stop paying for shit you can pirate
this is a good website for pirating books thats a lot easier than looking for vk epubs, there are pdfs and epubs for a LOT of books and the site is the easiest to use and most comprehensive of the ones that I've found
the free kindle app (don't pay for amazon kindle) lets you send these files to all of you devices with the kindle app at the same time, you can use this site or find the email addresses for your devices in your amazon account (this is amazon tutorial for how to use the send to kindle email), the files are identical to ebooks that you buy for kindle, you can also upload any epub or pdf files from your device to google books and read them there exactly the same
this is a good site for reading any articles that are behind a paywall for free, not sure it if works with academic journals and papers but it definitely works for stuff like the nyt
this is the classic and one of the best sites for pirating movies, tv shows, video games, books, and more, you will need to have a torrent installed to download and use these files, I use utorrent (free)
this is a site that's good for a lot of stuff, its a nonproft free library type program, the book downloads do not work with the kindle app even if the file type is correct but the pdfs can be opened normally with any pdf reader
this is a cracked spotify apk, I think this one might be for android only and this is a link to spotiflyer which is an app that lets you pirate songs from spotify, youtube, and a few others to put on an mp3 player or flashdrive or cd or just to have them downloaded but separate from the spotify app, works on android, windows and mac
this is a very detailed step by step tutorial on getting ALL of the sims 4 dlc for free (it takes a LONG time to download the actual dlc, set aside at least 12 hours where you won't need to restart or turn off your computer but it works perfectly) you will need a torrent and file extractor but the tutorial links to reliable free apps for both

WHAT WAS THAT THING YOU EXPLAINED TO ME AGES AGO FOR WAITING ROOM ABOUT HOW TO LISTEN TO SONGS THAT ARENT ON SPOTIFY ??? I NEED RED FLANNEL GEORGIA AND I NEED IT NOW
AKAJDFJSKFKS OK THIS IS MY FAVORITE SPOTIFY FEATURE YAY!! relying on people to have uploaded things as a podcast sucks so bad because they get taken down a lot and also it breaks up the vibe because the title and artist are always something random and the little picture is just a sunset or whatever idk IT BREAKS UP THE VIBE
so you can do this from any device, (i prefer to do it from my computer though for reasons that'll be explained later) and if you have spotify premium you'll also be able to listen to it on all devices, but first thing you're going to do is go into your account settings and turn on the local files option
Tumblr media
once you do that, it'll access any downloaded audio files you have, and you can listen to them on that device. they'll be stored in a spotify playlist named local files, similar to the liked songs one. (i would also recommend making a separate folder for the songs you want downloaded on spotify, at least on the computer, i know you can change which folder it takes from there. otherwise you might end up with random audio you downloaded for something specific in your spotify library.)
if you have premium, you can also turn on spotify on other devices, and add the song you downloaded to an actual playlist
Tumblr media
and it'll sync up on all your devices and you can download the playlist on every device. if you don't have premium though you'll either have to download it on every device or you can only listen to it on the first one you downloaded it on.
now for actually getting the song. this is really simple I tend to go straight to youtube and it's usually pretty easy to find the song I want, and then I just put the link into a youtube to mp3 converter (dodging the hot moms in my area. maybe next time ladies) and then I download it. make sure it's in the right folder and boom! I now have mitski's cover of let's get married to cry to on demand! soundcloud also works though obviously because any audio file will do, and a lot of unreleased songs get uploaded to soundcloud, and there’s a handy little download button right there and you don't need an account! great if you run into a song that isn't on youtube. totally unrelated but I have phoebe bridger's cover of iris downloaded
now. reasons I tend to do it from my computer specifically.
1. most shady websites are just easier to navigate lol. it's twice as hard to deal with pop ups when things are also rotating your phone screen around. so yeah i'd prefer to hit up the mp3 converter from my laptop
2. if you have any songs where the only video for it has an annoying intro or outro, it can be easier to edit it out. like lil nas x's cover of jolene was from the youtube channel for some fucking radio station or whatever so I had to edit that out. and my laptop's native audio file player has a trimming option, so I didn't have to download extra software like I would on my phone
3. and most importantly to me, you can make it aesthetically pleasing. when you just download the audio file it won't have an album picture and it won't have an artist name it'll only have whatever the file name is as a title, which you can change obviously but it doesn't fix the rest of it. on the computer it is so easy to download a metadata editor, and you can edit the file's metadata however you want and it'll have the little artist line and the album if you want and you can put whatever picture goes with the song but this is of course not required it just matters a lot to me personally
anyway have fun!

