the symbolism of jean and jeremy cleaning the shards of glass out of the sink makes me sick. jean picking up the pieces, cutting himself not even caring enough about his own well-being to worry that he has drawn blood. jeremy seeing this shimmer of self-destruction and helping. jeremy knowing how to touch a broken, jagged thing. how to handle it with care.
