“A’hm not that little any more! Okay, I’m still pretty little, just not as little as three apples tall. I can balance three whole apples on my nose when I’m a pony though, I’ve been practicing!”
By the way, Honey is a finalist on a poll on Twitter and if you want to see her win, which you oughta, go vote for her (#10) here!!

Back with more pony stuff!!! .........well, human versions of my ponies anyway. Hehheh (^~^;)ゞ
Tumblr media
Strawberry and his wifey Enchanted Blossom, they're having a baby, congratulations to them~ ^^
Tumblr media
Ooh, ehhh.....this ones a bit painful. Honeycrisp was Rosebud's husband before she got divorced and married Toasted Marshmallow. They had a baby together, as you can tell here, and I imagine Honeycrisp is off to work and Rosey just woke up so he's kissing her goodbye, more on the fate of that baby and the end of their relationship at a later date...
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, while Rosebud and Honeycrisp we're married, Toasted Marshmallow S'more ( I'll just refer to him as S'more from now on ) and Rarity's daughter Diamond Crest were together and they had a pretty cute, flirty relationship for awhile, not too serious but they were at least together for about a year. They broke up around the same time Rosey and Crispy did, but on good terms unlike the former. Anyway, S'more works out so he thought he could carry her, but she ended up being heavier than he was expecting and I imagine there were some teasing remarks from Diamond after this pic ^^
Tumblr media
After Diamond and S'more's relationship ended, Diamond decided to spend more time with Honeycrisp and be a comfort to him after his divorce. She has had a crush on him way in the past and while they were on such close ties she felt some of those feelings start to resurface. Of course though, Honeycrisp seems to be flawed in the way that he doesn't pick up on other people's romantic feelings towards him unless he returns those feelings ( but can't really blame him this time, the guy just lost his wife and son for Twilight's sake ) and so that relationship never went anywhere. Diamond however, was not deterred and soon found love in Twilight's son, Meteor Star, and they stay a happy couple for ever more.
Tumblr media
And of course, the power couple. After the divorce, S'more became to Rosebud what Diamond was to Honeycrisp, but more so, as they've been best friends literally since they were born. S'more has had feelings for her for a long time, way before she and Honeycrisp married, but he kept it secret knowing how she and Crisp felt about each other. And so, after the tragedy that was their breakup, S'more and Rosebud became closer than ever, and eventually they fell in love, becoming Ponyville's new power couple that the town hadn't known they needed until it happened.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I love these guys so heckin' much. I usually get obsessed over other people's characters and their stories, but this next gen is the first one —and the first characters— I've ever made that I'm totally obsessed with, like you have no idea. S'more is my fav and they're all very special to me and I'm so glad I've made them and can make them come to life through drawings ^^ Even if these ones are just bases.
Speaking of which, all bases belong to — @mh-presents ! I am literally obsessed with their bases OMGosh, u are amazing!
How would you feel about writing a Wally Darling x GN reader first kiss fic. I think it could be cute.
Such a simple but such a potential filled prompt, goldenwarefox... Honestly, I think it might just be a bit too open if anything!! So many ways it could go!! I'll sure as heck do my best to make a nice little story!! Enjoy!!
(♡˙︶˙♡)
Honeycrisp Blossoms🍎🌸
☆°•☆°•☆°•☆
The ground was soft underfoot as I walked hand in hand and side by side with my fairly new boyfriend and neighbor, Wally Darling.
There were trees that stretched out in every direction all around us, but they were spaced out evenly so that there was about three or so feet between them.
It was almost like a sprinkling of snow on the ground, if snow had a soft pink tint to it. The apple blossom petals lay on the grass, not minding a bit as we stepped on them.
I closed my eyes and stretched up my face to feel the warm sunlight filtering in through the leaves and dappling the ground.
"I can see why you like coming here," I sighed, the sweet springtime air welcoming itself politely to me, smelling like joy and life.
"I'm so very glad you like it, y/n," Wally replied.
I could feel his grip on my hand and my grin became a little wider, my feet a little lighter.