Online Archiving/Preservation Guide
hi it's sana. i am telling you again about how to archive and preserve your data on a physical storage device and physically kept. what you will need to first obtain what you want are these:
yt-dlp (while there are plenty of tutorials, what you wanna do is click download then the yt-dlp.exe link. after it finishes, put in a new folder just for it and the videos it will get. click on the address bar which is the one that's like "This PC > Videos > " stuff and type in "cmd" and press enter. Now, all you need to do type "yt-dlp.exe" at the end the command line provided and link whatever youtube videos or playlists you'd like to have <3. if you have any trouble, i apologize but i think you're best bet would be finding tutorials)
y232 (the site should be easy to learn from but this is for getting your youtube videos as mp3s and it works best for short music videos or songs on youtube. do know it bugs a bit and doesn't fully process sometimes so just refresh the page if that happens and try again or put the same link in again and try that way (refreshing is the better option). Do NOT refresh or open the links shown after they finish at the bottom in the same tab. drag them to another so that you can archive them from there. it gets rid of what has already processed if you're going in bulk so do be aware of that)
USBs (if you have a usb 3.0 port, get 3.0 flash drives but 2.0 works too they're just slower if you have the 3.0 port. if you have a lot to archive, i would recommend getting stuff that's more than 50 gb per usb (or get the 1 terabyte ones if you have the money for getting multiple). this way you can finish archiving then stuff can be stored onto a portable device. now do know, this is for temp storage only mostly since usbs can only be put in and out so many times before they stop working and that they are electronic and easily degrade. so instead...)
This is for physical and longterm storage of your things. the stuff above is more so how to get everything started while below will be stuff for more permanent/long-term storage
Bluray Discs & Bluray Drive (these are great for physical storage in most ways in that the standard disc has 25gb of space and can go up to 50gb with a DL disc. because of the tech used, data is indeed burnt onto the discs which as magical as it sounds can turn your digital data into physical, non-electronic storage. this is your best and most affordable physical storage. the links provided aren't necessarily the best versions but they are what i'm getting/have so be sure to research more if you feel they're not the best for you for whatever reasons. the handy thing about most (all?) bluray drives is that DVDs and CDs can be used in them as well so it's handy for all your optical storage discs. be sure depending on your space that you can put your drive on a flat surface so the disc reads and writes correctly (like how a hdd drive can be messed up in a computer if you move it around too much). now there are Mdiscs which last longer than LTH blurays but i think they shouldn't be your first option for now until you know more. i won't use them since i think i need a drive specific for writing onto those discs so yeah. for now, bluray)
Disc Sleeves (this is just so you can store your discs. you could get those bluray plastic disc cases but a one of those disc folders should be good enough to use just so long as you get a decent one. i wouldn't go unreasonably cheap on anything and look at the reviews of any potential ones you consider)
Imgburn (REMEMBER to use THIS link and not the official one. it has adware and is not as secure as far as i'm aware. a friend of mine helped and this link is the safer option. now, imgburn is what you'll need to make your bluray discs have information put on them. for a tutorial, there is this video. there is more to it in the settings and things but i think you should be fine and not need to tamper with them, although i'd encourage you to do more if you are curious and wanting to be sure about things. i haven't used it yet as of writing this because of not having my stuff yet, so yeah. anyways, it should be the best thing to use even though there are other things to get but this seems to be the most reliable thing to get for your purposes)
and i think that's it? if i have anything more to add, i'll add it to the lists above but this should be everything you need for now. do not be cheap in any of this (and by cheap i mean unreasonably like stuff that has bad reviews even if it's like $2 things. always remember to look at reviews of all the things you get and research individual stuff if you're not sure. i made this mistake by not knowing that our computer has a usb 3.0 port so i still got a usb 2.0 flash drive :3. remember that your usbs should be for extra storage for temporary times while physical discs are fore more permanent, long-term storage. bluray is the best option for efficiency but dvds/cds are also good if you have vewy few things you need to archive. again, don't entirely trust my word on stuff and get help from others or other resources if you need to or my advice isn't helpful in your situation
thank you and enjoy your archiving journey <3

is there any particular site/software you recommend for downloading videos from youtube?
Yes, I have 2 options that I've spoken about on here before! One is actual software and the other is a direct command-line program. Basically, that means that you're directly interfacing with your computer and telling it what to do through lines of text instead of through software. In macOS you use the Terminal app, whereas Windows has cmd.exe
Yt-dlp is the command line program. On top of letting you rip Youtube videos directly from the site, this program supports a huge array of other video/media websites. The program is highly customizable as well; I would highly recommend at least installing FFmpeg, which allows you to download videos in quality higher than the default 720p. Here’s a guide on how to do that for Windows and I wrote a guide here for Mac (I forgot to write in the guide that you should install FFmpeg via Homebrew).
