Okay I know everyone wants the reunion swordfight in season 2 of Our Flag Means Death where Ed stabs Stede and then it all goes from there

BUT

What's living in my mind rent free? Ed has got careless and wreckless and basically gets himself into a really bad situation - possibly againt Hornigold - and because he's drunk or whatever he's on the ground about to be run through by the Big Scary Villain (maybe welcoming it? Maybe he's heard Stede is dead). And what happens? Stede arrives in the nick of time, jumps in front of him, takes the blade and kills Villain, then collapses. Ed cradles him against his knees and then we get the "Because I love you" or whatever before Stede falls unconscious, and then we get the healing etc etc

SERIOUSLY THOOOO. IMAGINE. It could be to Our Prayer, or it could be to I Need A Hero, or something like that. IMAGINE IIIIITTTTTTTTT

Tempted to write one of those classic avengers x readers but the y/n is a sassy boy with fox powers.

He and loki get along amazingly, its like weird divorced men who have sex semi-regularly but still hate (love) each other

He and Cap have a rocky relationship— Cap doesnt know how to take the gay stuff seriously but wants to, while Bucky comes in to steal the show like he used to. That becomes a problem that gets solved with a threesome

He and Tony have a fun master-apprentice thing going on but Tony discovers that He has a big interest in plushy making? Which ok sure, thats like tinkering right? No Tony, but give it a shot. The two get along like a weird older man younger man do, with a gen gap thats kinda weird but He loves to poke and prod at Tonys bullshit

Cant forget our fav girl! Nat totally teaches Him some moves and they discover that He has this awesome sense and flexibility that totally gets used in spy missions and in the bedroom (NOT WITH NAT— shes like a weird big sister. Reader is 1000000% gay and loves men)

Speaking of men, Thor is just eye candy for Him. Loves looking, and what if He gets a touch? Maybe… a taste? Ohhh, greedy god.

Banner gets a fine helping of sass too. In fact, they both love to shit talk. Banner and Him love to vent over movies, and happily lets the cuddles happen. Bruce can get insecure, but thankfully those fox powers come in handy and— poof! Big fluffy tail to pet and pawbeans to squish! Ease those fears.

Debating on what these powers mean. Can He turn into a big fox? Can he shift forms? Am I a furry? Yes. Yes I am. Where did these powers come from? Space? Secret alien parent? Weird drug? Possession? Who knows. We love it, you love it!

Obviously things change as the movies do. Lots of mourning in the snap era— does He get snapped or does He live? First comment about that decides it. Civil War? He sides with Tony. Lets him meet Peter AND he fundamentally understands that their power should have some regulation in terms of city wide destruction… thoooo he usually sticks to Hells Kitchen. He feels a bit more like an Honorary Avenger (tm).

Wrapping that up, I’ve been thinking about this guy for a long time. Let me know if my mad ramblings are something cool, cringe, or something else!

Seriously, I don't know what your idea of feminism is, but mine is about defending the rights of women and lifting each other up, not standing alone at the top of the food chain with blood of other women on my hands and slurs on my priviliged tongue.

Please, you can just call her a strong female character instead of dragging feminism through the mud.

okay i am going to be honest here, i was contemplating whether i should answer this at all. the wording feels very passive aggressive.

however i do want to encourage open conversation on my blog. and its important for me to stress that it is okay to disagree w my opinions and come talk to me about it. so i am going to answer this politely.

when i say "feminist icon" in the context of fictional characters, i mean female characters who are inspirational to me. who i can look up to. whose stories give me strength to deal with shit in real life.

for different people, it will be different characters - and that's okay.

the way i see it, she is the only character in the entire series who really breaks the stereotypes of whats expected of her as a woman, especially in the context of pure-blooded society where shes raised (which i relate to a lot, having grown up in a religious muslim environment where a woman's sole purpose is to marry young and have a bunch of kids).

my impression of bellatrix when watching/reading the series was that she was the ONLY female character who:

is an active fighting member of the Death Eaters, an all-male organization

is the most important and powerful member of said organization, after snape and the dark lord himself

does not have children, which goes against the entire concept and purpose of marriage in pure-blooded society

is way more powerful and "important" than her spouse. her story is independent from Lestrange

does not have her story revolve around a bigger male character

Her entire character arc is centered around defying every possible role she's been assigned since birth.

I have a whole post on this, which people seem to reference a lot, but based on the things they say, dont actually bother to read before coming to tell me they disagree.

It is important for me to note that once again, we are talking in the realm of fictional world. I am under no illusions that killing and torturing people is, indeed, a bad thing. This is fiction.