And oddly enough, my stomach became a little tighter.
I stopped walking.
"Let's sit for a while and watch the petals fall," I said, opening my eyes and looking at Wally.
As I expected, he was looking right back at me, and he nodded. Keeping my hand in his, he sat down on the grass, his back against one of my many apple trees, and I followed.
"I do believe I could sit here forever and not get up," he said in that slow monotonous voice of his, that somehow dripped with sweetness.
"Especially if you're here with me," he smiled, making my face warm.
I looked away, hoping he didn't notice. My brain raced to come up with a response, and I eventually was able to mutter out "uh... thanks. You too."
Oh nice going, y/n. I'm sure he thought that one was real intelligent.
He laughed his adorable halting laugh, and I tried to keep from getting any stupider. I turned my attention to the beautiful scene spread out before me.
Taking a deep breath in to both steady myself and because it was hard not to when the situation seemed so dream like, I leaned against Wally's shoulder, and he put his head on mine.
I put my head down on top, completing our sickly-sweet sandwich.
I could just barf, we were so cute.
Instead of doing that, though, I just enjoyed the flowers and the silent company of my partner.
I couldn't tell you how long it'd been, but after a while I picked my head up. I didn't know why.
Wally picked up his own head off my shoulder, turning to face me.
"What is it, my y/n?"
"I... I don't know."
I really didn't.
I wanted something, but I didn't know how to articulate it into words. I didn't even know what I wanted. Instead of saying anything else I just stared at him like a dumbass.
He stared back in that dopey way he always did, seemingly content to just do that.
And I started leaning forward, closing my eyes...
Wow.
Wow wow wow.
His lips were soft and yielding, and I could feel the smile he held them in.
I put my hand on his cheek, then the other, and he put his on top of mine, leaning back a little and giving me full control.
We sat there for a moment, though it felt like a million years. But when I finally pulled back I realized it'd been far far too short.
I opened my eyes wide in surprise.
"Crap... did... did I just do that?"
Wally's smile widened in playfulness, and he laughed again.
"Why yes, y/n. I would say you did," he chuckled.
I just stared at him stupidly.
"You wouldn't, perchance, care to do it again, would you?"
"Um... no, I think I'd like that."
And I did. I did like it.
☆°•☆°•☆°•☆
This turned out pretty cute, I think! Like I said, there were so many possibilities, so I was a bit stuck on the story, but I tried to focus mostly on the scenery, and I think that worked. Thanks again for requesting this, goldenwarefox!! I had fun writing this, and I look forward to more in the future!! Much love!!
I'm sure I've mentioned it before but I've been getting into mead making! It's simple and fun and helps me practice patience and long term time management lol. Plus it allows for so much creativity and is flexible with mistakes.
Anyway last night I bottled my second mead ever and started a third. My first ever batch was a basic hydromel, just orange blossom honey, water, and yeast. I used a beginners kit. Since then, I've bought more advanced tools and ingredients and have done more multimedia research. I made my second mead, a honeycrisp apple cyser, with fresh pressed apple juice. I bottled it yesterday and shared some of it with my DND group and they loved both batches so far! It's been so fun to share and experiment with.
I'm splitting all my batches in half, and aging half of them for six months to see how they change. One bottle of each is the control, unchanged from initial fermentation. The remaining bottles are back-sweetened with honey and water for a sweeter finish. I'm excited to see what happens!
Yesterday I made a stonefruit mead with peaches, plums, and dried apricots. I read that peach flavor gets lost in fermentation and that dried apricots have a peachy flavor and are a good support. I want to give this one a 'you are my peach, you are my plum's type name lol. I overfilled the carboy a bit, but I don't really mind. It's another lived experience in the process of learning. This morning the plug and airlock were forced out by the built up gases and it had leaked, but thankfully I've always been storing the meads in a large plastic storage bin on the floor for just this occasion. I cleaned it up and installed a larger air lock, and asked my husband to babysit it while I'm at work lol. The initial gravity reading was off the charts lol, so I expect this to be a strong one!