If the Github page is overwhelming and too technical for you, don't worry, there are tons of guides you can look up online from tech websites/subreddits that use more approachable language. It took me a while to figure this out, lol. But I really do think this is an excellent tool.
However, if you are just looking for software, I can personally recommend the 4K Video Downloader. It's a fantastic application (compatible with Windows, macOS, and Linus) that allows you to save videos and mp3s from a huge variety of websites. You can download entire Youtube playlists, convert Youtube videos to mp3s, download videos with subtitles, etc. Most functions are free but a premium version can be bought for a one-time fee of $25.

I remember the first time I saw Phoebe, she was on the iPhone commercial, in her old band, Sloppy Jane, playing guitar and singing "gigantic" by Pixies (which I'm also a big fan of). I don't know why but within a few seconds of video I fell in love with her voice and decided to find out more about her. She had an EP and some videos (Chelsea and Georgia if I'm not mistaken. Very different from the versions we have now), covers (Teenage dirtbag with her friend Charlie Hickey. Which was my favorite cover) and small performances on YouTube, and I remember like it was yesterday how difficult it was to find her name, I just found it on a Blogspot that said exactly "if you searched about her because of the iPhone commercial" lol and there were pictures of her with very short hair and leather clothes and a yellow cover EP "killer EP". I remember I took videos on YouTube and downloaded them as mp3 to post on my old Tumblr account. I posted all that I got and when I posted "killer" suddenly an account with the name "phoebebridgers" liked it, and I really don't know if it was her, but given the circumstances where she wasn't famous, I'll keep it in my heart that it was her lol. I'm not a "I knew her before she became famous" person, I just wanted to say how great it is to see a good artist grow so much in music. Since I first heard her I knew she was going to be big in music. No matter how big she is, she is getting the recognition she deserves. The same I say for Julien and Lucy. Julien I met the following year, 2016, and the album "sprained ankle" was one of the best ever. I don't think I've ever identified so much musically with an artist as I did with Julien's songs. She was small and shy, still with few tattoos and now she is gigantic, It's like she was other person, but with the same essence. I know a little less about Lucy because I only got to know her music a little before boygenius, through the song "I don't wanna be funny anymore"... Who wouldn't want to hear a song with such a cool name? It was so fucking good just like all of her songs and I've been a fan ever since . I don't know if the boys will win these Grammys and honestly it doesn't matter, they are bigger than what this award could bring in terms of certification of "good music" (which honestly, no award means something is really good). What they are surpasses all that and, as a fan, I'm already fucking proud of these guys.

how to download (and mirror and transcribe) youtube videos
so the news that google is deleting inactive youtube channels was a miscommunication -- "Additionally, we do not have plans to delete accounts with YouTube videos at this time" (source, emphasis mine). but i hope this was a wake up call that archiving videos (and other content) you care about is really important. buy hard drives, save, reshare. videos dont stay up forever. youtube isnt forever.
i know how difficult it is to get into downloading videos, with how all youtube to mp4 websites seem to be broken. this post compiles general guides on how to manually download youtube videos (among other actions) through python programs. it's simple if you just follow the steps and constantly search the errors you encounter. i will also detail how i personally do it with my windows 10 pc, in case you use the same tools.
remember: your search engine, reddit, github, and help commands are your best friends.
* downloading youtube videos
reddit yt-dlp guide
original yt-dlp guide
how to download the best quality mp4
how to download videos from a search result
how to use command prompt
what is command prompt? this is a windows application where you navigate folders and run programs. you just type a command and hit enter. ctrl+c ends a command/program, ctrl+s pauses it (pressing any key unpauses)
how do i navigate folders? the basic commands are so: a) cd "[path]" to change directory (always put path and link names in double quotes so they are processed properly), b) cd .\.. takes you to the previous folder (ex: if you're in C:\folder A\folder B and run cd .\.. you go to C:\folder A), c) you can go to other drives by typing the letter and colon (ex: if you are in C:, typing D: then entering takes you to your D drive). this is important because where your python programs are stored is where you have to run them.
how to run python programs through cmd prompt? a) download the latest version of python. b) use pip to install programs. c) make sure you have also downloaded a program's dependencies (analogous to "pre-requisites"). d) type the program name then the command.
make sure to always update python and pip.
how to use yt-dlp to download youtube videos
how to get download yt-dlp? this guide worked perfectly for me. make sure to download all python programs in the same folder.
