See, I made it all the way to “he’s MY boy,” and later Nott disguising herself as a very specifically described Halfling woman and knocking on a certain door before I realized the incredible mind he has. I fully thought up until those points that he just had a twisted sense of humor, and only wanted to be the comic relief. I had skipped campaign 1 because it was too hard to get through the technical difficulties in the first few episodes. I have since remedied that, and witnessed all of That.

And now we have this new tragedy. We all thought FCG was Pinnochio, but he was The Velveteen Rabbit. He became Real as he transcended the life he’d known, to protect the ones he loved most. Who had made him Real with their love for him.

I liked and reblogged this don’t worry but I always feel weird reblogging things that have nothing to do with aftg and then writing something about aftg so I’m doing it this way to ease my anxiety, okay?

Anyway.

When Andrew is drafted to his first pro team this is exactly what Abby does. She’s nothing if not her Foxes biggest advocate, has even attended a doctors appointment or two when one of them was to anxious to go alone. Abby isn’t a mean person, but she is tough and she is brave, so she find Andrew’s medical team, anyone who will have to deal with him physically, and she give it to them like they have already crossed every boundary.

Abby learned how to help Andrew without crossing all of his lines and eventually she earned his trust enough to let her help him. These new people won’t have that right off the bat and they won’t earn it if they don’t know what they are working towards. She does this with every team Andrew is drafted to, and while she doesn’t tell Andrew she does this, he knows. Of course he knows. And he is grateful because none of them have ever made the mistake of touching him without permission. They give him time and space before they start working with his injuries. They are firm about things because they have to be when it comes to Andrew stubbornness, but Abby thought them how to do that without setting him off as well. Andrew doesn’t trust them, but he lets them do their jobs without putting up to much of a fight. He always calls Abby after though, and he never tells her thank you, but he does go over his injuries and his treatment plans and he lets her worry about him over the phone until she feels better.

It shouldn't need to be said but I'm seeing a lot of vitriol towards Ashton about their actions and I have to say I don't agree with them.

At the clock tower Fearne brought up the shard, stated that in her opinion Ashton should take the shard because she didn't want it. Ashton decided then as a result they'd take it, but because it was an extreme risk made very aware to them all they knew the other Hells wouldn't allow them to go through with it. Ashton asked Fearne if she was okay with both of them going together alone with the plan, reiterating that they didn't want to put this on Fearne, that if they died Fearne would not be to blame, and that they have no intention of dying, and Fearne said yes.

Fearne having second thoughts at the Ziggurat was just worry, because she cares deeply for Ashton, Ashton kissing her was not manipulation either; it was letting go of fear, having no regret with the person they also care deeply for and taking the risk. And yeah, it was frightening, 10 rounds of perpetual fiery near-death situations and one actual death situation; Laura is fuming, Ashley cannot look, Liam is playing Mad World on loop in his mind, even Matt is completely on edge, but they survived. Accusations that Ashton manipulated Fearne to selfishly take the shard seem to misinterpret the shard saga as well as Fearne and Ashton's characters, they will get a very intense amount of chastising for sure, but it will be out of love, out of the fear that they were going to lose them, not because they thought Ash was manipulative.

another random comment about leif garrett hehe but I think we as a fandom greatly underestimate how big of a star leif was in the 70s and early 80s. Milly Alcock - Struggling to operate the oven. She doesn’t know what temperature the cake is supposed to bake at, but she’s really really trying and we love her for it. Will probably pull a Jade Thirlwall and start rocking herself on the floor. (See the photo at the end for reference.)

Emily Carey - She’s the one that’s really precise about measurements. They’re using the back of a knife as a leveler and everything. She’s also eating strawberries as they go along because it’s honestly such a vibe and we love that.

Emma D’Arcy - An absolute GOD at baking. They’d probably finish before everyone else and sit back while drinking their Negroni Sbagliato with Prosecco in it. Would also win the whole show. The entire cast has no idea where they got it.

Olivia Cooke - Constantly talking to herself. She’s ready to bust out a cookbook at this point. Stress eating the whole way through and really really wants a martini. She will steal sips of Emma’s Negroni when they’re not looking.

Paddy Considine - He’s not taking any of this seriously. AT ALL. Treats the tent like his personal runway. Bro’s quoting RuPaul’s Drag Race every other second. He’ll start frosting his cake and say that it’s giving pastry chef realness.

Matt Smith - Regretting all his life choices. A bit of a basic bitch and chose to make a Victoria Spongecake at one point. He’s actually an okay baker but his station is next to Paddy’s, which means having to listen to six different renditions of Who’s Loving You?

Fabien Frankel - Secretly super competitive. He really wants to win this even though everyone knows it’s going to be Emma. He’s glaring at everyone because of how much he wants to win but is constantly making heart eyes at Eve Best.

Rhys Ifans - Loud. Trying to screw everyone over and ends up not finishing in time. He’s eating chocolate in the corner while everyone else’s creations are being judged. Also takes great pleasure in stealing Fabien’s ingredients to mess with him.

Steve Toussaint - The only sane one there. Just vibing with himself and the food he makes. The best baker of the bunch behind Emma. Always checking on Eve to make sure she hasn’t burned herself and/or had a nervous breakdown.

Eve Best - Having a nervous breakdown. Needs her Emotional Support Steve. She’s nervously giggling the whole show. Actually a decent baker and no one is more shocked than Eve herself.