I don't know what I'm planning to do with all my meads and experiences from this point, if I'm just enjoying a hobby or trying to monetize it or what. But it's a good thing for now. 💙
Attempt #2 at Redesigning Honeycrisp!
Crackships are dumb, maybe I should just retire Honeycrisp and replace her with the far superior and brand tested universally beloved Flurry Heart!
Making ocs is cringe anyway, sticking to canon is what gets you popular!
“Ah’d say my bestest friends would be Pumpkin Cake an’ Ma Belle Danseuse - who we just call Mabel for short! Here’s a picture of us at our very first Starswirled Music Festival!”
“I met Pumpkin my first day of school, she threw a right tantrum because her brother Pound Cake - Pound is also one of my bestest friends but he was the one takin’ the picture I’m usin’ so he wasn’t here to label. Why he can be a might bit shy, which is a shame cause he had a great time too I just don’t have proof - oh, right I was sharin’ a story! So, Pumpkin Cake and Pound Cake were put into separate Kindergarten classes an’ she didn’t wanna have class without him so she was makin’ the biggest fuss no matter who Ms. Blossomforth sat her with-”
[Honey takes a sip of juice to catch her breath cause this is a long answer —]
“At last she was paired up with me an’ I told her about missin’ my Mabel. Mabel went to a special fancy schmancy private school so teachers could help with her autism aid an’ I missed her something awful. Pumpkin was glad someone got why she was carryin’ on so much about missing Pound so we got on thick as thieves ever since!”
“She was a lil’ mad when Pound came to our class in first grade an’ wanted to spend some time with me until she got that her best friend and her brother bein’ friends meant even more friendship an’ now we’re all the bestest best friends! I love watchin’ her bake an’ play baseball, she’s super tough and super loyal! She once stole a buncha dogs from the dog park to help me have a pet - though we did hafta give ‘em back - an’ she got that wicked scar from a big slide in a baseball game - I put a bandaid on it!”
“Now Mabel I’ve known since forever, she was my sister before I had my sister Amber! Mama and Mr. Uncle Blueblood were best friends since High School, an’ when he and Ms. Auntie Moondancer married each other and were expectin’ Mabel they moved closer by to us so that she could have some friends an’ I’m glad they did, cause we’ve been friends forever!”
“Mabel is the sweetest lil’ thing, she was so shy at first an’ had trouble communicatin’ cause of her autism, she was kinda mute and struggled with sounds - so I always keep headphones an’ other bits an’ bobs in my bookbag - I always help her though and that and school made it so she’s a shinin’ star! She is kind an’ smart an’ likes to act! She does lots of roles in our school plays, you should see ‘em sometime!”
“Phew! That was a mouthful an’ a half!”
Ft: Honey with her natural curly hair and Pumpkin with a protective style! Fun Fact: Pumpkin and Pound are mixed race and I alluded to Pumpkin having out of control curls during the pandemic asks from ages ago so since they’re back out and about and she is playing baseball, Cupcake and Carrot Cake have been styling her hair a lot more to keep it safe. Meanwhile Honey’s signature spiral curls are a sort of stylized protective style since her hair is so long and thick and texture wise is somewhere on the scale in the middle of her mama Cadence and her grandma Pear Butter, so ordinary she keeps it in the style I show it’s cute though, her natural curls, so I showed them off in her festival fit!
Beyond Beer- Crafting Delicious Ciders and Meads at Home
For many, the art of crafting beverages at home is a time-honored tradition, with beer often holding a prominent place in the spotlight. However, if you venture beyond the realm of hops and barley, you'll discover a world of exciting, palate-pleasing alternatives, namely ciders and meads. These unique libations, meticulously crafted from the essence of apples and the sweetness of honey, offer a refreshing change from the usual beer brewing. For enthusiasts like Thomas Bartley Chicago, they open up a whole new realm of exploration, rich in diverse flavors, steeped in cultural histories, and brimming with opportunities for DIY creativity. With each brewing session, they present a delightful challenge, an invitation to craft something truly unique and personal.