navigate to the folder you installed yt-dlp
the following are examples of commands you can use:
yt-dlp -h -- get a list of all commands
yt-dlp "[link]" -- download video as is (often in webm format)
yt-dlp "[link]" -f "bestvideo[ext=mp4]+bestaudio[ext=m4a]/best[ext=mp4]/best" -- download the highest quality mp4 video (highest possible in mp4 is 1080p)
yt-dlp -x --audio-format mp3 "[link]" -- download audio only as mp3
yt-dlp -i "[playlist link]" -- download a full playlist (you may also use the best quality command here)
yt-dlp -i "[playlist link]" --playlist-items [range] -- download range of playlist items
look at the guides at the top of this section for my ideas of what you can do with yt-dlp. you can even use yt-dlp to download from other websites
note: if you want to download instagram reels, you must include: --cookies-from-browser [firefox / chrome / etc] -- choose your browser
** mirroring youtube videos to archive.org
github tubeup guide: "tubeup uses yt-dlp to download a Youtube video (or any other provider supported by yt-dlp), and then uploads it with all metadata to the Internet Archive using the python module internetarchive."
this guide shows you how to install and use the program. this is an easy way to archive videos with the proper metadata -- do not archive videos en masse
the mirrortube archive.org community
*** transcribing videos
transcribing youtube videos w/o downloading: application
transcribing any downloaded video: openai guide
extra1: searching videos
ive seen confusion on how to naviagte youtube search these days. i know!!!! here are some tips:
changing search options to search by upload date shows *ACTUAL* results, rather than suggestions.
the same google tricks work on youtube: google tricks guide
using yt-dlp to search can be helpful to search youtube more precisely
extra2: downloading twitter videos online
i use this regularly, so i thought id also share.

The How-To for Elevenlabs AI Cloned Voices: Full Instructions with tips. ♥
Sorry this took so long, but I finally got around to making the list of what to do to use elevenlabs for AI voices. TikTok is loaded with this AI voice stuff, but nobody I know has instructions wrote down with a proper list of how to do it right on paper, so I did. The "How To" list is under the cut since it's long. If you can read my handwriting, then more power to you, cuz that's as nice as I got it with my ink pen. ♥
YOU MUST HAVE THE $5 SUBSCRIPTION for the cloning feature & most of us can afford $5.

Text: How to make AI for ElevenLabs using a browser.
Search for "character" audio files on youtube in one tab.
Copy the link & paste it into the box on ytmp3.nu/9CAC/ which should be opened in a second tab. Make sure the box next to "convert" says "MP3".
Save the mp3 file in a special folder. (Ex. audio for elevenlabs)
Go to clideo.com/tools. From the "Tools" tab, use the arrow & click on "All tools". Clideo needs to be open in a third tab.
Scroll down to find "Cut Audio". Choose the newly downloaded mp3 file that you converted from steps 1-3.
Cut the audio to about 4 1/2 minutes or until the file is less than 10MB.
Make at least 4 audio cuts & save them to a folder. (Ex. audio cuts for eleven labs.)
Name the cut file with the character name with "part 1" or however many parts you plan to upload with said character.
Go to elevenlabs.io in a fourth tab. Make an account & subscribe for the $5 monthly subscription to get the "Instant Voice Cloning" feature. (The subscription is required for the instant voice cloning & the $5 subscription gives you 10 voices to make every 30 days.)
Once subscribed, go to the "Voice Lab" & click on "Add generative or cloned voice". For the type, choose "Instant voice cloning".
Give the voice a name & upload the cut audio from steps 6 & 7. All audio files must be in MP3 format & under 10MB. Max samples is 25.
Add a label by clicking on the "+" sign. If the audio is American the first label has the be "accent : American". If the audio is in British, it'll be "accent : English".
Add a short description of the voice. {Ex. A young, male, student.)
Click "Add Voice".
Go to "Speech Synthesis". From "Settings" choose our newly "Cloned/ {character}" voice. For "Voice Settings" set the "Stability" around 5% & the "Clarity" around 75%.
In the "Text" box, write what you want the character to say. The more words, the better. Max is 5000 for the box, but "Total Quota Remaining" will depend on the subscription level. "TQR" resets every 30 days.
Click "Generate" & listen to the audio. If it's what you wanted, download the audio file to a folder. {Ex. AI voices from Elevenlabs). Make sure you put the character name in the title for organizing it.
For easy usage, bookmark the following: (a) Youtube.com (b) ytmp3.nu/9CAC/ (c) clideo.com/cut-audio (d) elevenlabs.io
Open each website in a separate tab in a web browser for the best experience. Have a bookmark that says "Eleven Labs AI Steps" with all the sites listed in step 18, keeping them in that order with either "a-d" or "1-4" so you remember.
Clideo is free to use in a browser, but not as an app.
ytmp3 is free to use regardless
For youtube, make sure the audio link isn't a playlist link, otherwise, the converter won't accept it.
