin’s smile encapsulates a disposition just the same as his arms anchor tightly around giorno’s smaller frame . as much as he’s dreaded having to bid giorno farewell ( distance can be so cruel ; how unfortunate that the heart can leave pieces of itself all over the world ) , moments like this are precious enough to quell the sinking feeling in his abdomen , leaving a comforting reminder that not even eight thousand kilometers can make strangers of them in its wake .

“ i don’t just mean for practical things , ” he says , straightening his back just enough to look at the boy in his arms , “ though that’s important , of course . but for anything , even if you just need someone to talk to . ” a lavender gaze is devastatingly soft as it meets the blueish emeralds reflecting off of it in a deepening gradient , & in the back of his mind , kakyoin curses the throb in his chest & the pressure building behind his eyes . his husband would surely say he is being dramatic , & maybe he is , but his ever - growing affinity for the golden - haired boy cannot be helped .

“ i know that you’re a busy young man , but if you just want to talk about your day , or tell me about any cute boys in your life , ” his smile grows a little with that remark , the teasing glint to his eye twinkling like a sky full of stars , “ i’d be happy to listen . ”

the raising of a slender wrist & hierophant’s tugging back of a linen sleeve reveals the face of kakyoin’s watch , prompting a slight pout . oh , fuck it . sure , he’s eager to return home to his family ( this is the longest he’s been away since jouta was born ) , but giorno has become family , too . “ say , giogio ━━━━ it seems i don’t have to be at the airport for another few hours , ” he says , ruby - hued lashes fanning out between scarred lids as his eyes become smiling crescents . “ i think that gives us just enough time for one more adventure . i still haven’t gotten to try amarena gelato , & that’s just unfair . ”

Ran out of answer spaces but! I felt it was important to split off Team Plasma since there is a significant ideological difference between them (as far as I remember each ideation of Team Rocket has the same goals/beliefs, Giovanni himself just stepped down and changed his mind)

That said! This is less about favorite gen and more about believing in the beliefs -- especially interesting to consider if you align with the Main Villain and their outlook, or if you believe in the so-called "cause" that may or may not be true, or have some truth to it (like, if you wanted to help Pokemon like og Plasma and Aether Foundation).

Sorry to lump Yell and Star together, I was going chronologically!! You'll have to specify which and why in the tags haha (if you want to that is!)

And honestly that goes for any choice, sell it to me. Why should I join Your team?

WHY you're joining. beyond favoritism!#i've already made my choice tbh it's team skull. like they have a point and an extremely valid reason to be angry.#if you can't measure up and do the island challenge as expected ESP when it is SO culturally significant in alola #what do you even do. ofc you're gonna be washed up and burned out and carrying the weight of failure with you always.#until one day you're like 'hey isn't weird we put so much pressure on literal 11 year olds actually'#and then you start questioning tradition and expectations and the system and you're like okay.#LET'S START COMMITTING CRIME #really i think the only area they went wrong was to bully the 11y/os about it instead of directing their rage #at the adults who put them in that situation in the first place. LIKE. imagine a world where team skull on top of being public nuisances #were instead actively trying to recruit every kid doing the island challenge to their cause #to dismantle the significance of the island challenge and maybe where they go wrong here is #they're 'too destructive' and there's a place to meet in the middle (can be an annoying message but also. kids game LMFAO)#that said it would be really interesting how they'd interact w the captains as well cause a lot of them are kids too #are they also regarded as victims of an unfair system like the island challengers or someone who upholds it?#ultimately team skull is still a red herring but. it would make for some wild world building!#also team star is extremely based and have done nothing wrong in their entire lives. i am fighting the school board about it.