Thomas Bartley
At the heart of the cider-making process lies the humble apple. Unlike the uniformity found in commercial ciders, homemade ciders offer a spectrum of flavors that depend on the apple varieties used. From the tartness of Granny Smiths to the sweetness of Honeycrisps, each apple type contributes distinct nuances to the final brew. Experimentation with various apple blends is where the magic truly begins, allowing for a personalized touch that defines homemade cider.
The process of transforming apples into cider is an intricate dance of nature and human intervention, akin to a delicate alchemy. Initially, fresh apples are carefully crushed and pressed to extract their juice, the fundamental ingredient that forms the cider's base. After the pressing, yeast, a crucial catalyst for fermentation, is introduced into the liquid. This step initiates the transformation process, converting the sugar-rich apple juice into an effervescent and spirited cider, a process beloved by many, including Thomas Bartley Chicago. The fermentation period is a waiting game that spans from a couple of weeks to several months. It's during this phase that the cider acquires its distinctive flavor profile and alcohol content, the result of a complex interaction between the fermenting yeast and the natural sugar found in the apple juice. Each batch of cider hence tells a unique tale, that of its origin, the variety of apples used, and the skill of the brewer.
Much like cider, mead—often referred to as "nectar of the gods"—boasts a rich history entwined with mythology and tradition. Made primarily from honey, water, and yeast, mead offers a canvas for endless experimentation. Its origins date back thousands of years, revered by ancient civilizations and celebrated in folklore across the globe. Crafting mead at home allows for a deep dive into this ancient art, echoing the practices of our ancestors while infusing it with modern twists.
The process of making mead starts with sourcing quality honey, the primary flavor contributor. Like apples in cider-making, the type of honey used—whether wildflower, clover, or orange blossom—imbues the mead with distinct aromas and tastes. The honey is diluted with water, creating what's known as "must," and yeast is added to initiate fermentation. Mead can be customized further with additions such as fruits, spices, or herbs, elevating its complexity and depth.
One of the most appealing aspects of crafting cider and mead at home is the level of control and creativity it offers. Enthusiasts can experiment with different apple or honey varieties, tweak fermentation times, or infuse their concoctions with an array of adjuncts. Whether adding berries to cider or spices to mead, these variations allow for a truly personalized beverage that reflects the brewer's taste and vision.
In the artful world of homebrewing, patience is often lauded as the most essential virtue. Both cider and mead, two popular homemade libations, require substantial time to mature and fully blossom in their flavor profiles. This aging process, a natural progression over time, significantly contributes to the depth and complexity of these beverages. What starts as raw, freshly fermented creations, given time, undergo a profound transformation into refined and elegant elixirs. As the flavors undergo this evolution, they mellow out, culminating in a harmonious blend that is a testament to the brewer's patience and skill. This maturation process rewards the patience of dedicated homebrewers like Thomas Bartley Chicago, with a rich, satisfying, and full-bodied drink that is a delight to the senses. So, whether it is cider or mead, the result of this patient waiting game is a beverage imbued with character and a unique flavor story, much appreciated by enthusiasts such as Thomas Bartley Chicago.
Also, the art of cider and mead-making fosters a sense of community among enthusiasts. Homebrewing clubs and online forums serve as hubs for sharing experiences, recipes, and troubleshooting tips. The camaraderie among cider and mead enthusiasts is palpable, creating a supportive environment for novices and seasoned brewers alike to exchange knowledge and celebrate their passion for these beverages.
Beyond personal enjoyment, crafting ciders and meads at home presents opportunities for sustainability and self-sufficiency. Utilizing locally sourced apples or honey supports regional producers and reduces the carbon footprint associated with transport. Furthermore, understanding the ingredients and process empowers individuals to create homemade beverages free from additives or preservatives, fostering a deeper connection to what they consume.