I recommend bookmarking the youtube stuff (audio clips) in a bookmark called "Audio videos to convert for elevenlabs" so that when elevenlabs resets, you can switch out (the audio) as you please.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I'm well aware that my paper says 24 instead of 23, but I got interrupted when making it. Sorry about that. ♥
@silverxstardust @babygaunt @kaibanerdgang do share this so people will know how to do the AI voice on elevenlabs cuz people need proper instructions & some of us need exact details. ♥
Silver has my upmost thanks for getting me on the AI voice bandwagon, cuz my sister-in-law is dyslexic & this is useful to her, plus all those who are dyslexic. I'm ADHD myself & this makes reading more fun for me truthfully. I'll use it for fanfics, but nothing more. Why? Anything I want to have personally for me, like a voicemail recording, I'll go to conventions to pay the VAs for it since they're the OG voices & I get to spend time with them, which makes it worth the big bucks to me.
Hey guys this is gonna be one of my last post bout KOSA since I’ve seen a post saying if I reblog spam I might get banned.
But I gotta share this message
If Kosa becomes a thing and I need my ID to access the internet, which may cause my livelihood of identity theft, I want everyone to go on YouTube, go to their playlist, go to a YouTube mp4 converter website, and download as many videos as you can on your computer.
Here are some links I found
That way, if the government pulls this stunt or if KOSA falls through, you will sleep cozy at night knowing your favorite videos are safe and sound on your laptop.
Please reblog if you know any more free websites that cover YouTube playlists because downloading them one at a time is a bandaid on a survival bunker.
This is only a backup plan if the internet depression falls upon us.
Call your senator and try to stop this madness.
This link tree has a lot of info regarding how to help.
From .com to .org the internet will be free,
for queer voices,
for POC,
for preservation,
for communities,
for social justice,
for EVERYONE,
In my trek to move my iTunes playlist from one computer to another I have somehow activated a
JACKSON 5 METADATA CURSE
So here’s the thing: nearly all of my songs are downloaded off of YouTube, so most of them don’t have album art.
Recently, though I’ve started using a downloader that takes the thumbnail of the video and makes that the album cover, which is cool! I like that!
So, my most recent downloads do have cover art, but all of the MP3‘s from years ago don’t.
Now, one of these newer downloads is ABC by the Jackson 5, and somehow no matter what I do, nearly every song on the new laptop shows up in iTunes as having ABC by the Jackson 5 cover art. even songs that already have their own cover art.
Curiously enough, there are a few songs that are exempt from this end. It isn’t just songs that had album art already. Plenty of songs with album art show up as ABC. There are also a few songs with no cover art that stay blank.
Furthering my confusion, when I look into the metadata some of the newer downloads, it says that the album art is still the original thumbnails from their YouTube videos. So it hasn’t actually replaced the album art???
I have no idea how this happened or how to get it to stop. Songs downloaded on the new laptop have their video thumbnails as their album art.
Why have I been cursed this way? Why are some songs exempt from the curse? why does the curse not transfer to new downloads? Why Jackson 5 ???
Lingthusiasm Episode 78: Bringing stories to life in Auslan - Interview with Gabrielle Hodge
Communicating is about more than the literal, dictionary-entry-style words that we say -- it’s also about the many subtle ingredients that go into a message, from how you keep your audience in mind to how you portray the actions of the people you’re talking about.
In this episode, your host Gretchen McCulloch interviews Dr. Gabrielle Hodge, a deaf researcher and writer based in Melbourne, Australia. She specialises in research relating to d/Deaf people, signed languages, and communication, and has worked with Auslan and British Sign Language (BSL) in Australia and the UK. We talk about Gab’s work analysing how people tell stories using a mixture of conventional signs (such as “book”) and enactment, aka showing what another person or character did using your body, such as depicting how someone is carrying a heavy book. We also talk about collaborations in multiple countries and assessing what makes a translation accessible to deaf people.
We’re excited to bring you this bilingual episode in Auslan and English! For the full experience, make sure to watch the captioned video version of this episode at youtube.com/lingthusiasm (and check out our previous bilingual episode in ASL and English with Dr. Lynn Hou while you’re there).
Read the transcript here.
Announcements: Since we filmed this interview, Gab has accepted a position as Senior Lecturer in Sign Language Linguistics at the University of Edinburgh. We’re excited to see more great work from her there!