And once more, I encourage people to challenge my opinions and talk about it, but please do try to do it in a respectful manner. You can come off anon and talk to me either publicly or privately about this.

so with ukai and reader, reader is supposed to be between the ages of 18-21 and ukai probsbly almost at 30. also the fic is through tsukishima’s perspective who isn’t entirely delusional like akiteru is but he still isn’t exactly reliable either and he strongly believes ukai uses reader for sex even though she was a virgin and says repeatedly her and ukai haven’t fucked. but her and ukai’s relationship isn’t entirely innocent and there’s a power imbalance because he buys her a lot of gifts, he’s experienced more of life, he’s more stable etc whereas she’s very innocent and sheltered and naive so i guess even if he does love her it’s not exactly an ‘ethical’ relationship if that makes sense?

So, funny story, you met at the hospital

Tom had dislocated his shoulder while doing a backflip *dejected sigh*

And you were just trying to keep your baby niece calm while waiting for the nurse to come get you

You were sitting on the bed, Tom was right next to you, only a curtain separating you

But there was a tiny crack near the end from where it was pulled too far

And when you pressed Olivia closer to your chest, her head resting on your shoulder, she made eye contact with him

He saw her tear-filled eyes

(broke his heart)

So he started to make funny faces at her

Which made her start to giggle and coo and make grabby hands towards him

You turned around, visibly confused because hellooo she was just crying a second ago and now she’s???laughing???

And then you saw him

oh shit he’s hot

He smiled at you

You smiled back, cause what else are you supposed to do?

He got up and pushed the curtains back

And sat on the chair instead

Still on his side of the curtain

But looking at you straight in the eye now

"'S okay. Besides, at least I'm not alone all the time you now? I mean, it's hard to take care of a 13 month-old, but at least I know she won't grow up like I did... afraid... wondering if her mom was gonna come home drunk or half-dressed with another guy on her tail, wishing her sister would let her sleep on the bed instead of locking herself up with her boyfriend there."

He watched you smile as you looked down at the little girl in your arms that seemed to be a perfect reflection of you.

That was the moment he fell in love with you

Dark circles under your eyes and all

He got your number (yay!!) and had to work (read: pester you) for two weeks before you agreed to go out on a date with him.

Liv stayed with Harrison (after you checked that he was a good babysitter)

He took you to a nice little restaurant near the beach

They served giant burgers

You excused yourself to the bathroom just before dessert

And that bastard took advantage of that tiny window to pay the bill

And tried to pay him back

He laughed and said no

Then he bought you a giant cotton candy

You finished the cotton candy together while strolling down the beach

Then once it was done he threw out the cone and took your hand

The sun was just setting so it was like a picture-perfect moment

You have a very YOU style of writing that has your signature that I very much enjoyed. First of all, I thought the roommates, magic, and shifter aus blended very well to create a unique and memorable world. I think the thing we all learned here today is classical music is still very, VERY much alive. And that pop could be a pretty iNtEreStInG way to indoctrinate introduce people to classical music. I've been listening to a bunch of pop lately and honestly? It was a WEIRD experience. I kept getting befuddled by the amount of music there was (3 minutes of catchy beats is nOTHING against a half hour of intense musical dialog, argument, and passion) and the repetitiveness and simplicity of it (like dude wheres the motif? Is the motif your beat? Why is it playing the same thing over and over? Huh?). But, its still good music. There were a couple outliers too, that really gave me an experience. (Check out seasonal feathers by hitoshizuku it broke my heart) Look, what im trying to say is- classical and pop are both amazing genres of music that can do incredible things and I'm just happy that they can coexist together in one... piece? Of music. (My opinion might be a lil different compared to my lesson time on their other vid but hey people change)

So, lets get on with the songs!

Road to Kingdom - T. O. P. (Covered by Golden Child) and Swan Lake - Tchaikovsky. I... honestly, I didn't hear it at first. The electro music covered up much of the phrase. (please forgive my horrible usage of musical terms im just a kid thats really into classical music, in still learning how to understand and appreciate it everyday mkay?) Well, that's what I thought at first but I guess the transition from electro pop to singing along with classical jarred me so much that I had to listen to it a couple times before catching it. Anyways, the singing kinda vibed a lil with the music but when they changed singers or went a higher key, it started loosing that (already really loose) connection because even though I knew the tchaik would go higher, the singer went higher in a different key and it felt pretty weird and strange like what Eddy said. But overall, id listen to it. ...which isn't really that high of praise since I listen to everything (oh man... the days when i could still rap eminem's rap god to perfection...)

