Just. the way it must have felt to see Lucien go from that to. Just the most sweet and affectionate little tiefling. Gentle and curious and so full of joy and wonder. He's got the brightest smile and warm eyes and this mischievous playfulness. He runs off at first--startled, scared. But then once he's calmed, the first real word he says other than Empty is Love. And right after that he calls out for his Magician, for this man who did everything he could to save him, held him close and kissed him so tenderly on the forehead--

And Caleb throws his arms around Essek and Veth and just watches the Nein all descend on Tealeaf and embrace him amidst laughter and tears and Molly's starting to smile again and Caleb's so so happy just to see him finally alive and.

In that moment, Essek understands why they came all this way--

I know I have a semi-popular post about how Gale would not have made a good teacher and that's why I'm so happy that it does happen canonically. It shows so much growth in him: not only does he learn to love himself regardless of his magic ability, that love extends to others. He can now educate students in the field of magic that has always clearly been his true favourite without being "irked by their ineptitude". He shares the art he loves and his enthusiasm, talent, and newfound patience make him a great teacher. With Tav by his side he becomes a happier, less guarded, more caring person and I can't think of anything better for him.

Thinking of writing short stories from Gortash's perspective of my Durge before they were attacked by Orin. Right now I've got a very jealous Enver Gortash seething over Tamasvi secretly meeting up with with a mysterious Fae and not knowing why bouncing around my head, and his perspective on his first experience of watching her performance in a red room.

Maybe some snippets of relationships with the rest of the party during the game too since they don't feature too heavily in 10k Deaths for Bhaal? I've got so many ideas and no time to write them all at the moment.

I'm enjoying writing long form post-canon but it feels SO slow compared to what's going on in my head, its been like 7 chapters and I feel like nothing but set up is happening still.