In this month’s bonus episode we get enthusiastic about four science fiction books/series we're read recently that project interesting future versions of English. We also talk about reading books set in the future but written in the past, and how several of these books now exist in a future that's in some ways more similar to their imagined futures than the time when they were being written. Join us on Patreon now to get access to this and 70+ other bonus episodes, as well as access to the Lingthusiasm Discord server where you can chat with other language nerds. It’s thanks to our patrons that we’re able to occasionally bring all of you bilingual video episodes like this one.   Here are the links mentioned in the episode:
hi!! i love your animatics! i wanted to start making some of my own and was wondering, if you dont mind me asking, how do you get the audios for the scenes you animate? i tried a couple of yt clips to mp3 converters but like its not really working for me for some reason :')
Thank you so much Anon! :D there are a couple different ways I scrape my audios, the first way that I did it was literally opening the entire several hour audio file downloaded from Patreon with Adobe Audition and cutting the part that I wanted but I don’t recommend that one XD
The ones I do recommend v
The way I get audio from anything YouTube is by using Y2mate WITH ADBLOCKER. This is important because without adblocker it only downloads correctly like 30% of the time and sends me to a new page to get a virus like 70% of the time. It likes to play games like that. But you can beat it with adblocker then it will give you what you want 100% of the time. I’ve got Ublocker origin but unfortunately idk how to install it cuz a friend installed it for me XD
Idk if you have tried this converter yet but it’s worked great for me so far and can download a video with visuals or only audio and everything.
(Link : https://www.y2mate.com/en899)
The second way I clip audio is the one I use the most because you can turn screen recordings directly into audio, but I’m not sure if it works on every phone I think it only works on iPhone.
If you don’t have an iPhone or this Shortcuts tutorial is just being annoying and not working skip this and just upload your screen recording video to YouTube as a private video to your own channel, and then rip your own audio off YouTube with the previous Y2mate method XD
Shortcuts Extract Audio tutorial below
If you wanna skip my scuffed screenshots here is a video version tutorial.
The two apps you need are Google Photos and Shortcuts.
Step 1. Screen record the clip you want.
Step 2. Open Google Photos and press the Share option on your video. We will be using a shortcut we make to rip audio. Once you make it you can always use it here at the bottom of the share options.
Tumblr media
Step 3. Idk why I’m numbering these steps, basically this is where you start to make the shortcut lol. Open the app and make a new shortcut.
Tumblr media
Step 4.
Rename ur new shortcut there is no preset Extract Audio shortcut available you have to make it. Then press the i at the bottom.
Tumblr media
Step 5.
Flip the Show in Share Sheet toggle. Then press done
Now go to add action button and search for Encode media.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Step 8. Press the down arrow on Encode media and toggle for Audio Only
Tumblr media
Step 9. Press the down arrow on Save and toggle on Ask where to save.
Tumblr media
Okay now you are done! Press done. You can leave the app after this.
Now you have a button in ur Google Photos share option to rip audio!
You will find your saved MP3’s wherever you sort them in your files from here. I usually toss mine into a folder in downloads. Then I go ahead and send myself the MP3 to my computer and put them into whatever software I’m using to animate from there!
Hopefully this made sense. If that doesn’t work just go back to option 1 : Y2mate with Adblock. Good luck! I am sure there are many other ways,, this is just the way I do it…
P.S. if you do make your own animatics I would love to see them so feel free to send me a link sometime! :D
drop the how to download music tutorial. unless you like actually pay for each song in which case do not
oh i don't pay for digital music because usually the fuckers that sell it can take it back at any moment so what's the point. that being said,
how to download music tutorial
there's easier ways to do this, mind you, but i'm scared of sketchy websites most of the time, also the easy way is literally just googling "youtube to mp3" and following your heart. ANYWAYS without further ado,
step 1: download vlc media player (that's what i use to download music, but again if you prefer sketchy websites go for it)
step 2: grab the link to the song you want from youtube
the rest of the tutorial is gonna be under the cut because it got too long
step 3: go to media on the top left and click open network stream
Tumblr media
[image ID: the options on the media menu on the toolbar on vlc. open network stream is highlighted. end ID.]
step 4: paste the link and click play
step 4.1: if the video starts playing, congratulations, skip to step 5 you lucky bastard. if not,
step 4.2: get the youtube.lua file from vlc on the least sketchy website you can find (i'm so sorry i forgot where i found it)
step 4.3: right click the vlc shortcut that probably is on your desktop and select open file location. that's gonna open the vlc folder in your computer.
step 4.4: open the lua folder (inside the folder you just opened), and then the playlist folder (inside the lua folder)
step 4.5: scroll down until you find the youtube.luac file and delete it
step 4.6: put the youtube.lua file you downloaded earlier in that same folder. now it should work fine, try step 4 again, and if it doesn't work, i have no idea why, sorry but you're on your own
step 5: go to tools on the top left and click media information
Tumblr media
[image ID: the tools menu on vlc. the media information option is highlighted. end ID.]
step 6: copy the link on the location thingy (it's the link on the bottom of the current media information window) and paste it on your browser of choice
Tumblr media
[image ID: the current media information window on vlc. end ID.]
step 7: right click the bastard (the video in the browser) and click save video as...