Shinhwa - T. O. P. and Swan Lake - Tchaikovsky (again). I'm not mad at them for using this a lot actually. I've been trying to watch the ballet on youtube but my classical music listening and appreciation and understanding skills are not yet that refined. (Aka i was already a goner when aCT ONE SCENE TWO WAS STARTING. Sigh, i need more training... and more Inside the Score) aNYWAYS- To quote Eddy, oh tHATS SO WEIRD. I literally said it at the exact same time as him lol. But like seriously thoooo. I thought it was gonna like, transition to the piece but like. No. They're just... singing to the tune. I mean like, you can't ruin perfection you guys but like- add a tune? Or something of your own? That isnt just lyrics? Ah shit, now I cant stop imaging playboy!Tchaik ugh. Thank you for making my brain run a mile a minute and being the reason why I won't be sleeping for a couple hours.

Top Dog - Topp Dog and Symphony in G Minor, No. 25 - Mozart. When I heard the first notes of the piece, I reacted the same as both of them. Aka, i recognized it but I forgot the name. As you do with classical music. I've always wanted to download and listen to that piece. Maybe this is a sign... Anyways, the piece here really just vibed with the song ykno? I think its because they decided that they didn't want to overpower the piece by slapping their own music on top but like... they accented and accompanied and complimented it without the spotlight being stolen from them. They brought their own little twist to it and I feel like thats why it works so much. But, I still prefer the orig because it isnt just tHREE MINUTES LONG. (cue airhorns and fire emojis) But its a great combo overall. 10 out of 10, would classical again.

Jimin - Lie and La Vida Breve - Manuel de Falla. Honestly, to me, i feel like literally anyone could come up with that tune. Its like, a really fast beat. You know how almost every basic piece of music uses dun dun tss as a beat? Its kinda like that to me. Because, speaking from my own personal opinions here, fast beats sound nice and that doesnt necessarily mean that it was inspired by a fast part in a piece. Or maybe Jimin listens to classical. WhO kNoWs?

Cherry Bullet - Hands Up and Beethoven's Fur Elise. That "EeeEeeeh" part made me laugh out loud the first time i watched this vid. It still jarrs me like oh my god what the heck why. Dude, they literally just slapped that part into different parts of the song and im- you didnt need to give me more reason to be sick of the opening of Fur Elise. I feel like if I listened to that, the opening is gonna be stuck in my head forever. At least they didnt repeat the "EEEEEE" thing. And honestly, id love to agree with the bois on this one but like... the opening of the song itself broke me im so sorry im so hung over this one detail gOD.

Gfriend - Summer Rain and Schumann - Dichterliebe. All i can say in this part is... Thank you editor-san for adding in that one detail those precious boys missed. But, as ive only seriously gotten into classical recently and therefore arent familiar with a lot of composers works, i can only hear the influence in the beginning instrumental of the song. So uh... might give it a listen for detail. But, i probably wont.

And, oh yeah is it just me or do they seem really tired? Or just... kinda out of it in this one? Because at the end, Eddy was just kinda... playin around with ding ding while Brett carries the energy for the both of them. Hope theyre not stressed but if they are, i hope they get some much needed rest and energy. I also wonder what was up with yesterday. Aka, they didn't post a vid yesterday and i got cONCERNED. I just hope theyre alright.

oh yayyyyyy! there it goes! fair warning, i’ve written it upon my first / second listen as i do w all my reviews, bc i feel like that way it manages to include a first impression kind of vibe without it being superficial. i’ve reread and i agree w myself (hehe) and i’ve lifted a few grades bc i’ve been feeling some stuff more lately, but yeah, this was not written now so. just to clarify.

golden: okayyyyy i wasn’t expecting for his voice to sound like this!! like, low and raspy? it sounds more intimate this way, i think? as for the sound, it’s kind of funky and think as an opener, this song really represents the sound he chose for this album… i could be wrong tho, let’s see how it goes on. slightly repetitive but the voice won me over and overall, i really like it.

fave lyrics: i’m out of my head and i know that you’re scared because i’m so open.

watermelon sugar: when this song starts i’m like ok… i like everything about it… but then the chorus comes in and idk, something annoys me about the ‘watermelon sugar high’, i think it’s hyper metric so that doesn’t sit right w my ears, and then worst lyric ever goes to ‘i want your belly’… so overall it’s a meh from me. the breathe me in / out part sounds so lovely thoooo.

fave lyrics: baby you’re the end of june

adore you: this is my fave out of the singles! it’s just boppy and cute, a feel good song. it doesn’t amaze me but i wouldn’t mind listening to it often bc it’s just a happy song and it’s sooo catchy, it’s the only single that truly got stuck in my head. it does sound like a zayn song – like, a lot – in some parts, which isn’t bad per se just… unexpected i guess?