The allure of homemade ciders and meads extends beyond the brew itself. The process, from sourcing ingredients to fermentation and bottling, offers a hands-on experience that engages all the senses. There's a meditative quality to the rhythmic tasks involved, whether pressing apples or monitoring fermentation, creating a sense of fulfillment and accomplishment with each batch.
In the tradition of homebrewing, sharing these expertly crafted drinks with loved ones brings a unique joy that extends beyond the brewing process itself. When you offer a glass of your homemade cider or mead, it isn't just about the beverage; it's about sharing the narrative behind it. This narrative encapsulates the brewer's commitment, ingenuity, and ardor for their craft. It can stir up intriguing discussions and foster an appreciation for these beverages that are often overshadowed. For enthusiasts like Thomas Bartley Chicago, each glass served is a testament to the craft's engaging journey and the personal passion poured into every batch.
Venturing into the world of cider and mead-making at home is an invitation to explore, create, and savor. It's a celebration of tradition, innovation, and craftsmanship that transcends the mere act of brewing. It's about embracing flavors, cultivating connections, and indulging in the delightful process of turning simple ingredients into something extraordinary—a taste of ingenuity captured in every sip.
Where Are the Best Places to Grow Apples?
When choosing where to plant apples, choose the proper location. This will ensure that you get the most out of your fruit and that your apples taste delicious. Your front yard, backyard, and trees are some of the most common places to plant fruits. You should, however, consider the types of apples you have.
Avoid basements and attics if you want your apple tree to thrive. These areas are usually excellent, but the temperature and humidity could be better for fruit growth. They can also provide excellent habitats for pests. If you store your fruits in your basement or attic, keep them in a well-ventilated area and check them for blemishes regularly. The University of Minnesota recommends storing items in newspaper-lined baskets.
Aside from the basement or attic, there are a few other options for storing fruit. Consider an unheated garage, mainly if your apples are in season. Some varieties, such as Honeycrisp and Red Delicious, can be stored for up to four months. Keep your apples in the dark, cool, well-ventilated place if possible, and make sure they are in good condition. To keep their quality, remove any rotting apples and make sure the rest are moist.
Apple trees can develop several issues due to being planted in low-lying areas. A lack of air circulation, a cold climate, or poor soil can all be detrimental to the tree. Furthermore, the tree will be vulnerable to a variety of apple-related diseases. Keep the following tips in mind to avoid these issues. The first step is to ensure that the area where the tree will be planted is well-drained. This will aid in the prevention of root rot. In poorly drained soil, root rot can occur, resulting in stunted growth. The problem is exacerbated if the soil is clay.
The following step is to ensure that the location is well-lit and sunny. Apples require at least six hours per day of direct sunlight. Avoid areas with the wet or low-lying ground. These conditions can be complex on the apple tree, causing it to grow slowly and produce soft or rotting fruit.
It's not all about hard work when pruning your apple tree. A few strategic cuts can help you maximize fruit production while reducing stress. Because your pruning efforts are likely to be limited during winter, a little extra attention during warmer months will go a long way. Generally, the best time to prune your tree is in the dying days of spring, before the dreaded freeze spell arrives.
Pruning an apple tree isn't particularly enjoyable, but a little knowledge and a dash of luck will ensure that your tree is healthy, happy, and on its way to fruition. Keep the following guidelines in mind to keep your prized possession happy.
The process of transferring pollen from one part of a flower to another is known as cross-pollination. This transfer occurs in apples when the flower's male anther combines with the female stigma. Cross-pollination is required for fruit production in most fruit varieties. Cross-pollination accounts for a significant portion of the fruit produced by pears and apples. Because some of these trees are self-fertile, it is critical to plant various fruits. Self-fertile varieties are frequently seedless and small. They do, however, occasionally set fruit.
The environment can impact a tree's ability to produce fruit during the blossoming period. Blossoms can be damaged by bad weather and destroyed by fungus diseases. Generally, it is best to plant a variety that is both productive and appropriate for the local climate. Fungous diseases can also interfere with a tree's ability to set fruit. Fungus diseases not only harm the pome fruit but can also destroy the blossoms.