Tumblr media
[image ID: the first video i could find for this tutorial opened with the link i got from the location thingy on step 6. the right click menu thing is there. save video as is highlighted. end ID.]
step 8: save the video as mp4
step 9: open the mp4 file you just downloaded with vlc
step 10: go to the media menu on the top left and click convert / save
Tumblr media
[image ID: the options on the media menu on the toolbar on vlc. convert / save is highlighted. end ID.]
step 11: click the add button on the convert / save window. find the mp4 file you downloaded and add it. then, click convert / save on the bottom of the window.
step 12: make sure the profile thingy on the settings section of the convert window is set to mp3
Tumblr media
[image ID: the settings and destination sections of the convert window on vlc. end ID.]
step 13: choose the destination path for the mp3 file you're about to bring into the world, and click start (look at the image from step 12 if you need an image, i'm tired)
step 14: wait for the file to convert. and it's done! that's it! (the mp3 file is going to be on the path you chose on step 13)
i hope this helped because holy shit it was so many words to type
anyways have fun
We Are Birds of Heaven Journeying Back to Our Beloved - Spiritual Awakening Radio Podcast
Tumblr media
At the beginning of today's satsang podcast, some reflections on how we can be spiritually transformed by associating with the eternal truths and realities, focusing our undivided attention upon these teachings. This association and merger with Truth is called "satsang" by the masters. Different levels of satsang are also defined. On the positive influence of satsang upon our meditation practice, Shahi Swami once said: "It requires air in the form of satsang to ignite the fire of meditation."
Then we explore the theme of 'We Are Birds of Heaven Journeying Back to Our Beloved' about hansas, birds of heaven, the souls making their journey back to God, featuring readings from the mystic poetry of Sant Dariya Sahib of Bihar, the Sar Bachan Radhaswami Poetry of Swami Ji Maharaj of Agra, a hymn from Prem Bani Radhasoami by Huzur Maharaj Rai Saligram Bahadur, passages from Baba Somanath and Sant Kirpal Singh, then a satsang by Baba Ram Singh. During a recent satsang discourse that took place at a spiritual retreat in India for satsang gatherings, initiations and meditations, Baba Ram Singh described the journey of the soul, how the swan-soul was part of God -- in it's true essence remains part of God -- but as individualized drops from the Divine Ocean, souls have incarnated into various bodies in the diverse planes of creation, eventually reaching the astral realm, and finally incarnating into physical bodies, living various lives in the material plane. He speaks of the soul as having forgotten it's true home, it's true origin, but through the meditation practice it can remember again. One may place their attention within, and make the journey back to God. Swan-souls, hansas long parched for many lifetimes, may once again drink the divine milk, meaning the divine ambrosia, the heavenly nectar or amrit, spiritual sustenance, divine intoxication or bhakti (spiritual love), by going within and communing with God during meditation practice, transitioning away from the illusion of separateness from God, back to the state of Oneness in the Timeless Eternal Realm of Sach Khand, The Ocean of Love, Radhaswami Desh. Then we conclude with a mystic poem of Satguru Kabir: "O Swan-Soul, Where Are You Going?"
We are all hansas or hansas-to-be as we journey back to the Beloved, the Supreme Being in the Ocean of Love and Oneness.
In Divine Love (Bhakti), Light, and Sound, At the Feet of the Masters, Radhasoami,
James Bean
HELLO FRIENDS today i am going to teach you how to make your own custom enstars text tone!!!
you can use this to make a full song into a ringtone too if you like, or you can also use this to make something non enstars related too obviously
THINGS YOU WILL NEED - an iphone (this is all i know how to do im sorry android users) - garageband (its free) - a sound you want to turn into your text tone
OK PART 1: assuming you are like me and you want to make an enstars sound, you can get them right off the game itself. turn the background music down to zero and then screen record whoever you want saying a voice line. cut the video down to just the part you want and convert it to an mp3 (you can use any free online converter it doesnt matter). you can also just get them off of youtube or somewhere else if u have a video in mind
you can probably do this entire last part on your phone but i found it easier to send the video to my computer to cut to the correct length and convert it there
next you're going to need to put it into your files on your phone. the way i did this is by emailing the mp3 file to myself and then using the "save to files" option to put it in my downloads folder.
Tumblr media
PART 2: once you've got whatever sound you want in your files, open garageband and hit the plus to make a new song. then click "live loops" at the top, and then "new"
Tumblr media
next, hit the weird loop icon to find the sound.