fave lyrics: you don’t have to say you love me, i just wanna tell you something, lately you’ve been on my mind

lights up: at first this song disappointed me very much so idk if i can be completely objective on it, rehearing it i actually really like it… like maybe as a song it’s better than adore you but less catchy so i liked it way less at first? here too, major zayn vibes. it’s growing on me, although there’s still something that i’m not a fan of, idk what it is exactly… maybe the strophe?? i love the ‘shine’ part, not sold on the verse and ‘la da da’, but overall maybe listening to it again i like it better than adore you… it grew on me!

cherry: oh??? i almost didn’t recognise him, there’s a reverberation in the voice or something? i’m no expert so i’m sorry if i’m bullshitting, i’m just trying to describe what i hear. i feel like i like the music more than i like the words (not the words per se, although the songwriting is kind of childish here, tbh, but more like the delivery). i don’t like this… it’s boring and whiny. (also the ‘coucou’ as a background sound kind of irks me) but it’s a good song, maybe just not memorable or not my personal fave. the ending audio doesn’t make much sense to me bc it’s not something you say in like a voicemail, it’s something that requires a response like, as if he’d recorded a conversation and removed his own voice? or just kind of staged? but i like how the final word fades into music.

fave lyrics: i just miss your accent and your friends (let’s be real, the lyrics are so unimpressive, it was hard to pick a line).

falling: oh woooooooooow, i love the way his voice sounds without any effect on it… to me, the lyrics just hit deeper this way, but it’s also that the lyrics here are really something else! and the lyrics……. wow again. i’m loving it! it does that thing where it makes me sick to my stomach in a meaningful, beautiful way. oooh there’s a loooong high note too! nothing to add, this is perfect for me.

to be so lonely: i wasn’t expecting where this was going when it started, very beatlesy, soothing sound and soothing voice! there’s something dreamy about it, the pre-chorus especially, that makes the chorus surprising. and then it’s insistent and like… gets groovier and groovier. veeeery beatles, definitely. i’m a fan!

fave lyrics: i’m just an arrogant son of a bitch who can’t admit when he’s sorry

she: oh i looove psychedelic rock!!!! my genreeeee! beatles again, and pink floyd of course as the most obvious influences. (i want you / she’s so heavy?? it reminds me of the lacrosse the universe version also). and i feel like pink floyd for something in the sound, but the whole thing like voice + sound is more beatles, the descriptive side to it… it reminds me of eleanor rigby like… the way the song makes me feel, kind of anxious in a way that’s not necessarily bad? it just makes me feel things. flexing w that instrumental!!!!! wow. i mean this is my jam, i also love the lyrics so it’s a big big yes from me, although i mean, not groundbreaking as in – it’s been done a lot over the 60s and 70s especially… which is why it’s not a ten, but still, great song.

sunflower, vol. 6: cute!!! the lyrics, the sound, the light falsetto part, the funkish beat! oooh and there’s some funky instrument that i’m too ignorant to define, but nice! maybe for my taste it’s kind of messy, i guess in a good way but also in a way that it’s not something i want to listen to a lot, i think? the hooting and howling in the end… interesting… not really my thing and the beatles did it in the 60s but like… cute.

canyon moon: this sounds too much like italian masterpiece ‘acqua azzurra, acqua chiara’ for me to take it completely seriously, but per se it’s quite nice to listen to, it feels almost country? i swear every time the guitar comes in i kinda lose it bc it’s just… sooo much alike, so i’m sorry i can’t really say more about it. cool lyrics and it’s a nice song!

treat people with kindness: ok this is……… i’m sorry but i’m cringing a bit (a lot). when he comes in it’s not bad, it’s just… the idea of making a song out of a slogan is not genius, to me, like, it’s bound to sound weird and inorganic i think?? i’m sorry, i’m trying to like it but i can’t, like there’s some nice screaming (all together now, just a little bit of kindness) and the gospel chorus per se is amazing but i can’t unhear the lyrics and overall it sounds a bit messy.

fine line: i feel like this is a very fine (hehe) stylistic excercise, again, kind of psychedelic, lots going on w the music, lots of falsetto and some powerful lyrics, but somehow i get distracted while listening to it… kind of (very) boring? especially w how long it is, i guess it aims to make a statement but if so idk, i expected some powerful change throughout? a bridge or something? the mind wanders as you listen to it, one of my least faves for sure.

fave lyrics (these are impressive tho!!): put a price on emotion, i’m looking for something to buy, you’ve got my devotion but man, i can hate you sometimes