Tumblr media
hit "files" at the top of the screen, select "browse items from the files app" to find your sound, tap it, and itll add it to the list. then hold down on it and drag it into that first square slot next to the plus sign.
Tumblr media
this will add a little microphone icon to the side. hold down on that, and then select "show in tracks view"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
then, repeat the step of hitting the loop icon and dragging the sound into place, just this time you're putting it into the actual track.
Tumblr media
you should have this now. at this point you can hit the top left triangle icon to exit out of this editor (it autosaves on its own)
now, you're just going to want to hold down on your "song," select "share" and then click "ringtone!"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
then you can just give it a name and hit export :) from there you can go into your settings or your contacts and use your new sound as a text tone or ringtone!!
i hope this was helpful!!! <3
Over the last year or so, a few of my favourite singers have released new albums, and I’ve been really excited about it, and thought I’ll listen to it and then write a post about it. But every time, I found the albums just a bit disappointing. Not bad or anything – some of them have had great songs on them. But all of them have made me think, this is fun but not as good as some previous stuff they’ve done. I didn’t post about any of them because I don’t need to write a post about an album that’s pretty good. I write about things when I get so excited about them that I just have to share it with someone.
That is some context to keep in mind when I say: holy fuck, the new Grace Petrie album.
It came out two days ago, and I've already listened to it all the way through twice. I try to do that at least once with new albums, as I don't like that the album is becoming a dying art, now that we can just pick and choose the tracks. I mean, 95% of my music listening is done by just picking the tracks I like, but every once in a while I try to listen to an album from start to finish like it's 2004 again, because some albums are meant to be listened to that way, and sometimes you get more out of it in context. I try to, at the very least, do it once when a new album comes out.
This one I did twice in a row, because it felt so much like a coherent album that it seemed worth doing again. The track order seems intentional, starting angry and cynical and political, moving into more personal but depression-based, then into hopeful optimistic cynicism-free love songs, then circling back to the political stuff but this time from a more hopeful perspective. It works so well as an album, and the songs are lovely, and it's been a long time since I've been this excited about a new album.
If you want to listen to the whole album in a row, you can do it here:
youtube
But if you're interested in that, you really should buy it on Bandcamp at the link I posted above, it doesn't cost that much and it's a way to support this kind of music, both directly with your money, and she sends things to her mailing list about how this affects chart position and that affects other things, I don't know how it all works, but I do know that if I like something that's available on Bandcamp I try to buy it on Bandcamp because that supports artists. I mean, I take media for free all the time, I don't pay for any streaming services (besides NextUp) because they're largely shit for both the artist and the consumer, but Bandcamp is actually good for both sides, it's great for the consumer too because they let you download correctly labeled DRM-free MP3s of all the tracks and it's really easy to use. No annoying extra stuff, just a folder with the 11 songs and a JPG of the cover image, which is also the thumbnail of the above YouTube video, which is. I mean. I don't wish to objectify Grace Petrie in a post about her feminist album that was released on International Women's Day, but Jesus Christ.
Anyway. The actual songs are so very good. I think her voice must have gotten even better in recent years, it's always been good but I don't remember being struck this hard, when listening to her previous stuff, by the power of her vocal range. There's also so much going on instrumentally in most songs, but then a couple of lovely stripped back ones near the end, and I like the combination.
I always say with my very favourite music and comedy things, they feel like the person wrote and performed this because they had something they really cared about saying, and not just because it's a new year or a new cycle and they're supposed to be put something out. This feels so much like the former. All these expressions of love and anger and engagement.
Meanwhile in Texas is the song that I've been waiting for someone to release for nearly two years. There was so much anger when Roe v Wade was overturned, but I remember at the time, reading all the stuff and taking in all the ways that artists reacted via some form of art, and none of it felt like it captured the situation enough to give me the vicarious catharsis I was looking for. Grace Petrie's written one that does.
The album starts on a ridiculously high note, I think the first track is probably the one I'll end up listening to on repeat the most times, though it's always hard to tell that when an album is so new. The Best Country in the World, just a classic anti-Tory protest song, where her vocals get to soar in this trademark way that Grace Petrie does so well, but I think it might reach higher heights than ever in this one. It builds and builds into a perfectly placed swear word at the end and I assume this is her new live show closer, right? It has to be. God, I'd love to see another Grace Petrie concert.
I could go through every song and explain why it's so great, but I'll cut the post off here and just say: it's not a long album, it's 11 songs and about 42 minutes in total. Do yourself a favour this International Women's Weekend and listen to it all in one go, it really rewards that. Also buy it on Bandcamp. Trust me. You won't be disappointed.
